Just got back from an amazing meal at Roti. It had been a while since we'd been, so I'd forgotten how good it was. We started our meal with the vegetable samosas which were huge and flavorful. We then had the scallop curry, prawn tikki masala, basmati rice, garlic naan and a mango lassi. It was all delicious!! I've never had a bad meal here. We've eaten at many Indian restaurants in Seattle, and this is by far the best. The atmosphere is very nice, I love the ceiling tiles, the furniture, and the metal containers they serve the water in. It is a bit pricier than some other Indian restaurants we've been to, but the quality makes up for it and we usually have enough leftovers for another meal. The service is prompt and pleasant, although the only thing they could possibly improve on just a wee bit is they could be a little more friendly and smile more. My words tonight as we were leaving was that it was another perfect meal!!

We ordered biryani (goat), Hydrabadi chicken, and paneer tikki masala plus plan naan. They provided 3 chutneys with dal Bread and chutneys were very good. Entrees were large portions but a bit plain. Mango lassi was delicious and the service was very prompt, polite and caring. If back in Seattle, we might go back but we might try another Indian restaurant.

Was not impressed with the service or the food. I did like the saag and the vegetable samosas, but service was terrible. My waitress looked very bored and rarely come to the table. I wouldn't return,

Liked: Authentic and delicious foods prepared by an Indian family using fresh ingredients that are presented in an atmosphere that places you right in India. Colors, flavors, textures and smells all reinforce your experience of wonderful and exotic cuisine. Each table is served a stack of roti bread with several dipping sauces to enjoy while you peruse the menu. The roti is so delicate it amazes me that it makes it to your table from India! Dislike: The wait for your food may seem to be a bit long. However, the rewards for the wait are worthwhile.

From the moment you walk in they make you feel welcome to the culture. The ambience in the restaurant tells the story about how proud the owners are to be from india and how they want to share it with their guest. The food is absolutely amazing and the service is phenomenal!!!

We ate here twice before I wrote this review and honestly, the food is about average. The service, however is NOT. They border on RUDE, and our waitress brought out the wrong appetizer, and when we brought it to her attention, she whisked it away...No "sorry"..No "I'll fix that". Then of course our food came out and THEN the correct appetizer arrived. Again, no "how is your meal? sorry about the mix up". And, you guessed it, it was on the bill. So, twice is good enough to learn me. Not going back, but the food was okay. Nothing to get excited over....really.

Great atmosphere and cuisine. Roti does it right. If you like spice, order extra spicy because it's fantastic! Highly recommend the Madras. Super nice staff too.

Based on how much we enjoyed our first visit we went back again. The food was once again amazing - I highly recommend this restaurant when in Seattle. Sure the servers occasionally make the odd mistake, but they are very nice (never rude) and always rectify any issues as soon as possible. Highlight for me is the vindaloo and also be sure to try the mango lassi.

Delicious dinner and great service. Absolutely loved it. The host was so gracious and brought my husband a complimentary birthday mango pudding. We had the lamb biryani and chicken curry. Awesome.

Local friends who love Indian food invited me to this place and the fact is that it was a very positive surprise. We all ordered curries and we tried each others plate and all 4 curries were delicious, unique in taste and texture, well seasoned and in good portions. They tried some entries that I didn't and they all said they were delicious. I would definitely come back and I recommend it if you are looking for Indian food.

I usually only write reviews when I had an amazing experience...so you can check my rating history as this is the first "bad" rating I have EVER written... We went to roti as a group of 10 after our excursions on Saturday, June 22 around 8:00pm because a friend of ours told us that the food here is pretty good. Unfortunately, the owner of this restaurant (a tall, middle-aged Indian guy) was extremely rude to us as soon as we got there. First of all there was no room to sit 10 people on one table because the place was packed so we were trying to figure out how to split up and sit down in different tables across the restaurant. He told us very rudely in Hindi to move out of the way because he can't do his work when we're in the way. I understand this, but there is a proper way of saying this in English and in Hindi. Secondly, he told us very sarcastically that we should go to the side and discuss this huge dilemma of sitting down. Thirdly, as we sat down finally, I was talking to my father in Gujarati about how the sun was right in our faces (where we were seated) so it was annoying. He immediately responded in Hindi and told me to move if the sun is in the way and I said "Ok"...he turned around and in Hindi responded "WHAT DID U JUST SAY" extremely rudely.....and I said "All I said is Ok I will move!" and he responded in Hindi "Badi meherbani hogi" very sarcastically. At this point he was starting to be rude to my mother and aunt which were seated at the other end of the restaurant. I yelled out to my family to all get up and leave. As I was leaving I told him that he needs to learn to respect customers because there's no way he's going to get business otherwise. All he did was respond extremely rude and said "OK" and did not care one bit about customer service..he just let us leave I cannot comment on the food, but I am so glad that I did not give him business...of probably $150 worth or more from my family. We went across the street and ate at Blue Fish Grill Taco place which was a Mexican place that had a very friendly staff. The staff there actually gave all of us free cookies just because of our experience at THE ROTI because they felt so bad for us...the worst Indian restaraunt when it comes to service EVER... An Indian man that has no hospitality...no sense of service..extremely rude and unpleasant....! We actually told the local Hotels about this man, hoping that no hotel nearby sends their customers to this location for a meal

A bustling neighborhood place. Delicious food, good service. We were in Seattle for only a few days, and made a point of eating here twice because we were so impressed. Portions are generous, so guide yourself appropriately if you don't want leftovers.

good food, good value, friendly service, all you can eat buffet at lunch time (11-2 or so); easy to access on Queen Anne Ave N

Dined at Roti last night, party of 4. Service was quick, helpful, professional a friendly. We chose several dishes, which we shared. Two of the " stars" was the chicken makhani ( absolutely delicious) and the aloo ghobi, although the naan, dips, sauces were all excellent. Can't wait to go back to Seattle, and Roti will be top of my must do lists. Thankyou

The food at Roti was INCREDIBLE. My coconut prawns were perfect, as was my wife's paneer tikki marsala. The service was also excellent - the food came quickly and our server, Shreddan, was attentive, inviting and quite enjoyable to talk to. If you're in the Queen Anne area, highly recommend!

The service staff was average, but the owner was very helpful. The food was cooked to perfection from start to finish. The portions were larger then we expected. I had the tandori chicken which could easily feed two people and we ordered two portions of rice, when one would have been plenty. The interior decoration has had a lot of effort put into it and as a result you experience a little piece of India. I liked everything about this place and can't wait to go back!

Just fantastic fresh Indian food with a huge selection and some of the best flavored I have had outside of India itself. This is another gem in Lower Queen Anne.

Nice atmosphere. We went for dinner on a Friday night at about 7. The wait was supposed to be 20 minutes, but turned out to be less than 5. The staff was very busy, but acknowledged how busy they were and checked in with us several time. Very good rosemary naan. The methi lamb was good, and the chicken saag was great!

This was my first Indian food experience, so the variety of the buffet seemed a perfect choice. There were about a dozen entrees, a couple of salads, and a couple of dessert items. Everything was good, but nothing was terribly interesting or delicious. I was expecting high levels of spice, perhaps even some heat in the main dishes- but no. Again, everything was good, but I was left a bit disappointed. The people there were quite nice.

Indian is my favorite food, I was taken to Roti first time a couple of years back by a business colleague. Since then I try to go back every time I'm in Seattle. Anything we've ordered is amazing, the flavors are great! I will keep coming back, especially for lunch when they have the buffet!

Found this great little restaurant in Queen Anne this weekend when I was in Seattle for a concert. Ihad the Chicken Tikka Masala, was wonderful! I got the 3/4 on the spicyness level and it was a little bit too spicy for me, but I can't wait to go back and eat there again! It was hard to get a table on Friday without reservations, had to wait 20 minutes, so my advice is to make a reservation on weekends. Can't wait to go back!

Just the worst manager of a restaurant I have ever met. Bread was delivered 15 minutes after the dishes (subzi) so that turned cold. Huge pieces of bread so he breaks them by his own hands in front of us. Were they cleaned before touching my bread?

We have been patronizing Roti for several years because we like the food and atmosphere. However, while the food is still good, we noticed less attentive service. Also, on Sunday (August 27, 2018), we had made reservations for a group of 9 persons. Our group was so engaged in conversation that nobody paid any attention to the detailed bill. It wasn't until we later examined the detailed bill that we realized that there was a 18% service charge added in before the total. Consequently, we unwittingly added an additional 20% tip. Nobody fore-warned us of the embedded service charge either when the reservation was made or when we arrived at the restaurant. Be aware!!

We love indian food and have lived in the area for over 40 years. This restaurant is by far one of the best that we have tried. We have always had good service and excellent food and have never been disappointed with any of our choices. We have been to this restaurant five times.

Food was excellent, service was friendly and attentive, prices were reasonable. Great value. I wish Roti was around the corner from my house, not just my hotel.

Everything we had at Roti was good if not special. The decor is rather typical for an Indian restaurant but put together in a way that make Roti quite pleasant for dinner. Service was fine and the owner stopped by to ask about our dinner. (Nice!) The plain naan was excellent and we also tried their special naan, which seemed to surprise the wait staff. I guess few people try it! Too bad, it WAS special -- with chopped cherries and nuts!

Very good Indian on busy friday night. We had enjoyable meal and the spice level was just right. Service was off but not bad just busy night.

Not only does Roti have a lovely atmosphere and attractive decor, with soft lighting, paintings and Indian decorations, but it is also delicious cuisine and the service was wonderful. We stopped in after going to the Siff Uptown Cinema. The garlic Naan bread was generously portioned and very good. The Prawn Tikka Masala was delicious. I couldn't quit sneaking more rice and sauce long after the prawns were devoured. Wonderul flavor. My companion had a Lassi and also the Matar Paneer, which was also very good. The prices are reasonable and we really enjoyed our meal.

A wonderful variety of dishes from the lunch buffet were thoroughly enjoyed by our party of three. We especially appreciated the personal attention given by Roti's owner and friendly staff.

We decided on this restaurant based on it's location next to our hotel on lower Queen Anne and were initially impressed with the pleasant decor and attentive staff. They start off by serving you a piece of Indian crispy Indian flat bread that is very spicy! Our food was good but not great-the dal dish we ordered lacked enough spice and had an unusual texture. The coconut chicken dish had a nice sauce but the chicken was overcooked. The naan was huge and very good. The service was prompt.

Stopped in here before the theater. Nice Indian atmosphere with carved panels covering the walls and ceiling and complimentary furniture. The place looks the part. Even though there were only a few tables occupied, we waited about 10 minutes before we our waited came over to see if we wanted anything like drinks or appetizers. The service was slow and not very attentive. Complimentary papadam came, room temp instead or hot out of the pan. Ordered plain naan and saag paneer (pureed spiced spinach with paneer cheese). The Saag Paneer was served in a institutional looking steel bowl. It was OK but not as fine as this dish can be. Also it was not very warm -- maybe sat under the lights too long before serving. My wife thought the chardonnay served was a cheaper one than she ordered. I didn't have them but noticed any dishes with meat in them were $17+ which I thought was expensive. And given the quality of the saag, I wouldn't expect them to be great. There's got to be better Indian food in Seattle. Roti isn't bad, they simply don't seem to make an effort. They seem to strive for average and achieve it.

We were staying in a hotel in the next block and this restaurant was a very short walk to have some great Indian food for lunch. I had the buffet which I thought was a bit limited, but the items offered were very delicious including the mango cream dessert.

This place has below average food and worst service. The manger is extremely rude. I won't recommend this place to anyone, there are other good places. This place is a waste of time and money.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant if you're staying in the Queen Anne District. The food is well-prepared and delicious, and there's an extensive menu for all tastes. We had scrumptious coconut/curry salmon, and our granddaughter loved the lamb curry. Our friendly server told us that the restaurant is under new ownership. They followed good COVID policy.

On a weekend trip to Seattle we lucked upon this restaurant. The restaurant was extremely busy and the smell inside was amazing. The food matched the smell, servings were large and was fantastic meal. Service and organization of the restaurant could definitely improved, but the food was great.

We had great Indian food here for lunch - chicken tikka masala, and got out for under $25! Close to Key Arena, and about ten other very good small eateries.

this restaurant was right near our hotel so we tried it for dinner on a Saturday night. The food was fantastic, the best Indian food I've had in a very long time. I thought the service was friendly, and we barely had to wait for our dinner to be served. I had the saffron chicken and would definitely recommend it, it was delicious.

Came across this gem and had dinner there two nights in a row. Meals were very generous and too much to eat so they let us do take as well. Great food and service. Thank you

I am a fan of Roti. They have the best Indian food in Seattle, good service, pleasant. Warm experience every time. A family run place and the owners are always present. it shows in the food and attention to service. We always order too much so that we have food to take home.

Excellent dinner! Can’t wait to come back again. Had the vegetable samosas for an appetizer, they were wonderful. Even the pickled red onion on the plate was great! Entrees were lamb Rogan josh and vegetable biryani. The lamb dish was the best I’ve ever had! Great job!

Roti offers a variety of vegetarian, fish, and meat dishes. The Coconut Salmon was especially good, but if you plan to share a meal with friends, the salmon portion is quite small and best suited for one person. Karahi Chicken, on the other hand, could feed four people as part of a shared meal, as could Paneer Pakora.

It is a blessing and a curse that this place is a few short blocks from my apartment. Bless Indian food.

Daughter lives here and suggested this place and we were very pleased...everything we ordered was very good service not so...but we still enjoyed our meal...would go back for sure..

The place doesn't stand out when looking at it from the outside, but the inside is very nice. We got there before the lunch rush and were greeted right away and decided to dine-in. The host got us started right away with drinks and appetizers. Our server (Shreddan) continued the good service. Food was Awesome. Highly suggest the Coconut Salmon. We didn't have much left over and what was left was dinner later. The only downside is got really busy and there was only one server working the front doing both online orders and dine-in. Thanks for a great lunch, good conversation, and good service.

It really doesn't matter what you order, everything is delicious! My personal favorite is the Coconut Curry Chicken. Other favorites are: butter chicken, and tikka masala. The rest of my family likes the lamb dishes. If you enjoy Indian food, this restaurant will not disappoint!

Service was very slow & the malai kofta was just mediocre. Not easy to park nearby either. Will not return.

i was underwhelmed by the food as well as ambience. the chicken was rubbery and not cooked well. the naan was all super refined flour missing the essence of some whole wheat flour. the ambience was gawdy and the chairs were uncomfortable. nothing bowled me over except the smiles of the servers.

Before to visit this restaurant I did not like Indian food. I ended up there for a business dinner and paid other 6 visits afterwards. They changed my mind about the Indian food and I would be more than happy to visit this restaurant again next time I go to Seattle. Recommended!

We went to Roti tonight after a long day of goofing off in Seattle with our two sons, 8 and 12. We had read that this was a kid friendly place ind it sure is. The staff was very nice and our waitress, who I believe may have been the wife of the cook/owner, was extremely kind. She interacted with our sons a lot and really made this a great experience. Oh...and the food.... The naan is piping hot when they bring it out, the chicken Marsala was not too oily, the dal soup we shared was a huge it with our 8 year old, as he is our soup guy. The chicken tikka kabobs were seasonal well and has hint of Citrus that kept it bright. We shared an order of kheer rice pudding and the waitress even took the time to explain to use how it was made. We will absolutely be going back. Great food and great staff....what else could you ask for ?

We met a friend at Roti's for dinner and had the best time! The wonderful wife of the owner was super friendly and helpful, and we felt like we were visiting family! She was very welcoming of my 95 pound service dog calling her a 'beautiful baby'! This doesn't happen all the time, I can assure you! I ordered the goat curry, which was delicious! My daughter ordered the lentil soup (I snuck a spoonful and found it to be very tasty as well!). I didn't get a chance to steel a bite of my husband or son's food because they ate it too fast! We also enjoyed mango and strawberry lassi drinks with dinner. The food DID take an awful long time to get to our table, but it was worth the wait. If I find myself back in this area of town again, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Roti for a meal!

We stumbled across this restaurant while looking for a place to eat in Queen Anne on New Year's Eve. Very nice ambiance, the restaurant is elegantly decorated with Indian artifacts and art. Could be a place for a romantic dinner. Three of us ordered two lamb dishes and a shrimp dish, plus some roti and naan. The garlic naan was gigantic, one piece could be enough for two three people, but the roti was small. All dishes were perfectly spiced, I had a lot of large prawns in my dish. We were very full and all of us had leftovers to take home. I gave 4 stars because I'd like to try more dishes before I'd say this place is perfect. I will definitely come again. One suggestion: It would be nice if the dishes come with some complimentary rice.

Fantastic Chicken Tikka Masala, Mango and Butter Chicken Masala were also phenomenal. Achari Shrimp was probably my favorite. Loved the Naan bread.

We had only arrived in Seattle a couple of hours earlier, checked into the hotel and were hungry by late afternoon. The hotel had a list of nearby restaurants and Roti was among them. After a short walk up the "hill," we found it. Since we were there early, there were no other people seated. It has a typical Indian restaurant menu. The waiter was helpful in describing the different dishes. We were served spicy papadum with a tray of three condiments. We chose the Pullao rice, spinach naan and chicken tikka marsala kabobs. The spinach naan came warm and soft and has quite a bit of toasted garlic in it. The Pullao rice is kind of like Indian style fried rice. It was very flavorful. The chicken tikka marsala kabobs came hot on a cast iron plate. There was more than enough food for 2. We ended up taking half of the food back to the hotel. Cost was $35 dollars including a beer, but not the tip.

The details of my review seem to be well supported by others! We came here on a Saturday night for a 5:45 seating. Granted, we were not going to the theatre and the restaurant was reasonably full (but not totally). There were apparently 2 waiters for the whole restaurant. It took over 30 minutes to get a drink order and another 15 to get them filled. Appetizers came with the naan (rather than the naan with the food) and the food was a long time coming. We had to ask several times for servers and also after we ordered to check on when the food was going to be coming. We had with us two younger kids - not sure if that was the problem with the service, but it was really bad and the kids were starving (which we told the server). The food was good and the interior nice, but the service was horrible.

We carried just at the cut off for seating (9:45) - initially we felt rushed as we had to order immediately, and we weren't sure how things would go from there but I'm happy to say that both food and service were excellent. Pekoras were light and crispy, saag paneer a total winner as well. Service was warm and friendly, would go back in an instant. Attractive decor as well.

we read some mixed reviews but we found the food was really good. the service was very friendly and efficient. no complaints at all

This is the place. Great Food. Great portions. Great Service. Great Atmosphere. One of the Best Indian Restaurants we have ever been to. GREAT.

We were very happy with our choices and the ambience was great. Service friendly and promptly. Very good food and the price was right.

Decent menu selection and nice atmosphere. Located in the Uptown/lower Queen Anne area of Seattle. Great spot to grab dinner before heading to events at Seattle center or Uptown Cinema.

Everytime I eat here , I feel nostalgic. I am strangely reminded of the dhaba ( street/truck ) food along the highways in India. The naan is really huge. This place does not serve a complimentary rice dish (like the jeera rice) along with the curry dishes (which is usually a norm). The paneer tikka masala is good and the naan is tasty. The ambience is really rich and the walls are adorned with paintings and the like. The staff is attentive and the service is good. They also give you complimentary papad ( fried seasoned dough - like crispy discs, maybe) with a variety of three chutneys (sauces). Overall , a good experience dining here. Suitable for dates, couples , friends and families!

To me the best over all indian dining experience in Seattle , nice airy and bright setting , flavorful but not overtly spicy food and cooked light , nice friendly serve staff . Best in town

Great food ..quick service ..huge naan bread and Very filling . 2 kids and 2 adults shared 2 mains and 2 starters with the naan and left completely stuffed. The meal starts with complimentary poppadoms and dips..vey tasty and the food came out steaming hot not long after. We had great attentive service . Would recommend and would go back !

I don't even like mangoes. It's true, and I know, it's weird, but the mango chicken here is out of this world amazing. The lamb vindaloo and jalfreezi are exquisite, and the naan is spectacular. We do a lot of Indian food in Seattle but this is probably my number one place for it, and by a rather large margin.

A few friends and I were meeting for lunch and decided to try Roti in Lower Queen Anne. The lunch buffet was easy and affordable. Ambiance was great. It got pretty crowded so u would recommend getting there at 11:45 am to beat the crowd. Overall, I would definitely recommend Roti for lunch if you are in the mood for Indian.

We observed mice walking around the dining area. Luckily we cancelled our order and left. Management did not seem concerned.

Long story short, I ordered a lamb dish. It had 3 pieces only out of which 1 was just a bone. I called the host/owner (tall elderly gentleman) to get it replaced as I had less meat to it and 1 was a mere bone. He replied in a very inconsiderate way saying that what you get it what you get. That really pissed me off and I told him that I'll pay him according to what was server. Hearing that, he immediately replaced the bone with a meaty piece. However, how rude and inconsiderate. One of my very close friends had to leave the restaurant after having an argument with him on a similar issue. DON'T GO HERE. THE FOOD IS OVERPRICED AND QUALITY IS CHEAP. There are better Indian restaurants around Queen Anne area.

Very good place, this is my go to spot for Indian food. I simply love the Mango Chicken and Mango Lassi. The other items are great too, I'm not a fan of buffets so I can't grade it there but it does look decent. Service is great, food is great, what more do you need?

The place is attractive and in a part of town with lots of good places to eat. The menu is pretty standard in terms of selections. The special roti with chopped pistachios was yummy. The lamb vindaloo was OK but not exciting and 4/5 spiciness was actually 2/5. The tandoori chicken was very salty. I was puzzled that the bottle of Ravenswood Zinfandel came to the table with cork already out and it was not very interesting. In retrospect, I am not sure it was in fact that wine. We were not offered a taste when the bottle came out. We won't go back.

We kind of stumbled across this little gem while hiking the neighborhood. So glad we decided to eat there one night. Wished we'd been there an extra night so we could enjoy it again. Felt like we were eating in someone's home-the food was that good!

Restaurant owner Mr. Kohli was courteous and he came up with some real good complimentary desserts from his side. Overall food was average but ambience and courtesy made it really good so my review is 4star.

I'll start out by saying that the restaurant has a very pleasant ethnic Indian ambiance. The decor was authentically Indian, and the food was top notch. The warmth and hospitality of the wait staff and owner made me feel very welcomed and respected. The owner was an excellent host, and made sure that service was quick.

I've eaten at Roti many times and ordinarily find it a pleasant experience. But I was not satisfied with a few aspects of their sanitary practices and will not return.

My wife and I happened to come across this restaurant whilst visiting the city. It's situated within close proximity to the famous Seattle tower landmark. We honestly weren't expecting anything special but were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We're British and have eaten in many an Indian restaurant so this was a taste of home for us, but I have to say the Onion Bhajee was fantastic and one of the best takes on the dish I've ever had. The Naan bread too was excellent, and huge. The mains were well cooked and served speedily, the portion size was also very large. The service was prompt, polite and friendly. If we ever visit the city again we'll definitely return. I was asked how spicy on a scale of 5 I wanted my meal, and I said 3 because the restaurants in Canada cater to a blander palate. It was pleasantly spiced, but go higher than a 3 for the average UK taste I'd say.

My husband and I have been going here for years! It is one of our favorite restaurants. The owners are awesome, the staff is great and the food is wonderful. Tikka masala, mayo chicken and butter chicken are great!! The rice is awesome. Samosas are yummy too! Can't go wrong. Lovely decor. Good place for families as well.

We have eaten Indian food all over the world and thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Roti Cuisine of India. The menu is good and it is reasonable priced.

A nice and quiet atmosphere, with excellent food and the most wonderful and personal service. And very reasonable pricing. Truly, the food is outstanding. Can't wait to go there again.

Hit this up for lunch. Ordered a chicken combo, a veggie combo, and a mango lasse, which between three of us gave us about 6 different curries, chicken rice -- enough to have a late night leftover binge. The one hitch was ordering samosas for an appetizer, and when they got to the table they were still frozen in the middle. They did fix it, though. And the decor. It is more Indian fever-dreamed than the most Indian Indian has ever dreamed. It is beyond Indian. It is meta Indian. It has plowed right through tacky and plunged into irrepressible radness. I loved it so much.

This place was about 4 - 5 blocks from our hotel, so we walked up for dinner one night. The menu selection was fairly standard, but good. I think I had a korma or tikka dish. The main thing I remember is the decor - they had a lot of interesting exotic wood-panels on the wall. The food was fine, but was secondary to the atmosphere. If you're in the area (Seattle Place is a few blocks away) this is a fine place to relax after an afternoon of exploration. The food is fine. I enjoyed the overall experience

We walked from Seattle Center/Space Needle to Roti for lunch. They were doing a very brisk carry out business. The restaurant is fairly large with ample seating to spread out. Our lunch was excellent mildly spiced on request and very generous portions. We thoroughly enjoyed and would return.

Great decor! Beautiful cups, plates and utensils. Their chutney is great, the nan is great. I often overeat when I am there, so get only a few dishes and split them.

We didn't intend to eat in this restaurant but we our first choice was fully booked on Saturday evening. So we ended up here which was a few meters away. It turned out to be a great choice. We ordered vegetable samosa, paneer, biryani with goat, chicken curry. One of the samosas turned out to be cold but the rest of the order was ok. The biryani turned out great, paneer was good, chicken curry was rich and tasty. Service was on the slow side. Would love to come back for more biryani and chicken curry.

The owner/host was terribly rude towards us. They had no tables available when we arrived. When I told him I had spoken to the restaurant earlier regarding reservations, he kept asking me to whom I spoke. His communication and understanding of customer service was zero. This restaurant needs a lesson on how to make people feel welcome as opposed to feeling unwanted! What an awful interaction - go to Chutneys right around the corner instead!!

We went to seattle during a very busy time (huge event at key arena, almost every food place was packed) but this place was a nice quiet reprieve. very good food, fairly decent pricing for indian food. we sat in, but they also do takeaway. great if youre in the area!

I'm no particular expert on Indian food, but I like it, and I like Roti very much. That includes the food, the service, and the interesting décor. I had coconut prawns (very different from Thai coconut prawns, but quite good) and the other members of my family had vegetarian spinach and lentil dishes, which were also nicely done. Service was attentive but quiet. I'll be back again when I have the opportunity.

This rating would be higher if it were slightly cheaper. It's good and the servings are standard size. The naan is huge. The food is really good, but slightly lower prices would have put this rating over the top.

yummy in my tummy. great ambiance. fantastic service. would def return. highly recommend. a bit expensive.

I was told this place was good authentic Indian food. I was told the buffet was good so I made the mistake of saying we would eat at the buffet without checking it out first. We went over there to find most of the buffet was empty. Feeling obligated, I went ahead and tried a bite of the few remaining dishes. The only flavor was spice. The depth of flavor I have come to expect from Indian food was missing and aside from the heat, it was just bland. Needing a napkin, I had to stand in line to address our waiter. While in line, I noticed flies fluttering around the food. Then, I looked at the walls and saw bugs crawling down them. I told the waiter who said he would tell his manager. He then brought us our ridiculously expensive check and we paid and got out of there. I think it was the manager who stood outside the door watching us leave. It was like he wanted to make sure we did not cause a scene. This was supposed to be an early birthday celebration but the only thing this place contributed was disgust and sickness. My friend who ate the most during the visit spent the next couple days in the bathroom. With such amazing food in Seattle, how is this place surviving? Shut it down!

This is the first time for me in Seattle and found this in net. The lunch options are decent but not much variety. Qaulity of teh food is good but they can have more variety compared to the rate they charge They have a good sit out as well for a summer evening

If you are in Seattle and looking for good vegetarian food Roti is the place with authentic Indian taste. I thank god they have roti in Seattle for not letting me starve.

Once you take a step inside, you feel transported into a luxurious Indian restaurant - the décor is authentic and very appealing. They thought everything through - even the water cups are like the ones I used while in India. The food itself was spectacular - well-spiced, perfectly cooked. Lassi was also very great and they have more than just a mango flavor.

Called to reserve for 12 people 4 times got no answer. We got there waiter asked us to wait while he got our table ready. Manager came and told us as we did not reserve so he cannot accommodate us and to find somewhere else to eat. The restaurant was half empty. I explained we tried to call he called me a liar I tried to show him on my phone but he was not taking it. he can get more money from smaller groups than he can from us was his explanation. I have NEVER been more disgusted in my life from anyone let alone a Manager of a restaurant. Please take your Patronage down the road where they care about you.

We stayed across the street at the Mediterranean Inn, were really hungry, and wanted something within walking distance. We stumbled upon this gem. Delicious food and great customer service!!

Those who know their Indian food will also know how difficult it is to find the good stuff in the US. Roti has always been great at the authenticity and we've eaten there a lot. However tonight I had an experience that made me want to boycott Roti altogether. We ordered our food for delivery at 6pm. Come 8pm it hadn't arrived. We called the restaurant several times and nobody answered. I was forced to drive down there myself and park in an expensive neighborhood just to check my order! When I first spoke to the staff, they said they hadn't seen the order. Then they said it came in twice. Then the delivery driver showed up and said he had the order in his car but never explained why it was two hours late. Then another person said he didn't know where to take it. They fetched the food for me and handed me a receipt. When I read the receipt, they had charged me for delivery and a tip. All I got for my trouble was a free drink, a pack of lies and cold food. I'll never go there again.

Really nicely designed restaurant. Gorgeous woodwork. Food was good overall- nothing outstanding. The butter chicken was good. Mango chicken ok. Samosas were poor. Naan very good and HUGE. The service from the server was okay- he misidentified two dishes (?!!?). But, the owner woman was so sweet and nice to us, I have to give it a good review.

We visited for dinner after seeing a movie. It was our first visit to this Indian restaurant. We loved the breads. My husband had chicken and I had a vegetarian dish with cauliflower. The rice that accompanied both dishes was some of the best I've ever eaten. It was delicately seasoned and had a wonderful aroma. My husband had a mango lassi which he liked very much.

Really good Indian food in lower Queen Anne. The meal I shared with my friend was all vegetarian and very tasty, especially their okra dish. The spices were very present but not overpowering and the service was very attentive without being too much. I had been there previously for their buffet but enjoyed their a la carte choices more.

We had curry chicken, lamb rice, and scallops to eat. The food was very flavorful and made to our specific heat requirements. Very helpful wait staff for gluten and lactose intolerant diets.

The food is so mediocre, but for someone who doesnt know indian food much, its sort of an exotic experience. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Soo greasy and oily, you dont actually taste the food. And their customer service is non-existent. They are friendly until you need anything. They ignore you, or act as if they are doing a big favor.

A group of us that gather for dinner twice a year at a confernce that we all attend had our summer dinner at Roti. The whole experince was exceptional. Great food & even better service, which is unusual at a large group meals. We shared Garlic Naan & Rosemary Naan, Paneer Kulcha and Onion Kulcha on arrival. The diners had a broad variety of entrees and there was not on person who was disappointed with their choice, a real rarity. Roti has a very good selection of beers and wine. Finally, the bill was a complete surpise, it was so reasonable. What a nice suprise.

Good - This restaurant has potential to be really great if you could somehow fix the rude and arrogant attitude of the owner who happens to be the main chef. His wife who has a much friendly demeanour and makes a much better hostess. Their dal makani, almost all kebabs and paneer dishes. Also the wife loves their copper serving dishes Bad - Parking around the restaurant can be hard to find time of operation of buffet can be extended Ugly -- THE attitude of the owner. This guy has been rude to at least 10 dif.. people i know at several times. Once he said that the bufet closes at 2:30 and it is 2"15 so sorry no service

Stopped in here for a quick dinner between movies at the Seattle International Film Festival Uptown Theatre, and couldn't have been more surprised and pleased. As you walk in, you get the sense that ownership has a true love and affinity for the India homeland, from both the wonderful aromas and the way they have decorated the interior. They have a diverse menu, lots of India staples, various mild and hot curries, excellent lamb dishes, and more. And as the headline suggests, they are super-friendly, help with menu choices, and join in the search for something both you and they think you will really like. An enjoyable experience all around.

Not that best Indian food I've ever had but still rally good. The service was great and the restaurant was packed which is usually a good sign to me as a tourist. Will definitely come back when I'm in Seattle again.

Stopped in for the lunch buffet because a friend was craving Indian food. The exterior of the restaurant is nothing special but stepping inside was a pleasant surprise. Loved the decor! We sat at a large table to the right, under some arches. The food was good. It was a small buffet but had a surprising variety for the size. Went back for seconds and was comfortably full. Didn't drink anything but water but that was served in large metal pictures that were so cold our glasses formed condensate without any ice in them. Very refreshing!

Looked this place up due to the close drive from visiting the EMP Museum. It is very un-assuming from the outside. But, when you step in to the restaurant - it is a very inviting and quaint setting. The service was attentive and prompt. Mango Lassie and a coconut pineapple Lassie to drink. Both were very delicious and refreshing. We had the Naan Garlic bread ( which was Huge !!!) very delicious and could easily feed four people. Next we ordered the chicken vindaloo and Butter chicken entrees .... Soooooo Yummy, over the Basmati rice. And, for dessert we had the rice pudding. It was excellent :-) We will definitely next time we visit.

To start with the waitress did not advise on the huge size of "naan" that they serve. It was weird. Never seen that mega size bread which was fluffy. The order served was partial. They missed a dish and when the bill came it had it added. The waiter was hardly apologetic. Food taste was fine. Ambience is good. But Overall experience was not very pleasant. The owner lady is all over the place. Looking into your table from behind your shoulder. I found it too intrusive.

Friendly service, but the food is too rich for my taste

We really loved Roti Cuisine of India. We stumbled across this restaurant on a recent trip while staying nearby at the Mediterranean Inn. The food was awesome and served in absolutely beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed the chicken tikka masala and the coconut prawns. The portions are large as is the naan and we were glad our hotel room had a refrigerator and microwave because the leftovers were great the next day. When I sat down to write this review and read some of the negative comments I thought those people must be reviewing another place. We had the absolute best service including a long after-meal conversation about Indian cooking with the host and her husband the chef that night. We eat at Indian restaurants in many cities and as far as I'm concerned, this was one of the best.

Came here last Friday night and ordered paneer naan, tandoori chicken and lamb tikka masala. All were pretty good and my favorite was definitely the tandoori chicken. It was very flavorful and tender, and the veggies (cabbage, onion and tomato) that came with the sizzling plate were quite tasty too. However, I am not quite sure why rice was not included with the masala and we had to pay extra for rice.

We wandered into Roti (very close to our hotel) for an early dinner, and were served delicious samosas and lamb biryani by a charming young waiter. The naan was very fresh and hot! We would certainly eat there again if we were in the area.

The interior is inviting and well decorated by wall wood panels carved with Indian motifs and paintings. The place sits about 50/60 people. While the manager appeared to be a little grumpy, the two waiters and the manager's wife (?) were extremely kind. I ordered garlic naan, lamb vindaloo and one side of achar. I thought the vindaloo would come with rice, but instead I had to order it separately. I paid $29 in total, which included a 15% gratuity. The naan was large, fresh and good. In my view, the pieces of lamb and potatoes in the vindaloo were too big and needed to by cut for consumption. Personally I prefer smaller pieces. I had asked for "medium" hot. This "medium" vindaloo was not at all hot, so I suggest you order full hot if you like your food spicy. The achar was slightly different from what I am used to. This was probably due to the mix of vegetables in the pickle. I ate it, but I did not find it special. All foods and drinks are served in heavy pewter dishes. I did not mind it as it kept my water very cold at all times. A knife was not provided on the table (not sure why, but it surprised me), so I had to ask for one to cut the 2"x2" morsels of lamb. All in all, this seemed to be an average Indian restaurant, with average food and average service. I was definitely not disappointed, but I was not impressed by anything in particular either.

Great night out with cousins: amazing service, fresh & tasty food, spiced to everyone's specific palette. The service was amazing - we had a motherly figure serving us - she explained a lot of the differences on the dishes, got us to try some desserts we had never tried (guaranteeing one or our money back - of course it was amazing and we loved it!), provided excellent customer service and added to a perfectly cooked meal. I like spice and enjoyed the medium heat, but the other three in our party cannot do spicy food, and the kitchen accommodated brilliantly providing flavour without the heat of the spice. Everything was hot coming out of the kitchen and tasted great. We live in British Columbia and would recommend this to anyone in Seattle - worth a special trip to Queen Anne District! The best Northern Indian food I have ever eaten. Well done!

Seven people all agreed that we had very good food and exceptional service at Roti. Only two of us were big fans of Indian food, but we all had great dinners with a bit of sharing of each other's meals. We got really good advice from the woman who waited on us--she was the wife of the head cook. I don't know enough about Indian food to describe what we had except that it was chicken, lamb, and vegetarian. We had two Indian beverages (one based on mango and one based on coconut) that had strong flavors from the basic ingredients. We all went away very happy with the choice of restaurant that night. I recommend making one order for rice for every two people who wants rice and one order of nan for about every four people. We had way too much rice with one order per person and too much nan with three orders, although all of the leftovers went home for meals the next day.

The service was surly, and the curry was disgusting. I think that the spices had been burnt (not in a skilful way, but to excess) at the start of cooking, as the curry was pervaded with an awful flavour. The poppadoms were disgusting too - quite an achievement, in a miserable sort of way. This was, I think, the worst Indian food I've eaten anywhere, ever.

I went back for the second time in two weeks. Medium spice..tender chicken..flaky crispy crust. .. Also tried the Chicken Masala...tender.juicy chicken .creamy but light sauce...Local Family run ...Tummy is Soooo happy right now

Indian food is abundant in Seattle and this place offers better than average food. However, not worth the effort and patience as their service is extremely slow and lacks courtesy. The owner seems to be so cocky with absolutely no attention to people waiting for a long time. I saw people sitting next to us get up after 20 minutes and get the menu themselves.

It took a while after initial interaction for the waiter to serve us , he only came back to the table after we eyed him down. Menu looked extensive with lots of vegetarian options . The paneer in the curries was the beat paneer I have ever had and were quite large, the naan breads were huge ! With two curries , two naan and rice we easily had too much food. Food was inexpensive ,

We have eaten here several times and the food has always been good. The wait staff are efficient and friendly. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Never met a ruder person in the hospitality industry. Reluctantly took our reservation and informed us that we will be asked to leave at 10pm and we should not feel bad. Little did we know that we would be keener to get out of there.mThe whole process of explaining the menu and taking our order was like we are eating at a free house and he is obliging us by taking our order. It was appalling to see that the entire team at the restaurant was behaving the same way. People on tables around us were being treated the same way. it's very bad to see that this is represented as "Indian".

My justifiable reason for being present on Lower Queen Anne Ave the past few weeks has been SIFF at Uptown Cinema. But after an evening of movie watching, walking out onto the street scape and viewing my walkable choices for dinner has been cause for consternation. The collective choices appear to be a gamble, with the odds rigged in favor of the restaurants. I can say with confidence that Roti is a safe, actually a very good choice for dinner. The elaborately carved wood wall panels, colorful textile weaves, fine place settings, nice lighting, etc...set the mood for a superior Indian meal. We ordered three items,as well as naan and rice and although I do not remember the names of the items, they were all well prepared, fresh and flavorful. Service was excellent, yet understated. The dining room was composed, quiet and relaxing. I do look forward to returning.

I needed a quick place to have lunch in between SIFF screenings. The service was lovely, the food was diverse and well seasoned especially the eggplant and the tandori chicken.

We went in since our hotel was nearby. The menu is about what you expect for a typical Indian place, most things are a la carte. The prices are about 12 to 15 per entrée. The food was good, and served at a good rate. My lamb vindaloo was tasty. The place really could use some cleaning around the edges though. Lots of food on the menu pages, the buffet carts had splatters on them a damp cloth could easily take care of. It made me wonder what the kitchen looked like, but I didn't get sick 12 hours later, so whew! I wouldn't recommend to anyone, but if you go in, you'll likely have a tasty meal... perhaps a to go order would make me feel more at ease.
Best Indian food in the downtown area
Located close to the space needle, this place was highly suggested by several local people. The menu had a lot of selections and the food was very good. Not the best I ever had, but we were happy. Portions were large, we could have split one dinner. The nan slection and quality was 5 star.
