Killer food and excellent brews!

By Stratotone |

I was in San Pedro visiting friends and checking out Charles Bukowskis last hang out and we ended up downtown San Pedro for lunch! We picked this place for the brews but the food was just as good! Ahi Tuna Sandwich with sesam seed sauce and avocado, just perfect... a big filet of tuna, blackened on the outside, raw and juicy inside! Decent priced, great atmosphere and the service was just as good as the food! I definitly stop by next time I'm Bukowski's neighbourhood! Cheers:-)

It's the Beer

By bollbar |

Draft Beer is my Favorite. San Pedro Brewing Company has it, great food too. I'm vegetarian and I love their salads and garlic bread. I use a lot of lemon slices in my beer, prevents hangover (anti-oxidant) and delicious. Excellent service.

Great food, service could be improved

By TravelerJenny8 |

We found this location by visiting Trip Advisor. The location is actually in San Pedro, not Los Angeles. We requested to sit in the outdoor covered seating, which was lovely except that the televisions were really loud and the sound did not match any of the tv's in this area. Odd, The food was very good, but the service was slow. We wanted to get to the beach, so we kept our orders simple. The restaurant was clean and fun to visit. I'm glad we checked it out. Try one of their microbrews too!

Great place for craft beer lovers.

By Windymillers |

Great selection of their own craft beers, great range from pilsner to wheat beer to stouts to blood orange. Didn't eat but food looked like your average bar grub. Good local vibe

Slightly disappointed.

By Kenmarsam |

The food was good, but not great. They didn’t have the large selection of beer they had listed on their website they were out of several beers on the menu as well. They were out of one of their daily specials as well.

Great Food and award winning Beers

By LorriJ |

San Pedro Brewing has award winning brews but my favorite is their Pilsner...very tasty. The Ortega Beef Burger is excellent as was the Cobb salad...service was excellent.

Groups Welcome

By Barheat |

I organized a pre cruise dinner for 40 people through Cruise Critic. Owner James Brown reserved a set of tables for us for 4:30pm. We ordered from the "Hoppy Hour" menu including slider and fries and half order of calamari. I was happy to find a good cider on tap. With such a large group separate checks were too much work. Instead checks were issued per table. About half the group took up James offer for a tour of the brewery. Everyone seemed to be happy with the food, tour and meeting fellow cruise passengers.

Love it!

By Abby M |

Great owners. Great drinks. Food is delish. The only place you need to go in the San Pedro area. If you're lucky, you'll even get some live music.

BEYOND PHENOMENAL!

By JGMScottsdale |

This was our first time visit; absolutely LOVED EVERYTHING about this So Cal treasure; TRULY EXCELLENT service, ambiance, menu options, food portions and quality, and some of the FINEST craft beer that we have experienced worldwide! This is ABSOLUTELY a MUST place to try and then make it a favorite place to eat & drink! Guaranteed you will NOT be disappointed!

Great Happy Hour!

By musicgrl_83 |

I just dropped by for happy hour after a long day. The atmosphere is chill, they have a lot of different beers on tap, and it seems like there are a lot of regulars. The food was good and the prices for happy hour are very reasonable. I will definitely go back again! Kid-friendly too if not there at a busy time.

Great location and nice place for a brew and appetizer

By duffer47 |

Walking from motel to port. Stopped for a beer and nachos. Sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air. Great service and nachos were delicious and large enough for 4. Good menu also.

Disappointed

By Michelle D |

My husband and I are in our mid 60’s and love to support local and try out breweries in other places. We Stayed in San Pedro pre cruise. Checked trip advisor for the local favorites. We went to this brewery knowing it would have a bar like atmosphere. But the language of some older gentlemen at the bar was more than we could handle. Also they were talking down to a lady waitress that seemed really uncalled for even if she was used to it. (The gentlemen seemed like they might be regulars). The food was OK not great. I do t think we would go there again or recommend it to anyone.

Good Family Dinning

By Helena L |

We enjoyed a great family dinner. Food was good and the staff were very friendly. The salmon and avocado salad was delicious as were the wings as a starter. The boys had the children's menu which was good value for money. My husband was a little non-plused by his Tri Top but he was in the minority. Beers are brewed on site and they serve a good selection of local Californian brews. Overall an enjoyable evening dinner meal and well worth checking out if in San Pedro.

Better than just pub food and with great friendly service

By Sailing_Sweetie |

I stopped in here to have a bite for lunch and it has a nice pub feel and a good variety on the menu for both vegans and carnivores. I had the cobb salad with shrimp which was a special order without any problems (I don't like chicken). Good selections of brews and the salad was excellent. I would come back here again. My salad was 13 dollars so a very good price for a salad with lots of shrimp.

Nice place to down a few brews; so so happy hour

By baaaaaaa |

Good selection of brews and martinis. Happy hour special not so hot. 1/2 wings for $3.95 for happy hour (4 wings). Tuesday maritinis special all day at $6.95 each. The key lime and eat a peach were very good. The brews were average ... Recommend the stout (served only in 12 oz glasses, no pitchers). Metered parking until 6pm. Went there after work and no crowds...but when we left around 8:30 the place was full. Service was very attentive...glasses never got empty.

Worth Checking Out

By Gregory W |

This was our first time here. It was a Monday but there was a good sized crowd. Still, my wife and I got a table quickly but it would have been nice if there were a hostess. Service was a bit slow but once I got the attention of a waitress everything was fine. I decided to have a local stout which was very good. I also had a brewery burger with gafrey fries. They were good too. There are also a lot of TVs so if you want sports this is a good place. If we are back in the area, we will come back.

Great!

By Cindy V |

We walked from the Crown Plaza. The staff was friendly, the brew good and the food fantastic! We highly recommend this place for food and brew. We drank the “Dark Void” and it ranked a 4 out of 5 for dark beers we have had. The food portions were very generous. Definitely worth the short walk.

GREAT atmosphere and food

By Tami M |

We just keep going back there for the atmosphere and food. We have gotten mostly burgers there because they have great flavor and are large! We love their fries and my son loves their grilled cheese! Always quick and the waitresses and waiters are always so friendly. My husband loves testing every beer they have!

Great food and atmosphere

By Rebna |

Great wide choice of food options, the calamari and the hickory burger especially good. Wide choice of beers. Service efficient and friendly. Typical American bar/restaurant with sport on the TVs, great atmosphere.

My "happy" place to lunch with girlfriends

By Mary G |

I can always count on San Pedro Brewing Company for a lively atmosphere, friendly service, great food and an awesome martini. It is my "happy" place to meet girlfriends for lunch during the week. S.P. Brewery has much to choose from on their lunch menu, but I usually get my favorite: a very substantial, tasty and juicy swordfish sandwich. They also have some delicious "comfort" food items, including mac n' cheese, potato salad and sweet potato French fries. Their martini menu is fabulous and it features some very imaginative fruity and sweet renditions, as well as the best traditional cosmo that I've ever had. Gummie worms are optional free additions for the martinis. A little colorful wormy friend atop one of the fruitier martinis is quite a visual and culinary treat. The food and drink prices at the Brewery are very reasonable, especially given the portion sizes. The casual, friendly atmosphere is most conducive to unwinding. The only downside I can think of is the parking; be sure to bring quarters along for street parking. A small price to pay for a fun place to relax and enjoy some great food and drink.

Great linch

By Janus Egenby |

Was here for a sunday lunch and it was great, i had a perfekt brisket sandwich and a coupple of local beers 👍🏻 Service was also perfekt.

By Its the Dan S |

And fresh beer and really good bar food great place. Nice people . The beer was delicious. The food was absolutely amazing I love their happy hour

Great find

By Kenneth Q |

The wife and I shared some appetizers here while staying at the Crowne Plaza before a cruise. We had the special fries and chicken wings along with a great brew. The service was fast and friendly too. We'll come back again.

Good local brew pub

By Hitcher84 |

Established brew pub with a good food menu and nice specials. I liked the Shanghai Red best. At $7 a pint, a little pricey. Good food selection. I had the quesadilla, not great but ok. Sort of chain restaurant quality food. The best thing is the specials. Margarita Monday’s, martini Tuesday’s, whiskey Wednesday’s. $6 whiskey specials. Bands on some nights. A fun place. They gave a patio. On street parking.

Fresh swordfish, and home brewed beer! How cool is that!

By ra4fda |

This is an historic building with a great brewery and great food. I used to work down the street from this place but moved away about 5 years. Back in LA for work, and took the time to drive to San Pedro to see if it was still so good. I now live in the Midwest and fresh swordfish, if you can even find it, costs a fortune. So when I saw the swordfish sandwich for under 8 bucks, i said give me one with garlic fries and a cold home brew. It looked so good I took a picture, but then at the first bite, I knew this fish had been swimming not to long before it cooked. Firm, but tender and charcoal grilled, Wow! Take the trip south on the Harbor freeway, go to San Pedro and turn left on 6th St. Well worth the drive!

Brews & Buddies

By cdenoi |

Like other reviews, we went here after touring the USS Iowa.....beer selection was tasty & varied. Food selection offered something for everyone & our group all really enjoyed their selections....enjoy!

Just what we were looking for

By TravelingBBoomers |

We met a friend that we hadn’t seen in many years. They put us in the back, which was much quieter than the front. Good selection of beers, both homegrown and outside. My IPA was excellent. Food was very good (I had the Turkey Pot Pie). The best part was that our server kept an eye on us but didn’t rush us in any way, so we could have a relaxed meal and catch up with our friend. Very friendly staff all around.

Worst Service Ever!

By SouthernCalMan |

My three friends and I went here for dinner and to see a local band. When we arrived, we were told it would be 20 min wait for a table. We ended up waiting 1.5 hours and had to remind the hostess three times that we were there waiting. She even seated other people ahead of us who had only waited a few minutes. We had to get our own drinks at the bar and when we asked for dinner menu's, we were told the wait staff was about to get off for the night...at 9pm??? We finally got served one appetizer and watched the band for a set. The wait staff were all still there working away and ignoring our table. The place emptied out pretty fast and now I know why. The only people left were the local drunks at the bar. The owner was walking around trying to look busy but he was totally out of sync with his staff. Never ever going here again.

Great Vibe

By Ulon M |

They have an excellent selection of micro brewery beers and brew their own speciality beers. Love the vibe. Bartenders Nick and Darren are great. Burgers are awesome. My favourite in the menu is the Cajun chicken shrimp pasta and bread pudding.

Great place to eat

By Luvtheoceandjtx2 |

Went here pre cruise as it was near Best Western Plus in San Pedro. Was so happy we did. Food was great, extensive micro brew list and great attentive service. Prices were also reasonable. Stop in you won’t be disappointed.

Good venue to watch a game of sport

By Globalwalker1 |

Drinks were good, priced fairly. Food was also good and priced fairly. Staff are friendly and quick for service. Neighbourhood is safe and close to ship terminal and long beach

Out of beer!

By Jet795458 |

Very disappointing visit. We purposely chose this restaurant for the craft beer. When we arrived at 5:45 p.m., they were out of every beer I wanted to try. They only had IPA, which I don't drink, and two types of blonde beer, which were both not to my liking. I ended up drinking ice water. The fish and chips were pretty bland, and the fish batter was saturated in grease. The coleslaw was wilty and bland. My husband's teriyaki chicken sandwich was good. If we ever visit this area again, I will definitely try a different restaurant.

New place for dinner - not sure we will return

By RememberWhenAJ |

We wanted to dine somewhere new so selected this restaurant. Our server was attentive. We ordered BLT, Carne Asada fries and Chicken, Pineapple, Teriyaki sandwich. The food took forever. The Carne Asada fries arrived first and were cold. About 10 minutes later the other 2 dishes arrived. The BLT was cold as it should be. The sandwich was cold although the cheese was melted on it. The Mac N Cheese that came with it, was cold as well. I got up to speak to a man near the entrance who was very apologetic and offered to bring soup/salad in the meantime while our new plates were being made - we declined. It took about 15 minutes to bring out the sandwich by this time 1 of us was done eating. We were rummaging in our purses for cash to leave on the table for the BLT and we just would leave and go elsewhere. No pineapple this time. We ate our sandwich. The nice man offered a desert at no charge. When the bill came they didn't charge for the sandwich, but, did for the desert. We then waited 17 minutes for the slice of cake to arrive - to go. We were just standing up to leave and figured we would just leave without it, when it arrived. Although the man was very kind and tried to make it right, the wait time for food seemed unreasonable.

Good choice.

By gillod |

Good beer and wine, good choice of food. Near our hotel - the Crowne Plaza. There did not seem to be much choice of restaurants in the area but we were happy with this one. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

Super Festive

By Ulon M |

Popped in for an appetizer and a beer. It got crowded quickly and the vibe was so enjoyable. Jackie remembered my drinks order and was super on the mark with a crazy happy hour. The artichoke dip and hickory happy hour sliders were amazing. Go Jackie and Darren!! You brought it on and I stayed longer just because you guys rocked the house! See you soon!

Great Service and Food

By DMR-2011 |

We had dinner here recently and it was terrific. We had salads and if we knew how big they were, we would have split one. Also tried the Gaffey Fries - which came recommended by our server - worth the calories! Staff was really terrific.

Excellent food reasonably priced

By Ed S |

The burger actually turns out the way most restaurants have pictures of their burgers. A good 1/2 pound of meat with all the fresh toppings. The bun is special baked and not the chain supply type. Highly recommend.

Great Place Up The Road

By Squaxer13 |

Came in for a nice lunch & was not disappointed first off their BBQ chicken fillets are amazing the sauce is so good this is the 2 time we have been here in one trip love it 😀

San Pedro Brewing Company6

By Peedropal |

This the only brew pub in San Pedro, and a worthy stop. While the beer is good if they have brewed what you are looking for (they tend towards the lighter beers, while I am porter and stout man), we go for the food. Having tried them all, the brew pub has absolutely the best hamburger available in San Pedro. And the kitchen also produces what could well be the best fried calamari in Pedro, which, being a fishing town, has calamari on every menu. On weekends they have a live band on stage starting at 8pm; the music fills the space more than adequately (meaning way too loud for my ears), so we plan to have our draft beers and burgers and get out before the music starts. The bar itself has few empty seats, and tends to concentrate on the sports on TV. The tables are centrally located (even a booth), and in quieter nooks away from the TV. There is even an outdoor patio along the street in front. For lunch it is very kid friendly, and many local families can be found here when school is out. It is located in the oldest building in San Pedro, and the décor is "historic" and the feeling "funky." This is a "locals place" but others are made to feel welcome as long as they have toleration for a less than classy spot; no white tablecloths here, and if you just got off a cruse ship, you might be surprised with how local it really is.

Great spot for lunch in old town San Pedro

By yowimp |

Dropped in for lunch and a beer. Great selection of craft beers - the IPA was hoppy the way my wife likes it - I had a hefeweizen - nice and cloudy. My wife had a calamari Greek salad - crispy lettuce and olives and deep fried calamari. I had the ahi sandwich which included big slices of avocado with tomato and a ginger sauce. The bread was grilled and then buttered it seems Delicious. Friendly and efficient service.

Overall a great experience.

By HWpak |

I was visiting relatives in the San Pedro area and wanted a night cap and bar food. The SP Brewing Company was a perfect selection. Beer was good, the food was tasty and the atmosphere was fun. I would go back again.

Just the ticket for a meal before a cruise

By Susan R |

We arrived in San Pedro about lunch time, and wanted to check this out as a possibility for dinner later when friends arrived. Both meals were very good, served quickly and by friendly knowledgeable servers, and the casual pub atmosphere was perfect for us. If we lived here this would be a regular spot. Everyone enjoyed their meals! Prices reasonable too.

Okay, nothin special.

By Summerasalifestyle |

Staff is good. Food is just okay, nothin special. Slow service but it was acknowledged and made right as best they could (comped drinks, appetizer) Walked distance from marina. In a gentrified area for restaurants- coffee shops

Good food , good service, and excellent drinks!

By vickaroo2 |

Really enjoyed dinner here. The food was good, the atmosphere is fun, and the service was great. Their long island iced tea is really good too.

Great Place

By BarkleyFizz |

I loved this place, so much I returned 3 times! I was working in the area for a few days and it was my first time in the US, let alone San Pedro! Whilst I was in the US I wanted to eat US food, not other stuff. This was the place that granted my wishes. The food was excellent every visit. Certainly more than enough and excellent quality. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed and there was plenty of sport on which I really enjoyed. As for the beer, perfect. The IPAs were a little strong for my liking, but it's great to try different beers. If you're in the San Pedro neighborhood, a visit to this place is a no brainer.

Nice Brew Pub

By tylerthomas |

Close to Crowne Plaza and had a decent choice of locally brewed beers. Food was better than average pub fare. Has a sports bar type of atmosphere and gets a bit rowdy as the evening progresses with an active crowd.

Great Menu

By 1aCruise4wks |

During our most recent stay in San Pedro, CA (Los Angeles) we ended up eating at the San Pedro Brewing Company three times. They have a very broad menu covering everything from Bar Food to Main Entrees. The first night I had Baby Back Ribs. They were done perfectly, falling off the bones, and the sauce was just right. The next time we stopped in for lunch and I had the Quesadillas with Chicken. They served me four large Quesadillas and they were loaded - very tasty. My next time there I had a Cheeseburger with Fries - another great meal. In keeping with its name, the place has the atmosphere of a brewery - real down to earth. So, if you're looking for a fancy restaurant, this isn't it. I'm not into Craft Beers so I won't try to judge their beers. They have a few major brand bottled beers - I went with Corona; my wife went with Coors Light. The service was top notch, always there when you needed something but not overbearing. Next time I'm in San Pedro, I will definitely eat at the San Pedro Brewing Company!

Good food

By RPVTravelmore |

First of all, this is located in San Pedro, not Los Angeles. Secondly, the food is very good. I had the salmon salad. It was a good size and reasonably priced. It was very flavorful. Others had the creamy chicken pasta. Very rich, but very good. Theirs came with either soup or salad. I had a taste of my husband lobster bisque, also very good. The only negative ( if I had to come up with one) is that they were out if the seasonal beer to complete the flight, and the flight seemed priced a little high compared to the price if a full size beer. There were plenty if TVs, and the restaurant was clean and service was goid.

A great little place to go when you're in San Pedro!

By 1olddude |

We've ate here a few times. When we stay over night at the Crowne Plaza while waiting for our cruise ship, we walk the 2 blocks up the street and join the locals. The food is good, the atmosphere is lively, and they make you feel welcome!

Great hand crafted brews!

By tmleader |

Nestled in downtown San Pedro is a great place to get a home crafted beer and some awesome food. Close to the waterfront and the newly welcomed Battleship Iowa, this is a locals favorite but a very welcome place to those visiting. The food menu is really good with lots of tasty dishes. My favorite is the swordfish and the roasted potatoes are awesome. Tri-tip is high on my list as well. The lunch menu gets changed up here and there and they have daily specials. I have not had one bad meal here. You got to try the Gaffey Fries too. It is a full bar but if you're a beer drinker you'll have many choices in their hand crafted beers that are created on site. Longshoreman Lager, SoCal Chocolate Porter, Angels Gate Ale, Point Fermin Pale Ale, Shanghi Red and the Harbor hefeweizen is my favorite. The beers are changed up here and there yet they have their local favorites all the time. Try the beer sampler first. They do have happy hours with discounts on pitchers. There are Tv's and a big screen to watch your favorite games and nightly entertainment. Sometimes on weekends there may be a cover charge although this is usually later at night when the band gets going. There is also a covered outside patio as well. It's the not the biggest place and get a bit congested at night. But if your from San Pedro, you'll always run into someone you know. It's an older building in downtown and has the nautical charm to it. It is walking distance to the ocean front and the new battleship tour and marine museum. The parking out front is metered but free on Sundays and after 6:00 daily. You can also park across the street in the courthouse lot which is metered as well. Bring quarters. You can walk the street checking out the local shops and history of San Pedro. On every 1st Thursday is the downtown Art Walk and Food Truck extravaganza. Then stop by the Brewery for a cold one. More info can be found at www.sanpedrobrewing.com

Reasonable foid

By Dibbbkk |

Sports bar with standard options available. The baby back ribs were very tender and recommended. We also ordered grilled chicken, which apparently was tender. Disappointing fries - cold and soggy. Noisy but entertaining atmosphere

Great place to meet friends.

By davesondeck |

Took the brewery tour, which isn't much, but interesting time-killer. The brews were tasty & our group of 16 all thought the food was very good & reasonably priced. One of the appetizers "Slider & chips" got a lot of laughs as the fries kind of dwarfed the tiny burger. I've posted a photo of it. I'd like to return with fewer friends & spend more time eating & less time drinking & partying. :-)

Good Beer - Food - Service

By Kim K |

On a hot day, we arrived for supper and sat on the patio which was cool enough to be pleasant. We had a pint of the Black Lager; it was yummy. The Red was also good. It was Monday so we took advantage of the SPBC beer and burger deal. My husband had a cheeseburger and I had the same with grilled onions and special sauce. Both burgers were cooked Medium and we're very flavorful - they use good meat. My husband had sweet potato fries which were acceptable and I had regular fries which, we both agreed, were very good. Our server was a pro and helped us feel right at home. She let us sample beers til we found the Lager since they were out of the 3 we would've otherwise chosen to drink. It was a good meal and a nice experience. I recommend giving both beer and food a try.

Great meeting place

By Louden77 |

We met here with others joining a cruise. Enjoyed the brewery tour and stayed foe a couple of beers. Friendly lively atmosphere. Great place for a rendezvous and very convenient to the Crowne Plaza. Have a good time.

Best bbq tri tip and beer

By Sailing_Sweetie |

Lots of beer to choose from! The tri trip and veggies is great with large servings. Serve is fast and it's s busy place at 6pm. Lots of activity and noise....it's a pub! Enjoy the happy atmosphere.

Tasty Food & Friendly Staff

By hmac312310 |

One of my top picks when I'm in the area. I have fallen for one of their pasta dishes :-) But they have a surprisingly large menu of food and beer. I've seen them please the most discerning critic - 5yr old child. I joke, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't find something on the menu to try. They have both in house beers and standard beers to choose from. They also have different weekly specials.

A reasonably priced restaurant

By vikinggal |

Looking for a quick bite to eat, we stopped into the San Pedro Brewing Company. The atmosphere is old time tile floor, wood bar, etc. but the food and service were excellent. I had the angus sliders with French fries, my husband had calamari. Both were good and well priced. Even though we sat at a table, not the bar, we received happy hour discount on our drinks.

Walking Distance From the Crown Plaza

By Indi237 |

I was staying nearby and walked down the street looking for a meal. I saw people seated outside and on a patio and wandered in. The brewery is taking COVID precautions. You need a mask to get to your table. There is a neo display on the table from which you can pull up the menu. The barstools are gone and there was no live music, but TVs all over were playing taped sports. I was unsure what beer to choose, so Jessica brought me, three tasters. I chose the Red IPA. I picked the Seared Ahi open-faced sandwich. It was tasty and came with a choice of sides. The French fries were okay, but I chose not to eat them all. I think this is probably a favorite of locals. It was kid and family-friendly. The food was good and so was the service. I will be back.

More napkins please

By James R |

We came to restaraunt- quickly sat down. Person at bar was nice, and our server came to get our orders. She seemed a bit upset when Grandfather (jokingly) said he was keeping the menu... I wonder why 🤔. Then she brought us our food- which is definitely an experience I haven't had at restaurants before- the food was good- so was the corn. They should change the menu so it says BBQ sauce with a side of ribs instead of ribs with a side of BBQ sauce. Then we left. 6.83/10. Feels like morgan wallen would eat here- Thanks for bringing us our food Jessica.

Good food

By MikeWandaTravel |

We visited San Pedro on 1st Thursday's Artwalk and tried San Pedro Brewing. They had a German Marching band playing loud fun music. The wait was about 30 minutes but went fast with cold beer. We had the steak kabobs which were delicious.

A great, solid choice for good food and drinks in San Pedro's historic downtown

By SACNORAD |

This place is a definite winner for food and drinks - offering a good menu, beer selections and a great location in a historic building in the historic core of San Pedro. Can't go wrong with much of the menu, and there is often live music playing. Friends who like brewery food and drinks always appreciate a trip here. It's a real gem in our town.

microbrewery with good food

By Douglas S |

We went there for dinner. It is a bit off the main street and I am not sure that I would want to walk through the neighborhood after dark but we had a very pleasant experience there. They have a limited selection of their local brews but I found one, with the server's help, that I thoroughly enjoyed. The food is really the star here and the menu had some unusual options for dinner. The restaurant was dark but not too dark and had a neighborhood bar vibe. If we find ourselves in San Pedro again, we will definitely go back to this restaurant.

Great Pub in San Pedro

By Bradley O |

Stopped by for dinner during our stay at the Crowne Plaza down the street. Found this amazing pub! The service was super quick and the food was delicious. Ordered Salmon and Swordfish, which came a huge salad and two sides, they were both delicious! There were also a large number of beers to try on tap - we don’t drink beer, but they did look good. I would recommend this spot for dinner and drinks if you are in San Pedro!

Worth the Visit!

By Trinity b |

Husband and I went for some beer- Darren was our server! He was so great!! Super personable, funny, and very good at his job! I snacked on some nachos! They were great! I had the 1/2 order for happy hour and they were cheap, but delicious! They also had great jugs of beer and for good prices! Atmosphere was great! Variety of people with decent background music!! Loved it! Would go again! Could have stayed here awhile if I didn't have some place to be! Darren... you're fantastic! Thanks!!

Good Dinner Great Beer

By Skipaccess |

We are visiting out son in San Pedro and decided to check out the San Pedro Brewing Company for a beer and dinner. The atmosphere was sports pub and lively. The service was exceptional and the food excellent. The craft beer was very good and we purchased a mini-growler to take home. We have visited at least six other breweries along the California coast in the last two weeks and this had the best service by far. The steak was perfect and the large portions could not leave you hungry. I heartily recommend this place for a beer and dinner.

Fantastic bar!!

By Tracew |

Can’t vouch for the food but this was our ‘go to’ bar during our stay in San Pedro. Great atmosphere, fabulous friendly staff and very reasonable. Don’t let this bar pass you by!!

good local pub with a great atmosphere

By Antony B |

I had the prime rib special which was great value for money the staff were friendly there was a great selection of their own brewed beers which were good value and very tasty

Great Dinner

By Doniece N |

After touring the USS Iowa we dined at a cute pub, complete with exposed brick and old pictures. We started our dining experience with a pitcher of their brewed beer, rimmed with citrus fruit...yum. For dinner our party of four ordered a Ruben, fettuccine, a mixed green salad, and shrimp spicy pasta. We tasted, we compared, we slurped, and decided this place needed a five star rating. Service was efficient and accommodating to splitting one order. We will return.

Reliably decent and filling food, great beer, locals' favorite

By Sharona |

This is a busy place I have patronized for years, much loved by the locals from all walks of life. I've never had a bad meal there. The service can be uneven, depending on the enthusiasm level of current wait-staff. The Hefeweizen is always great, and the happy hour menu offers a very reasonably priced ($5 per plate) introduction to the Brewing Co's fare. Another visitor commented that it is "off the main street" - most Pedrans would see that block of 6th and the parallel block of 7th as being the heart of downtown San Pedro.

Best Food, service and drinks

By Lini999 |

We are from Oz and each tme we visit San Pedro will always come to this place for their great service, drinks and food. The best thing are the ribs. We found the appertiser portion was great. The chicken buffalo legs were also great. The staff are amazing. Would recommend it to everyone.

Happy hour visit

By WesternGardener |

Went to have a meal and ended up there during their happy hour. Servers were personable and food came quickly. Great prices on house wine and various beer choices, in addition to choices that included tasty calamari and Buffalo wings. Pleasant enough atmosphere, but would not return for a second visit. Just didn't cut the mustard.

Hoping for more, WAY more!

I always make it a point to frequent local brewpubs whenever I am on vacation just to see how other places rate among my favorites. San Pedro Brewing Co just didn't have much of anything going to make me remember it. Wife and kids had soup salad combo which was just ok. BLT was standard. Yes it's a brewery, so I can't diss it completely because of food. What really concerns me was their beer. I homebrew so I know what a craft beer should be and frankly their sampler fell flat. Not one standout, solid body, well balanced beer. I expect craft brewing to be better than your average BJ's Restaurant but this was lacking in body AND flavor. Usually I find one or two that are just OK but the entire sampler barley pulled that off. For the pricing of some of their food, you would expect upscale, not diner level food. As much as I love trying out breweries, I can forgive on food as it's not what your there for,, but subpar beer is just not acceptable. Sorry SPBC, I can't recommend this place. Maybe a drive over to Long Beach in search of a solid brew is in order next visit.

Early dinner.

By fdelorenzo |

Getting an early bite before new years. SPBC has enlarged beer selection to 20 taps. Their own brew plus many others. Tri - tip sandwich with garlic fries hit the spot. A SPBC red ale followed by an El Segundo pine tar IPA tasted great!.

Get the Salmon!!

By LwindVta |

We visited this restaurant for dinner after touring the USS Iowa Battleship moored at Los Angeles harbor. I had the grilled salmon sandwich and my friend had the grilled salmon salad. Our meals were very tasty. The salmon was tender and deliciously seasoned. Everyone in our group of 10+ people enjoyed their meals (especially the guy who got the Gaffey fries: whats not to likr about bacon bits, scallions, cheese and spices in crispy fries?) Great special: 99 cent draft beer (lots of great flavors) with purchase of any burger or chicken sandwich. Usually only on Fridays, but ER got it on Sunday.

THE BEST!

By spice2life |

We've lived in San Pedro for a year and a half and this has become our regular place for dining if we don't want to cook. Have eaten here 40+ times and take our visiting friends here when they come. It's a rare occasion that our dinner isn't really good (I'm not crazy about the pastas). They work hard to make sure their chefs consistently prepare the menu items the same way. The staff are friendly and want to make sure you are satisfied.

Bar restaurant

This was quite an out of the way surprise. Very good food, reasonable price but expensive drinks. It was great.

Great Brew & Food!

By CanyonGirly |

Made a point to visit on a recent trip to Downtown San Pedro. Nice selection of beer and pretty fantastic menu! We ordered wings, shrimp & avocado ceviche, and chips and salsa. All three were awesome! We ordered a flight too and by far my favorite was the amber. My sister-in-law ordered a Key Lime Pie Martini which was to die for too! Within walking distance of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, big plus!

Good Beer, Awesome Staff

By Em H |

The staff was super friendly - thank you Chelsea. The beer was great. We only ordered a salad which was really good. I cannot comment on the other food.

Burgers and beer rocked!!

By bbunch04 |

Great little pub! Quick service. Patty melt rocked!

Sadly this visit turned out to be was a distressed purchase as there was little availability close to our hotel.

By Richard S |

A meal of two halves, Chicken breast in BBQ sauce as good, so was the lentil soup however the fish and chip offering was well below average. The batter was soggy and exceeded the fish in quantity. The fish was tasteless and a complete disappointment.

Good Pub Food

By iahmb |

After a long day on News Years Eve, we headed here for some comfort food. We were able to sit on the patio and the heaters took care of the nip in the air. Food was good and service was spot on.

For us - Great beers and good food!

By JackR46 |

I enjoy craft beers. I seldom get down to this area, so I checked out some reviews on various sites first. I was a little concerned, as there were a number of negative reviews about service here (especially on yelp). I made reservations for early on a Saturday night (6:15). We easily found parking on the street right outside the restaurant - there also is a parking lot up the street). We were seated promptly upon arrival. Our server (Chelsea) was prompt and efficient. I enjoy a very wide variety of brews, so normally I will try the "taster sampler" (when available) when at a brew pub or micro brewery for the first time. I enjoyed every one of the six samples - from the pale ale and the hef, the spiced pumpkin ale and the porter, but especially the imperial stout. My wife and I both had the tri-tip for dinner - which was nicely prepared. Great "old fashioned" potato salad with large slices/chunks of potatoes. We are definitely looking forward to bringing some friends here next visit.

San Pedros Cheers

By Mermaidsmom |

Great place to meet up with friends! Multiple screens so you won't miss your game(s)! Older building with a cozy second-home feel. Probably the best spinach-artichoke dip in the world! Sandwiches & burgers are sized to share...or go ahead & pig out! No one will judge you! Nice beverage selection with knowledgeable mixologists. Nice homey place to unwind and family friendly...and...they have Fugu!!! (Quality vodka - habanero infused) Ample free parking.

Heart Of Downtown Pedro.

By DavidCarpenter |

Simple pub style food done well. Good local vibe, reasonably good micro brews, attentive wait staff. A Pedro landmark.

Great place for a college reunion, including families

By CirquedeGervais |

Met up with a group of college friends here after many years - it turned out to be the perfect venue. Tons of things to keep the youngsters happy, good music and sports playing for the older "kids" while moms and dads managed to sample a couple amazing beers along with burgers, salads and appetizers. Relaxed-but-prompt staff can modify menu items if needed. A great venue that led to a great afternoon.

Excellent restaurant

By Frank F |

We went for dinner the night before our cruise. Great food, excellent, friendly service and reasonable prices. Also a very diverse menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

A unique brewery to visit.

By Sheila E |

The beer offered was very good and a large list to chose from. Food was served promptly and was good. They have a small outside patio. This brewery is close to the San Pedro Cruise Port.

great spot .. great evening spot for a good meal

By CCurtis_11 |

the meatloaf is amazing.. I have had it a couple times over our visits around the corner.. and they have cider, which is a good thing since I don't drink beer :)

Try the San Pedro Iced Tea

By Dt_Wo55 |

Stopped in for a cold drink while exploring a bit of San Pedro and had one of their San Pedro Iced Teas. It was very good! Had great service in a nice, clean pub.

Good burger, good beer

By misterjohnny |

What more do you need? Plus lots of TVs. Went here on a Sunday afternoon in football season, place was packed. They have their own brews plus a few bottle choices. Full bar for those who don't want a beer. Burgers were good, fries just okay.

GOOD CASUAL DINNING CHOICE IN SAN PEDRO

By SeaFish |

Overall Good Pub Grub! Service a bit spotty on a Sunday night with a full house of noisy patrons. Food & beverage all fine at reasonable prices. Good location within easy walking distance of Crowne Plaza Hotel. Definitely worth a try when staying in San Pedro.

Horrible food & customer service

By Marisahoods |

We were on this trip as vendors for a huge car show- after a 6 hour drive from Northern California our bar drinks were wrong, garlic for the artichoke appetizer was burnt & bitter, the ceviche had no citrus in it (ceviche is based on lemon & lime juice) our party of 15 was talked down to by security & then told to "calm down" When I expressed my concern as not only a patron but a restaurant server/asst mgr the GM was unconcerned & flaked us off. Considering for 3 of us our check was $100 I expected more out of this place... At least a concern & apology whe the extremely rude staff was out of hand!! Never would I have ever treated my restaurant customers I this manner! Bad food, wrong bar drinks and rude staff! Never again!!

Happy English Tourists

By Chris C |

We were in San Pedro prior to boarding a cruise. We looked for a happy hour near our hotel and this “pub” was listed We sat at the bar and had a house pilsners and a pino gris which were both great . We also had a house cocktail more wine and some amazing garlic Parmesan chicken ribs. We had intended to find somewhere else to eat but after more drinks we asked to see the house menu. To cut the story short we had shrimp taco’s, won ton with dipping sauce and a chicken Caesar salad….. all of which were amazing Well done everyone who made our afternoon such a great experience

Ok for watching Sports

By Michael B |

Small brew bar in San Pedro, little street parking so park across the street in large metered lot. Perfect Bar to meet friends to watch a sports event, unfortunately has a limited range of craft beers and most of the Food is the usual fried stuff. Staff very nice and place is overall pretty clean.

Nice Night Out

By ChiefMikeLebanon_Ore |

This was a nice place to eat and have a craft brew. We were in town only one night getting ready to leave on a cruise. Walked here from the hotel. They have a great selection of food and beer. We were a group of 8 with a variety of tastes and they had something that fit for everyone.

Comfort food and good beer

By Kevin M |

I have been to San Pedro Brewing Co several times during the last few years with consistent experiences. The food is good with relatively large portions. Garlic fries were standout. The beer selection is quite good. We tried two in house brews and one from El Segindo (all ipas) and they were very good. Recommend this for group dinners. We took the hotel shuttle but parking is available. I thought it felt safe at night but use your judgement as other reviewers have felt differently. Full disclosure, I grew up in San Pedro and think it is definitely safer downtown now compared to growing up in the 80s and 80s

Good dinner choice

By Pam J |

Stopped in for happy hour and dinner on a visit to Long Beach. Happy Hour pricing wasn't a great deal, but reasonable. Server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the salmon salad with avocado and my husband a chicken sandwich. Portions were ample and the sandwich was huge. The salad was amazing and its understandable why its a favorite. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich would also recommend the Tri Tip sandwich that he had on previous visit. There aren't many restaurant choices in this area, but I would definitely return. The restaurant has a fun vibe and it seems there are many regulars.

Great Pre-Cruise night out

By billstrang |

Situated less than 1 mike from LA Cruise Terminal - brew their own beer, great atmosphere, loads of sports screen, food really good

GREAT great great food!

By Boston-Terriers |

Walked from our hotel and it wass well worth it....very good home soups, and the shrimp and fries was a very large portion, so much I could not eat it all, but very good. My husband had the cajun meatloaf and he also enjoyed his meal very much. It is a bit on the noisy side on a Friday night but it is a tavern/brewery.....so have a beer and enjoy the food!

You have got to go

By David M |

Followed Tripadvisor advice and went to this iconic American brew bar and restaurant - selection of beers (many locally brewed) great and the food selection was extensive and prices very reasonable - service was friendly and the atmosphere was definitely local and not touristy - which we like

Great neighborhood bar with excellent beer and friendly people.

By Alan Tracy |

Great neighborhood bar, friendly people and lots going on. They night I was there they had a band, an art sale, and they were setting up for a big poker game. 8-10 excellent self brewed beers on tap.

Good Food with a Brewery

By Barheat |

We visited twice. The first was with a group. A section of the restaurant was reserved for us and we had a brewery tour before dinner. We got to see how they brew beer in small batches and taste a sample. We ordered from the "Hoppy Hour" menu. Slider and fries, half order of calamari and half order of chicken wings were lots for us. We finished off the meal by sharing the snickers pie. On our return visit we ordered the pulled pork sandwich. A generous portion of pork smothered in a sweet BBQ sauce was served on a mammoth bun with fries and cole slaw. It is the best bargain on the menu. Glad we decided to share the sandwich as it left room to try the key lime cheesecake. We found out that the desserts are brought in from an outside bakery. They were still very good. The atmosphere is a sports bar that serves their craft brews. While I was not enamored with the beer the food is definitely worth going back for. Others in the group tried the beer sampler.

Good food but beer not so good

By satxdiver |

Arrived in the San Pedro area and decided to walk from hotel to a restaurant when we saw the brew pub. I have been in many brew pubs in the US and have loved almost all of them. Good food and fresh beer are the mainstays. So we went there for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The TVs were all turned to the football games and the bar area was full. We found a table on the "patio{ - outside area between two buildings with an open front onto the street. It was quite nice as the temperature was in the low 70F's. I had the IPA and partner had the blonde since they were out of the red. Partner found the blonde to be really bland without much taste. I tried it and agreed. My IPA was certainly hoppy but that was about it. It really was not very tasteful. I visit brewpubs at home and on the road and I must say these two brews were about the most tasteless I have ever had. We did not order a second round! For lunch I had the Asian chicken salad which was very good with nice crisp lettuce and fresh ingredients and a really tasty dressing. Partner had the hamburger and judged it to be quite delicious. She had asked for a wheat bun but it appeared and tasted like a regular bun. So unless we just were given a bad brew batch, I would stay away from their brews and order the food. .

Nice Brewpub

By Zipdad |

One block safe walk from Crowne Plaza in San Pedro. Nice beer selections - many made in-house. Well varied menu. Food was excellent. Service was very good. Like an old time neighborhood saloon.

The local San Pedro version of ‘Cheers’ with an excellent range of local brewed beers.

By CDJDorset_UK |

This bar and restaurant was just up from our hotel and was our first experience of local food. We were drawn in by the extensive range of local craft beers many brewed on the premises. The atmosphere was a little like the ‘Cheers’ bar, they had a good food menu with a large choice of burgers, sandwiches and salads. Portions were generous and there was plenty for two of us to share. We’ve been a couple of times to sample some of the other beers, overall, I’d say this was well worth a visit.

Good Beer and Food on big problem

By LVJAKE |

Went here on the recommendation of a local hotel that we were staying at before a cruise. I tried the beer sampler and all the brews were very good. There a total of three couples and all enjoyed the food very much. The service was good except for one thing. When I put the tip on the slip I made a mistake and put 30% instead of 20%. I marked out the 30% amount wrote down the 20% amount and signed the credit slip I talked to someone because our server was not around and showed them my mistake and they said they would take care of it. Well they did not and we received our CC statement and they put in the 30% instead of the 20%. It is not a huge amount (5.00) but it is enough to warrant a low rating based on the action for this establishment.

Stumbled across this place

By Paul |

We were staying at the Crowne Plaza pre our cruise when we decided to venture out looking for a place to eat. After wondering around a couple of blocks we found this place. We headed inside and at first it appeared to have a "funky smell" to it, It turns out that's the vats brewing in the corner 😅 Food, service and drinks were all excellent. Reasonably priced so Highly recommend this place.

Always a Good Experience

By Bert P |

I often eat at San Pedro Brewing Company and I have never been disappointed. The food is tasty and reasonably priced, the staff is pleasant, and the menu is varied, guaranteeing that I will find something I like. I usually have a veggie burger or a seafood salad, both of which are great. If you're a sports fan, it's a great place to watch a game. If you're not, it doesn't overwhelm you with TVs where you feel out of place if you don't want to watch a game.

Hubby enjoyed the beer

By Elaine O |

Stopped in for lunch while in San Pedro. Hubby, a beer lover, appreciated the choices and thoroughly enjoyed his IPA. Lunch of salads was very good and plentiful. Service was prompt and friendly. Enjoyed the experience.

Cool Brewpub off the beaten path.

By Art48455 |

Over the bridges and through the ports to a very nice and clean brewpub. Very nice pub menu with a variety of tasty items. On tap they had 7 or 8 of their own beers and a handful of others. I had their Hefe and Pale Ale and both are at true to style and met my expectations. I also had the lunch trio (soup, salad & 1/2 sandwich) which was a little more food than what I thought it would be, so I was happy & full.

Great food and atmosphere.

By Ron W |

Had dinner here last night and the fact that we had to wait for a table tells its own story. The wait was well worth it though. Great menu makes it had to choose but settled for the chicken and rib combo. The best ribs I have ever had. Very friendly staff as well. They brew some of the beer on the premises as well and it is well worth sampling. Another gem of a restaurant in a small area so good we are going back again tonight.

Highly recommend!!

By Peter Grant |

If I could've given more than 5 stars, I would. The food was amazing, we had stuff brought to us by 5 different members of the wait staff, and they were all very friendly, and our server, Jocelyn, was an absolute delight!! Anytime we're anywhere near here, we'll be going back!

Great Beer Selection, Ridiculously Loud on Weekends

By Michelle R |

I work just around the corner and have been here several times. Sunday through Thursday the Brewery has one atmosphere, but Fridays and Saturdays it has a totally different one. During the week the Brewery is a great place to stop in for a quick beer, or to sit down and have a nice meal. Their draft beers change on a regular basis and there is always something new to try, as well as some of the constant house favorites. Their drinks are a little pricey, no more so than other places in la. They do offer full bar service, but their focus is definitely on their beers. During the week it functions more like a bar/restaurant in that those under 21 can still come in and sit and enjoy the food, especially during the lunch hours. On the weekend nights they have live music, and then the Brewery turns into a bar, with everyone carded at the door and the noise level going way up. I love coming here to sit and talk over a drink, but on the weekends that's impossible. They have an outdoor seating area, but even out there it's quite loud. You'll be raising your voice the entire time to be heard. Now, the shows are sometimes quite good, the bands change every week, and if you're into live music I'd definitely recommend checking out one of their shows. But be warned, don't come in expecting the calm and casual environment the Brewery usually is so great for on a weekend. It's still surprising to me how drastically the atmosphere changes with or without the live music. Without, on any given day, it's a great place to sit at the bar with a friend and a drink, a fun place for a date, or to bring a group of people. It's cozy while still feeling like a bar and having good food. With, it turns into a typical noisy bar where the floor is sticky and the bartender can barely hear your order. There is a small dance floor space, but usually it is not full. Also, their last call, even on nights with live music, is well before 2 and sometimes as early as 12:30. And once they say last call they expect you to leave within about 20 minutes. So if you come for a late night be prepared to hop over to one of the other local bars to finish off your night. Their location is right across the street from the historic Warner Grand theatre and just around the corner from the San Pedro Theatre Club, so it's great for dinner before a show or drinks after.

Good choice of beer

By Geoff B |

Called for a meal and had a mixed experience , my burger was fine but my son was disappointed with his , the description read boneless short rib , when it arrived it looked like shredded duck and was very dry . The beer was good though and they have a very good choice of their own brews .

great food, great beer, fun atmosphere !

By LarryZ096 |

local brewing company that wins a lot of awards.....big menu - burgers, salads, soups, sandwiches, pastas, steak, lots of appetizers.....sports on tv's....classoc rock in the background...looks like an old bar from boston or nyc.

Good neighborhood pub

By Gail V |

We stopped in here and we’re very hungry! We had the Buffalo chicken wings cooked to perfection and a burger with peppers and onion rings! Yummmm, there was nothing left on our plates. Dinner for 4 adults and 1 beer each was $90.00.

Nice Micro Brewery Bar

By Werbrichfamily |

We came into town to stay a few nights and were looking for a good restaurant. The TA ratings pointed us here. We enjoyed the house beers. The food was decent. We had the wings, cheddar fries, potstickers, and teriaki chicken sandwich. Service was good too. Not many people here on New Years Eve dinner, but it looks like it might be busy other nights. Overall, it was a good choice for us.
