This place has a nice ambiance, although through out the years the decor has gone from unique and inviting to over the top and tacky....now they have a lot of Disney characters hanging from the ceiling.... the waiters are dress in traditional outfits and they have live entertainment, but somewhere in the process they forgot to focus on the food. My husband ordered a Bandeja Paisa, his look of disappointment when he saw the size of the dish was priceless (not in a good way), they charge extra for the avocado and din't have the traditional chorizo, in the bright side the meat had good flavor but was 3-4oz only, the beans were made from scratch and had good seasoning (but it was the dish was so small....he wanted taco bell afterwards). Other items that we ordered: Fried fish (salty and no coconut rice served with it). The Boliche relleno was blend and dry and the sobrebarriga didn't fare well either, it seems that they cook the meats separate keep them in the fridge and then put a want-a-be stew on top and hope that people don't notice, but that's not how you cook these meals! will never go back.

My visit to this place was bad from the moment we pulled into the parking lot. You are forced to use a valet service. The valet guys were rude and will make you wonder if you should trust your car to them. When we walked into the restaurant it looked like one of those places shown in American Horror Stories. Very creepy place decorated with the taste of a psycho. The place was empty and the waiter couldn't find a better recommendation than trying to make us sit next to the bathroom (he didn't like it when I told him). The place was overpacked with mannequins dressed up like supposedly famous people but they all have the same face just different wig. I don't know how but somebody thought that the ceiling should be decorated with a mix of nemo and some other ugly things. All the walls were cover with pennies and coated with epoxy. Food was just ok and not much to choose from to drink. When we left, the valet gave me my keys and I had to go get my car myself.....hopefully this place will not last much longer. Go somewhere else if you can.

The food was not the best and even worse than the food it’s the customer service. I had to suffer a lot of delays and while still eating our food someone came to remove it (I and my partner just felt a lot of pressure, so we couldn’t enjoy our lunch peacefully)

Guys attention if ur planning to go to pueblito viejo, there is problem with the valet harassing u for the money, WE WAITED 3 hours to be seated, when we finally got seated and order the food the food came to the table COLD, and the egg from de bandeja Paisa taste rotten, overprice Picada churrasco $57, good empanadas and pork belly, they charge 20$ to sing happy bday whether u want it or not 10$ if u don't want the hat, when I talked to the manger to explain her that I didn't want hat or shot because we were drinking bottles of wine she told me in a very nasty attitude and no manners or Custumer service experience she treat me like a ignorant "it's policy if u want us to sing we are going to charge u 10 without the hat" so I had no other choice but to take that one. Vary bad experience and no recommending this place at all like I have told all of my friends. So save yourself a bad experience and some hours of wait to be seated to get bad service and COLD FOOD.

One of my family's favoutite placs for a late lunch. Thee decor is bizarrely over the top, but the chrrasco is great - served on an individual board.

This place was amazing! Great food, drinks, and atmosphere! Service was excellent. They play great music. I recommend you call ahead to reserve a table as it’s a small establishment. I had a great time!

I have nothing good to write, but I have to give you my opinion! Please dine somewhere else and save your taste buds and cash! On a scale from one to ten, the food is a "five", the service is a "one" and charging $6.00 to valet park in a parking lot smaller than your driveway at home should be against the law. Also, the waiter started clearing dishes from the table before we were done! (How low class is that?) Another thing that should be against the law is charging an 8% sales tax on your meal, when the sales tax rate in Miami is 7%. Now you can stop reading... and start running away!

The food was really good and the show was OK. BUT, the place is really loud and busy all the time, and as a result the service is not good at all. I think this place has too much culture for such a small place. It is good to go to new places, and know different cultures, but I don't think I'll be going again.

Our family visited Pueblito Viejo for Easter dinner. We have made reservation earlier so our table was ready for us. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. For appetizer chicken and meat empanadas, they were delicious. One my guest ordered the Picada Pueblito Viejo, which is a huge tray for 3 with assorted meat, arepas and potatoes it was amazing. I ordered pechuga Pueblito was flavorless ; the side salad had no dressing, and potatoes wedges were boiled without any dressing or topping. It was a very bland plate. We ordered a cheese flan, & it was terrible. It’s usually creamy and delicious, this one bitter and watery. The restaurant decor is vibrant, loud and very dark. Everyone was using their phone as a source of light. I was disappointed with the food.

Some years ago I did not go to this place, which I always liked a lot for its atmosphere and joy, last March 30 I went with my family and believe me that I was well disappointed with the change that given the place in terms of the atmosphere, they had a reggaeton music played but so loud that it was impossible for me to talk to the waitress, we could not have a conversation at the table since we did not hear each other, too much noise we really felt very bad and uncomfortable, I hope it changes for the good.

The food was fresh and delicious, it's Colombian food, we took la bandeja paisa, which is beans and rice, fried egg, pork steak, arepas and pork scratchings (chicharrones) the decor of the place is peculiar and beautiful, and everybody was very nice. There is a show around 8 o'clock and also live music, super fun place to eat

After have a lot fun in Ana Gabriel concert in Miami, flying from New York City just for the weekend, we end at "Pueblito Viejo". It was amazing food, service 5 Starts. The Mojito's so delicious, Mr. James Ospina take care of us providing EXELLENT service, makes us feel so warm up or in Colombia. The decoration terrific you can spend hours looking at every little detail, everywhere. Usually you never include the restroom in your review, but in this place lol it was great place.

Delicious food but the waiter who served us brought a beer that we did not order and he never come back to the table to know if we needed anything else. I asked another waiter for some water drink. the restaurant has a good atmosphere and I will come back.

The first thing that shocks you before you even enter into this cleverly decorated restaurant is the $10 charge for parking. Mind you, this place is in a neighborhood surrounded by many parking lots which are all empty after hours. Imagine walking into the Tiki Room at Disney. You've got all sorts of paraphernalia hanging from the ceiling and everywhere. The food is OK, but not great at all. The service is extremely slow, even though I have never seen so many waiters and help staff in relation to the amount of customers. They just simply talk to each other and laugh while you wait for a glass of water. The portions are large enough to share but the food was lukewarm. They have a dancing area with loud Latin music and people have a great time dancing. I noticed several people were celebrating their birthdays. The entire staff gets together and sings...Happy Bird Day to you.....so my date and I thought they were celebrating Thanksgiving....LOL. It's a place to visit once, even if it's just to see all the hanging dolls and animals.

Must visit! Great family atmosphere. You can have some drinks and dance and have your children with you as well... decor is very traditional and the experience is amazing!

First off....This is a Colombian Restaurant....So don't piss anyone off! They are great and proud people. Second: Don't go there if you cant stand small parking lots with valet service. Remedy: Don't go there if you cant park your car in a spot...Or get there a little early and park without any stress. Now that that's all said and done.....Go there if you enjoy Colombian food. It is decorated like a lucid dream that cant be explained: Except that it resembles a collection of curious artifacts nailed to the walls and ceiling in the most funky way...A must see! The place has singing waiters and tipical Colombian food. Check it out you will like it.

Fun. Fun. Fun This Colombian restaurant in south Miami is large and has entertainment. The food is authentic and tasty. The atmosphere is fun because of the decor which is....filled with nick nakes, tchotchkes, mean every inch! Tables are small Nd so are the chairs and so are the aisles. Sort of like an airplane in economy seats BUT fun! So strap on your seat belts and do go to the bathrooms which are also equally crazy decorated

Is a good place for have a good night's celebrating party because the music are good and the decoration is beautifully. JUST don't eat nothing, they take forever, the waiters ignore you all the time... Is the most expensive colombian restaurant ever

We took my mother here for her birthday and it was absolutely amazing! We didn't know what to expect but it surpassed all of our expectations. The interior decoration is so ornate and it is just so lively in this restaurant. They don't take any reservations so if you're trying to go on the weekend, expect to wait. But the wait is totally worth it! They have amazing live music and performances, a dance floor that everyone jumps on when the music is good and the food was spectacular. We ordered the Churrasco and it was enormous. And good. So good. For my mother's birthday all the waiters came over and sang her Happy Birthday. They also brought her a free drink and an authentic colombian-style hat with her name on it signed by the Pueblito Viejo staff. It really made my mother's birthday above and beyond. She had so much fun! And they are open till late! The mariachis didn't hit the stage until 1 am so get ready to eat and dance the night away all in the same night! Este lugar es FANTASTICO!

For the longest time this colorful and whimsical establishment has been a Latin (mostly South American) all time favorite destination with wonderful and delicious grilled steak and wonderful dance to salsa and merengue. For years I have come here to a delightful evening always leaving satisfied by good food, music and ambiance. However, this past Friday, my friend and I left completely disappointed at the food, "new show " and music. Food: we all got sick from the excessive meat tenderizer (3 of us are chefs), God knows how old undercooked chorizos! "New Show": they usually have this musical "stand up comedian" who is funny if you know Spanish but they have introduced a girl in bandage dress who sang for too long, leaving little space for DJ and dancing. We were all dying of boredom and waiting for the girl to just get it over with and let us dance! Music: Finally, after the girl stops singing we were excited to hit the dance floor to nice salsa and merengue but got nothing but the waiters with a "party over", "get the hell out of here" attitude and left with the rest of the disappointed couples and groups. Best Margaritas in Bird though and service is always fast and good but if they do not pay attention to food quality and top entertainment, I can see this place going down hill fast. There's a lot of competition out there so better step up your game guys! You ain't cheap either and you are serving cheap food and entertainment.

It has been years since I went to this restaurant on Bird road (SW 40th Street, Miami). I think now they have other locations. If you love casual Colombian food you would love this place. I love the decoration outside and inside. Service was great, very attentive to our needs. Looking forward to going again and having a Bandeja Paisa, a Mondongo or a Breaded Pork Steak. Such an amazing place. The food, service and entertainment cannot get any better. We had a great time … We will be back soon. What a unique restaurant … The food portions are massive enough to share with 2-3 people. Never judge a book by its cover. This place is great for large groups as well. It was a great restaurant experience … The food was surprisingly delicious. They have some of the best Colombian empanadas I've ever had. An additional bonus is the live entertainment shows they host on the weekends, very funny (in Spanish language)… I'm coming back again … Don't forget to order desert, the “cuatro leches” (four milk) was super delicious …I recommend this place.

Friendly service. Highly recommend to anyone looking to have a few drinks and dance and still be able to spend time with your family. Each day seems to offer something different or a different environment. Besides the food they have a full bar, dance floor and shows.

very good food and exelent service Colombian dishes and a very goo Colombian show with dancing music and is open until the wee hours

If you're Colombian this is a great restaurant. 'Tipo paisa' decor, great food, good 'trovadores' and over all a fun place to reminisce and enjoy. A little on the pricey side for this type of food.

I went to this place with my boyfriend and really enjoyed the decoration the food and the ambiance. I had the bandeja paisa which is absolutely delicious and they even hace some sort of a show , i would recommend it to anybody!

As stated in may of the reviews, the ambiance is quite unique even for the seasoned Colombia traveler. You will be hard pressed to find comparable decor anywhere. The staff was courteous and helpful but lacking in attention to detail with a strong push towards up-selling the menu. The food was adequate with nothing particularly outstanding and pricing was more towards the high side for comparable fare. I have eaten in a Hialeah Hole in the Wall Colombian restaurant with better food for less, however the ambiance and experience of Pueblito Viejo was worth the experience. Friday and Saturday nights are quite busy, and they did take reservations.

Food was delicious! The service was great ! I loved the place. We had a great night ! Definitely will recommend!

Restaurant with recorded and live music. there is no table reservation so you must to arrive with time for dinner. the weekend there is a long line for entry. Waitress very friendly, fast service and delicious Columbian food.

The food is delicious, I order the Colombian espanada the best I had in south Florida, the restaurant lot of decorations and Colombian goodies. I definitely will go again to tried the meal.

nice place, good food, service great..The service was great ! I loved the place. We had a great night ! Definitely will recommend!

My husband and I went here for dinner the other night. Crowded parking lot but all valet parking took care of that. Crowded by the front door but we were seated immediately. Our waiter was efficient but with limited English. I had a chicken and boiled potato dish - rather bland but improved with some of their hot sauce. My husband had beef and rice that was excellent! The beef was melt-in-you-mouth good. My glass of sangria was small but definately one of the best sangrias I’ve had in the US. I’m sure we will be back,

Even if you make a reservation you have to wait a lot to get your table ready because that place is always packed, but it's worthy, Colombian food and a Colombian artist who performs late at night, it's a fantastic show to amuse people. My friends loved the place.

We spent my mom's birthday here and had a blast. It's a fun-loving, family friendly place that serves great food. From the minute you walk in the decoration strikes you, it's very colorful and extravagant. The staff is very attentive and they make sure you are enjoying yourself at all times. While you are having dinner there is also an improv group that composes small personalized rhymes about your table. We let them know it was my mom's birthday and the staff sang happy birthday with us, brought a party hat and birthday dessert for her and a photographer captured the whole thing. My parents currently love this place. Can't wait to go back!

We had dinner here celebrating a cousin's birthday. The atmosphere definitely invites fun and merriment. The menu is in Spanish with English subheadings. Fortunately, 2 in our group speak Spanish and were able to interpret the menu and communicate with our waiter. We had empanadas and arepas as appetizers. For mains we had pork dishes, skirt steak, chicken breast, and filet of fish. All were excellent. Flavors were not typical of American food, but authentic Columbian. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The restaurant was very busy and they only accept reservation for certain times. I would recommend getting there early or try to make a reservation.

Went on a Friday night to celebrate my niece's birthday. From the first moment we were misled. The valet parking was obligatory although it said parking to one side and valet to the other. I refused to pay the valet $6 to park my own car so they keyed my door. Inside I am not even going to get into details because my blood will boil. BUT beware of the trap you get into. Service is horrible they even charge you for water. The decor scared some of the smaller kids in our party and the music was extremely loud. This place will be out of business before you know it when the word spreads that it's a trap. Will not recommend to anyone.

It was a birthday of a friend of mine, and after 40 minutes of telling the waitress to bring the crew and sing Happy Birthday to my friend, the waitress told me the charge to sing Happy Birthday was 20 dollars. This place is not cheap, they even charge to park the car, they should do at least a happy birthday song complementary. I said no to the waitress but had to deal with some shame in front of my friend since it was a surprise happy birthday dinner.

Went for the first time to Pueblito Viejo#2 on Bird Road and SW 82 Ave for 2 Birthday celebration. The place is fun, lots, I mean lots of decoration, for some might be way too much, I did mind as we all actually enjoyed looking at all the decor. The food is amazing, the service is ok, I think they should be more attentive specially for a group of 8, I had to ask for my water glass to be filled, you shouldn't have to ask, waiters should be on top of this. They bought a pitcher of water after I ask for the glass to be filled. The place is a bit expensive but the food is very tasty, so if you like to eat good, you just have to pay for it, I can understand if the place is expensive and the food sucks, but this is not the case. So you are paying for what you get, the portions is good. The churazco is extremely big, but I think $30 for it is way too much, it looked very tasty and who had it was very pleased with the taste. My food was a bit cold, I like my food extremely hot, but I ate it, I was hungry. The only negative thing I have to say is that I advised 2 of our parties were having birthdays, they said it was $20 per person for them to sing happy birthday, they give you their traditional hat and a shot of aguardiente, I told the guy they did't even drink and we were not interested on the hat, so he said not to worry then, I said all I wanted was for them to sing happy birthday just like they do at any other restaurant. At the end they ended up coming to the table with happy birthday hats for both of them, the restaurant kept the hats of course, I guess is another hat they use, but they first try to hit you with that $20 charge. We were not charge additional for it. Then they have the photographer who takes lots of pictures and then you buy them if you want. We bought like 8 pictures. Overall I will recommend the place over and over again.

Very rude servers even disrespectful. Food is good but over priced. They used to be very good but seems to be they are now famous and there is a line of people waiting to go inside, so they don't care about customers anymore, they even make very bad comments about us because we were a group of older people. I felt bad for my group there was their first time there and it was my idea to have this Christmas dinner on that place

We when with my uncle and his family to celebrate my cousins birthday. Walking into the restaurant I didn't know what to expect. Columbian music was playing and the decorations mirrored what a restaurant in Columbia would look like. One wall was decorated in a collage of pennies that was absolutely amazing. The authentic Columbian menu was presented in both Spanish and English, however, I was glad that my cousins wife spoke Spanish and could better translate what or server was telling me. I had the Bandeja "Pueblito Viejo" which was red beans, rice, fried pork rinds, grilled skirt steak, fried sweet plantains, fried egg & Arepa. It was delicious and huge! Truly an amazing dish. Both my aunt and uncle had the fried fish which covered an entire platter. They also said that it was delicious. The service was exceptional and no one in our party of eight needed to ask for anything. The wait staff was very attentive. After nine in the evening, there is live music. we left before that but the place was filling up quickly. I imagine that it really "jumps" once the music starts. There is a full bar and substantial wine selection. Parking is valet only.

This is the coolest, cutiest restaurant ever. It is full of Colombian nik naks and other random stuff. The ceiling and walls are COVERED. I mean COVERED in stuff. The food was very good and the price was average. If you are Colombian or familiar with the culture, you will appreciate all the details of this little place. Its a must!!! Its authentic food and feel.

We live in the neighborhood and whenever I passed by this restaurant it caught my attention because it looks like a house with brightly colored doors and windows. It also was busy with people coming and going, which is usually a good sign. I had read some of the previous reviews and was a little nervous in trying it out, but have learned that everyone has different experiences. First off, we came on a Friday evening around 7:30pm. It was not packed. When we pulled in the valet came over and we paid $6 for the car to be parked. That was the one negative I found to the whole experience. On entering the restaurant it makes you feel like you have been transported to another place. There are silk flowers hanging from the ceiling, pictures of Colombian celebrities that have visited the restaurant, stuffed cow heads, etc. Every available space on the ceiling and walls is covered with Colombian memorabilia. The waiters are dressed in traditional dress with hats. Our waiter took our drink order and we ordered appetizers -- chicken and beef empanadas. My husband and I both ordered the carne asada. I had it with rice and arepa and my husband asked for rice and beans. The meat was juicy, tender and flavorful. For dessert the waiter recommended to me the capricho and my husband had the flan de coco. I had never had capricho before, but I am in love with it -- the bottom layer is vanilla custard, then a thin layer of vanilla cake with crushed almonds and whipped cream on top. Amazing! While we were there many people were celebrating their birthdays. The waiters come out with a candle, birthday hat and shot of Agua ardiente (if the person is 21 or older). They sing Happy Birthday and have the person wear the birthday hat and blow out the candle. They even have a dance floor on one end of the restaurant and have music playing throughout the restaurant. Overall I was glad I came with my husband and hope to come again. There are many Colombian restaurants in Miami, but Pueblito Viejo is worth it.

This place is totally incredible! From the delicious food (we had empanadas, la bandeja paisa, tres leches) to the absolutely hilarious show, and attentive and caring staff, this restaurant has to be one of the BEST Miami has to offer! Can't wait to go back with the family!

I would rate this restaurant fair to average. There is really nothing special about it. Once the novelty of the first visit wears off, observing the eclectic décor on the walls and ceiling, the bottom line you are there for good food and service. But let me tell you one thing, its really not worth the money. Most of the items on the menu were really nothing spectacular, just regular everyday Colombian staples dishes with an attractive rustic presentation, something that you can basically get at any budget cafeteria. There is nothing appealing about eating everyday Colombian food yet pay gourmet prices. There is no complexity in the preparation of this type of food served to justify such high prices. To add insult to injury, the waiter assigned to our table was not very polite. I'm not saying he was rude, but he most certainly was not customer service oriented. He mostly ignored us for the most part, just wondered off and neglected to regularly check to make sure everything was ok. He would come to us only if we called him. It was certainly very frustrating looking around trying to find him, even after he was visually located, it was hard to catch his attention. We ordered a few Margaritas, but billed for top shelf Patron Silver tequila that we never requested. I doubt very much that they mixed or added premium tequila to our drinks. I had the worse hangover the next day, which is the typical effect when one drinks low grade, cheap liquor. I bet they thought we could not tell the difference. With regards to the seating arrangements, it was horrible, very tight and cramped. We were basically on top of each other and too close to the table next door. The lack of the privacy made one feel ill at ease to say the least, we just did not feel sufficiently relax to speak and act freely. But what made things worse were the very hard and uncomfortable chairs as just one more item, the straw that broke the Camel's back and which did not allow one to enjoy the meal and moment with family. After I paid the check, I walked out feeling that I was literally ripped off. If you want to go to something place different, then one visit to this place is ok, but for seconds or subsequent visits I would not recommend it. I would look for another less pricey place, where I would get better for the money, when or if I will ever again crave Colombian food.

My wife and I went to the restaurant during the weekend and we had a very good time. We had the opportunity to visit Colombia 4 years ago and since then we never had the chance to eat in a place that respect and recreates the Colombian culture so good!!! Food is delicious and we were pleased with the service. The decoration is outstanding. The only thing that we didn't like was the parking spaces, which they don't have enough for a so crowded place.

Pueblito viejo is my our favorite place for Colombian food, Their bandeja paisa is awesome! Price is good too.

Visited this place on my wife's birthday, first I cant believe that they charge 6.00 to park the car 2 meters from you, by the time you leave they give you the keys to pick it up yourself, they sit us on a 4 person table , we were 5, food sub par, we asked for Picada Pueblito Viejo Churrasco (for two people) $ 57.00, if you like pork, lots of chicharrones, very scarce real meat, do not ask for it. We asked if they would sing happy birthday for my wife, and they would charge 25.00, Seriously....bad waiter have to beg for water, anyway thank you would never return or would never recommend to any of my costumers. visitamos el lugar por el cumpleannos de mi esposa, te cobran 6.00 dolares por parquear tu auto delante de ti, en la entrada, a dos metros de donde estas, eramos 5 y nos sentaron en una mesa de cuatro personas, pedimos Picada pueblo viejo churrasco, $57.00, poca carne, chorizo, mucho chicharrones, cuando pedimos si podian cantar feliz cumpleannos, te cobran 25.00 $, en serio...poco servicio del mesero, hay que suplicar por al agua.ni pensar en volver, y por supuesto ni recomendar a nadie de mis clientes.

The first minute you enter this place you think you are in Columbia. the decoration is so nice and very typical of Columbia. The food is great..their meets are very good. Their "bandeja paisa" which is very typical and is a popular plate, alot of food and great taste. Their pastelitos are amazing!!!If you want to impress a gringo take them to this place. Their mouth will open the minute they eneter.

Excellent site, grand Colombian style restaurant in the heart of Miami, good locations, served well presented and consistent with its price, great attention from its employees.

Family and I went to this restaurant, we had a great time, eating delicious Colombian food, " the rest soup" was very good, awesome taste. I didn't look me the space for tables, we felt uncomfortable then we spoke with the Waiter and he joined two tables. Also we enjoyed the show with " Trovadores" was something funny and different.

We went here with family on a Wednesday night. Arrived around 8:00PM and the place was fairly empty. I was surprised that by 9:30 the place was full and a lot of action going on. The food was good and the staff was friendly. The place has a lot of typical Colombian decorations as well as other not so typical. The only negative I have about the place is the music. Since it was a weekday they were playing videos and prerecorded music. However, the majority of the music was not Colombian, but Mexican music. Yes there is a difference and it really took away from the rest of the experience. I have nothing against Mexican music or food, but this is obviously not a Mexican place. I ordered the Bandeja Pueblo Viejo. The best thing about this was the chicharrones. Great place and I will go back again.

Great Colombian food. Fabulous atmosphere. Food is plentiful. Can easily share. Come early as fills up quickly especially on weekends. This place has been here forever.

Some friends recommend the place and thought it would a good idea. Well, it was not. We asked for some wine, beer and a soda. The wine and beer selection was very limited. When the drinks arrived the beer was not very cold, so we told the server. He claimed that the beer was cold but the beer mugs were warm. Either way we were stuck with warm beer, because he did not make any other attempt to remedy the situation. As we sat waiting for the bill, another waiter approached our table and said "there are other people waiting". I can certainly understand that other people are waiting, but we were waiting for the bill. He went on to say there us a $25.00 minimum consumption requirement. This was very rude for him to say, since we were waiting for the waiter to come with bill. I have been to many places that are full of people and waiting, but never have they been so rude to try to get you to clear a table. We felt kicked out and by the way we did spend $160.00. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Spend your money on a place with better customer service.

A nice restaurant to go with the family. We went on a Sunday night there was very nice live music. The food was delicious and the attention is quite fast. I liked it, I would go again.

exellent service. amazing dinner, meat superb ,i highly recommend this place to my friends. exellent exellent exellent

The valet service (separate from the restuarant) crashed my car to the point it was not driveable. With a large dinner party having driven 75 miles for what was supposed to be a fun night out turned worse when the manager of Pueblito Viejo treated us like garbage. He made a comment early on that he would "take care of my wife and I" but later decided that we had to pay for our dinners that we never ate (due to spending 2-3 hours with police and towing company outside). Accidents happen but the manager and the way he handled the situation was not at all expected.

As a Colombian living in Miami for 20 years, it's odd that I hadn't visited Pueblito Viejo on Bird Rd. until this weekend. I read some reviews, and despite the warnings, a group of 5 of us (including my teenage daughter) decided to give it a try. The show was at 8PM so we called to make a reservation. They don't take reservations. Got there 40 minutes before the show, paid $6 valet parking for each car ($16 total, including tip). It was raining so there was no place to wait other than a tiny room packed with millions of tchotchkes. Folklore. Awesome! We were in a festive, birthday-celebration mood. After 30 minutes of standing/waiting, we got a table for 4 w/ one extra chair jammed in, on the dance floor. Even if we were a little uncomfortable, we really wanted to see the show of "trovadores" (improvisational Colombian singers/comedians that make fun of guests with their rhymes). This place is LOUD. The music is loud, the people are loud. Rowdy guests kept bumping into us as they posed for endless pictures next to a wall w/ a neon sign that reads “Check it out, baby.” Hellbent on enjoying our night, we chose to ignore the constant annoyances. Luck was not on our side because our server was none other than the "José" I'd read about in so many negative reviews. I'd like to report that everyone was right about José: he is unfriendly, impatient, unmotivated, angry at the world & his job and someone who shouldn't be in the service industry. From the looks of José’s physique, he should stick to the gym. The food was overpriced and portions are definitely on the smaller side, but as far as taste, the food was all right. We did not order any bottles of alcohol. Our bill came to $150. By now you probably know that Pueblito Viejo includes a 15% gratuity, whether your service was good or not. So let's get down to why I'm writing this review. We enjoyed the show and meal, paid the bill, and now we too were dancing. We had been at our table for one hour. We would have had a pretty good night overall, except for what happened next: Magda came to our table to ask us to leave. Simply said, she needed the table and we were done. In disbelief and in need of clarification, we asked to speak to the manager. We were informed that Magda was the manager. Magda clarified the situation further: The place was packed and people were waiting outside and they needed our table. We weren’t going to consume alcohol. Good night. “Those are the rules,” she said. What rules? Where is it written that there is a time limit on tables? Did we not plunk down $150-plus at your establishment? Does your website not invite everyone to “come for the food and stay for the fiesta”?? We were asked to leave in the middle of our fiesta. To say Magda and Pueblito Viejo’s “policies” are rude doesn’t begin to explain it. I’ve never been to a restaurant that throws you out when you’re done (unless you’re being rambunctious, rude, or you’re drunk). But this place threw us out because according to them, 1 hour was up and we were done. What if we wanted to order drinks? What if we wanted to dance a little? What if we just wanted to sit for a little longer and watch people dance? Didn’t we pay for the show, the food, the atmosphere and the experience? Something is wrong here. This place is interested in packing the place beyond its limits, extracting money from guests in every way it can (valet/alcohol/tip), and then doesn’t care about repeat visits or cultivating customers. I read somewhere that Pueblito Viejo is like a Disney ride. Except most of us keep going back to Disney for the experience, and we’ll certainly never visit Pueblito Viejo again. Save your money and dignity and go somewhere else. And by the way, Magda, if you can read this, save your time and don’t reply to me.

The environment is still amazing for a little dancing, drinks and some humor, with the Trobadores and more importantly an evening out with family! Food is delicious the Gorditas are Yummy and the empanadas the best!

Great Columbian food in a fun & lively place. Tried it on a slow Wednesday night, service was prompt & efficient. Food was great. Arepas, chicharrones, tostones & churrasco. Expensive but the food & portion ns were good! Will go back for dancing on a Friday night.

But nothing spectacular. Fake plastic jungle inside. If you like that kind of setting, you'll feel right at home

Inexpensive, friendly, great food, large portions. What else can u ask for? Singing comedians. If you don't speak Spanish make sure someone in your party does as you'll likely be the subject of a humorous song. Food is good fare but for the size and price, excellent.

I finally got the time to visit this restaurant after friends bragged how good this place was. I was impressed with the decorations around the restaurant that made it look like an authentic colombian restaurant. The enpanadas were greasy to begin with and after ordering the bandeja paisa and a bistec the food looked appealing until I tried it. Boy looks can be deceiving!. The bandeja was very bland and didn't have that authentic taste. The food was ok at best and price was steep but the service was great and very polite.

Very popular colombian/latin american restaurant, good for family parties. They don't take reservations so you need to line up for either the 7pm or the 9pm weekend show. Restaurant is usually very full, interesting folkloric decor, and varied menu consisting of mostly colombian dishes. The service is good and fast as they aim to feed you and be done with the meal before their 8pm or 10pm show which consists of two balladists who stop at nearly every table with funny lyrics. In spite of the rush, the food is good, and so is the service. There is better dancing music after the late show, not so much with the 7pm seating as they are trying to get you out to sit the next group. Prices are reasonable. The meals are not gourmet but they are good and one goes for the entertainment and many families are there with their children as the decor is disney like. Interesting experience for young and old as long as you plan arriving early or making the line until a table becomes available.

Bad attention from the Captain of Waiters, we called in advance in order to get a table of 9 people, we were told that when we arrived there would be enough space, however even though the captain's unPro attitude was empty, he MURDERED THE SALE, that is when the client becomes a hindrance, they literally kick you out of the place, because I kindly requested that a third table be placed and replied, I only have that table that was assigned to them, it is your option if you want it there is no more, How? I nodded to him if there is only that table, I turned around and told him but it is empty, yes but they are booked for 6 pm, and I better take my family and get out, not before paying the 18 dollars valet parking of the three vehicles. Pro attitude, so maybe the food will do the job but watch out for those people who kill the effort of others.

THis sunday it was 2 years in the passing of my father in law. I planned a family get together to celebrate the life of my father in law and all be together and celebrate. I selected Pueblito Viejo Restaurant since it was the last place that we had visited prior to him passing. What can i say our experience was wonderful. THe service that we receive by the person that took care of us was incredible. We were a total of 20 and he didnt miss a beat. The food and entertainment that we received was great to celebrate the occassion. It was perfect timing since a famous Cuban Singer was filming her video and the family was able to participate. My father in law was a humble person but love his family and wanted his family always to be together and enjoyed music and good food. THis was a perfect way to remember him. Love it love the people, service and food. Great experience Norma

Good, hearty Colombian food . Juices and bandejas are excellent . But service is ridiculously slow . Like, no excuse

I come back from time to time to this place because it's awesome ... very good service, very good meals ... this place keep it up with the same quality since many years ... waiters are very kind and explain anything on Colombian meals ... Carne Asada is deliciously tender and full of flavour ... Tostones Ahogados excellent ... well, everything is very good, also with valet parking. Don't hesitate to try this place.

The food was great, everything we tried from appetizer to dessert was tasty - my one and only complaint was the noise. They have music blaring most of the time and then they play music videos ( for some reason even louder ) - the noise level definitely put a damper on a great night with friends.

We ordered empanadas, they were ok. Our bandeja paisa was a different story. Beans were cold, could not eat the meat, poor quality, full of nerves, chicharrones, not the best. Asked for agua de panela and nata desserts, they didn’t have either. Our waiter was awesome! Will never go back!
Awesome food!
The food is great and the attention is great. I love to go on Saturday nights but it is tough to find a table. I recommend the Churrasco it can fill you up.
