This is a lovely spot in Brooklyn. We are here on a balmy summer evening right at the front of the open air restaurant. We shared two appetizers, the edemame and calamari - the fried calamari was without question the best I have ever eaten - and I am a calamari lover. Most of the main course dishes are less than $20, which makes incredibly reasonable. I had the Sage Noodles and my daughter had the Massaman curry, both of which were perfectly prepared, portioned and seasoned to the spice level requested. The service was excellent; attentive without the waiter hovering or refilling our water glass every two minutes (a pet peeve of mine in some Asian restaurants). Dinner for two with a glass of wine of wine each and at the tip was less than $ 75.00 and worth every penny. We will be back again as I have been dreaming about the Sage noodles and that amazing calamari.

Even Baby Boomers can eat in this yummy Hipster Williamsburg restaurant. There are many vegetarian entrees...we had fish, salmon, edemame, and rum. Service is fine, although it takes a few requests to get a Coke Zero. It is clean. There is a garden outside, which is fun. It is an open area with benches.

Sage was recommended by our Airbnb host so we thought we'd try it. We eat a fair amount of thai food in different countries and were keen to try our Brooklyn thai! The place was nice and quite when we arrived early evening and the service was pretty good. We ordered several dishes and they all came promptly and were pretty tasty and packed paunch chilli wise. Good portions (very shareable) and reasonably priced.

My family and I went to Sage for a weeknight dinner. They accommodated are gluten-free and vegan needs admirably while maintaining a delicious taste. My wife had the pad Thai, which I got to try and it had that classic pad Thai taste we both love. I had the pineapple fried rice which was excellent; I also recommend there dark and stormy which was strong but not too sweet. Thanks Sage it was a memorable night.

We were here on a Saturday night with a group of five. We had reservations, so we were seated quickly, right by the band. The music was pretty good, but being so close made conversation difficult. Our server took quite awhile to come take our order. The place isn't that big, but it seemed that they were ignoring us. Once we ordered, it took a VERY VERY long time before we got our food. Our server didn't check with us, or let us know why things were taking so long. No one checked to see if we needed drink refills. Once our food FINALLY came, it was very good, absolutely delicious. We waited A LONG TIME again for our bill, and then a LONG TIME YET AGAIN before they came to collect. A meal that should have been maybe an hour or 1.5 hours was almost three hours. If they could speed up their service, more people would be able to come in to enjoy their food. (And things would be more profitable.) Good food is not enough, not when there are so many great restaurants in the area.

We were in the same party as Blair F and had been trying to decide between some of the local Thais and a random stranger that overheard us on the street said 'you must go to Sage'. We took it as a very strong recommendation that someone would volunteer this opinion to us unprompted and we weren't wrong. The food was absolutely lovely and my spicy noodles were definitely spicy and it is fairly uncommon for me to find dishes that live up to the spicy tag, but this was warm! My wife had mussaman curry and thought it was the best she had ever tasted so it is hard to give a better recommendation.

Tastes just like Thailand! After coming back from a month long trip my husband and I were missing the Thai spices so glad we found Sage. We eat/order out from here at least once a week. The drunken noodles are my favorite and my husband loves the Tom yum soup and the green curry. The service is always great and the outdoor seating is wonderful. As is the indoor! You can't go wrong with this place.

Service was very friendly. The meals were nicely plated and very appetizing. 7 of us enjoyed appetizers, drinks, and entrees at about $50.00 per including tip when divided out.

Such a lovely restaurant, really enjoyed the Jazz band on the Saturday evening. Great vegetarian options, really enjoyed the mock duck green curry. Cocktails are tasty and only $10, loved the sage margarita. Great place to visit :)

Nine of us in a graduation party ate at Sage and were very happy with the experience. The server was very good (and patient with the older folks in our party who needed menu explanations), kept our drinks refreshed, and correctly directed the placement of the appetizers and dinners. My shrimp dumplings were excellent and the dipping sauce just spicy and sweet enough, and my pineapple fried rice with beef was done perfectly. No one else at the table had anything but praise for the food and service. I'll be interested to read more reviews to see where they fall on the continuum between this review and the previous one. Either we were there on an unusually good night or they were there on an unusually bad night.

Staying in Brooklyn, my girlfriend wasn’t feeling the best one night so we were recommended by reception at the hotel to try here. So I ordered on grubhub. Estimated delivery time of 50-60 minutes. That’s ok with me I thought. It arrived 30-40 minutes later than estimated. Still not a problem as long as the food is nice and hot. Here’s the issue. The chicken satay was cold. The spring rolls were luke warm, Albeit they were tasty. The chicken pad Thai... funny smell, funny taste. It was also cold. I ate a bit and couldn’t stomach it. My partner got a side portion of noodles....A cold hard flavourless mess. If this is the standard of takeout Thai food you have in this local area I feel sorry for you. I haven’t reviewed anything while in New York but I felt compelled to write this after experiencing such a disappointment.

Lovely restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. They even have live jazz certain nights of the week. Great staff! And the food is delicious!

A+ for mojitos. Good Thai food for an awesome price in Wburg. Recommendations include Hidden Tiger Thai spice marinated steak appetizer, spicy crab meat salad, tom yum soup, and anything fried rice. Also $10 brooklyn vesper martinis and mojitos.

We were there for lunch today. The staff are very nice and attentive. We felt very comfortable. We once fried rize vegetable and pasta with chicken and vegetables, and ahead another mango salad mixed with lots of greens and spicy. The portions are very large, but you can take it anyway. So highly recommended.

Fast delivery in containers that keep the food hot. There is a wide selection on the menu we had the vegetable spring rolls and vegetable dumplings as appetizers. Both were very tasty. As entrees we had a northern Basil Thai Beef, which was very spicy and delicious and a Chicken in Garlic Sauce. That too was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like really good Thai food.

Everyone in our group really liked their food. Most of us got some variety of pad thai for around $10 I think. My husband got steak with a ginger sauce, which was great too. They had carafes of mango rum punch or red/white sangria for like $7 each, which was a great deal. We each got one and didn't even finish them. The atmosphere was neat, although no one was there except our table (we ate late on a Sunday night). They opened the windows which gave it an outdoor cafe type feel. The place is swanky and trendy and would be pleasing to someone looking for a swanky Brooklyn experience.

Good food, full bar, friendly service and live jazz combo all made for an outstanding Saturday evening at Sage. We had a seven month old, in a stroller, with us and they were very accommodating. Good house wine at only $6 per glass was a real steal. The jalapeño ginger Marguerita was also a hit. Food choices pretty standard, but very tasty and well presented and there were plenty of vegan choices. We'll come here again!

I LOVE this place. The food is so tasty and the atmosphere is trendy, spacious and fun. They have outdoor seating in the summer. The Coconut Soup with Veggies is the best soup I ever had. Prices are very reasonable.

Its okay nothing great - don't order a bloody the worst I have ever had - I also think its a bit overpriced

Every time i have been to Sage i have always had an excellent meal. Every appetizer on the menu is pretty good and i have tried most of them. Several different option for stir frys with rice/noodle/vegetables make for great meals that are reasonably priced and fill you up. The atmosphere is cool and the garden is great when the weather is nice. Always an enjoyable experience at Sage.

So so good. Great service! Everyone had something different and every dish was great! Lunch is crazy affordable. Not to be missed.

liked very much, nice and very quiet, simple and very good food and fine attention. Recommended for lunch

We were going to an even in Williamsburg, so we went to Trip Advisor and found Sage. Unlike most restaurants in New York / Brooklyn the restaurant was quite large and nicely decorated. The restaurant seems to have two halves, one had only dining and the other with dining and a full bar. Another added plus, large clean bathrooms and had live music. I thought the menu had several good choices. Prices were very reasonable as were portion sizes. We ordered curry dishes which were good. They appeared to have an area to handle large groups. I would highly recommend if you want Thai food and are in the area.

The presentation was great but I didn't think that it was very special. I was even pretty drunk so I should think everything tastes great.

Very good service, ambiant and food, a little pricy, specially drinks and dessert, a little surprise a the end with the service rate not included, but it worth it really for the exceptionnal food. As french, I felt it missed a little bred to finish the exquisite sauce.

We were heading to Brooklyn Steel for a concert and came for an early dinner and a few drinks. Good service, the Happy Hour menu and pricing was a nice surprise, and the food was flavorful and interesting. A band was setting up for a later performance but it was a great place early-on for conversation and atmosphere.

We heard about Sage from a local when he overheard us looking for a Thai restaurant. We made reservations and we were seated quickly. Our server was very helpful with entree choices and the service was excellent. I ordered the red curry chicken and it was the best I've ever had. Our group's meals were all delicious and hot. The prices were reasonable for the quality food and service.

Local Thai resturant that is average at best. Hard surfaces throughout the resturant make for a noisy place to eat. There are also a few tables outside on the sidewalk where it is quieter and where you can hang with your dog. They do takeout.

One word, fresh, the food is great, the customer experience is awesome, we ordered the soup and noodles, literally revitalised my soul, great place! Also crazy good value for money!

This place is wonderful!! Great drinks from the Lycée Martini to the Spicy Ginger Margarita! Food was incredible---must try the Thai Chicken Curry Puffs---WOW! The Fresh Salmon Fried Rice was to die for----we are going back soon to try other drinks and menu items... They often have live music on the weekends as well.. Family friendly..

We hadn't planned on eating asian tonight but the atmosphere inside the restaurant was sucking us in. The portions are big but delicious. A jazzband played for us inside the restaurant so it's well worth a visit.

Whenever Babe & I can't decide what to eat - we walk a few blocks and eat here. The drinks are served just right. Vegetarian options available when I am in a post-gym mood. Noodles are always a great choice.

Easy and cheap thai food in a pleasant environment. It's also very salty but it's not meant as high end fare. Great pad see ew and chicken with thai basil.

My family grew up in the area and was sad to see the italian restaurant go but Sage is not a disappointing replacement. I love going with friends, families or date night here. I live a few blocks away and its the best decor and is a great bang for your buck.

We went for an easy dinner and we found a very nice restaurant with an outstanding atmosphere. Food was great and service very precise and polite.

Thai food is not the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Brooklyn. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. The tables were comfortable and it was not at all crowded on a Tuesday night. The windows were open allowing it to feel like we were sitting outside. Of course they do have seating outside so if you want to sit al fresco you can. The menu takes an interesting twist on traditional Thai food. We enjoyed the chocolate spareribs and the shrimp poppers for appetizers. I had the cashew stir Fry with duck and it was delicious. The various noodle dishes were also tasty as was the fried rice. Prices are reasonable, service is friendly and you will be happy you tried this restaurant. Enjoy!

This is classic american takeout Thai, but it's very high quality and delicious. As a local, I will only order from here, despite the surge of Thai restaurants in the neighborhood. I get a lot of takeout from this place, but occasionally eat in, and I always forget how pretty the food is. I love the red curry and drunken noodles. Coconut juice is super tasty too.

Located in an old building in Williamsburg Sage offers an extensive menu of Thai specialities. We were a party of four and shared three appetizers and three entrees that were more than enough food. The service was prompt and waiters were very courteous and attentive. As it was a warm night we sat in the outside deck which was very comfortable.

What we liked - it was pretty and the chocolate ribs were amazing. What we didn't like - really bad service, had to ask the server to come to the other side of the table to take my order so I didn't have to shout over our other 5 guests and she brought out chicken instead of steak. The missed an appetizer on the order, the server disappeared - never saw her after she took our order, a runner brought the food - of course he had to ask where each plate went, we never never asked if we needed drink refills, we had to ask a manager for desserts and then after waiting 20 minutes after asking for the check we had to stand at the bar and wait from them to find out how to process it . The tuna was fully cooked though we requested it seared - the chicken that was charged as a steak was so salty we couldn't eat it and the duk was half fat. Even with all the mistakes they charged us for everything (no offer a taking the desserts off the check etc) and charged 18% tip because we were 5 adults and one 3 year old. HORRIBLE SERVICE

Sage has lots of appeal both in its food and decor. It is located in an area of Williamsburg that is gentrifying and is plenty popular. Food is excellent and artistically served. Subtle, sleek decor. Would definitely recommend.

In Brooklyn for the ordination of a dear friend. A friend and I took the ordinand out to lunch. We walk to Sage. It's a Thai restaurant. It's s neighborhood restaurant, so really comfortable and casual. One can tell locals frequent this establishment. Two of us had the crab cakes Benedict. Now I know that one should try different things on a menu, but the next two times I go, I'm having the crab cakes Benedict. It was AMAZINGLY delicious. Really really really delicious. Went well with the mimosa that came with the meal. Ordinand ordered the calamari. Pleasantly surprised by this barbecue-tasting calamari. (Don't wrinkle your nose ~ the sauce was amazing and I would never put a sauce with calamari ~ but it worked!). Don't recall the name of the sauce, but it is in the appetizer section of menu. If you like calamari, order it! Three of us shared the appetizer (that's how generous the portion is). I will definitely go back. And if you are ever in Brooklyn, you should go too!

I have tried many Thai places in New York, but this is by far the best one! Their main chef cooks delicious meals that are filled with rich flavors. I recommend the cashew nut sauce dishes as well as the calamari.

Fantastic atmosphere with warm lighting and live jazz music. The servers are very attentive and the food is very good. Great local place.

I recently hosted a family dinner with 20 people at Sage. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Godfrey who was so incredibly helpful and kind. Since there were so many people I worked with him on a menu that would suit a wide range of tastes. Some had meat allergies, some were vegetarian and some were not city folk. Godfrey was very patient and helped me make a reasonable menu at an extraordinarily reasonable price for Brooklyn. The food was served by 2 of the best servers you could have. Unobtrusive, attentive, and sweet. Seriously the food was AMAZING. From dumplings, shrimp, calamari, to cashew chicken, clay pot fried race minus the pork, and pad Thai and salmon that tasted fresh out of the water, and on and on, each dish was fresh, perfectly seasoned and prepared. They were beautiful to look at and scrumptious to eat. We had so many leftovers that we had another group meal to finish them off. We have been to Buddakhan, the Holy Grail of Asian food, and this food could stand right beside theirs for a fraction of the cost. PLEASE go to Sage in Brooklyn!! Ask for Godfrey. You will thank me!!!!

I heard this is the best Thai food in the area. Hmmm... Something was missing. The umami-ness was off. I've had Thai food from mom and pop places in the LA, San Gabriel Valley in SoCal that are just better. Will try again, maybe for lunch. We came for dinner and it was packed. Maybe the kitchen was overwhelmed cuz the dishes were underwhelmed.

My family (8 including 2 young children) enjoyed sitting on the patio until it rained. Wonderful summer evening, food was good and beautifully presented. Servers went out of their way to assure we had inside seating when rain began. Ambiance was terrific inside and out. Loved the oldies music and no one minded when my 1.5 year old grand daughter and I danced for mutual entertainment!

This place made me reconsider Thai food. The decor is amazing and the food is even better. Please try the chocolate BBQ Ribs. Also the prices cannot be beat, so make Sage in Williamsburg, Brooklyn a place you want to try.

We order from Sage at least 3 times a month. In fact we love them so much they replaced our old go-to Thai spot (Cheers) where I used to frequent for the past 10 years. Sage's food is always fresh and delicious. We usually get Spicy Fried Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice, Curry Puffs (3 puffs per order), Spring Rolls (3 rolls per order), and Spinach Cheese Puffs (6 pieces per order). Their chili sauces, plum sauce, and cucumber relish are all delicious accompaniments to their appetizers. Sage always gets 5/5 stars from me.

Booked through Open Table, got right in. First, they stuff us in the back room at a bad table, but fixed the problem on their own (good management) and moved us to the front. Food was pretty good, although not exceptional Thai food.

Great Thai dishes at reasonable prices. Great selection of appetizers. Large selection of beer on draft as well as bottled beers. Great selection of glass/bottles of red and white wine at good prices. Mixed drink specials, as well as the usual fair. They also have live jazz on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00pm -11:00pm.

After a lovely visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden we ventured towards home for a lunch stop after 2PM; the lines at the Garden were way too long and slow, easily a half hour wait. I had read complimentary reviews here and decided to give Sage a go. The metered street parking is adequate for Williamstown area and the neighborhood is fine. On such a fair April afternoon we chose to sit outside cafe style. Our server was very pleasant, water with an extra carafe arrived quickly. We each took advantage of the $8 or $9 lunch special, which includes a choice of appetizer and an entree. The choices ranged from meat to fish, vegan to gluten free, spicy to mild: something for everyone. The food was very good, serving size very adequate and price a great value. The rest room was clean and the interior of the establishment attractive and appealing. I highly recommend and would return if I didn't live almost 3 hours away.

Love to come there for lunch or diner. Friendly staff and great food. Had the massaman curry, love it.

We ordered takeout from here, the chicken chill basil was really good, the tom yum soup was good but very lime flavoured though, not like the real Thai version. For the price though it was really good value.

Sage is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with good service and excellent food. We often eat here when I am in town and have never been disappointed. Their grilled or fried calamari is outstanding along with all the other apps. I am boring and always get the Sage noodles with mixed seafood as I just love this dish. On our most recent visit, my companion had the short rib special, cooked an a Penang curry with sticky rice and Brussels Sprouts - it was delicious and enough for two meals. We consider this a go to spot in Brooklyn, reasonably priced great food, the service is prompt and friendly and on Friday nights they have live music.

I live in this neighborhood and get takeout and eat in 5 x a month. Food is good 75% of time/steer clear of high end dishes. Service is average or less than average 80% of the time. Place isn't well managed. Its a quick solution nearby/lots of outdoor space. Not a reason to travel here.
Great Thai food
We ordered food from Sage and it was delivered quickly. It was hot and delicious. I had the house soup, spring rolls and a fabulous curry dish. The menu is diverse. The servings are generous (lots of food).
