Great food, great drinks and awesome staff! Looking forward to our next visit. I really liked the inclusive vibe. We were greater at the door and shown to a table on the patio. Staff were attentive and friendly. Such a fun place.

We ended a half day adventure in Fremont here at Red Star Taco Bar and were very excited with the vegetarian too options. It was a seat yourself affair when we arrived and the staff was very friendly staff. Also kudos to the restaurant for labeling vegetarian items with a “V” on the menu! The two, delicious vegetarian tacos they had (and which we availed ourselves with) were the Honey Siracha Tofu which was very flavorful and well balanced with sweet and spicy flavors, and the Sweet Potato Black Bean which came on house-made corn tortillas. We had rice and beans on the side…sadly the refried beans are not vegetarian, though they do have black beans which are, and which are flavorful. (I’m mainly a refried/pinto kind of guy though.) The rice was a little bland though. The tortilla chips they serve are house made…they were a little salty but good, and they came with a house made red salsa which had a good kick to it. Well done. The tacos were plenty of reason for us to want to come back if we ever found ourselves in Fremont again. Hurrah!

Stopped in on a whim with a friend and came out a fan of the place. Wide variety of designer taco fixings to satisfy a maturing palate. Their Taco Tuesday is a hit for the student and Fremont crowd. Very well priced for even the budget minded student as well as the Eclectic taste of something new and experimental.

It was packed when we arrived so we probably should have left. We spent more than an hour waiting for our food, never told how long the wait would be. The tacos are creative but arrived cold. The music was very loud and with a lot of hard surfaces we could hardly talk.

There’s a lot of Mexican restaurants in Seattle, but Red Star is easily in the Top 2. It’s a truly local spot, in the heart of Fremont and a favorite of everyone in the neighborhood. Not only do they have fantastic food - the carnitas and tequila lime tacos are SO good - but their staff is great. Special shout-out to the manager Padraic for taking care of us on a busy night. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re in the area and craving tacos!

First time here and I was very impressed. Not a huge restaurant but nicely laid out with lots of seating at the bar. Since this was my first visit I order three different tacos and all three were large, fresh and very tasty. In addition, they had a great selection of local beers on tap as well as a mind blowing selection of Tequilas and a signature Margarita. Be sure to try the Pork Adobo Taco with Pineapple, Cilantro and Onions. Three Tacos for $11.00 might seem a bit high but the quality is so much higher then your standard food truck or basic Mexican restaurant. Will definitely be back for more.

This is my first time traveling to the area of Seattle. I found this cool little Taco bar that had a very chill ambiance. I was there for lunch and it was busy but the server did a great job of managing all the tables. I ordered Chorizo, tequila lime chicken & the Philly taco (recommended by server) & they were DELICIOUS!! Philly Taco ended up being the best one of all. Many options for drinks, I kept it simple with the Fremont IPA which also was very good. Great food, good service!

First time here, nachos were delicious, the olives, cheese, and different salsas made my mouth water. Arrived for happy hour had the tequila chicken and carnitas taco, one in flour the other in corn. Was decent could use a bit more sauce/ flavor. Love my tacos with that extra flavor. Nonetheless great hangout spot with friends and family. Look forward to go back and try the cocktails.

This has become one of my favorite restaurant/bars in the city over the last year. Delicious tamales, and some of the best taquitos I’ve had. Everything is prepared on site. Attentive service and reasonable prices. Specialize in spicy jalapeño drinks that are actually tasty. Casual bar-like atmosphere. Great pick for fresh Mexican food with a local twist.

Just left! The honey sriracha tacos were spicy but SO good. The salsa was some of the BEST I've ever had. The queso dip was just okay--a little too thin and buttery. All of my friends LOVED the Baja fish tacos. Service was great! Watch out for the corner booth in the back though; the skylight window leaks when it rains...and it's Seattle sooo...overall SUCH a great choice. Great playlist, too. Would def come back!

I stumbled upon this restaurant walking through Fremont and thought I'd give it a try. The atmosphere was kind of bar-like but fun. I had the bean and cheese dip with chips and a fish taco. While the fish taco was quite flavorful, it was also quite salty which I shared with the very friendly and attentive server. I would definitely go back to try something else off the menu as I liked everything else about the place.

It was rather hot on this Labor Day and, well, kinda quiet at the Red Star Taco Bar as three members of our family arrived for tacos for dinner. So, the food was good. But, whoever's in charge needs to issue or re-issue memos as reminders to the staff on how to handle the basics. The little things, like, not pouring water into our glasses minus ice cubes, right Genelle G?? Drinking warm water is not the way to your tip. Ahhh, but that brings up another issue--our check. When Genelle finally brought it to us, the higher-than-normal recommended (default?) tip was right there for us to see. In all honesty, Genelle, you didn't earn it. So, where's the manager for the rudimentary session in how to be a great waitress or in this case, even a good one?

Fun part of Seattle with lots of shops and places to eat. Red Star had great food and drinks and they were all reasonably priced. A full bar and a couple of TVs showing sports was a nice touch as well.

While visiting my son in Seattle he took us to one of his favorite Mexican eateries. I was very pleased with the plethora of choices and the tasty selections. This is a "must-eat"on bucket list.

This place is great. We were looking for a spot for food before our show at High Dive and after walking around the block they sounded great. With light-heavy menu options, they have something for everyone. Awesome service and man... their rice is amazing.

We wanted a "light" dinner snack. We opted for the Nachos with Chicken. The plate was Huge, so we shared it with our friends :-) The chips are fresh, came with plenty of chicken, had sour cream, salsa, & guacamole drizzled on them, plus Lots of cheese. They were fabulous!

Soooo much food! You will not be disappointed. We started with the Nachos (it will feed 4 easily). Our daughter is vegan and the nachos were extremely filling (without the meat). The tacos were amazing. We tried the Yucatán pork, lime chicken and carne Asada. Our daughter had the siracha honey tofu and mushrooms. The flavor of everything was amazing. The place was casual with great music. You’ll love the service - they were all very fun. We will be back.

Stopped in for a quick bite while shopping. Thought I'd get some nachos and boy were they delicious and enough for 4 people. Will be back.

We came in for a quick drink while waiting for our table at Revel Restaurant few doors down. We arrived around 730 pm and got our text that our table was ready. The drinks just arrived and we decided to stay and try out the Red Star. We sat outside in the back on the bar counter stools. The drinks ordered was a draft beer and the Jalepeno Margaritas which was actually tasty. Very skeptical on standard bars preparations of Margs with the usual Sweet/Sour mix but this bar or at least the waitress stated the mix is fresh. Well the drink was definitely not your standard and thus was a treat to drink that we ordered another round. The food is obviously a Mexican theme and I am also hesitant to order that genre of food in the states solely because it's not authentic and they use yellow cheese. Well this place didn't have yellow cheese - Thank The Gods. My wife ordered a simple quesadilla that came with a side of shredded cabbage and salsa fixins. It wasn't bad. Our friend ordered Tofu Tacos (yikes!), but she actually liked it. You wouldn't catch me ordering that, but heck she liked it. Again the genre is Mexican or American served Mexican food so thus there are tacos and nachos, etc. The ambience was hip and lots of people there. If in the area we will come again. The service was good. Everything delivered on time. Waitress always smiliing and following up with us throughout the stay.

We had the mix and match tacos. Great variety and all delicious flavours. The adobo was our stand out but all were awesome. Margaritas were great, server always had a smile. Definitely would go back!

Taco Tuesday for some flavors from the Center of the Universe. A local hot spot which has a variety of tacos to choose. Libations to wash down tacos like Sriancha honey Shrimp and sweet potatoes black bean. Want some down home local grub. A place to come. Look for the red star across from the Lenin Statue.

We both got the 2 taco plate with rice and beans. I had the Saracha (sp? honey shrimp, and the Korean BBQ ribs. Beans and rice were non-descript. I thought I would like the shrimp better, but the Korean BBQ ribs - that is the ticket! Also had the $6 slushy margarita. All pretty good stuff. Pretty crowded on a Sat night, so we had to wait about 5 to 10 for a table. Go - I don' think you will be disappointed.

This was the best meal I had in Seattle. It was so good, I came back the next day. I had just about every variety of taco they serve, as well as the tamales. It was all so good, some of the best mexican food I've had. Definitely worth a stop.

Must come for HH! Fun ambiance and unique tacos from your typical taco menu. Good price as well. We will be back

Tacos, burritos and margaritas were on point! Breakfast taco was my favorite, but I don’t think you could go wrong. We will be back.

Very authentic Mexican. I had the 3 taco meal.. very very good.. fresh queso. Great pico.. we tried a halipenjo marguita..OMG, probably the hottest thing I've had in years... Doesn't creep up on you.. just hits you immediately.. HOT !. Note.. it's kinda loud/dark... But the food came quickly and service was great

After not finding many options for lunch at the Sunday market, we headed round to Red Star as we'd passed it on our way. The food was decent, the guy behind the bar was super friendly and made us some good suggestions. Their bean and cheese dip was delicious and almost meant I had no room for the rest of my food. It was super quiet when we went at lunch but imagine it to be a much more 'happening' place in the evening.

Popped in for a drink. Sat at the bar and told the bartender we needed a minute. Twenty minutes later, he hadn't come back and we couldn't get his attention. Waited another 10 minutes before giving up and I don't understand because it wasn't even buy. Finally switched to a table for serve. The drinks were good but pricey. Definitely not worth waiting 30 minutes for. We left after only one drink and went to the bar next door instead. Much better experience

We stopped here for tacos and drinks after our #optoutside adventure on Black Friday. The menu has a great selection of tacos. It included three kinds of fish tacos. I tried two (baja and blackened) and enjoyed them both. Also a great cocktails menu. I had the Old Cadillac Margarita. Service was attentive. Overall it was a good visit.

Good place to have various tacos on the same plate Good House Margareta’s were enjoyed. Best Taco of the night was “Short Ribs” on a Flour Tortilla ($5.00). The Taquitos were good. You have different ordering options (3 various tacos for $8.00), (3 various tacos for $11.00), Chips and Salsa are $2.00 for the table. It was fun and we will be back.

We popped in for a quick lunch. It was perfect - a couple of interesting tacos each and we had the right amount of food. Tried the tequila-lime chicken and the sweet potato black bean. Just enough lunch so we didn't ruin dinner!

Taco bowls are very filling. The quesadillas you get 2 cuts of a whole tortilla. Very hot (not spicy) temp. Tequila chicken delicious. Price was good.

just picked it out of the blue in the fremont district...taco tuesday is great tacos for $2. it's a comfortable popular local joint...great coctails too!

Nice options for all kinds of tacos, enchiladas, tamales. Good veggie choices and the chips and guacamole are plentiful. The happy hour tacos are a great deal - there is nothing as good like feeling you are a kid back in the 70' eating your mom's "ethnic" cuisine....Top this off with fun, very attentive servers: good place for a casual bite and drink.
Yum
Happened upon this while we were walking around Fremont and the yelp reviews did not disappoint. Tacos were AMAZING!!’
