The concept is to order several small dishes to share. We found the ingredients extremely fresh and well prepared. We had an awesome blue fin tuna sashimi, and foie gras. However, the king crab tasted like it was burnt, and the kobe beef skewer was blend and uninspired. A solid 4 stars!

I made a point to skip the strip and my efforts were well rewarded. Make a reservation, or come early. This place is busy late night. We ordered an assortment from the grill, hot dishes, and specials menu. We had chicken breast wrapped in chicken skin, duck, pork cheek, pork belly, fois gras, asparagus, wagyu. I wish I had room t try everything. I seriously doubt anything would disappoint. Get the fluffy cheese for dessert. Life hanging. P.S. they sell the 4 "condiments" available on the table.

Coming in with the thought that yakitori is just meat / veggies on a skewer, how good can it be? Well i was proven wrong... the pork cheek is good, the enoki bacon is excellent, the beef and the tofu is good too. The tendon is so tender , just a bit more seasoning will make it better. The not so good one is the tsukune ground asajime Chicken , pity, it was recommended by the waitress. The place is a bit small, and i highly recommend to call and make reservation. If not , then better come early.

Haven't been to Raku in awhile and they did not disappoint! We went there after attending a BTS concert so the restaurants in the area were very crowded including Raku. The best part is that they don't overcrowd the restaurant and so the ambience was still great for lovers and dates but also good for friends to get together. The food was spectacular - we had the wagyu, bluefin tuna, yellowtail, enoki mushroom and the baby Barracuda. They were very attentive to make sure that the food was delivered to your table one by one so you can savor each dish. And even though they were crowded, the staff did not rush you and let you enjoy your food and time. Better to call in ahead and reserve since they want you to enjoy your experience which leads to you staying longer so the wait time can be long if you try to walk in.

We walked in (4 of us) and the restaurant was very cold. We asked if there was anyplace less cold and the waitress took us to a table where there was, in addition to the a/c, a fan. We asked if she could turn up the temp a bit or turn off the fan and she said, "yes." She never did. We ordered a selection of dishes to try for the table. When the dishes came, there were 2 or 3 pieces on each plate ... for a table of 4. The waitress never told us. The food was ok... not at all anything special. On numerous occasions we found ourselves looking around for our waitress ... or anybody who worked there. Especially for hot tea... which the waitress would come to the table with a teapot and refill our glasses. But when we said, "just leave the pot" she told us she couldn't because the restaurant has only 1 teapot. How stupid an answer is that? I can usually distinguish between bad service being the fault of management for not properly training their staff or just a bad server. In this case, I couldn't tell. With SO MANY restaurants in this part of town, I have to believe I could have thrown a dart and gotten something better than Raku.

A salad, some eggplant and the pork belly along with a bottle of sake and we were more than happy with our meal for two friends. Service was prompt and courteous. We loved the privacy of our secluded table and the low lighting after the harsh casino lighting was very much welcomed.

Looked forward to this dinner since we made the reservation. Please note restaurant is very strict on honoring the reservations. You only have a 15 minute window. If your not within the 15 minute window of your reservation, they will give your table to someone else. Our meal was delicious. This was our first time. Would I recommend this place? Yes!!! Staff was super friendly and courteous

I last visited Raku four years ago, and was concerned that this visit couldn't live up to the amazing experience I had then, but of course it did. Sublime foods, a full dining experience. We simply go crazy, ordering some of everything! Among the highlights, the Kobe Beef Outside Skirt, the Tsukune-grilled ground Chicken, The Apple Marinated Lamb Chop, The Enoki Mushroom, and the Tofu. As I stated in my 2014 review, make reservations as soon as possible, its very popular. The menu consists of many items served individually, think of a Japanese tapas bar. An amazing selection, I found myself ordering 10-12 items. Be prepared to spend a couple of hours at Raku, as each item comes out separately. Excellent food, good service and reasonably priced.

For a unique dining experience dine at Raku in Las Vegas Chinatown. Reservations have to be made 3-4 weeks in advance. Dinner is served M-S at 6PM, 8PM, and 10PM. Saki, beer, and wine is served at reasonable prices. There is an extensive saki menu. Food items are alacarte unless you order the Chef's selection which is either $75 or $100 depending on the amount of courses. It is well worth the money. The service is very good, and the food is unique and delicious. My sons and I were seated in our own private booth, which was great. It truly is a dining experience you will remember!

Hidden off the beaten track in what is really a strip mall is a true gem. The staff is amazing. So nice and helpful. The menu focuses on small plates and it is NOT a sushi restaurant. The tofu is as fresh as any I’ve ever had. The special appetizer is tuna sashimi was delectable. The chicken, beef, and shrimp dishes were top notch. Huge menu that should satisfy all. This is not a typical Americanized Japanese restaurant. You need to stretch here. Enjoy!

What can be said about Abriya Raku that hasn't already been said? This is a top Japanese restaurant (not just in Vegas, but nationwide) for a reason: the quality is consistently superb and the preparation ideal in every way. In addition to the regular menu, specials ensure that there is always something new to try. The small, always busy restaurant is limited in capacity and is reservations-only most of the time, but once you're inside, your meal is the complete and total focus. Each dish is expertly prepared and presented at the peak of flavor; I have never had anything here that was less than excellent. The staff is helpful and understated, allowing you to enjoy your food in peace. Raku's approach to the menu is small plates, so the best approach is to order a variety of choices, and then if you're still hungry, pick out a few more. Be careful of over-ordering as, despite the small size, the dishes can be surprisingly filling. Although chicken, beef, and pork dominate the menu, don't overlook the vegetables and fish. As I don't eat chicken, beef, or pork, I've sampled the rest of the menu, and there's plenty to enjoy here even if meat isn't your thing. While eating here as a vegetarian is possible, there aren't a lot of options, so be prepared for the few robata vegetables and tofu, as well as salad (all of which are great). My personal favorite dishes are the Raku's Tofu (some of the best tofu I've ever tasted), and the frequent special menu item of crab robata. Well worth a detour from The Strip, this is a the must-experience restaurant that has earned its reputation.

One of the best restaurant in Las Vegas and probably in the US, Raku vision to food is to respect the ingredients and gently bring out their best flavor and maturity, the chef even goes out of his way to show his vision, is to build his own restaurant and addition too, he not only get involved in the building but actually does it himself, the passion that he has is unsurpassed by any others known chef. The food is fresh, bright and delicious, he always surprised me in presenting new dishes to his foodies. If I try to say anything about this restaurant I won’t make him justice but I have to say that however is reading this should be very confident that he will not be disappointed and need to be prepared to have his senses for food challenged. Try this restaurant, you will not stop talking about it.

Bar none, Raku is the best Japanese restaurant I've tried maybe in America, and absolutely while in Vegas. All of the restaurants in Vegas are very grand and busy and well decorated, so that doesny stand out, the food is the real game winner here, fantastic, even when we had such a massive group of men, service was fast and efficient.

We’ve been to Raku several times, but this time, we were very disappointed. We opted for the premium tasting menu & a bottle of wine. We had 9 courses & we only liked 3 of them. It began on a low note, tofu & ended on a low note. Our bill with gratuity was just inside of $500 & wine was $75 of that. We really felt ripped off at the end. Worst $480 we’ve ever spent. The best thing we can say is one of the lady servers got us a taxi after she & I were unsuccessful getting an Uber. We had to wait over a half hour for the taxi, but she couldn’t have been nicer & went outside looking for it for us. Because of her going out of the way for us, I debated about even doing a review, but just thought people need to know Raku has slipped & isn’t anywhere as good as it used to be. Do not recommend.

Came because shown of Bourdain’s series. Ordered the fixed price menu. Being a North American sushi eater (tuna, California rolls), was hesitant but enjoyed most of it. Sometimes you just need to go for it. This was one of those times. Overall great experience.

We would have never stumbled upon this place without google, but I’m so glad we did. We both did the omakase. Every single thing was delicious, and the staff were all so friendly and patient. Definitely recommend this off-the-beaten-path restaurant!!

Love the food and the experience service is always wonderful,we have to eat here every time we come to Vegas

We were a group of 6 and with this size, we had to do the Omakase menu. In the LA location, we can do a la carte, hence took one star off. Location: In a strip mall off Las Vegas strip, has parking lot but can fill up. Decor: typical Japanese decor. Food: Everything was very good. But we were still hunger, so added a few items to the Omakase. The sashimi was amazingly fresh, the foie gras was yummy, and all the grilled items were spot on. My favorite is their house made Oyaji tofu.

This is a hidden gem. Worth the short drive away from thr busy Vegas strip, tucked away in a small shopping center cornor, you enter and get greeted with such enthousiasm in japanese. Welcome! Be open and adventurous, have the waitress advice you what to order. I had wonderful sashimi special, grilled kobe beef, grilled okra, an amazing "cold soup" of poached egg sea urchin and salmon roe. And of course a miso soup, which is one of the best I had a delicious bottle of Sake. Wow what a treat. This is a must ho if you want to be in for a treat. Cozy, friendly and just plain delicious food.

OVERALL: Spent several days trying to get a reservation. $100 omakase hailed as a great success by my group. Nice, tasty, sumptuous and simple dining experience 15mins off-Strip. A good to go for both business and personal events. HIGHLIGHTS: @ $100 Omakase - starts light and low carb (egg, sea urchin and roe dish), here comes seafood (scallop skewers and whole fish), then the meats (grilled Kobe beef skewers), and finally a grilled fois gras on rice. Dessert was Japanese cheese cake. Good taste, good ingredients and filling. @ Low key ambiance - Vegas Strip is a bull horn at times. This place is in a quiet strip mall with simple, traditional Japanese decor TIPS & TRICKS @ Call 2 weeks in advance for reservations. @ Call for reservations when they open as they have time to pick up the phone. When they get busy, all you get is voice mail where the box is full. NOTE: They do not have online reservations. @ Try our there menu - Omakase is fun but we also saw people order ala carte and the dishes looked tasty @ Make sure you arrive on time - they only hold tables for 15 mins.

Raku is not the typical "Japanese sushi" restaurant you find almost anywhere, it is a more restaurant serving more traditional japanese fare in a quiet atmosphere. Their specialty starter is Raku tofu served in huge portions, a bit too bland for my taste though the assortment of spice offered to accompany it was quite helpful. The Kampachi carpaccio was also a bit bland while the sashimi salad, asparagus okaki, and fried chicken were just right. The Hokkaido uni was overwhelmed by the poached egg served with it. Overall it was an interesting place and I shall try it again but with a different assortment of dishes.

I go here just for the Foie Gras skewer. It’s so amazing. Veggies robata is 4-5 bites of food each - 5 bites of asparagus, 4 bites of mushroom - so order more veggies if hungry. Great people and great food!!

This was our second time dining at Raku and it won’t be our last. For the money this is one of the best values for high end dining in the Las Vegas market. The food is consistently interesting, exquisitely prepared and very tasty. The highlight on this visit were the scallop sashimi, the enoki mushrooms wrapped in bacon, the grilled duck with soy glaze and the green tea crème brûlée.

I came here but was not sure what I was getting into, having never had authentic Japanese food. Had heard a lot about the place after having seen it on Anthony Bourdain. We were a group of 4 friends and we ordered the Omakase, pre-fixed menu and boy, weren't we pleased! It was course after course and soon, we lost count. The best tofu I have eaten, the most flavourful mushroom satays, crab and fish. I was never a big fan of raw fish but when it is as fresh as was served in Raku, I changed my mind. Even the salad was most delicious. he service was attentive but not overbearing. Overall, a wonderful experience. However, this place is not cheap and prices are top of the range. We paid so check prices before making reservations!

Simply sublime, to put it simply LOL. I have tried Japanese food in many countries, including Japan, and this restaurant has the best I ever had. The daily specials are highly recommended, as these dishes have the freshest ingredients. Each dish is designed to showcase the ingredients and the expert techniques of the chefs. The service made my foodie experience complete. Our server explained each and every dish when they arrived, and treated us like her own family. Money well spent! We will be back for sure the next time we are in Las Vegas.

I've seen this place featured on TV shows and read about how this is the place where chefs go after hours. I dragged my non-sushi eating husband there and he LOVED it! Said it was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had! I had the Omakase (chef's choice of multi-courses). The dishes were fabulous although the grilled fish was on the bland side and the same fish appeared in another dish. There was a generous portion of Frois gras, which I love! Dessert was fair but by then, I was so full! Highly recommend the scallop in garlic soy and the grilled skirt steak on skewer. Their in-house soy is delicious! Wonderful experience! The place is small so make reservations.

Great restaurant in Spring Mountain... they are open late (until 3am) which is awesome and you'll find a lot of chefs there because of that! I have had both the omakase menu and a la carte. I would recommend the a la carte over omakase. You must order the agedashi tofu and anything on the robota grill section- the pork intestine is amazing!

Very good place. Skewers galore. Wagyu beef was great per my wife. Tofu was pretty darn good, and I usually dislike Tofu. Tomatoes were great. Chicken thigh was not bad per my wife. I had a special of grilled Amberjack served on a plate by large filet. It was cooked just right. Minimally fishy taste. Dipped in the Tofu Sauce, it was especially tasty. My favorite was the ground chicken "ball" on the skewer. It looked and tasted just like what I've had in Japan. I could eat those things all night. The restaurant itself looks like you just walked into a Yakitori place in Tokyo. Dark walls, low light, just like a downstairs restaurant in Japan. If you want something to come out first however, you will need to be specific to the servers b/c otherwise things just come out randomly. For example, we were really done with everything and I commented to my wife, well I guess I'm not going to get the chicken ball, and then it suddenly showed up. So just keep that it mind if you go. If you want your side of rice to come out so you can enjoy it with the meat and tomatoes or whatever, then you need to specify this. Other than forgetting my wife's soda request at the beginning, the servers were good. The cooks greet you and tell you goodbye in a very friendly but Japanese formal way too. Overall, a cool place off the Strip, and I would return.

I went here for my birthday had a wonderful meal with great service. This place is definitely overpriced for what you get but the food was very good I enjoyed myself.

We arrived about an hour before our 10:30 reservations, but they seated us right away. We had the following items: butter fried scallop, pork cheeks, teriyaki ribs, duck in balsamic soy sauce, steamed foie gras egg custard, Kobi style skirt w/ garlic, kurobuta pork cheek and grilled foie gras. All of these items were very good with the exception of two. The duck was okay and the grilled foie grad was to die for. This place is nice for a snack or late night( note the extended hours). But as wonderful as the food was, I don't see myself returning as I like a large amount of food, and this place has small dishes, tapas style. Iced tea was good.

The two of us each got the $100 Omakase. Course after course they consistently delivered delicious and varied flavors. I would definitely recommend

Everything was very good. We had never been there before so I had no idea what to expect.. I will describe it as a tasting experience, a lot of small bites in the order the chef prepares them. If you want to get full it will take a while and the bill keeps going up. My wife and I usually share and the server said the dishes are meant to be shared but the portions are not so get your own. We really did enjoy the meal and the servers were great. There are many reviews of the food here and I agree with them. They open at 6pm and a reservation is a must about a week out to be sure. See you in Vegas.

A small restaurant (in Vegas terms) and off the beaten track but very busy, I understood why after I’d eaten there. The food was absolutely delicious! I’d recommend that you go and eat here (right now! 😊) but book in advance.

Delicious cancer served on skewers and make sure you reserve a spot via a reservation. Stick with the robata for a great grill experience. The restaurant uses pieces of coal as chopstick rests and has menu in both English and Japanese It may take sometime for the food to come out since the food is grilled to order and some meat takes longer to cook than others. There are so many options: some are common and some are exotic like pig intestine, pig ear, pig cheeks, kobe beef tendon My favorites include: - Kobe Beef Fillet with Wasabi - Kobe Beef Outside Skirt with Garlic - Butter Sauteed Scallop with Soy Sauce - Duck with Balsamic Soy Sauce The sake was also a nice touch to the whole experience. After you're done with the skewers, put them in the ceramic cup.

Every tender bit of food was exquisitely prepared and tasted as good as it looked. My surprises were the homemade tofu and the fois gras. My favorites were the meaty skewers!

We went to Raku 2 of the 3 nights we were in Vegas. It's our favorite dining spot and definitely worth the Uber from the Strip. We had the same waitress each time and she was great. The sushi and yakitori was wonderful - as usual! Can't wait to return!

Went to this place because i was in Vegas and Anthony Bourdain had just died. I walked in and ordered the whole Yakatori Menu and some outragously priced saki that was great. I had my wax pen with me and i passed out saki and rips to the whole place... Great experiancE!

Have had my eye on this place for awhile but, could not make it happen on my previous visits to Vegas. Decided to roll the dice on a Saturday morning and called for reservations. It seems they were having phone issues, yep that's an opportunity. Dressed nice and showed up without reservations just after it opened. No problem, had a short 10 minute wait for a table. Ordered the Omakase experience and was thrilled. Basically you leave the meal choices up to the chef and just sit back and enjoy. We had ten courses which were brought out individually by the wait staff who provided an explanation of the food and instructions on how to eat it. Amazing experience and outstanding food and service. About half way through the meal walk-ins were being quoted wait times of 2-3 hours for a table.

Opens late and stays open VERY late. A short, inexpensive ride from The Strip. The preset tasting menu was wonderful. There are several restaurants worth a try in this shopping center and nearby. If you go early enough BE SURE and try their dessert shop in the same shopping center. Sit at the bar at both places and watch the Chefs work, it’s a free show!!

I was looking forward to this dinner based on the high rating, but very disappointed. The service was good, but the dinner last too long (2.5+ hour) due to the wait time between dishes. The waiting killed my appetite. However The biggest problem I had was the food quality. The grill meats were not very fresh and had no meat taste. Most of the grill dishes were NOT hot, but overcooked from the kitchen. For the price I paid, I was expecting much better food. I won't recommend Raku to anyone. Don't waste your $.

It was out second time there, and could only get an 11 o’clock reservation for dinner. We had the same $100 per person “chefs choice” dinner. Several items were identical to a year ago, but overall amount of food is less and quality of food was not as good, especially the seafood part of the meals. Would rate it five stars a year ago. Don’t think we will go back again anytime soon.

Waitstaff was wonderful. The place has a great energy. We had the Omakase and the food was wonderful. The variety was great. The pacing of the different courses was perfect plus we ordered a few items off the menu. Would do it again in a heartbeat. No hard alcohol. Sake, beer and wine.

We went for my son's birthday with a party of 7. Any group 6 or over must get the omakase, which is the chef's tasting menu. Several people in our group do not eat sashimi -- we should have mentioned it ahead of time, as the menu is designed to layer food flavors by course. We thought that we would be able to just add items off the menu to provide them something cooked while we indulged, but apparently that was problematic. The restaurant was able to accomodate them though, and it meant more of the amazing sashimi for the rest of us! The food was awesome. The fish was very fresh, and beautifully presented. Each course was a surprise, and was a treat in itself. We were a little taken aback by the tiny whole crabs that were deep fried, and sat on the plate like they were alive and ready to walk. Even as adventurous eaters, it was difficult to just pop one in your mouth, but luckily my son's friend didn't hesitate, so the rest of us had to follow suit. They were actually tasty! The shells were crunchy and quite delicate. Our squeamish friends couldn't do it, so 4 of us had the crabs meant for 7. We didn't quite finish all of them, but we made a good try at it! The meal was great. I think we had 8 courses --- you kind of lose track because these delectable dishes just keep coming. The service was impeccable. Our unitiated guests enjoyed it -- liking the experience that they never would have taken on their own. My son, the birthday boy, was delighted. All in all, a home run!

Must try!! Delicious food!! Definitely call far ahead in advance for reservations they book up quick!! Make sure you have some time to eat it is a lengthier meal but definitely worth it! Would highly recommend!

We hard about this place from a newspaper in Israel To make the reservation A-T this place YOU have to be genius Buț the food was out of The World All the portion are small Buț extrimly good We realty enjoy the place

I spent a week in Japan a few months back and have been disappointed in the Japanese restaurants I have eaten at in the States. I finally felt like I could have been back in Japan when I ate here. And although I said that it is expensive to eat here, if you order ala carte off of the grill menu, it can be reasonably priced.

We came here on the recommendation of a friend (and food blogger - 2FoodTrippers), and we were blown away. My wife and I shared an assortment of dishes, and everything was very good - not one bad bite in any of them. Of special note: The Hamachi Collar (hama) was spectacular. We live in Seattle, and are used to great fish, prepared well. This was the most exceptional fish dish we have ever eaten. It was rich, fresh, and flavorful. The fish stood on it's own without sauce, and was perfectly seasoned, crisp on the grilled outside, and tender and moist inside. The sauce complimented it well, and did not overpower. We also enjoyed their grilled vegetables, the egg and foi gras custard (rich but not cloying or heavy), and their beef and chicken dishes. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. We also found it a good value relative to other dining options in Vegas. This is a must-do if you are eating in Vegas and want to get off the strip. Parking is a bit tight in the lot for their strip-mall, so if you can Uber or taxi, do it. Otherwise, just be patient and you will find a place to park.

We went there for my birthday dinner during our Vegas vacation trip. The sake and Japanese beer list is very impressive to start with. After ordering the drinks we ordered the premium omakase and what a treat we had! The tofu, the foie gras, the fried fish just to name a few were so good. Service was great but you probably need reservation before hand. Definitely a very good alternative to the more expensive Japanese restaurants at the strip.

One friend recommended this place. It is tinny and not in a place where you would think you could find a great place like Raku It was awesome! The desserts are very refined and creative It is very very sweet so make sure you eat light before coming to Raku

If you want to experience unusual culinary skill, flavors and presentation then you must go to Raku. No pretense and unrequired opulence...just the real deal...an unbelievably great culinary experience that is friendly to the wallet and the soul. Cheers

I've never been a big fan of tofu, until I went to Raku and tried theirs! The food we had, various skewers and apps, was delicious. The tofu, miso soup, and ribs being the most memorable for me. They make all of their condiments too and it was fun experimenting with the flavors. The staff was so friendly and pleasant and the whole vibe in the restaurant was happy and welcoming. We also really enjoyed their tea. I'd love to go back!

Wagyu was insane. We got the chef's course and everything was insanely good also, but the wagyu was definitely our highlight. Definitely not something we can get often because of the price tag, but worth it for special occasions. The service was great, parking not too bad, inside was very nice.

Foodie-heaven. To be honest, I was a bit concerned that this was was going to be overhyped, but it lived up to its reputation. My interest was obviously piqued by Anthony Bourdain, and made a reservation to eat here for dinner (no lunch times available) via the phone (can’t make one online). Raku is located in a nondescript strip mall with a small parking lot. It’s open for indoor dining during covid, which I felt a bit wary about since I would’ve preferred outdoor dining (not available), but there are a lot of private rooms so you can stay away from other parties. Food-wise, I know a lot of people opt for the Omakasse (cheapest one is $100/pp) but if you opt for about 4-5 dishes a person, I think you’ll be more than satisfied. The skewers come in one to a plate, so you can customize/add more as need be. Here’s a breakdown of what we ate: Raku Tofu: Must-get. Very soft and one of my favorite dishes of the night. You eat the first bite with the green tea sea salt, and then the rest you add the fish flake/spring onion/ginger/soy sauce as you’d like. Tsukune Chicken: Ground chicken that’s shaped like a real drumstick. Juicy and flavorful. Poached Egg with Hokkaido Uni: I’m not the biggest fan of uni, but well worth it for those who love it (MP / $19 when we went). It tastes like you’re having a bowl of the ocean with an extra pop from the ikura (fish egg). Kobe Beef Liver: Very tender and the sauce was good. Pork Rib: tastes more like a Chinese style BBQ but very soft and good to share. Oyako Bowl: chicken and egg with rice dish - another good option to split with the table. It was pretty filling. Duck: I feel like I’m getting a bit repetitive now, but it’s quite tender. Pork Intestine: flaky yet juicy, my dad ordered a second one after the first. Iberico Pork: Sweet and nicely chewy, but not outstanding. I’d just stick with the pork cheek. Pork Cheek: just the right amount of fat that pops in your mouth without being overly so. Deep-fried chicken: Get two of these for the table and don’t forget to eat the spring greens underneath to ally your guilt about eating the fried skin! Salmon: Standard fish - the skin was nicely fried and it was a good hunk of salmon. Kobe Skirt with Garlic: Solid skewer Inari: I personally love inari, and the rice inside came with mustard greens which was a nice touch. This was a good size and the skin was perfectly soaked in a sweet sauce. Mushroom with Bacon: mushroom stuffed with more mushroom wrapped in bacon - it’s like a mushroom-ception! Came piping hot and I’d get it again. Tldr; if you’re thinking about coming in, just do it. You’ll have a great time.

China town in Las Vegas is totally legit and Raku is my new obsession! One of the highlights included a whole fish from Japan served both steamed and fried. We also had duck, Japanese tender beef and chicken stuffed mushrooms. A must have is the homemade tofu. Don't think square store bought bland tofu. Think fresh creamy goodness served with pickled kelp and peppers. So good!

Every time we come to Vegas, we always visit Kabuto. Yet, we've always seen Raku a few doors down. So this time, we elected to try Raku, and we were definitely not disappointed. The grill items are great for sharing as we were a group of 4. They seated us in one of the back rooms which was nice, and we ordered several items. Standouts included the duck, hamachi, chicken stuffed portabella, and Kobe beef with wasabi. Also, we finished it off with the cheesecake which was sensational. It was so good that we ordered one to take home.

Second time being at Raku, and it was as great as the first. Came on a boys' trip this time. The 4 others hadn't been. Service was impeccable. The waiter was patient while we decided and not overly intrusive during the meal. We decided to forgo the Omakase and just do the ala carte. Pigs Ears, Pork Cheek, Grilled Yellowtail, s Scallops, A5 Mishima Wagyu, Duck, Enoki m Mushrooms Wrapped in Bacon, Bluefin Tuna Sashimi, 4 grilled orders of Foie Gras, and 3 pitchers of ice cold Asahi Draught between 5 for $700. You could do a whole heck of a lot worse than this place. We thoroughly enjoyed it. A nice slice of Japan Izakaya vibe in Vegas.

Super recommended! Extremely delicious, specially everything from the robata grill. Do not miss the home made oyahi tofu and the yellowtail carpaccio as appetizers. The green tea creme brulée was the perfect finish to the dinner!

The favorite was definitely the pork cheek, mushroom wrapped with bacon and the fried chicken. The rest, Kobe with garlic, duck, chicken thigh, iberico pork, and the tofu were good but it wasn’t mind blowing delicious. Service was good.

We really liked this spot. Had the Oyakodon and the mushroom ramen. Spicy cucumber salad was a bit overpriced and edamame was just okay. But overall nice! Japanese owned which feels nice because it’s authentic.

In Vegas, there aren't any shortage of Izakaya style restaurants. Raku is one of the places that stands out from the crowded field and delivers an exceptional food and service. Their Robata grill uses Binchotan (Japanese hard charcoal) and one can taste the difference compared to gas or regular charcoal. The place fills up quickly and they only accept reservations by phone. If you happen to be on a waiting list for 30 minutes or more, I suggest going to Sweets Raku which is just steps away and enjoy some wine before dinner or stand outside and wait for your name to be called. Either way, it's a definite to go place while in Vegas.

What to say about a chef who has so much pride and so passionate about his cuisine, impossible to describe, chef Ando is a culinary success, his ability to transform fresh food in a culinary passion is truly indescribable. The food is fresh, clean and bursting with flavor, the menu is well balanced to tease all palate novice or experienced foodies. Reservation is a must, the inside atmosphere is breathtaking, the bathroom are decorated with its own theme. If you haven’t experienced this restaurant, your truly missing a lot, this is not another Japanese restaurant. Great place to eat and experience true and authentic food from the chef region.

This is extraordinarily! Menn what a surprise. From the moment you step in, you are in a different world. They people here are born to serve you with the best possible genuine service and the a Japanese food i have never experienced. To make your life easy order the Omasaku taster menu. It’s $100 but worth every penny. The oysters with caviar, or the sashimi with fresh wasabi, or just the seasonings and soja sauces on the side, all is an experience. The wagyu beef grilled on hot-stone and flambé or the various skewers its all from another planet. And than the finish, the dessert, a cheesecake i have never had. No words to describe, go there if you can afford. ARIGATO!!

Raku in Las Vegas used to be one of my absolute go-to dining experiences. I have always chosen the Omakase menu during my visits, and before the pandemic, it consistently delivered excellence. Every dish was not only exquisitely prepared in terms of taste, but also presented with thoughtful detail and generous portions. I genuinely considered it worthy of a Michelin star. Unfortunately, my most recent visit about a month ago was a major disappointment. Many of the signature dishes that once defined the Omakase experience were missing. I particularly remember a standout fish course served in multiple preparations — from sashimi to a hot dish crafted from the bones and meat — a truly refined and memorable dish. That is no longer offered. In fact, several of the other signature dishes I had come to look forward to were also absent. What’s worse, the overall experience felt rushed and mechanical. In the past, a full Omakase at Raku would take about three hours, allowing diners to savor and appreciate each course at a relaxed pace. This time, the entire meal was over in barely over an hour. Courses were brought out before we had even finished the one before — a stark contrast to the care and timing I once admired. The price point remains similar, which I understand given rising costs across the industry. However, instead of slashing the quality and pacing of the experience, they should have raised the price to maintain the standard that once made Raku special. Sadly, this will be my last visit. A restaurant that once felt like a hidden gem has lost its soul.

Make a reservation or you will need to stand / sit in the "waiting area" - high top table with chairs. We sat at the bar. 12 skewers - you'll understand once you go. The Kobe Beef with Wasabi cut into tender bite sized pieces was the best steak I've ever had. Each skewer had approximately 4 - 5 bites. We shared the asparagus wrapped in bacon, the Enoki wrapped in bacon, the Kobe beef, duck, pork check, a specialty bowl of something the chefs at the bar gave us, the hammer jack sashimi (melt in your mouth), and Tofu (one cold and one fried). Everything was amazing! The drinks were reasonably priced with a reasonable pour. There were sauces and spices that complimented everything nicely. My only complaint was the Scallop was a little over cooked with too much sauce. I felt the sauce took away from the delicious flavor of the scallop. The restaurant is small, intimate, quiet and calming. Make sure you ask about their daily specials. I would recommend and definitely go back!

There's not a lot of top tier Japanese restaurants in Las Vegas, this is one of them. The service is fast, the food is very good, and the experience is great. I ordered just a few items, the crunchy asparagus, the tofu, the eggplant, eringi mushrooms, and the yellowtail. All great. The asparagus was very unique. It had a crunchy coating, yet the inside was crisp as can be. These words come to mind. Simple. Excellent. Delicious. I recommend getting there at 6PM when they open. I had called to make the reservation a few hours earlier, and was successful. Enjoy!

I live in vegas part-time and have tried to eat at raku for years...but...I was unable to make dinner plans 5 to 10 days in advance... this time I decided to do the wait... oddly enough, I called in the morning and got a reservation for the same evening... when I arrived I was seated immediately and I noticed there was another empty table which I thought was odd... before arriving I checked out the menu online and had a list of what I wanted to eat... I started with tofu salad and sashimi salad which were both very good... the crispy fried asparagus was ok and the juicy deep fried chicken was very good... I had 4 grilled choices...chicken breast with chicken skin, salmon with oroshi, mushroom and direct flamed eggplant... the chicken and salmon were dry and over cooked... I don't know what was with the mushrooms...they were ordinary button mushrooms from the grill... the eggplant was ok... in japan grilled food is quite common and you can lightly smell and taste the flavor... at raku the food tasted like the food was flavored with powdered charcoal...it even tasted a bit gritty... perhaps Americans think thats the intended taste but I'm not sure its authentic... or...it could be we're use to burned foods from the barbie... anyway the grilled foods were over cooked and tasted like charcoal... from the soup menu I ordered oyako don and grilled rice balls... the oyako was quite ordinary...saute veggies and egg over rice...I couldn't tell if the egg was cooked... the rice balls tasted like burnt rice... mixed in with the rice was some kind of spice which didn't appeal to me... for dessert I had the cheesecake which was very good... the bill including tax and tip was $140 dollars... oh...I forgot...I had some sashimi which was $25 dollars which was very good too... the service was ok... at high end restaurants servers always ask how the food was...no one asked at raku...

We had a great meal here. Fairly priced and chill environment. I tried several different items and all were good. One of the specials they had stood out. I cannot remember the dishes name but it was a steak served/cooked on a rock w potatoes on a bed of rocks. Wow

We were so excited to eat at Raku as my husband has eaten there several times and had a wonderful meal. I called ahead to order 2 vegetarian (no fish or seafood) Omakase meals. Our friends who ordered the regular Omakase had delicious meals. For several of the vegetarian courses, we received a grilled piece of onion. Very little food was served for the $240 we were charged. Despite the great serviced and ambiance we were not impressed with the food. We should have ordered off the menu instead of splurging for the Omakase. We left feeling disappointed and hungry. We will not be returning and will strongly encourage our vegetarian friends to dine elsewhere.

It was my second time here, and it was delicious as I remembered! We got the kobe beef with wasabi and garlic and two specials - the uni platter and the wagyu beef sukiyaki, which was amazing! The service and food comes a bit slow, but be patient as good food takes time to prepare. We came in the restaurant at 11:30 pm on Friday night without a reservation but were seated in 15 minutes. I did try calling to make a reservation prior but the phone didn't go through after multiple attempts. It is a tad expensive, but worth trying for good, quality Japanese food in Vegas!

If it is great Japanese food you seek, run, don’t walk, to Raku. Situated in an assertively nondescript strip mall (stress on ‘strip’ as there is a 24/7 massage place there as well) this modest restaurant serves Japanese tapas — small plates bursting with flavor and talent. My party of 2 ordered around a dozen such, each simply but beautifully displayed. Deep sake menu. Friendly, helpful service. This is what a hidden gem looks like. The focus is on charcoal grilled items.

This is one of my favorite for Las Vegas. Normally we did a chef choice but this time we decided to pick a few of our favorites and the tonight special. The fish was so fresh and beautifully cut. The grilled dishes were so good. It really is an awesome place, the servers are wonderful too, I can't wait to return.

Phone reservation is a must. We tried a few times over two days before getting a 10:30 pm reservation; however, when we arrived an hour early, having overestimated the traffic, the hostess seated us immediately, for which we’re most appreciative. We ordered two different omakase ($150 and $120) - the top two (deluxe and premium) out of the three available, skipping the “basic”, because the server explained that they are the same only for the house-made tofu and very similar for the sashimi, so we’ll get to try a lot more variety. One has 9 and the other 10 courses. The following were the courses - the server explained everything but I did not retain which was from which menu, since we shared everything: 1. House-made tofu, recommended to be cut into portions and eaten either with green tea salt, or mixed with finely ground ginger, finely chopped chives, bonito flakes and house soy sauce. 2. Grilled plate: Pablo-coated asparagus (common to both), tiger shrimp over burrata seasoned with balsamic vinegar, and amberjack for one; duck, chicken breast and abalone over seaweed for another. 3. Sashimi - scallops, snapper and tuna; the latter served with a raw quail egg. 4. Grilled mushrooms wrapped in bacon - white button for one and enoki for another. 5. Grilled tai (amadai or tile fish) collar for one, grilled Waygu beef on skewer for another. The server recommended the former over grilled king crab leg as it was seasonal. 6. Grilled pork on skewers: Iberico for one and Kurobuta cheek for another. 7. Lightly floured and fried fish, one served with a delicious broth. 8. Waygu beef served over a hot stone and sliced potatoes, topped with garlic crisps. 9. Rice: Ikura and uni for one; foie gras with finely chopped and seasoned lettuce for another. Served with pickled winter melons and radishes. 10. Desserts: vanilla ice cream with cookie crumbs and green tea creme brûlée for one, raspberry sorbet and brown sugar pudding with goji berry for the other. The last was the best, delicate yet flavorful. We simply drank hot tea with our meal but we understand the restaurant has a huge sake selection. Service was excellent, servers keeping up with all the food and tea servings with no gaps yet no rush. Perfectly timed. We were stuffed! Memorable visit.

It took us two nights before we can make reservation at 7 pm. The atmosphere is good and they offer fresh fish from Japan. Recommend Blue Fin Tuna, Toro Kushi and Mejina if you like fish from Japan. The Duck with Balsamic Soy sauce, Scallop and Foie Gras with glazed soy based sauce are also recommended. It will go well with a bottle of Kamoizumi Umeshu wine.

So we just had a delicious omakase at Raku and I'd like to record it. This trip wasn't plan for so restaurant reservations were not in the card. We showed up early to get one of the to table that will require a 1 1/2 hours for the entire experience- not a problem, we took it, and loved every minute of it. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, what I can share with you is - think fresh, thinks perfectly seasoning and lovingly crafted and you have Raku. I appreciated the staff, so professional and so on key, just perfect. I will come back to Raku every time I am i Vegas, love this place.

On our recent trip to Las Vegas (may 12-18), we went to This restaurant that was highly recommended by people who had been there before. We were really looking forward to a great Japanese cuisine evening until the hostess threw it all to the gutter. Her attitude and customer service skills are far from that of a restaurant with such great comments; she told us that we could only have the tasting menu (extremely deceiving), and when I asked why, her only response was, “it’s because you are a party of six”, which made me feel punished for coming to the restaurant and spend more money than most people. It does not state anywhere on their website that such policy exists, we felt discriminated by her harsh responses and no logical explanation to this matter. Japanese people should be embarrassed by shush sub-standard representation.

This place requires reservations but they dont open till 6pm. The customer service is great but the food being ready for serving took forever. Expect to spend 3 hours + here because food service/availability super slow. Seemed like restaurant was understaffed because we hardly saw our waiter. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Quality of food not here either. I came her upon referral from a friend but not impressed with food. The waiting around ridiculous killed any good vibes for this place.

I started eating at Raku maybe thirteen years ago when I heard that many of the top chefs in Vegas would go eat there in the middle of the night. From my very first meal, I knew this place was special. Raku is hands down the best restaurant that I have eaten at. That is saying a lot coming from a picky foodie like me. Each time I land in Vegas, I would make it a point to have my first meal at Raku. This place is so good that if I was told I only had one meal left, Raku would be the place I would go to! I have tried just about everything on Raku's menu. The fish is flown in fresh from Japan on a regular basis so anything sashimi on their daily special list is usually awesome. This trip I had the Blue Fin Tuna, Amberjack, and King Salmon.Talk about fresh mouth watering sashimi. Wow! The tofu is made in house daily. They do have half size portions if you are dining by yourself or if you just wanted to try a little bit. Most of their fried items are coated with a house made sake-soy infused marinade. From the daily specials list I had the fried mini Japanese Whiting. Three small fish with all the meat sliced off perfectly. The fish head remains attached to the bone and tail. All of which was fried to perfection. It was heaven in my mouth. Some other must tries are the Juicy Deep Fried Chicken. Crispy Fried Shrimp and the Fried Ice Fish. As for skewers from Raku's Robata Grill, you can't go wrong with whatever you order. My personal favorites are the Chicken Teba Wing, Kobe Beef Outside Skirt with Garlic, Kobe Beef Liver, Apple Marinated Lamb Chop, Kobe Beef Filet with Wasabi, Tomato wrapped in Bacon and Japanese Shishito Peppers. Some of my other favorite items are the Ikura Don, which I have every meal. Udon noodle with Foie Gras Egg Custard Soup is also awesome. Oyako Don which is chicken and egg. And the Poached Egg with Sea Urchin and Salmon Roe. If you consider yourself a foodie or happen to be in Vegas, put Raku at the top of your list of must-try restaurants. They do take reservations and is open to 3 AM which is perfect for late night dining after hitting the tables or after catching a show. I prefer to sit at the Sushi Bar so I can watch the masters delicately slice and elegantly present each dish. How can I forget to mention dessert? I love the Green Tea Crème Brulee with a cup of hot green tea. Perfect way to end a perfect meal.

If you enjoy eating Japanese food, I would highly recommend stopping by Raku. You may want to make reservations in advance since this place does get really busy. The parking lot is also small so you may want to arrive a little earlier to try and get a parking stall. As for the food, it is pretty amazing. We had the omakase and it was well worth it. There was so much food that we left very satisfied. I believe everyone in your party must do omakase if you are going in for that. Also there is a good selection of sake if you want to enjoy a little alcohol with your food. We try to come here at least once whenever we are in Vegas since a bunch of our friends all like eating here. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for good Japanese food.

I wouldn’t normally pick Tofu as a meal option, but at Raku it’s a must have. Their Oyaji tofu dish has some (not so spicy) chili garlic flakes and scallions on the side / delicious! The steak on hot rock is also outstanding - they flambé it tableside for a little more oomph to the whole experience. Huge and varied collection of sake make it a truly authentic meal. Service is quiet and quick and it’s definitely an excellent choice. Off strip location but close enough to the strip for a cheap ride share trip.

I went to dinner here with my boyfriend and we ordered the Omakase. What a great experience! Making the reservation was worth it because you can sit down and enjoy the meal without feeling rushed. Everything was delicious, fresh, and we did not leave feeling hungry! The staff is so friendly and explains every dish that comes out. The fresh tofu and Japanese cheesecake were both to die for! I will definitely return!

Overall we had a nice experience in this restaurant. The quality of the food is pretty good and complete although it is not 100% Japanese. The place is nice and cozy and the service is overall good, not excellent but good. We had to make reservations in advance to get good seating but it wasn't as full as other comments suggested, maybe this was because we went in low season but the restaurant is pretty small so i'd suggest to make reservations in advanced, specially on high season. The place is not the prettiest but it's acceptable and the ambience is pretty casual, nothing fancy. The food was pretty good but that also depended on what we ordered. The caviar oyster was fantastic (but pretty expensive), the foie gras was out of this world, the hamachi was also pretty good. The kobe filet was good but i'd doubt it was REAL kobe since it wasn't as buttery and melty as i've heard kobe is supposed to be, but again, it is frozen so maybe it was maybe it wasn't. The only thing that I hated were the pig ears but that wasn't the cooks fault, I wanted to try something different and I chose wrong so I would never recommend anyone to try those. The food was pretty good and well cooked but a little bit overpriced, but if you're looking for a nice restaurant in vegas, i'd recommend getting out of the strip for a couple of hours and explore a little piece of Japan inside Vegas.

Outstanding food and lovely, serene ambiance - perfect for a special night out. Don’t miss the blue fin tuna expertly prepared. Also, grilled yellowtail skewers in a delicious marinade, a chicken, egg and onion bowl that was so satisfying, and the amazing Popeye Salad. Our server, Usse , our server was incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel welcome. Loved this place!!

Superb Japanese restaurant, well worth the few minute detour away from the strip! Chef’s omakase selections made for a memorable dining experience enjoyed by a very discerning group of diners...

We have been hearing about Raku in nothing less than highly laudatory terms for a while so we decided to go there with friends for my husband's birthday. We sat in traffic for an hour and a half to get there--and it proved more than worth the aggravation. It was one of the best meals we've ever had anywhere. We can't wait to go back again! The flavors were out of this world. The food was fresh beyond belief. They even make their own tofu! It's a small place so make a reservation and go early. You will not be disappointed.

I lived in Tokyo for over 11 years. I’ve eaten a lot of Japanese food during that time. First, the staff is not very knowledgeable or friendly. I asked our waiter for recommendations and he just suggested “grilled.” Well considering you specialize in yakitori (grilled skewers) that goes without saying. Any decent restaurant’s staff should be able to give a wide variety of recommendations based on diner preferences. This is really restaurant 101 stuff. Extremely bad form. Then I waited over 30 mins for two out of three grilled skewers while my two companions happily ate their food. Strange considering we ordered the same things. I finally gave up and went to the Big Wong (Chinese) restaurant a few doors down which was a fraction of the price and best of all fantastic. Staff was also more friendly. Look for a different Japanese restaurant

The last time we visited Raku was back in 2013, so it was time to return. This time around, we made a reservation to have their Omakase, selecting the $100 per person option (there is a $75 option, too). We were not disappointed. Every dish was terrific. The meal started with the housemade tofu, which had the texture of refined cream cheese but with a nutty flavour. Raw oysters with sturgeon caviar followed, and they were divine (too bad we only got one each). The sashmi selection, as expected, was fresh and succulent while the bacon-wrapped enoki mushrooms was Japanese grilling at its finest. Kobe beef with wasabi and Iberico Pork with Teriyaki offered a "east-meets-west" sensibility to the menu. Both were cooked to perfection. Next was the star of the meal - a whole flash-fried snapper with mushrooms and set in a lovely dashi. The foie gras with black garlic was rich and hearty. The only complaint about this dish is that it probably would have been better earlier in the meal than as the penultimate course. The meal ended with a very finessed and delicious cheesecake with raspberry sauce. It was reminiscient of the cheesecakes from Japan - light, fluffy, and smooth. The service was very good on this night despite the restaurant being at full capacity (it was a Monday night). This is definitely one of our favourite restaurants anywhere. Hopefully it won't be six years before we return. (BTW, Omakase on the Strip runs at $150 and over)

I recently traveled to Japan. The food you get in Japan is just amazing. I was taken to Raku this past weekend and I was so impressed with the style, quality, service and authenticity of the food. We had many of the skewers from Kobe beef, beef tendon and chicken. Also, served was the very fresh Yuba and a cold dish with a variety of eggs, poached egg, uni and salmon roe. A place you need to go to!

Raku is a must eat on my list when I am in town. Reservation ahead of time is highly recommended. Parking lot is always full. Poached egg with uni, pork cheek, tofu, Foie gras over rice were great.

Wow this place did not disappoint. My husband and I went on Friday June 28th. We left it to about two weeks before our trip to try to get a reservation and had no luck (do call way in advance). Thankfully our concierge at the Bellagio was able to get us a 6:00 seating. This place is small and does fill up. I don't think there was a single walk-in all reservations so do book ahead. The service was wonderful, polite, professional and prompt. Great sake selection as well as Japanese beers. We had the Kobe beef skewers with wasabi - so so good we ordered several of them! We also had the crispy fired shrimp, the chicken thighs and the scallop with soy sauce and the grilled rice ball. We loved every single bite. I can understand why this place is so hard to get into but definitely worth the effort to snag a reservation. It is only a 10 - 15 minute drive off the strip ( depending on where you are staying) so very easy to get to the place. We will be back!!!!!

What can I say...everything we have ever had at this restaurant is exceptional. The taste is just perfect. Their homemade agedashi dofu is just amazing as is the foie gras, tsukune, hamachi carpaccio, and the list goes on. Treat yourself to an amazing meal here but get a reservation. Enjoy!

We ended up in china town after a long day thinking we would have American Chinese. Wanted to go to Big Wong just around the corner but just for the t-shirt but it was very non-covid slow. So we went to one of the several restaurants in the plaza. Raku - this is real Japanese - we couldn't hardly order as we knew nothing about the menu and what to do. It was more like a tapas menu. Ordered yellowtail, duck and liver on a skewer all VERY good and 4 Oyako bowls (rice egg onion cheese) bowl as that's all we really understood on the menu. not pricey not cheap - 110 no drinks. Waitress was great but didn't really help our ordering - Wish they would help us new comers but I understand it is a very Japanese place.

This place was featured both on Andrew Zimmerman and Anthony Bourdain she w and I can see why. We ordered the 100 dollar 7 course meal and it was the best food I had in my entire life !! The area where it is at almost felt like being in Chinatown on the West coast which enhanced the experience!!

An absolutely amazing dessert experience! Highly recommend doing the combo dessert they have. And sit at the bar if you can and watch them put these amazing mouth watering desserts together! The staff are super friendly and bubbly. Also they make custom cakes which look so amazing and lots of humor. Side note the bathroom is super clean!!

Many small plate of delicious food. Our favorites were Enoki mushroom w baco ( a best bite ever) Scallop I butter Kobe beef with Wasabi Crispy chicken Arugula salad Tuna sashimi , large portion Black snapper , whole fish , perfectly cooked BRDT SERVER, use his help for food , wine and saki Must see bathroom 😎

In my top five of ever & anywhere. Soooo good I bought the salt/spice/oil to take home. Home is Houston, diversity & food capital of the country. So, I know yums. I’m pretty sure I already wrote a review, but I’m following it up. I put my Raku spices & oil on some rice. It’s not the same, but 5 minuets later the taste left in my mouth is so close. So close, I want to go to Vegas just for Raku.

Really look forward to this given the rav review but it's really disappointing. I sit at the counter. The grill is NOT by the counter mind you since they have both sashimi and grill in one shop. It should have been a warning sign but I overlooked it... I was not very hungry so opted for the smaller tasting menu + sake pairing. It came to around 250ish bill. The food is really not special. The tofu is tasteless (had way better home made flavorful plain tofu), sashimi is fresh, the grill is TOOO BIG. My experience with omasake Japanese grill is the attention to each slide of meat for each course. The portion is just off and it's like..just...grill...Dessert is very so so. The seasoning is also nothing special. Highlight is the sake pairing pretty well and came in nice unique cups. In my opinion not worth the 250+ bill for the quality of food. Probably nice if you just order some small dishes and share a nice bottle of sake.

My girlfriend and I decided we wanted to go to Chinatown one evening for some food, so I had googled and found this restaurant, which seemed to have good reviews. I booked an Uber to take us here and the driver hadn't heard of it, so immediately alarm bells started ringing! As we ventured further and further away from the strip, we arrived at a relatively 'dodgy' looking industrial estate with what seemed to be a couple of restaurants and some foot massage establishments. Where had I taken us!? We walked in Raku and were immediately met with a warm welcome from the staff. We were seated immediately and served drinks. The Asian beer we both opted for won't be for some people's taste, but I really liked it. Seemed like a cross between a lager and a Guiness. We browsed through the menu and I have to be honest with the fact we didn't really know what anything was. We ordered a mixture of things, including kobe beef skewers, blue fin tuna and salmon. All the food arrived quickly and tasted incredible. I honestly can't fault anything we ate or the service. What a hidden gem this place is!

I recently visited this restaurant for a business meeting. There were five of us and they easily accommodated us… Although we had made a reservation. The parking in the parking lot kind of sucks, but there is ample parking across the street. The quaint environment really adds to the overall experience here. The food was amazing! The waggle beef steak and the homemade tofu were my favorites.

Raku is a well-known and successful fixture in Las Vegas's Chinatown, recognized mostly for its omakase (tasting) menus selected by the chef. I chose the $100 menu (a $75 menu provides the same number of courses, a few of which differ from the ones offered by the more expensive menu). It was my first visit there on 2020 new year's eve, and the food did not disappoint me. It was delicate and refined, presented with care and flair. It mixed subtle flavors with earthier foods. Some of the combinations offered were unusual but provided a blend of tastes that delighted the palate. Of particular interest on that evening were a small oyster served with caviar and seared foie gras served on a bed of warm rice. The dessert , a cheesecake mousse with raspberry coulis was heavenly. It was nicely complemented by a complimentary dark tea. Unfortunately the superb quality of the food was not matched by the service: while the different courses were provided in a timely manner, the service itself was lackadaisical: certainly not what you come to expect from a high-end Japanese establishment. Does success breed contempt ? If you really want outstanding service as well as comparable, or maybe even slightly better, food quality, you do not have far to go. Just 100 ft away, in the same strip mall, you will find Kabuto . It will be worth your while.

I love Japanese cuisine as does my daughter so when we looked for a special place to celebrate her 18th we chose Raku and boy were we pleased. We had the sampler menu and were delighted with each serving. The Yuzu sour cocktail is a must.

The variety of food and sake on the menu was impressive! The location was quite busy and servers seemed a bit harried when we visited.

I was lucky to get a seat, and I had the most amazing time dining at this restaurant. It is very authentic Japanese food, done at the highest quality, and dining experience. I really enjoyed it all the way through. Reservations are a must, and you must book pretty far in advance. It is located in a strip mall, so parking is easy. It is a little far off the strip, but worth the drive.

My group of friends and I decided to try the omakase at Raku. The courses started off amazing then started to taper off. Their homemade tofu and sashimi was really good and the fish was super fresh .. however any of the following dishes seemed to be underwhelming at best.

i go to this place every time I go to Vegas. They make their own tofu and it is excellent, more people would eat tofu if it tasted like this. They make their own soy sauce as well which is impressive. Lots of small plates which gives you a chance to try many things. Excellent spinach salad.
My new favourite Japanese restaurant in Vegas
I ordered the Tasting menu which was $160 and it was totally worth it. I added some umi and green tea ice cream to my meal because I have to and both were excellent. The tasting menu had sashimi, wagyu steak, pork skewers, BBQ mini corn, tofu, a tuna bowl and everything tasted fabulous and was presented with love and care. I met some great people at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs where great to watch. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Japanese food! ( cooked or cold this place is amazing)
