Food is outstanding!

By 3s2 |

I only eat there every 1 or 2 weeks and have the lunch special every time. Excellent Tom Kha soup (best I've had), Yellow Curry (very good) and Thai Tea. Needless to say I like it a lot. Funky little strip center and average interior, but the food is outstanding.

Perfect!

Visited the Richardson location. Great place! Flavorful and hot food, cozy and inviting atmosphere, good service, can't go wrong! My husband had the garlic chicken stir fry and I had the Bangkok beef. Both were fantastic.

BYOB for Asian Favorites

They have great chicken wings, unlike any you have ever had...all the dishes can be personalized according to protein type or veggies and tofu, plus you can make it spicy or not. I would say it is more Thai than anything else, with very fresh tasting ingredients.

Best Fried Stuffed Chicken Wings of the Texas State Fair

By TravelBunnyL |

This has been the first time to be at the Texas State Fair for my favorite restaurant. Sakhuu Thai Restaurant has had a great turn out for their Fried Stuffed Chicken Wings. Many people say they are the best that the fair has to offer this year. Even one of the radio disc jockeys said he love them. This is the last week for the fair. If you don't get to there, go to the Sakhuu Thai restaurant on 4801 Bryan Street, Suite 100, Dallas, TX.

Pleasing to the Palate

Small room but very good food and attentive service. Additional room to the side for larger groups. Atmosphere is naught, however, and the neighborhood is rather questionable.

Legit

New to Dallas and have been exploring restaurants for about a month now. Sakhuu is right up there with the very best, their curry is the best I’ve ever had. Pair that with BYOB service, and it simply can’t be beat.

Just okay

While visiting Dallas, I looked for a highly rated Thai restaurant. I drove out of the way to this very small, strip shopping center location. While not terrible, there was nothing special about this place. Egg roll was hot on the outside but frozen on the inside. Portions are ample and service is good but I would not return,

Great food and you can bring your own wine. I was adventurous and tried Gra Tiem with jasmine rice. Excellent.

Wonderful local restaurant - everyone seemed to be regulars - all comments were about how good the food is. My husband had the broccoli stir fry and lived it. Very friendly staff and great service.

Amazing food

Curry is really good but pad Thai is the best. Lunch special is very good, with appetizer and drink.

Best food- bad experience this time

By Kristy T. |

I am so sad to write this. Sakhuu has the best Thai food in Dallas and I order from there at least once a week. I ordered through Uber Eats tonight (per usual) after waiting about 45 mins my Uber driver called me and said somebody must have stolen my order and that restaurant was refusing to re-make it. I called and tried to explain the situation and asked if they could make it- they refused. They offered no apologies. They offered no suggestions of how to help. Sadly that's not the customer service I've come to expect.

Neighborhood Thai

By 5016DAH |

Nice little neighborhood Thai restaurant. Small and contemporary decor. Only open Tuesday - Saturday 11 am to 9pm. Friendly service. BYOB!! The most popular and best item on the menu is the Stuffed Chicken Wings with sweet chili sauce. Two pieces of de-boned chicken, stuffed with rice and spices, flash fried and served with a mildly sweet chili sauce. If you put some rice and vegetables with it, a fantastic meal!!! Need to try the Gra Tiem, good amount of spice #2 level, with mushroom, basil, bell pepper, garlic. Served with Jasmine Rice. The Pad Woon Sen is glass noodles with cilantro, ginger and bean sprouts, very good! Location is small strip center, across from Mai's Vietnamese and across parking lot from Jimmy's Italian. Great triangle of FOOD!!

best pad thai

By Glenn K |

A small, "hole in the wall," Thai restaurant that consistently provides excellent food. Their pad thai is "non-standard." The 1-5 heat rating can be extended as high as your taste buds can stand. I love pad thai chicken at 11.

Good experience

Really good Thai food. I had the pad Thai and it was delicious. Sweet, sour, savory, and spicy at the same time. (I ordered medium spice, but you can choose spice level.)

Don't trust reservations or special plans!

By ShariH662 |

Made reservations for 6 people as a Birthday celebration. Asked to come that am and arrange menu as a surprise. Pre-arranged the meeting and contact never showed after I waited 45 minutes. Chef/owner called and apologized. Related the incident to him and he was going to reprimand. Went to Bangkok Inn and had a great meal instead.

Sakhuu Thai Restaurant is the BEST!

By TravelBunnyL |

My friends and I go the Sakhuu Thai Restaurant every Tuesday night. We love the food and the owners are like family. I have had almost everything on the menu by now. The chicken wings are stuffed and a great appetizer. They were listed as number 1 in the Dallas magazine. I usually have the Pad Thai with chicken. If you are ever in Dallas go to Sakhuu for lunch or dinner. You will be in for a treat!!

Welcome Home Seaman Family Gathering

By Sandra Amaro A |

Sakhuu was so accommodating for our Navy homecoming gathering. Thomas's favorite dessert is flan and they not only allowed me to bring in his favorite but they kept in the fridge for me a day before the party. The food is amazing - Thom Kai soup and Param (level 2) our favorite. The staff is 5 star service and the prices won't break the bank. Our family votes YES for Sakhuu and we don't eat out often- we are very picky about food and SERVICE. Sakhuu surpasses our expectations in all areas.

One of best Thai restaurants in Dallas

By DiegoDallas_Texas |

SAKHUU has only been around a few years, but serves some of the best Thai food in Dallas at very reasonable prices. We have eaten at almost every Thai restaurant in Dallas, and this one is a favorite. The staff is very friendly, solicitous of your needs, and a pleasure to interact with. The Pad Thai and Pad Woon Sen are both excellent choices. The food is fresh, and you can choose your spice level. Bring your own wine and enjoy!

It's okay but not superb thai food...

We chanced upon this restaurant when we were on our way to my friend's college and decided to check it out. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful. We were promptly seated and offered a drink. We ordered from the lunch special menu. Each order (about $10 if you don't have add-on) comes with an appetizer, an entree, and a beverage of your choice. I ordered a bowl of tom yum soup, pad kee mow, and thai tea. The tom yum soup was nicely crafted with chicken, mushroom, and other condiments. My pad kee mow entree was just okay. It wasn't warm enough and the beef was a little tough. The thai tea was alright. I prefer not having beverage included in the set lunch but the price is pretty reasonable and the portion is substantial. I might come back to try out their other menu.

Fresh and filling Thai cuisine

Friends recommended Sakhuu during a recent visit to the Dallas. Sakhuu is located on a quiet street in a small strip mall in East Dallas. Off street parking is available and there is parking available in in the strip mall. The restaurant serves soft drinks, hot tea and coffeee as well as Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee. Diners may bring their bottles of wine and the restuarant will provide the wine glasses for a $1 fee per glass. We started with spring rolls, stuffed chicken wings, and fried shrimp wraps. The spring rolls were full of vegetables and meat. The shrimp wrappers were good, but the stuffed chicken wing was the star appetizer. The crisp exterior held the tender filling in place. We tried chicken pad thai, chicken pararam, and were introduced a dish not on the menu - Art's Special. Art's Special featured a generous portion of vegetables including cabbage, zucchini, mushrooms in light brown sauce. We tried Art's special with chicken and with shrimp. Each dish can be prepared to the desired spice level of the diner - five is the spiciest. I ordered Art's Special with chicken with level four spiciness. I was not disappointed. The spiciness was pronounced the following day when I ate my leftover entree for lunch. The staff is friendly, attentive and work quickly to make sure water glassses are filled and dishes are cleared away. The bathrooms are bright and clean. The owners, Angel and Kyla, stopped by the table to say hello and asked if we were enjoying the food. I asked Angel about the beautiful Buddha images in the room where we sat.Angela told us all the wall designs in the room had been created and designed by the owners.

Good, not great

By DoctorRandy |

All dishes served were good, just not in excellent territory. The Shumai was the tastiest appetizer. The fish cakes were too fishy.

Very good food, excellent service

By Kaptx |

Six of us went for dinner and split various entrees. The chicken and beef was very good in the dishes we had. All in all, every dish we had was good. Service was outstanding and the food warm. Also, it’s BYOB. A good evening overall.

Lovely restaurant

My husband and I visited Sakhuu tonight, and we really enjoyed it. It is a cozy little restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly as well. Being from out of town we did not know what to expect, but we really enjoyed our visit to Sakhuu and would recommend it to others!

Great lunch

Had a great lunch today at Sakhuu Thai in Dallas First visit. We had Pad Thai, basil fried rice, coconut soup and egg rolls. The lunch menu is $10 per person and well worth it. We will return when we are back in the area.

Excellent and service

Four of us had dinner at Sakhuu. The service was excellent. As to the meal, we had various appetizers all which were very good. Had pad Thai and various Chicken dishes. Also had meat in one other dish. All in all,a very good dinner.

Love it

Love the pad Thai and the curry at this place. Lunch special with appetizer and drink for 11.00 is amazing

New ownership lives up to the Sakhuu tradition of fantastic food and great service.

We are sorry to see Angel and Kyla sell Sakhuus, but as their family grew they had to set priorities. Yet they didn't forget their restaurant family. They made sure that they took care of their loyal customers even after they were gone, by insuring that the new owner was the same type of person as the two of them. They did good when they sold the place to Mia. Mia has kept a lot of the old menu items, but she has also added some great dished. My wife and I ate there this evening and found that it lived up to the Sakhuu name. We had a great meal and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the new management. Couldn't help but notice that they are now doing a large delivery business also. Thank you Mia for a great dining experience. Good luck to Kyla and Angel in your future endeavors
