Great food and a great value. Love the pork bahn mi and the curry to-go boxes. Curry chicken is great as is the tofu.

We were walking through Seattle China Town and my wife had mapped out this place based on researching good, cheap, banh mi sandwiches in Seattle. Well that research was spot on. Great value to quality ratio. There are eight options for the banh mi on the menu, ranging from $3.25 to $3.75. We were there about 10am and they were just starting to get busy. There were 100’s of loafs of bread bagged up “staged” for what would likely be a very busy Friday lunch rush of banh mi orders. Additionally, they have a counter with several types of spring rolls ready for the rush. Freshness is not a problem because of the turnover. Be aware there is no seating. You pay, get your food and head out. We walked a couple blocks to the Chinese park and sat at a table and ate. I would gladly grab a bite here if in the area.

I dream about that tofu sandwhich it is so good. There are so many great Vietnamese dishes to chose from. They are inexpensive and quick. It is all take out.

It is a somewhat ramshackle place, definitely unpretentious. Both the chicken and tofu sandwiches were very tasty. We had an assortment of their desserts. They were all good though the corn was my least favorite.

Really great Vietnamese take-out place in the Vietnamese area of the Seattle International section. Many choices to take out. Their banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) is fab! Costs $ 3.50 and they make it fresh for you. Great crunch bread on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside. Great portion of meats, pickled carrot, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeno pepper... We also ordered their steamed crepe stuffed with pork and wood ear mushroom... All fabulous. All three items cost less than $ 16!

Decided to try a new place for Banh Mi's so we stopped into Saigon Deli. First of all, the takeout food was sitting out, uncovered, all dried up. So gross! There were other pre-wrapped items that looked stale. We could see there were pre-made banh mi's sitting out, too. Ordered chicken, which was made in front of us, but the brad was stale and chewy, and the chicken was dry with no flavor. I don't think I've ever had a bad banh mi until I tried this one! Also, the lady took my order and another guy behind the counter just stared at me. I thought he wanted to know if I had already been helped so I told him I gave the lady my order. He looked at me as if I was trying to get away without paying! Of course I paid him once I understand that's what he wanted.

(over 50 visits by me) This very inexpensive place has my favorite bahn mi sandwiches. Many other bahn mi places in Seattle have (unfortunately) adopted the Famous Dave's approach of sugaring the buns and everything else, but this place actually offers some flavor contrasts in the flagship #1 bahn mi, grilled pork, with seasoned rice vinegar pickled daikon and carrot shreds, fresh cilantro, sliced jalapeño, and one or two odd vegetables I can't recall. I like it without mayonnaise and with a lumpy red hot sauce they have in a red plastic cylinder behind the counter. Try pointing to the cylinder and saying, "Number 1 with no mayo, plus some of that red sauce." There are very popular lunch specials (two or three items with lots of rice), many kinds of rice paper rolls, a great variety of desserts and other confections. The staff are friendly bilingual and efficient. They can serve me a sandwich in under 5 minutes, made to order, while assembling a many–large–bags–pickup–order for sixty sandwiches. Open daily from about 1000 until about 1900. Great Vietnamese coffee, hot or cold. Those who know this cuisine better than I do will probably like this place even more than I do, and I really like it a lot. There is no seating at all. I eat my sandwich standing up in the parking lot or in my car. The location is safe but unattractive. Take my advice and don't care. Tight but adequate parking lot.

Banh mi tasted too much fat and the pickle is too sweet. $5.50 each Egg rolls are burnt outside but the meat wasn't cooked inside.

You should try the sweet soup here and the vietnamese pork roll..they are really good! My husband really loves the black-eye bean sticky rice with coconut, the popular sweet soup in Vietnam and we usually stop by here to grasp some of sweetie dessert either .. they are really cheappppp!!

On our way back home from Portland, we stopped for lunch in Seattle. My husband’s Vietnamese friend recommended the Saigon Deli and to order the #1 Banh Mi. Since we ate lunch already and there is no seating, we took it back home along with some meatballs. Sandwich good, especially the bread and meatballs very tasty.

Without question the best banh mi in town. Most go for the #1 grilled pork. Get it toasted. Their hot food is also very good. Try the beef stew, pork belly or green beans and tofu. Spring rolls are always fresh and delicious and come in shrimp/pork, tofu or grilled chicken. They also feature a myriad of other freshly made Vietnamese delicacies in plastic wrap. Deep fried egg rolls and deep fried fish cake are available in the hot glass container. You can’t beat the prices. To summarize you can get a lot for a little.

Got 4 Bánh mì thịt nguội for 4 of us to try, $3.50 each. Eek!! Methinks not!! They're all stuff with pork fat & skin. Man, can't remember the day $1.50 each and with all authentic ingredients....

Saigon deli is a takeaway-only deli specializing in inexpensive banh mi sandwiches. They also have a wide selection of Vietnamese desserts, like Che, and also steamed pork buns. Everything is delicious.

This is the place if you're looking to get an inexpensive and delicious banh mi, or other Vietnamese dessert. Service is fast and there's no seating inside.

No frills.... Just full of authentic foods and snacks, particularly southern snacks. Best of all is VN sandwich....various choices.....ask for extra veggies, don't forget the chili. Quiet busy little place. Parking is tight at times, though they have their own parking lot. Only take-out.

Yesterday (11/17), I bought a box of sweet rice with Chinese sausage for lunch. But when I opened it, I noticed that it already smelled bad, as if it was a left over from the day before. This issue should be reported to the health department; and I intend to do so. Also, on the side note, I noticed that there is no itemized receipt from the cashier. She always does the total "in her head", and nobody challenges the total. It is so easy for her to make "honest mistakes", of course in her favor. Frankly, I don't trust this shop... In summary, I do not recommend this shop. it deserved a minus 5 stars ( -5* ).

Excellent Bahn Mi at Saigon Deli. Tried about 5 different kinds, all were good. I still like the pork the best.
This place got me through college
I used to go to this place 3-4 times a week when I was going to UW. The serving staff are ultra nice and the food is great. Very reasonably priced. Unlike many restaurants in the u-district their food is fairly healthy with fresh vegetables and the option of brown or black rice. I miss going in for a quick banh mi. Just a great place.
