Possibly the worst seating system ever. You wait at the front of the restaurant to put in your order, and your order is not taken until there is a seat available. So the line is ridiculously slow if they are busy. And you don’t know that unless someone in your party takes an open seat while you wait to order. Then they are rousted by the order taker, who patronizingly directs them back to wait with you in line. Because that seat is (secretly) reserved for the first person in line to order. And then, when you are finally able to order, because there are seats at the bar, when you go to take the seats you’ve been directed to, at the bar, the bartender informs you that the bar is full service, and if you sat there originally (instead of at a table IN the bar) you could have ordered from her. And, she tells us, sometimes—if there’s a line at the front—one of the bartenders will go over and tell people they can sit down and order at the bar. But they don’t always go over and tell people. And apparently the order taker at the front can’t be bothered to tell people they are welcome to sit at the bar and order there (although he seemed to think he was in control of who could sit at the bar too). The specialty coffees and food were good. So, the food was good, but the service at the front is terrible. My guess is that their nutty system will change. But if you’re there on market day, and you’re hungry, prepare for a confusion. Or skip it and go somewhere else.

Went for a brunch and some remote work. Food was really nice, ambiance is cozy and chic, prices are reasonable. A bit busy at the counter, but no big deal, I recommend!

We must have timed it right - no lines and we were able to switch to a patio table before the food arrived. This place was buzzing with customers. Service was quick. Food was incredible. We paid a dollar for parking on side of building. Overall this was a win. Cured salmon toast was delicious and just the right size and filling for lunch. Roasted chicken (sandwich) was wonderful. Amazing bread. Chips were thick crisp with slight hint of spices. Lavendar lemonade is a must try - not too sweet or tart - very refreshing!

Nice ambiance but disappointed that the dinner menu is pretty limited and the one item that looked appealing ( lamb hummus) they were out of and we were there at 5 pm so surprised that they would be out of it that early. I have been there for brunch and it was delicious . I wouldn't go back for dinner again but would return for brunch. I don't know if dinner is a recent addition but it would help to have more dinner selections with meat that are moderately priced ( such as the lamb hummus). Perhaps some daily specials would also be nice.

Sabine is a combo cafe and small bar and diner in Ballard. It does not have waitstaff in the morning. Served at the counter. Later in the day, it has a lunch space. And then dinner. There is a small bar in the back. Expect long lines. Please do not expect fine dining service. This is not this place. Great for teas, coffees, quick breakfasts such as avocado toast, etc.

Went here for a bachelorette dinner with a group of 10. Made reservations weeks ahead of our dinner and called back day before to confirm everything and was told our reservations was not processed as a Credit card was not placed to secure the reservation and hostess who took the reservation did not follow the correct protocol. Great, so what now ? Thankfully they were able to squeeze us in an hour later from our reservations. We got there a little earlier and were told to wait which was fine and decided to head to the bar and were told no, they don't appreciate guest standing around the bar area. The dude at the front desk was nothing but rude, arrogant with zero customer service skills. We told him we were going to go say hi to a friend sitting at the bar which we did and the bar tender looked at us and said, I'm not serving you. We were so taken back by the customer service at this place that we didn't feel like staying. But with the size of our group on a Friday in Ballard would be difficult to find a place. So we went to another bar and hung out till our 8:30 reservations. Went back for our reservation and thankfully were greeted by our super friendly server who was amazing. We sat outdoors and she had recommendations on drinks and food. Drinks were great here and food was yummy. Great variety for all dietary restrictions. From the hummus plate to the kebab plates everything was delish. Restaurant itself is beautiful. Overall, minus the lack of customer service by the hostess we enjoyed our girl time with good food and beverages. Hopefully Bellevue locations comes with better customer service!!

Quite extensive menu mixing sweet breakfast and savory dishes. The dishes are plentiful. Taste-wise, it varies depending on the dish chosen. A good choice for a quick and reasonably priced meal.

A mid restaurant that serves middle eastern food that also doubles up as a bar in the evening time. Best thing about this restaurant is its location tucked away in Ballard. The food is mid and the service is lack luster as everything is walk up to order and you bus your own tables like a fast food restaurant. Not fast food prices though. Drinks are surprisingly good.

Good gluten free- lots of choice! The only criticism is that you have to get your own coffee (which is often slower than food) and have to clear your own table. Food is tasty and good atmosphere.

This establishment is not welcoming to foreigners as they do not accept European ID cards for purchasing alcohol; instead, they require a passport. However, most European visitors do not carry their passports when they go out to eat and drink at night. Furthermore, the staff is closed-minded and impolite.

Fantastic food options, good ambiance, busy place. Lots of seating, but the place is popular. You can sit at the bar if its open, or take one of the many booths or side patio, or front patio. Is a bit pricey, as is most of Seattle - so I suggest ordering the dishes and not the sides.

I like breakfast places, and I was looking around my hotel for a new one. Sabine is more brunchy, but it does open at 9 and has a limited breakfast selection, but it's unique! I noticed Turkish eggs on the menu--made with whipped feta, herbs, arugula, avocado, seeds, aleppo butter and, of course, eggs, fried. It came with something called como bread, which turned out to be a rich sourdough-type. You order at the counter, and you can either wait for takeout or pick a table with a number on a tall metal holder. I sat outdoors on a covered patio next to what looked like a greenhouse. It was lovely to sit there and look at the plants (caution: the windows to the greenhouse are open, and if bees make you nervous, sit on the other side of the room). The coffee was good, the Turkish eggs delicious, and yes, I will be returning.

Absolutely loved Sabine! Super friendly staff, lovely decor and delicious food. We got the avocado toast, which was a large portion drizzled with lots of olive oil. Also got the falafels, which came in a bowl of the tastiest creamiest tahini hummus. My daughter got the Turkish eggs, which she loved and polished off every bit. The coffee was really good too, and they have multiple choices of non-dairy creamers for vegans, plus many vegan food options. Highly recommend Sabine!

Great food, great room, great bartender - (the red-headed fellow) - we chanced on the place on the Monday of Memorial Day Weekend and we were initially put off by the lineup but we returned to brave it and we were glad that we did -- skip the line and sit at the bar!

Really long line despite arriving just shortly after opening. Beautiful outside patio options that are first come first serve. Salmon toast was delicious but not worth the high cost. Coffee was good and the kids were happy with the oatmeal pancakes.

Lovely food with a European interior. Food with a Mediterranean bent but also brunch until 3 pm. Full bar. Outside seating available. We would return.

A great spot for breakfast on Ballard Ave. It's one of those places where you order at the counter and then they bring it to you. The outdoor area is big and full of plants - it's at the side of the restaurant, so not right on the street. I had the oat pancakes with apple butter and cinnamon crumbs. Delicious! Very good, thick bacon. Super delicious OJ - I'm not sure what made it so good, but it was. Excellent coffee.
Great food, but just too loud in the restaurant
The croissants by the door looked perfect, which was a good sign. Indeed, the food did not disappoint. The ginger lemonade was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet, but gingery. The Shakshuka was excellent, I just with the bread would have been a little fresher. Pickles went fast, too. So why 4/5? Service seemed a little overwhelmed and some things took longer than they needed. Leaving that aside, my largest issue was the noise in the restaurant. It was almost impossible to hear anything. I will be back, but with noise canceling earbuds next time.
