What to try a Ramen Bar tonight and this one didn’t disappoint! Almost walked by it, it is a small placed but well worth a visit! Lindsey was the best waitress! She suggested a cocktail called “penicillin”...I took my medicine...I even took two!! We ordered the special for the night, beef brisket and also the spicy miso. So good we even ordered an extra bowl of noodles! Then for dessert we ordered ice cream....loved the surprise half way down the cone! This was a great meal for our last night here!

It was the first time I ate in a ramen restaurant and I liked it. The food is different from what I usually eat. Fast and courteous service. Good value for money.

Here is another example of why anyone visiting Chicago should visit more than just Michigan Ave. This restaurant sits a few blocks west of Michigan Ave. They are a part of the LEYE.com group, one of the best chain restaurant groups in the county. If you like Ramen I recommend this place. I also recommend getting a reservation if you plan on getting during normal dinning hours. It is also one of those rare places where you can visit as a couple / date night, family, business or just by yourself. I cannot wait to go back.

Any meal that begins with a Kimchi Bomb and ends with a Spicy Yuzu ramen bowl is going to be memorable! Get plenty of pork buns, because sharing can get ugly if there is an uneven number; they are fantastic! Bring a credit card, they don't do cash (how 2018!). Starting your evening across the street at Ballast Point isn't a bad idea either, andtry the Sculpin IPA.

My family and I were visiting Chicago for a long weekend and returned from a long day of activities looking for a place to get some noodles and/or rice. We located Ramen-San, which was open til midnight. We arrived around 10 pm and were seated immediately. They were moderately busy at the time and became increasingly more busy during our stay. They have a promo that begins at 10pm. I ordered the special with rice and chicken, my son had pork, chicken and noodles while my wife tried the dumplings and my daughter had the chicken and rice also. The server was very helpful with recommendations and stayed on top of our needs. When the food arrived, everyone received but me. I noticed our server behind the bar speaking with a lady. Before I could flag him down about the missing meal, the lady (Manager) came over to apologize that mine had accidentally been delivered to the wrong table. She explained that they were firing up one on the fly and that she had already taken it off our bill. She turned a problem into a positive. They handled everything very well and professional. My dish arrived with a couple minutes and everyone was very happy with their meals. We will visit again the next time in the city.

So, it's really good, I just thought it was better in January. Server was great, but the food didn't have the overall wow factor. The szechuan wings didn't have a lot of flavor, over the sesame seeds. Squeeze a little lime on them. The xoxo shrimp dumplings were excellent. The crispy Berkshire dumplings were good, just could have had more flavor, I think the meat filling wasn't mixed well. Some had great flavor, and you could see the scallion, the ones that didn't wow, didn't have scallion mixed in. It wasn't the lack of scallion, I think it was the overall mixing. The tonkatsu ramen, extra egg, was great, but even better when you add the ramen pepper.

After seeing Hamilton, we stopped at Ramen-San for a late dinner. Their late night fried rice was like no other I have ever tasted and the wings were perfect. If I lived in Chicago, I'd be a regular!! Delicious!!!

Now on Huron off Michigan. Hip atmosphere- excellent Ramem selection. Try the matzoh balls and be sure to order frozen dessert at the end in cone - with surprise bottom.

All I can say is this is a must try restaurant if you are in the area. They have wonder the most wonderful food and the service is outstanding. I have been here two times now and both times the experience was wonderful. The service is above reproach and the best in the area. The ramen noodles remind me of my soup in Japan. This is a must try establishment. The photos I attached are just an example of the wonderful food. I went to lunch today and was still spot on in food and in service

I love Asian food and Ramen-San does not disappoint. A bit creative in the presentation, so expect to be surprised if you are a traditionalist. Ramen is great, gyoza was flavourful, the waitress was very attentive with recommendations, I will certainly be back.

We dined here on a Friday night during Spring Break. Having been to Japan recently we were eager to try the ramen here. My husband and I had the pork buns and the Tonkotsu ramen. The ramen was average but the buns were great. I had a bottled Sapporo which was warm and flat. My daughter had the shio ramen and it was average. I agree it would be a great place for a date but maybe stop for a drink and a mantou bun before or after going elsewhere. It was cold and rainy when we went and the tables close to the door complained about the front door being open and letting in the cold air. We had a reservation and still waited awhile for our table.

This was our first ramen experience and it was so good. This place has a great ambiance with good music, bar, staff, and view when doors are all open to the outside. The food was amazing. I loved everything we ordered. I am so sad we don't have this restaurant in Florida where I live.

While LEYE is a restaurant group consisting of many great restaurants, asian cuisine is not their main strength (as I found out with their Big Bowl brand). Their spicy miso ramen was a-OK. I was disappointed that they use ground pork pieces and not slices of pork like traditional Japanese ramen places do. Plus, it is overpriced as adding a la carte items could easily push a ramen bowl's price to $20 or a bit more. This is probably not for hardcore ramen fans with high level of expectation like me.

I’m a huge ramen fanatic and this place doesn’t disappoint. I just moved to the city a month ago and I’ve already been here four times. I recommend making a reservation as this place is always so busy (just an indication of how good they are)! Every time I’ve been the service has been great, food hot and quick to come out, and taste is amazing. Don’t just try the ramen either...the wings are good too!

Buns were good, ramen broth was ok, service was good but yet they forgot to bring few dishes ... it is ok place for what it worth but not our favorite

Short and sweet, buns we're well seasoned and the special brisket ramen is a game changer. If they have it, you must get it because it sells out fast!

The atmosphere is nice and has a hipster vibe. This was something we thought would be different and unique to try. The chicken wings were amazing as were the dumplings. I got the signiture raman bowl which was just okay. At $16 a pop i expected a little more. Drinks were very good. for 3 people we spent $100

I should have written this review 2 months ago but lost the business card! First and foremost I want to talk about the service. We had Marie and she was fantastic! I have an issue with Gluten and Dairy. Marie was very knowledgable about the menu and had some options for me. I did cheat and eat the tuna stack (not called that but should be lol) and trust me it was worth it. While I was speaking with Marie about other menu options, my husband snuck and ate my last layer of tuna-Marie laughed and promptly brought me another layer which I though was awesome. The drink menu is very fun and we tried a couple of mixed drinks. I wish that gluten free noodles were an option because some of those noodle dishes looked so enticing!!! I would have given 4 stars because of this-but the service made me give it the extra star. It's casual, it's in a fun part of town with easy parking. I say give it a try.

We have dined at Ramen-San and enjoyed their ramen. Due to the fact we have a high risk member of our family, we decided to order our dinner via Doordash to minimize coronavirus risk. We placed an order for 5 Tonkotsu Ramen which was slightly over $80. We noticed the portion size was a little smaller than when we dined in the restaurant and all of our Ramen was barely warm when we received it. If you are craving Ramen from Ramen-San, I would suggest that you dine in the restaurant instead of having it delivered. We did not enjoy our meal due to this experience. Could we have put the Ramen in the microwave for a few minutes, probably so but paying $80 for this and then having to warm it up doesn’t sit well with me. I will only dine in the restaurant from now on.

Somehow I've missed out on ramen until now. What a mistake! I went here at the suggestion of a colleague from work. She had the special ramen of the night; I still wasn't sure about noodles so I had some tuna tartar and pork belly and chicken buns. Fortunately my colleague insisted I try the ramen, and OMG it was incredible. Besides port, I am not sure what was in it, but it was delicious. And our waitress was fantastic. Great with recommendations, sharing personal stories about trying different dishes and her own personal weakness for their donut holes, which were even better than described. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Chicago.

We had stopped into a few other restaurants but they all had a long wait. My teenagers wanted ramen so we stepped in and they told us the wait would be 45 mins and put our name on the list. After waiting close to an hour our table was ready the manager apologized for being late and sent us a free chicken appetizer already in the making as we sat down. The waitress was amazing and explained the menu and the Japanese tea delicious. The food was awesome, large portions, fresh and tasty. I wish we had someplace like this at home. This is a must stop for lunch or dinner, the family really enjoyed it and the service was superb.

We wanted something a little different for dinner and this place delivered. They were extremely busy so grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited about 15 minutes for a table. We tried some wings, buns and the ramen...everything was top notch. Very cool place, excellent service and delicious food made for an enjoyable visit. You cannot go wrong with any item on the menu.

When you walk into RamenSan it feels very urban, great fun music, open atmosphere and just a bunch of energy. Lines can be long in winter, but it's worth the wait. Usually summer time you can get in and out pretty quickly. The Ramen tastes absolutely amazing and my favorite dish is the Spicy Chicken Kimchi. It's sooooo good! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is coming into town to get a slice of life from Japan.

We went for a lunch menu, which was abundant. The food quality is very good, especially the ramen. We sat outside, so that the music was agreeable and not noot loud.

Our team had a great dinner and the atmosphere is great...seats are a little uncomfortable if you are sitting in the center section but still well worth it.

One of my favorite places for ramen. I love stuffing my face full of a childhood favorite (I'm Asian), while jamming out to 90's rap music (also from my childhood). The baos are great, sushi is great. I am honestly usually way too full to try dessert. This place is very busy during normal dinner times, so I would recommend a reservation or be open to sitting with strangers. Well, even if you do make a reservation, you may be seated at a communal table, so if that is not your thing, maybe not the best place to go. But that is kind of the true ramen experience. The music is loud, and the ramen flavors are experimental (in a good way), so this is great for younger crowds, but this is not the best place for say, my parents. They still enjoyed the food, but I know it was hard for them to hear us talking and the food was probably a bit out there for them.

Very urban atmosphere down to the true hip-hop music selection as the speakers boomed an eclectic palate; from KRS-One to Kanye West. Not quite what I was expecting at all for a ramen joint. But for my personal taste it was a plus. Well laid out, very roomy but somewhat cafeteria style, meaning you may be sharing a table with another group if your party is really small. But food...OMG! We started with the pork belly bun with spicy mayo and cucumbers. That was amazing! We also had the tonkatsu ramen, which was traditionally flavorful, featuring melt-in-your- mouth pork belly as well. Yeah I love swine! And the kimchi and fried chicken ramen, which had a pleasant kick. This is a must go, and next time if it's not so hot we'll sit outside.

Great lunch spot, yummy ramen and fun early 90’s music. The lunch special hit the spot. Quick service.

My group ordered a variety of sides and different ramens. The pork belly and chicken bao buns were good, we enjoyed the meat, but the buns didn't rise to the level of "great". The ramen were all very good, the noodles were cooked well and the broths were all tasty. My only complaint was the service, extremely slow. In all fairness the place was very busy, but when you have reservations, you expect better service.

Service was delightful. Food was delicious. Everyone loved the ramen dishes that they ordered with the spices and sides. This will become a staple in our Chicago visit.

We visited based on past reviews and it was great. I love the variety and the small plates because there are lots of options to share. We had ramen, dumplings and Mantou buns. We loved and ate EVERYTHING.

Great place for lunch. Delicious food and large portions. Everything seemed very fresh. Prices are reasonable.

I've had Ramen at Multiple Locations, Ramen-San is delicious! It doesn't matter which ramen you choose but my favorite is the kimchi & fried chicken ramen. Great food and fun atmosphere. Outside dining options available.

Fun atmosphere, delicious food, nice cocktail selection - make this one of my favorite places to eat at in Chicago. We have been here for lunch and dinner and each time it was a good thing we had a reservation or there was a wait. The lunch special is a great value and the menu is at the table - not the traditional one they hand you when you sit down. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We love the dumplings, wings and especially the Ramen! If you get a chance stop in after 10pm for the late night fried rice. We tried last night but they sold out of it by 10:20

Made a choice to go for ramen. Not an easy task in America. Found this resto, thru Tripadvisor. For Friday we were lucky to get in. Make reservations for Fridays and Saturdays. We had to sit at the bar to eat dinner. The bartenders were good at being food servers. I was surprised. We had the wagyu gyoza. They come on a plate with what we think was fried milk. It made the dumplings impossible to pick up and not rip the dumplings. The taste was ok, but I would not order them again. For mains, we had the spicy miso ramen and the kimchi, fried chicken ramen. Both were very tasty. Portion size was more medium than large. Having had ramen in Japan, it was decent ramen. But we had better in the USA. Our drinks were diet coke and Asahi beer. Overall, we would try another ramen restaurant.

I had a nice ramen bowel and would go back. It the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and good service. The ramen was good, but I would pass next time on the spicy chicken dumpling as it came out more as a rangoon presentation. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. Still would return.

Had lunch here yesterday-the express lunch which they described as smaller portions but still filling. It was very filling! Ramen plus rice bowl plus salad -a lot of food for the price. Rice bowl was great-ramen was OK. Salad was salad-not special but definitely fresh.

I am more than happy to went here and eat by myself :) All the flavors and plating was 10/10, I will definitely come here again and recommend to others.

We don’t eat ramen where we live but wanted to try it and we’re so glad we chose RamenSan! Our server was incredibly outgoing and helpful. He wasn’t standoffish when we asked questions or for recommendations. The restaurant plays 90s hip hop and has a casual vibe while still taking reservations. We ordered a mantis bun, the worlds best Brussels sprouts, short rib ramen and spicy fried chicken kimchi ramen. Ask about the sauces and sesame seeds in the tray! They add a whole new layer of flavor. The ice cold beer was a perfect compliment. If you’re hesitant about ramen or a pro, make a reservation and go! It was delicious!

The staff here was very helpful, and the ramen was absolutely fantastic. Even my extremely picky wife loved it!

Used trip advisor to find this nice ramen spot during a last minute trip to Chicago. This place was great, they had some cool music pumping through the place while everyone was eating their ramen. If you are looking for a really quiet place to eat your ramen, this isn’t the place for you. We are a family of 4 and 3 of us had the Tonkatsu Ramen which is a traditional pork belly ramen. The broth and everything else in the bowl was delicious. The other person ordered a spicy miso ramen and also added an extra spicy chillie topping and it was really spicy. We showed up at 6:30 pm on a Saturday without a reservation and there were no tables available so I recommend making a reservation in advance. We waited about 15 minutes for a table and I’m glad we did because their food was awesome. There is not too much room in the place to wait for your table so you just have to squeeze in where ever you can. I highly recommend this place if you want ramen for dinner. Also, I noticed there are a few tables outside so if the weather is nice, that’s a good option as well.

Terrific ramen! Wonderful menu options. Both beautiful presentation and tasty consumption. Great service, decent prices. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

Traveling alone so I sat at the bar. Was very popular and the place was packed -a good sign in my eyes. Bar tender made great recommendations for cocktails and food! Started with a chicken bun which was amazing. Went to the pork Ramen for my main and was not disappointed at all. Very good meal with exceptional service. Highly recommend as a break from Chicago Pizza :)

Ramen selection was decent and the food itself was good. Price as your typical downtown Chicago prices. Didn't know they were part of Lettuce Entertain til i got bill.

You could eat outside or in a very cool (temperature) restaurant. We chose outside and if you aren’t used to the weather, I baked. Food and service was exceptional. Just about everything we tried off Starter menu was fabulous. Must try the pork belly bun! The gochujang cream noodles was fabulous which we will try to create at home.

It looked for Japanese restaurants online and I found this place close to my place .. I didn't like here .. It is one of the very few restaurants that i wouldn't even think of going back .. The meal wasn't tasty for me. The restaurant was so noisy, loud music! And I think it was expensive when i saw the next day other similar Japanese restaurants in the area. The menu was confusing .. It should have had information about vegan choices, allergies ... Chicago is a diverse city and restaurants usually consider that different customers would dine there.

Delicious broth and ingredients eg. Chashu. Large portions. The sumo bowl was huge. Matcha puff was huge. Unlikely one can finish it after finishing a serve of ramen. Extensive list of Japanese whiskeys. Fun and attentive service. Noodles were over cooked. Quirky ramen specials eg. Green curry duck. Quirky fusion atmosphere. Non-stop loud old school hip hop soundtrack not very Japanese. But fun nonetheless. Overall fun and tasty. Recommended and would come again.

I’ll keep it simple. The food is very good. Ordered take out on a slow Monday night and they got the order wrong. I ordered and paid for two pork belly buns and received one fried chicken bun. The container even had the correct info on it so no excuse for getting it wrong. That being said it was delicious and I would go back.

Unassuming but great flavors! Victoria offered great suggestions. Eggplant fingers were delicious. Great music while eating, dimmed lighting.

The place is cozy, the waiter was friendly, however the soup wasn’t as good as expected. The pork was a huge bacon and I didn’t have the taste of a real Ramen.

A very hip little place with excellent food, drinks, and service. The buns were amazing. We tried the Pork Belly Bun. Not spicy but full of flavor. We also had the Tonkotsu Raman, also with pork, bamboo shoots, egg and the best broth. If you want to spice it up there are plenty of condiments in front of you. For drinks, I had the Cilantro Lime Rita and Penicillin #2. Rita had just a hint of cilantro but the P#2 was heavy on the ginger and delicious. There are a wide variety of Sakes and Japanese whiskeys.

Ramen-San was conveniently located right around the corner from my hotel, which made it an easy walk for some great food. I stopped in at the beginning of their happy hour, known as Lucky Hour (3-6 pm, Monday through Friday). The vibe was mellow with a chill atmosphere, and the classic hip-hop (1995-2010) playing throughout the restaurant set the perfect mood. I sat at the bar and had a great conversation with the bartender, who gave me some solid recommendations. I ordered the Karaage Chicken Nuggets and the Penicillin cocktail from the Lucky Hour menu, plus a pork belly bun. The Penicillin, made with whiskey, was outside my usual comfort zone, but since it was my birthday, I decided to try something new. I'm glad I did, it was smooth, balanced, and delicious, comparable to a Bee's Knees, with honey and lemon juice that stood out without being overpowering. My food arrived quickly and piping hot, clearly made fresh with a lot of care. The nuggets were hearty, well-seasoned chunks of chicken in a perfectly crunchy coating. The pork belly bun was another winner, the meat was tender, and the spicy mayo complemented it perfectly. To top it off, the bartender surprised me with complimentary dessert donuts for my birthday. They were served hot, with a dipping sauce so good I kept eating it after the donuts were gone. I really enjoyed my time at Ramen-San and am so glad I stopped in for a late lunch. Between the food, drinks, and hospitality, it was a memorable experience. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Chicago!

We ate here twice during our weekend stay in Chicago. The three ramen dishes we tried were all delicious (especially the fried chicken kimchi), and we had great service both nights as well. We’ll be back when we are in town!

To my surprise, I had two very good meals here during my recent Cubs baseball trip to Chicago. My first meal I had a Mantou Bun which was fried chicken in a bun with shredded cabbage and Japanese mustard. It was pretty good. I also had the Tonkotsu which had some charred pork belly in a traditional broth with half an egg over ramen. It was quite tasty. I came back two days later and ordered the Sumo Bowl. This rather large bowl contained charred pork belly, xo wontons and crushed spicy egg and corn over ramen in a somewhat spicy broth. It was delicious. I am generally not a fan of Asian fusion places but this one is quite good. I later learned that Ramen-San is part of a larger chain of restaurants and the menu was created by some Korean American, not sure how true this is. But no matter because the ramen was excellent. And I highly recommend it especially for a late night meal after a Cubs game or some drinking.

I ordered a bowl of tonkotsu ramen with extra garlic and love it! I ate ramen noodles in Japan before and this place has the best ramen noodles in the Midwest!

My friend and I were very impressed with the ramen. The chilli pork was especially nice for a freezing winter evening. The queue was long but the service was good!

The spicy kimchi and chicken ramen bowl was delicious and the matcha cream puff was the right touch of sweet! We loved the food!

Top notch ramen bar located in the heart of Chicago. Delicious food and a fabulous vibe. A must do if you are in the area in Chicago.

The place is typically crowded for lunch time due to the location downtown; ramen is good although not excellent. Other dishes are regular Asian American fusion oriented. Staff is helpful and friendly as it should. The "soundtrack" is strangely (although welcome) hip hop instead of the regular "oriental music" to create the ambiance. Price is according to the location.

Every city needs a go-to place for ramen - and this fits the bill. The location is convenient for visitors to the shops on Magnificent Mile. As for the food, ramen places live and die by the broth and mine was just fine. Not hot (as in temperature) enough though. Noodles tofu half a soft boiled egg and a lot of chopped scallions. With a side of Chinese broccoli which had the subtle tang on broccoli rabe.

My friends and I (seven of us total) went here on a cold weekend. We made it there around 9 almost 10 and was told it’d be about a thirty minutes to an hour wait. We decided we were gonna wait. Not even 5 mins later, we received a text from them that our table was ready. Five of us ordered spicy miso ramen and idr what the other two ordered. My ramen came out pretty good but wasn’t spicy enough for me (but that’s probably Bc I love spicy food). My favorite part was definitely the noodle. I like firm noodles so they really nailed it on that one. We also ordered pork & shrimp steamed dumplings and sticky Thai wings. The wings were too sweet for my liking and imo not really “Thai” (I’d know, I’m Thai.) but I get that it is Thai inspired so I’m not holding that against them. Despite it being too sweet, it was crispy so that’s a plus. The dumplings though, they had this smell (like a porky smell, can’t really explain) to them and honestly that was a turn off. Now, the chairs...they’re wooden chairs. They’re hard on the butt. Three of my friends had to stand up to eat their ramen Bc the chairs were really hurting them. Lol The atmosphere is pretty nice. The lighting is dim af for a ramen resto. But I guess that’s their concept so I’m not complaining. Overall, the food is good. I enjoyed it. Would I go again? Honestly, no. But I’d recommend this place to people that like to go to places for the aesthetics. But if you’re a foodie like me, skip it.

I crave ramen all the time. I can't get ramen often because I'm gluten free (intolerance). The Vegetarian tantan-san was amazing!!! Wonderful, flavorful broth and yummy vegetables with gluten free noodles. The mushrooms were fantastic. This place is the real deal. We ordered delivery every time because we were beat from our day, it was a little cold the first time but still fantastic. My daughter loved the xoxo shrimp & pork and ordered a double order our last night. The yuzu lemonade was great too. I highly recommend it! It's a don't miss in my book. Loved it!

They had the best music playlist of 90s hip hop. The food was good. It took a long time to come out but there was a lot of people so didn’t mind waiting. The salmon was cooked well and the ramen broth had flavour. Egg was a little overcooked and not a bit runny like it is meant to be. It to forever to get the bill and pay. We had to ask multiple times and finally stand up by the door. Many others had to do the same. Would give it a second shot.

Out and about with my teens. Swung in Sat around 5pm. I had never heard of the place before, and my daughter wasn't even so sure about the idea of Ramen. Well now she's a fan, and I'm a huge fan of this spot. Can't say enough good things. Food was delicious and packed with flavor. Place had great vibes, and the staff was awesome. We agreed my son had the best, which was the spicey kimichi and fried chicken. Pretty spicy, but seriously legit!

We were starving and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were very attentive and it came really quickly. The portions were a good average size.

Ramen-San is a fun atmosphere with amazing food. Loved the pork bun, rocked my socks! Then enjoyed the pork pho ramen. Helpful and attentive service. A great experience!

I'm usually very hesitant to check out new restaurants and Im not really big on noodles but this place made me a believer! It was a cold day in Chicago and we stopped in and got one of their incredible Somo Bowls. For $16 you get a bowl of perfection with a nice hot broth, noodles for days, pork, dumplings and more wholesome goodness in that bowl! It was nice and hot and perfect for the cold weather! Then the music and vibe was incredible, very chill and relaxing, great for a friends hangout after work or nice lunch by yourself to decompress and unwind. The people are very friendly and eager to help!

Went here for an early reservation as they were so booked on a Friday night. Great atmosphere and awesome service from Pablo. We had wings, Ramen and a couple of side dishes. We had an issue with one of the dishes and it was immediately taken care of which was perfect service and very well handled. Couple of drinks and we were good to go. Would return.

I love ramen but it’s not always easy to satisfy a ramen craving during the workday. That’a why when I discovered Ramen-San’s express lunch it changed my life! The deal includes a smaller sized ramen (not too small, the perfect size actually), a rice and meat dish, and a salad. It’s actually a lot of food for a lunch deal, and they bring it out fast enough that I can have a quick sitdown lunch and still make it back to the office before anyone notices Im gone. I recommend coming here solo for lunch and sitting at the counter, or with friends for dinner. Yum!

My sister and I traveled here recently, for a girls trip and of all the places we went, it had the best service and food! We sat at the bar and came back a second time. This is a must stop for your trip. The raw tuna and kimchi ramen were our favorites!

My boyfriend and I arrived around 8 or so on a Saturday night so the place was very full and the hostess said the wait would be an hour or more. Then she said we could sit at a large communal table with another group and they could seat us immediately - that was great! We got sushi for an appetizer, cold beer, two different kinds of ramen, and the soft serve cones for desert and it was all amazing. One of my favorite dinners I’ve had in Chicago. I loved how they have seasonal flavors of soft serve. The options they had when we visited were peppermint and cinnamon. They also don’t have actual TVs but were projecting the college football game onto the wall in three different places. Cool atmosphere, friendly staff, all around positive experience and would return.

The vegetarian Ramen was good. Brussels sprouts were good. Anna our server was excellent! The location is convenient. The music is loud.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff! Yummy & fun menu with lots of options-kid friendly Ramen option as well. The smoked salmon nigiri is phenomenal! Great location to Northwestern and Hotels in area as well.

Since opening their doors, Ramen San has been a mandatory stop for dinner when visiting Chicago. Having lived in Asia (and kids in college) Ramen has been a staple in our lives for years. The menu ranges fro items for the happy carnivore to the dedicated vegan with all dishes being consistently high quality. The drink specials are always worth trying, top shelf liquors and never a rush to get you out the door to make room for waiting guests. The only reason I rated a 4 this trip was the refusal of the waitress to ask if I could have a fried egg on top of my Ramen as found in Korea versus the Japanese molten egg. She stated chef will not make special requests, which was a disappointment. Otherwise, it will not deter from Ramen San being a mandatory stop next visit.

Super food! Ramen tweaked just for me. Fab doughnuts! Fabulous staff and great service I’d recommend the old fashioned cocktail

I'm a Japanese, a ramen lover. Tried Yuzu Spicy ramen here, and disappointed so much. If it was $8, ok. Buy was $16 all in. Never be value for money. Store staff was good, by the way.

Enjoyed our night here. Great service and good recommendations. Can't go wrong with Ramen. Also, we all liked the glossary provided on the menu so we didn't have to ask a ton of questions. Great place for solid Ramen experience.

We got a bowl of the Tonkotsu ramen, and it was delicious. Not to mention our waiter was fantastic. I wish I could have tipped him more. He checked with us making sure we had everything we needed as well as answering all our questions. The atmosphere was also great for getting together with friends. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a meal.

We ordered 2 different items, both were phenomenal. I had the coconut curry shrimp ramen. Their online menu has pictures of every item. They apparently have a feature ramen per month and I try that one. The wait was about 20 minutes but we were told 45. We are both soup lovers and this did not disappoint. Service was great and prompt.

Good. We came here for a before dinner “snack” after a long drive and ordered two ramen bowls among the four of us. The traditional pork belly and the spicy fried chicken one recommended by the server. I thought both were good, but surprisingly the fried chicken dish had more flavor. Also, the bowls were quite large and easy to share. The service was friendly and efficient.

I took the tam and it was too epic for me. Not all ingredients are listed on the menu, so I was surprised to find nori. I had to flip the dish because it's too spicy. They accommodated me and remade the dish and it was good, but stop by to go back. Watch out for the bill, he was charging me two proteins instead of one.

The food was great. The attendant very helpful and very nice. Great for a late night meal with friends or with your special one. BTW, they are open until 1am!

Very good Ramen, very flavorful, loved the roasted garlic flavor in the broth. Also had the mantou bums the steamed buns were very delicate but nice with the pork belly and chicken.

Great place if you like Ramen. Very cool hip vibe, but unpretentious. Very friendly and helpful staff for a first time visitor. Food was great and great music and cool warm hip environment. I would suggest this place for a date, or dinner/ lunch with friends

Really tasty and eclectic ramen spot in river north. Some unique ramen choices. Some traditional some very eclectic. Really like the texture of the noodles. Great music choices especially if you like hip hop.

This is one of the best meals we had on a recent trip to Chicago. The ramen was piping hot. Quality ingredients. The sides (crab rangoon and gyoza) were hot and very nice. The atmosphere was fun. We enjoyed the music.

I went with my 2 year old and my husband. It says its a Whiskey bar as well so i was afraid it might be inappropriate for my daughter but there were a couple other families there also with their kids. So it is kid friendly. We had the Brussel sprouts, pot stickers and tried the shrimp and chicken ramen. The food was delicious I have recommended the place to many friends. My daughter had the pot stickers and they have a plain ramen for kids which she also loved. Place is small but not crowded and i did go on Saturday early evening. Will definitely come back.

Good spot just off the magnificent mile for hot bowl or ramen on a cold winter night. Generous servings at a reasonable price. If it’s busy try to order straightaway otherwise you may be waiting for a while.

The place is neat and decorated with modern style. Service is nice and efficient. Not overly intrusive and genuinely caring. Food is delicious. Ramens were delicious Music, mainly rap, might be a bit loud

A wonderful place to enjoy a very good ramen!! No words needed go and eat.. We been a couple there after a long walk in Chicago and we been very hungry and this was the place to go!

It was probably some of the best ramen I have ever had. I had the sumo ramen which was a bit spicy but very tasty. Our server, April, was very helpful in ordering and helping my husband figure out which ramen to get. Something nice and hot on a cold fall day.

We had a light lunch at Ramen san. The food was enjoyable but the music was horrible. I had expected a ramen place to be quiet and play soothing music, but this place played loud hip hop. Unfortunately we were desperate for food. The ramen was ok and the service friendly.

I love ramen San!!! It has my favorite ramen in the Chicagoland area and it is open pretty late. The pork belly ramen is delicious

I had a tonkotsu ramen. Food was decent. I’m Japanese and grew up in Tokyo eating ramen. Definitely Americanized, but I can say one of better ramens that I had in the US. I would come back again. However the service was rather too long and took a while to get out. But very nice to pop in and eat when you feel like eating ramen!

The food is great. We had ramen and dumplings! The service is very good and the price is fair. I recommend this place!

I would say one of the best Ramen I ate lately! In a short visit to Chicago, I checked some restaurants close by my hotel. Luckily I found Ramen-San. I went to try out. It seemed busy though, but without any reservation I got seated quite fast. And I got surprised how good the food was. The bartenders were really friendly as well. Definitely worth a visit :)

Broth was rich and savory had the proper mouth feel! Pork was tender and tasty. Noodles were plentiful with a tenderness that complimented the pallet. All together a very good bowl of ramen.

We really enjoyed it here. I ordered their limited edition smoked brisket ramen. The brisket was absolutely delicious. I believe there were mushrooms and a few other items in there along with egg and it was very good. It had black garlic in it which I liked at first but then as I kept eating it started to taste more OneNote. My son ordered the karaage chicken nuggets. He commented that they are really good for him to even say anything is unusual. The inside look nice but we ate outside because the weather was great. I’ll probably go back here and try something else.

Hip place to be. Go for lunch and ask for the special lunch menu. Good choices and a lot of food. Very satisfying!

My sister & I tried this restaurant for lunch. We both got the $15 express lunch - comes with half size soup, a small protein, small salad. I chose chicken broth ramen with steak skewer & my sister got the pork broth ramen with miso salmon. My chicken broth comes with a big piece of nori - not a fan. Should have taken out. But overall, a tasty lunch option!

This place is probably even better when it’s cold and windy in Chicago. We ordered the kimchi fried chicken bowl and the pork belly and tempura shiitake mantou buns. Everything was delicious. Service was attentive and enthusiastic. The place was cozy and dark. There were a lot of people there on dates, and many seemed like first dates. We finished the meal with ice cream. The strawberry flavor was light and fruity as promised but no as small as expected.

This is a very busy place. Make sure you have reservations before showing up. Or ready to seat outside on cold day. We opted for later. But it was worth it. Excellent food with refreshing spiciness and warm sake, unbeatable combo during chilly day. Strongly recommended.

Very nice place with a good atmosphere and friendly service. The sushi was wonderfull and the ramen perfect. Surely a good restaurant to visit.

Been to plenty of Japanese or Ramen restaurants. This one is nice but there is really nothing special. The place was jam packed but I'm not really sure why!!

Have been here multiple times and was never disappointed - tuna poke is amazing as is the soup - most times had the vegetarian but chicken broth

We’ve been making tonkatsu at home for years but every time we tried eating ramen out we were disappointed. It always felt like an afterthought or like the restaurant was trying to twist it into something it wasn’t. Not Ramen-san. We had the tonkatsu and the sumo ramen and a pork bun and it was amazing. So freaking delicious with lots of choices for what to add and they even had to go containers if your eyes are bigger than your stomach. The atmosphere was also fantastic; good music, sports projected on the brick walls, friendly staff. Everyone seemed to having a good time. Fully recommend this place. Go if you get a chance and enjoy!

Ramen very good but you have to choose well. Mali very good. Donuts also good, cream brûlée with tea not top. Nice but very long waiter.

Lettuce Entertain You Group has opened a third Ramen-San restaurant, this one on St. Clair in the space formerly occupied by Tru. The menu includes a large number of appetizers and 6 types of ramen bowls to which you can add ingredients. We sampled the Tonkatsu and Spicy Miso bowls, the latter being very salty. Both were hearty meals on a very cold January night. The restaurant looks like a backwoods bar and has mostly high group tables. For reasons unclear to us and our wait person, the playlist is rap music that seems out of place in a Japanese oriented restaurant. Reasonable prices.

I loved my Sriracha Chicken Ramen. It had the perfect amount of heat spice and textures. My daughter has a number of tricky allergies (dairy, eggs, nuts) and the waiter was very patient to help navigate her way so that she ended up getting the Tonkatsu Ramen bowl with tofu noodles. Every thing was delicious. Highly recommend.

Food was delicious, service was top notch and the atmosphere was on point!!! We ordered the Spicy Szechuan Wings and Karaage nuggets and both were so delicious! The Kimchi and Fried Chicken ramen had just the right amount of spice and hit the spot on a chilly evening in the city! We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and checked on us regularly. The place was full, but it made for a nice vibe to close out our evening. I would have given them 5 stars but it was only our first visit and I'd love to try a few other things first. We will be back and definitely recommend!!!

Perfect stop on a rainy day in Chicago! Had the Tonkatsu ramen w/sesame oil & wonton. Customer service was welcoming, patient with questions & attentive. The broth was tasty w/spicy kick. Also had the doughnuts w/miso caramel. They were lightly fried, would have preferred a bit sweeter dip. The ramen was the main draw & worth the walk - give it a try!

I love Ramen-San! I’m a big fan of the 90s hip hop and overall vibes of the place. The service is top notch, recently we had Ryan, who was super great to us. Ryan introduced us to the hot donuts. Ryan I’m forever in your debt. Ryan, I miss you xxx I always get the tantan-san with an egg because I’m vegetarian, and baby I eat it all up and get kae-dama (extra noodles) when I’m feeling fruity (a few yuzu margarita’s down). It does confuse me though when I order an egg and I only get half the egg. Gimme the other half of my egg Ramen-San. The tofu is just straight silken tofu, which I like but it’s nothing special special. My partner had the limited edition shrimp curry special and after asking them to tone down the spice (he has no spice tolerance) he said it was really good! (High praise from him). On our second visit to Ramen-San this trip, I tried the edemame hummus and it was just another reason to want to go again.

I have perfect experience in Sushi-san, so that I wanna give a chance to Ramen-san and now I think it's a bad idea. Ramen-san usually have a waiting line for over one hour on the busy dinner time without reservation. When I first came in, that checkin lady was on the phone for a delivery order and it took more than 5 minutes for waiting someone talk to us. The ramen is over-priced, you will pay 15-18 bucks for a regular ramen before tax. I don't know what's the average price for a japanese style ramen in Chicago, but you will only need $10 for a high quality ramen in Los Angeles. Anyways, I ordered a spicy miso ramen, and I could barely find some tiny meat in the ramen and it cost me $20 including tax and tips. The most important thing is, this ramen wasn't taste good, and the quality of noodle and soup wasn't good as well. I cannot image how could this ramen place be so hot in Chicago, only for the fancy environment like a club?

So much I loved about this place! The food had such depth in flavor and was delicious. Our waiter, Javier, was super attentive and gave great recommendations. The photos don’t do the taste any justice! By the way, loved the old school hip hop bumping in the background! Happily eating my ramen while swaying to Tupac and Eric B and Rakim. Too cool!

This is some of the best ramen I have had in the US. This place can get crowded and have a wait. I have been here a few times since it opened and it has always been great. Now when I am in Chicago for a few days I plan on stopping in. They have bar seats that are first come... They have a good section of whiskies. They have a few different types of ramen, rice plates and appetizers. I love the pork belly buns and wings. Good Service and good price. They usually have loud music so it can be difficult to have a conversation among a group. They have a few seats outside on the sidewalk. I really enjoy the additions you can add to your ramen. I am big fan of the bok choy and wantons.

I don't know just can't a good Ramen place in the US, last year I found one in Chinatown Chicago but since most use ground pork or beef for Miso Raman, out side the US you get slicked pork and an egg, not in the US except for Chinatown, you only get this with other Ramen. The meal was OK but I would have enjoyed it more if it was served the way I have had Ramen all over Asia.

Went to Ramen-San on a Sunday afternoon. Enjoyed the old school hip-hop playing while we ate. Thought the Express Lunch Boxes was a novel idea, ordered one and had a great well rounded meal. I brought my dad with me, he had his first restaurant ramen experience, he really liked it. I have been to a number of ramen restaurants and thought this place was just average. Food was good, it just didn't blow my socks off.

Decent ramen but nothing special. Very loud rap music and a very crowded restaurant. If you're a ramen afficionado you might want to find someplace else.

Starters, Main and Desert were totally delicious. Fresh, health and tasty! Loved the decor and friendly service!

Excellent ramen and good hiphop tunes. The bench seats warm your butt on cold days wish it were closer to me..

Location is perfect for a Quick Lunch or if you go to Dinner be sure to check out Three Dots & a Dash across the street afterwards... Sit at the Bar for full service and a nice chat with the Bartender (he even let me try a shot of smoky goodness). I ordered the Shiitake Ramen - with it's thick and so good mushroom broth, several chunks of tofu, fried shiitakes, many other fungus, tokyo wavy noodles and an added Molten Egg - perfect. I also recommend the Sticky Thai Wings, xoxo Shrimp/Pork Dumplings, Garlic Pea Tips & Pork Belly Mantou Buns. Order the Express Lunch for a Real deal. Wash it down with either Penicillin #2 made w/Iwai Whisky or a Japanese ol’ Fashioned made w/Taketsuru Pure Malt

Had to catch a quick lunch and this turned out to be the perfect place. They have a ramen lunch special that was not only a great deal but had spot on tonkotsu ramen. Served with miso salmon, rice and salad- more than enough food. Fun relaxed atmosphere.

Server was really nice. Delicious food. I got the spicy chicken dumplings and also tried the tonkotsu ramen and really liked both of them. Highly recommend

We found Ramen-san after a late night show on a Saturday night. We walked right up and were seated immediately with no wait and no reservation. The ramen bowels were fast to come out and absolutely delicious. We also went for the pineapple soft serve which was comparable (or dare I say even better) than Dole Whip. Highly recommended.

We had Ramen and chicken wings with Szechuan sauce. The chicken wings were very super crispy. Tasted very numbing spicy. The ramen itself tasted good too. It is a little bit pricy for the ramen. The place was packed. We will be back again.

Enjoyed the Pork Ramen and appetizers, Chicken Ramen was served cold and bland. Host was very abrupt, but the waiter was very good.

I was in town for a conference and stopped in for lunch. I sat at the bar and ordered the katsu tonkotsu. I would call this ramen just average. The broth was decent but the noodles were not much better than the cheap dried noddle packs you can buy at the store. It wasn’t terrible ramen but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there again.

Dining solo at the bar was the right way to go for this tasty dish of noodles. I went for the daily special, FATTY RAMEN. It was the right way to go. Side of gyoza was five pieces of heaven as well. Service was attentive and quick. Drinks were cold. Company was delightful from the staff to fellow patrons. Don't be discouraged if there is a wait; it will be worth it.

I had an excellent lunch at the bar of this restaurant in downtown Chicago. The ramen noodle was delicious and so was the pork belly bun. Service at the bar was great!

Our college-age son wanted to take us out for ramen, so we went expecting styrofoam cup fare. We were pleasantly surprised by the practically gourmet noodle bowls we received with BBQ pork, spicy fried chicken, and beef.

Everything we ordered was delicious and would definitely go back next time I'm in Chicago! Great ramen!

Good food, a little over-priced but then it's in an excellent location. It is somewhat spicy, so ask before you order. Fairly clean although it does get a little bit crowded. Overall, good place.

If you are a fan of Ramen & beer at the same time this is the best place in Chicago. I absolutely love it from the the food, beer, the service & location. Thank you Loren our waitress she’s so friendly & wonderful. It’s very quick we got the table and the food came very fast. Highly highly recommended it. Love to be back again ❤️

Good: good kimchi ramen which was not spicy. Easy location to walk in downtown. Clean bathroom. Bad: music selection.

Very nice restaurant in Lincoln Park. Outstanding sushi in modern beautiful location and great service. Waitress was super helpful and friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the various menu items.

My wife was looking forward to having her birthday dinner at the River North location. We have been there several times and have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere…This time however was a bit different. While the food was still delicious as expected, unfortunately both of our rounds of drinks were forgotten. Our initial drink order was forgotten and we did not receive them until after our appetizers were already eaten. Our second round was also forgotten and in fact never arrived yet we were charged for them on the bill. In the end, I had to request for the second round to be removed from the check. The severely delayed first round of drinks would have been forgivable but to have it happen a second time and then be charged for drinks that I never received was a bit annoying. The waitress was somewhat apologetic but ultimately the service issues contributed to my wife’s special night being somewhat disappointing. We will return for a night out because the food is excellent but probably won’t spend any special occasions there in the future.

The music alone will put you in a happy place. The draft beer is amazing! I highly suggest the wings and dumplings. My husbands first visit and he was in agreement that this place is amazing!

I went here on a date for Valentine's Day and it was so good, the 10 hour tonkotsu felt like it was made with love and I loved the crumbled egg it had- it was a nice touch. The pork as well warmed me up so quickly. I also loved the atmosphere and how the lights are dimmed, but enough to see the food in front of you and not hurt your eyes at the same time.

There are a lot of ramen places in River North. You would choose Raman-san if you're looking for less traditional ramen dishes. I had the Kimchi and Fried Chicken ramen and my wife had the Tartan-san (vegetarian) and we both loved them. The broths were delicious and the ingredients were fresh. The kimchi in my ramen wasn't super spicy but it was flavorful. They have collaborations with other restaurants to create new and interesting ramen--when we were there they had a matzah ball ramen as a special. A lot of people pack in there but we were very comfortable sitting at one of the booths along the wall. The music is loud but not too loud.

We went with high expectations. my partner liked the spicy Chicken ramen but it was a bit dull for me. The fried aubergine was really good though. Good service and quick serving. Would like to try the maki shushi next time. Looked really good when they were serving the other tables.

This used to be me go to ramen place in the city. They had a ray good vegetarian mushroom ramen with a gorgeous deep earthy broth. Came here again today and that they took that off the menu permanently. The vege option now is a boring and bland shio ramen with bland tofu and bland molten egg. Tastes like instant noodles with over cooked noodles. The Brussels sprouts, which are usually great was over fried and burnt. Will not return again; too bad when a good place loses the plot.

Absolutely amazing ramen shop. Prices are super reasonable, the atmosphere in the place is great. All of the sake options are great, but I wish they had a few more nigori options. Highly recommend this place!

Best ramen I've ever had.. great atmosphere and great food. Waited a bit for the food but was worth it. Spicy ramen is amazing

This stuff was indistinguishable from $1 grocery store ramen. The people that run this place don't know the first thing about ramen...or maybe they do since they're the best businessmen in the restaurant world. Perhaps they bank on YOU not knowing the difference....and bank they do. It was just so so tasteless and so so bad. So what's a GREAT ramen..? Google "Arigator Ramen Shop Warsaw Poland" (I know, right...?!) ....and look at the images in Google Images. The taste is 10,000x better than the photos. This is real ramen by real ramen lovers. Furious Spoon in Chicago was the best ramen until their financiers told them they couldn't afford to deliver such "homemade love" to each customer without going bankrupt. So they changed their recipes to make things as cheap as possible. ....and nobody knows how to do that better than the business people behind Ramen-San. This place is great if your date knows nothing about food, taste, quality or global travel. Fix it. You can do much better. Do your homework on ramen.

No one at our table was less than THRILLED with their experience at Ramen-San. We shared Wagyu Gyoza and the Raw Tuna Appetizer for starters, and each had a Ramen. So so good! Knowledgeable and accommodating service. Great drinks and atmosphere - definitely would recommend!

Horrible ramen. Salty and drinks used cheap alcohol and mixer. Yuzu margarita left medicinal taste in my mouth. Ramen broth was not homemade. Everything tasted processed. Don’t go here for authentic ramen. It is a bar that serves noodles on the side for people who want to get drunk. Hip music and buns were ok but nothing to write home about. Avoid !

I enjoyed Ramen-San so much the day I found it that I went back two days later and took another friend to show them how good it was. It is such a cool little place with the brick walls and the ALMOST communal seating setup. The old school rap is great as well. Grab and ice cold Asahi off the tap, get an order of buns and the tuna tostadas and whichever Ramen sounds good to you. Just make sure to check out the add-ons as well. It really is tremendous

Having said that, it might be the best ramen in Chicago. I had the Fatty Ramen the first time by their recommendation, and found it too salty for my taste. But my tonkatsu the next time was much better. And the Chinese broccoli was better than the Brussels sprouts in my estimation. The music is very loud and on the days that we visited, all rap music, which seemed odd as the clientele did not seem the sort that would like so much rap, but the food made it worth visiting twice anyway. Definitely would not choose it for a romantic date, based on the rap music, and maybe not for a business meeting for the same reason. But if quite ambience is not an issue, it’s suitable for everything else.

Plenty of variety of Japanese food to pick from. Ramen has generous portions with good umami. Chashu made from pork belly tender and very flavorful

Actually surprised to find all the positive high marks on reviews here. We dined for lunch due to the positive reviews and were sorely disappointed. We tried the tonkatsu ramen and all we tasted was salt. The broth lacked the full umami flavor one expects out of ramen. Noodles were cooked to our request and liking and pork was cooked well too. The egg was lackluster - only half, not seasoned, and someone had really failed at peeling mine. Service was good too, staff friendly. Just wish the broth had been better!

Stayed at the Hilton right across the street and my daughter convinced me to take her there for dinner. Never really thought of ramen as a dinner option, but so glad I caved into her request. I had the kimchi and fried chicken. Great! They said spicy and they were right, but with great layers of flavor. My beautiful date had the tonsanoki, rich and decadent and packed full of flavor. Would visit again!

Ramen-San has the best best ramen I've found...when they are on their game. The problem is consistency. I've been here many times and always get the tonkotsu. While always good, there are times when the meat is way overcooked or too fatty, or the broth is more or less flavorful. But even on the worst days, it's damn good.

Very, very yummy ramen and brussel sprouts. This is a perfect way to end the night. Will go back. Great quick service, late night food option

Spicy miso ramen was great, I added bok choy and fried garlic and it was sooo good. The waiter was very helpful in making suggestions on items to add to our ramen selections. Our group also had the sesame tuna with avocado appetizer - highly recommend it! I wasn't quite up for an alcoholic drink so I ordered iced tea. It was a canned green tea, unsweetened and I was pleasantly surprised at how great it tasted. I would love to go back to this restaurant when I'm in Chicago again! LOVE it!

Great authentic Japanese ramen spot. Came here with some friends and we had the wagyu gyoza, karaage chicken nuggets, sumo bowl and tonkotsu bowl. Food here was delicious and very authentic. We added all of the spicy sauces, pepper and additional seasoning. Broths were pipping hot and delicious. The gyoza was prepared very differently with a thick layer of dough on top. Definitely order the sumo bowl if you want a a larger size bowl. Its tonkotsu broth with more heat and added meat. Definitely worth the up charge if you're craving a lot of food. They pack it with a lot of meat, runny egg, dumplings and veggies. Loved the high chairs and vibe here. Only thing I'm really giving them a star off is for the long wait. There was literally no one there and we had to wait almost 30 minutes for our ramen. Other then that the food here is on point and prices are reasonable.

We enjoyed dinner here on a recent Sunday evening. We rocked up without a reservation around 7p and had to wait 20 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait. The service was warm and friendly, and the smoked brisket ramen was delicious. The gyoza, the dumplings, and the buns were delicious too. We’ll be back!

After arriving to this restaurant, I unexpectedly had to leave, and found that the restaurant is able to pack up to go ramen by sending the broth in a separate plastic tub from the rest of the ingredients, so I was able to enjoy my lunch in its entirety the next day. The ramen was chewy and delicious. The Szechuan chicken wings were pretty spicy, so be prepared, and I didn’t even use the dipping sauce (which I had to discard at the airport).

I have been to many great Ramen places across the East Coast so I was excited to try out what Chicago has to offer. What it had to offer was awful. To be fair it was an order to go but I have had amazing experiences at every state from North Carolina to Boston taking Ramen out. So that should not be an excuse. I have the spicy miso and it was amazingly bland, the noodles are literally what do you would get out from a pack of Cup a Noodles. All for $22. Avoid this place if you have had a positive Ramen experience elsewhere. If you haven’t, then this is probably OK. Actually it’s probably not OK.

Tried the vegan and chicken ramens and they were both great, flavorful and rich. The edamame hummus was also excellent. Very friendly service.

Good ramen. Convenient location if you are downtown. Not a very extensive menu and not all ingredients are listed on the menu items. Service was good. The pork was really good. If you like spicy food, get the kimchi with fried chicken. Very flavorful ramen. Love the vibe of this place. Will definitely go back. I recommend reservations, as this place gets busy.

Very good food. Tonkotsu Ramen excellent. Watch out for the food devils, it’s indeed spicy! Alcohol a little expensive, sake lacked heat. Still a great experience.

Such a hip, fun vibe in this place. Menu is very full, everything you would want. Staff goes out of their way to explain and make a joyful experience! Peppers were so tasty. Loved the variety we got to taste. Could easily get two meals out of this. Nice variety of canned teas and fresh!

We came here for lunch on a cold windy day. We arrived before they opened and they allowed us to wait inside the restaurant until they opened. The food is delicious and authentic. We’ll definitely be back the next time we visit Chicago.

Their Kimchi and Fried Chicken Ramen was great. The server walked us through the menu and pointed to favourable options. Our food was served in reasonable time. The music could've been on the softer side. Overall, a great experience. Would definitely visit again!
Try the lemonade!
My spouse and I ate here and liked the vegetarian ramen we got. But our favorite thing was the lemonade. It was made from some Japanese fruit (yuzu, we think?) and it was AMAZING. It was tart, not sweet, in this really rich way. So good, would love to go back and get it again.
