Its obviously redolent of the Fifties and a very busy place I just had a milk shake to go and it was very good Service is prompt and the Diner is well run If you want a sit down meal rather than a food court experience then go here

We stopped into Ruby's for lunch during our shopping visit to the outlet mall. We enjoyed the atomosphere and the food was wonderful. Worth going too!

Perfect breakfast, good coffee, delicious peanut butter shake, perfect service (Sarah Anne was extremely attentive and helpful), decent prices. Enjoy it!

Was at the outlets shopping looking for something quick and good. Was very impressed great menu and a great atmosphere. Food was tasty and quick and good service. Would not hesitate to go back again. They also give a great kids menu that turns into a food truck great to pass time when you are waiting on your meal.

Really good for breakfast big serving on the four dishes we ordered. Located in the Citadel Outlet shopping area this is a great place anytime of the day. Service was quick and efficient.

The place it's ok, the prices are very reasonable for the food, the service tho was awfull we had to wait 30 min just to ask for the drinks the rest just killed all our expectations

With a two-hour layover at LAX between a flight from Sydney and onward to the US East Coast, the abysmal terminal for US Airways boasted (a word I use loosely) one sit down restaurant. Ruby's Diner may be famous for its 1940s ambience, but in this LAX location, it was pretty poor. Crowded, poor service, slow slow slow. I mean, I had time to spare and still started to get anxious when my order hit the 40 minute mark. And when the burger and fries arrived, finally, the food was cold. Disgusting. I'd say give it a miss entirely, but honestly, why should the restaurant try to be anything but mediocre when it's the only game in town? Sad.

I ordered the Ranch Burger and still don't know why it was called a Ranch Burger since it really was a bacon cheese burger. Couldn't tell the waiter as we didn't even see him when it was delivered to us. Next time we saw him anywhere in the restaurant was when he brought the bill. Onion rings are our favorite thing and ordered them as a starter - it was brought with the burgers and had so much breading on them that we each at 1 and that was it. 2 burgers with fries, onion rings, ice tea (no refills) and 1 chocolate shake $44........normally we would be ok with that but not in this case! Then within 1 hour I was in the bathroom sick, all night not fun when traveling.

Everything on the menu is good~ a variety for everyone... and the best part, it is located at the Citadel, so you can shop right after breakfast/lunch or dinner.

Was my first visit to Ruby's. We ordered a sandwich and a burger meal, they were both nice- but the fries were delicious! And REFILLABLE!! Refillable fries!!!

The only place in CItadel with tables, great service and good values. Wide and varied menu. Burger, salads and fish. Very good.

Nice old school diner vibe. My husband and I both ordered the hotcakes combo. That was a mistake because the portions are huge. We both could’ve shared one plate, but nevertheless we attempted to finish our individual plates without success. The hotcakes taste homemade. I had the turkey sausage for my meat side and he had the bacon. Both are really good. The staff was very friendly and attentive. This place is located inside the citadel outlets there is ample parking. The prices are really good in our breakfast was delicious.

We had lunch at Ruby's Diner while on holiday in LA. We loved it so much we went there twice! I have to say that it was the best burger I've ever had! Not to mention the shakes! I had the peanut butter shake & it was to die for! Portions are very generous & the service was excellent. Can't wait to get back to LA!

We went here for breakfast 4 times and for dinner once in the week we stayed at Doubletrees. The breakfasts are superb and so was the evening meal. It is standard American fare but in a lovely clean restaurant. There was only one morning we went in and the staff were a little slow , I waited 15 minutes for my coffee. Other than this everything was excellent and in lovely surroundings.

This place has regular diner food. I'm giving it a 4 because their service was fantastic. The food was good, but it was pretty basic. I would return for dessert or breakfast again.

We stopped in for a quick lunch whilst visiting the Citadel outlets. We have had a few American style diner meals on our trip and this one was by far the best. We ordered a burger and a Ruby's club and both were outstanding. The club was particularly good with fresh, thick, juicy slices of turkey as well as fresh crisp salad which has been hard to find on our travels. The staff and service was excellent, and the prices were very affordable particularly given the the inclusion of bottomless soft drinks and fries which is a cool touch. We are sorry we only discovered Ruby's on our last day in the US otherwise we would have visited again.

We went here after a long day shopping, it was exceptionally busy but we didnt have to wait long for a table. The food was lovely and the Milkshakes were to die for they were amazing. This place is a must when you are there.

Loved this place. Food was fab. Cheeseburger sandwhich was amazing. Unlimited fries as well... not that you can probably eat them!!! Theme was brilliant. Haven't seen the chain in Florida so it was nice to try somewhere new. Staff really nice as well. Huge menu something for everyone. Shakes were really good as well. *****

We had lunch in Ruby's while going to Citadel outlet. Even if it was overcrowded (sunday after Christmas) we had a fairly quiet lunch. Burgers were good, and fish and chips looked terrific.

Have eaten here before (Dec 2013) and loved it. I think it was even better this time. Best garlic fries, burgers and best chocolate banana shake ever! Love the decor as well. We felt like we were in a Happy Days episode.

Bad experience because Got food poisoning with the “mushroom burger” no bread but wrapped in lettuce. The rest of the food was not great either.

We decided to eat here after shopping around and it was a best decision. We had ranch burger and i forgot the name sandwich :) both were so good. Our waitress was pretty attentive as well. You should come here when you visit Citadel Outlet Mall.

A 50's diner style restaurant specializing in burgers and shakes. Good but nit special. Service always friendly and efficient.

My sister and I met for lunch at the Ruby’s Diner inside the Citadel Outlet Shopping Center. It was a hot day (90s+ temperatures), so we were thrilled to eat in an air conditioned space! Liza chose the Tuna Melt with French Fries and I chose the Guacamole Burger with French Fries.

How can you visit Southern California and not eat at Ruby's? Fried zuccini, a Ruby cheeseburger with coleslaw and some fresh brewed iced tea! Yum!

Awesome food and large meals. We ordered some Chilli Fries but could not eat them due to the size of the Burger Meal! The shakes are the best!

Excellent service and great food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of space in the booths and tables close enough so the whole family can chat while enjoying a Ruby's awesome milkshake.

I have heard this Diner is the bridge between America's past and present . It was once the famous meeting place during the time of American war (1940). I visited this diner during my Citadel Mall visit, The place is very cosy and busy, food is great. Staffs were kind and was taking care of the crowd very elegantly . very nice ambiance. Hours of operation : sun - Mon 7am - 9pm.

I don't get it. This place was packed but the food was average and overpriced. Service was average as well. You are better off eating at Mcdonalds for half the price. First and last time we will be stopping here.

Never thought I would end up eating at Ruby's. It was one of the few options around, so we decided to give it a try due to lack of time and alternatives. I must admit it was excellent, unexpensive and a real social experience. It's just a diner, but a very good one.

This was our first visit. We did not have to wait long for a table even though it was busy. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Milkshakes were gteat. The best thing was the burger. It was amazing!

This is my second time to America, and 2nd time to Ruby's diner, even though yesterday they were flat out busy, their service never failed to impress. The food was as good as I remembered and with free refills it is sure to please any budget.

Food was nice and fresh. Club Sandwich was delicious. We will be back again!

Love the decorating of the diner, it is tasteful and authentic. It was a busy day with a few people waiting, however we were seated very quickly. The menu is very extensive, so much choice, I couldn't decide quickly. Our meals came quickly and were very good, tastey and filling. Service was good, would recommend.

Been there for dinner, the burgers were average- just your local fast food place, nothing to remember.

My daughter had the chipotle avocado chicken burger and simply loved it. Other daughter had fish and chips and also loved it. Wife and me had also perfect food. Only negative thing: There is NO BEER

I ripped my shorts when I sat down due to some metal on the corner of my table. I mentioned this to my server. About 5 minutes later the manager turned up and told me that the meal was on the house so I could spend the money on new shorts. That's what I call amazing service. The food was amazing quality. Best breakfast I've had in the US. The cinnamon whirls are amazing. My wife had pancakes with sweet Apple. Huge portions, great ingredients and lots of coffee. We never had to ask for a coffee to up, as our server gave us constant attention. Very cute decor - especially if you are a European tourist like we are. We will be back! Thank you.

Great place for breakfast before starting to shop at the Citadel. Opens at 8 and mall at 10. Really good prices. Recommend the "really big breakfast"

Had lunch here from the Citadel factory outlets. Hugely busy but not too long to wait for a table. service was a little slow but meals were big and satisfying. our meals consisted of the grilled chicken sandwich and the Turkey burger. The shakes were also fantastic.

Clean old time diner theme. Food is nice. Had double cheeseburger which was good but not spectacular. Wife had the Cobb burger which she liked. Kids had a hot dog and chicken strips which went untouched.Just the standard American fare done OK but nothing more

This was our first burger in the US and I was honestly expecting more. Was pretty bland and very overpriced. Loved curly fries and milkshake as well as come refills. Service was very good and the place had a good atmosphere.

Had breakfast there in the morning. Good food, great atmosphere. If you plan to go the outlet center you should stop here for breakfast.

My husband and I had lunch here while shopping at the outlet shops. We are from Timaru, New Zealand, and during our five day visit to LA we just had to experience an American fifties style diner, such as seen on TV shows such as "Happy Days". We also tried Rubys diner at San Diego, and really enjoyed the choices of roast turkey and roast beef at both diners. Good to see healthy options on the menu, instead of just burgers. Really enjoyed the freshly squezzed lemonade, the desserts were also great. Both diners had good quick service, friendly staff.. We certainly enjoyed the chance of dining at both Rubys diners, would gladly do so again. Well done Ruby's diners. We visited in May 2013. Kaye and Alan Coles Timaru New Zealand.

good 50's food

Definitely not a one of a kind. Its just like a johnny rockets. The food was good. The server was great. He was really busy but always stopped to make sure everything was ok. I would eat again if i was shopping at the mall, but i wouldn't be disappointed if i didnt.

A fun place to visit (within the Citadel Outlet mall complex) with good food. I stopped here for breakfast after checking out of the Doubletree; they have a big menu with something for everyone (for less money than the Doubletree charges for its buffet). The place was relatively quiet at 9:00am, but despite its large size I can see it filling up later in the day with all the outlet mall traffic. I enjoyed a traditional breakfast for a reasonable price, and service was pretty good. I was out in 30 minutes and made it to the airport on time.

We are tourists to Los Angeles and this was our first visit to an American diner. We were not disappointed. Everything felt like being in the movie Grease, except there was a modern feeling to it. Food was great and portions big. And we had one of the best milkshakes we ever had.

This has to be my favorite diner we went to in the states, the burger was perfection! The restaurant itself was modeled after a 50s diner which made it just that much more fun!

Very cheap for what you get. Large bananasplit with lots of ice whipped cream. Caramel sauce. Great coffee and two Very good milkshakes: One Strawberry and one Orange. US $ 18.-

Quick service and great food. We ordered four different meals and all were delicious. Good value for money - refill for fries and drinks.

The place looks vintage, like "Back to the Future" movie, nice. It is crowded, the food is OK, the service tries to be good but with this amount of people you have to be patient. Just for the looks of the restaurant.

Godd food but portions were small and service was slow.

Food was good enough and service was very pleasant! Busy location, so it took awhile to get food. Some of the servers wear roller skates, like an indoor drive in type place!

I suggest the combos, with nice half lettuce and fries. The burgers are well served and tasty. There are also low fat options.

HUGE portions, above average quality, and reasonably priced. There is a wide selection of traditional diner fare as well as some good salads and vegetarian options.

Great place to eat and refresh during your shopping spree. Food is delicious, servis is fast and servers are excellent, they are so friendly. You will love this place.

The food was OK, unlimited refill of fries was a nice idea though one portion was enough. The service was awful. People arrived, ate and left before our meals arrived.

Good variety of food at reasonable prices. Good service and friendly staff. Happy family atmosphere. Refill of fries my favorite! Easy parking too.

One of the things I have missed most is a 50s style diner near my house. Well, I still don't have one near my home, but I did find a good place while travelling recently - Ruby's. The food was good and prices reasonable. We stopped in twice (it was walking distance from our hotel) - once for dinner, once for breakfast. Both visits we had attentive servers. One visit a part of the order had to be remade, but it was done quickly and without any hassle. That same visit we commented on the cute paper pirate ship that was part of the kids menu - a minute later Alan brought a couple to us. It's little things like that, that make diners fun!

Very good diner with great 1950 to 1960s decor. We had a little comfort food to take a break from shopping. Shakes and burgers. Very tasty, quick service, and within 25 minutes, we were back shopping.

The atmosphere in ruby's diner is nice, like an old style diner (or a new way of how an old style diner looks like...) The food was average, we had burgers which were ok, but I don't think they justify the price. The fries were with free refill, but they were also not exceptionally good. It is a nice experience once, but I don't think it justifies the price of the meal.

It rivals (but doesn't surpass) In and Out burger. Any place that will put guacamole on my burger is ok by me.

After a long day of shopping, Ruby's Diner Citadel hits the hunger spot. The smell of real beef grilling attracts your senses to come eat. Themed and designed after American Diners of the 40's Swing Era, the atmosphere also adds to the authenticity. Ruby's burgers and meat have a unique flavor and smell to them - a modern experience to taste how good burgers used to be made; classic American food at it's best.

Do yourself a favour and stop at Ruby’s for a break from the outlet shopping and grab an ice cream. Super huge cones, very good price, great flavour. We were visiting from Australia and couldn’t believe how much ice cream you get for a few dollars. We will have to return to try the diner after loving the ice cream. Two small things to improve - a few seats would be good and the closed take out windows made up wonder if it was open. However, as soon a staff saw us they were quick to serve and very friendly.

A week ago I stopped by this dinner to satisfy my hunger and boy did Ruby's Diner do! I had a burger and bottomless fries might I add they were garlic fries, yummy! You'll be seeing my face more Ruby's Diner :).

This location is a good place for a meal, after shopping at all of the outlet stores. Often, I will meet up here with my sister or cousin-in-law, because it is mid-way between our locations.

I had the pumpkin hotcakes and they were delicious. My hubby had the sliders and they were also great. The service is friendly. Only downside might be the wait during busy times. Overall, a great to have a meal after shopping at the outlets.

We came for the 'true 1940's American diner' experience and were not disappointed, it was like going back in time. Really busy and rightly so yet meet and greet immediately and taken straight to our table. The service was great and the food excellent. the stand outs for us were, fried calamari, chicken Caesar salad, Classic Ruby Burger and the shakes. We would back again and again if we lived in the US.

After a long day of shopping at the Citadel, we came here for dinner. Food was diner food so it's ok but predictable. Staff were friendly and service was very good. It's nice.. uninspiring but nice. Would be happy to eat here again but wouldn't be too upset if I never did.

We had a Late lunch after shopping. Sandwitch was big and tastefull. Reasonable prices and worth to visit. Thanks

Crappy overpriced food with a terribly rude cashier. $10 bucks for an egg sandwich that had burnt bacon and cold eggs. Its no excuse that it is "airport food". Airport food can be good if the staff cared enough to put out a good product in a hospitable atmosphere.

While I’m more of a fine dining type, I found that when traveling for business AND trying to eat lite/healthy, I did ok here having both the Beyond meat burger & the turkey burger (no bun!) with cottage cheese as my side. Grateful to find a place I could eat.

So I had a layover at LAX on my way to Vegas. It definitely was the better choice of food options. My turkey club was great. They went a little heavy on t j e avocado but other than that it was a great sandwich. Great place to eat at this airport.

Came here after a day of shopping. Family likes diners. We got in just in time for the dinner rush. They were just cleaning up a table and then we were seated. We haven't been to Ruby's in over 4 years so it was great to be back. We started with peanut butter cup shake and chili to share. The A/C was cranked up and the chili unfortunately got cold. I also got a strawberry lemonade which I really liked. For mains, 3 of us got the Guacamole burger - it was great but a little dry. I got sweet potato fries which was great and the other 2 got fires which were also great. My son got mac and cheese which was good but too small - he was still hungry. Food was great. Server was friendly albeit a little slow due to the number of customers. Place was bustling with customers and so was a bit noisy. We'll be back.

Location is very clean and well kept. All waiters and waitresses are courteous and respond quickly. I had an Asian salad and soup. My family had cheeseburgers and fries. My boys had shakes. In all everything was absolutely delicious most especially the shakes.

I stopped in during a recent trip. I ordered a shake & burger as well as a Diet Coke. The amazing waitress had my shake out before my Diet Coke could even make it over. The food here is outstanding, the wait staff is friendly and the mall around the restaurant is very nice. I highly recommend trying Ruby's if you're in the area.

Easy to wander over after a huge shopping trip at the Citadel Outlets. Our family of six was seated in a large booth in the family section of the restaurant (much to our dismay) as everyone else around us had very young children who were quite loud and obnoxious. Not the restaurant's fault, but the quieter area was empty and I wish I had requested we move. Our 13 and 18 year old children are long past that delightful screaming and clambering stage, so we endured other parent's delightful screaming and clambering monsters attempting to enter our booth. We had their prams shoved up against us so it was impossible to access the toilet without physically moving the pram. Don't be afraid to speak up and move, because it can affect your experience of this otherwise great restaurant. The staff are awesome, very efficient and prompt. The food is filling and well made. I hate hamburgers but I will always eat one from Ruby's. Real value for money and we'll always be back when we visit from Australia.

Our last day in LA was spent shopping - and before we left for the Airport we thought we'd get something fast to eat and ordered a burger and shakes at Ruby's Diner. The food didn't come quickly - but boy oh boy it was certainly worth the wait. This was definitely the best burger I have ever eaten and the milkshakes were superb. If you are visitng the US as want a good burger - this is definitely the place to visit.

Nice 50's themed place in the Citadel outlet mall. Complete with an Nash auto when you walk in the door. Burgers are the highlight as are shakes. My chicken bacon cheese burger was very good and filling. The mall itself is much better than it use to be years ago when it was a pretty sorry place.

We've heard of this chain forever but none are near us, so when we found ourselves near one we diced to drop in for a burger. Atmosphere is fun, nice enough. Staff was good, but the food was barely average and even the milkshakes were lousy. Wondering how they can mess those up?

It's my first time visiting the restaurant, after along day shopping, we enter the restaurant the staff was very kind, I like the decorations, I tried the classic burger very delicious my kids tried chicken tenders I tasted also delicious, then i ask for coffee and my wife ask for banana split ice cream, whin we came they about to close but nobody tell us that we have to go they told us to take our time while we eat, also i like there way preparing the orders although the restaurant was crowded, we get our food fast. I'd like to thank everyone who working there for the hospitality

Popped in here after shopping at the Citadel. Great menu with lots of choice. Great service and good place to people watch.

while wandering along the citadel outlets is when i stumbled upon this restaurant. The atmoshpere is fun, great staff and awesome food being served. what i like the most and would recommend to all are the desserts specially the ice creams.

A classic style American diner and staff uniforms aswell. The food was amazing some of the best burgers and fries in our trip.

After a long day ..shopping, we settled down for some yummy sweet potatoes fries, burger etc. the place has a retro feel, very neat, tidy and the waitress was so pleasant, she made us so comfortable and was always ready to help. Prices very reasonable and the portions are big( from a British point of view)..lol . My ill daughter loved their shake.

I love to visit Ruby's every time we are in LA. Burgers and food always so good and just love the milkshakes. Service couldn't be faulted. Brilliant!

The burgers here are mouth watering. If you need to get your grease fix in, I would recommend this place. The fries are very delicious and meat is well-done. The milk-shakes make a perfect complement with your burger so do not forget to order that as well. Service was great with a friendly staff.

Ruby's is one of my favortite places at the Citadel. The burgers are great an the value is good. They ahve sevaral Vegan options and Low Carb Options. And occasioanally you can get kobe beef (Noimal extra fee, but well worth it). The 50's-60's style is cool and I've yet to get bad service. Seated fast, served reasonably, place is sparkling clean.

The bunn was cold. They did not put in both kind of cheese. The fries where not that good, but again ok.

We had a couple of hours between flights at LAX and found this diner near the Alaskan Airlines counter. We got our dinner to take away so we could take it on the flight with us. The service was fast and friendly and the food excellent. Very good value for the price paid. The diner is just like the old diners you see in the movies. Worth the visit if you have the time.

We keep our memories on this place with the guys - great diner and great service from Keli. Thank you for having us! The greatest milkshake in California)

Fun atmosphere! Stopped for lunch at the cute diner. Food was delicious as was the milkshake for dessert!

Excellent American Burger Bar with so much more to offer with good value for money and lots of choice.

Skip this one. Located inside LAX, this is similar to a Johnny Rockets. We had standard burgers and fries. Food was meh, fries were cold, out of every condiment on our table, table was dirty, had to clean it ourselves, cashier was not pleasant.

We skipped breakfast this morning and decided on having lunch at the Citadel Outlets. Ruby’s is a typical modern day take on a 60’s diner. The restaurant is sparking and the staff uniforms are immaculate. Standard diner fare at higher prices but you pay for the experience and it’s good. We enjoyed so will you, it’s novelty dining.

We all chose a different breakfast option but each meal was freshly cooked and plentiful. Staff were lovely and it was good value.

Not a bad experience! We ordered food of the kids and ourselves. I thoroughly recommend the Ahi Tuna salad. It looked delicious (although strangely it had tabasco sauce as dressing) We ordered the garlic fries which were initially missed although our waitress noticed this and rectified fairly quickly. We did have to ask for the kids drinks that were supposed to come with their meal that may have been forgotten. Nevertheless - the food tasted good and the little cars they give the kids on arrival helps distract the little ones until the food arrives. We enjoyed the experience and would head back again.

My partner and I went here recently as we were staying in the area. We were seated promptly and ordering didn't take long either. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered two burgers and the buffalo cauliflower bites. Burgers were nice, came with free refill fries. We both didn't like the cauliflower bites as we were expecting the deep fried cauliflower to be crunchy but the batter was all mushy. We informed our waitress who talked to the management who then took that off our bill which was much appreciated.

Ruby's Diner has a 50's theme motif and is family friendly. It offers a wide variety of delicious food at reasonable prices. My favorite selection is the Seafood Combo comprised of generous portions of battered codfish fillets and jumbo shrimp accompanied by refillable fries and cole slaw. Ruby's Diner is also well-known for its Milk Shakes which are quite delicious. Yum! Through its Jitterbug Platinum Club, special discounts are offered to seniors; and an e-club provides other special promotions. Ruby's Diner is a real gem nestled among the Citadel Outlet Stores. Eureka!

We came to the outlet mall to escape the traffic (insane!) and found this gem! The food was delish and the service great! Milkshakes were great, and refillable fries? Yum! It was inexpensive but very good!

I would give this place a solid 3.5 stars. It was actually better than I expected. True, the decor/concept of this chain is a little cheesy, but this is a nice place to grab a bite when you're out shopping at the Citadel Outlet. I had a turkey burger which was pretty good, not dry like many restaurants that you go to. Wasn't really a fan of the fries.....My waitress was very nice and provided good service even though it was the lunch rush.

great food, nice to see shoppers buzzing all around the mall while you're eating. Great location too, near the nice Doubletree Hotel.

We ate at Ruby's following a day of shopping at the Citadel Outlets. Cool themed 50s diner. Traditional American food - burgers, fries, shakes etc. Delicious food, reasonably priced and served quickly. Attentive staff.

I grabbed lunch at the Citadel location while shopping at the outlet mall. The food was very meh - cold fries, burnt breakfast potatoes, etc. The burger however was relatively tasty - I opted for the cobb burger and it wasn't a total disappointment. The value is also quite good, however I won't likely be returning to this establishment. The service is very basic and food is meh.

We visited this place during our shopping expedition and were drawn by the décor and food offered. The service was quick and friendly and the food as described. Great pace for a burger and shake or something a little bit different. There are many pieces of memorabilia inside the store to look at as well as the wait staff dressed in older costumes to fit the era.

Me and my partner dined here today midway through our shopping... Service was outstanding and the burger was up there with the best I've had. Our waitress was very kind and not a bad looker either... Would definitely recommend

It is in the Citadel outlets. Place is one of the very few eating options. We had lunch there. Service and food both were good.

Ruby's Diner...normally a decent eatery seems to be riding on its history. Food is mediocre and service is spotty. Since they are the only sit down restaurant at the Citadel Outlet Mall, they have a bit of an exclusive. I've eaten at a half dozen or so Ruby's and most are pretty decent. Staff seems to wander about, food is blah. In a pinch it's ok, but don't expect anything fantastic.

There aren't many options in this mall. I bet that when they first planned for this outlet, they underestimated the power of shopping and they added crappy food. Certainly, between Ruby's and the Johnny Rockets and the crowded Panda Express or the Starbucks its the way to go... Dang! Imagine how the other food choices are... Its the only outlet we have in the LA area!! a touristic and local outlet that has HORRIBLE food. Everything in the food court looks dirty and old. Kick them out! We deserve better options.

We shared shrimps which were great. There were many options, some were fried but others were not. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty.

I really enjoyed my breakfast. It was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was good. The decor is 50's diner, but with a car inside! Very cool. I would eat here again the next time I'm in the neighborhood

We decided to find somewhere for lunch before hitting the shops at the Citadel. We hadn't quite got the map figured out (so couldn't find the foodcourt) but saw Ruby's Diner and figured it would do. And it did - the food was fine (good diner food, basically - all the things you'd expect), the atmosphere was bustling and fun, and the service was quick. Very enjoyable.

We had lunch here after shopping at the Citadel outlets. The menu doesn't have anything healthy on it, so we ended up eating burgers. Would be great to at least offer a bit more variety, but the waitress was very nice. Service was very fast, which is great if you are shopping.

We went to this Ruby today for lunch. I pour out some 'ketchup', but spicy to my friend. I asked service to change this ketchup bottle, she didn't believe me! I warned her that someone put wrong spicy source into the ketchup bottle, she still said, "really?" "really?? We didn't compain ketchup, but this kind of service is really not good.

This was my family's first visit to Ruby's Diner. The food was very good and fresh. We all had burgers. The wait staff was attentive and the restaurant was clean and inviting. We were seated promptly. Would definitely return.

Ate breakfast here to pass the time while waiting for Citadel Outlets to open for business. The huevos rancheros were just as good as I remember them, and the service fast and friendly! At 8:15am, there are few better choices available.

Stopped in here whilst look around the mall. It was very busy with diners escaping the heat. We waited a short time and were seated. Service was prompt and friendly. Usual diner type food, burgers ect. We had a Asian chicken salad and a burger. Good food promptly delivered. Not expensive either.

My wife and I go to Ruby's Diner regularly for lunch or dinner. The service is always good and the food is great and well priced. Go hungry and get a milk shake to finish off the meal it is the best!

I had to get a quick bite to eat. Came by and ordered a cobb salad to go. The waitress asked if I wanted the dressing tossed with it or on the side. I wanted it tossed with it. I got the salad and was on my way. I got to work and sat to eat the salad and it was dry as toast, no dressing. I couldn't believe it. It might have been good but no dressing kind of ruins a salad. No time to go back and complain.

I've always enjoyed eating here and have tried many different menu items. The excellent service and fun, upbeat ambiance add to the restaurant's appeal. The classic burger, fries, and shake combo are always a hit!

A busy spot but worth the wait. We were seated within 5mins and couldn't fault the service. With an extensive menu, the food was very good. Many low carb options and a helpful list of Calorie Counters for each meal. With a "customer knows best" attitude the staff really served us well, making suggestions and quickly bringing food to the table. Not the classiest establishment but for good lunch tucker, we'd go back again!

Went to the outlet mall, and saw this place, since I had never visited a Classic Americian Diner thought I'd give it a go. The setting was amazing, straight out of the history books / films. Plenty of staff on hand and was seated promptly. As I opened the menu I saw photos of the food and though "oh no..." Anyway ordered a coffee & Ahi Burger, this burger came out and I was speechless! I have never been to somewhere to eat where the food served looks 500% better than the photos in the menu (and the photos looked good) It was fresh prepared, freshly cooked and tasted amazing, adding to that I went ahead and tried Rubys hot sauce, it was not so hot for me yet sweet too perfect compliment to this burger. Great job guys, great price, great food & great service!

A friendly restaurant that offers consistently good food. The food was fast and tasty, there were good portions on the plate and refills on the fries and soft drinks. The strawberry lemonade is amazing.

We went here whilst shopping in citadel outlets and wow the food was amazing!! Got a massive burger and sweet potato fries which were refillable and tasted great!! Would definitely recommend this place as had good choice too! We finished our meal off with a snickers peanut butter shake which somehow topped our meal! So good!!

The hamburgers are excellent. Great fries. They have several different types. Great prices. Excellent service. Super friendly staff.

Wonderful food and excellent service. Salad was extra huge. Highly recommend after or while shopping

Ate here after shopping and let's just say I had the best tasting Hershey chocolate shake ever I had to order another. The Cobb salad was amazing as was the Cobb burger and all the other burgers and fries. Service was great and very good value.

A good place to take the kids. A bright, retro look with a large menu, good food at reasonable prices. A fund place to eat in, good staff.

The food and the atmosphere were great. We had a party of 8 for a business lunch and sat outside on the patio. The waiter was excellent and the food was delicious.

We had a nice cheap breakfast here before a day of shopping. The food was yummy and great value. Kids loved it.

Ate hear because not many eating outlets at the Citadel was was pleasantly surprised. Huge servings as we have become accustomed to in USA and food was great and service with a smile.

I tried to change things up a little bit with the fish and chips and was quickly reminded that just because you're close to an ocean, it doesn't mean what you get served won't be coming out of a box.

the food was yum as, the service was impecable, and every one was extremely lovely...

Poached eggs & ham and an English muffin with bacon were very tasty. Good butter too which was a surprise. Service was efficient. Would recommend.

After seeing multiple diners named Ruby's we decided to stop for lunch one day while shopping at the outlet center. Boy were we surprised. The food was delicious. The staff was amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better lunch. The burgers, food and other items were all top par! Our server was the best. She was always at our table making sure our food was great and refilling our drinks. This was the place to go! And it was pretty affordable!

We just loved Ruby's & visited twice during our 10 day holiday. The Strawberry milkshake is old school perfection, with really pieces of strawberry in it & served with whipped cream & a cherry on top. The burgers are delicious, the fries are fresh & the onion rings with ranch sauce are to die for! We just loved the atmosphere in this fun place & the service was really good as well. Our girls loved the Rub's gumballl machines as well. Great place for an American diner experience!

Great American made burgers here. Quick service. Prices are above average. Mostly you meet a very nice server. Everybody loves there job at Ruby's. All round good lunch.

Super cute retro style diner at the Citadel shopping outlet in LA, we stopped here for lunch after some retail therapy. The service was good, the food really tasty - one of the best cheeseburgers I've had in the United States. Averagely priced, more on the dear side ($20+ for a burger and fries).

Stopped in after some shopping with the family. Enjoyed a BLTA and refillable fries. Kids enjoyed a cheese burger and cesar salad with chicken. My wife had their cheese burger. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The food was cooked to order and full of flavor. The interior of the facility was clean and well kept. A must try if you want really good food and awesome service.

Classic style dinner next to fwy with easy access in the Citadel. They open early so great before getting to LA.

Went here after shopping at the outlet stores. The burger I ordered for lunch was absolute delicious. Free refill of sodas. It has this old American diner vibe, what made it even more fun for us Europeans. Would recommend this diner.

The food is ok, kinda expensive. Portion size is good though. It is the only sit down restaurant in Citadel Mall.

Quirky 50s style diner atmosphere. Food was yummy with generous sized portions. We shared a cookies and cream milkshake which was delicious! Definitely want to visit again.

wow, i've been to many diners with my kids but this one beats them all! we had a great time here and there was plenty of room at the oversized booth to accommodate our shopping 'll be sure to look for ruby's in PA and NJ next time we visit and will certainly look them up in CA again also!

We did a late lunch after shopping at the Citadel outlet. Service excellent, food delish, price reasonable in this all American diner with retro setting. We had the fish n chips with clam chowder and burgundy steak with diner salad. Both came in big portions and totally delicious.

This is a prominent restaurant with beautiful service at an affordable price. You can't miss it as it's right smack at Citadel outlet area. The staff literally explained to us whom to look for in the case no one attended to us just because one of the staff had to go on her designated break...that's service excellence to me.

Excellent meals, good value and fun atmosphere. Other than their great burgers, they have a wide selection of great salads and soups. Staff was quick and efficient.

you have to have a big appetite to consume this much food. But the staff is friendly, helpful and standby with containers to leave with remainders.

Stopped in for dinner while at the Citadel Outlet stores on 11/22/15. It was a about a 20 minute wait to be seated, but the outlets were busy since it was Sunday. They seated us (2) outside at a small table. The food on the menu looked delicious. We ordered the Irish nachos, I had chicken tenders with garlic fries, and my friend had the seafood platter with sweet potato fries. I also ordered the double chocolate chip shake which was the best thing of the whole order. Although the food looked delicious it tasted less than stellar. They offer "free refills" on fries but no thanks because my garlic fries were awful and my friend's sweet potato fries were too. We both decided that since it was a diner, maybe we should have opted for the burgers. As for the service, also less than stellar. We saw our server three times; 1:to take our orders;2: to bring our food; and 3: to bring us our check. She never came back to refill our waters, or even ask if everything was good. Would I return here; probably not, unless I was starving and there was no other restaurant open. Next time I will opt for the food court. I only gave it a 3 star because the shake was delicious!!!

3 people, drinks, starter and main - $60! You cannot go wrong in this place. Fantastic service as well. Loads of booths. A good menu. Serves beers as well. Big place that can cater for loads. Part of a chain as I have eaten in one before. This is definitely a repeat visit place. Well done Ruby’s Diner

Absolutely LOVE Ruby's diner - i try and visit overtime I am in LA. Food is Fab and the atmosphere is great.

I really like their shakes here. Overall I'm a pretty healthy eater, but whenever I visit the Citadel, I typically will order a shake to go and walk around with it while I shop OR stop by for one before heading home. The shakes are really good. Enjoy! I'm a fellow traveler so I appreciate when other people have given me tips/recommendations while in a new city. If you like shopping and food them the citadel outlets are a must as they have the best of both.. Ruby's is a great place to eat, great portions and high quality food.. a must if in the area..

located in the citadel outlet mall. fast friendly service. burgers and sides were good. banana split was really good. hope you like the food pictures with this post

If the rating was only for the food, this would have received a rating of excellent. however, the place was a little busy during our visit, and waiters happened to be quite forgetful. What I liked: Classic, diner style restaurant and menu. Great food selection, including a decent kids menu. Very good portions and good value. Nice, fresh tasting food (had the vegwich and the roast turkey sandwich) What to watch for/could be improved: Service was borderline rude and rushed, yet it took forever to get our drink order. As said before, staff were a little forgetful on what seemed to be a fairly busy late afternoon. All in, I highly recommend this place to grab a bite while shopping at the Outlets

I ate here one night and the food was good and fast. Pretty quick service and a fair menu to pick from. Better then fast food, but not as good as a complete sit down dinner.

Delicious gluten free burger. Unfortunately garlic fries were way too garlicky! Will look out for another Rubys diner during our holiday.

Love the food, burgers....and sweet potatoes, milk shake. for sure it's a place where we will go again and again.

We ate here on our way home from Hollywood. The diner is a great old school diner complete with a car in the entrance. We were seated quickly and our server was amazing. She didn't stop the whole time we were there. if she was not bringing out food or drinks she was checking her tables were ok and had everything they needed. We both had burgers and boy were they good burgers.. the unlimited fries refills was a novel touch and the desert we ordered was so big if we had realised we would have shared it. Everything was clean and tidy and the servers who weren't busy we're cleaning the sides and the menus, it was nice to see pride being taken. The plus for this restaurant is that it is within the citadel outlet so you can eat and shop at the same time..

Went to the mall & we stopped here for breakfast. Its one of those made to look like a 1950s style diners - buts it's done well & the girls are all dressed in uniformed style of that time I had the corn beef hash & the Mrs had Avacado cheese bacon melts - both were huge of course & very tasty Staff were polite & efficient & our waitress Kimberley kept the coffee coming - total bill was around $30 - I would recommend

We came here on a recommendation by my parents who visited the diner 4 years ago. They had told us how amazing this place was, how good the food was and how friendly the staff were, however we were still blown away by just how accurate that was. A true American Diner experience - make sure you put this one on your list and make the trip to Citadel to give Ruby's a go!

We had different shakes burgers and sliders. Food was very good. Service was friendly and a cliché diner ambience. Liked the experience.

I did not expect to find such a nice place in the middle of outlet mall, but it was good that I did. We ate breakfast here and it was cheap and tasty. The decorations were awesome and the music made the place feel like it was a classic.

We were staying at the DoubleTree nearby and wanted "brunch". The menu was full of choices and we were all able to get what we wanted. Diner food, so, of course, it was great, but diner food ;)
Great food and Service
Had never been here before but my husband loves diners so of course we had to go. We had 2 teens with us and one very picky one with allergies and they were able to accommodate. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly and quick. Never a drink went dry. loved this place. Would absolutely recommend this place for Burgers, Fries, shakes and I had a cobb salad. Loved it.
