A historic Rock N Roll place is a must-see when visiting Los Angeles. My Chinese Chicken Salad was huge and tasty - and my wife had the sliders - very good, the fries were disgusting though. We were a party of eight - and we all hated them. Cold and soggy. But then you don't go here for the cuisine ;-) I took the Wacken people as guests who flew in for the Superbowl. Mentioned this when reserving a table. Wanted to reserve under the name Wacken - and the lady had no idea what Wacken was (if you don't - it's worth google Wacken Festival - the holy grail of metal). Interesting in a place like the Rainbow. Sadly, their prices reflect the tourist character of the place - and not the quality of their food - I would give it three stars of out five - and still recommended, as I love it for what it stands for. And yes, I did do a 30+ min detour just to go (mandatory with me to achieve five stars). So Rainbow guys in the kitchen: get your s*** together. Fries do not have to be soggy and cold. Should be easy to improve.

I eventually managed to tick one off the bucket list by visiting the Rainbow. Its a Motorhead thing! I can say that I wasn't disappointed because the place has a chilled out vibe. Our visit was early in the afternoon and after a few Jack and Cokes in the Lemmy Lounge, the home from home for Motorhead's iconic frontman, we ate in the restaurant that hosted many a rock star from back in the day (and still does!). If only walls could tell stories! We were served by the lovely Dani who took the time to have a natter with us, which we enjoyed. Service was great, food was great, atmosphere and friendliness of staff was excellent! I can't wait to go back.

I'm Italian and last year I went to visit this pub with my dad. If you love rock music this is one of the best place on earth! I really loved it! The waitress are professional and very friendly. When I will come back to Los Angeles I will surely come there again ❤❤

We weren't too sure, initially, about this place. It didn't seem like much from the outside, but the reviews tempted us enough to give it a shot. That and we were staying close by and didn't feel like traveling too far. The risk was worth it - the quality and quantity of the food was outstanding; although as lovely as our waitress was, her knowledge of the food was a little lacking (I was told, confusingly so, that the Chicken Parmesan was a pasta dish. I wasn't too surprised when it came out and wasn't a pasta dish). However, her service was great, and the food was delicious. It felt like a great home-cooked meal, and we enjoyed every bite. The atmosphere was great - the red lighting made for a more intimate feel, and you felt you were mostly there alone. The pieces of music history on the walls also made for an interesting view whilst waiting for, and eating, the food. All in all, this was an excellent stop for dinner, and I would greatly recommend this to anyone else considering it.

Classic LA bar, always worth an evening visit when in LA. You never know who you’re going to see & the pickup bands in the back bar are truely awesome.

Mythical bar , where Lemmy Kilmister would hang out. Him and many other artists as a matter of fact. Nice terrace. That restaurant holds a mystical energy , if only walls could talk. Didn't have the chance to eat there but it looks like that had a wide variety, decent prices.

This place is amazing from the valet staff (Vahe) to the door guy (Beaver) and the mangers Anthony,Joe and James! The food is so constantly good! Try anything and you will be very happy! Drinks at the bar are fantastic from Carolyn. Thanks Bow

I did my marriage proposal at the Rainbow and it was a great success. The management and the staff were very friendly and they helped me in making that an unforgettable night. Go to the Rainbow and something special will happen to you, Simone from Roma

I've been in America nearly a month now, and the service has been wonderful until now. Never in my life have I received such dreadful customer service. The woman at the bar had such a bad attitude and made us feel so unwelcome. We have travelled a long way to come here and she ruined our experience. Her aside, the bar itself is very cool and if you have any interest in rock (especially Motörhead) you will love it. The drinks weren't too pricey, and there's plenty of places to sit. I wouldn't go again, purely to avoid being served by the woman at the bar again, but if you're into rock and don't mind being treated badly then give it a go!

The worst experience so far in California. Everybody was so nice and cool except in this bar. The two girls with the triple thick facepaint making them look like zombies in their fourties are just arrogant and unpolite. Seems their parents didn't do a good job unfortunately. We waited half an hour and then asked really friendly three times to order but the girls just were focused on the famous rapper dude (Post Malone) acting like - sorry - they just wanna get layed after obviously a long time - though he wasnt interested at all and even made jokes on them. Poor girls and sad for the bar. Not again.

Went to the Rainbow whilst on holiday in L A from London. Good music and good company. Christie serving the drinks was amazing.

Visiting the Rainbow Bar & Grill was a big tick box for us visiting from Australia. The place itself was great to see with a strong nostalgic feel, the food we had was ok, cold fries, but the main downer was the waitress who served us, she was rude and had attitude. This spoilt the whole experience for us, I would recommend having a drink at Lemmy's bar and looking around but don't waste your money eating there!

I see that TripAdvisor keep talking about celebrities sightings. We had a lot of Rockstar celebrities hanging out there until they started booking bands Because once somebody asks a famous musician to come see them play THERE GOES THEIR DAY OFF Or if a celebrity musician should watch your band play... Then of course you going to ask them to help you get them signed THERE GOES THEIR DAY OFF To bring back celebrity sightings... We would need a regularly consistent weekend night of : Ban The Bands/4/A/Rock & Roll Dance Floor That would bring it back to the casual ambiance that attracted celebrity sightings in the first place

Iconic place, greasy hangover food, great atmosphere and ok beers (could have had more craftbeers). Our waiter was a little bit rude and un-interested in us, so the service could have been better. But as a heavy metal dude, this place with all its history is really cool.

This is a must-go for all that have the slightest interest in music and rock. Great food. The Philly Cheese Steak sandwich is by far the best I've ever had. Great service from the staff, and great atmosphere. Just go there!

Visiting the rainbow had long been on the bucketlist as a rock fan but to say I was disappointed was an understatement The staff are beyond rude and unprofessional a dark haired girl served me drinks and her attitude was appalling I thanked her when she gave me my change and she looked at me in disgust Think a reality check is needed she was more than happy to flutter her hair and eyes at any man who walked in the door but when it came to a female she didn’t seem to be able to extend the same flutter Think someone needs to give her a reality check she works in the service industry so maybe leave the diva attitude for the actual stars

We tried to visit to this place a couple of times. Each time complete failure due to staff being clueless of what was happening in or out of the establishment. First time outside security directed us inside to the cashier with a very loud DON'T APPROACH THE BAR! Um, ok. Inside I saw the cashier as told to do for a table. She promptly and rudely asks why we are inside as if I'm violating some policy. She then tells go back outside and tell security to seat us. Security is a different guy now who when I ask for a table advises me to go inside (no way I am seeing that woman again). Well I tell him we tried that he shrugs, looks around and says if I find a table grab it. We left. The next day we called thinking a reservation might make it all easier. The same woman, over the phone, with same crappy attitude says she'll put us down for 8, but "can't promise we will be able to actually seat you." We had our beers and food someplace else.

If I had a bucket list, which I don't, a visit to the Rainbow would be on it so whilst in LA my wife and I visited one afternoon. It's a really cool place full of history and something of a shrine to the great man Lemmy, complete with life sized statue. We only stayed for the one drink whilst we had a good look around, which seemed to annoy the waitress, but, hey ho, we had to cram as much of LA in as we could during our short stay. If you are a rock fan, especially of the 80's hair metal scene, you should take the time.

Talk about the perfect combo! Rock N Roll, great food, great vibe and great drinks. Joe,Anthony,James,Vahe,Beaver,Carolyn, and all the staff do an amazing job. Thank you for making a million memories for me and my family

We went here just because it's almost a must do when in LA. When we went this time they were extremely short staffed. One person working inside and one person working outside. It took us 1.5 hours to order and get a small pizza that my friend and I split. They were only 3 other tables inside. The pizza was great...good place to people watch and possibly see someone famous just wish the service had been friendlier and quicker. I guess she was just busy....I guess. My friend wanted a souvenier T Shirt and she was told by the inside waitress to go outside to buy it, then after waiting a good while out there (there was only one waitress working out there also and it was alot busier) for the outside waitress' help she said our inside waitress was supposed to get it. Took about 15 more minutes to buy a T Shirt but the outside waitress did end up helping us. I can't say "never again", but I'd like to. :-)

We had lunch and unfortunately for me I could not eat due to a recent surgery. My husband had fried mushrooms and then cheese and fresh fruit. He had no complaints. He was amazed at how fresh the fruit was that he got. Don't forget to visit the statute of Lemmy. Sit in Ace Von Johnson's booth. He is the guitar player for Faster Pussycat. In the evenings.....get the pizza. A friend of mine bought one for Rob Halford because he says Rob loves their pizza. The king of metal can't be wrong.

This is a MUST go to if u love rock n roll and interested in the history of bands etc! Guns N Roses Estranged & November Rain has a part in their music video recorded here, if u didnt know! Everything about this place is awesome and spot on from the atmosphere to all the photos and guitars on the wall to the good Lemmy Lounge outside! And also their pizza is delish! Loved every moment of this place I’ll be sure to return as soon as possible!

My family stumbled on Rainbow Bar and Grill, not realizing the history behind it. The restaurant is a very cool place to visit if you are into heavy metal music. There are pictures and memorabilia all around the room and the booths are relatively private. We had attentive service throughout our stay and the pizzas were delicious.

Went in a trip to Los Angeles with my partner and was looking forward to visiting this historical place as I am a huge music fan and have always wanted to see what the sunset strip had to offer only to be then refused entry due to a private event taking up the whole bar was very frustrated as other visitors were refused entry due to this and coming from myself only that particular day I could go to see the rainbow and see the memorabilia in the bar and have food and drinks in this location, very let down by this as there was no heads up on the Facebook page or Instagram etc to let visitors know it was closed off due to a private event. For future reference they should be a lot more vocal on social media to let tourists and visitors know if the place is closed off for a private event etc to save people wasting their time and money to come out only to be disappointed in relation to this.

Take me back in time! What a place to visit! We did not eat only had drinks and went upstairs to the bar to reminisce about what this place was like back in the day! The decor is original from the carpet to the old tables and booths. Must see the little hidden room at the top of the stairs, we sat there and could only imagine all of the crazy times that had taken place there! So fun to see a legendary place, this is a must!

power outage, triggering of the fire alarm, we dined in the dark with the alarm triggered, the boss did not even offer a drink and we paid without any proof. establishment to flee

Great bar with a great crowd and some amazing rock 'n' roll history to it (and I don't just mean the G&R video). Had a tasty pizza, lots of beers and ran in to Ron Jeremy. Awesome.

We visited here one night during our stay in the area. We had booked in advance. The restaurant was busy, and the atmosphere was decent. The service was nice and friendly, but it took a long time to get our meal in the end. Not sure what happened, but people who were in before us had eaten, paid and left before we got our food. The food was disappointing too. We had chicken club and sausage and pepper sandwiches. Really disappointing overall, and wouldn't recommend or return.

Been here before. Food is fine. It's the atmosphere/ambiance that I find interesting This particular visit was very different from my other visits. Usually the service is steady and the food is reliable however my last visit last week our female server with dark hair was so confusing because throughout the dinner from the time she took our order she kept making mistakes getting everyone's meal wrong and kept forgetting the answers we gave her to questions that she asked us during the course of our meal. She often replied with answers that didn't make sense to the questions asked in there therefore my dinner guest found it difficult not to assume that she was off. Something was wrong with her behavior that evening. Just being honest. I'm in no hurry to go back anymore

We went for lunch on a Friday and it was pretty quiet, the waitress who served us was so lovely and welcoming! She sat us down at a table however we asked which one was the guns n roses booth as I’m a huge Guns n Roses fan so she pointed to which one it was. We asked if maybe we could sit in that one instead and she was absolutely fine with us doing so! It made our entire trip to LA! The food was lovely and was also hot when brought out too. Loved all the memorabilia and photos on the walls from all the different rock bands. If you’re a classic rock lover I highly recommend this place! I’ll definitely be back soon!

Good food, the pizza was my favorite and great staff. We were in LA for a week and went to the Rainbow room four times. Can't wait to go back.

My husband and daughter are huge Motorhead fans and have always wanted visit here, It is an awesome place to visit, so much history in the place and the food was pretty good too. Our server wasn't the best but it was still a good visit.

Loved this place. We went for an early dinner. The food and drinks were great and so was the atmosphere. I hadn't been in a rock bar before but really liked it!

A pretty casual rock bar in Hollywood with TV above the bar showing the NFL game. Pretty large space and with a lot of seatings upstairs also.

A deliberate trip to LA from England en Routen to Vegas just to visit the watering hole of Lemmy. I wasn’t disappointed, visited twice during my short stay in the city. Excellent tribute honouring the great man. Cheerful staff, good choice of beers and the food looked great though I didn’t have any personally. Perhaps the part of LA that didn’t leave me a little underwhelmed.

Having always wanted to see the Rainbow, we stopped for lunch on our way through town. The place looks & smells like it hasn't changed in 30 years and that's the way it should be. Iconic places should keep their historical charm. The server was friendly and the pizza was decent and the valet parking was free. Highly recommend for any fan of the Strip and its history.

For the history alone this is a great place, plus you never know who you might see. A popular place for rockers. Also amazing pepperoni pizza....it is what I always get when here.

I am still wondering what the draw to this place is. To say it was dark was the understatement. We used a pen light to see the menu. Salsa and chips $8.95!!! Beer $9. We had 2 salsa and chips, 2 pizza and a dessert for $109 not including tip as was pointed out by the waitress.she also warned us that there were only 2 waitresses on. I guess this excuses very slow service. The walls were covered with photos, some signed. I really do no understand why people come here for poor, expensive food. That must be why it is dark in there so you can't see the food or the pictures.

so good! Love the atmosphere at this spot. A real treasure. We ordered pizza, burgers and a few side items. Food was yum and simple! good drink specials, different bars within the building, made it fun to roam around!

This place was as interesting as it gets! The staff were amusing, funny and friendly, the bar itself was full of amazing people, all with various anecdotes and stories about famous people that frequented and frequent the bar. I was with friends and we were only dropping in, but ended up staying most of the day, and being Brits, we drank a lot! This certainly is a bar to end up in, and if I'm ever in LA again, it's where I'm heading to.

First trip to LA and running into this place was the best thing that could ever happen to me. Great beer, huge selection of drinks, awesome music, local bands playing, a statue of the one and only LEMMY! Had a drink with Rob Affuso, long-time Skid Row drummer... It seemed like everyone, locals and visitors, was willing to say hi and talk to you about bands. I even played jenga with one of the bartenders lol. If you're a metalhead this place will be like heaven for you. And if you're not you'll have a good time too. Don't forget to take a pic with Lemmy!!!

Stopped in here with my wife for food, got a BBQ chicken pizza and beer. Food was amazing and beer was yummy. Atmosphere is awesome here.

This is a place you have to visit when you are in LA and are a rock lover. We were there 2 times during our 1 week vacation, both time for lunch. Food was good both times and service was ok ,,first time was good and second not good at all.

The initial service was great and even though food prices were high, they were fair, given we were eating in a place of history. The only downside was after we'd paid our bill in the restaurant and went to an outside table to order more drinks. It turns out we accidentally under-tipped. We're British, so we're not yet 100% used to calculating and adding extra onto our bill for a tip, especially when splitting it between multiple people. Instead of approaching us outside calmly outside and asking politely for clarity on the situation, our waitress practically chastised us in the open for initially tipping a small amount. We of course then gave her an extra amount of money as a fair tip and apologised, but it made us feel uneasy as tourists about eating there again - souring the experience as a whole.

This is a cool place, but our experience was not good at all. My husband ordered a beer and a burger and I ordered a soft drink and a pizza. The drinks and burger arrived quickly, but the pizza didn't come until around 40 minutes after my husband finished eating! Absolutely ridiculous! The waitress came over a couple of times and said that the pizzas come from a different kitchen. A look around the restaurant showed lots of people eating burgers next to other people sitting waiting. Very poor. If I'd known there would be a delay, I would've just ordered a burger! When the pizza did eventually come, the toppings were tasty but it was underdone and doughy. I managed to eat around half of it and we left. This pathetic meal cost us 100 dollars in total. Would recommend you pop in for a drink but definitely give food a miss.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal here in April 2025, as part of an extended birthday celebration for myself, before going onto the Roxy Theater next door for a wonderful gig. Food was excellent - yes, the service isn't the quickest but that's no problem, particularly for this rock&roll mecca location. Just ensure you have plenty of time to savor and enjoy your meal. We both had wine (red for me, white for my wife) - this was particularly delicious and came chilled, in the case of the white. Don't be driving if you want to come here for an enjoyable meal, atmosphere as well as a good evening out ! Best stay within walking distance or use an Uber or other taxi. The decor within the venue is amazing. Start off with a drink in Lemmy's Bar / Lounge first, not just to honour him, but to be amazed at the overall friendliness here ! We'll endeavour to make a return journey here on our future trips to LA.

It will go over your head; this is a hetero-normative musically associated straight bar in the heart of a gay-city. you will forget why they call it "THE' rainbow. There is only one and it is the straightest place in West Hollywood with heterosexual tolerance.

My LA home to be sure. I wish I lived in LA so I could hang here all the time. The atmosphere, music, food staff, history, I am not sure what it is, but I feel at home here.

My daughter and I had lunch while exploring the strip. She ordered sliders while I had a chicken burrito with rice and beans. I really only planned to check out the memorabilia and release my inner child. I was (and still am!) a BIG rock fan. My daughter simply humored me as I walked around like an excited schoolgirl taking everything in. Much to my delight the food was really good! Sometimes when you visit places such as this it’s more about the history and the food is mediocre. Not the case here. We were not disappointed. When we arrived we were the only ones there (besides staff) but within a few minutes other patrons arrived-couples and families. My daughter chuckled at the reactions on their faces. Other “older” adults like myself with wide eyed looks of true childlike excitement. They too walked around looking at everything and taking lots of pictures. It was quite an experience! If you were into rock and hair bands back in the day it’s a stop you MUST make on your trip to LA. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve read so much about this place! All the GREATEST rock stars partied here! ICONIC! Hundreds of photos from the band’s of the 70’s and 80’s! It’s even home to Lemmy’s actual ashes (Motorhead)… in Lemmy’s outdoor Lounge…don’t forget to visit the Treehouse upstairs! Great FUN!

I haven't visited since before COVID hit, but I needed a new T-shirt from Lemmy's Lounge, so one 11.5 hour flight from London and here I am. Service was great, but was very quiet since it was Monday afternoon. The food has gone up a bit since last I was here, but it is still a good price for the area and the portions are huge. I had the meatball sub sandwich with salad and it was excellent. Staff were very friendly and accommodating as usual. The bar owners were sat on the same bar stools that they were in 2019, I hope they have been home in the meantime lol. A visit to the Rainbow is a must if you're in LA.

Not pretentious..food is good and the service is amazing...I always meet someone really interesting there...the martinis might be lethal (in a good way)

The famous Rainbow Bar & Grill has excellent food and drinks. I love the atmosphere and it's history. Marilyn Monroe loved the place. The staff is amazing and they make sure you have a memorable experience there. Just a great place to go to. George Vreeland Hill

The Service, Food and atmosphere are amazing!!! A "must see" and "go to" when you're on the Strip!!!

We went here for food & drink, plus a good look around at Lemmy's haunt and the Lair of the Hollywood Vampires. First off our waitress, who was initially all by herself, was absolutely phenomenal. Even though she was rushed off her feet, she didn't let it show and she was so cheerful. I even said at the end that all waitresses should be like her! On entry we asked if it was possible to sit at the Guns N' Roses booth that was used in November Rain and luckily for us, no-one else was sat there, so we were seated there. The drinks hit the mark and the food was delicious. We even had a chat with the chef and learned a few things about what he does to add his twists on things. After the food it was up to the Lair and a full look at all the merch, which is everywhere. Then it was outside to Lemmy's Lounge for a few pictures before we bought a few t-shirts and shot glasses. This was excellent, as so many of our musical heroes have been here before us and left their mark on the place.

Lots of cool memorabilia. Odd ambiance, booth was very dark. Food was plentiful but average at best. Glad we went but probably wouldn't go back.

Was in LA on my own but new a lot of people also around the same weekend, headed over to the Rainbow and ran into so people I know. Sitting around made a bunch of new friends, had some great food, while listening to that 80's rock and roll!

Stopped in here for lunch.. ok.. that's not entirely correct. I wanted to see the memorial to Lemmy. The memorial and mural was great, grateful that we got to see them. Had some fun with Motorhead over the years and its sad to see them gone. Had a Jack and Coke in remembrance . We did order some lunch here and while the food is surprisingly good, on this visit the service was not. It wasn't very busy and we waited a very long time. We were just about to leave when it arrived 45 minutes later. Glad we waited it out as the Philly Cheese Steak and the Chicken Club was great. The atmosphere and the food made up for the wait and we a memorable time here. If you're a rock fan this is a must visit when in Hollywood.

If I had the time I would have spent all day and night here. So much music history on teh walls. Great food and amazing value.

Ok, well it wasn't entirely atrocious, the meal I selected was ok. However, that's where the fun and games ended. When we first arrived we spent a few minutes attempting to attract the attention of someone... anyone. There was a lady behind the bar so I went in and said hello, she grunted something (inaudible) in response, spun around and walked away. Woah! So in order to get some type of service here, you have to demand, and I hate having to do that. I get the feeling you have to 'earn your stripes' here as a customer, otherwise you'll generally be treated like trash. If you want to still visit this establishment, put on a suit of armour and get ready for battle :)

This is the place to pay homage to the great man - Mr Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. Look at the memorabilia, see the plaque where he sat, take a selfie with his statue, and raise a glass!

This is a very cool restaurant/bar, but the food is also outstanding. Get the mozzarella sticks as an App. Best I’ve ever had. Pizza is also great. Valet parking for $10 is worth it as well. Must stop in W. Hollywood.

I flew to see my best friend for my birthday in Cali. We called the week prior to ask about the Marilyn Monroe table and if we had to make reservations for that table. We were informed that we could call the day prior or the day of and they can make sure they have it available. We called and also called on the way there. Told them we’d be there in 25 min. We get there and Jesus Christ the guy at the front was rude as hell. He said he just sat a big party. (The same size as ours) down and he put them at that table. Even though there was a reserved sign in it. He was rude and we explained to him that we called ahead of time and that I came all the way from Kansas just so I can eat there for my birthday at that table. He just said well you can sit there that’s all I can do. Seriously. We called and let you know we were coming wth. We sat down and we were getting mad so we got up and left. Not one have a nice day nothing. We were not even greeted when we walked in the door. He just acted like he didn’t want to be there. It was crappy and so was his service. The waitress that was new was awesome and even asked us if we wanted to wait for the table. But at that pint I was done!! I was pissed off. That was my last night in Cali and I’m a huge Marilyn fan. That really broke my spirit. The guy at the front really needs to get his attitude in check bc he is dealing with customers all day and if he don’t like it he may want to find another career path!!!!! That is sad to treat ppl and make them feel so unwelcome. Not a good look rainbow bar and grill

We go there quite often and eat when we are in West Hollywood, as the chicken soup is absolutely mazing and the steaks are also amazing. The place has a real cool vibe outside and can get very busy inside. Make sure you go in and book at table as soon as you know when you wanna eat. One of my favourite place in the world to chill, drink and eat.

This bar is witness to the beginning and consolidation of glam and hard rock of the 80's and 90's. It is a must-see stop for those of us who have a rock soul. The prices are OK and the food is good. The attention of our waitress was horrible. He never looked at us when we wanted to order, he didn't remove any dirty plates or glasses, he gave us a horrible table and, when we asked him to change to a better unoccupied one, he got angry. Finally, when I asked him how he preferred that I pay him the tip (cash or card) he told me “do you really think I gave you good service?”, which shows that he was aware of how bad his job was. Anyway, you have to go at least once.

An Icon of the Sunset Strip! I have been coming here since the mid 70's (with a fake ID of course). They have amazingly good pizza! It's a quick walk from my office so not bad for a lunch hour. Sure it's touristy but in the best Rock n Roll kinda way.

As a big guns n roses fan i was really excited about visiting this place. Albeit my preferred option of whisky a go go was out of bounds as it was closed. Nevertheless my brother and I headed over excited, and planned on having a few beers and food at the location. Upon entering we sat on our bar stools, and ordered our beers. Any effort made by us to engage in conversation with the 'lady' behind the bar was met with general coldness. We were extremely interested to know more about tje history of this place, but learned nothing other than we obviously didn't fit it and weren't particularly welcome as we didn't appear to 'look the part'. I made my mind up pretty quickly that the place didn't deserve our custom, and this decision was compounded further when the trollop behind the bar made an insulting comment relating to my brother when he got up to go to the toilet. She didn't have the courage to say it to his face, it was just a cheap comment, but unfortunately for her, I over heard what was said. When challenged, there was no apology, just denial. I paid the bill, gave her a peace of my mind, and left the dump. Ironically, whilst waiting for a bus to go to another location, we struck up a converaton win a homeless man on a bus stop, you know, the ones your advised to stay away from. Lovely, warm, genuine person that had just fallen on hard times. Everything that the trollop behind the bar wasn't Just for reference here's a photo of her. As you can see, she cant be mistaken that we were trying to chat her up.

Rainbow Room is legendary for all of the Rock Musicians who have sat in these bars- walked these floors! And you can still see musicians hanging here after shows- this past week members of the Tribute Acts and host Katie Daryl were there after performing at the WHiskey- Before it was the Rainbow Room it was the Villa Nova restaurant and Marilyn Monroe and Joe DimAggio met there on a blind date... so much great stuff here!! Order the pizza-soak in the history and who knows who you MAY see.. Service can be hit or miss - but hey who;s in a hurry... you came here for the experience! I didn't give it five starts for FineDining I gave it stars because in LA some great history is torn down like yesterdays news but this place fortunately lives on and you don't need special access to go!!

i went here actually for the first time back it 2014 & had a drink with lemmy & ron jeremy, also got invited to party with cypress hill for b-reals birthday which was cool, last time i went they MC sercurity on the door they were cool dudes also, got a free drink on entry bar staff are very friendly and talkative, i had a great couple of nights here i dont suppose its changed much, just that lemmys gone and i guess its not quite the same.

A must-visit place for an authentic rock ‘n roll experience on Sunset Boulevard. The place just oozes music history from its walls and floors. Great food and very good value too.

Visited the Iconic Rainbow while in LA. The staff are ultra friendly, informative and efficient. Drinks are about average for a bar in the area. Didn't eat but the food that was coming out if the kitchen looked good. Being a huge Motorhead fan It was nice to see the job they have done with a Lemmy homage theme in the patio bar. A must see if your in LA

Recently went to The Rainbow and it was like going to rock n roll mecca. As an easy coaster I'd long heard stories about the rainbow in Hollywood and a few weeks ago I finally got to experience it! Staff were super friendly and accommodating every time we stopped in (once to buy merch and once to eat) drinks were delicious and food was very good. I ordered a pizza, my friend ordered the sliders and we got the fried mozzarella to share. All were very good, the medium pizza was perfect to eat a slice and bring home the left overs to our Air BNB. I also should mention the atmosphere, we went at different times of the day each time once when we were the only people eating inside so we could look at and take pictures of everything on the walls, and another time during peak dining/hang hours. If you are someone that is going to the rainbow to sit in a specific booth or look at all the memorabilia on the walls I recommend going early during the week, we sat in the Guns n Roses booth no problem. Also definitely enjoy a drink outside in the Lemmy Lounge!

The attitude of unworthiness from the staff was disgusting...and the food even worse. I think they all are trying to be noticed as rockstars and need to look into the mirror and remind themselves that they are in the serving industry!

Couldn’t miss this off a day off in LA look around. Amazing place, lots to see and discuss. The guys and I were well looked after by our server Brooke. Food was ok, drinks were ok too. Amazing vibe and place though.

This is great for Rock music lovers. Lots of photos and memorabilia around. It was dark and atmospheric, just as it should be. That would be enough but the food and service was also great. One ticked off my bucket list Thank you Rainbow

My husband wanted to visit this place for its history and to see the Lemmy statue. As for me, I was hungry and in need of a cold beer... We ordered chicken nachos and a couple of beers. The beers were cold, the nachos were tasty and the service was good. My husband got his picture with the Lemmy statue (and took many more pics of the various paraphernalia)so we both left happy.

I did not eat here I just went for drinks but it’s such an iconic and cool place to visit especially if you’re a fan of rock music duh

Well looked after by the staff who looked after me well whilst I was on the hunt for Guns n Roses/Crue history. Had some good beers, sat in Lemmy's Lounge (RIP Lemmy) - worth a look for its rock pedigree, good food and service

This was a pilgrimage for me to pay homage to Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. It's like a museum for rock and metal fans , so much history on the walls with pictures and all sorts of memorabilia. The food choice was very wide and the quality of the food was really very good !

Popped in here a few times whilst in LA. Good boozer if you're into rock music, always seems there are locals to get chatting too. Statue of Lemmy and the Lemmy lounge seem to be the main attraction as is the signed merchandise in the restaurant. If you are lucky might see the odd rock star hanging around, singer from Puddle of Mud was in the time I went, friendly enough chap.

Despite having jet lag, this bar was great and friendly and I would recommend over other bars in the area. Myself and my mate were made welcome by staff and customers.Thank you

We went here for an impromptu birthday dinner, and found ourselves in one of the best bars we’ve ever been to. What an incredible atmosphere, and sense of history. The service was top drawer, and the food was good quality. We’re gutted that we were only in town for one night, because we definitely want to come back for more! An absolute must if you’re in the area.

So much rock history here. I had to just come and breathe it all in. While I was here we had the pizza and the chicken Philly steak. Not just a cool rock bar but their food is on point too. You won't be disappointed!

Rainbow Bar & Grill is not a place you arrive by chance. If you want to go, it's because you know it's the Mecca of the Rockers. Over the last few decades all the most famous bands have gone through Rainbow (and the nearby Whisky a Go Go). Obviously I went there for that and he couldn't disappoint me. The place is exactly as I thought it would be: decadent, not spotless and a bit messy. But that's its beauty, in the end you really breathe a healthy Rock atmosphere. It starts from the outside, where legions of fans have patiently carved the names of their favorite bands into the bricks of the venue. The veranda of the place is dominated by the presence of the statue of Lemmy, the singer of Motorhead who spent much of his time here playing with slot machines. The interior of the place is a sort of Hard Rock Café, full of photographs and legendary memorabilia of rock, especially of Californian Heavy Metal. To complete the experience I had a pizza (there are not many dishes on the menu) with chicken and barbecue sauce, just to give me a shock, yet it must have been the long walk, it must have been the atmosphere, but it was good, as well as the beer we drank on it. The surprise is the prices, absolutely reasonable if we think we are in one of the “hot spots” of Los Angeles. The girl who served us was very friendly and knowledgeable, and even made us a little 'guide inside the place. A must if you are a Rock and Roll lover. It may be a tourist trap, but it is much less so than other iconic places in Los Angeles. Rock’n Roll rules!

I love metal. I always have. I’m 52 and Motörhead are part of my life. I’ve seen them loads, met them and was a Motorheadbanger .... google it! Metal of the 80s .... great! In fact metal and rock .... great. So meeting a yank mate at the Rainbow, after checking out apartments that Crue, Roses and Lemmy lived in.... just cool. So after you have viewed the statue and pictures of Lemmy and soaked up the atmosphere of an iconic venue this review should be good. Nope .... surly barmaids who act as if they are gods gift .... ladies you really are not all that! You wouldn’t know what Motörhead and metal mean to people if it bit your ..... 9 dollars for a bottle of beer. I live in London and thought that was bad ..... Absolutely awful music! But worst of all it feels like it’s lost it’s way ... not what I expected .... dull, touristy and not the edgy, raucous, loud and special place it should be. Do I want to go again yes .... as I hope I’m wrong and it is me that’s missing something .... but I won’t because it won’t change. Sometimes visiting iconic places from your youth just ain’t worth it.

New Years Eve and we were there at 5 PM so we could have a cigar before we went to the Whiskey. You can feel the history here from the relics, posters and current celebs that still come for dinner or drinks. Service was excellent. Ambiance was great. Rock music throughout. The food, well the food was good.. We started with salads and the clam chowder. The salad was good a crispy. The chowder was thin on clams but reasonably good. I had the NY Strip. The steak came medium rare and perfectly cooked. Very good flavor and easy to cut but not butter. The twice baked potato was disappointing. Basically half a baker, the small half. Others that had the baked potato were much happier. Now here is the weird part. The steak came with about three cups of canned peas. Mushy, tasteless canned peas and a lot of them. I ended up dumping them in a side plate because they overfilled the plate. Very odd choice. Others had the chicken and ribs plate. Large portion of chicken and a third rack of ribs both very good. The fired shrimp also looked good. Valet parking.

Absolutely great location - the food is great and exactly what you would expect. It tastes twice as good in this ambience.

This is an awesome bar with so much history especially if you love rock music, the food also smells beyond amazing.

I didn't eat here - was on a rock n roll pilgrimage and wanted to drink the place dry. For my first taste of beer in LA, I thought it was expensive, but found out that it was pretty standard. Cool place to hang out and, if you know the history of this place, well worth hanging out in.

Yes, I love the history and the Lemmy connection and the whole rock link, but this place offers more. I went in on a Tuesday night for drinks with my daughter and she decided that we would eat there the following night, having originally planned for us to go to Barton G’s on L.A. Cienega. On the Wednesday night we got in there about 4.30pm and didn’t leave till much later after great drinks, too much food and great company. The staff in Lemmy’s bar are great. I’m sorry I don’t remember the name of the great girl with fantastic tattoos who served us. Thanks.

The Rainbow is definately the coolest place ever to visit if you are into hardrock and rock & roll. History wise the no 1 spot where all the 80’s stars and glam visited and you still feel the vibe strongly as the decor is filled with pictures and stuff. Bands and celebs still visit. Make a reservation inside and share a large pizza. Just gaze and enjoy the playlist and top it off at the bar outside which is now ‘Lemmy’s lounge’ complete with a statue of the great man.

The Rainbow is always my first stop for food and drinks in LA. Loads of music history. Pizza and hot chicken strips are the best!

My partner and I had been recommended to visit because of the history of the bar. However, particularly given all of the hype, we were unimpressed. Parking is $10 - some guys smoking out the front of the bar offer a 'valet service' and drive the car to the back of the building. Our waitress took our order incorrectly, and when delivering the food just threw the plate down on the table and carried on walking. The food itself was average - we had the meat tortellini. When the bill came it wasn't itemised so it was tricky to check whether everything was correct. When we went to leave, we couldn't find the smoking valet guys so had to wait around to get our car. Definitely wouldn't go back.

What a experience !! Best place to party at for sure !! Walked in 3 minutes later after talking to some locals we find out that the manager Anthony grew up 10 minutes from our home town in Ohio "330" !! AkA skin the bartender was the best along with the rest of the crew !! And was great partying with Wes from puddle of mudd !! If I could put 10 stars in I would !!

A great spot to hang out and have a few drinks. Eddie Trunk was recording a radio show when we arrived. The place was busy, and the staff was friendly. Would pass on ordering a pizza, ours was horrible.

A visit to the Rainbow Bar and Grill has been on my bucket list since the early 90s. Finally got to visit on a recent family trip.to LA. It was as I'd hoped. Steeped in history with excellent service and top quality food.

The new Management is destroying the Rainbow , don't play Rock music the Food that was the best is now Horrible and Over priced and the Manager said he has no use for the regulars ( old people ) he calls the Rockets who grew up there and loved the place and made it what it iwas. The Rainbow doesn't won't 50 year olds there how Horrible is that. . And the famous Brown bread and all the great bread Gone , not a Rock place anymore , just stupid average Restaurant that plays disco

If you want rock & roll history, this bar is maybe the best in the world for it! Golden records on the walls, celebrity musicians coming in for a meal, and more!

Went here as my son is a big Motörhead fan and we were not disappointed!! What a place , great staff , great service ! Can see why Lem spent so much time here JUST GO THERE !!!!

Definitely worth a visit for the decour and jukebox ,so many famous musicians have been here although we only saw one almost famous singer from England ,Loved the atmosphere ,great place !

Been on my bucket list to visit the rainbow for years and it disappoint (even on a Monday lunchtime), great beers , pizza and atmosphere. Made a guy from London, England very happy - I'll be back to this legendary place ♠️🤘🏼❤️

We loved the chillness of the atmosphere and staff! We had to visit this place because of its amazing history with the LA rock scene, and it doesn't hurt the food is terrific as well. Definitely will come back again!

We stumbled across this bar accidentally after trying to eat at Wiskey a go go (was all closed up) . We asked if suitable to families and we were told of course and were welcomed in. My son (13 year old Rock fan) found the place great. Our server (forgot to get her name) was lovely. She told us lots of interesting facts when she learned my son was a Guns N Roses fan. She even went out of her way to find out when Whiskey a go go would be open for us. Food was really tasty (and huge portions!) best mozzarella sticks (well cubes) Ive ever had. Lots of interesting photos and memorabilia from rock starts who have dined there. A definite must visit for any rock fans.

Went for food here before a gig at the Whiskey. My first visit and well worth it however I would suggest going for just a drink. I had the nachos with chicken. A good portion size but the food was cold. Service was also pretty poor. The bar area is much better. Good atmosphere and the Lemmy statue.

I am a hair metal and metal fan, and it’s been a dream to see where my metal heroes hung out. Well, the dream was a nightmare. I went in, and waited forever to be seated. My guess is it was because I was solo. Then the dark-skinned, short-haired blond told me I had to go to the bar because they only could seat the reservations and groups in the front. So I went to the back to take pictures, and the same hostess told me to “Make room for the reservationists.” I was done. The 2-Star rating is because the bartender was so kind and welcoming, unlike that stanky, rank-a@@ hostess. Dark-Skinned blond lady, you KNOW who you are.

I wanted to visit the place to see the place many of my favorite bands frequented in the 80s and Lemmy continued to do until his end. I was especially anxious to see the fruit machine and the seat that was reserved to Lemmy for life (back in 2015). Apparently a life long reservation is less than 8 years to them. However, there was a lot of Lemmy and Motörhead related pictures around the place. Also, other legendry bands were well covered. Food and drinks are very expensive! Place was quite empty on a Friday evening at 7pm but started to get full soon after.

The Manager is Destroying what made the Rainbow once a Great place. He has turned it into just another boring place , And took away everything that made it special. And now the Manager is trying to make it a hip hop club for the young only. So very sad ,now it's just another bar what made it special is gone And the special people who went there are gone, they made it special and gave it character. But the new manager doesn't won't the regulars anymore .They made it special . Who hired this guy I won't go back unless he gone. And then it can go back to being a Real Rock Roll Club . .

Classic Sunset Strip bar and restaurant. Great rock & roll history of clientele, most notably Lemmy from Motorhead. Good hard rock on the sound system and juke box available. Great pics from musicians that used to frequent the place. Definitely has the 80's rock vibe. Just had beers but wow...$12 for a Rolling Rock? ($3-4 at home) . $20 for a shot of Jamo, no thanks. I bought 4 beers(buying a round for friends) and my tab was about $46.00. Cool for a visit if you want to have one or 2 to say you had one at the Rainbow or there to see a band but not if you're not making rock star $$.

Terrible service! It took them 20 minutes to take our order and 45 more minutes to bring a pizza. I do not recommend this place at all

I've just read the numerous bad reviews on rude and insulting staff and can also add to it. We went on a Monday night around 8pm, not many people there. The waitress couldn't give a damm and when my wife said "I think I'll have the lasagna" .... her reply was "you think or you will". I managed to get her back 30mins later for drinks which was then put down on the table without a word said. Trying to get her back for the cheque was impossible so we went to the desk, nobody would service us there until she was found 10mins later. Such a let down, all that rock history but would never go back again!

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and drinks only to be refused entry, very disappointing as a person I was travelling with is a huge rock fan and this was going to be one of her highlights of travelling to the US from Ireland! From the bad reviews I’ve read I truly believe them now. Very disappointing

Came here for lunch as we wanted to say we'd visited. We opted for sandwiches one with fries and one with salad. The salad was basic but whose bothered just for lunch?! I was really enjoying my Philly cheese steak sandwich and got half way through when I found a hair in it. I must admit it knocked me sick. It defo wasn't mine as I had to pull it out of the sandwich. I told the waitress and she was nice about it and apologised, offering us a free portion of fries to go. We were too full so we didn't accept. It's a shame as the food was nice and we were enjoying being there. I would come back at night but maybe just for drinks.

So let me set your expectations. This place has been on Sunset for a long time and playing great rock music and serving incredible food!. The food has a little of everything, and I've never had a bad meal. I drive 3 hours for the stuffed mushrooms alone! The pizza, salads, pasta, all yummy! The decor is dated, but you go there for the food and music. Upstairs (3rd floor) is another bar and live bands on weekends. This is a truly enjoyable Hollywood bar, but don't come here expecting something trendy....it's not that.

Another must-visit on the Sunset Strip if you are into Rock music. Good atmosphere, fair service. Would definitely come back

I had to visit this place as a pilgrimage to Lemmy, the one time leader of the rock band Motorhead. This was his local & favourite bar in LA and they have a monument to him in an area of the bar called Lemmy's Lounge which is off to the side of the main building. The Rainbow has been around for a number of years but will always be associated with Lemmy cause he spent so much time there with the fans & other Rock stars. It is sad that he is no longer with us but this place is a good tribute to his life in LA. A must vist place for the fans with decent food and friendly staff.

I really can't add much to what others have said, but I'll try. Got there about 11:30am on a Friday, had wings, beers & a few Jack's. Being from Wisconsin it was nice to sit in the outside bar and some warmth. On the day I was there there were people and ownership discussing and making plans for the upcoming party commemorating the 1st anniversary of Lemmy's passing - QUITE the interesting bar talk. Came back later that night (around 10pm) and of course the place was packed. Lucky enough for me, the guy sitting in Lemmy's old spot at the end end of the outside bar got up to leave as I ordered my drink - so I plopped my butt down...IN LEMMY'S OLD SPOT - it was awesome! The ambiance and history is almost overwhelming. Anybody who is anybody in R&R has been there and they've got pictures and memorabilia to prove it. Even saw a few famous faces during my stint there. Will definitely return.

My husbands bucket list restaurant and he was in seven heaven. Cool Fancy interiör and on top, supernice waitress and supertasty pizzas. The band was a lovely surprise to Enjoy after a great meal. Thanks

I came there because Lemmy, you know; but it does have a special ambiance anyway: people were nice, I had a surrealistic chat with a cool drunk guy about motorbikes accidents, Styx and whatnot. I sipped my Jack n' coke and it felt just swell, I'd go there again anytime. Long live Rock n' Roll !!

The best bar, restaurant and club in America in the 60's, 70's,80's and 90's.. A place to go to every night. No need to get married and have children. The prices were cheap, the food was great and they prepared meals specially for the regulars. It's not the same without Tony, Michael, Mario, Mario junior, and Miguel. the best dish was Renaldo's special.

In all honestly, if you’re heading out to dinner you’ll find a better place to eat for a similar or better price. However, if you want to hang out with a beer or a Jack and check out the music memorabilia adjourning the walls this is the place. The Rainbow holds a place in Rock & Roll folklore so if that’s your thing make sure you stop by to soak up the atmosphere.

My husband and I had stopped in here before a few years ago and actually had lunch which was pretty good. This year we stopped in before a concert down at Whiskey a-go-go, and we sat outside under awning type thing Not a fan people were allowed to smoke in that area. Great people-watching and the inside is a little dark, bathrooms a little rough. But if you're in the area, going to see a concert you have to stop in

We were in LA and heard this place has good music. When we pulled up, I nearly asked our driver to keep going. It looked like a biker bar ( and it was wearing a white lace silk dress). Inside things were amazing. The service team warm and gracious. We had a booth (very quiet)and were seated directly across from a famous rocker. It was fun “people watching” the ladies drool over this guy. The food was simple and fine (if you’re a foodie- look elsewhere). We optimize our dining experience for atmosphere and we were very pleased.

The place to be where legions choose to hang out - everyone in R and Roll history who came to LA has hung out here Zeppelin Boys still have a table reserved

As a life-long rock fan, The ‘Bow was somewhere I had to check out and I went knowing that the food was pricey and that the staff were not always on the friendly side; and it lives up to its reputation! Whilst I’m glad I went to see some of the pics/memorabilia from back in the day, I didn’t get the warmest of welcomes and the food and beer was well over-priced and just on the right side of average. I appreciate they have the nostalgia fact to maintain but the place inside is really tacky with the fairy lights and ink-jet printed signs. I was hoping for a little more. If you’re an 80s rock fan, go for a beer, look at the pics before it gets too busy then eat elsewhere. Your wallet and taste buds will thank you for it later...

This place is definitely one of a kind! Feels like the OG Hard Rock. It’s filled with original rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia and posters, making it a must-visit for music lovers. The atmosphere is really cool, and while we visited around 6 PM, you could tell it probably gets even livelier later in the evening. The staff was super nice, and our server was beyond friendly—she took the time to explain things and had such a great energy that made the experience even better. There are multiple rooms to explore, which adds to the fun, and the whole space has a great, laid-back vibe. If you’re into music and looking for a fun, unique place to check out, this is definitely worth a visit!

So much history at this place, the food is great and you never know just who you might run into. This is the happening place to be.

Great place an good food, gets very busy at weekend nights, so be early or have reservation. There was little cold night during December when we visited and it was quite cold inside (probably problem only few times a year). Food was great and service fast. Lot's of tourists just roaming around the place not ordering anything.

Came in here by accident, and the bunny found out that Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio had met here, eating spaghetti. And now you can book that same table and, yes, they still do the spaghetti. There are many photographs of famous personalities who have been here. Here, a man said hello to me, and later I found out it was famous porn actor Ronald Jeremy Hyett. So the concentration of stars here is off the scale! Great place!

One member of staff at Lemmy’s Lounge at about 5pm on Thursday May 22 was pretty cold initially - and then was overheard insulting me to regular customers. I’d done nothing but be very polite and inquisitive. The irony is that I met a homeless man shortly after leaving the bar, and he was far more friendly, welcoming & engaging. Perhaps mine was a rare experience, but that one lady behind the bar completely ruined something I’d been immensely looking forward to.

This was the best place before the new management took over, the food now is so bad , and the staff iwas not nice and the manager got upset with us because we asked for bread . The use to have the best french and brown bread , now we can't have bread with our dinner . Manager was nasty about it and told us to go eat somewhere else . Don't think 8 go back tell they get new help and bring bread back

Fan of a lot of other music, but Lemmy was a favorite character - liked the music too. So when I had to transport my don and a dozen wet paintings to a gallery show, I said we must stop!! Lemmy Lounge is a hoot. Inside the walls are covered with great memorabilia. Food was so-so, son liked my crispy fries (he kept getting soggy ones at our other stops on the road). Service was a little slow, but then we stopped late for lunch and too early for dinner. But caught in the middle gave us a discount on the food! ;-) Good stop for any Rock & Roller on the classic Sunset Strip!

If I could just pin Eric down long enough to say two words... He's a manager and I know he wants to bring it back to the way it was before it got taken over by "the '80s has been gone to seed/we all look like Barney rubble now, club" So anyone who reads this if should be so lucky as to get a 5-minute conversation with the manager. . . >Please show him my previous review

Came here for the rock n roll history, was pretty quiet as it was a mid week lunchtime but still a few people in for lunch. We shared some nachos and they were good, tastier than the Margaritaville ones we’d had in Vegas the week prior.

Great atmosphere fantastic music history, good food, friendly staff, spent some time here on a quiet Monday afternoon and had a good time,

Loved it here and, despite this being our 5th visit to LA, it was our first time here! Lots of music memorabilia and Lemmy’s old haunt from Motörhead! Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed my visit to the Rainbow. I've been wanting to go here for years and I finally got my chance. The pizza was excellent and the calamari was pretty good too. Music upstairs was outstanding. Don't expect any sort of posh experience at the Rainbow, it's sort of grungy, but the experience is one you won't forget! Highly recommended!

This was a must stop for us, or son loves the band Motorhead so we had to stop here so he could see Lemmy's favorite hangout. He even got to sit in Lemmy's favorite chair!

Honestly, the Rainbow has been my Disneyland since I was in my early 20's. It's always fun and you just never know who will be there enjoying the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Even if I don't have a show to attend when I'm visiting WeHo, I love hanging out at the Rainbow!

We always stop by the Rainbow when we are in town. This time, we ate lunch, and once again, we were not disappointed. Food was very good. Service was great, even though the place was packed. We ate on Lemmy's patio. If you go at night you need to visit the inside bar and upstairs bar for a great time.

I was dragged here several times by friends to this 1950s holdover Style Bar and Grill. Basically a hangout for one to be looser rockstars and occasionally are real one. The food sucks. It can be difficult to get into especially on weekends and frankly just not worth the trouble

Had waited many years to visit the home of Lemmy Kilminster, travelled over 10,000 miles from Ireland 🇮🇪 What a great place for Lemmy and all metal fans, lots of memorabilia and murals on the walls, Lemmy furniture including his unchanged bar stool which the guy on it had no issue moving for a photo and of course the King Lemmy statue, great music of course. Only slight downside was barmaid on night was not very welcoming even though I had Motorhead shirt on. Friendly crowd, one who said history lives here for metal fans, bought Lemmy t-shirt of course, must for rock and metal fans, will always treasure making it there

They don’t have any drink menu and they charge you 9$ the Corona (and 10$ a few minutes later...?) A big JOKE!!!

Always read about the rainbow. Well we went there. Bar was cool. The Lemmy bar was great. The statute of lemmy is worth the trip alone. Food is ok at best. The DIO band was having dinner there with Tim Ripper Owens from Judas Priest fame. Always stars in there. I’d say have s drink and hang out if your in town.

You can not go to WEHO without a visit. Like a celebration of msic in every booth. Good prices, good bands playing in the balcony. Cool Musicians hanging out. Hope to return.

I've been going here as a last resort for over 30 years, but the "rockers" love this place. As an aged rocker myself, I also understand the "yeah, whatever" attitude of Rainbow wait staff, food and drink quality. To rub elbows with 3rd tier musicians, great! For a destination dining, meh...

Always fun and never disappoints! We’ve had fun, danced and met some amazing people. A must do in LA.

It’s 20 years since I was last here. What a disappointment this time around. Miserable staff and over priced drinks. 17 dollars for a pint and G&T. The tonic wasnt even from a bottle. The Lemmy Lounge is a disgrace. Nothing more than a marketing tool. Shame on you.

My partner and I ordered a drink ~30mins prior to closing. Shortly after, we were asked to move outside as the closing time approached (which we found reasonable). Not even a minute later, she and I were out on the patio and two staff members approached us somewhere aggressively. We engaged in a brief conversation (still sober) about how the bar was closing shortly, we understood this and we were beginning to finish our drinks. Completely unnecessarily our drinks were then pulled out from our hands by the staff members - like ripped out of our hands (literally less than a minute later, and spilt on us in the process). I have never been treated like this in my life. I honestly can't believe the staff members (not even security) would behave so irrationaly. We won't return, cant recommend this place, sorry. Can't comprehend how instantly people were so rude to us (as bills were paid and no more tips were to be had). I have never had drinks forcebaly removed from our hands without warning ever in my life before.

I visit this awesome spot a couple of times every time I visit LA. The best rock venue in America 🤘🏼good food, killer music, service is good and interior is a visual treat of rock memorabilia. I absolutely love it there!

It’s my favorite place to eat in California ! The managers and staff are amazing and always make sure people have a great safe experience . They have great rare beers like Iron Maiden and Megadeth brews ! Bloody Mary’s are amazing as well. So many great things on menu but my favorite it jalapeño shrimp dish. Good people watching and great music always playing. They take reservations so if you can do that and you won’t have to wait . You also never know who you might run into there

Let's start off by saying the food is amazing ! It's so consistent and flavorful ! We go often and have tried all menu items . It's not just the food it's the atmosphere and service as well that give it a high mark

Always had a burger at Rainbow room whenever I made it to LA - but this time it was so mediocre I'm not sure I'll come again. The service was great, but the food seemed just careless: the salad was tasteless, the fries limp, the burger far from awsome. Sad, because the place is special.

My friends and I went to Rainbow since Marilyn Monroe used to frequent as well as many other famous people. We sat at the Marilyn Booth and loved it! The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly.

Good burger and crispy fries. A little expensive for a burger but we were on Sunset Strip! Fast service and a very colorful experience. Great decor and vibe.

I’d been planning to spend my 50th Birthday here for 6 months. (Travelled from UK) We ate around 7pm and the place was really quiet so no room for excuses Service was slow Food was ok but fries were raw (cold and hard in the middle) And, despite me wearing a massive ‘it’s my 50th birthday’ badge, not one member of staff wished me happy birthday. I know that may sound petty but it really annoyed me. Ace Von Johnson walked in and it was his birthday too. I know that as the staff were quick to say ‘happy birthday’ etc Guess you have to be a famous rock star...

Visited as a friend of mine wanted to go as he is a big fan of rock music. Friendly staff and he memorabilia inside was very interesting. Many big Rock Stars have visited in the past! James bourne from Busted also came in to eat whilst we were there. Unfortunately the food was average at best. I had a burger which was ok, but the fries were a bit dry and overcooked. Worth a visit for the Nostalgia and maybe better if you fancy a few drinks rather than looking for top quality food.

No one was served any food for over a hour , the place had many West Hollywood GANG MEMBERS , I was scared to stay there for very long . The management has Destroyed this place , they even took the bread off the menu, NO BREAD . .ALL young kids and the dance floor has a band set up in the way so it's hard to dance. How sad

As some other reviewers have stated, this needs to be on your list if you're in LA and a disciple of rock in the 70s and 80s. I'm a keen Motörhead fan so a visit to Lemmy's lounge in the bar was a must. It's not palatial and if you want lots of creature comforts this place won't be for you, but it oozes a grungy rock feel and lived up to my expectations. There is plenty of Lemmy memorabilia and the building next door has a Lemmy mural covering the side of it. The food wasn't great but there was nothing wrong with the drinks, the music and the service. It is very easy to find and we were able to park on the main road just outside. Prior to leaving we bought t-shirts, beer mats and other bits and pieces. I left a happy man.

I haven’t been to the Rainbow since 1983! Still a rock and roll vibe! So awesome! Great beer! Great pizza! So many fun people there. Went there before and after rock show down the street! Waitress went above and beyond, put my pizza in the cooler to come pick up after the show! Unfortunately I forgot when I came back it was so packed I just used the restroom. Great heavy metal vibe!

It's worth the visit for the history and environment. But the service really is horrible. Rudeness is widespread, unfortunately. But it's still worth the visit.

I was in LA for business and checked out the "SUNSET STRIP". Great history all along the strip where Hair Metal ruled in the 80s. I had a great lunch at the Rainbow. The home of Lemmy from Motörhead. If you are a fan of the 80s or just want a great lunch...stop here

Small, dark and old restaurant with interesting photos and memorabilia. A place for locals who tolerate a few outsiders. We ordered food to go, which we enjoyed back at our hotel. We had the chicken piccata, which did not come with pasta, which we thought was odd. The entrees come with soup or salad, potatoes, vegetables and bread. Two of us split an entree because the portions are huge (and expensive).

Being a rock fan since my teens, this was somewhat of a pilgrimage for me. Some of the reviews were less than stellar, so I had limited expectations. Now I am picky with my food. I am also Australian, so the pieces we have to pay are significantly higher than the states. The price of a steak at the Rainbow was in line with what I would pay here. so was not fazed. took a chance and ordered. It was the BEST steak I had the whole time I was in The States, fat and juicy and perfectly cooked. The sides that come with it make the price well worthwhile, sometimes you really do get what you pay for. It was also the first decent serve of veggies I'd had in 2 weeks. Never thought I would be excited to get peas on my plate. Also the first good Margarita I was served the whole visit, 2 for 2! and the staff were fantastic. Friendly, up for a chat as we were in early and the place was quiet. No problems wandering around taking photos, just soaking it all in. The place just oozes history. Will certainly visit again next holiday.

My boyfriend and I are Rock n' Roll fans, Guns n' Roses super fans so we needed to go to this place. I couldn't believe it when we got in that we were actually in there!!!! This place is historic, iconic and it has this cool vibe... The server was suuuuper nice and suggested a few beers for us when we told her what we like. She even brought a small glass for us to try and let her know if that was what we were looking for. Soooooo worth the visit. We got lost in memories there...
Stopped in to take in some Rock and Roll History
Our Uber driver recommended this place and filled us in on the history. My wife was already familiar with it. We just stopped in for a drink just to check it out. The interior is a step back in time. I don't think anything has been changed for years. There are lots of pictures and rock and roll paraphernalia on the walls. The staff were very friendly.
