Quaint surrounding, just dark enough lighting, piano player in the background. Started with a delicious crab cake, the server chose a nice Chablis. lobster bisque was ok. My lamb chops were great and my wife had the the lobster thermadore which she enjoyed. each paired with a good wine. finished with creme-brulee'. i normally think of french restaurants as small servings. not the case here. large servings, delicious food and great service.

From the outside St Martin’s isn’t at all imposing, and if one was unfamiliar with its reputation, it would be easy to pass it by. The front room of the restaurant with the bar along one wall is most reminiscent of a French bistro, while the back room with its table arrangement and more elegant decor has more of a supper club feel. Everyone in our party had the champagne brie soup as a starter, and it is truly exception. The menu contains some classic French dishes that are not only expertly prepared but served in generous portions. The wine list reflects quality and is priced accordingly. We had two bottles of Acacia, Carneros, Pinot Noir, that was excellent. The service was attentive, but not rushed. St. Martin’s is dinner for a special occasion, not just a meal, and a rare treat.

The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance. Service was very attentive. We ordered the Pate board for an appetizer which was really tasty. We both had a chef's special, although there were numerous items on the menu that were very tempting so it was hard to choose. He had the duck in apricot sauce, I had the beef bourguignon which was really, really good. The gentleman pianist is quite talented, and kept us entertained all evening. Moscow Muel from the bar was perfect, and we enjoyed a nice glass of cabernet which beautiful complimented our meal. Great place to celebrate a birthday, date night, or really any occasion. We'll be back to try lunch or brunch soon!

Last night we had three different entrees. My daughter’s swordfish had a sauce that combined with the tender meat of the entree to create a dish that was the best I have ever tasted anywhere, definitely world class. The Le Blanc de Poulet breast of chicken topped with asparagus and mushrooms my wife had was mouth watering and unique, worthy of royalty. My Chilean Sea Bass also had a delicious sauce with it that made it the best sea bass I have ever had anywhere, and sea bass is my favorite entree!! We had La Pate Fait Maison, Le Foie Gras, and Escargot, and all three appetizers were delicious and perfectly presented- worthy of best of class. The after dinner chocolate and Gran Mariner Soufflés were light and tasty, prepared perfectly. From drinks to appetizers to the finale soufflés, James, our server was world class too, very attentive, delightfully entertaining, humorous, and a joy to have serve us. The background live piano music that accompanied our two hour dinner was very pleasant, but not loud enough to cancel out any of our conversation. The decor was pleasant, and when combined with the light background piano music, fine food and fine service we had such a terrific fine dining experience that all three of us agreed that is was the absolutely best fine dining experience that we have had in years, and we all vowed to return often.

It was a hopping little place. Great service. Wonderful manhattans. I wished the portions had been a little smaller. They were almost hanging off the plates. I will definitely return.

St. Martin's has become our go to place for celebrations. We go at least twice a year, as we are on a budget and it's a bit far of a drive for us, but always well worth it. The staff always takes care of us, whether its a romantic dinner for 2 or our most recent visit last weekend where we had a party of 7, 3 of which were toddlers. Low lighting and rich decor match the deep, rich flavors you'll experience. I highly recommend the champagne brie soup (a staple) as well as the steamed mussels with red pepper and garlic. While the entrees are usually good, the real stars are the appetizers and desserts. The chocolate terrine is decadent and delicious, the apple tart warm and topped with tons of caramel. I also recommended extremely busy weekends, like holidays, as the service occasionally takes a hit and the prie fix prices tend to go up. We've been coming for 5 years and will definitely continue for many more.

If you're seeking an intimate dining experience, St. Martin's is worth a visit. My wife and I enjoy dining here when we want a relaxing dining experience. Live piano music plays in the background and the staff is friendly and attentive. The food is good and the "must try" dish is the brie and champagne soup. Pros: - Friendly, inviting, and relaxing - Food is good but not 5 star... except for the brie soup Cons: - Limited parking. Be sure to use valet on corner next to San Francisco Rose

Have been coming here for 20+ years (its 38 years old). Whether an evening dinner or a weekend brunch, we always enjoy it. We've had just two of us to 15 of us; we've sat in the wonderful alcove at the back or the front window table; there's plenty of personality and charm throughout the place. Add the piano music and its a great oasis.

We've been there twice. First time in 2013 for our wedding anniversary, the waiter was very professional, food was excellent, live music was great, we had a pleasant experience. Therefore, we came back for 2014 anniversary. Even though the food was still good, the young waiter was inexperienced and unprofessional. We left the place as hmmm... it was better last year. Then a few days later when we checked our credit card statement, we found the waiter added the amount of the tip. Huge disappointment. I hope he is gone by now and they train new waiters better. We will go to a different place in 2015. Champagne Brie soup got the stars.

Jazz pianist, Chateaubriand, what else do you need? Maybe dessert...great service, classic fare. No crazy gastronomy fads. I felt taken care of as a solo diner and very comfortable. Very nice elderberry champagne sparkler to start. Homemade raspberry sorbet to finish.

Went here for Christmas dinner which was a fixed menu not their typical menu. Chose St. Martin's because they had some traditional Christmas dinner options. With exception to dessert, the food was very good and clearly made from fresh ingredients. The roast turkey was probably the best I've had at a restaurant and the champagne brie soup was outstanding. The dessert was good, but nothing special. My only disappointment was the atmosphere. The restaurant was old and dingy and needs a remodel. I will go back to try their regular menu, but won't be in my tier 1 restaurant rotation.

The service, the food, the live piano player all make this a fantastic spot for brunch. Their prices are reasonable. Honestly, our favorite part was enjoying a glass of champagne and listening to the piano. You can't go wrong with the trout at brunch.

I have been here several times and have always found it to to be excellent in presentation, quality of execution and service. You feel like you are in a restaurant on Boulevard Saint-Germain. The wine list is pretty good and will pair well with any food combination you like. I am partial to French and Italian wines and there are enough choices in those categories to satisfy most. california and other

Probably one of the best French Restaurant in Dallas ... Best Steak Tartare I had in a long time . Great service , Price is fair especially with the wine . As a true French women I give it my thumbs up .... ( only funny thing to me is the translation of the French Menu ... need to be corrected but hell who cares the food is excellent )

Went with another couple to celebrate and anniversary. Appetizers were fantastic, superior escargot, Brie Champagne soup wa exceptional and onion soup was superb as always. Wife had Lobster Thermidor, enough for two and the best I have ever had. Everything was first rate. Steak Diane was tender and cooked to perfection. Chilean Sea Bass was amazing as was the pork tenderloin. The wine list was a little confusing and I probably picked out a selection that was not the best but that's my fault. Can not recommend this restaurant enough for a romantic dinner. They had a piano player but I think its only on weekend nights, not sure. A little expensive, with tip for four it came to 350$ thats with 2 bottles of wine. For a special occasion more than worth it. If I went more often we would split the meal and it would of saved a lot. Portions are more than enough for two.

First time for their Sunday brunch, will definitely go back! The champagne brie soup is delicious. Saw several other selections want to try.

Recently visited St. Martin's after living out of town for several years. St. Martin's is romantic and timeless. The service and food is beyond excellent and hasn't changed at all! Everything was fresh and delicious! A true classic and one of my very favorite restaurants in Dallas.

We enjoy restaurant week each year and try to pick a new place to visit. This year we made the drive to Saint Martin's... and we are SO glad we did. The service was outstanding! The white table cloth, candles, and low lighting set the tone for a romantic dinner. To start i had the seafood crepes and my bride had the salad, both were excellent but i liked my crepes the best. The main course : My wife had the duck and i tried the beef bourguignon, again, both were prepared just right and had a ton of texture and flavor. Dessert was white chocolate cheesecake and cCreme brulee, which finished off the meal perfectly. I also want to note that the wine menu has a number of affordable bottles, we had the Sterling cab which paired well with our meal. Go try this place, it was great.

We visited this restaurant a couple years prior and stopped in Dallas again just to eat here. We were not disappointed. There is a wonderful wine list and we shared a bottle. I had the La Pate de Maison and my husband had L'Escargots St. Martin's. Both were fabulous. For an entree I had the De Veau Francaise and he had a Chilean Sea Bass special. Again we were not disappointed. The apple tart at the end of the meal topped off a wonderful experience. This is a small neighborhood restaurant that has white cloth tablecloths and very personal service. Our server was very attentive and friendly without being annoying.

The meal (Sea bass with asparagus and risotto) was delicious. Served promptly, hot and prepared perfectly. We had for desert, their delicious Souflee -- I'd recommend without hesitation! The atmosphere was conducive to a personal conversation. The service was prompt and attentive -- not smothering! I recommend this restraint if you wish a place that doesn't overpower your purpose of getting together -- enjoying your invited company with a delicious uncompromising meal!

Elegant setting, great food, excellent service. Prompt, yes, fast, no. Charming, old ambiance. Wide selection of food, wine, and bar. Excellent preparation and presentation. This a 'goto' place for a quiet, relaxed evening. (circa 2019) *************** We have been there each year since, In September 2022 we celebrated our anniversary with family. It is no better, no worse. Just great in a calm, pleasant, solid sort of way.

We visited St Martins for a pre Christmas celebration. There were 8 of us and everyone really loved their meal. The Champagne Brie soup is especially good. The space is warm and inviting. We all had a great time.

I visited with a friend during Restaurant Week. Love the ambience and décor - feels like being in a European city to me. Enjoy their special cocktails before dinner! The soup was delish down to the last slurp. My intention was to enjoy the duck and I wasn't disappointed. Finished with the terrine....tasted soooo rich. Excellent wait staff - my only 'nit' is the music is too loud....doesn't seem to be a place with a table to be able to hear a conversation while the pianist is tickling the ivories. Won't stop me from going again however. Perhaps, I'll choose to go on their night off!

Saint Martins is a Dallas classic for elegant dining. We have been regulars for a couple of decades and were so disappointed tonight that tons of others weren’t sharing in the amazing experience. Live music, Brie Bisque and Lobster Thermidor... does it get better? No. It doesn’t.

Time is truly on St.Martin’s side. Great classic French recipes, experienced service, and old-world romance. I loved this place.

If I was going to propose again, assuming I remembered how, I would do it here. Dining here was a wonderful experience. When we walked through the door I suddenly was not sure I was in Dallas or in the "old town" of Geneve. Saint Martin's captures the atmosphere of old school fine dining and old world charm -- without pretension. It has a wonderfully cozy atmosphere. The service and geniality of the staff was as if we were long time patrons. The food was excellent. We had salmon and veal and both were good choices. The wine selection was excellent and they had a lot of choices reasonably priced. The location is off what I would call the Dallas "beaten path". I highly recommend it and we will be returning whenever attending a function in downtown Dallas. By the way, if you are planning to propose there, I suggest the 4-top in the alcove at the back of the dining room at the end of the bar. It's where we sat, holding hands and remembering the decades of trips to similar restaurant finds from New York to Prague and the long and winding adventure marriage is. That kind of evening had to end with one of Saint Martin's souffles. I recommend the chocolate.

Two couples, 40-ish and 70-ish, had a marvelous dinner at this Dallas institution. It truly is a romantic place, with its subdued lighting and genteel service. Allow your server to guide you, and leave your diet plan at the door!

I went there with my date but had heard him talk about this restaurant for years. Piano music set a romantic atmosphere. I had the Eggs Benedict with crab cakes which was very rich. Think it would have been better with just crab meat which I loved in New Orleans. I felt there was almost too much food for me. The service was outstanding. I would love to go there for supper and the chocolate silk pie!!

A very quaint and cozy gem that you would miss if you weren’t looking for it as your drove by. The service was top notch. Our waiter was very thorough and thoughtful. The food was excellent as well. We had the sol, lobster bisque, and crab cake. Highly recommend for a date night.

This little place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's ALL French on the inside! Live piano, fantastic food and beverage choices. Free valet too so you don't have to find your own parking spot on this very busy street.

Party of four, after a wedding on a Saturday night. Romantic, quiet, with a fabulous pianist. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. French cuisine prepared perfectly. Nice wine list. Would absolutely go back and will recommend to friends. Too bad we live almost 1000 miles away. I would be a regular.

Server was horrible. It looks as if what was once a great restaurant has gone away. What has happened to great servers. This one just brought us food, forgot our drinks, forgot our check, forgot dessert. He made our night misserable

I went there solo but thought the place would be nice for a romantic dinner. It had an old world atmosphere and a pianist playing classical music. I tried their foie gras and Chilean sea bass. The taste was a bit too heavy/complicated for my liking. I did enjoy the live music. Parking in front of restaurant was limited.

This was my first time here and I quite enjoyed it. We were celebrating my brother's 50th birthday for brunch and we had a quiet room to ourselves and our party of about fifteen. The food was excellent and the server knowledgeable and helpful. We had a predetermined brunch menu that was nicely printed for our respective party. They were also very family-friendly and assisted me with my requests since I have two very young children. The only reason I have not visited again is because I don't live in the area. I would like to

We went here for Sunday brunch. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for years and we finally got our act together. They have a price fixe brunch ($16.95) that is a great deal. You get a starter, a drink (including champagne or Bloody Mary), and an entree. Plus, they start you off with fresh, warm bread and butter. I usually am not a bread and butter fan but this sourdough bread was excellent. I ordered a Bloody Mary, it was not bad at all. I also ordered a Caesar salad and it was very good. The dressing had distinctive anchovy and garlic, but not too much. The salad was not overdressed. The quality of the Romaine was good. My entree was the salmon topped with crab, served over risotto. The fish was cooked expertly and the risotto was pure perfection. My meal was outstanding and I left way too full for a Sunday morning. The wife's meal perhaps was even better. She started with the brie soup and there are hardly words to describe how tasty it was. Very rich, silky, and smooth, the flavors were a perfectly blended. She got the seafood crepes and loved them as well. Big chunks of real seafood with a delicious sauce. Decadent! Her glass of champagne was good quality and not cheap stuff. The restaurant's ambience is extremely attractive and warm. It is definitely upscale but not pretentious. Our service was professional and efficient. I cannot think of one thing that was not outstanding. I was very impressed and I would like to return to try their dinner menu at some point.

As always, the food was magnificent. Lobster Bisque, Steak Diane and Bread Pudding. Service was faultless. These items were on the Christmas menu. The Piano was too loud for my taste, even though we sat way in the back. It was bearable as long as the player did not start singing, really terrible voice. Nevertheless, we love this restaurant for the food and ambiance, that's why we have dined there for over 35 years.

We have been to St Martin's several times and it has always been such an all around excellent dining experience. The atmosphere is unbeatable - cozy, timeless yet chic. we love the live piano! The waiting staff is attentive (without being overbearing), friendly and helpful. And the food? Superb! This last trip we had the fruits de mer, the filet and lobster special, the steak au poivre, and the salmon. The steak could be cut with a butter knife, and the sauce on top - delicious! We always order with our food the dessert souffle - such a delicious and light dessert (you can eat it even after a big dinner - as opposed to some other desserts at other places, like lava cake or cheesecake.) This time we shared both a Grand Marnier souffle and a chocolate souffle. And their french wine selection is excellent, and not exorbitantly expensive. Overall, an excellent dining experience.

We showed up for a Saturday evening with six foodies. We were not disappointed. I ordered a bottle of the Sancerre (at a very reasonable price) right away. Everyone was pleased with the crisp but not overpowering citrus notes. With the several beef orders we also enjoyed the William Hill Cabernet Sauvignon (from Napa, again at a very reasonable price). The appetizers were all delights, from the mussels to the beet and pear salad to the soups. For mains, three of our party ordered the Steak Diane which was a great interpretation of a classic dish. Another ordered the Steak Tartare as an entree; it was the best version I had tasted in years. Yet another had the duck and was very pleased with her choice. Finally, I had the Beef Bourguignon. The beef was not braised -- as is typically the case -- and so was not fork tender. It was, however, quite delicious and was smothered in the classic Bourguignon sauce. We concluded the meal with several desserts to share, most memorably the Chocolate and Grand Marnier Souffles. The service was attentive and, if anything, just a tad bit rushed. We left in just under two hours, very pleased with the evening's outing. It was a great meal for a very reasonable price.

My wife and I entertained two friends at the restaurant this week. We have been looking for interesting places to take visitors and found this one which had very good reviews. Our expectations were met and even exceeded. The service was excellent, the wine list extensive and the menu full of interesting items. The specials were very nice and we all had something from the special menu. The piano music was wonderful and didn't interfer with our conversations. I would give Saint Martin's a 4.5 if I could.

Saint Martin's is small, quiet and very intimate. The dark wood bar and walls, cozy booths and tables make it perfect for a night with a very good friend. Service is professional and unobtrusive, food is beautifully prepared and presented, and the price reasonable.

Decided to try out this Dallas staple for our anniversary. The champagne brie and escargot are must haves. This restaurant is romantic, quaint, and quiet. Great wine list and decent service. The soufflé was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant and plan to return.

We have eaten there twice in the last 3 months. The piano player is a big plus and very talented so we went back for a second visit. On the first visit we ordered lamb chops. They were thin, maybe one half inch with a gravey type sauce. For an appetizer we ordered the pate- it was excellent with nice condiments. The second visit , my husbands birthday, we ordered the same appetizer and duck breast as an entree which was tough and tasteless. For his birthday he received an oral birthday wish. We ordered 2 expensive bottles of French wine. We were charged for 3. When we pointed this out to the server, it was corrected.

Recently discovered St. Martin's Wine Bistro in Dallas. Had a delightful evening with friends and enjoyed some of the best food I have found in Big D. St. Martin's maintains that classic feel of fine dining from an era long gone. We found the staff to be absolutely wonderful and so accommodating. The food was perfection and so beautifully presented. Let me not forget the vast wine list and delicious cocktails (best Old Fashion I have ever had). If you live in Dallas or plan a visit to our great city, St. Martin's Wine Bistro is a must.

They did a great job of remodeling their new space, retaining the dark wood and romantic vibe, including live piano. When we were there, the noise level was moderate (75 dB on Soundprint), but fine for talking. We sat in a booth in the back. My lamb chops were excellent. My husband's filet of sole was a little overdone. The service was excellent. We'll be back. The location is very convenient to the theater district.

My husband and I have loved this place for years. We are never going back because of our second very very difficult experience with the manager. This time he made a mistake with the reservation and claims that we did not have the table reserved. He lectures and argues about his own mistakes. so go at your own risk.

Recently met some good friends for dinner. This is always a great place for special occasions--food, service, atmosphere. The Champagne Brie Soup is the best and my Veal Piccata was excellent. Loved the Gran Marnier Soufflé. Our server was professional, friendly and attentive. St. Martin's never disappoints.

Absolute magic! Skip the trip to France and go here. The elegance and savoir-faire of the service and the food impressively capture the essence of a romantic European evening. Low lighting, wine-themed decorations, and live music contribute to the romance. The pianist was marvelously passionate. The service was sophisticated yet friendly - very attentive. To start, the Paul Chevalier Brut Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine from Bordeaux was gorgeous - very surprised to find how affordable the bottle's market price is (less than the price of a glass here). Ask about the house-made paté! The brie soup was a cheesy (very rich) dream. I had my first escargot here & was enchanted especially by the mushroom garlic cream sauce. The snails were well-farmed - no dreaded sandy crunch. The superstar main - not on the set menu - was the seafood medley. Scallops, crab, shrimp, and lobster morsels hid in a creamy tomato béchamel that could probably convert anyone into a seafood lover. The Boeuf Bourgignon and le Bifteck Diane were impressively and deliciously executed traditional beef dishes. Le Bifteck Diane won the Meat category, and the Boeuf Bourgignon, the Sauce category. Phenomenal garlic potato purée! From the set menu, however, the overall winner may be the Sole. The fish was perfectly cooked in a creamy lemon garlic sauce. The desserts were delicious - most of all the cheesecake. The chocolate terrine was unapologetically intense. The crème brulée was classic. It did better with the strawberries stolen from the cheesecake. The wine pairings were well justified. From the white selection, the chardonnay was stout and buttery, the sauvignon blanc fruity and spirited, and pinot gris thin and airy. Tip for maximum enjoyment: Take a walk between the main course and dessert. The food is true to French cuisine in its butter-prizing composition, so you will enjoy dessert more by giving it a bit of time. Saint Martin’s is on a lovely neighborhood block, perfect for an evening stroll. I went here two nights in a row, giving Saint Martin's my entire Dallas weekend with no regrets. This is not just a dinner, it is a sensory spectacle. Do not miss it!

Delicious food, great drinks, excellent ambiance & decor! All around, Saint Martin's was a fantastic experience. This was my first time there and I would not have been more pleased. The bar tender actually came to the table to describe her unique preparation of a Manhattan. She took the time to discuss the ingredients then wanted to make sure that it was too our liking. She also made sure that we enjoyed our wine choice after making her recommendation. Mussels were plump and in the most delicious broth. The portion of Mussels could easily have been an entree. A Cesar Salad was crisp and satisfying. My guest had the Salmon and enjoyed every bite. I had the Coquilles St.-Jacques, which was unbelievable with 4 very large scallops, asparagus and quinoa. We will definitely go back for more of this great food. Between the food and the ambiance, we felt like we were back in France.

We were there on Christmas Day while visiting our daughter and was very impressed! The safe was so friendly and helpful! The food was excellent and would love to come back my next trip to Dallas!

The lighting here is rather too dark for a business dinner, but luckily we knew each other well so it wasn’t an issue... A French style menu with a good selection of wines from California, Bordeaux and a small selection from Burgundy. The food is French, but cooked by a very competent Mexican team in the kitchen. Everything on the menu was very good indeed but the non-French Pecan pie was unimpressive.

I didn’t feel the food was super excellent but the flavors in our entree were decent and the service (DeeDee) was outstanding. There is a small alcove that seats four. My friend and I were seated in there and it’s a very romantic setting. The ambience is old world French wonderful ! The bread and butter good, not great . The filet beef tips over garlic mashed potatoes were good, and the veggies decent as well. Tender meat , a sprig of rosemary , nice touches overall. Would definitely go back! Prices so reasonable, entrees big enough to split for two. There’s a $5 split plate charge , which I never approve of, as we tip well. The Grand Marnier soufflé was not good. Very soggy. Wouldn’t recommend ...but looked lovely .

I was taken to Saint Martin's Wine Bistro to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere is very charming, the food was delectable and the service was top notch. I could not have asked for anything more.

Never Disappoints! Great good and service. Have to get the Caesar salad every time. Be sure to order a Soufflé for dessert.

Nice pseudo-French restaurant on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, much further from our Sheraton Dallas hotel than what we expected, but still within the realm of Uber transport. We chose it to offer fine dining options for one of our vegetarian colleagues, and even though there was no pure vegan or vegetarian dish on the menu, the restaurant committed to having the chef prepare one upon request. (This is a lot better than the other restaurants we tried in Dallas where the only options were asparagus and mushroom sides!) I probably should have been more prepared for the St. Martins experience given their purported differentiation as the most romantic French restaurant in Dallas. First, how many French restaurants could actually be in the city, and how many French restaurants are typically unromantic? Few and fewer still, so “excelling" at this ultra-niche risks crossing the line. This was the case in my estimation for St. Martins when we went there last week. I found the atmosphere somewhat forced, with lighting that didn’t need to be so dim, and piano accompaniment by a tall (possibly blind) gentleman dressed in a white suit that sounded too schmaltzy. Sadly, nobody or nothing beyond the menu appeared genuinely French, although the man who took my phone reservation did have a French accent. Other than that, not so much. Indeed, the only thing remotely French about the piano bar entertainment were the Andrew Lloyd Weber favorites of musical theater productions (e.g. Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast) that happen to be based in France! This being said, the food and service were excellent. I had the Brie and Champagne soup, and it was unique and extremely tasty. My neighbor had the lobster bisque and also loved it. I also had a very good Caesar salad with fresh anchovies and a terrific rack of lamb cooked medium as requested. Our waiter was very swift, with an aura of professionalism and efficiency that is consistent with upper end dining. Prices were reasonable given the quality of food. Seating was well designed, with private booths surrounding us but certainly not too close for comfort. In sum, I think I would have liked St. Martins more if it had either added some genuine French stimuli to the environment and/or lightened up on the pseudo-French feel. Its promotion of “romantic” French seems diametrically opposed to being of European sophistication. Go for the latter and let word of mouth from reviewers like Cherry Wonderdog carry the message about whether the environment is right for an intimate tête-a-tête.

This is as close to being in France that you wille ever get in Texas. Menu has several French cuisine classics. Appitizers include escargots, tartare and mussels. All delicious. The main courses (which the Americans strangely call entrées) include boeuf bourgignon which was excellent! Excellent wine list. The mousse au chocolat was awesome. Decor... very French! Were there with the family, including two grand children (5 and 7). Everybody enjoyed it, even the kids!

We returned to St. Martin after a couple of years away and found it to be as charming as ever. Ask for a booth - these are the best seats in the house. but even in the bistro area, the seating is designed to give you privacy (unlike standard bistro seating). The pianist is relatively unobtrusive and very talented, the wait staff seasoned and professional and the food fantastic. Add to that a variety of specials each night, good wine list and romantic setting and you've got the recipe for a great night out. Starter was the pate de maison, which was sized for 2 but priced for one and delicious. Then a beet, apple and mixed green salad with a very subtle vinagrette and sprinkling of blue cheese (delicious as well). Their bread, I should mention, is crisp and tastes like a fresh baguette in Paris! My peppercorn encrusted tenderloin and my wife's chateaubriand were both cooked to order (1 level above the 'chop house' standard, but we usually order one level less cooked anywhere we go to be safe - meaning my rare was really medium rare) and quite delicious. Finally we wrapped up with their souffle - the grand marnier was to die for. Give them a try and revel in actually being able to speak to your date quietly - no shouting over the din!

Wow!!! A little gem hidden on Greenville Ave. I had heard "old school" so we never went. Tried it with some friends the other night. If by old school you mean legit French food, fairly priced wine menu, attentive staff, cozy dining room and non-intrusive piano bar, count me in!!!! A truly delightful continental dining experience.

This is the best French food we’ve had outside of Montreal! We’re definitely planning to visit again. Charles’ service was also top-notch! I highly recommend everything we had. Escargot & CHAMPAGNE-BRIE SOUP for starters. Main dishes were HALIBUT À LA MEUNIERE & SEARED SEA SCALLOP.

The restaurant is boutique. It's north to the downtown and I think I drove for about 20 minutes there. The live music is just amazing, making the atmosphere even better. The foie gras is my recommendation.

A wonderful place to have a couple glasses of wine and enjoy the musical atmosphere. Nice relaxing place in a great neighborhood.

One of the finest meals..we have had... We have eaten here for years... always a beautiful experience...Last Evening was magical....Perfection at it's finest...with the Old Style Romance..that is longed for in this day and time.... We had Chilean Sea Bass.. and Salmon and the best Mussels you will ever have..... Enjoy the Walk Back in Time...

Is a magnificent old French restaurant. All classic plates. Excellent scargots, pate. The best : the champagne Brie soup. Immaculate service, elegant but Cousy ambience.

Romantic setting, well trained and cordial staff, and a welcoming manager. Excellent menu with tasty specials and a solid regular list of standards. The filet with a peppercorn sauce and sea bass with a lobster/asparagus sauce were prepared to order and served with an excellent selection of sides presented in an enticing manner. The French onion soup was tasty but would have been even better if Gruyere cheese had topped in off rather than Swiss. Exceptional wine list.

Beautiful location in a wonderful location. The people who work there are fantastic and it is such a romantic and beautiful experience. The wine was phenomenal. I had the duck and my girlfriend had lobster. Both were perfectly cooked and tasted absolutely wonderful. One of the best experiences we’ve had in our relationship and one we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Can’t recommend this wonderful restaurant enough. If you’re in Dallas, please come here and do your taste buds a favor. JD was our waiter and was so incredibly professional and we were taken care of completely. We will be coming here in the future year after year from here on out.

St. Martin's is one of those places you could zip right by on Greenville Ave and never know it's there. From the street it's pretty non-descript. Step inside and you feel like you were transported to another place and time. A pianist played old standards. Loud enough to hear, but not intrusive. A little on the dark side and a little cramped in the main room. Tables will seat 4, but would be great if they were 6 inches longer. Definitely in the "romantic" category. Our server DeeDee was great. She knew the menu and pointed us in the right direction. We started with an order of steamed mussels, which could have been the best I've had in Dallas. We kept getting more bread, because we did not want the broth to go to waste. Oh, and that bread? Fabulous. Entrees at our table were the Tournedos Rossini (black truffle and foie gras topped), the Chilean Sea Bass and the Steak Diane. Served with perfect whipped potatoes and fresh vegetables. Not a complaint at the table. The wine list is deep for a restaurant this size and very reasonably priced. We were pleased. We did not save room for dessert, nor did we order it. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and they knew it, but nothing was offered. That was a little unusual. But all in all, a great meal and we never felt rushed. We could have lingered for another hour and it seems it would have been fine. I would highly recommend you give them a try. Prices reasonable for the quality of the food.

With 40+ years in Dallas, St. Martin’s knows its customer and does not disappoint. A lovely European style restaurant with a bar and a pianist, and a menu that offers a convenient prix fix menu (a word of caution to those with a sweet tooth: this menu option does not include dessert!) or an a la carte choice. Crab cakes with poached eggs are great, and Grand Marnier French toast is a winner as well.

For some reason we have not been to St. Martin’s for years. I can say that thankfully nothing has changed. It is the same cozy, intimate dining area. Great background piano. Brie soup is a winner, as are trout and sole we enjoyed. Brunch beverages were reasonable. We plan to go back for a romantic dinner. Parking in this neighborhood is tight, but valet is always available.

We were invited to a 50th surprise party here and what a treat! We had a few appetizers and drinks and then a delicious meal. I had the lamb chops and my husband the tenderloin. The fish choice was also well-liked and beautifully presented. There was a fireplace in the room and a guitar player (that was hired for the event). There were 4 or 5 round tables and the waiters maneuvered very well in the tighter spaces. Check out the photos included.

For not being with family and flying solo I have to admit the food service and staff were beyond excellent. For regular dining I still feel St. Martins can't be beat and is a great first date (for you new folks) location though don't expect it to be inexpensive. The food, service pretty much everything has always been top notch. I've been more than several dozen times at the low end and never disappointed. Cheers!

The choice of French-inspired dishes was excellent and our dishes were well prepared and presented. The chef easily accommodated my gluten and dairy allergies, which is problematic for many restaurants. We will be going back.

The quiet and intimate interior of St Martin's is a fine setting for an excellent meal. We chose to sit away from the live music (piano) near the entrance and towards the back of the restaurant, which was perfect. From entry to exit the experience was as good as it gets. We were offered a choice of tables (hence the option for the quieter table), the waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about all menu items and offered much appreciated suggestions and information. The wine list offers plenty of domestic and French selections, with a few Italian wines as well and covers a range of prices. You might want to browse the wine list online prior to visiting the restaurant to do a bit of research; the online list is fairly up to date. As for the food, it is a solid 5 star dining experience. Generous portions are one thing, but the flavor, presentation, and pairings on the plate were superb. Appetizers were escargot and champagne brie soup...incredibly tasty but not for those on a diet! Next we chose the roasted half duckling with apricots and beef medallions Rossini....delicious. The generous "medallions" were perfectly medium rare, the duckling outstandingly flavorful with apricots and black currants. We passed on dessert. This restaurant is among the top dining experiences in Dallas! It is located in a quiet setting on S. Greenville Ave. and offers valet parking...essential in this neighborhood. Book it for a very special dinner.

Based upon TA reviews, I went for dinner and had a thoroughly enjoyable and fulfilling (and filling!) experience. The place was packed but one space remained at the bar, lucky for me. I was served a generous pour of my requested cocktail, very quick service by two bar servers. My eyes caught the notice that Boeuf Bourguignon was a special for this evening, and I immediately ordered it along with a starter Caesar Salad. The salad was delivered within 3 minutes, perfectly dressed and cold as it should be. It was enough to share between 2. The Boeuf Bourguignon followed, a very attractive presentation, piping hot and absolutely delicious! I haven't had this dish so wonderfully prepared for a reasonable price since my last trip to Paris. Very filling, rich and oh so tasty. I had no room for dessert, possibly because I also enjoyed lathering the hot bread with leftover sauce from my main entree. The wine list is really extensive and looks fairly priced. Loved the piano playing in the background -- really a wonderful addition to the atmosphere of what is otherwise a very romantic space. And of course, very well managed in all respects. Can't wait to come back with my spouse.

Went with friends as our pick for restaurant week. We really liked our waiter and everyone there was so friendly and aimed to please. It is a cozy place and reminds me of a bar where Sinatra used to hang out in Hoboken, NJ. It was not crowded when we arrived, but soon got that way in a hurry. We were tucked away in a corner so the noise was not too bad. I had the Champagne Brie Soup, as did everyone else. This was my favorite part of the meal. I could have had a big bowl of that with some french bread and been happy. I did get the Le Biftec Diane, beef tenderloins in a mushroom and wine demi-glaze. It came with a bundle of green beans, carrots and asparagus and lovely garlic mashed potatoes. Two of us had this and my other friend had the Boeuf Bourgignon, which she said she loved. All was good. For dessert we had the St. Martin's Creme Brulee and the Chocolate Terrine, which was way too rich for me. We did the wine pairings as well, which was one white, one red and ended with champagne. I would skip this if I did it again. It was just too much. I would like to come back and try their brunch.

The "most romantic restaurant in Dallas" certainly lived up to its billing. Low light, ambience, superb/knowledgeable wait staff, fabulous and tasty food, beautifully presented. A live pianist who played beautifully through our experience. A "not to miss" experience.

They made our anniversary so special! Not only was the staff awesome, the food was delicious. We had escargot, salmon, beef, and chocolate mousse to finish. Thank you for going the extra mile for us. We will return!

I have been going to Saint Martin's for over 20 years and always enjoy my meals. The atmosphere is intimate, the service excellent and the food is always exceptional, especially their signature Champagne Brie soup. Make sure at least one of your party gets it so you can all try it if you can pry it from their hands once they get a taste. :)

Lovely evening in retro restaurant with good food, friendly ambiance and non-obtrusive wait staff. Steak & frites very good, sole excellent & lamb a nice treat well presented. Caesar salads nice with authentic not bottled dressing (one can tell) and dessert-cream brûlée perfect crust with desired inner consistency. The wine list was really so fantastic!!! Super prices on quality Bordeaux and many other options. If you are a wine lover-you must go! We will be back!

We had attempted to dine at St. Martin's in the past, but were unable. When the opportunity arose we took it, and are glad we did. Note: parking is limited, so it's either valet or park in the adjacent neighborhood. There is a decent wine list at St. Martin's, and it pairs well with the menu items. Excellent veal scallopini, imaginative diver scallops. The great portion control meant there was room for dessert, chocolate silk pie, and while it seems cliche, it was truly decadent. St Martin's was worth the wait.

One of the best restaurants in Dallas. The food is excellent the service is friendly and professional. The pianist adds to the ambiance. I will be back here again.

I went here Sunday the 25th for my 34 year wedding anniversary. We were with my daughter and her husband - the food the service the atmosphere, everything was over the top. I will be back and soon.

My wife and I ate here for our anniversary. It was much more than I anticipated it would be. Fine French cuisine, and a feeling of a five star restaurant packed into a what would appear from the outside to be nothing more than a hole in the wall dive. The prices are high, but atmosphere and the food is well worth it the price tag if you can either afford a fine dinning experience or need a place for a special/elegant occasion. They only have valet parking, so make sure to bring a tip for the valet.

We are not close to Greenville Ave, Colleyville actually, and we sometimes forget about Saint Martin's. Note to self, do not forget Saint Martin's. We always are impressed and last week was no exception. Great food, great atmosphere and outstanding service. It has been months since we last went. They make you feel like it is a neighborhood bistro and you come in every week. I don't quite understand how they do that. You feel like a regular even when you are not.

Just the two of us on Christmas day and traveling the following day so instead of cooking we found they were open. Great meal. Lobster bisqie, steak diane, chocolate terrine and bread pudding for dessert. Along with a bottle of Stags Leap cab a wonderful meail

My husband and I dined here recently for Dallas Restaurant Week and had high expectations after reading the reviews. I will admit that our visit was not so stellar and I was quite disappointed. The restaurant is cozy, dimly lit (almost too dark) and has a very romantic ambiance. The tables are beautifully set and the interior has a very European feel. The wine and cocktail list is quite impressive and extensive. We had a glass of Napa Chardonnay and a French 75 cocktail and both were very nice. The Dallas Restaurant Week menu offered three courses for $39 or $69 (with a wine pairing for each course), which is quite a savings from a normal dining experience. We opted for the three courses without the wine pairings. We began with the restaurant's signature Champagne Brie Soup which was quite delicious. The warm French bread basket and salted butter were also a very nice addition for the soup. The Pork Tenderloin entree was a disappointment. The meat was exceptional but the mashed potatoes were cold (not even lukewarm) and the green bean bundle was under-cooked (not blanched, not steamed, but hard and raw). The Lemon Sole was well-seasoned and well-cooked but the sauce was bland and tasteless. The green bean bundles on this plate were also well under-cooked. Our desserts were "good & bad." The White Chocolate Cheesecake was very tasty. The Flourless Chocolate Cake was more like a gooey piece of fudge or a rich chunk of cake icing and unlike any other 'flourless chocolate cake" we have ever eaten. Our entire meal was a "hit or miss" type of scenario. I would have gladly sent my cold potatoes and uncooked beans back if I had had the opportunity. Our waitress was almost non-existent and not the least bit helpful. When asked about food recommendations, we were told, "it's all good." No personal preferences, no questions, and no suggestions - she was quite indifferent to our wants and needs. We were never asked about our food or about drink refills (our water only got refilled after we had paid our check). We also got the feeling of being quite rushed - get 'em in and get 'em out as soon as possible and let's turn this table over! We seemed to be an afterthought the entire time we were dining there. We also witnessed an interaction between another waiter and the table next to us when the couple ordered a bottle of wine for their anniversary. Evidently the waiter did not feel that moscato was appropriate for their dinner, even though the patron told him two or three times that indeed, that was the wine they liked. Voices were loud enough for us to hear this conversation clearly and I actually felt for the couple. The waiter was quite "haughty" in my opinion and I am not sure if he ever conceded to bring them what they were asking for. I walked in the door this evening expecting to have a wonderful dining experience and left feeling quite dejected on several levels. Customer service was quite lacking. The food was good in some instances and not so good in others. Unfortunately, one focuses on the bad because it overshadows the good. Good service could have possibly turned all my negatives around, but unfortunately on this night, it didn't happen for us.

The staff is amazing. The food is amazing. This is the hidden gem of Dallas. This restaurant has starch white tablecloths. Charming old world artwork and gold brushed sconces that will take you to the old Europe of yesterday. Prices are reasonable and the food is amazing. There are coves and rooms to explore and beautiful, live piano in the evenings. This is the ROMANTIc spot in Dallas. I hope it never closes...

Have not been to St Martins in several years. Just because we haven't wandered that way. And I have today we will be wandering back. Had a delicious brunch today. Used open table for our reservation.

We came here for Restaurant Week 2021 after having visited the restaurant a couple of times previously. The food selections ranged from mediocre to good with a grilled salmon entree sticking out on the better side. There was a real disconnect in service. Our waiter pushed the optional wine pairings that were selected for each course. We took that route and then a few minutes later got to hear another waiter tell the table behind us that the pairings were worthless and to skip them. Solid salesmanship there.

The restaurant decor has an old world charm to it. Very fitting for a fine French restaurant. Fabulous dinner!! Champagne Brie soup was fantastic! Parmesan crusted salmon, Herb crusted pick, beef bourguignon were all excellent. Crime brûlée, white chocolate cheesecake, chocolate terrine ~ out of this world good. We will definitely be back!

The food was absolutely divine. The fruits de mer thermidor is one of the best dishes I’ve had in my life. The champagne soup made me want to lick the bowl. If only the restaurant weren’t so fancy. The soufflé was just ok. Same with the wine selection. Highly recommended!

Saint Martin’s is my fav place on Greenville; and one of my entire fav restaurants in Dallas. The ambiance is so old world, the piano music is wonderful, the menu is exhaustive & yet everything is wonderfully & artfully executed. We had the foo Gras, the lobster Thermidor [amazing] & the duck [Toni’s repeat favorite!]. Topped that off with a Grand Marnie Soufflé & I was so happy to enjoy this lovely, well prepared supper, the exquisite service, the warm welcome, & frankly the menu! We will be back for pate, mussels, escargot, more duck & lobster, & of course the souffle! I must say, for Dallas, Saint Martin’s prices were extremely reasonable, especially the small plates & appetizers. Don’t wait...go! You can dine in the romantic area off the piano area, at the lovely European style bar or in bistro style settings, or... reserve my fav the enclosed niche that makes one feel such a princess!

I love that St. Martin hasn't changed! It was one of my favorite places over 20years ago when I lived in Dallas. I revisited it 4 years ago and was so pleased that it hadn't changed a bit....! I come to Dallas twice a year & St. Martins is always a must when, I come. The food, staff, atmosphere are awesome & most of all the beautiful piano music played by Louis. Please never change....!

It has been years since we ate at St. Martin’s, and I don’t know why we waited so long to come back. The menu is varied. The food was perfectly prepared. The wine list was extensive. And the service was perfection. It has a cozy environment which makes talking easy. My only criticism is that we needed a flashlight to read the menu, but that made it perfect for a romantic evening out.

We hadn't been to St. Martin's since our kids were small, but now that they're celebrating their kids' birthdays we returned for a private celebration. St. Martin's is located in a quiet stretch of lower Greenville; it hasn't changed on the outside in years. Inside it's still like a storefront Bistro, a bit heavy on cheap French bistro chintz, but that's EZ to ignore; white tablecloths have been added. The continental menu is extensive for a relatively small place, but judging by the dinner crowd on a Tuesday evening, they move enough food to justify it. We stared with escargot (garlicky and creamy), lobster bisque and baked onion soup (rich bone broth and great cheese); all were delicious. My wife chose Tournedos Rossini while I tried the Sea Bass in the same lobster bisque served earlier, both were excellent. blanched asparagus and carrot bundles were firm and tender. Portions were ample. St. Martin's is billed as a Wine Bistro and while the Wine List is good and reasonably priced, St Martin's is not the best place to try wines by the glass, which I intended. We opted for a Cotes du Rhone at $40 which paired well with dinner. We went over the top and ordered a Grand Marnier souffle. While not disappointing, I can make better. An accompanying Espresso Martini was in the same class. We'd go back, but we'd lighten things up a bit.

We reserved a table for our 15th wedding anniversary last Tuesday night. They seated us in the lovely little private nook and took wonderful care of us all evening. We were pleasantly surprised they had live music on a weeknight, too. We had the escargo, petite salad, and I had the beef Bourguignon and my spouse had the rack of lamb. I can't say enough about how good the beef was, and the escargo were perfection. The service we received was impeccable with absolutely perfect timing as well.

There are a lot of great places to eat in Dallas, but Saint Martin's on lower Greenville Avenue breaks the urban blueprint of the stereotype that generally accompanies this "nouveau rich" city insofar as once you step inside, you feel transported to another scene more like the feeling of walking into a Manhattan bistro. The ambient effects of service, lighting, & incredible sounds from the Jazz pianist all create a confluence of sensations that is only matched by the quality of food. The food is absolutely mouthwatering starting with snails in garlic butter sauce, jumbo shrimp in Dijon sauce, & other equally delicious starters. Each dish is individually flavored to a truly refined & unique flavor. Then, my favorite is a peppered filet mignon that literally melts in your mouth. Other menu items, especially fish entrees are also outstanding. The menu is uncomplicated, & every selection is spot-on! There are a limited number of window-side tables, but the entire seating selection is cozy & comfortable. The service is impeccable. Finally, there is the piano player, who not only delivers great dining music, but who is also an act in himself due to his style, poise, & electric enthusiasm. He will play a rendition of "My Funny Valentine" that will break your heart. It all comes together: setting, lighting, service, food, & music to make for a wonderful evening for any occasion. Urge you to do valet parking due to high level of traffic congestion in the area.

There obviously are many places to eat in Dallas but! .... Saint Martin's is truly 1 of the best! Absolutely delicious food!! From the fresh made mojitos to the bread to appetizers to the main course, it was all delicious! This is a very cozy & warm place w/ the perfect setting for romance--live piano music (but not overbearing), low light, small, just right. But would also be good for a group of friends or w/ family. Soooooo liked this place. Will definitely return when visiting Dallas again!

We went here for the first time together in the new location. Lovely and romantic. Very welcoming when we walked in the door. Music excellent. It was our anniversary. We found the drinks to be good but small. The Martini's were in a smallier glass than before. The cost was $17.00. A Margarita was $14.00. I know things cost more now but....? We had the Escargot and Lobster bisque for appetizers. Both excellent. For entrées we had the rack of lamb and the Kansas City Strip. The lamb was good and a generous portion. The steak was a great disappointment. This was on the level of a "select" type from the grocery store. It was loaded with gristle all the way through. It gave your teeth a work -out! The sauce that came with the steak was good but so salty you could not eat it. The gravy/sauce with the lamb was also very salty. We let our waiter know and the management offered to get us something else. It was getting late and we opted to keep our food. The potatoes were average because it is hard to make a mashed potato be special. They offered us free desserts because we didn't have our meal changed. This was very nice. Some restaurants provide a free dessert to split on a special occasion but they did not. I want to note that here so it won't be expected. The desserts were a $24,00 cost and we were pleased with them. Overall we had a good time and enjoyed ourselves. Very attentive wait staff and managers. Pricey but expected. I don't know if we will go back because they didn't have any other entrees we would want in the future. Oh, and when we asked for change for the valet. They gave us 2 $5.00 dollar bills out of a ten. I guess that meant we were to give the mandatory parking attendant $5.00 for parking our car. This is a good restaurant but things did surprise us overall with what we had both in price and quality.

Great experience for an early dinner; classic setting with calming iano music in the background, nice presentation, and good food. It was an enjoyable experience.

I have continued to go to St. Martin's for many years and it's still one of my favorite spots. It's romantic, cozy, wonderful food and service, has a terrific live piano and yet the sound level remains such that you can actually have conversations without resorting to screaming at your compatriots or hand signals. What's not to like? The cuisine is positioned between French and Italian with a tilt towards French and the wine list is very good as well. So drop in with someone you love, friends you want to enjoy, or even go by yourself to enjoy an indulgent, reflective evening. You won't go wrong.

We met with some old friends at the St Martin's for our first visit. The food was superb, service by Victor was excellent ! What we liked was the fact they weren't trying to turn tables and shove us out the door. We had escargot, crab cakes, lobster bisque, Chilean sea bass, tournedos and a great selection of drinks. All were great. Did cost about $80/person, but well worth it! Also, valet parking was nice and fast.

My wife and I saw this place on Greenville and did some research on open table. Glad we did! All our food was good especially the appetizers. The wine list was varied and pretty reasonably priced. Cocktails were served promptly and were in nice big glasses not these little tiny martinis like some of the more hip spots in town. Best of all the live piano music added a relaxing touch. We will definitely add this place to our go to places. If you want good food in a relaxing old school atmosphere give Saint Martins a try.

This year, we found ourselves celebrating Thanksgiving by ourselves. Cooking a feast for two seemed like too much effort. I discovered the Thanksgiving dinner offered at St. Martin's Wine Bistro. The meal exceeded our expectations. We were warmly greeted at the door and seated immediately. Our waiter arrived promptly and was attentive throughout the meal. Wonderful bread, amazing brie/champagne soup. Our entrees were excellent. I enjoyed a lovely glass of wine with my meal. Hats off to St. Martin's Wine Bistro. And we enjoyed the subtle piano music being played in the background. We will be back to celebrate the next time we have a special occasion.

Service is fantastic! You feel like you're in a quiet, cozy world just made for you when you walk in the door. Piano bar doesn't over the place and is nice in the background. Food is fantastic! We've had the beef, the veal, and seafood. Can't go wrong if you've got a few dollars to spend!

Decor has character. A great formula. Successful balance between a sophisticated bistro and a restaurant where one feels comfortable. The menu is interesting; it has a wide range of choices for appetizers (e.g.delicious mussels) as well as entrees or desserts. The wine selection should satisfy everyone. It would have been a perfect outing if we had not had the grumpiest server. He showed no interest whatsoever in helping guests decide on their choices. He passed dishes in front of diners' faces and didn't even apologize after dropping some soiled silverware on the knees of a guest.

Our daughter and son-in-law took us for Sunday brunch. The food was excellent; three of our party had the three part brunch which included drinks. The Bloody Mary was very good, and the champagne Brie soup was excellent. The service was very good through arrival of the main course but then almost nonexistent. We enjoyed the piano music!

We came here for DFW restaurant week, perhaps the menu represented the true classics only. We had absolutely no complaints; salmon was creamy and rich, the duck cooked perfectly, the chocolate mousse was fluffy as expected. Yet, I had tasted it all before. Being such a classical French bistro interpretation, we stepped back in time to my mother’s recipe books from the ‘80s. Likely exacerbated by the fact that the average diner around us was probably approaching retirement age. The dining room was a little dim for my taste. Come here when your grandparents are in town or whenever else you need a “safe bet”. You won’t be disappointed.

We celebrated my daughters 22nd birthday this evening. We had amazing food and service! My daughter and I are gluten free and they took care of us 😊😊

This place is a pleasant romantic throwback to the 70s ( at least) with piano music, leather upholstered booths with oak wainscoting and very good food. We had the beet salad, French onion soup, sole, duck, and crème brûlée all of which were excellent. Wine by the glass choice was very good and our waiter very attentive. It was a very enjoyable evening and would certainly return if I’m back in Dallas

This place is old fashioned, but more like an English pub than a French brasserie. More suitable for a pseudo romantic place for couples than for a group of friends. Not much upscale about this place other than the moderate to expensive prices. I would opt for something a bit more sophisticated.

Everything was great from the moment we arrived! Wonderful wait staff and delicious meal with wine. Will go back. Enjoyed the Brie soup.

I recently went back to Saint Martin's, which used to be a very good restaurant. It was the day after Valentine's Day. The food was very disappointing, especially given the price. My meat dish was advertised as "tenderloin", instead it was like stew beef, large-grained and tough. The sauce was nothing special. Whipped potatoes were good. I also ordered the salad with beets. The beets seemed to have come from a jar. I know any restaurant can have an off night, but I resent paying for "tenderloin" and being served a much cheaper cut. The pianist was the best thing about the restaurant. Very disappointing. I will not go back.

We have been here 5 times now- mostly on our anniversary. It's a small, dark, romantic restaurant off Greenville Avenue. They have a wonderful piano player over the holidays. The host is a French gentleman with grey hair and is always very gracious and welcoming. The food overall is really good although the scallops were a bit gritty this last time. The service is attentive but not hovering. I would definitely say this restaurant is for special occasions as it is pricey and the atmosphere is intimate. Consistently one of the better restaurants in Dallas

We had dinner for 5 people each ordering different dishes. Every dish exceeded our expectations. The brie cheese soup was incredibly good . The owner was pleasant and his staff very well trained: they were knowledgeable about the menu, pleasant and engaging without ever crossing the line of overbearing. Entire evening was a great success!

This is one of the best restaurants in Dallas. Small but it puts out some really great food and the staff is very polished. They know what you need before you know you need it. Had the mussels, perfect; lamb chops, cooked a perfect pink; their house soup, a brie and champagne that is out of this world and they have a very nice wine list. Perfect place for a romantic dinner, date or even their Sunday brunch is awesome. Really love this place.

Food, service, staff and ambiance was great. As others have said, the setting is romantic and all act like they are glad to see you. Prices are not outrageous.

Since we moved to Fort Worth over five years ago, St. Martin's is no longer a Sunday treat for us. But today we needed to stop by the State Fair to drop off our Hobbies and Collectibles entries, and my wife thought of St. Martin's. (Other top choices were Cafe 43 and Celebration.) We were felt fortunate to get a table, and as we were seated it brought back great memories. Wonderful live piano music. Service was superb; my wife is a voracious tea drinker, and her generous sized tea glass was kept full (very good tea, she said). We went with the $16.95 prix fixe brunch and started with the very tasty St. Martin's salad. For our entrees we chose the Crab Cake Benedict and the Tournedos Benedict, both of which were wonderfully prepared and delicious. The grilled vegetables could not have been better. I am not particularly of fan of sour dough bread, but I could have eaten that all day long. My only regret as I write this is that we did not at least share a creme brulee. As we left, I inquired of the couple near us how they liked St. Martin's. Reply was that they "...have coming here forever; this is our table every Sunday."

Classic, old style French restaurant with many of the tried and true favorites. Inside it is lovely, with the added panache of a guy playing the baby grand. The down sides are but two, a little too dark were we were, so we could not fully appreciate the food as it looked like it might be a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds, and the silverware felt a bit cheap and rough, at odds with the rest of the dining experience. The rest of the evening was superb. The mussels were plump, perfectly cooked without a trace of grit anywhere, nor were there any broken or closed ones in what was for an appetizer, quite a large order. The sauce was certainly not a dirty dishwater example, but rich with tomatoes, garlic and a fair amount of hot pepper overlying the main flavors. Great for sopping up with the table bread which was a joy in itself. The pate plate was full of contrasting flavours and textures, with the pate itself and the mustard both being worthy of a second visit. The main course of sea bass was cooked just right, with a nice crust, and it fell away in big juicy flakes at the touch of the fork. The roast duck was really too much meat even for me and I am not a little boy. The leg was a better flavour than the breast, but the breast was nice and tender with just a hint of a citrus glaze, and it came served with asparagus and heaps of mashed potatoes. I could not finish it as it was just too much food. Dessert we limited to a shared flourless chocolate cake (more of a mousse) with our addition of some raspberry sorbet, a cappuccino and an Armagnac. A note about the wines. Most of them were fairly priced and there was a decent selection by the glass, but it lacked having the odd really special French white to match the food. We had a serviceable Jadot Chassagne Montrachet, but a good 1st Cru Chablis or even a good vintage Montrachet would have been a nice upside. I did not pay enough attention to the reds to comment, but a nice glass of acabernet/merlot blend recommended by our waiter, went down like dry silk with the duck. We got out for less than $100/person despite a top bottle wine choice and the brandy and I would go back at any excuse, date or no date.

Saint Martin's wine bistro did an excellent job for restaurant week in Dallas. My Les fruits de Mer crepe was superb with the shrimp, scallops, crab meat, crawfish, lobster and spicy sauce. The roast duck entree was perfectly cooked with a delicious, apricot, black currant sauce. And the creme brulee was a creamy, comfortable ending. Our guests enjoyed the champagne brie soup, filet of sole and the chocolate mousse. It was a wonderful dinner with the piano in the background. Service was attentive and seamless. We sat at front table which was loud earlier in the evening but softer toward the end.

What an amazing experience ! RENNEE was our waiter, and he is spetacular ! The halibut was cooked to perfection, and they accommodated my request to change the side dish to a breath taking experience of a sweet corn puree. The piano player was also excellent. Overall, it was an amazing night with food from heaven ! And I note that I am a chef from France.

Nice meal, good food. Soups tasty (brie & lobster bisque), beef tenderloin (Diane & Tournedos Rossini) also good, but mine was a bit overcooked (medium vs ordered medium rare). Not crazy about souffle, too runny. Overall pretty good value. Nice ambience.

This was our fourth visit to a great restaurant we discovered eleven years ago and it was as fantastic as all the other visits. This time we invited some good friends that had never heard of it to join us for Restaurant Week and they loved it. The minute you walk in you are greeted and immediately shown to your table and someone is there to fill the water. Victor introduces himself and then takes over to pilot you through a real dining experience. Nothing, and I do mean nothing is rushed. He is not in a hurry to flip the table. From presentation to taste to ambiance this place is a diamond. What a great evening.

Enjoyed a wonderful date night at Saint Martin's last night. It was our first visit to this cozy restaurant. We used the valet parking. We were a few minutes early for our reservation but were seated with no waiting. The service was great. Our server Dee Dee was attentive and helpful, checking on us from time to time but not hovering. My husband ordered the salmon appetizer and I had the champagne Brie soup. His appetizer was delicious and could have served as a light supper. My soup was fabulously creamy and rich. I followed the soup with the Coquille St. Jacques entree. The scallops were tender and nicely seared. A very tasteful combination of spinach and roasted bell pepper was nicely complemented by the flavorful cous cous. My husband had one of the menu specials, Bouef a la Richard, a combination steak, scallop, shrimp dish with roasted potatoes. It was a meal he raved about. There was not a morsel left on either of our plates. The serving sizes were right on target big enough for us to be full but not over stuffed or walking out with leftovers to be ruined by the microwave the next day. We were glad we had room left for chocolate silk pie and pecan pie that finished our meal off in style. The romantic atmosphere is created through candle light, lots of tables for 4, softly lit bar that runs down the center where one can dine and chat, as well as the piano music that includes a lot of romantic standards by Michel Legrand. A great place for a romantic evening with a special someone.

My wife was looking for something different when we decided to head to Dallas for some Christmas shopping. She found Saint Martins which ended up being a great experience. The service, meal and souffle were better than expected. We will make this a stop for other special occasions.

Awesome Date night place , The ambiance takes the lead in getting this rating , not that the food wasn't great or service wasn't impeccable but the dim lighting, piano & overall relaxed feel to the space was awesome !

This would be a great restaurant for a quiet intimate dinner, but ask for our cozy little nook in the back which seated only 4, or for a spot in one of the smaller side rooms. The tables in the bar area are good too, but noisy and better suited for those who like loud areas. Pictured is the Champagne Brie soup which is a trademark and delicious! The seafood crepe Appetizer was also good. Our party tried 4 different entries. I chose the duck which was very good. But the salmon was a huge portion and looked even better. Our friend said her filet was excellent and husband enjoyed his pork dish. Try a dessert other than the cheesecake as it wasn't anything special- when I don't finish cheesecake or take it home, that's unusual. Overall very good evening and loved the setting.

Great seafood appetizer and steak au poivre AND classy chocolate cheese cake. Nice piano music though a bit loud for this fellla's opinion. Easy parking and valet

Lovely evening with incredible escargot, scallops for dinner, creme brûlée and a Snowcap to end. Wonderful service, great wine selection and delicious food!

The atmosphere is lovely; light piano music, soft chatters and no TV! Service was great and a good variety of wine. The Brie and champagne soup was to die for! Definitely worth a visit!

We dine here often and fine the food amazing. The owner and staff make your dining experience memorable. The bar is fun to meet for drinks pre-dinner and Sonny and Iris are at your service. John is ever attentive to see to our needs. Bon Appetit!

Great atmosphere with live piano to relax the soul... Great wine and beverage selection... This night we started with delicious mussels, followed by a house salad and then a spectacular Les Fruits De Mer Thermador...Lobster Tail, Gulf Shrimp, Jumbo Lump Crabmeat and Sea Scallops in a fantastic sauce of sherry, tarragon bechamel sauce... wow, absolutely delicious. Others ordered Sea Bass, Surf and Turf and a special Chicken dish...all were great! Enjoy!

Went here with my husband for Valentine’s Day. Delicious food, great cocktails, romantic atmosphere, live music, and friendly staff. Will be going back

My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at St. Martins. The service was good but that’s about it. My husbands salmon was alright but my steak was not. The cook was okay but absolutely no flavor or seasoning. Also, when you spend $150 you would think you would receive a free dessert for an anniversary or birthday. Way too expensive for the quality you get. Also the restaurant could use a good cleaning. I know it’s supposed to look old but that doesn’t mean it has to be super dusty. Will not return and would not recommend.

Loved, loved, loved St Martins. Food, service and ambience was wonderful. Can't wait to go back for dinner

My husband and I had the pleasure to enjoy dinner at this romantic upscale French bistro last night. Arrived to Dallas yesterday and found this absolute hidden gem on trip advisor as my husband desperately wanted to enjoy a steak Dianne. The menu is very classic and offers favorite dishes which are rare to find nowadays. We travel 20-25 days each month for buisness thus eating in restaurants all over the world. We both agreed that Saint Martin's was the most pleasurable experience we have had for years! And all reasonable priced. Everything was perfect! We started with drinks in the bar and were then moved to our table. The setting is very romantic and the live piano music absolutely lovely! The food is amazing! My husband started with foie gras and I had the champagne and brie soup! Foie gras is always delicious and the soup so utterly tasty!!! Dinner followed with steak Dianne and Tournedos Rossini, paired with a full-bodied Malbec. Again: both dishes cooked to perfection! We couldn't resist desert so tried the flourless chocolate cake and the creme brûlée together with a glass of sauternes, both perfect to finish off an already perfect dinner! You definitely have to go here and enjoy a memorable evening! We have a total of 4 nights in Dallas and already agreed that we will go back on our last night, that is in 2 days - we can't wait!

A lovely, small, cozy restaurant. The brie cheese soup is to die for. Always makes fr a special evening. We need more traditional restaurants like this instead of all the new industrial looking places. Many special memories here.

Love the atmosphere and the menu. But the food is hit and miss and the wine list is mediocre. Recent visit is a good example. Wine list is mostly off year bottles the wholesalers have discounted because they are not moving well. Best Bordeaux years, for example, are 2009, 2010, 2015, and 2016.

This is a classic French bistro, dimly lit, live piano music, impeccable service and carefully prepared dishes. My sea bass on risotto with a lobster sauce was delicious, the fish perfectly pan seared and cooked to perfection. Great place for a date.

We went here with another couple to celebrate our anniversaries. This is a quaint and cozy restaurant on Lower Greenville. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and had a great table to listen to the piano player. We began with the champagne soup and escargot and both were delicious. For our entrees we ordered pork, scallops, sea bass, and lemon sole. We all loved our meals, and we finished off with two grand mariner soufflés. Absolutely amazing! Can't wait to return.

I can't believe I've lived in Dallas this long and am just now eating here. FANTASTIC: atmosphere, service, food. Unreal. These people have it down. We had escargot and the brie soup for starters OMG delicious. Fresh bread and butter accompanies. Nice. We each had steak: one Diane and one with frites (so fresh and crispy!). the seasoning on the steak made it super tender and tasty. The sauce! It was so freaking good I am still thinking about it. Get here if you can. The prices are reasonable and you get a lot of food. Terrific wait staff with dry sense of humor----so fun!

I was looking for a great restaurant with cozy ambience and stumbled upon this gem. Our waitress DiDi(hope I said it right) was great. The food was really good. We did the 4 course dinner through DFW restaurant week. They also have a great selection of wine. Also, the piano bar with soft and soothing music adds charm to the place. Will definately go there again.

This restaurant has been in business for 30+ years, and I don't know why. The decor, music, and menu haven't changed much since the 70s. Dark, kitschy "artwork," and fake flowers. No innovation here. Photos are deceiving. Ambience is nonexistent. Food was so so, noise level high, and not helped by non-stop piano player and his impromptu guest, a diner who apparently took the place for a karaoke bar. I don't think it's unfair to compare it with other $$$$ restaurants like Abacus, which is ten times better. Pear and beet in the salad tasted canned. Steak poivre was tough, French Fries ordinary, but dessert--apple tart was pretty good. As for service, a non-drinker who ordered soda water, I was not offered a refill, while companions were frequently asked if they wanted more wine. Fortunately we were guests, so I won't complain about the cost, but I would never return or take my own guests there.

We hadn't been to this restaurant in many years and it was a nice surprise. From the pate, to the scallops, and veal dish, all in our party thought that the food was exceptional. The piano player helped to create a great atmosphere and we appreciated the manager pointing out to us the wonderful huge antique bar and a little history. Instead of a new, loud, forgettable restaurant, this one has survived a long time and I know why.

Went for Sunday brunch! The 3 course menu included a drink, starter and entree. We had friends in town and the service was excellent. Overall good value for pric.

Perhaps one of the last of the quiet, unassuming places in the Metroplex where you can have a lovely meal and also a conversation at the same time. We love to dine there on Sundays after church, and have never been disappointed.

On our latest visit the food was bland, the wait staff snooty, the service rushed, and while finishing our coffee we were told to move to the bar so they could turn over the table. I've been up all night with food poisoning. Never again.

Ambience is 5 star. Love the decor. The steak/beef dishes and creme brûlée are very good. I had the stuffed lobster tail dish and it was very mediocre. 4 star is probably a better rating but I was so disappointed at the last visit.

St. Martin's never ceases to amaze me. Every time I eat there it is spectacular. If you have a "special someone" this is the place to impress them. The interior is very intimate. I enjoy the seating booths in the room to the far left for a romantic date with my wife. If you can not sit there, try for a reservation in the back room with the fire place. Wonderful live piano music has been playing each time we have eaten there. The service is magnificent with wonderful waiters who are real pros. The beef and seafood are as good as any I have ever had at the French Room. This is listed as one of the most romantic restaurants in Dallas, and never ceases to amaze. Worth every penny you will pay.

The salads were a disappointment, dressing for Cesar was tasteless. On the other hand, the dinner was absolutely phenomenal!!!

St. Martin's is certainly a diamond in the rough, found on Greenville's lower end, and within a sort of strip-center settings. Nonetheless, St. Martin's really shines as a beacon of romance and sophistication in fine dining while in Dallas. We were greeted enthusiastically by the Maître D' who promptly seated us at a nice table. Silverware and glasses were perfectly positioned, and a small flower arrangement adorned the table. Lights were quite dim, setting the right amount of visual ambience for our dining experience. As with most restaurants, there were the "Specials of the Day," ranging from beef to chicken to seafood. There was lobster bisque as well for the soup du jour. For starters, we both had the recommended "La Brie Et Champagne" soup. All I can tell you is that you MUST try this. A rich and simple cheesy soup that was perfectly infused with brie. Not a single drop was left. For our appetizers, we decided on the "La Tartare De Boeuf" and the "Les Escargots St. Martin’s." The tartare was perfectly presented with just the right amount of herbs, spices, and garlic. Escargot was brimming with tasty mounds of goodness bathed in buttery garlic and shallots, and served with crostini. Both were simply divine. For our meals, I ordered the Chateaubriand steak which was a listed Special of the Day. Presented in perfectly cooked medium rare with a subtle sauce and perfectly cooked asparagus spears. She ordered the Chilean Sea Bass that was accompanied by a savory sauce, asparagus spears, and served atop a mound of herbed mashed potatoes (I think). Both were simply outstanding. For dessert, we shared the "Almond ball." a ball of vanilla ice cream that was rolled in toasted almonds and dressed with just the right amount of chocolate syrup. Simple, but very nice. The only downside of the visit was actually the piano playing. I know..."how can that be an issue?" you might ask. Well, being a piano player for the vast majority of my life, I guess I'm just finicky about such things. First, please TUNE the piano you have in your restaurant. If you're not sure if it is in tune, just ask someone who plays if it is. At any rate, you can certainly afford to have someone come in on a monthly basis and bring it up to par. Next, the piano player had a relationship with the sustain pedal that beyond tolerable for me. Each note drowned the other throughout various melodies of dated Disney movie tunes, a Phantom of the Opera song, and old standards like "Misty" et al. The combined sustained and resonating sounds of the out-of-tune piano with some cliche' tunes were almost intolerable at times. At one point I was prepared to offer a large tip to just have the pianist stop, but I simply tried to ignore it. Sorry for being picky, but this is just one of my very few irritations when it comes to a house piano player. Nonetheless, the experience was well worth it. Food and ambience was the perfect fit for a special occasion, and we will certainly be back!

The food, the service, the atmosphere....we've never had any disappointments here. This time we started with foie gras, then my wife had the duck and I had lamb chops, all simply excellent. Dessert was both the chocolate and grand marnier souffles; again great! The live piano makes for the 'icing on the cake', really nice.

Charming, old ambiance. Wide selection of food, wine, and bar. Excellent preparation and presentation. This a 'goto' place for a quiet, relaxed evening.

I September for the first time in many years I wondered into saint Martin Bistro and had a delightful dinner. The food was excellent and the piano music was very pleasant and added to the excellent experience.

I chose this restaurant after seeing an article about it being one of the most romantic restaurants in Dallas. Well they weren't kidding! Fantastic setting. Live piano music, a very welcoming staff and the food was incredible. I tried the Chilean Sea Bass and it was delicious. My wife had the Ahi Tuna and it was just as good. We split the Chocolate Silk pie for desert and if you are a chocolate lover, which my wife is, you can't go wrong. I highly recommend this place for a romantic night out. I selected the price level as mid range but it's more at the high end of mid range or the low end of fine dining.

Always great food and service. Memories of the piano music Best to make reservations. Always popular and busy

There are loads of Bistro’s around Dallas Saint Martin Wine Bistro however without a shadow of a doubt is the number 1 consistently Superb that is Saint Martin

I am sorry to say that this restaurant has reportedly the most delicious French cuisine in the USA, with the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I specialize in reviewing French cuisine, which covers food, decor, ambience, and customer service which comprises of an authentic French experience...-vs- an American dining experience with decent French dishes. I feel it is important to review this niche market because it is the last of a dying breed of service and care which is also put into the food, the food that nourishes the customer. I dressed to take myself to a celebratory birthday dinner, and had been looking forward to the occasion. I have heard stellar reviews from French expatriates who live in Dallas, and wanted to have a wonderful time. The restaurant offers live piano music, which made the mood favorable to the anticipated dining experience. Unfortunately, the pianist started at 7 pm when I was an hour + out from my arrival. Regardless, I was greeted warmly, and DeeDee was a lovely server who took my order of a glass of red wine, appetizer of escargot, and Beef Bourgignon as my entree. While I was ordering my food, loud static filled elevator music filled the restaurant with a jarring insanity. I politely asked my server if the manager could please change or lower the music in the restaurant so I could enjoy my birthday meal. I was the only customer in the restaurant. My server promptly alerted management, who promptly alerted me that a speaker had blown out and there was nothing to be done about it. I relayed to management that I am a musician, and could not sit for an hour + meal in aural agony. She could care less, watched me leave with a potential $200+ bill out the door. If you have left your hearing aids at home and do not care to see any of your surroundings due to dangerously low-lighting in every corner, this is your spot. Otherwise, YouTube Julia Child and make a French meal at home like I ended up doing for my birthday.

Old school classic French menu with many classics. Very well done in this cozy restaurant. We were too early to see the piano man, since we arrived at 5:30 for a pre show dinner. Brie soup was very good but had to add salt. Escargot were very good with great french bread. The homemade patè was on the dry side. Lobster Thermidor was excellent. Superb service. We will definitely be back.

Ambiance is nice, the live Piano added to the romance of the place. Enjoyed the meal. The Grand Mariner Suffole was to die for. Really a great choice for a perfect birthday dinner.

We have always visited St. Martin’s Wine Bistro when we are in Dallas but I don’t know that we’ll be back. They do have a wonderful wine list and the food was good, not as good as in the past but good. The service was lackluster as our server was experiencing problems with her knees and shared her “problem” with us while providing slow service. The restaurant was also loud, there was a baby in the restaurant and parents of that baby changed that baby in the short hallway by the restrooms right by our table while staff walked around them. This is not the type of restaurant where I expect that to happen.

Great evening. Service very good and attentive. Steak Diane outstanding. Lobster Thermidor great. Salads were also very good. Will definitely return

Charlotte Comer, ASID, an interior designer from Dallas is often our host when we are in Dallas, doing trunk shows for our clients. Her home is a beautiful location for us , comfy and filled with outer bedding. To honor her we done around Dallas. One of our fav places is Saint Martin's Wine Bistro. It's a romantic place, has a cool bar and piano, but it's the menu that we love. Pate, foie gras, chateaubriand, an amazing menu for a foodie. Great service and excellant wines. We dined two nights this week there. On the first, we had a waiter that was a bit pompous, so we asked that he be dismissed and so the maitre'd took care of us personally, and made our dinner superb. We explained our favorite table and he reserved that for the next evening making our second supper pure perfection! Highly recommended. When you make your recommendation for the table in the back of the restaurant, tucked into an alcove it's very special and fun too. Enjoy!

they have excellent service and food. it is the perfect date night with a live pianist. Very romantic and quiet.

The food was top notch, very delicious, good quantity and excellent atmosphere. Our server, a long time employee, was very knowledgeable. A great evening with many “um goods”

Everything was perfect. I had a fantastic lemon drop before my dinner. I had the Chilean sea bass and my husband had mussels. The staff was friendly and attentive. Adorable place! Very romantic!
Service, Price AND Quality - Wow!
John, the St. Martin GM continues to deliver the balance of 3 components that are almost always impossible to blend, Service, Price and Quality. Add a great, old world atmosphere, including excellent, live piano, superb wine selection (at crazy low prices) and you've got the makings for a great evening. Once you've tried this place, odds are that you'll be coming back soon. Try escargot for $10 or delicious Foie Gras, an unbeatable value. Really wonder how John makes this happen, you will too!
