Celebrating my grandson's birthday and mine

By s0phia2014 |

The atmosphere was great, the waiters were excellent as well as the food. the steak and lobster were so tender and the sides were very good also. My husband and I used to celebrate our anniversary here....sat by a window which was our favorite spot to watch the birds and squirrels..

A Surprise!

By Rich B |

My wife and I both thought the ambiance, the waiter (Jasper) and the salad were all excellent, but we were both underwhelmed by the entree (filet and lobster tail). While the tail was OK, the steak was average at best. My wife's fingerling potatoes were much too salty.

Great Meal !!

By PANSY1199 |

Ruth Chris is known for their Steaks and they did not disappoint. I surely enjoyed my meal, great choices of wine deserts.

AWESOME Steak Experience!

By Timothy V |

We were in Dallas for some special events and decided to try out the Ruth's Chris in Dallas, we've been to Ruth's Chris in Baton Rouge, Destin and Vegas so we were prepared to have a wonderful steak. Ruth's Chris maintains good constancy, however I found Vegas to be a little less than the quality I've received from other Ruth's Chris across the country. The Dallas Ruth's Chris was very good and up to the Standard they've set for their restaurants. Service was prompt, our waiter very knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful with our selections. I would highly recommend this Ruth's Chris to any one looking for a wonderful steak house for dinner. The night we went the food was hot fresh and delicious!

Restaurant Week Dinner

By Dmh165638 |

Some friends invited us to dinner for restaurant week and their anniversary. It has been probably 25+ years since I had been to a Ruth's Chris so we were excited to give it a try. The food did not disappoint. I had an 8oz filet that was cooked perfectly and the truffle crust was delicious. My wife had the crab cakes that were equally delicious. The table shared sides of creamed spinach, sweet potato casserole, brussel sprouts, and mashed potatoes all of which were amazing. The blueberry mojito was also superb. A very pleasing dinner for everyone. We will be returning more often.

Great dining experience

By Ron C |

Very nice, pleasant dining experience. Had not been post-pandemic, and we were not disappointed. Service was good, very efficient. I had the ribeye and a side of asparagus .My wife had the prix fixe filet and lobster tail; her side was creamed spinach. All were prepared very well, with the steaks perfectly as ordered. Sides are plentiful. We spoke with the GM, Dave, to let him know how much we enjoyed the meal. This will definitely be our go-to steak house in the future.

Quite a Surprise.

By bwannan |

We went to a financial seminar here not expecting much. We assumed the menu would be fixed and not very inspiring. We were wrong. While y he menu was limited, t he 3 choices were, all good. Give the reputation of this place, we both opted for the small filet, rare. The steaks were exceptionally good. The sides were limited but they were good as well. We will return and order from yhe full menu as we both thought it was worth another visit without a limited menu.

Great atmosphere, drinks and service!

Ruth's Chris has a Happy Hour! We went on a Sunday for Happy Hour. We sat at the bar area. You can sit at the bar, but the bar area also has high and low tables. We chose to sit at a high table. Will was bartending, and he was a great host. He went through the menu items with us, and was very friendly. I ordered an Old Fashioned to start off, and it was great. We ordered a Spicy Shrimp plate, zucchini fries and sweet potato casserole. For our mains, we ordered the 6 oz filet with shrimp and Cabernet and a steak sandwich. All our dishes came out hot and the plate presentation was great! We were very pleased with our meal, and the bar atmosphere was great. We will definitely return!

Great place to celebrate!

We enjoyed a very good dinner in the wine room. Tasty food and delicious wine. The ribeye with bone was very tender.

Favorite Steak In dallas

By MarkPurdue |

Love the hot butter sizzling plate on which the steak arrives at the table. Always cooked to perfection. Go early and enjoy a cocktail in the bar with on request keyboard of your favorite songs. Always a terrific atmosphere. Simply the best.

A Prime Restaurant

By guyinthe405 |

We have been customers of Ruth Chris for 15 year and we found this Ruth Chris to be excellent. Our server, Chelsea did an excellent job of serving us and providing for our needs. The employees all work together to insure excellent service and the management is friendly and accommodating. The crab cakes were very good, the petite steak covered with shrimp was outstanding! The chopped salad and creamed spinach was excellent. Our next trip to north will include another visit to this Ruth Chris. Enjoy.

Thanksgiving

We were thoroughly unimpressed. They have a horrible timing problem as they brought my wife's soup out and then let us sit and stare at her for 20 minutes before they brought our salad which made the soup cold and required a replacement soup. We had turkey dinner which was cold and the stuffing resembled snot. Each came with a side but no room on the tiny plates they serve you on. Wife had a ribeye it was nice but again sides with no plate room. To many options in the area in Dallas to return here. I wouldn't recommend it.

One of the best steaks in the world

By wuzup76020 |

I write this from Malaysia.. where I just had a steak and tried to compare it to Texas beef.. I've had some of the best meals of my life at this restaurant. It's not cheap.. but it's been worth it every time. My go to when I bring over seas clients out or when I take the wife out. Attentive staff and excellent wine. If you on a budget go somewhere else. If you want to impress.. this is the place.

Take Out Only - Quality of Food

By Dick W |

Can no longer eat at the restaurants themselves so just a review of the quality of Ruths Chris food at their North Dallas location. Steakhouses in Dallas have stiff competition so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Ruths Chris delivered on a succulent, tender, strip cut steak and the sides were of equal quality, Unlike some restaurants RC gave me containers of food that made me feel as though I was eating there as other takeout food from restaurants that I had previously eaten in gave me food that was not on par with what was given while eating in their restaurants. This comes from the attitude that these are customers that we do not have to worry about them complaining in front of other customers so let's pick out our lesser cuts of meat, seafood, etc. to give them, in my humble opinion, and it happens quite frequently, unfortunately, to me for the last 20+ years that I have been unable to sit in restaurant seating.

Not that great.

By Laura H |

This has been a favorite family splurge for years. It seems to have lost its luster. The waiter was rude to our special needs daughter. I don't think he ever smiled the whole evening. Our steaks were delicious but not out if this world like usual. The sides were all over salted. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant and they weren't even warm. The dining room was loud and overheated. We will try somewhere else next time.

Glad We Finally Visited!!

By flipmc |

To celebrate my husband's birthday, we decided to try this restaurant. It was a quiet atmosphere, no music playing and not full of people. We had really great service as one would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The bread was warm and very good. Our andouille sausage gumbo was good. The Ruth's salad was shared by the kids and they devoured it. We had filet mignon which was very flavorful and delicious, sea bass on top of a wonderful pineapple and sweet potato hash, and barbecue shrimp which was actually better than I thought it would be. Everything we ate was very good. For sides we had lobster mac and cheese, creamed spinach and of course french fries. Our food remained hot the entire time we ate. That was a new experience for me. For dessert our waiter sprinkled happy birthday confetti on the table and gave my husband a full complimentary dessert. It was a molten chocolate cake with chocolate mousse on the side. It was not overly sweet and it was so good. Will definitely come back.

It don't git no better!!!

A fantastic holiday meal

By TravelingFool88005 |

We went here for Christmas eve dinner with a party of 8. The food and service were spectacular. The timing of everything was perfect. Our reservation was for 5:30pm and we were sat immediately.

Great dinner

By Hart |

We had petite filets with lobster tails. Ruth’s Classic dinner with salads- caesar was so good. Creamed spinach as our sides & we skipped dessert due to being on the keto diet. Great Malbec- good wine list! Service by Mitch was excellent. Good atmosphere- we had a table by the window & loved the openness of the dining room.

Daughters Birthday

By Lilliane A |

I went with my 2 daughters. One just turned 17th. So it was a special occasion. We went around 6:15pm and the restaurant was not very busy, which was nice. We all had the filets which were cooked perfectly and came to the table sizzling. The potatoes, vegetables were very nice and well prepared. They brought out a slice of pie with ice cream with a candle for her, she loved it and we all had a taste. Then to top it off, our waiter took a photo of the 3 of us, and even gave me another one for myself. We love Ruth Chris and they always look after us.

Really nice fine dining place

By Richard R |

Went with a large group. Nice upscale restaurant that has a very pretty large open bank of windows looking out at a greenspace. My wife had salmon that was very good. I tried something different and had their chicken. I have never had better in any restaurant. Loved the side items especially the creamed spinach. If I returned would probably eat in the bar since it has a nice quiet atmosphere. They also have a very reasonable priced bar menu.

New Years Eve Dinner

By Patrice N |

I went to Ruth Chris's Steakhouse for a NYE dinner with my friends and we had a fabulous time! There was a great special they had running and we all got steak and lobster. The lobster was the best I've had! The food was cooked perfectly! We also enjoyed a great bottle of Rose with our meal. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to treat themselves. Food cooked to perfection and great service.

Too many OU fans

By Carolyn S |

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The service is always great and the steak is perfect. We had the lobster special and it was yummy. Only distraction was too many OU fans; but what do you expect on the TX vs. OU weekend.

Entrees Come To Your Table on Sizzling 500 Degree Plates

By Bob K |

Ruth's Chris has figured out how to insure your steaks will be warm for table service...heat the special serving plates to 500 degrees. They also offer "Classic" three course meals that feature choices like Steak and Shrimp or Steak and Lobster combos. We both ordered the former at $43.95. Our first course started with a Strawberry and Goat Cheese Salad for my wife while I enjoyed a Caesar's Salad with anchovies. We ordered wine by the glass which did not disappoint. Our sides, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, which we shared, were great and the dessert option, a Chocolate Truffles and Strawberry Shortcake was simple and tasty. Enjoyable meals like this keep us coming back for more.

Christmas lunch

By blessings |

This was our first time to Ruth's Chris. They were very busy because it was Christmas day. They were one of only a handful of restaurants open on Christmas Day. The valet greeted us with a smile. The hostess greeted us when we walked in. We were seated immediately. Almost every table was full. It was very lively. The view out the back windows was pretty. There was a fire in the fireplace. Our waitress was all smiles and very attentive. My husband ordered one of the Christmas specials. My son and I ordered the filet mignon. We had mashed potatoes and lyonnaise potatoes to go with the steaks. We had lobster appetizer - delicious! Huge bread pudding for dessert. Everything was as expected for a nice steak house. I would like to return. The only negative thing I have to say about our visit had nothing to do with the restaurant. It was another customer who had a crying baby a few tables away.

Nice Pleasant Environment

By Jerry D |

Ordered a 12 oz Ribeye, medium done. It was a quality steak and cooked properly. I personally found the sweet potato casserole too sweet, more similar to a dessert. They did not have broccoli au gratin available, but my waitress offered to have the chef prepare it for me. The chef did prepare the broccoli au gratin and it was tasty. I ordered the Manhattan Eastside drink and enjoyed it thoroughly. We also had coffee with Baileys. No appetizer or dessert for either of us. Service was excellent. Ruth Chris is a quality restaurant and I continue to recommend it highly for good steak and for quality side orders. There were two of us and the bill came to $145 plus a $30 gratuity making the total for two $175.

Good But Not A Great Meal

By olympicoscar |

New Year's eve is perhaps not the best time to review a restaurant, but I have been here on 2 other occasions. Appetizers were great. Some of the best Calamari, if not the best I've ever had. The spicy chili sauce was the perfect compliment to the dish. My wife's tomato and onion salad was more than generous. The main courses were less satisfactory. Always order your steak without butter at Ruth Chris if you actually want to taste the steak and not absorb a mouthful of butter. Something though was lacking, mainly the taste. It was a 16 ounce NY strip steak, and it just didn't have that "it" factor that a quality steak should possess. My wife enjoyed her filet, which she said was better than most in Dallas. The Lyonnais potatoes were tasty, but a tad soggy. The mushrooms were among the worst I've ever tasted. Not properly cooked and totally without taste. We finished the meal with fresh berries and coffee. Definitely a quality dessert. Service was excellent, especially for New Years eve. At over $200, the value was not here. I will return again, hoping for a better experience.

Always Great

By JudgeDean |

If you want a great steak, go to Ruth's Chris. Love it as well as Morton's and The Palms. In a very good location, and easy to reach. Adjoins Expressway.

Disappointing

By Richard B |

Been to this location in the past. Appears to be hit or miss these days. Today was a miss. My ribeye was overcooked. Wife's medium steak was burnt. Potatoes were watery. Fried calamari was cold and soggy. Lobster bisque was luke warm. Bill was over 400 for a party of 4. Disappointing.

Melt in your mouth steak

By apachemom |

We went to Ruth's Chris for our anniversary. We ordered from the Ruth's classics special menu. I had the ribeye and my husband chose the filet and lobster. The steaks were cooked perfectly! They were tender AND tasty. My husband had the corn soup and loved it and my salad was delicious. My husband's side of creamed spinach was very good. But my smoky chipotle fingerling potatoes were superb!! The waitress could tell we were stuffed so offered to have our dessert packaged to go. Later that evening at home, we indulged in that scrumptious cheesecake with homemade chocolate almond bark. The service was not quite as good as where we ate last year (Bob's in Frisco) but the food was MUCH better.

Less than average steaks, service, and experience at high prices. Not impressed, and would not recommend

By Steve M |

Went here at Easter. Ordered a Ribeye steak and my Fiancé order Bass. The Ribeye was a tuff as nails. The Bass tasted very fishy. ( not fresh ). The baked potato had to be 3 days old and reheated. We had to hunt down our waitress to have the steak replaced. This is a below average steak house with sky high prices. What a disappointment. Not what I expected. Never going there again, and would not recommend this place to anyone. There are a lot of other places that offer a better experience, better steaks, and better service for a whole lot less money. Shame on you, Ruth Chris.....

Thanks Max! Postmates responded.

By RichardLovesDining |

Ruth's Chris website conveniently linked us to their Postmates (I'm just finding out(!) so many lost delivery opportunities for both Ruth and I). So we built a $275 order and started perusing our Reds in eager anticipation. 30 min later our order was sadly cancelled. We were crushed :(. A successful order would lead to several orders a month from our carnivorous fam in perpetuity, so as a long time Ruths Chris fan, I called to find out if it was a matter of policy, discontinued service, etc. I got Max who blamed postmates and directed me to its rabbit hole for his convenience.....so as a Ruth fan and a Lewis Carroll fan, I went in. Thanks Max for your integrity, you have wasted my time (x3) by not removing the postmates link you refuse to service, the postmates rabbit hole for the tRuth and writing this review. I look forward to sharing this review to others and opting to walk past Ruth Chris in my travels going forward. Sorry Seattle Ruth you were next and a frequent stop.

Christmas Tradition

By kimrj2 |

My husband and I enjoy spending Christmas in Dallas and coming to this Ruth's Chris location has become a tradition for us. The staff is always nice and friendly, the ambience is great, and the food is SUPERB! The steaks are to die for and the spinach au gratin and sweet potato casseroles are delish! The valet parking is an added plus. I think that we will continue the tradition!

We Keep Going Back

By Pops A |

We have tried some of the other upscale steakhouses, but always go to Ruth's Chris on special occasions. My Bday in this case. Bob (whose name is a palindrome) was great. He recommended a wine that was actually a little less expensive than the one I was considering. It was very good. The steaks were perfect and Bob's attention to us was on the fine line between too much and too little.

Ruth's Chris is not a great as it used to be

By Mcoreo2 |

Went for a Birthday dinner. I have eaten at Ruth Chris before, but it had been awhile. I don't know, maybe my memories deceived me, but I really used to this this was an awesome chain. The ambiance is nice. There were 3 of us and we sat in a booth. The restaurant was fairly busy. Server was knowledgeable. menu is not really that big, very basic choices. We started with a app of fried Calamari which was very good. Then 2 of us had the Filet with Shrimp combo and another the veg plate which you pick 3 side. She chose the loaded baked pot, asparagus and the sweet potato. We also ordered a side of au gratin potatoes and sautéed mushrooms to share. The food came out quickly, we barely had finished the app. Everything was correct, but I was a little disappointed with we did not get any bread like we saw on the other tables. I didn't bother to ask about it. Everything we had was good but the mushrooms blah. It was a bday so the server asked if we were interested in a bday dessert. Maybe I took this wrong but I thought he meant on the house, but it was on our bill. It was cheesecake which looked good but I did not try, I was full! He did take a picture of the table as a momento to take home which was nice. I mean everything was okay, I guess it just did not live up to my "memories" of this awesome steak house. It was just a steak house. An expensive steak house.

Took great care of us even without power

By TaraMcConkey |

My husband and I came here for our anniversary. Our waiter, Josh was fantastic and so was his assistant. I got a ruby red greyhound to drink and it was awesome. It wasn't too boozy tasting. My husband got a blackberry sidecar and it was strong , but yummy. Then the power went out due to a storm. The wait staff did the best they could in the dark and we still had a great time. They were unfortunately unable to cook food without power. I sure the food would had been great. I would eat here again .

Literally blown away!!

By Catie0615 |

My husband took me here for our 2 year anniversary. He took me to a different location when were dating and we both loved it! We are greeted before walking in the door and as soon as we gave them our name they told us happy anniversary. The hostess left rose petals and a card on the table(which i am so mad i forgot) and this just blew me away! Our waitress also greeted us and told us happy anniversary. The restaurant was beautiful and so romantic. We remembered that when we had gone to the other location I had the stuffed chicken and we both liked it better than the steak so that is what we both decided to order. Literally the best we have ever had! Absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to go back and hope we go back for every anniversary. Thank you to the staff for making our night extra special.

Years Since Last Visit - and it looks like Years Until the Next - Just OK

By Jeanine B |

Celebrating post Christmas rush. Service was very poor - a trainee is fine - however - his "experienced helper" was nowhere to be found. No help on wine - very little knowledge for either of them. Walked away and never came back... No pepper for salads, no finding out if food is cooked correctly... it's the little things at this price that count. Lamb Chops at first overcooked (ordered Med Rare) - then under cooked, rubbery with fat and inedible. Husband eats everything and could not eat. My petit filet was very good - but not as good as Capital Grill or Papas. "Manager" was a bit sloppy and defensive and ultimately comped his meal. We would have rather of course paid and enjoyed the evening with good food. Again, service was just not there for us. With so much steak in Dallas - there is no way we are going back to Ruth's Chris - just not worth the money. Can't say much for the clientele either - in jeans and flannels, ladies not dressed - maybe I'm old school but it's Saturday night, around the holidays. Could not figure this place out.

One of the best steaks I have ever had

By George C |

We went last night to celebrate our anniversary , we normally do the better steak restaurants just a few times a year in Dallas and sometimes on vacation, we had never been here before and both ordered the filet medium rare, both steaks were cooked perfect could not have asked for a better steak, They also have a special that included a salad/side and desert for under 55 per person so considering the quality it was a bargain. Topped it off with a bottle of Silver Oak cabernet for a great meal.

WORTH THE MONEY

By JD373 |

This is an expensive restaurant but you get what you pay for. You pay for and get excellent service. You pay for and get excellent food. You pay for and get a comfortable setting where you can carry on a conversation and not be rushed. Sure, you probably can't afford to eat here 3-4 times a month but it is definitely worth it for a special occasion. Robert was our attentive waiter and he was excellent. All our steaks (3) were cooked perfectly and served on a hot platter. The crab cakes were excellent. The chopped salads (2) were excellent and is a surprising presentation that all agreed was not what was expected. The steakhouse salad and wedge salad were also excellent. All salads on chilled platter.

If you have the money and have a special event the staff treatment is excellent

By Laura S |

Not the normal place for us to eat, but we earn gift cards for the place and go on our anniversary. The steak is awesome and cooked perfectly and the sides are great. The wait staff treated us like we were high society, it was nice. We have tried other high priced places but this place is a 10. It never fails to please us. Wish we could afford to come more often.

Nice view

By pepslittleone |

Wonderful food. Great service. Nice view. Lovely ambiance. Will return. Would recommend. That lobster Mac is to die for.

Best steak ever

By Bryan P |

Went out for a date night with my wife and a gift card and had the best steak ever. Atmosphere was great, not too noisy, great wait staff. I had the t- bone. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. We have been to the other steak places in Dallas and this was the best. Gumbo was a nice starter along with the harvest salad. Wine and desserts were nice. Gift card covered most of the check , but we will go back soon.

Steak great. Service not so much.

By TripKatieRose |

We ate a table in the bar. There were six of us. SO noisy. Waitress reached across everyone to serve. Put wrong plates in front of us and then picked them up and moved them around. Not the kind of service you expect when you pay that much for a steak.

Ruth Chris Dallas for Happy hour

By James G |

Very good as always! Terrific happy hour from 5-7 on Sundays with $10 steak sandwiches plus burgers and shrimp at happy hour prices...Always a good time...

Forget about the steak

By ajricca |

The veal ossobuco ravioli's are out of this world and I highly recommend them. Don't get me wrong, the steaks are great but I can get a great steak almost anywhere in Dallas.

Another great dinner!

By lonestardocs |

Went to Ruth's Chris' the other evening for our anniversary and had a terrific dinner experience. This restaurant is by far, our favorite restaurant in the Dallas area as we always have an excellent dinner with great service!

Amazing Food

By OKCdatenights |

My husband and I came here while on a recent trip to Dallas. We ordered the Porterhouse for Two and shared a side of sweet potatoes. We added the blue cheese topping to our steak, and I have to say it is the best blue cheese sauce that I have ever had on a steak. The steak was also cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. We were celebrating a special occasion, and they offered a free dessert, and also took a photograph of us that was printed out and given to us at the end of the evening. I thought that was a very nice special touch, one that most places don't take to the time to bother with. We spend a lot of our time and $$ in Texas, and we will definitely be coming back here.

Disappointing Thanksgiving meal.

By Kevin D |

Went for Thanksgiving dinner having not tried the restaurant before. Had a reservation for 6:15 and was not seated until 7:00 because they were overbooking and allowing walk-ins. They have no system for letting you know the table is ready like newer restaurants and the hostesses had to wander through the crowd looking for people. The dining tables are close together and most are out in the open so the ambient noise was very loud. The servers seemed overwhelmed and seemed to be oversat. The starter for me was gumbo which was very plain as if it was Campbells soup gumbo. When the Turkey came out it was not fresh sliced but the "Turkey Loaf" style thickly cut and was barely warm. The sides of mashed potato and spinach were good although also luke warm. The dessert was a tiny pumpkin cheesecake with ice cream. Bright spot was the hostesses who were friendly. I was really surprised how poor everything was given this restaurants reputation and expense.

Over priced average food

By Steven P |

Well, I have tried this place many times and am DONE. It is so over priced for what you get...average food. Steaks soaked in butter, all you tase is butter. Last night had a plain baked potato for $10.50. Are you kidding me! Food was so average, why am I here???

Steak..you pick your place, bring your paycheck and hope for the best..odds vary.

By Duane P |

I eat at a steak place at least once per month as soon as the SS check clears. I send my grown children with gift cards and, unlike a hamburger, I have had BAD steak which occurs almost everywhere at some point if you go often enough. The Palm was not my favorite but it was consistent and now they are gone. The Capital Grill is elegant with waiters flitting around pushing various liquids that cost as much as a steak at Outback (inconsistent quality) and serving always disappointing steaks that are tired and a little bland, a little chewy. I would rather spend $12 at Land and Cattle and get what I paid for than deal with the expensive places and end up with a flat tendon running through my steak. To get to the point, Ruth Chris and Pappas Bros. are the two best steak restaurants in Dallas and the best steak I have ever had in my life was my wife's 11 ounce Filet done well, pink inside these days, while my Strip was great at Ruth Chris.Ordering a steak well done used to mean no pink so you should have a serious conversation with your waiter as to how your steak should be cooked. I had the sweet/spicy shrimp starter and it was good, wifey always gets the thin fries...good. Au gratin potatoes and creamed spinach are good enough but every human on earth should stop ordering mac and cheese w/ whatever, it is a filler, a disgrace, a profit center like iced tea. When the sizzling steak arrives all buttered it almost shorts out my pacemaker ...I quit taking my grown children because I cannot bare to watch them all burn their fingers despite warnings...fondue is even worse. Fried lobster, Lobster etc.Entrees ignore except as starters..you are there to eat the best steak you can find, do that. Sometimes waiters are bad, glasses have lipstick, flat ware is smudged no matter where you go, but at Ruth Chris I have never had these distractions but cannot guarantee anything these days. At the Dallas Pkwy restaurant, ask to sit by the window and in summer it is quite a nice forest.

Steak tasted too much like liver

By Rickspicks |

At a price of $44, I would expect my strip steak to be terrific. Unfortunately, while the texture was good, and the steak was juicy and cooked perfectly, it had a distinct liver flavor. This is not the first time this has happened to me at a Ruth's Chris restaurant. Never had this problem with prime steaks at other high-end steak houses.

Great happy hour

By Badgelady |

We love their happy hour. First went in Orlando and pleased to find a Ruth Chris in Dallas. Great pomegranate martinis and bartender Amy showed me how to singe a sliver of orange peel to enhance the taste. Great smoked salmon and we love their steak sandwiches.

Brilliant food

Brilliant food ambience is amazing. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time .. great for families and pleasing that they do happy hour in the week Excellent evening thank you

17th Wedding Anniversary

By minerjef |

The food and service was out of world. Joelynn our server was great. We felt like she was a member of our family. Our entrees were cooked to perfection. Also I entered under additional comments about the wife and I celebrating 17 years of marriage. From the Hostess to Joelynn they congratulated us on being married 17 years. They gave a wonderful dessert. We Highly recommend going. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion to enjoy great food and wonderful service.

Good but not worth twice what other good stealhouses charge

By DonJancauskas |

I like steak and eat more than my share. The steak here is good, well prepared and presented with nice atmosphere, but comparing to at least a half dozen other top line steakhouses I frequent in Dallas the food is nothing exceptional and certainly not worth twice the price.

Very ordinary service

By Restless_Explorer |

The salad was extremely ordinary and they cannot even offer freshly crushed pepper. The steak was full of butter and nothing special. Ordinary dessert too. On addition to that, service was non existent.

Disappointed

By Ronald K |

My wife and I have been dining at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for over 20 years. Last Saturday night our experience was the poorest experience to date. We had reservations and our table was ready upon our arrival. The ambiance, wait staff, and beverages were superb. The food was most disappointing. The wedge salad was adequate but the clam chowder was not. The chowder was visually unappealing, being a sort of yellow color instead of the usual creamy white. The flavor was bland. Both entrees were disappointing. My wife's center cut filet mignon was a strangely shaped cut of meat and it was overdone. The flavor was okay, but the center cut filets at chain restaurants such as Outback and Saltgrass are better. My speciality seafood dish, the barbecued shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes was a mess. There were plenty of good sized shrimp, but not barbecued and literally tasteless. The presentation was unappealing - a round casserole dish with the shrimp floating in some orangish liquid. The mashed potatoes were mushy, submerged in the orangish liquid. The side dishes of potatoes au gratin and crimini mushrooms were good, as was the hot bread. Our dessert, cheesecake with berries, was wonderful and enough for two. In all it was an interesting dining experience, but not a good meal nor a good value.

Anniversary dinner

By lonestardocs |

We go to Ruth's Chris about once a month. This time was for our anniversary as it is our favorite place. Great evening! Dinner and service was up to their excellent standards and the extra attention for our anniversary made the evening extra special!

Best happy hour menu!!

By Daniel K |

We had a steak sandwich and shrimp in the bar during happy hour. Both were fantastic!! We also come here for the regular menu, and the steaks are the best in town, IMHO. We love this place. Fantastic food, Fantastic Service.

Best Steak Ever!!!

By philr836 |

A group of friends took our wives for Mother's Day dinner. Oh the food was marvelous and the service outstanding!! Steaks grilled as ordered, sides served family style and desserts to die for!!! Prices prohibit eating there everyday but for special occasions, it's a real treat!!!

What a nice surprise!

By KassMarketing |

We decided to celebrate my husband's birthday at the last moment at Ruth's Chris. We've been to just about every high end steak house in Dallas, and wanted to try this location of RC. He made the reservation online only an hour before our arrival time, and asked for a red rose for me (nice touch!). We arrived and were seated immediately at a table strewn with happy birthday glitter. My rose arrived (fresh and beautiful). Both the hostess and our waiter greeted my husband and wished him a happy birthday. Our waiter brought a couple of tastes of wine before we decided on one. We ordered our meal and it was just fabulous. Our waiter (Rob?) was personable, prompt and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed him. After dinner, my husband was feted with a pretty plate of birthday cake. This isn't just another high end steak house that is so full of itself that it can't add the little personal touches that make the evening special. Great food, experienced knowledgeable wait staff, and personal touches. Worth every penny. We're going back for drinks and the seafood tower next time. Can't wait!

Wonderful as always.

By Greg M |

Another great meal. Tuna was great, my Caesar Salad was good. My steak was cooked just the way I like it, rare, and it came out perfect. Service was good as usual. Might be expensive, but good up be pampered once in a while.

Excellent & Consistent

By Joe S |

I have been to this restaurant a dozen times and it was fabulous every time. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is tremendous and the quality of the meat is the best in Dallas. Extensive wine list with a knowledgeable sommelier who can explain wine without being snobby or condescending.

Fantastic as always!

By piglet0576 |

My husband & I have tried all kinds of steakhouses, but we tend to always come back to Ruth's Chris. It's our favorite! We celebrated our 20 year anniversary in July & the service was fantastic as always. We were greeted by name at the door & seated immediately. Our waiter greeted us as well & asked about our kids (indicating they keep client notes). The menu offers a great selection & there are typically specials as well. I tend to always order the same thing..the chopped salad, petite filet & mashed potatoes. I've never once been disappointed, not had a more tender steak. We are fans of their cheesecake & berries. This year they treated us to 2 desserts, both were excellent. The wine selection allows for variety & cocktails are usually strong. It is pricey, the two of us usually spend $150-$200 as everything is a la carte. However, I couldn't possibly recommend another steakhouse!

Disappointed 51st Anniversary Dinner

By Manny N |

My spouse and I ordered steaks, a petite ribeye and bone-in NY strip steak, both medium rare. When served on very hot plates, the steaks ended up medium well and chewy. Too much fat on the ribeye and the other one was a bit tough. The sides of bake potato and grilled asparagus were not what we expected from this place either. The complimentary strawberry cake did not seem better than the cheese cake as a substitution. Ambiance was satisfactory and service was extraordinary though. Will try to make it up with my dear spouse in short order.

Disapointing, overpriced

By gba2705 |

Outdated locale, not even clean, food so-so, steaks overpriced and not well prepared, a disapointment.

Nice Place

By TexasTravelertx |

I have dined in several Ruth Chris restaurants around the U.S. and have to say this is one of the nicest. Seating was well spaced and the bar is separate from dining room. Steaks are tender, blue crab cakes could use improvement in their presentation(looked like they were scooped out of a box), and the shrimp plate is very good. Menu items are a la carte, unless they run a special on the menu. There is also valet parking, if needed.

Always wonderful

By Mary H |

We can always count on an outstanding meal at Ruth Chris. The steaks are the definition of perfection. I particularly like the filet. The sides are also delicious. The service is impecable.

Family Dinner over the Holidays!

By Charlotte D |

We had a great experience at Ruth Chris! Our waiter Kosta was fantastic. We had 8 in our party and were given a little room off of the main dining room. It was cozy and just perfect for our family dinner! The food was amazing! My steak was a little overdone, but the others were perfect! The lobster was cooked to perfection! We highly recommend the creme brûlée! Never better!!

Favorite steakhouse

By Babester95 |

We always try every Ruth's Chris in each city we are in. This one didn't disappointment (as usual). We were sat quickly and our waiter Zach was at our table promptly taking our drink order. We always order are usual filet (medium), our son swears by the lamb chops/mint jelly then we switch up from the broccoli augratin , Julian fries, potatoes augratin (it's a lot of food so don't order them all at once). Zach was very friendly and attentive to us. We asked for the banana cream pie (which usually you have to ask for it in advance) lucky us a larger party had ordered several so we were able to snag one for our table. You can't beat their berries/cream, cream brûlée, or bread pudding! The only down fall is the price of the wines, it's over priced. This is a nice, classy restaurant in which you can easily share a meal. I highly recommend eating at any of the Ruth's Chris. Remember not to touch the HOT plate! Ask for Zach at this location!

Temperature Issues in the Kitchen

By Carolyn C |

Went to Ruth's Chris to celebrate my birthday. Service was excellent as was the food once the kitchen got the food temperatures right. We all had the 6 oz. fillet; all three were cooked well done although mine was supposed to be medium rare and my daughter's medium. The lobster bisque was cold; it did have some small pieces of lobster which was a small consolation. The crab cakes were sizzling hot, but none of us cared for them. The creamed spinach was cold; the second batch was hot and delicious. The potatoes au gratin were hot and loaded with cheese; they were wonderful. Both the lobster tail and shrimp that came with the fillet were delicious. We took the cheesecake dessert home; good but definitely lacking in berries. FYI we weren't the only table to complain about the temperature of the steaks. For what we paid, they can do better.

No Better steak in Town

By PLcoppell |

We were invited to Ruth's Chris for a financial presentation. The filet was served on a 500° F plate on top of a floating slurry of butter and garlic. The steak was absolutely cooked to perfection. In fact, my spouse ordered her steak black and blue (raw for us not so carnivores). Her steak was seared perfectly on both sides and near raw on the inside. the sides were mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The dessert was a peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake, which completed the end of the meal. The ambience in the main part of the restaurant is quiet but not too subdued to stifle conversation. I would have spent my own money to dine in the restaurant.

Best Steak, Great Sides, Generous Salad, Nice Service!

By Kimberly M |

Excellent price-fixed dinner, about $45. Included smaller tenderloin filet, smaller side (vs family style), full salad and a dessert. Wine was $75+, but great value for the meal. Steak was perfect! Bearnaise sauce a plus:-) Both potato choices were excellent too… I had whipped with garlic, my husband had fingerlings. Server was friendly and attentive. Learned that Sun-Thur, 4:30-7:30 pm there are $9 wine and appetizer specials in the bar! We'll be back!

Good food, but not what it use to be

By txjmorr |

We have been going to Ruth Chris for 20+ years. I think it may be time to take Ruth Chris out of our rotation. Two or three times a year for the past few years we have gone to the location in far north Dallas. Tonight may be the last time. The food was very good. But...we had ordered potatoes au gratin the old fashion (when we made our reservation several days ago) the way they used to make it up until 5 or so years ago, but got the new version. When the bill came it had 3 orders of calamari that we did not order on the bill...we had to get removed. We did not get hot bread until we asked several times about it. The prices are high, but the food is very good. The place is nothing special any more. Ruth would be turning over in her grave if she saw what the chain has become.

Fine Dining

By Jerry D |

I always enjoy Ruth Chris when in Dallas and delight getting a booth or table to dine leisurely on a good quality steak while doing business on my iPad. Staff are attentive, but do not distract me from my work. The steak is of high quality, cooked commensurately and on this visit I ordered roasted Brussels sprouts along with the steak. I'm not a big eater so I ordered no appetizer or dessert. I did have a glass of red wine with the steak, an old fashioned cocktail ending the meal with coffee and Bailey's. Total cost was $102.95 and I left a $25 gratuity for a total bill of $127.95. I liked the fact that the tables provide distance between parties and on this evening I was assigned an entire dining booth for myself, giving me plenty of distance from other tables and people's conversations, although noise sometimes can be a slight problem when the restaurant is packed. I will be back next time I am in Dallas.

Yes, it's worth it.

By texasgrl71 |

Overall excellent experience. Service was great. We had a reservation, but were told to wait in the bar until our table was ready. We didn't even wait long enough for our waiter to deliver drinks to the table. Food was fantastic, nothing was rushed. Portions are good-sized and there wasn't anything I was not happy with. Probably the best steak I have ever eaten - totally fork-tender. This is NOT a cheap place to visit (my 6oz filet was $44 by itself), but for an occasional night out or a special occasion, it is totally worth it.

Great Service but Not Great Steak

By jittus2015 |

The restaurant is large and was quite busy this Father's Day for Brunch. Seared Ahi for a starter was really good. Steaks just did not have the flavor. Steaks, being the main course should be served on a full plate and not on a small oval plate. Is too expensive for what it offers. Service was pretty good. Background music would help. Needs lot more to reach a full 4/5 star status.

5 course champagne dinner pairing disaster

By Randy V |

Reserved a table for four for this highly hyped event with limited seating. First drink nobody could finish too sugary sweet. Second pairing slightly better, third course they attempted to pass off watercress salad for radicchio, that is when I called the manager over to discuss the scam. He tried to explain the listed menu ingredient's were not available, I explained that the salad as presented was not edible, and requested a substitute price less than the $125 meal fee. Ruth Chris was kind enough to comp our dinner experience. I have always enjoyed this steak house and will most definitely return.

I keep coming back....

By Sonja S |

I have visited this Ruth's Chris three times in 2022 and I cannot say enough about the service and the food. Particularly Tom Stansfield. He has been our server during all three visits. He is incredibly perceptive, kind, patient, knowledgeable, appropriately checks-in with you and unobtrusive. It is very difficult these days to find a restaurant with a top notch waitstaff (I fully understand why. A lot has happened in the industry/world since March 2020). However, you will not get good service right now unless you pay for it in a fine dining establishment. This Ruth's Chris is just that. Fine Dining without the stuffy feel and an excellent staff. Tom Stansfield makes the experience worth every penny. The other waitstaff are also very friendly and professional. I typically rate restaurants hard because I graduated from the Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management in 1995, so I have some idea about what should/should not be taking place in the flow of service. From now on I will always ask for Tom when I visit Ruth's Chris Dallas, but I'm sure that I will be in good hands with any of the staff at this location.

Absolutely amazing

By tbone1616 |

Ruth Chris steak without a doubt the best steak you can get anywhere. I went on Thanksgiving Day. The service was amazing & the food off the charts great. Steak came exactly as ordered. It was. Dry hot & stayed thar way with the heated plate. Side dishes were great too boot. All the way around you can’t go wrong eating at Ruth Chris

Phenomenal steak

By nick c |

My wife and I love Ruth's chris. We live in Tulsa, oklahoma so it's about a 4-5 hour drive to dallas to enjoy a good steak, just like we like it. We've made two special trips down to Dallas just for dinner at Ruth's chris, and each time it's spot on perfect. We've brought people with us and we've recommended people to try it. Everyone is always blown away, and they'll agree it's the best steak they've had. They bring it to such a high heat 1,800 I believe and it comes out on a 500 degree plate, it sears the flavor into the steak so well. You will not regret eating here. The prices aren't too bad either for the amount of food and quality. Thankfully they are almost done building the one in Tulsa, so now I won't have to drive 5 hours one way for steak.

Little Disappointed.

By Lmorrisbal |

Usually love ruth chris, but service was s-l-o-w, food was just ok, not exceptional as usual. Nothing specific just was a little disappointed.

Good Steak

By Tastefullycoco - The Simple Treasures |

I enjoyed my dinner at Ruth Chris Steak House. The service was excellent and very accommodating. My waiter picked a very good Pinot Noir wine for our meal that was excellent. I had a filet and it was cooked to perfection. The potatoes were ok and I was very disappointed in the creamed spinach. Overall good experience if you are in the mood for a traditional steak house experience.

Company Celebration

By Culinayart1 |

We took our sales staff for a celebratory dinner , there were 10 of us total. The waiter was very attentive at our seating but was a bit pushy with wine list suggestions. We started with several appetizers , including crab cakes and tuna . The appetizers were very good . We ordered main courses and the overwhelming smell of butter from the steaks was very unappealing. The same of the stuffed chicken. Way too much butter and oil. I realize it was classic cooking but it was cholesterol overkill. The absolute best item I tasted was the sweet potatoes - they were to die for ! The atmosphere in general was nice. We lost the waiters attention a few times during the evening and had to flag him down for things. We ordered dessert and I ordered the bread pudding . I didn't like it at all . It was not at all what I had expected - the texture was more like corn bread and there was very little sweetness and absolutely no creaminess. The wine was way overpriced ( a retail $23 of wine was selling for $110 on the restaurants list- a little higher than industry standard mark up) When presented with the final bill , the waiter was again a little pushy about adding a tip , suggesting he could add 25% for gratuity. It was an enjoyable outing but it was a little overpriced based on the quality we received.

Really disappointing...a steak house that can't cook a steak medium rare

By JimB |

Five of us went to celebrate the birthday of one of the wives and she had selected the restaurant. One of the dishes was a small steak and lobster tail. The guest that ordered it asked that the lobster tail be well done...it wasn't, it was mushy. I had an 11oz steak and asked for it medium rare...there wasn't a hint of red or pink in the dish. I don't send meals back....I just don't GO back. The husband of the birthday girl also asked for his medium rare and his also was medium well. He sent his back and the next one was even more done.

Amazing steaks!

By Whitley22 |

Service is impeccable! Steaks are served on a hot plate so they stay hot throughout the entire meal! Sides are separate but large enough to share

Birthday Dinner

By carrbtraveler |

This has been one of my fav's since the Love Field location, but not my husband's. We waited over an hour for our reservation on a Valentine's Day many years ago. However, since I adore the steaks there, we went there this week for my birthday and had the most divine service and food for our dinner! We were greeted by the hostess and shown to the booth my husband requested. The hostess sprinkled "Happy Birthday" sprinkles on our table with birthday cakes and other sprinkles. Brian waited on us and was superb. The entire evening was divine and the service was so spectacular down to the fact they now give you a key fob to beep when you are ready to leave the table and your car is waiting for you at the valet vs. waiting to hand in a ticket. We thought that was fantastic!! You can not beat the steaks at this restaurant in all of Dallas. The sizziling plate is to die for!! I wish the lobster tail was Australin cold water vs. Caribbean warm water, but it was still good, not just as tender as it could have been. We love Old Warsaw for its charm. Hotel St. Germain is also excellent. I think my husband might be revived for Ruth's Chris after this evening as it was just excelent. I do wish they would do Prime Rib occasionally. We will be going back to The Palm for Prime Rib this month for their Sunday special prime rib. I wanted to compare and contrast for those choosing a place and hope I have done so. The food and the service at Ruth's Chris was outstanding and we will return again. The sizzling steak if that is what you want, then you want to go here. All sides are also fantastic. Enjoy!!! Your special occasion awaits! I hear hearts are sprinkled on anniversarys! Your meal and service will not disappoint.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

By Elizabeth F |

FABULOUS! From Valet attendant to hostess to wait staff to manager, I was treated like family come to visit but with all the respect of a treasured dignitary. Oh! I haven't even mentioned the exquisitely prepared twin lobster tails & succulent filet. My absolute FAVORITE place to eat in all of Dallas' 3,000+ restaurants.

Wow! From Start to Finish Excellence

By planopearl |

Went last night celebrating my son and girlfriends 5-year anniversary. We were greeted warmly by the host & hostess and able to be seated to a booth without a reservation. We are asked about the occasion and we said it was an anniversary. They sprinkled little red hearts on the table and made her feel very special. 3 in our party opted for the dinner special, (starter, main, side and dessert). I had the NY strip plus the extras. Everyone’s steak was perfectly prepared and delicious. Our two waiters were very friendly and attentive and when dessert time came they upgraded the deserts. The dinner special seemed to be a nice value. All-in-all we could not have been happier with the service and the food. We will certainly be back!!

Excellent Visit

By Rich B |

My wife and I decided to have our 52nd Anniversary dinner at this location, after not having been for many years. Almost everything about our meal was excellent: the decorated table, service from Ginni, salads, main course (8 oz filet), side dishes, wine, and particularly the relatively leisurely pace of the meal (about 90 minutes total). The only thing I did not care for was the bread pudding dessert. As expected, it was pricey, but unexpectedly it was not very tasty. It was just all "tasteless batter," no raisins, no real flavor.

All time favorite

By TheFordFamily |

My husband and I eat here annually for our anniversary and LOVE the staff, the restaurant location, and the food. Each time we go in the staff remember us (even after a year apart!), they prepare some decorations on our table, and they cook OFF MENU for us. A girl cannot feel more loved when Chef makes her steamed peas and they don't even have peas on the menu!!! The filet is to die for, as is the berries and sweet cream. Even the valet staff are the most professional people. It is worth the cost, worth waiting for, and one day I'll get to eat in their wine room (we've been there 18 years running and I still haven't been able to eat in there!) Seriously the BEST food you're going to find anywhere. The team at Ruth's Chris North Dallas make every dining experience the best one you'll ever have.

another good Ruth's Chris steak

By ocaptainmycaptain |

Expect to spend a bit more for the steaks here but they are worth it. Really love their wine selection, service, and consistency. We've eaten at Ruth's all over the world and you can expect the same quality everywhere.

Always good.

By Kma M |

I can remember when this was one of the first places to get a prime steak. Still very good food. We always enjoy going.

Try another steak house

By KathyofCroix |

I've always wanted to try a Ruth's Chris steakhouse, even after I read some of the negative Trip Advisor reviews for this one. I should have tried one of the other steakhouses in Dallas with better reviews. So, what was the problem? I'll start with the seating. The table was too small to hold all the glasses and plates four people will need. The waitress kept trying to take the bread because she needed the room on the table. As for the meal, the steak was good (not excellent). I shared a baked potato with someone and they cut the potato in half, placed it face down on a small plate; then cut the bottom of it. It looked like the insides had already been removed sitting on the plate. It was not hot and the toppings didn't melt. The only real plus was the dessert; we shared two which were excellent. The thing that displeased me the most was that the waitress brought my friend a 16 oz. rib eye instead of asking which cut she wanted. How many women can eat a pound of steak plus the sides??? When asked why she was given such a big steak, the waitress answered, "You didn't say, so I brought you the big one.". So, now I've been to a Ruth's Chris.......I won't go back.

Great for steak

By Tim B |

Over the past 15 years I've taken my family to a special Christmas Eve dinner. This past Christmas Eve we went to Ruth's Chris Steak House on North Dallas Parkway. We were a party of 10 and our table was ready when we arrived. Our wait staff was most helpful in guiding us through their menu, explaining a few specials and making some suggestions. My group are serious meat eaters, so we all ordered steak: ribeyes, filets and a huge porterhouse split by my daughter and her husband. The steaks all arrived together, just off the grill and were delivered by several servers so everyone's food was hot. All the sides were excellent, wonderful Caesar Salad, huge baked potatoes perfect for sharing and a fabulous Lobster Mac and Cheese! I've eaten at all the Dallas steak houses and can honestly say, Ruth's Chris is the best! It's a comfortable 5 Star Restaurant in my book! Ruth's Chris will be our family tradition!

Disappointing...mostly

By GoGatorsWayne |

We had been waiting and wanting to go to this restaurant for a while. It was a special dinner. The food was good, really good. The service was OK. However, the tables were close together, and it was an experience more like a Steak and Ale than Ruth's Chris - which we had heard so much about it. I expected amazing service. It was just good. The food was excellent. However, the big disappointment was the setting. I wanted it to be more intimate and less cafeteria. The lights were bright. And we were celebrating a special occasion, it looks like some of our fellow diners were celebrating coming in from the beach. Sweatshirts, hoodies, t-shirts, etc. That's fine and my wardrobe 99% of the time, but tonight I wanted special and paid a premium price for more of the ordinary.

Just awful!

By MrsBBT |

Should have been a sign...that on a Friday night at 7:30, a supposed highly rated steak house has only a 20 minute wait with no preexisting reservation and room in the bar?? We were lucky enough to request and receive a booth in the dining room, but that's where the goodness of this restaurant ends. We began with an appetizer of calamari - normally, one of our favorites - this one was drenched in what seemed to be a cheap bottled imitation of sweet and sour sauce infused with too much Tabasco. We sent it back and replaced it with Shrimp Cocktail. The shrimp were quite large and again, the cocktail sauce was too heavy handed with hot sauce. Next course - Salad. My husband ordered a wedge, I got the Tomato & Onion (house specialty). The beefsteak tomatoes were good, but the wedge was a joke! Limp lettuce and enormous chunks of bleu cheese! So disappointed, we elected to cut our losses and leave before wasting any more time or money in this establishment!

Ruth is the exception place

By Thomas M |

Ruth us the exception place to have a great steak although aka carts menu they offer a dinner that includes everything which was very good. Service was excellent meal fabulous. We plan to retire to get seafood tower l, looked great and tasty. But we went for steak which was good. Plates are very hot so be aware.

Still the best place of steak

By john d |

The steak was excellent, very good drinks and great service from a first day waiter. Always go back to Ruth's when looking for great steak.

Ambiance , charm, wonderful setting

By Donna R |

Atmosphere was great , the other three were bragging endlessly about how their steaks were the best ever , I attempted to and got three bites of my filet down, before I met a cold center of my medium filet, I took it home to Texarkana , and did not make a fuss I order to not ruin the others meal.. I opened it up the next morning to show my husband my beyond rare steak, looked fresh from the meat counter , after you got past the grilled outside... my husband graciously cooked it for me today, and it was good...

Great!

By EmmJoans |

We are here on 12/2/18 to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I ordered a salad and my husband ordered the stuffed chicken and sweet potato soufflé. One of our friends ordered the ribeye and shrimp. We enjoyed our meal.

Birthday celebration

By madeleine s |

Wonderful meal and attentive service Took my daughter here for dinner to celebrate her 50th birthday. Our waiters were so attentive and the meal was great, they surprised us with a complimentary birthday dessert surprise. The cocktails were great and the wine superb and the service was A+. Thank you Ruth Chris’s for a wonderful evening

Went the "Extra Mile"!

By Joe S |

Have dined at Ruth's Chris for many many years as our 'special occasion" restaurant. They always have served the best steaks and side dishes. Last night they went the extra mile. When they called to confirm the reservation, I asked if the had non alcoholic champagne. They did not but offered to obtain it. We had a splendid celebration dinner and the one non-drinker was able to toast with the group. Thank you Nick Dixit.

Underwhelming

By Heart_of_North_Texas |

We have eaten at Ruth's Chris several times previously and were meeting another couple at the Dallas Pkwy. restaurant to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Handicap parking is scarce and all the spaces were taken. We were surprised they had no record of our reservation and they told us we must have called another location. My husband read the telephone number he had called to make the reservation as their number was still in his phone. After reluctantly agreeing to seat us, the hostess left us awkwardly standing in the middle of the restaurant for several minutes while she went back to the front desk. She then seated us in a booth by the kitchen door. There is no wine steward and the waitress was not knowledgeable about the drink menu. The stuffed mushrooms, caesar salad and lobster bisque were disappointing compared to a nearby restaurant in Plano. The steaks were cooked to taste, but very salty and buttery. Service was slow and we left without dessert or any acknowledgement of our anniversary. There are better, less expensive options nearby that we will choose in the future.

Phenomenal Steak & Shrimp

By Kevin W |

Ate here on business on a Monday night which was very quiet - few other people there. Service was stellar and the dish I ordered was phenomenal and perfectly cooked the way I like it. I ordered the Steak & Shrimp. The steak is 8 ounces cut into 2 medallions and the shrimp are grilled and seasoned and presented wrapped around each other on top of the medallions. I'm not really sure how they do it actually but it was very cool!

What? That's the Steak?

By Rick Collins |

It is my darling wife and I 12th anniversary and I had a $50 gift certificate from one of my clients to go to a "premier" steak house, Ruth's Chris in North Dallas. It had romantic ambience and excellent servers that were kind, attententive and wanted to please. They congratulated us for the anniversary and then the server gave us a rundown on what was special. We saw the steaks were for a petite filet mignon, which I ordered was $40 and my wife ordered a 12 oz ribeye which was $42. We didn't mind the price; I ordered my medium rare and it came out rare, my wife's ribeye was 1/3rd fat...at least. She thought she'd had a piece of steak on her fork and it turned out to be FAT. We shared au gratin potatoes and they were not cooked all the way through. Over all folks, if you read this, don't go to Ruth's Chris...go to Golden Corral....they have a better steak and its way, way less.

Service

By Josh B |

valet service is horrible , guys that pulled my car smelled like a smoke box , my car smelled like some one just smoked in it took for ever to get parked and longer to get the car back , there food was great inside the restaurant perfect .

Best Steak I've had in Dallas by far

By jaleesa r |

I've been to several fancy steakhouses in Dallas. Ruth's is by far the best steak I've had. I had the 160z ribeye medium well, and my partner got the tomahawk steak medium. Both were juicy, tender, and well seasoned. Didn't need any steak sauce or additional seasoning. The only negative I can say is the waiter took awhile to come to our table to take our order. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a tender, well seasoned, decent size steak.

Excellent steak and sides for a fair price!

By GrapeHeart |

Ruth's Chris is one of the top steakhouse chains in the country for sure! Steak quality, cut and preparedness is first rate. Currently on their menu they have a section called "Ruth's Classics" which features one of their beautiful steaks with sides, starter and dessert for $46.00 or $56.00. It was a fabulous deal! I highly recommend the 6 ounce filet with couple of grilled shrimp. Amazing!

Ruth's Chris never fails to impress

By Barry D |

As a fairly regular patron of Ruth's Chris (about once every other month), I am rarely not impressed by their food and their impeccable service. This trip to celebrate April 11 (because it only comes once per year) was no different. One guest in our party's steak came out cooked more "done" than as ordered. The wait staff responded promptly and replaced it with another steak cooked to perfection. At the same time, they brought out freshly cooked sided dishes to replace the ones brought out with the original steak. So, stuff happens and they made it right. The other items we ordered came out timely and prepared perfectly. From the moment we sat down until we were ready to leave, Tong and his team did an outstanding job taking care of us. Looking forward to our next visit!

Poor Service, Sub-Par Food

By LeeanneRH |

My husband and I were given a gift card for an anniversary dinner here. He called and made a reservation 3 WEEKS in advance and requested a booth. When we got there, we were seated a "4-Top" table in the center of the dining room with many empty booths around us. They make a big deal out of sprinkling rose petals on the table. It wasn't. And, it went downhill from there. We asked to be moved and were. When the busboy came by to fill my water glass (at the second table, which he had already nicely done at the first), the female server yelled at him, "You should ask her first if she wants water." I promptly replied, "I do and he already asked me at the first table and I appreciate him remembering." Well, I guess that was what led to her charming behavior the rest of the time. She proceeded to lean against the side of the booth where I was sitting, so that to speak to her I had to completely twist around and look up. But, she didn't want to talk to me - she made it very clear by speaking directly to my husband about the specials, the wine list, and then continued to stand over my left shoulder. When my husband and I were discussing what we wanted, she continued to interrupt with her suggestions and pushing us to decide. We finally settled on a 20 oz. Cowboy Rib Eye (it came served on a small white plate it practically overlapped), a broiled Australian lobster tail (served cold, and we were only made aware of it because I asked about a lobster tale side dish and was told this was available "off menu"), mashed potatoes (runny and bland served with a ladle of melted butter that we poured off of it), "crab" stuffed mushrooms that were 99% breading and raw minced garlic, and creamed spinach that had no seasoning and some bland melted cheese on top. My husband had a beer, I had a glass of wine - and neither of us received a refill on water and were only asked if we wanted another drink AFTER we had finished our meal. Then dessert... the serve announced we would be receiving a small "courtesy" dessert for our anniversary. She put down the dessert menu, and picked up a '2-spoonful creme brulee' with a cookie that she placed on the table. I stated that I couldn't eat any flour-based dessert and she then told me about how the next time I ate there I should order the "Sin Cake" in advance because it was... wait for it... "off menu"... again. The decor is old, brown, and tired. The large glass windows overlook a woods-y view that is nice (the high point of the entire experience) What a disappointment!

Good & pricey steaks

By Pomlat |

Staff was nice and friendly, steaks were very good, the salad was a bit 'simple' - unchopped green leaves that were hard to eat without making a mess. There's practically no steak under $30 but they are good. But the service is nice.

Excellent dinner location

I enjoy this restaurant in North Dallas. I usually visit when traveling to this city. The food specials are excellent and the options are outstanding. A great restaurant for business meals and celebrating special occasions.

Great Happy Hour

Arrived with 8 friends for Happy Hour. Waiter pulled three round tables together and we had a blast. Drinks were fabulous and Happy Hour entrees were delicious. One of the best Happy Hour locations in town!!

If You Were Eating Your Last Dinner . . .

By Gary K |

. . . this would be the place to do so. I've been a Raving Fan of Ruth's Chris for 30 years. Now, get this straight: every Ruth's Chris is not the same. They are all exceptional, but this one is truly outstanding. My wife and I wouldn't go anywhere else. If I were eating my last dinner (say, for example, I was being shot into space the next day aboard a North Korean missile), I'd eat here: shrimp cocktail, house salad with remoulade dressing, petite rib eye (12 oz., medium), creamed spinach, chef's choice for dessert. Keep the Woodford Reserve DOUBLE OAKED (not the regular WR, the Double Oaked Woodford) full in my glass. PERFECTION ALL AROUND. Ask for the Mgr. Nick and tell him The Lawyer sent you. If you want a steak and don't eat at this Ruth's Chris, you're just camping out.

We've Tried Them All And We Always Return to Ruth's Chris For the Best Steaks

By Ralph C |

For our tastes there simply is no better place in greater Dallas for steak. My wife's fillet was tender, tasty and cooked exactly as ordered. My huge "Cowboy Bone-in Ribeye" was perfection and so large we brought a third of it home. The calamari starter, plenty big enough to share was outstanding in a tasty Asian sauce, probably the best we have ever had in Dallas. We spilt a wedge salad that had perfectly cool, crisp greens and a very generous portion of a very fine blue cheese. Desert was a bread pudding, delicious and also large enough to share. All in all, this was an outstanding meal worth every nickel we spent for our anniversary dinner. I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on the service. From the moment we left the car with the friendly valet, to initial reception and throughout the entire evening, service was impeccable. We generally find restaurant staff around here to be friendly but not always professional. There is only so much banter that should go on between server and patron before it gets intrusive. I wish I remembered or waitperson's name, because she was the finest we have had in recent memory. She was a major reason our experience was so good.

Never disappointed

By RaTa6 |

We have been to this location many times and not once have we ever been disappointed. It was our 22nd anniversary and we chose to go early and sit in the bar. We shared all items and it was mare than enough. Crispy Lobster, Spicy Shrimp, Steak Oscar, Steak Sandwich. The service is impeccable and the food always fabulous.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

By Patrick K |

I absolutely love Ruth’s Chris. It is a chain but I find it to be very good and the service to be exceptional like other nice restaurants I’ve been to. I was absolutely disrespected by the bartender. I never was asked if I wanted another drink and was basically brushed off by the bartender. I got up midway through my dinner to go to the restroom and the hostess asked if I was “heading out” as she knew I hadn’t paid as there was no one in the restaurant. The service was AWFUL. The tuna was also prepared very poorly, the steak was okay, and the creamed spinach was good. Will never be back the way I was treated. I might be young but I have money and deserve the same respect that others get (if they get respect in this restaurant). No surprise the restaurant was empty.

Great steaks

By LeonardTonyCordato |

The steaks are fabulous, top quality and prepared perfectly. However, the side dishes are over-priced at an average price of around $10. We had creamed spinach and it was not very good. Great wine selection, but once again a little overpriced.

Not So Great At Ruth's Chris!

By Windman69 |

Extremely disappointed with both management and food quality. The steaks came out well done...ordered medium. Side dishes came out cold! Contacted Corp Office and have not received satisfaction!! Waste of Time and Money!!

Enjoyable

By RLS46212 |

We always enjoy eating at this Ruth Chris. There is consistency in the service and food. Always a good wine list. Enjoyed our ribeyes very much. Our server was very attentive but not intrusive. I believe his name was Daniel. A good meal overall from start to finish.

Best Steak in the Metroplex

By DocShad |

Service is perfect, food is perfect, atmosphere is perfect. This was a great meal! Also, on the plus side, this meal for my wife and I was over $100.00 LESS EXPENSIVE than dinner the previous night at Truluck's. (Ruth's Chris was better meal anway!)

Fantastic place to eat

By BDS62 |

My wife and I just had the best time tonight and it was our first time to visit the restaurant. Our server, Tong was very attentive to our questions and gave great suggestions too. My wife had salmon and I had steak and shrimp. Both were perfect and so good! A very enjoyable evening for a Friday night!

Perfect Steaks, Great Food, and Great Atmosphere

By David K |

My wife and I had dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House on the North Dallas Tollway for Restaurant Week to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We ordered the Filet Mignon and the steak was a perfect medium. Very flavorful and very tender. We started with a dinner salad and also had a great chocolate cake for dessert. The atmosphere in Ruth Chris was low lights and very romantic. We will return next year as the entire evening for dinner at Ruth's Chris was perfect.

A real treat. Fantastic food, service, drinks

By Daniel K |

We went in for happy hour on a Friday night. $9.00 entrees, 9.00 drinks. The experience was enough to make us put this place on our list of special places to relax and enjoy. The sandwiches were superb, never had any better. The drinks were superb & ditto!! Tonya was our waitress. She was super also. Ruth’s Chris’s happy hour is like going to Ruth’s Chris and enjoying almost everything it has to offer....for less than 1/3 the price!!

Wine Room Celebration

By Texmann |

Private wine room for intimate business dinner for 8. Excellent service and food. Seafood tower was fresh and full of variety. My bone in ribeye was tender and done perfectly! My wife's filet was also delicious. Excellent wine selection. Cocktails were great, try the Old fashioned. Delicious white chocolate bread pudding for desert, enough to split!.

Really excellent!!!!

By klb990 |

There are many excellent choices for upscale steak houses in Dallas. So we don't get to Ruth's Chris too often. But after our meal the other night, it's on the list to visit again very soon. We were a group of 8 celebrating someone's retirement. Everything was excellent....I don't know how to state that any differently. It was just excellent. But I will call out specifically that the steak was uber-excellent. I ordered a petite filet. It was ultra tender and the flavor was amazing....and it was cooked to perfection. I topped it off with a side of béarnaise sauce. We ordered multiple appetizers and side dishes. Service was professional and attentive. My only regret is that I was too full to order dessert. I don't think you can go wrong here.

Perfection

By TZalenski |

We celebrated our #20 anniversary with friends and had a fabulous dinner. Our service was impeccable....our server made great suggestions & was just so nice!! I ordered the filet served Oscar style with lump crab meat instead of a crab cake & it was delish. We have been to ALL the steakhouses in Dallas and I would vote this one equal to Al Berniets & DelFriscos....just a wee bit quieter and a lot more charming. You will NOT be disappointed here.

Relaxing Atmosphere

By susieQ304 |

We celebrated a birthday here a what I consider a "high" end restaurant. The ambience is quiet and subdued. We had a table window which looked out over a little wooded stream. Easy place for conversation. The steaks were good, not the best I have ever had, but good. A small cake was provided in honor of the birthday celebrant. Service was excellent. Valet parking is provided.

A VERY EXPENSIVE DINNER

By Darrell Y |

Most expensive restaurant I have ever dined in. Every item on the menu is Ala Carte to drive up the prices. My wife and I ate here for our Anniversary. We both had T-Bone steaks with their special sauce which cost $63 each, two crab cakes at a cost of $21 dollars, 2 Cosmo drinks for $29, Mashed Potatoes at $12 for a small bowl, same thing for Potatoes au gratin, The only thing without cost was the water and the bread. The Brussel sprouts were overcooked and removed, but they failed to take it off our bill, I assume hoping we would not notice. The cost for the night was $273 with a $10 tip for valet which was supposedly a courtesy. If you cannot afford to pay VERY HIGH prices you should bypass this location. You only live once. My charge card ended up being charged a second time due to lack of paying attention to remove an unwanted item off our bill.

nothing compares

By 249cbbbb |

They still make the best steak I've ever tasted. And the staff didn't even flinch when we knocked over a half full bottle of red over their pristine tablecloth. Even when they moved us to a new table and we did exactly the same thing five minutes later.

Below average

By Nissa H |

Tried it last night with hubby. Service was ok. Food below average, even saltgrass ( not fine dining) rib eye steak is better. Didn't let me customize my dish. Take home bag didn't include my side of mashed potatoes. Bread/ butter was brought late, arrived w my appetizer.

Great food, awesome service

By NancyLim6 |

We went there for resturant week and the service was awesome. Our table always clean and new silverware for each course. Our wait staff was very knowledgable with everything on menu and wine list. I love how steak come out sizzle with garlic butter on top. Mash potatoes was buttery and delicious. Cream brûlée with cookie was good. Overall, food and service was superb. We will definitely return

Never disappoints.

Anniversary dinner celebration this time. We usually dine here for this as well as our birthdays. Last dine was a combination of my birthday and a retirement celebration with 12 friends and family in a private room. We have dined at many of the "best" steakhouses in the US, and for our tastes, this continues to be the best in terms of cuisine and service. I had arranged flowers for the occasion and notified the restaurant of their arrival. They asked if I wanted them on the table or presented when we arrived. I opted to have it already set up. We arrived and the flowers were set up as well as rose petals and tiny plastic heart decorations on the table. Free valet parking btw. Nice. We always seem to get stuck in a rut, albeit a wonderful rut, and ordered our usual; a small seafood tower came first jam packed with Maine lobster, king crab legs and knuckles, colossal lump crab meat and jumbo cocktail shrimp served with both Sriracha-lime seafood sauce and cocktail sauce. Great appetizer for two, well chilled and packed with flavor. We were asked if we wanted drawn butter, but we declined. Next up was the salad course. If you haven't dined here, be forewarned the sides are huge and are ample for two people, so get the to share. We split the RUTH’S CHOP SALAD; A Ruth's Chris original. Julienne iceberg lettuce, baby spinach and radicchio are paired with red onions, mushrooms, green olives, bacon, eggs, hearts of palm, croutons, bleu cheese dressed in a lemon basil dressing and topped with crispy onions. This is our favorite salad here that is excellently split at the table by the waiter. So many wonderful flavors dancing in your mouth! Promptly after finishing our salad course, the sizzling, perfectly medium rare 22 oz. cowboy ribeye shows up. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! So tender packed with beefy flavor, my eyes rolled back in my head. Can't beat it in my opinion! For sides we selected mushrooms in a spectacular sauce that was to die for. Different preparation from our last dine and much better. Also to share we ordered a baked potato to split. They slice it longways and set it on the plate with the sliced area down. It's then opened from the top and the toppings applied. Looks just like a normal baked potato, but just a half. PERFECT! Of course, we couldn't eat it all, so it was boxed and then the complimentary anniversary dessert came; a banana fosters cheese cake. Nice small dessert to share after a large meal and a great ending. A note about the waiter, TONG; I recognize Tong as an exceptional waiter. Always checked after each course was delivered to make sure it was to our liking. After we finished, he packed us some extra bread and butter. And a word about the check handling...he handed us our credit card instead of leaving it in the check folder. How many times have you forgotten your card in a check folder? Right? Genius! Yes, we will definitely continue coming back and we had them make a comment in our file to request Tong as our waiter from now on. GREAT steakhouse! Thank you Ruth's Chris for another memorable dining experience!!!

Great Steak!

By Lori S |

Saw an ad for a special Christmas meal at Ruth's Chris that mentioned steak and lobster for under $50! We thought salad and sides might be included, since it was a "special meal" for Christmas. When we got to the restaurant our waiter told us there was no special menu, just the regular one, and sure enough the steak and lobster was on the regular menu for just under $50. We started our meal with the Ruth's Chop Salad which we found to be a little rich for our tastes. Then I had the filet and lobster. The steak was fabulous!! The lobster was a little chewy, not as sweet as I was expecting. My husband had the bone in filet, which was also excellent. Our ala cart sides were so so. They over cooked the sweet potato casserole, which I usually love, and the mushrooms needed more flavor (butter or wine perhaps). We told our waiter we were going to skip dessert and hurry home because of the bad weather. When the bill came, we had an extra charge on the bill that wasn't ours!! We don't know if the waiter slipped it in because we didn't seem like we had time to read over a bill, but it left a bad taste in our mouths, so to speak! So we would say, order the steak and real your bill!

Never disappoints

By Jedda1 |

What can I say. It’s as consistent and as good as it gets with steak! The au gratin potato’s are a must have. We all had filets and with the sizzling steak in butter what more can you ask for! Harvest salad was a great surprise this time. Light and dressed perfectly as I typically get the wedge. Went with Brussels sprouts and they were great! Wonderful birthday dinner!

Among Dallas's Best

By DW752013 |

I wasn't sure about going to a "chain" when we were picking an upscale place to eat in Dallas. We were close by though and tired of driving (which is really the only way to get around in Dallas) so Ruth's Chris won by default. I am very glad we ended up here. The wait staff was as accommodating as anywhere I've been - we even had some people in our group who were not from America and for whom English was a second (or third) language. The steak was as good as I've had anywhere period. The rest of the food and overall experience was as good as anywhere I've eaten in Dallas - and I lived there for several years.

Great food, service, and cocktails. Always happy to return when in the area. Lobster Bisque is fantastic!

Mixed bag

By TexasTravel59 |

Our visit to Ruth's Chris at this location had its ups and downs. One of the ups was attentive service in general, but not entirely consistent throughout this experience. Drinks were kept refreshed timely throughout the meal - an up. It took quite a long time to get our order entered - a down. In regard to the food, some of the steaks were done perfectly to order and of very high quality. My steak was ordered medium and, as a previous reviewer commented, was not at all a high quality filet and, to make matters worse, was cooked well done to the point of shoe leather. The wait staff was timely with taking this back and getting it corrected within their capability to do so. Also as a previous reviewer commented, the creme brûlée was absolutely the best I have ever tasted and with excellent presentation. My Caesar salad was memorably excellent - perfect in portion as well as balanced in dressing. I would come here for a Creme Brûlée and coffee with my wife following a night event. I would probably not choose this restaurant for business clients where I need a consistent and predictably excellent full meal experience - the bag is too mixed.

Great Steak House, Average Experience

By carrbtraveler |

First, let me say this is one of the best steak houses! One of my favorites. This experience was less than satisfactory other than the food (if it arrived of course!) We ordered a bottle of wine and it was delivered and poured (that was the last time it was poured, we had to do it ourselves for the rest of the evening). We got our salad which we split and my husband got the soup. Again, great food, loooove the blue cheese dressing and we got extra so it was perfect. Then it kind of went downhill. Our entree's were delivered, sizzilling as always except we had to push our own appetizers to the side of the table to make way for the 500 degree plate and I had no steak fork for 5 minutes to actually eat my steak. Ooops! It was finally delivered after my steak quite sizzling. I could tell something was going wrong at the next table too. The HUGE GAF we overheard one waiter say to another while we were having our appetizers was to tell the other waiter "just serve it as is and we will fix what is wrong or we will have to refire the whole meal." I have to say I have never heard that before. It was not our entree, but the manager "Pat" came by shortly to speak to them. I am not sure what was wrong with their meal, but I was appalled to hear that comment. So after our entree arrived, it lacked a $15 side item we ordered even after 15 minutes. After our waiter finally came by, we asked him where it was and he said it would "be right there." Another 5 minutes goes by and we are half way done with our meal when the manager stops by to ask "how is you meal"? I said "please hold the oscar side we ordered because we are almost done with our meal and we do not need it now." He said could he still send it and comp it. I was hesitant because crab does not really heat up. I said no, we really did not want it and he said "we will figure it out later". Guess what, never later happened. It showed up on our table when we were 3/4 done with dinner and we did not eat a bite of it as we were full at that point. The table was cleared by our waiter (keep in mind we served our own wine for over an hour because he never came back to do it). I left the table and my husband ordered an after dinner drink for me and a desert to share. When we got the bill, no compensation what so ever for what we asked not to be serverd over half way through our meal and we were charged for it. Did Pat ever come back to our table to ask how we were? NO. After the bill was presented, he was passing by and I motioned to him and mentioned I was not happy about the charge for the Oscar we never got till more than half way through dinner he offered to come back and discuss and we were charged for it. I said "we will pay for it because you put it in a "to go bag" but the crab will not heat up well. So "comming back to talk about it", did not happen until then. After that, when our waiter brought our bill back, we were comped for the Oscar we did not receive until well after half of dinner service and they comped the desert we split which we still ordered after all the service mishaps. I can't exlain this evening because the service is usually fantastic and the food was really great even if we had to clear our own dishes to make room for the entree and pour our own wine. What truely was disappointing was not to cut into my sizzling steak while I cleared my own dishes and waited 5 minutes for a knife to cut into my steak which was no longer sizzling. That was a disappointment. Food is still the best, but there are too many great steak houses in Dallas to get this service from and to see Pat go back to the table across from us at least 5 times and never again to us, well, this is going to be a streatch for my husband again. Service was much better when the Cedar Springs location was still available. Just our opinion and our family as well. Still the best steak house on the North Tollway, service just really disappointed in all aspects tonight. Best of luck to you next time!

27th Anniversary Dinner

By tenisheat2016 |

My husband and I celebrated our 27th anniversary here we had the Barbecued shrimp & the Petite Filet & Shrimp. Both were very good. The white wine butter sauce was amazing and the steak was so tender that the sliced like butter. Our waiter was very attentive and funny as hell. The crème brule & bread pudding are to die for! Love this restaurant.

Disappointing at Best - Not a good value

By BGW |

For an upscale restaurant, this restaurant is a disappointment. First, the good, my Ribeye was fantastic, and the creme brûlée may have been amongst the best I've tasted (this is why it is upped from one stars to two stars). And while that is wonderful, my wife's filet looked like it was a waste piece of meat, full of lumps, fat, and gristle, and she was quite dissatisfied - This is a $40+ dollar filet. It was most definitely not a filet worthy of an upscale steakhouse. The asparagus looked like it was purchased from a discount grocery store. Our guest ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, to which I assured her it would be wonderful. It was absolutely disgusting - perhaps one of the worst things I have ever tasted - almost as bad as Icelandic fermented shark. I'm convinced the fish was spoiled. I was repulsed and could not wash out the repugnant flavors from my mouth for the entire evening. And I only had one bite. She had never eaten Sea Bass before and did not realize that it was probably spoiled until after the meal when I had my little bite. She had not said anything about the flavor because I had assured her that Sea Bass was wonderful, and she did not want me to feel bad for her not liking the meal... In short, a total disappointment.

Anniversary Dinner

By piglet0576 |

My husband and I recently had another fantastic dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. We've tried so many other steakhouses in the Dallas area, but we keep coming back to Ruth's Chris. Valet parking is quick & easy. The service and atmosphere are both fantastic. The hostess & staff always make sure to mention our kids or anniversary or some other personal little tid bit of information to let us know they appreciate our business. They have a thorough wine list by the glass or bottle, as well as a full bar that often features a talented piano player. We both love the chopped salad, filet and mashed potatoes, and the cheesecake is the best on the planet! Dinner is pricey, but so worth it!

Excellent Steakhouse

By Kimberly S |

I was a little nervous to try this place after reading some negative reviews, but I really enjoyed it. We ordered the 40 ounce tomahawk ribeye to share, and it was very good. Would eat here again.

Very good Meal

By cksteeve |

My 2nd time at a ruth chris steakhouse (other one in Scottsdale Arizona). Had another steak dinner and it was great. Good food for the price. I recommend trying out the restaurant if you are in the area.

It don't get no better than this!

By Houston N |

You can't find a better steak in the state of Texas, than those served at Ruths Chris Steakhouse. The best. Prepare to spend $100 or better per couple but worth it.

Very Good but Better Options Elsewhere

By rslot |

We both had the filet and were impressed with the quality and flavor. We shared a potatoes such gratin side and chocolate explosion dessert. It was all very good but we had eaten at III Forks a month or so ago and felt the quality and included sides there were better. Also the atmosphere at Ruth's Chris is nice but rather bland especially compared to the rooms at III Forks. So for the same cost as RC, you could get a better experience at 3Forks or even Del Frisco's.

Great happy hour menu

By Jake W |

Went to the bar to try the happy hour menu. Had the burger and fries which was outstanding. The burger was enormous and done perfectly. Did I mention it was only $8??

Extreme disappointment

By Rhonda D |

I love this chain in some places. Baton Rouge for example. This location is more than awful. Sooo, it’s Friday night, December 8th. Got a reservation at 7:45 no problem. First of all the waitress didn’t want us to order the wine we did. She said that the bartender would have to get the ladder to reach the wine we wanted, it would take a while. Well then don’t have so many wines. 2 courses didn’t even show up. My bisque and my daughters salad. All the while the wine is taking about 45 minutes to be taken off the shelf...que to when the steaks arrive. They look great! Except foolish me, I ordered Osso buco ravioli. It was stone cold. I got the manager. He takes it back. However he doesn’t ask if I would like it quickly microwaved so I can eat a few bites with my family so as my family is finishing their meals, mine finally arrives. My word! And the meal took nearly 3 hours to finish most of it NOT SPENT EATING OR DRINKING BUT WAITING. I was soooo disappointed. They discounted the meal, meaning they took off the missing food! But it was still 350.00. I will never grace their door again. Shame on them!

Service consistantly bad

Always bad service at bar. Several times the lady at bar overcharged me. When I brought it to her attention, she ignored the situation.

Able to Talk Biz

By Rebecca B |

Like taking clients to this particular steak house because you don't have to fight background noise. We were able to conduct business and have a great meal. Our steaks were done to perfection. The wine selection was good. It was a no fluff meal but that was what we wanted. Our waiter was a little odd but service was good.

So much less than we expected

By granada75 |

Ruth Chris has a great reputation, but that did not transfer to our experience. Service was good, but certainly not great. The steaks were not consistent. My wife's filet was excellent, but my ribeye was not very favorable or tender. The sides were just average. Plus the decor, if you can call it that, is hardly upscale. Given the prices, we left extremely disappointed. With so many better steak house options available in DFW, we won't be back.

Melt in your mouth steak

Another great meal. Keeping it simple; we spilt a Caesar salad and a ribeye steak accompanied with roasted cauliflower and crimini mushrooms. Mixed berries for dessert. Yum. Service was great as always.

Always a Quaity Meal

I don't think you can go wrong at Ruth's Chris if you like wine, a well cooked steak, and copious/varied sides and salads.

Sub par service on a Monday night

By George Kevin S |

Our party of seven dined on Monday Aug 8 for our nieces going away to college dinner. Food was as expected but service was sub par for a high end steak house. First issue was the assistant waiter had no idea who ordered which salads. No biggee. But once the bread was gone no one brought or asked if we wanted more until we asked. Biggest problem was after everyone was done with the main course, we waited an exceptionally long time for our waitress to re-appear to clear our table. And then waited again for an usually long time time for our desserts. During this time the waitress appeared to be at another table socializing with the guests at that table. It was not until my wife went to that table to ask the waitress about our desserts that she brought them. Once she brought them we were not interested and took them to go. Given the light number of diners on a Monday night we would have expected impeccable service. Not acceptable for high steak house prices and the number of other options in Dallas. We will not be back.

Expected better

By Bode H |

I have been a fan of Ruth's Chris for 15 years and eaten in at least of dozen of their locations. Food was OK. Meat was cooked to temp but somehow cooled quite a bit before reaching the table. Waiter was just plain bad. Sorry we did not go for your $150 recommended wine. You certainly let us know how we failed to measure up to your standards. Told the host on the way out we were disappointed but they did not ask why.

Anniversary Dinner

By Regina |

I chose this restaurant to celebrate 32yrs of marriage for my husband and I. Service was above average. The General Manager even stopped by our table just to congratulate us. My steak was wonderful, tender and juicy just the way I like it. Vegetables were steamed to perfection as well. I love this restaurant, high end, upscale, and totally worth the high price. We would love to return to soon.

steak was great

Great Place for Steaks

By CC C |

We don't eat at Ruth's Chris that often (mainly budget reasons) but whenever we do we're never disappointed. This time was no exception. Both of us got the Petite Fillets (one of which was ordered with shrimp) - both were delicious and cooked just right (medium rare is our preference). The asparagus and au gratin potatoes were perfect as well. Topped off with just the right sized crème brulee and a nice Cabernet, the perfect end to a long day. Note: Ruth's Chris (at least this location) is a place that is really not enforcing Covid precautions to a high degree; however the staff all wore masks and the tables were spaced far enough apart we didn't feel uncomfortable.

Another delicious meal at Ruth's!!

By Duvey711 |

This visit was our third or fourth trip to this particular Ruth's Chris. It is one of our favorite special occasion restaurants. It did not disappoint! Both my husband and I chose to order off the Ruth's Classics menu, which is a great deal (especially if you have ever dined at a Ruth's Chris that does not offer this!). We each got a salad, an entree and a side, and a small dessert. The steakhouse salad is always good, mainly due to the house-made ranch dressing (I could eat a bowl of it with a spoon!). My husband had the filet mignon; I had the 6 oz filet with the lobster tail. Sides were mashed potatoes and broccoli au gratin. I do not like cooked broccoli, except for this preparation. Everything was cooked to perfection and DELICIOUS. Very worth it! The service at any Ruth's is always great. We did not choose to order drinks with this meal, but every time we have before, the cocktails are very good.

Anniversary Dinner

By Mohsman |

Went here on a Sunday evening for our anniversary dinner. We come here reasonably frequency for special occasions. The food, ambience, menu choices, and service is of a consistent and very high-quality. Tonight we split a standard ribeye steak and had shoe-string potatoes, au gratin spinach and they are cheesecake. As per usual, the food was excellent. What fell short was our service. Our server, Modo, started off well explaining the specials and taking our drink orders. Unfortunately, we found out later from another server greeting a couple behind us, that brussels sprouts were one of the specials. We would've ordered them, had we known. It also took him a very long time to return to our table at various expected stages during the meal. The restaurant was half empty, and we finally began to set a timer to see how long it would take him to bring our dessert, bring our check, etc. Other than the slow service on a slow night, everything else was excellent, and my wife and I will return.
