Another great dinner

By FuzzyBeaver |

Appetizers were grilled tuna and asparagus salad. The tune came with a very tasty mix of greens, onion small tomatoes and dressing. Very yummy. Mains were rabbit, spring halibut and pasta with shrimp. Each dish was perfectly cooked. So many restaurants overcook the seafood but these were perfect. The menu is always changing by the season has many interesting dishes. Service was superb. Great wine recommendation. I want to note how accommodating they were for the small child with us. Special cup and beanie baby to take home! A truly wonderful meal. We have been eating here since it opened a few years ago and it continues to be excellent.

Very enjoyable experience

Thank you, Trip Advisor. While passing by on I-5, we read about this neighborhood restaurant and decided to give it a try. It’s easy to get to off of I-5, and has free, on street parking. Good service, delicious food, nice ambience. All in all it was an enjoyable experience. Look for a sandwich board sign on the sidewalk. It’s located on a corner. There is no overhead sign.

Great neighborhood place in Wallingford!

Chanced upon Restaurant Christine while walking around Wallingford with family. Had used TripAdvisor to look for "restaurants near me" and had picked out a different place only to find it closed for an event. Spotted Restaurant Christine down the street and decided to give it a try. I was very pleased with the food and the service to the extent that I wanted to write a review, only to find it was NOT listed in TripAdvisor - an omission that now appears rectified. The food was very creatively done, and I was especially impressed by a salad that included locally ingredients that included foraged fiddlehead ferns and rhubarb both of which were then pickled.

Charming place with great food!

I just searched for "Small restaurants in Seattle" and this popped up. It's a charming place in Tangletown, with delicious food and white tablecloths. The server and chef were very personable. One suggestion - Don't bring the soup at the same time as the main lunch plate. We needed time to digest the rich soup before eating the rest of the meal.

Fabulous find in quiet Seattle neighborhood

We ate here last night. Walked down with some friends who live nearby. We met the owner Adam and saw the photo of his grandmother for whom the restaurant is named. What an unexpected experience. Gourmet food, friendly service. I had the Squash Blossoms, Scallops Carpaccio and Polenta. All exceptional, but the scallops were unlike anything I have had before. Delicate, rich, satisfying. I asked for them warm instead of just seared and the chef accommodated. Highly recommend and encourage others to try this new Seattle restaurant.

Sadly bad food experience

Never expected such a poor tasting food experience. Our guests seem to enjoy their pasta dishes, yet my husband and I were in disbelief with our food. The garden salad included odd “raw ”chefs choice vegetables. Raw green beans, slice of radish, raw cauliflower on non in season lettuces that was over saturated with dressing. The side order of shrimp saved the day.I ordered the halloumi cheese appetizer as an entree. The peppers and sauce had abundant flavor yet the cheese itself wasdefinitely off in taste, so the sauce was wasted. I asked for a side of vegetables. The restaurant offered ones I didn’t want yet the waitress suggested a side of mushrooms. When they came, they were dried, reconstituted!!! My husband ordered the halibut. The taste was bland. The sauce and side were tasteless as well.

A very nice dinner.

Stopped in for dinner on our way to the nearby Good Shepard Center for an Uncle Bonsai Concert. We are very glad we did, it was quite delightful. It was hopping, but not too noisy and the staff handled it well. We tried the beetroot & fiddlehead fern salads, the Halibut, Chicken, and Hanger steak. All were very good. Everything was well cooked and flavorful. It was a nice place for old friends to catch up and enjoy a tasty meal.

We had a delicious and reasonably priced dinner at Restaurant Christine, last evening. I'll have the seafood with pasta entree anywhere it's offered and Chef Furler's Seafood with Tagliatelle is one of the best I've had.

Great family meal

This is an awesome neighbourhood restaurant. They are very welcoming of children. The food is great and they prepare wonderful children's dishes. The mains were all wonderful, especially the sable fish. The wine list is quite extensive and very modestly priced. A wonderful experience overall so we keep coming back. Highly recommended.

Very good food in a neighborhood spot

We were visiting friends in Seattle, who recommended this small restaurant in their neighborhood. From downtown hotels, it could be reached on the #82 bus, which went right by. Otherwise, a short drive from downtown. Cut to the chase…there was a spinach soup on the menu that day, recommended by the server. We went for it and were richly rewarded! Fantastic soup, thick and tasty, with a bit of melted cheese floating on top. We followed that with a BLT sandwich, again very, very good. It arrived with more bacon that we are used to, a pleasant surprise. Our friends were equally pleased with their meals. I think the menu changes daily depending on what’s available in the local farmers’ market, so the emphasis is on “fresh”. If you’re in the area, you won’t regret stopping in.

Perfect rainy weekend lunch

Visited on quiet Saturday to catch up with companions over a nice meal and this was the best spot. Very relaxed, homey atmosphere. Could not decide between the clams with pasta and oyster po boy so they kindly prepared an oyster appetizer special and it was incredible. Clams were great as well. Also had the chicken sandwich (ok), the brisket sandwich (superb). Full bar in next room. Italian desserts that looked great but will need to try in future frequent visits. Highly recommend.
