I love this place, it atmosphere and their food! Cage free and all organic food! All there food is so delicious and I couldn't recommend a single particular dish there because they are all so good. :) Highly recommend trying this place if you haven't, if you are up late or just visiting Atlanta on a vacation or on business!

Not a bad choice in the house. Tonight I had the warm chicken salad. It was chuck full of scrumptious edibles. Home grown greens, herbs, pecans, shreds of orange, yellow, red veggies, topped with melted white cheddar and the dressing added the perfect touch. One of my companions is vegetarian and ended up ordering 2 main dishes because he could not choose between them. We all shared a dessert. The key lime pie was one of the best around.....and I'm originally from Florida, home of key lime pie. The ambiance is eclectic. Colorful, interesting "stuff" hanging everywhere. Creative and fun.

Apparently a student favourite due it being open 24 hours. Well, if only my friends and I had this as an option for late night munchies when we were students. Health focused meals that pack a ton of flavour and served to perfection. The healthiest fish tacos I've ever had! Great selection of food and beer and the setting is unique to say the least! A must see and taste if you're in Atlanta.

R Thomas has wonderful , healthy food in a unique atmosphere. Check out the birds and plants surrounding the building. It is open 24/7 and on addition to the rest of the menu they always serve breakfast. It is probably my favorite restaurant in Atlanta.

We chose this restaurant after googling "farm to table". It's a great place of you're interested in vegetables, organic, fruit and/or vegetable juices. There are meat dishes as well for the carnivores. Most interesting detail is that they are open 24/7. On the other hand, the atmosphere is really casual. This is a shorts, jeans, pajamas kind of place. The tables have plastic tablecloths ala picnic tables. The decor is a hodgepodge of tropical beach whimsical. The prices are not cheap, you will pay for the quality. My entree was $16. Plus $8 for the carrot, apple, spinach? Juice. Plus my husband's entree and juice. Total $46 without tip for lunch. Bottom line: I'd (almost) return but only after sampling many of the other treats Atlanta has to offer. Or, if it was 3am and I needed my veggie fix.

Eclectic tastes and wild surroundings make this an eating adventure. Seating is practically on Peachtree with parrots and a Tucan living outside; this joint is Rainforest Cafe meets Woodstock. Exotic spices, graffiti adorned walls, numerous vegetarian options, and yard sale tables and chairs make this funky monkey eatery anything but average. Adult beverages and breakfast available every hour of the day. The servers are fun yet efficient Leave your jacket at home and grab a plastic table for fun and food of a different variety. Kids might think it's fun but may find menu choices limited.

Great food. Love the Thai Express! It's not on the menu but ask for cashew cheese (instead of the humus) and grilled veggies. It is fabulous.

My friend and I decided to meet up to have some late night girl talk. We wanted a location that offered a variety of food, free parking, and late hours...The menu offers organic, vegan, and vegetarian selections. You can order breakfast food, dessert, smoothies, coffee, burgers...etc. I made the decision to try the fish tacos...The tacos did not disappoint. I also ordered the hot chocolate, which tasted absolutely amazing.I was informed that my hot chocolate was made with luv...I joking told my waitress it tasted like it was. Fish tacos were delicious. Lots of fresh vegetables and salmon. The atmosphere is more laid back and so is the service, it allowed my friend and I to talk without interruptions. Very eclectic and caters to a diverse population.

This place was creative in not only its look and funny, affectionate pet birds (in outside cages), but its very tasty meals. I had a delicious veggie burger with an incredible root-vegetables side dish. VERY yummy! If I lived in Atlanta, this place would see me often! Not for the conservative diner, for sure, but we all enjoyed our meals. The service was a little slow, but very helpful waitress and staff. The root-veggie side was certainly unusual and delicious.

There are many places you can eat in the ATL after hours, but few have the depth in their menu to cover eggs Benedict thru a veggie burger. Welcome to R Thomas! The atmosphere is tropical jungle meets aging hipster but the food is fantastic across the board. The Bloody Mary is very good. At any hour of the day, or even way late into the night, this place is a solid win.

I’ve been here a couple of times before. It’s a quirky, lovable place with parrots liking the walkway to the entrance. The menu is equally quirky - the breakfast stew and breakfast quesadillas were both delicious. Laid back service - a cool experience.

This is hands down the best breakfast spot in Atlanta, if not the country. The fresh squeezed OJ, "liquid gold" is amazing and the French toast is life changing. The bacon is always cooked to perfect as are our eggs. I can't say enough great things about this place. We come all the time and honestly wish we could afford to come weekly!

Delicious food in a fun and offbeat spot. Our server, Lainey was so helpful. It was our first visit and she helped us choose some great dishes. Great wings, superb French toast, can’t wait to visit again.

I last came to this joint about 20 years ago so this is my first review. I don't remember anything about that visit because I was probably drunk and with friends, though I do remember the birds. So this place is set up like a bedouins tent, with tables and chairs. Employees dress very casual as it's a very casual atmosphere, however you will see all walks of life and dress styles here, from business people to casual. Waitstaff are all pretty laid back but efficient and friendly. Menu is pretty eclectic. You can do breakfast all day, or sandwich, or burger, or wraps, or a pretty solid blend of different stuff, including some vegan type stuff that I ignore. 😎 Today I had the R-hearty big breakfast which is french toast with bananas, 2 eggs your style, your choice of bacon, ham, or sausage, and some kind of potato hashbrown medley, which is kind of bland but still tastes good. The french toast was made perfect and tasted delicious. Eggs over medium were perfect, ham was good. I also had a side of sourdough toast, that was a pleasant surprise. Wife had chicken curry basil wrap. She wasn't impressed. The curry tasted chalky, there was a bit too much basil to it and the curry overwhelmed the red and yellow peppers and other ingredients, so we wouldn't recommend that. Prices are moderate, but we'll just go to IHOP for breakfast next time. Overall the place has a certain charm to it, parking is adequate, birds outside are cool (Peaches and Cream like their necks scratched, and Sam the Toucan has no interest in anything but he's cool to look at!). I'll probably come back in another 20 years.

R Thomas and its staff have been a welcoming environment for years. They were ahead of their time with vegetarian and other healthy meals. Great food and good people and birds too.

We had an Amazing night in our very own Uptown Park rocking to Billy Joel in SunTrust Park! #TomahawkChop. We stayed at the Residence Inn right by SunTrust Park. When we woke up we were ready for coffee ☕️ and food. We have been wanting to try R. Thomas Deluxe Grill close to my son's house. It did not disappoint ~ delicious healthy conscious food plated and served aesthetically. Their philosophy is you are what you eat therefore their menu reflects their philosophy! 👍 We ordered their R Thomas Chips Deluxe Nachos ~ the star of the show being cha cha veggies with white cheddar cheese on top of organic blue corn chips with a side of beans, hummus and chunky salsa ! 😘 Finger licking as the Colonel says! Let's say kudos to the parking, atmosphere, and most importantly the food ~ I was a little sad our coffee ☕️ wasn't refilled and we had planned to order more food after we split the "starter" nachos (not saying we needed it) but she brought us our ticket without ever refilling our coffee, water or asking us if we wanted or needed anything else :( I will go back ~ Cool place with amazing food and a fun atmosphere 😎

Took awhile before order taken, but that was the only flaw. Well, seemed a tad pricey until we realized was organic vegetarian restaurant. The artsy eclectic atmosphere, coupled with music by Queen and similar era groups, lent a nice reverb to the evening. Also pleased to find a 24 hour Diner thats not a greasy spoon--a healthy diner; what a bizarre concept. Friendly too

I got the Breakfast Quinoa Bowl, and added Chicken Sausage to it. It was very good. And of course I had to stop and talk to the birds on the way in and out. I believe R Thomas is the only restaurant that I have been to at least once a year for 30 years.

I absolutely loved the whimsical feel of this place, but the food was the star of the show! I ordered the Warm Chicken Supreme Salad and was blown away by all the fantastic combinations of flavors. My friend had the fish tacos and said they were off the chain. I think I need to go back each time I'm in Atlanta and make my way through the menu!! A must stop for anyone that loves good food!!

Went here with a group of friends. Lots of options for the Vegetarians, but they also have chicken and burgers. Service was great.

Great food mostly and good service. A bit loud for any conversation, but a fun location for the family. Our meal was enjoyed by all, only exception was the rosemary potatoes which were under-cooked.

Great atmosphere and family friendly for children. The French toast was amazing and there is tons of healthy food options. Make sure you bring a jacket.

The food was really good but a little over priced. Servers failed to help with recommendation which was frustrating. Service was fast and friendly though with water remaining mostly filled. Food was good and hot, with only the prices for certain items (Chicken Omelet... for 12$... really) being a tad over priced. Atmosphere was fun and friendly... though on Thursday Night at 1am this place was more rocking then expected. My only real complaint is the Menu is REALLY pretentious and would have been severed better by some cheaper / simpler options for mixed groups with less adventurous people in it.

First and foremost I love the fact that the food is healthy. At the same time there is something for all food lovers. The herbal teas, smoothies, etc are amazing. LOVE Cinnamon Girl and Big Bang. Salmon, fish tacos, Thai bowl, hamburgers. All fabulous. And service was exceptional as well.

R> Thimas has been my go-to place after many wild nights in Atlanta. It's fun, iut's always open, it's convenient and the food and service atre always top shelf......you never know who'll you'll be sitting next to as the clientele is both famous and infamous......

The birds. The colors. The outdoor dining year-round. The delicious, nutritious food. Have been eating here for years. Moved away and couldn't wait to get to R. Thomas Deluxe Grill on a recent business trip back to ATL. Thankfully they're open 24/7 (late, great founder, R. Thomas, stated he lost the key to the place and so just decided to stay open all day/night). No description can really capture the goodness of the place: lots of love in the kitchen, lovingly served, enthusiastically and lovingly received. Great energy from staff and patrons, alike. If you eat to live and enjoy making connection back to the good folks who provide your food, RTDG is for you. When (wherever in the world) I'm eating at some fine dining place where entertainment, a la iron chef, etc., is the focus, and, spending hundreds of dollars/meal is the rule, I often think of R. Thomas and wish I could Star-Trek-transporter myself to R. Thomas for good, happy chow.

Smoothies and juices are surprisingly good, along with the large selection of both vegetarian and non-veg fare. Service is fast and efficient and courteous. Will return soon to try additional options.

A cool eclectic place in the middle of Atlanta. There is a distinct Caribbean feel inside, it's fun and bright. We came here with friends after a concert at Terminal West and enjoyed French toast with bananas , home fries, scrambled eggs& quesadillas. We loved it!!!! We were totally fueled up for the drive home. Thanks R. Thomas!!!

I arranged a meeting at the Grill with a long time friend who had never been there before. He ordered fish tacos and I had the vegetarian Sloppy Joe. My meal was absolutely delicious and Darryl loved his also. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. The Service was Excellent, very personable. We sat and talked for a long time after completing our meals. Great Food. Great Service. Awesome Personnel.

This 24 hour eatery in the upper-class neighborhood of Buckhead is interesting to say the least. R. Thomas does not have a parking lot itself and only validates parking for the lot behind during off-peak hours. If you are in to this art form of junk meets spray paint then R. Thomas is for you as the building is cluttered with this stuff. Some of the staff looked and smelled as if they had just walked in from toking it up out back. After reviewing the menu, part of our party decided to go up the street to Ted Montana's Grill as the idea of eating Quinoa with eggs didn't excite them. The remainder fo our party had eggs and quinoa while others had pasta. None of us were impressed with the food or the price. When our party met back up after dinner, the one's who went to Ted's Montana Grill (and who paid the same for their dinner as we did) were coming out with take home bags while some in our party were wondering if there was a McDonald's near by.

This place is fun, unique, with a small menu but the French toast is so good that you don’t need anything else.

I've passed this place several times over the past decade and the exterior never seemed inviting. But a friend raved about the selection of natural and healthy options with the added factor of late night hours. I didn't enjoy having to walk past a small bird sanctuary to get to the entrance. It's really small and I felt like I was in a circus (patio encased in a 'tent-like' structure) while sitting on the patio. There are AC units, fans, and heat lamps plugged into everything. Visible wires are running all across the ceiling. It appeared extremely hazardous. It's hard to believe that it passed inspection. I order the basics for brunch (French toast, vegan sausage, and eggs). It was nothing special, very bland - lacked any type of flavor. I've definitely had better. However, my friend is a regular and they did not like their first dish, and had to substitute it for something that they normally eat. Venturing to something new - literally left a bad taste in their mouth. I wasn't impressed and will not return.

I would have given the restaurant an excellent rating, however, I had issues with the waiting staff not being friendly. When we were guided to our seats, the gentle threw the menus on the table and just walked away. Next we noticed that he went to the side of the drink station, and got on his cell phone. I guess the looks on our faces showed that we were not pleased. After the look, the gentleman regrouped and provided the service we deserved. The food was hot, healthy, and had amazing flavor. After a meal like that, I can't complain.

I was a little concerned about this spot when I got there. It really looks like a hole in the wall that you expect to find on an Island somewhere. I'm glad I stopped in. I ordered 2 Lbs of chicken wings (about 10 I think). It was all I was hungry for. A few hours after Ieft, I wish I ordered some to go. :) I don't get to Juice when I travel, so I was great to see they had great Juice combination options. I gave it an "Average" rating because I didn't eat enough to say more.

We recently made our second visit to Atlanta. We were sooo glad we found R. Thomas, that we ate there twice! The service is friendly and attentive. The place is unique to say the least. Birds in cages outside. (checked on by a local vet, relax PETA). Hippie vibe inside. The food is outstanding. Healthy and imaginative. Wheat grass shots! Carrot juice smoothies promoting vitality! The healthy stew was incredible and aided digestion and reduced stomach acid. (It said so on the menu). Fish tacos were tasty as were the Ginger Crusted Ahi Tuna and the Thai Bowl. They are open 24/7! What more do you want? This is a laid back and informal atmosphere. Chill out and enjoy!

I really enjoy eating at R Thomas. Great atmosphere, quality staff, and even a nice array of food for carry-out. It's not a major gripe, but some of the items are a bit pricey considering the moer laid-back atmosphere, but it still one of my favorite restaurants to visit in the city. If you're looking for a healthy fix with a twist, I highly recommend R Thomas as a restaurant to visit. I've been time and time again and always impressed with their breakfast fare and omelettes, and I'm a big meat-eater but constantly find myself enjoying their vegetarian dishes just as much. Their ginger tamari is spectacular!

After running the 10k Peachtree Road Race this past 4th of July, we backtracked to find a tasty treat downtown. We stumbled upon R Thomas. My uncle thought the food choices would be greasy and American, but besides the interior designs shocking him was also the food choices. Everything was organic and clean eating. They had various smoothies on the menu that sounded amazing. I had the Thai Bowl which was PHENOMENAL! It was large for one person, but it could have been my post run appetite hadn't hit full swing by the time we sat down. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant! They are 24Hrs too!! Can't wait to make a late night stop in coming back from the airport.

If you search for vegetarian late night spots in Atlanta, this place is one of the first to pop up. I gave it one star because that was my only option. It was crowded, but the service was fast! Almost too fast. When our food came out, my husband said "did they pull this out of the microwave" ... yeah it was just that fast. So, one star for timeliness! Now, the problem was the food. The food was greasy and VERY bland. We ordered some sides: like a side of tofu, a side of sweet potato hash, a side of this, and a side of that. The total was almost $40 for like 5 sides. I guess we paid for the timeliness. Never going back!

We've been visiting this restaurant in January 2015 with the family. I was a bit hesitant at first because of all the funny decoration outside the restaurant (parrot's, flamingos' etc. ). Well, I didn't regret. This restaurant is very warm and welcoming despite it was very busy. Our waiting time was about 15 min on a Saturday evening. I'm a vegetarian (my family is not) and I was very very pleased with the vegetarian and vegan choices they had. The veggie choices even showed if this particular dish is starchy, grains or nonstarchy.I had the ocean garden salad (seaweed, kelp with flax dressing) and the portobello linguini. My husband had the spice fish taco and the kids had grilled cheese. Everybody loved their food and it was a pleasure to dine there. Also our server was very attentive and polite. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I've only eaten off of the breakfast menu from this restaurant but it is definitely in the top 5 for quality and taste of food. The French toast is easily the best in Atlanta. Ambience is kind of weird definitely appeals to a younger crowd but the best part is they are open 24/7

Stopped by the carry out window after an appointment this afternoon, very pleased with how quickly we got our smoothies and a portobello sandwich. Amazing veggies with great flavor- smoothies also very satisfying. I wish I lived by this place! We also enjoyed looking at the beautiful birds while waiting.

Wonderful place and certainly not a chain or cookie cutter. Very healthy options if that’s your gig. I love a place with character and this exceeds all expectations. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Need a place to get healthy food later in the day? This is your spot. You do not need to get dressed up in your evening best for this laid back place. If you do come at night you'll the birds, come back during the day to see them awake.

This funky restaurant has menu items that are not only imaginative, but thoroughly delicious. They serve breakfast all day and the selections are terrific. We had not been here for a while, because we don't get to ATL a lot and my son now lives further away from this place. Wife and I decided we had to go back and found everything as funky as before (parrots, decor, paint job). New furniture in the seating area was very welcome. Anyway, you really should go here for a delicious and, somewhat different, breakfast. The "California Omelet" with shrimp, faux crab and guacamole was great. Just do it. It's worth the experience.

Funky place with great food choices for all types of eaters. we had 3 different vegan dishes & all were great - everyone's favorite was the one with the peanut sauce (can't remember the name). This place was an excellent find after a late flight into Atlanta. I would strongly recommend this place to families/groups with vegans/vegetarians/gluten/omnivores in their group.

The food was okay, nothing special & was overpriced. The decor is eclectic, but just too much for us.

This place is a cross between a tropical and hippie paradise. The food was very good, but the cool and inviting scene is really the draw. The inside is covered by far out green canopy slung over all the tables, which keeps the patrons cools, even at 90 degrees outside. The service was very good and the portions plentiful. You can order meat but this place is also setup for the vegetarians/vegans in your life. Check it out, man!

It's hard to find great vegetarian restaurants that also have very friendly staff and a funky atmosphere. But R. Thomas has it all! My mother and I visited before attending an event later that evening. The menu had a wonderful variety and also included meat options for the carnivores. I loved that the vegetarian menu seemed larger than the meat menu, a nice change for this vegetarian!! There really is something for everyone. I had the home made veggie burger with sweet potatoes. All I can say is YUM!!! I was not sure what to get for a side and our fantastic waiter made the suggestion of sweet potatoes, which did not disappoint. My mother had the fish tacos and enjoyed every bite. We would love to return on another visit to the Atlanta area.

A diverse menu with something for almost everyone, whether vegetarians or omnivores. I had the breakfast quesadilla, loaded with eggs and accented with bacon & veggies. It was huge—leftovers! My vegan friend had several questions about her order. The server was patient and helpful, explaining the menu items and suggesting alternatives. Great attitude! The decor is inviting, something colorful at every turn. My one disappointment is the health rating, which was a B. I don’t normally frequent restaurants rated lower than an A. I didn’t read the (posted by law) report, so don’t know what earned a B, but I challenge management to strive for an A. Then I’d give them 5 stars.

Great wings with just the right about of spice. My husband had the Raw Platter#1 and is a vegetarian and loved it. Great place to go if you have meat eater and vegetarian in the family. Definitely will eat here again when visiting Atlanta.

This was the best lunch I have had in as long as I can remember. The fish tacos were perfectly spiced with a blend of really pleasing vegetables well combined. I was wowed. My friend had a Thai dish with tempeh that was equally beautiful and she fully enjoyed. Service was perfect - just the right blend of helpful and leaving us alone to chat. It was a easy place to hang for a while after the meal was done. Very pleasant atmosphere. I will return There are amazing birds to entertain you on your way in and out. Great for vegetarians, vegans and omnivores alike - something for everyone. They also offer beer and wine, coffee and tea. Go.

They have raw vegan options which I wasn't daring enough to try, but had several bites of my friend's meal and it was really good! I had the Thai chicken dish which was very good.

Hard to get to but worth the effort. I enjoyed the veggie sloppy Joe with red cabbage and sweet potatoes. The atmosphere is Carribean and kids will love the exotic birds.

Atmosphere is great, very mellow. Service is lovely and attentive. No bar but a few beers. I didn't personally like the menu so I went with quesadillas.

Wow! The wings were AMAZING. HUGE HUGE WINGS. Like a mini chicken. People were staring as I licked the sauce off my fingers...so very tasty! Had the soup which I loved as well. Nice starter. My fiancee got a veg platter as he wanted something healthy. The potato side, sweet potatos, and green beans were to die for. Cucumber salad...meh. Our waiter seemed very overwhelmed and rushed us to order. That was not so wonderful, but our food came out quick. Overall nice experience and would go back.

Im super fan of the Big Bang te/juice and Im happy with any bowl. Everything is SO fresh, delicious and made with care. Super nutricious. Love the fact that is under a tent. Every time someone comes to visit from Mexico I bring them here.

Food was good, a little pricey but overall a good and very interesting place to eat. We will go there again.

R. Thomas is an inexperience in itself. Efforts made to provide GF pasta, GF chocolate cake or other dessert definitely earns a five star rating. The initial introduction begins outside the quaint, surprising decor of the restaurant when guests are met with an incredible collection of exotic birds. I can't recall ever seeing a Tucan owned privately. Greeted by the entourage of beautiful, Grandfather type parrots as a hello echoes from the cages provides an immediate ambiance into a rather unusual, almost 70's like environment. From free range eggs of plentiful breakfasts choices served anytime, to entrees or entree "bowls" sure to please all palates, to the friendly and welcoming staff, a visit to R. Thomas is one to enjoy and certainly one you will put on your revisit list!

If you are looking for a unique place to stop for some healthy local food, this is your place! It looks like a shack, or a shanty or possibly a farmers market but don't be fooled. The menu choices are good for vegan or vegetarian diets. I had the Lucky Green Tea bowl which had quinoa, snow peas and other veggies with a special green tea miso reduction. Delicious! Oh and it's open 24/7!

Good food but more importantly great drinks. They have so many teas, smoothies and juices! Also, they are one of the few places (if not the only one) that offers truly healthy options, many gluten free options, soy, tofu, etc. It is paradise for vegans and it is open 24/7!! Nothing beats that. One of my favorite spots because of the ambiance and vibe, I'm a regular.

During Dragon Con, we had a group of out of town friends get together who all had some kind of varying food allergy issue. These guys were so helpful and friendly and the food and coffee were so good that we ate here *every* morning of that trip. Thanks again for taking care of us - you're the best!!

I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Special needs diet? No problem! Picky children? No problem! Service is fast and friendly. Atmosphere relaxed and inviting. Lots of healthy and delicious choices on the menu from the lite fare to dessert.

Nasty hamburger - weird meat on a hot dog bun. Garlic beans that came with it had clearly been in the freezer too long - you could taste the freezer burn. Kids had rice dishes and neither finished their food. Can’t believe people have rated this highly. Worst restaurant meal I’ve had in 20 years.

Friends told us about this place so we were happy to finally try it out. It is a parrot theme with actual Toucans, Green parrots and other assorted talking birds with the decor to match. It is open 24/7 and seems to be packed 24/7. I had the breakfast quesadilla with home fries and my girl had the egg sandwich. We could have split either one and left full. The only negative is the parking lot. It has a huge grade so prepare for a hard walk uphill. No way a wheel chair would make it. Another visit is in our future.

Had lunch here. Interesting place all sorts birds in cages lining outside of restaurant. I had the mango avacado salad with rosemary flavored salad dressing. Tasty and everything in it tasted nice and fresh. What a menu, went on for pages. Mostly all vegetables and seemed very creative.

I was very excited to eat at R. Thomas for dinner since I love to eat clean and like organic raw and vegan options! My friends had eaten there before - I had not, so choosing what to order was really difficult! We had the organic salsa and chips and then shared the fish tacos and the magic quesadilla. Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned, more-than-enough servings & very clean! For dessert, we could not resist Kenny's peanut butter pie, which was exactly like a Reese's peanut butter cup - nope, sorry, it was soooo much better! The service was excellent as Todd was our server. He was so friendly, yet professional and for the first time in many visits to a restaurant, felt like our server really, really loved his job! (Thanks, Todd!) R. Thomas has a very cool vibe - like some little spot in the Caribbean complete with caged exotic birds outside but right on Peachtree Street in Atlanta! There were so many choices, I just can't wait to go back!

I went to R Thomas for brunch with friends. We enjoyed French toast, home fries, bacon and coffee. The food was outstanding and cooked as ordered. The coffee was served really hot and it had a nice smooth strong flavor. The service was outstanding for the entire meal. The eclectic atmosphere makes this place an outstanding choice for breakfast or brunch

We heard of this place by friendo... Well it's absolutely delicious, service superb & very relax place. The decor si different and we loved it. Prices are conveniet. It's a must in Atlanta.

I went here on a late night search for food with a friend. We stumbled upon this place and it was a GREAT find!! The Ginger Crusted Wild Ahi Tuna is the ONLY dish I get when I eat here. Highly recommend!!!

We stopped by R. Thomas on the way home from a long hike. We had our running clothes on-but there was all kinds of dress there. Casual to Church crowd. It is a very eclectic restaurant. They were very busy, but got us a table immediately. The service was great. The food was outstanding as well as the entertainment. R. Thomas himself was bringing out the birds to show to the kids. He was putting them on the children's heads and making them giggle. After the birds, he was showing them magic tricks. This is an owner who loves his business! Great Sunday morning!

Omygoodness Amazing! Great for friends, family, business meetings & late night munchies! Lots of variety, food for everyone. I eat the Vegan Platters

I live a raw food lifestyle and there are few places to go out to eat that suits my choice. However at R. Thomas not only can I find exciting and delicious food items I can also bring a guest who can order something entirely different. Its a good fit for going out to eat with friends and my grandchildren. The service is great. I enjoy having someplace to go that satisfies my food choices.

Very eclectic/hippielike/parrothead vibe. Simple interior, nothing fancy, comfortable…the menu is ridiculously awesome…Vegan, vegetarian or if you like carne' you can have that too. Wheatgrass shots, delicious smoothies and fresh brewed teas. Great ingredients and the service was really good too. No complaints here and I'm making this my hangout place for awhile because I have to try more of the menu. I had peanut butter pie for desert…Yummo. And then there's the tropical birds before you walk in. They're beautiful and they like attention so you can have fun with them and they play along. Only thing neg I can say is the parking is tricky finding your way in and out.

Very fresh, very fast, and very good. I recommend getting a fresh coconut to drink along with a pound of wings to start. Most of the options are healthy but all of the selections are truly amazing!

I can rember my dad talking about this restaurant as a teenager after he ate here on a trip to ATL. So 25 years later I decided to give it a try and was so glad I did. The food and service was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the Curry Coconut Seafood Linguinee.

We stopped here for a quick brunch on the way to the airport. We were seated immediately in the covered patio area and the servers were friendly and professional. The decorations are kind of funky, but fun. The seating is OK, but not lavish or fancy. I had their Peachtree Morning: Three eggs, any style, with bacon, ham or veggie sausage. I like the eggs over-easy with ham and it was just fine. Others in my group ordered French Toast. The portions were large and the food tasted fresh and good. It’s a decent breakfast, brunch or lunch choice. I didn’t see a dinner menu, so I can’t comment on that. Their prices are not bad either. I recommend it.

I came here due to being recommended from a friend. I’m vegan and I’m so glad I came! I had the flax chips with guacamole as an appetizer and it was the best guacamole I’ve ever had. So fresh and flavorful. For my entree I had the veggie sloppy joe and man...... I couldn’t say enough great things about it! It was better than I expected. I wish I lived closer but I am willing to make the 30 min drive to eat here!!! It has definitely become on of my favorite restaurants and the decor is so different and I loved it!

We enjoyed our Sunday brunch here. The food was really good. Along with your meal there's plenty to see, from the outdoor art collection to the tropical birds.

Wife and I stopped by late one evening on the way home from the airport. I had the fish tacos and she had the salad with grilled chicken. Great late night alternative.

I found this while Googling top veggie restaurants in ATL. Home fries were soggy and greasy and tasteless. Service was focused. Steady stream of guests. Hubby had an omelette and I had soup since I wasn't too hungry. I just wasn't won over, there was no wow factor. Wasn't until we were done server suggested we should get wings and French Toast. Thanks.

Ate here today based on suggestions from locals. The other party members enjoyed their lunches but my vegan Sloppy Joe was inedible for my taste. I did enjoy my Oatmeal Stout beverage. Too bad as staff was nice and environs very interesting and eclectic.

We love this place. It has great food, great staff, a fun and funky atmosphere, and the famous birds! They have a new breakfast menu for $7.99 which is outstanding. If you haven't tried it, you should, and, if you haven't gone in awhile, you should go back. The founder Richard, who was beloved by all, died last year but the family still owns the restaurant and it is better than ever!

It's still as quirky as ever! The food (especially the french toast with bananas) is to die for. All 4 of us had something different. The chicken is wonderful as is the pasta and the garden burger. The atmosphere is fun and Richard was there bringing around one of the birds. It's a fun hangout place located in Midtown Atlanta (which makes it central to everything downtown). It's also open 24 hours a day and the menu is non-specific to the time of day. Park behind the building for free! We've been going there for about 25 years and now our children are going there!

Food was pretty bland... Won't be returning. Great if you like earthy crunchy food that tastes like you are eating your lawn....

R Thomas Grill has amazing organic food in an entertaining atmosphere. Venture outside and see the collection of exotic, very spoiled birds.

Dont know why I expected this funky place to have good food. I was pretty dissappointed in the burger, and after visiting the bathroom (. Which held no clue that it had ever contained soap), i just left wondering what the health inspector was thinking. And praying I would not live to regret eating here

What a visually stimulating restaurant. The walk in screams fresh, healthy, and tasty. The inside very eclectic. The anticipation was building. We all ordered something different and sample quite a few dishes. There are no wrong choices here. My husband who is a traditional diner (steak, shrimp and lobster) really enjoyed the flavorful dishes here. A great experience! Bravo!

R Thomas is an Atlanta landmark restaurant. I think was the first healthy fare eatery before the rage. From super healthy fare to burgers. Great smoothies, friendly Birds greet you as you enter. Great staff that has been there for years. OPEN 24 hours a day 7 days a week !!! Great Breakfast too.

It serves both vegan, gluton free, vegetarian and regular foods, something for everyone, it is a little off the wall with the décor but that is what is part of the charm, my meal was great, kids like their pasta dishes, the desserts are amazing, just a fun evening with little people, no drama and that is always good with wee ones.

My boyfriend brought me to R. Thomas because of the variety of food as well as the quirky decor. I was taken by both! The Magic Quesadilla was just that- MAGIC. I also tried the banana waffles (I think that's what they were) and they were delicious, without syrup! I loved the caged birds (a toucan and a few large parrots) outside of the restaurant. The best way I can describe the decor is that it reminded me of Mrs. W's windchime garden in the movie Harriet the Spy. (Yes, I had to Google her name). I found it charming and unique. I would love to come back to R. Thomas on my next visit to Atlanta.

The spouse and I decided to try R. Thomas’ Deluxe Grill for Saturday brunch, as I wanted breakfast, and the spouse wanted lunch. Parking was a little confusing as we tried to figure out how to access their lot. We didn't know that we could have used the adjacent lot as well. The entrance was very different, with a string of bird cages which holds very big & colorful birds leading to vibrantly painted benches outside of the (slightly hard to find) entrance. The tables were covered with island motif oil cloth, and the colorful theme is carried throughout the restaurant. We were seated right away, but by the time our apologetic server took our drink orders, we had more than enough time to decide what we wanted to eat and placed those orders as well. Once our food was received, our server was more attentive. I ordered coffee, the Big Breakfast Special (a half order of French toast topped with sliced bananas, three medium scrambled eggs, and ham). The coffee was good, as was the French toast; however, the eggs looked as if they were scrambled, then mashed and slightly browned, and the ham was very dry. The spouse ordered a Coke, R’s Classic Home Fries and the Thomas Burger, medium (Grass-fed beef burger chargrilled to order on sour dough bread with romaine, special sauce and tomato and white cheddar). He said his Coke tasted like an overly sweet fountain soda. He gave me a bite of his burger, and I thought it was without flavor. He thought it was just okay, but he loved his fries. We both enjoyed the experience of being there, as it had a fun, funky atmosphere, but we agreed that the food is not worth the drive for us. Bottom Line: I recommend experiencing this fun place at least once. Sorry, I can’t recommend the food.

One of the BEST Natural Food Restaurant I've been to with a huge variety of options. We tried the Meatless Sloppy Joe, Quinoia Thai Bowl, Donkey Kong Smoothie and 4 different sides and everything was incredibly flavorful and fresh! I wish there was one of these in Boston!

This place was amazing I love the atmosphere and the menu was great, so were the staff and service. THANKS DAVE! My pasta that Dave helped me order had some kinda awesome sauce on it. I will definitely be back. My dad called while I was there and told me the French Toast is really good and the wings so I've got my order for the next couple of visits planned and ready. To the newcomers, Enjoy!

We had a nice dinner at this eclectic little place that has been in Atlanta forever. They have such healthy food, and most people are also ordering their juices and smoothies. Our server was Kim, who is a lovely young lady. Highly recommend her. Great service.

We were about to go to one of the places next door when our Lyft driver suggested this place. We are happy he did. The food was excellent, lots of options, and the staff was friendly.

I've eaten here 1000 times and it has never disappointed me. I've brought all of my friends from out of town here because i know it will always impress anyone. I love the atmosphere and the menu goes on for days. there are such great choices and i know they'll love whatever they get. the drinks and the staff are great. i love the variety and i love that this place is open 24 hrs. one of my favorite places in all of atlanta

Great place for vegetarians. As they say...When in Rome do as the Romans do. Lots of veggies to choose from. The roasted chicken was so dry it was like saw dust in my mouth. One bite is all it took....I turned it back for the boneless breast of chicken with instructions not to overcook it ....it came paper thin and also dry, dry, dry, with no spice or flavor. The veggies were good but nothing else.

Have a group with a wide variety of eating styles? This is the place to come. Not only is the environment bright, unusual and interesting, so is the food. Delicious! Want breakfast at dinnertime or vice-versa? You may choose that as well. Again, the choice options are wide-ranging and nearly anyone can find something to eat here. (You might even be tempted to take a meal or 3 home.) We've been visiting this establishment for a very long time and always leave with happy, full tummies. Highly recommend!

What an amazing find. This eclectic restaurant located in Buckhead, offers an amazing unique breakfast. The portions are large the prices are reasonable. Outstanding service by the white staff and the food is absolutely delicious. I enjoyed a half order of French toast, small home fries and crispy bacon. The coffee was fresh roasted extremely tasty. While I am known to be very picky about the service in any restaurant, this place does an absolute outstanding job in all categories. As someone who travels 100,000 miles a year, I highly recommend this place for breakfast.

I've passed this restaurant and parked near it routinely and did not know it existed until recently. The food, waiter, and atmosphere was fantastic! We ordered the ginger salmon and meatless meatloaf. Both were spot on with flavor and portion size. I have already recommended this restaurant to others in town and out of town. I'm looking forward to returning and trying breakfast next time. Recommendation: Don't have guests wait in the kitchen. It's transparent, but not a good look, in my opinion.

One of my favorite places to go in Atlanta for a Saturday afternoon lunch. Fish tacos are amazing. Always fresh. The atmosphere is fun and interesting.

We started out by going to a chain breakfast place but during our wait for that restaurant, we found this place. We are so glad we did. The food was great, healthy and they offer a large selection. The place is fun and interesting!

This place is great! Quirky atmosphere, birds, fun music that is not to loud and awesome food! Fish tacos are great. French toast is awesome! It has bananas on it! The warm chicken salad is soooo delicious!

This cool organic hippie-ish spot is surely made it's way to my top 10 places to visit in Atlanta if you're in the Buckhead area! The restaurant has a great family, date, solo environment. Over the course of Six months I have been traveling to Atlanta and every time I make it my mission to stop by R.Thomas to grab a Shake (The PB&J) ! And if times allow it I will sit get dinner and have their cinnamon girl tea or the lemon apple tea! I absolutely love R.Thomas! The only place I have found to offer a variety of selections for organic lovers &vegans ! Even if you aren't a vegan or even care about organic food just stop by for a shake or even the front toast you won't be disappointed!

Restaurants that could be described as 'strange' (or even eclectic) are usually interesting and worthwhile in some way. R.Thomas is strange, from the caged birds as you walk into the entry to the 'verandah' type dining room. The menu is fairly priced and quite wide-ranging and the food is reasonable - but some way from high quality. The service is friendly, but lacking completely in knowledge of the food and how to serve customers properly. I say this because we ordered starters and main courses and they were brought together! Apparantly, we were told, because the kitchen was quiet. Never heard that before. Maybe this restaurant is a 'talking point', but the food is not much good and the service odd.

After a friend suggested we meet here for brunch, I read the reviews. I read about the great food, wonderful options and cool atmosphere. Then... I read something birds. Because I love my friend, I decided to meet her anyway. I'm so glad I did! The birds are (mostly) outside of the cafe. They are in cages along the walkway leading to the entrance. You can still hear and see some of them while you eat, but there are no birds flying or walking around. Thank goodness! The atmosphere really is funky and cool. This is a laid back place with delicious food. Get a pot of tea! They have a nice variety from which you can choose. Each of us received a separate check (always appreciated). We sat and talked for another two hours before we paid. We were checked on, but never pressured to leave or settle the bill. For a delicious bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and a pot of tea, I paid $16.45 including tax. Not bad at all!

I am absolutely amazed that this greasy spoon inside a lava lamp, has one positive review. From the nasty bathroom located behind the revolting kitchen, to the sticky floors and the fire hazard of power strips powering this germ circus, this place is not only not up to basic standards, it is an abomination to greasy spoons everywhere. Eat at your own risk and also notice the prominently displayed Health Code score on the wall. NEVER AGAIN.

Ok...yes, the menu items are healthy. If I were going to rate this strictly on the taste alone, I might give this place higher ratings. I worry, however, for people's heath and safety eating here. When you walk in the door, you are walking into a small hallway that doubles as a cooler area for drinks and a place where apparently waitstaff stands and does nothing. That was off putting enough. BUT..hold on...it gets better (or worse). We sit down and order. Food and tea comes- Fine. Not disputing the taste. I made the giant mistake of having to use the restroom and this is where the fun begins. I am disabled with mobility issues. I ask where the bathroom is and am told it is THROUGH the kitchen. As in people in need of doing their personal business must walk thru the place where the food you are going to ingest is made. I really had to go so I sallied forth through the kitchen. The floors were slippery and I was trying to grab the walls as to not fall down. Think about this- the only places I could grab would have been surfaces that have to do with your FOOD. (ie, the ice machine, the pass where your food waits for the waitstaff to pick it up, etc). If I have to grab those places going INTO the bathroom I'll have to grab them COMING OUT of the bathroom. I wash MY hands, but I am betting others do not. The tiny bathroom itself had the toilet paper resting sideways on the dirty windowsill because apparently no one could take a moment to install it into the toilet paper holder. For a place that is so "organic", it is NOT disability friendly, when your patrons have to take their life in their hands to go to the bathroom. This is especially terrible because much of their menu is gluten free and organic both of which help with pain management and other aspects of disabilities. You would think that R. Thomas would realize that providing a safe place for ALL of their customers to use the bathroom would be in order. I will not patronize this restaurant again and will have to let other mobility impaired friends know NOT to eat there either because this restaurant is neither a safe place to eat nor a safe place to use the facilities. Ick!

First of all the place is a little willy-wonka. To say it's colorful in an understatement. So if you're into eccentric decor, you're in the right spot. Hundreds of Pinwheels are planted all along the perimeter of the building like a crazed garden while exotic birds in roomy cages call your attention when you approach the entry. The staff are as colorful and efficient as they come. Really sweet and get it done. I particularly liked Diamond. (And a really nice gentleman whose name I didn't get). But let's get to the food. This is wholesome, tasty healthy food. I believe it's organic and local. I went 4 times while in Hotlanta so I tried a lot. The French toast if to die for. The corn chowder is hearty and full of taste. I also had the key lime pie one night and it really hit the spot. Nothing we ordered was bad, poorly made it unhealthy. The collards!!! Yes they were scrumptious. My friend always ordered a fresh coconut water. And they have juices and smoothies if you are into that kind of thing... Did I mention the French toast?? One of the best aspects is this place is open 24/7! Yes!!! Breakfast is served 24/7 too. I love that. Don't miss this place. I will definitely go back when I'm in Atlanta again.

We were searching for a healthy place to eat and luckily came across R.Thomas Grill which has was the perfect spot. There’s a very good reason why this restaurant has been open for 35 years and is open 24/7 we just couldn’t get enough. Everything we tried was off the charts Delicious and busting with flavor and raw energy. This is the best restaurant we ate at during our 5 day stay in Atlanta. We’ll definitely be coming back for more! Hats off to the entire staff who are full of smiles and fast and friendly service! If you’re looking for a delicious, healthy and flavorful meal, Don’t miss out on R.Thomas Grill.... A Must Try 👍🏻❤️

R. Thomas is not only a great restaurant, but also a great place to spent a relaxing evening with family and friends. R. Thomas serves food that is friendly to all types of diets-- vegan, vegetarian, carnivores, those considerate of animals (free range, etc.) , smoothie lovers, etc. Everything we have tried on the menu is delicious! I love the fact that you can have breakfast anytime you visit. (Their omelettes are stuffed with veggies!). My husband loves the vegan sloppy joes. The restaurant itself is also unique. Outside are the owner's beautiful birds and flowers. The inside is in a large heated and cooled tent. As we ate yesterday, it was impossible not to notice the happy people laughing and talking throughout the restaurant like one big happy family. I found myself joining another couple in wishing the husband a happy birthday just because they were sitting nearby, and even though I didn't know them, it was the thing to do when you are at R. Thomas. Sometimes you may have to wait, but when you want good food, R. Thomas is the place to go!

By the decor at R. Thomas’ you might think you’re at a place that doesn’t take its food seriously. Not the case! Come here for great brunch and breakfast fare, terrific vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options and really cool drinks and beer selection. I had a grain bowl with greens that was terrific and a coconut juice concoction served in a real coconut that was hard to put down. The staff is fast, attentive and friendly and the crowd is casual and cool. All walks of life feel happy and at home here, young and old alike. Gotta love it. I’d go back in a second.

Love this place! We received service as soon as we sat down. We ordered and the food was at the table in 5-10 minutes. Not sure what the nasty review was about on Trip Advisor and the comment about the health department score , which was 100, but the food was great. They offer good variety and the menu is well thought out. We will eat here again when in Atlanta.

We have gone to R. Thomas for years. The food is organic and flavorful and the staff is amazing. I love to visit his tropical birds and awesome garden outside. Located in the middle of Atlanta, you should not miss it. It never closes.

Funkiest little restaurant!! While in Atlanta very briefly, I tried a random place that I found on TripAdvisor (my favorite app!). Hippy + vegan + organic + sustainable = very cool place! Will surely be back!! I tried the Thai Bowl and Key Lime pie- both had great flavor! And beautiful presentation. It's open 24 hrs, which I find amazing. The seating is in a tent, which was cool enough for me in September. They have appropriate cooling (and I saw heating lamps for the winters too). A really laid back staff. Food was prepared very quickly too. Too bad I don't live closer.

Unusual casual restaurant that has a collection of exotic birds and really good food and drinks. They specialize in vegetarian food and offer breakfast all day long.

We've been eating at R Thomas for 20 years. It continues to be a favorite of ours due to phenomenal organic meals and fun quirky and very good wait staff. A true gem in the buckhead area. Best 24 hour food stop. Fabulous fabulous fabulous.

The vibe of this place is just fun. Their birds are super cool and one of them even talks to you! Breakfasts are super reasonably priced and their veggie sausage is delicious.

I was introduced to this magnificent spot about 5 years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I celebrated my birthday in it one midnight as I rolled into another year of my life. You have to be open minded and in love with your hippie inner child to really understand the magnitude of what RL Thomas has to offer. it's not posh, it's not upscale but the menu is to die for. There are so many interesting sexy offerings that I'm overwhelmed when I am FINALLY forced to choose something to order. While I'm never disappointed with my selection, I always chastise myself that I should have perhaps tried something else I've spied on another guests plate. I'm a self-admitted plate/entrée stalker. there's no therapy for it and I'm not ashamed. I'm not going to any freaking AA type meetings for it either. I'm happy with my natural ability to sneak a peak and quite openly ask my waiter/waitress "what's that?" on someone else's plate. you call it rude perhaps, I call it curious and revenue for RL Thomas or the other restaurant owner who benefits from my antics. either way, I've tried their breakfast dishes during breakfast hours and late night. I've had with pleasure his burgers and coconut drink in the quaint coconut and I've also had the mimosas. again, I've always been pleased. The staff like the atmosphere is laid back but so very attentive. Dress up-NEVER-it's come as you are, talk to the birds if you have a wait and if ever afforded the pleasure of RL himself visiting your table, smile and be radiant. He sure will be!

I didn't know what to expect after browsing through cages of gorgeous birds. However, entering a fun little quirky building with amazing staff was wonderful. The decor inside & out was amazing. The coffee was strong & hot. All the servers were pleasant. The french toast was to die for good. All the clean eating & vegan choices were great. Plus, breakfast under $25 for two? Awesome. Can't wait to go back.

We finally found a restaurant that caters to my vegan/vegetarian food preference and he found a few meat items that he really enjoys it. Parking is not fun n but great food and fun atmosphere

I would call this a hidden gem in plain site. If you walk past the restaurant, you may think it's a junkyard or flea market. The store front is packed with a 3 ft metal chicken, a fiberglass unicorn, windmills, sunflowers and all kinds of art displayed with loud vibrant colors. The actual entrance is hidden along the alley where four parrot cages proudly displaying four live birds you can pet or talk to. Inside you find Key Largo meets Jimmy Buffet and fantasy land. You have to look at the pics to see the bizarre decor. The atmosphere is five star for me. The employees fit right in making the greatness of the design even better. When the food arrived I was sold. This goes on my short list of places to visit again. The Benedict Thomas was wonderful. The Donkey Kong shake was a delight. Great place!

Went for a bite after Trap Karaoke with friends (after 1am) I was amazed at the quality of food at this 24 hour restaurant. Just amazing!

Never disappointed. Everything fresh and excellent. Breakfast 24/7. Love chicken, burgers and salads.

This restaurant has been around forever and unfortunately is showing it's age in an unflattering way. I had not eaten there for many years and now I know I didn't miss anything. The service was bad and the food nearly inedible. We ordered a vegetarian plate (vegetables were tasteless, terrible) and fish tacos (there were three minuscule pieces of indefinable fish in a sea of claw slaw and other junk). It was so disappointing to see an iconic restaurant like that go down the tubes. Definitely will not eat there again.

We often eat here, a fun place, food is different and good. Lots of natural food and things on the menu that don't just come from Sysco like every other place. I had fish tacos this time, really good and different. A great place to take kids, see the special caged birds outside, and meet the boss. He's great!

R Thomas Deluxe Grill was on my list of 24 hour places to eat during my three day trip in Atlanta. My first visit for brunch on a Saturday morning. It wasn't hard to spot the place as it's colorful and stands out on the road but the first challenge was finding the entrance. I must have asked R Thomas himself for directions as the 60+ year old said to me, "can you keep up with me?" Tip: the entrance is on the same side as the birds who live in cages immediately outside the restaurant. On entering, it's like a greenhouse type structure with brightly colored hanging lamps and psychedlic decor. We were seated quickly enough and given menus. The menu is extensive and favors vegetarians, vegans and those who wish to healthy so despite being open 24 hours, this is not a diner nor a greasy spoon. In some respect it was good that it took forever before our order was taken as the menu was so big and it was our first visit. However, the three of us were hungry! I ordered a freshly squeezed juice (carrot, apple and ginger) and the breakfast stew based on quinoa. Another friend ordered the "$8 shake" which is a substantial meal in itself based on its highly nutritious ingredients and the fact it is 32oz! The latter is served in a pitcher with a straw in it and you're given a small cup. My other friend ordered a vegetarian version of a sloppy Joe. The food came out pretty quickly, within 20 minutes. There were other diners around, including a few babies so this place must be popular with families. My stew was a big bowl, about two thirds of a pint of food! I had imagined something more chunky, being a stew but it was almost like soup but it was extremely tasty with good seasoning and flavor, not salty. There was also something slightly sweet in the breakfast stew but I could see an ingredient that would give such a flavor so maybe it was honey or agave syrup. The $8 Shake diner declared it to be delicious and he was immediately invigorated. We were all pretty tired from the night before from dancing until the early hours. Many of the menu items at the R Thomas Grill have funky, distinctive names and I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad to go that would serve me as lunch for later. There is a environmentally friendly ethic to this restaurant so my take out came boxed in cardboard and then in a paper sack (which I have brought back to North Carolina to use). Other than not taking our orders in a timely manner, the quality of service was generally good and our server checked in on us and managed to split the check correctly. Prices for items seem fair considering the ingredients (some of which one would find in a health food store and not in a grocery store) and the freshness of produce. The only negative about the experience is that I consider it somewhat unhygienic to have to walk through part of the kitchen to get to the bathroom. As I mentioned earlier, the building is more like a greenhouse so there are not solid walls (i.e. made of concrete, brick) so one might touch counters or other furniture on the way to or from the bathroom. The second visit was Monday morning for breakfast but this time it was a group of five. Service on this occasion was much smoother and the server more attentive. This time, I ordered a sweet chai (on the recommendation of the server as I wanting a hot drink) and it was delicious. It was hot but not too sweet nor spicy like some chai can be. I ordered a breakfast quesadilla and the server had no problem substituting tofu for the egg filling. The dish also came with a side item (from a choice of about ten) plus sour cream and salsa. I found it to be a filling dish and I left with a quarter of the quesadilla. Overall, I was very happy with the food at this establishment and found the service to be a little inconsistent. Prices are good too so I will certainly be returning here on future trips to Atlanta.

The service here is great. Everyone is friendly and very attentive. I love cheeseburgers. I found this restaurant cooked mine just right and the meat and cheese were delicious. I loved the bread and and home fries too. My daughter eats here all the time because she loves their choice for the gluten free diet she is on. The indoor outdoorsy feel is superb.

R. Thomas was recommended to us by a friend. Convenient location but a little challenging to find if you're driving and looking for a sign; instead just look for a carnival-like explosion of colors outside. The food was so fresh and delicious. Will look forward to a return visit.

The first time we set eyes on R. Thomas Deluxe Grill we were taken aback by it's eclectic exterior. The second time was when we decide to drop in for dinner (because of it's exterior). What we found inside was amazing. Every dish was all natural, organic, and/or grass fed. My friend and I opted for the Southern Range Chicken that came with a mashed potato that was so natural I could taste the earthiness. The Chicken was slow roasted and finished on a grill. I opted for Broccoli and their Seaweed Salad which was full of flavor and real seaweed. The meals are reasonably higher priced by 1 or 2 dollars but, I don't mind paying extra if it's natural and organic. The food is pretty much devoid of salt but, a wonderful Sea Salt brand is on the table and perfects the dish.

Went here with a couple of friends. I loved that they had vegan options that tasted great! I had options, which never really happens at other restaurants.

Super cool, funky, hippy style 24 hour diner serving breakfast, lunch and many vegan and vegetarian options in Mid Town. Sporting a multicolor Americana hippy decoration style and birds out front this place is certainly unique. The variety of food on the menu is amazing and all very fresh. The orders at our table ranged from breakfast to Thai to Tex-Mex to vegetarian and all were tasty and consumed entirely. Appetizers around $5-8, salads $9, entrees $10-20. Huge portions. The service was excellent and really friendly. A keeper - I'll be back!

This is the second time we ate here. We just love the crazy, eccentric atmosphere, the tasty and healthy food and drinks. Though this has nothing to do with the quality of the food and service in this rating... When we walked up to the place past the birdcages there was a Ford pick up truck parked right next to the building and we couldn't help but notice that it had two Trump make America better bumper stickers on the fender and Mr. Thomas was outside cleaning the birdcages because apparently that's about all he does anymore. We were certainly taken aback because all the peace love and happy surroundings simply don't reconcile with and ardent Trump voter. My girlfriend said maybe it is somebody else's truck but when I got up again to stretch my legs before my food arrived I walked outside to check the birds again mr. Thomas was there I went and looked at one of the birds Mr. Thomas was standing next to me and with a peaceful loving smile on my face I said to him your birds here are really beautiful he didn't give me any eye contact and kind of grunted in a mean way, closed the last birdcage he was working on, got in his Trump mobile and drove away! What the hell! Has any one else noticed this disconnect? Donald Trump represents The opposite of everything that this restaurant espouses to be, we will never go back!

The exterior and the interior of this place take you back to the 60s/70s with all the groovy designs, disco balls, flashing lights, bird cages with talking parrots, etc. Food was great, but a bit overpriced for what it is. Grilled cheese is good value and comes with potatoes.

hippie/reggae vibe. Laid back, waiting area was in the kitchen. The food was really good. had multiple option for my GF diet. Good position. if your looking to get away from cookie cutter restaurants this is the place.

Always come here when I crave some French Toast. The best around. I chose the big breakfast. Scrambled eggs are amazing and so if the veggie sausage. Delicious is all I can say to this. The staff is always super friendly as well.

In Atlanta you have numerous choices of restaurants in a square mile. R. Thomas stood out with the bright colors and outdoor decor so we decided to go in and give them a try without checking any ratings as we normally do for a first time restaurant. This place is terrific! I had the Portabella Melt with red onions, zucchini, and white cheddar. It has great presentation and flavors that go together that you wouldn't normally see combined in a dish at other restaurants. My husband raved about the Thomas Burger. He said it wasn't a regular burger that you could tell it had a better grade of meat and quality ingredients. The menu was filled with lots of great choices that would please even the toughest food critic or a vegetarian that needs more choices. Great atmosphere and service!

If a friend or family member books a flight to or from the Atlanta airport at a very early morning time (because that's when the cheap rates are) and you want to grab a bite to eat in the middle of the night, R Thomas Deluxe Grill is a unique option. Not only is the menu different from the chains that built their reputations serving pancakes and waffles, but the decor is unlike any other restaurant that is open all the time. The restaurant has a variety of different foods. Gluten free and vegan options are available. We at a very early breakfast and everything was wonderful. The Cinnamon Girl Yerba Mate Tea Latte was delicious. It alone would justify another visit.

This place covers all the bases....good vegetarian fare, drinks, regular meals, desserts and there is sure to be something for everyone. It is terrific that it serves food late (Brisbane, Australia, please take note....everything should not close at 8pm as if there is a curfew!!). The variety of people who patronised it late that night confirms that it is a winner with people from all walks of life. If you are a beer fan, try the Hopsecutioner IPA! Good service and delicious desserts caps things off :)

I go here all the time. Food is awesome. Staff is great. Located in buckhead. Always crowded but it's worth the wait. I live in Atlanta and I eat here a lot so if your visiting you have to eat here 😅

I’ve been here 3 times over the years; wish I lived closer so I could frequent this restaurant more often. There are options for everyone; vegans, vegetarians, and the omnivores. I love the hot Blue Moon drink it’s a mix of teas and non-dairy milks; weird in the most wonderful way...just like me. The dips that came with the chips were so ummummmgood! I had a party of 19 people; they had to split us, but it worked out okay and they made up for it, especially because I was the birthday girl. (^_^)

You won't find many places like this in Atlanta. I particularly enjoy their hours of operation. Knowing that I can get a chai tea latter or a fresh juice at 2 AM is a major plus. The food options are different to say the least yet very tasty, it is a great place for vegans and anyone seeking organic options. I am a fan of the smoothies and warm chicken salad. There are many other favorite items from the menu but the review would get too long. Be open minded when visiting R. Thomas, you won't find a common menu. I love it and go there almost weekly.

My favorite anytime restaurant! Food is always great! Service is the best in the city!! I have never had a bad meal and recommend for all type of diners!

I didn’t expect much from this funky restaurant, because it doesn’t seem like much. However, once we learned the history of R Thomas and his vision, it made the place a wonderful destination. There are a series of exotic birds to interact with outside the restaurant, and they each have such quirky characteristics. The dining area is colorful and lively. The food was excellent. Anyone on a special diet could absolutely find a GREAT meal here.

I have the experience of eating here for lunch. The fish tacos were awesome. The veggies were sautéed to perfection and the service was great. Although organic food is more expensive, the prices are a bit high. Although the food quality is excellent and the presentation was outstanding. The owner was very observant and presented his quality of food with a proud smile. I will visit R. Thomas Deluxe Grill again.

IT's The bestessessesss if u r a healthy eater or not….service Is great...the atmosphere is special. & I met R. THOMAS himself…. he was the bestessesseesseee!!!

Me and my vegan friend found this great place. Very relaxed with nice music in the background and perfect service. Good variety on the menu for both of us!

A really fun family friendly atmosphere, but the food wasn't great and a bit overpriced. I can appreciate paying more for organic ingredients, but the warm salad I had was soupy and too sweet. My husband said his quesadilla lacked seasoning. Our daughter's child menu burger was very well done, but ok. The orange juice was very good.

Brunch was great. Plenty of options for those with dietary restrictions. Brunch was very quiet. Service was good too.

Everything is delicious. The chicken dishes are amazing and my friends enjoy the vegetarian fare. My favorite is the lemon and herb linguine.

As I type this my sister just said 'how is even the bread good as f***?!' I've been eating here over 7yrs and its a MUST EAT for any visitors I have in Atlanta. Long wait after the club closes because the whole city knows what's up. I've eaten a million things on the menu, and I'm the type to stick to one thing at restaurants. Quinoa bowls, pasta dishes, hamburgers, home fries, FRENCH TOAST... Everything is unique and amazing. Very quirky spot, I've been here more times than any other Atlanta restaurant.

I had just finished a massage/facial at RYSE. The LMT recommended this restaurant knowing I was gluten free and ate organic. I walked about a mile towards midtown to find the place. It is very artsy and colorful! I was seated quickly & asked about a gluten free menu. She asked what I was interested. I had my first WRAP in 3 YEARS as they had rice wraps!!!! Thank you so much! The wrap & organic salad was delicious!! I was delighted with experience & would recommend this establishment to anyone who likes to eat healthy! The prices were reasonable as well as the service was good! Thanik you!

My parents live very close to R Thomas, and it was the first place my mom took me to when I visited! We had a great time looking at the parrots outside, and the fun interior. I really enjoyed my smoothie and food and would definitely come back.

Healthy food that tastes great. This is a one of a kind place found nowhere else but in Atlanta. Wild funky atmosphere, open 24/7, it is an Atlanta landmark. Thank you Richard for the legacy.

Got the California Omelette!! Great fresh food!! This place is a landmark that is consistent. Don't forget to speak to the Parrots as you enter.

They serve a really good scrambled tofu! Had that one, together with fruits on the side, R’s apple and orange juice and coffee. Awesome! Extra plus for a god vibe and good music.

Not the first time I go there over the years and I must admit, it's been consistently... bad. Never the less it's packed. Why? Maybe because _as it was the case again for me yesterday_ it's open late? Or maybe_and thats what I suspect_ the decor, the bohemian- hippy looking look build over the years give it a charm? But it certainly has nothing to do with whats in the plate. The Flax seed chips were a little painful to eat and my supposed "southern" chicken was bland & dry, and overall tasteless, even the mashed potatoes were disapointing. Now to be honest: The lemon key lime pie was good. Thank god I love desserts.

The food here is delicious! I highly recommend visiting this place. There are so many healthy and tasty choices - it's hard to make a decision. I had one of their salads and a quinoa bowl as well as a PBJ shake.

Loved the hippie ambience and the vibe, but the food was so-so (I thought they'd do a mean veggie burger, but it was pretty tasteless; my companions liked their burgers but the bread was dull). Surprised that such a simple order took a while, but staff was friendly enough. Still it's hard not to like the place. I bet it really shines at 3 in the morning when the bars get out.

Living out of a hotel for work can be rough; doing it for 12 days in a row can make one long for the creature comforts of home. I'm so glad a local colleague recommended R Thomas for healthy, late-nite meals after our long days working at the GWCC. They're super healthy, yet delicious menu is both vegan and omnivore friendly. I actually woke up feeling like a million bucks each morning after I ate here, like my power levels had been restored by the fresh fruits and veggies. Special shot out to Ben, our server, who was excellent and has great Atlanta recommendations. Another deserved shout out to the MoJo JoJo (the best smoothie I've ever had) and to the Big Bang, a soothing heated ginger tonic that could stave off any sickness. Thanks, R Thomas!

R Thomas is justly famous in Atlanta for providing a wonderfully creative menu of excellent dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Located midway between the arts district and Buckhead on Peachtree St, this small restaurant is surrounded by personally tended flowers and trees, decorated with loving flair inside and out, and seats perhaps three dozen under an all weather cover that is just great fun, at least in this warm southern city. There are many organic vegetarian & carnivorous choices, served with the most savory and delectable sauces, all presented with five-star pride in a casual dining atmosphere. Replete and delighted, be sure to visit a moment with the birds on your way to the parking lot. Not the usual bedraggled captives, these are healthy and well tended birds, including several rescue parrots, one or two of them much older than people usually get. Stop and let them tell you where to get off, or walk on by while they whistle at your girlfriend, but appreciate the investment this business makes in providing professional care and a maximum of well-being for birds that usually meet an unhappy end. I recommend R Thomas with pleasure and gratitude to all who can appreciate the finer things in life.

Terrible! I have driven by this place for years and finally decided to stop in. I don't know how this place stays in business it's really bad! The chicken was microwaved, too dry to eat actually had a hard time chewing!

I love the atmosphere, ambiance and food at this establishment! If you haven't been then you really need to go...not kidding!

Needs a good cleaning, a bit dirty for sure, dinner was good, veggie quesadilla...there was a lot to eat so I brought my left overs home and had them for breakfast.
I LOVE this place
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere! The décor is eclectic and full of fun, making every visit a unique experience. I especially love checking out the birds in the cages—they add a special touch to the atmosphere. The food is always fresh, healthy, and delicious. The service is friendly and attentive, ensuring a great dining experience every time. Plus, they're open 22 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with breakfast available all day. A must-visit for anyone looking for a delightful meal and a vibrant ambiance!
