Fun lunch outdoors

By Hammbrook |

Excellent location to the Art Institute and Millennium Park and central Chicago. We sat outdoors for lunch on a unusually warm fall date. Efficiently handled our group of eight. Salads, sandwiches and drinks were all enjoyed. The only real negative were the bees that seemed to enjoy the location as much as we did.

Very Good Dining Experience

By Nez D |

The food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere and the service was very good. They made a very good Old Fashion so overall it was a wonderful experience.

Delicious!

By DJL8851 |

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Remington’s! We had the crab cakes and kale salad, and they were both SO delicious! The crab cakes had large chunks of tender crab and the crumb coating was crispy to the very end. The kale salad was a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. Food was delicious, and service was great. Highly recommend!

Great food and drink menu!!

By Maureen G |

Remington's serves up great food and signature cocktails! Added bonus - Millennium Park is across the street and a beautiful landscape while enjoying your meal or walk around afterwards.

Great meal, great service

By amosesq |

Eight friends ate a long convivial dinner, facilitated by the high quality (and generous portions) of our dishes and our friendly (and patient) server.

Terrific brunch/ vino

By Piazza777 |

Had the Remington omelet with asparagus added. Hollandaise light and tasteful. Waiter recommended Hitching Post Pinot Noir. Perfect pair. Great staff and vibe. I will be back.

Very nice bar

By Mary T |

We stopped in to Remington's our last night in Chicago and were sad we hadn't discovered it earlier. The bar was cozy, plenty of seating, and the apps were good. I had not had a good glass of wine either until that night.

Nice spot for a relaxed meal

By OkayTC |

We wanted a restaurant close to our hotel on the first night of arriving in Chicago and after going round in a complete circle (our fault though is Google maps any good?) we arrived at Remingtons. Best described by us as a popular restaurant bar with sports screens for people sitting around the bar our table overlooked the main drive. Service and food very good. We started with cocktails and settled on sharing 2 mains - the crab cakes and a tuna steak - both were enjoyable though my favourite was the tuna. We had a couple of glasses of California Pinot noir which was excellent. The bill can mount - the damage €160 for 2 - we left cash for the tip. We enjoyed Remingtons.

Delicious

By wckdtrix |

I went here for dinner while on business in Chicago. We were seated quickly, and our server quickly took our drink order while we looked at menus. I ordered the prime rib, and it came with a loaded baked potato. My meal was excellent. The prime rib was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was very tender and juicy. The potato was really good too. I would go here again for sure.

Excellent dinner

By Katharine C |

Food was incredible, steak was delicious and perfect. Lobster deviled eggs were beautiful. A bit expensive but worth it for a bit of a spoil yourself night.

I would avoid this place at all costs!!

By Ty A |

First of all, my waiter (Anna) was GOD AWFULLY RUDE to me because she felt I didn't tip her enough (Even though I did tip her very graciously). I brought this to the manager's attention the following week because it bothered me. Her name was Demi. She gave me her card and told me to let her know when I was coming back and that she would "take care of me." I thought that was very nice of her so my girlfriend and I decided to give the place another try. Only to find out that she completely charged me full price for the next visit. When I brought this to the attention of my server apparently she had hid in the kitchen and made her server come back and said she was busy and to pay for the food. How exactly is that taking care of me? Even if they would've offered to cover half that would've worked for me. It's one thing to have rude staff but I cannot stand people who lie like Demi did. Don't waste your money, folks. And it's too bad. Perhaps the owner has to tighten up his staff's and manager's professionalism and accountability.

Fantastic!

By Jean N |

On our last night in Chicago, we popped into Remington’s by chance & lucky for us…we had a fabulous time!! Janae was our server & she was the best! She was so funny & entertaining & took excellent care of us. The food was great….especially the huge piece of warm carrot cake for dessert! We all agreed it was the best carrot cake we’ve ever had! If you are looking for dinner & a show….(Janae is the headliner) stop by Remington’s and ask for Janae…..you won’t be disappointed!

Nice place

By Potomac_11 |

We stopped in for fries and a beer. Very attractive place with friendly and efficient service, a good selection of beers on tap, and excellent fries.

Better Options Nearby - Pretty Average Experience

By Doug_K_0216 |

Came here with some people from work for lunch. Nothing in particular really stood out for any of us. The soups were kind of bland, the meat in the French dip sandwiches were over-cooked (but at least the dipping juice wasn't overly salty). A couple of us chose one of the entree salads but those, too, were just sort of ok. The service was good, though. There are better options in the area.

Great food and service

By Rudy C |

We had the fish special (salmon), rotisserie chicken, guacamole and Brussel sprouts. Also tried their drink specials. Nothing to complain about here. Quality meals and large portions with everything. The drinks were very good as well.

Something for everyone

By TravelQueen1107 |

A more unique approach to the typical Chicago steakhouse. Excellent fish selections in addition to traditional steakhouse fare. Lobster deviled eggs were excellent starters. Four huge scallops made more than an ample entree. A tasty full slab of ribs for $26 is a good buy. And the home made key lime pie was a tasty treat. Seating in comfortable booths made for easy conversation in personal space. An enjoyable evening from start to finish.

great for salads and lunch

By Pieter D |

We had lunch (and returned the following day !) with fresh salad, quite inventive (with shredded Brussels sprouts and nuts), well prssnted, accompanied by a nice bottle of white wine. Just did the job as it should.

Great Steak and Great Location

By Grover R |

We stayed at the Palmer House and we choose this restaurant for its ranking within walking distance of our hotel. The location is amazing on Michigan right across from the Bean and Millennium Park. As for the food, we both enjoyed greatly. I had the steak and my wife the chicken after we started with drinks and guacamole. Everything was great and our waiter was very good, even got a picture for us. I can't recommend this place more if you are in Chicago. It is a great steak at a location that is very easy to find.

Amazing

By Jani |

Stoped by this place for lunch. Everything was awesome, from ambience and decor to service and food. The burger was one of the best i had in a long time. Definitely recommending it and ill be back.

Great, old fashioned bar.

By kathleenlh65 |

Food is excellent! The atmosphere is fun and the service is nice. It seems the staff remembers individuals too.

dinner

The space was very clean and well put together, very sharp. The Remington has a great big bar to enjoy a drink with a nice selection. The salmon was well done and very tasty. I will be back!

Huge disappointment

By Excursion02165418516 |

Wow …. Chicago… you should be likely to stumble on a truly great steak in any decent restaurant! Beef is hubby’s favorite.. he’s a major carnivore… so we were willing to anti up this place’s prices because it has a reputation . BIG mistake. The Prime Rib was not only so NOT med rare, I honestly don’t think it even was prime rib. And his substitute Ribeye was charged black on its surface & cold most of the interior.. ordered med rare. Even the waiter was discussed & apologized. Definition of OVER Rated!

Great food and atmosphere, with room to refine the service

By Witch-king of Angmar |

Remington’s delivers where it matters most: the food is excellent, the atmosphere is vibrant yet comfortable, and the wine list is thoughtfully curated. It strikes a solid balance between quality and price, making it one of the better options in Chicago for a satisfying meal that doesn’t break the bank. That said, the service leans a bit too theatrical at times and doesn’t always keep pace with the flow of the meal. A touch more polish and efficiency from the staff would elevate the experience to match the kitchen’s standards. Still, for a well-executed meal in a stylish setting, Remington’s is a strong contender—ideal for both casual dinners and more dressed-up occasions.

Great Prime Rib

By Thomas K |

Attended a large planned business dinner with about 30 people. We were seated in a large private room. Service was excellent and extremely friendly. We were selecting from a limited menu, but good options. I had the Prime Rib Au Jus. It was outstanding. The appetizers we shared of Stuffed Mushrooms and Chicken Satay were also tremendous as well. Can't speak to the cost as it was a corporate event.

Great evening

By Gregory888 |

We arrived at Remingtons entirely by accident without a reservation and were greeted warmly and taken to a couple of seats at the bar. That was a bonus, sitting at the bar, as the ladies working the bar were awesome. The food outstanding. Crab avocado toast was on point. All of our food was cooked to perfection. The room has a good vibe and we completely enjoyed our evening. Thanks to Alexa and the other bartenders.

A little pricey

By SarahLee9916 |

The food was good but a bit pricey for me. The service was prompt and friendly and the drinks were good. I wasn't quite anticipating the cost we were just hungry and needed a place close to the hotel we were at. I'm glad we came here, next time I'll just plan on the price.

Good bar food

By Elizabeth |

Went for apps earlier this week. Service was very kind but disorganized. Food and drinks arrived seemingly at random. Food was pretty good— guacamole was super fresh, sliders were tasty. It was all pretty heavy and I felt very dense leaving but could be in what we ordered.

Excellent dinner

By NormLWat |

A nice spot for dinner. Located across from Millennial Park it is a great spot to dine prior to an evening concert. Food is great, service is good.

Excellent upscale restaurant

By Rockon1954 |

Dropped in this past Sunday for brunch with a group of 7. We were seated in a glass enclosed wine display area which was very nice and private from the rest of the bar/dining area. Service was excellent, drinks were great. Food was outstanding. Will definitely go back!

Nice view!

By Stephanie C |

After our visit to Museum of Illusions we lucky to find Remington’s just walk towards Michigan Ave and turn right. We had the perfect server Janee B. She was awesome with my nephew. She made us feel like we were the only customer. The views of Michigan Ave. were great and the food was good too! The menu has something for everyone. Janee recommended the crab cakes and they were delicious.

Awesome

By RocknRobyn10 |

This place is good. We didn’t plan on coming here but we are happy we did. We stopped in for lunch. I got the beef dip and it was delicious. My friend got the brussel sprouts salad and he said it was one of the best salads he ever had. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It was one of our better lunches in Chicago.

Lovely evening

By MistyRoe |

Great location on Michigan Avenue across from Millennium Park. We were seated quickly with very prompt service from the friendly wait staff. We orders drinks which were small and expensive but it’s the city, so to be expected. We shared the spaetzle which was amazing! We also had the rotisserie chicken, short ribs with risotto and wrightwood salad. Very enjoyable experience and we would love to visit again.

Great Lunch; Great Service.

By JJH3d |

Sunday lunch with my son, we weren't in the mood for brunch so we had the french dip and fish sandwich. Nice place. You won't be disappointed.

Quality perfect, service mediocre

By Ariadna F |

We wanted to do really well after the Chicago Marathon and so we decided to go for Remington’s. The location is very chic and has an extensive map. The food was delicious. There are only 3 out of 5 points because the waiter who was in charge of us probably had a bad day and was not necessarily customer friendly. As a vegan / vegetarian I didn't have much choice (which I was aware of before) and was looked at lopsidedly by him because I didn't order the oh so great meat.

Wow what a great Ribs

By Alejandro V |

Congratulations very good quality and delicious food even for the services , salads , plates and food wonderful, Dirty Martini good balance with gin , the price are good , the facilities restaurant very good condition, the lights confortable to have a chat with friends or couple , we spend a really good moment in this restaurant!!!

Great place for a special dinner

By Angela V |

We celebrated my 70th birthday at Remington’s on Michigan Avenue, across from “The Bean.” Rather pricey and not a huge selection on menu but everything we had was top notch, especially the oysters and shrimp appetizers.

Remingtons for dinner

By lynnea306 |

Nice place for a great meal, very good service, we found this restaurant on open table and decided to dine before our show at navy pier. Good selection of dinner items, all of us enjoyed ourselves .

Lovely bar/restaurant

By Brian E |

This was an ideal spot as I was staying centrally while in Chicago and must say the food, drink and atmosphere were all lovely. Very bright interior with a nice view. Staff very friendly and obliging. Very good value too considering it’s food quality and location.

Happy Hour

By Kelly R |

Stopped by for happy hour. Located right across the street from Millennium Park. The hamburger sliders and avacado crab toast were excellent. Friendly staff.

Second visit, just not worth it

By Reyna Y |

Husband and I had visited Remington’s some time ago and it there were some mistakes in service so the manager was kind enough to offer us a gift card to try this place again. Again we were disappointed. Our waiter was condescending, the scallops were over cooked and burnt on one side, we ordered asparagus but I believe it was forgotten and came after only because my husband asked. My meal was not hot, just lukewarm. We ordered a ribeye and loaded baked potato. I think it must have been sitting because both items were not hot. We ordered the strawberry rhubarb crisp with ice cream but it was not heated and loaded with crisp but not enough fruit. The manager (female) did come by and and apologized for the scallops, offering us a free dessert but we did not accept because we had a gift card from the manager (it felt wrong). The waiter did make an excellent recommendation for the wine. This place is pricey and there are so many restaurants in Chicago. I’d recommend trying something else where your money is better spent.

Vacation dinner

By Franklin B |

We had Tuna #8, Cajun Shrimp Fettuccine and the Fish of the day. Everything was delicious. Our server, Maria, was helpful and described the dishes perfectly. The entrees were a delicious twist on standard items. Definitely recommend stopping in for a great meal.

Great Location, Nice Food

By BethRose640 |

Dined twice when family members came into town. It is convenient to Milennium Park and the parking garage. The atmosphere is casual but sophisticated. The menu features seafood which we truly enjoyed. The octopus salad is great! Enjoyed their summer cocktails as well. Service is attentive and reliable. So glad to have found it and will happily go back.

superb service and food

By Rolf A |

The service staff was always there just when you needed them. They never hoovered nor asked to take away plates when you are still obviously eating. The mushroom soup, a Tuesday selection, was nicely-flavored, as was the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. The casualness of the food and the quiet attentiveness of the staff made for an effective lunch meeting.

In front of the Cloud Gate

By Julia Plieva |

This trendy restaurant is located almost directly in front of the Cloud Gate - the Bean so it is very nice place to get a stop there if you are or tourist or have another purpose of bei with thisng in that city area. City tour bus stops almost next to this restaurant so it is cool to get out of the bus, walk around at the Millennium Park, see that amazing piece of art - The Cloud Gate and then - to have a delicious lunch in this restaurant. Espresso is good there (for me this is one of the indicators of good places), the meals are also stylish and delicious. If you need to charge your phone the friendly personnel will also help you with this. After you can again take the city tour bus and continue opening this great city Chicago for yourself.

An overall Great Dining experience

By Michael K |

We had dinner at Remington’s after a long day at Wrigley Field. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the manager and promptly seated, where our waitress was at our table in minutes introducing herself and offering to get us something to drink. The food was prepared well, full of flavors, I had the chicken and added a side of creamed spinach, we also had the burger and salads. If you are by millennium park, don’t miss Remingtons

Good place for business dinner

By Chompash |

This is a quiet venue, wait staff very pleasant. The shrimp risotto special was excellent. No extras with the entrees (e.g., bread, salad). The spinach/artichoke dip was good, tasting of parmesan and spinach, but no artichoke detected. Served with tortilla chips.

the French Fries!

By Mary H |

Immediately relaxed after entering this restaurant. We really wanted to be in a place that made us feel comfortable. Our waiter was great. Very pleased with the sandwiches we were served. Haven't had French Fries this good in a long time. Dessert brownie with ice cream was big enough for two to share.

Great ambient

By Martha Leite |

The food is fresh and delicious. The ambient is classy and comfortable. I had a sandwich with fries and there was so much food that two could eat.

Lovely restaurant near Millennium Park

By Despina D |

Great atmosphere and excellent food. The pork chops are delicious! The restaurant is conveniently located opposite Millennium Park. We didn't have a reservation but managed to get a table. I would definitely go back.

Good dinner

By rudy t |

The crab cake was excellent. The short rib had a perfect sauce and was so yummy. We had a lovely dinner here. Glad we were able to go here

Beautiful Dining Experience

By Opinion011 |

Remington (on south Michigan Avenue) has a great menu featuring steaks, prime ribs, unique starters, wines and cocktails. Our server, Linius, was super efficient and pleasant. Since we are not huge meat eaters but really wanted prime rib, they accommodated us by splitting the entree and the portions were still big. The atmosphere was beautiful being December with all the white lights on Christmas trees wrapped with bright red ribbons. The bar is huge and has a relaxing feeling. We went to the Harris Theater after dinner so dress up and treat yourself to a lovely dinner.

AMAZING SERVICE

By Garcia Fam |

My friends and I sat in the lounge area for dinner since we didn’t have a reservation, but the service was still great. Our servers name was Pam and she did a great job of taking care of us. She was super chill and wasn’t too “waitressy” if that makes sense, she was genuinely taking care of us. Food was fantastic. Ordered the filet mignon- medium well, a little bit of it was practically rare but other than that, we all enjoyed our food to the max. Even the host staff was lovely at greeting everyone.

Excellent Business Dinner

By The_Loup_Garou |

I had only done a wine tasting at Remington’s, but vowed to take my wife back there, on a return visit. Before I could exercise that plan, fate intervened, and we had a business dinner at Remington’s, during our October trip. I got to see a bit more of the restaurant, as we were in a private dining room in the rear, and just the walk back was interesting, with the wine “cellar,” and such. The group, that walked from the LondonHouse arrived first, and we were seated, with a few others having arrived via shuttle, or taxi/ride-share. The room was lovely, though we did fill it up to about its maximum. Service was excellent, and especially so, considering the quarters. The group wanted for nothing, that I could detect. The menu for the group was a prix fixe, but I will go into details on it, as some of the dishes likely appear on Remington’s Full Menu: Starters for the table: Crab Toast – excellent, with fresh, sweet crab meat Caprese Bruschetta – very good, but maybe the toast was just a bit overdone? The basil notes were perfect though Prosciutto-wrapped Asparagus – OK, I am not usually an asparagus fan, but this dish was great, and a lovely presentation, as well Soup, or Salad: Chicken Tortilla – very well-done and tasty Caesar Salad w/ Parmesan & garlic croutons – wife complimented this salad very highly Main Courses – Choice of Pork Chop, Filet Mignon, No 8 Tuna or Ribeye. We chose: No 8 Tuna, with nori crust, kimchee rice and sesame-soy teriyaki – wonder Tuna, and the prep was both attractive, and delicious – a winner! 8 oz Filet Mignon with truffle béarnaise sauce (on the side) – very good, and perfectly cooked to medium-rare. The beef was moist and flavorful, with just the right amount of char. It was not quite up to the Tuna, which probably overshadowed the filet just a bit. Still, very good, though not in my all-time Top 20. Sides for the table: Mashed Potatoes – well-done, with great consistency Roasted Brussels Sprouts – good, but slightly underdone, though there were some nice crispy leaves Späetzle Mac & Cheese – my favorite of the side dishes, with great flavors and good texture Sweets: Flourless Chocolate Cake w/ whipped cream and a caramel sauce – now, I am not much of a dessert person, but my wife gave this one two-thumbs up, so a good sign. Though Remington’s has a great wine list, the wines were chosen for the group, and consisted of the Gabbiano Dark Knight, a Super-Tuscan blend for our red, and an Emiliana Natura “Un-oaked” Chilean Chardonnay ‘18, and then the Capasaldo Prosecco NV. All were nice wines, and handled the menu well. While I know Gabbiano for their Chianti wines, this Super-Tuscan was new to me. I am also usually not a fan of most wines from Chile, with but only a few dozen, that I would buy, but this Emiliana was quite good, and a surprise to me. Usually, I like tempered use of oak, over pure stainless steel fermentation, but this was an interesting wine, none the less. All of the stemware, and the place settings were very nice, and attractive. Even with the full “private dining room,” service was excellent. Now, I still have to make good on my promise to take just my wife to Remington’s, and explore the full menu, as well as the full wine list!

Nice place to have some food and drink after visiting the millennium park

By Food Couple MX |

I went there to have dinner after walking around Chicago. The place is next to the Millenium park. The food was very decent

It is fine but pricey

By travelislifeMiami |

We sat outside since the weather was nice. The Baby Back Ribs were unimpressive, excessive amount of sauce on the obviously oven baked ribs. The Pork Chop was better but a little too pink inside for my wife. The Key Lime Pie was delicious. The server was very gracious. I found the food prices high.

Amazing staff and food

By ChicagoFemale |

We had not been here since before the whole pandemic situation and they did not miss a beat. John and Alexa were manning the bar and were absoltely amazing. We also forgot how excellent the food is here. Now that is is back in our neighborhood we plan to be there on a regular basis.

Good Upscale Breakfast

By Jeff P |

Remington’s offers a nice upscale brunch/breakfast in the central Chicago area. The service is quite good and relaxed and they offer a full bar service for your meal. My wife and I each had the same omelette and found it was good but needed a fair amount of salt and pepper to bring the flavors out. However, the home fries served with the omelette were delicious. I am not sure what they put in them but they were creamy and perfectly seasoned.

Great find on a chilly Chicago night

By RusPat_704 |

This restaurant is close to our home in the New Eastside. it was cold and windy and we did not want to walk far. What a pleasant surprise. We had reservations and they seate us right away. The server was right there to take our drink order. The Brussel sprout salad was to die for. The halibut special on a bed of greens was coooked just right and the Nutella brownie had plenty of ice cream. Wonderful meal and service. Will be back!

Beyond expectations

By Top Chef#1 |

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Party of 10 in the wine room, which is superb. Atmosphere was great. Food was outstanding. Kelly and our highly attentive server Miranda were phenomenal. Friendly and attentive. Everything a great restaurant should have... They have!! We all loved it. We will be back. Thank you so much guys!!!

Exceptionally Average

By Thomas P |

Ordered the 8oz Filet ($51), done medium. Not only was it considerably under cooked, it was absolutely plain. No S&P, nothing. The loaded potato was good. My daughter's cheese burger was ok. The Mac and cheese was...unusual. Had a sour flavor to it and the "noodles" were small strips of over cooked, mushy pasta. 5:30pm reservation. Were seated right away and got prompt attention from our waiter. But our food took a long time to arrive. The people behind us were seated 20 minutes after us and got their food before ours. With the many choices available in the city, I would not return to this place.

Great Steakhouse

By divakern |

This is a great steakhouse with a very upbeat and engaging staff. We enjoyed the lobster deviled eggs for an appetizer and the ribeye steak. All the food was great and so tasty. We will definitely visit Remington's again!

Right timing

By 23sportmom |

We got really lucky with our timing. After a Cubs game but before the dinner crowd came out. Able to walk in and were seated immediately. Within 45 minutes, people were coming in steadily. Meal was very good for all of us. We sampled seafood, steak & chicken, every dish was excellent. Service was outstanding, we were able to relax during & after the meal and not feel rushed out the door.

Excellent food, fast friendly service, relaxing ambiance

By Lori T |

We stopped in for late lunch on a rainy Saturday. We were greeted warnly and seated within a few minutes. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was served in about 15 minutes, and it was all uniquely delicious. The fish sandwich was nicely seasoned, the coleslaw was homemade, and the fries were hot and crisp. The portions were generous, so we share our sides around. The ambiance was relaxing and inviting; a perfect place to sit and catch up with friends. Prices were reasonable for the quality and location.

Always excellent

By Gretchen Lord A |

Great location across Michigan Ave. from "the bean" and just a few blocks walk from the Art Institute. Perhaps we should order something besides the branzino, but it is so delicious. Their signature drink (or one of them) is The Bean.

Nice family restaurant

By jean552 |

Fun and friendly atmosphere in the heart of downtown Chicago! Staff are professional and accommodating. The chef seems skilled at his craft.

Great location, good food

By KSRS2000 |

Great location right across from the bean. Anna provided us with great service. The guacamole was wonderful (truly fresh with small chunks of avocado). The burger was huge but quite salty and the fries were delicious. The old fashioned was wonderful as well and there was a nice selection of draft beers. My friend had the veggie burger and it was mostly rice and kind of fell apart, so not the best veggie burger but certainly not the worst. If it's a nice night, sit outside and enjoy the people watching of Michigan Ave and the park.

Very good food, inappropriate surcharge

By Caryle Geier P |

The food and the service were very good, and I was pleased that they seated us in a quiet side room. I was very unhappy, however, that there was a 3% surcharge on the bill. The server told me that this was a credit card processing fee and that it could be removed if we paid cash but we were not prepared to do this. There was also no mention of this fee on the restaurant's website or their menu; it came as a surprise, and the server did not mention it until I asked. I think this surcharge is inappropriate and their marketing is deceptive. I would have given the restaurant very good for food but poor if not terrible for their billing.

Awesome Dinner

By Thomas B |

Was in town for a Jazz Christmas Concert and happened upon this place from trip advisor, close to the Chicago Theater! Had an excellent dinner and great quality for the price, had dinner salad, chicken and creamed spinach which was amazing! Wife had the seasonal halibut dish with a sub of mashed potatoes and great wine! Service was great and will definitely be back when we visit again!

Business dinner event on Michigan Ave

By James M |

A group of us went here for a business dinner event. We had a private room in the back that easily accommodated our group of 25. The salad was very good. I chose the chicken fir my entree, it was excellent, nice crispy outside tender and moist inside. We had sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus also excellent. Chocolate cake and ice cream dessert , I could not pass it up. Great friendly and accommodating service. Great place and great location fir a business or romantic dinner. Enjoy and walk over to the Art Institute.

Great Lunch

By DJF1958 |

Fantastic salads. I had the chicken salad which had rotisserie chicken, mixed greens, avocados, craisins, roasted walnuts and a lovely citrus vinaigrette, absolutely wonderful.

The meal was way less than

By Drwilliams57 |

The meal was way less than expected. Halibut was way dry and not good the vegetables were not cooked correctly. Very disappointed. Will not return. Too bad. Was highly recommended by the Chicago Athletic Association.

Great service, very good meal

By Jeffery G |

We had a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival, our waitress was really nice, fast and continued to check on us throughout our meal. For appetizer we had the lobster deviled egg, and they were awesome. For entree I had the full rack of meals and they were very tender with a great sauce, the skinny fries were also very good. My wife had the chicken dip sandwich, she early like it and enjoyed the dipping sauce. The bill was very reasonable, good experience.

Good food and service

By Christine H |

We went for a late lunch on a Sunday. The french dip was tender and tasty, and we loved the Crab Louis salad. However, I’ve had better Brusselsl sprouts and they could been roasted a touch longer.

Fantastic service.

By lostinatlanta |

I would highly recommend this place for a business dinner meeting or for casual dining. Food was excellent and service superior. Location is great on Michigan ave.

Great Atmosphere

By closch7 |

Had a light dinner here after a long day of driving. Wonderful atmosphere with a big city feel. Walking distance from our hotel, we shared a Wrightwood Salad which was full of greens with chicken and a light dressing...delicious. Also shared an appetizer of scallops on risotto. Only two scallops but they were tasty. We also each had a cocktail and took a wonderful slice of key lime pie back to our hotel. Total was $72 without tip.

Nice place. Affordable on the loop

By spenta |

Good food & reasonably priced near the art Institute. Good wine list and not too loud. Skilled servers, low key elegance.

Room with a View and Great Food

By Joe G |

Had dinner with two clients at Remington's on N. Michigan Ave. Place was packed with cool people and business men on a Wednesday night. Even with reservations we had a slight wait but it was for a table at the window and well worth the 10 minutes we stood at the bar. Windows face N. Michigan Ave and the view is beautiful- thousands upon thousands of Tulips in bloom running the length of N. Michigan Ave. Stunning for a big city like Chicago. There is also outdoor seating at Remington's within an area in front of the restaurant which is ringed by flower boxes- very nice. Food was excellent. For my App, I had the Classic Wedge Salad with Blue Cheese Crumbles - fresh and crisp. For the entre I had the Prime Rib and Jumbo Baked Potato with "The Works". The Creamy Horse Radish sauce was fresh (and very potent!) just like i like it. Clients had the Crab Cake appetizer (stuffed with Crab), and the Halibut main course. Both were excellent. Atmosphere was "happening" with good music (slightly loud for me) but contributed to the lively scene. Great place to have a drink with clients and a Meal with a view.

This one of our favorite places, whether it’s brun, lunch, Happy Hour or dinner.

By joanhb2018 |

Love the lobster deviled eggs for an appetizer. Also the avocado crab toast is excellent. For lunch there’s a daily fish sandwich, which is usually delicious. My favorite lunch is the Crab Louie Salad. At Happy Hour there are $1.00 oysters! Never have had a bad meal there.

Bar Dining at its Best

Post - Art Institute visit, my friend and I dined at Remington's bar. Lindsey and Alexa were our bartenders and servers and did a stellar, if not phenomenal job. Our ribeye and Crab Louis were prepared perfectly. The Key Lime pie dessert was a good balance of flavors. Knowing the value of good business, one of the managers acknowledged our Art Institute visit by sending us a complimentary spinach artichoke dip. Thank you! Unfortunately, we witnessed a situation that was less pleasant to our dining experience. An older gentleman who appeared like a GM was rather crude to staff. We can only hope staff are less affected by this person's attitude than diners.

A surprisingly good find

By SNG56 |

We were walking up Michigan and saw this place which looked very inviting. Asked to see a menu, which sounded good so we went in for dinner. Seated in a cozy booth. Our waiter, Jason, who was outstanding throughout the meal came over and took our drink orders. Cocktails were excellent. We had 2 appetizers: the shrimp tempura, out of this world, and the crab toast, also tasty. I had the crab Louis salad and husband the French dip. Everything was wonderful, service was well paced, not overly pushy, not slow. Service can really make or break the whole dining experience and it was just wonderful throughout. Too full for anything else, we left very satiated and happy. We will definitely put this place in our rotation, next time we are in Chicago

A MUST visit Chicago establishment

By Rob C |

Great location setting, even better food and service. HIGHLY recommend this establishment. We were fortunate enough to meet one of the owners and had one of his “off the list” reserve wines - thank you Kelly, we loved the 98 Justin. You treated us to a gem. If you eat in the bar, ask for Bryce, top notch. Keep up the great job guys!!!

Meeting friends and a great lunch!

By RJK_Chicago |

We were meeting friends downtown after going to the Hamilton exhibit on Northerly Island, and this was our locale. We had a great meal, my wife and I shared a kale salad, which was out of this world: a great salad dressing and with peanuts. I also had a burger. It was really good, as were the frites that accompanied it. Remington's has a great location on Michigan Avenue and a very pleasant atmosphere. I am glad to find something in this area since it seems that, for a while, there were not a lot of choices here.

Great romantic birthday dinner

By KompassionateDr |

On Thursday, January 17, 2019, which is my actual birthday, my husband surprised me with a romantic dinner at this establishment. I have passed by Remington’s many of times, but never actually stopped in to indulge. I must admit, the ambience is romantic, and the menu is seasonal and reasonable priced. The Fall/Winter menu has a lot to offer. We had reservations, the hostess greeted us with a smile, and there was no wait. The waiter was friendly and prompt. I ordered as an appetizer the oysters Rockerfeller and my husband had the mini filet sliders. For the main course I ordered the crab cakes with fries and a glass of Riesling. My husband had the Remington, which is an 18oz steak with a loaded baked potato. For dessert, we shared the chocolate chip cookie cake topped with ice cream, caramel sauce, and candies pecans. Everything was delicious and the plate portions were phenomenal. We will definitely dine here again!

Restaurant staff spat in entrance of restaurant in view of guests eating outside.

By Sebastian L |

I am visiting from London. This afternoon I went to Remingtons 20 North Michigan, Chicago for drinks and a snack with a friend. Whilst drinking my wine and putting food in my mouth a black female member of staff left the restaurant, presumably for a break and whilst leaving at the entrance and on the property spat a big load of saliva to the ground in front of guests including myself. I reported this to two members of staff. This was disgusting. I have never in my life seen this done by a member of staff working in a restaurant. The staff member did not spit on the sidewalk, it was right outside the restaurant where the entrance is. The Covid pandemic is not completely over. I am totally in shock.

Eat here, you will not be disappointed by any aspect

By Julie L. M |

Located on beautiful Michigan Avenue, in a really great area. The restaurant is elegant, but not over the top. The staff was super nice and very attentive. I ordered the french dip sandwich, one of the best I have ever had! Prices were very reasonable also. I would eat here again, and highly recommend this restaurant. It was recommended to me by someone who lives in Chicago, so I took that as a huge thumbs up!

Excellent Service!

By Quiana S |

My husband, daughter, and I dined here for lunch & the service was excellent. The wait staff were all so very attentive, they all worked well as a team. The guacamole, artichoke & spinach dip, and rock shrimp tempura were all very tasty. The fish sandwich was good, but was over done. I had the carrot cake, it was warm and tasty as well. My husband had the skillet cookie and it was ok. The cookie didn't wow me, it was average at best. I would recommend dining here.

Finally Dined as a Couple This Time

By The_Loup_Garou |

Some years ago, I had sort of stumbled onto Remington’s, 20 North Michigan, just across from Millennium Park. I was impressed enough, that I planned on booking a table for my wife to dine with me on an evening, when she had no business dinners. Well, before I could do that, one of her business dinners (spouses included) was held there. Almost a year later (this was in September), we finally got to dine there, as just a couple. We were promptly seated in what I would term the “main dining room,” beyond the bar, at a well-spaced, and adequately-sized 4-top. I started with the wine list, and toyed with some of the more esoteric choices, but decided on a bottle of the Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. We love the Sonoma Coast Chards (have a friend, who has won several awards with his), and Paul Hobbs does a nice wine, whether it’s under his name, or his second label. With the wine on the table, we were ready to begin: Crab Toast w/ jumbo lump crab, avocado purée and lime - I recalled this dish from that group dinner, and it was just as good this time, as it had been then. Great tang to counter-balance the sweetness of the crab Tuna Poke w/ avocado, nori, macadamia nuts and a soy-ginger vinaigrette - Maybe we had just had too much tuna on this visit, because this dish, while reading great, just did not deliver. However, I was probably also comparing it to Chef Alan Wong’s, in Honolulu? Good, but not as good, as expected Caprese Bruschetta - Another repeat from an earlier visit, and the toast was perfect this time As I was going into “red wine territory,” and toyed with a big Pinot Noir. However, I decided on a lighter Zinfandel, as I was leaning toward beef, for my main course. I chose the Duzin Paso Robles Zinfandel, and it sort of did double-duty. We added: Chicken Tortilla Soup - Excellent with just a perfect amount of heat, and a creamy heartiness. This was a repeat dish, as well. For our main courses, we went with: No 8 Tuna w/ nori crust, kimchee rice and sesame-soy teriyaki - Much better than the Poke, and a beautiful presentation. 8 oz Filet Mignon w/ truffle béarnaise sauce (on the side), and a loaded baked potato - I had enjoyed Remington’s Filet before, and while good, it was not great - this one, however was! It was a perfect medium-rare, with an excellent sear. The truffle béarnaise sauce seemed more interesting this time, as well Service was very good, and both friendly and attentive. Our server was not the least bit intrusive, and we wanted for nothing, including pours from our wines. The restaurant has a “clubby,” but not in a bad way. The noise level was moderate, but then the bar, in the front of the restaurant was very full, so that probably accounted for some of the noise that we heard, as the diners around us were speaking in lower tones. The lighting is good, but the restaurant could use just a bit more, over each table. In all, a very nice evening, but as we were leaving, the rains caught up with us, so we had to take a taxi. We had walked from the Westin, and after this meal, wanted a nice walk back, but it was not to be.

Strong on Asian, Reception Somewhat Unfriendly

By MannyG2000 |

I had a very good Pressed Hamachi and Avocado Sushi, which came in a generous portion. It was busy at lunchtime, and the reception staff seemed a bit indifferent. I made a reservation but several people who didn’t seem to have reserved were seated ahead. Then I was placed in a darkened side-room, which gave the impression the receptionists thought I should be hidden from the other diners (a notion with which at least my mother would disagree). Somewhat later, the manager or possibly owner passed by, turned up the lights, and had a talk with the receptionist (this wasn’t in response to any complaint from me, it was spontaneous). My server however was bright and cheerful, which made up.

Great Lunch!

By daviddT1735JS |

Stopped for lunch after an architectural tour and had a great time. Wonderful service, fresh food and a delightful menu. We had salads and burgers, wines and beer, sat outside, and enjoyed lovely weather. The food was good enough that we will be back for dinner next time we are in Chicago.

Wonderful dinner

By todc |

We have a very nice dinner at Remington's. Prime rib, ribeye, loaded potatoes, grilled brussel sprouts, cocktails, spinach dip. Our waiter was polite, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our meal and would come back. Portions are generous, so we will likely order less next time.

It's very delicious, but it's a lot!

By 旅楽し |

I went back to the Art Institute of Chicago. We shared a spinach dip tortilla, sprout salad and prime rib steak. The salad was made with nuts and dried fruit and went really well with the sour dressing. The tortilla with the dip was so delicious that I overate it, and the steak, giant unbaked potatoes, were so delicious that I couldn't get to dessert. Note the amount.

Great Choice

By Julie M |

Wandering around and looking for something to eat on my first visit to Chicago and passed Remingtons. Menu looked fine predominantly fish but not exclusive. Invited in and given a booth. The servers were really good and looked after us. After a lot of travel didn’t want a big meal so opted for the crab chowder which was filling. Went for the bowl not the cup. After we chose a skilled cookie. Much bigger than we expected so thank goodness we only ordered one and shared. A great introduction to food in Chicago.

Nice casual dinner

By Medas2005 |

Had a nice light dinner here with some friends after a visit to the Art Institute. Very nice food and service. All of us had nice salads which were very tasty and fresh.

A good dinner spot before the Grant Park Concert

By rblumen1 |

We went to dinner with friends before the concert and had an delightful time. Our friends ordered a large salad and crab louie salad and we ordered the mini filet sliders sandwiches and the rotisserie chicken. Our choices were excellent. The service was outstanding and we were very happy. An excellent choice.

Nice place

By barbaravignola |

Very nice venue, in a great Chicago location across from Millennium Park. The waitress was very kind and nice. We asked for grilled fillets, one of which is cooked to blood. We had to send the fillet back because the meat was hard. The manager was very kind and had the dish replaced immediately with a great cut of meat. The bill is increased by 3.5% for the use of the credit card, but at the time of receipt they did not ask how we intended to pay and presented us with the bill with already the surcharge.

Everything so good!

By Lisa K |

Everything was so delicious! Appetizers, entree, desert and the service was great! Right by the park with inside and outside seating! We will be back for sure!

Dinner at Remington's

By J2826JH |

We recently went to Remington's for dinner and I would certainly go back next time we are in the city! Service was good. We really enjoyed the lobster deviled eggs and the filet sliders!

Remingtons good central location

By Miranda |

Food good but not exceptional for the price. Very central location. Ambience OK service efficient but impersonal

My go to location downtown

By Sandra S |

Excellent menu for food and wines... quiet enough to have a conversation with friends. Wonderful staff.

Great food lots of it!

By Squirkey |

Enjoyed dinner- steaks, pork chop and veggie burger all huge portions and very tasty! Atmosphere nice.

Upbeat Restaurant

By DLewis |

Upbeat restaurant and food was okay, but nothing I would give 4 or 5 stars for. Steak was a little overcooked and grilled vegetables has too much char on them for my taste

Enjoy a good drink next to Millenium Park

By Bastian |

This is a nice place to enjoy drinks after a long day in Chicago. The location is perfect, just next to the Millenium Park, and we were lucky to get a table with a good view. We did not have any food but the food on the menu card looked good.

Worth the stop

By Jeff R. |

a very nice place to eat. the food was good service was nice the location and atmosphere very nice. the prices not to bad for Chicago.

Impressed

By Jim |

This place was recommend near my hotel on Michigan Avenue. It is an upscale restaurant with a great menu. The avocado and crab salad was truly exceptional. I can’t wait to go back a try a few more items on their menu.

Amazing

By Novers |

We had a party of 10 in the wine room and it was amazing. The service, preparation before the dinner, wine, and food were all amazing. The crab avocado toast and shrimp appetizers were a big hit and we tried a wide range of dishes for dinner. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

Fun mother daughter dinner

By texasjulie |

I took my daughter to Chicago to see Hamilton, and hubby told me we could splurge on dinner. This place had good reviews and was close to our hotel. We split the Remington, a NY strip steak, and a baked potato. The steak was medium rare, just as requested, although a bit of the outside was a little too charred. The potato was lukewarm, but we ate it anyway. We had the skillet cookie for dessert, and it was wonderful. It was soft, not crispy, and melted in our mouths. I had a glass of Zinfandel, which was lovely and paired very well, and now I can't remember the vintner. Eva was a great waitress.

Best ribeye I've ever eaten.

By nathan e |

Remingtons was great from start to finish. We called ahead and they were able to make a reservation for us just a few hours later. Great atmosphere and friendly and attentive service from our server Maria. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the ribeye and crab cakes. We took advantage of the location and walked across the street to check out the bean and the Christmas tree. 5 stars!

Great service and food!

By DALC |

Mymom and I decided to check this place out for lunch during a weekday. We did not have reservations and they were packed, both in the restaurant and at the bar. However, we waited 10 minutes and a table opened up for us. We both had soup, salad and shared a dessert and everything was delicious. Price is typical for downtown Chicago. Service was fantastic! They also have several rooms surrounded in glass that were utilized for meetings, presentations.

Perfect lunch spot

By nataliewebb513 |

Everything was great! Food, service, atmosphere, price. We only came here based on google reviews as we were in the area and needed to stop somewhere for lunch and i'm so glad we did as it did not disappoint.

Last minute dinner

By Angie |

We needed a dinner reservation for 5 last minute and we found Remingtons. Food and service was excellent. We did have one issue with our daughter’s filet which she ordered Medium. It arrived very rare. They took it back and cooked it more. It was now charred on the outside and the inside was well. She ate it because she was so hungry! They comped our appetizer and gave us a dessert due to the initial issue. The atmosphere was very nice and the place was packed.

1 of our spots when we are in chicago

By B.J. B |

We have been to Remingtons a few times when we have traveled to Chicago. The location is great. The food is good but not amazing. We always get steaks when we are there. I think their method of meat doneness is about 1 grade down from where i expect it to be. If u order rare, it's still basically raw. If u order medium, it's what I'd call rare. The service has always been good and we've enjoyed going there.

excellent pre concert dinner spot

By Ronald B |

Four of us went to dinner and all enjoyed our meals. My wife had the steak sliders and I had the chicken dinner which we both enjoyed very much. Our friends had several of the salads that they too enjoyed.

Lunch with charm and taste in front of the park

By Tchelo Campilho |

We had lunch at Remington’s and the experience was great from start to finish. The Wrightwood entrance salad already impresses by its combination of flavors. In the main, the fettucine with shrimp and clove stood out — marked taste and well-executed. Mac and cheese, too. We closed with an American-style carrot cake, different from ours, but delicious. Excellent location and food at the height.

Great service and food

By Bryanne |

Amazing Seafood! During the visit, I enjoyed amazing salmon and crabcakes, among other things. Our server was just as amazing.

Business Lunch

By Sduke22 |

Had a really good lunch here recently. We had a private room, mid restaurant in what looked like the wine room. Fantastic setting !!. Staff were really good, food and drink were pretty quick given it was busy and we were a group of 12. Good selection on the menu from the signature tuna steak, to salads and burgers. Something for everyone. A very relaxing nice afternoon spent. Recommended.

Great Cocktails and Decent Eats

By Marianne |

Pre-concert dinner with my cousins was at Remington‘s. I’ve been to this restaurant once before for dinner. Our server was Darren, who was very attentive and friendly and went out of his way for me. We started with a round of cocktails and I asked Darren for a gold rush, which is a bees knees only with bourbon. Darren made it happen and it was perfect. My husband had an old-fashioned, actually two so it must’ve been a good cocktail. For dinner, my husband had the mahi mahi sandwich. A generous sandwich with perfectly cooked fish with a nice sear but still moist. It came with a side of shoestring fries. I had two appetizers as my dinner, the lobster deviled eggs and the tuna poke. The deviled eggs were creamy and delicious and had a little kick of heat. The tuna poke had the freshest tuna and the crispies wontons. Both dishes were delicious. It definitely would come here for appetizers and cocktails at the bar.

Excellent cuisine

By Durwood N |

This place came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. We had chicken, even though apparently the steaks are very good. Our food was outstanding. We had also a spinach, artichoke dip and crabcakes. Everything was absolutely outstanding. The service was impeccable. It is very highly recommended by us and we will definitely return.

What you want is what you get

By EdgarCosset |

Sometimes all you want is a pleasant, straight forward American bistro. What you think you are ordering is exactly what you get. On this, Remington’s delivers. We went for a quick brunch and weren’t disappointed. Raw oysters are touted on the chalkboard. Salads and sandwiches rule the menu. We split the steak and eggs, and the server brought it on two plates, always a good sign. They offer 12 beers on tap ranging from Stella Artois to Half Acre Daisy Cutter; nine standards like Bud and Coors are available by the bottle. The avocado toast with crab was a winner worth repeating. Located at the end of Michigan Avenue’s restaurant row, north of the Art Institute, it has the feel of a well-run corporate steak-house of the ‘90’s. Large TV’s at the bar tuned to sports channels, a combination of high tops, booths and tables and a dozen shaded street tables complete the effect. On this bright day, though, the full glass front let in lots of welcome light. Remington’s bills itself as an “American classic.” It’s a fair statement.

nice place in great location

By s l |

Wonderful service with Jason. Liked that it was open all day so you could pop in after ice skating or just to warm up. The food was good and the environment was cozy and pleasant.

Quaint

By MACBAW |

It was a very cold Chicago night, 10 degrees, and I was looking for some good comfort food. The menu was much more upscale than I planned on. But its a really good diverse menu. I had the Crab Cakes, they were a really nice size and had a lot of crab meat, and not a lot of breading. It came with a nice remoulade sauce. I am from the deep south, so it takes a lot to impress me, but this sauce was really good. I will definitely go back here. The bar had a good vibe as well.

Fabulous Dinner

By nikki_mcd123 |

We went to Remington’s on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy but the staff was attentive. There are several group rooms off the main dining area for large parties to eat and have their own private dining area. The food was very good. We ordered the quac and chips for an appetizer. Our meals included the short ribs with polenta and the turkey burger (no bun) with a side of Brussels sprouts. We finished the evening with the creme brûlée and a flourless cake. The cake was extremely rich-it was great but we preferred the creme brûlée out of the two. Staff was great. Food was extremely tasty!!

It’s All Good

By TJLK2013 |

We stopped in at Remington’s for appetizers and drinks before a concert and were more than pleased. Seating was comfortable and well distributed; the service was prompt, professional and pleasant; the drinks were good and the food excellent. The portions were generous and the preparation interesting. The spinach artichoke dip was excellent, as were both the ceviche and the kale salad. It is not a venue for bargain hunters, but, given the location, not at all unreasonable.

Excellent breakfast for a reasonable price

By Karen G |

We stopped there for breakfast while walking around, we had no idea what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. The food is delicious, hash browns were amazing, really well done and the price is fair. We regret not going there for dinner, maybe next time.

Fair Prices and Fantastic Food and Convenient Location

By Alisha E |

For a big city, I did not expect a fair price on an 8 oz filet that came with the potatoe and not having to pay extra for it. It was simply perfection and so was everything else...the ambiance, the service, the food quality....all exceptional. My only complaint is that I was too full for dessert! I would go here again & again. And it's convenient to the theater district and across from the "bean" at Millenium park right on Michigan Ave. Don't miss this place.

Order the Wrightwood!

By Jennifer07 |

My work is headquartered nearby and I stop here for the Wrightwood salad every time I’m in town. Service is always fast and friendly and this salad is amazing. I mean...I’m not even a salad person...but I LOVE this thing.

Good location. Good service. Good food.

By SConTheMove |

Located on Michigan and close to theaters and Symphony Center. Menu with choice for a light meal or full dinner. Bar area overlooks the street if you want to people watch or you can sit in the back where there is quiet ambience. Servers know the bar and food menu and provide excellent service. Roasted brussel sprouts are shareable and superb.

Business Meeting

By Mr. Hill |

This was my first visit to this restaurant. Actually didn't even know it was there. I was impressed with the wait staff and the setting was comfortable with a great view of Michigan Avenue. Located across from Millennium Park and the iconic Bean. Great spot for a meal.

Enjoyed a great night of beer and small plates

By Russell M |

Joined a friend for a couple of beers and we sampled numerous small plates. Made for a great evening. The brussel sprouts and deviled eggs were great, as was the spaetzle mac and cheese. Not sure what cheese combination they used, but it worked! Roasted scallops also worked and grilled asparagus was nice as well. We sat near the bar and it was pretty loud. Glad it was just the two of us.

Beautiful place - Bland food

By Consultcinda |

The restaurant is a lovely place for a quiet lunch. It’s all dark wood and elegant. Service was attentive. My Wrightwood salad was large with a generous amount of chicken. No flavor stood out - it was tasteless, bland and without any zip. My friend seemed to enjoy her chicken dip sandwich. We would try the restaurant again but definitely get something else.

Affordable Eating at the Bean

By MoccasinMike |

Amazing quality and value for the location. The food was top notch and prices, especially drinks, low for the area. Service super friendly and attentive, my beer was never empty. Best fish sandwich I have ever eaten. Have the Schlitz on tap, you will be glad you did. Expect $30-$40 for hamburger dinner with a couple of drinks.

Fabulous service

By Passport18505635554 |

My wife, Geraldine, and I 1st visited Remington’s just over a year ago, whilst visiting Chicago from UK, enjoying it so well we revisited yesterday. Fabulous and efficient reception from, manager, Daniel. Great food, drinks and service, especially from Daniel who intervened, without our request, to ‘rescue’ my wife’s wallet On our next visit; we will definitely come again when we are in town. Unreservedly recommend Remington’s with a good range of draft beers too. Many many thanks Daniel, for your friendly professionalism, dedication to customer service and reactions! Cheers, Martin

Good Food and Location

By WanderLSP |

I had a great lunch here after walking through the park. Ordered a few appetizers for lunch. Nice wine and good service too.

Good fishes

By Emily Z |

We had the Branzino (sea bass) and the cod special with risotto. The sea bass was perfect and the cod was light and flakey. The service was good. The restaurant is across from Millennium Park so there’s a lot of foot traffic if you’re on the patio. I’d probably sit inside next time.

Excellent Restaurant

By loriab917 |

We went here for a business lunch, the service was great and the food was delicious. They seated us quickly, and we did not wait long for our lunch. We had a reservation and the sat us in a private room, where we could talk and it was a little more quiet. Great place I would love to go back.

Bang average experience

By Dinerdoll |

Recommended by our hotel, food was average and expensive for what we ordered, chicken with mashed potatoes and cheese burger didn’t come up to our expectations. Both dishes were basic to say the least, presentation poor and bland in taste. Wouldn’t bother visiting again !

Family Brunch

By Janie B |

We visited last Saturday for brunch with our daughter and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was really tasty and the surroundings were extremely pleasant. It was a great start to our day.

Nice selection, excellent service

By brmusicman |

We went here, with friends, for a late lunch following a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago, which is nearby. The restaurant was great about accommodating a party of 5 on short notice. Service was great throughout the meal: an attentive server, quickly cleared plates, refilled drinks, etc. Kudos! The menu was focused on American favorites with a somewhat Asian twist, along with a couple of more Asian focused dishes. Nice mix of heavier entrees, salads with proteins, and sandwiches; it wasn't hard for anyone in the party to find something they wanted. Nice selection of wines and beers. Food wasn't remarkable but was by no means bad. A steak salad was beautifully presented, with a nicely cooked steak. Turkey burgers, with an Asian flavor, were tasty but a mess to eat due to the sauce, which somewhat soaked through the bun. Fries were crispy and delicious. The outdoor patio was a nice location on a sunny fall day. Mixed bag, though--there are large plants that do a really nice job of shading it from the busy traffic on Michigan Ave., but those plants attract the pollenators, so watch out for the bees! Overall, a nice experience--frankly better than I thought it would be. Wouldn't hesitate to return for a nice lunch if doing touristy things in the area again.

Good Food Friendly Staff

By Rebca10 |

This is a welcoming restaurant. Everyone was cheerful and the service was great. Our wait person, Alexa, did a wonderful job taking care of our needs. I had the lobster deviled eggs. I enjoyed them, while hubby was a little meh over them. I had salmon that was fresh and cooked to perfection. My husband had the fish sandwich and loved it. They have a full active bar with drink offerings for everyone.

Terrific Place across from Millennium Park

By Warren K |

Passed this today as I was walking down Michigan Avenue. Checked with my concierge and it got their blessing. Sat at the bar with a very friendly crowd. Our server John was so nice and helpful. Young & handsome. Started with happy hour oysters. Loved it! Then had branzino , tomatoes and asparagus for my entrée. Wonderful experience on the magnificent mile!!

Great Bloody Marys & French Dip

By jlrex |

This is a nice, very welcoming stop for great food, cocktails, and wine. Strikes the perfect classy comfort balance. Great menu, great service. Comfy booths. One of the best Bloody Marys I have ever had. They don't go for gimmicks like pizza slice and bacon garnishes. Just a perfectly blended classic Bloody Mary.

Exceptional find on a business trip

By gemcdowell |

My boss and I choose to get a reservation here while on a conference trip. The reservation came with free crab toast that was so tender and delectable. It had avocado and a spicy chile pepper on it too. I wanted to branch out into seafood for dinner so ordered the special, swordfish and broccolini. I was not disappointed! It was grilled to perfection. The waiter even brought me a special tarter sauce when requested. I also sampled the mac and cheese my boss ordered and it was just as gourmet! Expensive, but worth a special trip!

Wonderful dining experience in heart of city.

Excellent atmosphere, food and location. Staff is warm and friendly, GM and owners are amazing! You cannot go wriong dining on Michigan Avenue in the sidewalk cafe or the open door setting at the bar.

Pleasant Spot For Lunch With Friends

By benbmke |

I had a casual lunch with friends here, and was very happy with the food, service, and environment. We were seated quickly, and I chose a filet with grilled asparagus and fries. The filet was flavorful, with a nice char, and the asparagus was excellent as well. This was not a destination restaurant for me, but I enjoyed my experience nonetheless.

Good Food ... Bad service

By SandyMcD1953 |

Just finished dinner at this lovely restaurant and while the apps and steaks were fabulous the service was terrible. Our server was Ria and while the place was only moderately busy, Ria seemed arrogant and disinterested in serving our table. We started with drinks and wine and when we asked about the crab toast... her response was "its good.". While we were pleased to know they served good apps we were actually looking more for a description. We were planning to enjoy our drinks and then order but Ria apparently had another schedule. We ordered and when the other server delivered our food we did not see Ria for awhile. We were attempting to order more wine. We finally asked a different server if they could track down someone to help us. We really enjoy 4Star Restaurants and every time we visit Chicago we go to Fresca, Crosbys and Tuco& Blondies as our son lives near Southport. So tonight's meal was a huge miss. For the quality of food, It seems like they could hire a higher quality server. We won't be back, but will certainly enjoy the other restaurants.

Very good

By VaKo |

We came across this restaurant by accident. It was nearby our hotel and we decided to give it a shot. We left very satisfied. Very good service and great food. Atmosphere of the restaurant is a huge plus. I would recommend their mini filet sandwiches. They were perfect for the starter. Overall, very good restaurant with delicious food and good cocktails.

We came to Remington’s for a proposal celebration

By Andrea Sanchez |

We came to Remington’s for a proposal celebration. We wanted something romantic and still good to eat. The restaurant is very nice itself. I really liked the dimmer lights. It’s clean the the waitress was very nice and polite. Everyone was nice and polite! The service itself was excellent. The ONLY downfall is that I feel like the prices of the steaks are heavily over priced for the quality. I have had better steaks at that price for sure. But the cheeseburgers were reasonably price and very good.

Sehr lecker

By Haig |

Remingtons in Chicago is a super great restaurant. The staff are very, very friendly and knowledgeable. The food, super tasty. We had the "All American Burger". Cooking level hit perfectly and the fries were delicious. As an appetizer the shrimp and the lobbster on eggs. Delicious and well served. Everything is just right here. Price, service and quality. Great Option in downtown Chicago

We had a reservation for 9 on a Saturday evening. We were pleasantly surprised we were in a private room. The food and service was excellent! I absolutely would come back and highly recommend the Remington.

A classic American grill and it’s excellent!

Great location: walking distance from the Art Institute. Delicious food and the best wait person I have ever had! Why? Alexa new the menu, the cocktails, wine and beer forward and backwoods. All her suggestions were terrific! She was efficient, friendly and professional! Would definitely dine here again and hope Alexa was our server!

Expensive but Good

When going to Chicago expect sticker shock - but this was worth it. Ate in the bar as a single and felt comfortable. Wide variety to choose from.

Brilliant!

Great buzz. Lovely looking place festooned with beautiful Christmas garlands. Superb food. What a start to our Chicago adventure.

Delicious dinner- wonderful staff

Had a wonderful post theater dinner here recently. Two of us shared multiple appetizers and split an entrée. Lobster deviled eggs were heavenly. Oysters Rockefeller were good but I touch over. Grilled artichokes came with a delicious aïoli. We then shared a ribeye ordered medium rare which came out medium well. The kitchen recooked it for us, and sent some of their Mac in cheese to keep us busy in the meantime. Enjoyed a delicious bottle of hitching post Pinot Noir over the course of the meal. The server and the manager were both very nice and super helpful.

Excellent always

I've been to Remington's several time for lunch and dinner and everything from the atmosphere, excellent service, incredible drinks, and food that is perfection. I always have the lobster-stuffed deviled eggs. Best you will ever have. Crab toasts are perfection. The shaved brussel sprout salad is delucious, and all of their specials are fantastic. Have not tried any of the meats they are so well known for, but will next time. Key lime pie is phenomenal. You will not be disappointed. Make a reservation and enjoy a fantastic and memorable food experience. Just celebrated my dad's 80th there.

As Caroline our server was

As Caroline our server was pleasant, the overall service left us wanting. The good was so so. We ordered oysters Rockefeller, filet minion and crab cakes. Oysters we fine, crab cakes were ok and the filet was cold. Manager decided to reheat instead of getting a new one. Disappointed for sure. They did however remove the filet and our appetizer from our bill, but honestly I would rather have had a complete meal. Hard to recommend to others.

A safe option for a good bite!

This is a nice spot with upscale american food! Our waitress was very informative and energetic. We made a reservation for super early “dinner” hours so it wasn’t busy. Overall we all had a good time!

Love the food and the ambiance

We ordered french dip and a burger. The french dip was probably the best I have ever had. Cooked perfectly, rare, sliced thin and served with outstanding fries. The burger was also good, with fries but I would definitely order the french dip If I returned. The place is beautifully decorated. At first it seems dark, but each table has a light that is focused down on the table so menus are easy to read and each table seems private.

Yummy

Great fish on Michigan Ave

We had a fun visit planned for Chicago - nice hotel, theatre to see Hamilton, and wanted to walk to a convenient restaurant. So based on Trip Advisor we tried Remington's. We loved it. It is a stylish place with modern ambience. We were seated outside which meant right by the open windowed the bar. This was way too noisy for conversation. We asked to be moved and that was no problem. For dinner we had the scallops and the crab cakes. The scallops were wonderful. Perfectly prepared. Certainly 5 star. The crab cakes were very good also. Plenty of crab and not much filler. Excellent wine choices. Very enjoyable dining experience.

Simply incredible!

We were only in Chicago for two days and we went to Remington’s twice! The food was divine and the drinks were tasty. Great wait staff as well. Try the oysters and crab cakes!

Excellent steak and food tbh.

Was in Chicago for the weekend with my motha and brother and we were walking a lot and wanted a good steak so we stopped here. Really good food. And our server had a lot of spunk and was hilarious. She made it fun as well. We had the artichoke dip to start off with. Was a delicious dip and tasted great. Wish I had more. We also had the mini filet sliders. They were good but not a big fan of blue cheese. So it had a funky taste kinda. But still good. And then my mom and I split the 16 oz Ribeye. Was cooked to perfection and tasted great. Flavor and seasoning and everything. Great place to try a steak. And then to top things off we had the cookie skillet with almonds and ice cream. Was delicious. Great way to end the long day in Chicago. I’d def recommend.
