The restaurant ambience was lovely, the food and service were okay. Our bill came to $350, we left a $65 tip, $415. Our waiter came out of the restaurant and chased us down the street yelling at the top of his voice, “excuse me was there something wrong with your service?”!!!! I have never been so shocked and appalled at the audacity rudeness and sheer nerve at a waiter not happy with enough tip!!! Still in shock!

I took my daughter there for brunch. Not 15 minutes after we ate and left, we both were sick. We ordered shrimp n grits and The Cure. Maybe it was chicken sausage that did us in. The shrimp and grits were luke warm. Who knows, but we will not be going back.

Loved the place for its ambience - both indoor and outdoor. The food was delicious - whatever we ordered came out looking beautiful and tasty. The serving sizes were big and we loved each bite.

Excellent food in pleasant surroundings! The wagu burger is in the top 3 best burgers I have ever had. The lamb screwers are excellent as well and served with naan, humus and cucumbers. The servers are busy but the young pleasant lady who is manager was awesome and made sure we were well taken care of. Location in the heart of the village makes it a nice part of an afternoon or evening.

This is a really fantastic bar/restaurant scene obviously based around NZ cuisine/culture. Great menu & wine list, attention to detail, phenomenal service, won’t break the bank. Epic fish n’ Chips, the best I’ve devoured in the USA in 15+ yrs. Many healthy or not so health options available to cover whatever you fancy..Stands out from the many alternatives in town. Going back..

Beautiful place! The hanger steak was to die for! Servers were prompt, drinks were fantastic and they had their own NA menu

Appalling restaurant experience due to an extremely unprofessional staff member. I spent about $200 on brunch with friends, including a generous tip. At the end of our meal, the waiter confrontationally accused me of not tipping, which was completely untrue. His behavior was erratic and irrational. Despite my calm explanation about the tip, he continued his unprofessional rant. As I left the restaurant, the waiter chased after me, words were exchanged, and he started to loudly use expletives in public and continue to accuse me of not tipping, which was entirely false and defamatory. My friend had already confirmed with the manager that I had indeed tipped and signed the check as normal, debunking the waiter's claims. Regardless of whether a customer tips or not - which I did, of course - it's absurd and classless that a waiter would confront and provoke an altercation with a customer. The restaurant, however, is seemingly spinning a completely false narrative implying I provoked the altercation, ignoring the waiter's misconduct. I am astonished he wasn't immediately fired for his false accusations, public outbursts, and attempting to start a physical altercation with a customer in broad daylight in La Jolla. There are plenty of better dining options in La Jolla, so I'll be avoiding this place. As a local, I plan to share this terrible experience with my connections in the area. It's shocking that not only did the waiter behave in such a manner, but also that he wasn't dismissed immediately for his actions. My friends and I have never experienced or even heard of a waiter acting like this at a restaurant, ever.

We had the lamb skewer plate, beet salad, brussel sprouts & the burger with fries. All very good. Many options & prices were fair. Service was a bit slow, however, I think our gal had a lot of tables to help. would go back.

Simply beautiful restaurant inside and out in La Jolla with good food, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were very accommodating of special requests and the food was delivered promptly and was very tasty. We sat outside for our lunch which was very pretty and it's just as gorgeous inside. Thanks for a lovely experience.
Cute comfy space offering healthy takes and comfort food
This is an Australian or New Zealand themed restaurant. Yeah, forget that. It doesn't make any sense to me either. I would describe it as a cute, even sexy, garden themed restaurant with lots of sitting, working, drinking and smooching places throughout - indoor and out. The menu is comfort food - burgers, weekday brunch, New Zealand specialties (think British food like meat pies, fish and chips, and shepherd's pie), and salads. I ordered avocado toast from the weekday brunch menu, and it doesn't qualify as a test of the place's culinary chops, but it was ample portioned, covered with fresh vegetables, and yummy - especially with their housemade hot sauce. Also the bar is lovely and I look forward to saddling up to it later and testing their dirty martini skills.
