I absolutely love this place! My husband and I had lunch here during our recent trip to Portland. The food was amazing (get the Barley Buddha bowl; you won't be disappointed), drinks were good (they even have a bloody mary bar), and service was above average. We enjoyed the roof top patio and all of the eccentric art. I plan to return here on my next visit to Portland!

Both my wife and I ordered the vegetable hash. What we got was a plate of burnt potatoes that seemed like they were soaked in oil. There were a few threads of greens that represented the "vegetable" part of this dish. Wow, were we disappointed. This the the first and last visit for us.

we returned to the radio room for lunch with some friends on this frozen foggy day. we began with a pacifico beer, and two of our group made their own bloody marys from the 20 ft long bar. my partner showed me the bar with about 40 types of hot sauces, and veggies to qualify as a salad! both drinks hit the spot. 2 of us had the sonic reducer veggie burger with salads, with one with oil/vinegar on whole wheat bread, and the other with ranch dressing with a traditional bun for her veggie feast. my partner had the macademia nut chocolate pancakes with white chocolate added, and bacon. plus she ordered a side salad with bleu cheese. our friend had the turkey zeppelin on a bun with fries. all dishes were delicious. the server was very funny, attentive, and excellent. we always have fun here, and the ambiance is a plus.

We just wanted to go out for the evening and decided on Radio Room per a friend recommendation. My significant other and I just wanted to hang out, and this place hit the spot. We had a couple 'lighter' dishes (including Brussels sprouts). And ordered a couple drinks on their special menu (something to do with charity). Both drinks were good and we can't complain about the plates. Love that you can sit around a fire. (And the upstairs was a nice surprise as my friend said nothing about that to me). All in all, nice place to just unwind and chill. My only complaint would be that there was a few guys that showed up (not together) and looked like they just rolled out of bed (so a bit of a dress code would be nice. Like 'don't show up as if you haven't washed in a couple days or look like you're wearing swim trunks and ripped tanks.... that's just plain laziness).

My SIL booked the lower patio for my brother's 50th Birthday. It was perfect. We had 35-40 people and all went well. Great seating and arrangement for mingling and visiting. Catered food was wonderful and included a vegan option too. (Several people were threatening to lick the Green Goddess dressing from the bowl). Parking right across the street is only $1.50. But the shining star is the service. We had one server for all of us, Jess. She was fabulous. Our ONLY complaint is that she was so quick and stealthy your dish, fork, or napkin may have seemed to disappear. We wanted for nothing. Management checked on our party a few times too. If you need a spot for a party, this is your place.

Had lunch here with 11 relatives (including youngsters). Service was a bit slow, but friendly and accommodating. Homemade tomato soup with toasted cheese sandwich was inventive, very tasty, and satisfying. Best mocha in years!

If the Bloody Mary bar isn't enough, their Eggs Benedict's are amazing. My friend had the smoked salmon Benedict and I had bacon with brie cheese. Yumm! Great atmosphere as well.

Interesting & yummy food options, specialty beers and local art for sale on the walls. As an extra treat, guests staying at the Tiny House Caravan Hotel can receive room service!

This is located across the street from Caravan, our lodging for two nights. It was easy to walk across the street and enjoy drinks and a meal off of the Happy Hour menu. We shared a burger, roasted brussel sprouts and a green salad. All tasty and we had plenty to eat. We sat in the room with the bar, however, had it not been raining and cold, we might have tried the covered patio with the fire pit. After our meal, we simply walked across the street to our lodging. Note: If you are staying at Caravan, you can use the Radio Room's "room service" and have your food delivered to your tiny house.

we came for xmas lunch yesterday, and it was packed...sat at the bar, and had a rainier, and my partner had a specialty cocktail with chocolate and peppermint...next, i had the mushroom acorn squash/brussels sprouts, and she had the crab/cheese dish..both were superb...the bartender/staffer is always so friendly and quick..thx so much...

Between the wait staff, the decor, the menu items..... it is a trip into the Portland culture that comes recommended. While some of the items are not to my liking, it isn't like it was a bad thing....just not my thing. Overall the food was good and not a noisy place to visit. Parking is troublesome but worth the go. Give it a try and see what you think!

Food is good, drinks are good and fire pit and fireplace. Its my favorite bar on Alberta Street. I go often and have taken most of my friends there as well.

Went for lunch w/ my daughter. We were a little early for lunch during the week day. Opens at 11 am. Opened promptly on time. seated quickly and served quickly. We chose the roof top seating. Very nice. Drinks were cold- beer. Very good selection for beers / draft. Food was very good. I had a sandwich and fries. Both were excellent. My daughter had breakfast like food- very good. Service was very attentive but not obtrusive.

This place had a quiet, chill vibe that made for a superb NE PDX moment. We've tried the hustle & bustle of a lot of other places I won't mention here...waiting in line, crowded & noisy dining areas...you know the drill I'm sure. This had an entirely different feel to it, it was relaxing and restorative. We got there right when they opened of course, but we sat outside and enjoyed the calm. The service was superb and the food was high quality and well-presented. As a matter of personal preference I would not recommend the vegetarian gravy for the biscuit, but everything was really nice. I'm a bit of a breakfast nut so I've tried most of the spots in NE (remember old school Beaterville? Vita Cafe?) Anyway I think my endorsement means something when it comes to breakfast joints. Loved this one.

Met a friend here for drinks and food. Great music and food. Wide variety of beer, wine and cocktails. Lower level half inside/half outside was our choice and it was perfect 👌🏻

Really great, relaxed dining. Atmospheric place with attentive, but not over the top, service (we're Brits!) We both had steak frites. The steak was perfect - tender & tasty, the frites were good & made fantastic by the truffle oil. With two good glasses of Argentinian Malbec, a lavender gin fizz (divine) & a beer, the price was just $ 63. Unbeatable value! PS also played great music

My wife and I love outdoor patio seating when the weather is nice and this place has a pretty cool outdoor area. We've only been here twice but both times our food was tasty, drinks were good and the service was great. Dog friendly on the patio too based on us seeing folks with their K-9 buddies there, I think that's awesome too.

Usually take customers here when I am in town, and the weather is nice. I just love the outdoor seating on the upper deck. The food is delicious as well. They got me to like brussels sprouts! Drinks are very delicious and have a good kick to them. The one downside to warn about, there are always people smoking on the top porch, and if this bothers you, you will have a big problem eating here.

Enjoyed the art work in this comfortable funky welcoming diner bar. Warm quick service. Latte was quite good. Some healthy food options. Nice portions meaning not way too much food. Liked their menu. Outdoor covered fire pit was perfect for Portland late winter weather.

Just order the steak frites and you know why I gave 5 stars. Very friendly staff and good cocktails.

This is a great place to meet friends as it's very laid back, is in a hopping neighborhood and the bar makes great drinks. I've been visiting here for years and love the bar. Met friends here last night and was really disappointed. I admit the drinks are still bomb, but the food was very so-so. I was very excited to get the fish tacos, that were alleged to come with a ginger and cilantro cream slaw. I didn't find either, so while the grilled fish was OK, the taco was overall almost tasteless since the slaw tasted only of mayo. My friend ordered the vegan BBQ and reported a similar experience. OK but not great. Now my husband's hamburger was fabulous. So if you go, don't stick strickly to the burgers and you'll enjoy your food! Can't brag on the service either........ Everyone can have an off night, but I sort os expect the A team on A Saturday night.

met for lunch with a friend and sat outdoors upstairs all masked up....i had a rainier, and she had an italian expresso...next, i had the farmers frittata and she had the smoked fish hash...it was so relaxing, warm, and again, great views!...the food is delicious and the place is fun... the staff is very friendly/quick, plus he was funny and nice as can be....be sure to tip big during these challenging times...thx so much!

we returned to radio room for dinner last night with a friend....i had a rainier, and my partner had the same...our friend had a glass of red wine....next i had the johnny royale impossible veggie burger sub salad, and she had a beef burger sub salad....our friend had the deviled eggs and buffalo wings....the drinks/food was great, and the staff is excellent...we come here several times a yr, and the ambiance is fun and cozy.......thx

Food was good, had the chicken stew it lacked seasoning except tasting poultry seasoning which was a little overbearing.. Nice staff.

Their menu is unique and the food is fantastic. The prices are affordable too. The gas fire pit was warm and welcoming during our stay in December. We ate there three times during our visit, that that alone should how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommend to all visitors in Portland, especially if you are in the Alberta area.

If you are in Portland you have to visit the North East area and all the cool eateries and pubs along Alberta Street. The Radio Room was one of our faves with great food, cool vibe and a great beer selection.

We sat outdoors, where they have several areas. It was a beautiful day so a real plus! Both the Food and Service was great. They offer a diverse menu including vegetarian options. Everything was great. It is very casual. I did not go at night, however, I was told they have music ...

Went to Radio Room for the first time on the advice of a friend. I ordered the vegan hash because, well, I'm vegan. My wife and I were both disappointed. Although the portion is generous, that's where the praise ends. Oily, oily, oily. Salty, salty, salty. This dish tasted like what it was, over-fried potatoes dumped in with way, way over-cooked vegetables and then smothered in some of kind of a sauce that was beyond bland.

My husband and I were looking for a place to eat on Christmas Day. We checked a list of restaurants open that day in Portland and found Radio Room and, they were taking reservations. I checked their menu online. It seemed fine so we went ahead and made our reservations. The first part of this experience is NOT the restaurants fault. I want to point this out. What happened is that it snowed in Portland on the day before Christmas. It then rained and later it snowed again. I mention this because that's why I wound up slipping and falling hard on some black ice when we were walking from the car to the restaurant. People saw me on the ground and either just watched or walked on by. I'm in my 60's and they were in their 20's and 30's. Thanks! Eventually I found a spot that wasn't covered in ice scooted my rear end over to it and got enough traction to get up. But, by this time my knee was aching terribly and my pants were soaked with freezing cold water. I mention this at all because this might explain why all I wanted next was a nice warm place to sit and eat a nice meal. I got neither. We finally arrived and were seated. Unfortunately we were seated by the front door which was constantly opening and closing creating a very, very cold atmosphere around my table. My next surprise was that there was a special Xmas menu and none of the dishes that I thought I might order were on it. My husband just ordered bacon and eggs and I decided on the smoked game hen with polenta and broccoli. The place was understandably crowded and we had to wait a very long time until the food was served. My hen looked good, it smelled lovely so I cut it open and took a bite. To my surprise I noticed that most of the meat was still raw. I got the waiter's attention and pointed it out to him. He was very nice about taking it back to get me another one but when he returned he told me that the chef insisted that it was cooked (per a thermometer check). So, my options were to get another one or a different dish altogether. I opted for a new hen. It took a while but I finally got it, cut into that one only to discover that the 1st one I was served was more cooked than this one. You could see cooked meat and raw meat on this thing. So, finally all I ate was the polenta and the broccoli. Meanwhile my husband had his bacon, eggs, and toast. He noted that the toast was dry and was never given any butter or jam or anything to top it. The bacon and eggs were average. The waiter looked at my uneaten hen and took the price of the dish off our bill (that was nice).

Good drinks - don't be in a hurry though. Good food, and great location. They are open for breakfast but not until 9 a.m. so I would call that "open for brunch".

A lively place, clearly a favorite of locals. That said,it was loud, chilly ( the garage door was open) and the food was unremarkable. Nice people and a good vibe, but not a place we'd return to for a special dining experience.

Went for after dinner drinks and ended up staying for happy hour. Drinks were good, as was the food. Good ambiance, and lots of different types of space. Dark bar, outside terraces, regular tables etc. Service was rather slow.

We stopped here for lunch on a gorgeous Wednesday afternoon. We sat on the top deck in the sunshine and had some drinks and snacks. The Brussels sprouts and the garlic fries were awesome. We then shared the fish tacos which were tasty too. A small, nice neighborhood spot.

we came back to radio room yesterday on a rainy day with friends and sat in a booth in the bar area.....Eric was the staff person, and he has always been great for yrs....i had a rainier, so did my partner....our friends had coffee and a nojito....next i had the johnny royale impossible veggie burger, sub salad, and she had the black market hash with poached eggs and avocado....our friends had the parfait, and the biscuits and sausage....we had so much fun laughing...the food was superb, and it was so relaxing in the bar area.....thx so much....

Our entire family enjoyed our lunch at Radio Room and our server was friendly and had that cool vibe. We sat outside and enjoyed the plants & trees surrounding the patio.

Drinks are the best thing here. Do-it-yourself bloody mary bar for brunch is entertaining at the very least. Food is ok, not bad and not great. Open more often than any other place around!

You can not go wrong with a night at the Radio Room on NE Alberta. This is one of Portland finest neighborhood restaurant/bar combinations. The atmosphere is great in all seasons with nice fire during the cooler times and wide open walls during the warmer seasons. The food is great and the service is first rate with the most beautiful wait staff in the city. Neighborhood locals and people from all across Portland join together to enjoy this popular spot and there is plenty of seating so you will not have to wait for a table.

Great food in a comfortable atmosphere. Varied menu fairly priced. Seating inside on rainy days is cozy and warm.

we wanted to return to radio room on a rainy day, yesterday, for lunch, and sat at the bar...we were masked up to enter, but quickly took them off.....it was so cozy and relaxing....we each had a rainier to begin...we usually see alli, but she wasn't there, but i think i heard the bartender's name was trevor, and he was great!....next, i had the vegan royale patty, sub salad, and my partner had the breakfast tacos...we split the avocado toast which was new to us and amazing...the staff is always so nice, the vibe is cool, and the food/drink fabulous..we still enjoy looking at all the decor, the retro signs, the albums, the radios, and everything.........thx so much

Did not have coke refilled once during visit. Side salad had no flavor and burger had a mountain of salad on top of it. The gravy fries was amazing.

My husband and I have been to Radio Room several times. We are on a low carb diet so the grits were out but the server suggested to supplement with Brussels sprouts. How perfect of an idea was that. They were amazing!!!! Our bar tender was super efficient and accommodating! Love this place for the past 8 years and will be back! LS

The food is quite yummy with at least one gem on the menu. It seems everytime I go, they have changed their menu and gotten rid of what I was craving. Prices are a bit high, but the mimosas are delicious.

We stumbled upon this place on the way to another restaurant across the street. It was great. We had the halibut tacos, the grilled cheese, and the cheese burger for our son. Yummy. Worth getting off the highway for. Cool T-shirts also.

Staying locally , we were able to walk to this really easy going place. We were fortunate to stay outside on the patio , it was a clear night and they had the fire pit going . Good beers and nice food . Lovely atmosphere

I came here for the first time and I was told to go outside upstairs to their deck over Alberta Street. It was cool. Very nice evening after work and we HIT Happy Hour by chance. I ordered the fish tacos which were not great but my family ordered the burgers and those looked delicious. I did order the truffle frites and those were very good. I got 2 orders of those. I am definitely going back. Great atmosphere and good food and the staff rocked! Good service too.

We ate dinner at the Radio Room last night, frankly because not much was open in Portland on Christmas Day for dinner. The food was surprisingly good for what seems like a bar. We had the garbanzo bean appetizer, yummy but a bit on the salty side, and the squash soup, which was excellent. The grilled eggplant, for the main course was good, but not all of the pieces of the eggplant were cooked through. Anyone out there like uncooked eggplant? Not so much. The squash ravioli was delicious, especially if you like cheese - it was covered in it - almost to the point of not being able to taste the squash. Sadly, the waiter forgot our salads, which are part of the meal, but he was kind enough to give us an appetizer for free. Not sure if 3 missed salads equates to 1 appetizer. A word of warning, this place if not cheap. The ravioli was $25. I'd go back to try their breakfast/brunch, which looks intriguing! At night, it;s very noisy. You almost have to yell to be heard.

We met for brunch with friends. The food selection is wonderful, lots of gluten free options. Service is friendly and quick.

This place has the tastiest drinks, and the coziest atmosphere. The food is pretty okay, but definitely come by for the drinks and the swank booths and outdoor seating.

Accompanied my son back to college and stayed at the Caravan-Tiny House Hotel across the street... they had recommended me to try out Radio Room. Had dinner there last week. The food was good with generous servings, with me missing home a bit I had the pulled pork tostadas (closest thing to Kalua pig) with a side salad... it was definitely filling! Our waitress Lizzie was awesome... Radio Room, Lizzie is an asset to your establishment. She made us feel welcome and she was on it with our order, such amazing service! The next time we're (I'm) up there in Portland for an event and stay at the Caravan again... I'll make sure to have dinner at Radio Room too.

We were there on a Monday night in August. It was very busy, outside seating was full, but we got a booth inside. Service was quick, drink special was very good, meal was also delicious. Reasonable prices. We ended up going back the next morning for breakfast before we left town.

Sunday Brunch so worth the wait. Atmosphere is cool vibe with 60’s undertone with display of vinyl and turntables. Oh and the food and service were excellent. Suggest a mimosa with your meal too.

Loved this restaurant! They have a great enclosed patio with fire pits, which is a nice ambiance. The food is delicious. Came once for dinner and once for breakfast and was very pleased both times.

We liked this place so much we can back for breakfast. They service was spot on and their 1/2 lb. hamburger was delicious. This is a lively restaurant that supports the local art scene by prominently displaying the art all over their walls. They even have an old cigarette machine that dispenses tiny art from local artists. I thought that was pretty cool.

Thank you for an amazing experience! It was great to have a casual yet trendy spot to reconnect with friends and family. The cocktails and food were off the hook- thank you!!!

Radio Room was our choice for family dinner during the holidays. The family had mixed reviews about the food, but my Belly Blue Burger was really good - Kobe beef and orange marmalade glazed pork belly with blue cheese dressing. The interior has a comfortable feel with an attached enclosed fire pit in the front.

We were pleasantly surprised to find someplace open at 11 p.m. On a Sunday night. After 11 they offer several happy hour items. My husband had a fabulous burger and I had mac and cheese. Good Chardonnay available which I like. Friendly and great clientele.

Fun vibe with great service, bartender was super nice and helpful with drink selection. Just went for drinks, but felt very welcomed. Cool fire pit patio area.

After a busy day in Portland, we were looking for a nice relaxing bar to go for a drink. We were in the Alberta area and happened upon the Radio Room. It was Happy Hour on a weekday and not super busy. Nice selection of drinks and eats. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

Great location, prices weren't too bad, but to offer grits and they came out like oatmeal?? And we asked if they were always like that - we were told they are always dry like that :-( Maybe rethink that. Beer selection was decent, the patio looks awesome - I'd revisit in the summer months just to see how it is.

Prepare to want everything on the menu. Our waitress was amazing and helped us decide what to get. The poutine (pictured), had amazing flavors. The Johnny Royale burger was phenomenal, and the truffle fries were amazingly fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant and this is not the last time me or my friends eat there.

Woke up at 4 am, went to the airport, got on a plane from Kansas City, and flew to Portland. Took a cab into the Alberta neighborhood, stowed our luggage at the Caravan Tiny House Hotel, and spent a long, hot - but fabulous day exploring Alberta Street. In the afternoon, we finally checked into our tiny house. We spent some time enjoying our tiny house and showering, then it was time to just unwind. The teens took off to hit Salt and Straw again. My husband and I walked across the street to the Radio Room for some cocktails and appetizers to finish off our very long day. The staff look like models with full leg and sleeve tattoos, the booths are big and roomy. The cocktails were fabulous. We had a life-changing experience with the fried brussel sprouts. We both hated them as kids, came around in our 40's, but that appetizer was amazing! Spun my whole vegetable eating world on it's side! Magical ending to our first day in Portland and our first day of vacation!

This great place in the Alberta district has reasonable brews, great burgers (even the veggie option) and nice outdoor space for those rare but gorgeous sunny days.

we hadn't been to radio room since december '12, and we saw that the menu had changed. we began with a heineken and the bloody mary bar. next we shared the grilled wild salmon and alaskan halibut tacos. everything was so yummy. the seasonings were superb. the servers and staff are always friendly and informative.

we periodically dine at the radio room, and are always satisfied.there were 3 of us for lunch, and we began with a pacifico beer, a bloody mary, and the mighty lemon drop. all thirst quenching. next, i had the sonic reducer veggie burger with a balsamic vinegerette salad which was delicious. my companions had the lambretta benedict, and the classic benedict. we love the staff and ambiance.

Visited this place for Sunday brunch while travelling Portland with a friend. The environment seemed awesome, cool decor and it was busy with lots of people coming in and out. Our server was not very inviting though, and he made us feel like if we weren't from there we weren't worthwhile to talk to. The food was alright but gluten free options for me were quite limited.

Was taken here by local friends after a 2 1/2 hour wait at the overrated Pok Pok. What an interesting place! Even though I am 40 I felt like I was younger here, without judgement. The food was awesome! I ordered the grilled cheese. Just what I needed after a day on a plane. Just an overall great experience.

we returned to radio room yesterday, saturday, on a stormy day and sat at the bar for lunch...i had a tecate, and my partner had a miller high life...next we shared the avocado toast and breakfast tacos...all the food was tasty.....it was nice and warm inside, and the music was great....the staff is excellent, and we've had the bartender before....she was quick, nice, and funny, but can't recall her name...thx so much....

We had to wait a bit for brunch, but it was great. Nice service and accommodating all eaters (vegans and vegetarians).

Expected bar food but it's actually very good! Pleasantly surprised with all of our food (4 of us) Also enjoyed the decor and lively atmosphere.

we wanted to return for lunch yesterday on a cold day, and were all masked up sitting outdoors at the bonfire/table heater.....i had a rainier, and my partner had the hot toddy with apple bourbon...next i had the vegan royale veggie patty, sub salad and she had the vegan hash with two eggs over easy, adding white fish...all the food/drink were excellent....it was busy, and we found a table quickly...the staff is always nice and efficient....he had a lot to do, but is super friendly and fun...be sure to tip big during the pandemic...thx so much....

Located on Alberta Street in Portland, the restaurant has great selections and a retro bar featuring…yes radios. Quite a collection. The cafe has a southern theme to the menu. I had the shrimp sliders and they were just right for lunch. Service in the bar area was great one day and two days later, it was so slow. I think the manager/barman was too busy getting his bar set up for the evening. Food was good though.

Found this place waiting for our red eye flight home. Great find, great value, great food. Odd little place bout highly recommend.

we met some friends here last night for dinner. i had water, and my partner had the district. 2 friends had a white russioan and a riesling. we were all happy with our beverage choices. next, we had the small romaine salad with balsamic, and the salmon dish with rice and brussel sprouts....all were delicious...our friends had the mac/cheese with potato soup, and a cheesesteak with soup too...we all split the cookie/ice cream dessert. our server said he had just started working there. he was great, and efficient/friendly.

Thought about going to the Grilled Cheese truck, but Radio Room menu looked pretty good. Sat up on second level outside overlooking the courtyard they have. Nice comfort menu; we got the beet salad and the Belly Blue burger (Half pound Oregon raised Kobe grass fed blend topped with orange marmalade glazed pork belly, pickled red onion, arugula, and blue cheese dressing). It was yummy and so is the beer. Poutine at next table looked good, too. Very sweet service by Cezanne!

The food here is never anything short of fantastic, and for the location and place, it's not terribly priced. Oh yeah, they have good drinks too, and the overall ambience is dark, cozy and fantastic. They have a sort-of build-your-own mac and cheese that is insanely huge, great burgers, and their fries are always spot on, served with garlic aioli. Last night I went for the steak frites and opted for a side salad on top of that. The steak seemed much larger than I expected, well-seasoned and juicy - no need for steak sauce or anything. The only problem this place has is that it's popular, so it can be hard to find a table and the service can get slow. They sometimes will have a tented area in the front around their fire pit. There's an upstairs area that, any time I've tried to sit up there, I've been kicked back downstairs. However the servers are pretty attentive and are good at looking around, just make eye contact and someone will come by shortly. Fun story: last time I was there our server disappeared for a while with our checks. Turns out, they'd gotten a call from another bar up the street about a patron that had pulled a knife on somebody. So, our server was running the description of the person to their doorman. Luckily so, the person apparently showed up and was turned away.

While the inside bar looked very cool and a great place to hang, the ouside patio was really calling us. Outside was great, but might be too hot in the early afternoon. Hit the happy hour with a great selection of micro brews from not just the usual suspects (backwood brewing from Carson for example). Food was creative and well thought out. Had the pulled pork nacho's which had more smoke on them then I've had for a long time (nicely done on a tragger smoker). Nice size happy hour portion and a good value. Also had the calamari, which was grilled and served with arugula, avocado, Mandarin orange, and a ceaser type sauce. This worked and was a nice change from the usual, but probably wouldn't order again. Overall, the food I saw here looked great, and if your in the mood to try something different, stop in here. While you will find you classics here, there is opportunity to go beyond the everyday.

we returned for lunch yesterday during a spring storm, and the bar area was cozy as ever...ari, the bartender is excellent, friendly, and efficient... i had a rainier, and my partner had a hot toddy rum for warm up...next, we had the fried brussels sprouts, and each had the fish tacos....the food is superb, and the staff wonderful...thx so much

The Radio Room is pretty cool and the food was tasty and good. Happy with the happy hour menu and drinks!

we sat at the bar on a rainy day...i had a pacifico, and my partner had a hot toddy...i had the fish tacos and she had lox on the run and one hotcake....the bartender was especially friendly and efficient....the food is always great too....thx so much

I had a burger craving and radio room did not disappoint. I ordered a regular burger medium rare and it was the perfect amount of grill. The fries were deliciously sea salted and not overwhelming in quantity, very quality. They didn't charge me for making a slight change to my order and the busy waitress was friendly and attentive. They have a great patio for a sunny day, or a rainy day as there is a covered area with a fireplace. Highly recommended.

we had family visiting from out of town. they love how the former gas stations was converted to radio room, plus all the patios. we began with 3 lagers, and an upper deck lemonade cocktail for the 4 of us. next, i had the fish tacos, my partner had the veggie black market hash, another had apple bacon kale salad, and one other had the chicken caesar. the drinks/food were exceptional. our guests loved the former cig machine artworks for purchase. our server was the best!

Food was very good. My husband's loaded Johnny Royale burger was both tasty and filling. My shrimp sliders were good but could have a bit more sauce. We had a bit of a wait before our food was served but our server voluntarily brought us out an order of truffle fries for the excess wait. Very nice outdoor patio space for hanging out afterwards with a drink.

We came here on a business trip because of the good reviews. Our food was really good and the patio was neat. My only complaint was that the wait staff was a little slow and the restaurant was overly full of standing room only guests.

We held my brother-in-law's 50th birthday celebration at The Radio Room. They were very accommodating, had good food that was catered and ready right on time. We had a large group and 1 main server, Jess. At first I was leery about whether she could keep up with such a large party (30). Within a couple of minutes she made me realize I was worrying for nothing. Jess hustled all night filling glasses, bringing drinks, clearing the tables, etc. in fact, she was so efficient, a couple of times we had to ask her to leave something as she was clearing the table. What a great location, environment, food, experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for small, medium or large gatherings.

The Johnny Royale Burger at $11.25 is best burger I've ever eaten! It was a Really GOOD Burger! The beef patty was a kobe blead that was so tender and full of flavor that it seemed to melt in your mouth. It was topped with, white cheddar cheese, marinated tomato, red onions, a handful of arugula, which gave it that extra push over the edge for flavor, and aioli...yum! I would order this burger again in a heartbeat. The french fries that came with it were hot and crispy. Nice atmosphere that was casual laid back vibe. The waitress was sincerely friendly. They have a brunch and a kids menu but do not know what is available. The next time I'm in Portland, Radio Room will definitely be on my list of places to eat.

My wife and I were in the neighborhood and saw a recommendation on line and decided to give it a try. We were glad we did! A must try here is a Radio Room Bloody Mary-spicy and tangy. Be sure to sit upstairs on the rooftop patio. The kale, bacon and apple salad is a great dish that is truly a meal. Service is good and the crowd is friendly. We will be back soon.

Loved my pulled pork tostadas. Radio Room has a welcoming relaxed atmosphere. The service was slow, but pleasant. It felt like local community place people get together. I would definitely return.

we returned to radio room on a rainy day for brunch, and sat the bar....i had a heidelberg, and my partner had the gin special cocktail....next i had the johnny royale with the impossible patty, sub salad....she had the shaksuka dish....all the drinks/food were superb.....the dj began playing his albums, 45's, and it was excellent....his name was Paisely....the bartender, Mai Le, was exceptional and friendly too....we continue to love coming here...the vibe, music, and relaxing atmosphere was fun....thx so much...

I saw good music there once on a Tuesday, but over-all the bartenders are full of themselves and are really lame. The outside area is pretty cool. Upstairs on the outside is nice actually if you can stand who you're getting a beer from. There's nice paintings on the walls upstairs. But yea, why spend money and time in a place where the bartenders are jerks? Don't do it - wayyyy to many other good places to go in this town.

Nice place with good outdoor seating area with fire pit and heaters. Also good amount of inside seating. Good menu selection. Had the blackened salmon, It was good, a bite spicy even with the red pepper sauce not on it, as I had ask to have it put on the side. With the red sauce it would have been too spicy for me to eat, but for others it may be just fine. Food was fresh and perfect prepared.

Great food and drink.. Sip a cocktail in front of the fire pit and meet some awesome people. People are so friendly in Portland and approachable... Love it!

Evenings by the fire are really great, but brunch is mediocre. Then again, this is one of the locations at Alberta where you don't have to stand in line for more than an hour to get seated on a Sunday morning!

We just got off a long flight and went to Radio Room around lunch time. The hamburgers were big fresh tasting and had tons of good tomatoes cheese onions etc. in fact I could have chosen even more goodies but did not want to miss the yummy hamburger in all those goodies. I had a bottle of Coors and got a chance to relax as no one rushed us. I think we have to go back for the comfort. Good food and friendly service

it was a rainy cold day and we wanted a cozy spot to eat lunch yesterday, and decided to return to radio room.....we sat at the bar, and i had a rainier, and my partner had the decaf spanish coffee....next, i had the avocado toast, and she had the scando sando....danielle was our bartender and she is the best!....next, eric, came up and we visited a little..we talked about the staff there and shared good times......we've been coming to radio room since they opened....i recall it being a gas station with a fence around it, and discussed that with him....then it was transformed to radio room....both danielle and eric are great, the food, and drink were superb too...thx so much.....

I like Radio Room's patio and balcony: both make for excellent people-watching and the latter is great for catching Portland's rare spring & fall sunshine. That said, I've never quite figured out how to order while on said balcony. Friends and I either order at the bar downstairs which seems to confuse the wait staff who (occasionally?) peruse the balcony or we end up waiting a half hour for a server who, after taking the order, rarely returns.

Radio Room was a great place for brunch. Their latte was delicious. My mom and I shared the challah French toast and the radio burrito. Both were delicious and had great flavors. My aunt ordered the Brussel sprouts vegan scramble and it was SOO good. I would definitely order that one on my next visit. The service was excellent and the rooftop seating made it even more memorable.

Feels like a brew pub inside. Good selection of local beers on tap and a great menu for lunch or dinner. Happy hour has good selection.

The Radio Room is a great mid-price restaurant offering basic dishes with a few twists. We appreciated that they deliver to Caravan - The Tiny House Hotel. We had a late night and needed a quick bite.

It appears that this is a popular spot on Portland's Alberta Street for the evening crowd with a full bar, bingo, etc. Lunch is a bit different. I ordered the BLT Rex. My friend ordered the Black Market Hash. The BLT came uncut and very thick. I couldn't eat it that way and picked it apart with my fork to eat it. My friend said the hash was not particularly tasty. I don't think we'll return.

We had just arrived to the Alberta Arts district and needed to kill some time, and we saw this huge place right across the street. Loved the decor inside, a little dark and shadowy, but the booths gave it a modern-diner feel. The food options on the menu were vast, and I loved seeing some classic brunch options, along with some newer, more trendy options. I vouched for an omelette that had brusselsprouts in it, which was incredible! We didn't know that the place was a family restaurant, so it was a little louder than anticipated. It took a while for our server to come back to our table once we finished eating as were waiting for the bill, but nonetheless is was a good experience.

It was starting to rain as we walked down Alberta Street, so we ducked into the first restaurant we came to, and were very glad we did. The wait staff was fun, friendly, and helpful, the menu eclectic, and the food wonderful. We had a great brunch. The play list was an awesome accompaniment. We liked it so much we came back again later in the week. There are lots of choices of places to sit -- outside there's a fire pit, where you can bring your dog, upstairs you can sit outside, inside is more cozy and dark, or there's a bar. The art was also amazing! Can't wait to get back.

This slightly-out-of-the-way place in Northeast Portland caught my fancy a few years ago and I have been back several times. I like the free internet, the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, the quiet atmosphere and the fact that the wait staff remembers me even after a hiatus of several months between visits. The food and beer are good too, and the menu always has what I'm looking for. What's not to like in a restaurant carved out of an old automobile repair shop?

Excellent food. Great Customer service. Dog- friendly and heated patio. Lunch/ brunch menu was yummy. Truffle fries were the hit of the table.

I have been here a few times. Being an Alberta Street fan. Good quirky menu and friendly surroundings.

Good food, good atmosphere -- they serve breakfast and have wifi, which is great if you're traveling! For late night, there's a fire pit and a roof deck- super fun!

we came back for both thanksgiving and xmas meals for lunch....i had a rainier, and my partner had the spanish decaf coffee...we shared the stuffed deviled eggs with crab, the grilled cheese sandwich, and brocollini....she had the surf/turf....the bartenders are the best, and the food is great..thx

we love coming to radio room for lunch....rainier beer, fish tacos, buddha bowl....we sit at the bar, watch the seahawks, and eat some veggie food....terra, the bartender, is fabulous, and the new bartender is very friendly too...thx so much....

North Portland gem! My daughter and I went on a recent excursion to Portland. The atmosphere is casual, laid back and fun. Cozy little spots to sit indoors or out, plus a rooftop deck. We had a couple of ciders, house made hummus, aioli fries, and split a delicious burger. Our server was friendly but not overly pesky and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Come as you our and enjoy something unique in PDX!

This place has a cool 50’s style to it, a nice fire pit area and an upstairs patio where you can bring your furry friend along with you. Good cocktails and a well priced food menu-unless you come in on Christmas, expect a long line and high prices for what you get. any other day, this is a hip place to get a good meal for a good price or just a couple drinks with friends.

More chill than most places, but still with great music, delicious food, and phenomenal drinks. Had vegetarian poutine (do not order expecting anything similar to real poutine), and tried some of a friend's banh mi, and was impressed by both. Every drink we tried was a winner, with a great combination of flavors. Prices were on par with other local places.

I was in a beer mood, but I will be sure to come back and try the awesome cocktails. The bartender was super chill and informative. I really like the vibe there. Haven't tried any food yet.

went with a group for early saturday dinner and drinks. no problem getting table with space in the main room there are lots of spaces atop, in front outside, inside center, inside east, etc. but a popular place as saturday evening went on. drinks - plenty of beers and some wines. I had a Regular Bill- a refreshing vodka, citrus, mint, cranberry cocktail that i would be happy to have right about now. friend had Minsky's Manhattan that has a couple bitters and 94 proof Craig bourbon to knock you out. brunch is searched most of the time day and night, but we went with regular menu. Radio Cakes shaped like big stars out of polenta were outstanding. pickle plate had a kick with the asparagus really pickled well. mains were fried chicken, fish tacos, steak frites & apple bacon kale salad. All were happy, all were large servings at reasonable prices. salad's bacon lardons were most excellent. no room for dessert. parking is in the neighborhood so expect to drive around and around a couple times. be polite and don't block driveways and crosswalks.... not low cost mean, but lower than most mid-range places.

Atmosphere is sort of a bar/restaurant which gives it a casual feeling. It had some record labels on the wall They offer a happy hour menu which is pretty much the same food but less costs. For example the Kobe burger was the same but just omitted the fries. They offer an interesting fried Brussels sprout appetizer

Went here with some friends after taking in the zoo lights. We sat next to the outdoor/ indoor fireplace. Cool atmosphere! I had the Cuban Sammy, and it was very good. All of our drinks were tasty as well. They had a large beer list, and lots of cocktails to choose from. They do have gluten free options, but if you are a celiac, be careful, our waitress didn't really know what gluten was, and instead of going back to the kitchen to ask a couple of questions for us, she kind of made some stuff up. At the end of the day, my wife who has to eat gluten free got a salad, and she was fine, just be careful while ordering, they do not use a dedicated gf fryer.

I've been here a few times, and it always is a good time. The outdoor seating is especially nice during the warmer months. Very easy to just hang out, have some drinks, and have fun with friends. Good beer selection and good service.

we returned to radio room during covid 19 re-opening phase 1 for lunch, as they have been closed since march....masked up, we chose the rooftop, as it's now non -smoking....we saw Alli, who is still the bartender, yay!..we ordered and sat at the rooftop patio...the view is superb and safely spaced...all the staff is masked up and the interior has changed due to covid 19...miss the old radios, but understand, and saw an old projector....i had a rainier, and my partner had the whisky sour...we shared stuffed crab in avocado with coleslaw...delicious...next we shared the crispy trout with bibb lettuce..also delicious..we are happy radio room is open...tip big during these challenging times...

during the snowstorm, we walked over to return to radio room for an early lunch yesterday, saturday, and knew they would be open....we sat at the bar and ordered in a cozy and warm environment....i had a rainier, and my partner had a hot toddy make with house made apple bourbon....next, i ordered the vegan royale, sub salad, and she had the breakfast tacos with avocado....the place was busy and a fire was in the pit outside.....the bartender was so nice, we've had her before, and we chatted about the snow.....the drink/food was excellent and we are grateful radio room was open during this snowstorm...thx!

we've been coming to radio room since they opened yrs ago, and ate outdoors there all during covid...masked up, yesterday, sunday, we wanted to eat indoors finally, and sat at the bar for lunch...it was so exciting to be inside during a cold and rainy/windy day..we finally took our masks off, and it felt strange......i had a rainier, and my partner had the decaf spanish coffee...next, i ordered the vegan royale, sub salad, and she had the breakfast tacos with a home made bisquit, and macaroons ..the drinks and food were wonderful....we just relaxed, listened to the music, and people-watched.....it's pure comfort at radio room....alli, the bartender, is the best!....it's so nice to see familiar staff indoors and just take it all in...be sure to tip big during the pandemic...thx so much..

Way over on Alberta s there are not many tourists. It was snowy and sparsely populated. We had beers from their very limited selection of taps. Also the pulled pork tostado, a hamburger, a Cuban sandwich with very little meat. The service was excellent. I liked the big old booths. It is located cater-corner from the Alberta Hall (?) so would be hopping pre and post-shows, I would imagine.

we returned today for brunch and sat outside all masked up and physically distanced....i had a rainier, and my partner had a twist on a pina colada with sqush infusion...i had the frittata, and she had the smoked fish hash......the tent is very open aired....the staff is always so nice....the drinks and food superb...thx again for the snow/ice melting finally brunch..be sure to tip big!!!

Radio Room is one of those places I find myself going back to out of sheer comfort. The food is always filling, the service is perfect-not over friendly, but not rude- and there is plenty of seating all over the building. Whether you are out solo or with friends, I recommend checking it out. Drink a Tom Waits while you peruse the menu. Vegan to Carnivore and Gluten friendly.

What a fun place! We arrived early (6ish) on a Thursday night and would not have waited at all except my husband had to go back to the car for his mask (masks available for $2 at door). We sat at an upstairs balcony table and got our drinks immediately and ordered the buddha bowl and veggie burger and fries. Food was so creative, wonderful sauces and the layering of the buddha bowl flavors and textures was inspired. Thank you so much.

I'll be honest, if it weren't for the poutine I would give this place 3 stars but it's so good it bumps it up a whole star. The rest of the food is so so. Not bad but just not spectacular. I've been twice and the first time the wait wasn't too bad but the last time we were waiting for an extremely long time for our food and some of it was messed up even then. So that was a bit disappointing. That poutine though.... whew. I would go back just for a bowl of that deliciousness.

This is one of the best patios in Portland. You can choose between the sitting by the fire or the second floor with a view. The drink menu was large with both alcoholic and coffee/tea selections. The food menu looked amazing but we were too full to enjoy it. My friend did get a cup of the tomato soup and said it was "pretty darn good". I'm surprised that Portland doesn't stay out later when they have all of these great bars.
Great Brunch Food
My wife and I really enjoyed the brunch food and the mimosas. The veggie sausage was excellent, and the service was good. Smart menu options that were very appealing. Nice ambiance. Cool art all over the place, and a cool vending machine for art. Good food, reasonable price. We will certainly be returning.
