I returned to Chicago to revisit a few longtime favorites. Though I moved away nearly a decade ago, my travels, both professional and personal, have taken me everywhere but back to the city that once felt like home. After an inspiring jazz performance at the MCA, I treated myself to dinner at RL, a place that holds many fond memories. Even with a full dining room, RL continues to embody the elegance and attentiveness I remember so well. I was pleased to be seated on the patio, which felt spacious and comfortably cool for a late August evening. The ambient sounds of the city added a familiar rhythm that made the experience all the more special. For those unfamiliar with RL dining, I can say with confidence that the high standards associated with their fashion brand are equally reflected in their hospitality. The staff were gracious, professional, and remarkably composed, even when faced with a situation that disrupted the atmosphere. While they couldn't control a guest who allowed their hyper-reactive and socially aggressive lap dog to disturb others, the team handled it with tact, care, and discretion. I'm sincerely grateful for their thoughtful approach and commend the entire staff for maintaining such a high level of service and grace.

As per the title. I must say that every time I visited the locations of “Uncle” Ralph ... they have always been very positive experiences. Style is a leitmotif that distinguishes all the restaurants of the well-known brand, not only in the interior furnishings but also in the service and quality of the food. Classy location in the city center. Ranked attendance. Perfectly laid table, every detail of the room is not left to chance. Wide menu but not too much, especially land but also sea. Traditional US dishes with classic well-cooked meats. Very good raw material. Attentive, punctual and friendly service. Average cost per person between $60/80 per person (plus drinks and tips). An experience I Recommendation if you like the elegant and tasteful genre ...

We had a delicious supper at RL. The ambience at the place is terrific! The service was polite and attentive. We chose the Lake Perch and the RL Hamburger (with everything!) The only let down were the french fries. My husband could tell that they were the frozen type, not made from fresh potatoes. Given the pricing, they could have been using fresh potatoes. He did mention this to the waiter. For dessert, we both chose the Brownie with vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate sauce. Honestly, I could swim in that chocolate sauce! This is my favourite restaurant in Chicago.

We've dined many times at New York's The Polo Bar and a couple times at the defunct Ralph's Coffee and Bar in London (Ralph's in Paris is next on the list). This was our first visit to RL in Chicago. It's clear where the recipe for success was born. Exquisite food. Superb service. Intimate yet lively ambience that feels both exclusive and welcoming. The vespers are killers! Loved them. Lobster bisque second to none. The ribeye was grilled perfectly. Don't miss the coconut cake!! We loved dinner so much, a couple days later we returned for Sunday brunch. Crab cake benedict. Amazing French toast. Ask for rose royale (with pamplemousse). The perfect brunch cocktail. The service is what you'll notice the most. From the hosting desk to the servers ... friendly and professional insisting on creating the most memorable experience for their guests. We loved it. It's a big reason to plan a return visit to the great city. Thank you, RL.

There was a Zagat survey several years ago that stated that the top restaurants in most cities are differentiated by their service. Truly the case here. Service is spectacular. Friendly, caring, attentive without being overbeing. RL classic menu items, but always done to perfection. I had the sole, wife had scallops, daughter and friend had the RL Burger. All wonderful. Pricing not for the faint of heart, but it's Ralph Lauren, so you should not be surprised. Reservations a must. Go at off hours for better chance. Try to sit in the main room and see if you see "someone". As classic as the Ralph Lauren clothes store right next door. From here, walk up Michigan Avenue for a true taste of Chicago.

The place is so popular it is like a human Rubix cube. Just making it past the tables and waiters with trays through a narrow passage to the elevator to the bathrooms is an exercise in patience. I think all would have been fine if I had avoided the featured items. I ordered a $30 ahi burger that the waiter described as "sashimi grade ahi". YUM! 40 minutes later when it arrived it looked like a hamburger patty, well done. cooked through and through. I would have described it as a "fish burger" rather than "sashimi grade". The waiter (he was very apologetic) agreed and it went back, traded for a lovely crab and avocado salad off the main menu, delivered quickly. The table next to us had two diners that ordered the ahi burger, and they had the same response. I watched them lift the bun and wonder aloud what it was... certainly not the $30 sashimi grade ahi burger they ordered. One of their orders was sent back as well. The waiters certainly work hard there, constantly in motion, and the delay in our food delivery was likely related to some degree of understaffing, but I do not know what is happening in the kitchen... The waiter did not charge me for my meal, and he was lovely. But we had one meal during our brief trip to Chicago, and I feel like we wasted our opportunity to dine somewhere extraordinary by choosing the RL restaurant instead.

This is my second time eating there and both times were a great experience and excellent food. You might be surprised that a RL store would have a great restaurant? I got the Perch, which is the best I have ever had anywhere. The ambience is pure RL and the service was excellent. I wish the RL was restaurant in other cities,

Perfect in every single wayJoseph was friendly, efficient, professional and cool throughout! Though the table next to us turned over 2+ times, we felt welcome and unhurried (we ordered enough to justify it, but not one bit of pressure!)It all reminded us of why we come to RL again and again to celebrate New Year’s - a quality, posh and FUN experience - We will be back again. Soon. Happy 2022!!

On the recommendation of the Concierge at The Talbott Hotel, we selected RL for our "Girls' Weekend Birthday Luncheon" for our guest of honor. It was the perfect choice as we were able to have a table on their charming outdoor patio. The service was impeccable and the staff offered excellent recommendations as to what were the must-try dishes on their enticing menu. Plate presentations were beautiful and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I selected the lobster roll which was absolutely scrumptious - served on a toasted golden brioche bun. What's not to love! It was a wonderful dining experience and we all look forward to a return visit.

we made a reservation and it was great, clean and extremely Ralph Lauren showcase great photos everywhere and a great energetic atmosphere. The staff is prepared and look the part, the food was great, and drinks! Sorry I can't remember what I ordered it was a long weekend of eating and shopping!

We were looking for something special in Chicago and, boy, did we find it! The meal was outstanding, the atmosphere terrific, the staff professional. Have the scallops. They are the best ever. Great drinks too. An absolute must!

Place is small and tables are too close to each other, atmosphere is good, service is pretty slow, their menu is limited. It is pricy as well!

Ralph Lauren is widely recommended as a top place for classical food in a warm and traditional ambiance. When people note a lack of creativity this may be true, but in best cases their preparations over the years have reached perfection. So, from my last visit I want to point out two unbeatable and divine desserts: Key Lime Pie and Cheesecake with berries. Thickness of the crusts, textures, proportions, taste - everything was perfect. Never to miss.

Anyone looking to experience a real, old school Chicago restaurant should make a point of eating at RL. Personally, I am a fan of their lunch--nothing beats a Club Sandwich and Crab Louie after a long day of shopping on Michigan Avenue. Definitely a moment to splurge, but very worth it.

We tried to find a restaurant close to our hotel for a birthday dinner. Came across RL which is across the street from the Park Hyatt on Chicago Avenue. We had an early reservation and were seated immediately despite many people in the bar front area. We were seated in the back in a cozy two person corner booth/table. While we were by the kitchen door, we loved the table as we can people watch the entire restaurant. My husband is a vegetarian and found many things to eat. We started with salad and a great bottle of wine served to us with the history by a sommelier which was nice. Next I had salmon and my husband had the vegetarian pasta with pesto. WE both enjoyed our meals. WE added crispy fires to the meal as well. WE had the chocolate layer cake for dessert and their amazing coffee for dessert. Service was attentive and everyone worked as a team to ensure we got everything we needed. It was a great experience and while a bit costly was worth every penny.

Located next door to the eponymous store, this is a delightful restaurant, with very good food and service. The tables are a bit crowded, especially inside. Outdoor seating is lovely, when weather permits, despite the noise of E. Chicago Avenue. The bar is quite busy, since it serves those who come for a cocktail, those waiting for a table, and those at a table waiting for their food. The interior is cozy, with dark, wood-paneled walls, and lots of period paintings. The menu is continental, and not very extensive, but everything listed is prepared to perfection and elegantly served. The wine list is very good, and offers something for all tastes. This time we started with Lobster rolls (Terrific!) and Escargots (Very good). The Dover Sole was exquisite and delicate and my Calf's liver was as good as my last one in Venice. Dessert are pretty common, and a bit of a disappointment for a restaurant of this caliber, but we didn't have room left anyway, after our appetizers and mains. Overall, an excellent evening, and this being the 5th or 6th at this restaurant, speaks well for the consistency of the kitchen and staff.

We went for lunch on a Saturday, and while we had a booking for a table inside, we managed to snag a table in the lounge area that gave us a view of the side walk as well as back into the restaurant great spot). We had a fantastic waiter (Jesus) who was attentive, looked after us and was also entertaining, but not in an intrusive or annoying way. It was a great vibe. We had an amazing bottle of Rose alongside my gazpacho with lobster (which was amazing), and my scallops for a main course (cooked to perfection). Would highly recommend this place - it's a little pricey but worth it.

Great customer service from Molly Castellanos and her team, will definitely keep coming back when I’m in town ! Food is perfect !

Classic dishes done perfectly and served by knowledgeable staff who are proud to work there. Who else has liver and onions and dover sole on the menu anymore?

We visited for dinner and were fortunate to get a same-day reservation, thanks to a helpful staff member. The food was excellent, and the staff was attentive throughout our meal. However, as it was our first time dining there, we noticed that no one offered to take our coats or showed the same level of interest as they did with returning customers. While it’s wonderful to see loyal guests being recognized, it would be even better if all guests were treated equally. That said, it was still a pleasant experience, and we would consider returning!

I love the very small but old-style bar and the classic old Chicago style of the dining room. All the food is great, the service outstanding, but prices are high. If you go for brunch on the weekend you can enjoy it all for a lot less than a dinner costs!

Love, love, love this restaurant. It’s always my first choice when I’m in Chicago. The service, atmosphere and food are always top notch. Great burger and the most amazing club sandwich with a fried veggie ever!

One of my favorites disappointed this time. Had reservations seated on time. Bus boy service was great, tipped him separately. Waiter service was poor. Bad service can ruin a good meal. Very inattentive. Bus boy had to arrange drinks and items we needed. Food was good as usual.

Booked a bar reservation weeks in advance for our trip to Chicago and had awful service from our server. We ordered our cocktails and once we told him we weren’t ordering food we were treated terribly. We planned on having more drinks but the server left us unattended for over 55 minutes. Had to stop someone else to even get out check. Also had a really crappy experience in the store too. The employees at both the store and restaurant are so pretentious and have an attitude. With the name Ralph Lauren I expected so much more.

The atmosphere is RL a truly warming, cozy experience, with great style, lovely staff and delicious food.

I’ve had a lot of dining experiences in my life, with most of them lacking something. This was not one of those experiences. From the greeting at the door, our was table immediately ready. The service was impeccable. Just the right number of check-ins. Knowledgeable and helpful recommendations. The food was outstanding. Perfectly prepared. The club atmosphere was friendly, welcome and inviting. I usually only write reviews when something is outstanding or awful. This one was outstanding. I can’t think of anything that could’ve been better, and this is now my new favorite restaurant in Chicago.

This is my favorite restaurant in Chicago whether it’s for dinner, lunch or drinks. Blake the bartender is outstanding. Service overall is amazing. Dover sole delicious as well the burger being the best in the city.

Just what I hoped it would be for a lunch in the city with my adult daughter. Cozy, inviting atmosphere with good food and a great waitstaff. Shoutout to John our waiter with gluten free alternatives. The RL burger and fry entree was delicious. Can’t wait to go back. The new wedge salad could use a little work with more dressing and smaller lardons. Garden salad was wonderful.

I have been here couple times and always love the warm atmosphere. We had lobster roll and RL burger for the weekend brunch and both were tasty. The drinks were pretty good as well. It’s always a nice spot for brunch or dinner in this neighborhood

First time at RL. The decor puts you totally at ease when you enter. I would definitely go back again. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I ordered calves liver and it was so moist and tender. Make sure that you leave room for dessert, the Brownie a la mode was amazing!

So happy their liver is back on the menu!! It’s the best in town! And the service was great! It’s like coming back home every time I visit!

This was one of the first restaurants we ate at, indoors, since the pandemic began. The tables were spaced far apart -- it looked like 50% capacity. The manager -- Adam -- escorted us from the curb to our table and spent time with us explaining everything. He was even kind enough to treat me to desert since he found it we were there celebrating my birthday. I hope RL appreciates Adam -- he's a gem. The waitress was also fabulous. They were extremely careful and mindful of all health concerns. Now onto the food. I ordered the lobster roll, which apparently is one of their signature dishes. This was just fantastic -- and it came with fresh cut fries that were hot and fresh and perfectly salted. I normally don't eat much of the bread in a sandwich like this, but apparently there's a reason why this is a signature dish -- the buttery bread was fabulous and paired perfectly with the lobster. That too was sweet and creamy. I had fresh home made ice cream for desert -- the coffee version -- and I must say, this was the best ice cream I've ever had. I would go back there just for the ice cream. My wife, who is gluten free, asked for the normally breaded chicken sandwich just grilled -- on their gluten free bun. She raved about it, along with the fries that were also gluten free. Very accommodating at RL. Overall this was a fabulous experience from beginning to end and we will certainly be back. The prices were reasonable, the ambiance delightful, and the people accommodating.

Enjoyed lunch here during a long weekend trip to Chicago. Lovely setting on the patio. We loved the privacy created by the boxwoods and umbrella-covered cozy tables outside. If the weather is enjoyable out, I’d recommend a seat on the patio. Great waitstaff, wry professional and knowledgeable. Wonderful cocktail menu. The Dover sole was just impeccable. Only recommendation is that you may wish to split and entree’ with your spouse, as the portions were large. Pricey, but definitely worth it. Will be jack again on our next visit. Highly recommended.

This classy little restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining. Has lovely friendly staff who engage with their customers without invading their space and privacy. The food was positively divine. Everyone must try the soft shell crab- you won’t be disappointed. 5👍 From this Aussie🙂

Popped into RL for afternoon cocktails and was able to sit at the bar, which is very small. Fabulous ambiance of the restaurant which epitomizes the Ralph Lauren brand completely- everything is completely elegant. Every space was taken and I would imagine the restaurant is reservations only because it’s so busy. Highly recommend just to experience the atmosphere. The sever ice at the bar was wonderful

I had lobster bisque and escargot. Both were delicious. Ambiance is great. It was Saturday lunch time therefor a bit crowded but we received an excellent service.

Host staff made it clear she looked down on others in line, maybe happily so or maybe paid to do so, either way, very unsettling.

We found ourselves without any of our kids, so we travelled downtown to holy name cathedral for mass and then to the nearby RL for dinner. We had made our reservation on open table and requested an outside table. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately outside as requested. Service was attentive and accommodating. I ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. For $24, I expected a little bit more then 5 medium sized shrimp. The Dover sole I got for my entree was fabulous! My husband ordered the tuna appetizer and a Caesar and said both were good. The food was for the most part very good, as was the service. Just seemed pricey for what you get. However, I’m sure you’re paying for location being right off Michigan Avenue.

Located directly adjacent to the Ralph Lauren store (this the name), this restaurant is a beautiful, classic space with spectacular woodwork and an eclectic collection of art on the wall. A wonderful space for a romantic dinner, the service is attentive and ever-present as different servers take orders, fill water glasses and bring food. The food is delicious and beautifully presented (butternut squash soup brought in a pitcher and poured over the other ingredients at the table). Not an inexpensive meal but a wonderful dining experience.

We enjoyed a superb dinner at RL Restaurant Friday evening. Over the years, we have dined at RL whenever in Chicago. The overall experience from the moment we arrived was attentive. Our server Aracely provided professional superior service. She was there when we needed anything and made sure we had everything we needed as we needed it. We enjoyed well crafted cocktails and wonderful specials of the day, including Mini Lobster Rolls and Chilean Sea Bass. The filet was seasoned to perfection. RL Restaurant has always had one of the best, warmest environments, but it was particularly wonderful on our visit Friday night.

RL is one of the classiest restaurants in the city. The staff was buzzing, super attentive but not overbearing. The place was packed so make a reservation. It's not a large room but intimate and comfortable. We had the quiche, a club sandwich, the belgian waffle and the veggie burger. For fun we ordered a RL Hotdog complete with sauerkraut, mustard and ketchup and it too was delicious. The waffle comes smothered with strawberries and whipped cream so it is not hot off the griddle. Other than that the meal was very good.

$40 for 3 mini buttered white bread rolls filled with average lobster, wines are overpriced. nice area of sidewalk tables, very cramped bar area full of noxious sexist white guys.

the RL is a great spot not only for the excellent food and lovely decor and professional service, but some of the best people watching in the city. we stopped in on a whim new year's eve for lunch, so the city was busy with holiday cheer. though we got there at noon, we were treated to a window seat immediately. every single employee we encountered was top notch and smiling, and really attentive. this was our last stop on a city stay-cation, which included a high end hotel and well known eateries, and RL was like the anchorman in a relay. brought us to the finish line in 1st place! Really, bravo guys!

I had a fantastic dining experience at RL Restaurant. The food was exquisite and beautifully plated, showcasing the chef's expertise. The staff struck the perfect balance of professionalism and attentiveness, enhancing our evening. The prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of the food. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone.

A friend recommended the restaurant. The interior is stunning. The place is well-decorated. We ordered a burger, steak, salads, the pigs in a blanket and several drinks. Total: $320 plus tip. I think it’s overpriced and the food is average to good. Our wait staff was on point and friendly. While it was a good experience, I’m not sure I’d go back.

I am a terrible snob when it comes to lobster rolls. Yet I can’t resist ordering one since I have not been to Maine in, you guessed it, two years. This one was absolutely magnificent! Truly delicious! Good thing as it was $36 dollars. Terrific service by clear professionals in a clubby place with a particularly fun photo in the women’s restroom.

Our waiter Angel was fabulous, polite, informative and so upbeat. All the staff was efficient and friendly. We are definitely coming back.

Had heard nice things about this restaurant. Had reservations there for 7:30 last Wed. evening. Arrived to a mob scene.... very crowded told it would be a 30 minute wait.... no place to wait, sit or have a drink. Many others were waiting also. We were 4 ladies from out of town.... we walked out... called another place and had a most delightful, quiet dinner. I have never eaten at an RL (two others in our group had) and have no desire to now.

Went with my daughter since it was close to our hotel. The escargot was good (we had better in Paris) but the sauce was good, breads were very good, veggie burger was okay and fries were good. I decided to order calf liver - big mistake. They prepare for people who do not like liver. It was overly sweet no acidity to balance - so I added some black pepper . Sad as I was excited with the option but no luck. Good location and service.

My friend and I were in Chicago, Christmas shopping and met friends at RL for dinner. Honestly, I never knew Ralph Lauren had a restaurant but I'm sure glad I found out!!! We had reservations, but had to wait a while for a table. It was very crowded the night we were there and the waiting area and bar area are very small. We had difficulty finding a place to stand in order to be out of everyone's way. A very smart bartender spotted us and asked if we wanted a cocktail. Well, of course we did!! What a smart bartender. Once seated at our table, things just went from great to fantastic. We were greeted by David Prainito who is the Captain and our server was Aracely Anisko. David engaged in lively conversation with us and was a complete delight. He added a lot of smiles and fun to our dining experience. The ambiance is wonderful. All of our food selections were top notch, presented fabulously and were simply delicious. My friends ordered the seafood tower and it looked amazing. The tables are seated quite close together which made it difficult for the servers to freely move around. I honestly think they need a larger space. However, this did not deter us from having a fabulous dining experience.

Came here one night for dinner and had the lovely Sarah serve us She was delightful The roasted chicken was divine as was the halibut However for lunch the next day the perch was disgusting I couldn’t eat most of it The turkey burger and fries was fine as were the oysters to start They should serve a better fish like halibut at lunch

Our first time at RL and we will be back. We found the lunch choices plentiful, the wait staff excellent, the indoor and outdoor ambience great, and the tomato soup and salads delicious. Location is, without saying. Just off Mag Mile.

Old school and excellent. The decor is a little stuffy, clubby, dark and really outstanding. The only negative of the day was when the lights were dimmed as it became evening. The highlight was the service provided by the staff and their attention to detail was the best I have seen recently. Will be back for sure.

Had a light dinner of soup and salad. Service was good and food was flavorful. Prices were high but the food was superior quality.

I went to the restaurant with colleagues and friends!! The food was absolutely delicious! The service was great!! I recommend it !!!!!

We were a group of 4 that sat at the bar for a couple of hours today. The gentlemen working the bar were all lovely and our gin/vodka tonics were good. I got hungry and ordered a burger. It literally took ages to arrive and it was cold throughout when it finally arrived. I don’t live in Chicago but did feel this place was over trendy, loud & very cramped..

I went there twice, What a wonderful restaurant! Delicious and sophisticated American food. Everything we tried was wonderful! The hamburger is to die for fantastic!!! The soup and salads wow Deserts amazing My wife favorite restaurant in Chicago Loved their Salmon main course dish U must try it Love it❤️

Perhaps underestimated because of the many trendy (some Michelin-starred) restaurants in Chicago, RL is a steady, solid restaurant with elegant ambience, great service and excellent food. The Monday evening we dined there, the place was packed, with people waiting out side the restaurant for tables. Our waiter was excellent: polite, helpful, patient and efficient. He was there when we needed him, otherwise, he was not. The Escargots were excellent and the seared tuna was perfect! Dover Sole, fileted at the table was perfect and the Veal Milanese was as good as I remembered it from my last one in Milan. A bottle of Plumpjack Chardonnay was the perfect accompaniment to a great meal. This was out third perfect meal at RL and we will be back, as soon as we can.

Aramis proved to be a FANTASTIC waiter when we had two tables of eight women at each for a 60th birthday dinner. He was jovial, attentive, and really knew the menu and what was available at the time. I loved my roast chicken dinner and he made sure I got the last order that night. You're a rock star, Aramis!!!

This restaurant has a very cozy classic Chicago steak house interior. Paintings and relics adorn the walls. Small lamps are on the white table cloth tables. The professional waiters wear white shirts and ties. The menu has several good options, without making a choice difficult. The wine list is ample. The food is presented well and is delicious.

We returned to our favorite restaurant to find that perfection still exists and is doing well. I was greeted by name and seated immediately. Our fillet mignons were cooked exactly as ordered, side vegetables delicious, and apple pie dessert perfect. Our wait staff was was the best of the best, as usual, always attentive without being annoying. Always nice to visit such a special and lovely restaurant.

We always make it a point to go to RL at least once a year around the holidays. We find the resturaunt so special that we have been doing this for at least 12 years. The food, while limited, is always good. Service, thank you Peter, is excellent. It does get crowded. This last time there must have been a mix up and the hostess forgot about us. We were seated nearly 45 minutes late. First time this happened. If you go during a peak time make sure you have a reservation and keep checking in with the hostess. There are a lot of people trying to get in to a rather small place. RL is one of our all time favorites.

I saw a few reviews about this being a "secret spot" which seemed odd as it's in a heavily trafficked tourist area on a corner of Michigan Avenue. If you're a fan of Ralph Lauren style, you'll love the decor here. Very clubby feel with heavy furniture, dark woods, etc The challenge for me was that they pack the dining room very, very tight. Tables are unreasonably close together which makes it difficult to navigate when you have to go the restroom or leave. Food was, I guess, American. Burger, Club Sandwich, Salads, and grilled items filled the lunch menu. Very expensive for what it is and not that well prepared (maybe kitchen was overwhelmed as it was pretty busy). Lobster Bisque was very thick, heavy, and almost firm with not much shellfish flavor. Bread on the corned beef sandwich was on the greasy side and the corned beef much tougher than you'd expect. Chopped Salad was pretty good. Fries that came with the sandwich were on the cool side which made sense once I realized that the food I saw being brought across the room and set down 4 tables away because they couldn't get a tray jack close to our table and then had to wait a few minutes for someone else to then come out and take the food off of the track jack and bring it to us. Service was definitely the weak link here. Maybe it was because it was super busy, but our waiter was pretty forgetful although he was very nice. Overall, I didn't think it was a good value and wouldn't recommend it.

Really cute inside. Connected to the Ralph Lauren store. Great for lunch or dinner. Burger and fries were great. Lobster roll was okay

This mainstay restaurant is consistent and wonderful in every way. Our recent visit, we were greeted warmly and without fluster upon arrival, I told them that I just found out that our party increased in size by one diner from our original reservation. They made minor adjustments and the hostess graciously sat us at a larger table without any hesitation. Our server(s) were lovely and professional. We had a head waitress with assists on water, drink, expediting and clearing plates so subtlety that we didn’t even realize they were there. The food was divine, wine list decent and accessible. The décor and atmosphere exude pure RL elegance with the rich appointments including bookcases, leather seating, dark walls and traditional oil paintings in gold frames with opera lighting. I also appreciated that while the ladies’ room was located downstairs, it was by way of a private elevator which is especially nice after a glass of wine and wearing high heels. The dining room is a bit crowded but the servers are very aware and are well-choreographed in the tight spaces between tables. Prices are up there for lunch but that’s to be expected. The escargot was delightful, the club sandwich one of my sister's top sandwich ever she said and the gazpacho with a bit of crab and avocado was refreshing on a hot day.

We had a wonderful lunch here. The food was excellent, our party had the turkey burger, steak salad and lobster roll and all were delicious. The staff were very good and there is a great atmosphere in the restaurant. The decor of the restaurant is brilliant, so many wonderful paintings and pictures to look at. Overall a brilliant place to eat.

This is a vintage spot with attentive staff, good food, strong drinks! Staff was warm, and friendly. Steven was wonderful. Would be great for a date night or anniversary. We went because my best friend thought it would be a great place to visit after she saw a blogger do a review on Facebook. I would give it a seven out of 10 stars.

We had a very nice lunch at RL Restaurant Chicago. The appetizers are excellent, try several, specially the mini lobster rolls. Wine options are very good too.

Charming, elegant and beautifully decorated as one can expect from the Ralph Lauren style. The restaurant was full but the service was friendly and fast, although the meat came overcooked. There’s also a cozy bar and tables outside. The whole atmosphere makes this expensive restaurant worth visiting.

The lying, unintelligent host and manager at RL cannot keep up with their own incompetence and dissembling. Just tried to walk in for a quick drink - they have removed half the bar stools and half the bar tables and put them inside the retail store (on SATURDAY NIGHT at 8pm). They claim that they are fully staffed but cannot keep up with the orders, and it will be ½ hour, minimum, to get a glass of wine. BS. This place is a dump and has completely collapsed. It used to be a great neighborhoody place: visitors, businesspeople, locals. There are still two or three of the original staff who know how it's supposed to run. But basically, now it's just pathetic.

One of our favorite stops for lunch in Chicago. We always try and sit in the bar side. Was a rainy cold day so perfect for soup which they have some of the best. Lobster bisque is excellent. Also enjoyed the pigs and a blanket and baked cheese with some wine.

Unfortunately, RL disappointed us. I had made a reservation 6 weeks ahead of time. I was seated at a bad table that was a major traffic pattern and then told that I couldn't pay a portion of my bill with AMEX gift cards due to problems the restaurant had with theft. I just laughed and commented that I thought they didn't want to take the time to do the transactions. I had several cards so it wasn't just one transactions. Again, I left unsatisfied by the services, the front of the house isn't run well. Seems chaotic and everyone is stressed out who works there.

This has always been on of my favorite Chicago haunts to start a great evening with snacks and cocktails. The bar is small but very comfortable if you can score a table. I always have received first class service here and my latest visit was no exception. Great location, steps from Michigan Avenue, and the Park Hyatt across the street.

Worst fine dining experience I’ve ever had. Made a reservation, took a 9 pm one so I didn’t have to sit on patio (the point of an RL Restaurant is the decor). I was given the worst table in the whole restaurant, first come bar tables were much better. I was bumped by every single server, the serve line to order drinks backed up to my table, every single person walked by me and the picture shows my view. I would have been better off on the patio. I left after 45 mins & it would have been sooner but I couldn’t get my waiter (who never gave me his name) to check on me. On top of all of it, the food was mid. Bread was cold, butter hard as ice, my bisque was lukewarm at best. I should have just gone back to Gibson’s for my big vacation celebration meal. What a terrible food experience in city with such great food

We were delighted with our dinner at RL. My husband states his crab cake was one of the top he has ever had. I enjoyed grilled snapper with tomatoes--awesome. Grilled brussell sprouts with bacon was a nice side dish. This restaurant represents the Ralph Lauren name well. The decor is classic and tasteful. The wait staff is extremely courteous and very professional! Tip: I definitely recommend making a reservation.

Amazing location right off of Michigan Ave. Service here is always excellent and the food is mouthwatering. It is a smaller restaurant with dim lighting but other than that, it's an excellent restaurant to visit when in Chicago.

The RL restaurant is part of Ralph Lauren's fashion empire and the restaurant fits like a well-tailored jacket. You walk into the bar that is styled like an old English gentlemen's club, but not pretentious and so very comfortable. A drink in the bar feeds all of your senses, particularly the excellent photographs and art prints that continue on into the restaurant. The restaurant is not large, but you don't feel cramped at your table. The food is very well selected and the preparation equally as good. Not great, but it works and will add up to a memeorable and very pleasant evening.

I just happened to walk by and discover this place. I was drawn in by the beauty and simple elegance of the restaurant. My one complaint is the hostess was rude. When I asked to be seated she looked me up and down before dismissing me to sit at the bar (I am young so this treatment is fairly common). Once seated, the service was excellent. The drinks were phenomenal and the burger was probably the best I have ever had in my life. I will make sure I stop by every-time I am in Chicago.

Great classic charm, friendly and attentive staff. The do like it if you have a reservation. Waitstaff is well trained, the cocktails are terrific. The menu has enough variety to please most people in your group. Outstanding flavors. A little on the expensive side, but the quality and service make it worth it. I look forward to our next visit.

A diner’s delight! Feels like you’re walking into Ralph Lauren’s home, between the fireplace, art work, photography and library. Food was made to order and the ambiance was perfect. Freshly cut flowers are all over the place. A little pricey, but definitely worth the stop.

From the moment we stepped foot into this wonderful restaurant until we left, we were sure that the staff had no one else to take care of because there were SOOOO fixed on making us happy. I can't remember a restaurant that was that good in a very long time. Oh, by the way, the food was to die for delicious. Atmosphere, location, food, service,.....what else could rate a 10+...run, don't walk to experience this little gem...right across the street from the Water Tower with adorable outside seating. Who would have thought that Ralph Lauren would be good at restaurants, too?

If you want a special place to celebrate a special event or just need a perfect place to meetup with friends - RL is the place. I have gone to Chicago many times over the years and have always tried to get over and enjoy a meal here. Any meal and those of my friends and family, has always been perfectly presented and delicious. The decor is very eclectic with old movie photos next to safari gear - reminds you of old Hollywood. Walk thru the Polo store and find the secret door into this special place.

I think the Ralph Lauren clothing style is behind the times but the clubby, charming dining room connected with the retail store hits all the right notes for a sopisticated but relaxed experience. Add Artamis (sp?) as a superb waiter, outstanding Caesar salad and hen-of-the woods mushroom soup prepared as a smooth purée and you have a wonderful lunch. My wife’s crab cake was also exceptional.

I highly recommend eating here if you're visiting Chicago and especially if you're a fan of Ralph Lauren. We came for brunch and the food and service was great! The decor and ambience makes the meal worth it!

On our most recent visit to Chicago, we dined at RL on a Saturday evening. The place was packed, and yet, service was attentive, friendly, helpful and timely. The Escargots, an RL standard, were delicious, bathed in garlic butter and sitting on fresh brioche. It was soft shell crab season, and RL delivered. One large crab, perfectly fried, with light batter. The Chilean sea bass was another RL standard and, again, the chef delivered: a beautiful thick piece of bass, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pan-seared Dover Sole came cleanly filleted and flavored with lemon butter. The Strawberry -Rhubarb pie was delicious, but the key lime pie stole the show.

RL is still busy and fun to visit. The staff is outstanding. And the restaurant is beautiful. That said I’ve been going since they opened. But haven’t visited since Covid. Sadly they have removed their club sandwich from the menu. I tried the burger and felt it was over seasoned and the meat too finely ground. Also gone was the excellent silverware and cloth hand towels in the wash rooms. But it was still a good time.

A fabulous restaurant and bar on the Magnificent mile. It is a gem, especially for drinks and lunch.

What luck, this room was straight out of the movies! Leather booths, linen, brass rails, mirror backs, photos, framed artwork, paneled wood, and fantastic lighting topped by the service and cuisine. We had little hot dogs, halibut, mushrooms, spinach, champagne, cheesecake and ice cream...for lunch! Every morsel was good. Still, the dining room itself--even the bathroom--was well tended and revealed care at every turn. The staff and their service was top shelf.

This was my second time at RL & it remains fantastic in each & every way... from the food, to the drink, to the atmosphere, to the staff. It is like you've stepped back in time when restaurants were experiences & not just a shuffle-in/eat/shuffle-out drill. My friend who lives in Chicago dines there every other week & it's her favorite place too. Lots of options for many hungers. We were here this go for a pre-show lunch & for my youngest daughter's 16th...It's her all-time-favorite restaurant.

Interesting diverse menu, very professional service, high end club atmosphere, handled a full house without a hiccup. Sound level allowed a good conversation in spite of the crowd. Would return.

Had lunch outside yesterday. Great weather, nice patio set up but then came the food. We had cut up vegetables. Not sure of the concept and it appears they don’t know either. I would pass. Next up, turkey burger. Strange flavoring, pass again. Although the crispy fries were good?

Well done. We had lunch on the patio and were well served by the charming staff. We had a large chopped salad and I had a crab cake. (It was not n the menu but the chef made me one anyway.) We did make reservations and there are not that many tables but it was well worth our effort. Delicious.

I didn’t give 5 stars because our table wasn’t ready at our reservation time. We had a 9pm reservation for dinner with 3 kids on east coast time so that was irritating - they didn’t offer to get us drinks at the bar or a dessert or anything. The food is delicious - they didn’t have steak tartare on the menu anymore but they made it for me which I really appreciated. The service was fine. Atmosphere, decor, and scene were excellent. If you have been here, you have been to the Polo Bar in NYC and vice versa - exactly the same.

Classic club type of restaurant with white linens and leather booths. Great artwork, impeccable service, and delicious food. Great place for a really lovely and even special dining experience.

RL has consistently had great food since it opened on Michigan Ave! Steaks, fish, and the best lamb ever served in a clubby atmosphere, with an outside area also during good weather, brings Chicago residents and visitors back time after time. Tables are tight but the food trumps it all. I go every time in Chicago!

Nice location but very overpriced with a limited menu. service was slow despite the more than adequate number of servers who were available once you got their attention (which we had a problem with as they simply stopped serving us and had to get their attention twice.). We were there to celebrate my wife's nephew's high school graduation. We were five and had four individual soup bowl orders of lobster bisque, an order of crab and avocado salad ( nice presentation), one beer (Stella Artois) and one glass of wine - $280. before tip. For those who don't mind paying $73 for a 10 oz. filet mignon, go for it. It was not the total price that I'm objecting to but the price for what was ordered not to mention the poor service and very limited menu.

Recently dined at RL for a business dinner. Service was friendly and timely and the atmosphere was perfect for a business dinner, if a little bit loud. Menu is diverse and interesting but not too big. Thus, the things they do, they do well. And for us that was a sea bass entree along with a portabella mushroom burger and salads. Thanks!

The food and service were rather mediocre. Waitress had a hard time keeping drink orders straight--and there were only two of us at the table. The "patio" is on Chicago Avenue, so it's noisy as heck. All in all, not worth the price.

THE MOST RUDE AND IMPOLITE SERVICE EVER. AT 22:55 THEY TOLD US WE WOULD LIKE TO CLOSE GET OUT OF HERE!!!! VERY EXPENSIVE AND MODEST QUALITY OF FOOD. DO NOT EVER VISIT THIS RESTAURANT….

Amazing birthday dinner! RL is my go to place for dinner in Chicago. We really enjoy the ambiance, the service and more importantly the food. Always perfect!

Loved the Dover Sole and the table presentation. The drinks and staff are top notch as well. My wife's filet was pretty tasty as well! I'd gladly go back, it is quite the experience.

Food and service was very good but the table they gave us was very cramped for 4 people. We spent $270 for good food on a horrible table inside the restaurant. We think the tables were too close to each other and our table did not even have right leg space or sitting comfort. They did not change our table even on our requests. We waited for another table but they offered us the same table even after waiting for 10 minutes. Not good!! Seeing our cramped table and uncomfortable postures, 2 ladies on our next table changed their seating positions, removed 1 chair to create some specs for us but the restaurant staff did not help us with that. Thanks Ladies!

Luxury dining with abundant energy, great service (despite being crazy busy) and superb food. This is a very appealing grand old style dining establishment that speaks of elegance, attention to style, and a fine dining experience. I was a bit surprised how "casual" it seemed given upper end price point; I guess T-shirts are always "in" for some...

Dining at RL is always special. The combination of consistent excellent (and quite reasonable for the price), food, superb service and stunning decor, not to mention the best crafted cocktails in Chicago, never gets tired,

We had lunch on a busy Friday at RL and the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our waiter is worth mentioning his name was Peter Axelsen and he was the consummate mix of professional, friendly and helpful. Bravo Peter you truly enhanced our experience. The food was beautifully presented, tasty and the ambience and quiet luxury of surroundings are stunning. RL was a real highlight in a week of highlights in gorgeous Chicago.

Great buzzy restaurant. French bistro style atmosphere. Food was very good. Had the Oysters and Skirt steak special with truffle fries. However, was very disappointed that the steak came out 20 minutes after my oysters while in hadn’t finished them (6 oysters). I was enjoying them with a glass of white one when the steak arrived at the table. Would have thought the server would have realised he was too early but instead asked me to move my phone so he can place the food down. While the food was very good, for the sense of being rushed out to turn over the table. Not what you expect in an expensive eatery.

First visit to the RL Grill. make reservations. Service and food great. Must get is the Reuben sandwich. Everything was great.

Love this restaurant and bar. Always come here on our Chicago trip and it never disappoints! Hospitality top notch as well and the food. Bartenders are excellent Will I Go Back? Of course as always

Snails, lobster, rose wine , and service from a great waitress, Would come back every day excellent and service was excellent

My wife and I took our daughters and grandchildren to Chicago for the holidays. My wife and daughter had been to RL before and said we should go. What a terrific place. The marketing cues are 100% spot on Ralph Lauren. It is small, warm, cosy restaurant. You feel like you are eating in fabulous library or study. The vibe is great. While the tables are close together it works. The staff is superior. Our waiter Tom, was outstanding. He catered to the kids and the adults. The kids had fried chicken, I had the lamb chops which were delicious. We liked the place so much my wife and I went back the next day to sneak a glass of wine. Highly recommend.

This restaurant's food and service were the highlight of my trip to Chicago. If only there were additional locations in the states.

RL does not honor their reservations! We made a reservation for a birthday dinner as we do yearly, first in NYC, now in Chicago, arrived a bit early and went to the bar. We waited about 45 minutes, then were told that the people at our table refused to leave and that we’d have to wait another half hour, waited about 15 min more, and finally left. We were told the people at our table were VIPs and they couldn’t ask them to leave. They finally asked if we wanted another table, and by that time we were over everything. They comped our drinks and we left a tip for the bartender. So thank you RL and the entitled ppl at the table for ruining our birthday plans. I’ve never felt so unwanted. This is the second issue we’ve had with RL Chicago, after years of being loyal customers and being treated poorly by a personal shopper in the store a month earlier and now in the restaurant, it may be time to say goodbye to RL.

Dining with kids: I was nervous taking kids to the restaurant as it is nicer and tight quarters. The tables are very close together. However, the atmosphere is very laid back. I know I looked for reviews with kids so I wanted to make I left one. They DO have a kids menu. And The staff was very nice and accommodating. They were great about my stroller, however it was winter and they had no room in the coat closet so I was just kinda left in the breezeway. No one batted an eye at us having kids, though mine are used to dining in nicer restaurants, they weren’t the only kids there and no one seemed bothered or annoyed by their presence. Food: The food was amazing. I got the recommended burger and you figure a burger is a burger but it was truly delicious. As a family we shared the lobster rolls and they were divine! The food was so so good! Highly recommend.

We went for lunch after some shopping. The decor remains the same-elegant/nostalgic. We ordered our lunch and told the waiter, Andrew, we did not see the Steak Tartar. To our delight he said he would have some made for us. I love the Steak Tartar at this restaurant so was more than happy to hear this. We told Andrew we were going to share what we had ordered and when he brought out our food it was already nicely divided for us. I highly recommend that when you make a lunch reservation inquire if Andrew is working that day and ask for a table in his area. His attention to our table was superb along with his personality. Highly enjoyable experience -food and service!!

THE RALPH LAUREN CAFE (aka GIBSONS) Look, in some ways it is what it is. I knew it would be overpriced but I did expect the food to be good. But before the food, I want to write about the service - the waiters have had no quality training, stand gossiping and laughing with each other, the Maitre 'D isn't interested at all and the whole experience was really sad and depressing The bill for two for lunch was $278. My main complaint was no one listens - we had a discussion with the waiter at length about 'no onions' on the mains as a guest was allergic. The dish contained onions and when my fellow diner ate it and complained they laughed it off. When I suggested they could at least take it off the bill they did not. Aside from that the remainder of food was poor. The prawns in the prawn cocktail were dry and smelt odd The Amish chicken was overcooked and tasted of cough medicine. It was woeful. All I can say is you have been warned.

The place is spotless, it exudes a true "casual elegance" that is hard to find in restaurants anywhere, also the staff was fantastic (we ended up paired with two amazing Hispanic waiters with which we discussed their poor decisions when choosing a Mexican soccer team to root for). I cannot say enough about the beauty of the location or the vibe of the place: their wine menu has a lot of variety and is properly priced (my wife had a few cocktails that were delicious as well); the only thing that wasn't up to par was the food: the menu is boring and the food isn't memorable whatsoever, if you are serving such a classic menu then the place should consider either putting a twist on ingredients (or cooking procedures to highlight a flavor) or just charge about half the price for each item in the food menu like you would see in any other mediocre "American bistro-type of joint".

This is the most social place in Chicago to lunch. The in crowd descends daily for great food and drink and to see and be seen. Always a good mix of regulars and out of towners. Surprising good selection of both food and price point. It never disappoint...only if you can't get a reservation.

My husband and I had dinner here after a drink at the bar, mine an excellent old fashioned. The Dover sole, which we both had, was delectable. The atmosphere, however, was equally impressive. It was like dining in a Ralph Lauren catalog shoot—just beautiful. I would highly recommend it.

Every time we visit Chicago we make a point of eating dinner at RL. They have a lovely menu but we always order the amazing burger and fries. They bring a delicious basket of bread and cracker bread before the meal. We were so full but could not resist the hot fudge sundae for desert. Everything was perfect including the waitstaff.

Very nice room, reasonable noise level, attractive menu. Average lobster bisque, excellent corned beef sandwich. Always busy, so make a rez. Note, however, that modest lunch for three, no alcohol, added up to about $150 with tax and tip. If you like public trans, RL is close by the Chicago & State Red Line stop. If you drive, I can recommend the SpotHero app which saved me about twenty bucks with a convenient parking location.

This upscale restaurant is attached to the Ralph Lauren store. It offers indoor and outdoor seating. Service is quite attentive and efficient. The food is excellent. We enjoyed lunch: Lobster bisque, Seafood tower, Dover sole and Lobster roll, along with a few glasses of white wine. All four dishes well tasty, well-prepared, nicely presented and quite enjoyable. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming.

The table left allot to be desired but the sommelier helped to lessen the pain with a terrific Spanish wine suggestion. The place serves good food in an atmosphere, while not really grand, suffices. Worth the visit to say you have been there or if your entertaining trendy friends but there are other better restaurants at lesser price and better eats.

Who would have thought Ralph Lauren would have such great food, drinks and ambiance, but it was excellent, including the service!

Great place to go for an afternoon coffee. I had the gluten free chocolate cake and it was divine. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was really nice. I would go there again and try lunch or even dinner.

Went afternoon, had wonderful meal, with best service we have had. Food was really good, liver, estargo, amazing everything was wonderful,at clothing store, who would of thought it.

RL never disappoints. We arrived for lunch and sat outside, which made for great people watching, however the decor in the restaurant is RL classic and beautiful. I enjoyed the watermelon/tomato/feta/jalapeno salad and a lobster roll. Both were fresh and delicious and I left very full!

Food and drinks were great, love the vibe and ambiance. Everybody was nice and we had a great time and great dinner

Warm welcome taken to our seats straight away People have complained about back corner seat but we loved our corner we could see everything happening in restaurant Lovely decor attention to detail Waiter I’m really sorry but bad at names had a earring in right side was lovely Welcoming great advice on menu and drinks Couldn’t do enough for you without it feeling intrusive Was going to have one cours e n ended up having three and a couple of cocktails each yummy Well worth the treat Icing on cake was rod Stewart sitting in same room

Absolutely 5 stars all around. Stunningly beautiful restaurant, great lounge/bar, perfect service (as in professional waitstaff, not failed actors like in L.A.; great bar staff, great cocktails, wonderful food at, for the place, very reasonable prices. A total GEM.

Great service and the staff was so knowledgeable about the decor and food. Busy spot for sure but no long wait for food or drinks. Best chocolate cake!

I live in Chicago and go out several times a week. I was treated with disrespect and felt embarrassed and was totally offended. The manager was dismissive and totally non-receptive when I brought my issues to her attention. I will never give this establishment my business again.

Wonderful dinner and experience! The food was delicious and expertly presented; the staff professional and attentive (while not being intrusive). The only drawback is the space is too crowded - fewer tables would reduce theme noise level and all diners to more easily enjoy the beautiful artwork and decor. I highly recommend RL for a fine dining experience in Chicago.

RL was recommended to us and we were not disappointed! Although it was very busy, the staff was attentive and did a great job with being efficient . The food was excellent. Many choices from steak to scallops to burgers. Highly recommend an evening at RL

My friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday and unfortunately had a very negative experience. The host, Nick, made inappropriate comments that made us feel uncomfortable, and when I reported it to the manager, Molly, she was dismissive and defended his behavior. The host continued to approach our table, asking for our social media even after we said no, and then became rude when we declined. This made us so uncomfortable that we had to cut our dinner short and leave early. Instead of feeling welcomed, we left feeling disrespected and disappointed.

RL is always a great place to eat. The location is convenient, located close to Water Tower and all the shopping on Michigan Ave. I have eaten here several times for breakfast and lunch and the food and service have always been great!

Who doesn’t like desert……great menu and nice staff who created a nice ambiance……….well worth a visit…….lots of choice

RL has long been a favorite restaurant of mine. The decor and service are fantastic. I had a soft shell crab entree that was one of the best I’ve ever had. We will return to RL next trip to Chicago.

Real highlight in Chicago. Very good food and fantastic service. Lovely environment that creates a nice atmosphere for the experience

It’s hard to imagine how many more customers they can squeeze into this restaurant! If I had a dollar every time someone bumped into my chair, my lunch would have been free! Ok that as my gripe! Food was very good, although we were not very exotic. Shrimp cocktail and the hamburger. Shrimp were huge and very good. The hamburger was good also. Be sure to have reservations? And be ready to squeeze!

We had there a business lunch. It's a perfect place. Service is excellent and the food great for nearly every taste. The wine list is fair and the whole ambient is inside very chic. Outside it's crowded and hot, but very ”in”

From the atmosphere, to the décor, to the AMAZING staff, to the always spot on food, RL is nothing short of fabulous! From the moment you step inside, you feel the class, style, and elegance that is RL. I have been here many of times and am never disappointed. I often recommend RL to friends and family visiting and/or living in Chicago. One of my favorite restaurants in the Country to have lunch. True story!! Huge shout out to Anna and Joseph! Side note: RL is magical during the Holidays. One of the best times to go.

RL Restaurant is better than great, it is SUPERB! There are not enough adjectives to describe how great our dining experience was. The food was excellent and large portions. Five (5) large shrimp were served in the Shrimp Cocktail. My wife’s escargot was excellent and the lobster roll was excellent. Save room for one of the multiple desserts-we had the coconut cake. The service was beyond outstanding. Don’t go if you are in a rush—sit back, have a great conversation and enjoy a great meal and a wonderful dining experience.

We wandered into the RL bar by recommendation from a friend. Otherwise I may not have ever known about this little gem. We had dinner plans already so we just wanted to try the Old Fashion cocktail I had heard was wonderful. IT WAS! So worth the visit for a afternoon treat. Service and atmosphere were impeccable! So wish we would have eaten there as well. The Manhattan was also delicious. Will definitely return and have meal next time too!

Had brunch which was excellent. Sat outside but inside was very special. Would not hesitate to have dinner.

DO NOT MISS the opportunity to eat at this high quality, exceptionally serviced restaurant. The entire experience (and especially the savory food) is top notch. This is what friendly service should look like. The atmosphere, friendly management, friendly staff is a rare treasure. THANK YOU, RL, for an exceptional experience! Well done!

Loce the place The atmosphere is TOTALLY a Ralph Lauren style Place is Chic and very american ! The service is more thann good Menu have excelle t price at very reasonable prices and wonderful taste and quality I really enjoyed a lot More than recommended for a lovely recover moment from the frozen chicago week end!Bruch option available I definitly will come back

We had a lovely outdoor lunch at Ralph Lauren. I had the Polo Club, it was delicious and the fries were great too! My friend had the Chicken Milanese and it was equally delicious! We had a really nice waiter and a really nice lunch! Would recommend!

Elegant and classy ambiance in this Ralph Lauren Restaurant! The service is friendly and excellent with professional servers. There were some déclassé sloppy dressed customers but most were dressed business casual. The food was excellent.

The worst $25 chicken sandwich you’ll ever have. The fries were so oily and looked like they had been cooked the night before. I had the worst stomach ache an hour later as a result. The service was average: we had to remind the server to bring out our desert. Never going back.

It's a must, its upscale, elegant, quiet and a very nice crowd. I believe the other location is in Paris, I have been to RL for dinner for my cousins graduation and again for a wedding. Loved it.

Despite being a crazy hot day, lunch on the patio at RL was surprisingly delightful! Without a doubt, you DO hear the sounds of the city...traffic, fire truck and ambulances and more...but it’s part of the big city atmosphere you’d expect in downtown Chicago. The inside looked a bit dark for a sunny weekend lunch. Our group enjoyed a variety of salads including ones with lobster and crab, as well as fish and French fries! I particularly enjoyed a salad with grapefruit and avocado in a balsamic dressing. While usually a favorite at RL, the gazpacho soup that day had an ‘off’ taste to it. Graciously the soup was quickly replaced. Definitely not inexpensive, RL is a casual but classy place I’d return to.

Who would imagine that a trendy clothing store would have a restaurant, specially Ralph Lauren. I had been to Chicago so many times and never noticed their outside terrace facing the famous water tower. It was till some friends and my dad recommended having brunch there that I decided to check it out with my brothers. We were in town for Lollapalooza and decided to kick off our weekend with a nice brunch once we all got into Chicago from different places. It was easy to make a reservation for the Ralph Lauren restaurant via Open Table and we went there. The atmosphere is incredibly classy. It gives you that feeling of being in a Ralph Lauren apparel store, just with restaurant tables replacing the clothing shelfs. We decided to seat outside in the terrace as it was a nice day out. The staff was friendly in accommodating this request. Their service was great through our entire time there. They even allowed us to order from the brunch and lunch menu, making some good suggestions on how we could match things from both. For brunch we kicked it off with some drinks. Some mimosas and Bellini’s, which both were refreshing and had the right amount of brut in them. For sharing we got some escargots and their signature “pigs in a blanket”, which were mini wagyu beef hot dogs wrapped on a puffed pastry. Both were very tasty and perfect to be shared by our party. Getting serious we went on to their brunch classics. We got a gold coast benedict, a lobster roll and a RL burger. I tried the three of them. The burger was tasty, but I’ve had better ones in Chicago. Having said that though, I do have to call out that the lobster roll and the gold coast benedicts were delicious. The brioche bun for the roll and the amount of Maine lobster in it were enhanced perfectly with a lemon herb aioli. I started hesitating if I should have gotten that instead, but I am a big fan of benedicts. The gold coast benedicts were fresh with smoked salmon, a potato cake and I even decided to add some spinach into them. The hollandaise sauce was perfect, and their flavor exceeded the bar for the many places where I’ve had benedicts. Great option to visit while in Chicago! It is a different concept and their kitchen is quite good. Not what you would imagine from a restaurant attached to a popular clothing brand.

The bar restaurant is very nice. Centrally located. Upscale. Service is good. Injustice went for quick dinner and burger. Burger was good but standard would say.

We came here with friends and wow what an experience The atmosphere was classic, the service attentive Many of the party had the signature Dover Sole and was to die for. The lamb chops were sublime The wine waiter was attentive and helpful in pairing a fabulous Macon Village

We followed the recommendations from the TripAdvisor reviews and were far from disappointed. We ordered the lobster mini-rolls, the lobster bisque, the baked Camembert and the pigs blanket with wagu beef . Special thanks to Aracely for the fantastic service.

Next door to the Ralph Lauren store, I had a lovely luncheon experience here. Service was excellent without being snobby. The steak salad had tender, moist slices of delicious steak. The salad was overdressed to my taste, but the greens were fresh. The chocolate brownie dessert was very good.

RL Cafe not on only has a gorgeous interior, but if you want to "see and be seen" on the Mag Mile, this is the place. Try a mimosa with an RL burger and you have lunch paradise.

Great spot with great food! Would go again. Pigs in a blanket were god as was our corned beef sandwich. Very popular so make a reservation.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. It’s casually elegant with beautiful wood and fantastic art on every wall. Something like an old Hollywood eatery. The food was excellent and the waiter superb. One of us had a special which was Chilean Sea Bass and another had the crispy chicken sandwich with fantastic French fries. A Bellini topped it off.

Was surprised to see this was listed as #27 in Chicago as it didn't strike me as "that spectacular" but it was a solid meal with good service. Very old school. My only complaint is that the dining room is really overcrowded which made our business meal difficult due to the noise and constant need to move chairs to make way for people trying to get to/from tables or the bathroom. Management would be wise to remove 1-2 tables and give everyone a little more breathing room!

We had a reservation and were seated immediately. We had a wonderful meal. Waiters did a great job. We were there for dinner; 2 1/2 hours. We did not feel rushed at all. The food was great!

This is our 3rd visit to RL restaurants after already eating at RL NY and Paris. Never disappoints in atmosphere, decor, food or service!! Definitely recommend and would revisit!

Yesterday I sent with a friand of mine for dinner. To start with, it was very cloudy. People were shouting and screaming. I couldn't hear my friend well and nothing was confidential. People around us were listening as we were too to their discussions. The tables were too much close one to the other, and the waiters were all the time pushing me on my chair to pass. This is for the ambience. What about the food?! I ordered an oyster soup and a burger. The soup was good enough. The burger was the worst one on all my life. The fries were old, very melty, and of different colors so it means that they were made at different times. The meat in the burger was not well cooked. I ordered it medium. I had a meat, rare from inside and burnt from outside. Furthermore, the burger itself was not well made, to much onions and old lettuce, that's all. The restaurant doesn't deserve its name of Ralph Lauren.

Highly recommended - for lunch or dinner. Try the bar for a lot of ambiance. Great for lunch or nice casual dinner
Upscale nice restaurant. Excellent
Upscale nice restaurant. Excellent service, cozy ambiance and great food. The desserts are to die for
