Hadn’t been in many years and then a friend recommended as their favorite Mexican food in town. We had dinner there last night and I don’t disagree. We shared the guacamole and a vegetarian enchilada platter and both delicious. The warm tortilla bar was excellent as were chips and salsa - we’ll be back!

We try to stop by Rosita's when we visit Seattle (Usually 3-4 times a year). We love the food and the servers are usually very attentive. During the dinner hours you are able to eat fresh made tortillas with butter and/or salsa for free - tips are voluntary. There is a parking lot available so that you don't have to pay for parking. The food has always been delicious and the portions are large.

We've eaten Mexican all over the world in the last 20 years (except Mexico) and this is the best all-round ever. Our kids are grown and they still love it! Just off Seattle's Green Lake, you can walk the 3-mile lake (great people watching) and then enjoy a great meal with fast service. The Margaritas are excellent (try the Grand), the chips are homemade, hot and yummy with the best green salsa (verde) ever (we actually tried to buy a jar from them once). Fresh hot tortillas off the grill are available gratis while you wait-but your meal won't be long (tips appreciated). The restaurant has a family-friendly side and a bar-dinner side. Then, for dinner, go in hungry! Our favorites include the mole, not to mention amazing sizzling fajitas, carne asada (melts in your mouth), and the chimichangas (crusty and spicy). The standards like burritos and tacos are also great. Most dishes come with beans and rice. Desserts are good and the final mint chocolates that come with the check and family favorites. Finally, if it's your birthday, the staff (some have been there for 20 years) come sing!

Rosita's Mexican Grill is the best! Great Mexican food! Good location! Nice view! Great cocktails! Nice staff! Good service!

I love the servers at Rosita's they have become like friends. The food is fabulous and the prices are what you would expect for great food. The guacamole and pico is the best I have tasted and the tortilla station is a lot of fun. We come here for a lot of our celebration dinners.

We had a great meal at Rosita's - the best Mexican food we've had in a U.S. restaurant. My husband had a grilled shrimp dish and I had chicken - both were fresh and flavorful beyond any expectation we had going in. There's parking close by and the restaurant was attractive and comfortable. Our only regret is there isn't a Rosita's in our area.

Their salsa is amazing. They can veganize some menu options. Free corn tortillas in the evenings! The service was very attentive. Will be back for sure.

Rosita's was a recomendation from a nearby business (thanks Fisheries!) We were looking for a quick bite and a good drink. At Rosita's, we found both. Seating service was prompt. We opted for the bar. We were immediately served water, fresh chips and salsa. The salsa was especially good. At the suggestion of our waiter, my wife got the "Jalapeno Splash" margarita. It's muddled with thin slices of the pepper and cilantro. Very refreshing, very good. I opted for a soft drink, as I was driving, but I was eyeing the tequila selection on the bar, which was extensively stocked. It will be a target on our next visit. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu, Fish Tacos and Hard Shell Tacos, and had one each when they arrived. Made with the restaurant's home made tortillas, they were very tasty. We were impressed with the cleanliness, the speed and quality of the service, and delicious drinks and food items. We thought the listed prices of the offered items were very reasonable. We look forward to having more time (and a designated driver) to sample more of Rosita's fare. If you find yourself in North Seattle, seek out this location on the east side of Green Lake. You'll be glad you did!

We stopped here for lunch while visiting and were happy we did. We started with a small Nacho with chicken. It was a great size for two and was delicious. I had the combo plate with the Avocado Tostado and Enchilada Roja w/Verde sauce and shredded beef. The waiter recommended the shredded beef and it was cooked perfectly. The verde sauce was flavorful, but not too spicy! The tostada had to wait till I got home, since it was too much food - made a great dinner. The waiter stopped by at perfect intervals, so we got drink refills and everything we needed at the right time. I would go here again to try other items on the menu.

Real Mexican ambiance with real Mexican food. Very cozy. Service is fast. Food is great, no matter what you select from the menu. Easy and free parking for guests. Portions are big.

My wife and I have been here many times over the years and they never disappoint. Always friendly and fast. I have literally ordered and been served within 10 minutes. Expresso burrito, carne asada, nachos, all are excellent. They also have great margaritas as well as happy hour deals. Don't forget to get a fresh hand rolled tortilla!

Some of the best Mexican food in Seattle. Can be super tough to find parking, but worth the walk. I use the Relleno as my "water mark" for any Mexican restaurant and theirs is one of the best around. The Seafood platter is good as well, according to my husband!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Rosita's. From the fresh corn tortillas, chips and salsa to start, to the margaritas and entree, I have not one complaint. Except, maybe, that the margaritas were a little toooo tasty! If you have a craving for Mexican, Rosita's will not let you down!

I have eaten at Rosita's twice, about 15 years ago and in September. Both times I was pleased with the friendly, personable service and impressed with the home-made tortillas and the unusual offerings on the menu--gorditas and sopes, for instance. That said, I wish they would make their food more flavorful and spicier; my impression is that they keep it fairly bland for an American clientele, but many of us would appreciate more assertive flavors.

Had lunch yesterday after a walk around the lake. We had ice tea, chimichanga double vegetarian, one chimichanga with beef and one fish taco. They have great chips and salsa that also comes with a avocado type green salsa as well. We enjoyed the lunch the only down fall might be the fish tacos have an unseasoned fish so a little blah. Will return maybe just skip the fish.

I rarely rate restaurants as they can always be hit or miss, but this place is by far my favorite local Mexican restaurant! I love their home made Chile Relleno. On evenings you can get freshly made tortilla's. My husband loves there "everything platter" with shrimp wrapped bacon, skirt steak, and rice and beans. Parking is very difficult, but they do have a small lot around the corning just for them, so if your lucky you can hit a spot there. It's worth driving around to find a spot though!

I've been to Rosita's four times already and every time I've had a different plate from the menu, all great! This is really authentic Mexican food, not tex-mex. Highly recommend it.

We stopped in for a quick drink before a wedding down the street. Margarita on the rocks, strawberry margarita and a few beers for the guys. Chips and salsa were yummy (and spicy). Great service. We'd love to come back to try the handmade tortillas. Thanks for the cool place to sit on such a hot day!

I been coming here for six years, and it’s still the BEST Carne Asada in Seattle. Great friendly service. The freshly hand-made tortillas are out of this world.

Every time I go to Seattle for the day I always look forward to eating at Rosita's near Green Lake. The food is authentic home style cooking. Fresh tortillas are cooked to your order with creamy butter. The sauces are unique and tasty and you get much food for your dollar. Friendly servers and the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. Great restaurant!

We tried the Burritos and Rosita's Special and both were excellent. The homemade tortillas were perfect! We were fortunate to have no wait at this popular restaurant and received friendly and efficient service. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, you won't be disappointed in Rosita's. Rosita's is the real deal.

This placer has been a consistent favorite for me and my family for years. It's family-friendly, food is very good, and it is just a block from Green Lake, so you can walk off your dinner afterward. Highly recommend.

Great homey place that the locals love. I had a fabulous chile relleno! Authentic tasting food full of flavor.

We have enjoyed eating inside Rosita's restaurant in the past and recently ordered using their take-out service. It is now our favorite place to order take-out from here in north Seattle. The window is easy to get your order from, the containers and portions are great and the food travels very well to your house, plus the car smells good. During our constant pandemic pivoting we do the best we can and Rosita's has done very well with their take-out service.

Best mexican food/drinks ever!

we were seated right away, up in front by the cut out window. They waiter brought us drinks and chips and salsa right away, then took our order. Literally in under 15 minutes our food was being brought to us. And I must say it was some of the best most authentic mexican food we've ever had. We were just in Cancun last summer and this food here at Rositas was 100 times better!!! There is a ton of food, and it is worth every penny. Loved Rositas. We will be back for sure next time we are in Seattle!

Lively restaurant with good margaritas, fresh chips and tortillas, and delicious enchiladas. There are lots of choices for vegetarian or gluten free dining.

Rosita's has been in North Seattle for at least 25 years...probably much longer. It is my favourite place for Americanized Mexican food, hands down. This location has a full bar. Enjoy a freshly made tortilla while you wait for a table. I love the combination plates...I've never had a bad meal here in all the years I've been coming. Service is always on point. One of my favourites is the chimichangas...some of the best I've ever had, especially the vegetarian ones. There's often a wait here...so plan accordingly. And remember, this is an Americanized Mexican restaurant...not authentic or street food.

Standard fare for a North American audience. Generous portions on the bland side. Unimpressed with service on first visit, so went back. Wait staff did take orders and bring food, but curiously detached, bordering on unfriendly, both when restaurant was busy and when it was not. There are better places in the neighborhood.

We looked at a few reviews of Rositas and decided it might be a decent place to try. It was easy to find and looks like a typical family style Mexican restaurant on the inside. Sometimes, these places can be hit or miss. The food was excellent!! Chips and salsa come with the meal and the salsa is very good. All our dishes were very good. Rositas mole is terrific. We will definitely be back when we are in town.

This restaurant is a little hard to find but once we found it it was clean with friendly staff. Great food and service

Very good but the take out gave us all really bad stomach aches. Possibly because we ate way too much.

We are transplanted Californians, and therefore deeply spoiled when it comes to Mexican food. Seems like the farther north we go, the worse it gets. We'd just about given up on finding anything worthwhile in Seattle when we found Rosita's (and Senor Moose in Ballard, but that's a different review). There's not much here that's adventurous or offbeat (for that, go to Moose). But this is our new go-to place for traditional favorites, because it's all very well-made with quality ingredients and obvious attention to detail. The salsas they bring with the chips are something special (the green and the chunky, particularly). The homemade tortillas are the best we've found in Seattle. And unlike an earlier reviewer, I did like the sangria. We've had some mix-ups with the service, but the kitchen is fast and efficient, and the overall experience is consistently good. It's very family-friendly, and can easily work with a crowd. And parking is so easy -- great when we're looking for a zero-hassle evening of good comfort food. Rosita's is a great value for a reliably satisfying meal.

Yes--the real deal. Take the time to travel to Rosita's from downtown Seattle. Then walk around Greenlake.

This is a good Mexican restaurant. The quesadilla was first rate, as was the chilequillas. We've need several times and am sure we'll go back again.

We enjoyed a family meal at Rosita's recently and were really impressed with the fresh ingredients, flavors, and great service. The server went out of her way to accommodate our dietary needs, too. Our granddaughter loved watching the fresh tortillas being made; just a dollar for a fresh hot tortilla with butter. The dishes we enjoyed were the Avocado Tostada salad, Garden Salad, and Chimichangas. We'll be back to this family friendly spot.

Be sure and go for dinner when you can get fresh corn tortillas and salsa as an appetizer for free....I always use Chile Verde as a barometer for how good the food will be when trying a new Mexican place. Gotta say, it was fantastic. Rowdy crowd on Friday night, but service was fast and spot on.....,

Fun local spot, creative but old school Mexican restaurant. Tucked away in the cool and off-the-beaten path Green Lake area, we went for a change of pace and were rewarded. The place is large and casual, plenty of tables, a bar, seems good for dates, groups or families. The menu is traditional Mexican but also some nice twists like carnitas (pork, shredded and grilled) and mole, which had a kick to it. They have a stand where they make their own corn tortillas which was cool. The chips were top notch, light and crispy. Good place for casual meal and not seafood.

Hits the sweet spot. Beautiful menu. Great service. Creative specials. Amazing (jalapeño) margaritas. Its the Mex I crave, and Im in California!!!! So very good- great salsas. I have to tell you, though, I saw a lady order a burrito- without the tortilla or rice, or cheese.....Seattle!!

Fairly predictable Mexican fare but with a price increase. A little surprised that the regular margarita has gone up to $11.50 each. Will definitely stick with $5 beers from now on. The avocado tostada at $16 was filling as was the grilled chicken salad at the same price. Kids rice and beans $5.50 and kids quesadilla for $6 plus a house salad at $7 brought the bill for 2 adults and 2 kids to $83.50 before tax and tip. Pretty expensive for what we had!

This was an incredible find on Google when we searched for vegetarian-friendly Mexican near the Woodland Park Zoo. Everyone was thrilled with the food, and the prices were reasonable for the amount of food 8 hungry people ate.

I ove this resturant great service and quality of food! Good prices .Love warm chips with salsa mmmmm delicious.

The restaurant was a bit on the noisy side, but the food was very good, the salsa was good and the margaritas were good as well. The service was prompt and friendly so with all of those pluses the noise level was not a huge negative.

Really liked the atmosphere and the service was great. Had the classic margarita and nachos. Both were delicious. Then walked most of it off at Green Lake so also a win.

The food and service was very good. I like like mexican food like I get in Mexico. It is a different region of food than I get however very good. The service was great and like most places in Seattle their was not problem with my therapy dog. Biggest PROBLEM was PARKING.

Always great food but servers are very impatient. Visited there around 8pm last night. They took our drink order and immediately wanted us to order food. We did so and then, even before finishing our meals, within about 5 minutes three different waitstaff appeared at the table, reached for our plates and said 'finished'. There was ample seating available so it was not that they needed the table. No asking if we wanted dessert or anything else, merely clear the table and hand over the check. Disappointing, to say the least.

Rosita's is our go-to place for low key celebrations, birthdays and sometimes New Year's Eve. They are open for regular business on New Year's Eve, which also happens to be a birthday in our family. So if we aren't doing a big party, Rosita's is a draw. They have a station where they make tortillas fresh. My 2 year old grandson loves to go there and get one to eat right away while waiting for the food to come. They are kid friendly. The portions are huge, so even if you order the small combination plate, you are probably eating too much. Thankfully taking food home is easy. They have plentiful and free chips and salsas on the table within easy reach of everybody. They don't take reservations, so since we need to eat early because of a young one, we have no problem. But sometimes there can be a wait because this place is popular.

We grabbed dinner here in early December, on a super busy night. Service at the bar was great, as was the food. Chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. For dinner, I had a house margarita and the veggie chimichanga. Both were delicious! I ordered my margarita without a straw, and it came with one. Straws are a cost that any restaurant can save on. They aren't needed to consume a beverage, and have a negative impact on the environment since they cannot be recycled and often end up in the ocean. Please join the global movement to eliminate single use plastic waste and only serve straws upon request. Consider using paper straws instead or adding to your menu "Straws available upon request." Both your staff and patrons will be helping save the planet one sip at a time!

My favorite local place to eat for Mexican. I don't have a favorite, because I've liked whatever I order here...

Last night had the Avocado Tostadas, one of us chicken on beef. A complete meal, everything tasted fresh. The house margaritas are generous. We didn’t try the free fresh tortillas. The green sauce has just enough punch. We have been to Rosita's many times, its always clean, friendly, and quick.

love Rositas!! my favorite mexican food in Seattle!

Parking is difficult although they have a small lot behind the restaurant, and you can usually expect a wait, but can go have a freshly made tortilla (tip) while waiting. The Margaritas are tasty (enjoyed the top shelf $11) and the rest of the food rather predictable. The Gallina Mole with chicken ($15.50) was pretty good, although I've been spoiled with Oaxacan Mole. The Chile Verde is a nice option for a vegetarian ($15). The Rosita's Special ($14) was good and almost everything comes with rice and beans, which guarantees you go home stuffed! Total for 4 plus a child and 3 drinks/beers = $107.90 before tip. Service is always prompt!

I love this place. Wonderful food and attentive service.

The menu is smaller but all traditional Mexican dishes and with a unique flair. Also the margarita's are exceptional and the house wine is served in generous portions. I ordered shrimp but asked for the spicy sauce to be toned down and they were able to do that.. my meal was plenty spicy for me but I am not a spice person. Included were rice and black beans and tortes. Others in my party had Burrito appacocio, and a Sergio's special combination plate.. For desert we shared fried ice cream and a flan, both delicious. Overall a great place.

Rosita's seems like the best place to catch up with old friends, especially during happy hour. We had happy hour margaritas blended. On the rocks is also an option.. We were also served chips with two types of salsa, also very yum. Overall, had a busy and lively atmosphere. I would come back again if in the neighborhood.

While waiting for a table or food in the evenings you will find fresh corn tortillas made on the griddle that are served to you for free with butter and salsa - delicious! Very good salsas for Seattle with free chips - not something that is easy to find in this city. Delicious enchiladas, fajitas and flan along with consistently good margaritas. Kid friendly and very quick service - this will be a frequent repeat!

We're spoiled by Mexican food from the Southwest. This was good but we've had better. Reasonably priced. Service was good.

What a delicious meal! Homemade tortillas, the best Piccadilly ever, homemade guacamole, great service. Friendly and fast. In my opinion, best Mexican food in Seattle.

We love Rosita's, it's a great little neighborhood spot. Family run, and it's clear they take pride in what they do. Nothing fancy, but everything is high quality, fresh ingredients, well-prepared. When I said I didn't want the rice and beans so they could just leave them off the plate, she offered a salad as an alternative. And this was no simple lettuce side salad - it was amazing, with big chunks of avocado, corn, tomato, and peppers. In the evenings, they offer free homemade soft corn tortillas fresh off the griddle to snack on while you wait for your meal - delicious! (be sure to tip the cook!)

Everyone had different dinners & one couple shared. As it was, there were enough leftovers for another dinner. Food was excellent. Their veggie quesadilla was exceptional. Everyone working seemed to truly enjoy interacting with the patrons. In some ways it seemed like a Mexican version of the British neighborhood pub...a place for families as well as dates.

I go here 2-3 times a month. It's close to where I live. My son has loved it since he was a baby, my husband & I go here for date nights, and I often meet friends here. My favorites are the tortilla soup, fish tacos, enchilada verde, and, if you can believe it, the salad. They have a house dressing that is SO good! I wish they'd sell it in a bottle. It's green and slightly tangy. I often just get the soup and a salad. The chips are always hot and fresh and in the evening, you can go to the lady making tortillas and get a fresh one for free with butter or salsa. I've never had bad service in the 20+ years I've been going here. It's clean, cheerful, and close to Green Lake for a nice walk before or after. They recently added some outdoor seating as well. My only complaint is that it does get very loud when it's crowded, which is just about every night. The bar (cantina) section is less noisy because the tables are small, but the in main section, where there are two banquet tables that seat 10 each, it can get pretty noisy. When I go with my noise-sensitive son, we go before 6 to beat the crowd.

Mmmm. Always busy, but worth the wait. Enjoy some fresh, hot tortillas while you wait, and then chow down on fresh, not too greasy mexican!

Went to dinner here after hanging out in Green Lake Park all day. If you like Mexican food, you must try Rosita's. The chips were great and they gave us two salsa's, a red and a green. Both salsa's were excellant! The verde has a bit of zing, not too much though. We also tried the jalapeño margarita, this had a bit more zing than the salsa. The margarita's were very good, but not the best I've had. The food way made up for it though. My wife ordered the Chimichangas while I got "Maria's Special" with a Chimichanga and a crispy taco, both with shredded beef. Everything was fantastic. The crispy taco may have been the best taco I've ever had (and I've eaten a lot of tacos). The chimichanga was great as well and it was complimented with some really good rice and beans. We will definitely visit Rosita's again.

Rosita's is consistently good with fresh ingredients and friendly service. The handmade fresh tortillas in the evenings and the salsa (please tip the Tortilla Lady) are always a good way to begin the meal. The food choices include vegetarian options and lighter choices as well as huge main courses than can fill a hungry teen. It is a warm and friendly place that is wonderfully welcoming on a dreary Seattle night or after a sunny day at Green Lake. Only drawbacks are high noise level (if that bothers you) and sometimes a wait which is bound to get worse with the opening of a huge new apartment building a block away. Come early or late or be patient as the wait will be worth it.

Had not been here for awhile but my bus was passing by and I hadn't eaten dinner yet so popped in. The place was just like I remember, clean, not too loud, and nice Mexican music in the background. I was alone so sat at the bar. The bar is jam packed with lots of different Tequilas. Two TVs to watch whatever sports are on. I ordered a house Margarita. Yum. Not too sweet, not too sour, just right. My favorite dish was still on the menu, (SMILE), Pollo Al Carbon. Very tender chicken breast cooked on the grill, covered in a delicious spicy red sauce. The thing I liked about this dish is you can request it to be a little more spicy. I always do but it's good just the way it is too. Seemed to be better than I remember, served with delicious Mexican Rice, and Black Beans, and house-made corn tortillas, (you can get a free taste of the tortillas upon entry to the bar, that's where she was actually cooking them!). Also a bit of lettuce and slice of avocado with tasty dressing. And if you don't use up all the delicious sauce as you finish your plate, get some more of the tortillas to clean the plate with, so tasty. Since I was riding the bus, I decided to wash it all down with another Margarita. Friendly staff and not too expensive. (There is a Happy Hour from 9-close which includes those house Margaritas!). I don't know why I stayed away so long but I won't again. Oh, and it's the Metro bus line 26X that takes you right by the place. (And just a block off the 48 route along Greenlake. But there's ample parking if you're driving too. And on a nice day, they have a few seats outside where you can sit and enjoy the fresh air. All in all, a great experience.

Four of us ate supper at Rosita's on a busy Monday evening. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. Each of us like our entree, but we were a little disappointed with the pitcher of sangria.--Not enough zing.

Just a block away from bustling Green Lake, this family owned Mexican restaurant serves all of your favorite dishes at a reasonable price. There is ample parking (although note you will be asked to register your car, so knowing your license plate number is helpful). A previous review cited a lack of parking, but the parking lot is around the side and to the back of the restaurant. The chips and salsa are yummy and never ending. There is a nice lunch menu that is served quickly. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

Very good food and the chips and salsa have a green avacado salsa that is good. The flour tortillas were good and thick and 4 tortillas come with your order. Usually other places have those thin papery type flour tortillas that are worthless. The chips were mostly small and broken like they were at the bottom of the bag. The main dish was very good but the rice was bland. Overall very good food and good service. This was a lunch special and I ordered a soda and the total came to $17, so not cheap.

I have been eating here for ten years. Great food, excellent margaritas and friendly service. The homemade tortillas are awesome! My only complaint is that prices have gone way up, possibly due to the $15 minimum wage passed in Seattle. Two people will spend $60 dollars here on average (2 drinks and two entrées). For a family style Mexican restaurant that seems a little expensive to me.

Unique Mexican food. In Green Lake neighborhood. Fresh tortillas made and served for tips. Love the cabbage salad! Good margaritas, small lounge area

This place is in a prime location. You can easily fit it into any Greenlake visit and make a nice evening of it. I can't say the service has ever been anything phenomenal but the food is delicious. Starting with the chips and salsa that I somehow can never stop eating. If you like quality mexican food this place is worth a visit.

This is it! Authentic AND great Mexican food. The place is jammed on weekends and especially so during the summer months so plan in advance. It's worth it. The food? It's all good!

It's traditional Americanized Mexican verses any of the more trendy Mexican menus that are popular today. Think an entree with side of rice and beans, heavy on the mild sauce. The staff was quite friendly and we stayed a long time to talk without any pressure. The food portions were generous but all three of us thought it was fine/OK and could have used less sauce and more spice. The price was on the higher end of range we would expect to pay for traditional Mexican but the location is great, quite close to Green Lake. It seems to have quite a family following and there were lots of high chairs and kids. If we were to go again, I'd try to hit the happy hour or lunch.

The food is quite good, especially away from the standard burrito-and-nachos fare. Try the mole or the arroz con pollo. The warm handmade tortillas are amazing.

Food is excellent, I had Chile Colorado 2 out of 4 days we ate her. Homemade warm tortillas are great, marguerites very good. My wife had crispy tacos & loved them. Restaurant crowded which is always a good sign. Waiters slow & infrequent visits but food made me almost rate it a 5. Kid friendly....

We visit here every time we are in town. Food is good, area of town is nice to walk around in before or after you eat. There is a lady in the bar area making complimentary corn tortillas by hand with hot butter and salsa. Worth a visit.
