What can I say about this gem that is minutes away from Centennial Olympic Park and GA Tech. The ambiance gives Caribbean Speak Easy vibe. They have a full bar but after several recommendations our table opted for the "Rum Punch" and it did not disappoint! Usually we are two drink people but the punch packs a punch! We ordered shareables for the table. The Crispy Beef Empanadas were light and flavorful. The star was the Sweet Potato French Toast! I am not really sure how to describe it because it was like heaven in your mouth. It comes out warm and even once it cools down it is still delicious! For dinner we ordered the Pork Chop & Creole Gravy and it was so thick and juicy. The Curry Chicken Biscuit was fried perfect. The Spicy Ginger Shrimp was refreshing and was the perfect mix of spicy and sweet. Finally, the Shrimp Etouffee and Grits were creamy and filling. I cannot wait to try for dinner because I hear they have oxtails! Zuri our server was they best. Great recommendations! Oh and you can hear your conversation without screaming over the DJ!!!+++++ Note: Valet available for $20

Nice atmosphere and great staff. The only problem I have was the availability of the food, the were out of a lot of food items. We looked at the menu and decide wha we want to eat, but when we got to the restaurant they were out of a lot of things and our reservation was at 7. So the only issue I had was with the person who orders the food, not ordering enough to get y’all thru until the next order.

11/15/22 Nice ambience, 20s vibe spot. DJs upstairs & downstairs was decent. Upstairs was nice but the unprofessional cocky waitress (hispanic short frame/hair) was trying to steal a tip. Mediocre food & not worth the price. Plenty security. Check bill before you pay for it.

The ambiance is very intimate and relaxing. The service was great. Tracy our waitress was informative, friendly and attentive. The owner was also very friendly. The service was quick. We were a party of 6 so there were many different plates on our table. My party enjoyed the beef patties, oxtails and lamb. I eat primarily a pescatarian diet. The choices for me were somewhat limited. I was disappointed with the buss up shut. The roti was too hard and not enjoyable. For my entree I had the rocksteady salad which was had a very tangy dressing which was a little too intense. The desserts were made in house. My party had the Cheesecake, sorbet, and the rum cake. They were different reflecting different backgrounds but my party enjoyed them. Overall my family enjoyed the restaurant. They are a little pricey for my taste so this restaurant will be for special occasions.

The bartenders at this bar are incompetent and unqualified. I ordered 2 mixed drinks and 2 shots and my total came out to $111. Save your money and don’t come here. The drinks tasted terrible and the bartender did not follow what i specifically asked. They would jot listen to me when I told them the tab was incorrect. One of the djs was mixing very well! Music was good. Although the MC kept talking through every song. Terrible birthday experience, I don’t recommend it

Food was tasty. Atmosphere was a vibe. Bill was ridiculous. Ordered wings, sprite, good enough drink (nonalcholic drink), veggie pasta and pineapple jerk cauliflower and bill was almost $100. They place a gratuity of 20% on your bill. I realized this after I got home which is my issue, but the service was not worth 20%. I'll return, but I will ensure I pay attention to the bill.

It’s amazing that an establishment like this is in business! When did it become a process to put a gratuity on a drink? And the food seemed it was just microwave instead of being cooked!

I live in the neighborhood , my wife and I go here a couple times a month for the great drinks . Food is pricey compared to portions (griot/wings small) . Otherwise its great music and food hands down ! Best music and bartenders in Midtown! The kitchen closes super early which is strange for a business to stop selling its best product. My opinion of course but, its valid if you have people drinking offer a bar menu at least.. The environment is a great vibe and its built well . There is no Hookah which is weird for Atlanta but I would allow vape at least these days. People have to go down a flight of stairs to vape ..silly . Security is more like TSA here and often RUDE ! One guy really asked me for $100 to get into the place because it was last call. Lets be clear I lived in Miami for years and that doesn't happen ..The professional crowd that's there doesn't need police in attendance and who wants the police at a party hanging out ?! Maybe outside but when I see police it doesn't feel like we should be there or its a dangerous place to be in the first place ..I digress ..to the TOP FLIGHT security guards there please stop acting like you are guarding a bank vault and talking reckless to women in dresses. Its just stupid ! to the rest of the staff KUDOS and see you soon !!!

This spot is amazing for a casual grown and sexy vibe type of night for dinner and in the lounge upstairs. The service is greatttt! Malik was incredible helping us out and I look forward to coming back definitely top 5 in Atlanta… 10/10!!!

Great shiek venue. Highly suggested for date night. In house dj plays good music. Great rum punch and bartenders have awesome customer service. The valet staff is excellent. Food season to perfection. Definitely capture every essence of the Carribean.

I went to Rock Steady last night with my BFF and we felt highs and lows, more highs than lows but it is newly opened so maybe they will make adjustments in the future. The positives are that it is a beautiful venue. The decor is absolutely stunning and hats off to Joe Russo and Jacob Thomas the owners. The atmosphere is relaxing, sultry and sexy. The light fixtures are beautiful and like fluffy orbs floating in the air. Loved the employees uniforms, the females tops and leggings are cute and the pattern matches the one that is on the back of the males. Their employees provided wonderful service and are very friendly and engaging; top notch customer service skills (newly opened Sugar Shack could learn a lot from them)! Kudos to the hiring manager in picking some gems for their front line! They have a resident DJ who was not spinning while we were there but had a playlist going that was exceptional! She shared that they have a light night crowd that she dj's for until 2AM. We bobbed our heads the entire time, lol! We ordered wine and Prosecco along with beef patties and Yucca fries and they were both really good- -the patties came with what they called a ginger chutney but it was more like a hot sauce and was really tasty but not a chutney with chunks or pieces of fruit. The Yucca fries were good as well. I will say that the patties were not the typical size, they were 3 mini patties but were still filling. The price point for their menu was a bit high. The patties were $14 and most of the featured entrees were more expensive than warranted. The Jerk Chicken dish was around $30 and most veggie dishes were around $20. I think the Escovitch was close to $40. I get it that you are paying for the food as well as the overall experience but I think the prices could prohibit some from enjoying this venue. Also, their website doesn't provide a menu so you don't have any knowledge of what they offer until you see the menu onsite. On a final note, they charge $5 "service fee" for parking. Typically in Atlanta most restaurants offer free valet. I would think that the higher price point of the menu would constitute offering complimentary parking for guests. All of this being said, I would totally recommend this restaurant because the food, atmosphere and service really are second to none! I will definitely go back in the future!!

I recently visited Rocksteady in Atlanta, Georgia, and I have to say — their smoked buffalo chicken wings completely blew me away! I’ve had wings in many places, but these were on another level. The smoky aroma, the tender meat that falls right off the bone, and the perfectly balanced buffalo flavor made it an experience I’ll never forget. Each bite was packed with flavor — a mix of smoky, spicy, and tangy goodness that left me wanting more. The atmosphere at Rocksteady was stylish and lively, and the staff made me feel right at home. It’s rare to find food that leaves such a lasting impression, but these wings truly did. If you ever find yourself in Atlanta, don’t miss Rocksteady — it’s a taste you’ll remember for life!

The ambiance is nice. The Dj plays a great variety of music. We went to brunch. The crabcakes were so tasty. The French toast was amazing so were the wings. Great customer service. A must see in Atlanta

Horrible customer service, sad to see that when you support black business the ENTIRE staff does not know how to deal with its customers. They might know how to cook but I will never come back to this horrible establishment. After having spend 300 USD they wanted me to leave outside to then charge me 10 usd to get into the club. That is more than I have tipped the waiter. The Managers were unwilling to speak to me at first, however when I insisted 3 Managers decided to all team up against us and made us leave with a bad taste in our mouth. It seems that the owners are satisfied with the overpriced prices and think a place will run itself. I have travelled all around the world and have visited Michelin Star rated restaurants. Never have I ever been treated worse than in this establishment. You could spend your money elsewhere with great customer service. Worst restaurant in the world.

As a first time visitor from Florida I was very impressed (and thankful a local recommended it). Jasmine did a GREAT job explaining everything as well as proving amazing service. The spot had a speakeasy vibe with the music on point throughout the night. The food and drinks were all PERFECT. Drinks I recommend - the Romantic Call, Peach Lemon Drop, the Rock Steady, and Bredda Bredda were all a perfect 10. The food I’d recommend - jerk oxtail sliders, snapper bites, and the crawfish mac and cheese. Thank you for an AMAZING first visit. I look forward to visiting the next time I’m in Atlanta.

Greeted and Seated immediately. Idk until afterwards that they had a rooftop and music upstairs. We only came for the food. I loved the ambience- decor and lighting. A great place for a date. Our server Vaughn was nice and prompt. Menu is limited and prices are kind of steep but to be expected for atlanta. My friend got the beef patties for an appetizers. They were 3 small empanada shaped patties with sauce. The restaurant is a caribbean / afro cuisine. I didn't care for the beef patties. I ordered the jerk chicken meal with plantains, jollof rice and collard greens. My friend ordered the lamb chop entree. Food came promptly and was at the right temperature. Great presentation. The food was delicious. And generous portions. The jerk wasn't spicy at all but the entire meal was flavorful. I didn't see anything on the dessert menu that caught my eye. I tried some of the lamb chop - kind of tough but a nice glaze. My meal was $30 and there's an automatic 20% gratuity. They don't accept cash Overall, I'd return!

This place is amazing with a great vibe! The atmosphere is lively, the music is on point, and the overall experience was fantastic. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good time. Be sure to ask for Arielle—her service was outstanding!

The food, atmosphere and wait staff was all amazing. Live DJ had the music flowing nicely. For a spot just openning up was impressive. We will be back for sure.

I have been spending a lot of my weekends at this spot and I truly do love the way restaurants are changing the concept of food/lounge/kind of club with some great music. For me it’s ingenuity at the highest level. This is one of my new favorite restaurants in ATL at this moment. It’s just a great restaurant but more than just a restaurant because after eating your dinner you can go upstairs and shake that food off with some amazing music. The city of Atlanta is growing to be an amazing city with flavors from all the world. Some of my favorite things to bite, Beef Empanadas, Plantains, shrimp & grits, oxtail fiore and my absolute favorite curry goat. Now the place is made of super great customer service and my countless times there I have always felt super welcome. I would for sure recommend anyone visiting ATL to check Rocksteady out. Did I forget I can walk there so no need to drive or take an Uber, a blessing 🙏🏿😂 Cheers, BN

If you’re looking for a spot in Atlanta that fuses mouth-watering food, electric energy, and top-tier service, Rock Steady Afro-Caribbean needs to be at the top of your list. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles, tantalizing aromas, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. But let’s talk about the star of the night—the food. The oxtails? Absolutely divine. Braised to perfection, tender with a rich, savory gravy that soaked right into the rice and plantains like it was made for your soul. The snapper dish? A masterpiece. Flaky, flavorful, and seasoned just right, it felt like a love letter from the Caribbean wrapped in each bite. Another standout was the snapper filet with veggies. Somehow light and satisfying all at once, this dish hit my belly at just the right spot—comforting without being heavy, flavorful without being overpowering. Every bite was balanced, fresh, and cooked with care. We paired it with a round of their signature cocktails, and let me just say—these drinks were no joke. The mixologists behind the bar are clearly artists in their own right, because every sip packed a punch and kept the party flowing just right. But what really took this experience from great to unforgettable was our waiter, Lamar. This man is the definition of next-level service. Not only did he guide us through the menu like a pro, offering spot-on recommendations (every one of them was a hit), but he also made sure we felt like VIPs from start to finish. After dinner, he didn’t just tell us about the club—he walked us to the front of the line. That’s the kind of touch that makes you feel seen, appreciated, and ready to turn up. And turn up we did! The club atmosphere at Rock Steady is a whole experience on its own. The DJs had the dancefloor jumping with a perfect blend of reggae classics, iconic Atlanta hip hop, Afro beats, and the latest fire tracks like “Gorilla.” The crowd was lively, diverse, and full of good energy. It was a safe, stylish, and fun environment where millennials like us could fully let loose. The party doesn’t stop until 4 AM, so bring your appetite and your stamina. Word to the wise—20% gratuity is included (as it should be), but trust me, Lamar deserves something extra. Slide him some cash and thank me later. He brings the fun, the expertise, and the hospitality that makes Rock Steady unforgettable. This isn’t just a dinner spot—it’s a whole vibe.

So disappointed in the way Rock Steady Atlanta chooses to treat its customers. Charging almost TRIPLE the price for one shot Angel's Envy Rye than any other place I've been in the entire country, including Miami and LA is disgraceful. I chose this establishment to support black business. It's sad they don't think black folks will know any better. Do not go here for drinks unless you ask for a prince list first.

Amazing atmosphere & food. Great spot for a date night or small special occassion dinner. Decor was nice and lighting dim, but not too dark. Certain portions a little small, but everything is flavorful. Started with the griot & pikliz, which is the best I've had here in Atlanta so far. Then we got the beef patties because our food wait was a little longer than expected. I had the snapper with dijon dijon rice, which was full of flavor. Wifey had the jerk chicken with peas & rice, collards, and plantains. She said it was perfect, and that's big with her being Jamaican. Finally for dessert, tried the rum cake on a whim, and it was FANTASTIC. Lounge upstairs had great energy and the DJ didn't miss all night. Drinks STRONG. Valet was $15 if you want that option, but the team was on point.
Wonderful Experience
I came to Atlanta with family and friends to celebrate a couple of birthdays, we booked Rock Steady for our birthday dinner. IT WAS FANTASTIC! The staff was terrific from the valets, the doorman, to the wait staff and servers - they were all attentive, patient, and friendly. Our waitress in particular was stellar. The food was superb; I thought I already had the best snapper, but oh no, Rock Steady cornered the market on the best ever red snapper (crispy on the outside, tender & moist within), perfect rice & peas, with ripe plantains - it was hands down excellent. Everyone in our party raved about the food, my niece said the oxtail pasta was to die for & my daughter chose appetizers (calamari & lamb egg rolls), she said they were delicious and the calamari now ranks at the top of her list for the best calamari she has had. One person in our group was vegan and she left very satisfied. We enjoyed the atmosphere and ambience, the decor is lovely. Our 1 complaint is that it is too dimly lit; all of us (young & old) had to pull out our phones to read the menu, other than that I would give 10 stars if I could. BTW we stepped into the lounge just for a bit, it was a nice intimate vibe and we wished we had time to stay and enjoy it but we had another engagement. Rock Steady I will most certainly be back & I am spreading the word about this awesome gem.
