Nice place to visit

Very nice place and great food. They have a live music, very beautiful sitting place outside. Very nice waiters are working there, they even brought us some food after the kitchen was close

Gamarjoba is an absolute gem that offers exquisite Georgian cuisine and hospitality!

Gamarjoba is an absolute gem that offers exquisite Georgian cuisine. It has a beautiful atmosphere that is welcoming and filled with traditional Georgian hospitality. We have visited several times and every time the food, service and attentiveness were exceptional from the personnel and the owner, who is very passionate and offers wonderful recommendations to try something new to suit your taste! You can enjoy a live band and the energizing atmosphere or can ask for quieter private ambience. It is great for couples as well as families or larger group of people. There were six of us and this was an excellent spot to share and get a taste of the wonderful Georgian recipes, e.g., amazing chicken dish, the breads with special Georgian cheese, different salads, different kebabs, etc. And it is a must to leave some space for their scrumptious desert! Ask for their special – it is simply outstanding! Gamarjoba is hands down one of the best I have come across in a long time, and I absolutely recommend it!

Delicious Food!

Excited to visit this Gamarjoba restaurant in the Northeast Philly. Herring was delicious! Fish Roe was fresh and tasty! Meat was well grilled. Delicious food! Service was quick and friendly. Great restaurant!

Amazing food, extremely rude waitress

By Coding_duchess |

First time at this restaurant and everything was great. The wine we ordered was amazing, shish kebob was out of this world, khinkali, khachapuri, everything was delicious. The ambiance was very pleasant as well. One thing that was unpleasant was the service - our waitress was downright rude and nonaccomodating. I was in shock as I never expected such treatment at a Georgian restaurant. She spoke to us through gritted teeth, had an extremely unpleasant demeanor and even pushed a child without appologizing. Small requests were denied. We were treated like am incinvenience. I must say, I never thought a Georgian person could act this way. Even thought the restaurant was excellent and other staff was very friendly (the lady who brought out the drinks was wonderful), I am not sure any of us want to come back there if we will be served by that waitress.

My worst restaurant service experience

I with my wife went last night to this restaurant for a dinner. Food was not bad, even I may say good. However, we ordered hot jasmine tea, that they brought in a glass tea pot, approximately two cups. The tea was too strong. We never drink so strong tea. We asked waitress to bring us some hot water that we could add to the tea and make it less strong. The waitress refused to bring hot water replying that she is not allowed to bring hot water to customers. We did not drink the tea. By the way, the price for that small tea pot was $14.00.

Very pleased with this restaurant!

First time here... drove an hour to get there and worth every minute. The place is clean, well decorated and the staff was very nice and accommodating! Three adults shared and appetizer and 3 meals and each one was even better than the next. The food is very reasonably priced which was a nice surprise considering how good the food was! I highly recommend trying this restaurant out. The food had surpassed my son's approval and he had been deployed for 9 months in Georgia, just last year. Just an FYI... they don't serve wine/beer/liquor... it's a BYOB. I didn't know this, so I was a little disappointed that I hadn't grabbed a bottle of wine to bring along.

What a great place

We purposely sought this place for a nice Saturday lunch after searching on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. The place is really nice inside. There’s a very cool bar connected to a room full of nicely spaced tables. We had Khachapuri that was out of this world. So fresh and delicious. We also had Khinkali Kalakuri and Lula Kebab. Both were flavorful and tasty. A+. Everything was perfectly seasoned. We would go back in a minute and can’t wait to try some of the other delicious dishes. Highly recommended. Looks great for a family outing or a dinner with friends. Or a date night.

Fantastic and Authentic! Fast and reasonable - great winning place.

Our family was passing by in the area and we decided to stop over for lunch. What a great find! First impression: they have clean table cloths and nice silverware with cloth napkins!! This got us right there... but we kept raving with every new dish the server brought in, it was not just delicious, hot, and timely, but also very authentic, comforting (like grandma's) and reminding of "home". Try soups, hinkali's and bread.... Georgian salads are to die for, and of course - the grill (shahlik's are simply divine!). Watch the bill though, they automatically add 15% service charge... and yes, you would want to tip this place like crazy!

Delish!

Amazing Georgian food! The khachapuri (Georgian bread) is finger licking good. The girls that work in the place are very nice and helpful with making food choices. Love it. Been there twice so far and already scheduled to go twice more this month. Can’t wait!

Tasty food along with perfect service

This place is perfect for all who loves Georgian food (sometimes it is close to Italian). Great chef and friendly waitresses make it like a family dinner.

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to!

From the time I called to reserve to the time we left the restaurant 5* service! We happened upon this restaurant from a Google search. The manager treated us like celebrities. The food is AMAZING! We will be back.

Elegant? no....Very good food? Yup! Service was excellent, all of the wait staff was friendly and attentive! We have never had Georgian food before, and wife and I went for date night. The staff was patient and enthusiastic about helping us understand the food, and what was authentic. We were very pleased with our selection, with the help of our waitress, Tina! Yes, highly recommend, we will be back...see you there!

One visit is enough.

Mediocre restaurant, great service but over all somewhat overly pricey. I have eaten Kacchi Puri in Georgia but it turned out to be cheese filled pizza in Gamarjoba.I am sure for local Georgians, the menu and food is great but nonGeorgians need to go for one time experience.

Solid food but loud music

By HappyTravelerLeeG |

Let me start with the decor, move on to food, and finish with music. The decor is cozy with warm colors and brick walls. We tried several meat dishes and king suluguni (think pizza stuffed with cheese and cheese on top). The meat was tasty but not too spicy. Since I like spicy I was slightly disappointed. The suluguni was superb. The only thing I didn't like is that the live band was very loud. We couldn't hear each other. Overall a solid place to eat.
