The hubby & I enjoyed a date night here! I had the Blackened Redfish with cilantro cream sauce and he had the Sea Bass Bronzini. Topped it off with a delicious bread pudding dessert. All I can say is YUM! I can’t wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow for lunch!

my son and i have eaten in this restaurant on several occassions. it might not look great on the outside, but the food is exquisite. i thought of bringing my friends here. let them savior the "moment." a friend is very picky and will not eat sushi. ok.ok...i know, for us shushi lover nothing to it. but this friend of mine got intrigue and ordered cajun roll and she ate the sushi roll. this is just how good this restaurant. i made my friends appreciate the food they ate and will be coming back. make a reservation during weekends. you have to wait without the reservation. enjoy

This restaurant has great sushi and seafood. Their appetizers and sauces are Diners, Driveinns and Dives worthy. I'm surprised this place has not shown up on that show. The atmosphere and service is top notch. If you are a first time visitor to the restaurant, you can ask to taste test their various sauces and are allowed to mix and match with the seafood dishes. They have an excellent home made ginger flavored salad dressing. Go early during lunch and dinner as it fills up quickley.

I made the one hour drive to be able to experience similar menu items to Blue Onyx which is no longer open. My family and I were the first customers when the restaurant opened for dinner. While our waiter was great, the chef David Chang made a point to mingle and converse with other patrons and not my table of three. Despite me coming there and inquiring about items that were at the previous restaurant and generously ordering food and beverages, Chef Chang did not speak or offer the warm interactions that he did the other later arriving patrons. The only conclusion that I can come to is that he chose not to offer a Black family the same service. In this climate and economy, I am more mindful of whom I support and would recommend that nobody else does either.

Love the Redfish Seafood Restaurant. Always great service and delicious food. Prices are reasonable and menu selection is diverse.

They don't particularly specialize sushi roll or sashimi here for sure. Rice, fish, everything was too cold. Even miso soup was cold and I had to ask to reheat. This is nothing more than your neigborhood supermarket sushi/sashimi. If you want to have an oriental-inspired fusion seafood dish, this reststaurant may satisfy you. But this is nothing close to good/authentic japanese cuisine. Don't be fooled by high ratings like we did.

We always try and eat here when visiting our friends in Houston and it never disappoints, would definitely recommend.

Unassuming exterior and downstairs. Sit upstairs. These owners have a staff that cares. Owners are so friendly. Obviously it's expected of those that work there. The presentation of all thier dishes is quite beautiful. Looks like something you'd expect to see at the River Oaks area restaurants. See alot of the same people there every time we go. You can count on a really good meal at Redfish.

One of the best sushi and seafood restaurants north of town. Went back over last night with a group of 4 for dinner and although the place was packed the service was great and everyone is extremely friendly! The sushi is out of this world, a huge selection and great portions. All the fish is great and the presentations, gorgeous. Last time I had the Blackened Redfish and my wife had the Treasures of the sea. Both were outstanding and my wife, not liking blackened dishes asked that the scallops not be blackened and they accommodated her a baked version... outstanding, This time she had the Lobster Mornay, I had the Thai Shrimp and our other party had the fish & chips and Mahi Mahi. Everything was fresh the sauces to die for and service excellent. Will be back again soon!

This place is like no other. The best Sushi is fresh and very delicious. The service is fast and the waiters and waitresses are friendly. The atmosphere is nice. I go there every time I'm in Houston. This place is a must go. 👍🏼👍🏼

Best fresh fish, Sushi & seafood in Greater Houston area--we should know we've been eating here for 20 years--since it opened--and now we drive from Kingwood to Redfish in NW Houston for an always great meal. We especially like their Bronzini, Grouper, Red Snapper, Flounder, & Redfish. Served with fresh crispy veggies. Some non-seafood items but we've never tried them. Exit Hwy 249 (the Aggie Expressway) at Cypresswood. Tues-Sat. Lunch or Dinner but check hours first

Love their blackened redfish on the lunch menu. Inexpensive too. Pastas are good here too. Highly recommend.

Great visit to Redfish recently. Waitstaff went out of their way to expand our table of 8 to accommodate 12 at the last minute. Terrific food and never rushed us even though we were last group to leave that evening. We will be back for sure.

I'm not a seafood person but went to this restaurant with a group of friends. The atmosphere was good. Waitstaff was awesome. I ordered the shrimp and grits and the dish was excellent. The other people in our party also raved about their food. Splurged and ordered a desert...the white chocolate bread pudding was awesome. Definitely recommend this place.

This was our first time at Redfish Seafood Grill and we are already planning to come back again. We were celebrating a graduation and enjoyed the food and service. We started with sushi and I had the watermelon and tuna sushi. It was delectable and creative in its taste. I will get that again next time we are there. I enjoyed the spicy gulf snapper for dinner with the truffle sauce. It was the same sauce that we had on an appetizer which was tasty.the prices were excellent. The owner stopped by and she is very friendly and hospitable. We ate upstairs and is bright and airy. The area was quiet so we could hear easily and talk. The downstairs looked interesting and had a large aquarium. We highly recommend the Redfish Seafood restaurant.

Redfish seafood is a great place: to take the kids, have a romantic dinner, host a business dinner, or just enjoy some fantastic food. The staff is top notch but you go to Redfish for the food! The price is good and the food is delicious.

Think high end restaurant meets country dining. Food is excellent with plenty of choices. Wait staff work the room as a team meaning you won’t have an empty glass. The bread pudding rivals anything you would find in New Orleans. If you want seafood or steak or sushi- this place is for you.

We sat upstairs where it is quieter. The service was wonderful and the food very very good. We had never been to this area, but if we are back in the area will come again..

We have visited Redfish twice in recent months. Don't let the outside fool you into thinking "it's just another fish place" because it is far better than that. Redfish is gourmet seafood dining, well prepared, and nicely presented. We tried two fantastic dishes...the grouper, and shrimp in a creamy Madeira sauce. The sauce was probably a "smoky" Madeira base, and it was a sauce for other dishes beyond fish. The welcome is friendly; that's a switch in most restaurants these days. And...the service is attentive but not at all obtrusive. Even the "background music" was perfect. I'll give it "two thumbs up" and promise to be back at Redfish soon.

I had the lobster bisque soup and blackened redfish and both were excellent. They have a good selection of wine and the service was very good. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. I would definitely return to this restaurant and recommend to anyone wanting great seafood.

While in Houston recently, we visited Redfish Seafood and were so glad that we did. We arrived for a late lunch and were able to get the lunch specials which are good until 3PM. I had the Blackened Redfish with Chilpotle Crabmeat Sauce and my husband had his favorite seafood meal, fried shrimp. The sauce on the redfish was exquisite which I enjoyed mixing with the steamed Japanese rice and the fish was perfectly cooked. My husband had a question about the preparation of the shrimp, and one of the owners came to our table to explain that they "skewer" the shrimp before frying to help with its tenderness. (I hope I got that right!) Many of the customers seemed to be regulars known by the wait staff and called by name. About half of the orders were for their beautiful platters of sushi. There were awards on the walls stating "Best Sushi in Houston." The prices were reasonable and we would definitely be back more often, especially if we lived in Houston. Redfish Seafood is a well-run establishment.

Don't let the outside fool you. The owners/chef of this place knows food. Great value for really good food. Highly recommend it as a go- to when looking for a place to take friends and relatives. Won't break your bank but the chef's food presentation and taste will make you feel like you are dining at a much more expensive place.

Love the food here whether I eat sushi or cooked seafood. Food is always fresh and the choices are interesting. They have a big menu. You could be overwhelmed by the choices but everything we have had so far has been great. The rolls are huge. Really get your money's worth on the rolls.

My husband and I dined at this restaurant. Our first visit because our son's girlfriend works there. My review is not biased because she works there....just so you know :) I ordered the fried shrimp and my husband had a bowl of gumbo as well as the catfish. As we are not sushi eaters, I can't comment on that food. We ordered the fried mushrooms. I had a glass of chardonnay, their house wine. For dessert, we had a scrumptous chocolate cheesecake (absolutely divine and very rich!). The food was well prepared, brought to us timely, and hot. The portion size is just perfect. We sat in the bar area because all Kira's tables were full in the restaurant. It was a great experience and we will be back!

Been here several years ago but do not remember their fantastic menu. Been there twice for lunch lately and am very impressed. I love sashimi and they have a great combo plate. I had lobster bisque that was outstanding. She had fried shrimp that the make fresh she said it was her best yet. There menu has something for everyone in seafood and landlubber food. They even have a hot rice bowl that I have not seen in a very long time, the last time was in asia. They heat up a stone bowl and add rice with fish chicken or beef. Plan to try next time. Please get on line and check them out. This is a can't miss place. Decore is not fancy but nice and amazing salt water fish tank a sushi bar and side rooms for big groups. Service great. Prices reasonable. Easy access on frontage road for 249 north north of 1960.

We had a ton of sushi. Everything on the menu was amazing. Our server, Lexi, was prompt, happy and attentive. Great place.

I really enjoyed the chef's special sea bass. The sauce was very nice. The atmosphere doesn't match the quality of the food. Great place.

Although this restaurant is a ways out of Houston on the Tomball Freeway it is well worth the drive. It is a two story restaurant with a nice dining room upstairs, which they do not allow small children. The downstairs dining area and bar can be noisy. We made reservations and ate upstairs. Our waitress was very friendly and the food excellent, we both had the Salmon for our main course.

Redfish is one of my favorite sushi roll spots. The Firecracker roll, topped with spicy tuna, is outstanding! Also, the firecracker and hot chic rolls are very good. The food quality is consistent, the service is usuall quite good and the prices are excellent compared to similar restaurants.

This is our favorite place to go for FRESH seafood! The chef gets his seafood ....the freshest in town. The restaurant is also known all around Houston for their sushi. You will not be disappointed.

This place has been on my hubby and my "favorites" list for years. We would have cravings for the NYC roll. The past three experiences have been terrible service wise. Enough that we probably won't take the chance in giving it another chance. Since we have been going there which is about eight years there has been a "Now Hiring" banner hanging outside the restaurant. This may be the reason for the slow food and service as they probably have a revolving door of staff. It's really too bad. They added on a floor upstairs that seems to have been when the problems started.

I love sushi and have had it at many different locations. But no place has ever come close to Red Fish sushi. Always fresh. Always delicious. This place will NOT disappoint a sushi lover. The fish lover roll is the best!!

Not a bad place for lunch, although not to the level of expectations the previous reviews had created. Very good lobster bisque, but the 2 fish dishes and the sashimi and sushi we had in our group were just OK.

Excellent Seafood we met another couple here, they said it was their favorite seafood place. I agree this is a great casual seafood and sushi restaurant, the main floor of the restaurant is more casual the upstairs seating has the white table cloths. I had the stuffed lobster tail and escargot it was amazing. Save room for dessert they are fantastic

Redfish is the first place I ever had sushi. They have become the standard that I rate any other place and all others have fallen short. I LOVE the 'Happy Roll' and get it most times I am here. I wonder why I torture myself by even trying other places.

Looking for seafood and can't get down to the coast, we were. The corporate owned chains, even the nicer ones leave us with that "been there, done that" feeling and we just couldn't easily find the local seafood hangout. Our friend suggested a place she'd found while researching seafood on the internet and she joined us for an extraordinary feast located along 249 in the burbs. The menu is fun mix of what might be called Asian fusion. But this place is not easy to find a label for. Tempura shrimp came as an appetizer with a delicious sauce billed as a salsa, but presenting as a zestier and classier version of catsup. and the waiter also provided a thick teriyaki upon request...great combo! The lobster bisque was smooth with lovely bits of veggies and lobster and left me wanting more. My companions had the Mahi Mahi and the Halibut/Scallops in a cedar boat. These dishes were served beautifully adorned with flowers and their tastes were superb, I know, they shared. Nothing was too spicy, but I'm sure that they would have gladly provided more spice for those desiring the heat. We did not sample the extensive sushi offerings. Beer, wine and saki were also available, but they were unfortunately out of the plum saki I wanted. The pear was a pleasant substitute. The atmosphere is rustic with a small dining room downstairs, a small "boat" dining area as well as a larger upper floor dining room featuring murals with caricatures of locals. We will definitely be back when we are next in town and will highly recommend it to local friends as a place for an evening dining adventure.

This place has a huge menu with some of the freshedt fish in town. Grouper with scallops was out of this world. Thai mahi was fantastic too.

Our party of eight people enjoyed dinner this evening at Redfish Grill. I love the fact that they have a lot of menu options. We ordered edamame, oysters Rockefeller, Parmesan crusted oysters, and calamari for appetizers. All were delicious. My first time eating their baked oysters and we cleaned up two dozen of them! My nephew had steak. Many of us had sushi. My husband always gets the House Special Roll and the Symphony Roll. My sister’s SURF AND TURF roll was delicious. I had one of my favorites, the Gulf Snapper with chef’s special sauce. They also have excellent desserts so you have to save some room for it. It’s a great place to go when you want good food, good service, large portions, and nice ambience.

Great seafood, sushi and service! We have been numerous times and have never been disappointed! I've had multiple sushi dishes, flounder, sea bass, snapper and cioppino and all have been outstanding. While the service each time is very good the last few times we had a server, named Shea I believe, who has been outstanding! Great for birthdays or anniversaries with 8-12 (or more) one of the owners has always come over and made sure we were satisfied. Don't let the location or parking lot fool you-great place for seafood especially upstairs where the walls have caricatures of regulars.

My wife, daughter and I had supper at Redfish on Saturday before Mothers day. We ordered a sushi roll for our appetizer. It was delicious and plenty for the three of us. My wife ordered the Sea Bass, my daughter had shrimp with cheese grits and Kobe beef, and I had the Blackened Redfish. All were excellent. Service was very good. They even let us change tables when it was clear a group of 12 would soon be seated right behind us. We shared an outstanding Chocolat mousse for desert. This was our first visit and we were pleased and will return. The only thing that would have made it better would have been having our son and his girl friend with us!

Stop looking for sashimi Location and environment nice not fancy Sashimi fresh and well presented. Had seafood gumbo was good but could have more spice. Surprised that a sushi restaurant does not have miso soup

Doesn't look like much from the outside, tucked between Lowe's and Jack in the Box on the 249 feeder road ... however; food is excellent and offers a kids menu! Honestly, we hadn't been in awhile, because it USED to smell like bleach! But or last visit smelled normally! 3 seating area: sushi bar in the "boat" section, busy action dining downstairs and more quiet dining upstairs!

This restaurant has the best seafood around, the sushi is great and don't miss the appetizers. We have visited many seafood restaurants and this is not all breaded up..the menu is very diversified and the service is great. You will have to make reservations if it is during prime dinner time or get there early. We usually share a meal since one meal is a pretty large serving for us. Enjoy

Great neighborhood atmosphere, excellent happy hour and a wonderful place to meet friends and neighbors. Live the caricatures on the walls upstairs. Service is exceptional. Prices are very reasonable with ample portions.

This place is a fairly large 'dive' with GREAT Seafood and Sushi. I LOVE their escargot... Possibly the best I've had! There is a Sushi bar but not really a bar to just drink. Really fun drink selections like 'Cilantro Infused Tequila' and 'Lavender, Basil, Ginger Infused Vodka'.

We have been several times to Redfish and it is always very good. Owners know how to serve customers well! Lots of great sushi at very reasonable prices! Highly recommend this restaurant!

We're new to Houston and especially to this part of town (far northwest), so we are constantly collecting reviews from friends and neighbors. Redfish was one of the first places our neighbors mentioned that we must try, so when the opportunity arose to dine there with some other locals, we jumped at it and were not disappointed. The menu has so many enticing choices, and our waitress intuited correctly that I was a mite overwhelmed. She saw me looking at the list of sushi and suggested that I have the Suzy Roll. Now, I am a bit of a sushi snob, so my initial thought was, "This isn't REAL sushi," but I read the ingredients and decided to give it a whirl. I also ordered a cup of gumbo. I'm also a gumbo snob. I was not disappointed in either choice and I look forward to returning for a BOWL of the gumbo and some more of these innovative sushi rolls and some of most other things on the menu. I tasted several of my dining companions' dishes, notably my partner's steak, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned; and my BFF's scallops, which were divine. The presentation is positively artistic. The place is quirky enough to appeal to my penchant for the unusual, and the location just four miles from our home cannot be beat. The only reason I cannot give it five stars: We had to send the wine back twice. How can a server possibly confuse Chardonnay for Cabernet? On the third and final attempt, she brought the Estancia Cabernet that we had initially requested and had been told was out of stock. So it isn't a place for wine snobs. So what? It's charming, popular, locally owned, and delicious. We'll be back.

Have had the sushi, the halibut, and a few other dishes. Everything has been great!

Fantastic in everything - what more can I say... Service excellent - food wonderful - sushi - wow - seafood wow! It's worth trying for sure and if you come enough they paint your face on the wall!

Our experience at the restaurant was fairly good. Fish cooked well, decent salad, good service (but not great). None of the desserts we wanted were available (and we were the first evening sitting). When I got home I got a very upset stomach (rare occurrence) so something there didn't agree with me. Maybe they use a unique spice that others don't and I'm unaware of an allergy, so I won't rate them as low as I probably should, but we won't be venturing back there.

I took a friend there for dinner. The wait staff was terrific. The restaurant had a comfortable feel. There was a great variety of choices. We had one chicken and one seafood dish. The food was great. Additionally, my date loved the presentation. It is obvious they take time with each entrée. That said, the price was extremely reasonable. I will go back!

Haven't been here in over 10 yrs and boy have we missed the boat. Their Shaggy Dog roll is to die for and the flounder topped with crabmeat is phenomenal. Also their Edamame may be the best in town. If you haven't been in a while it's time to go back!

Great Asian food. Best sushi ever! Casual atmosphere, friendly owners and waiters. Love the sea bass, salmon and California roll. Great selection and have never had a bad meal.

For the price don't think it's worth it.... The calimare was OK the salad with chicken average.... The sushi roll had decent flavor but the rice had not much flavor.. The chicken tendors were ok.. Would I come back just for the food probably not....

We go here for lunch at least once or twice a month. I do not eat any meat other than fish so I am very happy to have this so close to home. The fish I have ordered is always fresh and there is such a variety. Went for dinner a couple times but the wait is so long and then you wait forever for your meal. Do yourself a favor and go for lunch and be sure to order that shrimp tempura thing with the avocado. Everyone I have taken here loves that appetizer. They have a decent selection of wine too.

Redfish is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the northwest Houston area and not just because their sushi is fresh, delicious, and creative. This restaurant also offers a wide variety of other dishes, from yummy seafood to tender, flavorful prime rib. So sushi lovers can dine with their picky friends. You can't go wrong with any of their huge, delicious sushi rolls - come hungry!

I recently ate at Red Fish Grill with about 20 colleagues for a team dinner. The decor is deliberately "folksy" and gives the place an unsophisticated charm, but the food is the real star here. We ordered a bunch of appetizer plates between all of us, including several sushi plates. As a group we also mostly ordered seafood entrees as well, so I can't comment too much on the non-seafood menu. But the impression of the sushi and seafood dishes across the board was enthusiastically positive. The surf and turf sushi was the hit of the night, and several people who ordered more traditional sushi commented on the freshness and tastiness of the dishes. The sauces (like the martini sauce) were creative and delicious as well. The service was a bit uneven, but that is not unexpected with such a large group. The location is not great if you're downtown, but is convenient if you're anywhere near Highway 249 and north Houston. The prices overall were very reasonable for the portions and the the quality of the food. I will definitely try to visit Red Fish again on my next trip to Houston.

Rolled into town for business, looked for a place to have a nice dinner, say Redfish on my GPS and once I got there I almost didn't turn into the parking lot. The outside doesn't do this place justice. That said - the Firecracker and spicy tuna rolls were wonderful! Great flavor and very nice presentation. I added edamame as a light starter with iced tea this evening. Very professional service, yet also friendly waitresses. And, a really cool (huge) fish tank right by the entrance! Try this place out - you'll enjoy it.

Having a business meeting in Houston, I drive in the night before and always seek out on TA some good restaurants in the hotel area. I knocked it out of the park with this one. It is a two story structure right on the frontage road so you don't ever know the quality but this place is incredible. I had the stuffed flounder, one had the fish and chips, and one had the sea bass. All were exceptionally prepared. As you enter - if you are looking for sushi - the bar is downstairs as well as some of the seating. We arrived early and were seated upstairs. It is quieter, the tables have table cloths, and there are large windows for lighting. Arrive early! by the time we left at 6:45 - there was an extensive waiting list to get in. Good wine selections and bar drinks.

Have been to Redfish several times. Usually for special occasions birthday celebrations. The sushi is really good and fresh and they have a great variety of unusual rolls

It breaks my heart to write this review because this place came highly recommended by other business owners in the community and we were so excited to dine. In route, we used trip advisor to read the reviews and view directions. Online business hours were written as 11:00am - 9:00pm on Sunday. We arrived at approximately 1:45pm and decided to sit at the sushi bar. We were greeted by our waitress. We decided to order a bottle of wine and start with appetizers. We informed our waitress we'd be enjoying many items on the menu to which she replied "No problem." After our appetizers arrived, we asked for a few moments to select an entree. Our waitress came back and asked in a strong tone "Are y'all going to order anything else?" At this point I thought maybe she's supposed to be off now. I responded, "Is it time for you to be off?" She told us yes it was. I asked if she could transfer us to another table so we could order without causing her to stay late to which she replied "Sure." Two minutes later, she came back and informed us we would have to leave because guests aren't allowed to eat after 3pm because the chef takes a break. I asked to speak with a manager. He came over and stated yes we would have to leave. Keep in mind we had and entire bottle of wine we had not consumed. I then explained we were first time guests and we were not aware guests couldn't eat or would be refused service at 3pm sharp. I also informed him #TripAdvisor shows hours of operation from 11AM - 9PM, to which he replied "That doesn't matter." We paid our tab of $58.22 and left a tip to make a point! It was the most disappointing heartbreaking experience ever! I can't believe this actually happened.

This is one of my favorite sushi places. Always compare other sushi places to Red Fish. Great rolls, great sauces. Happy to add/remove ingredients if you ask. Usually eat there a few times a month.

I’ve been here several times and the food is normally very good, but not this last time. First of all, the place has a bar/restaurant downstairs, with a nicer restaurant upstairs. The building’s outside looks so so, but the inside upstairs is nice. The parking lot is too narrow, and in general a mess. It’s hard to get into or out of on a busy night. The food is normally very good, but on our last visit it wasn’t up to par. My wife’s flounder was over cooked and my sushi and roll was on the dry side. It’s as if they let it sit there for a while before serving it to me. We were there with a group of eight, and I understand trying to get all the food out at one time, but the timing was off this time.

Last Night for Dinner my Wife and I invited a Dear Friend, John Leslie, to join us at Redfish Seafood Grill ... his Favorite spot. Redfish is Awesome and we have ate their a lot over the past few years. I made reservations for us downstairs at 6pm. My Wife and I picked up John at his home and we arrived at Redfish right on time. We were greeted when we walked in and shown to our table all set up for us, even with a White Table Cloth. John has been coming here for years and years aisnd years ... they know him very well. Chalice is our Server and after we looked over the Drink menu, we placed our order. White Zinfandel for us and a Martini (his usual) for John. When our drinks arrived we toasted and chatted for awhile, in no hurry to order. We decided not to have any appetizers and after looking over the Menu, Chalice took our order. My Wife is ordering her meal from the Appetizer Menu, the 'Tempura Fried Shrimp' with Southwestern Salsa. Those Shrimp are Huge and enough for an entire meal. She also ordered a House Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. I am having the 'Blackened Redfish with Chipotle Crabmeat'. Served with Asian Mixed Vegetables. John is having their 'Lobster Bisque' Soup. While we waited for our food, we chatted some more and enjoyed our drinks. From time to time, the Staff here would stop by our table and chat for awhile. My Wife's Salad came out first and and shortly after, the rest of our food arrived. We ordered another round for us to enjoy with our food. Johns 'Lobster Bisque' looks Delicious and he said it was ... and Very Flavorful. My Wife Loved her Shrimp and that Southwestern Salsa is Very Tastylicious. These Shrimp are HUGE, very Fresh and Tasty. There is enough in there for a complete meal and it taste Soooooo Gooooood. My Blackened Redfish with that Crabmeat Sauce is Spicyliciousness. Fresh, Tasty and just down right Deliciousness. The Asian Mixed Vegetables are really food with lots of flavor. It's always hard to decide what to order when we go to Redfish because everything they have on the Menu is Deliciousness. This is why it has been on my Best List, and the 'Tempura Fried Shrimp' is also on my Best Appetizers List in all the area. The Breading on those Large Shrimp is Golden Brown-liciousness. After we finished it was time for Dessert but we were full from all the Delicious food we ate ... but that didn't stop us. They brought out their Famous 'White Chocolate Bread Pudding' for us to share. This has to be the Best White Chocolate Bread Pudding in the Whole Wide World. I know this because it's Johns Recipe he gave them and they modified it just a bit. Served Warm with Awesome Tastyliciouslyliciousness in every bite. It was Wonderful getting together with John once again. We both have been really busy the past several months and finally found the time to enjoy a Beautiful Texas Evening at Redfish Seafood Grill. Chalice earned the Dollar-Bow-Tie Award and Loved it. The Service at Redfish always makes you feel like you're part of their Family ... and the Food ... WOW is it some good stuff. Beautiful Presentation with every dish. Check out Redfish on-line ... They have another Restaurant in the Galleria Area called; Blue Onyx Bistro by Executive Chef David Chang ... Both places offer some of the Best Sushi around. Thank You John for you Friendship over the years and for a Wonderful Evening out. We've been Friends ever since we moved to this area 10 years ago. Thank You Baby for all that you do and you do a lot. Love You Bunches & Munches. (note: My pictures are a little on the dark side due to the low lighting Redfish offers and I don't use a flash inside restaurants)

Food is always good. This time instead of ordering the usual wine with our meal we tried mixed drinks. Cranberry and vodka to be specific. Was a little disappointed at the price and quality, but what I found odd was that the cranberry was a separate charge from the alcohol. Really? And it's the powdered bar version of cranberry, not that great. They tasted good but were just weak on the vodka part and for $8.50 ea. Guys, when you make a mixed drink put everything in it and don't skimp on it!!! When you charge that much, deliver!!!

Food was good, good value, crab puffs were great and stuffed mushrooms were tasty.

We have eaten here many times and the quality of the fish never disappoints! Once again the food is heavenly! The service is great and the people are so nice. I love this place. Don’t let the exterior fool you. If you love sushi then this is the place to go!

Went for a business meeting. Huge variety of dishes for non-vegetarians. The edamame was awesome. I also had a a pineapple juice. And some cranberry juice. Should have tried the veggie salad that sums up the veggie delight. They organize th dishes well.

Qent there today for some appetizers. I barely have words for this experience. We ordered the following: 1. Stuffed Mushrooms Mushrooms coverwd in stale tasteless breading and fried. They looked like grey brown balls 2. Crab puffs I could not taste the crab due to the beige (?) Cream Cheese filling. Over fried 3. Rock shrimp Frozen cocktail shrimp covered in some horrible sauce (see pic) Would have been One Star but our waitress Morgan was terrific

It doesn't really look all that fancy from the outside. In fact, it is almost too easy to miss even seeing the restaurant from the exit road on the highway. But once you find it, you will be glad you did! Just look for the restaurant where there is hardly any parking available because so many got there ahead of you. The menu is of course is dedicated to seafood. Yes there are steaks should you so desire. There is the ability to eat inside, out on the patio or near the sushi bar. I did not have a choice. They were so packed out, my only option was the sushi bar. Lots of seafood options and the price was very mid-range. I don't even believe I saw anything on the menu for over $30. I chose the Salmon au gratin with garlic mashed potatoes. The salmon, (with spinach) was the most moist I have even eaten and that is a fact! Everything I ate was cooked to perfection. Will I go back should I revisit that area? DUH!

Appetizer: California roll-good, but seaweed was thick & chewy-ginger was white, not pinkish, as pickled ginger should be. Stuffed mushrooms-deep fried in corn meal batter-was actually ok, until we got to the dipping sauce, which was awful. Requested ranch, got sour cream with seasoning in it. Entrees: Fried fish-overcooked, with burnt pieces of cornmeal. Tempura shrimp was actually the best part of the meal. "Treasures of the Sea" platter-Where to start?-2 scallops undercooked, on top of rice and seaweed that all had the same awful sauce as was on the mushrooms, except orange instead of white. Crab leg (1 small) was cold and dry, on top of the same seaweed and rice with disgusting orange sauce on it. Lobster tail was ok, stuffed with crab cake, that was below Red Lobster. At least they didn't put that orange sauce on this... Drinks and service were good. Tab was $85-Paid $107- not the waitresses fault. I shared the California roll, ate 1 mushroom, 2 undercooked scallops, lobster tail, after I scraped the crab cake off of it. I also ate 2 of my wife's shrimp & a bite of her burnt fish. Feel like I should have gotten more for my money. Blue Water seafood next time...

We had a wonderful meal of sushi rolls. The service was speedy, professional and pleasant.

As we were returning to Oklahoma, My uncle met us to have lunch and we were wanting sushi. None of us had eaten here before so we decided to give it a try. After walking in and seeing the menu, and the prepared food being served I knew I was going to like this place. We order a few rounds of sushi and I was very impressed. I plan on returning, as my uncle has already been there a few times since then.

I had the Lobster Bowl. They honored my request to put it in a bowl instead of the Bread bowl. The sauce was very good. I wish the lobster was not in the shell in the sauce, makes for messy eating. The Salt water aquarium was beautiful. Service was very good.

About 10 of us visited on a Saturday evening ...not our first visit and certainly not our last. We were greeted by the owner and immediately felt 'at home'. Our waiter was exceptionally cordial and very attentive to detail .half full water glasses were always filled. We never felt rushed while ordering and the food came out all at the same time with minimal wait time. Everything was exactly as ordered. BUT, as all too usually happens, our waiter did not disappear after the food was served. He wasn't pushy but was always in the background, answering an occasional question and clearing serving platters & plates as necessary. The overall impression was as near a perfect a dining experience as one could expect, especially for a party of ten.

6 of us ate here last night. Everyone loved their meal (ahi tower, tuna and salmon sashimi, Bronzino, sea bass and a filet). Service was wonderful as well.

I've been to Redfish twice, good experience for both. A lot of choices have been provided and they're delicious. Plus the serving size is huge. I would recommend this restaurant.

The food was great when we finally got a table! I had flounder stuffed with crabmeat - very tasty. Mark doesn't eat seafood so he had the roast duck - also very good.

We were encouraged to eat here by the good reviews we saw online. The exterior of the restaurant and parking area as well as the ambience inside do not really match the gourmet-looking dishes they serve. The outside and inside have an ordinary, unassuming "oyster bar" look but the plating and presentation of the food makes you think you are in a fancy restaurant. The lady who served us was very friendly and always had a smile. We are not sushi lovers but we like seafood so she steered us to the restaurant's popular non-sushi entrees. She checked on us constantly without hovering over us. We came in a group and our order came out very quickly (maybe no more than 15 minutes after we ordered), so that was really much appreciated. My husband and I ordered two different dishes (he got the Blackened Redfish with Spicy Chipotle Sauce and I got the Hawaiian Lemon Snapper) but we were served the same side dish - a sauteed mixture of Asian vegetables - which was quite delicious, we both agreed. Our fish dishes were OK, although my husband said too much sauce overwhelmed the taste of the redfish. My dish had a delicious sauce although I didn't really taste the lemon. I had a big thick serving of fish which was good at first bite but later had a very slight aftertaste that made me think it may not be very fresh. One of my kids got the Korean steak which was super tender and she enjoyed it a lot; another one got a different steak dish which he also liked. The youngest kid got a big serving of chicken strips and fries which she shared with everyone and those were likewise enjoyed. I am sure the rave reviews on their sushi are well-deserved but since we didn't get that, we can only rate them according to what we got. I think our fish dishes were not as good as we had expected and the entrees were rather pricey, thus the 4-star rating, but everything else was satisfactory.

We have had sushi all over Houston and we always come back to Redfish. The fish is always fresh and the sauces that David the owner makes are simply to die for. We had the Surf &Turf and the White Tiger and we enjoyed them both more than I can explain. If you are looking for amazing sushi it is worth a try. You will not be disappointed. Also I should add we have tried numerous fish dishes on the menu and they never disappoint. Again I can not say enough about the sauces!!!!

We tried four different entrees and three appetizers and each was excellent. The seafood was prepared excellently and the presentations were outstanding. There are still many other entrees that sounded great so we will have to try them on future visits. The margaritas were also pretty awsome.

When we were in Houston this was our go-to venue for seafood. Now we live in Georgia we still visit at least once on every trip back to Houston, as most of our friends want to take us there for lunch or dinner. Redfish is a privately owned restaurant with a good reputation for Sushi, though their hot food is always so tempting that I have yet to try more than a mouthful of one or other Sushi rolls from my wife's plate. Their lunch menu is good value, and with fast service makes an attractive option for business meals. Of the main courses it is difficult to pick a favourite, however the grilled Mahi Mahi, Glazed in Sweet Chili sauce, served over a bed of stir fried vegetables, is a dish that always hits the spot. My wife is working her way through the extensive Sushi menu and to date has loved every one! The restaurant is extremely busy at weekends and evening reservations are recommended on any day.

Had a great dinner at Redfish Grill tonight. Called ahead for a reservation. Was seated promptly. Service was good. Food was delicious as always. I had the flounder stuffed with crab. The sautéed vegetables were delicious! We order four types of sushi rolls. The favorites are always the House Special roll and Symphony Roll. Their desserts are always delicious! Haven’t had a bad one yet! The bread pudding and chocolate explosion are amazing!

We've heard that Redfish has more than just sushi, but we just can't bring ourselves to go there and get anything else. There is a fried shrimp appetizer that has their homemade salsa and guac (I know it sounds weird), but it's wonderful! 3 sushi rolls stand out for us, the silver king roll, rolita roll and curt's paradise roll. All are excellent! One day we'll try the other things on the menu!

We have gone to Redfish many times over the years and have always enjoyed the food and service. We prefer to dine upstairs, where it is quieter and has a nicer ambiance. The menu is large plus there are also a few daily specials to consider. We are not sushi experts but those who are often comment that Redfish offers the best and most varied sushi in the area. For the main dishes, some of our favorites include; crab cakes with mango salsa, grouper and scallop with a ginger and key lime sauce and the flaming cedar plank red snapper. The only starter we have tried was the Tempura shrimp which was easy to share and tasted great. The service has always been very good and the staff provide honest meal and drink recommendations. As noted in the title, we have never been disappointed.

The restaurant itself is a normal small house outside of Houston and when you see it you may believe that you better choose another place! This would be a wrong decision as the restaurant itself has been fitted well, it is clean and there is also a terrasse. The waitress was very helpful, sympathetic and professional and, last but certainly not least, the sushis we chose were absolutely fantastic! Next time we'll be in the neighbourhood we certainly be back there!

My wife and I live in SW Houston but decided to spend the afternoon in Willowbrook mall. So I looked for a user rating ranking of nearby fish restaurants. This one came on top. The menu selections were very enticing. So we went. I ordered the grouper and my wife order the coho. I have been to various fish restaurants in Houston and Sugarland and this food is amazingly good/tasty. Could be the best fish I have had in Houston metro in the last year or so (much better than Oceanaire/Galleria, Papadeaux Seafood and Bonefish). Worth taking the extra trip down 249. Highly recommended!

It was my first visit to the Red Fish. I was looking for good and affordable fish place to meet my friend for lunch. I'll be honest, outside view is not impressive. But when you get inside you like the atmosphere of hospitality and old fashion look of a good fish place. You can choose one of their two stories which is convenient especially if you come with kids. Our servant, young man, patiently helped us to make right choice with food we like. And everything from appetizers to soups and entrees was sooooo delicious. Thanks so much ! I like this place! Highly recommend !

Party of six enjoyed very good seafood from appetizers through entrees. Prices were very reasonable. I had stuffed flounder, very fresh and priced at $18.95. All six of us were very pleased with the food and service and atmosphere. Now the "but" part . . . One of our group had the window of his rental car smashed and his laptop, tablet and briefcase were stolen from the vehicle while parked in the restaurant lot. A warning commonly given is do not leave anything of value in your auto - a sign with this warning was posted on the door to the restaurant. Heed the warning and the enjoy your meal. Obviously not a fault with the restaurant - but a reminder applicable anytime your vehicle is parked in a public place. Will return next time we are in the area.

The first time I ventured into Redfish I was a little skeptical, as both the location and the atmosphere didn't yield impressions that it'd be a place for top notch sushi. However, upon reading the menu (especially the sushi menu) I found myself quite surprised at the level of depth, complexity and art that the menu possessed. However, the food itself is obviously what yields the truth in the matter. Redfish's sushi is, without a doubt, some of the finest sushi I have eaten (and I've eaten at a lot of sushi joints.) The presentation, the quantity, the elegance, the taste, all of it sets a new bar for even some of the most trendy inner-city sushi restaurants. I thoroughly enjoy eating here.

I usually never make it past the sushi. Great options and fresh flavor. Dinner menu looks terrific and my family never complains, but i got to have the sushi.

Because of the good reviews on TA, we decided to try Redfish for lunch. What a great place!! We loved the food and will definitely be back, looking forward to trying some rolls

In my honest opion this has to be the best sushi that I have found. Forget Las Vegas or New York. Go here. This has to be a stop on your journey. If going on Fri or Sat make a reservation or you will be waiting.

We were frequent guests at this Restuarant when we lived in Houston and we try to visit this restaurant or it's sister resturant on Higway 290 in Cypress, TX whenever we are in Houston. The rolls are excellent and you get 12 large pieces per roll instead of the 6 to 8 skinny pieces served by most sushi restaurants. The sauces for all of the dishes are unique and homemade by the resturant's creative owners, David and Rolita. While they specialize in seafood, my son's favorite dish is their Asian chicken. This a great family run restuarant serves great and unique food at a very reasonable prices.

We tried the sushi which seemed average but I am no expert on sushi. The menu seemed varied and many items other than sushi. Reasonable prices. A friend of son is hostess. We saw her. We sat outside. A good setting outside and inside. I live so close to the restaurant I could almost walk there.

I've been here a few times, years ago. I took my husband there this weekend and he loved it! So did I! We had sushi rolls and they were all wonderful. They are huge though, 12 pieces each. We got 3 to split between the two of us and had about 12 pieces left over. My husband ate them for dinner last night. I forgot how really good the food is. Service was also wonderful too.

Great neighborhood sushi and seafood restaurant. Bang-for-the-buck, it can't be beat.

We use to frequent the location in Cypress and miss it terribly. This is the 3rd time we have been to the 249 location and finally got a table upstairs. I had heard it was nicer and it really is. I had the ocean smokehouse. The salad with the ginger sesame dressing was really good but my main dish.. was amazing. I had gotten the ocean smokehouse before and I remember liking it but it was amazing tonight. I was in love with my dinner from the first bite. I don't mind paying $20 for a meal when it is that good. Hubby had blacked redfish and enjoyed it too. Thank you for the amazing food.

Great experience, food and service. Fresh seafood, excellent cocktails, comfortable atmosphere. All around yummy!

It must be very difficult to obtain mouthwatering fresh sashimi-grade tuna and tuna in the middle of the country but Redfish scores everytime. They must have very good conections and excellent coordination with suppliers to maintain the quality that they can deliver. Never had a bad meal at Redfish the fried shrimp is ono and the sushi is "broke da mouth"

I always get the smoke house. It was amazing as usual. Hubby had to die for shaggy dog sushi. The redfish was just ok. The service was good but slow. They did have 2 large parties but we had a 7:30pm reservation and it took awhile to get out food. I love that the smoke house always tastes exactly the same. Amazing

Went for lunch with my family. This restaurant is set in the end of a Lowe’s and 249 parking lot, but do not let that fool you! Quickly seated on the second floor. Service was amazing throughout the meal. There when we needed him, but not overcrowding. The Sushi was amazing. Spicy tuna, firecracker roll and salads. These rolls are large people! 12 pieces or so each. And delicious. Frozen mugs for those who would like a draft beer. Highly recommended for family, dates with a partner, or catching up with friends. We will be back! Change nothing - this place is a hidden jem!!

I’ve been to Redfish several times, but I’ve only had sushi on the previous occasions. I would say the sushi is middle of the road. Mostly good, but nothing great. However, for our last visit we went out with family and sat in the upstairs area and we all ordered seafood. I have a new perspective of this place. On this trip, I ordered the Branzino, and it was excellent! I was amazed at how good it was. I’ve had it once before and it cost twice as much and was half (maybe) as good. There were a few other standout items, such as the colossal shrimp cocktail, but I thought the seafood dishes were better than the sushi. Maybe I got lucky, but I would take the Branzino over the sushi at Redfish every time.

After months of curiosity, we finally gave this a try. First off, any restaurant that serves a substandard salad and doesn’t even offer Thousand Island dressing is off my list already. Worst salad ever. The Chilean Sea Bass arrived as did the crab cakes and both were swimming in their own sauces. Maybe we ordered the wrong items, but still, as it stands, I have no plans to return.

Redfish is a hidden gem, this suburban Houston restaurant has some of the biggest (longest) sushi rolls you have ever eaten and they are delish! my husband doesnt eat sushi but loves the Redfish in chipotle sauce. We spend Saturday night dinners here along with birthday parties and I even get together with my girlfriends here, extensive menu all delish. Our go to restaurant.

Went to lunch there today. I had Sashimi which I love.. Found it great and reasonable. My associate had Asian chicken salad which he said was great and had a wonderful presentation. Atmosphere was casual but clean. Location is easy access. Will go back

Great sushie, fried fish, and general seafood selection. Has some eclectic choices for seafood preperation. Place is busy everytime i go, they have expanded quite a bit. Service is good. I talked with the owner one day about the fried fish and he went into detail about how they only use fresh Alaskan Pollack and seemed very proud of the product he had.

First time was not a charm. We took our daughter out for a farewell dinner and decided to try Redfish from recommendations we had received. The decor is unique on the top floor. We ordered sushi and crab cakes. The sushi arrived about 10 minutes after it was ordered which I would say was a reasonable time. The crab cakes took another 10 minutes - unfortunately, that was our daughter's dinner. The server came by a couple of times stating that she was checking on it, even mentioning that the manager was notified. In most restaurants, when food is delayed for that length of time, the manager will contact the customers and apologize for the delay. We didn't receive an apology nor any acknowledgement from management that the food was not served all at the same time. Service was slow. We had to ask for water refills and even the check. On the positive side, the food was tasty and presentation was nice. I don't think we will be returning to this restaurant any time soon.

Excellent!

Chilean Sea bass with bechamel sauce was only $19.99, so I doubted it was the real thing. If it wasn't, it sure fooled me! Portion size was twice the size of most restaurant servings of CSB also. My co-worker got stuffed flounder, which she said was excellent. It was also a very large portion. Presentation was nice. Lobster bisque was good, but I've had better. Give this place a try; you won't be disappointed.

Clean, fun and good food, ordered the sushi. My business associate ate the Halibut in sauce .. I had a bite ant it was mmmmm good ..

This was our 5th trip to Redfish. if we lived in the Houston area we'd eat here every week. The fish and sushi is the freshest anywhere. The preparation is unique and presentation is flawless. We started with an order of crispy, succulent, calamari; plenty for four. If you like shellfish, the Treasures from the Sea is the perfect sampler (Two Crabmeat Stuffed Sea Scallops, blackened, served with crabmeat stuffed Lobster Tail, served over Seafood Lobster Sauce). There's nothing shrimpy about the generous fried shrimp plate.

A great choice for sushi! Ask to be seated upstairs if you can -- the ambiance is MUCH nicer (fine dining vs. dark seafood joint). The sushi was good, the portions were large, the service was good, and the ambiance was nice (upstairs).

We go to this restaurant whenever we are in the area. Ive always felt like the staff could be more friendly. They are smiling and polite but somehow it feels insincere. Their entrance door always trips me One is locked and the other open when you turn the handle a certain way. This time when I went i tried to open it several times and couldn't. I thought the restaurant might be closed, After checking the timing i put force on the door and finally managed to opened it and realized the hostess along with 2 other servers were standing just inside the door just looking at my efforts! seriously??? you cant move and open the door for me? We ordered tempura shrimp which are the best appetizer at this place. Main course was mahi mahi and sea bass. I barely managed to get home after eating the sea bass and was in and out of the bathroom for the whole night. Our server girl was constantly seemed to be rushing us. Trying to clear the plates that we were eating from! like fork in the hand eating she asked "can I clear that out for you?" she constantly had this foreboding look on her face like she has had enough! FYI Just giving me a broad smile when you hand me the check saying "you all have a wonderful night" is not going to help with the tip! I don't think I would go back. If I am spending 70$ on meal for 2. I want to sit as long as I want , feel welcome, perhaps open the door for a lady if its tripping her and not get sick after the meal.

I wanted a crab cake for a starter which wasn't on the menu. So, the manager or owner provided one at a reasonable cost. The mixed vegetables were outstanding that accompanied my main. Headed there again for sure.

Dh and I have been coming here for so long I can't remember when our Redfish adventures actually began. We never miss a week, and there are some weeks we even make an excuse to go twice! We've celebrated many family birthdays, hosted book club meetings, and always - ALWAYS - bring our out of town guests. No one ever leaves hungry or disappointed. Their sashimi is the freshest. Their rolls are delicious and such a good value! So many unique and tasty fish entrees to choose from! The grankids love the fried shrimp, and EVERYONE loves the tempura shrimp appetizer. Rolita is always so wonderful, we feel like we're part of the family. We've been to both locations (249 near Tomball/Spring and 290 in Cypress) and each has its own special atomosphere. David is a creative and excellent chef! We love the food, we love the staff! WE LOVE REDFISH!!!

We drive by this nondescript restaurant every week. On a whim we decided to try it. The lower level is more like a bar, but the upper dining area is quite nice. The real surprise was the food. It was much better than the exterior of the restaurant would indicate. The prices were moderate and the food was delicious. We certainly will put it on our repeat visit list.

I love this place and the food is exceptional but service is consistently just bad. The sushi rolls are large, full and flavorful with some interesting ingredients in some. Sashimi is equally good and the fried calamari some of the best I've had. My husband likes the "real food" ie: cooked and none sushi related so this is the perfect match. The last few times we had sat upstairs and the waitstaff was typically slow. Was tempted to ask our waiter for his cell number so maybe we could reach him while he conversed. This past time we specifically said we wanted down stairs hoping it would be better. Not so and you kinda have to laugh. What waiter walks away half way through a appetizer order with a question waiting yo be answered? He didn't like some of the food as it creeped him out ( his words) but we just chilled and waited for the great food. Go with patience and a good appetite and you will not be disappointed.

If you like seafood and/or sushi, then this a is a place for you. It has a simple atmosphere with delicious food. Lunch is quite crowded (don't arrive at noon!,) but once you're seated you're served in a reasonable time. I particularly like the various seafood fish choices with a variety of toppings.

We had lunch today at Redfish Grill on highway 249 for the first time – we probably will not return. Today’s lunch started off great. Our crab meat stuffed mushroom appetizers were fantastic and the obviously made-from-scratch dressing on our salads were outstanding. But things went quickly downhill from there. My wife’s lobster bisque was quite watery. My crab stuffed flounder arrived with skin and tail attached and was not a very appetizing presentation. The taste was rather bland. My wife ordered the filet mignon topped with grilled shrimp. She asked for her steak to be rare, but it arrived medium well. The grilled shrimp on top of her steak were quite small. There was only one waitstaff person working on the second floor of the restaurant. He gets an A for effort, but was obviously overwhelmed by being the only person serving the entire second floor. There are plenty of great seafood eateries in Houston, but I think Redfish Grill is not one of them.

Since our first visit in 2013 we never miss a trip to Redfish when we're in The area. The 6 piece Tempura Fried Shrimp With Southwestern Salsa is the most flavorful tempura I’ve ever had. Husband had the Escargots de Bourgogne. 6 Escargots baked in herb butter, excellent, not too heavy on the garlic. My #1 entree is the awesome "Treasures of the Sea". Two Crabmeat Stuffed Sea Scallops, blackened, served with crabmeat stuffed Lobster Tail, served over Seafood Lobster Sauce. You can always count on fresh, unique fish dishes.

Love the NYC roll all the other different rolls to choose from. Always fresh...yummy!!

Redfish started several years ago in an old Texas icehouse so don't be put off by the building. The food that Chef Chang and his crew put out is terrific. The presentation is lovely, the quality excellent; particularly the sauces, which are what separates Redfish from the many chain seafood venues. All of this comes at the reasonable prices one expects from a neighborhood venue . Yesterday for lunch my wife had an excellent Red Curry Shrimp meal with good size shrimp, steamed rice and fresh brocolli in a lovely and tasty curry, with a side salad. I had a very good seafood fettuccine with shrimp, scallops, clams and fish piece tossed in a light and fine Champagne cream sauce. Both entrees were under $10 each for lunch. There are also a great sushi and basic fish and chips available. The wait staff are attentive and helpful if suggestions are needed. The only problem is that it can get crowded at both lunch and dinner, as the restaurant is close to the Hewlett Packard and Lone Star College campus and the new Vintage Shopping complex.

Been here a few times now and the Sushi is the best I’ve found in the Cypress area.. The service is also great. I think it’s the owner that comes around checking if everything is good.. each time we have been there she shows up and asks if everything was good.. To me that good service.. of course we’ve had nothing wrong..

Went there last night with my brother and his wife. We chose the upstairs dining room — great choice due to the art on the wall murals. This place is owned by an Asian gentleman, and while my redfish in a chipotle crabmeat sauce was out standing and my brother’s salmon salad was a similar hit, the hero of the nigh was his wife’s NYC sushi roll. It was excellent ( we all tasted it). Very good place and casual attire is fine.

Ok, we love fish and sushi, really love fish and sushi. Who would have thunk that in the Tomball / Cypress area one could find food this dang good. The Ahi Tuna Tower was perfectly fresh and beautiful. It had a really intriguing citrus splash on it and the poke style ahi tuna was just fabulous. The white dragon roll was awesome, spicy mayo covered with tempura crunch on top. If you are north of Houston, check the Redfish Grill out, you won't be sorry.

Excellent menu and choice food is wonderfu friendly atmosphere as well as service. My number one seafood choice.

We turned up on a Friday lunchtime: the staff were struggling to place 10 people - seemed very disorganised. Ordered an appetiser and drinks - they came quickly. The entrees arrived 15 minutes later: I ordered grilled fish and Asian julienne vegetables. The dish came with a champagne sauce - but rather than being subtle, they completely covered the veg - so a healthy meal became unhealthy very quickly. In addition, the rice arrived after the entrée was served - only a minute, but no rationale why it was delayed (after all, a cup of rice isn't so difficult to serve). The waitress was great and replaced my tea after a fly decided to take a drink.... Cleanliness was average - watching them clean tables was simply moving the crumbs around...odd.

Went to Redfish from a personal recommendation. Found out they had seafood cocktail (ceviche) and got excited. It was good but too heavy with a ketchup taste. Nice pieces of shrimp and fish though. Had the shrimp and lump crab bake and it was really good. It comes out very hot so be careful.

Went to this place with 12 people for a business lunch. The service was fast and the food was hot and great!!!! If you are in the area you need to eat here. 🍣 was good and the fish was fresh.

Great dinner tonight at Redfish Grill. My husband loves sushi and finds that Redfish Grill has better quality seafood than other sushi restaurants in Northwest Houston. They also serve Prime Rib (but were out of it tonight) which is one of my husband’s regular choices. The food this evening was excellent. We topped off our sushi order with a delicious warm bread pudding with toasted almonds. Can’t wait to go back!

W had two different types of sushi. They were both out of this world. I had the Sea Bass and it was great. My boyfriend had the red snapper which was supposed to have some kind of table side display which our server did over by the bar so we did not get to see it. Our service was not great but we did not mind it because we were with friends and were not in a big hurry. We just visited and enjoyed our company. The price of our meal was very reasonable for the quality of the food. We very much enjoyed our evening and will go back.

Went for lunch with my family. This restaurant is set in the end of a Lowe’s and 249 parking lot, but do not let that fool you! Quickly seated on the second floor. Service was amazing throughout the meal. There when we needed him, but. It overcrowding. The Sushi was amazing. Spicy tuna, firecracker roll and salads. These rolls are large people! 12 pieces or so each. And delicious. Frozen mugs for those who would like a draft beer. Highly recommended for family, dates with a partner, or catching up with friends. We hosted a business lunch for 8 people last week. The service was excellent and the food as good as always. I have eaten at Redfish several times and the food is always very good. One area that stands out is the sauces, any dish I have had at Redfish included a very tasty sauce.

We've been there 3 times in the past 4 weeks. Brought some friends this week. The food was wonderful each time and the service excellent. Rolita, the manager, is so gracious and remembers us each time. We will definitely continue going there till we try everything on the menu!

I went to the Red Fish the other evening, I'd been visiting from the UK and had a great time. The appetisers were the star of the meal, we ordered 3 to share and not only did they taste delicious but they made us smile with the way they were presented, in fact next time I visit we said we would eat our way through the appetisers to see what the others looked like!! That said the main courses were good, particularly the susi. I suppose my one quibble would be the puds which definitly did not seem to have been given the same care and attention as the rest of the food. We also had a very nice pouilly fuisse.

I really like their Redfish in Chipotle Sauce. It is served with steamed veggies and rice. The fish is fresh and the sauce recipe is a killer. The food is good here and prices are reasonable. The restaurant seems a little dirty to me. I'd like to see them do a deep cleaning, get out a paint brush, and lighten the place up a bit.

The 45 minute wait at Chuy's prompted us to double back to a cute restaurant we had just passed - Red Fish! And was that a blessing. It had great food and a quiet atmosphere where we could talk. We all ordered Shrimp and Grist from the Lunch Menu and were all amazed by it!! It is my favorite dish and this is the best I have ever had anywhere. Only wish Red Fish was closer - we home to Houston visiting family. Great food, great price, nice atmosphere.

The staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. The food was very average, the appetizers were small and not well presented. The entrees very average - only 1 of the 3 people in our group was happy. I'd keep looking

I had lunch here today and it was super .. I had a bowl of gumbo with a side of rice and it was rich and thick with plenty of shrimp and chunks of fish. I then ordered the Philadelphia Roll and it was 12 pieces of pure delight! We sat upstairs and the images of customers painted on the walls was very cool.

Saturday Night some friends of ours, John & Janice, invited us out to dinner at Redfish. They are two of the Most Loving People you would ever meet in your life. We are blessed to know them. My Wife and I have been going to Redfish for several years now and love it. We arrived a little early and were greeted by the Host. Stated to him that we were there to meet John and ... right then he stopped us and said; 'Follow me' ... (J&J have been going to Redfish every week for a long, long time ... they are known. We were shown upstairs and there they were ... John & Janice waiting for us. We took a seat and Ashley, our Server, took our drink orders. White Zinfandel for my Wife and me, J&J already have theirs. We chatted for awhile then looked over the Menu for an Appetizer. Decided on the 'Tempura Fried Shrimp' with Southwestern Salsa & Guacamole. This is my Wife's, and mine, favorite Appetizer. Big Ol' Shrimp lightly Breaded and prepared to Perfection ... and served very Fancy. Good Stuff. Our Wine arrived and we ordered the Appetizer for all of us to share, and looked over the Menu some more. Lots of Deliciousness to choose from and can't decide ... this is going to take awhile. We toasted and chatted again and then placed our orders when our Tempura Fried Shrimp arrived. My Wife is going with the '8oz Prime Rib' (med rare); Prime Rib with Caribbean Rub, Roasted. Served with Fresh Vegetables. I am having the 'Blackened Red Fish' with Chipotle Crabmeat Sauce. Served with Fresh Vegetables. I also ordered a Dinner Salad with Italian Dressing. John ordered a bowl of 'Seafood Gumbo' and Janice is getting the 'Grilled Salmon' with Sizzling Red Pepper Sauce. Served with Veggies. Now it's time for that Tempura Fried Shrimp. This Perfectly Breaded Shrimp with that Southwestern Salsa and Guacamole is Deliciousness at it's Finest, and fancied up with Carrot Curls. This went down fast. When we finished the Best Appetizer in the area, our Dinner Salads came out and they look Beautiful. The Salad has Shredded Cheese on top and it is Delicious. Shortly after we finished our Salads, our main courses came out and their Presentation of Food is Amazing. My Wife's Prime Rib is suppose to be 8oz, and she inquired about it because it looks like about 14oz at least. They do things right at Redfish. The Prime Rib was cooked Perfectly and my Wife said it was one of the Best Prime Ribs she has had. She only ate about half of it and I tried a couple of bites ... it's more than Deliciousness ... it's Perfection. The Au Jus is really good and that Horseradish really bites back ... like it should. She took the rest home with her for Lunch or Dinner sometime. My Blackened Redfish was really Tastylicious ... WOW is this seasoned Deliciously. Great Flavoring. My Veggies are really good with a Tasty Crunch to some of this. It's a good combination. John enjoyed his Seafood Gumbo as did Janice her Salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meal and most of us ate all of it. Now do I have room for Dessert? ... Yup ... I do because Ashley informed us as to what kind they have ... and when she said 'Butter Bread Pudding' ... that's all I needed to know. John said it is really good and John knows because he makes the Best Bread Pudding we have ever tasted ... he is known for his Bread Pudding and if he says it's good ... it really must be good. In just a couple of minutes Ashley brought out a bowl of the Butter Bread Pudding and it looks great. All of us dipped into this, but I was first. It's served Hot and it is really Tasty. I Love Really Good Bread Pudding and this is Above Really Good Bread Pudding. We were talking about Bread Pudding and how good my Wifes is and Johns is, so John and My Wife are going to have a contest sometime soon as to who makes the Best Bread Pudding, John or My Wife. Now, back to this Bread Pudding ... It's Gooooooooooooood ... and we shall see about Johns & my Wifes. Last night was a Very Good night of conversation, some Delicious food and Tastylicious Bread Pudding. Ashley did an outstanding job with us, as all the Servers do, and earned the Dollar-Bow-Tie Award. She loved it. Now to return home stuffed and thinking about that Bread Pudding. Check out Redfish on Facebook: Redfish Seafood Grill ... Note: The owners are really cool people and are opening up another Restaurant called 'Blue Onyx Bistro' in the Galleria area very soon. Check them out also ... Ya Gonna Luv It All ... Redfish Staff, Ashley and the Chefs for a very Enjoyable Delicious Evening.

This is the third time I have visited Redfish Seafood. Thomas served my husband and I, answered every question, was polite, helpful, and fun. The sushi is great/ but the oysters Rockefeller is the best I have eaten since commanders Palace in New Orleans. The manager stopped by too, I agree with another reviewer that this is the best, freshest sushi in this area. I really want to try some of the other entrees too!

The food and atmosphere were outstanding. I was in a party of 12 and wow! Great food, great service and at atmosphere. Stop in you will not be disappointed! I promise!

Our daughter and family live in Spring, Texas, and she and husband always treat us to a good meal when we visit. When asked my preference, 9 out of 10 times, the answer is Redfish Grill. Being a fan of Japanese cuisine, I really appreciate the large and varied menu. Whether your preference is sushi, sashimi, nigiri, sushi-maki, you'll find great selections. What really surprised me on my first visit was the very reasonable prices. Add to that, excellent, friendly service, fine presentation and top notch food quality. We've been there several times and have never been disappointed. If you enjoy seafood in general and Japanese in particular, I highly recommend the Redfish.

Sunday night dinner and the place was pretty empty. Sat upstairs, where it was freezing cold - bring a sweater with you in case. I eat raw vegan, so really only one item on the menu for me, but everyone else found something they loved. The staff was nice and checked on us frequently. Portions sides are decent, but not Texas sized like at other places. Don't expect to take home a doggie bag unless you are a really small eater. Price for dinner for 4 was not bad, compared to other places. Food seemed fresh and was tasty.

This was my 3rd visit to Redfish. It just gets better and better. Portions are generous and very well priced for fresh, unique fish entrees. Our party shared orders of edamame and tender fried calamari. Entrees were sushi, shrimp dinners, Chilean sea bass and my favorite, 'treasures of the sea' (Two Crabmeat Stuffed Sea Scallops, blackened, served with crabmeat stuffed Lobster Tail, served over Seafood Lobster Sauce). Save room for the white chocolate bread pudding.

Last night our 91 y.o. mom wanted seafood so we read reviews of Redfish Grill and came here. The atmosphere is casual downstairs and tablecloth upstairs. The menu is extensive with sushi, sashimi, and all kinds of traditional and "with a twist" fresh seafood dishes. When they say Gulf red fish and Gulf shrimp, they mean it. Mom had crabmeat stuffed flounder, her favorite. She was so pleased. The Asian inspired veggies with asparagus and other freshly cooked veggies was a large portion. It was all delicious. No "krab"meat served in the dished we had --- real, genuine crabmeat. The sauces shine as much as the seafood here. They portions are larger than most seafood places and the prices are $5 - $8+ less than many inferior seafood dishes on menus in Northwest Houston. My grouper topped with 3 large bacon-wrapped scallops was the best I've had in years. Beautifully finished with a very tasty sauce and a side of quality asparagus perfectly cooked. The steamed white rice is pleasantly served on a small side plate. Perfect idea. Unless you need another serving of veggies, no need to add a salad to your meal. The wine list is really nice with fair pricing by the glass or bottle. They also have a full bar and I noticed infused tequila on the bar so this could be a great happy hour location as well. There is a dedicated sushi bar and from what I saw being served to nearby tables, the sushi is a beautiful presentation and super fresh. The general manager is friendly and attentive to his dining rooms. The servers, Thomas for us, were all smartly attending to their tables. Thomas has worked here 3 yrs so that's a great sign of a good place to work and a successful restaurant. We will book mom's birthday party here and will be back. Families, girls & guys nights out and tables of date nights were around us. Comfotrable place to spend an evening. Excellent, 5-star dinner discovery.

Don't let the "oyster boat" look of Red Fish Seafood Grill fool you...run, don't walk in for the best sushi & seafood this side of the city. Voted one of the top 10 sushi eateries by the local daily newspaper and TV station alike, this place delivers. Promise you will be blown away by the amount, presentation and quality of the fresh seafood here at this Thai inspired, delicacy-of-the-sea eatery. Don't care for sushi ?- not to worry, for their most popular meal is fresh halibut in a cedar boat, adorned with fresh grilled shrimp! You get artful, upscale food in a friendly and casual atmosphere. Knowledgeable waitstaff seem to intuit your dining needs. Each entree comes with fresh seaweed salad and rice and whether you choose a flaming satay, "dragon" sushi dish, duck with port wine sauce, filet mignon and grilled shrimps with demi-glaze sauce or any of the many other generous offerings, you will be sure to pinch yourself when the inevitable check is presented. Value is king here with a capitol "fresh". What's not to love... well worth driving out of the way if you are in town because it will make your trip, guaranteed. Others may promise but Red Fish delivers.

Redfish Seafood grill is a great place for sushi. They have all the standards you would expect, and they also have a number of rolls with a unique Houston flair. Jalapenos and sour cream were a common theme for these unique creations. They even have a 911 roll that comes with warnings and disclaimers. Don't let the hot sauce scare you away. We liked the 911 roll so much we ordered a second one. The thing that really stood out for me was the size of the rolls, twice as long as the typical sushi roll. The price was also very reasonable. We had appetizers, wine and ate sashimi, rolls and sushi until we were stuffes, and it only came to $50 per person. We were six hungry guys, so beieve me when I tell you this was a great value.

We tried eating dinner here last night but unfortunately we won't be returning. After 10 minutes of being sat by the hostess at the sushi bar, we weren't even so much given a hello. We paid for a sitter so we could have a date night, were hungry and on a time crunch so we had to leave. The icing on the cake on this horrible experience was the same hostess that sat us yelled "Have a great evening!" as we walked out. Really? We were literally ignored and now you want to talk to us? I hope this restaurant gets it's priorities in order if they expect to have happy customers. Sadly, we were not.

We (my family & friends) LOVE Redfish Seafood Grill! We've been here on several occasions & the food is consistently wonderful. The servers are polite & fast. They do take reservations. But, get there early because parking is limited & is somewhat of a nightmare. That & the fact that they have no upstairs restrooms are pretty much the only problem I have when we dine here. But, the bottom line is that the food is amazing. Their Sushi is the freshest around. The "Seafood Mornay" & The "Shrimp & Jumbo Lump Crabmeat" are a couple of my favorites!

2nd time here and it was very good. Great menu choices make it very difficult, but fun. Friendly owner and staff mean we will definitely return next time we are in Houston.

Based on the outside of the restaurant, we had no idea this place even served sushi. The downstairs feels a little dingy, but after reading reviews here, I think I'll try the upstairs if we go back. The portions of sushi were large, about 12 pieces. The raw fish all tasted fresh, no 'fishy' smells here. The drinks were on the high side price wise. There were also two staff members talking about how much they could ice up the drinks to increase profits right behind us. This really put me off my meal. I don't mind paying for a nice meal but I don't like people talking about how much they are going to milk us while I'm doing it. They had a large menu and I even saw some chicken options for those who are fish-adverse. The parking lot really does need work and the entrance is not inviting. Other than the house salad, all the food we had was great, especially the crunchy roll and the tempura shrimp appetizer.
Nice spot near St Luke's - Vintage
After an afternoon visiting a family member at the hospital, looked for recommendations on Trip Advisor for dinner. This is a nice place. Wonderful martinis. Husband had halibut and shrimp in a cedar boat. Wonderful presentation. I asked for grilled shrimp instead of fried. Very good. Would eat here again. Food service a little slow, but the food was wonderful once it got here. Good service.
