Went to P&P as a pre-concert stop (Avett Bros. @ Fox) based on a recommendation earlier in the day by another bartender at a very high-end location. He mentioned it was among his personal faves, so I figured Why Not? I'm SO thankful for the suggestion, as it offers other options for pre and post-Fox drinks or light faire. The selection are nice, the service accurate and prompt, and all in a quite clean location. Everyone there in the rather busy evening seemed yo be enjoying themselves. Easy to continue passing along the recommendation to others ... especially if in the area for the hotel or Fox Theatre. Just go. Give it a try.

Let me start off saying that the location is amazing. It's hidden under the Georgian Terrace, and it has great ambience. The food was overpriced and somewhat below average. We ordered about 5 small dishes (not entrees) plus a drink per person and the bill was over $70. Unfortunately, none of the dishes stood out. Their "pizza" was just some melted cheese on a baguette. There was absolutely nothing special about the deviled eggs (they actually used too much pickle relish). Pretzel? No...don't even think about it. I'm pretty sure it was from the frozen aisle at Kroger. The meat and cheese plate was disappointing to say the least. They claim that they cure the meat themselves but it tasted like bad/cheap lunch meat. It was worse than the ham you get in lunchables. The cocktails, fortunately, were quite good. The bartenders are creative with the ingredients, and all the drinks were well-balanced and interesting. Drink here. Eat somewhere else.

Inside The Georgian Terrace hotel in Midtown Atlanta, this establishment offers a good location for sharing drinks and conversation. Our server knew the food offerings well and led us to some good choices. She was very personable and interacted with us extensively. Noise level was acceptable and drink prices reasonable. It is open until 2:00 A.M. which is great; however it does not open until 5:00 P.M. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area.

1. The location is awesome! It is right under the Georgian Terrace. The decor is speakeasy reminiscent, but not outdated. Very classy. I love the booths! 2. Every staff member we encountered was so nice. Our waitress in particular was knowledgeable and amazing. 3. We did not eat. We had drinks. We all had the Diabloto, it was very balanced and expertly mixed. It was a recommendation from the waitress and I loved it. To try something else on the menu we had a round of the ginger beer. I want to point out that they make all their mixes there. Everything is fresh which makes all the difference when making a good drink. They even make their own ginger beer. It was amazing! I can't wait to come back and try their food.

My husband and I had reservations at a nearby restaurant (walking distance) but when we began to venture out the sky let lose so we chose to stay and have a quick dinner at the Proof and Provision. The menu is limited, the bar choices are "boutique" and the service great! Maybe not a first choice, but a real close second!

P&P was a great spot to spend our last single night with our friends who had flown in for our wedding. Casual atmosphere, good selection, and some shuffleboard to play and wind down. Very dark inside, but perfect at night on the weekend.

The bartender was so nice and made the best martini I’ve ever had! The food was great and they were open late. Had pizza and wings after a show, so good!

P&P is tucked away under the Georgia terrace hotel. At first glance you wouldn't even know it's there. It looks like an underground cellar, and all the tables and chairs are very industrial. The place prides itself on their trendy vibe and underground attitude. But it is not pretentious. The drinks, hands down, are amazing. However, they are pricey ($8 to $14 for cocktails). The food items consist of snacks and sharing plates: not enough for a full meal, but very yummy and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a great low key place with amazing drinks and money is not a concern for the evening, it's one of the best gems in midtown.

If going to the Fox Theater, consider staying at The Georgian Terrace Hotel. Try out the Livingston Restaurant+Bar and/or Edgar’s Proof & Provision Restaurant (both inside The Georgian Terrace Hotel). Self Parking is $25/day on the side street next to the front hotel entrance (hotel guest ask the front desk for a key card to get in and out of the parking garage). Valet parking is $35/day (I believe). The Georgian Terrace Hotel, circa 1911. Fox Theatre Historic District. Midtown Atlanta, GA. 8/17/18-8/20/18.

It took a while for our server to acknowledge us (I understand it was getting busy, but a "hey, I'll be with you in just a minute" would have been appreciated.) Once she did speak to us, she was not friendly or welcoming at all, no smile. My date had a peanut allergy, so we asked if they use peanut oil in any of their cooking. We got a blank stare, and a "no." So I pushed further and asked if she could check, and she said, "oh no, we don't at all, so that's why I just automatically say that." Well, after taking our food order and drink order, she went away, came back and told us that she spoke with her manager and that they decided they would not be serving us food because of his allergy. Did we still want our drinks? Well, no, we don't want our drinks or to give you our business since you seem unwilling to accommodate a food allergy that you previously indicated would be a non-issue. If this truly was a management decision also, it would have really been appreciated if said manager had come out to explain it as such.

I connected with Walt in order to put a gathering together to celebrate my fiance and I getting engaged. Walt was so excited to be a part of it and was there for us and our 20 friends that night. He brought tons of positive energy and treated us like his own. A wonderful person - we're grateful to Walt, Matthew, and P&P for making our night one to remember. Cheers!

We enjoyed having a nightcap here twice during our stay at the Georgian Terrace. The first night our bartender was quite knowledgeable about beer and the selection was good. My hubby enjoyed that as he brews a bit himself. The second night we had a light supper, split a sandwich, the special. It was mediocre. Lots of good meat but the bread was too thin for the amount of meat and was saturated in fat. The bar is definitely worth a visit when staying at the Georgian Terrace if you enjoy a nightcap.

Fast service, lively atmosphere, good eats...we enjoyed metas and cheeses selections while our friends joined us for after show snacks with hot and fresh pretzels....perfect!

More of a drinking place with a variety of unusual cocktails and micro brews, menu is snacks, food so so, service excellent, gets very busy after Fox events. Nice buzz

Great drinks and great small food plates. would definitely recommend and will go back if I'm back in Atlanta.

I stopped in to P & P each evening for a draft local beer. The servers were friendly, and very knowledgeable. It is a dim bar, but I didn't mind.

This place is very cool. The decor is awesome and the drinks and food are great. We stopped here before going out to dinner and had a couple of specialized cocktails made by Nate. They were good and went well with the deviled eggs and smoked rosemary almonds.

My sister and I were staying the hotel and thought we would try out the younger bar scene in the hotel, P&P. Great, powerful drinks, but expensive as was the rest of the menu. The price was not really an issue for me, but the service was horrible. It is worst service we had the whole time in Atlanta. It took a long time to get our drink order and for us to order food. It was as if the waitress was doing us a favor to wait on us.The bar was not busy by any sense of the word and I could not figure out where the waitress kept disappearing to. It was a one and done trip to p&p. I would recommend looking else for a good drink elsewhere with better service.

Very nice, rustic old tavern look. Not your usual drinks, more upscale, but still get old standbys. Great place.

Wish I'd been hungry, as the food looked yummy. Dropped in late night after a show at the Fox, and had a great time. Bartenders were fun, and it wasn't too loud. Nice that it was onsite where I was staying at the Georgian Terrace Hotel. Will come hungry next time.

We came by hoping for a snack, and were surprised by amazingly good food, locally and freshly sourced. The deviled eggs were smooth with a lovely bacony flavor. The blue cheese cole slaw was outstanding. The tomato soup with puff pastry was almost a stew, and so delicious it was like drinking warm, fresh tomato. The grill cheese was rich and satisfying, and the pickled veggies were tart and tasty. Great service and nice atmosphere.

Small "Pub" type lounge inn the basement of the Georgian Terrace Hotel. Fantastic lite menu and offerings, great value. The bartenders are super creative, the setting is relaxed and has that old-timey pub feel...just with even better food!

James & Josh and Manager of the bar Amanda provided amazing service at P&P for us over the last few nights. The customized drink menu is refreshing, original and well worth trying. Super friendly and made the atmosphere in the bar great nights out. Once the crowds the Fox Theater next door come in as well the vibe increases. Highly recommend this place and their approach to service and drinks.

The drinks here are second to none and at a price point that won't break the bank. The food is fabulous and the bartenders know exactly what they are doing so never be afraid to get adventurous at this wonderful spot.

We stayed in this lovely hotel and wanted to check out the bars on the property. The place has a lot of character and the bartender was very gracious and friendly. She poured a good drink and was a good conversationalist. It's in the basement and had a great underground vibe. . ..

Visited Edgar's Proof and and Provision in the basement of the Georgian Terrace Hotel on a Saturday Night and the place was packed with the young and the young at heart enjoying the libations and the culinary creations....try the grilled cheese, the craft cocktails and the pretzels, well worth the trip....

We love this place. The cocktails are varied, elegant and unique. Decent if not great beer and wine list but something for every taste. The unique bar bites are affordable and really good; they smoke their own almonds and they come out warm! Really fun staff that is cool but NOT hip. We've been here both pre-show and post-show drinks when going to the Fox Theater; the staff is attentive and gets to you quickly, especially pre-show. All in all a really cool but accessible cocktail lounge and a great place for a drink and a snack.

P&P is located (hidden) below the Georgian Terrace Hotel. It was a pretty cool place the times we've been there. Dark, "hole in the wall" kinda place with great drinks and really good small bites like, grilled cheese, meat plate, four cheese pizza bread, etc. The place was packed and noisy and we liked it!!

Great spot to stop in for drinks and a quick bite. Food and drinks are consistently great! As always the customer service is great and the bar staff gives great recommendations for nearby food and activities. Make sure to see Dee when you come!

My husband and I visited while saying the night in midtown for our anniversary. Food, service, ambiance and location are all top notch. Best place to hit up before going to The Fox for sure!

We popped in one late night to grab a drink and were pleasantly surprised to find out the food was great too! We tried a few late night cocktails along with the wings and chicken and waffles. Both were delicious and reasonable. Our waitress could not have been nicer to our big (and loud) group. We appreciated it and will be back next time in town.

Simple fare, stylishly presented in a trendy atmosphere. Nothing fancy, but it's a pub, after all. I would happily go again.

I'm definitely a cocktail connoisseur, and I was very impressed by the bartenders and choices at Proof and Provision. Not only do they make a lot of classic cocktails, but they're doing a lot of innovative things by making their own mixers (using herbs and a variety of flavorings) as well. I am definitely revisiting this bar the next time I'm in Atlanta.

This place is located in The Georgian Terrance with entry from both inside and out. It is a great place to hang out. The bartender is really good at making and suggesting different cocktails to suit your mood.

Hi - We stopped there after going to the Fox Theatre and ate a light dinner/snacks. Very good food and quaint atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

Had a great server. Wish I had paid attention to her name. I just had the pretzels as I was alone. Would have loved to tried other "snacks" on the menu. Decor is great. Would try again if attending Fox event or staying in hotel again.

If you want the best drinks in ATL this is the place. Watching the bartender carefully mix the drinks using vials of special "bitters" and flavorings was intriguing. The brick and vintage lighting in this bar/pub make the atmosphere amazing. I love that the music was a mix of hits and the volume was low. Some bars are so loud you cant think or talk but this atmosphere is perfect. Try the Side Car if you are a mixed drink lover! and the Moscow Mule is the best I have ever had!!

I had the vegetables and deviled eggs to start with. We shared and both enjoyed this. We then got a bratwurst sandwich and grilled cheese to share. Both were wonderful but we agreed that when we come back we will get grilled cheese sandwiches. We both drank cider and enjoyed it. The service was wonderful and we will return when we attend the Fox.

I recently stayed at the Georgia Terrace while attending a wedding, and Proof and Provision is located just down the stairs. The establishment was clean and inviting, dim but not dark. While their is not a lot of seating, there was plenty of space in my two visits (although it did tend to get a little crowded after 9pm). The bartending staff kept somewhat busy, but our waitress was great and attentive (thanks Renee). This little pub has plenty of beers available, and their wings are some of best I've ever had... and I've had a lot of wings!!

Stayed at the Georgian Terrace for a weekday show at the Fox. The other hotel restaurant was packed, so we opted for Proof and Provision. It's a great, unique setting in the basement of this historic hotel (brick walls, prohibition era decor). Very family friendly even though it's basically a bar. Great menu items with something for everyone. Kids loved it and we weren't stuffed before the show!

Talk about an experience !!! The bartenders are true mixologists & know what they are doing. It was fun to watch them work and better to drink their work. The food looked amazing ... we didn't get a chance to sample that. The atmosphere is cozy and the building itself it beautiful.

We did a late night dinner and early evening dinner there during our stay. Both times the food was good, service was friendly, and very reasonable prices.

I was excited to go, I had heard great things, but I’m not sure if it was because we got there early, it was about 8:30pm before our show at the Fox, but the bartenders were talking amongst themselves and not very attentive, and there weren’t many people there. We ordered drinks, which were also just ok! The baked bread pizzas were good but very small portions! We also ordered the chicken and waffles and it was the most dry waffles I’ve ever eaten, I left mine uneaten! The ambiance is great, as is the decor, great modern tavern vibe! I would probably have to give it another chance, but I would go later and just for draft beer!

We were pleasantly surprised - right across from the Fox Theater is a little Pub in the Georgia Terrace Hotel. We started with a Meat & Cheese Plate - pretty tasty - 2 salamis and 2 cheeses, plus honey, nice toast and homemade pickles. I had the roast beef sandwich with cheese, daughter had some pork & cheese. Two drinks (I didn't like mine much), and a brownie sundae. It all came to about $50 - half what we spent at the Melting Pot a few weeks before.

It was rush hour in downtown Atlanta, so myself, my friend, and her daughter ducked in to P&P to wait out the traffic. It seemed promising at first, but soon proved otherwise. Our server struggled to provide answers about the drink and very limited menu items. We settled on one cocktail and 2 Cokes. 4 pretzels (which were very good) and a side of beef jerky came out to nearly 60 dollars with tip, and we were still hungry!!! I have no problem dropping money on a good meal, or more, the better the meal is, but let me leave feeling some satisfaction!

Popped in for a drink and a quick bite expecting a pub-style warm atmosphere. Pub - check. Atmospheric decor - check. Warm atmosphere - oops, no. Very limited menu offers some predictable choices, some with imaginative twists. The menu itself is pretty but hard to read and the lighting was so poor that I had to read it by flashlight. The wait staff seemed bored. Tip: the open kitchen scene offered some amusement and enthusiasm.

I can tell from other reviews that I am not the only one that feels this way. I came in with a group of friends for some food and drinks before going out in Midtown for a birthday celebration. Our waitress was less than friendly and not very attentive. Our food came out before our drinks. I enjoyed the tomato soup and procuitto sandwich. Very tasty. Would have been nice to have my cocktail with it though. Our drinks eventually came. My Old Fashion was perfect. I feel bad because one person in our party waited at least another 20 minutes before the waitress decided to stop back by and had to be reminded about not getting her drink yet. Maybe I will try just sitting at the bar next time.

Great food and service!! Not a big selection, but the food is VERY good!! The atmosphere was very nice for small pub. Great service!!

It had a great atmosphere. Drinks and food were great. Not only the guest enjoyed it but the locals come as well. That says a lot.

Stopped in for light bites and a glass of wine prior to a show across the street at the Fox Theater. Food was great. Wine was nice. But our server Kendra was the star of the show. The team at P&P are lucky to have her. She managed more tables than most humans could and she even kept a difficult table of 8 as happy as they could have been! Come for the food and drinks. Come back for the service.

The bartenders at P&P have some skills when it comes to their bourbon. From basics to old fashions and manhattans to some crazy deal where the make a glass cannon out of an ounce of Booker's, you cannot beat the service and quality you get from Nate and Alex.

My office was hosting a gala event at the Georgian Terrace hotel (attached to Proof and Provision. We'd spent a great deal of money, time, effort, and energy into making this event a success. As a reward to ourselves before the event started, we decided that we would head down to P&P for a few drinks and light nibbles---which were delicious. The space itself was incredibly charming, cozy, and quaint (in a good way). We were the only ones in the bar area (there were 6 of us) and we found the biggest booth that could fit our party. We all ordered our drinks and my partner ordered a Southern 75---a staple drink of Proof and Provision that has been featured in a number of different magazines and publications. The server came back and said they could not make it. Now, this bar had at least 30 bottles of different bourbon and had beer (including Sweetwater) available and my partner said any beer and bourbon would work. He politely pulled out the drink recipe for the server and she showed it to the bartender. The bartender then repeats in a gruff manner that they can't do it and adds---(direct quote) "I'm the bartender and I have the final say over what I make and what I don't." Now, I'm not one to use the term "the customer is always right" because---in fact---they aren't. But for the bartender in an empty bar to be that rude, that arrogant, and that unbecoming (especially with a group who'd spent a great deal of money to be there) was not only insulting, but demeaning. I certainly expected more here, and will consider taking my business elsewhere as a result of this poor service interaction.

I was disappointed in the Proof and Provision. It didn't live up to the description or write ups. They only have draft beer, can not make many mixed drinks at all. The food selection is indeed little bites, and the selection is poor. We didn't order. We left. The staff was relatively friendly but not helpful in selecting a beverage.

Cute place for an afternoon cocktail but expensive drink prices $$$. There are better local places, so I would probably not return.

This is a sweet little speakeasy that retains the look in the "basement" of the hotel. The bartenders have always treated us well. They make some pretty darn good drinks too and will tweak them to your taste after they get to know you. The deviled eggs are yummy as well as the beef jerky (if they haven't run out...which they tend to do)

Great drinks. Fantastic service! Was a tad hot. Got some drops of sweat in my drink but if the building manager fixed the AC this would have been an easy 5 stars. Definitely will come back once it's fixed and will spend a lot of money here once it's fixed. Also very cool and cozy decorations.

No matter where we are in downtown, seeing a show, having a nice meal or just a casual after work meeting, we never fail to hit Proof & Provision for an Old Fashioned. They make the absolute best in the city!

We were staying at the Georgian Terrace after attending a concert at the Fox and wanted a light snack and drinks around 10:30 pm on Sat. night. We were excited to have an interesting sounding bar right in the hotel. After seating ourselves, we waited about 10 minutes & were about to leave when the server approached us. She was pleasant so we decided to stay. I have to add that the place was not busy, in fact it was almost empty. We paid $8.00 for a rather average French dip sandwich (no au jus was served with the sandwich) and $8.00 for a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon added for an additional $3.00. We didn't order drinks since no one said anything about "special drinks." No chips or anything special came with the sandwiches other than a thin pickle strip. We were disappointed in the menu options, the presentation of the food, and the lack "an array of elixirs" as the ad in our hotel room advertised. Lastly, I had to go and find our server sitting in the back service area so we could get our bil, pay, and leave.

Great location and nice selection of bourbon. The issue would be the menu does not have majority of the things on it. The menu has a draft beer list but they had no draft beer and the bartender informed me it has been that way for over 10 months. The menu states they have fries but no fries, just bagged chips. They have a drink menu, but they were out of half the drinks.

Liked the ambiance, great bartender, great service. Enjoyed a cheesesteak sandwich. Rustic room with cozy atmosphere.

Proof and Provisions Is a great midtown bar tucked away in the basement of the gorgeous Georgian Terrace Hotel. It's just across the street from the fabulous Fox theater. It's a perfect spot to meet friends for a drink and have some savory bar food before a concert or hang out in the afterglow. Service is friendly and prices are reasonable.

I highly recommend the chicken and waffle sliders with the emergency drinking beer. This is a well maintained and service restaurant/bar. It has more of the barroom feel with restaurant level food.

Proof and Provision has a good concept behind it, and I am a big fan of craft cocktails so I was excited about it. To be honest the staff wasnt that nice at the bar, but the wait staff on the floor was awesome. If you enjoy a good bourbon then come take a seat here, but bring you wallet a bit. It does have a shuffleboard table to entertain but for attempting to be quite trendy and sophisticated, the shuffleboard was a suprise.

That biscuit and deep fried yardbird is by far the best I have ever et in my life. The light honey drizzle complimented the tomato jalapeño spread like it was meant for that moment. The atmosphere is cozy casual, the clientele were all beautiful people. Nobody was rushed, not even the servers. Have a seat, a local brew, and enjoy the time spent here.

This restaurant has a great ambiance - in the basement of the Georgian Terrace. We started with small plates and cocktails, which were delicious. The smoked chicken wings were particularly good. For dinner we ordered the pizza (spicier than I thought it would be, and it was OK), Prime Rib sandwich (OK) and Grilled Cheese (OK). The menu was a little difficult to read. At one point we ordered coffee, and were told that no coffee was available. So we went to the upstairs restaurant and got some to-go coffees, brought them downstairs. I would definitely return for the cocktails and snacks, but probably not for the main course plates. Great Bartender.

Located in the basement of the Georgian Terrace hotel. Great environment. Food was good for a quick bite and large selection of top shelf libations. Bartender Terry was very nice, personable and attentive! I love a great speakeasy and this checked all the boxes.

P & P is a great restaurant in the beautifully renovated Georgian Terrace hotel. The food is wonderful and the location in the bottom of the hotel gives it a very sexy feel. Chef Mark Breault does a phenomenal job with the menu- -the smoked almonds, chicken & waffle siders and overall atmosphere are terrific! Definitely worth visiting!!!!

For being a hotel bar (underneath Georgian Terrace), you might (like I did) discount as being a boring ol' spot as often is the case in hotel outlets. I live in neighborhood and regrettably failed to try for the first couple years it was open, but now it’s a favorite go-to spot of mine. The menu is interesting and might catch some off-guard as not being extensive enough, but combine a couple items (pretzel, Caesar salad, and chicken biscuit is my favorite combo- all amazing) and you have a great meal. The grilled cheese is also out-of-this-world, but favorite is the chicken biscuit. (You won’t get my excitement until you try it.) Their focus is craft cocktails, which I’m still learning about every time I go. The Firm Handshake is a fun one, as are the others on the menu. Definitely try one of the specialty cocktails on menu, as you’ll regret a simple choice like vodka/cran. Justin is usually bartending when I go in and makes a mean drink (and is super friendly), however when friends and I have grabbed a table the servers are great too. (The couple managers I’ve met when they’ve spoken are nice too and seem to be visible.) I’m glad P&P is part of the neighborhood as it has a cool hole-in-the-wall vibe. Just be cognizant that if there is something going on at the Fox Theatre (or a wedding on the weekend as I’ve also run into), it can get quite busy. Nonetheless, food and drink are both worth a little wait.

What a cool bar. The bartender really knew his stuff and was able to talk with us in depth about our selections. We ordered several snacks off the bar menu - each was delicious and very well-priced.

Don't pass up the opportunity to dine here. We had an amazing chicken biscuit with tomato & jalapeno jam & pickled mayo...WOW! Cesar salad was great, as well as the sweet & sour wings & hot pretzel with cheese. Service was great as well as the beverages. Can't wait to go back & try more menu items.

This is the worst bar in all of Atlanta. The service from the bartender was awful and when complaining to the manager about the bartender, the manager was just as rude. Stay away.

Had cocktails with friends here a few weeks back. We had the chicken liver mousse and selection of cheeses to start. Cocktails were good and our server capably directed us to good choices. I had the bacon grilled cheese. It was cheesy, greasy goodness. My compatriots went with the prime rib sandwich and the confit wings. All very good. Each item seems to be well thought out. They have an array of pickles and infused vinegars aging on the sill of the open kitchen. The kitchen fellas bantered with me about them as I waited to use the lieu. Cool place. Love this trend of modern day speakeasys and blind tigers...

We found this to be very convenient and very tasty food. We had one dinner there as we arrived late and 1 light meal on game day.

I've never had simple food (such as a grilled cheese sandwich) that was so amazingly delicious. It's easy to eat here if you are on a budget, but require great food. Four of us dined, and each of our tabs were only $12 to $16.

The cocktails are definitely hand crafted with an upscale twist. The snacky foods are really good, too. It was great to be able to visit and stay inside The Georgian Terrace when it was raining really hard outside.

Delicious cocktails and appetizers - our waiter sold us on the candied bacon - it did not disappoint! It was difficult to find information online about Edgar's Proof and Provision (menus/prices, etc.). Prior to my visit, I reached out via email as well as calling on the phone and leaving a message to inquire about reservations - I never received a reply.

Loved the cocktails here - really unique and fun menu. Huge bourbon selection. Alexis was our bartender and she made one of the best Sazeracs I’ve ever had. She was super knowledgeable and friendly.

Great food and drinks! House made beef jerky, rosemary salted almonds and unique drinks! Fun atmosphere.

Great Southern pub food and draft beer. Nice atmosphere and great service. Was perfect before going to a show at the Fox Theater.

This bar and restaurant is one of my favorites. The house cocktails and food is so good. Great beer selection for brew heads.

Visited Atlanta and was taken to this hidden gem with brick walls nestled up under an incredibly beautiful hotel. It was freezing cold in there, so I recommend taking a jacket, but the beverages were good. I had a gin drink ("Eyes Wide, Ears Open") and a glass of white wine. Prices for drinks were about what you'd expect in the heart of the city - about $10-$14 a piece. My coworker and I didn't eat, but the food they were preparing smelled fantastic. Would love to go back here, and take friends who hadn't been, as it's unique and feels like a secret treasure inside.

We went here before a show at The Fox. The wait staff ( 2 people for the entire restaurant) were trying desperately to keep up with the crowd but we waited 30 minutes for a cocktail. The food came out very fast but one order was wrong and the fries were cold. But, because they were so busy we were stuck with what we got. We went to the bar to get the missing cocktail and the bartender promptly gave me the drink with a bit of attitude. The BBQ shrimp was good.

This place reminds me of the basement bar in Inglorious Bastards- minus the shootout! Very cool vibes, talented bartenders and chefs, and there always seems to be good people to talk to. A little on the pricey side for drinks, but definitely worth it.

I was very impressed by every drink I had at Proof and Provision. Their rum cocktails (daiquiri and the special punch) were the best rum drinks I've had. The food was only okay and from a very limited menu. I wished I could have ordered a full dinner here. The biggest problem I had with P&P was the painfully slow service. We waited 10-15 minutes for mixed drinks and 30 minutes for the check. There are definitely some things they need to iron out.

Had the Love Bruise to start, but the flank steak jerky and homemade cinnamon whiskey were definitely the highlights! Probably the best jerky I've ever had....

A little noisy, but think that is the style for this hip and active spot, with lots of big tables and tasty table snacks and mini-meals. A good recent addition to the GT offerings.

Stopped by for a few drinks during my stay, the bartenders were very nice. Didn't try the food but it looked pretty good.

P & P seemed more like a neighborhood bar than a restaurant. It was pleasant but very average. The service was not very good but our Server did say that he was new. He did try hard to please so it was still an enjoyable experience. I would recommend it for its location. Just don't go with high expectations. Maybe we were there on an off night.

My husband and I were going to a concert at the Fox and parked on Piedmont. We walked down Ponce and just happened to see the P&P. It was a cold night and it looked warm and cozy inside, so we decided to give it a try. The feel of the bar is great, there were some people dressed fancy-ish, but several in their hangout clothes- like they lived near by and just stopped in for a quick meal and a drink. We felt very comfortable there. I had some Tequila/ginger drink that was great, and my husband had a beer. I wasn't going to eat, but he ordered the French bread with pimento cheese and bacon and it was divine. In fact, it was so good that I ordered the buffalo chicken French bread and we split that. The pimento cheese was the better of the two, but both were yummy. Fun side note: The women's bathroom is huge. You could do a cartwheel in there. This is definitely a place to hang out before an event at the Fox. We left at 8:30, and our concert started promptly at 9. The P&P was a perfect find!

This place is locate in The Georgian Terrace Hotel. Well worth a visit. The bartenders are amazing with their service. Drinks are made to perfection

We definitely enjoyed our night at P & P before going to the show at the Fox Theatre! We ended up right back after the show as well!

Had dinner her on a Friday night. I enjoyed the prime rib sandwich and the Brooklyn Lager beer. It's in the basement of the Georgian Terrace Hotel.

I visited this pub for pre-show dinner and drinks before a play at the Fabulous Fox Theater. Me and my party arrived an hour and a half before the show. There were hardly any people in the restaurant. We got our drinks fairly quickly but they only had ONE server for the entire restaurant. Soon, the crowds arrived. All the tables were taken. It took an hour for her to return to our table - after requesting her return multiple times. There was some woman (manager) walking around like Secret Service with a mic and earpiece we hailed down to make the request. She didn’t seem to be doing much else than observing the room. We finally ordered. Our food arrived 10 minutes before we had to leave to make the play. I ordered “The” grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich was barely cooked. Some of the cheese wasn’t fully melted. Didn’t even taste good. It takes talent to mess up grilled cheese. Not worth $10. Not worth $5. I didn’t really have time to eat it anyway. It’s hard to believe there was only one server at a restaurant across the street from a prominent play house with a sold out show. There are too many other restaurant options in the area to tolerate something like this. Do not make my mistakes - go elsewhere.

Came in with some friends for drinks and dinner not wanting to walk around the area after dark. Limited menu, not enough wait staff. When we got our food - ordered the southern chicken biscuit - it was tasteless and didn't have much chicken.

This is a great find if you want casual food and drink before heading across the street to the Fox Theatre. The environment is easy-going, staff is friendly, the pretzels with cheese sauce are AWESOME! It was very busy the night we were there but we never felt rushed to let someone else have our table. They create good food out of a tiny kitchen -- perfect for eating with the vast variety of drinks available from the bar.

I found out about this place as I was going to a concert. It has a wonderful atmosphere and the whiskey was delicious!! Great food!!

We were staying at the hotel upstairs, so we thought we would go and enjoy a drink at the bar. My wife asked what the punch of the day was that they listed. The bartender replied "Aviation" and then walked away. OK, we wondered, what's in it, etc. Then my wife politely asked the lady if she could turn the TV to the UGA game (home state team) to which she replied "I'm an Auburn fan, that game is on the other TVs". We were quite surprised that a bartender would not be at least cooperative especially since it's not unusual to request to watch the home team and the game she had on was at halftime. So we got up and went to the corner to watch since she was not going to be helpful. Some of the other bar staff came over to watch so she must reign over them. This person certainly seemed like she did not want to be there, or be courteous to customers. It's too bad that a nice hotel (with friendly bar staff upstairs) would have someone like this working there.

I was excited to try Proof and Provision as some friends had recommended it. Our experience was horrible, as one of us never received her ordered meal. All the meals but one came out, and the last one was promised. Not a special order--a regular menu item. Those with meals tried to wait to begin until everyone was served, but were encouraged to go on and eat. One by one everyone at the table went to find out when the meal was coming, but to no avail. Finally we asked for a manager. This gentlemen arrived brandishing a cane with a large gold head on it. He was not in the least interested in our complaint, and offered no compensation. We had to leave as we had tickets at the Fox across the street. No one enjoyed the experience or the food, since one of us did without. The Georgian Terrace is a lovely old tradition in Atlanta, and I would expect more from one of its restaurants.

I am a little embarrased to admit how much time I/we spent at this cool, kind of underground, cellarish in warm, funky way establishment in a five day period. Traveling with a mixed bag group of Hurricane escapees, of people ranging in ages from 88 down to 2 will cause a Mom to drink. Not going to lie. As such, I tried several variations of Old Fashions, James' specialties, (the gifted crat cocktail genius) and on a few nights, some good wines. Dinner at the P and P is reasonably priced, especially considering that it is located in the nether region of the Georgian Terrace Hotel, a historic landmark in Atlanta. We had everything from the warm, rich, thick and cheesey French Onion Soup, to some cool, baked in a fire oven flatbread pizzas, to a cannot miss Prime Rib sandwich that had a smokey flavor you don't expect. We tried the chicken and waffle sliders, but since we don't have many chick fil a's near us, I liked their chicken breakfast biscuits better which I think these are kind of trying to emulate. This is an Atlanta secret that should not be missed.

This is a nice place to go with friends, its very relaxed, service was a little bit slow, but It was crowded. Just had cocktails, mixed crowd, we got there around midnight I was staying at the hotel, its located on the basement of the georgian terrace hotel. I think they close at 2.

Disappointing, Red phone booth is the best!decent bar and French onion soup is good! Drinks are fair, cool atmosphere but that’s it!

We stopped in for drinks and appetizers around 6:00. Bartender was not a welcoming or warm character. I asked for a particular signature cocktail on the menu. He said he couldn't make it because he didn't have the right bourbon, but would make something similar. (All around us are displays of bottles of the bourbon he says he doesn't have. Hmmmm.) Slooooow service. Boyfriend orders a cosmopolitan, which he says is good. My drink was okay. Another bartender appears and is very friendly. (Wish we had gotten him.) We are finishing our drinks (which took awhile to get) when our appetizers finally arrive. We value service and experience as much as the food & drink, thus the average rating.

While we waited for our Fox Theater show to begin across the street, we checked out the restaurant and bar on the main floor of the Georgian Terrace Hotel. These offered a little more than we were looking for to pass some time. Walking downstairs we found the P&P hidden away. It is a bar with food. The pretzels were fun (two pretzel sticks with great cheese dip for $5) and the four cheese french bread pizza was worth descending the stairs to find. Many good looking sandwiches and other flavor pizzas left the kitchen in a busy stream. Beer selection is limited, but mixed drinks were going as fast as the bar tender could make them! Portions were on the small side, especially for the price. Service was friendly, attentive and patient as we made our decisions slowly and paced our orders to fill our time as well as not overfill prior to the show. Our server, Urenna was superb and had a beautiful smile!

Wife & I went here for a drink and small app. after a Fox show before returning to our room at the Terrace. Great, modern place where all ages fit in. Great one of a kind drinks & creative small plates. Highly recommend!

The food was legit. The drinks were legit though a little pricey. There's a house punch if you're trying to get tipsy for cheap, but you need to be okay with holding a bright pink drink all night. The service was top notch. The atmosphere wants to be dive bar but it's just too nice and clean to pull it off and seems a little pretentious for the effort. If you want to eat good American food, drink stout cocktails, and talk about how reading Big Sur changed your life then this is your place. Also, there's a sweet shuffleboard with the perfect grit sand for competitive play.
Dinner
Try the shaved prime rib sandwich. Good place to go after a show at the Fox. The bourbon and coke was good too.
