Great service on NYE

By Julie D |

Had a fun family dinner here after the game and before the NYE events. Everything was tasty and the service was excellent. Nice atmosphere and good drinks. Had a reservation for a back table in a more quiet area and that was granted. Recommend it for a nice dinner out. Loved the whiskey selection.

Wow- Amazing!

By Nick M |

The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Service was timed perfectly and we were never rushed to finish one course. The cheese plate and the LAMB PAPPARDELLE ALLA BOLOGNESE were incredible! Order them both.

Happy Hour Heaven

By 4101Cindy |

The Happy Hour Menu here is great, a well rounded offering with something for everyone. The staff are friendly and happy to assist with any questions. The cocktails are brilliant I had the barrel aged blood orange negroni. Really enjoyable

It was slightly better than average

By jbsatx |

Cool place, good vibe, food just ok. Atmosphere and plus and the drinks are good with local beer. Nice part of town as well

Pretty good food and libations

By sonofragnar |

A friend suggested this place when I was in town for a work trip and glad she did. I tried a couple of the specialty cocktails, which were tasty. I really like duck, when done well, but it is so easy to screw up. I tried the duck here and was not disappointed.

Fantastic filibuster at the re:public restaurant!

By HonoluluHistorian |

An easy walk in South Lake Union brought us to re:public restaurant. The renewal of this area over the past two years is nothing less than astounding, and re:public is a restaurant that rewards the hungry with sensible portions of Italian food. My tagliatelle was topped with a ragu that was so full of simmered beef and tomatoes that it reminded me of my Hungarian grandmother: it took her an entire day to make ragu this way. We ordered mushroom-covered steaks with crisp french fries, medallions of pork, which were perfectly seared, and mixed bar drinks, which were superb. The six of us intend on meeting up there again soon!

neighborhood star

By Jeffrey K |

Located in an area of upscale shops and condos, this bar/restaurant has a nice vibe and was a great find. While the music and people noise was high at 8 pm it quickly thinned (we find Seattle to be an early town ) and was bearable thereafter. Drinks are good, and the menu, while somewhat limited in volume of selections, provided excellent fare: coq au vin all around winner, bolognese pasta, faro salad, excellent pot au feu. Service was attentive, wine was well priced but a modest pour.

Make sure you order the right thing, or you could be disappointed

By mshbnyehud |

I rarely write about a dinner that isn't executed particularly well, but unfortunately we didn't fare well at this restaurant. You can be seated on time, have good service, and a nice ambience, but if even one of the dinners isn't executed properly, it spoils the entire experience. Plus the menu, as indicated by others, is limited -- and in this case, it felt like every other item was pork (not nearly the case but that is what it seemed like). We ordered a Bibb wedge lettuce salad which was substantial and nicely presented, and also salt cod beignets, which was ordered simply because we didn't want 2 salads and the other choices on this limited menu didn't appeal. Although the beignets were light and also substantial, I didn't particularly care for the remoulade it was served with. We ordered the skirt steak and gnocchi for main course. I should have sent back the skirt steak, but I don't like to do that. It was warm, not hot, and the meat definitely wasn't tender. We mentioned it to the wait staff and found that this is pretty consistently the case with that particular steak. There was no offer to provide a new entre, nor did the waiter tell any supervisor that this diner was less than 100% satisfied with their meal. The skirt steak was also a pretty small portion, loaded with potatoes and veggies on the side. The gnocchi was well prepared and tasty, but between the extra potatoes on the skirt steak and the gnocchi, we were carbed out! Decided not to stay for dessert, and I got a stomach ache afterwards - which thankfully went away after an hour. We won't be back to this place, except maybe to sit at the attractive bar and order a simple appetizer.

Tasty Food, Too Loud

By NellT |

Quite a happening atmosphere at this establishment! Attended a large group dinner in the back portion of the restaurant where our group took up 2 very large tables. The noise level (not from our group) was quite high--such that you could speak with people next to you but speaking with someone across the table was quite a challenge. Service was solid and food was very good--great flavors and nicely presented, but still found the whole experience lacking due to the noise level.

Went for a dinner with old friends

By sakflva |

Was in from out of town and my friends made a reservation. When I got there around 6 on a Thursday it was loud with a lot of young people. By 7:30 it had cleared out. The food was good. I had the bolognese. My friends had the burger and the duck. It's very convenient to amazon hq.

Perfect Spot for drinks and dinner

By Marge F |

We stayed one last night in Seattle after a cruise and wanted a last family dinner (traveling with 3 children in their twenties). My daughter found this on social media and looked perfect for us. We loved with drinks (we definitely check out cool whisky drinks) and the wild boar bolognese was a favorite! When our waiter got overloaded one of the bar tenders came out and took over our service--so informative and helpful. Definitely pleased our kids who traveled from Boston ,NYC and Chicago ~ and are 'foodies'. worth checking out!

Dark setting with good food

By UpstateExplorer |

After an event on Lake Union we were seeking a restaurant for Saturday. Surprisingly Re:public was easy to get into when other restaurants were full. The food quality is such that it should have been more busy. Upon entry the interior seems dark and spare despite large front windows. We arrived a bit before the start of Happy Hour and ordered from the Happy Hour menu. Service was good. We found a wine list with several good options. We had sliders and Duck and Rabbit Rillette for appetizers. For dinner we had Wild Boar Bolognese - good, but falling short of the Cinghiale of Italy - and excellent Risotto with wild mushrooms and arugula. There are other interesting dishes and it is worth another visit. We were visiting from out of town; the restaurant appears to be a good setting for after work or after theater gatherings or to get a better quality meal.

Yummy! and Lavendar Gin, as well!

By Renee C |

A bit noisy and crowded when we arrived with our small group of six, but the re:public accommodated us very well with a table around the corner from the main bar AND they lowered the music! Very accommodating considering it was Friday Happy Hour in the hopping part of Seattle. Limited, but tasty selections. I ordered one of the pasta dishes -- Tagliarini -- and it was quite good. A perfect sized portion--not too large, not too skimpy--just right. Highly recommend the Bib Lettuce salad, quite substantial. I asked for a gin and tonic and for a recommendation for a gin. They made my drink using lavender gin with a drizzle of Saint Germaine. Absolutely divine!

Tasty food and good drinks list

By William M |

We visited for dinner on a Monday and it had a nice atmosphere with plenty of tables and the front opened up as it was a warm day. The food was good and had me wanting to come back to try other dishes. They had an extensive drinks menu as well.

French 75 and fries

By Stinkerbello |

Loved the cocktail menu and I'm usually a wine drinker. Ordered a vodka French 75 and fries. Saw a friend at the bar. Combined tables with him and had a great night. Burger was undercooked but still ok. More fries! Cauliflower never showed up but not sure if it was on the bill. Great vibe. Great bar scene. Loved seeing 20s-40s mingling. Cool beans.

New Years Eve

By Julie D |

Nice dinner with the family after the Seahawks game on 12/31. Had the reservation well in advance and was met by friendly service and great meal. They had the restaurant festively decorated and had drink specials for the guests. It was a busy night and the service and meal did not suffer. I will go back.

Delicious.

By Ivett G |

Every plate I tried was exquisite, we sat outside to enjoy the weather, fun atmosphere but still a good place to have a wonderful meal.

Great / Quick Service!

By Traveling4Real |

While visiting long time friends in Seattle we decided to meet up at Re:public for drinks and a few small bites before heading out. It was a Friday night and they were busy, however service was great. Our drinks and food were quick to arrive shortly after ordering. No complaints on anything. We’ll certainly come back have dinner when visiting next time.

Great menu selection

By Michael D |

The menu at Re:public is varied and has something for everyone. The pricing is comparable to other restaurants in the area and you have your choice of dining or bar seating. I highly recommend the brussels sprouts appetizer....excellent!

Cool place

By Danny H |

I was there for some training in the area. After long day. I took a walk around, Googled places and this place looked cool. I selected a couple of items that were different and was very pleased. The bartender was super cool and the vibe was. Nice ending to the day before Uber trip back to hotel.

Wonderful brunch, great location

By Hal72 |

A business group of us had a brunch meeting here. We had a variety of items; mine the simple eggs, bacon, and potato. Very tasty, and the other items looked great too. the coffee was also very good. Service was excellent, not excessive but we never had to wait for something. The restaurant was quiet enough that the six of us could have our conversations and be easily heard.

Delicious!

By Songbirdintl |

Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food is magnificent!! The scallops are a must and the pork chop and burger were delicious!!!

Cool atmosphere, delicious food

By Shannon W |

The maple brussel sprout appetizer was absolutely delicious. Entree was a smaller portion, but well prepared. The dessert portions were quite large and delicious. Even the people who skipped entrees struggled to finish the rich dessert.

Trendy yet relaxed

By Back_to_Sandringham |

I dropped in here for dinner after arriving late in the evening to my hotel nearby. The decor is post-industrial chic, the lighting is subdued and the music is lounge-hip. I had an excellent crab risotto. The wine list by the glass is relatively limited but nicely curated. Friendly service too. Given the number of people having solo meals, it clearly appeals to the late-working demographic. A nice place.

Good, nothing over the top

By William S |

Trip Advisor should provide a category called "Good" in between Average and Very Good. This place is good, not very good. High ceiling enhance the noise factor, good service, clean food, slightly overpriced, Greek vegan sandwich $14.00 should be $10.00. Small bowl of Fish Chowder, $10,00 should be $8.00. Very well maintained by an attentive wait staff. Food had a good taste. Seattle has many, many good restaurants, this one qualifies.

Put down the salt shaker!

By just_common_sense |

Re:Public has one of the better menus in the South Lake Union area. The atmosphere is hip and lively and the cocktail menu is substantial and creative. They also have a great selection of wine, beer and ciders, including many local options. We were there on a busy Friday evening, and were practically the only table of customers over the age of 40. The music was loud, but not so loud that we couldn't talk. My cauliflower appetizer was good but on the salty side. My entree, however--a farro risotto--was inedibly salty; please note that I tell you this as someone who salts her breakfast cereal. I should have sent it back, but I hate doing that. Our server was very apologetic when she saw that I did eat my dish, and she did not charge us for it. Both of the other people in my party were satisfied with their meals. Given the level of cuisine that Re:Public aspires to, I would expect more detail orientation from the kitchen. I'd happily go back for drinks, but I'd say something to the server about the saltiness of the food before ordering dinner again.

Nice SLU Bistro

By Crashbone58 |

The Brave Men of Altus had a dinner here. The menu is fantastic. Our group ordered the duck confit, the wild boar, the pork tenderloin, and the cod. Everything was done to perfection. We had a couple bottles of Malbec which worked well with such an eclectic order. Of note, the brussels sprout appy is excellent. The Men of Altus say, "Ja!"

Very tasty

By lesliebauman |

Really tasty appetizers and creative cocktails. We did several share plates that were excellent like filet bites, duck confit, clams and the Brussel sprouts. Beet salad was excellent. So many good tastes and great service too.

Great atmosphere - great beer

By Jon E |

Very simple - great menu and beers - friendly staff and a welcoming friendly atmosphere - had a fab evening with friends - would definitely visit again

Good for happy hour meet

By TSinParis |

I had a few glasses of wine and a light meal here last week with a colleague. They have a good selection of wines and light dishes. As one TA contributor pointed out, it can get a bit noisy.

Very Good Plus

By StrShp115 |

Our experience was pleasing and on par for the Seattle dining experience. The menu and happy hour selections offer a good variety of selections with dashes of creativity. The selection of whiskey and rye is extensive and prominently displayed on large chalkboards above the bar....for appetizer, we shared the roasted brussel sprouts and cheese board....good but nothing exceptional. My partner had the bolognese pasta while I enjoyed the steak...Both entrees competently prepared...tasty, and generous portions.....my only disappointment was the butterscotch pot de creme dessert ....rather plain with candied pecans ......however, Our server was A+....friendly, enthusiastic, and checked on us appropriately

Keep Those French 75s Coming!

By pookala |

A great Happy Hour spot. Our resident Seattletonian took us here after spending a long day at work. Meat and cheese platters were well chosen with appropriate flavor garnishes and the drinks were yummy and fairly priced. A private after work party drove the sound up in the room a lot but the mood here is boisterous to begin with; a perfect spot if you're looking for a lighter dinner in a casual atmosphere.

Upscale Minimalist Dining Near downtown Seattle

By Walter W |

This restaurant with minimalist decor is a few blocks walk from the center of Seattle sort of between Nordstrom and the Space Neddle on Westlake Avenue. There is a small menu with about six or eight starters, a similar number of small plates that can be a main course if you wish to eat lightly and about six main courses. Almost (maybe all) the ingredients are local and very fresh and the preparation spotless. The high point for us was the service from Nikki which was pleasant, friendly without being invasive and knowledgeable. Re:Public is definitely recommended.

Good place to hang with friends

By WGJ49 |

A nice little place with a great menu. We were a party of 10 and everyone raved about their dinner choices. I had the Duck Confit which was excellent. I definitely would return if I am in Seattle.

Nice french fries at happy hour

By max55857 |

Always like good french fries (besides McDonalds). Found these at re:public during their happy hour. Not a bad price for these either ($4). Had some chicken liver dish, a salad, and steamed clams as well. The clams were great. All reasonably priced for Seattle. Also, had some Tecate beer at happy hour. All very good,,,and excellent service. Pretty good atmosphere. A little loud for me with the music. Location is easy to find and not too crowded on the street. Will go again.

Fantastic experience.

By Misohungry117 |

A group of us had dinner here this week and had a great experience. It was busy and fast passed but we never waited too long for anything. We had the pork belly sliders, the charcuterie, miso quinoa, and the lamb bolognese. Every thing was great however the lamb was the true stand out. We had the cheese for dessert, another gold star. All of the wine and signature cocktails were stellar. This place was the full package all the way around. Servers, hosts, bartenders...great job!!

Great Lunch Wonderful Turkey Sandwich

By Trapper E |

The butter lettuce Caesar was a nice twist on a Classic. Very fresh lettuce, beautiful presentation. Turkey sandwich was really good! Great combination of quality ingredients. All their food looked really good. Quinoa Miso Tofu with Seaweed was delicious! What a great choice for Vegetarian and/or Asian craving!

Cognitive Dissonance rules

By james n |

So given all the prior reviews I was expecting a good "foody" restaurant. Instead I found a trendy gastropub filled with afterwork techie hipsters. Even though everyone had their cell phones out and in one hand the volume of the noise in the place is defying... the high unpadded ceilings echo all the conversations and background soundtrack back. We started and shared a starter of Blackened Ahi Tuna. It was obvious the plate had be prepared prior to service; the tuna was over cooked but the ginger sauce was good. My wife had the Miso Marinated Opha and I had the Duck Confit. The duck was a bit on the dry side but the sides were good. The Opha was indistinct and rather on the bland side. Overall the flavors just did not match up with each other on the plate and given the price point and prior reviews this place is a "miss".

Delicious

By melindag168 |

Delicious food, quick service. Atmosphere somewhat basic. Fish was cooked perfectly, drinks were excellent. Also loved the strawberry rhubarb bread pudding and grilled asparagus.

BEST. DINNER. EVER!

By CBEAN65 |

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle! The seasonal menu is outstanding and the drinks are amazing! Just had the Delicata Squash Salad on the October menu and it by far the best salad I have ever had! The servers are all fantastic! You have won a forever guest!

Good place for a drink in you are in the neighborhood

By Ben_Smith |

Went to Republic for Happy Hour and to visit with friends. I liked the décor, it's the typical trendy décor that all of the trendy restaurants are trying to do. It's just like Woodblock in Redmond. It's a very open environment which looks cool but it's very noisy so you have to talk loudly. The happy hour items were well priced and I had the house red wine which was pretty good. My complaint on the happy hour items that we ordered were that it looked like they had borrowed their ideas from The Butcher's Table up the street. Butcher's Table serves brussel sprout sides in a small skillet which was how Republic did it. Most of our entrees were served in a small skillet. That's pretty trendy right now also. They were pretty tasty but too much oil was used. It isn't necessary in my opinion so if you get a few of the meat and veggies, you feel a little overdone with the "oil" when you leave. We had a few people trying to avoid carbs so that didn't leave too many options. All in all, it's a fun place to stop in for a drink. I will probably go back when I'm in the area and need a local bar. I am not interested in their dinner menu - looks like they borrowed that from fellow restaurants in the area also. It would also get to me with the noise I think. My suggestion is to really try to make themselves a little more unique and I think that I would be more tempted to come in for dinner. But they have a nice fun atmosphere going and they cater to a younger crowd so I wouldn't go out of my way but for a meet up with a friend when you are close by, it's a decent choice.

Fammily Evening Meet-up

By Steve R |

Stopped in for a Sunday Family dinner. Great burgers, good wine list, a nice selection for everyone.

Good choice!

By mzungu f |

Popped in for a business lunch, and the service was excellent, and the food very good and plentiful. I had the Italian Grinder, and it was really rich with excellent quality meat, and a little messy too. Didn't care for the arugula salad it came with, which was just some greens and two cherry tomatoes, but I didn't need it given the size of the sandwich. Good vibe and upscale crowd of pretty people. I'd come back, and maybe try it for a happy hour.

Interesting food

By Steve M |

very interesting food with service that is just OK. Smaller portions than we would have liked and a high price point, but enjoyable

Delicious, innovative seafood dishes

By travelsketchwrite |

Arriving just at the end of happy hour, we opted to sit in a booth in the dining area. Our informed waitress suggested two red wine wines by the glass that were superb, as we sipped our wine we decided to share the spicy smoked octopus starter. Skillfully prepared, delicious and served with a side of shaved fennel and green leaf salad. Both of us chose the halibut for dinner. Arriving in a very cool long narrow vessel the halibut was crispy on top and fall apart moist underneath. Best we have had in awhile. Served on a bed of mushrooms with poached radishes with a warm broth poured in the vessel at the table. Perfection. Will definitely return next time we are in the city... happy hour looked fun and a great deal.

Elk Tartare...that rocks!

By Bradley1965 |

This is a solid farm to table restaurant. We came in and enjoyed a wonderful dinner of scattered small plates. The way I love to eat, just keep the food coming and enjoy. You must try the roasted cauliflower, broccolini, bread with roasted garlic, elk tartare (Excellent!) and tonight was King Salmon for the fish entree. Though all this may change tomorrow keeping with the fresh local theme. Everything was prepared and presented beautifully. My only comment was that the Chef is a little shy on seasoning. I applaud the letting the food speak for itself though at times it's ok to give it a little kick start. Service was good and non obtrusive, that isn't easy considering the untraditional service format that I chose. It's impressive to see a restaurant that when I booked the table a few hours earlier they had ample reservation openings. Only to find out they were full upon arrival. Very cool and a great testament to running a true neighborhood establishment. Keep rocking!

Awesomest !

By Alex P |

Stopped by for a lunch with a friend who is a frequent visitor. Very busy for lunch but still got a decent table. Good atmosphere and a great specialty menu. Vegetarian dishes are to die for. Not the cheapest place for lunch but a great choice anyway.

Great value for a business meal

By Gaditor |

I had lunch here as part of a interview for a new hire. The service was excellent, we got our dishes in a timely manner, which was greatly appreciated as the potential hire needed to continue with his appointment schedule. The food was excellent, well prepared and better presented.

Excellent pasta options

By Diane L |

Absolutely delicious pasta dishes! Both of our meals were dinners to remember, far better than your usual fare. Very good house red wine. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend!

A quaint restaurant

By lalith007pune |

A quaint restaurant with good food.Quite packed for a Sunday evening dinner.A bit far from Lake Union.A good place for food though.

I'd probably go there again.

By Shay S |

Seated at a nice table by a window, very good service, comfortable atmosphere, crowded but not too noisy for table conversation. Interesting cocktails, absolutely fabulous soup of the day. My friend's main course was terrific - a pasta - but my pork just didn't taste good. I'd probably give the place another chance though.

LOVED IT!

By MAN318 |

The menu was not extensive, but had several choices in each category (Starters, Salads/Soups, Entrees, Dessert). The quality and uniqueness of the food was exceptional. Better than we've had at much pricier establishments. The decor of the restaurant & bar was dark wood, walls, etc. However, the lighting was more than adequate. My only negative comment is that the booths meant to seat 4 would make for rather snug seating! We'll tell our friends and we'll be back.

Suggested by a local.

By drc46530 |

Was here on business and a group of us went here for lunch. Seems a bit of upscale pub food with a PNW flair. Decor was the trendy industrial minimalist pub feel that is all over the place these days. The food is well done with a nice presentation. We arrived at about 11:45 and the place was not empty but not full, by 12:15 the place was packed with a line outside so I suggest to get there early. Would recommend and would definitely go back.

Not for Dinner

By GAWS533 |

For great dining, I simply cannot recommend based on food. (However the small plates appeared suitable for a quick Happy Hour). While the atmosphere was lovely, the menu appealing and food presentation beautiful, the taste of the meal was underwhelming-especially for the price. Food was unbalanced, bland, tough meats and overcooked/oily vegetables. Even the shared dessert, Chocolate Cherry Torte, was left after several bites because it simply didn’t taste good. Service met expectation and we had a great bottle of wine, but I won’t return.

Nice brunch!

By Salonx |

Had eggs Benedict with avocado and smoked bacon. Husband had steak and eggs. We were both happy with our selections.

Great Brunch!

By Jon A |

Had a great Sunday brunch here. Nice decor, nice crowd, excellent brunch menu, and a nice choice of beers. The staff was really good as well.

Great Bartenders, a Fun Place to Hang Out!

By Kent M |

Enjoyed post concert drinks here with my wife. Very friendly attentive bartenders took good care of us. Lot's of activity in the bar at Midnight.

Convenient

By Tyler L |

A good local craft beer draught selection and fresh farm to table takes on classic pub faire make a visit to Re:public one to remember. The local beers are delicious, especially the Night Owl, one of the best pumpkin beers I've ever had. The duck sliders were fantastic, put the jalapeno slices on to add some spice to your life. The bread was incredible as well. I also really enjoyed the homemade frites though the serving size was immense. Service was also very friendly and checked up often. Everything came out quickly too.

Loud happy hour, great food

By hmizer |

Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night and what treat. Yes, happy hour made things a bit loud but the food was terrific. My daughter had the steak tartar with oysters and I had the Arctic char with lentils and beets and everything was very tasty. We'll be back.

Worth a visit

By pjgrad |

We had a late night drink and snack here. The staff is friendly. Prices are a bit high. It was a cool vibe. I'd like to come back for a full meal.

Great atmosphere and wonderful food!

By Lori M |

We had dinner last night at Re:Public. This was our first visit so we weren't sure what to expect. We loved the atmosphere and vibe as soon as we walked in. The food and service were excellent! Our table of four had the wild boar Bolognese pasta, burgers, salads and risotto. Every dish was fantastic. Our server, Alina was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the food and wine options. We truly enjoyed the entire experience and look forward to going back. It looks like a great place for large groups too.

Sunday brunch

By UKLass09 |

Great food - my grits and shrimp were wonderful! Love the fact this is 21 and over so a perfect place if you prefer not to be surrounded by children Good service and prices. I will be going back

Great Meal at Re:Public

By ElGuru71 |

I had previously been to Re:public for some of the creative whisky based cocktails on their menu, but had not previously eaten dinner. While the bar and drink menu are the focus here (with good reason), the excellent food should not be overlooked. The appetizer/small plate menu has some great choices, and the sampler (with Ahi, Filet Bites and Bacon Wrapped Prawns) is highly recommended. The main courses were very good as well, with the steak having a great flavor and presentation. A great choice in the Lake Union area of Seattle.

Great restaurant - great food

By BigMerk |

We stopped here as it looked like an interesting place. It was a nice evening so the frontage was open to Westlake. The menu looked good. My son had wild boar bolognese and I had the risotto. Both were very good, as were the drinks. It’s not cheap but it’s probably on a par with other places in the area. Nice decor and good service. Recommended.

Average food, great service

By Trishwet78 |

My husband and I came here prior to seeing a show. We ordered the brussel sprouts, the kale salad, the prawns and the filet bites all on the happy hour menu. Great prices and excellent service. However, the food was very under seasoned - we needed to put salt and pepper on everything. The kale salad was yearning for something more in terms of flavour. We would come back and try some other dishes and wouldn't give up on this place yet. Cocktails are excellent.

Great food and service!

By MostlySunny21 |

Industrial space, very hip vibe. More sleepy at the beginning of the week, but never a quiet spot. Food was very good. I had a pasta special with mushrooms and parsnips that was really fresh and flavorful. The drinks with freshly squeezed juices are also great. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Will definitely go back. Great dinner spot for a group or a date.

Not a good impression

By Bass__10 |

We were there last week. The man at the front of the restaurant informed us that it was a 21+ bar and asked if we were over 21. We confirmed and he brought us to our table. When a server came to our table to ask for drinks, we ordered beer. She asked for identification so we provided 2 pieces of ID, this still wasn't good enough and we were asked to leave the restaurant as a passport was the only valid piece of identification. We get that, but inform us about that right at the beginning.. now the guy asked our ages and brought us to our table and we still had to leave. Not a good service

Manila clams with linguini....YUM!!

By TravelAways |

A Seattle friend brought us for lunch, and it was delicious! We were greeted by the hostess, she saw we still had our luggage. She kindly sat us at table so we can store them near us. Our server was friendly and courteous. I had the Manila clams with linguini (white wine, Laurel Leaf butter, lemon zest, garlic) These simple ingredients mended together perfectly! My friends got the burger, the falafel and the seafood chowder which they enjoyed as well. If I ever get back to the restaurant, I would love to try the wild boar bolognese.

Great food. Horrible for business dinner.

By Max98116 |

The roasted chicken is the best I've had since Paris. My colleagues were impressed with their meals too. But, don't go if you have any interest in talking to the people at your table. It is so loud, we were disgusted.

Good food great atmosphere

By Daniela R |

The spot is very cool and the food is good but nothing was outstanding. Service was fine but it seems more of a late night place.

great upscale food

By alangBonitaSprings |

This was a neighborhood restaurant with great food at a reasonable price. Choices were varied. It was in a safe neighborhood close to our hotel. Staff were young and helpful and friendly. Atmosphere was good. Restaurant was clean.

Delicious Brunch!

By wearymom3 |

Hubby, son and I went to Re;public for brunch. I had made reservations but it wasn't necessary as we had made it before the brunch crowd arrived. Amazing offerings - son and I started with the avocado toast - huge amounts/enough to share but son did not want to share so I had my own. Hubby enjoyed the fruit parfait - meh! I had a killer Bloody Mary and with my addition of Tabasco it was perfect. Son ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs and potatoes. He even gave his "ole mom" a taste - delicious! I knew I should have ordered that. I had the french toast brioche topped with fresh peaches. Very good but Lordy - so much to eat. Hubby had eggs Benedict with bacon and pronounced it good. Russell was our server and very attentive. It was the first day of the new menu, and he took the time to explain the changes. Also love the fact that you must be over 21 to eat here. Sure makes it enjoyable NOT to have kids running around that no one seems to be watching. Definitely will be back!

Don't go here to chat

By Shadowfax_Clan |

This looked like a great restaurant to have a glass of wine, a bite to eat and a chat. The wine and food were good, but the room was so noisy I couldn't hear a word my friend said. Get the same at several other places but be able to chat.

Packed house, decent food and service at a moderate cost

By Cliff S |

I stopped here for a birthday dinner with my wife. It's a good thing I had reserved a table the day before, because the place was packed even at 5:30pm. There never was a line at the door, as people who arrived quickly wandered off after learning how long the wait was. It did make for a lot of difficult conversations as the crowd noise reverberated around the room quite a lot. We ordered a couple of appetizers (olive plate and a bacon wrapped pate) and had drinks as well as a main course. I ordered the NY strip, which turned out to be a lot more risotto than steak, for $28. Given the prices in this part of town, it isn't an unreasonable price, but I was expecting more steak than was on the plate. The food quality was average given the price point. The service was very good and much better than the price point of the restaurant would typically expect. Pros: Price, bar selection (quite good), and service Cons: Noise, general decor, food (the last two were average, not bad) Would I select this restaurant again? Probably not my first choice. Would I come here again if a friend suggested it? Sure.

Great dinner and drink spot!

By ellenoftroy728 |

My friend and I loved this place!! It is a little bit on the pricey side (we each paid about $35 for a drink and a burger), but I’d say it’s comparably pricey to any hip neighborhood spot. Our burgers and fries were beyond fresh and delicious. Our drinks were strong and tasty. My friend had a Paloma and I had a gin drink whose name escapes me. Definitely worth a stop in, and well populated with local professionals, which is always a good sign in my book.

Perfect spot for a casual lunch

Enjoyed a casual business lunch at this location and was impressed with the prompt service and the falafel wrap. Will definitely be back!

Yummy dinner

Last night I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Re:Public in South Lake Union. My friend and I shared the Wild Boar Bolognese and a wild mushroom risotto. The server divided them up for us, which was nice. Both dishes were excellent, and the price was reasonable. The pasta had a nice spicy kick to it, and the risotto was perfectly creamy. I appreciated that we were able to make a reservation for only two people. I will definitely return!

Great place

Food was amazing. Everything was worth trying. Service was somewhat slow though. Also washrooms hard to find and could be cleaner: they are shared with other businesses in the same building, like Tesla showroom.

Food was good, service was not

My husband’s steak was great, my prime rib sliders were okay. It would have been a good experience perhaps, if we had just gone there for drinks. Nobody else ordered food while we were there which makes me think the staff are mostly used to serving drinks but not food.

Excellent food and service

We really enjoyed our dinner here. It’s a smaller place, dimly-lit, somewhat basic in its décor, and when we were there, very loud. (I think there was a crowd in for after work drinks.) The menu is short, which I think is usually good, and in this case my expectations were exceeded. I was particularly impressed by the Wild Boar Bolognese, which was delicious and went well with a red wine. It’s not cheap, (for this midwesterner) but I thought it was good value. (Locals might consider it inexpensive.) Service was excellent too, striking just the right balance between being attentive and unobtrusive. I was underwhelmed by their Old Fashioned cocktail though. Maybe it’s the ingredients they use, but I feel I’ve had better elsewhere. Would I go back? Most definitely (but maybe I’d choose a different cocktail.)

Good brunch

By Rdubnlc |

Four of us for brunch. The Eggs Benedict with the Char was excellent. The fish was smoked but not too much and melted in our mouths. The country breakfast was very good. The side of bacon was awesome. Served in a small cast iron pan. Very crispy and not too salty or greasy. The shrimp and grits were ok. The sauce tasted like a marinara with a little andouille sausage in it. The grits were bland. One in our party has some food issues and they accommodated her every need. The breakfast tacos were fun and yummy. The venue itself is interesting. It's was cool and rainy when we were there but the street front wall rolls up to open the entire restaurant to the outside.

Whiskey bar and restaurant

We had a long flight from Europe and didn’t want to go to far from our hotel. We ordered the Duck and Rabbit rillette, roasted cauliflower, and Manila Clams from the appetizer menu and all were delicious. From the dinner menu we ordered the Risotto and burger and both of those were also done well. The cocktails are reasonable priced too! Excellent food and a welcoming atmosphere! We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in Seattle!

Good Vibes, Good not Great Food

By JParsons1954 |

We had dinner for two and we loved the atmosphere, opening up to the sidewalk. First, the drinks (house Manhattan and old fashioned) were fantastic. And the bartender came over and gave an excellent description. The beet salad and sea bass were both very good. My issue was the wild boar bolognese was plain. It actually needed salt. Not sure why people rave about this dish. Much better at other places. But I would recommend the restaurant, as I said, good vibes.

Good Food

We were looking for a place to eat and as we were checking out the menu, hostess spoke with us and indicated that she may have a cancelation if we wanted to wait for 10 minutes. We were seated in two minutes... place was full. Food was good and service was quick. Prices reasonable.

What a find, a great little hole-in-the-wall place

Great charcuterie plate, wonderful mussels and white beans and a WONDERFUL baked (or something) dish of cauliflower, absolutely terrific. We shared each dish and then had a killer small dessert. Charcuterie Stoneground Mustard: Housemade Pickle Manila clams Uli’s Andouille Sausage: Verjus-Coconut Broth: Thai Basil Baked cauliflower (with some broccoli) served with An off the menu salad of Elk Tartar, a mix of greens and a trio of dipping dressings and some kind of chips
