I would give this 10 stars if I could. This is just special. Started with mozzarella; I'm told it's shipped directly from Italy. I don't know if that is true but I do know that this is the best mozzarella I have personal ever tasted. Melts in your mouth. Entrees at our table wee spaghetti, orecchiette, and rigatoni. All was perfect. The wine was paired....perfectly. Desserts, excellent, including limoncello! Ambience, beautiful. Service.....perfect. This was a first for my wife, my daughter, and I. Our friends are regulars. We will return as often as we get to Chicago to see our daughter.

What a beautiful atmosphere for a special holiday dinner! My husband and I enjoyed an outstanding meal with very attentive service. There were so many enticing menu items, it was nearly impossible to decide, and we were not disappointed with our selections. My burrata appetizer was delicious, and my husband's snails were fabulous, although very rich. His Tricolore salad of grilled radicchio, endive and fennel was less impressive, but our incredible entrees made up for the salad's shortcoming. The double pork chop was absolutely huge, but perfectly cooked and simply delicious. There was nothing simple about my orrechiette with truffle cream sauce. It was complex and extremely rich and delectable! I was thrilled with my decision to request a half order and, even still, I was only able to eat half of the half order. Everything we ordered was very large, so go hungry and order accordingly. American-size portions of well-prepared Italian specialties.

I have lived in Chicago for 30 years. In my opinion, this is the best value proposition in the city. Expect to pay $125-150 per couple, depending upon how much you spend on wine. Food, service and ambiance are all superb. My Favorites include the Avocado Salad, the Burrata salad, Spaghetti Fruit de Mare, Saltimbocca, Orecchiette con Salsicci. They also have a ½ off drinks Happy Hour before 6:00pm. Chef Mark Sparacino and his lovely Private dinning hostess Jennifer Shoop, make this an evening to remember. I've eaten here about 20 times and they are 20 for 20!

My disclaimer...I like Italian, but Italian food is one type I find tends to be very good, good or bad. I have found few Italian restaurants I would rate as Excellent...but this is one of them. Prosecco has a classy, beautiful atmosphere without being stuffy. Waitstaff was informative and excellent. They have a wide selection of wines to choose from (we had an excellent Brunello de Montalcino at the suggestion of the sommelier), and the food was outstanding. Fresh pastas with great flavors and sauces, good appetizers, and excellent meat dishes. All in our family (youngest was 16) agreed it was one of our best Italian meals. We will definitely return for great Italian.

I visited this restaurant while on business - we had a little area reserved so it was quiet and just for us (6 people) so we were able to have a conversation. The area was quite dark and they had a couple of candles on the table, which made it feel hot and the flickering of the candle was driving me crazy. The service was good, although quite slow so expect the food to take some time to come to your table. We had some appetizers and they were generous portions. We tried the plate with cheeses and cold cuts (AFFETTATI MISTI) and a plate with calamari and octopus (POLPETTI e CALAMARI ALLA GRIGLIATI) it was quite good. The main dish I ordered was salmon with lentils (SALMONE con LENTICCHIE e SPINACI ), it was ok, nothing great or to rave about. Overall it was a good experience, but nothing extraordinaire.

We visited this restaurant on a warm summer night. When we arrived, the place was buzzing inside and out. We chose this place on the basis of a review of its burrata. It was very good (both versions actually -- one with prosciutto and the other with peaches). Our mains were all very nice (risotto, a pasta with truffles, and the double pork chop). But the server just took the glow off of the meal. Every request seemed like an imposition. "Where are you from?" "We're from Canada." This was met with a disdainful look, as if we were hicks and knew nothing about Italian cuisine. Seriously Roberto?! Not acceptable. Your customers deserve better. So does the restaurant.

My wife and I get into downtown Chicago every 3-4 months for a weekend getaway. This has surfaced as our most favorite dining spot bar none. Always fun, always delicious, always great service. We've been in there a half a dozen times over past 3 years and it is always top notch.

Thoroughly enjoyed dining at Prosecco. Yes, we were there for two delightful hours but it was well worth it! The wait staff is great. Enjoyed the avocado salad and salmon. The rigatoni dish was the best!! Dessert was a thick creamy sweet tiramisu. Great wine list. Don't go if you are looking for a fast food experience- this gem deserves your time.

We visit Chicago to see our children. DD1 selected this restaurant based on reviews she read. None of us had ever been there nor did we have anything but the best expectations. It's a very pretty, plush room and the acoustics were good, even next to a large party. The waiter brought us small tastes of Prosecco, a lovely opening touch. Menus detailed traditional Italian food. In my years of dining out, I've come to depend on a few telltale signs of restaurant quality. They rarely fail me. First, is bread, which in most places precedes the food. When the bread is not good and there is an issue with the accompanying spread (butter, oil, whatever) it's never a good sign. This bread was cottony and not good quality, accompanied by eggplant spread (caponata) which, when properly done, has a tangy sweet and sour quality with a peppery after kick -- this spread was bland. Let me start by saying that we've lived in NYC and Italy so we are very familiar with Italian cooking from many regions and it's my husband's cuisine of choice. Italian food has never been special in Chicago but there are many good Italian restaurants. Prosecco doesn't happen to be one of them. Out of three appetizers, three main courses and one dessert only one dish even rose to the level of being described as acceptable. That was our daughter's mozzarella and tomato (Caprese) salad appetizer, which featured half-rounds of mozzarella with tomatoes with a balsamic drizzle underneath. It is August, tomatoes are in season and they have been fabulous this year. I can overlook that the tomatoes with the mozzarella were just OK. It's difficult to overlook tomato soup made from canned tomatoes in August. The soup, advertised as having black truffles, probably did contain canned black sterilized truffles -- or something that turned it the color of mud. It tasted horribly bitter and unpleasant and I wanted to send it back. My husband said no, he didn't want to make a fuss which I feel does the restaurant a disservice. Did the chef taste the soup? If so, it's tragic. My salad of oranges, shaved fennel and arugula had a vinaigrette without much flavor. A home cook could have made a better salad. All three main courses were a mess. My so-called saltimbocca (a fairly traditional Italian secondo) was a botched sauteed veal covered with melted mozzarella, canned tomato sauce and mashed potatoes. I won't even discuss the texture issue mashed potatoes presented on this plate. This wasn't Saltimbocca (which has no cheese or tomato sauce) nor was it even competent veal Parmesan which it more closely resembled. My husband's seared tuna was oddly pale and difficult to cut -- if it was tuna it was not the best grade. It was also cold at the center and plopped on top of about 6 green beans drizzled with more balsamic vinegar. Seared tuna is expected to be rare in the middle -- just not cold. If we wanted cold tuna, we'd go for sushi. Our daughter's orecchiette turned out to be a different shape -- lumache (snails) tossed with more canned tomatoes mixed with cream until dry -- $18. Ugh. Our daughter had read about the ricotta cheesecake and wanted to order it. That had a pleasant hint of orange but otherwise had the texture and flavor of packaged cream cheese. There's a lid for every pot. And this restaurant is busy. But it's expensive and there are better places to eat Italian food in Chicago -- unless you're looking for "Italian" food that's a flashback to 1978 -- it's exactly what was served back then when I lived there. Too bad. The location s cool and the service is competent. What it deserves is a better chef, one who can deliver what the menu promises and the price commands.

Prosecco's was a very nice gathering spot for a group of 11 on a business trip. As well, it is nice for a romantic date or family dinner - the place was filled with couples and families. The wait staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. The food is very tasty although my dish was a little heavy handed on the garlic. All in all, a very nice place to for a good dinner. Enjoy!!

The atmosphere, service, & food was great! My friends and I especially loved the complimentary glass of champagne.

This was our go-to place for a a romantic dinner, conversation with friends, a consistently good higher class restaurant. That has changed. No tablecloths, not much atmosphere...dark tables, long bar with dark red leather high chairs. But so noisy...between the music and the crowded bar next to your dining table, it’s sometimes really hard to hear any conversation. Our waitress was nice but very inexperienced. Guess I should have checked out the new format before I booked a special dinner. The food is good overall but forego the boring Caesar salad. Scallops, chicken all good. I am sad to lose this special place. It is now like every other noisy, dark furnitured place in town.

We were a party of 8 and dined at Prosecco last weekend. We did have to wait about 20 minutes for our table but that was not a big deal. Had a lovely table of 8. The food was very good. The appetizers were outstanding and the entrees were very good. The only issue we had, and we seem to have a lot, is the noise level. It is very hard to have a converstation with anyone at the table other than the person next to you. Most of the restaurants appear to be going the way of high ceilings, no insulation and poor acoustics. So I would say really good food, but not the place to have a conversation without yelling.

My wife and I live in the neighborhood and found this little gem just yesterday. Fantastic food and ambiance, and great service. One waiter caught a mistake in the food order coming out and made it right before we even caught it. We’ll be back!

This is a romantic, candle lit restaurant that serves delicious Italian food. You are greeted with a glass of prosecco when you are seated. Some of the dinner highlights were the avocado seafood salad served in the avocado half, the eggplant dish and the Bolognese. Perfect spot for date night or any celebration.

Really dimly lit restaurant! We had a large group of 10, but as we had reservations, they were ready for us. I had the rigatoni which was good, but nothing special. Two co-workers had the lamb which they both said was amazing. A lot of wine to choose from. Co-workers also commented on the avocado salad being really good. The service was kinda slow, but overall everybody enjoyed the meal.

We visited Prosecco for a celebratory dinner for 4 people. The dining room has an intimate feel even on a busy Saturday evening. The service was courteous, prompt and attentive without being over bearing. The food was fabulous from the special appetizers to the many pasta dishes. We brought our own wine and took advantage of their corkage service that helped keep the total cost down.

We had a group of 22 people booked for 8pm saturdaty night. They reduced the menu options for our group to ensure fast service. We arrived at 8pm. It took until 9pm to get a drink. It was 10:10pm when our appitizer FINALLY arrived. A few had roasted calamari - it was cold and rubbery! Our arugala salads arrived - the lettuce was wilted, no dressed and very very small. The entres were ok with a selection of steak pasta and fish. We finally for out of the restaurant about 12:30 with a $3,500 bill. THe bathroom was disgustingly dirty. The excuse they gave us for their terrible service was that the restaurant was full upstairs........ The waiter was very angry with his staff and kept yelling at them. All 22 of us have never had a worse experience!! It was absolutely TERRRIBLE and a ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!!!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!

Great food great service,Roberto was attentive and helpful. Sam Geatti , the sommelier was right on target for the wine choices. A fantastic birthday celebration!

This is a great Italian restaurant. The food was served by an attentive wait staff. They have a good wine list. The atmosphere was comfortable and friendly. My regret is I had to catch a plane and couldn't stay longer.

Been to this restaurant a few times and it never disappoints. Best fresh mozzarella I've ever had first off. They have great specials and their regular menu is just as good. Drinks were quite good along with their seasonal desserts to finish it off. Definitely worth a stop in.

I came here during restaurant week and they had 2 separate menus for it - one lower priced and a premier or you could order off their regular menu . The lower priced menu was $33 for 3 courses and a glass of wine ranged from $10-$16. Both of us ordered off the lower priced restaurant week menu and got a spring salad - this was very simple but flavorful, mushroom risotto - one of the best risottos I've had as it was perfectly cooked, and gelato for dessert. The gelato just tasted like regular chocolate ice cream and almost a little freezer burnt but I was so full from the risotto I wasn't hungry for dessert anyways. When you sit down you get a free glass of Prosecco which was a nice treat. The service was excellent from the hostess greeting you, to the waiter, busboys, etc. They have a free coat closet and offered to take our bags and whatever else we didn't want at the table, which was very nice. I will definitely be coming back here to try some other items on their menu.

Just passing through the neighborhood today and happened upon Prosecco. Great vibe! Good for a date, family or old friends. Service was just the right amount of neighborhood feels.

This was the third time I've been here. Upscale restaurant in a great part of the city. Beautiful restaurant, great service. The food is always spot on. The bread comes with an eggplant and raisin (maybe olives) spread that was very good. I had a lentil soup with pieces of Italian sausage, it was excellent. I had a chicken scallopini of sorts, chicken breasts in a lemony white wine sauce with spinach and mashed potatoes which was very tasty. Good value, I recommend you try it.

I visited with my family and I have to say, the service was outstanding. Everyone gets a prosecco sample before dinner. We had the burrata with fruit and a brandy reduction to start. It was outstanding. I had the double pork chop which was both good and massive. My husband had the pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage - he didn't think there was enough sausage, but then was happy about that since he wouldn't taste the sausage later. Everyone liked their dishes, I especially appreciate good service.

We were a party of 8 and had the BEST evening ever. Prosecco had our table ready at the time of our reservation, and we were seated in a private room. The service was smooth, well-timed, helpful and unintrusive; the cuisine, outstanding; the ambiance, warm and charming. Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. We'll certainly return the next time we visit Chicago.

We found this restaurant by accident. The concierge at the Palmer House recommended it. I was disappointed my wife selected it because we have eaten at so many outstanding Italian restaurants in Chicago over the years. I was in for a treat! I've pasted the entrees we ordered and the pricing. Some of the specials are just referred to by ingredient as I could not remember the Italian name they gave it.. Suffice to say, no one was disappointed. The paparadelle was in fact $89 for a full portion because it did have fresh shaved white truffles. But they provided a half order for $45. The atmosphere was awesome. The service outstanding. I do think their wine is a little pricey. Nothing under $45 and then like only 3 under $55. There should be some in the $30-$40 range. The food was simply unbelievable and I have eaten at a lot of Italian places in Chicago over the last 25 years. My favorite (and I tried all the entrees, appetizers and salads ordered at the table...see below) was the ORECCHIETTE TARTUFATE. Prosecco 710 North Wells Street Chicago, IL 60654 CARPACCIO di MANZO – $15 Marinated beef tenderloin, seared blue, arugula, Parmigiano- Reggiano, balsamic reduction AFFETTATI MISTI – $16 FOR 2 Sliced Italian meats and cheeses, imported olives, pickled vegetables MISTA – $6 Mixed salad, tomato, cucumber, red onion, carrots, red wine vinaigrette SALTIMBOCCA di VITELLO – $27 Scaloppine of veal, Prosciutto di Parma, fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, brandy and sage sauce caramelized onion mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach ORECCHIETTE TARTUFATE – $23 Fresh disc-shaped pasta, wild mushrooms, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, black truffle cream, shaved Grana Padano, white truffle oil Paparadelle, shaved Grana Padano, sliced white truffles-$45 Sliced ribeye served over arugula, lemon, shaved Grana Padano $39 Risotto with parmesan, braised short ribs

Whether you are trying to impress someone on a first date or you are celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary or a 79th birthday, you can't help but enjoy a fine dining experience at Prosecco. Located at 710 North Wells Street, at Huron, in the River North neighborhood, it is a classic, swanky, posh, ultra chic, high-end Italian ristorante that knocks your socks off with its romantic atmosphere. Opened in 2008 but newly renovated, Prosecco features an art-filled dining room with a Venetian flavor, a new 35-foot quartz bar, walk-in wine cellar and two new Murano glass chandeliers imported from Venice. And executive chef/partner Mark Sparacino has introduced a new menu. All that is missing are boats and water and gondoliers. Start with a splash of Prosecco, a white wine from the Veneto region of eastern Italy. My wife and I started with Caesar salad, cured Italian salumi with cheese, olives and vegetables and veal, pork and beef meatballs with tomato sauce and ricotta. For an entree, my wife chose one of her favorites, Saltimbocca of Veal, veal scaloppine with prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes and sauteed spinach. I adhered to my more fish/less meat diet by ordering sauteed Great Lakes whitefish with sauteed spinach and roasted fingerling potatoes. For dessert, we shared a slice of tiramisu (maybe the best in Chicago) and an apple tart with cinnamon gelato (which might be even better). At Prosecco, from the moment you walk in the door, you know you're in for a very special dining experience.

We ate here recently- this used to be one of our favorite Italian restaurants. Not sure what happened but service was ridiculously slow. We arrived at 7:15 and got our appetizers 30 minutes later but entrees arrived 1.5 hours after we arrived and we only ordered pasta. Music was obnoxiously loud it was hard to have a conversation. Food was good but not worth the wait. There are at least 10 other Italian restaurants in Chicago that would blow this place out of the water. Chairs were uncomfortable. Hate writing bad reviews but we will not be back.

We tried about everything from the carpaccio and crab cakes appetizers to the desserts and espresso. Everything we had was absolutely delicious.

They start you with a very tiny amount of a very good Prosecco as a toast. Frankly they could have been a bit more generous with the amount. Then the food was wonderful and the service excellent. The appetizer (some kind of a seafood salad was terrific. I had rack of lamb and my wife an eggplant dish. Both were outstanding. The dessert was an apple tart. It was very good.

Prosecco was recommended to us by a friend and we were not disappointed ! The service was absolutely spot on - both from Christian, our waiter and Bryan the bar tender ( Who really knows how to make cocktails !). Our food was some of the BEST Italian food we've had this year - anywhere ! The pasta is freshly made daily and was outstanding ! We will DEFINITELY be back !!!!

I greatly recommend this restaurant. The service is very friendly, the atmosphere is so nice and the food is delicious. A very nice place to have a wonderful dinner.

Was definitely expecting more given the menu prices. Very noisy and the Tables are too close together. the tri-colore salad was inedible.. It came grilled and looked nothing like any tricolore salad I had ever seen at any Italian restaurant. Just 2 nitpicks.. And only because of the high prices.. Food was "auctioned" when it arrived at the table (as in "who had the risotto?") and we had a drink at the bar first and no offer to have our drinks brought/carried to the table for us.. Again, minor nitpicks, but that is what separates the average from the excellent when you go to a $$$ restaurant. other than that, the meals were good.. The waitstaff attentive... I would go back if a group wanted to go there.. But i probably would not seek it out on my own again.

We went there with our big group in a dining room, and we had a special course. We had excellent Sliced italian ham & cheese, Salad Caprese, crab cakes and some more antipasto a, grilled salmon or full lack of lamb! They were delicious! Service very attentive and dishes with Italian touched American dishes. very tasteful. We all love all. I think this Italian touch in both service and food make an evening very passionately special. Wr had a great time!

Suggested Prosecco to a group of colleagues for dinner while in Chicago for a trade show. Everyone LOVED their dinner but what really made the evening wonderful was the fabulous service. Our waiter Sam was a blast. The chef came to our table. Everything was perfect. Go to Prosecco and ask for Sam. You'll be glad you did.

Very predictable Italian eatery.. We came to Chicago evaluating some diner options for a company meeting.. this restaurant came listed as a good option.. so we try it. First, as soon as you are seated you are given the “house rules” .. I was never told I have 90 minutes to eat an run and also you must quickly become an artist in the management of the face mask.. since you are required yo use it every time you interact with the employees.. it was actually very funny.. kind of a comedy night for us 😂😂 Food was very predictable.. no bad but nothing special.. place is loud.. very loud! They should just increase prices and provide clients with a better overall experience.. At the end we were so concerned to comply with the rules we ate what we ordered really quickly and left for after dinner drinks somewhere else. Employees were kind doing their best under the conditions.. Cannot recommend it..

There is nothing that I could find fault with at Prosecco. The food was excellent, the wine list superb and the servers were friendly and helpful.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by an incredibly friendly host that makes you feel welcome like a regular. The ambiance is cozy, dim lighting, comfortable. Food is outstanding-homemade pasta, sauces-all feel as authentic as being in an Italian village. I love the ability to do 1/2 portions of pasta in case you want to have as a pasta course or go nuts and try two pastas! My husband tried the seared tuna-which might have been the best we have ever had. A special note that our server David was top notch, 5 star service. Attentive, helpful-a pleasure to chat with. Incredible all around-authentic in every way.

We make it a point to eat here every time we come to Chicago. The food and service are both excellent. If I were to say one thing that wasn't positive, it would be that it is noisy. Some of this is simply because the place is always crowded. If there was a way to improve the acoustics, it would be wonderful. We usually eat with two other couples and sit in a really nice private room which is much more peaceful. If we ended up in the main dining area, I'm not sure I would enjoy the experience as much. Our waiter was wonderful. He helped make the fine meal a real pleasure.

Ate with a group and everyone raved about the excellence of the starters and entrees. The deserts, not as spectacular as the other fare, were pretty decent. The wine list offered many well priced offerings to match the food and the service was absolutely wonderful. The decor is upscale without being overbearing and the table cloths are appreciated. Some of the new restaurants in town seem to be eliminating table cloths.

Amazing Italian restaurant! We had a group of 14 and everything went off perfectly. The pasta speciality of the house with mushroom and black truffles is a standout. I would say one of the best dishes I have ever had. After the appetizers, salad, soup, etc. there was no room for dessert. We will have to return, skip the bland soup to hold out for the sweet ending. Go here, you will be happy. (wines aplenty!)

My family was visiting Chicago and we wanted a special event. Staff was friendly and accomodating. We took an elevator to the 2nd floor and the ambiance was lovely - old fashioned lamps, drapes, paintings but all with a modern feel. As people got settled, we were each given a glass of tasty Prosecco. My husband is usually suspicious of staff recommendations. In this case, each of our waiter's suggestions that we tried were delicious. Food was presented well and tasty including appetizers, entrees, dessert and wine. It was more expensive than we ususally spend but definitely a treat that was well worth it.

Our dinner was delicious! Good Italian, perfectly cooked, superior flavors. BUT, the winner of the night was the Avocado Salad. It's a must! It's half an avocado in its shell, and the taste is incredible! Yes, a glass of Prosecco is always a welcome start!

Celebrated our anniversary with a lovely dinner at Prosecco. Started off with one of the evening's specials (Burrata with Fresh Peaches) -- well executed and flavorful - not a combination I would have considered, but it worked very well. My wife and I then split an order of Tagliatelle Bolognese, which was also done very well. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was excellent. My only complaint about this dish is that, for my taste, I would have preferred a higher ratio of pasta to sauce. I felt that there was too much sauce for the amount of pasta. Don't get me wrong, the plate was practically licked clean, but more pasta or less sauce (preferably more pasta, obviously!) would have knocked it out of the park for me. For an entree, my wife had the Veal Saltimbocca, and I had the rack of lamb. Both dishes were excellent, but I would probably not get the rack of lamb again. Even though it was cooked rare, I felt as though it was still a little too tough for my liking. Beyond that, the presentation was a little too simple (served over a small bed of sauteed spinach) vs. the saltimbocca presentation, which had both spinach and some garlic mashed potatoes. Finished off the meal by splitting the apple tart with cinnamon gelato followed by an espresso. The dessert portion was small, but after that big of a meal, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. So here's my breakdown: Food: 4 out of 5 - Tough lamb and slightly off (for my tastes) ratio for the pasta dish brings it down one notch. Service: 4 out of 5 - the waiter (Sam) was excellent (5/5), but the support staff brought it down a notch... I was asked 3 times (by the same gentleman) if I wanted my espresso (after clearly indicating I would have it AFTER the dessert was finished). Value: 3 out of 5 - this place is not cheap. 1 Appetizer, 1 'primo', 2 entrees, 1 dessert (comped because it was our anniversary), 1 espresso, and 2 glasses of wine - $167. Add gratuity and $12 for the valet and you're at $100+ per person. Granted, it was a larger-than-typical meal, but even for the quantity, it's still steep. And one would think that with the mark-up on some of their items (e.g., $4.00 for 1 espresso), they could afford to make the valet complimentary. Atmosphere: 5 out of 5. We sat in the front portion of the restaurant, and it was lovely. Their website is accurate in the description that suggests the room is very reminiscent of Venice. Also, the noise level was good.. Not too loud that you can't have a conversation, but not too quiet that you feel awkward having a conversation! Romance : 5 out of 5. Good food, good atmosphere, excellent date - it was very romantic. Special Occasions: 5 out of 5. At this price point, I would suggest that Prosecco be reserved for special occasions only, so it gets top score for that category.

First, our waiter, Gael, was charming. He suggested several great dishes and he served our food with expertise. We split many dishes between four of us, and Gael split up the dishes and served each person individually. The food was excellent. The meatball appetizer is one of the best meatballs I’ve had in the city of Chicago. We has a special burrata cheese and fresh peach appetizer. The ribeye was sliced and was cooked to perfection. The Bronzino was loaded with flavor and a generous portion. The Bolognese pasta was cooked to perfection and the fingerling potatoes were crispy and amazing.

Very high quality and imaginative cuisine. Very authentic. Wine list varied with excellent selections. Staff highly motivated well trained and extremely attentive. Appetizers and entries very high quality timely and delicious. Only negative was it was very loud.

We walked from the Hancock Center to the restaurant it was quite a walk but it was worth it. The restaurant is very cozy and the staff very nice. We had a good dinner and recommend this place if you want nice Italian dinner with nice ambiance.

Very old style white table cloth high end Italian in River North. Six Barolos, when most places have two, Prime beef, outstanding seafood soup. Everything was terrific. The Saltimbocca was not traditionally prepared, but it was excellent nonetheless. Pastas were just right, if sinfully rich. Staff are pros, although perhaps a bit forward for the midwest. But no complaints. This is not trendy or bright. Conversational voices easily heard at the table. A lovely meal.

I'll keep it short.....opened with customized specials menu with my wife's name on it (it was her birthday). Add a touch of prosecco to open. Almost 3 hours later, we walked out, having sampled grappa and limincello with the manager. In between, our server, Christian, assisted us with wine and food selections. The wild boar tagliatelle was fantastic. The Orrechetti was delicious, but need more sun dried tomatoes and is very rich. Dessert of cappucino gelato was a super tasty finisher.

Although we have eaten here previously, our recent dinner was exceptionable. Our waiter was most helpful, the food wonderful. We love the atmosphere, it reminded us of so many intimate and sophisticated restaurants in New York, with paintings on the walls, and quiet enough to have conversations without having to scream to be heard, as you do in most Chicago restaurants. This is a real find for anyone who enjoys a classy Italian restaurant in a great location.

This was our second visit to Prosecco. We had a large group and were pleasantly surprised that we had been given a beautiful and cozy semi-private space. The service was excellent as was the food. The restaurant week menu was wonderful. Any place that is friendly and accommodating to kids while upholding a high standard of service and did scores extra points with me. We will definitely visit again soon!

We have lunch and the food was on point. The bread and appetizer was calamari. The favor and taste was good to the palate. The eggplant was done with tomato sauce season very well. Jessie have the salmon with a bed spinach and beans. I did not eat his meal. The meal look great. The apple tart for dessert with gelato top it off.

Prosecco seems to have lost its energy. Slow service( albeit good waiter), lukewarm spaghetti and a general lack of energy. We won't go back.

We found this restaurant in a magazine in our hotel and decided to try it. We we so glad we did. From the appetizer on we were delighted. Risotto with black truffles, rack of lamb and skate wing. All great. This was one of the most delicious meals we have had and ranks at the top for us.

We've been going to Prosecco for about two years and the food is consistently outstanding and relatively reasonable in a city where frou frou chefs get more coverage. Very nice atmosphere, attentive service ,but on a visit last week the service was uncharacteristically rushed and a little annoying, but the food preparation was excellent. And, unlike so many elite restaurants, the portions are actually large to be considered a mea.

Having dined at Prosecco before, we knew it was the perfect location for a romantic engagement to take place in their candle lit private room. The fantastic staff worked with us down to the smallest detail to facilitate a total surprise for our soon to be daughter in law. Our excellent waiter, David, Sam the floor manager and every staffer there were giddy with excitement. The food was the BEST I have had since my last trip to Italy. Simply amazing. Where do they get delicious tomatoes in the middle of January, the creamiest mozzarella this side of the Atlantic, steak which will melt in your mouth? David made the wine selection for us and it was spot on! Prosecco nailed every detail and exceeded our expectations. Whether you are dining out or hosting a special event, put this AMAZING place at the top of your list.

We were in from out of town and came here on a Saturday night. I made reservations on-line due to them offering al fresco dining. However, it was too cold so we stayed indoors. My husband got the HUGE pork chop and the waiter indicated it would take 25 min. to make and he recommended medium. It was excellent and was tender. I got a pasta dish and it was good. The acorn squash soup was rich and we split it since it only came in bowl size. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. One thing the authentic Italian waiter spoke broken English in a energetic atmosphere so it was difficult for us to understand him at times. Probably needs to slow down a bit.

So a few folks on the overly relaxed side, most people biz casual or higher (which is the appropriate dress for a restaurant like this) yet everyone was treated wonderfully and the same. Great atmosphere, awesome bar staff. Took special occasions into account. The wait staff was a little mixed of comfortable pro to trying a touch (yet obvious) too hard. Meal was excellent, service was excellent, Italian (from Italy) Sommolier was fantastic. Dessert was special and not overdone nor over portioned. Go, now, make a reservation and a memory. We're going back!!!

I've been to Prosecco several times for both business and pleasure. Chef Mark knows how to cook and he enjoys getting to know the locals. No dish is better than the others - they are all fantastic. If you are looking to do a private dinner, their space in the basement is really awesome for private dining.

We enjoyed an early dinner in Prosecco while being in Chicago, following the good reviews it has. They are definitely right! They have some tables on the sidewalk right in front of the restaurant, where we seated to enjoy a delightful summer afternoon. You get a welcome prosecco (the champagne italian version) when you arrive. Lots of wines to choose from their wine list and had a chance to try two amazing pastas. My favorite, Orecchiete Tartufate... it was delicious! Also try their gelato! So good!

We recently visited Prosecco for a dinner, while we had heard it was good we were very pleased with the experience. We were greeted at our table with a wonderful toast with Prosecco and were treated to a wonderful meal. Our waiter made the evening even better, while he was busy we never felt as if we weren't the most important customers he had.

We celebrated our son's college graduation at Prosecco's with our closest friends. Our son selected Prosecco's based on a friend's recommendation. It was a great choice. The hostess greeted us and immediately congratulated our son. We were a party of 8 and were seated in a great spot. Our server, Sam, was terrific. Affable and knowledgable. He, too, congratulated our son. For the most part, the food was exceptional. Each of us enjoyed the appetizer or salad that we ordered. Six of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. Unfortunately, two of us who ordered fish found their fish to be over-cooked. Three of us had the scallops that we found to be the best we ever had. One of us had the Risotto special, which included beef tenderloin. It was spectacular. Our advice: ask your server for his recommendations, and then follow his advice. Based on our experience, you won't regret it.

Had dinner with friends at this wonderful spot!! The service and food were exceptional and the restaurant itself is quite swanky!! I’m sure you will enjoy this spot!!

Quiet, attentive, Venetian themed it would appear. Good waiter, excellent dinner. Veal Saltimboca for me and fish for her. Will surely return.

I enjoyed dinner here with a group of friends during Chicago Restaurant week. We elected the prix fixe menu which included an amazing burrata cheese appetizer, salmon fillet and chocolate cake dessert. The wine selection was ample and we toasted our glasses many times that evening (the owner also joined us for a toast). The atmosphere is cozy but elegant with an old world Italian look and feel. Great spot for an intimate dinner with friends or with your significant other.

Prosecco is a gem! I took a couple clients here during a conference. The food was as exquisite as the staff was superb! From the friendly greeting by the restaurant manager to the opportunity to meet the lovely owners, it exceeded my expectations, which were already high going in. The squash blossom appetizer was out of this world, and the perfectly prepared pastas burst with flavor and the veal was amazing. They fly key ingredients in directly from Italy twice per week - and it shows. We topped the evening with the best limoncello in Chicago followed by an out-of-this world butter cake and flourless cake. I can't say enough about the pride this family has in their restaurant - and it shows in the wonderful dining experience, atmosphere and quality of food. Molto bene!!!!

We chose Prosecco for a special occasion dinner at the advice of a friend and were very glad we did. First the restaurant called to confirm our reservation and asked if it was a special occasion. We were warmly greeted on arrival, seated at a great table and welcomed with a glass of prosecco. The restaurant itself is elegant and quiet. The food was wonderful and the service terrific. My husband is a picky eater - one who sends things back if they aren't cooked properly - but everything was perfect. The burrata appetizer was excellent. The tartufatte pasta very rich, and both main courses very well done. I am surprised the restaurant wasn't more crowded but we were happy to have a wonderful meal in a lovely spot. Whenever we are in Chicago, Prosecco will now always be a stop.

Ahhhh Prosecco! Malto Benny! Greeted at your table with a complementary glass of Prosecco. The pasta is absolutely to die for and the wine list is unbelievable, and it covers the entire price spectrum. We never miss Prosecco when we vidit Chicago.

Stumbled on this place becauseThe Boarding Hous was closed to a private function. What a lucky find. Nice ambience. Very friendly and informative maitre d' guided us towards some lovely wines. The Italian Kerner was wonderful. Great starters and mains. Too stuffed to manage desserts. Recommended

The atmosphere is great. Service was wonderful. The apps we got was nice. I ordered the veal which was not great (overcooked, missing flavor, etc). However, other people in my party loved their meals. So, I would recommend going, and just avoiding the veal option!

This place has some of the best Italian Food in Chicago... I would suggest this place to anyone...I WILL be returning.

Trust the waiters that recommend the favorite dishes. They were amazing! Great wine list too. We had no room for dessert, but that's a good thing. Creative, tasty delish food. Patio seating very nice as well...street traffic was not distracting!

Great food, excellent service & ambiance-favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago. Stefania, Mark, Jennifer, Sam & their entire team are awesome. Love sitting at the bar and awesome private room for events. Upgraded interior now too and looks amazing inside, highly recommend! Awesome service by: Kevin, Bobbi, Alex, Jack, David, Tony and Tiffany Favorite Dishes: crab cakes, Old fashioneds, gnocchi is amazing, my favorite in the city! Halibut and salmon (get spicy, Mark’s way), Scallops, apple tart with cinnamon gelato (delicious), avocado salad with lobster, sorbet, Primitivo wine, Squire cocktail

Delicious little Italian trattoria. One of my go-to's for years. Excellent service, nice wine list. Feel like I'm transported back to Italy.

We celebrated the wedding of my sister with a family dinner at this restaurant. We were well looked after and they amended a few dishes to suit vegetarians too. The portions were large and the place generally classy. We bumped into the chef on our way out who was friendly. I'd go back any day. The pistachio ice cream was better than the tiramisu, if you'd like to order dessert.

We have been to Chicago many many times-always try new places to eat. This was by far the best meal we have ever had maybe anywhere!!! The meals were portioned so that we were able to experience the flavor explosion with each item and each bite! Incredible!! Atmosphere is classy elegance. Staff if attentive and friendly. We like to try new places when we travel, but we will make an exception for prosecco!

We dined at Prosecco after a recommendation from a bartender. This was our first visit but will not be out last. My wife have risotto with shrimp which she felt was the best risotto she had ever had. I had the veal which was outstanding. The service was excellent as was the wine

There was a little bobble up front (they had no record of our reservation, despite the confirmatory phone call and email that we had received), but they seated us right away, so no harm done. As other reviewers have pointed out, the tables are very close together, and you have to hope that the diners on either side of you use their indoor voices. The food was very, very good - I would describe it as authentic Italian food, but with lots of nice updates. My husband enjoyed the duck carpaccio and the crabmeat risotto, and I really enjoyed the caprese salad and beef filet. Our server, Brian, was delightful. The wine was outstanding. I will definitely eat there again.

Very good food. Prompt service. The short rib & risotto was delicious. The only negatives was the manager/ chief was yelling at and demeaning his staff in front of everyone which was not pleasant to witness. And the salmon was very very fishy smelling. We did not eat it but every time someone in the restaurant did you could smell it.

My husband took me to Prosecco for a special date and it was amazing. The atmosphere of the restaurant is classy, the service very friendly, and the food incredible. I had a truffle pasta that I ordered was probably one of the best pasta dishes that I have ever eaten. It was a hefty bill but the perfect spot for a special night out. They even gave us a complimentary glass of Prosecco.

Just spent my 15 year Anniversary at Prosecco. I've been there before and I will be for sure going back. I still feel it is my favorite restaurant in Chicago. If you haven't gone you NEED TO!! Enjoyed it with my wife of 15 years and her Parents (I invited) They had never been and they raved about it when they left saying they have a new place now to take their group of friends. Kathryn has always looked great and been fantastic to us. And we ALWAYS request GAETANO as our server. He's is like part of the family. Always attentive and takes the time to chat as well. Mark is a spot on Chef who comes out from the back and says hello and greets people when he has the time. But it seems they always are busy. Again I would RECOMMEND going at least once if not all the time. I thank Kathryn and the Group for a fantastic Anniversary. CIAO

We called for reservations and were able to get a table in the back dining room. Great atmosphere & great smells coming from the kitchen. Each guest is greeted with a glass of prosecco! Dinner included appetizers (see photo), lemon crusted chicken & scallops. Attention was given to us while dining. The chef came to the table to ask about our meals. Loved the chicken!!

Throughly enjoyed the experience. Service was great. Very pleasant and well informed with great descriptions and wine suggestions. Had the Veal Saltimbocco. One of the best veal dishes I can remember. My business colleague had the Avocado salad and the eggplant lasagna, both of which he loved. Very surprised as some of the poor reviews but all seemed to be for large or very large groups. Am already making plans to go back on my next trip to Chicago.

My wife and I were In Cortina Italy traveling and in this small town we came across a hidden gem of a wine bar. We went there a few times got to know the owner (Francesco) He recommended Prosecco and that his friends owned it. My advice is if your in Italy and they are recommending an Italian eatery in the states GO. When we got back. My wife and I went at Francesco advice. It was FANTASTIC. The food the ambiance the staff. I could go on! Just go and taste for yourself. I would recommend a reservation and go a little early and have a drink at the bar. We met the owners and mentioned our story and they couldn't believe it!! It brought back memories for them. It's our new home away from Italy. CIAO

My wife and I ate here the Monday night after Easter. The service was terrific. Our waiter Samuele was very knowledgeable, very attentive and very gracious. He made the evening really special. I had the lamb, which was terrific. My wife had Orichette with black truffle cream sauce. She said it was divine. The atmosphere in the restaurant is perfectly suited for a romantic evening. It's a deep narrow restaurant with a lot of tables along the walls, which adds to a feeling of intimacy. We were actually celebrating having been married in Italy 7 years ago and the atmosphere was very reminiscent of restaurants in Italy.

The food was wonderful. The service was great. We went early (6pm) so it wasn't busy yet and easy to talk and enjoy the wine and food. I'd go again in a heartbeat. I had the pork chop. Split it!!

greeted by a personable, very attractive and friendly receptionist, we were seated but requested a table where we could sit side by side. Wine director,Sam Geatti gladly obliged us saying "I hope that's the most difficult thing I have to do tonight!" Our server Aldo poured us the usual complimentary half glass of prosecco. My wife wound up drinking 2 more! "Look, you're coming back in October, why not enjoy some of the summer specials?" So: we started with buratta with spring peas, light and refreshing. Followed with pasta with salmon in a light cream sauce - perfect for carb loading for the next day's half marathon. All washed down with a quite reasonably priced sangiovese/nebbiollo blend. Can't wait to return for the October 26.2 mile full marathon carb loading!

Business dinner, party of 8. There is character in the room. A good place for conversation. Service is polite and helpful. Speed is not a forte of this crew. Plan on a two hour plus dinner. Avocado salad was nice. The squid starter was weak. Pasta dinner was fair. Desert was good but it will not move into long term memory. Overall an average dinner experience. If you only have a few nights in this fantastic city, you can most likely do better.

Wonderful, luxurious place, without being stuffy. Welcoming owner and knowledgeable, friendly waiters. Delish!

Went to this restaurant on the advice of the bartender at the Godfrey Hotel. I was in Chicago on business and this was a nice quiet restaurant. Brian was the server that evening and recommended the scallops. They were to die for. All in all great food and great service. I will definitely return the next time I am in town.

We came from the UK for a 60th Birthday celebration 10 of us altogether they made us feel really special it was amazing they treated us to a private dinning room with our own waiter who was amazing and knew all about the foods wines. Was just so special.

We typically go as a couple or with guests and decided to book a conference evening. This event was dinner for 60, and it was really a delight: carefully prepared and served. Choice of fabulous cauliflower soup or salad, intriguing shared pasta course, selection from 4 memorable entrees and 3 decadent desserts. Nothing at all like the typical conference banquet.

So glad I took a referral from a friend to try this place! The food was amazing and loved the ambiance. Our server was fantastic and we took all his recommendations which were spot on. Love the extra special touch of the prosecco as you view the menu. They had an excellent menu with so many wonderful choices. We started with the Burrata that was to die for! Upon our waiters suggestion we shared the ORECCHIETTE TARTUFATE and the filet dish.... what an amazing combo with a great bottle of wine from the Ferragamo family vineyards. We also enjoyed a glass of limoncello to end the evening. Everything we had was fab.... we will be back very soon!!!

This restaurant is really gorgeous with great lighting and lovely high ceilings. A few of the dishes are a bit heavy (orchiette), and they need better quality bread, but some of the dishes are excellent - white truffle ravioli, risotto, watercress salad, crab cakes. Staff is very nice.

Have eaten here a number of times since its opening. Initially it was very good. The last couple of times were disappointing. The restaurant has attractive indoor and outdoor space and a large bar popular for dining and drinking. The premises draws a substantial crowd. My recent dinner included a lobster bisque soup which was greatly over salted and a scallop entre which was not very tasty, hard on the edges and too soft in the middle.

While visiting Chicago we were invited to dine with dear friends. They suggested we meet at Prosecco, in Old Town. It's a restaurant that we'd never heard of, and knew nothing about. It proved to be a most memorable evening, memorable because the food we enjoyed was something we'll never forget. Suffice it to say that the cuisine was outstanding, the presentation superb, and the flavors like the most intoxicating of nectars. We will absolutely return to this restaurant when next in Chicago.

We visited for lunch, ordering from the Restaurant Week fixed price menu and had a very enjoyable meal. When we sat down, the server immediately brought two small complementary glasses of prosecco to welcome us -- something we did not expect. We started with the soup of the day, which was a creamy butternut squash with crispy pancetta. We were surprised when we were served a full bowl, since often Restaurant Week soup servings are cup-sized. The soup was really good, but we only ate about half to leave room for the rest of the meal. Next we had the Rigatoni alla Norcina and the Pollo al Limone. The rigatoni was an appropriately-sized lunch serving with pancetta, Italian sausage and a creamy tomato sauce. The chicken was two thinly sliced scallopini in a lemon, white wine and caper sauce, served with sauteed spinach. Both dishes were very good. There was a bit of a mix-up with the main course service -- a second server brought our dishes to the table and realized that instead of the chicken dish, he'd brought out veal Saltimbocca which had been ordered by someone else. He immediately took the dish back to the kitchen while the server who had taken our order came by to apologize and give us another glass of Prosecco. After a few minutes, as the kitchen prepared the missing dish, the replacement chicken dish arrived. We thought that both servers handled the mix-up very well. For dessert we had mango sorbetto and burnt caramel ice cream, both of which were delicious. Despite the small glitch with the chicken dish, we thought the whole meal was very good as was the service. We plan to go back to Prosecco to try some of their other dishes.

Wanted to share a wonderful experience at Prosecco. We had theater tickets, so had early dinner reservations at the restaurant. The staff was very attentive to our time constraints. In particular, our server...David...was excellent. He was the epitome of what a server/waiter should be in a high-end establishment. He knew when to engage and when to back-off. His recommendations and knowledge of wine were excellent. All four of us had different dishes and all were outstanding. In a city like Chicago, restaurants must be good or they don't last. I'm guessing Prosecco will be around a long, long time.

stopped for lunch, and had some pretty good Gnocchi, and Ziti. This was some of the best Gnocchi and average ziti pasta. But overall some pretty darn good italian food.

I had a pasta with crumbled Italian sausage. They give everyone a splash of Prosseco. Service was ok and ambiance is nice. I had the apple tart with vanilla ice cream... yum!

Hit this spot up on a Sunday for supper. Excellent spot. Very cozy and clean. The server was currently in his first week on the job and he knew the menu from top to bottom. You can tell the owner puts a lot of time and training into their staff. Food was amazing. Try it. You will love it

I tried this restaurant with another couple for an anniversary celebration. The food and ambiance were excellent. The only draw back was our waiter who keep trying to up sell everything. He seemed disappointed that we did not order a bottle of wine. We had 3 glasses of wine and a beer. He pushed us to order more appetizers and became cold and inattentive when we did not take his suggestion. The bill was over $200 without dessert so it wasn't like we were not spending money. His attitude was the only disappointment of the evening. Otherwise , this is a very nice restaurant with great food.

We were seated right away with a reservation. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. The food was simply incredible. I had the gnocchi which was not only fabulous and hot; the portion was large enough for leftover lunch the next day. A very romantic spot and lively as well. Perfect. Can't wait to return.

We had asked a waiter at another restaurant for a recommendation for the following evening and he told us we had to go to Prosecco. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 5 ladies from NYC could have not have been happier. We were shown to a private gem of a dining room, where our waiter Greg was attentive, knowledgeable and charming. We sampled the burrata and the avocado to start, the Orecchiette Tartufate and the Escolar special. The food, service and ambiance were all first rate , making for a perfect evening in Chicago!

After reading the reviews, we expected a fabulous meal at Prosecco. Dinner was good, but barely better than average in our opinion. The hostesses were very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter, eh. We were seated less than 2 minutes when he asked if we were ready to order. He wasn't unfriendly, but certainly added nothing to the evening. The appetizers were good, not great. The burrata was delicious, but the accompanying plums were as hard as rocks. The pasta special was average at best and the tuna entree, requested rare, was overcooked.. The flourless chocolate cake for dessert was heavy and borderline dry. We will not return as there are so many great restaurants in Chicago.

Enjoyable evening. Service was very good all evening. Food was a solid four stars but not exceptional or inspiring enough for five. Our table was in a somewhat high traffic area so a little noisy and crowded but not to the point that we couldn't enjoy our meal. Wine list was solid and reasonably priced. We would return again.

I dropped in to familiarize myself with the menu since it had been so long since I had dined here. Low lit space, very attentive and friendly staff from the moment I walked in. We had several dishes and everything was impressive. From the mixed meatballs, the pastas, the fish and desserts. Impressive from start to finish. It was quiet and the staff was very accommodating. I am excited to go back and try some more selections from their menu.

The first impression is the restaurant decor which is very inviting. Our greeting at the door was welcoming and inviting. Our table was close to the entrance and bar and started out noisey but music was turned down and we were able to have a conversation. Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. I have provided photos of our appetizers and entrees which were good not exceptional.

This restaurant came highly recommended and I was very excited to try it. Things started off very well as we were immediately offered a glass of Prosecco but things went downhill quickly. The first problem we had was something I would not have expected in a nice Italian restaurant—they did not use olive oil but a blend of olive oil and SOY oil. My dinner companion has a severe soy allergy and was asking what was available. We found out that virtually nothing without soy was available. When my dinner companion ordered an avocado/lobster salad, it could not be made without soy oil as the lobster had already had been brushed with the soy oil blend. We were served bread with a bit of flavorless relish and when we asked for plain olive oil to dip the bread in, we were given a bottle of oil but were later told (too late) that it too was a blend. Turns out the flavorless relish was made with soy oil too. Maybe it is very common for Italian restaurants to use soy in all of their dishes but I prefer olive oil. Also, we found out there were no vegan options. For those who need to eat gluten free, gluten free pasta was available. The waiter kept us informed and tried to figure out ways to provide something without soy but we just didn’t have many choices. I can’t imagine we were the first customers to come in with someone in our party allergic to soy but it seemed as if we were. Once we were able to figure out something to eat, we thought it was good enough but not good enough to return.

Great atmosphere. Attended with a group so did not get to check out the entire place but I intend to return.

Dinner for three was quite tasty. They offer a sparking wine welcome and the food was quite good. The range of Italian specialties was solid and well prepped. I especially recommend the saltimboca.

Loved this restaurant. Food was outstanding and so was the service. Great seating indoors as well as outdoors. Owner even came over to our table to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. Business colleagues originally from Italy and Portugal recommended it as very authentic and it certainly was that. Definitely plan to come again my next trip to Chicago.

An amazing dinner last Friday evening with friends at Prosecco. All of the appetizers and entrees were outstanding. Our server, Christian, was excellent. His knowledge of the menu and the suggestions he made were spot on. Even more impressive was his command of Italian wines, which is no easy feat. All other staff members were also very professional, polite, and attentive. We will definitely be back!

I love Italian food and have eaten at many Italian restaurants downtown but I must admit that Prosecco is truly a step above those O have been to. The owners are a team to behold the food selection and taste are amazing. And the staff Brovo Eat drink and enjoy.

I graduated from my university and my father decided to celebrate at Prosecco. We all dressed up, we had a limo take us there on the hotel for my graduation and once we arrived the table was ready. I was so happy and starving! Thy start you off with some Prosecco (which was great) and the manager came to congratulate me. Everything was perfect until it took 30 MINUTES for them to get our drinking order and then another 15 MINUTES to bring bread and another 15 MINUTES for them to ask for our food order. I know that talking is the best part of the dinner experience but not if you don't even have water or bread on the table. My food was great but my sisters Gorgonzola was dry and way too strong of a taste. The table next to us came and left while they never took our order. Food is good but service terrible.

Love, love, love Prosecco! We had dinner at Prosecco last month with our daughter and some close friends. It was our first time dining there. Everything was perfect. The complimentary glass of prosecco was a lovely starter. The service is spot-on and the food was wonderful. Like a previous reviewer, I also had the burrata and peach appetizer - very good. We also had the crab cakes and they were amazing. My daughter had the avocado and lobster salad. I will order it next time - it was to die for. But my entree was the prize - the lamb chops. They were so delicious - I think they were the best lamb chops I have ever had. We finished with a selection of 3 or 4 desserts and shared them. I can't recall what they were - but I do recall how I felt - happy and satisfied. A great evening at a charming restaurant. We plan to go back during the holidays.

We eat here with friends every time we come to Chicago. We are never disappointed. Every course was delicious and a little different than anyplace else. This time the service wasn't quite as good as it has been in previous visits, but it wasn't bad.

Everything was wonderful. The food, the service, the feel, and the other patrons....all excellent. This was our first trip to this restaurant. It was highly recommended by our concierge and certainly did not disappoint.

We thoroughly enjoyed this elegant dining experience. The interior is reminiscent of NYC's narrow but deep establishments. The waiter was extremely knowledgable about the wine selections and he checked back with us regularly without overdoing it. The rigatoni Norcina was pasta with creamy tomato sauce was light and delicious. The pistachio gelato went very well with the strong, fresh coffee. What a great find!

Who doesn't love champagne? Our group of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Prosecco. Out on a Thursday, the restaurant, though small, was full. Our server was animated and obviously passionate about his job and the authentic Italian food. He started us with a glass of Prosecco on the house (common practice for all guests I assume) and then took the time to explain menu items down to every last detail. Appetizer and salad portions were "small" by common comparison but it allowed us to order multiple items to share and try between our group. Our sever explained we could even order 1/2 sizes of the dinner selections and "pair" with another entree. Pastas, chicken, scallops; amazing and enjoyed by all. I highly recommend the truffle pasta or the gnocchi. The best part of our evening came at the end of the meal. The chef/owner came over to great our group. He was so kind and fun. He toasted us with his personal selection of his homemade limoncello. He and his ownership group definitely made our night. Great spot for a group (plan for 3+ hours dining) or a date night. Loved every minute.

We enjoyed dinner at Prosecco on our anniversary trip to Chicago. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Buratta appetizer, and the cheese just melted in our mouths. I had the spaghetti di frutti di mare, and all the seafood was cooked to perfection. My husband's mahi mahi was delicious, too, including the arugala and avocado salad on top. We finished with tiaramisu and cappuccinos. Everyone was helpful and courteous.

They have redesigned their space, which is stunning. The food here is outstanding. The Burrata appetizer is a taste sensation with the best balsamic used, the bread perfectly grilled, and the burrata glides on the bread topped with tomato jam. Make sure you have to pieces! I had the Nordici pasta, my daughter had the risotto, which she devoured....and my husband had the carbonara, in which you incorporate the egg yolk once it arrives at your table. All of us were so happy!

Stopped in late night Saturday with no reservations. The place was packed but we were able to sit 4 at the bar with adjoining seats with 5 minute wait. Decent selection of Italian wines but limited beers. Full bar. We were able to order off the full dinner menu relatively quickly. The bread and giardineria offered was very good start. Pear salad with fresh mozzarella was excellent, garden salad was average. I had the eggplant parmesan which was excellent, and my husband had a modified orecchiette dish by adding chicken and he loved it. Other couple we dined with weren't thrilled with their risotto (bland) and Hawaiian fish (average). Tiramisu was good for dessert take out. Service was friendly and accommodating and pretty quick for a very crowded place. Thought some of the prices were a bit high, especially beverages and meat dishes. Most likely won't be back as there are so many other options out there. and we weren't wowed.

Sat outside on the patio, they great you with a glass of prosceco! My daughter and I had the caprice salad and the bureratta peach and cherry salad both with mozzarella. You must get both!!!!!!! We also had the pasta which was amazing!! This is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in a city with amazing Italian restaurants! I had the special tagliatelle bolognese, amazing and my daughter had the tried and true Orcheata tartufate pasta with truffle, they are known for this dish. Valet parking, fantastic meal service by Bridget, great job! two manebrea amber beers and all that $110 plus tax

Went for dinner several times during our stay in Chicago. Truly wonderful food, ambiance and staff. The Maître 'D was very helpful and amusing. Not cheap though.

The ambiance harkens back to a high end Prohibition era bar with a long bar and brass finishings. The service is absolutely phenomenal, with fantastic food and an impressively extensive wine list.

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. My fiancé and I have eaten here together more times than I can remember (and him even more times than me), and we've never had a bad experience. In a city where restaurants are starting to sacrifice quality for flashiness (I mean, are we becoming LA?), Prosecco's standards have not lowered. The service is great, the food is exceptional, and the drinks are outstanding. It has a bit of an upscale feel, but not stuffy by any means, with the option to sit outside during the summer. We also love to sit at the bar for what starts as a desire for 'just a drink', and morphs into us staying for dinner. For antipasti, you can't go wrong with the Burrata, Carpaccio, Polpetti, or the Salsiccia. If the truffle pasta is on the menu, GET IT. And don't forget to end the night with the limoncello, because it's homemade.

Had a fabulous meal with our daughters 18th bday. Great food, ambiance, and service. We we're treated to a small private dining room which set the mood for the evening. On the recommendation of our waiter Ken, we selected three appetizers and three main dishes family style which worked out perfectly. Highly recommend as a taste treat with great food and service.

I have eaten at Prosecco many times since its opening, and have sent friends and clients, it has maintained it quality and charm The food is always well prepared with excellent quality ingredients and and well presented. There is always a sizable list of interesting seasonal daily specials. They have one of the most delicious pork chops I have ever eaten. The mozzarella and buratta are authentic. The wine list is a bit on the expensive side, and hopefully Prosecco will look into new additions will have better values. The staff is very attentive and personable. The restaurant has a lively and well designed bar, as well as 3 rooms. 1 small private dining room [for 6-8] and 2 larger rooms.Under the owner Kathryne's watchful eye, I am sure Prosecco will be here for a while.

My wife and I decided to venture out on a cold Chicago night to a restaurant we had not tried before and were not disappointed. The ambiance was romantic,, the wait staff was well informed and attentive and the restaurant week menu as well as the regular menu was wonderful, starting with the bursts poached pears, the wild mushroom pasta, the veal and finishing with the flourless chocolate cake, a cappuccino and a limoncello...a lovely evening...

We had an amazing meal at Prosecco and would return on the strength of the Orecchiette Tartufate alone! Our waiter couldn't have been more personable and helpful. He quickly made us feel as though we were members of the family. The crab cakes, balsamic tuna, salmon with lentils were all exquisite, as well as the Torta di Mele for dessert. I'm returning to Chicago in December and will definitely save one evening for another dinner at Prosecco.

We went with group of friends on Saturday, had reservation for dinner. They asked us to order appetizer together with main course because it is busy which we did. Restaurant is nice and clean, little noisy which is expected for Saturday night. Appetizers were just ok, no flavor but fresh ingredients. Octopus was bland with too many potatoes which was unnecessary in my opinion. Anyway, we were enjoying our company and drinks for next 2 hours until they served our main course. We asked waiter several time what is going on and she was trying to make some jokes and to be entertaining. Little after 10 we got the food (reservation was at 7:30). My risotto with short ribs was more greasy than flavorful. Just a tiny bit better than in some lower rated restaurants. Finally manager showed up and explained how they had one of the cook injured and they were behind. We were just wondering why we were not told that much earlier and had a chance to change restaurant or wait for very late dinner. They should be more professional and treat their customers with more respect. Little discount on a bill didn’t work magic for me to forget the experience and go back.

I LOVE Prosecco!!! I say that sincerely and with great admiration for the restaurant and the experience they provide their diners. From the welcome at the table with a generous pour of prosecco, through the fabulous choices of appetizers through dessert, Prosecco delivers. I have been there with friends, relatives and business people and I have never been disappointed. Neither will you!!

Good atmosphere and service, but the ratings suggest its excellent - sorry its only average. It's nice and a fair Italian meal - lots of choice and specials but nothing to rave about. I had spaghetti fruiti do mare (seafood) - very small amount of seafood and didn't seen fresh but frozen. Tiramisu was poor - the mascarpone was very thin and seemed more like just cream.

Good food, good wine, good service - had the mahi mahi and beef tenderloin for entrees - both good; got the appetizer - burrata, peaches, shaved brussel sprouts per waiter recommendation and liked that it was different and was very good; got a toast of prosecco when sat down (thought others said they got a glass), but was still nice and had a nice bottle of red; dessert - blueberry tart and tiramusa were ok - not bad, but nothing to rave about. Service was very good and nice atmosphere.

Prosecco does it right. My wife and I went for my birthday while in Chicago for business. Our server was outstanding and very well versed on the menu as well as the extensive wine list. Atmosphere was wonderful. The owner/chef and his sister were excellent hosts (being from the South, that is a compliment). They have some upcoming dinner events that look wonderful. I would certainly return her again.

Very enjoyable business dinner with colleague/friend. Excellent food with very good flavors; the food was authentic and it was not overproduced. The server greeted us with a small sip of Prosecco, on the house, which was a good way to kick off the evening. We particularly enjoyed sharing a Bolognese (recommended by the Chef), and a Spaghetti ai Frutti di Mare. Pastas come in two sizes, typical of Italian restaurants. Prosecco has a good wine list, at a variety of price points. We shared an easy drinking bottle of Nero D'Avola for $75 and then a half bottle of hearty Amarone also for $75. Several wines were available at both lower and higher price points. HINT: The restaurant has been recently renovated. The front room was too noisy for me. Some diners may prefer that level of energy, but I could tell that staying in the front would be too loud for our conversation. The restaurant owners plan to add sound deadening devices, which should help. In the meantime, simply ask for a table in the back, by the kitchen. It was quieter back there, in part because most of the diners were in front. Prosecco also has a private room that appears to seat 6-10 (I am not sure of the exact size) that you can reserve. After a successful business dinner at Prosecco, I plan to return with my wife for a romantic dinner.

My husband decided to take me for a dinner. We came to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and unfortunately it was the worst dinner ever!!! Let’s start from the beginning, we came on time and everything was ok, we got a table and decided to order drinks, I ordered wine and my husband ordered beer. Our server didn’t know how to pour beer correctly so it was all over the table. Then we ordered an appetizers, I let me server know that I’m pescetarian and I don’t eat meat. I asked him if the clams appetizer has any meat, he said “no”, so I ordered it. After we got our appetizers and I started eating it, I realized that something there looks like pieces of sausages, I asked my server again if it’s meat, he said: “absolutely not! It’s clams or fish” I was like okay, thanks. And I gave it to try to my husband, he said that it is meat!!!! So I told my server once again, he said: “ok, I’m sorry about that, it’s gonna be on a house”. Are you guys serious? First of all, what if had an allergy? I could die because your server doesn’t know what ingredients are in every dish!? Secondly, not eating meat, is my lifestyle, my choice and it’s very important to me! First time in 3 years since I became pescetarian, Prosecco restaurant (“high level restaurant “) forced me to eat that meat! Your apologies are nothing. I was about to start crying. It was a couple seated near us, and they got there pasta with pieces of chicken, but on the menu it was only salmon. They were vegetarian too, so they weren’t happy as well. But anyway we ordered 2 pastas, one vegetarian for me, another one with shrimps for my husband. Another server (turned out that she was a co-owner of the restaurant) brought us 2 pastas, and one was with meat, instead of the one with ordered with shrimps!!!!! So we explained it to her again, she said that she is sorry and she touched me by the shoulder at least 5 times like I’m her friend or something. Lady, don’t touch people in any way! I’m not your friend and I don’t like it! That’s my intimate personal space! Do you know what’s that!?! So in the end, she brought us one more pasta with shrimps and told us that the third pasta is on a house... The rule of the Valentine’s Day was 75$ minimum charge per person, which is a lot!! You can’t spend 75$, seriously for real it’s a lot to spend, their prices are not so high, you could die of the food coma! And especially if you are not drinking, so that stupid. You guys are saying that you are high level restaurant, and you are asking for minimum charge? Lol. If your costumers will like what you do they will spend even more.... hold on, it’s not the end of the story. We got our check, and they took my clams appetizer out of the bill, but in the end of the check they added it again!!!! Can you imagine??? I was sooooo mad, so I was asking our server to come to our table again, I was like what’s wrong with you guys??? And it was 22% tip included!! Do you really think that’s normal!?!? 22% tips are for really high level of service, your service worth 0%, in any fast food they serve you better then at your “restaurant “. And then..... their fancy chief (second co-owner) came to our table and started screaming on us, tore a check from my hand and started his loud show: “I’m so tired of you, relax, everything is on a house! We are very busy today. And you ruined everyone’s Valentine’s Day and bla bla bla”. excuse me sir, don’t you think you ruined our dinner????? And do you really think that I care if you are busy or not? It’s none of my business! It’s so unprofessional to explain why you messed up, I don’t want to hear your excuses, because I DO NOT CARE!!!!! I came to relax, to pay 150$ plus tax and plus 22% tips and not to solve your problems! In the end their manager came to our table, and he was the only one polite and professional there. I will never come again, I will post my review on every social media! I DONT recommend this restaurant to anyone! Please be aware!!!

Excellent and attentive service. Drinks were delicious and I had the best pasta dish I’ve ever eaten. I decided to go traditional and have the Tiramisu for dessert, and it did not disappoint.

An old favorite was a major disappointment for a birthday dinner. The food was so disappointing for everyone at the table and the service on a slow night to get the entrees delivered was inexcusable.

A friend recommended this place knowing that we love good Italian food. Not disappointed, scallops were amazing, lobster bisque was outstanding & service was top notch. We sat on the patio for a late dinner and had a blast.

The octopus and calamari appetizer was exceptional. The wine list was nice too. Dinner was very good - my husband had surf and turf and I had the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. My husband also ordered a side of the carmelized onion mashed potatoes. He said his dinner was great. My pasta was very, very salty - but tasty nonetheless. The server forgot to bring the potatoes, but someone else brought them after we asked. Relaxing and romantic atmosphere. We really enjoyed it.

This high quality restuarant just reopened with a new look and it's better than ever. The decor and atmosphere is both elegant, trendy and very warm. The new look is a great segway to the experience and delicious dining you would expect.

The ambiance compliments the outstanding entrees and “sides”. Service staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, giving the table recommendations based on their individual preferences and tastes. I recommend the egg plant, it’s not breaded but presented with a mild fried Italian cheese topped with a delicate marinara sauce. I believe all pasta is hand made in the kitchen. Dinners are reasonably priced and enjoy the ricotta cheese cake for dessert.

For the high prices, we were expecting something special. We certainly didn't get it. The service was attentive but it felt like they were in a hurry for us to finish our meal. Our waiter asked what wine we wanted before we had even decided on our food selection. The bill was brought the second we finished our dessert (and without being asked for). To top it off, the fish was slightly off and over-lemoned in order to disguise the fact, in my opinion. Not good enough for an upscale-priced place like this.

This was our second trip to Prosecco. Our first was a couple of years ago. Not much (other than the menu) has changed which, in my opinion, is good. It is a very romantic atmosphere and a great place for a date night or anniversary celebration. The food and wine are outstanding. The service is also top notch. The only negative I can say about this place is it is a little cramped. But they more than make up for it in the quality of food, service, and atmosphere.

We were there for dinner and were greeted with a glass of prosecco - a nice start to the evening. Roberto and Christian were our servers and they were wonderful. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and lots of fun! The food was outstanding. We loved the veal saltimbocca and the tiramisu and chocolate torte were delish!

If you like truffles, you HAVE to oder the Orichette pasta. It's to die for. I've been here a few times and everything is wonderful. Service is very professional but comfortable/familiar.. you feel like part of the family. I feel like this is one of those hidden gems that if you know of it, you'll impress anyone you bring here. Highly recommend. One of my favorite places in Chicago.

Great special lunch time menu - delicious salad, super entree and a glass of wine for two - $50. We could eat there every day , except for resultant waistline issues.

By far the best Italian food I have had in the area. The food is creative, yet simple. The food is very fresh. The atmosphere is lovely. The waitstaff are very helpful.

We had planned a special Birthday night out with 20 of our best friends. We had given lots of notice as we know groups can be a challenge. We were in our own special area which was great, BUT then it only went down hill from there. We finally received Bread 1.5 hours from arrival. Our FIRST course came TWO HOURS after we arrived. The food was TERRIBLE! The worst Salad I have ever eaten. The Salmon - nothing to write home about, no taste. Our Group will NEVER go back obviously!!!!

Not one negative thing to say; from service to presentation and ambiance, it was a great experience. Will definitely return.

My wife and I came in for her birthday. The service was amazing, the meal was amazing, and nothing could have been better.

I visited on a Friday with my wife and two daughters. It is tucked out of the way but close to Michigan Ave. We arrived at 7:00 for our reservation, on time, and were seated promptly. Even though we were seated close to the front and it was 25 degrees outside, I never felt a draft. The interior is both elegant and cozy. The ambience, while being upbeat, was never too loud. We all started with the burrata with poached pears...excellent and original! My entree was the salmon with pasta and cream sauce. It was tasty and definitely had an Italian flavor. I enjoyed it tremendously. The others had no complaints. There were several specials to choose from, but the only thing I missed was a ravioli special. All in all it was a great experience for everyone. Would highly recommend!

Excellent food served by a well trained competent staff. Interesting wine list and outdoor seating on a beautiful June night. Enchanting.

Went for dinner with a large group. Group menu had a good selection of food, with everyone ordering a wide variety of items. Food was served together and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Staff were friendly and attentive - good group dining experience.

We took our friends here for dinner - and everyone enjoyed themselves. We sat in the back room which is a little quieter than up front. Our food was delicious - especially the lemon cello after dinner drink. Our servers were very attentive with constant water refills.

Even though I really like this place because it is just around the corner from my office...I LOVE the food! If Northern Italian food appeals to you (i like ALL Italian food), then this place is a must. The veal dishes, Osso Bucco, linguine with clam sauce or seafood, polentas...all awesome. Their lamb is one of the best around and its always nice to have a nice glass of Prosecco on the house to start your meal. Has that old world atmosphere but up to date touches. This place is great for business dinners, family occasions or a little corner table for a romantic night. A great Italian restaurant in a city of great Italian restaurants. Can't go wrong

Elegant interior and service in River North area. Not your usual spaghetti and meatballs place at all. Cuisine is nuanced and with flavors a bit off the beaten path. Start with a Prosecco toast and end with Lemoncello. Hope that Bridget waits your table!

Food was good and delicious. Service adequate. My Lake Superior whitefish was over cooked. The owner apologized and cooked another one to perfection. He was so apologetic and did not charge me for my order. The ambience was perfect. Wine selection was just right. Great place to bring a special date.Definitely coming back.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We loved the atmosphere. Wine list offered a great selection. We ordered the daily house special which was Grouper and it was excellent. We really enjoyed the Avocado salad. It was very small but quite tasty. However, it sure lacked the shrimp and lobster that was so deliciously described in the menu. Even though the restaurant wasn't crowded, our server wasn't very attentive and we would rate the service as just OK. We expected more from a restaurant with food priced in this range.

Great food always check the specials they can be 5 star The rib steak is as good as any steakhouse in Chicago. The pasta is hand made and fresh.

Had a lovely lunch here during restaurant week to celebrate a friend's birthday - food was delicious, service was wonderful, atmosphere was lovely
Restaurant Week Lunch
We have wanted to come back to Prosecco for quite a while, and finally had the chance to come when some appointments brought us downtown. We arrived rather late, around 1:15 or so, on one of the most bitterly cold days of January. The restaurant was fairly empty, due to the hour and the weather, I would guess. We had a wonderful waitperson, Carol. She was helpful, charming, professional and made our visit just lovely. We ordered our lunch from the restaurant week special menu, and enjoyed every bite thoroughly. I had the crab cake risotto appetizer... fabulous. Then, I also ordered the mushroom risotto, which was creamy, earthy, and absolutely amazing. For dessert, I had the cinnamon gelato... delicious. My husband had the same appetizer, the pasta entree and the tiramisu for dessert, which he said was outstanding. For $22 a person, this is a wonderful chance to come for a truly memorable lunch. We also had a glass of wine with lunch; Carol recommended a wonderful white wine to go with my food, and her choice was faultless. We'll try to get back there this summer and enjoy another wonderful meal. Prosecco has now become my favorite Italian restaurant in the city.
