Delicious pizza

By Todd J |

I tried the "Fennel Sausage and Slow Roasted Caramelized Onion" which was tasty and properly cooked. I thought it was plenty for the four at my table. The server tried to persuade an up-sell by telling us one pizza was good for two, not four.--despite the table next to us only having one pizza as well. That said, it was plenty for normal sized people.

Great lady running bar

By Alfred D |

Brilliant pizzas with loads of taste. I was there on Friday 18th November at lunch time. The lady working the bar was not only stunningly beautiful but brilliant at her job. She made sure we had all we needed but wasn’t annoying. Did I mention she is stunning?? Well she is.

Wow a hidden gem and a must for a visit !

By ClareLou273 |

Must visit for just the best pizza ! We are gluten free and it is delicious ! You will not be disappointed. Service is lovely and friendly

Delicious, Unique and Environmentally-conscious

By Pamela C |

With so many delicious and unique restaurants in Chicago, our family was extremely impressed by the respect for the environment that Robert's displayed through purchasing ingredients when possible from local farms, using cloth napkins, paper straws and GLASS glasses that were refilled via carafes even for soft drinks. The owner casually walked from table to table asking guests how their meals were and then took time to engage in light conversation if desired. The staff was friendly and service was how a guest could hope for it to be. Perfect combination of great food with a pleasant atmosphere!

They ran out of dough on a reservation of 14ppl.

By Lov2travel |

Got a reservation for 14 and confirmed the reservation 2 hours before. They told us they ran out of pizza. Are you kidding me? 6 kids and 8 adults who wanted pizza. Avoid at all costs. What else will they run out of when you show up?

Great pizza, nice atmosphere

By Luckygin |

Really good pizza--tasted like it was made with very fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was friendly and bright. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Chicago.

Date Night

By Diana H |

Fantastic atmosphere and views! Loved the duck prosciutto pizza and the Passion cocktail. Highly recommend for a date night!

Surprisingly delicious!

First time. Found this on our walk back from Navy Pier to the Doubletree Hotel. Decided to try it for dinner! LOVELY setting, excellent service, reasonable price for an amazing Brick Stone Pizza! Try it, you will enjoy this cozy place!

New York flavor done with Chicago style

By AGaney |

We learned about Robert's Pizza Company via social media as we arrived in Chicago to watch the America's Cup races. Since it was conveniently located near our hotel, we knew we had to try it! We had meatballs as an appetizer and they were delicious! The seafood pizza was savory and oh so good!

Delicious thin crust artisanal pizzas!

By Suzanne M |

If you’re in Chicago and don’t feel like having deep dish pizza, Roberts won’t disappoint. Their Pizzas are delicious - thin crusted and reminiscent of what you would find in Italy. Their gluten free pizza crust is very good as well. In all honesty, it’s not as good as their regular crust (is it ever?) but much better than any gluten-free pizza I have ordered elsewhere. Our favourites: prosciutto and arugula (light and delicious) and pepperoni and mushroom (always a favourite). They have a good wine list as well with some very decent reasonably priced bottles. Roberts does have a happy hour from 4 to 6 on weekdays.

After river cruise

Delicious and fast. Thin pizza versus deep dish chi style but amazing. Service great. Drinks too. Would go again.

Wow!

By Louise T |

We called in at Robert's for a quick snack after skipping breakfast. There were 6 of us so we ordered 2 pizzas to share (mushroom and a meat) and some drinks. Both the drinks and the food arrived pretty quickly and the server was friendly and chatty, without being over bearing. The pizzas were absolutely outstanding - we were gutted to find it closed when we came back the next day. I never eat in the same place twice when I visit a city, the fact that we all wanted to come back the following day shows just how delicious the pizza was!!

way overrated

By Tom S. |

Great location and service, but poor value. Apple and hazelnut salad was wilted, no dressing, and additional chicken was undercooked, which the manager recognized. Did not comp us or compensate us in any way. We were a party of 6. Did not come near the $25 dollar price tag. Rest of the food was average in taste and preparation, but way overpriced. Would not recommend or return there.

Great thin crust pizza

By Dr. A |

Great thin pizza with a crust. Dough is perfect. Nice views outside, good service. Best pizza I had in Chicago hands down.

Very good pizza and great neighborhood atmosphere

By Denise D |

My husband and I really enjoyed the evening we spent at Robert's during a recent visit to Chicago. We sat outside on a beautiful summer night and really got to soak in the atmosphere of the neighborhood. The pizza was delicious - who knew meatballs could taste so good on a pizza? We felt very relaxed and enjoyed feeling like we were part of a cozy local place.

Artisanal pizza

By Culture Vulture 60657 |

After reading the "Chicago Tribune" food critic's statement that Robert's has the best pizza crust in town, we had to give it a try. We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, having made a reservation a few days ahead. This secured us a table by the big windows facing Odgen Slip, a narrow channel with dockage for pleasure boats. As it was a pleasant day, the windows were open. There's a second spacious room behind the first with no views and an open kitchen. After a debate, we ordered the grilled sausage pizza and the romaine salad which was pretty much a Caesar. We shared both. The Caesar was excellent with 2 fat slices of fresh white anchovy on top and big croutons made from the same dough as the pizza. There was just the right amount of dressing on the crisp romaine. It was a delicious salad, though a little small for $12. The pizza was quite large, maybe 15 inches in diameter, and came hot out of the oven. The dough was crisp all the way to the center and had somewhat more heft than a Neapolitan pizza. The tomato sauce was unassertive; the mozzarella was plentiful and good. I thought the fennel sausage was lacking in flavor, not nearly as good as the homemade fennel sausage you find at Pequod's. Next time, I'm going to try duck prosciutto on my pizza. They have beers (some local breweries represented), wine and cocktails. Service was good. Because it was daytime and just beginning to fill up, it was not noisy.

Great Pizza & Service

By MB |

This is a wonderful location on the Ogden Slip. The pizza was delicious! We ordered sausage and mushroom. The sausage was flavorful and the sauce complimented it with a little kick. The crust was dynamic being crisp on bottom and soft on top. The servers were very attentive and extremely friendly in the Chicago way. Nice wine list, mixed cocktails and beer on tap. Absolutely loved the vibe and decor. Bluesy rock playing, soft lighting, washed brick walls, wood ceiling, wall of windows overlooking the outdoor seating and Ogden Slip and friendly laughter. We will definitely make this a regular spot for us.

Really good pizza and ‘Robert’ visited table

By Christopher T |

Had pizza and salad and drinks. Very tasty pizza. Owner Robert visited table and was incredibly pleasant and shared his story. Would definitely visit again!

Perfecto! My new default pizzeria in Chicago. Absolutely outstanding!

By michiganpete7 |

Wow, forget Gino's, Giordano's or Lou Malnati's! And the prices that go with them! Choose Robert's Pizza & Dough Company and thank me later, then spread the word to your friends and they'll thank you later too! What makes Robert's stand out is the attention to details that Robert gives to the quality of their food. And yes, we learned that was Robert and his daughter int he kitchen making our lunches. Everything has been thought out, from the flavor and texture of the crust, to the toppings, to the unique and handmade appetizers, to dessert. All of it was top notch! Their fennel sausage is to die for, not too strong, just the right amount of flavor! And spring for their homemade gelato (coconut was a favorite!). The wait staff was friendly and not overbearing. It's clear they love Robert's too and in a city where it's common to have people take a condescending attitude toward tourists, our waiters seemed to really enjoy sharing the Robert's story and making sure we had everything we needed. What can I say, I'm smitten! Just wish I lived in Chicago so I could dine there more often.

Lovely Location

By mspatron |

The sun was shining and the food was great. This restaurant had indoor and outside dining and we choose to be next to the window that was open to the walkway that opened with a great water view. The pizzas were fantastic, the beet salad is a must! The warm olives good but I would have ordered a 2nd beet salad had I known how delicious the beet salad was. Service was great, very nice servers. Bathrooms are a bit far but not too bad. I will return when I go back to Chicago

Recommended by some at our hotel

By MeryMeCo |

We were staying at the Embassy Suites downtown with our three grandsons (one is vegetarian) and needed some place to eat. Someone at the hotel told us where they got their pizza so we walked down there and ordered a couple of pizzas and a burger to go. It was crazy busy so we knew it must be good and it was.

Love this spot!!

By HappyTraveler1957 |

Love this spot! Went here for dinner during a recent visit to Chicago. It's popular so getting a reservation was challenging but we went and waited for a seat at the bar which eventually opened up. However we got lucky and a table opened up at the same time so we opted for that since there were three of us. We had pizza and salad. The food was great and the service was friendly and attentive. Nice indoor and outdoor seating.

Excellent thin crust pizza and service

By paul B |

Excellent pizza with awesome dough and good choices of toppings ...appetizers are excellent too. We had thin crust and it was best pizza I've had outside NY. 5 stars. ..servo e excellent too...I'll be back

Don’t expect pizza at a world famous pizza restaurant!

By jt15146 |

I walked here from my hotel… Over 11/2 miles… to have world famous pizza. First, they told me I couldn’t get a table without a reservation. My bad. Then I was told if I could find a seat at the bar I could eat there. But at the bar I ordered a drink and then was told that they don’t serve pizza at the bar. Only small plates. When I asked for the manager, he said there was nothing he could do. I travel the world speaking about customer service. This will be one of my stories. It’s the only thing I could take away from Roberts pizza, and dough company.

AVOID! NO DRINKING WATER

By TransConFlyer |

NO DRINKING WATER This place has environmentally unsound practices of refusing to serve tap water and requiring a thirsty customer to buy a bottle of overpriced mineral water. The food is average. Not horrible but nothing special. Avoid this place. There are zillions of better options in Chicago.

Thin crust pizza

By purplevelvet |

The pizza was tasty. To me, the pizza was on the expensive side for what it was. The toppings were rather sparse. The staff were nice. Tables were very close together. For this neighborhood, it is a great addition. It seemed authentic, which was a big plus. I would return, but it is not in my top 3 for pizza in Chicago.

Incredible NY Pizza in Chicago!

By TornCalfGuy |

After reading some of the reviews, my first suggestion would be that you make a reservation if you want to come here. We got a patio table and had a great time. If you like Neapolitan (NY-style) pizza, this is a place you should definitely try. Possibly the best of that style pizza I've had anywhere (I lived in the New York-New Jersey area for decades.) We got the Jay Pizza. The fennel sausage is great, but I think I'd have been equally happy with the regular pizza because the sauce, cheese, and crust were all top notch. Service was great, and the server actually said that what they'd prefer when we asked about dishes and drinks.

Not deep dish, but great all the same

By Adwait U |

If you want to have a pizza with a great light crust and fresh toppings without the extra cheese, this is the place to be. But it's not deep dish!

Pizza perfection

By OSCAR J |

This is my favorite pizza in all of Chicago. Tried it as part of Chicago Pizza Tour (which was also excellent). Robert himself came out to greet us and gave a little bit of background about the process he uses to create these hot masterpieces. I will admit that I like pizza any time any where. But Robert’s is next level: charred carmelized crust, cupped pepperoni, real mozzarella that is bubbling hot. It’s cooked to perfection or they throw it out.

I'm in love!

By TheCFro |

I love everything about this quaint place! The decor is super cool and the drinks are very unique! Clint (behind the bar) made me a cucumber / jalapeño / vodka concoction to die for! The pizza couldn't survive here in Chicago if it weren't amazing so that goes without saying! I do prefer their thinner / brick oven style! Delicious!!

Best pizza, beer selection, canal view

By kbobefun |

Warning, this is not a deep dish pizza place but it might be the best pizza I have had in my life and this is coming from a native New Yorker. While this place is a little pricey it is well worth it. On my 4 day trip we ate pizza here twice. We had the sausage pizza, got a plain for my daughter, and also a sausage and pepperoni. Order 1 pizza for two people. The selection of beers was very good. Get a table in the bar area facing the canal or outside if it is nice. Quick and friendly service. Enjoy!

Excellent artisan pizza and atmosphere

By Dina F |

We stumbled upon Robert's after our architectural boat tour. The wide open windows allowed us to peek inside and see the delicious pizzas on offer. Another larger chain had been recommended but this artisan pizza and craft beer was more our style. The Brussel sprouts, bacon, date and balsamic pizza was a delicious surprise. My husband enjoyed the selection of craft beers. My whole family loved sitting by the open window looking out on Ogden slip. This gem of a restaurant should be rated much higher in our opinion. Delicious food, good service, great atmosphere. We will definitely be going back.

Great Pizza, Great Service!

By Mary A |

Stopped by with family for beer and a bite after a show. The pizza was great, and the service was awesome! The owner even stopped by to say hello. We were surprised to discover this is a fairly new establishment! They are off to an amazing start. The excellent pizza menu selections combined with the great service and location are a recipe for success for this business. Will definitely return when we’re back in Chicago!

Great thin crust pizza with a view.

By Elias M |

We visited Chicago for a few days and stayed near Robert's Pizza and Dough Company. My family loves pizza and outvoted me 5 thin crust votes vs. 1 lone deep dish vote. Having seen a sign for Robert's the day before we decided to try the covert eatery. We were waited by a young, friendly, and attentive staff that explained the menu items. The staff welcomed us, made us feel comfortable, explained the menu items, and remained attentive to my families needs for the entire duration of our visit. The river view combined with new construction and décor makes this one of the most alluring casual restaurants I have visited. The owner stopped by and chatted about his quest for the perfect pizza crust and later opening an establishment that focused on the aforementioned crust. The pizzas have an artisan look and seem to be prepared with quality fresh ingredients. A variety of toppings (some are not traditionally available in most pizzerias) are available for a wide range of tastes. You can have fun being creative. I will visit again if I am in the area. My daughter ordered french toast that is made in part with pizza dough. We both tried it and loved it. I am craving it as I write this review.

Go Here!

By hattrick225 |

I ate at Robert's twice during a recent 5 day trip. Both times, the food and service were outstanding. Robert, the owner, is at the door greeting customers as they enter, and checking on how you're satisfied with your meal. I found the servers very knowledgeable about the menu and drink options, and made good recommendations. During my first visit, Wesley was great, Robert stopped by more than once to see how I was enjoying the food, and the pizza chef even stopped by on his break to chat about pizza. Great beer and wine menu, to go with the menu. First time, I tried the Fennel & Caramelized Onion Pizza + house salad, and both were very good. If you're looking for traditional, deep dish pizza (I was not) this is not is. Second time, had the meatballs + apple hazelnut salad. Again, both were very good. All in all, considering the meals I ate during a five day/night stay, Robert's was easily tops on the list. It's definitely on my go-to list when visiting Chicago!

Best pizza, thin crust, fantastic drinks, was my favorite place

By genny2018 |

Not there anymore, they had made different topping that they thought worked with each ingredient. Made fresh and on the spot. It is closed now

My Wife's Favorite Meal in Chicago

By Just Get in the Car |

The wife and kids really enjoyed the restaurant. It was my wife's favorite meal of the entire trip. The kids really enjoyed it as well. Its not a deep dish pizza place, but offers stuff a little more original. I thought it was decent food, but didn't love it as much as my wife. The circle ratings here are all from her. She still talks about this place. And her family is Italian, so they know what they are talking about. Mine is Irish, so don't put much weight in our opinion of food. But I can tell you that they did have a pretty good beer selection!

Great pizza and service

By travelinstylewhynot |

Had a really great dinner here, excellent pizza, ate outside on the boat slip with great views, service was excellent. Recommended.

Great Pizza, Fresh Ingredients, Super Friendly Staff

By Andy K |

Having recently moved to Streeterville I was thrilled to stumble upon Robert's on my way home from breakfast one morning a few week's back. Alsways on the lookout for thin crust pizza here in Chicago I headed over there two nights later to check it out, and I am glad I did. The thin crust pizza is fantastic; a light, airy, and crispy crust, a nice tangy sauce, tasty cheese, in the perfect proportions, cooked to perfection, and pie sliced (I never will understand the whole Chicago square cut). They have quite a few unique combo pizzas, but I am a purist, give me a plain old cheese pizza, maybe add a little pepperoni or sausage, and I am happy as a clam. Talking to others there all of the combinations work, the brussel sprouts and bacon seems to be a popular choice. Then there is the staff, warm, friendly, funny and totally into making their customers feel welcome. I make it a point to get there once a week, and always sit at Natalee's bar. Like me, Robert hails from New York, and he has done a heck of a job bringing a taste of New York to this part of Chicago.

Chicago Marathon trip

Really good crust and nice staff, toppings and sauce were sub par, so pizza was just eh, okay. Not as good as NYC or Italian pizza but close.

Your Search Is Over. Best Pizza in the Midwest ...Smack in the Heart of Chicago

By June101101 |

Hail from the East Coast, West Coast , Italy and anywhere in between? Dog tired of looking for good pizza and salad in Chicago? After all, seriously, how hard is it to get a delicious pie and an awesome salad? It’s not brain surgery but , ahem, from the infinite nondescript pies and salads we have eaten on multiple continents, apparently it ain’t so easy. Folks, I announce the hunt is over in Chicago. We have been diligently taste testing every pizza / salad place in Chicago since June. It’s October now so that’s a monster load of crust and arugula. There are pizza “likers”and pizza hounds in this world. We are in the hounds group. We discovered Robert’s by accident when doing one of our long walks around every inch of Chicago (mostly to walk off all the food we’ve been eating) when we found Robert’s Pizza and Dough Company. It’s a quick walk right off Michigan Ave bridge along the River on the quiet side of a small canal. The walk is lovely but any Uber can get you there in a nano second. You leave the chaos of Mag Mile and transcend into a beautiful location which Robert’s owner selected to showcase his skills. You can eat at tables along the canal or inside with huge stunning views of the water and skyscrapers. The restaurant is immaculate, hip, yet classic. Go , you will see for yourself. Now let’s get to the pizza. It’s ALWAYS about the crust. If you didn’t know that then learn it. Robert’s must have a magical mother yeast pulling his dough together because you could eat that crust naked and enjoy yourself. The world famous Frank Pepe’s on Wooster in CT guards that mother yeast as if it were a Da Vinci painting. I’m betting the owner of Robert’s does the same because his crust is that awesome. We ordered the Funghi pizza WHICH is like a lie detector test. You can’t hide your weaknesses. There’s nothing to hide behind and the ingredients must be top shelf. All true. The cheeses were sublime. The ricotta alone should be worshipped. The expensive, diverse mushrooms were generous and done to perfection. Bravo. We ordered the seasonal salad which was a masterful mix of kabocha squash, shishitto peppers, arugula, pickled red onions and a mustard vinaigrette. People. This salad is worthy of The Best LA restaurant. If you’ve eaten salads in LA, then you know what I am saying. The salad alone will make your head spin right off your body. The flavors and textures were fabulous. Finally, a mustard vinaigrette!!!! Isn’t anyone sick and tired of that boring balsamic concoction you can get on every corner in every restaurant??? This salad was perfection. Ok. Enough babbling. Get out the GPS, find Robert’s Pizza and Dough Company . Get there for lunch or dinner. You will walk away refreshed, happily full and inspired. Do it.

SUPERB OUTDOOR SEATING ON THE WATER! GREAT PIZZA

By Joe M |

OK, first the good and it is really, really good... The outdoor seating area is absolutely awesome on the water. Cannot be beat on a nice day. The Burrata was outstanding and the pizzas were very good. The dough is clearly the secret and we all enjoyed our food. The service was really suspect, from a timing and listening perspective. The waiter was nice enough, but he could not remember to bring drinks or other items and we had to constantly ask and ask and ask for items. In the end, we were charged for some additional bread that we asked for, which is TOTALLY fine... however it did not arrive for 35 minutes and the appetizer it was to go with was long done and buried. Overall, I would recommend this place for sure. Sit outside, but be prepared to wait a bit on the staff. Perhaps they were merely struggling with staffing as we roll out from the pandemic? Difficult to tell as this was our first time there.

BEST VEGAN PIZZA IN CHICAGO!

By Olivia C |

If you’re vegan and you’re in the downtown Chicago area, this pizza restaurant is a MUST! They only have one vegan item in their pizza menu called ‘Vegan’ however, I can honestly say it’s the best pizza I have ever had. It was the best tasting dough; so crispy and thin with a thick crust! The toppings were just packed with vegetables such as mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomatoes, spinach and drizzled with a small amount of oil. It wasn’t like a traditional pizza; no vegan cheese or tomato sauce. HOWEVER, I know this sounds boring and basic but TRUST ME it was the best and most unique tasting pizza ever! Not heavy or greasy, the vegetables were so tasty and cooked amazingly! My mum is a non vegan and she doesn’t like pizza but we shared it and she loved it! The pizzas seem pricey at $25 BUT they are so big that they’re a sharing size pizza. My mum and I were so full after sharing the pizza! So really; it’s a very good price. High quality pizza 100%! The menu is so unique with so many options for meat eaters too! The vibe inside the resturant is great; with a bar and great music, the staff are also so friendly. The view looking out to the river is perfect. Whilst sat at our table we actually met Robert himself! We spoke to him about the history of his restaurant and his pizza recipes and he was such a lovely person! Great to see the work behind this amazing food place and so good to support a local restaurant like that! Please visit! You won’t be disappointed! There was also many good started options! We shared the simple salad and it was so tasty for a salad! It was very fresh and delicious!

incredible place

By KIKO REUS |

Sitting on the terrace next to the river and with good weather is priceless. It is a charming place and has very good and large pizzas. It is important to ask for a table next to the river and not on the upper terrace

Food great, service lousy

By unctheel |

We really enjoyed our drinks, food and the ambiance by the river. The service, however, was very poor. We got our drinks and appetizers fine, meal a bit later, and then never saw our waitress again after 45 minutes. The manager came over to ask us how our meal was, and while we told him the food was good, the service was lousy. He comped us our appetizer, which was nice, but we won’t be going back. We are always good tippers, but this is the first time i can honestly say no tip was deserved.

Tasty thin crust pizza with river views

By Elliott P |

Robert's Pizza and Dough Co. might not be as famous as some other renowned pizza joints in the loop, but its jovial atmosphere, sweeping river views and eclectic menu make this restaurant worth a visit. Steve Dolinsky, a local food critic, recommended Robert's on his Pizza City USA tour, and I can confirm that his recommendation is well merited. The menu has 21 speciality pizzas and a "build your own" option, meaning Robert's offers pretty much every pizza topping combination imaginable. I went for plain cheese (randomly called "The Lia",) and loved it! The crust was crispy, but not charred. The mozzarella was stretchy and light. The tomato sauce was herby and fresh. For some added spice, I recommend the "cup & char" pepperoni, with an intensely peppery flavor. Pizzas here are big enough to share. The prices at Robert's are a bit high, but not outrageous. The dining room soundtrack is hip, cool and fun--think Carly Rae Jepson and One Direction. Again, this restaurant's outdoor patio and indoor window seats afford an absolutely gorgeous vantage point of the Chicago River. (If you're lucky enough to own a yacht, you can sail by the restaurant and pick up a pizza on your journey.) Service here is friendly and quick, and food quality is top-notch. Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to returning very soon.

Great!!!

Very good tasting pizza! Came out piping hot and was very fresh! Mangé!!! My son and I both just dropped in during our visit to Chicago. It will be a memorable experience!

Great Thin Crust Pizza

By ncr1jmj |

The crust is one of the best that I have had, including those pizzas that I ate in Italy. The toppings are top quality and tasty. I'm looking forward to lunch service in the near future.

Amazing pizza in a fantastic location

By LeeTalker |

This restaurant is in a fantastic location next to the river and serves amazing pizza and a good pint of Chicago Lager. I couldn’t sit at a table, so was perched on a rather uncomfortable high seat at the bar but it was a very good pizza and pint nevertheless 😋👍

Best Pizza Ever!!

By Joe M |

We took the Chicago River tour and were looking for lunch when we finished. We saw Robert's and thought we'd give it a try. Wow! Perfect, thin, crisp crust. Outstanding sauce and magnificent pepperoni. Now I wish I lived in Chicago just for Robert's.

Relaxing atmosphere, okay pizza

By Mathew R |

The service and atmosphere are nice and chill, very friendly folks here. I enjoyed the pizza, had the sausage onion and it was tasty, but being from out of town I probably wanted a deep dish more so this wasn't the right choice for me.

Best pizza!!!

By ECoruns |

Best pizza we have ever tasted! The crust is in the perfect point of crunchy and soft, dificult to explain. Fresh vegetables!!!!

Quiet Dining near the Water

By Alicia Ludescher |

Robert's Pizza and Dough Company is in a great location, near Streeterville I'm told. This is a quant area, we felt safe walking in this area in the evening hours. Robert's is a restaurant located off the river in an area where boats can access and dock which I thought was really neat. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and when the weather is nice, they open the large windows to create an outdoor atmosphere for those who choose to sit indoors or at the bar. We sat just inside near these open windows on a nice Friday evening. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the service was quick. I dined with my sister and mom, we shared the Meatballs and a Caesar Salad and The Jay Pizza with some minor customizations. The menu is diverse with options for even the pickiest of eaters. You can even customize your own pizza with toppings and gluten free crust if you don't find an option on their unique menu of offerings. All the food items are fairly priced, and serving sizes were sharable. We all really enjoyed the Meatballs though they did seem to fall apart easily once cut into, but the flavors were well balance with a good texture. The Jay was a bit spicy, but not unbearably so. For a group of three, we dined for just over $120. Robert's only lost a star due to the lack of communication between hostesses regarding our request for outdoor seating. I can see that Robert's also offers a Brunch menu! Who doesn't love Brunch. Would love to try Robert's for brunch in the future. It's a smaller, more limited menu with a Mexican cuisine flare from what I can tell from the descriptions.

Best pizza I've ever had

By cbd222 |

I love everything about this place. The decor is fun and interesting, the staff are warm and welcoming, the drinks are interesting, and I cannot say enough good things about the pizza. I came here with my husband and two adolescent boys, and we all left full and happy. The appetizers were even delicious-- I recommend both the Burrata (melt in your mouth mozzarella!) and the warm olives. We had the Carne pizza (remember the two boys…), and the brussels sprouts and bacon pizzas, and honestly I want to go back so I can try them all! A must visit restaurant!!

Pizza is great, service is too!

By The Martino Guy |

On my second trip to Chicago for yet another trade show in less than three weeks, I needed pizza. Since I was staying at the Embassy Suites, I wanted some place I could walk. Plus, truth be told, despite having an Italian father who was raised in Chicago, we are both not fans of the typical deep dish pie. . . Robert’s popped up on a Yelp/TripAdvisor search. Great reviews. I’m in. I figured it would be a bit slower at 8:15 BUT. . .didn’t realize it was on the waterfront(the outdoor seating). There are 18 seats in the bar but all were full. I simply MUST sit at the bar. Took off and did a quick walk and found the one open chair. Place was SUPER busy for starters. I ordered a cocktail and Katie(more on her later-she’s a rock star) told me and the gal next to me the kitchen was running 45 minutes to an hour.We both ordered the cupping pepperoni pizzas and drinks. The pizza finally came out and, damn, no way I could eat it, nor could my acquaintance eat hers. Nice, fired oven crust, lightly sauced. Cheese was thin mozzarella and the cupping pepperoni was legit. Katie is the Main Event. She’s knowledgable for starters. But she’s super upbeat, and extremely aware of the dining room(her bar) and she works the bar like a Ninja. Totally a keeper here. Didn’t have the outside experience but it looks nice there, too. Food=GREAT, Service=GREAT. Check them out.

Good but average good

By john m m |

Given the effort they put into the labor and ingredients we expected a lot better pizza, especially for the fairly high price. We shared two very different pizzas and both as agreed by all were very average. Setting is just average or even a bit below as well. Really too bad as it was clear they are really trying. Service was very good.

My favorite pizza in Chicago

By KayakingFamily |

Robert's has the best pizza I've had in Chicago. Great service. We love the outside tables on the water at Ogen Slip in the warmer months.

Excellent pizza!

By Twinsmom99 |

Excellent pizza! Dough is light and crunchy. Great location on the water. We love this place. David was a great waiter.

Excellent pizza with fresh ingredients and creative combinations

By Susan P |

The place is relatively small and casual. We went on a Sunday night and got the last table. The beer and wine list are small, but ample. The menu featured an interesting variety of cocktails. The hibiscus margarita was delish. We started with the roasted olives, which were so tasty. We ordered the mushroom pizza, which melted in your mouth, the carne pizza, and the duck pizza, which happened to be one of the special pizzas that night. The owner came over to our table a couple times and gave us the whole explanation of the mushroom pizza and the source of the cheese on the pizza. Also, there was a minor snafu with our order and the server was very apologetic and gave us a complimentary dessert for something that hadn't been much of an issue. We'll definitely go back, but fear the next time, we'll have to wait quite a while for a table once word gets out.

Good pizza, great service

By Nathan C |

We found this pizza place just down from our hotel and we decided to give it a try. Cool 3 level restaurant with several TVs, which was nice since sweet 16 was starting. We have 2 kids, 10 & 12, and they thought it was cool environment too. Great friendly service. Owner even checked in us and wasn't overbearing. Thin crust pizza and we did create own with half cheese, half pep-onion-mushroom. Great simple side salad shared with my wife. I'd definitely eat here again.

Great super thin crust pizza.

By RudySzymon |

My nephew, who is kind of a pizza buff and lives in Europe, told us about this place. Presumably best neapolitan pizza in Chicago. The waiter told us that he was told that this place was the 10th pizza place in the USA and around 50th in the world. I am not an expert. However, I have to admit that we loved it. Remained us of pizzas we had in Italy. The crust is incredibly thin. There are plenty of choices for vegetarians, and I tried vegan pizza. It was very good.

Wonderful

By Aoife C |

Wonderful experience, the best veggie pizza I have ever had. Wonderful & helpful staff from the servers, bar staff & manager, a tiny mistake that happened with our take away pizza was impeccably rectified. An all round fabulous place!

The best pizza in town!

By LisaNeail |

I am on a scholarship to the USA, I am a teacher in the UK. I went to Roberts on recommendation. I am a vegetarian, I wasn't disappointed! The staff are awesome, the beer is great and to top it off the pizza is to die for!!! Please go and visit. It gets busy so try and beat the crowds, book in advance if you can. When I was there a couple from Florida where there.. Their taxi driver had told them they must try it! The pizza dough is lovely.. A secret mix of ingredients unique to Robert and his wife.. They even have a pizza named after their daughter! There is a story in Chicago that a customer who took half their pizza home had a long taxi ride home. The taxi driver didn't want cash and instead had the pizza! As if that's not recommendation enough!! Go and enjoy!

Pizza was just ok, good service

By purplevelvet |

We tried the carne pizza. It was around $20 which seemed sort of expensive for what it was. The beet salad is recommended. I enjoyed the beet salad more than the pizza, which is surprising since pizza is my favorite food. The waiter was nice and prompt. Our seating was a bit cramped, in part because there were 4 people sitting next to us at a table for 2. Limited beer selection. Located in Streeterville so a good location for tourists and people from the neighborhood.

Dinner after beach/Navy pier

Delicious, unique, classic New York Pizza with refreshing awesome beers on tap! Service, location, food - all perfect way to sum up a hot Chicago day.

We love this pizza place!

By Twinsmom99 |

We love this pizza place! So cute and tucked away down by a harbor. The thin crust pizza was excellent. Definitely do not miss this place. Yes, there are other big name Chicago pizza places, but this one is fantastic!

Amazing food & staff

By Jacquelyn S. |

The food is incredible here! The beautiful views of the Chicago river and friendly staff don't hurt either. 5 stars all around!

Bold Statement: Hands down, best pizza on the planet

By Keith S |

Why? Because there's a short lifetime of commitment to the dough. A touch of olive oil gives it the perfect crispness. The ingredients are spectacular. Great sauce. Killer combinations. Amazing beer on tap. Bravo.

AMAZING FOOD!

By Kimberly P |

We stopped in for a family dinner without reservations on a busy Friday night. Robert was there and was able to seat us. He was so nice and attentive. He was running around checking on everyone as much as the servers. The meatballs were delicious and the red sauce was outstanding. We had meatballs (4 per order) as an appetizer and a pizza (half pepperoni half sausage) for dinner. I recommend getting a side of red sauce to dip the pizza crust in. My husband ordered a drink and it was made well and thoroughly enjoyable. It was so nice to have a family dinner that we knew the kids would enjoy while we sat there watching the snow fall. I would recommend reservations as the restaurant is not very large. We hope to make it back without kids so we can try a fancier pizza and enjoy a few more drinks.

Worth the visit

By Guide20608346169 |

We left the Navy Pier and walked about 1/2 mile to Roberts. We sat outdoors with a table by the water. We order a soupressata pizza, the pizza was the perfect size for the two of us and delicious. The pizza here is NOT a deep dish pizza but a thin crust and crunchy. It was excellent and exactly what we were looking for. The waitstaff was very pleasant and attentive. If you are looking for a nice place to eat with a relaxing atmosphere and good food you should give Roberts a visit

Stopped in on a whim. It was great.

By Toroc |

We were walking around looking for a place to eat when we smelled pizza. Stopped in at Roberts and had excellent pizza. My daughter is a vegetarian so Roberts fixed half the pizza to her liking and the other half to ours.

Craft pizza

By Al_D123952 |

The pizza was not the thick Chicago style, but rather a thinner crust baked to perfection in a brick oven. We had their special "carne asada pie"...out of this wolrd! Service was also very good.

Robert's Za is the best!

By Christina |

The fennel pizza is a one-of-a-kind tasty trip into pizza heaven. Our second pie with tomato and spinach was also very good. The sauce is delicious: fresh and light and the dough. . . oh my, the dough is really special in the best way. My mouth is watering as I write this review. We'll be back for sure.

I have not have had pizza

By Fedora The Explorer |

I have not have had pizza this good since I moved to America. I love everything about this restaurant, the lake view and especially the pizza. The only complaint I have is that our table was a wobbly but other than that I am completely satisfied. I would give it a 6/5 if I could.

A must if you are in the area!

By Michael G |

Great service and pizza that explodes with flavor and quality , our first visit , but we will return.

Fantastic thin crust pizza

By ncr1jmj |

The dough is the featured part of this pizza but the innovative toppings are also very good. The location is perfect for a nice meal while looking out on the Ogden Slip.

A diamond in the rough

By Pnut Travel Guidebook |

Well, the pizza was amazing. We had the arugula and prosciutto and it was not only great but so light and flavorful that we were surprised. I think the secret is in the vinaigrette they toss the arugula in. Anyhow as we drove the streets looking for a pizza place to try we stopped in and thoroughly enjoyed our pizza!

Worst restaurant in chicago

By aliciavought |

Extremely horrible experience- had a reservation and waited over an hour - the manager (7/19) was extremely unprofessional and did nothing to try to it right. He laughed in our faces when we expressed our frustrations and had a hard time forming a sentence. He could not offer a simple apology and only made the situation worse:

Superb pizza and great staff.

By Dan U |

Superb pizza, full of lots of flavours. Amazingly friendly staff and really helpful and allergy aware. Would highly recommend, better than a deep dish.

Very good New York thin crust pizza

By Chuck B |

This pizza restaurant rocks! We were greeted at the door with a warm welcome and led to a table. The restaurant is 3 levels, very modern and clean. Every single person we came into contact with was friendly and nice. Attitude free! We enjoyed the apple, hazelnut salad, very delicious! The pizza was very yummy and very authentic New York/Naples style. The prosciutto and arugula were top quality. The crust magnificent, very tasty! You must come here and eat as you will not be disappointed but very pleased. Top notch!!! Well done!!!

Off the beaten track

By Irene M |

We happened across this super restaurant by chance and were delighted we did. All pizzas are freshly made and one is enough for two people We met Robert who told us about the background to his restaurant. One word of caution, toilets are not too near so don't wait.

Our favorite

By Twinsmom99 |

Roberts does not disappoint. We love coming here. Enjoyed the arancini, meatballs, pepperoni pizza, and margarita pizza. Even with the dining restrictions, it was great. Can’t wait to return.

Great Pizza

By Cruiser402203 |

We really enjoyed the duck pizza, very tasty. Great thin crust pizza, crispy on bottom with a slightly sweet flavor. Enjoyed sitting outside near the water.

Satisfied Chicago pizza snob!

By Fran S |

We had a great dinner at Robert's Pizza and Dough Company. It'll be great there in the summer when the deck is open overlooking the Ogden slip to Lake Michigan. The inside decor was cute and our server was great. The warm olives were a great way to start, and we liked three different salads. The main thing, though, was that for a city that prides itself on fabulous deep-dish pizza, Chicago is now home to something different and really delicious!

Great New York Pizza in Chicago

By JenJangles |

This place has only been open a few weeks and they are doing a great job. Our pizza was delicious, the meatball app was delicious too. We weren't served bread and they didn't have Captain Morgan's which seemed weird. But overall it was a nice visit and we would eat here again. Happily.

Looking for local pizza

By SonnyBoy_12 |

Looking for pizza in Chicago on a short weekend. Stopped by Roberts pizza and it was definitely the best choice. The pizza place at the Navy pier had a 45 minute wait so we decided to take the 15 walk off the pier. Robert was very welcoming staff was great, pizza was delicious.

Extra, Extra Special

By amlash |

Robert’s was a stop on our sensational Chicago Pizza Tour - a must for locals and visitors alike. I adore pizza and can eat it 7 days a week. Robert’s pies were extra, extra special with very carefully prepared selections. Plus, a nice riverside location and attentive service.

14" extremely thin pizza for $20 & no water?

By K. Campbell |

We can't go against those who love this kind of pizza (New York style) but, for us, we need something a little more hearty...Giradano's or Lou Malnati's come to mind. Our first and now last visit here was prompted by no water brought to the table. A company policy we think. Forced to buy a bottle of water or a beverage of some sort. We went on a busy warm fall evening. The outdoor patio by the water is very nice, but the service was harried and unfriendly. We left hungry and before we did the waitress asked if we wanted to order another $20 pizza. We were a party of 4 BTW...

Great find!

By Joshua C |

Looked for pizza places near our hotel and found this. Restaurant itself is tiny but cute. Food and drinks were a bit pricy, but delicious!! Our waitress was either new or nervous and was the only bump in our evening. Glad to have finally found some good pizza in Chicago, seeing as we weren't fans of Ginos East or Lou Malnatis.

Love!!

By Kate123456782023 |

We love Robert’s. It’s so easy to order online and pickup. They text you when you place your order and when it’s ready. It was ready about 5 mins early which was perfect. Their pizza never misses.

Oh my was that flippin good pizza

By Kathy D |

In town on the weekend the City reopened - we couldn't get a table, but opted to order from the carry out window. Pizza was so so good. We had 1/2 sausage and 1/2 margherita pizza. Loved every thing about it from the crust to the toppings.

3 1/2 dots = Good

By L H |

Flavorful sauce and crust (very thin, and burnt in places), served only in a 14 inch size. The caramelized onion is really just a cheese pizza with a few strands of onion unfortunately; the roasted veggie is much better loaded. Very nice staff. Open for takeout and delivery.

Love this spot

By travel lover |

Super busy spot for good reason! Highly recommend making a reservation in advance because those who didn’t were waiting for a while or sent away. The pizza, location, and service were all great!

Thin crust... heavenly!

By Amanda R |

We stumbled upon this pizza place while wandering around the streets trying to decide what to have for dinner. I don't like thick pizza and I sure didn't want to donate over an hour of my time just waiting for it. Great ambience, great service, great pizza with interesting and delicious toppings. Try it, you'll like it... I promise!

Expensive and greasy pizza

By Sabrina |

Sorry but... I was excited to try this pizza having heard so many positive things about it. But I will NOT be returning. Phil Vettel - I will no longer believe your reviews. We ordered the thin crust pepperoni for a whopping $23... and it was sooooo greasy as to be unedible. Sooooo disappointing. As a local, I have eaten Pepperoni pizza at countless pizza restaurants in the city but this was, bar none, the greasiest pizza I have ever had served to me. SHAME on you !!! The crust was very good but NOT worth spending $23 to eat crust. I will never return here. And next time, Robert, if you come to the table perhaps introduce yourself so we know who you are and since you must have known from the waitstaff that we were unhappy - after the intro, perhaps ask us why we were not happy. Don't show up like some stranger and ask us how things are going??? ... just a thought if you want to at least provide some customer service. Ate one slice apiece, after we blotted in with lotsa paper napkins just to try and make it edible... and paid up the full amount for the pizza. Really really feel ripped off.

Over priced and bad service

By traveler0339 |

I asked for a side house salad which they confirmed is a small portion (and it was). That was $16. Then my pizza had no flavor so I asked for a little salt or fig jam on the side to add some flavor and without telling me there would be a charge for the jam, it was brought out and I tried it and it was too sweet so didn’t use the small one inch bowl of it. They charged me $2 for that. I feel like they were nickel and diming when we are already spending almost $30 for a pie and $17 a drink. Insane prices. Would never return bc of this.

Special pizza for a special night.

By Mimiinthecity0407 |

Outstanding location a few short blocks from our hotel (Embassy Suites on Columbus). Some of the best pizza I have had. Great ambiance and lots of positive vibes. We had 10 year olds along but didn’t see any other kids.

Best Pizza in the city and I have eaten at them all

By Mary Jo K |

I love pizza and spent the last couple years trying tons of pizza places in Chicago which has MANY excellent pizza places. Roberts Pizza wins hands down. Great crust, interesting toppings and first rate cheese. The seafood pizza is to die for. Best of all they play the blues while you dine. I usually order whatever they have as a special. During the summer the heirloom tomato pizza was amazing. Robert takes pizza to a different level - everything is fresh and flavorful and he will swap out the cheese if you want to tweak your pizza (I am allergic to mozzarella).

Best in my 70 years!

By JV |

This was the best pizza I have ever had in my almost 70 years on this earth and I have ate a lot of pizza! Even my 12 year old granddaughter said it was the best she has ever had! The ambience, wait staff, food everything was excellent. I had the fennel sausage, mushrooms and caramelized onions which made it perfect! The dough was done to a T. I truly have no intention of driving downtown Chicago ever again but if someone will take me, I want to go to Robert's to eat!!!!

Robert's something special in the pizza world!

By UKBlonde |

Flying in for a weekend and a plan to "see some Chicago best places to visit", we signed up for the Pizza Tour. A delayed flight meant we came straight to Robert's with carry-on in tow. I am British, so what do I know about pizza? I know what I like, nay love! Robert talked to the group and shared the story of a New Yorker missing pizza on every corner, or trialing and cooking thousands of pizzas, different recipes, temperatures, and so forth. Robert's Artisan pizza is incredible, my absolute favourite; Fennel Pizza!! Perfect crust, delicious pepperoni, fennel, honey, and of course cheese. The venue is easily walkable and great for celebrations, special events, romantic dinners, and today, brunch. We had the Za bread French toast, out of this world. Reminded me of my Mum's bread and butter pudding from home. The Fennel Pizza was not on the menu, but I asked Robert and he made me one to bring home to D.C. We left Robert's and headed back to the airport, what a way to start and end the trip. I cannot speak more highly of the hostess, staff, the owner of course, and think we will plan a trip to Chicago again to especially to visit Robert's Pizza and Dough Company. A little piece of Heaven next to the river. Thank you!!

Best pizza EVER!

By cbd222 |

This is absolutely the beat pizza I’ve ever had. The pizza crust is chewy and crunchy (how do they DO that??), and the toppings were fantastic. We had the Cup and Char, which was a great take on a pepperoni pizza, and the fennel sausage. Yum!! The cocktails are also unique, absolutely loves the blood orange margarita. And try the espresso martini and coffee gelato for dessert. Highly recommend!!

Great food and service

By Elen |

Stumbled upon this on 4 July and was fantastic. Pizza was delicious and service was great. We were in a hurry and staff accommodated that. Wish we could have taken more time as had good atmosphere too

Amazing find

By Tracey S |

Pizza was amazing...well thought out recipe and such fresh ingredients. I had a coffee with no cafe shot. Plus best meatballs I've ever had. Owner came to our table, such an interesting gentleman. Overall wonderful experience

Hands Down Best Pizza in Chicago

By mhtmfcm |

While Fantastic pizza is commonplace in places like Brooklyn N.Y. Great pie is Chicago is not. But now we finally have world class pizza with the recent opening of Robert's Pizza company. Perfect crust unlimited options for fillers....great service....go now because in the not too distant future the line to wait will be out the door...just like at the top pie shops in Brooklyn.

Architectural river cruise restaurant

By Jackie S |

We went on the architectural boat tour that left out of Navy Pier. This place was an 8 minute walk from where our tour launched. We had the BEST pizza at Robert’s! I love deep dish when in Chicago but wasn’t up to the hour wait for a big fat (fattening) pizza. I had a pepperoni pizza. My sister is a vegan and had a veggie pizza that was loaded with every veggie imaginable. My sister in law is gluten free and said hers was the best GF pizza she’s ever had. We sat outside right on the river. It was perfection!!

Good pizza

By Twinsmom99 |

We usually love this restaurant. We tried the chicken and artichoke pizza - it was missing something. The pepperoni was excellent as usual. The aperol spritz was not good a way too heavy on the aperol. Do love the location though.

Just WOW

By Chris K |

People are beyond nice. Pizza is stellar. What a gem. I hope you all find it this place and in a way...I hope you don't. All class here. Across from Doubletree Hilton on the Magnificent Mile. Be smart. Come here.

Perfect Pizza

By Merlin K |

Possibly the best pizza I have had in the US. Not a Chicago pizza, but possibly even better for that. The base was firm enough to hold the topping without being hard to bite, while the crust had just the right level of charring. Sat at the bar and the servers were friendly without being overbearing. Atmosphere was great. I know someone I met at the hotel was having a 16th birthday party for their kids the day before, but it is also a chill place to hang out for adults as well. Great vibe.

Passed by so many times before

By Greg |

I walked by here so many time and finally decided to walk in. Everyone was super nice, great service. The pizza was delicious. Too much to eat on my own, but brought it home and was good for lunch the next day. I highly recommend it here.

Delicious pizza and nice outdoor seating

By Renate D |

very tasty pizza - New York style (there) and a nice atmosphere right on the river, the only downside is that they close at 10pm, before that they start clearing up. So don't be late.

Great location, good food and drink, let down by poor service

By Deborah C |

Setting, food and drinks were all great but service was very poor. Appetisers and main courses both served at the same time and generally felt rushed through. Tipped at the end but clearly I wasn’t generous enough for the server as she just glared at me and walked off without even a thank you!

Great pizza

By Kimberly M |

The pizza was great. I wish there was more than one size. The tables were very small and close together. Other than that I loved the place. It wasn’t too loud. The server was prompt. I used Open Table to reserve a table. Great place in which I would enjoy to return.

Nice riverfront spot

By IlariaK |

We ate here as part of a pizza tour and returned the next day. The veggie pizza was not as good as the margherita we had the day before, it had a ton of mushrooms and very little of anything else. Great mixed drinks and good beer pn tap. Very cool riverfront patio area. (The $2 extra charge for basil is ABSURD. )

Excellent

By Nancy G |

It's not your typical Chicago style pizza .It was fantastic we had one with chorizo and carmelized onions. The owner Robert came over to us very friendly .highly recommend to stop by many different varieties of pizza and you can build your own

OMG amazing

By Twinsmom99 |

A great pizza place to visit! We had a grilled sausage pizza. It was amazing. Delicious, light crust. Do not miss this place!! Right on the water. Great place!!

OK

By Joseph C |

So many friends have raved about the "authentic" pizza at Robert's. I watched the pizza makers tossing the dough New York style which I thought was very positive. But, I thought our pizza was overcooked and, like every other pizza I have eaten in Chicago, I found it lacking. (Thin crust alone does not make a pizza New York style.) Service was wonderful. The indoor premises are nothing special and utilitarian. Weather permitting the outdoor seating on the river looks inviting.

Quality eats and drinks.

By Michael P |

Saw this place in passing and dropped in without booking. We were accommodated quickly. The pizzas are huge, we almost ordered one each then saw one passing on its way to a customer and went for one! Good quality food, great value. The Beers were superb. Nice location, if you book I guess that you can get seated by the canal. Staff friendly and accommodating. We are veggie and there was ample choice.

A bad crust can ruin a pizza

By cicnavi |

I don't have much more to say about the quality of the food that isn't captured in the title. The crust was too far gone. To the point the the dominant flavor was bitter. Turning the pizza upside down, so that the crust was not the first thing to hit your tongue, helped--but that is a trick in and of itself. Otherwise, it is worth saying that the waitstaff were excellent and the space is nice.

Awesome Pizza!!

By Explorer82247 |

6 of us are in town for the chef of the year competition. We looked around for a restaurant that offer gluten-free pizza and found Robert's Pizza. The pizza was phenomenal and we highly recommend it.

A very good pizza, with quality ingredients

By Arthur H |

This is a very good pizza. We ordered six different pies for our group. Everyone was happy. with every one of them. High-quality ingredients are one key. Plus, the owner really cares about his dough quality, and that shows. I have had better dough in Italy, France and a few places in the U.S. But Roberts Pizza Co. dough is very good.

One of the best thin crust pizza ever had.....

By Kinh N |

We found this Pizza Restaurant while we wait for departing our River Cruise in same area river dock... As I heard, the original best Chicago Pizza were deep, thick, with lot of cheese and tomatoe sauce... that I could not eat much!!! This place had a thin crust salmon pizza, it was so good, great taste! I ever had before!!! This place was bright and clean, their staffs were nice. You can choice to seat inside or outside on river dock. I recommended this place.

Perfect Pizza dinner

By Kylee C |

We came to Robert’s while in Chicago for business. We wanted a nice dinner while walking the city and it exceeded our expectations. We started with calamari and it was cooked perfectly. For our meal we had the Cali Italia pizza and it did not disappoint! We were impressed with the overall service we received as well.

Artichoke, spinach and chicken pizza...who knew?

By Imo A |

Very delicious pizza! I will definitely go back there. Love the food so much and the service was great!

Great Pizza

By Thomas K |

Went here with friends all of us for the first time. Got to say the pizza was outstanding and some of the best I have ever had. The brussel sprouts and the meatballs were equally good. Then there was the service. Probably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Our waiter had no idea about the pizzas, side dishes and especially the wine. What a goofball! It seems as if it was his first day and he had no training. Brought us the wrong bottle of wine, it was good but not the one we ordered. Drank it as we did not want to make a scene. Restaurant was also a bit noisy as well. I'd go back but steer clear of the waiter we had.

Great wood fire pizza

By Jnkol*99 |

Visited for dinner with my family. Sat inside due outdoor area being full- nice location in the river. Sit outside if you can but inside is nice too. Highly recommend the meatballs, delicious and sauce is homemade and flavorful. Also had the charcuterie board. Kids has the lia pizza and we tried the arugula and prosciutto pizza. Will come back next visit!

Excellent pizza

By joeAtraveller |

Very good, thin crust pizza in a nice environment. Food was very good with plenty of interesting pizza choices. Crust and toppings were good. If you are hungry I suppose you could eat one pizza by yourself. Reasonable beer selection. Service was prompt and the pizza came out very quickly, especially compared to some to fhe deep dish spots I have eaten at. Not really much on the menu besides pizza and some appetizers, but if pizza is what you are craving this is a good spot.

You gotta check Robert's out!

By KibbleGR |

From the moment you walk in you feel appreciated. Before we left we were welcomed and spoke with Robert, his wife and 3 other staff members. Entire staff is knowledgable in regard to the menu and points of differentiation. Everyone obviously enjoys their job and believes in their product! Pizza has great flavor and perfect texture! Not an extensive food or drink/beer menu, but what's there is tasty!

Great place

By Ron R |

This place is fantastic. Great service. The pizza and other foods are spot on. We ordered ARTISAN MEATBALLS 5/5 and CARNE pizza 5/5. Excellent beer, wine, and cocktail options.

Yummy pizza

By susiQ6 |

We stopped here after the Chicago River Architecture boat tour. It was nice area to eat and looks like there's outside dining in warm weather. Pizza was delicious!

Great food, great atmosphere.

By MichiganRoadwarrior |

A great location on the Ogden Slip. The restaurant has a cozy vibe with great energy in the winter and what look like rear outdoor seating for warmer weather (we’ve always been in January). The pizza and service are great and the owner is often walking the dining room, talking to guests. Family friendly but also a great atmosphere for adults. Highly recommend!

Beautiful terrace

By Ninni R |

Great pizza and a nice summer terrace to enjoy the fresh air and vibes at the riverwalk. The pizzas are quite expensive?m, but huge so easily shareable 😊 the inside facilities are quite busy so the terrace is perfect during summer! Nice employees

Good Looking Pie

By Deidre P |

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to eat the pizza from Robert’s Pizza & Dough Company due to allergies to Olive’s and Olive Oil….Bummer for me….My family on the other hand devoured the pie….Even the gluten-free dough contained Olive Oil per my call to the establishment….If you have food allergies you to have to call ahead to save yourself a trip to the ER….

SO delicious!

By Trek786527 |

We loved EVERYTHING that we ate and drank for a mid-afternoon lunch. The crust on the pizza is SO good! Fabulous service and very cute atmosphere.

Great to Stuff

By VinnieRoxxx |

We came to Robert's walking around downtown. First I have to say the meatballs were fantastic! My family ordered the 3 cheese and the Arugula Prosciutto pizzas. They were fantastic!!! I also really enjoyed the enviroment, as well as the music! It is a great time

A quality pie!

By John D |

Robert (a New Yorker) makes a quality pizza pie but so do two dozen other place. This one is in our neighborhood so he is the go to place. It is a funky 3 level room with a bar in the bottom. It is small but the atmosphere is fairly lively. We shared the kale/beets salad (very good) and a fennel sausage pizza with caramelized onions.. Crust was perfect. Toppings galore. They also have lots of fancy/schmancy pizzas but I never liked arugula on a pie. How a seafood pizza (roasted clams, calamari, shrimp, fresh mozzarella, garlic, and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil) Pizza, salad and bottle of Gainey chardonnay, including tip $92.

best pizza in town

By Visda G |

this place has the closest pizza to real italian ones in town. we recently moved from europe to chicago and always get disappointed of the quality of pizzas here but this place is different. very crispy dough and solid ingredients. the service is ok but not great and they have the weird system that they advise minimum 18% tip which is too much for it. but we enjoy the pizza and the view by the river.

No free Water

By swapnil |

This place will force you to buy water. $5 for a bottle of water. They don't even offer Tap Water to drink which was really weird. We got roasted olives and Moscow mule to start with. Both were good and pleasant. Then we got Roasted Vegetable Pizza. Crust was tasty and crisp. Vegetables were also sauteed. But overall taste was okay. Note this place is quite busy and if you don't have reservations they will just squeeze at any place comfortable for them. They would not follow any distancing.

Maybe the best pizza in Chicago, and not Chicago style.

By Wallyrandy |

Incredible pizza, cooked perfectly. Thin, crispy dough, but crust is thick in the best way. Had the Fennel pizza, and wow, flavor is huge. Kids loved the Lia.

Delicious Pizza

By JP* |

Great thin crust pizza! Went there after the Jazz show at Winter’s. Service great, side salad fresh, sausage flavorful, outdoor seating available.
