Friends had mentioned this location as a place we might want to try for dinner. The food was okay, nothing special. I had a fusilli dish and the menu stated it came with tomatoes and prosciutto. This was the first time in my life that I had to ask the wait staff if they brought me the correct dish. I could not find the prosciutto and there was one blob of tomato atop the pasta. They told me I had the dish I had ordered. Very poor. The one thing I did notice was that there seemed to be a lot of "regulars" in the restaurant. Some of them didn't even look at a menu. They sat down and in short order, food was brought out to their table. The wait staff seemed to focus on these people, which is understandable, but you can't be so obvious when doing so. It just rubbed me the wrong way. Some of the customers looked like they walked right off the set of "Goodfellas". I would never consider going back there to eat. There are a countless number of quality restaurants in Philadelphia. Save yourself the disappointment and stay away from this place.

The food is very good! However the staff leaves something to be desired. We still left a twenty percent tip but they would have got more had the waiter not rolled his eyes when we asked for more glasses to have a toast among old friends!

Good Italian food. Nice selection of meals. The meals came out promptly and were very good. The only change I would recommend is that they serve better Italian bread.

This is one of my favorite places to eat when I visit Philadelphia. The Buffalo Mozzarella as an appetizer is in believable. Anything with a pink sauce is amazing. Headed back to New Mexico with memories of the great Italian food in Philly.

The food here is amazing. This might be my favorite italian BYOB in Philadelphia. However, the service was a little disappointing at the beginning. It took about 10 minutes for someone to come to the door to greet us, but that was all forgotten when we got our food...DELICIOUS!

Overall excellent rating for the following reasons: Parking nearby, clean facilities, food presentation flavor & servings, ambiance, friendly staff, good coffee, and cannoli.

Great branzino. The veal was excellent. Great brushetta. Brought a nice bottle of wine. Perfect anniversary night

Great restaurant and authentic, A must are their appettizer, try them all, Pasta dishes are cooked to perfections and are a nice portion, remember is a BYB. Enjoy It is a BYB. Enjoy

We live and work in Philly and we know the Scene. We are foodies (we bring our own wine glasses to restaurants). Our favorite BYOB in Philly is Raddichio. Get the warm buffalo mazzerella (a special) and the grilled calamari mixed with the grilled octopus. They are separate apps, but if you ask the restaurant will give you half and half. Also, an unmentioned item is the green olive and Italian cheese plate yummy. The Dover sole is THE BEST I have had anywhere. My wife loves the veal mellanaise. Their sister restaurant Sotto on 24th street is also very good. Love them.

Radicchio is out of the way and hard to find. However, once you do you will not be disappointed. The food and service are excellent. In particular, the fish preparations are outstanding with a fresh and tasty twist. The chicken and veal are also excellent. There is a wide variety of pasta preparations and there are always numerous specials. They so not accept reservations so get their early. During seasonal weather there is very good outdoor seating on a small street with little traffic across from a lovely green space.

Yummy Italian BYOB. Small sapce. make reservations on weekend nights, and try not to sit anywheres near the door in the winter.

Most authentic Italian food I've found in the Philadelphia area. Always friendly and courteous staff. BYO, no reservation. Be prepared to wait if you come at dinner time on Friday or Saturday, but it's always worth the wait.

This place was on a list of suggested Italian eateries in Philly from a former south Philly resident. It was a Sunday, and most of the other places were closed and this one was nearby. Yes, it’s tucked away off the beaten path, but that’s what makes it all the more special! A cute little corner store turned restaurant, it’s a BYOB joint which i wish we had figured out earlier. The place has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and on a dark damp rainy Sunday night was fairly busy. The menu is not extensive, but there’s enough to satisfy 2 hungry parents and 2 picky teenage boys. The fresh buffalo mozz is great, the basket of bread plentiful, and the pasta fresh and delicious! If I live in Philly, this wild be my Cheers kind of place. Warm, welcoming, delicious food, exceptional service like no other, and not one bit fussy. Ciao!

We double dated with our neighbors early one evening as this is relatively close to our homes. The place is always packed so we were glad to get there at 5:30pm and snag a table for by 6pm, there was a line out the door and stayed that way until we left an hour later. Our servers were professional although not engaging so if you like to banter with your waiter, don't bother. They are too busy and quite frankly, I don't think many of them understood English too well. We shared a beet salad and artichoke salad to start. I much preferred the artichokes as they were full stem on and nicely flavored whereas the beets were nothing special. For entrees I had the salmon and my husband had a scallop and shrimp dish with pasta and vodka sauce that was creamy and dreamy. My salmon was cooked to perfection and the accompanying asparagus and tomatoes were very light in a good way. Our neighbors both ordered pasta dishes that they said were also very good. It is a BYOB so you are free to imbibe as you please and there is no cork fee. It was a solid dining experience that did not disappoint.

I am giving Radicchio 3 1/2 stars. The restaurant was a BYOB which is great. When we walked in the Host sat us immediately. It took a while for us to get menus. We started with a buffalo mozzarella and a beet salad. Both were YUMMY! Then for my entrée I order the Whole wheat penne with chicken and broccoli. Well they did not have penne and they substituted it with spaghetti, my friend ordered the Penne Positano but again they substitute it with bowtie pasta and my sister order the Farfalle Toto, no substitutions there. My entrée came out lukewarm, I should have returned it to be heated up a little longer but I was hungry and it was still okay but if it had come out really hot it would have been great. When it was time to pay the check, I gave them my credit card and they did not accept credit cards. WHAT!!! When we walked in the restaurant the sign that said 'No Credit Cards' was not in the window. That was a little disappointing. Would I go again, I would because the overall experience was good.

Dinner and appetizers were good. The bread was very disappointing. it is a BYOB restaurant. be prepared to stand in line. Worth the wait.

Stopped in for a late dinner and enjoyed a wonderful Italian meal. Service was especially quick, and since we were hungry, that was greatly appreciated. We can recommend both the veal and the chicken.

Radicchio Cafe has been around for quite a while and always does a nice job.Friendly welcoming atmosphere. One of my favorite BYOBs in town but they do not take reservations so get there either early or go later. I've waited at times but never too long. Excellent Italian Food at very reasonable prices. Good pasta and fish specials. Bring a nice bottle of red and you will enjoy yourself!

We have our holiday luncheon here every year. The four appetizers, Broccoli Rabe With Sausages, Focaccia Caprese which is mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto, tomatoes, Roasted peppers with provolone cheese, and Grilled Octopus were served family-style and they were superb. There were over 35 people in our group and we still had our choice of over eight entrees. I had the bow-tie pasta with shrimp, scollops with sun dried tomatoes in a pink sauce. All of our entrees were on time and the service is wonderful.

Had a great time and dinner. Grilled octopus is a must. All appetizers were great. I had the chicken with eggplant which was very good. Too much arugula for me but still enjoyed. The veal another diner had was tough. Waiter was excellent!! overall we had a great experience. Portions are large.

After hearing so many good comments about Radicchio, we had to try it. However, it was not worth the hype! On a Saturday during the summer when most people are down the shore, we expected to wait but not for as long as we did since arriving at 8:30. We waited for over an hour and finally were seated about 9:45, then felt rushed since they close about 10:30. The wait was absurd, the server was a bit snooty after seeming to have a bad night and the food was only ok. NOT WORTH THE HYPE!!

I have had the privilage of eating here many times over the years and have watched this once small unknown little restaurant become a Phily classic. A true Italian cafe with wonderfull pasta and the best Medeteranian Sea Bass (Bronzino) in the city.

This restaurant is a bit out-of-the-way from the main body of restaurants in the region. However it is very convenient to the main routes in and out of the city. It can be accessed easily without the hassle of inner-city driving. The ambience is pleasant. Service was wonderful. My friend Had the octopus dish which was wonderful though a bit “authentic” appearing. I had a Caesar salad with salmon which was also superbly done. Service was prompt. The restaurant was quiet.

Nice place. Very nice space. Great service. Really nice italian comfort food. It’s BYOB, so that keeps prices reasonable. I will certainly return!!

The food here is always delicious and fresh and priced well. Went with my wife and another couple and everyone loved their food. The grilled calamari is delicious and well worth it. All in all it is my favorite BYOB in Philly and is always my first choice.

I was invited to dinner by friends who live in Philadelphia and I had the best dinner. I had the grilled octopus appetizer which is one of my favorites and hard to find. For my main dish, I had an appetizer portion of seafood and pasta in a black ink sauce, it was excellent. My friends brought a bottle of wine. We all enjoyed our selections. the service is excellent.

......reveals why we've heard such great things. Early Sunday dinner - second patrons in the restaurant - the service was welcoming but nor pressing; food was superb - squid ink pasta with seafood special was perfectly done - flavors lingered nicely. Beef Carpaccio was delightful; it was simply a delightful evening. Definitely will return.

Absolutely perfect evening. Amazing food. Beautiful atmosphere, complete with strings of lights on the patio. Best meal we had in Philly!

we went there on a sudayn with 10 people, they opened a half hour earlier for us, it is a byo place and you have to park on the street which was no problem, i had the octopus appetizer which was very good and the lamb ragu pasta which was great, everyone enjoyed their meal a must visit.

This was a good place to visit -- easy to find, parking free & readily available, & staff was friendly. The food, however, was tasty but not stellar, nicely presented, & fairly priced.

This restaurant has the feel of a local hangout with above average food. Great for lunch. Crowded for dinner. Vegetables are delicious especially the eggplant rollatini and sauteed spinach. Nice wine list.

Thanks for a wonderful intimate dining experience. Had dinner here on Monday with a colleague and we had grilled calamari, home made pasta in appetizer portions and fish (bronzino). Capped it off with cappuccino and cannoli. All elements of the meal were top notch with the exception of the overly cooked broccoli side to the fish. It tasted good, just too much time in the heat. Service was wonderful - attentive, timely and friendly - without being intrusive. Atmosphere was friendly and warm, if a bit too loud. Five stars for the simple fact that there are no TVs in the joint. It is a sad testimony to today's dining world that it is sometimes hard to find a restaurant without a TV (or ten) hanging out over the proceedings. Thank you!

I get really upset when I pay higher than average prices for a meal , and when the food arrives, waiter says "who gets this , who gets that" -- for that kind of service, I could eat at a diner with just as good food & lower prices. I mean really, salads priced at $ 10.00 ?? Another point -- when we arrived the other nite , we were not told that their credit card machine was not working. At the end of the meal, when I pulled my credit card out of my wallet to pay, the waiter told me that their machine was down. Thankfully, we had enough cash to settle the tab. On our way out, we asked what if we had not had enough cash to settle, he then said that they could have written down our credit card number & run it the next day. Not sure if we would have been comfortable with them having our credit card number written down, but we feel that should have been offered to us as an option rather than just basically having us assume that our only option was paying in cash.

Was reluctant to provide this review as this small Italian BYOB can be difficult to get into as it does not accept reservations. Once you get past the parking, which can be a nightmare in this neighborhood, you're in for a treat. The menu has been the same for years but there is enough of a variety and there are usually great specials. Everything is good. We especially enjoyed the grilled octopus, gorgonzola salad, dover sole and grilled lamb chops. One of the specials was a veal marsala that was excellent. Finished up with a couple deserts including french vanilla gelato, some biscotti and Sambuca that were on the house which concluded a great meal. You must try.

This is a very nice restaurant. We ate there last night and had a very enjoyable meal. There is outdoor seating. Since it was hot out we sat inside where it was air conditioned. Had for starters: the marinated seafood plate, greens with slices of fried sausage and garlic and a plate of roasted sweet, red peppers. The pasta mains were all delicious. The bow-tie pasta with shrimps and scallops in a creamy, rose sauce tasted good. We shared a tiramisu and a slice of lemon pie for dessert. The tart was a bit dry. It's BYOB and there is no corking fee. Service was friendly and efficient. Dinner for 6 with tip was USD185.

Best Italian food in the area, regardless of price. Have eaten here several times and the food and service have never been anything less than excellent. While vacationing in Naples Italy last month I met a gentleman that was born and raised in Naples. He proceeded to tell me how he has traveled to several states in the US for work and the best meal he had in the US was at a little Italian restaurant named Radicchio. Ironically this has been my favorite Italian restaurant for years.

Second time we've been here in vol weather when I felt like i needed to put my coat and gloves on. Good has been mediocre at best on both occasions. And both tlmes overpriced. Bright spotwad service. Although we were the only ones there except some quiet heavy BYO wine drinkers in the corner. The owner was attentive if a little pretentious. Atmosphere is more like a grill than a restaurant.

First visit at this BYO trattoria. Packed on a Friday night but the wait wasn't long and the food was worth it. Quickly prepared, tasty, generous portions at reasonable prices. Service was friendly and atmosphere was convivial but cramped. Would retry on a weeknight, Pasta dishes were delicious, chicken parm featured a quality piece of chicken, and squid/octupus was reported to be well prepared.

The food was delicious. We ordered an appetizer, Brushetta Paesana, which was tasty but very small portion, hardly enough to share. For entree, we split Penne Toto, which they charged a splitting fee. Service was good. Friendly atmosphere. People seemed to know each other. It was a nice walk from the historic attractions (Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, etc.). Recommended by a local shop owner. We had no waiting, but it got busy shortly after we arrived. Bring your own wine, if you want some (this is a BYOB). Nice view, by a corridor of flowering trees.

I hate to write a review for this restaurant because I would like to keep it a hidden secret. It's such a wonderful little treasure in the city. This BYO is about as authentic Italian as we can get in the US. The food is delicious and the staff is great. It's BYO which is just an added bonus. We ordered a variety of food and were thoroughly impressed by it all. We will definitely be back many more times!

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. The staff is top notch and the best in town. Very attentive! The food is delicious and on par with what I ate in Italy. It's not the typical heavy nonsense that Americans assume is Italian food. The only con is the wait in winter. The place is popular and it's a cramped space so get there early (or after the rush) and try to get a table away from the door.

Very small, BYO restaurant with excellent food and great service. Have been a few times and each time was a treat. Only a few tables and no reservations (at least when we went) so we went early. Really enjoyed the food and small-location ambiance.

If you're looking for a nice neighborhood dining experience, you simply can't beat Cafe Radicchio. We've eaten here several times and haven't been disappointed yet. In addition to the complimentary bruschetta, the grilled octopus or mussels with clams in tomato sauce are fabulous starters. The salmon topped with chopped tomato and asparagus is a favorite entree. The pasta and especially their pink vodka sauce is also outstanding. An assortment of wonderful homemade desserts are available and go great with a nice cappuccino. Wait staff are attentive but not pushy. With typical entrees running from $15 - $20, this BYO restaurant is routinely busy even with seasonal outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

We went with friends a couple of (cold) nights ago to celebrate the holiday together. The place was cozy and packed. We were quickly welcomed and told there'd be about 15 min wait. (not a problem for us) We chatted and watched the other diners enjoying their meals. Seeing those plates go by only whetted our appetites! <grin> (The wall of wine corks on one side is very unique and interesting.) The meal was delicious from our salads to our entrees and the service was attentive. Also, the waiter brought us small complimentary glasses of Sambuca to top off the meal! The Christmas lights strung around, gave it a festive holiday atmosphere. Loved it, will definitely go back.

One of the best restaurants in New Jersey, we met the owner Luigi 15 years ago , the restaurant reminds me my trip to Italy . The food , staff and the atmosphere are amazing , We Usually go ask the chef to choose dishes for us , you don’t know what’s coming next ...,the pictures below can’t describe how good the food is . I used to visit this restaurant 15 years ago and it’s still amazing! Can’t wait for my next visit . Thank you for bringing Italy to Us .

Not the best experience at all. Even tough that my Daughter made the reservation days in advance and I personally confirmed it the same day, we waited for almost one hour "Outside" in the cold, because they don't have a waiting area. The Food wasn't that great like the people that they recommended this place; - the Octopus and the special Mozzarella were delicious; - but the entrees were questionable to the fullest; - the Pasta Ravioli Lobster was just average and the portion too small for the value that they charged; - the Branzino Fish was too salty and the Steak too spice In top of that, the space of the whole restaurant is so small. The conversations are so loud that is literally impossible to have a Family dinner.

With no reservations for small parties, you can expect a wait for a table. Watching waiters bring out fresh, beautiful, aromatic dishes just whets your palate. And the food did not disappoint: Perfectly cooked calimari, fresh tomato sauce on the homemade pasta, a nicely cooked veal chop. BUT, the service stinks. After being seated, it took at least 15 minutes till a waiter wandered over. Water glasses were never refilled. There was a long wait in between courses. And worst of all, halfway through our dinner, we were asked to move to another table. What a buzz-kill; it's telling your guests, "Yo, this other group is more important than you, so get your butts out of your seats." After that, the complimentary slice of tiramisu left a foul taste in our mouths. This is one of those places where, if you don't know the owners/managers personally, you can expect to be ignored.

I've never had a bad experience here. Been here with my wife and large groups and always had good food and service. It's certainly not in the top 10 Italian restaurants in the city, but still good. My bill always seems higher than expected for the quality of the food. BYOB is a great feature, without it I doubt I would frequent here often (at least at its current pieces). It does not have the of La Viola, but is also not as loud and the tables have more privacy.

This is a go to place for dinner when we visit family in the philly/old city area. They do not take reservations unless it is for a very large group so if you have a larger party (more than 4) make sure to go early when they open (I believe around 5pm for dinner) or be ok with waiting for a table (it is worth it). First off, great Italian dishes, classic and inventive options. Filled with flavor. They are accommodating to children as well...I have 3 aged 8 and under! Very friendly and family feel. Service is delightful, fun and friendly - my toddler spilled and broke an entire glass of water (I looked away for like 2 seconds) and they could not be kinder and made a very embarrassing situation quite easy. This is your small city restaurant/cafe so you get that special attention and the buzz of a city crowded and friendly atmosphere. And I cannot fail to mention that the prices are extremely reasonable given the great food and the city location. I don't know if it can be beat for food and price. They are open for lunch as well! Enjoy :)

I have been coming here, mostly for lunch, for years. The food is always fantastic. The service is impeccable. All of the staff always have a friendly 'hello' & big smile for everyone.

really nice food . very nice atmosphere and good service. i really enjoy with farfalle delizia and my girlfriend farfalle toto.

I used to live around the corner from this place and it is still a favorite of mine. The space is small, as are many BYOB's in the city. Service is great, food is consistently yummy. Get the grilled octopus appetizer and the veal limone entree. My husband and I crave them regularly. The tartuffo dessert is very good. They do not take reservations but they are happy to open you wine and serve it to you as your party waits for your table. Not your typical pasta and gravy type Italian cooking. Expect grilled fish, light al dente vegetables and zesty flavors. Try parking in the spots at the end of Randolph Street. Affordable and elegant option for the city. It's possible to have a full meal for 2 at about $50 before tip.

We were in Philly for a sight seeing trip and lucky for us we found this great place. My sisters brother-in-law lives right across the street and he's a regular here. When he invited us over for drinks he said bring a bottle of wine for dinner. Not ever going to a byob, I was pretty excited. We had packed a few whites and a rose for the trip so I was prepared. They don't charge a corkage fee and they even changed glasses when we switched from rose to red. Nice touch indeed!! The atmosphere and decor where nice, but the foods are where they shine. Grilled calamari that melts in your mouth. All us where very pleased with our meals. He told me this is a locals place and it was packed on a Monday evening. If I lived locally, I would be a regular as well!

We stopped in to Radicchio before a concert in the city. The food and service were great and it seemed a nice little neighborhood spot where we didn't feel like out-of-towners. At the time, it was BYOB, they didn't take reservations and there were plenty of people waiting by the time we left.

Best Italian food I've ever had.

They don't take reservations, but thankfully we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table for 6. It's summer in the city so it's a little easier to get a table. I noticed that everything was taken by 7pm, so when people came after that they weren't getting a table. The waitstaff is very attentive and professional. I had the penne positano, it was delicious. I had some of my husband's rigatoni with meatballs, also delicious. Everyone we were with was happy with their meal. I will definitely return.

The first impression were the manners of all of the employees. Each employee knew their job and assisted each other. As for food, just delicious. For a party of nine, they did forgot one meal...but expeditiously covered there mistake and stayed on there toes after that. Our family meets there once a year, being that we live in different areas, and are never disappointed.

One of the cases in which the rating on TripAdvisor is completely not reflecting the quality of the restaurant. Personally I'd love to keep this restaurant unpopulated, however truth has to be said: This is a wonderful restaurant we keep coming back to, and see many faces which repeat there again and again, for decades. The menu is rather simple - however, each dish we had was a win. Food here is GOOD! fresh ingredients, all dishes made in a classical way. Salads, appetizers, entrees, desserts - all enjoyable. Don't forget to bring your own wine, and come early (they open at 5pm as far as i know) or expect some wait time.

I have eaten here several times in the past few years. It is a quaint little restaurant with great food and service. It can be a little noisy since it is so small. You bring your own wine. It is not overly expensive for the quality of food.It gets very crowded, they do a great amount of business.

We went with a group of four on a Saturday night. The wait was not too long and the host was very accommodating. Great food. Recommend especially the sole and the pasta in vodka sauce. And it's BYOB. Parking was a challenge.

Had amazingly delicious Branzino fish dinner here with a side of broccoli rabe. Large portion and so flavorful and tender. Couldn't eat the cabbage or mashed potatoes that actually came with the dish because I am also lactose intolerant and allergic to tomatoes but they sure smelled good. The other guests loved them. Don't usually eat dessert but The lemoncello dessert was authentic and scrumptious. Lovely place, nice staff, very Mediterranean. Will bring my husband here when we are in Philadelphia again. It's very popular. So get there early - they don't take reservations, and BYOB.

Hello Tripsters, we had a Blast in the Historical District of Philadelphia. So it’s Sunday afternoon, after having Brunch at Farmicia. (Review to follow). How does one fulfill a dinner option locally, simple, Radicchio Cafe. Which is located five minutes away from the Wyndham Hotel. It’s a quaint Italian Restaurant on the corner of York and Wood Street. You can Bring your own Vintage, there’s dining Al Fresco, which was a lovely experience, The Menu impressive, the decor nice and the staff wonderful. We settled on their Special of Ragu Lamb served with Pappardelle Pasta. It was Decadent. Masterfully done. This was a great night and a wonderful way to finish our Philadelphia Getaway. Today is Sunday October 29, 2017. And we are going to reminisce that experience by cooking the same meal. Radicchio Restaurant raises the bar, well done. Thank you. Chef Edwin Padilla Good Food...Good Vibes

Very very good. Well prepared. Quaint Italian vibe. Windows to the street and walls covered in wine corks. Definately recommended.

This place is a hidden gem with great Italian food. The homemade mozzarella is amazing, as are the fish dishes. Great meal and the BYOB part makes it even better.

When the weather is nice, sit outside! The special grilled calamari salad was delish as was the beet salad. Bronzini for two was absolutely perfect. The mashed potatoes and green vegetables were pretty basic but all in all it was a great dining experience. We've been here many times and have always had a great meal.

I had an octopus appetizer that was fabulous and a great pasta for dinner as well. The salad was a little boring but perhaps I only think that because there was a similar salad under my octopus. Bring your own wine as they don't have a liquor license yet but will cheerfully uncork and pour for you.

Dined there while on business in the area. This place was recommended by one of the local since we were staying by the airport and it was early in the evening. We weren't sure what to expect, but were lucky to get a table for six in this small place. That was just the beginning. The staff was fantastic and really accommodating to our needs. The food was well presented and fresh. Liked the hidden location, and easy access to major highways. We truly enjoy dining at Radicchio Café...we'll definitely dine there next time in the Philly area.

My friends and I stopped by before going to see a show on Sunday. Very nice atmosphere. Great service also. The Food was delicious!!Everyone loved their dinner. Would definitely return.

Delicious Food. Long Wait.

We hadn't been here in a long while but the place is still great. Radicchio is a very popular BYOB that does not take reservations. Our party of three went on a Wednesday night and the place was packed both inside and outside. We waited for about 40 minutes and it was all uphill from here. I forgot how great the food is a this restaurant. We began with a large arugula salad that we ended up splitting three ways. Great homemade dressing with quality Olive oil. Tomato bruschetta was brought for the table and was a nice touch. We next shared an appetizer special of eggplant parmesan that was fresh, large, and outstanding. My wife had the Langostino entrée which she enjoyed but was slightly overdone and made it difficult to remove from the shells. Our son and me enjoyed our pasta entrees he had a scallop and shrimp fusilli in a blush sauce and I had a crabmeat pasta in a very light white sauce. Both entrees were outstanding and large, we both took to go boxes. We loved the food, only downside is the wait, but the food is worth waiting for.

My family and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Radicchio Cafe in April 2022. Food: we ordered mussels and clams as appetizers, followed by gnocchi, lobster ravioli with shrimp, and sautéed spinach. The appetizers were quite succulent, the mains were tasty and definite hit the spot as we were looking for Italian food. Decor: off the beaten path. We are outside and a warm Spring day. It felt like a homey and comfortable restaurant. Very low key. Service: professional, courteous, and friendly. The servers worked very hard to be attentive to all guests. Cost: fair, not too expensive. Our bill was $84.00 without tip. Note: it’s BYOB.

This neighborhood BYOB restaurant is as cute as a button, warm and inviting. The service is brisk and friendly, the food however is just OK. The Pasta's were overcooked and smothered with sauce; the Dover Sole was nicely filleted but also overcooked and also smothered in something...probably butter; the veal milanese was well cooked but...over breadcrumbed making it a little stodgy and over messy. They need to hone their cooking skills if they are to survive and prosper as there are too many good restaurants in Philadelphia that compete for the same clients?

We just happened on this out of the way restaurant in the center city when we were out riding bikes. They don't take reservations so that can be a bit of a problem except when we were there it was warm and we could wait outside. They even served drinks while we waited. There isn't much space inside to wait for a table so consider that. The food was delicious. The service was quite good. The restaurant is small to medium in size. Prices are relatively inexpensive. Portion sizes are sufficient without being too much. A salad and any entree is a great price meal. Their desserts are fantastic. Espresso was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food.

This BYOB place was a genuine surprise when we met old friends there, It is a storefront with only about 20 tables, but was not too noisy and the food was great. They do not take reservations but seemed to not be an issue as several folks waited patiently and diners were not rushed in any way to make room, Service was very good, pleasant, and timely. They used plenty of garlic which worked for me! Parking in area is a real challenge and you have to know where it is as no stand-out signage. However definitely worth the trip and the search for parking.

My family and I have been frequent patrons of Radicchio for the past ten years. Their Italian food is magnificent and the staff is always quite accommodating. Massimo, Julian and Javier are three of our favorite staff waiters. get their early! They do not take reservations and it fills up quickly. One of our favorite appetizers is smoked mozerarella over shiitake mushrooms. And a favorite entree is short pasta over crab with a touch of hot pepper. Bring your own wine, sit back and enjoy the moment.

This is a solid little BYOB, but I don’t understand the raves. The food is hit and miss. Veal chop was just average, nothing special. And my langoustine were over-cooked, tasteless and tough. On the other hand, the pastas were superb. It’s a BYO. It’s small. It’s loud and there is nowhere to stand while waiting for a table, so if it’s a cold day and they are running late on your reservation, be forewarned, you will not be comfortable at a cozy bar waiting. On the other hand, the service here could not be better or more efficient. They should give lessons, it was that good. As I said, if you want great pasta and salads, this is for you. Otherwise, it’s ho hum.

The food, the atmosphere and service are all great here. Fresh fish and tasty pastas, tomatoes always bursting with flavor, and decent sized portions (without being too much). Also great for lunch!

we have had many meals here. certainly all of them have been excellent. the whole fish is a favorite, though it is expensive. the service is outstanding. outdoor seating is relaxing and pleasant. we often meet interesting people at the next table. The menu could use a little more diversity and updating. BYO makes it possible for us to afford.

First of all, if you're coming to Philadelphia, don't eat at a chain restaurant - that's just stupid. There are so many great authentic Italian (and other) restaurants here, you owe it to yourself to hunt them down and try them! Raddichio's is a lovely little BYOB which focuses on whole fish (filleted at your table) and on pasta, both of which are done with care and are delicious. If you're not from our great state, be aware that BYOB, while a nuisance, allows you to bring a bottle of wine (for which you paid $15) instead of purchasing it from the restaurant for $40. Nice ambiance with big windows that are open in good weather, but lousy acoustics (my only complaint) loud loud loud. Also, get good directions, since it's a little difficult to find (not at all out of the way, just tucked a little off the usual easy-to-navigate Phila grid)

I was delighted by my italian gnocchi! There were hand made I didn't needed to ask it, It was so obvious! The tomato sauce also home made.. delicioso :) There isn't much different plates on the menu, but enough choice for everyone! The service was great! The waiters were respectful and not always coming at our table to check on our plates. They were discrete and that's what we like (as european..). I really recommend! The dessert...... perfecto! The value is more than correct!

Came across the Radicchio Cafe by invitation of some business colleagues who took us there for a quick lunch. I regretted it had to be quick as it is a really family and friendly place with a wonderful ambiance and a very smart menu. Our guests order a number of appetizers, one better than the other, special mention to the grilled octopus, just perfect, tender and cooked to perfection. Had the eggplant rolatini which was just marvelous, tasty, not oily at all. To finalize, the espresso, grain to a fine roast, balanced with a great taste. What a surprise it was. Look forward to coming back.

This place is just plain great. The food is excellent and reasonable priced. The menu has a wide range of options. The service was impeccable and the space is attractive. They have a lot of seating outside. They don't take reservations or serve alcoholic beverages, but you can take your own bottle of wine.

In town for trade show and found this place on the internet. Small place, noisy, crowded, but incredible food at very reasonable prices for a downtown big city restaurant. Does not take reservations but we got right in (5:30 on St Patrick’s Day) and noticed that by 6:30 there were people standing outside. No bar but it does have a BYOB policy. Service was outstanding to put it mildly. The menu is not extensive but is very good. Mussels/clams appetizer is listed as being steamed in white wine with spicy tomato sauce, but option of either white or red. Went with red on advise of waiter and a good choice due to mussels and I felt it was a good choice. Had the veal limon and it was one of the better dishes I have had in a long time. Nice thing about this place is that the portions are intelligent in size. Enough to allow a couple of courses but not enough that you have to stop at McDonalds to fill up. Prices as indicated were quite reasonable no matter if were talking about downtown city place or out in a rural area. Only complaint is that it was noisy but to be honest, that is a stretch to call it a complaint. We plan on hitting again before trade show is over because of quality of food, service, and prices.

comfortable interior as well as outside dining. Radicchio has a feel good environment with energy, wonderful staff, a diverse menu, and daily specials that are exceptional. The red pepper salad and any of the fish dishes (all daily fresh) is a knock out. As an example, the Branzino was outstanding. The dover sole held its own. The pasta dishes are very good, and the special our day was a black linguine with a marvelous sauce. Expected dishes such as chicken. veal, parm are excellent. Finish with a great home made cannoli and/or tiramisu and one has an outstanding meal. Do not miss an opportunity to dine at Radicchio. They have a new location in Voorhees NJ. Pricdes are above moderate, but manageable and will not break the bank. BYOB

Neen here countless times. Always great. Recommend the veal filets if they are on special. Outside seating is great. Perfect little spot for couples.

This was a great place to visit on a cold, winter evening. Even though we arrived about 5:45, it was packed. There wasn't room to wait inside, but we were able to wait in a heated space right outside the door. People kept coming, so a heat lamp was turned out outside the space. The wait time was shorter than expected. Service was prompt, and our waiter was very knowledgeable. I had a calimari appetizer that was delicious - full of grilled flavor and a lemony sauce w/ capers on a bed of arugula. All of our dishes were good: chicken w/ broccoli, tuna steak special (hefty portion of tuna - couldn't finish it), and a chicken milanese dish. Too full for dessert, but I want to go back for the grilled octopus or artichoke appetizers. BYOB.

On a night evening or afternoon, think about sitting outside, but the ambiance inside is equally delightful. The service is terrific and the food is delicious. I have been here several times and it is consistently very good. It is in a nice, non-congested part of the city too. You might be able to find on street parking. We will return again and again.

Found it by accident, seated promptly, it was very busy. Probably about 30 tables, warm, inviting atmosphere but fully occupied and many conversations. The food was fresh and plentiful, Italian menu with some fish and meats. Bring your own wine, no liquor. If you are in the area I recommend trying it.

Radicchio provides excellent and varied Italian food with outstanding and personal service. It has a large menu with many choices, The fish and veal are particularly good. They do not take reservations which can generate a line at popular times. It is well worth the wait. Not to be missed

This Night was indeed special as we celebrated a family member marriage proposal at Radicchio. The staff handled it well. Our party of 10 was treated special and nothing was a problem. As far as the food....this is why we choose this small BYOB. We ordered mussels, bruschetta and a few other goodies that everyone enjoyed. The beet salad was different but it was served with a combination of flavors that was memorable. I enjoyed the salmon. It was served with asparagus and tomatoes with a touch of basil. My table did not complain about their entries so a thumbs up! Ok, the complaints. The parking situation is absolutely horrible. Not much parking so plan accordingly, the room is small. The tables are almost touching. The room can get loud. Overall, if you want a Saturday Night Special dinner, check out Radicchio and come by way of Uber !

Outstanding!!! BYOB
Best italian byob in city
You cannot do better than this great restaurant at any price, anywhere. I recommend the grilled calamari appetizer, then the whole bronzino. Get the lemoncello dessert, then a doppo ecpresso. Leave a nice tip since there is no corkage fee.
