Just arrived and glad we stumbled upon this pizzeria. Enjoyed the selections available! You won’t be disappointed.

If you try any Italian restaurant, and you don't have time to go to them all, look no further than Sal's Pizzeria in Brooklyn. We did, and we still can't stop thinking about their pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. My husband and I visited New York for two weeks recently with the sole intent of going on a pizza crawl. We're originally from the East Coast, so we know pizza. New York arguably has the best. We had pizza almost every day (only missed one) at different places in the city, Brooklyn, and Long Island, even two in N.J. I have to say that the BEST pizza and the only good spaghetti was from Sal's. Pizza everywhere we went was superb, so this is stiff competition. Sal's made their cheese slices with the right amount of cheese, tomato sauce, and dough. The alchemy produces a chewy/crisp, sweet/tangy bit of heaven. The crust holds up, not too thin (hate cracker crusts, that's not a pizza), not too thick, and worth eating on its own. But the spaghetti and meatballs? Forget about it! I worried the tomato sauce would be too sweet. It is at a lot of Italian restaurants, mostly pizza joints that also serve pasta. But this one was just right. The scent as the large bowl of spaghetti and meatballs approached wasn't the normal scent; I smelled fennel or something licorice, maybe heavy red wine and not garlicky tomato. But once I dove in, the taste was all that mattered, and the TASTE was everything. Deeply tomato-ey, not too bitter, not too sweet, depth of flavor that comes from simmering in the pot for hours if not days. My husband thanked the proprietor, who was there the entire time behind the counter and in the kitchen. He was told that the sauce is a family recipe from his grandmother, and they had to adjust/simplify the seasonings a bit for restaurant kitchens, because it's very complex. Proprietor was very pleased and touched by our appreciation. The entire staff is very friendly, fast, and efficient. There are plenty of tables inside — it's real restaurant — restrooms and nice picture windows looking out onto the intersection and sidewalks. The vibe is relaxed, even though the service is brisk. There were cops hanging out talking about their future, a lone customer enjoying his regular order in peace, another dining like a king on several dishes. If you go nowhere else, go here. You have to find parking on the street or definitely take the subway here. I'd skip Manhattan altogether and hang out in this part of Brooklyn. It's less touristy, more authentic, and surprisingly diverse.

Back to basics which is just how I, and many others, like it. Fresh ingredients. Friendly faces. Pleasant service. Wine while waiting always relaxes me after a long day at work. My favorite go to Pizza!!!

A good “by the slice” pizza spot for the area. A neighborhood location that is convenient, friendly, and quick.

Ordered to go, 4 pepperoni slices, 3 cheese, and 2 sicilians which came out to almost $43.00 when a pie is $22 and with pepperoni $25. When I asked why, he said that's the prices because it was 2 orders. I wanted clarification so asked if I was paying for it being placed in 2 boxes and he said no. Seems like theres a 50% markup on the price for individual slices.. just get a pie!!! The worst part is he was rude, like I did something wrong. Just be transparent with your customers so they won't feel cheated!!

Anchovy pizza pie to DIE for! Got my 2 slices to go and was in heaven! Their cheese rolls are good also. This is the real deal! Don't go anywhere else - fuggedaboutit.

Regular slice and an eggplant & ricotta slice. Both solid slices. Good service. Good pizza. Parking kinda a challenge.

Sal's is awesome. Their grandma square pie in particular is legend. Lots of sauce. Fresh cheese. Super crisp yet not burnt crust. I discovered this place when I lived in Williamsburg ten years ago. It's still standing. Every time I am in the area I stop by. You should too.

Sal's was right across the street from where we were staying. Great Pizza, Sal was very friendly. Definitely need to try this if you are in the area.

Stopped by Sal's Pizzeria on a Friday evening for casual dinner with friends. A variety of seafood dishes were being featured as the specials. We each had one of the three and we enjoyed all of them. The food is reasonably priced. The atmosphere is cordial and great for a quick meal. Although there is no formal table service, the gentlemen behind the counter are very agreeable and the food served was hot and very fresh which is extremely important when ordering any seafood. And of course, the pizza is great too!

I loved them but not anymore Just got a pie from them , no different from one dollar pizza franchise I’ve been getting pies from them since 1998 used to live in neighborhood, but something is wrong Did they change ownership? Cuz this is not sals pizza anymore Thanks

Love this place, fresh, delicious pizza- great variety. Got the capresse pizza, veggie pizza & garlic knots! They have wine & beer.
I've had better.
I get food here from time to time because it's close to my job. Never got the hype why so many people say it's the best. Pizza is average and the food could use more flavor and not be so bland. Parking is a nightmare in that area. There are much better places to grab a good slice in Brooklyn.
