I stay at the Hilton for work. I’ve eaten at this restaurant 4 times as they deliver to the rooms which is an awesome perk. The food is good - red snapper was great! But the first time I ordered the steak was not cooked rare as I requested. The second time I ordered was the corn salad - it was missing the cheese and tomatoes. Salmon was cooked perfectly however. The last order I received was the steak salad and it was missing the avocado. But the steak was amazing. This place would be perfect if they just could get their orders correct and follow the ingredients on the menu!

Birthday Brunch Omelettes

By Kenyatta H |

The restaurant was really nice and the staff was amazing! LaJuana really stood out with the delicious omelettes and superb service! Our waiter was also wonderful! Thanks so much Rio Ranch and LaJuana for a memorable morning!

Steaks to die for!

By Colin G |

High quality fare. Priced accordingly. Have eaten here a number of times. Would recommend any of the 'house specials'. Never been disappointed.

No atmosphere

By bigrpc13 |

We've eaten here before and always had a great meal but this review is based on our last visit. Only one other table was occupied and the normal 'buzz' of a successful restaurant was missing. However John our waiter was a delight. Very friendly and informative. Food as always is freshly cooked. Will we return? Of course we will

Rio Ranch - Great Breakfast Buffet

By Sue S |

We headed to Rio Ranch for their breakfast buffet - at 10:30am it was crowded, but we were seated immediately and by the huge fireplace. Wonderful spot. A great variety on the buffet - couldn't decide on eggs benedict or made to order omelets - we elected the omelets - bacon, spinach, mushrooms, cheese, onions and peppers - - they also offered a fruit bar, cereal bar, scrambled eggs, bacon / sausage, biscuits, toast, muffins, danish, smoked salmon and a lot more. We took our time and enjoyed the food - service was great - - Hard to find a good buffet for under $17. Well worth the trip!

Not doing this again

By blkbart |

So I had a business meal here. Things started out promising, got our drink orders in and appetizer pretty quickly but it went downhill from there. We rarely saw our waitress and it took well over 90 minutes to get our meals. About 30 minutes before we got the we had no drinks left and finally got new drinks after we finished the meal they did comp them). We all ordered baked potatoes and mine was still hard and not fully cooked. The green beans we also like warm trending to cold as well. We never had anyone check to see if you food was adequate and after the comped drinks had to flag down the helper who spoke little English tj get our bill paid. In all we spent about 2 hours for poor service and a mediocre meal.

Good hotel food with great steaks

By TravelerDavidfromGA |

I went to Rio Ranch several times during June and July 2016 when I stayed at the Hilton Westchase. The restaurant was never busy when I was there but the food was consistently good. I had salads, steak and chicken meals. Each offering was good and the steaks always tasted like my dad's when he cooked over oak. If you are in the area, stop in for a good meal.

Not bad restaurant

By ricky v |

We went there at Thanksgiving evening, when all other places were closed. The restaurant has a nice ranch style, very welcoming, staff was polite and educated. Table for 8 was readily prepared and our waitress very prompt in taking the orders. The food was not bad, we expected the usual "steaksubmergedwithsauces" but with surprise we got a nice stake with sauce on the side, so we could actually chose how much taste. The kids portions was large and generous. My chicken had too much pepper and that kept me from sleeping that night. Price was reasonable for the level of this restaurant ( hotel). Definitely I would go back there if needed.

Just okay

Your better off eating elsewhere. Outback across the street might have been better than this steak place!!

Lovely Texan style restaurant with exceptional service and food

By MMTexasGal |

We recently had dinner at Rio Ranch in Houston TX. Wow! First of all, the service was exceptional from the greeter to the waiter(s). The food was delicious too. We had the sirloin, fried chicken, and an off menu peppered steak with a special secret sauce. All were delicious, and each of us were happy with our meals. The secret steak was the best of all - really one of the best steaks I've had. We had bread pudding and cheesecake for dessert. Both excellent. Margarita w/ Grand Marnier was the best I've ever had. We liked the restaurant and service so much that we have planned a family event there next year.

Excellent & Service

By 253alices |

The Hostess, Tatum Gonzales was first class and very accommodating. The service was wonderful from the waitresses to the cooks and chefs. We were impressed with both Brandy and Theresa who waited our table on different occasions.

Over Priced

By Jerry S |

The food was just average, the pricing is very high. The wait staff was very friendly. It is convenient being in the hotel.

nice decoration but average food

By patjatje |

When we stepped in this restaurant which is easy when you stay in the hilton than you are nicely surprised. the place is nice decorated, big tables plenty of space. We noticed that the restaurant was not really busy just a few people which should be a sign . the food is just average and definitely not in relation to the high price . There are better option in the neighborhood. pictures are from the restaurant didn’t take food pictures.

Very delicious

By Elizabeth R |

Had the halibut with fried crawfish tails and sautéed mushrooms. The accompanying sauce had a nice kick! Very delicious and the service was great

Convenient Westchase location for lunch or dinner.

By PrudenvilleDavid |

This restaurant is attached to the Westchase Hilton where I stayed during a business conference. I sat in the bar area for dinner, which has a quiet western oil town atmosphere with a good draft beer selection. The grilled trout was excellent, not overcooked with a flavorful savory sauce. There are lots of meat selections like steak and ribs as well as salad and pasta items to choose.

Great for breakfast and room service

By J F |

I've had the breakfast buffet and a made-to-order omelet many times while traveling for work. Great choices and always more than enough to satisfy a light or heavy breakfast palate. The gentleman constructing the omelets was always happy to assist, which is nice first thing in the morning. Now, the real secret - The Rio Ranch is the room service at the adjoining Hilton. My recommendation is the Rio Ranch cheeseburger when you don't feel like leaving the hotel. It is made to spec, served with amazing shoe string French fries, miniature bottles of ketchup & mustard, packets of mayo, and a little chocolate candy. The burger is huge and delicious. Perfect for a late night (or anytime) meal. All for $20 including service charge and gratuity. Totally worth it.

A good mix of Texas and southwest cuisine

By OilRover |

I ate here recently with a large group of work colleagues. My company frequently uses this place for business venues because it is very close to the neighboring Marriott and Hilton hotels, and because they always set aside a separate room for us. I had such a good time here that I will try to return again another time. The ambiance in this restaurant is good, and the food is well prepared and tasty. I had a filet steak that was done perfectly, with skewers of vegetables to accompany it. I recommend that you eat here, especially if you are staying in a nearby hotel.

Business dinner

By HaraldAlbretsen |

The restaurant is ok, however the steak I ordered should be medium, it was well done. The service was good.

Good Food/Bad service

By lindarn51 |

Ate there due to the fact we were staying at the hotel, and we didn't have much time during our business meetings...food was good, but the service was really bad. Ignored by the servers, no coffee refills offered. Had to stand up and act like we were leaving in order to get the check.

Texan outstanding

By yuris63 |

I stayed at Hilton and used this colorful Texan style restaurant many times -mostly breackfast and dinner. Food was great and service was outstanding. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful as well. Decorations are interesting, fireplace is huge. It is like being back in good days of early Texas country... Mesquite wood grill smells nice also:)

Breakfast with chef LaJuana

By Amays85 |

Breakfast with chef LaJuana was fantastic. Wonderful omelette. Makes her own special seasoning and it’s fantastic!

I am not the waitresses sweetheart!

By kpr123 |

I liked the food and atmosphere. The waitress called me sweetheart all night. Told me I would not know the difference between two wines when they did not sell the one I wanted by the glass. Other than that I liked the restaurant and the food.

Average and over-priced

By 907trick |

Attached to a local Hilton hotel, and charging Hilton prices for very average food. I visited with colleagues on business, and we were shocked to see flame-grilled lamb chops offered at $42! Burgers were more reasonable ($18), but not exceptional in quality. Service polite and friendly, but nothing to remember or go back for. Next time I'll go to the Outback Steakhouse just down the road ... cheaper and better.

Relaxed breakfast

By geotrekker2016 |

A mix of traditional breakfast buffet fare, Texas ranch grub and Mexican cuisine. Good coffee. Relaxed pace. Good, attentive staff.

Always good

By autrice |

We love Rio Ranch. The food is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced ( upper mid range). Excellent wine selection and good noise level--you can hear your dinner companions. They also have a GREAT breakfast, if you are not watching calories

Didn't realize this was hotel restaurant

By VAfrog |

This restaurant is actually attached to the Hyatt Hotel - but you don't exactly realize it from the outside. So food was okay - but very "hotel restaurant" quality. Nothing to write home about. We were trying to get away from our Marriott hotel food and stopped here . . . and were surprised after we ordered to realize it was the hotel's restaurant. Would not have eaten here had we known that.

Good steaks in this part of Houston

By DougGleaner |

Steaks and other Texas favorites can be found here. Liked the Frito chili pie appetizer. Many people like the chicken-fried steak. It is pretty good but I think the normal steaks are what people come for. My fellow diners enjoyed theirs.

Could use a little help

By Capt_H00k |

Overall, nice ambiance in the bar, and a little pricey. Wasn't too loud and has a outdoor patio. Staff was a little relaxed for a not so busy night. Steak came out over cooked first time and then well under cooked the second time. While its convenient to those staying in the attached hotel, it could use a little help with the attention to food prep.

Peppercorn Filet

i just need to tell the server thats my favorite and they make it for me, Ariana is an excellent server

LaJuana is great!

By Michelle L |

Breakfast is wonderful with LaJuana taking great care of us. Love your homemade salsa! She took great care of us.

Good Food Good Prices

By TAMAN1951 |

Great Tasting food especially for a hotel affiliated facility. Sunday Breakfast Buffet is awesome. Used to have a 1/2 grilled chicken that was super and I wish that it would come back. For now the bucket of wings is unusual and very tasty.

Good food, overpriced for (this place) Mother's Day Brunch

By bjoyful2 |

I love going to Mother's Day brunch! We went today for the first time after a friend had raved about their Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is not that great and the management was chaotic at best. The food was very good, but our server was less than stellar. If they had kept their usual Sunday brunch price I wouldn't complain but to more than double it for Mother's Day, there are much better Mother's Day Brunch options around the city for that price.

Hotel resturant

We had a convention at this hotel they had a really Great breakfast, and room service. The service was good.

Not Impressed

By Alan M |

Not been here before, so maybe I need to visit again to be sure to give a more balanced impression. However I came here after finding a few of my preferred options closed on the Sunday lunch time. This is a large restaurant, plenty of car parking space. It appeared to be fairly busy given the number of cars outside. Inside, it was a typical Texan facade, with TexMex staff, and on this day, with the graduation parties in full swing, and numerous groups already taking up most of the main restaurant, I opted for the quieter bar area. Obviously a beer was ordered, did that without checking the price, and was horrified at the price for a 23oz beer, which was $9.00, which is crazy, should not have bee more than $6.00. I then ordered up a fried chicken breast with mashed potato. It came within ten minutes, so was quite quick. However whilst the chicken was tender, thus not frozen, the breaded coating was greasy, and tasted like it was fried at a lower temperature, hence the taste. The potato was fine, with some butter and milk, to perk the taste buds. All in all, I ate the meal without really enjoying it. Staff were pleasant, efficient and visible without being bothersome. In fairness, I would need to come again maybe for a steak, and see how that compares. I don't relish coming back to pay so much for a beer though, so I would likely stick to iced tea. As I left, I queried the draft beer price, only to be told that as the Hilton Hotels owned the restaurant, that explained a lot. It is unnecessary to charge so much.

Don't know how to cook a steak

By jefff727 |

Went to celebrate with the family on a Saturday night. Place was near empty, which I kind of thought would be, but one of the reasons I chose it. Most of the family ordered steaks, medium rare, and nobody received a steak with any bit of pink left in it. Salad seemed to have been the scraps from a bad buffet. No charm to the place at all. Don't waste your money here.

Excellent breakfast buffet

By TAMAN1951 |

Perfect omelette. Better than we had in France. Biscuits were fluffy and tasty. Bacon cooked perfectly. Wow what a great time. Service was very good.

Best breakfast buffet in the area

By TAMAN1951 |

Omlettes to order ate over the top and cooked to perfection Pork sausage is the best I have ever had Selection is awesome and staff very accomodating We will be back.

Great Food & Atmoshere

By Keith B |

Great steaks and very good seafood. Atmoshere is Texas ranch style. Therefore, you are comfortable in jeans or a coat and tie. Chicken Fried Steak is made with a pounded rib eye and done very well. Onion rings are some of the best I've ever had (I love onion rings). Steaks are very good quality and prepared properly but a notch below Vic & Anthony's, Ruth's Chris, etc. But, a similar price includes a salad and potato. Much better than you typically get at a hotel restaurant.

Decent food but you can get better for the price.

By BrandonS428 |

The food wasn't horrible but I've had much better at places half the price. Steaks come with a chili butter on the side that was pretty good but other than that, I would say you're better off going to an Outback or other restaurant of similar range.

Thoroughly Decent Dining!

By Brian F |

Interesting looking Texas style steakhouse with all of the ranch tweaks--both to the menu and the atmosphere. Low lighting which I always prefer so high marks from me on that! Being solo I chose to eat in the bar. It's a nice space with very high ceilings so the conversations of others nearby was not an issue. The crowd on a Tuesday was, not surprisingly, composed of business types escaping the nearby hotels for a while. They have two TVs in the bar and had sports in both. The service was both fast and friendly, both much appreciated. The menu is unimaginative but solid. If you are a meat and potatoes person, you've come to the right place. I had fire grilled mesquite chicken with a salad and a baked potato. All were delicious and reasonably priced given the quality of the food especially. My chicken was seasoned nicely but not overdone; tender and juicy, not at all dry. The baked potato was loaded, baked to perfection, and delicious. Yes, I love potatoes lol. My only ding against the place was my salad. Just a dinner salad and it was presented nicely enough but the ranch dressing was bland at best, iceberg lettuce and not much else, and croutons that clearly came out of a canister or large bag. I would strongly suggest making this dressing in house or improving on it in some way. Flavorless goop. Likewise, I expect house made croutons in a restaurant of this caliber as well as mixed greens at a minimum and perhaps some carrots or radishes to dress it up a bit. Admittedly, that's a lot to say about a dinner salad but I really enjoyed the place and would love to see it thrive! Overall a terrific experience. Would definitely eat here again and would not hesitate to have a casual business lunch or dinner here. Thanks Rio Ranch for a great meal and very pleasant evening out!

Peppercorn Tenderloin at the Bar

By WaltersTwoCents |

In town for business meeting staying at the Hilton next door. Rugged, Texas ranch interior. Very clean, well decorated and nice atmosphere. I was by myself so I ate at the bar. I saw advertisements at the Hilton and the food looked great so I decided to give it a try. It wasn't as busy as I would have expected for 7pm on Wednesday night. When the bartender handed me the menu I was surprised there were not more choices. All of the food choices looked good but I expected more steak options being in Texas. The bartender recommended a peppercorn tenderloin that wasn't on the menu. This was a great choice for me, nice sized piece of meat, tender and full of flavor, covered in mushroom, wine sauces that was out of this world and the mash potatoes were excellent. Overall I had a good experience and would recommend to anyone to give it try.

Great food and great service

By Flipflop |

I stayed at the Hilton Westchase attached to the Rio Ranch restaurant while in Houston for business. The food was fabulous. I had the Mahi Mahi with chunk crab and roasted vegitables. It was so good that I came back the next night for the same dish. Wine list was great too.

Good Place if in the Area

By Daniel R |

I was there for a business dinner with a big group and had different entrees and a buttermilk fried chicken as the main dish, everything was very good. The place was very quiet for a Sunday, but overall, I would recommend it if you are in the area.

Breakfast Brunch Great

By sandybrown1 |

I had the breakfast brunch and the omelet to order was fantastic. The cook was very nice and made you feel at home! Thank you!

Great food

By Kenn E |

truly enjoyed the steak. Great selection of wines as well! There is also a god selection of fish / sea food

Great steakhouse: a bit pricey

By JenniferF374 |

Stayed at the adjoining hotel on a business trip and went to Rio Ranch the first evening and didn't go back. It has a very nice atmosphere and the food was great quality, but it was very pricey, particularly when you can easily spend $40 and not have any alcohol.

Great Place

By jnolan2366 |

Visited on a business trip. Food was great, Amy the bartender was amazing. She was very attractive and knowledgeable. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

OHHITDAMN

By ohhotdamn2015 |

I had the Pepper Filet at Rio Ranch today for lunch, and it was the BEST tasting Filet EVER!!! When I don’t have to put A-1 Steak Sauce on a Filet, which is rare (no pun intended), that speak volumes!!! The steak was prepared to taste and it didn’t disappoint. Thank you Charlie for such great service.

Nice lunch

By TAMAN1951 |

Great place to hook up with friends for a nice lunch. Onion rings were very good with great batter. Salads are large, tasty and filling. The wings have and unusual smoky flavor that makes them the best. Burger is great quality and very juicy. Fast friendly service. Prices are a little high but not out of bounds.

Needs anew omelette guy

By TAMAN1951 |

A little saddened by service fall off from the past. Omelette guy messed up all three omelette orders and even one do over. The excellent sausage of the past has been replaced by breakfast links. Bacon tasted like lard rather than smokehouse. Biscuits were stale around the edges. Denny's has better service and quality. Not likely to return.

Great breakfast/Brunch

By ShouldbeaBrit |

I cannot attest to the steakhouse aspect of this restaurant, but their breakfast and brunch buffets are really outstanding. A little pricey, but it is in fact part of the Hilton Westchase Hotel so you can always expect an upcharge. But the staff is wonderful and so is the food.

Not so good

By Maxence l’essence |

The food is lassic and correct but not excellent. The prices are high. The service is.. too much! you'll be asked 10 times if you want another drink, and you'll be thanked at least 10 times for coming, eating, ordering, paying, etc..

One of the best steakhouses in Texas.

By Jamey D |

Wow, does this place have good food. They have THE best onion rings in Houston. They also have great biscuits, good cornbread rolls, juicy and succulent steakss, and in my opinion the BEST fried chicken breast this side of the state. They also have a great brunch buffet on weekends as well. Lastly, it is next to a Hilton and the decor is awesome. One of the best places to eat in Houston. Be sure to check it out, cowboy.

Just the Wings

By Stephen S |

For a cold one and some bar food munchies....the wings with blue cheese dressing are some of the best in the city.

Good food, reasonable prices.

By KadySanClemente_CA |

Good assortment of entrée types including salads and sandwiches if desired. Everything we had was very good and we stayed there 5 nights.

Great Place to Eat

By Gene F |

Rio Ranch is adjacent to the hotel (Hilton) and is a very nice place to eat. The selections are wide and the food is very good. It also has a large selection of items other than just steak.

Very Good Breakfast & Pretty Good Burgers Too

By NMC_12 |

Yes, $14 for a 3 egg omelette, a ton of bacon and home fries is a bit pricey but for $17 you can have one of the best upscale breakfast buffets in Houston. Sometimes it is SIMPLY relaxing to ENJOY breakfast away from home and in an establishment where you're not rushed through your meal because 20 more patrons are waiting. If you're up for a classy burger cooked exactly to order, Rio Ranch does a great job with those as well.

Delicious food, fine service, & amazing private party venue too!

By MMTexasGal |

We recently held our son & daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner at Rio Ranch. WOW! From start to finish it was first class. Leslie was our coordinator, and she went far and beyond the call of duty to ensure that our evening was spectacular. The chef also really worked with us on our menu, and we were able to come up with a delicious dinner with 3 choices of entrees. Tatum was super in helping us choose just the right wine and beer. Everyone we worked with was helpful in suggesting ways to stay within our budget while still having a lovely dinner. We rented out the entire restaurant, and fed 105 guests. Our guests preordered either steak, tilapia or chicken. The peppered steak is really the best I've ever had, and several of our guests agreed. The staff helped us set up all of our decorations, and even helped us load them back into the car after the party. The service was superior in every way: friendly, professional, attentive. I still cannot believe that the kitchen was able to get everyone's food out at about the same time. Leslie was really great in helping me plan the table seating and hors d' oeuvres. Each time I met with her, she treated me with something to eat and drink. Such class. On our first planning visit, she even treated the bride and groom and my husband and me to dinner! We felt as though she was family from the start, and such was the way we were treated by everyone at Rio. We also loved the Texas decor, both rustic and classy. Thank you Rio Ranch for making our rehearsal dinner such a lovely evening! Excellent in every way.

Great Place for Business Lunch

By WesleyMCPA |

We use this restaurant as a business lunch for several reasons. The steak is always above average, the service is always above average and they can usually seat you fairly quickly. There is always a steak special, they have a great burger and the grilled chicken is always very good. The favorite part of this restaurant is the salad you get with the meal. It has a blue cheese vinegarette dressing. I've never had this anywhere else and it is excellent. I could eat just salad with the dressing. Everyone will leave satisfied with the meal and the service.

Average dining

By craazydave |

I only visited this place once. I thought it was over rated and a little pricey....the food was average...but the service was great.

Great food and service

By Wotnohair |

Very attentive staff made this meal for 8 of us go off real smoothly. Drinks were topped up as required but the food was divine. Probably the best steak I have ever tasted. That was backed up by the 2 other people who enjoyed the same style steak. A proper Texas steakhouse and next time I'm in Houston, I'll sure be making a beeline for this place.

Business Lunch

By BevoBurn96 |

Had a very nice lunch - a ribeye steak on a salad. It was actually a very good lunch. I thought the server and I had come to an understanding on my butter allergy, but by the next day it was clear to me that the kitchen had not followed through on the server's instructions. If you have food allergies, I do not recommend this restaurant.

Award winning Breakfast Buffett

By Jeanine C |

Best made to order breakfast buffet I've ever seen, but it comes a price. 90$ breakfast for 2 adults and 3 kids under 12.

First Class Breakfast Buffet

By B365Traveler |

Always our family's first choice when celebrating a family birthday. This is not a fast food restaurant. We love leisure Saturday or Sunday mornings for these special events. The kids as well as adults are happy because of all the food choices - omlets made to order, waffles or pancakes with fresh fruit and maybe whipped cream? (my favorite), fresh baked pecan sticky rolls and more. Check their menu on line. The waite staff is always ready to help in any way. You never feel rushed and you won't leave hungry.

Really good burger. Friendly

By David M |

Really good burger. Friendly team behind the bar led by José. Mohammed gave us great service and the burger took a while was really good. Less good was the cheese enchilada, but it was supposed to be served with chicken so...

Where's the (Decent) Beef?

By YYC_Foodie |

After a long day I wandered over to the Rio Ranch as it was right beside my hotel. Classic Texas decor and very fast friendly service. Staff were quick to drop off a couple of warm corn muffins and biscuits with honey butter. Regular butter would have been nice. But what about the food? Well, the starter of tortilla soup was quite good with crispy tortilla strips and a tomato base redolent of cilantro and cumin. Extremely hot, temperature-wise. Main course of NY Striploin with grilled asparagus; the former with ancho chile butter and the later with a dollop of salsa/pico de gallo. The green stalks were nicely done but could have used a tad more seasoning or lots more of the salsa. The steak, requested rare, was medium-rarish, but close enough. Where it really fell apart was the meat. Tough. Sinewy. Not your corn fed Nebraska or grain fed Alberta beef. I am not sure why I keep hoping there is a place in Texas serving Texas beef that is half decent. For $34 for a tough steak, it has to be better.

Not what it used to be

By JKTexas |

Took clients for a lunch. The restaurant was about 1/4 full. Not a good sign. The food was OK but not great. I had the daily special of fried chicken breast. I think the breast was cooked at 10AM and reheated for my lunch. The sauce on the chicken was watery

Average food, fair service

By BBVeniceFL |

There is nothing remarkable about this place. It's average chain type of food, with a focus on grilled meats. The meats are prepared as ordered, and the food arrives fairly quickly. The servers don't seem very knowledgeable about the menu when asked.

The star of my dinner: A beautiful Ribeye...

By Ryo Z |

I noticed this restaurant when I first arrived to Houston. I was searching to find a nice place for steaks, the only thing is sometimes it's hot or miss with steak houses. I think this one did a good job. While walking towards the restaurant, the air is filled with the aroma of smokiness from a hidden BBQ grill somewhere. It will take you back to those days where you've got your charcoal going and wood chips getting ready to grill up some mean steaks! As I walked in, I was greeted by a hostess who immediately sat me down and next up to my table was John. A very articulate and dramatic persona with some charm. He was the first to introduce himself and let me know about the soup du jour: tortilla soup or black bean soup. The ice tea I ordered came immediately- please note that there is a full bar in another section of this cowboy/western themed restaurant, so drink it up if that's what you're needing. I also received a small plate with one cornbread muffin and a roll with a side of soft butter. The cornbread was good. I'm not a fan of the roll. I started with the black bean soup. It's not spicy, which is great for me, but if you want some heat, ask for hot sauce. I also want to say, I did enjoy the flavor of the soup but there were no beans, I feel like they had been blended down into the broth, which was pretty good. Though, it was topped with cream chopped green onions, I felt that it need a little more texture - I would recommend small tortilla strips. I tried to sop up the soup with the roll, and I didn't care for it. Skip the roll. Then, the star of my dinner, the ribeye. Ordered rare, I cut into the steak with such ease it was effortless! The steak was flavored so well & the butter that came on the side was very delicious. I also ordered a side of asparagus that was grilled to al dente - and the stalks were huge! The Mac n cheese burnt my tongue. My fault. I should've waited but it was good too, perhaps a little bland and it wasn't a show stopping sort of Mac N Cheese, I feel they can take it to another level. Shout out to my waiter John , for such a nice dinner! I think this place is good, it has the potential to be great by redesigning their side dishes and condiments. They do steaks very well, so, lets see what happens if I ever come back, perhaps I'll have an elevated dining experience on my return. :)

the bar was just the right size, offered a meal and the bartender was very helpful and knowledgeable. the meal was excellent, I order the special so it was a bit pricey but very good.

Thanksgiving dismay

By Gladtobethere |

I have always thought highly of this restaurant. Have brought visitors from Europe and across the the USA. They loved it. But it's not what it used to be. For Thanksgiving we had almost no service. No one brought us water, asked about drinks, offered coffee unless we asked. Then the hostess, not a waiter, brought them. Food was good with some obvious exceptions leftover from the morning service, e.g., eggs benedict. Crowd management poor. At $49 a head it was not right. Reserving future reviews for future meals. But now: beware of holidays.

Awesome Sunday Buffet!

By Lifetraveler1 |

I lived in Houston for years. It was only after I left there and started to visit did I find out about this restaurant. It is on Westheimer about 5 miles from the Galleria Mall. I love a really good waffle and will not eat one, unless it is hot, airy and fluffy inside with a crisp, crackling crust. This place has the best waffles ever and the same guy makes them each time I come to visit. The buffet is about $16 and you get made to order pancakes, waffles, omelets and scrambled egg combination. The orange juice taste like orange juice, not that cheap watery crap you get in some places. I made a fruit bowl for my mother of peaches, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, banana. She have bacon, sweet gooey rolls with nuts on them, hash brown, yogurt cups with fruit. They even have honey butter and strawberry butter for the pancakes or waffles. The waitstaff is nice and you can go back as much as you want. The service is fast and the food is just good. I'm back in Atlanta and I'm thinking about the awesome waffle.

Good not great.

By Landman_10 |

The food is fine just pricey and not anything to get exited about.

Yeh...I Know its says STEAKHOUSE, BUT EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS !

I stayed next door at the Hilton WestChase, and opted for the very brief walk to RIO RANCH and I am so glad that I did! Greeted by a Friendly Host and Mgr, with a smile and Hello Sir. After being seated , my waiter Charlie ( who was proficient, friendly, helpful and hospitable) brought me a cold Stella Artois, and cornbread, biscuit , butter and honey to much on, as I perused the variety on the menu ,and the unusual decor. It was' Prime Rib Night,' which I usually go for, but opted for the Pan Seared Red Snapper, with the Avocados, tomatoes, lump crab meat, and lime sauce.( A toss up between that and the Mahi Mahi). Absolutely perfectly done and delicious ! A taste treat ! Had it with ' loaded baked potato. I wanted the Cr'eme Brulee Cheesecake to finish for desert, . ( Had it in Florida at the Food Shack... another review)...KILLER !!! ) but just could not...there was No way ! I'm sure it was fantastic. I STRONGLY recommend this Eatery. A wonderful satisfying experience overall !

always dependable and sets the standard for service!

Love to stop by for any meal. Breakfasts are really special. Try the "huevos rancheros" a la Ranch.Very well presented. Food is well prepared, reasonably priced and topped off with admirable service.

Feels like Texas

By somm_wannabe |

Dining solo while on a work trip, the closest option was the restaurant in the hotel. It was an excellent choice after a long day of work and travel. Casual atmosphere with country music (80s and 90s era!) playing on the overhead speakers. Main menu didn't offer the most exclusive wine menu, so I did the next best thing: Tito's and soda. Tito's in Texas, right?! For dinner I had the signature salad with salmon. Perfectly cooked salmon, crisp greens, fresh avocado, and an amazing balsamic dressing! If you are staying at the Hilton Westchase or nearby, this is a nice stop for dinner.

Sunday Brunch

By RushingOrchid |

Took the grown sons and his friends for Sunday Brunch. Good, fresh food. Nice ambiance. A little more expensive than we would have liked, but the service was fine. Will go again.

Great steak dinner but a an awesome Sunday brunch

By wjohnson56 |

I love the steaks at Rio Ranch, they offer a pepper corn filet mignon that is not on the menu you need to ask for it and it is well worth it. I also enjoy their Sunday brunch, I think its one of the best in Houston.

very nice and quick service

By james o |

the menu was very diverse with fish eaters, meat eaters and vegetarians all at the same table. The drinks were very good too and inexpensive

Wonderful Time!

By adabotaj |

I was given a complimentary breakfast ticket to be at the Rio Ranch Steakhouse Buffet and I had a field day. Just the sight of the dishes alone was 'Delicious' and I had finished eating by looking at the dishes before I got my plate to serve the wonderful sausages, scrambled eggs and meat balls- Oh! Boy, I was so happy I took pictures everywhere around the restaurant. Under the bull head, by the table, sat on the rocking chair and the lady who helped take the pictures was not just tired of my Joy around the restaurant. Unlike Oliver Twist- I got my second helping! Lol!

Rio Ranch

By MortimerBigMouse |

Great experience from the minute my husband and I walked in. The restaurant is fabulously decorated - a bison head mounted on the wall, brick fireplace to lend the place a cosy feel, wall lamps (complete with horns) above booths to give nice gentle lighting, plenty of tables and space - the whole place just looks the part. Our waitress, Teresa, was very friendly and attentive. We were given a free basket of appetisers as we perused the menu (not sure what they were exactly - rice cakes and plain scones with a pot of clotted cream is the best way I can describe them - but they were damn nice whatever they were!) I ordered burger and fries for my main, which I enjoyed greatly! And my husband ordered steak - which he said was superb. Unfortunately neither of us had room for dessert afterwards, but we stayed a while longer and just relaxed with a bottle of red. If I was back in the area I'd definitely eat here again. Lovely atmosphere, great service and wonderful food - what more could you want?

Limited menu and overpriced

By John H |

I have eaten here a number of times while staying in the hotel. The bartenders are very friendly and welcoming, but the menu is very limited and overpriced. Food is fairly well prepared but when I asked for a well-done hamburger it was still bloody in the center. Had to eat around the edges. Much better restaurants in the area that I would recommend.

Nice place - Hidden Gem

By Doug G |

This restaurant is part of the Hilton Westchase and that would usually be a reason not to go but the place is pretty good. Nice decor and good food. I don't think the steaks are up to a challenge against a Ruth Chris or Pappas etc but the salads and Tex Mex food is very good. A pleasant place to go and enjoy lunch.

Avoid Unless You Want The Worst Service in America!

By DintleWintles |

Was unfortunate enought to have to deal with this establishment whlst staying in the adjoining hotel. They give the hotel a bad name. Room service was the worst I have ever experienced. Had to speak with 2 people ( the first cut me off mid order ) and they still messed up the order. Customer cocktails booked one night. Took 40+ minutes just to get a drink. Manager didn't seem bothered. I gave up complaining after 5 attempts. They also gave away 2 bottles of wine that had been send to us as a surprise. Avoind this place. Worst service I have EVER experienced.

Very good local twist on food

By ScottC4746 |

Pricey in my opinion but you are in a hotel, however the food is very good specializing in standard fare including steaks and seafood with a Texas spin on it.

Fabolous Breakfast!

By Neisha R |

We recieved free coupons to the breakfast buffet from the Hilton next door. The food was great! They have a griddle serving fresh pancakes and waffles. There is also a omelette station. Food was superb. Service was descent. Would certainly go again! Great Sunday Morning Breakfast indeed!

Good but not great

By Jason N |

I ate here twice during a recent visit to Houston. The first filet was okay, but not cooked as well as it could have been. I had the rib eye on the second visit and it was cooked the way a steak should be cooked. So to me it is hit and miss what you get here. But, it is stupid close to the hotels in the area so the convenience outweighs the little things.

Great hotel restaurant

By George F |

Great brekfast and the steak was one of the best I've ever had.

Would not go back

By Padraic M |

Convenient (attached) to the tattered and worn Hilton Westchase. Would not go back to either. Service was mediocre. Food, unfortunate.

Go for the biscuits

By Cynthia U |

True Texas breakfast. Love a buffet with biscuits plus of course the assortment of pancakes, bacon, sausage, and a variety of eggs including made to order. The setting is lovely reminiscent of a west Texas ranch house.

Ok for a hotel restaurant

By OmanRob |

Ate here and had chicken enchiladas which were fine, staff ok but really nothing to write home about, better places in the area Rob

average place for breakfast....

By Italy with Bella |

Had to eat here because it was what the hotel offered for their breakfast service. You could tell this was not their forte and the breakfast was barely adequate..

Birthday Celebration

By BabaJohn |

Our birthday lunch was made memorable by the kind staff and fun atmosphere of Rio Ranch. Assists we throughly enjoyed our time there.

Wonderful Christmas Eve Dinner

By Michael M |

The first thing that was great about the Rio Ranch was it was open on Christmas Eve.,.. I had the Knife & Fork Burger, topped with bacon, beans & cheese (passed on the peppers), the menu said is was rated one of the top 5 burgers in the state & I have to agree, only downside was the french fries were out of a bag... Wife and mother were concerned that 5 jumbo shrimp would not be enough to fill them up, but they were really "JUMBO" and there was no room for desert after they had them... Service was great too, waiter was patient till we decided what to have, drinks were kept full, and the timing was perfect... Although it was a lot more than I am used to paying for a meal, it was a special treat for Christmas Eve that I did not regret, and we just might do it again next year...

Nice Texan Restaurant

By Ghumakkar |

I fell in love with the ambience, it's really a beautiful place. Loved the breakfast with so many options. Dining menu was otherwise limited and quite mexican-texan, so didn't suite my taste buds. Tried pizza and pasta - good to order but too much for a single person ;)

Don’t try the wings!

By BEAUTEZZ |

Always stay at hotel for business. Tried this restaurant years ago and wasn’t impressed then, but wanted to give it another chance but really regret that decision. Was craving wings, so I gave them a try. Worst wings I have ever gotten. They were dry and way overcooked. They were so hard and tough I couldn’t finish them. Stay clear of the wings!

Neat Decor

By llcoold |

The building itself is constructed of what appear to be massive wooden beams. Adorning the walls are such items as bulls horns, bulls heads, wagon wheels, branding irons etc etc...all things which are meant to be sterotypical of Texas. Had the Buffulo burger at lunch, which was on the dry side, but was a massive burger! Service was good, and free refills are always welcome!!! The reastaurant also serves as the breakfast place for the Hilton Westchase (which the resturant is attached to), and the food at breakfast is great!

Great food, excellent service

By juanj325 |

The food is excellent, the service outstanding, the portions are good and you can walk from the Hilton inside lobby.

quiet steakhouse

By msi2014 |

This fancy ranch-style cuisine restaurant looked nice from the outside. We had a quick meal next to the fireplace, with a handful of guests in the restaurant.

Great Business Lunch and Family Brunch

By allschaef24 |

Great place for a business lunch. The menu offers chicken, steak, fish and salads. I really love the Sunday Brunch. It's a fantastic way to enjoy a Sunday morning with family and friends.

Best steak I've had since our last Vegas trip

By Howard A |

Just a note about the Rio Ranch as I've already mentioned it in my Hilton Houston Westchase review. We always like to find good places to eat. One of our new favorites is Vic and Anthony's in the Golden Nugget, Las Vegas. I'll also include Joes steakhouse, seafood and stone crab house in the Forum Shops, again Las Vegas. I'll have to now add the Rio Ranch to that elite list. Everything was good. I'll warn you about the bisquits they bring out prior to the meal....don't eat 'em! That is unless you want to fill up on these litte pieces of heaven before you get a chance to sample the steak. Get the filet and the bacon wrapped shrimp on the side. You will thank me for that one. Great service, decent prices and the atmosphere is old west all the way. Even if you aren't staying in the Westchase, make plans to spend one of your Houston evening meals at the Rio Ranch and you will be glad you did.

Great Food

By TheWanders |

Good place to eat if you don't want to leave the Hotel. Great Service...Ruby is the best

Breakfast, brunch and dinner - all very good

By JWWRIGHT |

I stayed at the Hilton hotel next door for 7 nights and ate breakfast, brunch and dinner in the restaurant and bar over the week. Great selection of food for breakfast, all fresh and will good service. Brunch on Sunday morning was incredible - I didn't need to eat again all day! Omelettes, waffles, pancakes, pastries, fresh fruit - take your pick and keep going back! The dinner menu was great too - lots of choice and the weekend special 12oz steak was very good. I would most definitely recommend a visit. The service was always pleasant and quick and the bar staff were very friendly - they couldn't do enough for me.

Beautiful Place...Dinner needs Lifeline

By KarenRonTexas |

This restaurant has been around a very long time. We went there last time after Hurricane Harvey, would have been October 2017. The architecture us Hill Country Stone/Western style. Gorgeous stone fireplace inside where you can eat right in front. This is attached to a Hilton Hotel but an obvious separate entrance away from hotel with easy surface parking. Our waiter, John, was there last year. He is extremely cirdial and polite, but like last year, the only obvious waitstaffer for all the tables, where, like last year, less tgsn 5 tables had diners. Timeframe 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday night. Drinks were sliw to receive, food took 40 minutes and order for 4 was a salad with chicken, a French dip sandwich with fries, pork sliders with fries, chicken fried steak. often, we looked for John and did not see him. last night 2 other tables occupied. French dip sandwich good, salad okay, Chicken fried steak seemed was prebattered, frozen. Pork sliders seemed old tough pork, heated and smothered in BBQ sauce, on 3 slider buns with barely any coleslaw atop. I hope breakfast and lunch better. Seems customers here mostly breakfast abd lunch from hotel guests. This place is beautiful and 15+ years ago a romantic dining place with top food. Change needs to happen here....hotel guests may only come one time. Houstonians once repeatedly came here for great dinners. Was sad to see.

Best steak I've ever had....and I've had a few ....

By Larryfromallen |

Restaurant was empty because of crazy bad weather so I ate at the bar. I ordered the 6oz filet with black pepper and creamy mushroom sauce....it was perfect. Amy the bartender suggested the mesquite grilled asparagus, which was also perfect. Amy also recommend a fantastic wine. I'm not a wine expert so I'm not sure what it was but am a good tasting food expert and I know I liked it.

Good food but not very busy

By bigasstraveller |

Went with colleagues for dinner. Not that many people in the restaurant that night but good service and food.

Best breakfast buffet

By TAMAN1951 |

All items fresh. Every item you could want. Lovely eggs and omelette stop order. Hot waffles. Potatoes are to die for. Fresh biscuits and gravy. Nice fruit selection. What else could you want. Service a little slow but fair prices.

Delicious food, great service

By Julieh57_12 |

Had a spur of the moment dinner here on a Friday evening. Nice rustic atmosphere, wasn't crowded so it was great for quiet conversation. We ordered petite filet with bacon wrapped shrimp, and lamb chops; salad and a side were included, along with biscuits and corn muffins. For dessert we shared creme brûlée. Everything was delicious. Our server Teresa was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. A bit expensive, but since salads and sides are included, it was a good meal for the money. We would definitely go back when we're in town.

Good service

By Carlos A |

Good service and good food for a hotel restaurant and an OK price, convenient if you are staying at the hotel. Breakfast is also good.

Sunday Brunch Favorite

By jomill2015 |

You can't go wrong with Sunday Brunch at Rio Ranch. It's reasonable and very good with an omelet station, eggs benedict, make your own breakfast tacos, smoked salmon, bagels and cream cheese and more. The only thing I wish is that they change it up a little from time to time, but other than that it's reasonable and very good.

Breakfast buffet

By Oswaldo Guzman |

We ate breakfast at the hotel because it was included in our room, but it was an average buffet it should be better knowing that is a restaurant from a Hilton Hotel.

Best steak I've ever had, delicious breakfast buffet

By Lola1958 |

I ordered the "special," a pepper glazed sirloin that was at least two inches thick and cooked to perfection. It was absolutely incredible. Tender, juicy and delicious! I couldn't finish it and my only regret was that I couldn't! It is very peppery, but since I love pepper and the name indicated pepper, I wasn't disappointed. It is a bit pricey - 38.00 but a real treat. I had the grilled asparagus and mushrooms, again...delicious! Breakfast buffet has everything you could want, including fresh homemade biscuits and gravy. I especially enjoyed the fresh fruit - blueberrys, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries. The griddle serves omletts, eggs cooked to order, pancakes and waffles. What more could you want! Breakfast buffet is 18.00 so go hungry. Atmosphere is Texas ranch, beautiful fireplace, stone floors, casual. Staff is very helpful, welcoming...I am glad we didn't pass this one by...it was in our hotel and hotel restaurants can sometimes be disappointing...not this one!

Easter Sunday Brunch to Avoid

By VIEQUESBEACHBUM |

This was the third time I have had Easter Brunch at Rio Ranch over the last seven or eight years and the experience just keeps getting worse. The family did not want to go here, but I said, lets give them another chance. The selection of entree's service and quality of the food was just not very good. I have had many lunch meetings here over the years and it is always good, so I do not understand why they have dropped the ball so much on the Buffet. Buffet for four was $200. Luby's would have been better. The coffee service was awful, the coffee cold, desserts seemed store bought, prime rib was Meh! They did not even have proper crostini for the smoked salmon. When I asked, they brought Ritz crackers!! No cold appetizers like shrimp or crab. Three meat entrees including the prime rib. Chicken Piccata and carver station ham both equally disappointing. They really need to step up the game here when so many restaurants are going out of the way to provide a quality experience. We skipped a few years in coming this Sunday, mostly because we could not get a table at the place we wanted. I do miss the old Rio Ranch from years ago. The Sunday brunch used to be amazing. Next year its off to better returns

Great meal and service

By Vanessa S |

I had breakfast and dinner here and the food was very good. The fish was cooked perfectly and my server was super attentive. I will definitely be back.

Enjoyable Sunday Brunch

By Mark B |

I have gone here for Sunday brunch several times over the years. comparing the non-holiday weekend Sunday brunch at Rio Ranch to the brunches of other hotel restaurants, Rio Ranch has been the better bargain. The staff is very friendly and responsive. In my most recent visits, I have noticed that the brunch crowd is filling out earlier, thus they tend to shut down the brunch earlier. Soy milk is not available. On special Sundays, like Easter, Mother's Day, etc. prices are higher, and the crowds are a little too much.

Excellent Sunday Brunch!

By Reenerbeener |

We had a big family gathering for brunch at this restaurant. We were seated in our own private room and given first class service. The brunch was delicious. I would not hesitate to return.

Beware menu prices

By 214valentine |

After reviewing the menu for breakfast, I decided to go with the Sunday buffet breakfast which offered a wide variety of well prepared food. The menu price was $17.00. The table service for drinks was hit and miss in that hot water was brought for tea but no tea bags were offered until the water had gotten lukewarm. Waiter just didn't seem to have the concept of timely service. The brunch fare was very good but there was sticker shock when the bill came showing a $21.00 charge for breakfast listed on menu at $17.00. When questioned about the disparity between menu price and actual charge, the reply was," Oh, that is a weekday menu." Surely a place like that can afford to print truthful menus for the higher priced day/s. While the food was good, service was mediocre, I felt that customers are being cheated. by charging a higher price than indicated on menu. The difference isn't a whole lot for two people, but a table for a family, that can put a real dent in the budget.

Pretty good but

By TAMAN1951 |

Bread offerings are very good to start but menu selection is extremely limited. Fried chicken salad is well done. Burgers are also large and tasty. Good service. A little pricey.

Good food-beautiful western decor

By JeanP777 |

I have eaten here many times and hosted numerous group meals for business meetings and have never been disappointed in the food quality and presentation or service. The steaks are delicious and salads are fresh and delicious. The bar has a nice western ambiance and good service. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant is in a great location especially if you are staying at the Hilton as it is directly attached to the hotel,

Overpriced and overrated

By Mare6776 |

We went here mainly because it is right next to the hotel we stayed at. The food is over priced. We arrived in jeans and t shirts and felt under-dressed. After traveling for 9 hours to arrive for a state football game, all we wanted was a hot meal and warm bed. it took quite a while to get the food.

Very Limited Menu

By Carlos Sanchez |

Visited with a colleague for Dinner. Menu is quite limited. Ordered 2 Ribeye Steaks. Both arrived overcooked, i would expect more from a "Steakhouse"

Flavorful Food and Excellent Service

By TravelIngenue |

This was our first visit to Rio Ranch. While I was surprised to find it so empty on a Friday night ( we were one of only about six parties in the 2 hours we were there), this made for a quiet meal with excellent attention from our waiter, John. We took John's suggestions and ordered the off-menu Peppercorn Filet and the Chicken Enchiladas. Both were well-prepared and SUPER flavorful. Thank you, john for your recommendations and your superb service.

Slow, wrong food, badly cooked and heavily overvharged

By Bjørn Egil T |

A big party off colleques, but this was not even close to what I would consider even close to ghe extreme pricelevel. If you look for excellent steaks, I recommend go somewere else. The steaks for two of us was overcooked, then undercooked. The food took way to long to arrive, and they did not know how to make a Mojito?? Not happy.

LaJuana the morning chef

By LargoBound1 |

LaJuana the morning chef is awesome! She puts love in every plate, comes out to check on customers to make sure everything is good. She even made us her own homemade salsa. Highly recommend & will go there next trip to Houston!

Bad and Good

By RickK |

Ate here twice in early January 2016. Both times were for business lunch. I have eaten here numerous times but don't think I have ever written a review. First meeting, I ordered a cheeseburger medium rare. This had to be one of the worst means I have ever had. Thank goodness for the french fries. The bread was extremely dry...warmed up but with no butter added to the bun in doing so. The meat...dry dry dry. I would never order this meal again. Second trip, I had the ribeye. I understand that ribeyes are going to have a little fat on them which probably adds to the flavor. The flavor was good. The steak was tender. Not a bad meal. Their biscuits and cornbread muffins are very good too.

Delicious food and great atmosphere

By MikeFromWisc |

The Rio Ranch is what I imagine a Texas steakhouse to look like. The place is spacious and formal, and well decorated. We had a party of 50 in the banquet room. The food was well cooked and served, and we enjoyed the local flavors and touches.

Nice but more expensive than I’d expect

By HampshireFamilyMan |

Really enjoyed my meal and the beer. Staff were fine but main course turned up whilst still eating starters. Rookie mistake guys!

Great for Sunday brunch

By dyniame |

One of the best places in Houston fro Sunday brunch. Good hearty meal if you'd like, or you can splurge on fruits and berries. Maybe a bit pricey for a buffet, but it's absolutely worth it! Family friendly too, so bring your kids.

Below expectation dining experience for a Hilton property

By G-sachin |

Had a single dining experience at Rio Ranch and decided against having any more. The preparation was lacking taste. The serving was totally average lacking any style.

One of the better hotel restaurants

By BarneyHaarlem |

Very friendly staff with great choices of grill and burger dishes. Very decent food for a hotel restaurant, or one attached to a hotel frequented by hotel guests. It also has a sportsbar with nice selection of draft beer and largely the same menu as in the restaurant. Nice place when staying in the hotel.

Great atmosphere for a romantic meal

By Tom E |

I was very impressed with the atmosphere. My lady and I went for our Christmas dinner date and they seated us right in front of the fireplace. The drinks were top-notch and the steaks cooked exactly the way we both liked ours and seasoned very well. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm atmosphere and good steak.

Super yummy

By Louisa V |

We always have our administrative apprectian lunch here. This place is great, food is great, service is great. I have never been for dinner, but plan to soon.

Convenient location at the hotel

By travelerSharon |

Food was great and service was outstanding. The staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was wonderful as well.

Nice steak and asparagus

By 67daytripper |

Nice place...stayed in nearby motel and as I was exhausted from traveling, I walked to Rio Ranch and enjoyed myself thoroughly. Not loud, no crying babies. Enjoyed a stunning ribeye steak perfectly prepared. I suggest trying it.

Always a good meal

By bigrpc13 |

We always try to visit this restaurant when visiting from the UK. Food is pricey so it's our treat. Menu hasn't changed much over the years. Food is always hot & tasty even if choice is limited. Service from friendly staff is great. The only disappointment on this visit was the lack of clientele which meant there was no atmosphere.

First time great, second time not so much.

By dlduncan1298 |

We visited there several months ago when in Houston and had a wonderful, attentive waitress. Love the ambiance and the food was fantastic. However, on our visit last night it was a different story. While our main course was wonderful, though a bit slow to arrive, our salads were watery and our waiter might want to find another profession. On the rare occasion that we saw him we repeatedly asked for things that he may or may not bring, and if he did it took forever. It took at least a half hour to get our salads. The place was not busy so that could not have been the problem. My husband had tea and was refilled with soda. I asked for extra ice and all drinks were served with a few tiny specks of ice floating on the top, they were barely cool. It just was not the same experience as before and we were very disappointed.

Best Breakfast brunch

By Richmelan |

I do not believe that I have ever had a better breakfast! WOW Everything that you might want. I had a Miges?? omelette (w/o jalapenos) THE Best omelette that I have ever had!

Big Salads For Lunch

By FoxTravelers |

Service fast -- had two salads with one being the Smoked Turkey and other being Fried Chicken -- includes selection of cornbread muffins and rolls w/honey butter. You can ask for more.

Great food and staff

By Mark Guest |

This evening I wanted a fish dish which isn't on their menu anymore, no problem they produced it! hopefully the Red Snapper will return to the menu so others can enjoy it too.

Great steak!

By busymomtothree |

This place knows how to grill a great steak! The filet was tender and cooked perfectly and the homemade biscuits and cornbread with honey butter were delicious. On a negative note, a glass of soda brought to our table was dirty with a particle of food stuck to the inside. This is the only reason why I didn't give this restaurant an excellent review.

Pricey for what it is

By Justin W |

Whilst I can't complain about the food the cost is very high in comparison to other outlets offering the same type of fare.

Good food...no atmosphere

By Theresa R |

Tried today...first time. Food was tasty...the place was tastefully decorated like the Hill Country...rustic. Music was soft .., it wasn't enough ambience for my taste. Too quiet ... Not sure we'd go back.

Very tasty food

By Wyliegal |

I had the grilled chicken twice as it is very tasty. Smoked just the right amount and served with a tasty salsa and grilled onions. I ordered the roast potatoes for my side dish which are really delicious. Price what I would expect for a restaurant like this. Service at the bar where I ate was excellent

Best Breakfast in town

By Matthew C |

Went for Sunday brunch a couple of weeks back. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. The made to order eggs were incredible along with the pancakes. My favorite was the home made biscuits. Will definitely be back soon

good steaks, atmosphere and pricey

By Cynthia U |

this is the restaurant for the Hilton. the atmosphere is pure old west. the steaks are quite good as is the asparagus. reservations are a good idea as it gets a lot of hotel traffic.

Dinner at the bar

By Mike A |

Sat at the bar for dinner on 11/30. Bar tender attentive. Ordered cheeseburger (18$) and onion rings. Horrible burger. Very dry patty, probably frozen. Onion rings were good. If you want a nice fresh burger, go somewhere else (Outback next door).

Nice lunch

By Beth N |

We ordered the ranch chicken salads which were excellent. The shrimp salsa with chips was a good appetizer. The service was efficient and friendly. All good!

Not sure what the fuss is about

By John S |

Went here for dinner while staying in the attached Hilton hotel. Food was just ok so I chalked it up to just being an average hotel restaurant. Next day my local coworker wanted to go back for lunch and raved about how great the food was. I thought maybe I just ordered the wrong the the previous night so went back. This time I had the same thing she ordered and still was not impressed. This restaurant is average at best, but considering the options in the area I'd rate it poor when compared to others.

Service and food were great

By Jackjackmom |

Great service the waiter gave and the food was very good. Husband got the "fork and knife burger" and it was very good and the dipping sauce were very tasty.
