Amazing meal.

By The4Monkeys |

Had a 5 star experience with friends and family. Service from Dane and team was world class. View of downtown Seattle at night was unreal. The clams were done perfectly, the scallops, New York steak and salmon Caesar were perfectly prepared. The crème brûlée was to die for and the coffee hot and flavorful. Will definitely be back because it was a rare high end experience and nothing but praise.

Not Just That View!

By Mike4TraveI |

On the west side of Seattle a short water taxi ride from the other side of Seattle. For starters a beautiful view of the Seattle skyline. Brody our server was personable and spot on with her recommendation of the oysters and the king leg entree which Andrea and I shared. For dessert, we indulged in the white chocolate mousse cake. It all was good. A little pricy but worth it especially given the generous portion.

compared to others SALTY's rules

Best Crabcakes AND Buffets!!! We go here for a fabulous meal. We are NEVER unsatisfied...Other restaurants every place we go is not as good. So, even a place like Palm Springs finest. Names will remain unmentioned!

Great view, exorbitant prices, poor service

By Yoram_and_Laurie |

The Seattle view is magnificent. The food is good, not great. The prices are exorbitant for the level of food and especially for the poor service. We planned a trip to the west coast and made the reservations more than 3 months in advance. Coming from the other side of the continent we requested an outside table near the edge (hand rail) to take in the view. When we arrived we were given a table inside. We asked for a table outside and were shown to the worst table (downstairs in the back), while a table at the edge was sitting empty. We asked about that table and the host went off to consult somebody. After a pretty long time he came back and with an air of special favor or exception allowed us to move to the table at the edge. So why weren't we offered that table, which was what we had requested, from the start? It then took a very long for our rather aloof and not very friendly server to arrive. Looks like management figures no need to try hard but can charge a fortune since they will come for the view. The opposite of hospitality.

Good fish and nice walk

By C L |

This is an excellent place for friends or family, especially people from out of town. It is located on the west side of the sound and has a full view of downtown Seattle. The beach road also is great for a long walk. Salty's fish is well known in Seattle. So you will get good food and a nice walk after the big meal. However, the parking lot is small, so it may be difficult to find a slot. Suggest carpooling there or taking a water taxi there from downtown Seattle.

Awesome oysters

Wow, Best oysters of my life. Really had a wonderful Late lunch here overlooking Seattle. Great service and so yummy. Delish

Memorable first meal for our trip

Excellent food and service. Our waiter, Stu was very attentive and informative. Gave us a great tip to go see the new troll! The view is perfect and we brought sunny weather with us !

Wonderful dinner with fantastic view

By ymt888 |

We had dinner here and was seated next to the window, showing us lovely views of Seattle skyline. Food was excellent as well as the service. Food arrived promptly. We ordered fresh oysters, sushi roll, Coco prawns, Fish & Chips, Prawn n Lobster Bucatini, and Chowder bowl. Our server was really thoughtful and has the initiative to spilt the chowder into 3 small bowls for us. Our favorite is everything except for the sushi roll, which perhaps should be taken out of the menu. Nevertheless it was a perfect evening dining at Salty's.

Fabulous!!

By Cindy H |

Food, Service, views were perfect. They provided a shuttle from our hotel and back - extra bonus. There was some confusion when we arrived - we had reservations but still waited about 30 minutes. We were approached with "are you ??? for 2? your table is ready" We were seated outside with a beautiful view of the skyline. Josh was our waiter - very good and friendly. We were mostly finished when Josh brought out the manager and the woman who sat us. They wanted to confirm we were happy with the meal and evening as they had 'lost us' in the busy-ness of the night. We never found out what really happened but we guess that when they asked if we were the ?? party of 2 it may not have been our name they asked for - it was very noisy in there. I guess we were seated where someone else should have been but when our table was ready they couldn't find us. As mentioned, we really don't know what happened but it was handled professionally by the staff and it was nice to meet the manager. Food was fabulous!!

Phenomenal Food and Service

By Terry W |

The food and service was top notch. We were there during salmon season and lucky enough to have butter salmon. YUM! There is nothing like it! Our waiter, I wish I could remember his name, was phenomenal! He made us laugh, was very informative, and was able to recommend drinks based on our likes.

Favorite spot during our entire visit!

By taylor_1217 |

We LOVED our evening at Salty's! Not only do you get incredible views of the city, but the food and service was second to none. So happy we made reservations and requested a table outside on the patio. This was truly an oasis! Ask for Mary, and you won't be disappointed! The wine was incredible and featured some great deals. The Manager stopped by and chatted with us for a bit, which is always a nice touch. They didn't seem irritated to serve tourists at all, which we felt in some other places in the city. The staff was so welcoming! Our group ordered oysters, crab cakes, and several varieties of salmon and were all blown away by how much we ate.. it was so delicious. We ordered the oreo cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert - be ready to take a to-go bag home for your desserts, but they were well worth it! Lovely experience, and we cannot wait to go back next time we're in Seattle.

The View!

By Amy B |

We were from out of town and didn't realize this was a high end restaurant. So heads up to dress a little nicer. We ate there in jeans and sweatshirts and were fine but definitely felt underdressed. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The food was quite good. And the view of Seattle at night was amazing. Good restaurant for a special occasion or date night.

Bereavement Dinner

By Julie N |

The day our beloved mother passed we followed her plan by celebrating her in a unique way. She loved the water so we felt Saltys would truly honor her. The general manager greeted us with sincere condolences. Our waiter had suffered the loss of his mother and had compassion and understanding. We laughed, we cried and we felt well cared for by the staff. Though our loss is great, Saltys was the best find.

An amazing First Visit to Salty's!

By jeff c |

We were in from out of town to cruise Alaska. My brother surprised my wife and I with lunch at Salty's on Alki while waiting to check into our room. We did arrive rather early and had parked in the southeast parking lot. My wife, being the wandering soul that she is, wandered off. She called a few minutes later to tell us that there is a park with a pier to the north west of the restaurant! we spent the remainder of the waiting time on the pier watching tugs push and pull barges around the sound. My wife and I found everything about Salty's to be wonderful. Seating was great with a view of Seattle and boat traffic on the sound. Hostess was friendly and efficient. The wait-staff was outstanding. the atmosphere and ambiance of the facility is warm and inviting. The food was wonderful.

Brunch!!

By Rosiegirl2 |

This is THE place to go for brunch in Seattle. Plan on spending a while there. This place has everything you could possibly think of for brunch; amazing seafood, carved ham and beef, made-to-order omelettes, crepes, pasta, breads, salads, hot dishes, and desserts including two kinds of fondue. The view of Seattle’s skyline is stunning and the customer service was top notch. It is pricey, but worth every penny!

Unwinding

By Jazzierose1 |

First visit foe me the views are so spectacular in the evening hours!!! The service was amazing and the pasta dishes we had were delicious!

great views of downtown!

By sergio513 |

We enjoyed dinner at Salty’s. Oysters, chowder, fish and chips, tacos, skewer of prawns. All tasting delicious. A humongous portion of black forest chocolate cake was plenty for four people.

Sunday brunch was fantastic! Don't miss!

By JKB |

We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday brunch, with tons of fabulous food including crab, oysters, roast beef, ham, seafood chowder (so good!), salmon, and much, much more. Heck, I didn't even have any eggs! The brunch tables are laid out in beautiful settings, which is a feast for the eyes. Service is impeccable. Book early reservations - right when they open - to get a window seat with a tremendous view of the city.

An amazing breakfast buffet...

By Joseph E |

I could detail all the wonderful and delicious offerings at the breakfast buffet, but I would be tying all night! In summary: This is an excellent stop if you want to splurge, the view on a clear day is terrific, and it was certainly worth the experience.

Dinner

By lucyballs1 |

You simply cannot beat Salty’s for their superb food, attention to detail, quality of food, service and wonderful ambience. Four of us had dinner, wonderful table looking at the water and Seattle directly across the water...beautiful. We started with a huge seafood appetizer, complete with oysters, ahi tuna poke, large prawns, seafood dish and fresh Dungeness crab legs. It was not cheap but fully worth it-delish!! We ordered a basket of excellent fresh made bread with a wonderful butter they mixed with salt and herbs. That was to go with our clam chowder, another excellent choice. Everyone agreed that the entres we all had were the best we’ve had. From scallops, salmon to halibut. Everyone raves. I had the halibut and it was to die for...so fresh and perfectly cooked...was like butter. We then had two desserts to share, both excellent! I can recommend those as well, the baked Alaska was so superb and not like any other...it was out of this world with a good brandy lit over top. They are known for their white cake with raspberry coulee- and it is excellent! Everything was impeccable, good quality food with the best attentive service. Yes, pricey but boy you get what you pay for and more!! Highly recommend!

Vacation Seattle Washington 2020

By Christina R |

Loved this stop, great food and service prices for area were good we had a late lunch on a Tuesday no lines. Prices $$ they have a small menu but it was lunch and if you dont like fish they do have other options if your vegan they do have salad. But the fish is what you are going to want to eat here. The fish is fresh, the special comes in that morning. We had a waiter from Omaha NE super friendly and funny! Great service, seen seals while setting in restuarant and that was great, was the only place we seen them and we even went to a few beaches.

Great choices, great view

By N D G |

Took family in from the UK - loved the views, the ambiance and that everyone can choose any type of seafood that they want with such a wide selection.

Come For the Views, Food, and Service!

By DublinTraveler |

A gem in Alki to see Seattle at night (or day) and enjoy amazing food and deserts! The staff is very professional and friendly. Make a reservation ahead of time to reserve a table by the window. You will not be disappointed!

Good food.... amazing views

By zhardy4 |

Food was good. Amazing views of downtown Seattle. It isn’t a fancy restaurant but we enjoyed the meal and views.

Great Brunch and great view!

By Faye S |

Third time at the weekend Brunch and it was great each time! Everything that has been said by others that is good, you can believe it! The service, the ambiance, the view, and, of course, the food options and taste...all great! It is expensive but worth it for a special treat or to make out of town guests feel the love! The GM, Chris Darst, stopped by our table and was very nice! We enjoyed speaking with him and felt his genuine concern to ensure that we had a great experience! My son was with us from out of town and was thoroughly impressed with everything! He also loved the bloody mary self serve bar! Overall the workers seem to enjoy working there because they are full of smiles and very helpful! The variety of food options is amazing and all very good! Tips: definitely make a reservation, and if it's near a holiday timeframe, make reservation as far in advance as possible. Hopefully you will get a window seat or on a nice day ask to sit outside on the patio to enjoy the amazing Seattle view!

Phenomenal view and great food!

By tmf7150 |

We were lucky to get service without reservations late on a Saturday in August. The view is amazing. We were able to watch the sunset and see the city sky line at night. The server was great! The food was wonderful, but the dessert topped it all...White Chocolate Mousse Cake with Raspberry Coulis. We had a wide variety of food seafood chowder, seafood skewers, seafood pasta (Lobster and Prawn Bucatini), filet and seafood salad (Louie Louie). Everyone enjoyed their food! Great experience! Highly recommend.

Disappointing anniversary dinner

By jenkemm |

We made early reservations for our 18th anniversary, on a Monday, so I was a bit surprised at having to wait 25 mins for a table for a table when I had early evening reservations. I worked at and got engaged at Salty’s, so it once held a special place, so I called to requested a patio table explaining why, was told it would be no problem, once there I was told I would have to wait an extra 30 minutes (so 55 minutes total waiting, with a reservation) so we did not wait. No apology was made have to wait nearly a half hour with reservations or change in plans from outside by any staff member. The wait seemed to be the norm so come prepared to wait even if you make a reservation, our reservation appeared to give us no actually priority to wait time as the couple in front of us had no reservations and were still sat before us. Now I worked at Salty’s in the 90’s, this would not have been acceptable. If you aren’t managing your reservation system why have one. The waitress was very nice but completely clueless. She brought the wrong dish more than once, as in I ordered prawn skewers (even pointed at the menu) but she brought coconut prawns. She left them, which is fine, but also charged us for both the skewers and the coconut prawns I never ordered. The same happened with a drink and our soup. Now I’d have asked her to take it off but she just never came back. I had given her my card when I asked for the bill so didn’t see it until after we were charged. I also waited 15 mins for a coffee refill that never came and ran out of patience to wait to have her correct the bill. Again, she was very nice, but just not around when needed. I get in the time of covid staff doesn’t hover like they once did, but if you tell me you’ll being me more coffee I expect you to actually bring it The food was great, it always is, as is the view. Salty’s had always been a favorite but I doubt I’ll be back or recommending it as much as once did. Not sure it’s worth the hassle at this point.

They're Fries Jim, But Not As We Know Them

By FiftyFifty5050 |

We are visiting from the UK, where traditional Fish & Chips is very popular. Hands up, I am not a fan of it, but was suitably intrigued to see how a place like Salty's, with all the hype around it, might present it. The first hurdle, as it often is in the Seattle area - the price. We just couldn't bring ourselves to pay $25 for two pieces of fish with chips, even with the great view but, as we were there etc, I asked for a portion of chips (fries) to take out. All Brits look away now please, because in the spirit of honesty, I have to admit how much I paid for a portion of chips - $6.61 (that's about £5.29) - I know! That said. The fries were piping hot, served in a large cardboard tray (generous two servings), with the bottom lined with foil, to keep things hot, and a plastic lift off lid; all served in a brown paper carrier bag. We went outside and found a bench looking across the sound to the city skyline, and tucked in. There was some kind of savoury coating on the fries, not quite 'southern fried' but something along the lines of it and far more delicious that the traditional salt and vinegar back home. The coating made the fries, which were thin and flat, lovely and crispy and very moreish. If you are a fan of vinegar soaked, soggy, floppy British chips, then these are definitely not for you, and you would feel hard done by with the price to boot but, if you are more of a crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inner, then you will love them and, by the time you have got to the bottom of the tray (and, readers, we surprised ourselves by being able to achieve that) you will have forgotten what you had to fork out to buy them.

Feels like this restaurant stop evolving long time ago and stuck in 90's.

By Christy |

The only nice about this restaurant is the view. We came here during restaurant week and It was big disappointment. Payed $150 for subpar dinner and I can't imagine to pay $300. Not only dishes have lack of presentation but my fish was soaked in some sauce to cover up proper cooking and lack of flavor. Clam chowder is very thick and doesn't taste great. Feels like this restaurant stop evolving long time ago and stuck in 90's. Everything from decor, to food choices to presentation of the dishes. Steak was super cheewy. I can't imagine to go for full price and pay for that dinner. Our selection of dessert wasn't available instead we were offered tequila ice cream that was super tangly and sugary. I don't think I would come here again.

Delightful dining for the whole family.

Truly outstanding restaurant. Excellent service staff. Our meals were perfection, all of them. We were a group of twelve including young children and were treated well.

Great view / oysters

By Bill O |

First visit since many meals 20 years ago. The ambiance has dated with not many upgrades that I noticed. Ordered oysters on the half shell, and they might have been the best I’ve tasted. The entrees were prepared as ordered. I give it 4 out of 5.

Great Views and Food

By GinaF F |

Beautiful spot. Arrived at 6 pm and had a great outdoor seat. Took our time so we could watch the Seattle skyline light up once the sun went down. Food great! Service awesome! We even watched a tug boat turn a big ship around.

Absolutely amazing

By David W |

After traveling to Seattle for a seafood to were on night four we went to Saltys. Even after eating seafood 3 nights in a row prior to this this was by far the most amazing seafood I have tasted on the West Coast. From the appetizers to the deserts there was nothing that was not considered amazing in my eyes

Very good food

By Dgn1010 |

Really beautiful ambience in this building. We sat outside in the heated and covered area which gave us views of the bright city skyline. Waiter so very friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous, maybe a little pricey but then I guess you are paying for high end food. The caramel apple cheesecake was phenomenal. Was disappointed to see when I got home they had added 4% to my bill, I had tipped $30 anyway but this didn’t sit well with me. Nice visit otherwise.

Beautiful View

By 1991KEB |

First and foremost it is a beautiful view of Seattle. Our server, Marine, did a great job. The food, especially the Salmon, was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. There was plenty of parking. The meal was expensive so be prepared.

Excellent service!!

By Elisa M |

We had John as our waiter and he was super service minded and knew a lot about the food. He provided excellent service. The food was extraordinary especially the oystores. The bartender Mori was extremely helpfull ordering a car when our taxi didn't show up. The restaurant had a great view over Seattle skyline. We definitely recomend.

Great combination of view, food, and service

By Kespecial7 |

We had a great experience @ Saltiy's Alki location- great view of the sound and city, and could also see Rainier out the other window Scenery aside, both the food and service were excellent

Nice place even though front desk guy was cranky, unhelpful

By Atlroadie |

We showed up without a reservation on Wednesday night at 7:15 and were told that they were no longer accepting walk-ins which was very disappointing, especially since there were many seats and tables available. We eventually had to sit at the end of the bar for dinner but the bartender took great care of us. We enjoyed the food but our visit wasn’t as good as we had hoped since we couldn’t enjoy the waterfront views of downtown Seattle.

Loved it!!!

By John S |

The boss and I arrived in Seattle for work and he brought me to this place as he knew I would like it. Let me see the view is spectacular. When you look out the windows of the restaurant you get the downtown Seattle skyline all lit up in the evening. We started off with Dungeoness crab dip and a very nice bottle of Tamarack Cellars Merlot. He had the shrimps and prawns for dinner and I had the seafood cioppino. I can’t speak for his dish but mine was two thumbs up. It was a seafood lovers dream with salmon, cod, shrimp, calamari, mussels, and a wonderful broth. If I come back up this way I definitely want to come back to this restaurant. Very enjoyable evening.

Great Views and Great Food!

Happened upon this restaurant by accident. Had a wonderful seafood lunch on the deck overlooking Elliott Bay with the Seattle skyline in the background. Could not top this!!

Excellent seafood with beautiful view of City

By Rosendo M |

Classic seafood restaurant in west Seattle, with excellent view of the City across the bay.Nice ambience, soft atmosphere, well serve and good variety of fresh seafood availability.Definite a must if in town and a seafood lover.

Fabulous!

By SouthernSoul P |

This is the restaurant to go to when you're celebrating a special occasion. The atmosphere is perfect, the food is delicious, the service was excellent, and the view of the Seattle skyline was amazing. I highly recommend going at night. We had two small children in our party (a two and a three-year old - yikes!) and the restaurant was accommodating - the grandkids were angels. (smile) There was complimentary valet parking and we got our car pretty fast. The prices are a little high but you get what you pay for. It was a wonderful experience.

It was the Best!!!

The view was extremely beautiful. My sever was very kind. it's very clean inside and out, the food was thourougly cooked, and their food tastes amazing

Birthday celebration!

By VirginiaPartyof4 |

I cannot say enough good things about Salty’s on Alki Beach! We reserved a table for my daughter’s birthday after a number of fantastic recommendations from friends across the country. When we arrived, they had covered the table in birthday confetti and had a staff-signed card waiting. The service was superb, the views magical and the food...simply divine. Thank you for helping to create a spectacular birthday for my girl!

Beautiful view and great food

By Captmark20 |

What a great restaurant. The service, the food the atmosphere what more can you ask for. We had the fresh salmon dinner special. It was fantastic as was the 1836 roll we had for an appetizer.

Best view of Seattle

By ABZ |

I had made reservations a few weeks back to celebrate our first date at Salty's back 31 years ago. We started out on the deck with a nice bottle of wine. I had asked the hostess/host to hold a window table and told him about our anniversary. 2 hours after we finished our wine we asked about our table... We were then escorted to our table. So disappointed... a small table right by the waitress station and the passage way for guests walking by our table every 5 minutes... REALLY??? -Great service from our waiter! -Delicious menu items excpet Cesaer salad was so bland ... -over priced food items... for example $60 for salmon which is local and abundant! It's more of a tourist trap and no real personalized service. Very disappointed!

Crab impersonating as lobster 😂

By Dominic H |

First of all Great views! Service was not bad too. Unfortunately prices don’t reflect quality or proportion of food. We went to order drinks while waiting for our table and told happy hour drinks then had to be drank only at the bar and not taken to our table. Really? Felt we had to drink up! The oysters arrived and were the tiniest I’ve ever seen and tasteless. They charge for bread which I’ve never heard of. The portions are very small. My sisters lobster and prawn linguine has no lobster but crab and very few shrimp and was so spicy (too much chilli) couldn’t be eaten so when replacement came there was no spice and flavourless. Manager insisted it was lobster in pasta but I saved a long crab leg which they quickly discarded. I’m not one for complaining but when you spend over $300 for an evening you expect quality and not crab impersonating as lobster. 🙄

Beautiful spot

Excellent dinner , beautiful views of Seattle. Food was above average, service was quick and well educated.

Great food, great food - manager does not

By Danielle C |

I will be cross posting this review as I feel everyone should know the way Chris the manager treats his patrons. I want to prefix this review with saying that I have been coming to Saltys for many years. My parents moved to Seattle a couple years ago and I introduced them to Saltys. I have brought many friends, and family, to Saltys since I have resided in Seattle for the last 14 years. The view is absolutely stunning. The food is always delicious. And the service is always top notch. It has always been worth coming over on the water taxi for special occasions throughout the years. Today, we came to celebrate my two nephews birthdays. They do not live nearby and we ran out of time to come by their last visit. I promised them we would go this year. It was all they talked about the last year leading up to it. The meal was great, the food was cooked perfectly and the kids felt special with everything our server, Cameron, did to make their birthday celebration special and memorable including a huge slice of cake that both boys finished even after eating a very large meal. It was perfect. Until the bill came. Back in January I purchased gift cards directly on Salty’s website. This gift card totaled $300 dollars. It was my way of budgeting for a special meal ahead of time. Of course the bill was more than that, as we expected. My father was willing to cover the rest. Come to our surprise only $50 dollars came off with the gift card, over $400 then charged to my father’s card. We bought this up to Cameron who got the manager right away. The manager told us it only had $50 dollars on it, I explained no, I paid $300 and this was the gift card that was sent to me and he then went and got another manager. This is when our experienced turned into the worst experience we have ever had anywhere. Chris came over with instantly verbally attacking me, telling us it had $50 dollars and he “hopes we were not scammed” and I asked by who? He then said again it was $50 dollars and he’s not about to give us another $250 dollars. I said you would not be - I paid $300 dollars for this gift card and would expect to have what I paid for. At this point I had all my emails pulled up, of when the order was placed, when it was processed and when it was shipped - all saying it was $300 dollars. I also had my credit card statement pulled up showing I paid $300 dollars. He said none of that mattered since on his side it shows $50 dollars. He started yelling at me telling me to watch my tone, and that he did not appreciate the way I was talking to him and he then said he will call the cops on me and accused me of fraud. This, rightfully and expectedly, caused the entire situation to escalate even more. I again attempted to explain what I have to show I purchased it for $300, and this time I was not happy whatsoever. He tried to tell me he has no way of knowing I purchased it from them on their website directly and again threw out fraud. I replied the only fraud that would be happening is on their end since everything I have shows I paid $300 dollars and he is saying I only had $50. Eventually, Dawn, who I believe was the restaurants accountant came down who was extremely nice and instantly calmed my entire mood down because she was truly listening to me and set the tone that she was going to figure this out. She did not accuse me or anyone at my table of fraud, she did not accuse me or anyone at my table for having a tone. She deescalated the situation that Chris created. I showed her my emails, she wrote down the order number and dates of every email I received. I offered to show my credit card statement as well but she said she had enough information to figured it out. And she did. She was able to pull up everything and came to the possible reason of what happened and that is the call center put the wrong gift card in my envelope that was mailed to me. So someone possibly got $300 dollars when they only paid $50 - I hope if that is the case they enjoy their meal. Dawn made the adjustments on our bill to correctly reflect the gift card we purchased as well as took an additional $50 off from the gift card we received. She handled the situation with care, and with professionalism- something Chris the manager severely lacked. She invited us back which we politely declined as we will never step foot back in this restaurant after the way Chris treated me. I will also never recommend this restaurant to anyone. As we were leaving my nephews had many questions but even they saw and said Chris attacked me verbally and threatened to call the cops on me for no reason. They agreed although the meal was great, and Cameron and Dawn were great, Chris was enough to never want to come back.

Not cheap - great service although somewhat rushed

By Craig D |

This is a good restaurant for seafood and views of the Seattle skyline. We had a great waiter who explained the menu and kept our water glasses full and plates cleaned away. My only quibble was that the entrees came very fast while we were still eating salads and chowder. Food was good all around.

Excellent seafood dishes

By aok47 |

Excellent appetisers and entree seafood dishes. I had the halibut on lobster risotto and it was divine! Great views of seattle CBD

Great restaurant with lovely view

By AprilFool27 |

Very nice restaurant on the water with great service. It is an easy water taxi trip from downtown Seattle as the restaurant is right next to the dock. The portions were plentiful and well prepared. Service was excellent - friendly and attentive. We were celebrating a birthday and they had confetti on the table when we arrived. Dessert was on the house. We had calamari appetizer and shared the mixed grill. The salmon and the creamy polenta were especially good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Add in the 4% surcharge,

By Wander14525983421 |

The seafood is fresh, presented beautifully, and loved our outdoor table with protection from wind and sun so we're comfortable. Staff very helpful for our allergies, and we felt able to stay as long as we wanted. Downgraded one star for both the surcharge, and for not showing it, or at least only in the fine print.

Excellent food, service and views!

By ParrotRob |

We went on a Tuesday night after returning from an Alaskan cruise We had reservations through Open Table, but likely didn't need them as it was not full. We were given a table at the very back of the restaurant against the panoramic window that faces across Elliott Bay to a phenomenal view of downtown Seattle. Our server was Adam, who had a very in-depth knowledge of the menu, including the wine list and the daily special. We went with a bowl of the seafood chowder (which Adam very thoughtfully split into two cups for us so we could both try it without having to swap back and forth) and the harissa mussels and clams. Both were outstanding and I could have made a meal out of the mussels and clams alone. My entree was the crab-stuffed Steelhead and my wife tried the special that day which was an Asian-inspired coho salmon dish with ginger, soy, edamame and other vegetables over rice. Both were delicious. The steelhead and coho were both cooked excellent, the salmon a perfect medium-rare, just the way we like it. Adam's service was attentive without being overbearing. We were also lucky enough to see some sea lions frolicking in the bay toward the end of our meal. It's a bit pricy, so it's not a place you're going to go to every week, but for special occasions we would go back there in a heartbeat.

Great views, great service. Food...not so great.

By Shawnee K |

My wife and I were really looking forward to going Salty's for lunch. The ferry ride and the views of the Seattle skyline were absolutely amazing. Our waiter was outstanding, but the food was far less impressive. My wife got the sushi roll, which sounded great from the menu description but was flavorless and way too large of pieces to eat without cutting it in to chunks and also tasted unpleasantly fishy. I ordered the pork belly sliders assuming they would actually be sliders, but they ended up being just large chunks of pork fat on Chinese buns. We also tried the calamari, which was comped as someone else turned them away, but they were overly breaded and really greasy. I've never left a negative food review, and this was just our experience, but think people should have a heads up. I would recommend having drink on the patio enjoying the view but having a bite somewhere else.

Sunday late afternoon meal

By aedrbf |

On a Sunday afternoon in September we took a chance that we might be able to snag a table outside at about 4:00 p.m. ( late lunch/eary dinner). We were seated on the deck with an amazing view of Seattle. Friendly service, great food. We will be going back on our next visit.

Beautiful Sunday Brunch

By HurricaneRu |

Bring an empty stomach to get your money worth. Everything on the buffet was yummy- from the heart attack hash browns to the salmon to the cinnamon rolls. If the weather permits, eat outside to enjoy the beautiful city view. I would definitely return.

Outside dining with an amazing view

By Kelly W |

My husband and I were celebrating his birthday and our anniversary. This was our first visit to Seattle and we wanted good food with a water view. This place had good food with an amazing views of the cityscape from across the water. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. We sat outside on the deck with incredibly great weather.

Wedding

By sheehan62 |

My nephews wedding - what a blast. What a great venue, food was very good and the view of the Seattle sky line made the perfect background. We wanted for nothing - two bars never waited for a drink, two out door areas one with a fire pit, the wait staff were great with a constant "don't be shy" when taking oysters on the half shell (wonderful vin egret), mini crab cakes, and grilled chicken skewers with peanut sauce.

Sunday Brunch - April 4, 2021

By JMNana |

I have eaten at this establishment many times. I have even given an event in there reserved area downstairs. Due to COVID they don't have the Sunday buffet which is amazing. We had to order off of the menu. We dine at Salty's for the amazing view and food. 1. We had reservations and were seated in the lower basement area, great for a banquet but not as nice as sitting upstairs in the main dinning area. If I knew we were going to be seated in the basement I wouldn't of come. Remember, you are paying the same amount as customers that were seated upstairs. 2. I ordered the fish and chips and Caesar salad. The fish was over cooked, I didn't eat it, 3 people ordered the fish and chips, some of the pieces were meaty and other pieces were flat. Seattle is known for fresh fish, this tasted like frozen fish. The salad was good. 3. At the end of the day our bill was around $140.00, if I hadn't been there before I would not return but I know they can do a better job then this. 4. Brian our waiter was great. We left him a nice tip even though the food was not up to power. 5. There are so many amazing restaurants in this city, not to mention the work being done on the bridge which prolongs your trip. I want to give a good review but I just can't. 6. Please remember if they try to sit you downstairs "REFUSE"

Best Brunch in Seattle

By ctssm5 |

Fantastic selection of culinary delights from oysters in the half shell, crab legs, prime rib, ham, turkey, crepes, eggs Benedict, and perhaps 75 other items. Plus a dessert bar that is second to none. We have been fortunate enough to have had the chance to eat there many times and never have been disappointed. The service could have been more attentive however, is the only slight knock. I had to ask other waiter to help us and to bring us more drinks and clear the table etc. Gorgeous view, fabulous food, a rare tradition of excellence.

Come for the view but do stay for the food.

By John P |

It is often true about restaurants which have as fantastic a view as Salty's does that the restaurant comes to rely on that view and so sadly the food and service can come a distant second. Thankfully not so with Saltys on Alki Beach. Firstly the view was indeed amazing but more importantly the service and food were both very good. I really enjoyed my oysters while we all enjoyed our fish mains which were all excellent. Service was understated but faultless. I would happily return here on my next visit to Seattle, both for the view and food.

Easter Brunch-miss buffet but very good

By Ronald S |

When possible, every Easter, we try to go here. Miss the Buffet that has been there years past. We hope it comes back next year. We wish they would finish fixing the West Seattle bridge. What a pain to get there and back with detours. Luckily, it was a Sunday. We imagine it is a major headache on weekdays. We had server Chrissy, who we have had previous years. She is server extraordinaire. She sets the benchmark for service. The food was delicious and arrived in a timely manner. The manager even served food. You don't see that in many restaurants and she put pepper from an enormous pepper field on our food. I heard it weighed 10 lbs.-that could be some weapon. HA! Overall, great experience!

Beware the undisclosed surcharge

By Andrew V |

Salty’s now has a resort fee. Only they call it an “surcharge.” Yeah. You won’t see it coming, nor will they tell you it’s coming, but it will definitely be on the check. It gets worse. Their non-alcoholic drinks aren’t refillable. They charge you for each refill of iced tea. This is American and businesses can charge whatever they want for their product or services, but they must disclose what that’s going to be. If you’re going to charge me a 4% surcharge then you have to tell me that. I will never go to Salty’s again. I just cant trust them.

Anniversary celebration

By Daniel H |

This place has a wonderful view. That is what you pay for. Food is over priced. I had Steelhead, which was good, but it was $46. My daughter got a seafood platter for $71, and the raw oysters were not fresh. Our server was average. Disappeared for 10 or 15 minutes. If I go back, it will be at the bar duting happy hour (and on someone else's dime).

Unexpected surcharge

By Disappointed Customer |

Agree with the undisclosed surcharge. Did not see it on the menu and was not made aware of it. Menu prices were high enough for dishes received.

Views & fresh seafood

By AndreaUbok |

We have a beautiful corner table outside on the patio facing downtown Seattle. Brody our waitress and the staff was friendly and attentive. We started by sharing a dozen Pacific oysters with cocktail sauce and horseradish. We then shared the colossal Bering Sea red king crab leg with a bowl of chowder, Caesar salad and a signature white chocolate mousse cake. Just perfection! Our meal was outrageously delicious, just exceptional! And the seafood was so fresh, It couldn’t of been better. The meal for one was very generous, more than enough for the both of us

Great restaurant greay location

By Philippe N |

Very nice place just in front of Seattle's skyline. Food is really good, service is great but prices are too high! We decided to share some starters which was the best thing to do. The best place for me in Alki beach

There are so many better options

By Jon |

They have THE view. Check that box. Otherwise… As a local, I gave up on Salty’s years ago because of their overpriced, adequate food and poor service. I made reservations multiple times only to be told on arrival that “we’re busy, sit in the bar” and then had to wait 45 minutes each time. Nevertheless, I had a friend who wanted to go to Salty’s, so I reluctantly agreed. And, it was still the same story. Wait, eat marginal food, and get a huge bill. I’m done. There.are so many much better seafood restaurants in Seattle. If you want THAT view, walk down the street to Marination. Good, affordable Hawaiian food with minimal wait. Casual, fun. Or go across the pond to Aqua, Lowell’s, or any number of great restaurants downtown. Or try the places on Allie Beach. Salty’s? Forget it!

Freezing cold. Useless Management

By Laurie V |

The restaurant is freezing! Manager couldn’t do anything but bring us blankets. Very poor customer service. Not my idea of a high end restaurant when you can’t enjoy your meal because of the air conditioning. Glad the kitchen was comfortable because the restaurant patrons were not!

fantastic harbor view on West Seattle peninsular

By dkg |

Salty's is an easy walk from the water taxi pier, great view of the Seattle harbor and fantastic food. The best salmon sushi roll I've had, and my husband's brisket burger and fries were great. We thought it was very reasonably priced for wonderful setting, service & delicious food. Our waitress Ellie was very attentive, and the sea lions barking on the harbor are a plus!

Fantastic Restaurant

By John D |

We had both lunch and dinner at this restaurant. Our friends who live here highly recommended it and we were not disappointed. The menu is extensive with gluten free options which were great according to my wife. We had salmon and steelhead which were both outstanding and delicious. The service was excellent and the view of Seattle is breathtaking. I highly recommend this restaurant.

More that just great food

By Heidi H |

So we did not get to board our cruise to Alaska as hubby forgot passports. Needless to say, it was my birthday and I was incredibly upset and trying to just breathe and not cry. We decided to grab dinner before flying cross country. The wait staff specifically Keem was kind and empathetic. He actually went out to his car and brought in an external battery so we could charge our cell phone as charger were on our Alaska cruise without us. Chris who also worked there offered suggestions on how to deal with cruise ship going forward in hopes of salvaging something. He could not have been nicer. After two wonderful martinis, I felt normal but the chowder made my day. Outstanding! I had the Cajun inspired Rockfish. Absolutely great but you have to like spicy which I do. Hubbie had prawns and scallops which was amazing. Dessert was the white chocolate mousse cake with raspberry sauce. If you leave without doing dessert, you are making a huge mistake. The view was incredible and since I was in Seattle for less than 12 hours, this was the only redeeming memory of a really bad day

Surcharge

By DownTime2018 |

The location is nice with a wonderful view of Seattle’s skyline. Service was nice and didn’t have to wait, but we did have a reservation. The biggest frustration is this trend of restaurants adding surcharges- this one is kept by the restaurant. If they need to raise prices due to rent, food costs etc. then do so!!! It feels so under handed. Be open an honest with your customers. We have stopped going to a couple Seattle area restaurants due to surcharges. I do want to be clear it is not about a price increase. This restaurant is not inexpensive to start. Just be warned.

Great food, incredible service, wonderful view, horrible parking.

By Elizabeth P |

We attended a catered part in the Admiral room at Salty’s and were blown away by the service they provided. Throughout the entire afternoon their staff was on hand and in the ball. The food dishes were constantly refilled and refreshed. The sliders were out of this world and the crab artichoke dip disappeared by the plateful. The fruit trays were fresh and attractive. The cheese plates were creative and had many unusual cheeses and neat breads. Thanks go to the staff for being quietly efficient, prompt, and friendly. This was a day to remember and they played a huge role in making it so.

Nice view of Seattle

By TaTaworld |

It is my first visit in Seattle, my friend brought me there & said this is the restaurant you can see the whole view of Seattle across. And it was amazing to having a nice food with the view. Also, the server provide a great services.

Happy New Year's Eve

By Monica L |

Wonderful venue with great food and drinks. We chose Salty's for our special date night and we were impressed with our experience. The spicy Ceasars in the bar prior to being seated were excelent...different than we've had other places. I had two. The Old Fashioned was very good here. For dinner we tried their slab salad which is also called a wedge salad elsewhere. Very good choice. We split it. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was to die for. A must try for sprouts lovers. They were served with glazed pork shoulder pieces. The sweetness was so different...probably the best tasting sprouts we've had. Again we shared this dish. For the main entree, a succulent filet mignon was served with fresh sauted green beans and whipped mashed potatoes. Prepared well and something we also shared. Actually couldn't finish everything. We were each given a yummy shortbread cookie after dinner that was half covered in dark chocolate. These came home with us to eat later. OMG they were so good. We highly recommend Salty's at Alki Beach.

THIS IS A ***** PLACE WITH ONE FATAL FLAW

By STEVE C |

The food, view, and service were all superb. Victor is a professional waiter who is fast, attentive, and personable. Prices are somewhat elevated, to be expected for a restaurant of such renown. But ... when the owners add a mandatory 4% "surcharge" to pay their "kitchen help,' it reeks of greed and classism, as if they work in the slave quarters. Take my $50 dinner: add 10 % tax = $55, plus expected 20% tip = $65 and then sneak in an extra 4% to gouge the unwary customer, you now have a bill of $67 for a $50 dinner, an add-on of 34%. This is greedy, sneaky, and classist. Victor readily took off the extra 4% upon request. I am from the east coast originally where we speak up. around here, people say nothing and do not return. Take off the damned 4% and reduce your profit margin a little bit. You will keep good customers. Think about it.

Wow, wish there was a saltys nearby

By Suzanne |

Great everything! Timely reservation. Prompt pleasant service, appetizer, food, dessert. Nice ambiance, good view. Did not have to track down server for anything. Food was appropriate temp, looked and tasted delicious! Thanks to all the staff it made our evening a delite.

Good but pricey

By Hsteinmiller |

Very nice experience eating dinner here last night - our server Brian was outstanding, explaining the menu and making suggestions. The food was generally good, with the clam appetizer being the most memorable. Everything else was fine, a bit pricey for what we had in my opinion. Lovely views of downtown Seattle. Not sure if it merits a return visit.

Excellent food, service and view of Seattle!

By RavisDavis |

Our local friends brought us here and we had a lovely time sitting outside with the harbor seals serenading us from the distance. Spectacular view of Seattle across the water. Joseph our server made us feel like locals. The food and wine was excellent, you should get seafood but they also have steak for your other moods. All the servers were service oriented and we were well attended to. Restaurants of this caliber can sometimes be overdone, but everything here is in balance, bright, clean and airy, fun decorations and vibe. You will pay a premium due to location and quality of food but it is worth it! Have fun and hang out for awhile!

Best Views of Seattle with OK Food and Service

By JBeerman |

First, the nighttime views of Seattle from the restaurant are truly unbelievable and absolutely amazing. I imagine it is a wonderful experience to have a romantic dinner at a table right next to the windows at sunset/night. I had a large group of 15 people and 1 baby and they were able to accommodate us with only 48 hours notice. The reservationist was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I had high hopes at this point! We arrived, saw the views, and were very excited. We only had to wait a couple of minutes for our table to be ready, which was fantastic! However, our server was not very friendly and slightly rude. My water glass was only re-filled once during the entire 2.5-hour meal! It was a long meal and we never felt rushed to leave. But, the food was just OK. The halibut was dry and had very little flavor. There was an excellent kids menu. What really frustrated me the most was the server handing me the check and "reminding" me that the amount shown didn't include the tip. I understand that many restaurants automatically include gratuity with large parties and Satly's did not, but there were literally a dozen other less offensive ways of saying that. The food isn't cheap, but it isn't so overpriced to be too obnoxious. Despite the OK food and less than OK service, I am still giving Salty's a rating of 4/5 because they had a good kid's menu selection and the views truly are worth it!

Fantastic brunch with lots of seafood

By Sandy C |

Got there on a Saturday around 10:15am and only had to wait about 10 min. because we opted to dine outside on the patio. There are delicious scones and various baked goods with coffee and tea available for you while you wait. The view was beautiful and the weather was perfect! The highlight for me was the steamed Dungeness crab legs and peel and eat shrimp. My husband loved the raw oysters. Everything was fresh. There’s so much selection that we didn’t get to try everything because we can only eat so much. For $58 per person, I did find it a bit pricey but worth trying at least once.

Buffet Brunch

By Emma S |

I had heard about Salty's as a great seafood restaurant & my sister & I decided to go for the Saturday Buffet Brunch - what a great experience! The brunch offered so much choice, in a way overwhelming, but everything we ate was delicious. Seafood, meats, potatoes, salads, fruits, baked goods, eggs, pancakes, waffles etc. We were seated near the window overlooking the Seattle skyline, & our waitress was very attentive. We decided to our first round should be savoury & the then second round as sweet. Between each round, our waitress took away the dirty plate, gave us new cutlery & refreshed our drinks. It is a little expensive, but definitely worth the cost!

Overpriced and underwhelming

By Expedition793596 |

The food and service were barely adequate. Although we did not have reservations, the restaurant was nearly empty at the time of our visit, so one would think seating would not be a problem. But they had us wait in the front of the restaurant, for what I am not too sure. The waitress was OK, but the food was barely adequate. My advice to potential visitors to this restaurant is to get a McDonald's fish sandwich instead; it will taste better and cost about $150 less. My wife and I had the Smothered Rockfish, a slab of mushy fish on a bed of rice. My daughter had Cioppino, which seemed like shrimp and clams in tomato soup. I came away feeling ripped off. While the view of the Seattle skyline is great, you can get the same or better experience with the waterside restaurant a couple of blocks away. Perhaps the other menu items are spectacular and we just ordered the wrong thing. Regardless, we won't be back to find out.

Ambience and view

By Pocahontas |

If you often have the opportunity to eat in top European restaurants, you generally have a hard time in the USA: even simple French fries are awesome, gorgeous, fantastic... and outside of the "chains" everything is completely overpriced anyway 😉 our meal at Saltys was of OK quality. Nothing more. So let's get to our personal highlights: a really pretty restaurant, really friendly service and spontaneously getting one of the best tables with a fantastic view. As is so often the case, it depends on the little things and not least on the people you deal with. We liked it a lot.

Fun for an out of towner

By Emma B |

I had a lot of fun here with friends on my first ever visit to Seattle. My friends knew me and humored me for my penchant for a little more upscale, especially regarding seafood. It was a delightful time had by all.

Utterly disappointing

By John K |

Crab louie has a tablespoon of crab in it. Not the way it used to be. Really pretty amazing that they would serve such a small portion and then charge $12 for an extra ounce of crab meet. The equals $192 per pound. I have lived in Seattle all my life and eaten at all the better seafood restaruants. This is just not good. Salty's is for the tourists or people who do not know better.

Salty's checks all the boxes: great food, spectacular views, outstading service!

By seezer808 |

We enjoyed Salty's famed Sunday brunch recently. We made reservations a couple weeks in advance. The experience checked all the boxes: huge selection of quality food, spectacular harbor views, and outstanding service. The selection of food is staggering: several kinds of sea food, prime rib, breakfast dishes, decadent deserts, fresh fruit, and more. It was very hard to pace ourselves. And the views of Elliot Bay and the city skyline is fantastic. The only thing better than the food and views was our server, Chrissy. She was funny, sassy, and attentive throughout our meal. It is pricey, but you and your loved deserve to experience this memorable meal at least once.

Great view and good food, but...

By Peter L |

Tried to think of a catchy title for this review but I couldn't. Had a very nice lunch with a great view of Seattle. Staff was outstanding but I was disappointed when my order of prawns arrived. I was expecting a decent size crustacean but what I received was 6 very delicious but very small shrimp.( The menu says"6 Huge Prawns) I agree with another review about the 4% surcharge, that surprised me. But overall, the entire staff was very welcoming and very professional, the food very good and I would do it again. BTW, it is pricy.

Beautiful View of Seattle

By Maura H |

Worth the Seattle view. Our meal was delicious from the cinnamon rolls to calamari to the hamburgers and the salmon salad! Make your reservations well in advance!

Excellent atmosphere, food and service what more could you want!

By A396CR |

Made an over the top presentation for our aniversay dinner. Rose petals on the table, greatings from staff just everything. View is excellent from any seat in the house but the window seats are the ones you want to get. We all had the louie louies and they were excellent. The staff surprised us with a piece of anniversary cake which words can hardly describe how good it was. Waitress was excellent. We had arrived early for our reservation with the intent of sitting at the bar and relaxing for over an hour. The hostess asked us if we would like our window table right away as they were preparing one just then. Of course we said yes and it was fabulous.

It was ok. Expected more than ok.

By Jessica J |

First time visit. Service with Camille was terrific, a perfect blend of attentiveness and casual friendliness. Party of 4, I ordered the least expensive item of the group and was far and away the happiest with my choice. One member of our group, admittedly a large person, ordered the crab and said he could have eaten two more of them and not felt full. Oysters as appetizers were meh. Nothing awful, nothing notable other than the bill. Seems like the place you have to take visitors to Seattle but not much more. You are paying for the view, not the food.

Be careful or they will get you

By Curt B |

View great, food very good, waiter was attentive but mgmt brought review done when they charged us 4% to split a $600 bill. Crazy! Overcharged us on that fee by approx 8%. Triple crazy!

Brunch on the Water

By wanderlustatlgirl |

Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance being we were visiting from Atlanta Georgia. Went on a Sunday at 10:30 am. Ask for a window view in my reservations. Had a small hiccup when we got there as they wanted to stick us in the corner (no real view) even though we asked for a window view. I expressed my disappointment of our table to Tim and he quickly came up with a game plan. He put us at a closer table to the window and would move us as soon as a window table came available. Thank you Tim for the wonderful hospitality. That made my day as an out of towner! The food was delish. I would visit again

Magical wedding.

The banquet crew went beyond our expectations handling my niece’s wedding. It was a beautiful night filled with great memories. Kamila and Matt were very accommodating and very helpful with our needs. We appreciate you..

Great food and views

By chrissy day |

We had Sunday brunch and ordered the special which was a yummy breakfast burrito. The waitress Brody was attentive and a sweet lady. We appreciated the great food, the views, and the excellent service.

Meh

By Kathryn F |

The view is great and the food is OK but it’s mediocre without the weekend breakfast buffet. We used to go regularly with out of town guests and now won’t go as there are other better places.

Birthday Celebration

By Jerry A |

Salty’s is one of our go to restaurants when we visit family in Seattle. This July was no exception as we celebrated my wife’s birthday. Nash our server did an exceptional job and as always we had great food and a wonderful time.

Great food and service, wonderful view

By heelergrl |

We took the West Seattle water taxi to Alki Beach and had an outside table at Salty’s, overlooking Elliot Bay and the Seattle skyline. The Alki roll, the seafood mixed grill, and the white chocolate mousse cake (complimentary because it was our anniversary) were all delicious. Tiffany was our server, and she was cheerful, cordial, and attentive. The only quibble I have is that the mixed grill and, later, coffee were room temperature when they came to the table. Otherwise, a special occasion dinner at Salty’s is something I would recommend to all.

Fancy upscale restaurant on the water!

By 1957VAL |

I can’t rave enough about this restaurant delicious food great service excellent views of the water!

One of the Most Awesome Views in the USA

By Gran7 |

What a beautiful view to behold from Salty’s large picture windows. The service is over the top. Tourists and locals visit this wonderful Seattle restaurant. Gredd as t cocktails and wine pairings enhance the delicious fresh seafood purchased daily the menu changes often to serve the best salmon and halibut fresh Pacific oysters are salty and cold and fresh. Great desserts end the fabulous meal. Don’t miss this experience. Make a reservation!

Great Dining with a View 🤩

By sashakeena |

We took the harbour taxi to beach area and had an enjoyable walk to this restaurant. We received a table that had an amazing view of the harbour. Staff were very efficient & friendly as they ensured we had a great dining experience. Wife & I enjoyed the seafood platter with a cold beverage for lunch. Highly recommend giving this place a try.🤩

A must stop with the best views!

By Paradise573975 |

To start off the view is spectacular of the Seattle skyline, the ferry's going back/forth, the interior/exterior decor of the restaurant are all wonderful! Gunnar (server) was awesome, friendly and made you feel incredibly welcome! His recommendation for the clam chowder with sherry was spot on! It is BY FAR the best we've had (in regards to clam chowders) during our extensive travels! So good we took the ferry again from Seattle to Alki to have it! Highly recommend!

An excellent meal spoiled by a hidden fee

By TedM |

Friends took us to Salty's because of the quality of the food and the amazing night view of Seattle across the bay. The food and the view were indeed outstanding, and the service was impeccable. The prices are not cheap, but we were prepared for them. But the evening was partially spoiled by an arbitrary 4% surcharge added to the total bill, just because. The charge is mentioned on the menu, but there is no attempt at justifying it. They apparently charge it because they can. If they had added $1 to various menu items, it would have netted them the same cash and we never would have noticed it. Too bad that greed spoiled our visit.

Save $$ and Throw your Wallet in the Water!!

By danoinec |

Salty's is WAY OVERPRICED!!! 3 adults and 1 child went to dinner to celebrate a birthday. I hadn't been in a while and looked forward to the amazing view of downtown Seattle. But, when I opened the dinner menu and started to scan, I was MORTIFIED at the prices!!! Cold "STARTER" seafood platter $71. A side Ceasar salad with crab $22. Scallops...$11 per 1 scallop! 14oz lobster tail $70 or 2 lb for $95. The cheapest entree on the menu was chicken at $29. The 3 adults ordered Steelhead at $36 each. The child had a salad plate sized mac-n-cheese for $10. Bread doesn't come with the meal...that's $5 extra. For drinks, I had a glass of Merlot ($11) poured to a whopping depth of about 1 1/2 inches in my glass. I didn't have anymore. The other two adults had martinis and manhattans ranging from $11 to $14 each. Our steelhead entree was served stack-stylce...the fish over steamed broccoli which was over mashed potatoes. Very good. As I said, $36. Our dinner/drinks tab was well over $300 + about $30 in taxes +$65 tip....plus....oh, forgot...on the bottom of the menu, Salty's discloses "A 3% surcharge will be added to each guest check, all of which will be retained by the house." We thought it meant if you wanted separate checks. Nope. The waiter explained it was to offset the costs of the $15 minimum wage law. Yep, another add-on DING. So, with the additional 'ding', the total bill came to over $400. The food was good, the view phenomenal, the service good (although our waiter had a bit over-the-top personality (over enunciating, over emphasis, over acting)...just be natural for cripes sake, and the dining room decor was 'ehhhhh'....dated. But, not going back. I can enjoy myself just as much and have just as good a meal lots of places for a LOT LESS.

Salty's at Alki, Very Disappointing

By Suzanne S |

VERY DISAPPOINTING! We took my husband to the Alki location for his birthday last week and were really excited to have the Dungeness Crab. The best thing about the whole meal was the Calamari appetizer. My husband ordered the oysters and was told they were mediums. When they came, they were actually extra smalls. The Dungeness crab was extremely salty, very dry, and freezer burnt. We returned the crab and ordered the Fish and Chips. There was no flavor in the batter and the fish was raw inside. The fries I received looked like the leftovers. My husband's Halibut was nicely done. It was such a waste of money, the $199. we spent for lunch would have been better spent for two visits at Wally's in Des Moines. Our waiter (Willian) was very nice and we tipped him well but we'll never go to back Salty's again.

Best Sunday Brunch Buffet in Seattle

By DeeFry |

Salty's Sunday brunch buffet is back and still fabulous. Our favorites were the Dungeness crab, prime rib, omelet station, eggs Benedict, and the amazing selection of desserts. However, the price of the buffet has nearly doubled. So one would hope that the price included juice, and not just coffee. Perhaps management will consider including at least orange juice in the price. Service was great. Plenty of parking in their lot.

Great Seafood

By Tina G |

My first time in Seattle had dinner with great friends. Salty on Alki is the place. I had Salmon on a mix green salad that was so fresh and tasty. The salmon was so light and fresh. Our server Brian who was from Texas made our night. If you are looking for a great personal friendly service and great food Salty’s is the place. The view is awesome.

Great food and views!

By Debbie L |

We visited Salty's as a group for dinner. When the reservation was made, it was overlooked that we needed seating for a person in a wheel chair. This resulted in a much longer wait for a table to clear where we would be out of the way. The manager was very apologetic and went out of his way to accommodate us with a round of drinks while waiting. When sat at the table, we were treated to 2 complimentary orders of prawns. The were fabulous. And did I mention that our table was in front of the window with a view of downtown Seattle. Absolutely beautiful! All the meals were great, the service was top notch. Not the best parking but I wouldn't let that stop you from visiting.

Outstanding

By Amanda W |

What a super experience. The food and wine was amazing and the service outstanding. Particular thanks to Patrick, the manager last night. You went above and beyond! Many thanks. Amanda, the Brit!

Fantastic food and views!

By Branden M |

We stopped by at the recommendation of some friends and we couldn’t have had a better experience! The chowder was some of the best we ever had and the seafood selection is unmatched! Couldn’t recommend the food or the views enough!

We had the BEST dining experience at Salty’s !

By Linda H |

What a delight dinner at Salty’s on Alli Beach was! Fro calling for our reservation to leaving the restaurant we were treated like royalty! Everyone was incredibly attentive and the food was SO delicious! My husband had their special a Stuffed Salmon with rice and veggies. Beautifully presented and delicious. My Dungenous Crab was beyond amazing! Learning of us celebrating our 70th Birthdays our waiter brought us their signature dessert of White Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Coulis to share . Highly recommend this lovely venue with the absolute best view of Seattle across the bay.

Always Perfect

By 5576miked |

I eat here everytime I am in Seattle. It is at Alki and I love it there too. The window seats are the best with awesome views of Seattle! The food is amazing. Just has Thanksgiving dinner there this year and it was just great. Already thinking of going back next year. Don't miss this one!

Good food and service. Minor problem with the hostess.

My friend and I dined at Salty's last Wednesday 7/23/25. We had called earlier in the week for a reservation and told that a window seat was "first come first served". We made the reservation and arrived on time. There was a table for 4 (we were 2) by the window and we were told that we couldn't have it. I didn't catch the reason and didn't want to make an issue out of it. The table remained empty for 40 minutes. Then occupied by a party of 2 and then again a party of 2. There was no one waiting for a table when we arrived. Other than that, the food and service was great. Server was "Keen". Yep...that's his name.

Don’t bother if you're GF

By Annette T |

Don’t bother if you're gluten free. Despite the fact that seafood is GF, the prep methods here will take most dishes off the table for you. very disappointing that they can't offer fish dishes without adding soy sauce or breading.

Five star food and Views

By Annikacorbijn1 |

We came for the views, watching the sun set over the beautiful Seattle skyline, but boy was the food good too. Spectacular fresh fish, lobster and the most decadent cakes for dessert. A must when visiting Seattle

View alone is worth the visit

By jdscal |

first of all the view is so awesome. the food is great. the service is great and the ambience is worth the visit. the seafood is the specialty but my granddaughter had the steak and she said it was excellent.

WEDDING - YES. CASUAL DINING - NO

By Steve B |

I had planned to surprise our son with brunch, stationed near Saltys (AB). Based on the reviews I made reservations. Maybe its bc we travel but for the lunch we received all 4 of us agreed the lunch was not worth the value. It wasnt that bad but my wife and I had just returned from the East Coast where we paid half the price for a much better fair in quantity and quality. Our son told us if he had of known we were reserving dinner he would have taken us to a much better place. Nice view. Server was great though.

Best dining experience during our Seattle visit!

By StacyeRegina |

Seattle has many delicious dining options...and this is definitely one of them! Both the service and the food were absolutely fantastic! Adam was our server and was a joy to interact with. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the coconut prawns for an appetizer and split the lavender honey steelhead. The fish was cooked perfectly and I savored every bite. Well done Salty's! I'll be back on my next visit to Seattle. Oh, and the views were great as well.

Perfect place for lunch

By PerilsofPeony |

If I could give the service at Salty's a 10, I would! Our waiter was the sweetest man ever. He even escorted my mother-in-law to the restroom and back. The food was delicious, the view was perfect, and our group of 10 had a wonderful afternoon.

Fine food with a view

By Des G |

We enjoyed some great seafood whilst watching the sunset on downtown Seattle. The water taxi ride over to and back from Alki beach was easy, relatively cheap and fun. The shrimp and scallops were very tasty, with the calamari and coconut prawns both delicious appetizers. A little pricey but the setting and experience is memorable.

As good as you can expect

By Emma F |

We took a chance by not reserving, and only had to wait about 20 minutes even though it was Saturday brunch. We had a great view across the harbour to Pike's Place Market. Our waiter was friendly, and helpful, he explained how the buffet worked. The brunch buffet had less seafood than we had hoped, but there was lots of food for everyone. The place was pretty crowded, but people were respectful of each other in the buffet area. The food was all hot (or cold) and the staff were refilling the stations regularly. Although, the crab legs ran out towards the end of our visit. The peel and eat shrimp were the only disappointment, they were too salty to eat. Everything else was superb. The desserts were also a little disappointing, being mostly sugar and gluten free, but the fresh fruit was delicious and made a welcome end to our delightful dining experience.

Visit on a Busy Saturday Night

By Hardisty80 |

I am visiting my daughter who works in Seattle. The restaurant has good reviews and so we booked well in advance. The restaurant was busy and, when we arrived, we were told that our table was still occupied and to wait in the entrance area. No offer of a drink - even a glass of water. Eventually we were able to sit at the bar and finally took our seat about 20 minutes after the booked time. We were next to the window which was very nice. The menu is relatively short; we had eaten two days earlier at Elliotts Oyster House and they, for example, offered 4 different salads and 2 soups (Salty's had 2 salads and 1 soup). My daughter enjoyed both her starter (oysters) and the halibut main course. My starter was the coco prawns which were swimming in a Thai style chilli sauce which was identical to a supermarket product. I think the chef should make his own (which was what I was expecting). My salmon main course was fine but the nuoc cham vinaigrette was too sweet and had very little heat. The staff were pleasant and helpful. However, they were very busy and so I had to ask for a knife for the main course because the waiter hadn't noticed it was missing. The location really is lovely and we enjoyed our visit. However, overall it just didn't live up to the hype

Great Food and Incredible Scenery

By Pete S |

What a wonderful experience Salty's was. The food and service were great, but the view of Seattle from our outdoor dining spot, was spectacular. Will definitely be back when we are in Seattle again.

Amazing place and view!!

By rubenpedrov |

Definitely if you are in Seattle and want to have a great meal with an amazing view, this is an amazing option, really good.

Lovely waterfront views

By ymt888 |

Love our meal here. We came for dinner and was seated near the window with a gorgeous view of Seattle’s night skyline. Most of the food we ordered were really good and I especially love the prawn n lobster bucatini and clam chowder. Service was perfect and our waiter had the initiative to spilt the chowder into 3 small bowls as we were sharing. This review fall short of 1 more star because the sushi roll fell below expectations. I would suggest that they remove this item from the menu. Overall a wonderful delightful dinner.

Best seafood experience in a lifetime

By Eduardo P |

If you’re looking for the best quality and taste for seafood at the U. S. Northwest: thi is the place! A perfect view in the world, meanwhile you’re enjoying the best crab, lobster or perhaps some fresh big oysters and prawns. Any other comment is just not enough to explain: the best seafood experience in a lifetime!

Disappointing

By Scot D |

We have come to Saltys for years and we're here in June but today as very disappointing. We arrived and found it unusually slow. We were seated fairly quickly and were handed the menu. We noticed that the price has increased to $110 per person. As we made our way to the buffet we found that the crab is now divied out 1/2 at a time and you dont pick the portion you want, disappointing. As we looked over the normal items it looked as if the recipie has changed on a couple of item, namely the cinnamon rolls and the apple turnover. The wait staff, normally very attentive was absent for much of the meal leaving drinks empty and dishes stacking up. Simple things like a warm wet towel were not offered by our server. With the increased price and the reduction in what we receive I sadly doubt this will be our go to in the future.

Seattle skyline views, oh my!

By gdeakins |

Excellent view of Seattle skyline from across the sound. Very good food and service. Great restaurant to take guests visiting Seattle. Prices are on the high side, but not unreasonable. Free parking.

Classic seafood with a view, well done.

By Stephen P |

Salty’s is an old Seattle institution, the classic seafood restaurant where you take your out of town friends or your grandmother for a well made seafood dinner and a view of downtown over the water. For as famous a place as it is it wasn’t terribly crowded on a Wednesday night. We lingered over some small plates to start: excellent grilled sourdough with herb butter that would have made dynamite bruschetta, roasted potatoes with a delicious Japanese flavored mayonnaise sauce, grilled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and drizzled with olive oil and aged pecorino and a plate of fresh oysters. (I have to say that my stalk of asparagus was quite fibrous—late season.) The menu is shy on vegetarian entrees although they are very adaptable and I told the chef to just make me something which ended up being bucatini pasta with grilled zucchini, green beans, asparagus charred onion and kale. A number of the other dishes were modifiable. My dinner partners had shrimp skewers and singleness crab. For those of you with retro seafood tastes there was also a classic shrimp cocktail. The dessert menu had only four choices and we settled on a chocolate roulade which was very good. Everything was well made. Service was attentive without being hovering. The bill came to $300 for four of us, determine to plumb the ocean depths.

Sunday Brunch with Family

By Tyrone M |

This was my first visit to Seattle and had heard great things about brunch at Salty’s prior to my visit. I was not disappointed. In fact I was overwhelmed by all of the amazing selections of food. I had a delicious made to order omelette along with crab legs and prime rib. On the sweet side, the cinnamon rolls were the best I ever tasted. The food was very good and the service was excellent. All of the employees were very friendly. I enjoyed the atmosphere and spending time with family.

To the left from the Water Taxi dock

By William S |

Ride the 15-minute water taxi from downtown, walk 500 yards south to Salty's on the water. Inside or patio dining. View of Seattle. The best panko cod fish and chips. Moist and hot. Fries were great. We shared over-sized sushi with smoked salmon, crab, asparagus, and daikon. $35.00 for lunch without wine. A gem that tourists seldom enjoy.

Excellent Dining Experience 👍🍽️🍷🍾

By WorldTravelLady101 |

first time eating in a restaurant since February. What an incredible and memorable experience that Salty's provided to us. Why? Well... 👍 Reservations required during their limited opening of 4-8 p.m. When we arrived we were taking immediately to our table. Greeted with a smile 👍 Dining outside was heated and spaced so safety and CV19 precautionary measures were well in place. Very comfortable. 👍 Our waitress, Jill, was the best ever. Very attentive, made great suggestions and made us feel very welcome. 👍 The food was incredible! We had salmon, cioppino, caesar salad with salmon. All excellent as far as cooking, portion and quality. In fact they split the salmon and Caesar salad for two of us girls that wanted half of each. No extra charge and the portions were still very substantial. 👍 Did I mention we had drinks prior? Irish whiskey that warmed you up, highly recommend! 👍 We celebrated my birthday with their raspberry cake. So light that even when we thought we didn't have room we made room! 👍 Mother Nature Cooperated and the view from start to finish, along with the atmosphere was incredible. Seattle skyline was shining at its best. This is one of my favorite restaurants when I visit the Seattle area. I cannot say enough about the quality of this establishment. During this time of CV19, I have been Larry about going anywhere. This was the exception and I'm so glad it was my first. I cannot encourage you enough to make it a point to go here. Happy holidays to all! Please be safe and healthy. 😷😷😷

Paying customer

By Trip780140 |

Our experience was quite unfortunate. Make certain you ask your server the cost of the Sunday Brunch Buffet ..... Conveniently, it’s NOT written on the menu! Furthermore, our server never mentioned it to us! When our check arrived, we were shocked to see what this buffet brunch actually costs!! I strongly advise that if you’re not planning on going up for seconds, thirds and or parking yourself to just “graze” at the buffet, Seattle offers plenty of other brunch options which are superb and considerably less expensive.... and more importantly, will not insult your intelligence.

Beautiful views; wonderful food!

By lotsagoldens |

We had an absolutely wonderful seafood dinner here. David was our waiter, and although he was covering a LOT of tables, he was professional and his service was great. I love the way this restaurant is decorated, too. We had hoped for a table on the deck, but I think they just don't have the staff to cover that.

What a view

By Corrado R |

This restaurant has a wonderful view, especially at night, so I definitely recommend asking for a table facing the sea. The service is kind, the food however did not fully meet expectations, my grilled halibut condiments spoilt the taste of the fish.

Christmas Eve Buffet

By CSItraveller |

There's a Christmas seasonal selection of dishes offered during this festive time. Plenty to eat, local seafood, roasts and deserts to indulge in - if you've any room left. If you're a vegetarian though, the pickings can be scarce.

Great staff.

By Nicole K |

I want to say Bizu specifically, he was amazing. He stocked, constantly moving. Staying on top of things, was pleasant. I was there for 2 hours Nd this guy was never changing. Smile, checked on me. He wasn't even my serve. He made my stay so great. I got a compliment by one staff member. My server was nice. But Bizu stood out sooo much.

Relaxing Atmosphere

By Ed L |

A friend of ours took us to this place since he hadn't been here in ages. We arrived too early for dinner, but the server was able to put in our order early. We started out with the calamari as a starter. My wife enjoyed the baby romaine Caesar salad and the rest of us had the clams and linguine which was good. We were also able to sit and talk with friends while enjoying the views. The service was very good here.

Sexy. Delicious.

By TarJa |

If you're staying downtown Seattle, it takes a drive to make it to the West Side, but it's worth it. We booked a table around sunset, and we had the luxury of seeing Seattle come to life at night. Great food. Great service. And the best view of Seattle. Gorgeous. Romantic. Perfect.

Great food with amazing view

By Gracie M |

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. We sat outdoors in a covered and heated sitting area with a great view of the city. The food was great! Service was excellent. If you’re looking for a restaurant with a picturesque view, this is the place to go!

What a view

By ms1363 |

Had dinner at Salty's the other night, clear night view is wonderful food and wine were very good, it is worth the drive from down town.

Awesome Sunday Brunch!

By flatwins |

We started our family trip with Sunday Brunch! Amazing selection of fresh seafood that is constantly replenished! If seafood is your thing, then stick with that- it was very fresh! The chocolate fountain with all the fixings was fun for the kids. Vast selection of other brunch items that are fine. The seafood is the star!!!

Delicious food, welcoming restaurant and wonderful views over to Seattle - you should go to this restaurant

By Ben W |

Saltys interior is big and welcoming and it has seriously wonderful views over to Seattle from the west side of Puget sound and the huge windows take full advantage so that everyone gets an amazing view it sets the start up really well. We had a huge bowl ofcalamari to share which was delicious and then my wife had lovely salmon and I had prawn and lobster boccacini which was delicious - perhaps a bit salty but lots of prawns and lobster in the sauce with big spaghetti - yum. $200 for 2 incl tip was well worth it - would definitely go again

Lunch with a view

By Rafi M |

Great spot for a business lunch, 10-15 minutes from the downtown area across the sound. This time of year the wearher is nice and an outside table is comfortable and you get the greater Seattle view. Lots of seafood, and lots of flavor. Had the blackened steelhead salmon on cesar salad and chowder combo. Very good. Service is friendly and there’s parking. The waitress gave no fuzz about splitting the bill 5 ways from our business lunch.

Not worth it...

By Ana J |

My boyfriend and I were not pleased. After reading such amazing reviews I assumed it would be a nice spot to try but the only goos part was the view. The wait staff was slow and attentive… The food was not well seasoned and took way too long to come out and the outside deck was only heat it for half of our visit. It wasn’t at all what we expected. I will say, however, because of our troubles they offered us a free dessert and in celebration of my boyfriend‘s birthday they gave us an additional free dessert and had the table decorated with confetti and a card which was nice.

Watch out for the steak and the surprise 4% surcharge.

By David D |

Great location with a nice view. The stuffed halibut was delicious. The New York Strip was tough, chewy and over seasoned and not worth the price. The biggest shock was the 4% surcharge with out explanation. I am visiting from out of state and maybe this is normal in Seattle. But I found it offensive. I reduced the tip from 20% to 16%. The service was good but not worth 24%.

Great food and view, but bring extra money for the surcharge!

By Maggie M |

My family and I went to their weekend brunch which was delicious. The options were wonderful and I was very pleased. We went back the following Monday for dinner and was surprised to see, at the bottom of a page of the menu, that there would be a 4% surcharge on every item that is retained by the house only. I found this extremely dishonest and deceptive, and I felt like I was being swindled. It's like going to a grocery store and being told at checkout that the prices are actually 4% higher than the listed prices with no explanation for it. I don't understand why they don't just add 4% to the prices on the menu. The food is good enough that 4% is worth it and I'm sure people will not have a problem paying the extra amount. When we complained to the waiter, he removed the surcharge for us, but it still left me with a bad feeling. It's a shame since the food is very good and the view of the lake with the Seattle skyline is beautiful.

Consider with Caution

By Stephen W |

We recently had our wedding at Salty's, and while the view was stunning and the food was decent, our experience with the management team was truly horrific. We feel compelled to warn anyone considering hosting a life-changing event here to think twice. So many things went wrong throughout the process, and we are incredibly grateful for our wedding coordinator who helped salvage the day. Here are just a few examples of the issues we faced: During the planning phase, communication with Salty's was primarily through email and phone calls since we were not local. Over the course of about 12 months, we were repeatedly assured by the catering manager that we would have a designated changing area for the bride. However, just 2-3 weeks before our wedding, the catering manager was suddenly let go, and Brie, the catering director, became our new contact. Brie provided limited communication and failed to go through all the details with us. On the rehearsal day, which was the day before our wedding, she informed us that there was no room available for the bride to change in. It was incredibly frustrating when she casually suggested that we change outside the restaurant in the open space, as if it were a joke. As a last-minute solution, we had to create a makeshift changing area by sectioning off a part of our wedding space with black cloths. However, it's important to note that there was no door, leaving the bride and groom vulnerable to anyone accidentally walking in. On the day of the wedding, not only did we, as the hosts, find the operations manager, Nikki, to be extremely rude, but we also received multiple complaints from guests about her behavior both during and after the event. As the operations manager, Nikki shouted across the room, causing a scene. To make matters worse, she struggled to get the video and audio system to work, resulting in a 15-minute delay that left us and our guests waiting. In the process, she mistakenly lowered the incorrect projector screen, which hit some of our guests, including children. Her response to this mishap was to laugh and casually say, "Oops, no wonder the one I was on isn't lowering." This level of unprofessionalism was truly disappointing. After the wedding, we compiled a list of approximately 12 complaints and presented them to Brie, the catering director, hoping for a suitable and professional response. However, the response we received from her included counterclaims that what we had said was "untrue." We were taken aback by the denial, especially considering we had provided evidence and witnesses to support our claims. We even have photos of the projector screen incident, showing the impact it had on our guests. In light of our experience, we strongly advise anyone to think twice before choosing Salty's unless there are significant changes made to the management team. We are not seeking compensation or looking to argue. Our aim is simply to warn others about our experience at Salty's. We hope our story serves as an informative cautionary tale for future event planners. Our main objective is to ensure that people are aware of the challenges they may face with the current management team.

Great food beautiful view

By Amy F |

We went for an early dinner on a Sunday and had no trouble getting in. Sat out on the deck with a great view of the city. Great service and delicious food including the desserts. Will definitely go back again. Parking on site. The restaurant follows all current COVID rules. The outdoor deck has heaters for the cooler days.

Great food, impeccable service

By Lars Q |

We had a spectacular view of Seattle skyline. The food was delicious. It was the best prepared fish we had on our whole trip to Seattle. The service were impeccable considering we where a large group of 11 adults.

Amazing Sunday brunch! Fabulous food and views!

By Vance K |

We recently had trouble getting a reservation due to the popularity of this restaurant, our phone messages went unanswered for 3 days. A drive over to Salty's on Alki was necessary to secure brunch reservations for our daughter and her group of friends who were celebrating her birthday. This is one of our very favorite restaurants in Seattle, and therefore worth the extra work for a brunch reservation! They graciously fit us in, so we tipped the wait staff even more generously than we normally do. The buffet is pricey at about $70 a head (slender teenage girls don't eat much!), but it is worth it!

Great Seafood great Seaview

By Jjdimot4107 |

A friend told us if we wanted great seafood in a great location that we should go to Salty’s on Alki. We sat at an outdoor table with a great view of the downtown Seattle skyline. All of the food was super fresh and first class. Our servers were good but not great. Their attention to little details was lacking. However, that would not stop me from going back.

A must do when visiting Seattle

By FrequentFlier95671 |

We went to Salty’s today for lunch, The view and the food were fantastic, our server was amazing. It is a must do when in Seattle, catch the ferry from pier 50 and enjoy lunch with the view of Seattle skyline. The seafood chowder is the best I’ve ever had.

Seattle with a skyline

By EJMu |

What a gem and the best scallops I’ve had in years!! The sunset view and city skyline overa glass of wine is incredible. Another visit will be forthcoming soon.

Wonderful view and food to match

By Pingu_the_penguin_84 |

We went for business meal, around 20 of us, the views was epic, great choice of beers too. On to the mains I had stealhead it was perfectly cooked not dry at all which frequently happens. I would say the portion sizes are quite large so a starter and main or dessert and main are more likely sadly we couldn't fit a desert as we did oysters to start If you are in Seattle try and get out it's really worth it plus the view is amazing

Go for the food and the view but keep your alcohol to a minimum.

By wayne w |

We arrived during Crabby Hour during which there are small plate food specials. So, we had an adult beverage of some sort and a variety of the food items. All were good as was the excellent service by Brody and the great view of the city's skyline. I would recommend doing what we did, for sure. But, be aware that Crabby Hour does not include any discounted beverages.

Three stars is generous

By m0nkeysuncle |

The big draw is you’re near the water. While the deck seating is extensive, many people were complaining about the direction sun and inability to tilt the umbrellas. Salty’s hasn’t figured that one out yet? My Mai Tai tasted like fruit punch, so bartender gets a failing grade. Oysters did not tasted fresh, Calamari was fairly good. “Wild” king salmon tasted like it was fished out of a moat. Seriously, why the below average food in such a nice setting? Seems the owners have given up!

Great view, great meal

By Marie B |

Salty’s has always offered fresh seafood in a beautiful setting. It’s consistent and reliable. Chrissy, our waitperson, was delightful, attentive, knowledgeable and professional. The salmon was fresh, the sushi roll more than generous, tuna melt was a grown up version and the Dungeness crab melt did not disappoint. Definitely worth it. And there’s free parking in their lot. A pleasure.

Good view, but

By m0nkeysuncle |

Very nice view from this seafood restaurant. Drinks were ok, and salmon entree was quite good. The thing I don’t understand about this place is how could their staple appetizer- seafood chowder- be such a disgusting train wreck. C’mon Salty’s ! You have had the time to fine tune a simple dish like this, but NO!. Tge seafood chowder is a tasteless, thick, lukewarm flour-filled paste with indistinguishable bits of sea shards. How could you screw this up so bad and call yourself a seafood restaurant!
