We had a family brunch here after my son proposed to his girlfriend in the Arboretum. It was fantastic! Food took awhile to arrive but was delicious. The decorations for Christmas were lovely and the area set up nice and warm on a cold day in December. I was very pleased with the service and quality of our food.

You're going to need a lunch stop for the lengthy period you'll be spending in the superb gardens. A picnic's a possibility but why not try this charming restaurant. The inside dining room was originally part of the DeGolyer house and there's a large outside area if it's a sunny day. Sensible lunch options as well as high tea if your inclinations lead you that way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stop and would recommend it after you've had a tour of the house and a wander in the gardens.

This review is too long in coming, my apologies for that. we visited in early November and had lunch while visiting the Arboretum. Christopher was our server and if I remember correctly it was his second day on the job. His service was first class and he was very attentive at all times. He is to be commended for exceptional service. the food was also very good, and it was great to sit outside and eat lunch while we watched a gentle rain. thanks for the fantastic lunch experience. if we are ever back in Dallas we will visit again.

Sweet surprise to find this little Tea Room in the midst of the beauty of these gardens, Chihuly's installation, and yummy melon soup, a quiche that was really well done, and all the salads we could chose from.....Good rest and rehab for our family.

Strolling the arboretum on a warm summer day is nice, but one does yearn for a bit of air conditioning. Our group's hunger led us here. Dining inside provided the air conditioning, and we had an unexpectedly delightful lunch. Our server was friendly, service was prompt, and the food very tasty. Most of us had the tea sandwiches and salad. Even a big hamburger and fries guy like me enjoyed it. We sprung for dessert and the pies were good too. It was a terrific addition to a great visit.

What a lovely way to spend the day! We had a 11am tea reservation and arrived at 10 to explore the gardens. We took the free tram ride and learned so much. Tea was just perfect from the Chestnut Soup to the salmon mousse and tea sandwiches and finally the decadent desserts! We took so much home because everything was so filling!

Beautiful setting on the grounds of the DeGolyer estate. Service was good, food is ok (nothing spectacular), good place to sit down and relax for a bite to eat.

We were there on a Sunday and they have a magnificent lunch. However, my friend and I split a Turkey BLT sandwich and some rosemary potato chips that were to die for!!

Love the Dallas arboretum. It is a jewel. Restaurant DeGolyer has a beautiful outdoor seating area to enjoy the view and the food is quite good. Unfortunately the customer service is not very good. They insist on seating you at a table of THEIR choice even when you come in for lunch just as they open and plenty of tables are available. Very rude service people.

We were served by Nelson, a very attentive and charming man who has worked here for 10 years. The teas were delicious, as were the sandwiches and small desserts. A charming experience!

We didn't expect the superb luncheon that we experienced here. Dropping in on a whim, to get out of the sun, Gil's Elegant catering at the Cafe DeGolyer was staffed by experienced waiters who took pride in providing world class service. The meals were excellent! An all around combination of fun in an intimate setting!

Very good salads and a good children's menu. Reasonable prices, comfortable dining with excellent service.

Beautiful atmosphere with a menu with good variety. If you have kids, you'll have to eat outside but that's actually quite pleasant with the music and grassy areas for them to play while they wait. Good food.

As I was enjoying an afternoon by myself at the arboretum I just had to treat myself to lunch at the DeGolyer restaurant. Located inside the DeGolyer house is this pretty place to have lunch either inside or outside. I enjoyed sitting inside looking out at the courtyard and the beautiful blue sky. The menu was nice and prices were reasonable. The food was good and was enjoyable with a glass of wine. The waitress was very attentive as well. Great place to have a meal while enjoying the gardens.

The ambience inside Restaurant DeGolyer is charming and retro. But outside on the patio or looking out the many windows makes the gourmet lunch even better! I take friends and family here for special occasions. A walk around the Arboretum, topped off with a grand lunch and superb service. It beats many 5-star restaurants around...in my opinion.

Great place for a light lunch, food and service were very good, our wait person, Sandy, was outstanding, try to get her. It is a perfect place to eat and rest while you are visiting all the great plants and flowers. BUD CARTER, TEXAS

The menu was simple, innovative and the food was delicious. We had the Salad Niçoise was amazingly good with a large piece of salmon, and all the Niçoise ingredients. The decor and atmosphere were delightful. ...very enjoyable lunch.

I do not recall if it was fish, meat or chicken...it was not unpleasant to bear, but it did not thrill the senses....either taste or views.

We live in a city near Dallas. Every year, we went to visit the garden when it has the different theme for the season. We stopped by to eat in the restaurant yesterday 10/18/15. Beside the meal, I ordered a glass of wine and water for both my husband and myself. For our entire meal, we notice one of the waiters went around each table to refill waters for the patrons, EXCEPT our table. I hate to use the race card, but we were the only Asian patrons in the restaurant at the time.

The DeGolyer Restaurant is located in the heart of the 66 acre Dallas Botanical garden located on the SE shore of White Rock Lake. It serves either a lunch (Monday through Friday) or Brunch Saturday or Sunday or afternoon tea. For brunch or lunch reservations are only required if you have a party of 8 or more. Reservations are required for afternoon tea. They have a vegetarian menu and can substitute and make some things gluten free as well. They are open most days 11 am - 3 pm. A paid admission to the Dallas Arboretum is necessary to pay for or you cannot even access the restaurant. Arboretum pricing is $15 for adults, seniors greater than 65 $12, children 3 - 12 $10 and under 2 free. Parking is $15 per day or if booked in advance on-line $8. Members of the Arboretum get free parking and free access to the botanical garden. A wonderful place to visit.

food is Great ..large sandwich ...yummy! air con inside room for yankees ! mostly good staff but get ignored every now and then .. one is a bit stuffy .

It was very hot the day we were at the Arboretum. There are outdoor seating restaurants, however we opted for indoor with a/c! It was quite delightful. The peach tea we had was very refreshing and the Medianoche Turkey Sandwich I had was delicious. My friends both ordered the Three Tea Sandwich Plate. They enjoyed them as well. This was a nice stop on our tour and I would eat there again.

The waiter only visited our table to take the order and deliver the check. It took 40 minutes for 2 salads and 3 sandwiches. Very disappointed in our experience.

I've only been for lunch and always sit outside so I can't speak to the more serious dining aspect. But it's a wonderful place for lunch with a friend in a beautiful setting. Like being on vacation for a moment. Usually service is top notch, although last time it was good, but not great.

My daughter and I took my 70 year old aunt for tea in celebration of her birthday. What a lovely experience! The food, service and setting equaled sheer perfection. Yummy soup and tea sandwiches were followed by scones, petit fours, and tarts. There is also an option for champagne which we chose since we were celebrating. We sat in front of a cozy fireplace and dined on fine china.

We sat outside and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the gardens. Our salads were very good (my husband had the Cobb while I had the trio salad). The wine list is very limited and overpriced for what is available so we had a local beer. The beer was good & cold. Service was a little slow but with such a beautiful setting it was ok. This restaurant was the highlight of the Arboretum.

We attended the Christmas tea - it was fabulous. The service was fantastic (loved those white gloves) and the food very tasty and filling. The Spode Christmas china was elegant and changing out the cups after each type of tea was a class act. I spoke to others there who said that all the teas are well done like this. I would highly recommend you take the time if you like tea (and I love it).

The wait was more then an hour with no reservations. We forgot to bring a picnic to the Arboretum though, so we wandered through the garden while we waited. The menu was very simple, but the food was elevated so that things that are normally pretty good, were amazing. Glad we stopped for lunch here!

This restaurant is beautiful! Lovely dining room filled with antiques. Service was a bit slow, but they were extremely busy. Food was excellent. Three of us had the tea sandwiches plate with soup. Tomato with basil was perfect on a cloudy, cool day! One of us got the salmon and it was superb! We all got different desserts and enjoyed sharing with each other....no one made a bad choice!

It is a really great idea to visit the DeGolyer restaurant in the Arboretum Dallas. It is located in an old mansion and also a great venue for celebrations. After a stroll through the awesome arboretum you can have great food here. A highlight was the High Tea with my daughter and friend there.

I was in Dallas for a conference and spent a lovely afternoon wandering around the Dallas Arboretum with friends. We had tea at the DeGolyer which was great fun and made a lovely late lunch (we had the 2pm seating). There is just one thing I should mention. If you are real tea lover, you may be surprised that they do not serve any traditional teas. We had 3 kinds of tea. Their

I was excited to have high tea here as we love the gardens, but unfortunately it was kind of a bust. The savory part had weak finger sandwiches with too much mayo that weren’t chilled. The chicken salad puff pastry was pretty good but the rest really was more elementary school crust less sandwiches. The sweet had good scones but the rest just wasn’t that great or memorable. They did it as a tea sampling so we ended up with three teas, never seen that before, and the teas clashed. Better to stick with a single tea. I wish I had better news to report, but other than attentive service, I would skip this event.

Our son and daughter-in-law live in Dallas and brought us to the DeGolyer for dinner. The atmosphere was quiet, with a rustic elegance. The food was wonderful and the wait staff were friendly and described the various entrees. I would definitely suggest a visit when you are in Dallas . . and reservations!

We had lunch here twice in the last month. We were all pleased with the selections available and the choices we made. The salads were fresh and the daily specials particularly good. The waitstaff on both occasions was outstanding.

I love coming here for a Sunday brunch, when the weather cools down. They have a great patio with a very nice view, and live piano music during the brunch hours. The menu is not earth-shattering, just your standard brunch fare. They do offer brunch drinks as well. The place is kid-friendly, and mostly family-oriented, as is the Arboretum itself.

The little restaurant tucked inside the DeGolyer mansion at the Dallas Arboretum is truly one of my fave little spots in Dallas. Most little restaurants within an attraction are not that good. However the food here is fantastic. I tend to order the same thing- the salmon nicoise-and it is always PERFECT. And a great value. The high tea is frankly one of the best in Dallas. There is a charming indoor area with the original fireplace- the tea room area that is by far my favorite. Though I must admit on a recent visit the tea room was full and we had to eat in the covered, heated patio- and we were pleasantly surprised- while the indoors is cozy- the patio with the heaters had spectacular views of the surrounding gardens! WIN WIN!

I have always wanted to try the restaurant at the Degolyer mansion and had reservations with several other couples for a dinner before the holidays. Right off the bat, our reservation was messed up and we did not get the table we had asked for and been assured that we would get. No apology was issued and the hostess just shrugged it off as "oh well." Not to cause a scene, we settled in and let this go. Drink orders were taken quickly and the bar service was quite nice. The wines were all very good. Service the remainder was the night was very lackluster. Orders were messed up. Salads were sent back without dressing. Bread and rolls came out late. Drink refills were hard to come by. The entrees were all okay but certainly nothing special and not worth the cost. They were out of one dessert and the other choices were nothing special. Overall, we had a very negative experience. The ladies restroom was out of toilet paper! (Really??) The atmosphere was nice - everything else was subpar. This was a very disappointing evening.

Lunch on the patio at the Restaurant DeGolyer was a lovely experience. The food was very good and the atmosphere was wonderful. The gentle breeze, the piano music and the extraordinary view made this a special event.

Visiting the Arboretum is always a nice way to spend the day, and we recently stopped and ate at the Restaurant DeGoyler for the first time. Having walked by it many times before as we tour the gardens, I was curious if it would be worth the stop. We enjoyed lunch on the sun drenched patio, while live music played in the background. The lunch menu was not extensive, but our sandwich and salad combo were very tasty. The service was a bit slow, but this is the kind of place where long lunches prevail and many sip glasses of wine...so our rushed 1-hour lunch was probably not the norm...the whole operation seemed to move a slower pace. The gardens are gorgeous, the old house which houses the restaurant is spectacular. While it might be slightly overpriced for the what you get, the views and atmosphere more make up for it.

We enjoyed an English Tea at the DeGolyer Restaurant in the Arboretum. The entire restaurant was delightful with holiday decoration and a wonderful atmosphere. The food was excellent and we had English tea sandwiches and soup. The bottomless Mimosas was a great deal and complimented the food. Priced affordably and fair for what was received. A great experience.

Don't miss Garden Tea or week-end brunch at the DeGolyer, located within the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Excellent food, beautifully served, followed by a walk in the gardens!

Arboretum beauty can't save this place for brunch. Very fast service but the food was kind of a joke. Luke warm mimosa and migas that didn't offer much in the flavor department and French Toast that tasted much like toast with crème brûlée sauce spread on it.

Ate at this restaurant while visiting the arboretum. The grounds are beautiful and the piano music was a nice touch. The chicken salad was excellent but my husband thought the meat on his cobb salad was terrible. They also overcharged us on the bill and had to have them run it again.

For just an appetizer, drink or full meal, the DeGolyer House is a great place to sit for awhile and enjoy the views or the roaring fire. Very classy and a great way to get away from the crowds on a busy day.

I had an exceptional experience at Restaurant DeGolyer on a perfect spring sunshine filled day for a "friends day out". I recommend getting there at opening time at 11:00 to get a great spot outside on the patio. We had a lovely view of White Rock lake, under a cozy umbrella with relaxing live piano music in the back ground. I had the salad trio which consisted of Seasonal Fresh Fruit Salad (Unadorned - fruit at its best), Chicken Salad (Tender chicken with dried cherries and Texas pecans) and Spinach Salad (With bacon, tomato, egg, and champagne vinegar dressing). All for a very reasonable $12.50. I also had a refreshing glass of chilled Trinity Oaks Pinot Grigio ($7.50 a glass). The stroll amid the tulips in the garden prior to our delightful early lunch was heavenly.

Had an excellent lunch here while at the Dallas Arboretum. Nice menu with many choices, and the service was friendly and professional. The setting can't be beat in Dallas!

Excellent service, no reservations were required on a Saturday. Beautiful dining inside and out. Awesome and delicious salads, sandwiches. Perfect for a sisters and mom lunch day.

Service was prompt and efficient. The trio salad combo was delicious. Hard to beat listening to piano music while drinking a glass of wine in such a lovely setting,

My wife and I had lunch here while seeing the Chihuly exhibit. It is a lovely, indoor setting with a large outdoor patio. The decor and table settings were excellent and the service was very good to excellent. It is the only place for a sit-down meal at the Arboretum. They also serve beer and wine and were serving what looked like a very nice high tea service. I had the Turkey tetrazzini with side salad and my wife had a chicken sandwich. The food was very good. My only concern was the small portion size of turkey tetrazzini and the cost, which seemed to be 1-2 dollars higher than we thought appropriate. Otherwise, it was a very nice lunch in a relaxed setting.

There was a guy playing the piano, service was great. food was nice but slightly on the expensive side and simply good atmosphere.

Nice sit down place with AC. Nice break, great service and good food.

Nice place to take a lunch break at Dallas Arboretum. Menu choices were interesting without being strange and prices were fairly reasonable.

Delicious food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Their friendship teas and holiday teas are delicious, served beautifully, very special.

A delicious lunch in beautiful surroundings plus very helpful and pleasant staff. All the ingredients for a perfect lunch

My Mom and I were at the Arboretum and decided to eat here. The panini melt with chicken was a very generous portion and the rosemary potato chips were tasty. The cost was about $15. My Mom ordered a green salad with chicken salad on a croissant and enjoyed it. The wait staff are very attentive. My tea was filled very quickly. Some other ladies were there for the English High Tea ($50/person). Reservations are required for the tea.

Tea at the Restaurant DeGolyer is such a special time. Relaxing atmosphere, beautiful setting and impeccable service make this an incredible experience. The Holiday Tea has become a holiday tradition for myself and a group of friends. It is such fun to try the wonderful teas as we have soup, finger sandwiches and dessert. And of course, we always have the champagne. That just makes it all the more special. And for the first time this spring, we went to the Garden Tea, which was just as nice as the Holiday Tea. At a time when everyone seems to be in a hurry, this is an escape from all of the hustle of the world. We are looking forward to trying the Sunday Brunch very soon. How many restaurants do you have the opportunity to stroll through beautiful gardens on your way to be seated!

A visit to the Arboretum and DeGolyer Home would not be complete without lunch at Restaurant DeGoyler. The menu is diverse and should satisfy all tastes. Started with potato leek soup and then moved on to the crab stuffed avocado salad. Service was great. Many long time servers who have been working there for years.

After our tour of the DeGolyer House at the Dallas Arboretum, my wife and I decided to try the Restaurant DeGolyer which in the early days served as a playroom for the DeGolyer grandchildren. The menu is surprisingly varied and the food is quite good. We both tried the three salad selection which includes chicken salad with pecans and dried cherries, a spinach salad and a fruit salad. We also shared a piece of bourbon pecan pie which is one of the best deserts I have ever tasted (don't miss it). This is one delightful way to end your visit to the Arboretum. I highly (and I mean highly) recommend this restaurant. J. Randolph Smith Monroe, LA

The ambiance is nice. We dined for lunch on New Year's Eve and they still had it decorated for Christmas. I ordered the three tea sandwiches and soup. My daughter had the chicken fingers with fries from the kid's menu. We waited an inordinately long time for sandwiches and chicken fingers. The lunch was average. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either. We also ordered praline creme brulee when we placed our lunch order. Again, we waited for our dessert far too long. My daughter really enjoyed the dessert. The creme brulee was done in a tart crust instead of a ramekin. Tasty! I will return, but probably only for a special occasion like a tea or special dinner.

This restaurant had a spectacular view of the lake with the Dallas skyline in the background. The menu had something for everyone with tea sandwiches, brunch and mimosas!

I was here last Spring for Dallas Blooms and had lunch in the full service restaurant attached to the DeGolyer Mansion. It was so good and such fun to sit outside that I did it again yesterday. It has an indoor or outdoor area and the menu is nice, food is good and so relaxing to sit out on the patio and enjoy the gorgeous 70 degree day yesterday. There are several other places to grab some soup or sandwich or drink all over the park. See the Webpage for full info and photos/menus. Loved it and will be back soon.

Sitting on the patio at the DeGolyer and listening to the wonderful piano music in the garden is just heaven!

We enjoyed the food at this restaurant in the Dallas arboretum. Tasty sandwiches, fresh salad, non-greasy homemade potato chips. Waitress was pleasant and competent. We would definitely return.

Took a break during visit to arboretum for lunch. Enjoyed their tea sandwiches and King Ranch casserole. both very tasty. I was an enjoyable lunch

Your ad on “Special Plated Holiday Menu” or “The Elegant Festive Holiday Dinner Experience” is completely the opposite to what we experienced on the night of December 7th, 2022. What you are advertising is not what you really gave to us healthcare professionals. Your Holiday Dining experience deserves ZERO STAR! With this worst experience of a lifetime for a special holiday dinner, I don’t think we, the 33 guests, deserve to be treated like that. We Asians, Carribean and Africans (all healthcare professionals) came here in the United States to take care genres of patients in various states regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, beliefs, etc. I don’t want to think that this is a subtle case of discrimination, but it seems it is. Our tables were prepared or placed in an area with no single holiday décor, not even a festive décor on the tables. The worst thing was there were no guests that were eating under the tent area and we were placed or assigned in a non-decorative part of the restaurant. It was very hurtful. It was a huge disappointment. Because of overwhelming evidences (emails, pictures, videos), I believe that Ma and Ann should be suspended or even be fired from their work. These two people should be held accountable of what happened as we evidently informed them way in advance (since October 3rd, 2022) as we provided complete information. This is how mad we are with the whole situation. (Please compare the picture that I posted with the picture they advertised in dallas arboretum site) LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PICTURE that I took during the night of our Holiday Dining Experience! Did you see any Christmas Holiday decors in our tables or in our side? Did you see any festive Holiday lights? Do you think that this is considered as a "Special Holiday Plated Dinner"? Do you consider this a "Festive Holiday Dining Experience"? Moreover, we were served with cold food (the food is bad actually), we were treated badly, not even one server was welcoming to us, very unfriendly, disrespectful, unprofessional, they shouted our names in our group, we had messy orders, they started late, the server does not know about types of wines and more.

Sunday brunch at the Degolyer house is never a bad call. I love the quiche and soup but you can't go wrong with any of the menu items. It is well worth a tour of the historic home itself before or after you dine. I recommend the terrace for a truly lovely experience, weather permitting.

This is a restaurant inside the Dallas Arboretum. It is in a very old building that is modernized. The food is very good and they have a pretty good variety of items. They have a very nice outdoor area overlooking White Rock Lake.

My family and I really enjoyed our brunch here. We were seated outside overlooking the lake with light music playing. It was very nice. The food was excellent. The only con about this place is they do NOT have a kids brunch/breakfast menu. It really disappointing, but overall great.

Beautiful setting but below average food. "Chicken" of chicken and waffles was food service frozen strips like Dairy Queen and Sonic and were terribly over cooked. Butter was good. All of our 5 meals were COLD. Skinny club sandwich was large and good along with side of chips. Coffee was good. Sadly will not return to restaurant but can't wait to return to Dallas Arboretum in the spring.

Enjoyed a pleasant lunch with my husband and parents as we visited the arboretum. I had the broccoli cream soup and house salad. It was light but tasty, but it hit the spot. My parents enjoyed the King Ranch casserole which they enjoyed. Lastly, my husband had the Monterrey Chicken sandwich that he really loved. I would definitely recommend this dining place for others.

Wonderful champagne tea with a friend. I called the same day and they were able to accommodate us. The tasty treats are delicious and very filling. I will return again and again!

My friend and I met for high tea. I felt as if Agatha Christie would join us at any minute. Our server was Robert. He was excellent and told us about the three teas. The food presentation was incredible: three tiered serving platters with sandwiches, then the grand finale of a three tiered serving dish of tiny desserts. We each also enjoyed a glass of sparkling rose. I will definitely come back. The fee included the tea, gratuity, entrance to the Arboretum, and parking. The sparkling wine was billed separately at the table. I had visited the Arboretum a few weeks previously and enjoyed the tour of the house. I recommend the tour!

After walking the Arboretum we enjoyed a delicious lunch by the fireplace in the DeGolyer house. The room is cozy with nice ambiance and quiet enough for conversation. Service was good and portion sizes huge.

It isn't so much the food, it's eating outside in their terrace that makes it special. Their sandwiches are good, but nothing out of this world. The service is friendly and professional.

Excellent service and food in the middle of the beautiful Dallas Arboretum. What more could you ask for?! Definitely add a lunch stop to DeGolyer when planning your visit.

The salmon and the chicken were awesome! Server was great and very fun! Loved the outdoor tables overlooking the lake. Put your name on the list before you stroll the gardens, then check back in a little before the time your table will be ready. The wait is long, but if you do it this way, hardly any at all. And so worth it!

I commented upon the Restaurant DeGolyer in a review I wrote about the Dallas Arboretum. We had just finished a tour of the DeGoyler home and simply walked around the front of the house to enter the restaurant which has taken over some rooms of the former family home. The interior seating is most pleasant with formal table coverings and a most attentive staff. We enjoyed two seasonal soups - pumpkin and zucchini which were perfectly prepared and presented. The pumpkin was sweet as such soups are and the zucchini was creamy and a bit salty but not overly so. We followed the soup with a shared dish of kale/garbanzo bean cakes covered in a delicious red sauce presented with side dishes of green beans with red peppers and rice. Prices are reasonable and the staff attentive. Take time to enjoy the meal at this restaurant in the Arboretum.

Restaurant DeGolyer, located inside the Dallas Arboretum, put on a wonderful Mother’s Day Brunch. We had our choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Bottomless mimosas of various flavors were available, along with a tremendous variety of food & desserts. A very nice way to celebrate this event.

We love the food here. I like their cold drinks but dislike the humid outside. We hope it is located indoors

This is a wonderful sit down restaurant at the Dallas Arboretum. I have been here many times and have always enjoyed my lunch. I have had sandwiches, chicken breast and caesar salads. It has an elegant and quaint atmosphere. I have never been disappointed with the food, always good.

Old quiche, lukewarm soup. Decent service, lovely patio but poor food quality. The lemonade tasted like powdered Country Time, not fresh

We ate here while visiting the Arboretum. The food was good. It was a pleasant surprise compared to the Perot for example. The food at the Perot is horrible. Everything here appeared to be fresh. Good quality and nice portions. Some really nice salads with a nice presentation.

Not impressed, especially for the price. We brought my mom in-law for Mothers Day. She had the chicken salad and really liked it. My husband had the salmon and he said it was very good. I had the French Dip and was charged extra for cheese? ? (In my mind, it should be included). However, the ambience is unbeatable. The view of White Rock lake, the trees, birds, squirrels and flowers. That's why we come to The Arboretum, right! Next time we'll keep to our usual routine and picnic.

To enjoy a lovely lunch in a gorgeous surrounding at the Dallas Arboretum. Always great service and fare. Perfect for small group luncheons as well. Would definitely advise a visit any season and most celebratory events provide a great venue to enjoy with business, friends or family!

Good service. Lady playing a Harp on the Lawn was very nice. I had the 3 Sandwich Trio. Not pleased with it. Didn't finish it,but that's just me and my taste. Busy Day there. Had to wait for a Table.

Restaurant Degoyler is in the middle of the Dallas Botanical Gardens in the Old DeGolyer home. The view from the back of the house with the gardens and White Rock Lake. The food is good and the service is excellent. It is a little pricey but you are paying for the beautiful location and view. We would eat there again. You must make reservations.

I ate at the Restaurant DeGolyer while visiting the Arboretum and Botanical Garden. I ate outside on the patio and it was lovely. They have a great view of the trees and garden. The wait staff we friendly and attentive. I had a bowl of their corn chowder. It was delicious. I mean lick your bowl clean delicious. It was a very nice meal with great ambiance.

I was expecting overpriced, blah food and got just the opposite. Very reasonably priced, especially for the only indoor (air conditioned) restaurant on a hot day. Lunch was plentiful, delicious and flavorful with a good variety of dishes. We saw an older group of ladies even having high tea. Highly recommend.

Not only was our lunch perfect and the food prepared perfectly, the overall experience was wonderful. The food was fresh and delicious. We were able to enjoy a truly beautiful day at the Dallas Arboretum and eat out on the patio surrounded by a host of flowers and view of White Rock Lake. Our service was attentive and friendly as well! A truly perfect day!

Eat in the outside patio area, this is a very peaceful setting, the menu is great, the service is prompt. They have wine, tea and soft drinks on the menu for your beverage choice. They have Garden Tea in the DeGolyer Tea Room Daily from 11am to 2pm. The menu choices are great although we have not tried this yet.

Visiting Dallas, we were taken to the Arboretum where after an enjoyable couple of hours wandering around the gardens, we stopped at the restaurant in the centre of this wonderful are to enjoy a light lunch. Being a sunny and warm day, we sat outside to be assailed by fans blowing cool air; it was almost too much. However, that did not spoil our enjoyment of the food and the service, both of where were of high quality - we would certainly recommend this venue,

My family and I came here for their high tea around Christmastime. We had made reservations ahead of time (not sure if you have to have reservations but would assume so for high tea). The room where the high tea was served was very nicely decorated for the holidays and the dishes they served us on were pretty and Christmas themed. Our wait staff was attentive and did a good job of explaining what each item was. There are three different teas served and three different courses. First course was a soup, second was many different tea sandwiches and third was deserts. We all had a nice time. It is somewhat pricey (like almost 50$ a person) but it includes admission to the arboretum grounds and parking so that helps. We were able to walk around and look at the 12 days of Christmas displays after. My only con is the bathroom situation as there is not a bathroom inside the restaurant so you have to wait in line to use an outside bathroom along with the people walking around the grounds. There was a wait each time which cut into tea time.

We have eaten here several times while visiting he Arboretum and have felt well received by the staff and the food has always been more than satisfactory. If you have not stopped in at the DeGolyer before why not give it a try?

We has reservations for thier Harvest Tea. Nice place, pleasant atmosphere. We had three different teas all delicious. The tea sandwiches were scrumptious, however the scones were dry and overcooked. The desserts were hit and miss. Because the setting and company was so great and the sandwiches and tea were so good, I'd like to go again and give it another chance. Everyone can have an off day.

I recently visited Restaurant DeGolyer in Dallas and really enjoyed it. The view of White Rock Lake is beautiful, and the outdoor seating makes it a perfect spot to relax. The food is fresh and tasty, with simple but satisfying options. The staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. Definitely a great place to enjoy a meal while taking in the scenery.

Restaurant DeGolyer is one of several eating opportunities at the Dallas Arboretum and offers the most upscale menu. Note that this is not 5 star food, but rather good food served in one of the most unique setting in Dallas. If the weather is nice be sure to ask for a table outside on the patio. On the weekends there is usually someone performing music to set the mood and the surroundings of what USA Today called one of the top 15 gardens in the world make the setting special. Service is good, although if you arrive on a busy weekend at opening (11 am) you may have to wait a short while to be seated. The lunch menu offers a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches and several entrees as well as offerings for the kiddos and a selection of deserts. The Sunday Brunch menu has a variety of egg dishes along with salads and sandwich options. Again, a children's menu is offered. In addition to non-alcoholic beverages they offer wine by the glass and bottle as well as mimosas, peach bellinis and pointsettias during brunch. And for less than the cost of two mimosas you can order "endless" and keep them coming as long as you're dining. We were here on a beautiful crisp fall Sunday in October. We rode our bikes from the house to the Arboretum and strolled the gardens and took in the pumpkin patch before having brunch. We had the crab, Gruyere and avocado omelet and the Migas along with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc for me and Pinot Grigio for Cara. Both were good, the crab omelet was lighter than I imagined and the Migas were tasty, the only complaint there would be to offer something other than breakfast sausage with the dish. Chorizo would be ideal for the dish but thick cut bacon would be a suitable substitute. Note that admission to the arboretum is required to eat at this or any of the other eating options at the Arboretum. Cara and I are members and if you love this park/garden and live anywhere close by it's well worth the annual membership fee to become a member. You'll be supporting one of Dallas' jewels and have access (including parking) year round. Next time you're at the Dallas Arboretum and want a little break swing by the Restaurant DeGolyer for a bite or just lounge at a table, sip a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful view.

If you are visiting the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, be sure to eat lunch at this restaurant. The food and service are exceptional. We ate inside since the outside seating was full. Inside or outside, the atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful.

Service was excellent, food was presented beautifully and delicious. The resturant was conducive to conversation and relaxing.

The Dallas arboretum in spring and fall is absolutely divine. My friend and I went to enjoy the Dallas Blooms and she bought me lunch here for my birthday. Lucky for us it was 75 in February! So, we ate outside enjoying the scenery. I had the salad sampler, fresh fruit, chicken salad with dried cranberries, and spinach salad. All very good. We splurged and shared a dessert, lemon shortcake with raspberry sauce drizzled on top. So moist and light, perfect ending for our lunch. Highly recommend going there for a relaxing, delicious time.

We had lunch and the server brought the initial check which was just the itemized check. I presented a credit card for payment. When the check and credit card were returned for tip, total and signature it stated that there would be a 3% charge for credit cards. I decided to pay check and tip in cash. I explained this to server, laid out cash for check and tip and retrieved the card. We waited for a cash receipt; none was brought. We had to honor an appointment, went to hostess and asked for our receipt. She disappeared and never returned. Since have called the restaurant 3 x’s, left 3 messages - nothing. Paid two times for one meal…, RIP OFF.
Beautiful
I absouletely loved the gardens and was quite hot whilst I was there and I managed to stumble upon Restaurant DeGolyer. They unfortunately had only high teas on offer and as I was by myself was disappointed, however the waitress offered me another menu. I simply ordered a sandwich and salad and it was devine. The wine I purchased was also wonderful. Staff were lovely. Had a lovely view at the back of the restaurant overlooking the gardens.
