Great Southside Spot

By Rahul S |

Reggie's is a great neighborhood bar with a great outdoor space and a live music venue. The daily specials are great, including the half off sandwiches with the purchase of a drink on Thursdays.

Good pub grub.

Quick cab ride from the McCormicks place. Nice rock vibe. Lovely portions and good prices. I ordered the hillbilly chili and Carlissimo burrito (see pictures). Would visit again.

Not Worth Going before going to Soldier Field

By Brenda Z |

We were told to try this place before attending a U2 Concert and take the bus to the concert. It took half hour just to get get our drinks which we were getting ready to leave and just go to McCormick to park. The food is ok and that was not even correct. They left ingredients off that my husband asked for on his sandwich. When we got there we asked were can we park. The guy told us where, guess what, we got a ticket even though we feed the meter, because you cannot park on the street for more than a hour during events at Soldier Field. There was not even a sign stating this as we looked. You are better paying for parking at McCormick and eating at the event. It will save you money, aggravation and you will have better food.

Lunch after the Auto Show

By Andrea B |

Truthfully I had my doubts about entering this establishment. I sent my BF in to check it out. If you enjoy heavy metal, punk musical venue with a good brew list you will be in your element. Granted we were in search of food. We were not disappointed with the Catfish sandwich or Reuben. The service was welcoming and attentive.

Busy friendly divey place, good food, great drinks, great live music, buses to local events

By Richie |

We visited here three times for three quite different occasions, and obviously love the place! It has a divey look, but it’s busy and friendly with good food, good drinks, and clean entirely-graffitied restrooms. First, my nephew and I had to kill some time while a school of other relatives went sightseeing. We took the elevator to the deck, and fell in at the bar. As an ex-Chicagoan, i started us out with a Chicago Handshake, a shot of Jeppson’s Malört with a can of Heileman’s Old Style! Malört is like a bitter angry absinthe. Old Style is a dry light flavorful lager. The well-chilled beer reminded me that the liquor hadnt actually killed me, and it randomly came to mind that the 1902 lager and the 1920’s wormwood could be a start to a great afternoon if only … Yes! They have quite a list of oldies! While my nephew had some microbrew that tasted astonishingly like cheesecake, the terrific bartender helped me run the gamut! 1850 Stroh’s! 1849 Schlitz! 1865 Hamm’s! The bartender had to dig in the back of the fridge, and he did us well. The only one that didnt quite measure up was the Stroh’s, which was like a weaker Miller Lite. Three days later, the family was staging another outing, and there was a blues jazz soul band on Reggie’s front patio. We scooped up a table by the gate and had a great view and a great listen as the band played their creative smooth interpretations and inspired solos, as the punk and metal tourists boarded Reggie’s buses to a music festival. They frequently run buses to local events! Very cool. The band even played a brief non-trite phrasing of a happy birthday melody for my nephew! A perfect day! While we enjoyed creative burgers, sandwiches, nuggets, and salads, I continued my tour with 1840 Pabst Blue Ribbon, 1884 Lone Star, and 1903 Miller High Life! Don’t frown at my PBR, they brew very close to their original recipe. I had a great time on my old-time beer tour! Two days later, we were out of relatives, but out of our hotel too early. And guess who opens at 11am on a Monday? So my wife and I pulled into a dimly lit table at the open garage-door front of the place. I finished my visit with a 1909 Shiner Bock, and then we caught a ride-share out front to Midway Airport. From now on, Reggie’s is my South Loop headquarters.

Reggies Rock Bus - BEST Wedding Guest Transportation!

By Shelby R |

We hired REGGIES rock bus for our wedding transportation and CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!! Our guests LOVED the spray painted busses, coolers of beer and music. The drivers were right on time & made it seem easy to move around 245 people during a busy Chicago Saturday. The team was communicative & made all the logistics simple - 11/10 recommend!

You have to trust the reviews

By Jason H |

I will say that I was immediately skeptical of this place because from the outside it looks iffy at best. Once inside it was awesome. It is a music venue, record store, bar, and restaurant all in one. I was in hipster paradise, and I loved it and I am not a hipster. Only drawback I had is getting fixed soon, and that is the lack of a close train stop. The beers were cheap and the bar staff was quick to get to you. We had drinks in the downstairs bar, the rooftop deck (awesome), and even down in the music venue before the concert started and we were told to clear the area. The rooftop was the coolest spot, but obviously with it being Chicago in early November the weather was a little chilly. I could see this place killing it in the spring and summer. Would definitely recommend to a friend or family member looking for a hole in the wall type place. The shuttle to and from Soldier Field was great too.

Riot Fest

By hurricaneLinds |

What a great bar! Staff were amazing, fair prices drinks and great booze features. Their wings are awesome and enormous. Reggies Rock Bus is off the hook. Awesome free entertainment with refreshments to and from events. I would come back to Chicago just to see any number of the great names they have come through. Thanks! Jackie rocks.

Shady looking establishment with some of the best food in town!

By JazzFan23 |

If you want very good food at a reasonable price, this is the place! My wife and I have visited this place twice before theater engagements. We were able to visit on a Tuesday, which is $.25 wing night. I purchased 16 JUMBO wings for $4.50. They were perfectly seasoned, fried and glazed with a sweet and tangy sauce. I could not finish half of them. My wife and I are hooked on this place and plan to make it a regular spot. It would be nice if they update the place - it's a dark rock type place - but if it affects the quality of food, leave it be! LOL

Horrible experience

By Diego Borges |

Came down for a gig from Puerto Rico. Always heard good things about the place and was exited to get there went to the bar to get something to eat and one of the waiters shoved me to the side and told me to - Get out of the way!- when I asked what I did she just told me all rudely that I was in her way. Then she went on her way looking at me as if I was some thing bellow her. I have worked in the restaurant/bar business for years and never have I ever seen or heard of this kind of customer service in my life. Don’t go! It’s not worth the horrible expirience. A thousand thoughs ran through my mind. A big mistake to waste my night here.

I came here after meeting a couple while in Savannah.....

By Red804 |

While on a road trip this past summer, I stopped at a bar in Savannah, GA. I met a cool couple who told me they worked/owned this place. Since I was planning on coming in town to see a show at The House of Blues, I decided to look it up and see if I could stop by while I was in town. Turns out it is also a concert venue, that a different band my BF and I love was playing the night we flew in! We did not have time to eat there, but the venue was cool. Prices of beer and booze was reasonable, I am so glad we got to go!!!!

Fun in the Sun!

By mizlgw |

Loved hanging out on the sunny roof deck bar and watching the "L" trains go by. The Fat Tire and char-dog were just what I needed! Oh and the chuckle from when a kid threw the basketball and it went up and over the netting and a staff member had to scurry down to retrieve the ball from another rooftop.

Great place to hang out

By Lettie |

This bar is a great place to be if your in to rock or heavy metal. The decorations are kool and the atmosphere is one big party. Prices and food are reasonable. We usually have our end of the year party outside on the roof top and we always have a great time. The owner Robbie is a great guy that does alot for school and organizations. He rocks!

Best place in town!

By fmthomas099 |

Reggie's Playland. Great music! Great wings! Great rooftop bar! Great people watching! Perfect combo of music and sports and busses will take you to all local events. Owner, Rob, ROCKS!

Great specials

By Kayla S |

Checked this place out from reviews on Tripadvisor and took advice not to be scared away at first glance haha. It is a little rough looking but in a cool, unique way. They have great specials -Tuesday's were .40 jumbo wings, Wednesday was half priced apps and Thursday are half priced burgers and sandwiches. We got the hummus appetizer to share which was very good with a bunch of veggies and pita bread - it was excellent! Our waitress had an attitude and I asked for my beer to be on a separate check because I was in town on business and this was apparently a huge Inconvenience to her. We tried to not let her ruin the trip and killed her with kindness :)

Interesting

By ANDY K |

Was directed here as w3 were early for event round the corner. As two sixty somethings from U.K. we felt a bit out of place amongst the tattooed and t shirted heavy metal types, but a great place to people watch. Good selection of nice beers in dark clubby atmosphere, reasonably priced. Nice experience.

BARTENDER AND MANAGER ARE RUDE!!!

By Frefo |

The worst customer service we have ever experienced RACIST BARTENDERS AND MANAGERS! If I could of given you a -5 I would !! We (wife as I ) for asking the bartender for a little more vodka since he made our drinks weak as all heck! Manager was no help either !! Both of them were RUDE AND RACIST telling us “F#@$ YOU!” And we were refused a refund on our NEW drinks that we had just purchased. WHAT A RUDE CREW THEY HAVE WORKING FOR THEM!!!

Excellent food, great service and staff friendly. Outdoor terrace is beautiful. We split the group and we were pleased with everything

Cool place

By Stefan Ch |

First bar I ever went to in an America. Luckily enough it was open mic night and some comediants were invited on stage. Had some good laughs and a nice beer.

Check out the rooftop deck

By Coast2coastMD |

Good bar good, good drinks. Had wings, special price on Tuesdays, recommended mixed sauce (BBQ and Buffalo). Good beer selection, and for non beer drinkers, had a few bottles. Rooftop has large projection TV for sox games, pool table, and basketball hoop! Service not fast, but friendly and tasty experience.

Good Music and Bar Food

By Michele C |

Jazz music on the main floor and DJ on the second floor. Reggie's was on the Jazz Tour so it was very crowded. The wait staff were very nice. The crowd was mature and appreciating the music. Good location for Jazz and bar Food.

Our kind of place!

By Wanderer46466119091 |

We came to Reggies on our trip to Chicago to hear our favorite jam band Mr. Blotto. The folks at the door were great and the ambiance was perfect for this band. We loved the artwork on the walls heading upstairs and the stage was decorated just as it should be. Our server was wonderful and the clientele was groovy and just what we expected. Keep up the good work Reggies, and we'll be back when we're back in town!

A rockin' place with excellent food

By Laura G |

Where can you see a variety of live music in a slightly rough-around-the-edges rock atmosphere and get delicious food? Reggies! We love this place - you never know who you'll find playing there (well, unless you read the website) but you know you'll always get a great burger or sandwich. It's a definite gem in the South Loop, and I recommend a visit if you're looking for an interesting night of music. Oh - and they have "real" shows in the Rock Club next door: a small, intimate venue for concerts. Their roof deck is pretty cool too!

Ogre at the bar

By wearytraveler60616 |

We went to Reggie's for a music event. The bartender was a Shrek ogre, truly. If you didn't tip him with each drink, he literally ignored you, and then tried to school us by flipping around the $1 bills from the tip jar, stating, "See, this is how it works. You want service, you tip." I was appalled. Apparently, he grew up in the woods and doesn't realize that folks get tipped for good service AFTER they provide service. The music was great, the venue is awesome, but the bartender is an ogre. So, be sure to tip him with every drink, whether you think he's worth it or not, or you won't get another drink.

Lots of Character

By dmarkiowa |

Old wood beams and brick walls, with lots of interesting concert posters. Smaller club, good site lines to stage, acoustics were good enough, wait staff had a lot of personality ("if you expect sangria, then you won't like ours") in a good way. Seems they had a good beer and drink list.

Great appetizers. Would be great after dark for music.

By Barbara Mason |

Was here for lunch with a bunch of kids. Not really a kids place, but appetizers were great, burgers not so much. Great selection of beers. Went here mainly because of Restaurant.com certificate, flood value for the money with the cert. I bet it's a great fun place after dark!

Love the Live Music!

By Traci P |

We visit Reggies yearly from Indiana for the Live Music. They always host my favorite Midwest band, Wookiefoot, and it's always a great time for a great price.

Get your funk on

By JKTraveler11 |

The roof top bar is one hell of a hang out. Great, relaxed bar scene with fire pit, pool tables, and mere feet from the "L". We ventured down stairs to hang out with 40-something year-old metal heads who were just out to have a good time. Definitely will be back...

Great place, great staff, questionable location

By Jill W |

We went here to see a concert. There's a bar/restaurant with a record store upstairs, then the concert venue is right next door. The food was really good and reasonably priced and the wait staff was excellent. The booths are ragged looking and the bathrooms are only lit by black light, which is...odd. A local band was playing in the restaurant and they were really good too. The concert venue next door is a decent size. It has great sound, and a cool upstairs with limited seating if you want to get off your feet. We had to park down the street a bit at a meter and the area seemed a little rough. The band we went to see didn't come on til midnight so when we left around 1:30 am, we didn't feel too safe.

Great staff - free transport to baseball too!

By Shane B |

Came along early to get a ticket to the baseball game with the transport in the bus. Had a great time chatting with the staff. Very cool place with a real vibe. It gets louder as the day goes on too!

Great venue for live music

By bikingmom |

We came here on Tipsy Tuesday to hear Mr. Blotto. Great place to hear live music and there is even a small dance floor. $ 10 cover, but well worth it. Large beer selection ( draft, bottle and can) There is food, we did not eat so cannot comment on the food. Our waitress that night was amazing. If you are in town and want to hear a fun band, this place is not to be missed

Fun, Preconcert Spot

By linnycas |

I was in town for a Dave Matthews concert and we decided to try this place out! I had their mushroom swiss burger it was to die for! We sat on the rooftop which had a fun atmosphere. They offered a free shuttle over to the venue. We loaded up on the bus which was full, but before we made it too far the bus over heated. Overall it was a great experience despite the bus issue!

Decent Bar Food

By parr0t6 |

Reggies is better than average bar food. When they get busy the kitchen slows down but if your in no hurry, the burgers are good and so is their pulled pork sandwich. Look for daily specials on-line.

Great bbq burger

By Blanca Bastida |

Ask for the bbq burger. Great ambiance, very good food and not expensive. Nice live music. Great experience.

Bears pregame

By traveler35691 |

Went to Reggies before a Bears game. Very little parking but a fun place . A $12 fee for a buffet before the game and after was fantastic. Plenty of food and a good variety. Bands playing on different levels all day. Good drink prices and a shuttle to take you to events and back.

Good Bar with live rock

By Ron S |

Good Bar food Great prices. Close to the convention center. Bartender informative. Many Many different types of liquor and beers. Cold beers as well.

Class amongst fun chaos!

By davekozy |

Fun, entertaining and great food place. All were very nice but Calling out server Trevor for excellent service! Not typical millennial that gets a bit slow - always checking in, going above normal care. Made our first visit not our last. Excellent pre-game buffet. I did wonder tho about the guy charging for the buffet on first floor. Random amounts and not to everyone. May want to tighten that up. Great place tho!

Just okay......

By lauris87 |

Came here with friends on a Saturday night after the Pearl Jam concert. Sat on the roof top. Atmosphere is nice for sitting/drinking with friends. Roof top bartenders were not the friendliest, though, so that was kind of a buzz kill. Also, there is a bar upstairs and downstairs....but, apparantly you can't walk downstairs while holding your beer? Not sure if that's a Chicago thing, but kind of annoying when you have to slam your beer before going downstairs.

... And we returned with a larger group 3 days later!

By Misconnected |

I was staying at the Marquis for 10 days for a conference at McCormick and walked to Reggies. Reggies is an original. We ate in their streetiside seating on our first visit because the rooftop was crowded and the main restaurant was setting up for a band performance. Excellent comfort food and pasta. I had the chicken-fried chicken TV dinner. I highly recommend it. Three days later we returned with a large group and found plenty of seating on the rooftop. Great service and more excellent food. Everyone in our group of 10 was satisfied.

Great Small Live Music Venue

By Joseph C |

Went for the first time to watch a friend's band opening for the evening's main act. There was a cover charge but once inside there was no pressure to order anything and the drinks we ordered were very reasonably priced. There were plenty of servers and relaxed service. The venue includes large TV screens for sports when there isn''t a performance. Don't think there is a bad seat from which to watch performances and the acoustics were very good. Almost all the patrons were adults and at least on the night we were in attendance the acts were classic rock and roll. In all, a funky fun place to enjoy rock and roll and a few drinks.

Fantastic music

By CelticCurl Y |

Two alternating acts in two different rooms. So if you want to chat, you can do so in the room where there isn't music at the time. We saw the Carl Weathersby Blues Band -- totally amazing! Outstanding music! The food was just so-so, and the ladies running the kitchen were a bit surly. But it didn't matter, we were there for the music and that overcame the "meh" value of the food. Nice selection of beers also.

Fantastic

By Kieren W |

I loved my visit here, the atmosphere was great and I thoroughly enjoyed my food. Highly recommended .

Cool place

By Stefano |

Be sure to go there when it's sunny and the rooftop is open. I went there on a Sunday afternoon and watched the match on the roof on a relaxed atmosphere. Beer is great :-) There is also a record shop between the ground floor and the rooftop.

Cool old vib tavern

By Sluzecrew |

Real good food - 2 bars 1st and 3rd floor - you have to visit the old record store on the second floor. You will find something you cant live without!

Great music and food

By Jon B |

Food is nothing special but good. The music is fantastic, local bands, old bands, heck ratt played there last weekend. The management is great. Looks rough but i felt very safe and is kind of a throw back to the days when bands had to do the clubs to make it. Its split into 2 rooms, a smaller one mostly for locals and smaller bands and the bigger room for those bigger bands. Its a great time with alot of good looking women and men. Bartenders very good. No pressure to buy anything, good service. Parki g is a little tough to find but not to bad.

We Are Not Happy Til You Are Not Happy

By SouthsideEddie |

Visited this Bar last night for Pre Chicago Blues Festival Party. This is an excellent music venue and has great atmosphere. All the performers were great but for me the standout on the night was Oscar Wilson. Another notable was Milwaukee Slim, My only quibble is the quality of the Guinness on tap. It takes time to pull a good pint of Guinness and as a bar staff member said to me the bar dont have the time. This is not a "Fancy Dan" bar. My advice to anyone visiting the bar is dont drink the Guinness.

Awesome music venue and service!!!

By Foodaholic Jackson |

We were here to see a couple of tribute bands on a Thursday night, and we were sitting at one of the tables. The server(s) were ON their game, not once did we sit there and have to wait around for our drinks (where it seems that most music venues are understaffed and you always have to wait for drinks or always have to flag someone down). I don't know what the food is like, but they have a very LARGE beer list, and prices aren't really terrible for a Chicago bar/music venue. A very fun place!!!
