Very Good and Original

By Jorge M |

It is a very nice restaurant with plenty of space to park although you have to pay for it. The place is very nice an the food is very original Mexican 9like tamales (that are really great), Cevoche Negro (also great) and many other things. It's a little pricy. Their tequila selection is excellent.

Had a great time here last weekend. We kind of stumbled in here, weary travelers, lost luggage, oh our tale of woe. Place was upscale and food was great. Green salad was massive. Caesar, too. Wish we had stopped there. Flavor indeed. Street Tacos -- fish for son, veggie for me -- were loaded. I especially liked the complex flavors that blended well and the hint of spice. Tempura mushrooms better than steak. That night they were, anyway. Booze was a bit over priced. As the food portions were huge, my one drink was a Fernet. Even Lucy, our server, thought it smallish. She was great. My son's mock tail was pricey and took too long. Would return. Check it out. -- workingman's gourmand.

Mexican restaurant with a very good location.

Abundant food with very good quality, typical Mexican food and very good presentation. Luxurious decor, very friendly service, right on the doorstep of Santa Monica Pier, mid-high prices. Highly recommended.

Well worth it

The food is phenomenally good. We had the shrimp ceviche and it was without a doubt the best appetizer I’ve ever had. Next visit I might just order two of those and let that be my meal. The decor is stunning and the service provided by our waiter Izzy was top notch. Highly recommended.

5 Star True Mexican

This was a first time visit with non biased expectations other than all the good reports we have seen or heard about. We arrived at 3:45 pm with parking right at the front door. Beautiful entrance with large historic wooden doors into a very open high ceiling bar area. The bar is long and well appointed with great soft seats so we decided to eat there, especially since the dining room does not open until 5pm. Normally we would start with Margaritas at a Mexican restaurant but we decided on he Russian River Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay. Great glasses, sparkling clean perfect, for celebrating my wife's Birthday. We started with chips (Thin, crispy and full of flavor), salsa (Chunky and spicy) and guacamole (topped with tangy thin sticks of fresh radish and chopped red onion-excellent)... both very good. I had the Chile Relleno stuffed with Maine Lobster and Prawns in a cheese sauce that is to die for. Perfect best ever anywhere. My wife had the Salmon Risotto .. 7 oz. filet on top of a riced cauliflower cheesy risotto. Best she ever had. In the mean time our bartender/host "Olivia" did everything anyone could ever ask for in making our dinner a special one. Always there when we needed something and she knew each meal and how it was prepared even to the smallest detail. They offered a special dessert too for the Birthday event. See picture below. If you want a great evening and meal make sure you go to "Red O" and ask for Olivia too. Cheers

Mexican Gourmet Food

Very nice place with a great atmosphere. I would describe it as a Gourmet Mexican Food place. Plenty of place to park and very good service. It's pricey.

Great Mexican restaurant

We’ve been coming here for years - the food is good, the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Jennifer was so lovely helping my wife and I celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. My wife told me we had a lovely time and that I enjoyed myself. 😁
