Good food good service

Second times a charm. I dined here a month ago with some colleagues from the Maritime industry. Food and service was amazing. Tonight, my friend and I had a quick dinner at the bar. Once again the food was great. Service met expectations. Nice dining room. Despite being packed, plenty of room to move around.

Portions Enormous - Come Very Hungry Or Split Dishes With A Friend

By Frank M |

My date and I weren't that hungry so we decided to split a salad and an entree. The Salmon salad (Insalata Al Salmone) was terrific and even a 1/2 portion each was plenty. Our shared entree - Pollo Alla Zia Teresa (Chicken breast sauteed in sherry wine, mushrooms, shrimp & herbs) - was done just right and included veggies and potatoes. Included was roasted peppers served when we were seated, minestrone soup, bread, and complimentary spumoni was offered. All for an amazing price. Service was attentive and friendly.

Good italian eats

We did not have a reservation and the matre' d did a good job to accomodate us. Large portions and not overly priced-California is high priced no matter where you go.

Great Italian Cuisine!

By Craig K |

This place is fresh and clean. The service was spectacular. You get great free starters and a salad comes with your meal. The food was very authentic to what I experienced living in Italy for 2 years. This place is a must visit.

Pleasant surprise....

By Aaron H |

We stopped by this place with little knowledge of what to expect and were pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of food. The portions are large and the tasty. I'd definitely stop by here again if I were in the neighborhood.

Fabulous!

By turbotravelers |

This is the second time we have been in San Pedro the last couple of years and we made it a point to return to Raffaello. The cuisine is just delicious! Victor, our waiter was perfection, very efficient and personable. The lasagna was just like my grandmother made with béchamel sauce and the penne with shrimp and pink sauce just as good. The atmosphere is just perfect and this family run business will always be our go to when we are in San Pedro! Grazie!

Busy and very italian

Special Dinner

By bigfinklefan |

My wife and I came here, for the first time, to celebrate our anniversary. We sure are glad we did! What a terrific experience… Complimentary bread, sautéed bell peppers, bruschetta, and salad. What?! What other restaurant does that? So generous. The service was friendly and fast. The ambiance is classy, homey, and clean. The food is delicious. I have a feeling that everything on the menu tastes good. We’ll definitely be recommending Raffaello to friends and family.

Family

By Greta P |

This restaurant has a certain charm - old school charm. The owner and all the staff really care that you are not only enjoying your meal but your experience. The service is always on point. The food is solid and the prices are fair (meals come with an appetizer (marinated peppers and warm bread), soup or salad, a side of pasta, main course and a scoop of spumoni. I enjoy going here for the atmosphere of care from the staff.

Delicious

By GiveUpNamesTaken |

This is my go to restaurant when in Hollywood. The food is fantastic and reasonable price. The wait staff are not chatty but that's ok I am there to eat. Serving size very generous. The decor is a little dated but that is what I love about it also history on the walls and tables. Worth a visit great food

A taste of the Old Country

By Rob P |

A family run restaurant that puts service above everything except the food. Once seated, you are given a large plate of fresh roasted vegetables and sliced bread. The menu is extensive and requires a few visits to real get a feel for the great food coming out of this kitchen. Our first time here, I highly recommend this place. Great service, awesome old school atmosphere with the traditional celebrity photos inside the front door...

So good we visited three times in 3,days

By Joytrip55 |

I can only give this restaurant a score of 5 out of 5. Family run , excellent extensive menu and very good value for money. If you are in San Pedro you must visit. We loved the atmosphere and the staff were amazing especially the son of one of the owners , Alessamdro. A real local gem.

Amazing Italian restaurant

By Judy |

This charming Italian restaurant felt like I was eating with family. All the staff was friendly and welcoming and they all work together seamlessly. They visited our table frequently making sure we had everything we needed and graciously brought all the courses to our table. They bring bread and bruschetta along with roasted peppers to your table shortly after you arrive. I rarely see so many amazing waitstaff working quickly and happily serving the customers. It’s a delicious experience and I will remember this dining experience for years to come

A great family run business

The food is delicious and the owners are very generous in serving bread, bruschetta , and roasted yellow peppers before dinner. The service was fantastic. Truly enjoyed our time in this simple but awesome restaurant

Authentic, family run Italian restaurant

By Gunner M |

Treated like a special family member. Generous complimentary antipasto on table with peppers and bread, foid was served hot and delicious, accomodated every request. Food needed no extra spices or flavors, dessert was awesome and homemade. Gino and his brother were so very gracious and greeted everyone. They also helped with every position in the restaurant. I used to run awatd winning Italian restaurants, and this was as good as it gets. Great wine list. Knowledgeable about wines and pairing.

Pre-cruise recommendation

By pbrn55 |

We stayed at the Best Western about 6 blocks away and decided on dinner here based on recommendations from this site. After an easy downhill walk we arrived a little after 5:00 (which was 7:00 according to our Midwest internal clocks). There was only one waiter at the time (Miguel) who was running his butt off with about 6 tables seated. After a slow start the place filled up with patrons and employees and when we left an hour and a half later we were very satisfied with our bellies full after a great meal. They threw in an after dinner tiramisu (which was the best ever) because of the slow service at the beginning. By the time we departed there were people waiting for a table and the servers were singing (literally)! The walk from the hotel seemed a little sketchy with a lot of homeless on the main streets but the side streets are mostly working class single family homes. The exterior of the restaurant is very plain and the interior could definitely use freshening/updating but the food and servers (though not necessarily the service) made up for the appearance.

Great place for an event

By Gary P |

Went here for an event for about 100 people. We had a private room and it was served buffet style Food was great Salad was fresh roasted peppers very flavorful. The Two pasta dishes were cooked just right They Ali’s had chicken that was sautéed to perfection This was a lunch event so they just had cookies for dessert and the were good as well. This place has been here for thirty some years and you can tell why, everything is great

A pretty common Italian restaurant

By Matthew M |

I totally don't understand why this restaurant gets a 4.5 stars rating with 873 reviews on Yelp. Food flavor is so so, not very delicious. Food quality is average. Food quantity is big. Not to mention the salad and bread that comes with it. I won't go back since there is so many other options available. I didn't mean it's bad. It's just not that good.

An amazing meal, an amazing atmosphere, an amazing experience

By CDJDorset_UK |

This restaurant is that hidden gem you’ve been looking for. We’d traveled from the UK and saw this in Tripadvisor, #2 restaurant in LA, and as it’s 30 miles from central LA, we thought it was worth a visit. We were not disappointed, We went twice and although the second visit wasn’t as good as the first, our first experience was exceptional. We’re glad we booked as there were queues out of the door. The restaurant is a family run Italian, we were greeted by Dad, the owner, we were served by his son, Alexandro, and many other family members clearly worked there. The atmosphere was amazing, a real buzz without being too noisy. We were given a plate of bruschetta and roasted peppers to nibble on whilst we ordered, beautiful. Each Entree is served with a soup or salad and the Entrées were huge, too much for any one with a normal appetite ( we shared an Entrée on our second visit). We had the Fettuccine with Salmon, Shrimps and Calamari served in a creamy tomato sauce, it was totally devine. Our waiter, Alexandro was impeccable, so charming and polite, he can serve at our table anytime. Overall 10 out of 10, 5 stars, 100%.

This place is worth finding!

By Joshua I |

Everything is amazing here! They serve roasted red peppers and brushetta. Every meal comes with a large salad. The sangria is so good. A truly outstanding Italian dining experience.

Nice Italian food and lots of extras.

By CalifSue |

Here with an extended family of 20. We had a reservation and all went well. Food just kept coming out. They have a regular menu and the family style menu that we ordered from. We had trouble fitting all the food on our table. Restaurant was packed. We enjoyed our dinner. Calamari, Meatballs, Bruschetta, Salad, Tiramisu, etc. all very good. .

Excellent

By ajd357 |

Fantastic Meal. We had been in Las Vegas for 4 days where the food offerings were either completely off the scale in price or rubbish at the other end! We had seen this establishment and decided that’s where we would go. Lucky we did. It was wonderful. Busy which is usually a good sign. Service was excellent. All staff were great and couldn’t do enough for you. The wine was great a lovely Antinori, which went with the complimentary bread, salad and mixed peppers. No need for a starter! My wife had the king prawns in a spicy sauce which she loved, which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli and carrots. I had a huge portion of Osso Buco , which was melt in the mouth and full of flavour, again with mashed potato and veg. Fantastic. We had complimentary ice cream as a dessert was out of the question due to the volume of food presented. Total bill $118 which was great value. Excellent meal at a fantastic restaurant.

OUTSTANDING ITALIAN FOOD AND STAFF, A+ SAY TRIPADVISOR TOP 1%

By RiTCHIE H |

A Truly Outstanding Italian dining Experience at this place. Can not believe it has been here for so many years, and I Missed it ! The Inside is Large and cozy, also has Wine Bar. 2 Large Dining areas. It Starts with the Owners and Staff here, they make you feel so Welcome, like part of the Family, the customers are the same way. We went for Lunch, Great Pricing, They start you off with a Huge basket of Hot Bread, it was very good. Next a Large Salad with wonderful dressing. My Chicken Parm was real large and with great Flavor, one of the best I have had at any Italian place, out of many. If you order Pasta, orders are Large, a bowl of pasta with my Parm, and it was Lunch for the next day. I saw an order of the Calamari go by, Wow, I wish we had ordered some. My Friend had his Pasta the Old School way, Oil and another combo, and said it was Right On. BY FAR THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN THIS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA !!! SAY TRIPADVISOR TOP 1% NO Doubt. Dont miss this Place. Thanks Rick

Best of the best!

By Henrydinh |

This restaurant is really in San Pedro, CA. When a friend wanted to take us here, we really didn't have high hopes of anything good. Wow! Were we wrong. Service was excellent; prices were quite good. We had the Eggplant, and the Veal Cannelloni Excellent!! And to top it off we had a gelato parfait of lemon gelato swirled with Limoncello. Amazing!!! We can't wait to go back. Also loved the Frank Sinatra music playing in the back group.

Fantastic Value for Money

By Shannon Ritchie |

Food is great. Staff are extremely generous and quick to refill drinks, give complementary bread and salads etc. Was our cheapest meal of the trip yet by far the best.

well deserved 5 stars

By AMO |

The entire experience was great from the food to the service to the taste. It is hard to find in LA quality and pricing that are ok. Pasta was good and the main courses were really good too.

Fantastic Cuisine and Outstanding Service

By Michael P |

This highly rated ristorante certainly lived up to it's rating!! The food was truly special and the service outstanding. The Italian cuisine is among the best anywhere and cannot be overlooked if you are ever in San Pedro. This is a must dining experience!!

Just Like Momma's

By TGDino |

Ritornare qui, di volta in volta, perché è abbondante, delizioso, cibi preferiti della famiglia. Raffaelo's is like dining in Italy but without the airfare and more importantly, at a family's table. It is Delicious, thoughtfully prepared, large-portioned, feel-good food. And it's authentically Italian! The home roasted red-peppers & thick-crusted bread are a staple brought to each table. The accompanying salad - served in a house vinegar dressing only - is tasty and leaves a taste-for-wanting-more. The pizza is perfect. Their family recipe of cannelloni - a gastronomic goody. It is a concept of rolling a sheet of pasta (think crepe-like or in Italian, crespellà) into a tube, stuffing it, and pouring a fresh tomato-sauce over it, and baking it (I always opt for no melted cheese). It is remarkably simple and yet, so simply wonderful. The penne arrabbiata, is a favorite of mine. Period. Add their tender chunks of chicken and Momma Mia. Any special here, especially involving salmon is a gift from Poseidon. Save room for their house special spumoni - it makes gelato taste like jell-o and the whippiest of cappuccinos. Bene! The beautiful family, with service as familiar as a family, is doting, welcoming, and provide courteous care. Prices are very reasonable for the amount & quality of food. It's a home kept secret that San Pedro's Italian-Americans keep close to their hearts and palates.

Great Italian food

By elizabethlascheid |

We love the Italian food at Raffaello's. There are many wonderful Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. This is one of them. The service is divine, everyone is so friendly and caring. They know the menu well and can make excellent wine selections for you. What I really love about this place is the fantastic bread they give you and you also get a lovely little dessert. The menu is extensive and you will find there is something for everyone. A vegan can find a nice meal as can a vegetarian. All of their pastas are fantastic and you absolutely must try one of their fish dishes. You love this place. Have a great time.

Giant portions

By Alec K |

The food here is not the best of the Italian places I've visited, but it's solid. Portions are large to have the leftovers for lunch the next day, service is top notch, very friendly staff n the ambiance feels like a big family gathering. Not in the best part of town..... but give it a shot.

Satisfying and Good Value

By Frank M |

This family run Italian is famous for serving plenty of food with all courses included in the price of the meal. You will NOT go away hungry. Smart patrons should think about splitting entrees since you get so much food. Always make a reservation because they fill up fast. Very convenient to the Warner theatre and downtown San Pedro shopping.

A great finf

By ExperiencedTravelers |

Looking off the street you wonder what kind of place you have found. Once you walk inside, it is very inviting. The menu is decent, and not overwhelming. Every entree comes with an appetizer, salad and spumoni ice cream . The portions are fairly large, and the service is extraordinary. The other patrons seem like they are primarily regulars. When in the area this restaurant is well worth the visit. This is our second time there, and we do not know of another in the area that is better.

The Best in San Pedro

By PJBrewer |

I always come here when visiting San Pedro. The grilled peppers and bruschetta (free with meal) come first. The calamari (appetizer) is lightly battered and tender. The seafood pasta is plentiful and delicious! The desert...I am always too full. A family atmosphere with friendly staff.

Great, traditional Italian food

Great, traditional Italian restaurant. Excellent traditional food, large portions, great service. Enjoy a great fun meal the night before you get on your cruise ship!

COOL

By Zhoshua E |

The most welcoming, Italian eatery with a warm family feel to it restaurant I've come across anywhere other than a "Little Italy" district out in New York. I've heard of this place as all the locals know of it. Heard nothing but great things about the family thats owned this establishment for half a century, to the restaurant itself (decor, environment, location, comfortable spacious, etc). You really do get a feeling that you're eating amongst family here. The ONLY set back and its only my personal opinion or preference is that most all of the entrees in my large order all seemed to be just a tad bit more on the bland side than what i would've ever guessed. That caught me by surprise. Food was good for the most part but I was expecting more rich flavor from each dish. Still good and a lovely selection. Great desserts also. I would request for an olive oil with fresh cracked pepper to be served in addition instead of just a few small butter pats with the bread.

European Sideway Dining

By Suzanne W |

Raffeallos is now offering European Style sidewalk dining at their second location, Michael’s Tuscany Room in the heart of San Pedro. 470 West Seventh Street, San Pedro. Beautiful location, wonderful owners and staff, and the best Italian food in the South Bay.

Great dining spot before cruise

By jeffwhitey |

Great atmosphere. Big portions. Awesome service, Kelly is amazing! Great bruschetta. Lovely salad. Attentive staff.

Fantastic Italian food at reasonable prices.

By elizabethlascheid |

This Italian restaurant is fantastic. The portions are huge and each bite is delicious. the prices are so reasonable here you would think the portions would be smaller or the food not so good, but you are in for a shock. Everything here is wonderful. They have a fantastic calamari and their spaghetti with marinara sauce and bacon is out of this world. your meal comes with bread and even a great ice cream dessert. The service is fast and super friendly. the server's know their menu well and can guide you. you'll love this place you'll want to come back again and again. have a great time.

Absolutely amazing restaurant. Visited tonight. Amazing staff , amazing food , so welcoming and friendly. Food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. Large portions for those with appetites. Complimentary ice cream deserts even though we were sooo full. Can totally recommend. One more day here and may well return for more. Wonderful ❤️

Quantity OVER quality.... nope.

By raevyn007 |

This place as really good reviews online. However, it does not score very high for me. Menu was dirty (food stuck inside it). It was stained and nasty. Service: This was good. They were friendly and attentive for the most part. Decor: Its dated and kinda dingy looking inside. Food: Well, there are some issues. They will give you a LOT of it. Portions are HUGE and theres bread and peppers and pizza that comes out... I prefer quality over quantity however. The bread was stale and basically tasteless. The spaghetti carbanara was this really greasy dish that had cream in it. Carbanara does NOT have cream in it. The sauce is made from raw egg that cooks on the pasta. They didn't even attempt to get it right. The spaghetti bolonegse had meatballs that had little taste and the texture wasn't very good. Value: Well, you get a LOT of food for not such a high price for the area. I would have preferred quality at a higher price with less food, than quantity at a lower quality. Its a miss to me, and I won't be back.

have dinner with my family

Very good Italian Food!

By ScotAlberta |

Nice Italian restaurant near the LA World Cruise port. We arrived in San Pedro a day early for our cruise and were looking for something within walking distance of the motel. Lots of Mexican/Salvadorean/fast food restaurants in the area but was looking for something sit down and somewhat...good. Found this online and booked immediately. What a great choice. Service was attentive and fast. Server was very good and friendly - wish I knew his name? Food came out quickly and was very good - started with an appetizer plate (was included) and bread. WE both ordered pasta - Capellini with tomato sauce and a carbonara for me - always in search of the best carbonara. Asked the server if it was good and he said if didn't think it was one of the best I could eat and it would be complementary! I paid for it - very good!! Servings are huge and starter salad was included. We did not finish either of our meals. Only draw back was the noise - very loud - not much on the brick and concrete wall and everyone talked loud to compensate. A great experience - and I recommend the carbonara.

Promoted!

By Manu |

Excellent choice of first courses. Well-groomed appearance. Not eating pasta in the evening we opted for lamb ribs. Really good! Very courteous staff. It's a popular place so at rush hour it can be a little noisy. For this reason I would not suggest it for a romantic evening. However, it's good if you want to chat over a good dish. I advise! P.s. bring a sweatshirt. Sustained air conditioning.

Been here a few times

I love this place!!! The food is so delicious, all ingredients are super fresh and the service is great. I highly recommend this restaurant. Parking can be tricky, their parking lot is very small, but the food is worth the parking hassle.

Traveled to San Pedro to start a cruise. Had dinner at Raffaello's and was very pleased with the menu , service and food. I recommended to others in our group and they went there the next day and also raved about the food & service. HIGHLY recommend.

Nice tomato sauce!

By NoraExplorer |

We came to this restaurant just to try some Italian dishes in San Pedro. We found a parking space right in front of the restaurant, by luck, because to be honest, it would have been harder to find a parking space around this area. The moment we walked in, we felt like we're invited to a nice Italian family home. Lucky that I made a reservation, so we got a table right away. We were seated at a corner table by the window, which was nice but these windows are closed tight, no one could peek inside. The restaurant gave you bruschetta on the house and this one comes with some sweet pepper, oil, and vinegar. Incredible intro! After the intro, we thought they forgot about us because it took them a while to come back and ask for our order. Then I ordered my seafood pasta and Hubby ordered calamari and shrimp appetizer that comes in a delicious red sauce plus an order of meatballs. The seafood pasta would have been better without the fish because when the fish mixing with seafood, it was more like having spaghetti in a fish broth because fish takes away the seafood flavor. I believe they're two types of fish in there, salmon and mahi-mahi. I would prefer just the seafood but I'm sure they mix them for a reason (customers liking or signature dish). I personally found my plate to be on a fishy smell and taste. Everything else that I tried was successfully flavored and prepared by the Chef and kitchen staff. The red sauce for appetizers was pretty awesome. In fact, I used some of that for my seafood pasta to bring the tomato sauce flavor into my seafood dish. Right after we placed an order, the staff kept coming to us to make sure we enjoy our meals. We definitely liked being here, a nice and cozy restaurant, plus a very good service!

Great Italian food

Wonderful spot for dinner. We come every time we are in San Pedro. Food is excellent. I really like the cioppino and the veal scallopine. Service is great! Just wish we lived closer!

Great Sausage Antipasto, excellent service

By HeyGordo |

We walked here from the Warner Theater thinking we could just walk in at 5 pm on a Saturday night. The Maitre D said they were booked full so we turned around and started walking to another place when one of the waiters dashed after us and said they'd had a cancellation and we could be seated. We got a table right by the entrance (lots of traffic) but the marinated bell peppers and bread that arrived right away made us feel wanted. We ordered Lobster Ravioli (wife liked it, I'm not a seafood guy) and the daily special Veal Cannelloni, which was excellent. They both came with salads, but the surprise hit was the Sausage antipasto - probably the best Italian sausage I've eaten!. The only downside was it filled me up enough that I couldn't finish my Veal, but that's OK, I brought it home and it'll be a nice lunch tomorrow. Service was attentive and on the ball throughout the meal, and I'll be back whenever I get near the neighborhood. Reservations next time!

Nice Surprise

By Deborah F |

Our Hotel, the Best Western in San Pedro recommended this restaurant to us. We were able to walk over and the area is a little rough looking but this is a wonderful restaurant. The service excellent the food was great. My husband and I each ordered the grilled tuna and it was cooked to perfection. Our meal was huge and all very good. Fresh, delicious bread and butter, bruchetta, roasted peppers, fresh green salad and a plate of pasta all included with our entre. This is a family owned and operated place and everyone we encountered welcomed us warmly and made sure we were served well quickly. We'll be back the next time we're in the area.

Outstanding

By Craig N |

A delightful experience. We're here in San Pedro for a princess cruise to Mexico and this restaurant came highly recommended by the hotel. We were not disappointed. The food was outstanding and wait staff really bustled to meet our needs. She had the penne pesto pasta with chicken and I had the veal piccata. Both came with salads and spumoni ice cream . Both cooked to perfection. The bruschetta and roasted red pepper appetizers were phenomenal too. We cannot recommend this restaurant moe highly.

Stay away unless you are REALLY HUNGRY

By Ron Y |

It is hard to believe how much food they serve.. The table if full of bread, bruschetta and peppers before you can blink. Even with sharing 1/2 of a meal it came with a large salad. Fortunately the bottle of Chianti classico riserva helped us make it through the meal.

What a pleasure to go to a restaurant for the first time and be totally blown away by the service and the food. Having been to Italy many times, it was just like eating in the old country. From the first greeting to finish nothing but a total delight.

Old fashioned but excellent italian restaurant

By jazz562 |

Classical menu of southern italian cuisine. Fresh ingredients, friendly and efficient service, and reasonable prices. Extensive menu with excellent fish and many veal and chicken dishes, as well as excellent pasta. particularly love the dover sole, cioppino, veal marsala. Salads included with dinner as well as pasta with red sauce or oil and garlic. Portions generous, and gret for big groups.

Pre cruise dinner

By lorielex |

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel Best Western San Pedro. Was walking distance from the hotel. We were greeted at the door by wonderful smells and seated right away. Had a delicious dinner and will return next time we are in the area

Same great food at a different location.

By Sailing_Sweetie |

I have not been here since they moved. 7th st down town San Pedro is a much better location. The restaurant is contemporary looking. A 12 person bar is in the next room. Since I was solo I sat at the bar. It is 2:30 pm and a 1/3 of the room is occupied. It was loud due to the high ceilings. The service is still great and the same fab food. I ordered something different. The sausage and veggies and a glass of wine. My usual is shrimp in pink vodka sauce or Osso Bucco....yum!

great place in the heart of San Pedro

By fozjon |

this is a great place. It's in the center of San Pedro with parking across the street. The place is spacious and attractive. There is an authentic Italian clientele (and staff). Our waiter was very good; friendly and helpful. Servings were HUGE (really could have very easily shared the plate between two or three people). Prices were normal...but we can get many extra meals out of what we took home. I wanted Italian sausage...and, sadly, the sausage wasn't what I had hoped for, but, nonetheless, it was a good dish.

Rave Reviews for Raffaello!

By Linda0212 |

If you're looking for "authentic" Italian cuisine then look no further than Raffaello Ristorante. This is by far the best Italian restaurant we have encountered while traveling. The food is a plentiful, seasoned very well, and priced reasonably. It was a great dining experience and deserves 5 stars.

When you are indecisive where to go for dinner

On any night of the week head out to Raffaello’s you will not be disappointed. The food is good and consistent, the service on cue and they always try to make you feel welcome and at home, well after 3 visits you are family. Yes it can be aloud at times, but hey its and Italian restaurant………great selection of pasta, meat dishes, and a decent wine list and their home made tiramisu, take your dinner to go and have dessert……………….. Mangiare!!!!!!

Delicious food and great service!

By Joanie322 |

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. It has a very unassuming exterior with a warm, bustling interior. We were greated and seated immediately although we had no reservations. The food was delicious and came in very large portions, share a plate or be prepared to take home leftovers. The servers were warm and attentive - I have never seen waitstaff work so quickly. Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had! We will definitely be back!

Legit Italian food

By caddyrossum |

The food was absolutely fantastic and very Italian! They also offer you appetizers and a salad before your meal. The place is very charming and cozy. The only problem is the parking lot in the back, which is a little sketchy. Everybody who works there seems to be Italian (which it makes it even cooler!) and they’re always concerned to know if you’re good or if you need anything. The owner is also super friendly and nice. Really hope to go back there again someday!

it was good but not as good as prepandemic.

once they get to full staff this will again rise to be a very good restaurant, but for now it is just good.

Authentic Italian Food

By iieonylasso |

I have visited Raffaello Ristorante a few times. The food was delicious and it was recommended to me by an Italian friend. It is a family restaurant where the Italian community goes... The place is used for multiple celebrations, including baby showers, birthdays, etc.

True Italian flavors and dishes in a welcoming setting

By WFLAZ |

It was late on a Saturday evening, and 5 of us decided to go to dinner somewhere we hadn’t been. We looked up Trip Advisor for restaurants in San Pedro, and Ruffaello was the Number 1 entry on their list, and for well deserved rating. The place was packed and the dining rooms are large and noisy but in a good kind of large family gathering way. I had called ahead and asked about a wait time for 5 and they said the could get us set in about 10 min and when we arrived, we just had to wait for the table to be cleared and cleaned. Service was excellent even though the place was crowded. They immediately brought us Bruschetta, Italian Peppers, Bread and butter, the Bruschetta was excellent with tomatoes that tested fresh from the vine. While we consumed these delights it gave us a chance to order from the menu. We ordered Fried Calamari as an appetizer because as we walked to the restaurant, 3 different couples we passed who were just leaving, said it was the best they had had. We ordered Veal Piccata, Lobster Ravioli, Eggplant Parmesan, Penne Rustica with Shrimp and Sausage, and Linguini with Clams and Mussels. All the dinners came with a salad and the serving sizes were large. With the exception of the Lobster Ravioli we all had enough for a leftover meal at home. The house Chianti was delicious as well. Universally we all talked about how delicious or own plate was which led to sharing bits across the table. The Lobster Ravioli was the best we have had. The pasta wasn’t gummy like many are, there was good portion of lobster in the stuffing, and the sauce was delicate and not overbearing. It was had to select the best dish we ordered as they were all excellent. We all agreed that it reminded us of the dinners we had in Italy especially in Sorrento. If you are looking for a romantic night out with great food, this is not a place to go. But if you want an authentic family style Italian Restaurant, you won’t find much better than Raffaello

Fantastic Italian Restaurant Near Port of Los Angles

By JSCESQ |

For those stopping in the Port of Los Angles on a cruise, or, for those visiting San Pedro, California, this restaurant is a must.As a third generation Italian/American, the food here is just like my Nona used to make. Service was top flight, portions are very generous, as are the bar pours. Highly recommended stop on your trip.

Solo dinner two nights in a row!!

By ATLhoyas |

Highly recommend for their great service, warm and definitely not modern atmosphere, and generous portions of delicious food. Went back 2 nights in a row because the Osso Bucco Special I had the first night was so amazing I knew I must return. All the bruschetta, salads, side pastas are included and the house Chianti quite reasonable. All of this plus a staff and owner who loves to make their guests happy makes for a really enjoyable dinner. I'll go out of my way to visit this charming corner of LA to enjoy the area and dine at Raffaello any chance I can get. Maybe three nights in a row next time! Ciao and thank you!

Authentic Italian Food

By vab1122 |

Our friends invited us to dinner at this restaurant so it was our first experience. The place is small and intimate. They start with a brochette and roast red peppers which are very fresh and delicious. I would say the pasta dishes are large so you might want to split them. My best friend and I ordered the shrimp in spicy tomato sauce (limited pasta). Didn't need to split that, they were perfect. Since we are watching our carbs this was a great option. We had brought a red wine which was serve around the table for a 10 dollar core fee. Very worth it. Everyone around the table was very satisfied with the food. I lived in San Pedro for awhile and appreciate the authentic Italian restaurants in the area. They deserve a shout out. Also, there were many families there with small children, the staff were very caring with them as they ran around. Very family oriented.

Excellent Italian cuisine, massive portions, superb service!!!

By FREQTRAV12 |

Tried this place based on TripAdvisor rating and was not disappointed. Everything was above average to excellent. The free appetizer was very tasty. Loved the salad, entree, and the great dessert. They have some parking in the back of the building or park on any street. Great value for what you pay. More of a loud family room than a date night restaurant. If you are craving Italian then this place is a must.

Ciao Bella!

By DandLtravel |

Attended a concert in the area and checked around for a dining option ~ Raffaello's won. Incredibly busy for a Sunday night, that's a great sign. Full of locals, another great sign. Family owned/operated and employs family members, even better sign. To hear Italian spoken in an Italian restaurant, molto bene. They start you with obligatory bread and butter ALONG WITH a plate of brushetta and roasted peppers. Abundant servings on entrees to the point where leftovers provided a whole new meal the next night. This is homestyle cooking like you’ll get in Italy. While service was attentive, would have appreciated more polish. Hint to servers: try not to bump the table or chairs as you pass by; don’t try to take my plate when I’m still shoveling food in to my mouth - seriously, fork was in hand moving from a half-full plate to my mouth when the waiter came by and said "you still working on that?" !!! Nothing grand about the food or place, and that's not a slam. It's lovely to have a solid place where you feel comfortable and enjoy the food. Wish Rafaello's had a place in my neck of the woods ... I’d be there every night.

The reviews say it all!

By Jesus G |

The food and service exceeded our expectations! Portions were generous enough to take home leftovers to enjoy again. Great family atmosphere as well.

good Italian, but it has lost an edge since COVID. it was all good, just not quite as great as before.

Personal attention to our large party

By Laura B |

I am not from the area, but a relative recommended the restaurant to me. I made reservations in advance to accommodate our party of 15. We ended up arriving an hour early (phone called ahead with the time change) and the table was ready and waiting for us. We all enjoyed the roasted peppers and warm bread. A salad came with the lunch plates, two if you are sharing the entrée. They also divided the plate in the kitchen, so mess sharing the plate. They provide hearty portions so most went home with leftovers. Our party ordered many different entrees, and it seems like everyone was pleased. We also heard 2 men sing Happy Birthday in Italian to another table. I would like to return again.

Great for catering and take-out too!!

By Geoffrey Kiehl |

Upon recommendation of John Papadakis of Papadakis Taverna fame, we selected Gino Cutri’s restaurant to cater our daughter’s wedding reception. Gino and his team lived up to their stellar reputation. All of the food was delicious and the presentation was well done. The staff were extremely polite and attentive without being intrusive. The portions were more than generous leaving us plenty of leftovers which were just as delicious the next day. The pricing was fair and affordable. But most of all, I truly appreciate Gino’s sensitivity and concern about making everything about the special occasion simply perfect. I am very grateful for everything he did.

My lunch favorite in San Pedro

By Yie-Ming |

Excellent service, complementary roasted peppers with bread at the table, large fresh salad included with all dishes, large portions of fresh delicious Italian food. Can't decide which dish is my favorite so I rotate through all of them.

A delightful find

By David K |

What a delight. We were in Los Angeles before we departed on our cruise. We drove around the neighborhoods and found this place. I cannot remember ever having better Italian dining. The motto is “We feed you like family,” and they live it. As a vegetarian, I am always concerned about an unknown restaurant, but they have several vegetarian options. My carnivorous dinnermates also had many selections, and we were all thrilled with our respective meals and service. The service was friendly and impeccable. The wait staff is very attentive, personable, and professional. I had a perfectly (and healthfully) prepared eggplant parmesan. The eggplant was not thinly sliced and not deep-fried. The marinara was perfectly seasoned. The house salad was very fresh and perfectly dressed. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. I look forward to my next visit to Los Angeles and the opportunity to dine here again.

A really nice place

By CoronaTraveler22 |

We stopped here for a late lunch as Ports of Call restaurants were too crowded. Good call by my daughter. Food was excellent and ample quantities. I will come here whenever in the area. There was a wedding party and a post funeral lunch taking place. All attendees looked happy. This is what a restaurant should look and be like. Happy people enjoying food reasonably priced and prepared well.

Ooooooh so good!

By susanjoyceh |

The service was great. The food was beyond expectations. The location was little unexpected but well worth the visit, the place and the atmosphere was full of energy. I met the owner and he talked of his brother too. So cool!!!! Better than any chain restaurant. The terramasu is mothers home recipe and was to die for. THANK YOU for such great food!!!

Old School Italian Restaurant - Outstanding!

By PaulD146 |

This restaurant reminded me of the great Italian restaurants back in the New York area where a meal is an event best shared with friends and family. We were greeted warmly by the owner, Gino Cutri, and immediately made to feel like family. He truly wanted us to enjoy his restaurant and his hospitality - something often missing in today's restaurant business. The meal started with complementary warm bread, plates of roasted peppers and to die-for bruschetta. It was followed up by all of the classic Italian dishes done right. The food was fantastic - the service was excellent. This restaurant is NOT to be missed!

Among the best Italian restaurants in the Los Angeles area.

By Pat |

First, it's located in San Pedro, not Los Angeles. Every entree is truly wonderful in taste, and the best part is they give you so much you'll take enough of it home to enjoy another meal. Their Italian entrees are special, but even better when seafood is included. The service is great, setting is homey, and they'll be moving into a larger setting (on 7th St. @ Pacific Ave.) in November and that promises to make Raffaello's even bettr.

Great little Italian restaurant with excellent food and reasonable prices. Go early because it fills up fast. We were referred by the folks at the Best Western on Gaffey street.

Home style Italian

By hodieduran |

What an amazing find this was. Spectacular food, service, and ambience. Could not have enjoyed a more wonderful dinner. We were celebrating a birthday and they made it very special. The egg plant Parmesan, chicken Parmesan, and veal Parmesan was to die for. The salmon salad was perfect. Our waiter was outstanding, and made everything very special. The prices were very reasonable, And it looked like everybody in the place was having a wonderful time. We will definitely be back, and it anxious to try some other items from the menu.

It's the Real Thing!

By Pam C |

We were recommended to Raffaello Restorante while staying at the Best Western. Such a great recommendation!!! About a six block walk from the hotel this unassuming building houses an amazing Italian restaurant! I felt like we had been transported to Italy! Incredible service and authentic food at a great price. We should have had reservations but they managed to accomodate us when we arrived at 5pm. Any later we would have been out of luck. The neighborhood is a little sketchy for the walk but we were fine in daylight. If it had been dark or if you have mobility concerns I would get a taxi. However I really needed the walk back after eating! Highly recommend!!! We will be back!

Felt like family

By noni2lily |

Our family visited this wonderful restaurant because it was located close to our hotel and had great ratings. It was a wonderful choice. A few of ordered a house wine, which was poured from a bottle, not a box. We shared a few entries. They were all very good, but I'd have to say the peppers and bruschetta were amongst my favorites. I come from a family of gnocchi snobs and we were not disappointed.

Roasted peppers

By 4darle |

This little cozy San Pedro restaurant is my special place to take out of town friends and family. The food is inexpensive, service is smooth and friendly, good wines, and oh how everyone loves the starter of roasted peppers Great place for great food..

Amazing - definitely coming back

By Dan W |

This was my first time here I recommend you make reservations as its smaller than I thought The food was amazing and the gnocchi is made fresh at restaurant. The service, both waiter and busboy, were outstanding. It was nice to see the owner walking around and greeting everyone Try the tiramisu ! Not to sweet

Pasta... Amazing!

By Jerichong |

This nondescript little eatery sits in an overlooked area of San Pedro. If it weren't for a local recommendation - we never would've eaten there. We would've been the big losers! While the neighborhood isn't my favorite (waning industrial downtown) the food is excellent and worth overlooking the setting. When you enter through the front door, the owner or his family is there to greet you. We were seated immediately and had warm bread, a sautéed pepper garnish and water within minutes. I ordered the Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca and my hubby had the Lobster Ravioli. Oh-em-gee!!! The delight to the tastebuds, the flavor of the olives, capers and onions mingled in the spaghetti. My husband's lobster ravioli was equally good. The portions were generous (we had leftover spaghetti and split it between two of us the next day) and served piping hot. I highly recommend this hidden gem.

Post Hike Heaven!

By cmccourt |

After a day spent hiking on Catalina Island, this amazing restaurant was just a 10-minute drive from the dock parking lot in San Pedro. I felt as though we were stepping into the past as we were greeted and seated, given Italian bread, bruschetta, marinated peppers, and salad--not as part of our order--but just part of what they do here. The table next to us was full of speakers of Italian, the waiters all extremely attentive, and the owner watching over everything and helping out. I ordered the Ravioli di Funghi and my partner had the Rigatoni Alla Porcara. The portions were huge. Not wanting to miss dessert, we ordered the Tiramisu and Flourless Chocolate Cake to take with us. Heaven! Don't miss your chance to enjoy Rafaello Ristorante!

Pleasantly surprised 😋

By Cathy |

The location of the restaurant is in a sketchy area and the decor needs a bit updating; however, it’s worth overlooking it to eat a wonderful Italian meal. You won’t leave hungry. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. They brought out so much food and everything was delicious! They offer complimentary roasted peppers in olive oil along with bruschetta... plus nice fresh sliced Italian bread. Then perfectly dressed with olive oil and vinegar mixed green salad. Me and my daughters’ pasta was so yummy. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want inexpensive authentic Italian.

Great place to Dine

By Morfynn |

This restaurant have greatly improved over the last few years. The whole family is now involved. The mother & her children are particularly welcoming & understanding of their customer's needs. The food is great and ample. The only two downers. 1. their parking situation. If you live locally get an Uber or taxi as parking is limited & the area of town is better in the daylight. 2. They need larger tables should your group be larger than 8.

Wow...blew us away

By ALPH2015 |

I have to admit that from the outside, it looked a little rough. But as soon as you open the door. .the smell of the wonderful food, the laughter from all the people inside...we couldn't wait! Every person we spoke to was so friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was great, lots and lots of choices. This restaurant far exceeded our expectations. The next time my wife and I are in Los Angeles. Yup, we're having dinner here!

What a nice surprise!

By Becki N |

Found this place with my iPhone maps, had good reviews. Such a quaint location. You feel like family from the moment you walk in. Starts with amazing Bruschetta and peppers complimentary. The chicken Marsala and veal piccata were beyond amazing. Then to finish up they brought out complimentary gelato. Not to mention, they are quite affordable. If you're near San Pedro, it's a must have!

Husband's birthday dinner

By mjwest258 |

My husband had the pasta arrabiata when we went several months ago. For his birthday dinner, he picked Raffaelo's which was 60 miles away. We were excited the whole drive. We were joined by our adult daughter and my father-in-law. The house Chianti was excellent the food was heavenly. I ordered the fish special, basso. Large portion, cooked perfectly, delicately sauced. Then the fun began. Our waiter sent over his cousin to sing a Frank Sinatra ballad to my husband and we had spumoni all around. The service was great and we had an excellent time. I wish I lived closer, I would go weekly.

Great choice

By MinnesotaFamily2 |

We loved it. We went dye to the good reviews and we weren't disappointed. A family owned and run restaurant. The service was great, and the menu was extensive. The food was very good. The portions are quite large. We went with a picky teen eater and the staff had several suggestions to accommodate him, and took it all in stride. We ate on a Tuesday night, and they easily seated a group of seven without reservations. Will visit again when we're in the area.

WOW, Just WOW!!

By Big Al |

Staying at a hotel about an 8 minute walk away so after reading a few reviews on TA, we struck out to Raffaello Ristorante. What an outstanding dinner. The food was very good-scratch that GREAT. The service was outstanding, and frankly I thought the price was very reasonable. I can see why it is rated the #1 restaurant in Los Angeles. Who knew in all of LA, the number 1 restaurant was a short walk from our hotel in San Pedro. I highly recommend trying/coming back to Raffaello Ristorante. It will be a great dining experience.

Large portions

By Geoff B |

Great meal , authentic Italian cuisine , very attentive staff , wouldn’t recommend ordering a starter as the mains (entrees) are on the large side . Plus complimentary bruschetta, salad & desert , prices very reasonable, would definitely go again .

Reuniting with and old friend.

By Terry Z |

My wife had the family recipe Lasagna; I had the veal marsala; and, our friend had the pasta with house sauce. All meals were excellent. Meals came with bread and salad. We were waited on by the son of this family owned business. We love to support local business when we travel and you can't get more local than family owned. Excellent service throughout the meal. there were several groups being served and you could tell they were also having fun and that many were returning customers. This restaurant has a warm and homey atmosphere. We highly recommend this restaurant. San Pedro has many restaurants and we were visiting and could not visit them all. Boy, we made a great selection with this choice. could not have done better.

A Gem of an Italian Restaurant

By SeekerofSun |

My wife and I ate here the evening prior to departing on a cruise. Good menu with outstanding food. Service was top notch. The grilled peppers were melt in your mouth delicious and were served gratis with the bread. Both entres were better than the wonderful cruise ship meals. We plan to return here on our next visit to San Pedro.

Excellent dinner

Our dinner was delicious, excellent value and service! After a lovely night of delicious food, the owner Gino drove us back to our hotel as there was a huge thunder and rain storm! Thank you Gino!

Excellent Italian Food!!!

By PJ6979 |

On the recommendation of both Trip Advisor and Yelp we stopped to have dinner before embarking on our cruise the following morning. Without a doubt this is a true Italian restaurant. Meet Gino who is one of the owners and several other Gino’s working there. Since our son’s name is Gino we found this place to be like home. You will enjoy the pepper- tomato bruschetta they start you out with. I ordered their Vitelllo Alla Piccata which was veal Sautéed with Capers and Lemon Sauce. $16.50. My husband ordered the Lasagna Alla Calabrese which was lasagna in a traditional meat, cream and red sauce. $14.50. You won’t go wrong visiting this place. Food is absolutely wonderful and as others have said you receive plenty of it. You can review their menu online and all the wonderful reviews. This place is a must!!!

Very upscale restaurant and

Very upscale restaurant and would eat here again no problem was more than expected before we knew there was bruschetta and sauté peppers and onions on the table.

True italian style

By Tim B |

If you are looking for italian quality pasta this is the restaurant you are looking for! A true italian restaurant, run by an italian family that kept the italian principles of serving and making sure that the customer is happy. No matter what you order they offer you bruschetta, peperoni and salad. We tried that pasta which was perfect (very generous portions, but hey it’s the US). All the food was great, pasta well cooked (not overcooked as too often is the case outside of Italy) and very tasty. Anyone who wants to have a great italian dinner should go here. 5 stars!

Wow!!!

By Travelendude |

After reading the reviews the restaurant sounded terrific. We decided to go for lunch before checking into our hotel the day before our cruise. I thought the lunch food might be scaled down because of the lunch price. First let me say how truly outstanding the staff is. So many warm, welcoming, efficient people. We almost did not stop because you have to find street parking when the lot is full. They are moving 3/20. Everything the reviews said was true!!!!! They gave us a yummy appetizer of marinated red peppers & sourdough bread & rolls. This was followed by a delicious salad with fresh ingredients & perfect Italian dressing. We ordered chicken piccata & calamari dinners. They came with roasted potatoes & perfected cooked & seasoned vegetables. This was a hugh portion. We also had iced tea & bill came to less than $33.00 served by an adorable Italian guy but everyone was charming. We thought we were thru & then he brought spumoni!!!! We will certainly be back!!!

Dinner after Whale Watching

By halpie52 |

I went out to dinner tonight with five friends. So we were a group of six. I am glad I made a reservation as it was getting full by 7:00 pm. Speaking of getting full - each of us in the group were stuffed and only ate half or less of our dish. The portions are huge. One dish is enough for two or three people. To start with I was pleased to get an email this morning telling me the corkage fee was $15. I decided to bring a couple bottles of wine that I enjoy to share with my friends. Another pleasant surprise was when we received six bread slices with tomato pieces on top as well as a plate of grilled peppers. Those were before we ordered. After we ordered we received twisted bread sticks and each our own small dinner salad. All included in the price of our meals. The dishes we ordered came in a timely manner and the presentation was lovely. The taste was on the average level, not outstanding. A couple of those in the group didn’t take their left overs as the dishes didn’t appeal to them enough to want them as left overs. My dish was Fehttuchini with three kinds of seafood; salmon, shrimp, and calamari. The salmon and shrimp were tasty but the calamari was tough and chewy. The pink sauce did not have much flavor. If I return I would definite share a dinner entrees with another.

Taste of Italy

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and dishes with the true taste of Italy with the flair of California, the wine list is excellent.

A tale of two experiences.

For being the second rated restaurant in the Los Angeles area, I was not super impressed. It was not bad by any stretch of the imagination. The food wasn’t all that special. The service and atmosphere were great however.

True Italian 6500 Miles Away

By RonnMeredith |

If you don't live in the neighborhood, this place is WORTH finding! The worst part is the parking because EVERYONE, and the entire family are coming to dinner! This feels like family; everyone who works here is your cousin, your brother, or your sister and they are entirely focused on you having a wonderful evening. For fans of Italian cuisine, the food is authentic and wonderfully prepared. And be sure to come with your appetite, because, like Italian grandmothers everywhere, the servings are healthy! We had the Cannelloni in 4 cheese sauce and the lamb chop special. Both were amazing, but I have to say the mixed veggies with the lamb were PERFECTLY done, slightly soft with just a hint of crisp. And the sauce on the cannelloni was smooth as fine silk and just as delicate. Including appetizer, salad, main course, desert, coffee, a bottle of wine, and the tip, the bill, for 2 of us was about $100. Carlos, our waiter, helped us improve our Italian, was ready to assist at a glance, and seemed to completely enjoy his job. And he added a lovely baritone to the birthday songs sung to other diners during the evening! This is a fun place to come with wonderful food and service. Come, enjoy and be part of a truly delightful dining experience.

Amazing Italian

By Jennie E |

We stopped here on a whim during a visit to Los Angeles. I was so impressed from the moment we sat down. We were served warm bread and drinks immediately. Our waiter was attentive and personable. The food, oh the food! Portions are large, like you should expect to take food home large. Our party ordered everything from chicken marsala to a pasta dish with their vodka sauce. All of it was amazing! I ate till I hurt and wished our hotel had a way to reheat the food for tomorrow. I highly recommend you try this place! I was so full that I decided to take dessert home. Looking forward to it later as I am sure it too is excellent.

OMG!!! SO GOOD!!

By Erin M |

We had dinner at Raffaello Ristorante in San Pedro by chance and had wonderful surprises throughout our experience. We greeted with friendly warm service. Then brought bruccetta with our bread that was so yummy. The appetizers were wonderful, entrees amazing and dessert was spectacular! Definitely not run of the mill Italian food. And the service was warm and family like. Raffaello is a gem and a treat. I cannot say enough nice things about this dining experience.

Our favorite Italian Restaurant

By goodfoodlover41 |

We have been coming to dinner here for 20 years and never miss an Opportunity to bring friends to enjoy the food, service, ambience and family. Yes, the servings are large but it is all delicious. The roasted peppers served at the start of dinner are fantastic. If you order the fried calamari you will not be disappointed. I have tried many of the entrees and all were delicious.

A little nugget of Italian taste in the downtown area of San Pedro

By Computimus |

This place is so accommodating to families. WE have been there twice(this being number two) and the staff recalled meeting us. They are in the right amount of contact with respect to letting you enjoy food and making sure the plates don't overtake the table. Such and enjoyable place. Oh and the food! Man, A taste of what is good<finger tips pinched together and the sound muah!!!> Love this food!! If you are traveling around, Seek out this place and partake in some good east!. Caio Tony, Raffello!

Best Italian food outside of Italy!

By jjjsfish |

This place is crazy good! Everything is amazing. They serve roasted red peppers and bruschetta when you set down. Every meal comes with a large salad. The sangria is wonderful. Order a carafe. Can't say enough about how Delois's the food is. This is now our go to place to take out of town guests and family. All our birthdays, graduations and celebrations are an excuse to go to eat here. They even have gluten free pasta for those that want it. Service is the best we have ever had at any restaurant.

Prices Great!

By PLO528 |

I have only eaten here for catering events...mostlty retirement parties so I can only speak for that food. It was "ok" by my standards, but the prices are very reasonable. Maybe the regular menu food is better, especially if I had something I got to choose myself. There is a parking issue so arrive early. This is an ideal place for a family or traveler though.

Reservation honored for 9. Table waiting. Service was superb by all staff involved. Appetizers were unexpected and delicious. All agreed that the dining experience was great. Good was fresh and served at the correct temp. We weren't rush at all. Two photos attached, veal parm and lasagna.

Great Service and Italian

This is one of those family friendly cozy Italian restaurants where the entire family works around the clock to insure everyone has a great meal and time. From the welcome to the good by you feel like you are amongst the best. We had the home made lasagne which was hot, spicy and melted in your mouth fantastic. Fresh grated parm on the top with great sides of homemade roasted peppers and garlic and fresh baked Italian bread. WOW what a meal.

Traditional Italian Family Restaurant

By y2jt18 |

I don’t give 5 stars regularly, but Raffaello’s easily earned it. Traditional ambiance in an old school Italian family restaurant. Delicious food that arrives in HUGE portions made with fresh ingredients. Impeccable service, all at a very reasonable price. If I lived in this area, this would be a once or twice a month restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

excellent

the service, the food the surroundings couldn't have been better! the group we were with did not have reservations, but they worked hard to get us seated rather quickly at a busy time! We all had different meals and we were all (6 of us) VERY satisfied with the food and the cost.

This was a total gastronomical surprise

This was a total surprise. Bruchetta and marinated bell peppers with fresh Italian bread and butter is immediately set on your table. I ordered the house chianti and it was very nice. For my entree I ordered the Shrimp in pink vodka sauce. It came with a green salad, pasta, side of veggies and the shrimp. All were excellent. Service was super professional and friendly. I will be back!

Glad we stopped here

After visiting the Queen Mary we wanted a nice sit down dinner somewhere fairly close and found Rafaello Ristorante on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. We were glad we did did. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming and the food was great. My husband and I each had a penne dish which were excellent. The dinner came with a nice size salad and delicious bread. They also gave us spumoni that was very flavorful and creamy. Hope we can go back someday.

My wife and I were in San Pedro for a cruise and we saw the reviews for this restaurant and made reservations. We were early but seated at once. Our hotel told us if we mentioned we were staying there we each would receive a free glass wine, we did, they did.The wine was good. We decided to split a meal and ordered the veal parmesan and it was delicious. Their bread also was very good and fresh.

Outstanding Italian Food

We were staying for a week in San Pedro, and the hotel staff recommended Raffaello's as a good Italian restaurant within walking distance. The outside is rather non-descript, but all that changes when you open the door. You are welcomed inside the small foyer, and led into the dining room to table arrangements set up for both small and large groups. This place hops, and many of the guests seemed to be locals. The wait staff are attentive, but don't hover, and they are on the run all the time. This was a great family experience, and they welcomed us back with our grandchildren later in the week.

Good Italian food

We were staying in the motel opposite here pre cruise so popped in for a beer and a light meal.It was a Wed night around 8pm and we were surprised to see how busy it was.The waiters and waitress were friendly and very efficient. We were given complimentary starters of bread with tomatoes and roasted peppers. We both just had antipasto courses ,me fried squid which was a huge helping and delicious my husband had meatballs also good we got a big basket of bread and butter also free.At end they brought us 2 complimentary ice creams.Bill for all this and 3 beers was $46. Restaurant looks awful from outside in fact it looks closed and had it not been recommended to us we would never have gone in.The decor inside is very old and unfortunately the carpet is filthy, that needs to be changed as it is off putting. Otherwise a great wee spot.

Wow...who knew!

This place is a hidden little gem of a family Italian restaurant in San Pedro. Not much would lead you to believe you could find this place in this spot. Great food...made to order and huge portions you will take 1/2 home for sure. Service is friendly and prompt. The owner is there watching everything as it should be. Nothing fancy decor wise, but who cares. It's all about the food. Mangia...

Sunday night dinner with out of town friends!

By llvassoc |

Friends from Santa Fe were in town prior to going on a cruise, and wanted good Italian food, so off to Raffaello's we went. Great choices, too many to choose from actually :) We decided on the appetizer of Calamari which as always was wonderful, light and tasty. I ordered the cheese ravioli and asked for just olive oil and garlic for my sauce. That was wonderful garlic finely sliced and lightly toasted made it heaven! One of my friends ordered the clams and linguine and she thought it was great. I thought she got a large number of lovely baby clams. And her friend ordered a chicken dish which was huge and very tasty. Wine choices were also fun.

Boy oh boy! What did I find? A great Italian food joint with an Italian singing contest to boot! I have never seen so many “Frankie Valleys “ “Dean Martins” and “Frank Sinatra’s” before and all free! On top of that, the food was phenomenal! From the free appetizers, super fresh bread, the soup and veal, unbelievable!! That’s amore!

Family run with family pride

We had a referral from the Best Western and had dinner here post Cruise. they give a glass of wine or dessert to Best Western guest to mention this. The portions were huge! I had the eggplant and it was great. My friend had the shrimp and veggies, also good. Nice prices. The walk was okay, the neighborhood seemed a little hard for two women but we were fine.

UNBELIEVABLE!

The service, food, and experience was like a dream come true...If you want a delightful dinner and celebration of your loved one's 100th Birthday, come to Raffaello's Restaurant in San Pedro! My name is Pinocchio, the lying Disney boy puppet...do the exact opposite and run fast to Gaetano's, Olive Garden, Il Fornaio...FAST!!!

My son and I love dinners at Raffaello's! You will always get a great meal (we love the chicken parmesan) and friendly atmosphere from staff and clientele. Just come hungry because they will feed you well!

An Awesome Surprise

Four of us boarding a Princess Cruise this Saturday. We had just driven 6+ hours from AZ to get here. Staying at the BW hotel close to the Port. We found this restaurant and decided to try it. Both couples shared a dinner with no backlash from the servers which has happened many times at many restaurants. Everything was beyond a total joy and adding a desire to return. Hats off to this restaurant their food is above superb!!! Thank you Tooie (spell) server soooo good. Don't miss this restaurant if you are in this area, it's worth a special trip.... Owner was special to make sure everything was excellent and the place was super busy..... Katie B
