My husband and I had breakfast at Rosalie while staying at the C Baldwin hotel. We ordered the Egg Sandwich and the Italian Toast to share. The Italian Toast is similar to French Toast except it has a generous dollop of marscapone on top. Delicious! Great coffee too!

Great spot to grab a bite to eat, if you valet park they will stamp your ticket for a discount so feel free to valet and come grab a bite for breakfast or dinner before they close and turn into a steakhouse.

Absolutely outstanding culinary adventure. The dishes were all incredibly delicious, the service stellar (thanks Alyssa), and the drinks so very yummy! The pasta was the most delicious and amazing ever! Atmosphere is so eclectic and awesome. Special thanks to Annie Balest, General Manager and Executive Chef, Sasha Grumman for making this an experience to remember in so many ways! ABSOLUTE DELIGHT

I took myself on a solo date here. As a side note, the restaurant is within the C. Baldwin Hotel. The service is great. The waiter I had, Kevin, was very attentive. I sat outdoors but indoors is just as beautiful (and not as hot). I ordered the meatballs as an app and the pepperoni pizza. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and parking is not difficult to find. Though if you visit on Monday-Saturday you will have to either valet or pay for 3-hour parking on the street. Overall, I'd definitely visit again either on a date, with friends, or with family.

We decided to try this new place since it’s owned by a famous chef. Food was so overly salted we decided to skip on dessert. There is better Italian food out there where you don’t have to taste the entire ocean. Service is good. If they can control the salt content on the food, then it will be good.

Three of us went to Rosalie for a birthday celebration and enjoyed it very much. This was the first time any of us had been there and thought the renovation of the hotel and the design of the restaurant were both very well done. We especially liked the way the restaurant seemed to snake around the large pizza oven making the seating areas more intimate. We opted to eat family style, sharing all of the dishes. We started with the calamari and the Italian salad. The salad was OK, but the calamari was excellent...coming close to my favorite calamari dish in town at Little Pappas. It was crisp with a nice mix of rings and small squid with tentacles. Next we split the margarita pizza. This is one of the better pizzas in town with a crisp crust topped with good sauce and cheese. The basil was fresh and flavorful, but the pizza would be improved if they doubled the amount of basil provided. My favorite dish was the blue crab ravioli which was sensational! All three of us loved it. The crab was plentiful and the flavors really complimented it. The surprise dish of the night was the Thursday night special, an Italian stew with a rich meaty sauce...good enough to make us want to plan our next outing to Rosalie on a Thursday and order it again. The evening was relaxed and service was good. We hope to go again soon to try more of their options.

Super cute, the environment is nice and cozy for a nice dinner. Came here her my friends and we all loved it

I’ve been to the C Baldwin hotel for business meetings multiple times… how come I had never had a meal at Rosalie??!! Well, today we had a fantastic lunch here. The food was amazing, really amazing. My partner had the Shrimp Scampi and I had the Lasagna, both cooked to perfection. The rest of the party had pizza, also a hit! The restaurant’s decor takes you back to the 1960s with great taste. It is a cozy, relaxed restaurant perfect for casual business meals. Not too loud, just perfect to enjoy the conversation.

Rosalie is located inside the Baldwin Curio hotel by Hilton. Its a smallish, nook filled room with quirky retro decorating style and a relaxed vibe. The pastas are all excellent a cooked alongside simple, tasty ingredients. The menu choice is not huge. The burrata was pretty standard but pretty tasty. Requesting extra toasted focaccia is a good idea. The risotto balls - kind of an italian fried mac n cheese - are really tasty. Sharing them is not fun. ‘Shells and Clams’ and strozzapreti were both very tasty. The hanger steak however was cooked a little beyond ‘medium’. The grilled cherry tomatoes which accompanied the steak, were mixed with some very, very spicer pepper. Every 3rd or 4th mouthful was eye watering which seemed more ‘cantina’ than ‘trattoria’, a bit unusual. The soft serve ice cream with warm apple pastry was delicious. Proderi Marini wine was outstanding. Overall recommended.

Wrote review details on hotel trip advisor everything was wonderful. Thank you for the accommodation’s and speed of service

The best thing about our meal was our cocktail, Dalai Mama. It was very delicious and only slightly sweet. I had high hopes for the food but……🙁 I began with a Caesar salad. There was so much dressing on it the lettuce was barely crisp. Or maybe they dumped on a lot to hide the fact that the lettuce was barely crisp. Either way, it was an expensive side salad that I would not recommend. I couldn’t decide what to order so I asked for a small sample of the garlic “white” sauce and spicy red sauce for the pasta with clams. They were both very salty. I couldn’t imagine eating a whole pasta dish with either of them. Even my hubby, who LOVES salt, said they were salty. So we both ordered the rigatoni with the wild bison ragu. It didn’t seem there was any seasoning in the sauce. There was sufficient meat, but very little flavor. Not at all what I was expecting from a Chef who won a Top Chef competition. Extremely bland and unremarkable. The table next to us ordered the clam dish with the spicy red sauce. They both sent it back for something else because they didn’t like it. The ambiance was nice and our waitress was decent. The food is severely lacking and it’s a small menu. I do NOT recommend eating here.

Updated review to previous review: Went here for a dinner before a downtown event. Just going to throw up a simple review. Good: Arancini, so good! Came out fast and hot. Bad: Everyone's pizza was lukewarm and the cheese on the Italian salad was rubbery. Ugly: Service was absolute garbage. The people who ordered their drinks last received their drinks first (10 min wait) and took an additional 10 minutes to get the rest of the party's drinks. He hardly checked on us and was super smug. Literally threw the check down with a 20% auto gratuity and ran off. Later told us he could not split the bill. It was only 6 people (3 couples) and an app, 2 cocktails, and pizza and salad each, not complex. I've been a server, the micros/aloha systems easily can get this done. I work in the Allen center and I will never return and ensure my coworkers do not go here either.

Great spot for a nice, but still low key dinner. Great, inventive selection of cocktails, solid menu, and fantastic desserts. We were most impressed with the squash ravioli with balsamic. One note: we had reservations, and they initially sat us for dinner in the bar area. While the bar area may be awesome for a drink, the casual lower-to-ground, deep back cushion-y chairs are not suitable for dining. May just be my opinion, but If you get sat there for dinner, I recommend that you ask to sit in the main dining area.

Kayla had great service ! Very kind and friendly she works at high level at lobby bar ! Ever staying at Baldwin come see her!

Rosalie was a big let down, my husband and I stayed at the Baldwin hotel for our anniversary and decided to have our dinner at this restaurant since it was convenient. My husband ordered from the HRW menu and I just ordered the ravioli. To start off we ordered cocktails that took almost 30min to come in which was crazy considering we were there early and there was only another table. For appetizer my husband ordered was the squash blossom, it was actually good, then our meal went downhill, it took a long time for our mains to come, my husband got the milanesa and it was very bland, my ravioli were ok, nothing special. We ordered the tiramisu for desert and it was a big piece but it lacked coffee flavor, and it had chocolate chips which ruined it for me. Our server tried hard but I was disappointed that when we complained she only said she would pass the message to the chef.

Kayla at the bar was very nice & hospitable. She was knowledgeable about the selection and the area to recommend close locations.

The Google phone maps (on Android) shows this a short walk from the art show at the historical park, but it fails to show that the restaurant is inside the Baldwin hotel. A little confusing, but we found it. This is an attractive restaurant that has interesting decor, a nice bar at the front, a great pizza oven, and a small dining area at the rear. The wait staff is friendly, the food is good and the prices appropriate for a hotel property. We enjoyed the experience and would consider returning. See the hotel photos below.

Not a lot open late in downtown Houston, in the business district. This one is open till 10, so it was pretty much our only option for a late dinner. We got there around 9:15. Ordered a mushroom pizza and a Caesar salad. Both were very nice. Service was decent. More items on the wine list than on the food menu. Got a decent glass of Italian wine. It was busy enough that you could tell it was the only place still open in the area.

I was expecting a middlingly, reasonable dinner for a hotel restaurant, but the food is amazing. Highly recommend.

I came here Monday night at Rosalie. I have worked many years in the hospitality industry, and I currently work with the Landry’s company. I had Rita as a server tonight at Rosalie and she made my experience one of a kind. I came here with many expectations but she took the reigns and guided me through the menu in ways I would not expect. She took my groups preferences and took us on an adventure I would expect in an Italian soul kitchen. I was never left wanting and every aspect of service was perfect. It was clear it was busy but she made it feel as if we were the only people in the restaurant. I highly recommend Rosalie and all they have to offer. It is Houston’s best hidden Italian spot, and don’t forget to ask for Rita!

we came here for a business lunch. Everything was top-notch. Great ambiance. Attentive wait staff. Reasonably priced great food. Can't go wrong here

Visited for a business lunch as our offices are a walking distance. Interesting menu… like a light snack and not lunch Pizza Sandwiches I order chicken breast and didn’t expect to have it in a sandwich Brest was a bit dry and without taste

The food was delish. The branzino comes on a bed od mushrooms and arugula to die for. My favorite was the cannoli and the soft serve vanilla which I ordered with blueberry compote. Our server Savannah was awesome...super knowlwdgeable about the food and super efficient and sweet.

I work in the building right next to the C. Baldwin that houses Rosalie. From all the buzz and marketing around it, I really was expecting some great things from this place. Unfortunately it didn't even meet my expectations. The ambiance is great. It is kind of hard to describe but it's kind of a blend of 50's antique, country chic. I think. Maybe I'm confused, but I liked it. The place is kind of small, not many tables. The service has been hit or miss on my two visits. One time the server was no where to be found and the other visit they were always present and drinks filled. The food is okay. This is where they fell flat on their face. The meatballs decent. The several salads my group tried okay. Pizza was good and about the only "good" deal on the menu. I understand it is downtown, but it is kind of a pricey. Will I be back? Not on my own accord. I'm sure I'll be brought here on a work lunch in the near future. If things change, better or worse I'll update the review.

I checked in at the hotel on Sunday morning around 5am and being in downtown on a Sunday - one should note that its pretty much a ghost town. So if you had plans to go out and discover food places you're out of luck and stuck with the in-house restaurant. In my case I was in lucky as I discovered Rosalie at the hotel. I went in for breakfast and was surprised with the simple menu which when served was surely over the top as is the case for the 'Italian toast' I ordered. That was amazing (but very sweet). The restaurant is nicely decked and layout is functional. I went back at night for dinner and it was busy. I was dining by myself and was placed on the semi-sofa and table. (not my liking and not comfortable - be sure to use the pillow behind your back for support) I understood that I was dining alone and tables were assigned to parties of 2 and more. So in that regard they should consider changing out the semi-lounge seats for functional since they are placing persons there as well to dine. My server was fantastic as she seems like she's the life of Rosalie. When you see her, you'll know. She was great with suggestions and made me a really cool drink that wasn't on the menu after I explained I had a headache and was mildly upset. Overall my experience dining at Rosalie was good. It was convenient at the hotel and customer service was great. I'd recommend anyone staying there to dine in.

Their “Exquisite Easter Sunday Feast” was truly an unforgettable experience: The dishes were either really good or really not so good, and we all laughed about the disparity trying to make the best of a bad $500 experience. Our server “Jack” greeted us by announcing they were out of Bloody Marys (one of the four beverage choices on the “Exquisite Menu”). It later transpired they were also out of the honey yogurt dip for the Fruit Platter, Hash Browns (one of the three vegetable offerings) and Carrot Cake and Chocolate Easter Eggs (two of the three Dessert offerings) and (you can’t make this up) Coffee. Substitutions were available: Flavorless Baked Potatoes with no butter or sour cream for the Hash Browns (they must have brought 18 or so to our table of seven – We all wondered how they could have potatoes but not Hash Browns), store-bought (frozen then thawed?) Key Lime Cheesecake for the Carrot Cake, Chocolate Cake for the Easter Eggs and Espresso for the Coffee. Pastries, salads and vegetables provided were fresh and well prepared. The Chocolate Cake was good. One family member quipped “Rosalie should give up on Shrimp and Grits and send out to First Watch instead”, but another family member was satisfied with them. The Quiche Lorraine, another store-bought item, was the “lowlight” of the gastronomic experience, consisting of three small (about half the size of a cupcake liner) overcooked flavorless pieces. Catsup improved the potatoes and quiche. Jack, a good server, tried to make the best of it, but service was slow because the kitchen had trouble getting the food out. You wonder how the marketing people who developed the Easter website blurb (Surprise – It’s been taken down, and the Mother’s Day blurb is more reserved) and Rosalie management can sleep at night. Note that I sent a draft of this review to Rosalie on 01 APR, and they haven’t responded to date. Needless to say, I’m disputing the $500 charge, hoping they don’t reduce Jack’s tip in the process.
Great food and Excellent Service
A very good restaurant on site at C. Baldwin Hotel. Great food and an amazing staff. Cannot wait to return.
