I eat here on my annual trip to Houston. The service was great. Food great. I got a ribeye, potato and salad all were delivered exactly as ordered. I'll be back next year.

Have eaten here every time we visit and are never disappointed. Went with my daughter today and tried the Grilled Salmon. My daughter had the Sirloin with Coconut Shrimp. Both were cooked perfectly. They serve a complimentary Bread Roll with yummy sweet butter, very delicious. Our server was very personable and the service was great. Will be back for sure.

After a funeral, all we wanted to do was relax, unwind and catch up with family. We had the most terrible experience at a popular seafood restaurant that we left without eating and decided that we would give Saltgrass a shot rather than grabbing takeout and going home. I'm sure the poor servers could see the scowls on our faces as soon as we sat down. (If they only knew what we had just gone through.) Thank goodness the universe sent us Geo. He was so attentive and professional. The service was quick and he was very patient with us (we had a 5 year old and a picky, picky one in the crowd). The food came out spot on. Piping hot and very tasty. We couldn't have asked for better service. Kudos to the kitchen and the wait staff. Thank you so much for taking care of us during a very trying time. All I can say is AWESOME!!!

I would like to give this Deerbrook location less than zero if possible. Beware of there razor sharp knifes because I cut my finger very badly with one and the service I received was so uncaring,and the food was horrible. After talking with the manager Mark and HR dept Michelle nothing was even offer to replace our lunch. I guess that would have been to much off there bottom line. If you care about good service whenever you eat out avoid this location.

Great steak, great appetizers. Cocktails were perfect. The staff was excellent and when I asked for a copy of the receipt a week later, they responded immediately.

While in town for a conference this was the set place for us to have lunch with our Pastors. The portions were huge and the service was great!

Had a delicious dinner here. The salads were fresh with tasty dressing. Our steaks were cooked as we ordered them. Good food for a chain restaurant. Only negative was our waiter left us when we were ready to order so she could just visit with other customers.

Nicely done steaks and a great value. Will go back whenever I am in Texas. Hotel shuttle will take you from Hyatt North Houston for free.

While the flavor was good, the quality was not. The cheese steak had a lot of grissel and not a lot of meat. The service was ok but we waited a little longer than expected at a Landry's. My husband's sirloin steak was tender and flavorful. I may try this location again. Maybe it was just an off night but I may not order the sandwich next time.

The steak is very good but what stuck in my memory (& I will have every time I go back there) is Range Rattler appetizers, jumbo shrimp stuffed inside a whole jalapeno pepper with three different cheeses baked & served with dipping sauce & deep fried fine cut onion rings.

I though it was a local place, but it turned out to be a corporate American dinner, Could not find a local neighbor hood steak house so I settled for this. Decent variety of steaks, The bead is wonderful, but they don't serve it often. Long Island Ice-T was good and refreshing, Order the steak medium well because if you say rare, you get all red meat. Waitress server was decent and friendly. Did not have to wait for my meal and it was good. Bake Potatoes was loaded and very good, but the Mach and Cheese was cold in the middle could have heated it up first at high temperature's. I would go back if I had too, but would rather find a local dive and does just as good or better. Small tables inside and felt cramped.

Steak was cooked just like I wanted it. This certainly beat the Palm for price and flavor. Entire meal was good from appetizers to the final cheesecake, ice cream and other cakes.

In the Dallas location, if you request gluten free bread, they have it and it is good. I highly recommend it. Its now one of the reason this place is my go to. It is a must have!

When I saw the charge I asked why I could eat there and ask for to go boxes and wouldn’t be charged. The guy doing it said “what do you want me to do” then walked away. I won’t be back.

Great steak for the value and the service was quite special. The steak quality was not far from one three times its price in a much fancier steak house.

We go to this restaruant approx every 8 - 10 days. Roger is our waiter and we always sit in his section. Matter of fact; we sometimes call ahead to make sure that Roger is there. Roger is what we a call a specialist. My girl is picky about her order, very specific about how she desires the food to be serve and when. Roger, has listened and has went above and beyond service to make sure that he takes good care of us. When we are unable to get seated in Roger's section, he comes over and instructs the waitier on how we should be served. To be specific; my girl likes her salad to be served with her entire meal, not before and not alone. she likes a ceasar salad, made that way, but in addition she likes to eat it with a vinagrette dressing. Roger remembers all of this and continues to go out of his way to make us happy. When she is happy, I am happy! Roger is always polite, good smile, and very professional. What I really like is that I do not believe that Roger lives for tips, I believe that he is committed to providing the best customer service that he can, regardless of receiving a tip or not. As a result of this good service, I make it a point to tip Roger well, because I really appreciate him. Saltgrass is lucky to have such a person on their team and they should use him to instruct other waiters on how to deliver excellent customer service. Whatever they are paying Roger it is not enough!

Décor was like a steak house ought to be. My steak was delicious. The waitress was fabulous. It had been a while(over a year) since I had been at a Saltgrass, but it was worth it.

We were a party of four, hungry after attending a theater. What a huge mistake in visiting this Saltgrass Steak House on the North side of Houston. There was virtually no service, since the people who were supposed to wait on our table were seemingly engaged in conversations at other tables. We had to beg for even napkins and bread. All of our orders from the menu were either incomplete or flat wrong. Even after several attempts, some items still were missing and desperation set in. The food was ok but took forever to,arrive. The manager would appear throughout the couple of hours we were there and apologize for the total lack of service. Of course , no,real comps were offered. This was the absolutely last time, I will ever visit this restaurant.

First visit to Saltgrass Steak House ... ate at the bar ... food and service was very good. The chicken fried steak was among the best I've had ... tender, wasn't soggy and just the right amount of seasoning. I also enjoyed the mac and cheese, which had a smoky flavor. Mashed potatoes were average. Side salad solid as well. One friend had a steak and reported it to be very good, cooked just right. Other friend had a burger and enjoyed it. Price points were on par with other similar chains. I would recommend it.

A fellow Santa and his wife had dinner with me and my wife on Saturday afternoon 2/23/19 around 5:00 p.m. The restaurant was not busy and we were seated right away. They tried to put us next to a party of six and both my fellow Santa and I are on the "Large" size so we requested a table a little further away and they responded quickly. My friends ordered the large rib-eye steak to split as they usually do and it looked very good. My wife ordered the grilled shrimp with rice and a baked sweet potato all meals came with a salad.She enjoyed her shrimp but for the price I thought it was a little skimpy. She also had the ice tea at $2.99 a glass. I had the Chicken Fried Steak and steak fries. The steak was big but thin and the potatoes were pleantful and very good. However the breading on the steak had way to much baking powder and that is about all I could taste. I think our meals were a little over priced but it is a steak House. The service was very good although, I do not think we will be back any time soon..

As part of Landry's Select club we have wanted to try this restaurant and many of the others as part of the club. We ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken luncheon for $12.49 along with a side of Fries and non sweetened iced tea with a lemon. Carlos was our greeter and server and did a very good job. The chicken with the southern gravy was one of the best that I have had. We both left satisfied with the portion size and the flavor. We will bring our son and daughter to Saltgrass now that we know how good the food is. The menu selection was also very good and has a lot of selections to choose from on future trips.

I visited the restaurant in a party of 35. Although service was a little slow at times, the waiting staff coped pretty well with an almost constant stream of drinks orders from the assembled company. In between the drinks orders they somehow managed to serve some awesome steaks. I can't remember eating such a large and tasty fillet steak in a long time. If I could fault the restaurant at all, I would have asked for an extra server for such a large party. Overall, a great Texas experience.

Just like many others. Nothing new, nothing special. OK choices prepared well but nothing outstanding. Friendly and fast service, polite and informed wait staff. I had a salmon - it was fine. Dining partners opted for steak - again fine. But, really no different than so many others of this type.

The food was good and service was responsive to our needs. I enjoyed my baby back ribs and our daughter & son in law enjoyed their steaks (filet and surf & turf). My only complaint is that the music was too loud and lighting was dim making it too difficult for our elderly guests to read the small print in the menu.

Not sure why was made to wait for 30 mins plus for a table when at six parties of two who came after were seated ahead. Furthermore, there wete plenty of empty tables, the restaurant was only half full. The 16 oz slow roasted prime Ribs was devoured and washes down well with a house poured Merlot. As much as I liked the Roast Prime Ribs, the wait for seating leaves much to be desired.

We had such a nice lunch and waitress Sara was fantastic. I had the Soup & Salad that I enjoyed. Kay had a steak that got to take some home for dinner tonight.

I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita. They brought me a pink lemonade. I told the waiter and he replaced it with the correct drink. Then I found a bug in my margarita so they took it off the bill. My boyfriend got the pork chop. Very disappointing. It was still raw in the inside. They brought it back to the kitchen and finished cooking it. It was too late, that ruined it. We never received the salads that came with our meal. I mentioned it to the waiter and he said that it wasn't a charge they could take off the bill so I shouldn't worry about it. I was so aggravated it wasn't even worth asking for the manager. We won't go back.

Dinner with some friends, i started with the Avocado Crab Stack which was quite tasty, but huge! Followed by a Filet with Garlic Mash and Vegetables. The steak was cooked to my order and was good, the sides complemented nicely with a glass of wine to wrap up the dinner it was a good meal. My friends enjoyed their choices as well and the server was prompt and helpful.

We were looking for a decent restaurant close to our restaurant and happened upon Saltgrass. There were 6 of us and everyone was happy with their meal. Service was also great. I was staying down the street at Hilton for a work conference and we all went to dinner at the end of the day, I'm a story teller, knocked my wine over right after i got it. No problem, they gave me another glass!! That's good service.

Casual steak house with excellent food. Steak was perfectly cooked and great taste. Great servers who works as a team and attentive. Lastly size of dessert was crazy, but taste great. Be careful to your calories if you eat all of that.

Not bad, service was good but not stellar, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, just not as tasty IMHO as other Saltgrass I have been to. Pricing was fair. I may have been there on off night. The place is was very clean and in a nice area.

This was recommended by a Houston colleague neat eater. It was quite packed on a weekdays night. A good sign. All of us ordered different cuts of beef. I had the Ribeye medium rare doneness. And it did arrived as grilled to perfection. Su h a good cut of beef don't need fancy sauce to dress it up. Simply toss some sauce and pepper. Enjoy the pure bliss of each mouthful. Bill for one $42.75 before tips.

My family went to celebrate one day before Fathers day, to avoid the crowd, but the place was full . We ordered 3 plates of ribeye (12 oz) , mashed potatoes , chicken fried steak, Prime rib. The ribeyes were very good , tender and the way we liked it , delicious mashed potatoes, chicken fried was tender and tasty, but my daughter did not like the prime rib ,it had a lot of fat inside, also the vegetables were too crunchy for her taste. The service was ok, the waiter was pushing for us to get alcohol drinks, and made a face when we ordered only water, and also made a face when we did not order desserts. (we were too full to order them),

The waiter too our order and disappeared. We had to wait about 20 to 30 minutes for our food. Several different servers came buy to offer more drinks and bread. The coconut shrimp was great and the mac and cheese just like mom makes. I also love the potato soup. The prime rib was very fatty and tough. The blue cheese topping was on top but not melted.

My server, Nicole, was tremendous. She was prompt and attentive. I had their surf and turf - steak and coconut shrimp, with fresh vegetables and a wedge salad. Every morsel was delicious. Their pumpkin cheesecake with salted caramel and whipped cream was an excellent dessert, even if I didn't have room for it. Highly recommend.

service is good, quality of food is lacking. waitress was friendly. I would not suggest this steak house.

You can go to a fancy priced steak house and possibly get a better quality, but if you are looking for a moderately priced steak, Saltgrass is hard to beat. Saltgrass offers a decent menu selection, but to us the most important is we find them consistently prepared at all locations. Love the Crab Stack appetizer to start with.

Saltgrass is fading fast in quality, portions, and now, service. Table of 6 for late lunch his past Saturday, not crowded. Took forever for young man to bring drinks and bread, but even longer to take our order. We only had 1.5 hours to eat, and were almost late. After most of the table complained, I asked for the manager. I told her our problems, then pulled out my Landry's Club Card which had never been asked for, and she just hung her head. Terrible service, and the food, all but one order was SALAD, was very slow and not that good. Third strike at 3 different Saltgrass locations. It will be a long time before trying them again.Dear Mr. Fertitta...

After eating from one of their stall at the Houston rodeo we expected a lot more. They are apparently award winning at the cook off competitions, but this did not feel like it. Whilst the restaurant was a cool place to be, the food was mediocre. The deep fried mushrooms starter and deep fried onion starter was enough to feed four adults and was not the best I've had. The rib eye steak was smothered in unnecessary butter. For the price we paid, I'd expected more, which is a shame. Given that we were in Texas, I've had better steaks in Florida.

Service here has always been above average. There is a nice choice of steaks and seafood. Desserts are excellent. The menu is a little on the pricey side, in my opinion.

Four of us had dinner here early in February, 2013. I titled this review "surprisingly good" because the other reviews of this particular property were all less than 5-star, but our visit was definitely 5-star-plus. Parking lot was jammed -- usually a good sign. We were greeted warmly by the young women at the door, and shown promptly to a quiet corner table. The ambient noise is high, but that wasn't an issue at the table we were at. Our server walked by and said "I'll be with you in a moment" -- another good sign. When he arrived, he was enthusiastic and appreciative; we ordered drinks and an appetizer, which he brought quickly. They were out of Prime Rib, so the server suggested the Rib Eye. Dinner -- steak salad, chicken salad, and two steaks; all were delicious. The diner who had the Steak Salad kept saying "I can't wait to come back here and order this again...". And the Rib Eye that was the alternate to the Prime Rib -- excellent; tender, properly cooked, juicy, and with a little side (as requested) of fresh horseradish. The baked sweet potato was as good as we've ever had. Looking forward to another trip to Houston just to try this place again.

Went there with my 6 business associates, table was ready in a timely manner, our host was fantastic and the food was awesome. I always try to eat here when I’m in town.

Slid on here for a good Texas filet. No complaints but I could be sitting in the Outback at home in Atlanta or a Longhorn in Ft Lauderdale. Nothing special to make it stand out. Service was very attentive but other than that a good meal in an unremarkable restaurant.

I had a delicious meal at reasonable price. Nathan, my waiter, was attentive and helpful. Worth a second trip for me.No wait or fuss for me.

The meal was ok other than the server being clueless about the beer selection. The problem is that our car was broken into in the parking lot. Broad daylight, in the middle of a nearly empty lot. Thieves smashed a window and grabbed our bags. According to police there are break ins in this area every day. The manager tried to pull up video from exterior cameras, but there is a tree in the way. I have to give this restaurant a low rating due to the lack of effort in keeping their customers and property safe. I would recommend not visiting this restaurant until something is done to improve security.

The Hilton referred this restaurant to my party of 10. Wish I had the waiters name as he was just super. The menu had a good variety. I went for the steak which was done as I requested and just about more than I could eat. If in Houston, I would dine here again.

Good Tex-Mex meal that included everything at a reasonable price. Beer was happy hour $$. Waitress was efficient and on timely.

As I amble in, the wooden interior with many interesting stuff animals hanging on the wall, invoking a very country ambience. You gotta get beef here, which I had a very tender and juicy 16 oz. slow roasted medium rare Ribeye at $28.99. Enjoyed it very much. Came with either a soup or salad and one side.

As a visitor from UK we often find the size of servings in USA to be enormous. I had the 6oz steak and it was perfect.

We were in town for a conference. This was our last stop before heading to the airport. My daughter and I had eaten at one in Dallas, so we were hoping not to be disappointed here. We were seated right away. Ryan was our server for the afternoon. He was very knowledgeable of the menu. My husband had prime rib, my daughter and I both had ribeye. They were All delicious. Everything was prepared just as ordered. We had brownie cookie cake with ice cream for dessert. It was good as well. It was a little pricey for lunch but it was very good. After all, it is a steakhouse. However, they did have a steak and shrimp special from 4 -6 p. m. but we didn't want to wait that long.

Arrived to hotel hungry and tired after a long day of travel. Decided on the Saltgrass for proximity to the hotel and well...steak of course.. We arrived towards the end of the dinner service but the restaurant was still quite busy. The hostess seated us promptly and our server came right to our table. Our breads, appetizers, and dinners were delivered quite efficiently, and the steak was cooked to perfection, as ordered, and w a really great taste. Our server was helpful w suggestions, attentive throughout our dinner, and our experience was good. We will return when we are less fatigued to really savor a meal!

There were about 50 of us for dinner. I had the Filet Mignon, very well cooked medium rare. Veggies and mashed potatoes were quite salty for my taste. Service was good though a bit slow. Overall, nice experience.

On our last night in Texas, with an early morning flight, we wanted a steak but didn't want to go far from the hotel. We had heard that Saltgrass was a good chain and there was one about a 10 minute drive from our airport hotel. The restaurant was packed, but we were seated promptly and our delightful server, Kaleb, (yes, that is how he spells it!) showed up immediately for our drink orders. I had a filet with sweet potato fries - it was all delicious - and my husband had ribs and declared them the best ribs he has ever had with the exception of his own (and he IS the rib king around home! :-) Saltgrass hit the spot for a quick (but not rushed) meal when we needed an early night. Thank you, Kaleb and Saltgrass!

So i am a huge Landrys chain fan, but i did not pay attention that not every Salt Grass has the same menu and price - at least for lunch. Make sure to check for the best deals on their website.

Whenever I travel to Houston I always make sure to go to Saltgrass Steak House. Must try the Coronarita and Gulf Coast Steak & Shrimp! Food and service is Excellent! No complaints... EVER!

My husband and I visited Houston and our friends brought us here for dinner. None of us were extremely hungry so we didn't eat as much food as we would have liked :) I ended up ordering just two sides...the brussel sprouts and the garlic mashed potatoes and my husband ordered a steak salad. My potatoes and vegetables were delicious and my husband said he enjoyed his steak salad very much. If we lived in Houston, this would be one of our go-to steak places.

We had such a great meal here. All I wanted while I was in Texas was a giant steak, and they didn't disappoint. The porterhouse was amazing. And huge. The bacon wrapped quail, also to die for. Never liked brussel sprouts, but the ones they made here were edible. Wouldn't go out and buy a pound of them, but the ones on the plate were good. The service was great, and the bourbon also great. Desert was a little too rich, but after everything else we are, who cares. I would definitely go back.

i had over 900 points that disappeared. in may i tried to use these and was told they aren't accepting points due to covid 19 issues. last night when i tried to use i was told i had no points. this morning is the first time after dining at one of tillman's restaurants that i didn't get a survey. seems if you complain they erase you like you didn't exist. i asked for a scissors and cut up card.

I ate here on August 10, 2020. We met up with two additional families, and had a total of 12 guests. I had a "grilled pineapple margarita" which was delicious. I ordered the steak filet with sweet potato fries, and we had a fried mushroom appetizer. Some in our party ordered chicken, and one even ordered fish. Everything was excellent. My steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. If I had a complaint, the initial service was somewhat slow, but then it moved at warp speed. None of us was finished with our salad before the main course was delivered. Additionally, the front staff seemed very confused that we had made a reservation, and none seemed aware we were coming. I will eat here again. The food was really great, as well as the drink.

The food was cooked just how we wanted, great flavor. Our server Cassidy was awesome. It was a great experience. The décor was interesting, the workers were all friendly and made sure we had a good time and great food.

Tilman Fertita. Came out of nowhere. Graduated from Westchester in 1976. Within a few years had a controlling interest in Landry's. He set himself the goal of becoming someone. Now he owns a casino in Louisiana. Oh. The food at Saltgrass. It's consistent. Is it fabulous? No. For chain restaurant it's worth what you pay for it.

My friends raved about this place, so I was much interested in seeing/tasting for myself. They recommended the $25 steak and shrimp dinner, but I'm not usually too pleased when I order sirloin, so I opted for a two-taco meal with shredded beef for around $15. It was delicious! Service was also excellent; friendly, attentive and competent. No complaints.

Had prime rib with garlic mashed and salad, added mushrooms on top of prime, good fresh warm bread, prime was ok, for 2.99 was expecting a good amount of mushrooms, got 6, not worth the 2.99 they charge. May come back but won't go out of my way to go

That's right, Salt-Grass has a Gluten-Free menu now. Unfortunately, they have not come out with gluten-free bread to serve instead of their heavenly dough they place in front of you upon arrival. SaltGrass is always a great choice. The only reason I am giving them a 4 star instead of 5 is for the way they structure their lunch menu. **Be warned, their lunch menu items are not special in the least, they are just lunch portions. Smaller price = smaller portion. In fact, if you order the full dinner size, you are paying less per oz of steak than if you buy the lunch. So you are paying more just to be able to have a smaller portion.... Just seems like there is something wrong with that. Check out their gluten-free menu and of course, their mouth watering steaks. Enjoy!

Had Rattlesnake poppers, fried mushrooms and small ribeye. Steal was cooked properly and a good cut. Service was excellent and sever had a great attitude. There were 4 of us with 4 different checks, no problem. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for lunch. The margaritas were cold and large. My ribs were fall off the bone. Hubby’s potato soup was very good. I could t get enough of the Brussels sprouts. Service was efficient, timely and friendly.

Salt Grass Steakhouse has and likely will continue to stand the test of time. Houston is fortunate to have more than ten of the best steakhouses in America - with Salt Grass very near the top. I have dined at several of their Houston location since 1999 and have no plans to stop. I strongly urge everyone who loves filets, rib eyes, porterhouses, sirloins, and prime ribs, to add this restaurant to your "must attend" list.

My husband and I had the Filet Mignon with Mac and Cheese and the Rattlesnake Bites. Everything was delicious. Devin was our server and he was excellent. He was very attentive and courteous.

We were stuck at Houston airport with a 6 hour layover. Couldn't check in our luggage direct, no bag check and no restaurent. We uber-ed to the nearest steakhouse and we are glad we did. We had the bone in ribeye, prime rib and the mojitos are delicious! The service staff were kind to accommodate 2 customers with luggages! If we ever come by this part of the world, it'll be one of must do spots.

We went as a family and enjoyed steaks and a prime rib. All were tender and juicy. The green beans were fresh and cook tp al dente with a small brushing of spices. The baked potatoe was almost swimming in butter. We could have had a bit more broccoli, but we were content. The waiter was attentive and dinner was out after a short wait.

I always use Saltgrass for client meetings since I trust them to be excellent in both food quality and service. The steaks have real flavor and are always cooked to the exact temperature requested.

This is a good location south of 1960 and north of the airport. Good value for money. Positive location for a business meeting or family meal. Good selection from fish, ribs, steak and tacos. the wedge salad is a winner. Their service is excellent. Come in an visit.

Laid back steakhouse with great quality food and service is decent, my last trip left a bit to be desired ( I have waited tables, so Im a bit of a stickler) but the food definitely compensates for any issue I may have had on my visit.

4 of us had dinner here. Everything we ordered from the appetizers to our entrees was fantastic. Service was even better. Great place. Highly recommend.

Went there for a birthday party a group of 20 or so people took forever to order 2 hours later the food started to trickle out almost every order was incorrect drink refilling was non existent food was good but by the time it arrived everyone was so upset it didnt matter the small children were acting out from boredom dont even go there unless your very patient and have alot of time on your hands!!! Over priced. Under service!!

This place is great when it comes to food and customer service, it is NOT cheap but the quality of the steaks is supreme. They have the bread which is delicious and the time to prepare the food is fast. Recommended.!!!

We ate at the bar for lunch and other than the obnoxious couple beside us looking for attention....the service was wonderful as was the food.

My wife and I went to Saltgrass Willowbrook and had (2) Happy Hour Filet specials, chicken tortilla soup and a loaded baked potato. The steak was cooked perfect and could be cut with our spoon. The mac n cheese was delicious and the bartender was awesome and a huge Dallas Cowboy fan so we talked football for 2 hours. The bar was full and this is the place to be during Happy Hour as its fun and the drinks are great. The quality of food, attention to detail is always performed here as we are repeat customers. Another quality visit. Sure hope the Steak House soup comes back.

My grandson said he dreamed of steak. So, we decided to try Saltgrass Steak House. We arrived right after the lunch crowd, around 1:30. Henry was our server. He was like a mind reader, anticipating our every request. The food was really good. I've been to the one in Frisco, Texas. Not memorable. My grandson loved his steak. Not a steak eater, but he gave me a taste. It was tender and juicy. My husband had the shrimp platter. Loved the BBQ shrimp wrapped in bacon . The chicken tortilla soup with rice and corn was delicious. The star was the bread and butter. Sweet and moist, hot from the oven. Oh! The mango lemonade was so good.

The service was wonderful. Very personable and fast. Food was very good and very good portion size. Just a very enjoyable experience, nothing but great things about this restaurant. Wish they had one on the west coast.

I'm a Saltgrass fan so it's hard to say anything bad. Food is great (maybe sometimes ugly priced) but I've never been unsatisfied at SG! Salad, ribs, steak, burger... All fabulous! Service might not always be but who cares! The foods great!

My wife and I had July 4th lunch here with family. Looked at the menu and decided to order the baby back ribs. The waitress asked me if I wanted the lunch or dinner portion. I asked what was the difference. She said one or two. Since baby back ribs are always sold as 1/2 rack of full rack, I assumed I'd be getting a full rack. The menu did not mention 1/2 or full rack. When my meal arrived the amount of ribs was less than a 1/2 rack. Come to find out they sell the ribs by portions. In the last one I have had ribs at home and in another steak restaurant. The kitchen manager did make it right for me which I appreciated. Even though the menu did not mention 1/2 or full rack, the check had 1/2 rack on it. The portion was not a full 1/2 rack.

Perhaps I wanted a higher end steak experience in Houston. Generally enjoy the Pappa Bros but stayed too far from their location. Anyway asked at the hotel and they gave this place high compliments. Would have rather gone to an Outback. First the salads were loaded with cheese and were frozen cold. I swear the tomato was frozen. Next the filet mingon was not crispy or charred on the outside and had a mega lump of butter. It looked kind of grey on the outside, I get a better char on my home grill. The only thing truly tasty was some kind of beer bread. Never again, not worth the cheap price.

Spent my last night in the Houston area and stopped here fore dinner. Phenomenal steak dinner! It was cooked just right and paired well with my beer. Our waitress Q was one of the best waitress’s I’ve ever had! She was full of energy and incredibly welcoming! I will certainly come back again.

Great location, clean restaurant and great food. Friendly staff, quick service, great food taste. I much enjoyed their steak meal. I highly recommend this place.

First time eating at this establishment. Service was great and timely. We had the chicken and it was perfect.

When in Texas one must go and eat at a Texas Steakhouse. We tried the Saltgrass, it was conveniently located right next to the Freeway. It looked inviting from the outside, the inside was so so. I asked for a quiet table, we were seated and immediately both tables next to us were filled with people with babies. Not so quiet anymore. Service was haphazard, but the food was alright. Nothing big size Texan as expected but rather minuscule portions at inflated prices. We had the Sirloin and Shrimp lunch plate and a 12 oz Prime Rib. Arrived as ordered, but again really nothing special. Could have been at Denny's or Cocos. $ 55.00 for lunch was a tad high and they asked for a 20% tip. This did not include any drinks, appetizers or deserts. Well, at least we can say that we went to a Texas Steakhouse.

Was staying at Marriott North with the family and ordered to go from this Saltgrass. Just like every time I've been to any Saltgrass the food was absolutely great. The too go pickup want as smooth/ friendly as usual, but foods tops all.

We came here during an overnight layover at Houston Airport. We were on our way to Honduras with a big group, and as it was the first time in Texas for many of us, we decided to look for something that seemed very "Texan". This definitely fit the bill! There are animal heads and other memorabilia on the wall. We had made a reservation for a large group, and had to wait a bit for our table when we arrived. Once we got seated, the service was friendly and prompt. As we expected, the portions here were huge! We got a variety of steaks, seafood, and chicken. Everyone liked what they got. I got the coconut shrimp with a side of mac and cheese. It was delicious, and the portion of shrimp was massive! This was a fun, moderately priced place that would be good for families or large groups, maybe not so great for a romantic date ;)

Found the closest movie theater near my hotel and decided to have a nice dinner when it was over. I spotted this restaurant while leaving the movie location. A nice steak dinner sounded good so in I went. I liked the decor and layout when I walked inside. I was seated immediately and my server came quickly. I ordered the ribeye with sweet potato. It also comes with soup or salad. The steak and potato took up the whole plate and looked wonderful. It tasted great and I had to get a takeout box. I'm looking forward to my hotel leftovers. I took chocolate cake to go and sampled it in my room. It was good too. I highly recommend eating here.

If you visit Houston this is a local place that is worth trying , steaks are very good . Service is excellent and desserts are good .

We went in for lunch on a Sunday. We were welcomed by a friendly hostess. We were seat right a way. The service was great and fast. The food was great, steak tender and juicy. The potato soup was great.

We seemed to have a flightly, absent-minded waiter. He was a kind soul, just appeared to "need improvement." It took a long time (45 minutes for him to come and take our food orders once we got our drinks), therefore, we had to gobble down our salads, as the entrees were ready to be served before we finished. Very good food, overall. I was a little mislead, though, because I was told the brussel sprouts were brazed with onions, but I wasn't told that they are on a layer of sriracha sauce--thus, I was very surprised when my mouth started burning. I could not finish the brussel sprouts were as they were too hot and spicy. I would have ordered another side had I known how they were going to be served with this sauce. Everything else was satisfactory and I would return to this restaurant (chain) if I came across it again.

We were a party of 4 yesterday at 11am (lunch). The restaurant was not at all crowded. That's why we went so early. We ordered steak and sweet potatoes and each guest ordered soup. One of my guest had a Loyalty Card. He gave it and his debit card to a young (female) manager to update. She had previously said that it was not in the system. Ten minutes later, another manager (older female) brought both cards back, saying that he was not in the system. He just took the cards and said that he would fix it from home. This same manager, bumped me so many times in passing that my table began counting and I could not eat. No one received their sweet potatoes, some got white potato or broccoli. Aside form that, we WAITED for our food,; no orders were correct. None received soup or salad. We did get our drinks. The mango tea and mango lemon aid was awesome. This is a nice restaurant, but no place for a serious business lunch; extremely embarrassed.

Three of us were there on a Sunday at lunchtime. In spite of the place being packed, the level of service was excellent. The wait staff was very attentive and the food arrived quickly and with all the little "tweaks" we'd requested. Decor was very pleasant - lots of attention to detail, with a western theme. I had the Avocado Crab Stack, which came with a side of tostada chips, and I also ordered a side Spinach Salad (which was dressed with Blue Cheese dressing). This was the best meal I had while I was in Houston. Not only was the presentation a work of art, everything was seasoned perfectly, and all the flavors on each plate worked well together. My dining partners were also very pleased with their meals (the grilled chicken salad and the grilled salmon). I would definitely recommend this restaurant and it is the first place I'll head if/when I'm in the Houston area again.

Not only were steaks cooked exactly as ordered, but the service was excellent and attentive. The parking lot was full (good sign) but we were seated quickly without reservations.

Service was great, food was very good. Great little bar area, great for a drink or a quick bite. If you can get in by six, the ribeye special is $12.99.

Service was great. Went at lunch time. Lunch was just average. Steak sandwich was way too salty. Disappointing.

The service was exceptional! Menu for gluten free available. The items were extensive that gluten and corn free diners could eat. The jalapenos stuffed and salad with shrimp were wonderful. My husbands shrimp platter pleased him! Thank you for your understanding of dietary needs-appreciate it!

We visited this location during lunch time and our waiter Jerome was AMAZING! He was polite,funny, and on point. Our food from appetizer to drinks(plenty of alcohol) to entree was superb. The service was great and, in spite of expecting to take a to go box home for later, I ate everything I ordered because it was so good I couldn't stop! Try the Range Rattlers if you like a spicy appetizer, gulf shrimp and cheese stuffed jalapenos, very tasty! I would definitely go back if in the area again!

Arrived around 4:30pm and ordered the Queso and Chips the Queso was cold and had the bartender to reheat and the chips were stale. We decided to order the Bacon wrapped filet off the early bird menu only to be told that they had just sold out of the last one. We asked to speak to a Manager expecting that they could substitute for something else. We were told NO when they sell out that's it. We have been Landry Select members for years and have never been treated this way. We left without ordering food and we will never return to this location

So many delicious choices, steaks are always cooked to perfection and tender. Great atmosphere, service, music-can't go wrong. We go at least every two weeks. Much better than the 5 star Steakhouse down the street.

Walked down from the truck stop to have dinner. I have wanted to try this restaurant for many years and tonite is my chance!!! I am SO not disappointed! Incredible service with food that matches!!! I ordered the small Prime Rib- it nearly falls apart while you look at it- SO tender and juicy. I like mine Medium Rare. Never a fresher salad with a perfect baked potato to match!!! I gotta come back - and SOON!!!

This is a great place to come as a couple or even a group party of 25 - 40 . We attended May 31, 2025 for a birthday dinner. The place was clean and all the staff were very welcoming. A shoutout to Joe and Summer who assisted us throughout our stay. The food was tasty and appetizing. You cannot beat the prices they have on their menu. My husband and I cannot wait to visit again.

By contrast, Joe's Crab Shack next door had very few cars in its lot. I met people there for Friday lunch. Had to park in the back 40. Service was fairly prompt considering how crowded it was. Food was pretty good, although I didn't see a reason for the obvious popularity, considering the excellent meal I had eaten the week before just up I-45 at the Texas Roadhouse. I would have to call it very OK.

We had an excellent dinner at this steak house. My ribeye steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare. The place is pleasant and the service was correct.

Was looking forward to a nice ribeye steak. I had been running errands & was solo today 11 June. Didn’t have time to eat in, so was going to order takeout. Pulled up the menu on my phone. Almost everything on the menu (Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Sandwiches & Burgers) had prices listed, but the Steaks & Chops did not, go figure. So I just drove here to order in person. Hostess quite pleasant and said to go orders were taken @ the bar. Only a few people there early Thursday night. Looked @ the menu while bartender chatting with a couple of women. After standing in front of the guy for a few minutes he finally acknowledged me. I said I wanted to place a to go order & he pointed to his left saying they take to go orders in a room around the corner. Hmmm, the hostess didn’t mention that. So I went to the other room and a man was there with his kid. I figured he was waiting on his order. Nobody @ counter in the room. The man left for a moment, then came right back. I asked him if he’d placed his order yet and he said no, he was still waiting for someone to take his order. The bartender was still chatting with the women & the guy was a bit ticked off saying he’d been waiting for quite some time. So a serious lack of communication between staff members. I was annoyed & left. Bartender still had his eyes on the women @ the bar. I’ve always had great service here before. Trying to help a business out during Covid19, but Saltgrass you failed this time. Note to bartender: Just give them your cell phone # next time & do your job with the other customers.

We arrive a little after noon. The place was really busy but we were able to get a table right away. The service staff was very friendly and helful. All the food was prepared as ordered.

Saltgrass Steak House has a great menu, great service, and wonderful food! Steaks are seasoned and cooked to perfection.

We had chicken fried steak with baked sweet potato and salad. It was delicious and the waitstaff was friendly. The wait for a table was minimal. The surrounding neighborhood is not great in looks but the restaurant itself is clean and the food is great.

Our server, Tony was very entertaining but inefficient, at best. He was slow to get to us and delivery followed that same routine, this despite help from other servers. Everything was slow and he wasn’t attentive to our needs along the way.

Can always find a good steak here. Plenty to choose from, even for the non-steak eaters. Good service. Just don't go at prime time, it can get crowded and large. A good place for a large group.

Excellent Honey BBQ Ribs. very tasty and nicely cooked. The atmosphere was very nice and cozy with nice decorations. The service is excellent. I highly recommend this place for dinning.

The interior of this restaurant is done in an attractive cowboy theme. The high ceilings made the noise level almost deafening. Our waiter was excellent; the food - not so much. My steak [medium rare] was really tough. The salad that came along with dinner was nothing special. Maybe it's a Texas thing but I was surprised to see beer being served in the bottle with no glass being offered to pour the beer into especially since their website shows a bottled beer being poured into a frosty mug.

Dinner was so good followed by lunch next day. Great food and service. Plenty of seating and parking. Great atmosphere country and western setting.

We are Brits on a month long road trip across America and decided to stop to eat here at Saltgrass for the first time last night (24th Nov). Chuck was our server and we have to say he was brilliant. He gave us advice on the sizes of the steaks, what to have with it, etc. The bone-in rib arrived perfectly cooked, sizzling and mouth-watering. Chuck was fast and efficient and gave us some extra toppings for our baked potatoes. We felt very welcome and he is a credit to Saltgrass. We’ll definitely be going to Saltgrass on another location on our trip. Thanks Chuck!

Great food and service. I love the bread and honey butter-all you can eat! Steak was over cooked when it came out so they recooked entire meal without question, and second time around it was perfect as ordered! Love it and was close to IAH so it made for a great send off before heading home!

Everything was prepared perfectly. Portions are very generous. Nice, casual atmosphere. Would welcome a return trip in the future.

This is a very elegant place but you can dress casual good food if absolutely heavenly they give you warm bread when you come in the appetizer I suggest the crab cakes two big lump crab cakes with lump crab meat on top and a buttery sauce on top my granddaughter had stuffed jalapenos with shrimp and cheese entrée she had BBQ ribs that fall off the bones I had a filet mignon that was cook perfect garlic mashed potatoes the waitress was very attentive and let's not talk about the strawberry lemonade made just right it is made fresh every glass I hope you have a chance to go there you will not be disappointed if I could I will give them 20 Stars

Great place to eat if you are traveling for work. The bar was large and the bartenders were very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered the Chicken Laredo and it was delicious. I was staying at the Springhill Suites just up and the road and the location couldn't have been more convenient.

We stopped here late in the evening and our service was as good as if it had been earlier. Great atmosphere, good food, fun decor. Would eat here again!

Steak was cooked perfectly! Veggies could have been cooked a little longer but then I like mine a little crispy. Salad very fresh.

I showed up at 12:10. The place was packed. Since I was dining solo I say at the bar. I ordered the Hickory Chicken with steak fries. It was amazing. I have never had chicken taste so tender. The combination of caramelized onions and mushrooms with the bbq sauce was great. The bartender was hopping and moving fast. He did great and never missed a beat. His name is Fletcher. Plan on waiting if you show up at lunch or dinner. Get there early. Highly recommend.

Please try the bacon wrapped chicken with shaved brussels sprouts, awesome. Service was friendlyand fast. I would definitely dine there again, whenever in the area.

Melt in your mouth prime rib, over the top service, friendly staff who coordinate delivery simultaneously to each diner at the table... what more can I say!! It's a little on the pricey side, but well worth every bite. (Can't believe I ate the whole thing.)

A great place to have that special meal. I had the chicken dish while my wife had the Blackened Fish. Both were exceptional. First a shrimp cocktail with nice large shrimp and wine for the misses and a cocktail for myself started an enjoyable evening. Would recommend to anyone for any occasion.

This is a great Saltgrass. I had the 10z rib eye which was juicy and full of flavour. Being from the UK I was not familiar with the beers on tap but Ashley behind the bar gave me a couple of samples to help me choose. Great food, great service in a relaxed atmosphere.

The dinner was great, the service was good, and the company was fabulous !! All kinds of good food, and not to crowded. I would recommend Saltgrass as a great place to eat !

Saltgrass was close to my iI dropped in for dinner. From the initial greeting I felt something was just off here. After finally being seated, one of the servers came to my table and barked out "drink?" Ino greeting or warmth. I asked for iced tea to which she responded roboticly with their flavors of tea. The next thing out of her was mumbled but was "bread?" Yes, thanks. My waiter was equally disengaged telling me about the special of the evening. The food was OK which is lower than I would have expected at this place. I started withthe steak soup which was watery and lacked taste. The prim rib was OK. Y' all come back and see us soon... not likely. There has to be better in Houston.

Found this steak house in the AAA travel book and what a find. Clay was our very fun, attentive waiter who made the meal more Texan! Took his advice and drank local beer, Shiner Bock. Saw my first CoronaRita drink and that looked interesting! Our meal started off with Range Rattlers, a jalepeno stuffed with shrimp and shrimp ($9.99) Wow! Gulf shrimp so good I then enjoyed it as my dinner entree ($17.99). Hubbers ordered a Top Sirloin with Shrimp ($20.99). Salads were included but Clay recommended the Wedge Salad - a favorite of his! Recommend this steak house if anything to see the taxidermy work that decorates the walls! Have fun!

They were offering an early bird special when I was there in February. I vowed to try it if they were still offering it the next time I was in town. The special was a sirloin steak and shrimp for 12.99. My daughter and I both had the special. One with grilled shrimp and the other one with fried. The steaks were cooked perfectly and in a timely fashion. The shrimps were good as well. Perfect portion sizes for an early dinner. Our server Andy did an excellent job of keeping our glasses full and seeing if we needed anything. I was well pleased with the special and will definitely try it again the next time in town

Thought we shouldn't leave Texas without eating steak. We found Saltgrass as part of a larger network of restaurants that had impressed us in other food categories, so we decided to try it out. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the food. Given a choice in the future between this and the better-known national chains, I'd choose elsewhere. (I will say that the service was excellent, perhaps we just chose the wrong menu items.)

Stopped in late on a Saturday night and got great service and great food. Very quick service and friendly people

I was excited to try this steakhouse in Houston. It looked really good form the outside. I was with a small family group of 5 (4 adults and a child). We ordered, but when the food came out the 3 servers who were tossing the food on the table had no idea who ordered what, apparently communication not a strong suit here. One of the adults entre was missing. The waitress cheekily said it would be out in 2minutes and 15 seconds. We waited..... fifteen minutes and we had to look for our waitress (Priscilla) who said "oh right let me check on it.. another ten minutes and I was forced to find a manager. Every one else was finished with dinner but Manager did come through with an upgraded steak. To make it up the Manager offered a desert. When the check came were charged for the desert. The waitress had no Idea so again we had to find a manager. The first being already gone. All that said the food was OK but not worth suffering through the inept service staff, who are more interested in clearing a table than actual service. Don't embarrass yourself with a client dinner here, retraining in basic service and Management communication definitely needed !!

This was a last minute decision for dinner but it was a winner. The staff was friendly and the food delicious. The kids chicken sliders make for a significant meal. Highly recommend the Chicken Laredo and Steak with garlic butter. If you're gluten free be sure to ask for their gluten free bread.

Had the sirloin and it was fabulous - perfectly cooked and nice and juicy. Had the Caesar salad and finished every bit. It had just enough dressing and none left over. Avoid having pepper added (they will ask at the table) until you taste it as the dressing has a bit of a kick (tiny one) and the pepper might make it a bit over what one might like. I and a friend found it just right the way it is served. Nice service also, but you almost don't care as the steaks are really nice.

It's a very Texan atmosphere. The wait staff was friendly with lots of energy. I would recommend the steak salad.

Good, attentive service. Fairly reasonable drinks with a decent selection of beers and wines. I liked the ambiance - true to the theme of a TX steak house - but not over the top. Food was truly tasty.

Grabbed lunch with some friends. They go there for lunch often & the waiters know them. The food was good, our waiter was fun & gave excellent service. **the steaks come with onion rings/onion strings, so don't order that as your side too like I did. Lol just a little too much onion. Didn't realize it came with the entree.

The wait to have my son & I seated was NONE. The waiter came shortly after to take our orders & he took really well care of us. He wAs super professional. He even brought us a pitcher with water & a pitcher with sprite incase we wanted refills. He checked up on us a lot. He was awesome! He definitely deserved a large tip! I’m definitely going back soon!
