The real deal

By Hsteinmiller |

Wow! What an amazing meal! A group of us gathered around a few tables pushed together and we ate a combination of dishes we ordered and dishes our server suggested. OMG, it was unbelievably delicious! Burrata, calamari, carciofi a la Romana (fried artichokes from the Jewish Quarter), carpaccio, and other Roman delights. Our server was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We ate and laughed and had a glorious evening! Definitely worth making a reservation!

I'm a little torn on this review. The flavor of the food was a solid 5. The value was a 2 or 3. When we first sat down we were asked if we wanted sparkling water or still. We should have asked for tap, but it's been a while since we were last in Europe. That would later cost us $7. When we saw the water pitcher sitting just a few feet from our table we knew we had chosen poorly, but we were never offered tap. We were also asked if we wanted bread and of course said yes. That would cost us $3 later. My entre with ravioli was $38, which was awfully expensive for 6 ravioli. My wife's meal we agreed was quite a bit of food for the $38. The quality of the food was very good, but our bill was nearly $100 with no drinks (other than a soda or two), no appetizer and no desert.

If you are there maybe.

Everything is in this restaurant to make it a 4+, But the balance is not there yet. Ambiance is great, so is the menu, but there are several caveats. The restaurant was less than half full, plenty of staff, but I could never find my waiter. Other staff filled in wonderfully, but I had to flag them down. 7 dollars for a few pieces of table bread was ridiculous. No olive oil, balsamic, or butter. I ordered the lasagna. It was beautiful and constructed properly but no flavour. Fettuccine was good as well as the child’s pasta. Very happy they had a children’s menu. Should had been a wonderful experience but too many missteps to denote a one time error.

Best pasta in San Diego and nice atmosphere

We had the Cheese wheel papparadelle. Try it! Best pasta in San Diego in the Gas Lanp district. Maria made our experience even better. And on the top we had a real espresso and tiramissu. 👍

Nice vibe, very good food

We had a meal here I'm putting in the 'very good' category. Friendly service and nice setting, right in the heart of Gaslamp Quarter. Lasagne was 'very good' but was it $30+ good? Not quite.

Rich pasta

Good food, regular service, we were greeted without reservation with large table. Delicious desserts and very rich homemade pasta
