I enjoyed catching up with a friend who now lives in Seattle. The meal was delightful, the service attentive and the ambiance perfect for catching up with a friend. We shared appetizers (bbq spanish octopus) and desserts(key lime pie and chocolate mousse) and ordered our respective main dishes (rockfish and shell stew for me). Each plate was fresh and well presented and served hot.

We had high expectations for Rockcreek. We were promptly seated at our reservation time. The décor is modern rustic with bare wood tables. Many other guests were seated at the same time so our unfortunate server was in the weeds. Although it took awhile to order drinks and get our wine, the server was very pleasant and helpful. The wine list is limited but reasonably priced. The menu does not feature a lot of local fish. Most of the fish was from California or the southeast. We really enjoyed the tomato burrata salad and spring green salad. The shrimp and grits appetizer was tasty but small. The wahoo was a bit dry that was helped by the grits. Overall, it was good but not great.

Lovely dining experience! Wonderful blend of unexpected flavors! The Hawaiian tombo tuna tartare with a little quail egg was just amazing! The drinks were the best ... from my elderflower cocktail to my husbands can of Montucky! We sampled quite a few of their appetizers and then ordered our main course, a seafood stew. Wish I had a copy of that nights menu to share the amazing dishes we dined on. Their menu changes daily.

This restaurant had it all. Great ambiance, nice menu including unique cocktails. And the service was excellent. So many good choices on the menu led us to share many small plates at our table. Plan ahead as this reservations get booked quickly.

Best Fish Restaurant in town. Great hip restaurant BUT the food!!! Amazing quality and also flavors, the flavors are just amazing.

We had a great meal and experience at Rockcreek. The staff are really friendly and provided helpful guidance on the menu. The oyster selections were very nice, and the rest of the food was delicious. The mussels and the prawns were big highlights! The drink menu and wine list is also wonderful - very substantial and a nice range of price points.

This is an unassuming restaurant in a residential neighbourhood, so the food was a fantastic surprise. Really unusual and interesting dishes, great clam starter. The black cod is not at all like European cod and was spectacularly good. Likewise the rockfish. Definitely worth the trip from downtown. If you are in Seattle, go there!

Amazingly creative delicious food. Service was well coordinated and excellent. The Seared Spanish Mackerel Salad, roasted eggplant, mint, basil, tomatoes, nuoc cham was an excellent starter -- and the Yellowfin tuna entrée was perfectly cooked. The Oven Roasted Barron Point Oysters, toasted fennel, garlic, lemon and pastis butter was sublime! There are many seafood restaurants in Seattle, but this is a cut way above the others.

We were so exited to try this place because of all the very good reviews in different publications. Based on our experience, maybe it was not a good restaurant night, only one dish - Black Cod - out of 5 met expectations. Neither the atmosphere nor the service made up for the sad dishes.

We went there for a business dinner and it was just amazing. We had the mushroom pasta, the yellow fin tuna and the bonemarrow, which were all excellent. In terms of the drinks, the old fashion is probably one of the best in town.

I started with the raw oysters, one of each of the menu. There were 4 and they were all superb. Then I had the mackerel salad. It is not much of a salad, but a fish with some greens and eggplant purée. Exquisite! Then I had the Hamachi in yellow aji. Very good too. Service was excellent (thanks, Brett and Ramon).

I selected this restaurant for one of our family member’s birthday based upon the reviews. I had high expectations about the food and service. After the meal, I was a bit disappointed in the food, pricing and service. Several of the somewhat limited menu items were completely sold out at 6:30PM. Further, the servers were really struggling. They brought us another table’s drinks. After we tried to determine what they actual were, the servers picked them up and served them to another table. Not good! When our drinks finally came, the drinks were given to different people at our table than who ordered them. He was completely clueless and acted indignant when we advised him. Finally, while the fish that was served was first rate, the very small items that were served with the fish were marginal at best and really not much of a meal. Finally, the value of the food and the dinner experience was very low compared to the price. Normally, I would have given this restaurant a “2”, however the quality of the seafood was very good to excellent and thus the “3”. At the end of day, I have had much better dining experiences in Seattle and other cities. I would not come back…..a bit of an expensive disappointment.

We've eaten here twice and love it! Great atmosphere, service and food. Regardless of what we've ordered, is always fresh and full of flavor. And there are so many great seafood items on the menu, you won't even care that they don't serve salmon.

The menu is not extensive but the items on the menu were great. I would recommend the octopus small plate, it has a wonderful smoky flavor to it. Worth a try!

Made a reservation for 4 specifically for Happy Hour. We were 1st party to arrive when restaurant opened at 4p and were seated at a table outside the bar area. Only then did we find out Happy Hour prices only available at bar. Even tho it was their mistake in seating us incorrectly, they said it was now a 45 min wait for the bar and denied us Happy Hour prices. Needless to say we walked ourselves across the street to Le Coin for their Happy Hour and spent over $350 for a fabulous meal with half price oysters and great service! Highly recommend skipping this rude service and heading directly to Le Coin.

This was one of our favorite restaurants for brunch but we have been twice this past month and have left disappointed. The first time we had great service (actually incredible service) but my food was really salty. Sometimes there is an off day in the kitchen so we made a reservation to take my parents for their first visit. Our service was not great and again our food was incredibly salty. I like salt but this was beyond salty. My parents were unable to finish their dishes because of how salty they were. I was quite disappointed because this is a place I dine at frequently but to now have two bad experiences I am not sure we will return.

Subtle and imaginative flavors. Everything from Appetizers to desert was just excellent. Perfect seafood menu with a variety of options, each as tempting as the next. Highly recommended for real foodies.

Very popular with the locals on a Saturday night. Booking advisable, we had to wait for a table for about 20 minutes but could run a bar tab. There is a further dining room upstairs. My starters were oysters "Brock a fella" served with bacon and shallots. An interesting choice. The main course was a monkfish chowder served with sausage and potatoes. It was served on a small plate, was tasty , spicy and delicious. My only problem was that the dish should have been bigger! Our choice of wine for the main course was a bottle of "Cedergreen cellars" 2016 sauvignon blanc (white) which was a good bottle. Dessert was a key lime pie, Graham cracker and cream which in effect is a cheesecake served in a glass. Coffee and a cognac digestive did the trick. Friendly staff and a quality restaurant. Note that there may be a little difficulty for wheelchair users and forget about upstairs.

While a trip out from the downtown area of Seattle, it’s definitely worth the trip. The food was fresh, prepared perfectly, service was good and the restaurant is a nice setting. We had four people and each of us had different types of seafood (amber jack, bronzini, oysters and Salmon (of course)) and they were all delicious. The restaurant is in the Fremont section which would be a 15-20 minute uber/taxi ride out from downtown. If possible, you might want to combine a trip to the area that it’s in and walk around. It’s a nice area to walk around but don’t plan for needing a lot of time.

I don't know how my husband found this place as it is not downtown but just a short ride. Everything was great! Prawns in butter and I had monkfish with mussels. Hubby had the pasta and he loved it too.

Stopped in for dinner about 19:30, wasn't mental busy but a nice crowd. Seated quickly and given menus and left for ages before a drinks order was taken. We only had main courses and there seemed to be a few locals in who where there for the night and got loads of attention, while we didn't. Any only one non-fish dish on the menu, so my other half had that, a lamb ragout, which was very nice but a very small portion. I had the fish stew, which was nice but I was expecting something more if I'm honest. I could have made the stew myself, there was nothing special about it but it was very nice.

Went here on a friends recommendation and it didn’t disappoint. Food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Definitely make reservations in advance though. They get quite busy.

One of the very best seafood restaurants we have enjoyed. Their "small plates" can be described as a full meal. Starting with two wonderful salads for the three of us, we shared three "small plates" that were not only delicious, but plenty to eat. Our server was superb -- very knowledgeable, personable, and wonderful service. The "small plates" menu had a great selection that made choices difficult -- everything looked great. The next time we go to Rock Creek, we will try the "small plates" we had not tried. We highly recommend this great restaurant. We strongly advise reservations.

Fine dining. Very good and fresh fish dishes. The dishes are pure and very tasty. The main plates come without side likes chips or rice.....which was fine for us. Portions are more than enough. Not easy to park the car

Wonderful food, done beautifully in a casual dining restaurant. Service was pleasant, and ambiance is fun, if a bit loud.

OVERVIEW: Strong and memorable fish dishes. Casual, airy seating good for a family dinner, catching up with friends or going out with colleagues. Outdoor patio. Indoor gets fresh air when they open the garage door wall. Strong flavors, casual adult atmosphere and welcoming space make this a good to go in Seattle. SERVICE: Attentive and pleasant PACE OF FOOD: Brisk with no notable gaps between plates FOOD: - FISHES:Had all the fish dishes - each had an outstanding aspect of either texture or brightness of taste - CALAMARI: Not a fan as I bit into a chili and it neutralized the dish TIPS: - Sunglasses: Bring them for patio and if you are near the garage door wall. - Reservations: Required for weekend and holiday weeks. - Parking: Street and neighborhood. Hunt and peck. Try 2 blocks out.

What a fantastic time we had! Our meal was truly representative of the fresh seafood that Seattle is known for. Gorgeous food presentations and the flavor profiles of each dish-remarkable! From exquisite cocktails to delightful desserts and everything in between, we loved it all! The staff was lovely and as a fly fishing woman, I adored the atmosphere and cocktail names! It is a must visit for anyone in Seattle!

Run, run fast as you can to Rockcreek for an amazing meal. We went with a large group and not one person was disappointed with what they ordered. The oysters on the half shell were amazing and completed perfectly by the mignonette. The cauliflower salad had wonderful flavor and an assortment of textures thanks to the farro. The pear salad with walnut vinaigrette was my least favorite dish of the night as it was overly salty but if you happened to get a bite of pear it rounded out perfectly. We also had a small plate of the wild prawns in a brown butter, Serrano sauce with grits. We practically licked the bowl clean. That’s how amazing the sauce was with the perfect amount of kick from the Serrano. We each tried a different fish and everyone inhaled theirs. Mine was the rockfish with the onion jam and pickled leeks. So so delectable. I must figure out hot to pickle leeks on my own. Dinner was finished with four of their dessert. Two desserts stood out as amazing- the s’mores with chocolate mousse and the peak cake. Such a perfect balance of flavors. The wait staff was attentive and helpful and great at pairing wine. The cocktails were also a hit with our crowd- very light and crisp without any cloying sweetness that sometimes comes with citrusy cocktails. I can’t wait to go back .

This restaurant is so good! The plates are intriguing and you will be in trouble on what to select. I've ordered the sturgeon a bit hesitant but the choice was very good. The plate was well prepared and balanced among the various ingredients. Atmosphere is also good and the service is outstanding...although is a bit pricey.

The absolute best brunch!! I came here with some friends and had an amazing experience. We started with the Beignets (which I could seriously eat an entire order of by myself), then I had the Roasted Tomato & Mushroom Scramble. This was one of the best breakfast scrambles I’ve had in a long time. The staff were extremely attentive and the atmosphere was so refreshing. Will be coming here often!

We had an amazing meal!!! Our waitress Esther was great, she guided us through the menu. Food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Do not let the prices scare you, it is so worth it - we actually went to their sister restaurant Flintcreek the next night and were not disappointed there either.

Nice settling for a casually refined meal. The dining room really is comfortable and attractive, and the patio seemed nice from where we were sitting. The food is well executed, but my response to most dishes was "That's nice" vs. "That's great." Hard to recommend specific dishes because the menu changes pretty often, but probably the best of the main courses on our visit was the crispy fried smelt, a dish you don't see very often. The "Kari Out" calamari was more typical of what we had, though. The flavor was just great, and the presentation in a Chinese takeout container was witty, but the dish was done in by a flaw. In this case, the crispy calamari was cut into such small pieces that all you could taste was the batter and the sauce. Moreover, in an otherwise large portion there wasn't that much of it. You'd think a seafood restaurant would have showcased its seafood a bit more proudly. Service could a tad more attentive too for a restaurant at this price point. Specialty cocktails are fine, but the descriptions promise more than the actual drinks deliver. This place delivers way more than a "meh" experience -- there's obvious talent at work at Rock Creek -- but I think I'd seek out other places to try before returning here. Oh, one more little ding from a Scotch drinker: Rock Creek consider itself a little too fancy to serve everyday blended Scotches like Dewar's. So if you just want to unwind with a simple Scotch on the rocks before dinner, don't count on ordering your "usual." They probably won't have it.

First visit to Seattle ( Fremont area) and was very pleasantly surprised. It is located right beside Uneeda burger restaurant and doesn’t look fancy from the outside BUT the menu was extensive and all four of our meals were very good. I had their signature dish a rock fish affair which was excellent. The seafood was by far the best on the menu. They also had a good list of craft beer and wine..the wine was very reasonably priced. Only caution was it’s nosy in the upper section

We had brunch here and fell in love. First off, the atmosphere is really lovely. We made reservations and we're seated immediately even though it was very busy. The coffee was great, and the beignets were insanely delicious. I loved my croque madame and my husband thought his tar pit biscuits and gravy was super good. Overall excellent experience!

Nice to meet friends here for dinner. Sitting upstairs is a little quieter for visiting. Fresh seafood, enjoyed the octopus, mussels, Chilean sea bass (although something on the plate besides large basil leaves would’ve been nice) and the sturgeon - yummy polenta. Corkage is $30 so a little steep, wine selection broad but not to my liking. Total for 4 before tip $260.00.

I'm erring on the plus side. I'd really give this 2 1/2 stars overall. Final meal on a trip to Vancouver/Seattle. It was disappointing. Our Airbnb host recommended this place. It was the only misstep in his recommendations. On the plus side: Some dishes were good -- the oysters were exceptional. The bone marrow was good, as was the cauliflower. The olives were flavorful, and they gave you a lot of them. The rib-eye was good. Key lime pie and s'mores were both good. (loved the smoked meringue on the s'mores) Service was good (with one exception -- see below) Our waitperson knew the menu and answered our questions. She was very personable. We enjoyed our brief discussions with her. So, with all those positive things, why only 2 1/2 stars? On the down side: The place is noisy. Horribly noisy. So noisy we couldn't talk. There was one miscue in service wherein a wrong appetizer was delivered to the table. Not that big a deal, and we accepted that app rather than wait for the correct one. Some dishes were misses: The bbq octopus was charred to black and tasted burnt. The pasta was only so-so. Marinated grilled vegetables were served cold and lacked much flavor. Because they were listed as grilled, I expected them to be hot. Perhaps the menu could specify this. The biggest misstep was the mackerel salad (with eggplant, tomatoes, mint, and fish sauce). Way too many flavors competing, and to my taste, they didn't go together at all. The mackerel itself was tasty, but the whole dish didn't work. Prices are a tad high, but not outrageous. But really, the factor that would prevent my returning: the noise.

Absolutely garbage I personally had Neah Bay Rockfish Shell and Stew...i was NEVER more disappointed in years , there was a couple of small clams 3 shrimp and 2 pieces of small fish and all of this was resting in this cheap red broth that tasted like Campbell Tomato Soup.... Not Kidding...this sauce overpowered everything in the bowl that was fish the kicker is that it costs $35.00 not worth 5 bucks and the service was a joke..no water refills...no alcohol refills...not even" How's Everything "go to a local bar like I did...there fantastic.....cheers

We ate here based on the recommendations of TA reviews. The fish was very creative and absolutely delicious. I wouldn't try to go here without a reservation. And be forewarned, if you are visiting Seattle and staying downtown, allow plenty of time to get here, as the traffic is horrendous at the dinner hour. It took our Lyft driver almost 30 min. to get here, but only 10 min. on the return trip. It was worth the hassle, though!

This restaurant is a $8 to $10 cab ride from the centre of town, but definitely worth the trip out. Make sure you get a reservation, as it it is always busy, with mainly local customers, who obviously know a good restaurant!. The food was great, the wine offerings great and the wait staff were great. We really enjoyed the visit,

Brilliant restaurant. Shout out to the charming, skilful and passionate barman who made us some great cocktails before dinner. The food was nothing short of exceptional, with fantastic service. Thank you!

Call me petty but a small thing can mean a lot. I was in Seattle alone on my birthday. I decided to celebrate here. As a lover of food, I way over ordered to try their different items. I was at a communal table and one of my orders looked so appealing that two other guests ordered it as an additional item to try. When the bill arrived I was not comped the dessert although they were aware of my situation. A simple gesture of a $9 would have made such a difference of how I felt upon leaving the restaurant. A 4+ for food but 2- for making me feel welcome.

This place is a serious cab ride from downtown and there was a screwup on our reservation, probably my fault in confusion provided by open table. Nonetheless we were cheerfully accommodated by the hostess who was expecting us next week. The food: tuna tartare was pleasantly spicy with a quail yolk on top. The bread was excellent sourdough and the avocado butter was superb. The halibut cheeks were “the best fish dish ever” as was the black cod. They also had a superior Chardonnay by the glass from Walla Walla. Dessert- again memorable! The olive oil cake was terrific and the s’mores mousse was crazy good. It’s worth the ride at twice the distance!

Was here with my family, everything was ok, but no safety parking in the area. I will return here soon

This was the first time we've been here! Easy to find and lots of street parking available. Ordered drinks, and my daughter didn't like hers. She was embarrassed to order a new one, but the server was awesome, and told her she wanted to make sure she had whatever she liked, then she brought my daughter a new drink drink! We started with the Wolfbay Oysters from the Totten Inlet. They were absolutely delicious, with a lovely light sweet chili sauce. We also had the seasonal cauliflower salad to split, which was a perfect sized appetizer. My daughter and I each got a main plate entre, I had the Chilean Seabass, which was cooked perfectly and covered in a soy-like broth and topped with mint and Italian parsley. My daughter got the blackened Hawaiian Ono with creamy grits, and ate every0 single bite. We were so happy with the staff, and the food came out timely and hot! We will definitely be coming back, we LOVE Rockcreek!!!

This spot has an amazing menu, creative and excellent food, you can choose small plates to try many offerings or a full meal. Everything was just delicious and good drinks as well.

Excellent food. Oysters and fish are delightful, accompanied by very good wines. The restaurant is 10 minutes away from central Seattle, but via Uber it’s easy to get there. Highly recommended.

The servings here are deceptively large; so don't think a "small plate" is actually small. This trendy restaurant is generally full so make sure to reserve. Parking can also be frustrating; so suggest public transportation. The shrimp and grilled octopus are good. The chef's salad with garlic not so much. The staff are quite nice and know their stuff.

I was very disappointed specially it was birthday. I wanted something nice and different. Selection was limited. Small portion. My cod was really good but for 30 $ I was expecting a meal but it came as a piece of fish with some garnish on top. Very minimal. Small salad with too strong cheese. Couldn’t eat it. Octopus came with olive pure. I hate olives. We order 2 fancy drink that we did not enjoy. Not for me at all. I don’t get it. I won’t go back. I didn’t order a dessert because I couldn’t handle another disappointment.

Had a fun evening with a couple of friends here. My friend is a big oyster fan and totally raved about their selection, I on the other hand not so much an oyster fan. The bread is worth mentioning as it is really quite delightful and you should order some. I enjoyed the heirloom tomato and burrata salad very much and whilst the roasted bone marrow starter was very tasty it didn't excite me! For main i had the black cod, I see mixed reviews on here about that but personally I found mine delicious. All in all Rockcreek is worth a visit if you like your seafood, oh and the cocktails are pretty nice too.

Since we all liked the Kirkland location, we decided to give this location a try. We had a great brunch experience. The service was welcoming, the brunch items were unique but delicious, and it was kid friendly. We liked everything!!

Popped in without a booking and were seated promptly. Busy restaurant with an excellent menu. We decided to share and went for one starter, three side dishes, a main and a pudding. All the food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Our selection really worked well together. If anyone is interested we had: - Heirloom Cauliflower, farro, celery, toasted pine nuts, calabrian chili, white balsamic, pecorino - Crispy Fried Smelt, jalapeno-malt vinegar aioli, dill, lemon, sea salt - Hawaiian Tuna Crudo, sweet onion vinaigrette, bonito-sesame pickles, shiso leaf - Fresh Campanelle Pasta, maitake mushrooms, sage, pine nuts, pecorino, crème fraîche What a lovely spot. Might try to fit in a second visit while we are here. We don't usually go to the same place twice when touring, but this is worth another visit.

Having never been to Seattle it wasn’t easy finding a great place for a family dinner with good quality food and a nice atmosphere so we were thrilled to dine at Rockcreek. Overall good service (although the bar was slow) and excellent meals all round. The server was hugely knowledgeable and helped us make great selections - octopus, branzino and scallops all a highlight. The Carolina prawns were excellent - please add a few more! Great find.

On July 5th, the Monday evening of the holiday weekend, RockCreek Seafood was packed to the rafters. (Literally) It was louder than a Boeing 727. We were led upstairs, not my preferred seating, but it was so busy......I shut up. My reservation was honored, and I was happy for that. Upstairs was also noticeably quieter than the cacophony on the lower level. Servers and bussers were hustling to and fro, running up and down the stairs in fast forward. I was exhausted looking at them. Our incredible server, Caressa, had to administer to every table on the second floor. I was in the restaurant business, and swiveling my head looking at the crowded tables, I had no clue how she was going to do it. Not only was Caressa up to the task, she was engaging, helpful, and charming. Her energy was boundless. Every table was served with the proper pacing, and she took the time to engage with them all. I was astounded. We were a four top, and another person in our party was in the industry. He too was amazed with Caressa's competence and pathos. All the food was great, better than expected. Our Tuna Tartare with horseradish and quail egg was fantastic, my favorite dish of the evening. I wanted two. Petrale Sole with Dungeness crab was my entree and tasted delicious. Portions are huge. On the "hit parade" was the Chilean Seabass, with the crispy shallots adding a great crunch. My wife enjoyed her fish stew, filled with a ton of morsels from the sea. I asked for extra bread, which was some of the best I've had in Seattle. Desserts were good too. This was one of our best meals in Seattle and we shall return, but only if Caressa is our server. She is a treasure.

Let me first say, the food was to die for!!!!!!!!! I am a seafood maniac and love new interesting ways to spin familiar fish dishes. We were a party of three celebrating a small reunion. We had the mussels with bruschetta and an aioli that we ordered twice. We also had the carolinaprawns with grits, outrageously yummy! Ordered twice and Hawaiian tartar ,scrumptious and Hawaiian tomboy tuna that was quite tasty. O Along with two bottles of wine 75$ each and then split Klime pie.... orgasmic!!!! But the reason I will never go to this eatery again was what was said to us at the end of meal. It took a long time between the several orders we ate. One small plate than a delay another small plate etc. You get the picture? So we were there a couple of hours and were told numerous times relax, take your time enjoy your wine,? Dessert? Menus? Coffee.... after we just finished our dessert our service person said manager said you have been here too long and he’s kicking you out and you need to leave!!! What????? Never have I ever been told I was kicked out for being there tooo long! Unbelievable to say the least. We spent well over 300$ not including gratuity to be kicked out!!!! The atmosphere was nonexistent there, noise Leval almost too loud to hear conversation and they put out a tiny25 cent candle at the table when the sun went down. Here is an example of a seattle resteraunt that is tooo big for their bridges and quite ignorant of customer needs and desires. There is a lot to an eatery besides the food. Good luck guys.......

The blending of all the spices and herbs and everything that came together into a most enjoyable dinner and the desert well I can only say it was so good I didn’t wanna stop eating even though I was full. If you like cocktails they do have a very interesting selection of special in house cocktails very enjoyable! Awesome find for our last evening in Seattle.

The folks at Rock Creek show a real genius at mixed drinks, and mixing cocktails with food. Their oyster shooters are non-standard: a dressed oyster accompanied by a min-cocktail, but are excellent and unexpected combinations. The seafood is fresh and delicious.

The quality of the food was excellent and the selection of well-prepared fish dishes numerous. Had some fun with the oyster shooters and the desserts were great. Nice selection of local wines and beers. A bit “interesting” to get here but it’s definitely part of the adventure! Service was knowledgeable and definitely improved as the crowds thinned out. A place to put on the list if visiting Seattle.

I had dinner here a couple of nights ago with a party of 10… The food was incredible. Starters we had the tuna tartare, muscles (with the best broth) Clams, tuna crudo, octopus was fantastic. Main course of Branzino is filleted at your table. Delicious. The black cod for me is the best thing on the menu. Grouper was very good too. They only do a little meat but it was very good. We got the rib eye and cooked just how we liked it. Lacy was out waitress and did an awesome job. Definitely 5 stars!

Have dined there many times since moving to Seattle and have never been disappointed. Pleasant atmosphere, tasty food, always with a twist or surprise that makes it exciting. It is a casual setting with good service and fresh, tase food. Will continue going there as the opportunity arises.

This hip restaurant has great atmosphere and food to match. As someone who lives in the middle of Canada, and loves good seafood this place is a dream. The Inca Pera was also a fabulous cocktail. We were with friends and all of us had something different. I had the black grouper which I loved, and my wife had the scallops which were underwhelming to me. Service was hardly stellar, considering $400 at the end of the meal and please, $6 for bread? Don't get me wrong, it was good bread (and required to mop up the delicious sauces we had left on our plate) but got the feeling we were being taken. If they paid as much attention to the little things as they do the food, it's make a big difference to the experience, especially when you are paying the big bucks.

We were last here two years ago and returned because of our recollection of their sensitive touch with sustainably harvested pristine fresh seafood. Our meal this trip was over-the -top with flavor and interesting interpretations. The Point Judith calamari was served in a Chinese restaurant-style take out box and presented as an oriental salad with a variety of textures and flavors. It is excellent and ample for two to share. My black cod entree was a lesson in umami and unctuousness. Our raw oysters were a wonderful fresh medley of the current offering and our waitstaff was a useful guide. Seafood is still perfectly prepared, but flavor combinations greatly enhance the fresh simplicity of the offerings.

I had these: Calm Cove Oysters Emerald Bay Oysters Fin & Shell Stew Amazing! Enjoyed them so much. The Stew came with great flavours and slight heat that really finishes it well. The fish, clams and mussels were big and fresh. Cooked to the right temperature. Really impressive. Oysters were fresh and juicy. Seriously worth the penny. Enjoy the nice ambience and decorations. Be greeted by friendly and sincere staffs. My first dinner at Seattle and truly enjoyed it. A good wide selection of wines to top it off. Amazing guys! Keep it going.

Excellent food! I tried the rockfish and the ribeye and it was delicious!! It’s a very nice place to spend the evening and they have great service! Totally recommended!!

We are frequent guests at RockCreek since it opened and the food quality, service, and overall experience are always at the highest level. Eric and Christy, thanks for maintaining such a high standard. By the way, FlintCreek, their other restaurant is also a real treat!!.

Although the food was a little slow to arrive, overall the service was excellent. The waitress was very knowledgeable, friendly and great attitude. The food is a bit high priced, but excellent taste and presentation.

The bacon and oysters eggs benedict served on a brioche roll were the best I've ever tasted, perfect for a weekend brunch.

Enjoyed a dinner here recently and I am torn on how to rate them. Ultimately I am giving them 4 stars because their cooking of seafood is excellent but I'm taking away a star for a few other items. This restaurant is a great shellfish and fish restaurant but that's all they have...and I'm not kidding! Well maybe a little but you get my meaning. We went with a party and not everyone wanted fish or shellfish and they have only 3 entrees that do not fall into that category - lamb, beef and pasta. They serve a lot of different kinds of oysters and again, their seafood options are great and they cook them well. Yes, they are expensive but everywhere in Seattle practically is now we've noticed. You can't go out to a nice dinner without dropping at least $120 a person for dinner and that means limited drinks or appetizers, maybe a shared dessert, etc. I put this restaurant in the Daniel Broiler pricing category. They don't have espresso which is surprising at such a high end restaurant, their coffee isn't very good either so what's up with that in Seattle? The key lime dessert is great but could use a better presentation and their beignets are a little overdone and could use a better presentation, they are lacking a bit in the dessert area. The restaurant looks trendy, it has an industrial, open vibe going on. However, it is NOISY, so don't go expecting to hear anyone else in your party. :-) Also, they have a nice private room but the table is too large with the chairs to fit comfortably so the wait staff have a hard time getting around. I would recommend a smaller table with a little more room. It's a great restaurant in a nice neighborhood but good luck finding parking. All in all we will likely return but we will only go with fellow seafood lovers, it's only worth it if you love, love your shellfish/fish and you can afford an expensive meal.

Had a wonderful meal! The food was amazing and received helpful food selection from staff. Can’t wait to come back!

Food options were great although there wasn’t any salmon on the menu. The black cod was amazing and the waiter actually tried to down sell our cocktail choices by explaining the dealers choice options One note - if one is unable to climb stairs they do have an elevator to access the main floor but there is a second floor that can only be accessed by a flight of stairs so when you make your reservation be sure to request main floor seating only

dinner last nite was wonderful. everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Icelandic char, cod, halibut cheeks and blackened yellowtail jack were all special. also had hamachi small plate that was delicious. highly recommend.

You made me look good! I was in Seattle for 24 hours and wanted to find a great seafood restaurant. I turned to TripAdviser and found RockCreek. The staff made the food sing. The passion for the food shined through in the desciptions and recommendations. Everyone walked away saying it was one of the meal ever. If you cannot get a reservation online, call to see if you can get a table.

We had a reservation for 8pm. We were a few minutes early and requested a seat on the patio (that they don't do reservations for). We lucked out and a patio table opened up. We got to sit outside on the lovely patio by the fire pit. The food was amazing. I loved the tuna tartare and cauliflower salad. Plus the desserts where out of this world! The smores and olive oil cake blew my mind!

Enjoyed Wild Carolina Prawns at brunch.. Well blended and rich taste.. for a Northwestern restaurant.. brown butter and garlic ascents elevate your experience.. Tingled my palates and paired well with Rubens.. Great ambience.. excellent staff.. bar is where I go.. Parking scarce.. accessibility is cool.. Look forward returning for dinner..

RockCreek has everything you would expect in a first class restaurant! From arrival at the door to departure, the service is outstanding. The servers are friendly, attentive and helpful in explaining the menu and specialty items, selecting small plates for starters, bringing beverages to the table and making sure that everyone is enjoying the evening. It’s one of our favorite seafood restaurants because the menu is extraordinary, the meals are prepared to perfection and the service is fantastic. We usually meet friends at RockCreek for dinner because it is such an enjoyable evening and superb dining experience!

For Father's Day my family surprised me with a meal at Rockcreek. To say it was excellent would be understatement. Being with my kids and enjoying Rockcreek made it my best day ever.

I was impressed with every dish we ordered — the lightly battered calamari served in a chinese to-go carton with noodles, the gem salad, the pasta bolognese, baked and raw oysters, halibut cheeks, seafood stew, crusty bread with pesto-like butter, steamed clams, olives.... The ingredients and flavors were delicious and had an unusual twist. The small plates are satisfying and able to be shared. The atmosphere is open with wood accents and 2 levels of seating. Reservations, especially for 5+, are recommended. Busy vibe nice for special celebrations, date night or friends, however, may make it difficult to hear or larger parties. There is a separate room available upstairs that would help. I will definitely look forward to returning!

We had a delightful family celebration meal. Really nice menu to suit all tastes in our party. We loved our Caprese Salad with heritage tomatoes and delicious dressing followed by a tasty Bass dish. Our daughter chose lovely wine to enhance the food. Nice attentive service. A super fun evening!

This lively noisy neighborhood spot was absolutely packed for brunch but it was worth the short wait. The beignets are to die for and my son had the game hen with gravy. Everything was just terrific including the service. I tasted the hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict - also great. The rest of the brunch menu looked terrific so we will be back next time we are in Seattle.

Rock Creek was ok. Was expecting fantastic fish and great cocktails. The black cod was fantastic, the rest of the meal, cauliflower, prawns, and smelt were just good. The cocktails were trying too hard and not delivering.

One of the best meals ever. My wife and I had 2 different fishes and both were fantastic. Sorry but I don't remember the names of the fish. Suffice it to say If I had room I would have ordered her dish too. If this restaurant was near us we would be there every week. What a shame.

Rockcreek was recommended to us by family as a great spot near the Fremont neighborhood. We unfortunately were a little disappointed. Of the four dishes we shared, the seared mackerel was excellent, but the rabbit had not been properly prepared as their were cartilage pieces still in the meat, the black caeser salad was overdressed, and the fish stew was overspiced with too much spread on the accompanying grilled bread.

An outstanding out of the way seafood restaurant. Enjoyed the octopus and the ling cod which we cannot get easily in Michigan. Service was great and prices reasonable. Friendly low key atmosphere. Would definitely return. If staying downtown about $15 can or Uber

Really really good seafood. Everything is fresh, their oysters are excellent, service is outstanding.

Jean and I were looking for a seafood restaurant in A Seattle neighborhood setting. We found it at Rock Creek. Food was terrific. Nicely eclectic. we highly recommend it.

I enjoyed the chicken and my husband enjoyed his North Carolina shrimp and grits. My husband said the beet salad was the best ever and he is not a salad lover (the green goddess dressing won his heart. The place has a sort of Japanese aesthetic style. Although it is a bit hard to find (dark night, rain) we loved it.

We started with the tuna tartare and baked oysters. The oysters called for bread to to dipped into the butter sauce. The blackened Pacific Corvina over Delta Grind grits was one of the best seafood we've enjoyed and we tend to order seafood when near the coast. Add the roast corn, a server with knowledge (i.e. what is that fish and what does it taste like?) and a bottle of crisp wine, a perfect dinner

Visited here for a last special meal of our holiday, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was very busy, always a good sign, but a table became available quite quickly. We were then treated to a dining experience of exceptional quality, from the service to the food and drink. Although we had ordered differing items, the serving staff knew exactly who had ordered what, without the need to ask. All dishes were beautifully prepared and presented, and we were allowed sufficient time between courses to allow us to savour the experience. This restaurant was a gem, for the standard of food and service the prices were also very reasonable. This is a restaurant that I can recommend without reservation, if you like good seafood it should certainly be one for you to consider.

We were here for dinner after a college graduation. It was a more casual venue than I expected, but nice, and easy noise levels for conversation. The wine list was not extensive, but had some very nice choices, at reasonable prices. We were surprised and happy to see a GSM! The food was outstanding. It is the primary reason for my rating. I had the yellowfin tuna, which is probably the best tuna meal I have had ever. Maybe top 2. The graduate had the short rib, and was very happy, my wife had a cod dish, which was also outstanding. Whoever the chef was working on June 9, total victory! As an aside, we had to ask them for a special dispensation to go from 4 to 5 at our table, which they were able to do very short notice on a crowded Friday night. Very appreciated. I am in a mobility scooter, the manager personally came out to help with the exterior ADA lift. Looking forward to eating here again!

Four of us had a delightful and memorable meal here last night. Heirloom tomato and burata salad, hamachi and calendar apps were all excellent. Everyone thought their entree was terrific. I had the Black Cod and it was melt in your mouth great. Service was equal to the food. Would go back in a minute!!

Fremont is a cool area to check out if you're in the Seattle area. I also recommend swinging by Rockcreek for delicious eats! We wanted to try out the brunch as I had seen some pretty mouthwatering photos on social media. I knew this place was for me. We stopped by on a sunny afternoon in the fall and sat outside on their deck. The sunshine felt great and the place was hoppin'. We were able to find street parking literally right out front, which I was surprised by. I'm sure it's a hit or miss though. Even though the restaurant was super busy, were able to be seated right away on the patio because of the bees zooming all over. This did not bother us at all. Well, maybe it bothered my mom a bit...but we aren't allergic and it was nice to soak up the rays. I was thankful to sit outside and let the bees join me while brunching. Their brunch menu is out of this world delicious. In fact, I wish I had brought a couple spare stomachs with me, JUST so I could try everything on their menu. I had to start of with the Baller Bloody Mary with a poached prawn. YES! Super tasty bloody. Then I moved on to the Fried Oyster Benedict. Holy cow, this was delicious with great presentation. We also had a delicious breakfast pastry with some fresh berries to share. Service was friendly and found out she is a fellow midwestern gal transplant. Cant' wait to go back!

Four of us shared numerous "small plates" and appetizers. There was a Vietnamese sauce (nuoc cham) over Mackerel (interesting mix), a Colombian dish (aji amarillo peppers), and all sorts of mixtures of ingredients. One of the best meals that I've had, yet reasonable priced. Too bad that I live in Connecticut.

Few restaurants offer variety or know how to select and cook fish well, not to mention in a creative and appetizing way. This restaurant does it all with an amazing variety of fresh, succulently prepared fish that is simply delicious. If I lived in Seattle this would be my go to restaurant. It is therefore too bad that its service is so weak. From forgetting the order, to ill-sequenced presentation at table, to having to ask over and over for the appetizers, the enjoyment of this experience was reduced. Hopefully this was an isolated waiter rather than a poorly managed restaurant.

We were seated at a terrible table near the entrance, when an open table at a more desirable location stayed empty during our dinner. Hostess was not welcoming and food was rushed. We were seated 5 minutes after arriving and check was presented 40 minutes later. Not a great dining experience

We ate here with my son and his significant other (his treat!). We started with raw oysters - I asked whether they had my favorite, Kumamoto oysters, but the server said the Hammersley they did have were as good - she was right; they were delicious. We shared the Point Judith calamari - there were plenty, but they were hidden by a very delicious basil, escarole, radish, onion mix. My wife and I shared the branzino, perfectly cooked (and boned at our table) with eggplant puree, pickled onions. We also had a taste of our son's Fijian Yellowfin Tuna, which was also quite good. A bit noisy, but quite delightful.

My son picked this restaurant given his passion for seafood. It had the most interesting mix of appetizers and small plate seafood options I’ve seen. We had the octopus and mussel small plates which were both incredible. Both entrees were excellent, but overshadowed by the small plates The atmosphere is upbeat and a bit loud. The service was excellent.

Excellent seafood. I recommend the mussels bruschetta and the beignets for dessert. There are so many things on the menu I want to try. I hope we get a chance to back.

What an amazing place! Food was excellent, service was impeccable and the dessert….wowya. Yes, we will be back to try out more menu items. So many to choose from!

We stopped here because we were in the neighborhood and wanted seafood, this place looked interesting. The appetizer was very good and the presentation was really neat. I had the Fijian Ono, and she had the Atlantic Char, both excellent and great presentation. I’ll be back.

We were seated downstairs where it was quite noisy. Food continued to be very good, but the service was lacking. Our waiter was obviously overwhelmed working tables and as a bartender. Two mistakes on our order, at least one of which may be that the server did not hear us properly because of the noise. Several servers attended to us, but they did not seem well coordinated. We probably will not return.

Perhaps I had didn’t have the best dish there, but I didn’t think the food was anything spectacular in comparison to the other seafood restaurants in Seattle. They do have unique dishes such as the Kari Out, and a vast variety of fish that are not in a lot of other restaurants

We arrived earlier, waited for about 20 minutes, decided to cancel our reservation 10 minutes before our reservation. The host’s attitude is just not acceptable. Eating out is not only about food. It’s also the experience.

Family went here after reading reviews. It was a new experience for all of us. We celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary. We each ordered different dishes. It was amazing! We each thought their dish was the best. We also order one each of the desserts. The Key Lime won hands down. Wonderful atmosphere and staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the dishes.

The specialty is the cod. The cod is quite small- crispy on the outside and pure much on the inside. Was expecting it to melt in your mouth on the inside- but instead it was grainy and mushy. Just served in a broth with some greens on top. I’m not a big eater generally. We ordered an appetizer as well and ended up going out to dinner again after!

Our evening at Rockcreek last night was simply fabulous! From the decor to the service to the creative fresh menu everything was outstanding. We had the cauliflower salad and oysters to start and the blackened wahoo was the best dish I’ve eaten in a long time. Desserts were delicious. Highly recommend... we loved it so much were going to to try their other restaurant tonight.

We found this to be a very relaxed atmosphere, with friendly service. The meals were delicious and beautifully presented.prices were reasonable. Would recomend this restaurant for sure.

Really enjoyed the two seafood dishes we had. Both were bursting with flavor. Very efficient service and a small but good choice of wines. Enjoyed the meal a lot.

Started with delicious appetizers of mackerel salad and the octopus. Everyone agreed that the black cod was the best of the bunch when choosing your mains. It tasted very velvety and buttery - incredibly well done!

Came here with my sister and her boyfriend for dinner. It was a little hard to find parking because it was the weekend. In addition to the main level the restaurant has an outdoor seating area and a upper level. We sat in the main level. We ordered several small plates and some entrees. Everything was very good. They have a wide variety of seafood and some of the fish they offer I have not seen at other restaurants.

We didn't have this place on our radar but asked some local friends where to eat dinner...they said this was the go to place. It was our favorite place on our two week trip to Washington. We had two small plates and shared a large plate. Great flavors for every dish we had! I highly recommend this restaurant...reservations are advised!

Great rustic environment. I have some food restrictions, and our waiter / kitchen were extremely accommodating. Food was fresh, flavorful, and different enough to separate it from a “typical” seafood restaurant. While I did not have an alcoholic beverage, the bar menu was very impressive with a wide variety of wines, cocktails, and decent selection of beer. I would absolutely make a return trip.

Food was pretty amazing staff was friendly and olive cake was delicious it’s outside of busy tourist area. It’s a must if you have a car

I fail to see what all the fuss is about. The place was busy, so obviously people like it. However, my experience was mediocre at best. First of all, it was very noisy. Second, it was cold and drafty. Third, the prices were ridiculous, especially in relation to the portion sizes. They even charged $6 for a tiny loaf of bread. Our party of 3 spent nearly $200 for dinner, which included only one glass of wine and no dessert or coffee. I half expected to be charged to use the rest room! The service was reasonable; we did not have the kind of experience commented upon by others. The server told us that vegetables were "mixed in with" the entrees. None of our meals had anything resembling a vegetable in it. The seafood was good but not outstanding. My "stew" did not resemble any stew I have eaten, and it was very spicy. One of my companion's scallops were very tasty, but the portion was very small and included scallops only; no rice or vegetable of any kind. There are many places to get seafood in Seattle; I would not spend my money here again.

My partner and I ate here on a vacation in August and it was our favorite meal in Seattle. We ate on the patio, which was a lovely spot, opened up to the indoors too so you felt like you were at the restaurant with all its ambience not relegated to sad outdoor patio. Drinks were excellent, oysters were excellent, mussels were excellent, bread was excellent.... everything we ate was so tasty. Don't miss this spot if you're in the neighborhood, totally worth it.

I wish I could eat here every single day for the rest of my life. Seriously great seafood, cocktails, and service. Loved our server and host. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Seattle.

My wife and I were visiting Seattle and my sister took us to RockCreek for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere was excellent, modern yet rustic but lots of natural light. Gotta order the Beignets, its one of those staple dishes that everyone gets and you look like a rookie not ordering. All 4 members of our groups got different breakfast entrees but all of us left full and satisfied. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review was our waitress. She was fairly attentive but not helpful. I asked several standard questions about the menu and got odd looks in response. "I dont like whiskey, is there an alternative that this coffee cocktail can be made with?" seemed like a common ask, but blank response, not even a "let me ask the bartender". The rest of the servers seemed well educated and great, but our waitress must have been having an off day. Next time I'm in Seattle I'll be back!

Excellent food and excellent service. A bit off the normal tourist route but well worth the travel time. In fact, neither the hotel bell man nor the cab driver knew of the place. Google maps to the rescue. If you drive there, the entrance is a bit hidden behind a burger shop and does require climbing a few steps to enter. Probably some type of lift/ramp is available but I would advise you to call ahead to determine wheelchair access. As far as food, we had a plate of fresh Church Point and Shigoku raw oysters, Prawns St. Helena, and Pastis oysters. Very good. Would I order the same thing next trip? No. As tasty as was our selection this trip, I would absolutely have explore other items on the menu...except for desert! In fact, I just might go back to RockCreek for another helping of their pear cake. OMG it was so good.

We had a reservation but arrived very early so they accomodated us on the sunny patio for drinks and starters. The main floor area is tiny but I noticed there's an upstairs as well. Happy hour is only in the bar, fyi. The staff are great fun in a casual attentive kind of way. We learned that the menu changes every day and we happened to come on a day that didn't have the scallops that we were looking forward to. Oh, well, there are plenty of other options to choose from. If you like tuna, you will be crazy not to have the tuna. The smelt were kind of bland but were gobbled up because they're breaded in cornmeal and fried and served with aioli; and who isn't going to eat something fried like that. We won't order them again but didn't hate them. The mushroom pasta was fabulous, the steak was a bit gristly, and the desserts were tasty (though it's difficult to share key lime pie served in a small mason jar).

Two couples of which we were one, dined there about a week ago. The sea food was as good or better than any we have had in Seattle; however, there are some negatives. The prices were high and the dining area was very noisy. Parking is primarily street parking and there are very few places to park near the restaurant. It is not a good place for handicapped persons as patrons must go up and down a flight of stairs or ride in a small elevator which also appears to be used to transport trash down to the pickup areas at street level. If none of these things bother you, the sea food is very good.

The ambiance is fresh and relaxing; upscale yet comfortable. The food was impeccable. Thoughtfully plated and presented, and it all tasted great! I recommend dining tapas style and selecting several plates to share.

Really cool location and vibe in the restaurant. Staff was courteous and attentive. The baked oysters were great and honestly the Port Judith calamari might be one of the best calamari dishes I've ever had. Seasonal specials were also lovely. Is it a little noisy when busy, yes but overall a great visit and a gem in Fremont.

In a lively area full of restaurant, the rock creek does not stand out from the outside. When you enter, you discover a simple and neat decoration. You are extremely well welcomed, with the necessary attention but not the « fake » one. Our waitress was exceptional: caring, providing great advise, not invasive The dishes were exceptional: dishes were delicate and perfectly cooked. The herbs and spices were not overwhelming. Wine choice was also fabulous

We had an extraordinary late lunch on Saturday. We tried the selection of oysters, really good. We also had the Chilean Seabass. It’s a must while in Seattle. Service very amicable and they have a nice variety of wines.

RockCreek stands at the perfect intersection of ambience, flavors and service. I managed to get in on the outside patio on a gorgeous late afternoon. The restaurant handles outdoor social distancing in a very safe and efficient manner. Service by Rachel was brilliant throughout, starting with taking my wine by the glass order for a lovely Chateau Ducasse (albeit slightly over-priced). My starter was Tuna Crudo, so fresh that it literally melts in your mouth. Lovely taste, and decent portion for one person (a bit pricey as well). I followed it with a fabulous dish -- the Prawns St. Helena, perfectly cooked and so much flavor "bedded" on a very nice grits base. Having enough room (I thought) for dessert, I finished with a very substantial, delicious key lime pie in a glass. Oh my! How delightful. All told, my experience was fantastic and I can't wait to return for another meal here.

We don't get seafood like this on the East Coast! We had the rockfish and the sole--different than what we're used to, but totally delicious. We ended with the key lime pie--very good. Brennan was an excellent server. We'd definitely be regulars, if we lived in Seattle!!

Rock creek has a laid back vibe with top notch seafood. It has an outside deck and nice inside seating. We sat inside and observed how attentive The staff are to the customers. They are a well oiled machine. They have unique cocktails and my wife and I loved our order. The sea bass was the best I ever had. My wife ordered all the happy hour specials and they were spot on perfect. The s’mores dessert was shared by the 4 of us and it was delicious. I cannot say enough about how great this place was.

We had brunch and were very satisfied! The food presentation was beautiful. I loved the metal and wood design!

Four of us visited this seafood restaurant for dinner at 6:15 p.m. on a weekday and were amazed at how crowded the place already was. Luckily, we had a reservation and were seated immediately upstairs, which offers a more quiet atmosphere than the first level, where the bar is located. Our server came immediately and remained attentive throughout the evening. We were mostly pleased with the service here but thought our server could have offered important details about some of the items selected. For example, the bread offered just after we arrived, which is free at most restaurants, cost $6 per order. And we incorrectly assumed that the superb black cod, which two of our party selected, would have accompaniments. As an afterthought, I asked what would be served with the fish. It turned out that the $30 dish would arrive alone. That information meant that we needed to revisit the menu to order something additional. In this case, we decided on the cauliflower salad ($14) for the table. The portion proved to be small but tasty. Toward the end of the meal, which also included very good fish stew ($29) and mussels ($17), my husband made it a point to ask how much an iced tea refill would cost. It was free. Two of us ordered Key Lime pie ($9) for dessert. It arrived in a glass jar topped by heaps of whipped cream and in no way resembled a slice of pie. Though delicious, this concoction was not what either diner wanted to end the meal. It would have been helpful if the server had explained this dessert’s presentation at the time of the order. i would have given our experience here an excellent rating if our server had given us more details about our orders. Parking is extremely difficult to find near the restaurant. I would recommend the bus or Uber to get here. Otherwise, factor in extra time to search for a parking space.

The food, service, cocktails, and desserts were uniformly great. We had a wonderful waitress who paced the meal perfectly. Westuck to small plates and weren’t disappointed in any of them. The bone marrow, smelt, octopus, tuna tartar, mussel bruschetta, and the prawns were fantastic. And the key lime pie was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Some of the food was very salty, service lacked and was overcharged on 2 items. Black cod is such a great fish, serving it swimming in a pool of fried onions, super salty is really a pity. There are so many great places in Seattle. This is not one of them!

My fingers have been itching to type up this review since that evening I had dinner here a few nights ago so I have every emotion and detail fresh in my mind as it travels through the keyboard and ensure that I deliver a concise and succinct message... Over-hyped, Overpriced and Underwhelming, that's just the food. This is topped by the worse service I've had for a very long time. Wow I did not see it coming especially after a series of wonderful service experience from Lecosho, Shiro, Umi, Pink Door, Reckless Noodles, Bounty Kitchen, Mashawi and other Seattle restaurants (all of them I recommend) with different price points and cuisines but share one thing, good/very good/ excellent service. Ive even mentioned several times to servers I ended up chatting with how impressed I am with the service in Seattle compared to Portland until I got to this point. It was like being back in Portland maybe even worse. If this is generally the kind of service given to customers then that's awful but if this is only given to us or selected customers then that's downright disgusting. My friends are from the Midwest were visiting and I decided to show them around town. Just like me they are world travelers and foodies and wanted to experience what Seattle has to offer. It started with the server coming to our table, no Hi, no Hello, no introduction and simply asking us "What can I get for you?". That just set the tone for the rest of the evening. I was hoping that maybe this was a bad egg. When the dishes came in, they just set the plate on the table not even telling what it is? I even asked what it was at some point to maybe give them a hint but no improvement when the next was served. When you go to these more uppity restaurants, you expect a different level of service. One where they are proud of their product and cant wait to talk about it and even provide recommendations. Not this one, there was no sense of pride in both what they are doing and what they are selling. This place would have gotten 3 stars for me if it weren't for the abysmal customer service. I believe servers in Seattle get minimum wage right? The minimum wage in Seattle is what??? One of the highest in the country which explains why the service in other establishments in Seattle are pretty darn good. So these guys get minimum wage and then they expect a tip? Not from me and not from anyone who does not receive the customer service they deserve. What redeems some restaurants from mediocre food is excellent service unfortunately this was not the case. ON the flipside, what can ruin a really good restaurant with excellent food is bad service which I would rather have because at least you have a happy tummy. We left hungry and in a bad mood. Lets move on with the food. We ordered 5 items and only 1 of them was good and not just good, it was pretty darn good which is what I expected the other dishes to be. The Neah Bay Black cod Provencal was EXCELLENT...light, tasty and melts in your mouth kind of good. The rest were MEH to Me No Like. Crispy Smelt - NOT CRISPY!!! I very seldom eat deep friend and it has to be worth it. This was SOGGY and SALTY. Even the most amateur people in the kitchen can have a passable deep fried dish. This one gets a CAPITAL F (this F can stand for a lot of things if you know what I mean WTF?). Hamachi Tiradito - OK dish Grilled Mackarel - OK dish Octopus - octopus is one of my favorite dishes. This is a simple dish that a lot of Spanish and Mediterranean restaurants have really perfected, not yet in the US and not specially here. It was barely any octopus and a lot of lettuce in a Chinese to go box. Was it an off night? Was it just us? Whatever it was I hope someone pays attention to this incident and find lessons to be learned and create a teaching moment out of it. I wished I could have gone somewhere else that evening but oh well, we charged it to experience and Mastercard . I have no plans to return to this place nor will it get my recommendation. IN fact, I even spoke to the concierge of my hotel and told them about my experience.

One of the most delicious meals I've had in Seattle! We had two kinds of baked oysters on the half shell which were fantastic. The Arctic Char was tender and tasty. The "crust" of the key lime pie in a tiny canning jar was hard to get to, but the taste was good. I'm sure I'll be back to try other interesting foods on the menu.

Had the NZ Black Grouper. Beautifully prepared and served with a slightly tangy sauce, leafy greens and capers. I had to ask for some local sourdough bread so I could mop up the plate. Partner devoured mussels in a crusty bread bowl.

My husband and I ate at Rockcreek our last night in Seattle before our cruise based on reviews for my birthday. We made reservations but got there a little early and they were able to accommodate us. I can’t say enough about our waitress. She was so knowledgeable about the wine and menu and made excellent recommendations plus provided outstanding service. We shared 3 items off the small plate menu...Barron Point Oysters, Prawns and Grits, and Calamari. Each were delicious! We then had the RockCreek S’mores for dessert. Excellent!! The portions were perfect. Parking was a little tough, but worth it!!

Service and food have gone downhill. Food and drink orders were slow to be taken, and even slower to arrive. Staff was unfriendly. Had out-of-town guests with me, and was actually embarrassed to have taken them here.

We had a concert on a Sunday night in the U-district, so I looked for highly-rated restaurants within a reasonable distance. The reviews for this place were all stellar, and the menu looked interesting, so we made reservations for my husband and myself, plus my dad and his wife. My dad's wife is gluten-free and dairy-free, so finding food that she can eat can be difficult. Our server did a great job of pointing out what options fit her dietary needs as-is, and which options the restaurant was able to serve with the gluten and dairy components on the side. The food was top-notch, made with fine ingredients and with excellent flavor combinations. We ordered 4 apps and small plates for the table, and one entree per person, and we were all stuffed by the end of the meal! We also ordered a couple of cocktails, which were smooth and flavorful as well. The service was flawless, the ambience was sophisticated, and the food was scrumptious. Prices are a bit high, but worth it -- we paid $241 including tax and tip for the four of us for dinner. We will be back!

We stopped here for a Saturday brunch based one some reviews I had read in the past. We made a reservation via OpenTable. When we arrived we still had to wait a few minutes for a table. Once we were sat, it probably took over 5 minutes for our server to introduce himself. We ordered the following: - Apple Ricotta Beignets - Very good. Crispy outside, soft inside, and apples and sauce were all very nice. - Crispy Oyster Po’Boy - Too spicy. Oysters were made really well but the hot sauce really interfered with what could’ve been a great po’boy. - Kids Grilled Cheese - Good. They use brioche for the bread which is great but it was cut so thick I couldn’t fit it in my own mouth let alone my kids. The only way they could eat it was ripping it into pieces. - Kids Eggs/Potatoes/Toast - Average. Eggs and bread were OK. Potatoes were well seasoned, but some pieces seemed really burnt that I was surprised they served them. Service didn’t start off well. Took over 5 minutes for our server to introduce himself. When he delivered the coffee, he didn’t provide any sugar so we had to wave down another server to get some. After the food was delivered, the server didn’t check up on us until we were near finished. He was nice enough, but his timing was way off. Not being familiar with the area, I found there to be very limited parking. We parked about 3 or 4 blocks away. Overall, I found the food and service to be well below my expectations. I wouldn’t feel a need to come back based on this first visit. 2.5 out of 5.

Consistently this is one of the best places for seafood in Seattle. Always a great menu with great drinks, good service and excellent recommendations on the food and wine. We love this area of Fremont and its great to see a high-end place like Rockcreek in the area.

High quality food in an unpretentious restaurant. We so enjoyed the golden beet salad and prawns to start. Our entrees, the fin and shell stew and blackened baja yellow tail were excellent in flavor and moisture. We sat in the loft level where you could hear the noise rise up from the guests below. Full page daily menu of food and the other side of all their drinks. Great service. Street parking fairly easy to find. We left very satisfied.

The most spectacular assortment and variety of preparation of seafood ever found. On top of the seafood, the vegetable side dishes are unique and equally delicious. This seafood restaurant is SECOND TO NONE!

All i can say is if u get a chance to be in Seattle fremont neighborhood try to stop by and try roasted oysters .

What a disaster— it’s hard to decide which was worse the “music” or the food — the tuna tartar was gray and as flavorful as its color — the mussels were ok but for Seattle unmemorable and the cauliflower salad was mayonnaise mung —one and done — sorry

If in Seattle and you are looking for seafood, that is not of the traditional type this is the place to go. The exterior of this restaurant is quite deceiving as it is besides a burgher house and setback just off the corner off a main street. Housed in what formerly may have been a two story commercial property, the interior decor is simply warm and welcoming, without being too much in your face. There were three of us for dinner, and so my son and daughter decided to sample a multitude of the small plates being offered, We tried a sampling of several types of the oysters on the recommendation of my son, and they were simply amazing, this from a person who is not a raw fish type. The Barbecued Spanish octopus was tender and full of flavour, and the Point Judith Calamari, just about had us all in awe, as the calamari were tender and the accompanying Asian seasoning just demonstrated that regular seafood sauce doesn't do justice to calamari. The Barron Point clams, were served on a thick slice of lightly grilled sourdough bread covered in a full flavoured white sauce that blended so well with the sourdough and the shelled mussels. We also tried the Hawaiian Tombo Crudo Tuna, but not being a fan of raw fish, my son and daughter enjoyed this dish more than I did. The seasonings and accompanying garnishes were full of flavour and complemented the meal. For desert we all shared the pear cake with calvados ice cream, just to die for. We sampled the Peanut Butter Banana Bomb, which was also very good but somewhat too sweet for our tastes. What made our outing enjoyable was that our server accommodated our request not to have the dishes come all at once. We had time to savour each dish, and to chat while the nest dish was being prepared. Truly a jewel of a resto for those with a good taste for food.

After fighting traffic and driving around looking for a parking spot I was ready for a drink. They make a great Bloody Mary that hit the spot. Prawns and Short rib hash were both great. Worth the stop highly recommend.

We went as a family birthday party and were delighted with our choice. The cocktails were good and well done. We had a number of the small plates as appetizers to share and we loved them. I particularly liked the barbecue octopus, and my wife loved the crispy cauliflower. The monkfish was excellent, however it had a bit too much beans and onions and not quite enough of the fish for my taste, but I was so full by then it was not an issue. The flavor was excellent. The rockfish was very good and super moist! We had the Keylime which was more like a parfait and was excellent.

We arrived for happy hour which evolved into dinner. The bartender helped us to begin and we were then served by many. We enjoyed how everyone helped each other out rather than us having to wait on one person to help us. The food was innovative and delicious. We started out with the hamachi crudo appetizer, so fresh. The mussel bruschetta was tasty, the heirloom cauliflower with farro had a nice kick, the sea bass was moist and flavorful and the rockfish and shell stew was perfect for a cold night. We also had the beignets which was the perfect finish for a superb dinner. What always stands out is of course the food but the service was truly top notch

Family friendly but saw many adult-only tables and couples-only tables. It was definitely loud. Food was delicious and would recommend.

We decided to try a bunch of small plates; calamari, oysters, mackerel, and grilled vegetables. All were great, and left enough room for desert, banana crepe brûlée and s’mores. A couple of signature cocktails, made for perfect dinner. The restaurant is pretty open so it can get loud. We would definitely go back!

Great oyster selection. Shared a selection of appetizers with group of 10. In all dishes you can taste the well balanced seasoning hand of the kitchen staff. Octopus very nicely grilled with excellent bite. Calamari with vegtables to die for. Really great taste and beautiful presentation . Also tuna tartare sparkling fresh and prawn with a perfect bite/ seasoning. As main dish I had the char. Again perfectly seasoned but the large piece of char unfortunately was a bit overdone / dry. Smores was chocolate heaven..

We’re lifelong north westerners and love good seafood. And if you’re hankering for some of the same, look no further than Rock Creek. It won’t be an inexpensive dinner, but it’s one that’s certainly to be memorable. We went there recently for a birthday dinner (mine) and all six of us came away amazed by the quality of the meal. Our strategy was to select a bunch of appetizers and small plates and then partner up 2 by 2 for a main course. This worked great! For starters, we had bone marrow, olives, bread and butter, a couple of orders of prawns, and an order of oysters broc a fella. For mains, we selected a couple of orders of black cod, opah, and finally pasta to share. For desert, we had several orders of Rock Creek s’mores. The seafood was perfectly prepared and very fresh. It’s easy to mess up seafood by overcooking it, but there wasn’t even a hint of this sin in any of our dishes. The opah was expertly seared with the center warm and tender. It was perfect. Ditto with the black cod. Our kids picked up the tab for the meal and didn’t let me know the final tally, but adding in two rounds of drinks and wine, we definitely were north of $600 when we finally walked out the door. A great meal that we’ll all remember.

Most restaurants are really noisy these days, but this neighborhood restaurant is especially so. In so many you almost have to yell to be heard - we are used to this, but we simply could not hear much of what each other said here. While the food was very good and the service was even better, why would we want to pay over $100 per person in this era when even the well off have to be careful how frequently they dine out, all for the privilege of not being able to communicate? Not gonna return unless they add sound dampening. Too many other choices.

Really enjoyed our dinner with friends at RockCreek. Food was excellent and the vibe was very enjoyable. Seafood was fresh as one would expect and dessert was tasty too! Parking is street only, so you may have to park a couple blocks away in the local neighborhood. Worth it.

We had a group of 9 and were seated immediately at a large table upstairs. Great vibe and service. Moderate but fair prices. Lots and lots of seafood, but one of the hits was a non-fish pasta dish. Wine list is comprehensive and lots of wines no one at our table recognized but were excellent. We even shared three tasty desserts. This is a winner.

Impressions: Gluten friendly, converted garage with exposed iron beams and working garage door, has a bar feel, warm and knowledgeable service, fish and seafood are the stars, wine selection acceptable and priced appropriately, moderately priced We found this place after our plane was delayed and our original reservations at a different place had to be abandoned. We were seated quickly. The room is converted from a working garage to a neighborhood bar with an attached kitchen. The garage door opens for access to outside tables. The main dining area is open to the roof with iron beams forming and A Frame with a second level above the prominent first floor bar. The floor is concrete with wood tables and chairs. the walls have wood accents. There were exuberant regulars drinking at the bar and dining making for a loud space. Service was able to answer questions in a confident manor and was friendly. The menu is composed of starters, oysters, small and large plates.mainly of fish and seafood. There are the couple vegetarian and meat dishes available. The dishes we had were delicious. We had the Grilled Norwegian Mackerel, Barbecued Alaskan Octopus, and Icelandic Char. We had a bottle of Riesling which matched well. We will be back in the future.

All pros, no cons. 1. Nice room-casual but cool. 2. Lots of small plates that are perfectly suitable for sharing. There are many to choose from, and they are all inventive and delicious. 3. Great service.

We tried this place for brunch back in April, on a visit to Seattle. Holy moly, this is undoubtedly the best brunch myself and my husband have ever eaten! My hubby's a high end chef, and finding a place that makes good hollandaise is rare, believe me! This is the best hollandaise (second to my hubby's of course! lol), we have ever eaten out. My hubby had the Croque Madame, and I had the Fried Oyster & Bacon Benny....wowzers! To. Die. For. Sooooo goood! The only downside, is we went on the Sunday, which meant we weren't able to go back before we left Seattle!! Bugger! BUT we were just there this weekend and made it our first stop! It did not disappoint in any way, shape or form. The service is impeccable too.....a must try if you're in Seattle! We're planning another trip to Seattle soon, and this time we're gonna go for dinner too! :)

Wow - we were blown away by their menu. Getting right to the hero - the Neah Bay Rockfish was out of this world. I cannot recall having such a fabulous dish, well balanced, light, perfectly cooked. Probably the best fish I've had in years. Hubby had the Neah Bay Black Cod. It was also fabulous - heavy on the basil, but we happen to love fresh basil so we thought it was divine. We had the appetizers: Hamachi Tiradito and the Hawaiian Tombo Tuna Tartare. The Tartare was slightly better than the Hamachi to my taste, a little more traditionally spiced (with wasabi) and delicious. The Hamachi was great, the "cancha frita" was kind of like corn-nuts, and didn't wow me. But still very delicious. We loved the sourdough bread as well - and it came in handy to dip in the Neah Bay Black Cod sauce. Friendly waitstaff, lively atmosphere - the place was packed - good cocktails. We will be back!

We wanted something casual- shorts. But something heavy on seafood. Perfect find. Had the oysters brock-a-fella and calamari “kari-out” early; then fin and shell stew and NeahbBay Cod for main- bam!

Great restaurant, not only the food is delicious, the place is also very nice and unique, the staff is friendly and their drinks scored a 100. We ordered almost all the entrees from the menu and they all where amazing, different flavors but delicious every way. Their Mussle bruschetta is a must, the prawns where great too!!! ..... and don’t leave without trying the chocolate dessert.

We had a very enjoyable experience here - the seafood was fresh and delicious. Loved the oysters on the half shell and the halibut cheeks. The atmosphere and service were also excellent.

Extremely good neighborhood place, specializing in a kind of asian fusion seafood. The fried smelt is unbelievable! Very cool Seattle Fremont vibe.

Amazingly innovative food - loved the mackerel salad (could have used a little more eggplant), but very, very good. We both had the Fijian Ono with Serrano and grits. Excellent dish, although just slightly undercooked. We were warned, but the very thick piece of fish could have benefited from just little more cooking to make it just right. Shared the S’mores dessert — very satisfying. Loved the vibe, albeit very noisy. Perfect place to take our 30-something grandson!

We liked the ambiance of this restaurant tucked in a neighborhood setting just outside of the center of the city. We loved the small plates and just kept ordering different dishes. We tried the Hamachi Crudo, the Manila clams, Oysters Brock-a-Fella and Barbecued Spanish Octopus on the small plate menu and split the whole Branzino on the larger plate menu. Everything was really delicious, seasoned just right with fresh herbs and flavors. The handcrafted cocktails were delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely return.

Drinks, food and service were all excellent. Very nice setting with upstairs/downstairs. Nice lighting and wood framed interior. Have been twice and this place is consistently delicious. Great job Rockcreek!

This is my favorite Seattle restaurant. I try to eat here on any special occasion. I have never been disappointed. They are masters are cooking fish. I always make a reservation so I don’t have to wait.
They Do Brunch!!!!
Seattle takes its brunch seriously, and Rockcreek serves up one of the best in town. I live in the Fremont neighborhood and fell in love with Rockcreek from the moment it opened. From day one it set itself apart as providing incredibly well-balanced seafood dishes that somehow felt comforting. I have shared great dining experiences with friends. I have had many light, solo dinners using heir happy hour menu, Then they added brunch.... I walked up to Rockcreek this morning with a family member. At 11:00 am, we were able to walk in with no reservation and get a seat on the patio. Brunch is served from 9 - 3 pm on Saturday and Sunday. It can get busy, so reservations are highly recommended. **NOTE: From May - September, the last Sunday of each month is Beat Breaks and Pancakes. In addition to their regular menu, they add a pancake menu. They also have a DJ with two turntables. It gets LOUD and fills up quickly with a 20-30 yr old clientele. If this is your scene, remember, they do not take reservations on this one day only. We started our meal with two Bellinis and the citrus salad. My companion was unsure of the salad of citrus fruit, ricotta, almonds, mint. One bite won him over. We then debated between our three favorite dishes: the tar pit, the croque madame, short rib hash. They often run out of the short rib hash; it is usually that good. Today it was available and I quickly put in my order while my companion ordered the tar pit. Short rib hash: As I mentioned, this dish often sells out. The short rib meat is so juicy and flavorful over the potatoes and vegetables with poached eggs and pickled shallots. The flavors, like any good hash, blend and meld together...... Except for today. The meat was dry and the potatoes and veggies undercooked. The dish felt...layered vs blended like a real hash, and the worse part was it was underseasoned. Both I and the man at the neighboring table asked for salt and pepper and it was still underseasoned. I ended up sending it back (and I noticed the man at the other table didn't finish most of his dish). This really surprised me. It just isn't like their kitchen to produce subpar plate, especially on such a popular dish. Everyone is allowed to have a bad day. With apologies, the dish was replaced with my other favorite brunch item, the croque madame. Croque Madame It is hard to find a good croque madame in Seattle. Many restaurants try to get creative with 'deconstructed' or 'beer cheese sauce' or some other unnecessary change. Croque Madame is elegant and simple and perfect just the way it is. Cafe Presse makes a great one, but it doesn't compare to Rockcreek. Today did not disappoint. First, they make their sandwich with brioche bread, each slice a good inch thick. There is just a hint of dijon with a generous portion of shaved ham. I wish there were just a tiny bit more of the delicious bechamel, while the eggs were perfectly sunny side up. They have stayed true to the tradition and still have elevated the dish. My companion ordered our third favorite brunch dish, the tar pit. Tar Pit This dish is elegant comfort food in a big bowl. The base is a big, fluffy, southern biscuit smothered in country gravy, one of the few country gravies that I like in the Seattle area (I lived in the South and know country gravy). They pile on shaved ham and top the ham with two poached eggs then cover everything in hollandaise sauce. It is as rich as it sounds. You may end up with food comatose when you are done but it will be worth it! Drinks, citrus salad, two entrees (short rib removed from bill), tax, and tip = $76 While the short rib did not meet their usual standard, they immediately responded in a positive manner, no attitude. The rest of the meal was spot on and I would still recommend Rockcreek as one of the best brunch places in Seattle.
