I would rank Rudy’s up there as one of the best for brisket. There bbq sauce is also spot on. You will not be disappointed if you stop in for a bite. Great place!

Just because it is a gas station don't snub it. Rudy's offers some of the best barbecue in town. The staff is always friendly and restaurant is simple and clean. I like lean brisket, turkey, sausage and ribs. Rudy's quality control is great. I consistly get exactly what I ordered. Sometimes when you order lean some of the barbacue joints don't take it seriously. Rudy's does every time. Their barbecue sauce is also good because it is not sweet or buttery. It is peppery but not spicy just delicious. If you happen to be at Rudy's around breakfast their breakfast tacos are also a treat.

This is our second time getting Rudy’s on a Texas trip. It’s delicious! We think about it when we are back in Boston. We’ve shipped their sauce and rub to our house many times. This is real Texas barbecue!

Set in a gas station setting, the food was delicious! What a fun experience! The food is served in plastic crates with waxed paper in a picnic style. The service at the counter was fun and engaging. Get the creamed corn and the beef brisket. Wow! Just yummy!

Rudy's in Austin is my favourite place to stop for brisket. I always order the extra moist with fresh potatoes (to die for!) and coleslaw. Note: Not all Rudy's have the fresh potatoes and extra moist brisket options. All the locations I have been to in Austin and Round Rock do, but San Antonio does not have extra moist or the fresh potatoes. For my taste, the regular brisket is too dry.

This was our first time eating at Rudy’s and we wanted a snack. We ordered ½ rack of baby back ribs. WOW!!! They were so moist and delicious. The meat was so tender that it fell off the bones. The BBQ is so-so and has a slight kick to it. It came with slices of white bread. The potato salad was good, too. All of the employees were very friendly. This was our first meal after arriving in Austin. It was a great way to start our time in Texas! Yum!!!

A visit to Austin would not be complete without a trip to Rudy’s! Meat dishes we love, beef brisket moist, the turkey, ribs and pulled pork. On the sides, the. Asked beans are a must, new potatoes, and the slaw (although I add a bit of extra vinegar because it’s a bit too sweet for me). There bbq sauce, excellent!!!

The service was amazing make sure to tell them you have never been there before and they will roll out the red carpet for you and let you taste anything. Highly recommend this spot

Recently been doing the curbside and it is working well. I thank them for their service. It is via the phone and then they send you a text. All the staff has been friendly. They pack bread, sauce, pickles and onions plus whatever you order. I am so grateful they are doing curbside. We haven't been inside a restaurant or store since March 10, 2020. The food is as good as it always has been. Always fast and easy.

Rudy's is proof Texas has mediocre BBQ. Lack of flavor and long wait time for mediocre food is not worth the experience. Don't recommend.

Ordered over a $175 dollars worth of BBQ from RUDY’S BBQ IN Killeen Texas on 14 April 2022 for Easter Weekend BBQ Chicken not cooked properly BLOOD dripping from leg of chicken and total embarrassment to my visiting family for Easter weekend, call manager and they said they couldn’t do anything without photo, Don’t buy BBQ from RUDY’S in Killeen Texas they will sale you BLOODY DRIPPING BBQ and not refund your $$ money!

Delicious barbeque! Amazing cream corn! Great beans and coleslaw! Did we enjoy our food? Absolutely fabulous! We ate in the big attached room with long picnic tables. Lots of people but lines are fast to order and get food and tables are in abundance. You feel like you are on a picnic with your group. Not only a fun time but delicious food. Not cheap.... but the food is excellent.

Very typical Texan country style place that looks more like a barn than a restaurant .. it is very fun indeed. A Unique Experience to explore. All the meat are excellent. Staff is very fun and make you very welcome from the start while screaming and serving you ... butcher style !!! :-)

We love Rudy's BBQ. They have the best breakfast tacos, they have them made from all their meats. They add eggs and cheese and is you want you can get the salsa. We like the turkey egg and cheese the best. Their food is exceptional?

Rudy’s one of those places that consistently good BBQ, is definitely not fancy, and fun for all ages. Open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Brisket, sausage, chicken, and a wide range of sides are available. However, one of my favorite things there is their sauce!

Don’t let the convenience store fool you. First timer gets a boisterous welcome and samples. Totally works! Loved the turkey and impressed with the guy at the counter. Positive, engaging and killin it for a $12 order.

Nice casual place. Great brisket, baby back ribs, links, and sides. Very busy with a lot of take out orders. Friendly service, will definitely be back.

The Austin part of the fam ordered a bunch of Rudy’s takeout so we could all watch the Cotton Bowl game together. Everything was great. I was disappointed some years back when Rudy’s closed their zdallas restaurant - sure wish they would come back.

Always excellent. Usually get a take home meal (brisket, sausage, corn, cole slaw, new potatoes, potato salad, bar b q sauce. Always great: many locations.

This is a standard option for us if we have a crowd and need to grab some takeout bbq. I also stop here a lot on way to work to get some morning tacos. Never excites, never disappoints. Huge tables could easily accommodate a last minute crowd.

When we come to Austin (3-4 times/year) we are never disappointed picking up BBQ for the family. It is consistently good and makes for a good quick meal for the family back at the house.

Visited here with a customer. Seemed like an iconic thing to do in Austin. Our customer seemed happy to visit also. The food was excellent. Near sold by the half pound. The brisket and the sausage was top grade. It’s fairly basic inside. But feels very authentic. Really enjoyed my visit. My customer left happy also.

Brisket is average. Creamed corn is good. No comfortable seating. There are better BBQ places in Austin for the price.

Rudy's restaurants are historically at "gas stations". That said, this is a popular place to eat. There is a line of people, but the line moves quickly because the employees know what they are doing. They do not use plates but waxed paper like you get at the meat market; both to serve the meats and for you to eat on with plastic cutlery. sides are put in bowls. You order the bbq meat by the pound so you can have as much or as little as you wish. There isn't table service, just at the order counter.

Took family to Rudy's BBQ for the first time. Sampled some items before ordering. Ordered smoke turkey, brisket, jalapeno sausage, spicy mix, beans and coleslaw. Everything was just ok. Nothing stood out with flavor. The BBQ sauce was good. Price was reasonable.

This is our goto place when it comes to breakfast tacos almost every weekend. Always quick and easy in easy out for the perfect taco fix.

The sliced beef is fantastic. The sausage is not..... It's practically red in color.....The sauce is also really heavy

Rudy's is a chain of Texas style Bar-B-Q palaces. Each one is similar with great smoked meats and tasty sides. Cafeteria style in a rustic setting. We had brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and turkey. All very good. Sides of beans, slaw, and potato salad were good. Prices are reasonable with ample seating and parking.

Was only in town for 2 days/1 night but glad to have had time to make it to Rudy's. Food was excellent and yes, we received the out-of-towner "Rookie" treatment! Would definitely recommend Rudy's if you want some Austin BBQ!!

There are many Rudys around the area, but they are a must-see. The food is great and it is very, very casual. The turkey and brisket were delish and my husband loved the cream corn.

Great Texas Barbeque and service for a catered meal. Food was hot and served in a timely manner. beautiful presentation. Very Pleased, will use their catering service again.

With so many great places in Austin, why would anyone go to a less than average chain BBQ joint? It doesn't say mush about your BBQ when people, the group I was with, talk mostly about you cream corn side.

Rudy’s is consistently a great restaurant to enjoy smoked meats. I especially like the St Louis Pork Ribs and the Smoked Turkey. Their ribs are always moist and tender and the meat falls off the bone with minimal effort. The turkey is the best in town hands-down. Fortunately for us, Rudy’s is within walking distance of our central Austin home. Damn we’re lucky! Don’t hesitate to to try one of their nearby locations for a treat. Enjoy!

All i can say is the sign doesn’t lie. I would not recommend if you’ve ever had actually good BBQ. Not many options.

We went to Rudy's and really enjoyed it. The employees were so friendly and nice. since it was our first time, they gave us samples of everything. the food was delicious! we really enjoyed it!

Long rows of picnic tables and meat by the pound is how Rudy’s does BBQ. Not a dance place but delicious.

Have supported Rudy’s for many years. But something has happened. It is now terrible. Cold food. Restroom are filthy. Was always impressed with cleanliness.

We ate at 3 different BBQs in Texas (Kreuz, Rudy's and Salt Lick) and while all were different they all were excellent. When you get to Rudy's there is a line to order and receive your food but it moves pretty quick. You wait at the counter for your food and they get it together pretty quick. The brisket was excellent as well as the other meats we got. They have beers and other drinks and BBQ sauce if you like although it's great as is!

There isn’t a Rudy’s from Phoenix... so I’ll put it here... really great place to eat. I’m sure the ones in Texas are just as good.

Our friends from Seattle visit often and always want some BBQ from Ruders as they call it. The food is consistently high quality and the experience is fun. While other places may have an authentic BBQ joint atmosphere or a big-name pitmaster, Rudy's is the locals' choice most of the time.

My family visited Rudy’s for dinner last week. We love the sausage, briskets, cream corn, potatoes, and banana pudding. Great BBQ, highly recommend!

This is one of the most popular BBQ restaurants in town. It's not fancy or over-decorated with antiques. You can get gas, park, and eat at the same place. You get a big plastic tray or container where you get everything on it by the pound. Try to order at least 1/2 pound of their popular eats (brisket, baby back ribs, jalapeno sausage, and creamy corns).

Don't think Rudy's is just barbecue at a gas station. It's much more than that. It's a full restaurant, and it's definitely worth a stop. We always enjoy the brisket, sausage & turkey. I love the creamed corn, and the banana pudding is a perfect finish. If you're passing it by, you're missing out. PS - I've heard the breakfast tacos are also top notch, if it's too early for lunch.

I had a medium portion of the green chili stew and was disappointed. Very little pork. Wasn't very satisfying. I prefer the green chili stew in Santa Fe. The full portion of the sausage and it had no smoke and was bland. The pulled pork sandwich without any sauce had no flavor. Had no rub. Pretty tasteless. Overall a below average experience. I won't return.

Fast and good. Always friendly and fast service Price is right !!! Very good morning tacos Try bacon and egg with corn tortilla !!!

Rudy’s prepared a take out meal for my moms final party at her LTAC. Everything had to be specially wrapped and they went the extra mile to make it work for us. The food was great as well. Thanks !

Rudy's can be a real treat or a disappointment. This time was disappointing. Moist brisket was not so tasty, regular was ok, not remarkable.

I used to think Rudy’s BBQ was the best BBQ. Now that I live in Texas and have tried Texas BBQ at multiple restaurants, I have other favorites. What I love about Rudy’s is the consistent service (between states and locations), sissy sauce and you know what you’re getting with quality every time.

Our first visit here. I was worried it would take a while since the parking lot was full and a long line at the drive up window. When we walked in one of the men asked if this was our first time. He then explained how simple it was to order and get our food. All the staff were fantastic. I had a brisket sandwich and my wife had the turkey sandwich plus some beans. Not much waiting in line. They are fast here. They do not put pork in their beans which is great for us. They weigh all the sandwiches so you get plenty of meat. It is cut in front of you. The sides are extra. There are deserts also. I was amazed at how big the restaurant was on the inside. Plenty of tables to sit at. Their sauces are on the table. There is a table with the extras for your sandwich. They had special Tesas Strong plastic cups to get and part of the sale went to the Kerrville flood relief. This was some of the best brisket I have had. My wife enjoyed her turkey. We will be back for more BBQ.

I always tell people that my fav BBQ is attached to a gas station and then when I finally get them to come with me, they take back all the mean things they said about me. If Rudy's was an adult female, I'd propose to her. Eat everything here, you will not regret it.

GREAT Bar-b-que but even better sides. Love the creme style corn. I always get the marbled brisket... yummy

Enjoyed going here. They are helpful and offer samples if you aren't sure what kind of meat you want. I liked the brisket best. It is noisy here but plenty of seating. It isn't my favorite BBQ place but it is one I would go to again.

Some of the best BBQ I have ever eaten. Was blown away by it. Really cool spot too, you pick up a few iced beers from the fridge while in the queue, (they have openers fixed every few feet on the railings), if it's your first time you will get samples of anything you want before you order, everything is ordered by the 1/2Lb. Can't speak for Texans but as a visitor to the state, it certainly appeared to personify the spirit of the Texan BBQ. Brisket is to die for, and strangely enough, the turkey (of all things) was amazing. Highly recommend.

Awesome moist brisket and good chopped! Loved the beer selections and great environment. Mix in some onions and pickles to mix it up

The restaurant has large seating capacity and mulitple stations to order. Because it was our first time we sampled some of the meats, and side dishes. My favorite was the corn it was creamy and very tasteful. Overall because we were a party of 11 people, we all tried different dishes and we all enjoyed the food. The service was good and fun. Clean.

Breakfast tacos are really tasty. Make sure you come early to get some otherwise they'll be sold out before you know it. 10/10 definitely recommend!

This is the second Rudy's I've been to (the first in Texas), and it did not disappoint. Everything on the menu looked great, but the moist brisket and spicy chopped were the best. Also, the side dishes, potato salad, cole slaw, and the bean salad were very good. Rudy's is a very casual place, and that's what we expected. The person who took our order was very helpful and patiently explained everything on the menu and offered us samples to taste before we decided what to order.

Rudy's is a go-to for great barbecue. Favorite is the extra moist brisket. Classic sides, coleslaw, Potato salad, beans, cream corn, and they always throw in plenty of bread for a sandwich.

No wait. We announced it was our first time. We were treated to an orientation and some wonderful samples of the meats. We received some more coaching and made selections that did not disappoint. Each item was a treat. We had the moist brisket, ribs and sausage with potato salad and sweet corn. The sauces were fantastic. and the added onion and pepper treats added to the taste and experience. Hats off to the pit master because the BBQ was absolutely on point. We had an excellent meal and experience for a moderate price.

I really liked how they let newcomers try the different items before they order for the first time. The moist brisket was great. The ribs were pretty good too. Everyone liked a different flavor in their sauce....I wasn’t crazy about theirs but it was still good overall. Creamed corn and cole slaw were very good. The only thing that was disappointing is that they don’t give you rib rub. They want you to buy a big shaker of it if you want to have any on your ribs. I wish they would have put some on, like everybody else, when you order ‘dry’ ribs.

A good friend lives nearby and I visit about once a year. There's always a lunch at Rudy's at least once a visit. For those that don't have time to leave Westlake or are in the area this place is a great place for a simple BBQ meal for either a rookie or a professional eater. LIke the pickle bar and condiments. Always a winner

We went with a variety of different meats and sides and it was all delicious and fast. The creamed corn and moist brisket along with the sauce were my personal favorites, but nothing was bad at all. I would recommend and you don’t have to wait in line for hours for BBQ. They are very efficient and it’s a well run restaurant.

I had brisket & sausage. It was average. Did not like the sauce. I am a BBQ lover but this did not satisfy me.

Rudy's has great breakfast tacos in the Austin tradition. Try the chopped, egg & cheese with jalapenos and some salsa. For bbq - the lean brisket is excellent (great rub) and the hottie sausage link is delicious. The backyard area is very relaxing and a nice space to relax with friends & families. Parking can be a little tight at peak times, but not bad compared to downtown.

Good bbq and fixings. Quick, clean and friendly service. Large seating area,go early does get crowded.

The baby back ribs were excellent, but the smoke potato was the best, also had the turkey, very moist and juicy.

My family loves Rudy’s moist brisket and amazing cream corn. The potato salad is good but the corn is to die for. Yummy!

Rudy's is a fun place. Great for hanging out with friends and having a few beers. Good food, order by the pound, bar b que classics.

When I had just moved to Austin, a girl from work took me to Rudy's to educate me on the fine art of Texas BBQ. Walking in, I knew I was going to chow down as the smell of the sauce was incredible. She said "try the brisket." I'd never had brisket before and it just looked like sliced meat to go along with the strange 'wonder bread-ish' white bread sandwich slices I saw on everyone's trays. Does she want me to make a sandwich with it? What the hell is so special about that? I admit, I was a fool at this BBQ game, but I took her advice and OMG that brisket was good! Even today, I'm back in NY and if I go to a BBQ place, I order brisket (even though I know it won't compare to Rudy's), it changed me forever. Heck, I'd even make a sandwich with it if I could. You'll see lots of locals with serious looks on their faces making short work of their food, so don't count this casual place out...its a winner...and don't forget to order the brisket, you'll thank me later.

We were super hungry and decided to give this a try. It was a bad choice. Brisket was dry. Baby back ribs as tender but lacked flavor. Sausage links were the only redeeming food in this establishment. The lady said they are known for their creamed corn. I must disagree. It was not memorable at all.

Placed second in our weekend foodie tour of austin for bbq. Like the brisket both kinds but not as smoked as we like more heavily peppered and bbq’d but still very good food. Cole slaw was basic but standard. Barbecue sauce was quite savory. Pulled pork was a bit too heavy with mustard to really taste the meat. Turkey was very dry-but hey you are in TX eat beef! Atmosphere is fun and clean with lots of seating. Cashier was super helpful and had us Rudy’s virgins taste everything first-not your typical happenings at the register but very appreciated!

Rudy’s has locations all around Austin and has always provided a reliably delicious bbq option including yummy sides.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but this place has the best BBQ Brisket. Try the moist kind. From the lines, everything must be great. Definitely try it. You won’t be disappointed.

When hungry for some real Texas BBQ - Rudy's is the place. Bring friends, family, co-workers, they all will remember you for ever...for the great stuff served at Rudy's.

I have done a few curbside pickup in the last year and it has been working well. First dine-in visit yesterday since covid. Must have of brisket extra moist is always great. This round the baby back ribs is dryer than I preferred. I do like the Covid protocol they are following.

This place is nothing fancy to look at but the food was tasty and the counter service fast. Long tables seat multiple parties and everything is served on paper. A bit like a picnic.

The Prime rib was good with lots of flavor and not over cooked. The brisket was good but not great . The St Louis ribs were tender, moist, and very flavorful ! The green stew was probably the best thing I tasted! The coleslaw was some of the best I have eaten lately. The smoked potato was large and tasted great ! I would definitely eat here again . I wish they gave you paper plates. It would make eating so much easier than trying to eat off the cardboard little bowls or paper they give you. The staff members working during our visit were all very friendly and courteous.

Rudy’s is always solid. Brisket ( regular and moist), turkey, jalapeño links and cream corn. Kids like the Rice Krispie treat and chocolate pudding. I think we pretty much get the same order every time we go there because we know it is going to be delicious.

I visit Austin about 4-5 x a year. Every single visit, I stop at Rudy's and buy several pounds of moist cut brisket and baby back ribs to take back with me to California. And of course my stop just happens to coincide with lunch time so also get our fix and enjoy a great lunch there as well! When I post on social media my whereabouts on my trips to Austin, I had to stop posting about my Rudy's stops because there were hungry friends in CA waiting for me to get home!

Being from the Netherlands, I'm not too familiar with brisket but my God it's good. It's a nice place to go to. Always busy I think but toy are ready to go in no time. Definitely going again

Delicious moist brisket. Side dishes and desserts in a cooler to the right of registers. Cobbler and banana pudding was excellent. Lots of seating options. Nice lit up patio. Playground and gas station near by.

Visiting Austin, we couldn't wait to have barbeque. Rudy's was our second place we tried and we were not disappointed. From a friendly greeting upon entering to the most helpful behind the counter server. We ordered $82 worth of food that turned out to be delicious. From pork ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, salads, beans and even a loaf of bread - asking if we need another loaf. The cost was so reasonable - if we ordered the same amount at two other places it probably would of cost $25 - $50 more.

But I like to think I know barbecue. Recently ate at their location near the San Antonio airport. The website didn't work properly and could not bring up the menu. I guess I just assumed a barbecue place would have cold beer to go with hot barbecue. But not so here. Ordered pork ribs and the brisket. I hate to even write this but it was the worst brisket I've ever had. Tough, no flavor, and worst of all it was cold. The pork rib at least had some flavor to it but a quarter pound order got me mostly bone. Chose two sides the pinto beans and potato salad. Again pinto beans nothing to write home about and we're barely warm, but potato salad was tasty. Finally you can't have barbecue without a great sauce especially one that's great to dip your bread in. Well, like the beer you won't find a good sauce here either.

Ok i admit it, a restaurant and a gas station?? How good could this be? Well we were very pleasantly surprised. This is one of the friendliest places. We told them we had never been to a rudys and you get some nice attention in the form of pleasant greetings and samples of their meets, along with some good recommendations on food and how much to order. Moist brisket is simply outstanding. Smoked turkey also very good. Creamed corn is nothing short of fantastic!! Great place for an informal meal no matter if for 2 or 20. I can see why the takeout business was also quite busy. Great to have choice of indoor or outdoor covered seating. Be sure to stop at one of these fantastic BBQ spots!

When a man to have some brisket and ribs along with some peach cobbler oh my God the sauce is so flavored. The peach cobbler taste just like homemade grandma cobbler.. the ribs falling right off the bone and a brisket it's watering delicious.

Ordered delivery for a business lunch. Everything is packed really well and they had the order perfect. Brisket is good. Cream corn is special. This one is a place I always have when in Austin.

Had a fab meal here, as I was a “rookie from the uk” I was able to sample all the meat before selecting, great service. Had the moist brisket with 2 sides! Great food and very reasonably priced

Fist time visit (your server will shout 'we have a rookie' and the rest of the staff will shout a victory yell). You will be given a sample of every meat they have to help you decide which meat you like best. All in all, a grwat experience

Good Turkey barbeque. Sauces are good. Price is a little high for what you get. Need to try beef. Will go back.

BarBQ brisket, sausage, chicken — all good. Sides are separate: beans, potato salad, mac and cheese, coleslaw — classic. The thing you need to know is that Rudy’s is different from many restaurants in that it doesn’t do “plates” — combinations. You order the meat 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb etc. You get white bread (as much as you want) to make sandwiches. Sliced onions, pickles and sauce are complimentary. Seating is very casual at red & white checkered tables and no waiters since you have ordered your own food cafeteria style. All in all, Rudy’s is an experience in great Texas BarBQ

Rustic meat-focused Texas barbeque here! Order your choice of beef, pork or turkey and sides at the counter, find a big picnic table, lay out some butcher’s paper and then spread out your do-it-yourself feast. No plates here! Sides are fresh and tasty, several chilled desserts are offered, two peppery sauces are in bottles on each table, drinks are self serve Coke products as well as choices of bottled drinks in huge ice coolers. Indoor and outdoor dining areas plus a play area and frisbee field are all part of the vibe. The moist brisket and hot sausage are winners. Go hungry!

We saw the rating on TripAdvisor and decided to stop. Rudy’s was very efficient and the food was excellent. Our surprise was that we thought we were going to a restaurant until we found ourselves in a line stepping up to order unique taco options. Staff was very helpful, friendly, it was a great experience. Will stop again if we ever get the chance. Loved the rustic eating venue!

We ordered all kinds of BBQ and side dishes for an office lunch. Very solid BBQ, and it was not their fault that it took me an hour to get to the food! The coleslaw was memorable, but the baked beans were very average. Next time, I need to try it when it is hot!

We love Rudy's for the flavors and the fun! It's ideal for a crowd -- everyone goes through the line, chooses what to eat, then assembles at long, picnic-style tables to savor the flavors. The brisket is juicy and tender, the turkey tasty, and the pulled pork always tempting. Love their potato salad and creamed corn, just some of their many sides. They even make great sweet tea!!

Rudy’s was my favorite barbecue. Now that I’m back in Austin I returned. I went for what was my regular: turkey and the good brisket. I was disappointed they no longer supply bread with the meat.

The BBQ at Rudy’s is very good, plus they custom cut the meat to your liking. I personally like burnt ends of the brisket which I then drown in sauce. They cut them and serve them right up. They have lean and fatty brisket, sausage (very good), jalapeño sausage (excellent), turkey (very good), pork loin, chops, ribs, chicken - you name it. The suggested serving amount is half a pound but they will happily serve you a quarter pound. I usually get a quarter pound of 3 meats, plus sides of potato salad and cole slaw. The sauce at Rudy’s is to die for - great flavor, just the right amount of salt, and a nice kick to it. They have vats of it and you help yourself. I just drench everything! I think the hidden secret of Rudy’s is their breakfast tacos. They have them pre-made in the front of the store. A quick, delicious breakfast. We go to Rudy’s every couple of months and it is consistently good. The counter folks and the slicers are excellent, with good suggestions. They are friendly and efficient with great communication skills. HINT #1: For the best breakfast tacos, pass up the pre-made ones and go to the back where you order your BBQ. They will custom make you breakfast tacos which I think are bigger and better than the pre-made ones (but those are pretty good). HINT #2: you can fill up on Shell gas out front. HINT #3: Join the birthday club. Every year you get a coupon good for a free half pound of meat. Woo hoo!

Had the best brisket sandwich ever. We even sat outside and enjoyed our dessert! Sweet tea was out of this world. Yes I will come back and yes I recommend this place!

Gas station bbq extraordinaire! Ample seating. For first timers, a sample of all their meats! Greatest selling point ever! You will want everything, but make sure brisket and sausage are included. Sides are excellent as well. Friendly service and great atmosphere.

BBQ is not my first dining choice, however if & when I crave BBQ, I think this is the best. Great flavor, potatoes salad is the best & coleslaw is good as far as coleslaw can be. I found ribs however were not that tender and have had better elsewhere.

Rudy's BBQ has multiple locations all over. But their catering is very special and you can get it for a small get-together or are you just party. They will take care of you no matter what size your event is we visited the capital of Texas location to pick up our order and we were so happy with everything. There barbecue sauce has extra spicy and peppery and everybody loves it. The meat will absolutely melt-in-your-mouth it is so. tender and good with lots of juices. They serve brisket, turkey, sausage, and so much more. The sides that they offer are extremely good and can satisfy the whole group.

I always look forward to going to Rudy's. The customer service is always nice, the food is always fresh, good and delicious.

Rudy seems to be the fast food restaurant for barbecue. But they do have pretty good barbecue.. I ordered to go barbecue from Rudy's about once a month and my family and I have never been disappointed.

My friend and I got outstanding breakfast tacos that were stuffed full and very affordable. The staff was awesome and I highly recommend their breakfast tacos.

I have been to three Rudy's locations, and the food is consistently very high quality. The BBQ meats are so good you don't even need sauce. My recommendation? GO!

It is great quality food and it kept me full for a long long time. This food is amazing and I believe if you throw it up after eating you are probably just sick or you have no self-control to stop eating.

This restaurant is worth a try. The service is good. Portions are large. The regular sausage links and chicken were extremely good. The potato salad was awesome. Price was reasonable. Great location.

While the brisket is rated #1, my money is on the turkey. It was soooo tender and tasty. The staff member who assisted us was very helpful and a real pleasure to talk with. Do expect the atmosphere to be very casual. Utensils were plastic, and plates, well, non-existent, but considering the price, the value was excellent and these amenities easily overlooked.

We live in Colorado and love this place. Thank goodness we have relatives In Texas who share the bottled sauce with us when they come to visit!!

I absolutely love Rudy’s BBQ. The low key atmosphere is nice but let’s be honest; I go for the food. Love the brisket, smoked turkey chicken and ribs are all finger-lickin’ good. You can buy any by the quarter-pound. The cream corn is to die for: It’s not at all like the can stuff in the grocery store. This stuff is solid gold.

Great casual atmosphere. Perfect for lunch with peers or family. Pick your meat, portion and sauce. Cream corn side is my favorite followed by the beans. Love beverage choices on ice. Staff is fun and fun to watch.

Rudy’s has an ordering and pick up at the counter is simple and reliable. The food is quick and hot and delicious. The menu is simple and delicious.

We met a family member for lunch at the Rudy’s BBQ on the Capital of Texas Highway in Austin on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. Good brisket, turkey, beans, and cole slaw. The surroundings were comfortable even with Covid issues. Definitely recommend Rudy’s for a quick lunch. We had little waiting time to place our order and watched as it was all prepped right in front of us.

Today I picked Rudy’s for a barbecue brunch. Their food is among my favorites. The locations are unique and fun. The service was cheerful and efficient.

We ate here this past Saturday. Stopped in just before noon and there wasn't a line (by the time we sat down there were about 10 people in line, but it moved quickly because the staff are so quick) we ordered the brisket, spicy sausage link, banana pudding, potato salad, and drinks. Everything was so good. They even had 2 large screen Tv playing the Longhorn game !!! All the tables were clean, utensils and sauces well stocked, and the staff were all very good at their jobs!! Good food, good price, and friendly staff.

I'm new to real Texas barbecue, and was told to check this place out for awesome brisket. I was not disappointed! The extra-moist brisket was tender and smoky, and the sauce had just the right amount of spiciness. The dining area is casual, with picnic tables and benches. There was a decent line when I arrived, but it moved pretty quickly. Overall, a really great spot. My only regret was not trying any of the other meats!

It’s an informal open seating large table place, like some other BBQ places, when ordering at the counter they asked me if it was my first time there and gave me samples of the different meats . I decided on the brisket and turkey. Both were delicious and juicy . Great place. Will go again next time in Austin

Was in Austin visiting family in hospital. Said he wished he had Rudy’s chicken. Done Rudy’s other cities several times. Solid BBQ. As I was leaving I noticed there was Rudy’s couple of blocks from hospital. Ordered half chicken and was very pleased. Excellent bird. Sides were decent. Service was good. I think the chicken is a much better value then their brisket, ribs, etc. Will be going back again.

My cousin brings all her new to Austin friends to Ruby’s and asks for the rookie experience and videos it of course. You’re treated to a chorus of cooks shouting “hey rookie” in a welcoming way and a taste of menu items to determine what you like (and what has gluten). Very nice, friendly and tasty. We went with original brisket, cole slaw, potato salad sides, and my cousin enjoyed her usual moist brisket (also delicious), with creamed corn and our sides. You eat family style at Rudy’s, which meant I was able to sit next to my hubby and admire Austin’s finest firefighters at the same time. God bless Texas!

Whenever I am in Schertz or San Antonio, I make at least one stop at Rudy's on IH-35. The brisket is both moist and dry as well as the chicken that is a must eat. The cream corn is to die for and the service, as always is friendly.

The food is fabulous. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a great location. The restaurant is great for everyone.

I grabbed take out BBQ here and it was decent but over priced. The Baby Back Ribs ($18.98 lb) and Turkey ($19.98 lb) are really good, but quite expensive. Sides are also expensive at $2.59 and the Potato Salad is Mayo based which is criminal in Texas. The Brisket ($23.98 lb) is average at best and extremmly over priced compared to other Austin BBQ places.

My friends and I were in Waco looking for a place to eat Bar B Que. While walking down the street, I asked a local where did he go to eat to get good Bar B Que. He said Rudy's. So that is where we went. We were not disappointed.

AWESOME BBQ - fast friendly service. If you are a rookie you can try the food .. They will yell out WE GOT A ROOKIE. The brisket is awesome... you have to try it if your in the area !

This restaurant was recommended and was the only place we ate out at. We dined on take out of brisket, chicken and delicious coleslaw. There were no leftovers.

It was okay.Wasnt what I was expecting.they did not have enough sides orders.the meat was very tender and juicy. Now I have never been to a Restaurant where they give you a loaf of bread to go with your meal 😂😂😂😂😂

This time at Rudy’s we got spicy brisket, turkey, drinks, and sides to go. Their ordering process is easy, quick and encourages taking it out or eating at the family style tables.

Owners should go to Waco and learn how to run a RUDY'S period. Everything here is nickle and dime. Charge for jalapenos? 20 bucks a pound for meat. Why is the meat always room temp, scary and not appetizing. Potato salad rocks cream corn rocks but it's a bbq restaurant. Meat should rock. Oh yeah and managers are not the most important person in the building.

We had heard of Rudy’s BBQ Sauce but did not know there was a “Rudy’s Country Store” We were on our way to meet with family in Round Rock Texas and decided to stop in and give it a try. We ordered the Brisket and Pulled BBQ Pork. Our sides included Cole Slaw, Baked Beans and Potato Salad. Brisket was perfectly cooked! The Pulled Pork was great! Christopher took our order and did a great job! We will definitely go back to Rudy’s!!

Noisy, family style seating chain with solid brisket, ribs and sides. Ribs are highly seasoned, spicy, fall off the bones but brisket is average. Potato salad and beans are excellent and is the counter style service.

Wasn't expecting much from this place, but was pleasantly surprised by the sausages and brisket - usually not a 'go-to' due to dryness but Rudy's brisket was moist, tender, and flavorful. Another standout was the cream corn, which had a nice balance of sweetness, crunchiness, and velvety butteriness. Overall, would recommend to take-away, as it's difficult and uncomfortable to eat outdoors while constantly swatting flies...

My husband and I has frequent Rudy's barbecue for years now. Anytime we're in the mood for barbecue we debate about going to Rudy's in Katy Texas, because of all the stairs, Nasty looks, grunts and laughs that we get when we go in, that makes us feel very uncomfortable. On Wednesday September the 21st,My husband called in to Rudy's to place a order. He spoke with a young lady,by the name of Taylor. Once he placed his order he Stated to her that he was going to repeat the order to confirm. As he was repeating the order Taylor stated "sir I got all of that" (In a very nasty tone) and hung up as he was speaking. When he arrived to Rudy's to pick up the order, Taylor was not there. He didn't mention it to anyone, he paid for the order,Got the bag proceeded to open the bag and take everything out,to check the order, While checking the order he looked up and noticed 2 of the workers staring at him. As if he was wrong for checking his order. He asked them, why are you all staring at me. No one answered. He put his order back into the bag and left. The company my husband works for logo is placed on the side of the driver's door. Along with their phone number. We live within 5 miles of this Rudy's barbecue. Before my husband made it home, he got a call from his Job, Stating That someone from Rudy barbecue just call stating that he said to them that he will fight (and some other bad words ) everybody . That's very upsetting. I feel that was very unnecessary, rude and racist. On top of all that, the order was incorrect, but at that time untill thus far. The order was not as important as what we have experienced. I would advise anyone and everyone, whom does NOT look like the majority of Rudy's barbecue staff visit, dine-in/out, stop by for the restroom, running to safety or any reason whatsoever go to this establishment. Any time I've visit Rudy's barbecue in the pass, I've felt like I was in a 1958's film.

Rudy's is one of the most consistent Bbq joints around. I've eaten at more than 5 different locations and never been disappointed! The brisket is always tender, ribs are fall off the bone, the sausage is flavorful and the sides are delicious!!! Love the creamed corn! I could make a meal of that with a little bread on the side! Would highly recommend Rudy's! They are great for to-go as well.

Went there for dinner on a Friday night and the wait was not too bad. I got the smoked potato with pulled pork. It was delicious and highly recommended! My partner got the smoked potato with brisket (regular, not moist) and neither one of us liked it; it was something about the smokey flavor we did not like so recommend skipping it. At $10 each the price was way better than Terry Black’s. If not for the brisket it would be 5 stars.

Although I've been in Texas almost 25 years, I'm still a New Yorker at heart. So I'm relatively new to barbecue. I'm also very picky about it since I haven't been eating it my whole life. I used to live right near this Rudy's and would eat there regularly. It might not be quite the best there is, but it's ALWAYS good. Consistently good! Top notch brisket, they're glad to slice extra-lean and thin. Good sausage, pork loin, turkey and pulled pork. They started serving Baby Back Ribs recently and I love them. My problem with most barbecue ribs is that they're usually somewhat dry. Not Rudy's Baby Backs, they're very tasty and quite moist. Recently a friend was down for a few days and he made me take him here twice! Really worth a trip, anytime.

I stopped at this place, after advice from a person I had just met in Austin, and I am glad I did. The food was so delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was just a down home country feel. Definitely put this on your list of places to visit in Austin!!!

We got there at 130pm and the line was out the door which we took as a good sign. We talked with the bikers next to us in line and didn't mind the wait because the line moved fast. We got pulled pork, chicken, and ribs. Prices were very fair. Everyone agreed to a 4 rating though. My daughter said the ribs were good, but weren't cooked / smoked to "fall off the bone." My son's chicken was good, but too greasy and not really a 5. The pulled pork was the best order we had, and the bbq sauce on the table was good. I would DEFINITELY recommend stopping here, especially for the atmosphere and price, but the food just didn't quite warrant a 5/5.

Visiting Texas we needed to do bbq our friends suggested we go to Rudy’s. We got the brisket and chicken. Both were excellent. We had potato salad and creamed corn was also good. Can get orders to go. BBQ sauce was great. Would highly recommend.

Stopped in on a recommendation. So glad we did. Texas BBQ at its finest. Baby back ribs were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Pulled pork was the same. I wish they sold a sampler platter because I would have liked to have tried everything ( we are from out of the area). Loved it!

I’m from California but always go here when visiting friends in Austin. And, it’s always delicious. This time pulled pork sandwich, new potatoes and. Eans Yummmmmy. Sometimes get chicken but I understand the brisket is the best ever. I don’t eat beef so I don’t have personal taste experience.

Rudy's has consistently good food. Their lean brisket isn't overcooked, which is a feat for any BBQ griller. The cole slaw and potato salad are always good. They're also providing pre-packaged sauce and onions for to-go orders now, which is a nice benefit.

I’ve been a fan of Rudy’s for years, and while I no longer reside in Texas, visits to Austin necessitate a return and I’m always happy (and full!) when I go back. Grab a cup, it’ll remind you of your delicious meal, and the moist brisket is new to me — perhaps not new to the restaurant — but is beyond delicious.

Really good smoked and BBQed meat great sides good service a really great meal check out Rudy's if you see one good food will be your reward.

They do BBQ Texas Style and it is EXCELLENT. We had the ribs, brisket and turkey with sides of beans and cole slaw. It was all so delicious, reasonably priced with plenty of choices of soft drinks and beer in icy tubs just waiting for you to enjoy. The service is quick and the seating is communal, and it's a great place to eat!

I attended a 50th anniversary party at an Austin community center. It was catered by Rudy's. Being from NJ, had never heard of the business, but was assured it was the best of the best. It was! The brisket was fork tender, and the choice of accompanying sauces satisfied everyone. The sides of home made cole slaw, beans, and creamed corn (the best creamed corn I've ever tasted!), were of the best quality and flavor. Cudo's to Rudy's!

The sandwich had a thin smear of chopped brisket -- not enough to cover the bun. Wayyyy too salty (and I like salt). Gummy white bread. FAIL.

We found this Rudy's by accident whilst travelling to Austin for a day trip. It was well worth the visit. The brisket just fell apart. We purchased a pound of brisket and were pleasantly surprised to receive slices of bread with it.

3 weeks ago had a bad experience with dry tough brisket left a review on Google reviews and was contacted and asked to speak with the area director so I did. The area director assured me that he would take care of the problem and speak with the staff. Rudy's has always been the spot for me to go to here in El Paso for good barbecue but as of recent their brisket is lacking like you would not believe!!! And I'm not the only one that feels that way if you look at reviews from James Smith, Master underscores shadow, Noemi Lopez and several others from the past several weeks the complaints are all the same the brisket is dry and tough!!! That tells me one of two things the area director did not speak with the staff or the area director did speak with the staff and the staff doesn't care what the area director has to say because everything is still the same nothing has changed about the brisket!!! I wish there were someone above the area director for the El Paso area that I could speak with at reviews at rudys.com which is the email address they want you to contact to give your contact information so the area director can contact you. The last time the area director contacted me three weeks ago for the bad brisket back then he offered me an apology and a free meal ticket! To me that was a slap in the face the free meal ticket I didn't contact them for free meal ticket and declined from the area director accepting the free meal ticket my request was fixed the problem so when I eat there as well as others eat there again we can Rave about how good the brisket is not how bad it is! I don't know about the others that are leaving bad reviews about shortage of food that is there that they can't get because it's not prepared and sitting out for them like for example the sides but as for me I don't care about free meals so please do not offer me free meals for myself or my family I love to eat at Rudy's yesterday everything was great except the brisket the corn was good the sides were good to beans the potato salad the pulled pork excellent but the brisket is absolutely horrific!!! Again I tossed the brisket out and we ate the pulled pork the sausage and the sides! Would love to hear from someone other than the area manager for Rudy's in the El Paso sector because it is obvious the area manager can't get anything done by speaking with his staff as I said earlier either he did not speak with them or he did and they really don't care what he has to say because the outcome of the brisket is still the same as it was three weeks ago!!!

In Austin, and all over Texas, people like to recommend their favorite BBQ place. Typically it is a one location type of place and people are committed to whichever they line up with. Rudy's is a franchise and a chain. I have been to several of their restaurants and they are all very good. The most consistently good it the one on Capital of Texas Highway in Austin. The baby back ribs are fantastic as is the brisket. In 15 years of going to Rudy's, I have never had a bad meal. It is a fun place, the kids working there know their jobs and are well trained. If you are into BBQ, give this place a try.

We decided to give Rudy’s a second try after many years. Brisket is just ok and over priced. Maybe my husband has me spoiled with his BBQ, but I wouldn’t recommend them especially for the price. For the price to feed a family of four we could have bought a brisket and cooked it ourselves...which we do...Even though the food is just ok and prices are too high, or maybe I just expected more for the price, the staff is very nice!

I didn’t have high hopes for this place as it is one of those order at the counter, pick a table, they bring out the food places. Was I ever wrong!!!!!! We both ordered the 1/2lb brisket. It was fork tender and so delicious I thought I died and went to BBQ heaven! Moist brisket with their signature sauce and some coleslaw and we were set to go. I am a bit of a food snob and prefer not to eat at a picnic table but for this brisket.... I would eat here daily. Yum!

Our family from GA, CA and IL always remember us taking them to Rudy's and want to go back when they come to Austin. I always get my husband GC's for his BD and Father's Day - easiest choice ever. Love the food, the fantastic service and the Community Service that Rudy's always provides for Austin. 💜💜💜💜💜

What can I say? Only good things about the cheerful staff, food and loud family style restaurant in a gas station which is always packed. I normally get the baby back ribs but got the pulled pork this time. Mmm like the ribs better. Awesome crispy cole slaw, yummy baked beans served with softest fresh white bread on this earth.

Attention : We ate last night. Brisket must have PRESERVATIVES or MSG. I HAD TO VOMIT ALL. SO DID MY SON. We wasted over $100.00.

I ate at the Rudy’s Country Stores and BBQ on November 2020. It was the one on North Lamar Blvd in Austin, Texas. The food was excellent and was cooked to perfection. The peach cobbler was very good and nice portion. The staff were friendly and the drinks and condiments were convenient. I recommend this BBQ restaurant.

We prefer Rudy’s tacos because of the quality of the meat. Their bbq is also consistently good and. Bonus - their bbq is easily shipped and is a great gift idea for someone out of state. Their potato salad is hands-down the best in Austin.

You can't get any better than this place! The BBQ and sides were some of the best I have had in a long time. We were there with friends and we had quite a variety of food among us. Everything was fantastic. The service, food, and price cannot be beat! They will also give you a mini tour of taste testing if you are unfamiliar with their menu. Super fun place. It's super casual, the seating is picnic benches indoors. It is a must go if you are in Austin.

They should have this restaurant in SoCal. I loved the moist beet and spicy ribs. Yes, the ribs is a little spicy but it’s good. My husband didn’t like it because the ribs is a little spicy and usually ribs are not spicy. Overall we had a good experience and would come back.

Great take out. Ordered from Door Dash for several people. Everything was packaged separately by name and was exactly what we ordered. Presentation was perfect. Food good. Brisket yummy. Good slaw.

My family had so much fun at Rudy’s! There’s something for everyone to eat there! Delicious! From great potato salad, delicious chocolate pudding to Rudy’s special BBQ sauce it’s yummy! A must eat at restaurant while in Austin!

Rudy’s is one of the best BBQ places to eat!! The food is delicious, the prices are good, the customer service is always pleasant and helpful, and they have a laid back atmosphere. Bar far the best BBQ sauce around!

Stopped 8/31, Saturday, on the way to UT vs Louisiana Tech game in Austin. Short Line for terrific BBQ and Service.

where does one start at this restaurant? everything here is great eats. brisket hotties ribs chicken and all the sides especially the butter potatoes

Whenever I go to a town and there's a Rudy's close by...I'm there! Although Rudy's is somewhat considered a chain restaurant it is consistently good food I've been to many Rudy's in different states and have always walked away happy and content. Went thru the line quickly and the staff was very helpful. I took a friend with me who has never been to a Rudy's and he was impressed with the bbq and the restaurant. If you've never been to a Rudy's for bbq, stop in and try it.

We get barbecue from Rudy's for everyone's birthdays, usually four times a year. The food is consistently good, spices are good, sauce is quite tasty. Good prices.
Good BBQ
Rudy's is good BBQ in a comfortable setting. This is the type of place you can go to after church in nice clothes or after hiking in dusty hiking pants and feel like you belong. Your order most meat by the pound or 1/4 pound, etc. Or half or whole rack of ribs. They give you as many slices of bread as you want. Feel free to go back to counter and ask for more bread if you need more while eating. Their sauce is good but their meat is so good without it, I hate to cover the meat flavor with it. Sometimes I put sauce and pickle on bread and have that as a side to my meat. They don't have sandwiches so if you like your brisket on a bun, you would have to bring your own. You can make a brisket sandwich with bread however. You can order sides such as potato salad, cole slaw, or beans. Banana pudding also.
