worth a visit and a glass of wine

By lmckenzi13649 |

Very neat place for a $15 glass of wine to walk around and sit on all the spacious and comfy furniture in this restored building. Didn't think the lunch menu was worth the price but the views and atmosphere in the atrium area are just stunning. Lots of well dressed, affluent looking people so very fun people watching. Servers seemed slightly snooty but kind of goes with the territory. My girlfriend and I killed an hour walking around gawking at the $20K couches with a glass of wine in hand. those couches sure are comfortable though.

Lovely roof top

By Jeff B |

Sit outside on the roof, relax and and enjoy a drink, no hurry, no worry, spent a delightful afternoon there. Or dine inside on the ground floor (NO comment- did not eat there).

Beautiful and Elegant

By Kevin Anderson |

The settings are absolutely stunning. And the service is akin to a five star hotel. The food is not the sho piece here, it’s the surroundings. Even if you just go for tea it’s well worth the visit. Do not miss it.

Lovely restaurant with delish foods!! 💕

By mamabasil |

What a delightful lunch with such a lovely setting to enjoy our Delish lunch with Burrata, Lobster Roll, Rose' and Peach Bellini. Just divine! It is so pretty in here! I felt like I was in France. I'm looking forward to bringing my family here!

Pleasant Experience

By Geri C |

The building is beautiful, both inside and outside. Five floors of beautiful furniture. Great ideas. We waited 2.5 hours for lunch. While we waited for our table, we stopped in at the bistro for wine, juice, lemonade and green drink #1. The meal was satisfying. The top floor is open to the outside. Very comfortable. The furniture is comfortable and welcoming while you wait.

Chicago Tourist Hotspot

By Tierney J |

The Three Arts Café at Restoration Hardware is definitely a must-see on a trip to Chicago. the wait time can be pretty extensive, so time your arrival properly. The food is amazing and the environment is obviously beautiful, furnished by RH.

Worth the wait

By irene d |

Surprised at the museum type store. Lunch wait was 90" wait but we filled the time with drinks and snacks at the wine bar and exploring the absolutely magnificent store. We met fun people and really enjoyed the day. The 4th floor outdoor patio was perfect on a beautiful day with great views. Late lunch, early dinner was great. We had chicken and a burger. The home made warm melted chocolate chip cookies are a must try. Definitely plan on spending the day st RH.

Lovely lunch spot!

By Valleyforgegirl |

While visiting Chicago my niece and and I enjoyed a lovely lunch in the restaurant. The food was delish, the service was excellent and the ambience by the fountain was perfect. Definitely a must when visiting Chicago. After lunch we walked around the store and got a look of ideas.

How cool!!

By Kevin B |

Great room in the center of the Restoration Showroom...sit on long couches and enjoy platters of food, and simple wines. Great way to spend an afternoon. Take a glass of wine with you to tour the various floors and before you know it, the day is gone.

Pricey But Cool Experience

By JeffB32 |

First you put your name in. Next you grab a drink and walk around the five stories and check out the furniture and outside decks. When they seat you in the open air (think middle of the building) the servers are right there to take your drink order. The menu is minimal, but they definitely have some solid staples. We went with the cheeseburger (a double cheeseburger) and the French Dip. I have to say that both of them melted in your mouth. We were with about 8 other family members and everyone of us enjoyed our meal and experience. Again, a little pricey, but hey - it's Chicago.

Relax and Enjoy

By Rebecca B |

While walking the neighborhood our party of four stopped for quick refreshment and relaxation. One can tour the facility and enjoy the products and design. The top floor with the outdoor garden is delightful. (Food is served, but we didn't stay for dinner.) Fun!

Amazing architecture and delightful food

By Passingthru63 |

I went here one morning for the spectacular building where the company presents it's covetable furniture & lighting and ended up visiting the cafe in the truly beautiful atrium. Wow is all I can say. It was full of happy people enjoying the sunshine, so we sat just inside near the most striking concrete bar I've ever seen. Go for the breathtaking decor - but stay for the pistachio donut and very good coffee.

Beautiful Space in the Gold Coast

By casa1234 |

One of the most beautiful spaces to meet friends for a drink or a bite to eat in the Gold Coast. RH has opened their signature store on the corner of Goethe and Dearborn in the Gold Coast. They renovated the old Three Arts Club and it is stunning. Not only can you shop there (with a glass of bubbly), but they also have a coffee bar and a beautiful glassed in dining area with a fountain in the middle. All of the furniture is, of course, from RH - comfy couches and chairs make you feel more like you're in someone's home (a REALLY nice home) than in a restaurant. A great place to meet for drinks or a bite to eat. Try the grilled cheese and truffle fries. Yum! Pets are welcome!

Like walking into a different world.

By ellen b. |

Probably the most beautiful store I have ever seen. The huge atrium is gorgeous with all the plants and skylights- all the rooms are perfectly appointed. I have never dined there but you could not pick a lovelier place to eat or grab a glass of wine. The furniture and lighting displays are so well done. You could stay in this place for hours just exploring all the floors and rooftop- great views from there. A very nice concept.

Fabulous experience!

By tishvigna1 |

This restaurant and entire experience was sensational. From the moment we sat down, we were served our wine and suggested that should we choose, we could wander throughout this incredible old building and view all the furnishings! The food and service were also exceptional and only second to the ambience, truly majestic!

Relaxing appetizer and drinks

By Margaret R |

Food here is pricey for what it is but that said it’s delicious. It’s a fun place to browse the gorgeous furniture and accessories while waiting for your table You can also get a glass of wine to enjoy while browsing. Sitting in the atrium for your meal is very relaxing. Seating options vary from sofas and comfy chairs to Norma dining tables. Be sure to make it to the top floor to see the garden floor and outdoor seating areas.

Everybody a glass of wine

By JVD-Netherlands |

What a great building. We went on a Sunday afternoon and everybody in the store was holding a glass of white wine. The top terrace is beautiful. Staff is friendly. Clients want to be seen :-)

Straight or Straight Acting Male? You are upgraded to 'Invisible Dude!'

By AREA423dotCom |

Straight or Straight Acting Male? Be prepared to absolutely ignored. Is this a furniture store or a "cafe" that sells furniture? They try to be both and the result is a horrible cafe and a horrible furniture store. The staff of both could care less about customers. You find someone, you place an order and you sit on the furniture. But, really, this place has not a clue what it is trying to be. Bad food, bad service, haughty taughty staff, (you better be trendy or the snobs won't even make eye contact. Dirty plates and glasses really left on furniture really make it appealing. If you are management- please contact me. I can give exact details of my two visits.

Wow!! Just amazing!!

By Karen H |

My husband and I went to Chicago for our wedding anniversary. We were told we had to go to Restoration Hardware for lunch or dinner if we want a little something different while we were shopping. We thought it would be a nice thing to do for one of the afternoons while there.... well, I had no idea how gorgeous this would be...omg! Just beautiful! The lunch was just amazing, the wine... outstanding! All while we sat under a glass and iron roof over the terrace that is part of this place. I have always been a big fan of Gary Friedman from Restoration.... but now, I'm a groupie!! This guy knows how to market.... he has furniture, his art division, his music division, wines.... and now food, and not only delish but beautifully presented! All while music plays in the background and the sound of water dancing in the fountains around you! Sure.... pack up a few couches to go!! I love this place!!!!

Grand elegance

By Jane S |

A must visit. upscale elegant architectural atmosphere. Just chill on a sofa with a coffee, Sunday Brunch, or grab a burger. 4 floors of furniture and design...incredible.

Relaxing Three Arts Club Cafe

By alchemy00 |

This is a very nice venue... it is absolutely beautiful!! This new cafe has crystal chandeliers above and is very elegant a setting. The glass-ceilinged interior courtyard is nicely restored and refurbished. The restaurant food is basic but is very well done. The prices are $$$ but are a very fair value. The ambiance is very relaxing and of course a retro feel. The roof top will be great in the spring, summer and fall time frame. The fact that RH Chicago is not a store but a showroom and in one of the nicest and least commercial neighborhoods in town. I would recommend this as a must see place. It is in the Gold Coast after all and so very relaxing!!!

A great food and dining experience - wished that the menu was more interesting.

By Joepure |

Set in an old private club and operated by the Restoration Hardware retail group, this is a novel way to spend a wintry afternoon wandering in the different rooms and designs before or after your meal in the glass-ceiling covered atrium. As we were there for a late lunch - the limited menu was not a big problem for our group. We each picked things that could be enjoyed by everyone and shared bites. The hamburger was quite excellent! The Lobster Roll was universally thought to be "meh." The team service was consistently friendly, albeit a bit "rushed" given that we were enjoying the people watching and our own company. Salted chocolate cookie and ice cream was quite a nice way to finish the meal. However, the menu would not have satisfied our group for a dinner occasion, and I think this is an area that the management team at RH should really consider. I would definitely recommend this go on a short list for out-of-town visitors. It's fun and the mix of environment, people watching and food works.

Wow!!!

By Maria G |

Restoration Hardware or RH gallery is a must see. My husband was aghast that this is a store. There's a pantry where you can buy wine or coffee and sip as you shop. The fifth floor rooftop garden is a great place to sit on a sunny day. The GE Searchlight from the 40s was interesting. Next time we will have lunch there when there is not a two hour wait. Add this historical building and shop to your next trip in Chicago.

Good Food, Expensive!

By kirbyfredstpaul |

Two of us dining for birthday dinner. We shared the following App Burrata w roasted pepper and sourdough bread -$25 Broccolini veg - $13 Salad. Shaves Veg, w pecan - $19 Main. Shaved rib eye sandwich w au jus - $30 Frites, w Truffle, parm, aioli - $20 Now we’re at $107 before wine. Each had two glasses of Tempranillo, one of the cheapest reds offered, at $20 Per glass = $80 TOTAL $187 BEFORE tax and tip You can see, for a reasonable supper, nothing spectacular, we spent over $200, including tax and a 20% tip. The environment is indeed sweet- a rooftop with cozy alcoves, and a sweet view of Edina metro, from the roof. The food was good, the service was good. But two of us shared all of the aforementioned, it was a reasonable supper, not a celebration feast! And so, be prepared to spend a lot of money if you come. I would suggest come for a drink and an app, and then go over to Galleria aforesaid dinner at one of their restaurants.

Fun place to visit

By Debbie A |

We went just to look around and had a fun visit here. 6 floors of nice furniture, art and accessories. Really nice atmosphere in the cafe on the first floor. Coffee, wine and food served in a nice atmophere.

A Fun Surprise

By mauimamma5 |

Enter this beautiful old building and a 4-story gallery of Restoration Hardware furniture and accessories is beautifully displayed. We ate in the atrium and later walked the entire building, including the rooftop. Great way to shop and an unexpectedly great tapas lunch. Make reservations.

Loved this incredible venue!

By Nancy D |

I believe the building was built in 1912 and the restaurant is The Three Arts Club. The building alone is worth seeing as it has been beautifully restored keeping beautiful tile work, statuary, fountains, columns etc. The courtyard restaurant is unique using RH furniture for seating under a glass ceiling as well as greenery, After lunch we toured all the floors of furniture - a treat to see the new trends. The only reason I rate this a four instead of a five is the limited menu. We ordered salad and fish and it was good but almost on the small plate size and not inexpensive. I would like to return again to enjoy a drink in their cozy bar as it looked very inviting. If you are interested in restoration I would highly recommend a visit!!

So much talent in the food industry. Restoration Hardware needs to tap into it.

By Michelletravelgirl |

Beautiful atmosphere, Great Service & management. Wonderful wines. The food leaves much to be desired

Amazing food and ambiance

Gorgeous Atmosphere and Tasty Food

By theSFcouple B |

Cool spot and delicious food. The French Dip was tasty and so was the Chicken Club. Be prepared to wait. Luckily you can grab a cup of coffee and roam around the 5 stories of RH and lounge on the comfy couches. We will be visiting again next time we are in Chicago!

Never disappoints

By Tod N |

A wonderful meal with close friends at the restored Three Arts Club. Such and lovely setting. Great service and excellent food. This is a true gem in the city. And shouldn’t be missed. Plus you can go shopping right after your meal!

Not just a restaurant! An aesthetic experience!

By annX2206FC |

We spent a pleasant 2hours here, wandering through the furniture store that is so much more than a furniture store! The rooms are full of interesting furniture and accessories, and the real bonus is that you can buy pastries and yummy coffees and plop down on that furniture, as if you are in your own home. Some people brought laptops and worked, while others were busy meeting with designers. There is no pressure to purchase anything. It’s a pleasant way to spend some time. Next time, we’ll actually make a reservation and try out the restaurant!

A must see in Chicago

By Travelingman074 |

If you love architecture, style, history and simply wandering around a marvelous old building, then this place is for you. Grab a glass of wine and take your time going through several floors of housewares that recall a different time and aesthetic. But go when you are not rushed. To speed through this place would defeat the purpose of going in the first place.

Lobster roll is a must have.

By Ladydi850 |

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The food was amazing. It is a must do. The lobster roll was amazing. It had thick lobster pieces. We also had the side of mushrooms, broccolini, and aeoli fries. Everything was amazing.

nothing to write home about

By Jill S |

big disappointment. when we made the reservation we told them it was for a birthday. but it was never acknowledged. the food was way over priced. and the restaurant was exceptionally noisy. fool me once.

Top-notch service

By Clerissa Dario |

This café's stunning fairy-tale-like interior makes it perfect for photos. Though drinks are average (matcha isn't very sweet), free lemonade refills are a plus. Set in a safe, quiet area, it's ideal for relaxing – the magical forest vibe is unforgettable!

Outstanding from start to finish!

By SarahTravels86 |

We didn't know what to expect from this restaurant (we love the stores but had never been to a restaurant in one!), but were blown away in every way! We did have to wait a long time to get a table, as they don't take reservations, but they have a great bar where we thoroughly enjoyed bellinis while we waited :) The ambiance in this restaurant is literally straight out of a magazine. As someone who loves splurging on beautiful restaurants there aren't many that take my breath away - this one did in a way I didn't expect. It really feels like sitting in a fairytale! I will also say that I expected the food to be good, but nothing very special. I couldn't have been more wrong. I was with my mom and sisters and we split a ton of things - the cheeseburger was literally the best I've ever had, the burrata and tomato salad was the same (even better than I had in Italy....or maybe tied lol), the lobster roll was outstanding, the hot dog was heaven, the beef dip was next level too! The wine list was extensive and the service was exceptional. I will most definitely be back to enjoy this special place again! And I will look forward to going to other RH Restaurants when I'm in other cities to see how they compare!

Nice view and wine

By Julie F |

Enjoyed a glass of wine while browsing. A very nice roof garden and friendly people. A concept that should be encouraged more places.

Spectacular environment and delicious food and service.

By JulNorth |

The building and decor take you away to another world and you really do not want to leave. The food, drink and service live up to the Gold Coast stereotype of high style presented in good taste with luxurious trimmings. Worth the wait.

Like a high-end IKEA... SUCH a fun afternoon!

By Lindsay S |

At the last minute, our flight from Chicago -> Toronto got cancelled until the AM, so on a whim we decided to head here for the afternoon/early evening. We are so glad that we did! We had an absolute blast going through all the rooms and envisioning our own home decor dreams. S/O to the outdoor top floor...SO COOL! The restaurant concept in the middle of the store was also SO much fun and we absolutely loved the ambiance. Dinner and drinks were definitely expensive but expected for that kind of store. Would for sure come back again, if anything to look at all the beautiful furniture and room concepts. We recently learned that RH is opening up in Toronto...can't wait to try it out here!

Great lunch

By Beth K |

The atmosphere is great. The atrium with the plants Is beautiful. There is always a wait, but it was worth it. The food was good and came out fast. I had the chicken which was extremely tasty. Great flavor. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the waitress. We had to seek her out several times, and ask other waiters for assistance. I would definitely recommend the restaurant, and we will be going back.

Restoration Hardware (the lounge)

By Greg H |

It's a store, no it's a lounge. It's both and not to be missed if in Midtown area. Multiple floors of room designs. Food and beverages available to carry around as you browse. Unique and worth spending time relaxing and exploring this interesting location.

Over The Top, But Awesome

By armanistyle187 |

This place is just flat out ridiculous. It's shopping/dining/loitering at a level that you just don't see much anymore outside of the highest end boutiques around. Complementary drinks, when meeting with a design professional of course. Every room on their five full floors is staged differently, and most of them are just jaw droppingly well done. Every finish is just perfect, without doubt to give the customer an idea of what their space could potentially look like. I spent almost two full hours in here looking at/discussing furnishings, and we barely scratched the surface. If you want the full Restoration Hardware experience, be prepared to spend half a day exploring all they have to offer.

Lovely Space

By lacoe |

If you want to see a beautiful building full of history this is a great place to stop for a drink. The wait time for the restaurant is not really worth it, in my opinion. The menu is limited, and with the exception of the burger, overpriced. Wine is also over-priced....15 dollars for 4 ounces ( maybe 5) of not very special wine. It's fun to roam around the rooms and have your drink sitting in the wonderful furniture while you wait for your table.

Destination Design

By Drew W |

Excellent venue Food is beyond superior! Service is standard nothing special aloof by part passable. The Atrium dining is a great backdrop however very loud and cold / hint sit as far from fountain if your intolerant to stand chemical aroma, still might be difficult tho baring in mind the layout / noticed "reserved" signage on tables despite NO RESERVATIONS taken / perhaps be more hospitable for waits by giving guests options during wait?? Or at least we were not accommodated for in that regard. Great backdrop for design clients otherwise socially I wouldn't recommend.

A nice trend

By The_Italian_Reviewer |

Went there after shopping at RH and had some really good food in a great, busy, atmosphere. Perfect place for a drink. There were many groups having fun, drinking, and eating. This place is pretty elegant so do not show up with jordans and dropping pants...

An experience, and a good lunch too

By David L |

Restoration Hardware appears to be a restaurant, disguised as a stunning, five-storey furniture store. The exceptional "quad" or courtyard setting, complete with glassed-in roof and trees, is a lovely sunny space to dive into a limited but excellent lunch menu. After waiting a while for a table (we quaffed Prosecco to help pass the time) we landed at our table and ordered a range of dishes: the shaved rib eye sandwich as an A+, the chicken a solid B, and with it an excellent bottle of rose. Service, from the "seating podium" (Juliana) to the table (Karina B) was outstanding. Although not inexpensive - I think the drinks and lunch set me back $280 for 5 people by the time we were done - it was a very good meal and a lovely experience. Think of it as a furniture theme park with really good food.

Great atmosphere, good food

By Stacy Strickland |

Who would've thought one could find in a Restoration Hardware and have a lovely meal in a beautiful atrium? The wine list is great, and the menu, while not extensive, has some good items on it. Vegetarian options are available... vegans would have a tough time eating here. We started with the burrata and the artichokes- both delicious. My salmon was cooked nicely, yet could've used a bit more seasoning. The truffle fries were a great size and again, cooked nicely... and not as flavored as I would have expected.

Food and Furniture is Fun

By Annette G |

Went for Sunday brunch on a lovely day in May. Recommended by a local. I am familiar with Restoration Hardware stores but not the restaurant concept - it may be unique to downtown Chicago. The building is historical architecture with five floors of furniture, street level restaurant, and rooftop lounge. The interior courtyard has been enclosed with a transparent dome for lovely garden restaurant seating. The menu has a nice range of options and the food is good. Plan ahead - No reservations with 11am opening. We arrived at 10:45 & the line had already turned the corner. Our party of two was seated within minutes but larger parties had long waits unless they were closer to the front of the line.

Phoney white, grey, brown, and beige

RH has gone downhill with its large, uninteresting resort-style furniture. Monochrome blandness at remarkably high prices.

Lushest Restaurant in Chicago

By Penny Byte |

OMG- If you want to dine in style year around amongst fledgling cypress trees, in soft luxurious couches and chairs sipping Grade A+ Champagne (Ruinart) go here. While back in Chicago for another Birthday, we celebrated here despite NOT being able to make reservations. While awaiting my beautiful sapphic companions, I overheard the casual conversation behind me and was quite entertained as it appeared everyone was very comfortable with their surroundings and each other so they had very frank discussions concerning their love lives. REserved Table was a nice touch for our Party in the Main room- Side room also rich in luxury as well but the Main Hall is truly Spectacular. Anyhow, we ordered every board- Artisinal Cheese, Charcuterie and Salmon which I highly suggest as it had amazing toasted bread and amazing flavors. The burger and lobster roll were scrumptious as well as the french fries- on par with my other recent reviews. THe Wine List was made with great intelligence and knowledge so if you appreciate a great wine, bubbly or cocktail, this is a fantastic location. You can also wander about with a glass of liquid refreshment throughout this Arena of Decadence. On a prior visit, my companion du jour found an envelope filled with hundreds in a sofa that was from a young couple looking to furnish their new apartment. You never know what rich experience you may have here so it is definitely worth the visit. My erstwhile companions while still displaying their feline coquettish nature by providing our server funny and engaging commentary. The birthday dessert was discretely revealed a single candle on a chocolate chip cookie with kosher salt sprinkled atop it- so rich and tasty- a luxurious and decadent finale to an amazing restaurant. Go this fantastically luxurious surroundings with great staff and really tasty food before the crowds find out this place as it is quite an Oasis of Luxury!

Unexpected Elegance

By AdmiralGanteaume |

Had lunch here for the first time and was incredibly pleased with both the food and the service. Excellent, unobtrusive service. The water waiter was even attentive. Arugula salads with chicken were exquisitely prepared, and the smoked salmon board was accoutred with a brilliant variety of herb and vegetable condiments. Don't miss the perfectly underdone chocolate chip cookies for dessert, served to us around a tiny candle in celebration of a birthday at our table. I guess the only negative mark one could think of, if it were a necessity, is that the birthday candle was melted to the plate at an angle quite markedly off 90 degrees.

Lovely setting delicious food.

By seterry3188 |

We had a very enjoyable lunch. Service was great and so was the food. I would suggest sitting in one of the side areas, it was much quieter thane the atrium.

Great showcase for their furniture - shame you can't actually take anything away

By jazzyart |

I am a big fan of RH and was in their North Ave store all the time picking up a few things, I bought a book, towels, bathroom items, accessories for drapes and at christmas stocking fillers and lights. So when the new RH opened on our street I was very excited. Don't get me wrong they have done an amazing job of this place. The building is beautiful and laid out in such a way that you just wonder from room to room. The only downside is you have to order everything. I like to pick things up and imagine them in the house, then take them away with me. Yes furniture I get it you have to order that, but the smaller items, it seems weird you have to wait for a package to arrive. Hence since RH moved nearer me, I haven't bought a thing!! Ummm maybe this policy can be re-visited??

What a cool place

By andreasbinz73 |

This is a first for me! Buy a nice glass of wine and stroll around this beautiful place. Sit down on any sofa, or upstairs on the roof. Surround yourself with the stunning environment and dream away. I have never seen a place like this before.

Fun place to visit, great restaurant.

By Naples Nomad |

Came here to eat lunch, nice wine service or coffee while you wait and peruse the items over five floors. Beautifully laid out floor by floor with plenty of ideas to look at. Lunch was amazing, if you eat here go with the grilled cheese, phenomenal. I could spend an entire day here just hanging out.

Really different / Unique but good

By Joe B |

We went for drinks after dinner. I was surprised as the venue is really cool / great piece of real estate. We sat in the middle area and had drinks and it was really comfortable. Some of the people we were with wandered and looked at furniture and other stuff and we were able to hang out and have a beer. Win / win is what I call it

Best restaurant in a Hardware store ever!

By Pam M |

Of course RH is not really a "hardware store". This iteration is in an amazing heritage building in the gold Coast Area of Chicago. There are 4 floors of wonderful and pricey home furnishings as well as a lovely outdoor garden showcasing their outdoor furniture. The restaurant is in a beautiful enclosed garden area as well as a wine bar along the back. I was there for breakfast and my fresh yogurt with fruit and granola was terrific.

Love this place! Beautiful restoration of old arts center. Friendly and welcoming staff and service. Wonderful ambience. Will definitely be back!

If only I could bring Fido

By Jeff F |

It'd be 5 star w/o doubt even they let me bring Fido! Great place for a late lunch or early dinner. I'm always surprised at how good the food is and so is everybody I bring here. Plus I get great decorating ideas.

Lovely setting

By Grandmom1949 |

A cafe in an atrium surrounded by a furniture store!! Chandeliers over the tables. Fountain in the middle. You can get wine from the bar and wander through the store while you wait to be seated. The food is very fresh and beautifully presented. The pacing is good and there was no rush to yield the table Cons: couch style seating not comfortable for all. Most tables are larger than average which may make conversation somewhat difficult ( there are wonderful tables for two) Menu limited and slightly pricey. Look online at menu

The ladies do Christmas lunch

By KimberlyLane |

Instead of doing the same old Walnut Room Christmas lunch, the ladies in the family decided to do something a little different...have our annual Christmas lunch at a different Chicago spot each year. Restoration Hardware and the cafe inside was our first choice...and it was a great one. We knew all about this hot spot and it's combo retail/restaurant concept since our youngest family member had already been there and gave it rave reviews. Reservations are not allowed so we got there early...11am and they seated us immediately. If there's such a thing as being disappointed at immediate seating, it would be here. While waiting for your table, you can shop. Or relax on the huge couches under the fabulous chandeliers, just outside the cafe. There's even a small coffee bar that you can order drinks from and then take them as you wander through the store. It's floors of beautiful furniture, in beautifully decorated rooms, that you can actually relax on and chat or drink. The top floor is a rooftop garden, complete with beautiful outdoor seating and beautiful city views. It's like going to a rooftop bar without the crowds and noise. Just bring your drinks up from the coffee bar on the first floor. This isn't a traditional furniture store with salespeople waiting to pounce on you every time you turn around. Some folks are might be turned off by the lack of salespeople, but you will get full attention, by making an appointment ahead of time. There are folks to help you without an appointment, but just not easily found. After our lunch, we wandered through the store and plenty of people offered to help us. We weren't intending on buying anything, but one of us found the perfect faux fur throw for her couch, at a surprisingly affordable price, so she ordered it. It showed up a couple of days later and she loves it. Back to the restaurant experience...the setting is non traditional, with seating set ups using different tables, chairs, and couches. If you have trouble getting out of a low couch, make sure you let them know before you are seated. We were in an atrium setting with great decor. The service was tremendous. No rush here. our server was very knowledgeable about the menus and guided us nicely to make great choices. We ate small plate style, sharing a burger (same owners as the famous burger place Au Cheval), grilled cheese, roasted veggies and grains, and a small charcuterie board. Nothing disappointed, but we will order something other than the charcuterie next time since there were so many great choices. Great experience. We'll be back.

Who Would Have Guessed?

By Suddrethks |

This is one of the fanciest and nicest RH stores in the country with more than four floors of treasures ....the best of which is the 5* 3 Arts Cafe imbedded in a center courtyard of incredible beauty and comfort. While waiting for your table, you can explore all the treasures until your cell is paged. This is an extraordinary neighborhood gem worth a visit.

Over-the-top setting, so fun

By SB |

When your feet ache from shopping and you want to feel a little decadent, sink into a comfy chair near the inner courtyard of this ornate and overly-chandeliered (but in a good way) restaurant in a store that isn't recognizable as such from the outside! You will feel like you have given yourself a special treat. Would love to see more wine-by-the-glass options, but choices are solid. We each had a salad and they were excellent (the shaved vegetable salad with vinaigrette and pecans was outstanding). A bit pricey, but it's worth it.

Unusual Setting and Decor

By Ken R |

Some of the food was a little strange, but the quality was OK. The prices were high for what was being offered. It is something people should do at least once and then decide if they are going to come back.

Restaurant Smelled Like Chlorine

By NorthStar258890 |

The restaurant was pretty. However, the strong smell of chlorine (likely from the fountain) permeating throughout the dining room caused me to not enjoy the experience. I ordered the salmon and it was average, nothing special. Our party of 4 was seated at a coffee table, and I didn’t appreciate having to hunch over while eating. Our bill was nearly $400 for a party of 4. I won’t return.

Furniture and Food

By TravvelBug |

Located inside of their sprawling facility RH is the restaurant inside of the furniture store. Upon entrance you are greeted with several comfortable sofas to lounge while you wait or you can go to the roof top deck and chat. The coffee bar serves a great peach Bellini and the cookies are great. I ordered their cheeseburger which was amazing and my sister and I shared the smoked salmon plate which came with Texas toasts. She ordered the chicken and salad which she enjoyed. The only down part is be prepared to wait - our wait was over an hour however we did have the opportunity to look around and enjoy the faculty. Go for the food and stay to shop the furniture

Amazing

An incredible building five floors of aesthetics. Beautiful architecture beautiful design, from top to bottom. Nice bar and nice restaurant with a terrace. Beautifully done.

So beautiful, so inspiring.

You'll want to buy everything! And for a pretty penny. Great place to go to get inspiration. I think the way to do it is to put your name in for a meal at 3 Arts Cafe and browse RH while waiting for your table.

Great Burger and Atmosphere

By ArkansasCheezburger |

This is a very unique restaurant with great food and atmosphere. While waiting you can look around the different floors of furniture and then you will eat in a open room with wonderful atmosphere. The food and service was excellent and I had the RH Burger which was great and didn't have to add any condiments and just enjoyed the burger itself. Would highly recommend.

Tasty, but be prepared to wait for brunch/lunch

By BartCMH |

Three Arts Club Cafe is the centerpiece of this RH. Operated by the Hogsalt group, which has several other tasty concepts in the city, it's a great experience. Getting in for a Friday lunch is quite the wait, but the bacon alone makes the wait worth it... Have it on the Club with avocado and you're in heaven. The good news is that you can easily grab a glass of bubbly and a croissant from the Pantry while you wait for a table!

Beautiful place and great food!

One of the most elegant and beautiful places I have been to! All of the decor and light fixtures are beautiful. The food was phenomenal! The most DELICIOUS chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! The gallery itself was beautiful, lots of nice pieces. There was also a rooftop garden that was stunning, worth checking out!

Evening in Chicago

By Nuha K 56 |

We went for dinner at 7pm by reservation,we were not seated until 7:35pm. The hostess was not so helpful because she gave us the couch seating for three where others sat 9 together on the couche. Plus I specifically requested a table and not a couch. it is uncomfortable to eat and you are bending down to the coffee table!!! Our server Mageal was so courteous and officiant. He brought everything on time and in great manners. He chatted with us on our order and brought us a goodie for dessert. I go a lot to this restaurant and from all the servers there, Mageal is the best. Thank you! Food was good and tasty and we were very satisfy.

Gorgeous

We had lunch in the glass-roofed courtyard, 3 Arts Club Cafe. The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous and makes the pricey food and drink worth it. I had the unique shaved vegetable salad and it was delicious. Excellent service.

Three Arts Club Cafe in the RH store: Good choice for a visual and gustatory exprience

By panz22 |

My friend and I went for lunch at about noon or so. Even though the restaurant hustles and bustles on Fridays, a visit on a Monday is more doable. The building is lovely with specific touches which enhance the old bricks and the artistic touches have been restored to its glorious original state. If you are an architectural buff, you will enjoy looking out of the windows. Look at the fine work that was done to restore the building. Do a little reading about this place before you visit. You will be glad you did. The restaurant is on the first floor. The building houses the RH store which give the visitors the opportunity to peruse the beautiful merchandise and to choose and select that particular piece of fine quality furniture, drapes or other important accoutrement that will complete a room. But I digress. We were there to have lunch and also to visit the different rooms which were staged for different uses. You can get lots of ideas as to how to stage your own particular room of choice. The restaurant is spacious and sits in the center part of the first floor which was at one time, a courtyard. Lovely setting with beautiful chandeliers which shine and sparkle as the sun descends on the prisms. We were lucky that we visited on a sunny day. The menu is not extensive. The service is up to par and the food we had was delicious. I enjoy eating a good hamburger and the one I was served was cooked to my specification and it was served with fries and the condiments on the side as per my request. My friend had a grilled cheese which she proclaimed "terrific" and truly enjoyed lt. The service was not rushed and the prices were a little high but you are paying for the ambience as well as the food which is served after being prepared with care. There is valet parking and you tip accordingly due to the location. I believe that this service is worth a nice tip since you arrive and your car is taken and parked. No need to look for parking because you get this service with a smile. I truly enjoyed the visit. Also, if you are visiting Chicago and are staying at a hotel downtown, you can take a leisurely walk to the restaurant and build up an appetite. Hopefully it won't be on a windy, freezing day. If so, I recommend a cab.

Upscale Furniture Store

The store is in the repurposed 3 Art Club building. They have done a fabulous job with the restoration. Each floor has a different theme (bedroom, living rooms, etc.) with well laid out furniture settings. The roof top has great views of Chicago. One the main floor is the 3 Arts Club Cafe - which is quite popular in the area. Valet parking is also available.

Fabulous!!!

You would never think this is a store/restaurant tucked away in a residential neighborhood. What a beautiful place!!! Food was excellent!!! Will definitely return!

Nice restaurant in a very nice place !

By Laurence2011 |

We had lunch in this restaurant and we really enjoyed it. Food was very good and waitresses very friendly & polite. The location is unusual, but this lunch in a indoor garden will remain a very good memory for me. A friend of us living in Chicago took us there (they obviously know the best places) and I would happily recommend this restaurant too !

Favorite find of the trip!

By TeresaB25 |

Visiting this refurbished historic treasure was the suggestion of a friend who lives in the neighborhood. Wow! We were blown away by the brunch they serve on the first floor, and the rooftop bar is relaxing and beautiful, filled with water features, comfy furniture, and soft cushions and pillows. Loved it so much, we went twice!

Prepare to be awed!

This was my 2nd visit to this amazing store. Immaculately clean without a spec of dust. Each showroom is inspiring to walk through. The atrium restaurant is mesmerizing. A must see for your trip to Chicago.

Beautiful space with delicious food!

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast of truffled eggs and the best bacon ever! A must do in Chicago. In a restored girls dormitory with spectacular details that cant be duplicated.

Beautiful but uncomfortable

By SCTaz |

The staff and food here were great. However, we would have enjoyed our experience much more if the tables and chairs were more comfortable. We sat in the wine cellar area at the gold tables. The tables and chairs are gorgeous, however, they do not work well for eating as the chairs are so low to the ground and the table is - too high I suppose. It was awkward. The restaurant has lots of other seating options. Only a few of them actually looked good for comfortable eating.

Very glamorous place

By cheeky34 |

This place spells glamour. It was lovely to look but the items are very expensive and not what most people would be able to afford. We enjoyed wandering through all the rooms and dreaming.
