We went for oysters, which is what we got! Fresh oysters with quality sauce, along with some side dished that were good with good drinks. Nice place.

Had heard that the seafood was very good, and tried the Happy Hour. Was not disappointed. (Happy Hour ends at 5:30.) Had a gin martini and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, two fish tacos and Szechuan Crispy Shrimp.

First, thank you Jake for the great service and the recommendations for drinks, wine and food. First time here, easy to find parking and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Jake recommended the margarita because I hate sweet drinks and it was so delicious. The hit the spot in recommending the white wine too. We will definitely go back again.

I forgot to review this restaurant when I was in La Jolla in March. Off the bat, Jocelyn our server was AMAZING! I can't thank her enough for her patience and attentiveness. I had made Wednesday 6:00 PM TOCK reservations for a party of 4. upon arrival, we were greeted and seated inside. The place has a nice laid back vibe to it with both indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I were meeting old friends we hadn't seen in a years. We all ordered drinks while catching up and looking over the menu. Jocelyn must of come over at least 4 time to ask us if we were ready, each time being super friendly and patient and expressing that she didn't want us to think she forgot about us. Finally, we decided on New England Clam Chowder with Clam Cakes, Oysters Rockefeller, Snake River Trout, Steamed Mussels, Wedge Salad, Maine Diver Scallops and the Wild Isles Salmon. When all the dishes came out, all looking great and tasting great. Our friends loved their soup, salad, salmon and scallops. By the time we finished eating and talking, there was only one other table with customers. LOL, we had closed the restaurant at 9:00PM. Atmosphere: great vibe for entertaining, hanging out. Service: excellent. Food: excellent.

Our group had the pasta dishes. So fresh ! They had a special tonight of swordfish meatballs on pasta. This wA super delish! All of us Loved our food. Our server was attentive and kind.

Great little gem a few blocks from the beach. We sat outside on the patio for perfect evening. We ordered the following: Oysters- east coast ones from Maryland and Virginia which are larger. Crispy shrimp- very tasty large shrimp with a great sauce. Focaccia bread- cooked in a cast iron pan so the bread was slightly crispy. Local Yellowtail- in a tomato coconut broth. Banana pudding

The Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill has it all: a warm and welcoming atmosphere, skilled serving staff, and top-notch dishes from the appetizers to the mains. The Hamachi Tiradito and Steamed mussels were excellent. The oysters were fresh and flavorful. The Crispy Mary's Chicken Cutlet was cooked and seasoned perfectly as were the Flat Iron Steak and Frites. The special seafood ravioli hit it out of the park! We highly recommend the Sandpiper Wood Fire Grill!!

We had a fabulous meal at Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill! We came here off a recommendation from my best friend who is a local to San Diego so you know it's going to be good. The food was marvelous, the service was friendly, and atmosphere was relaxed and chill. It was a comfortable meal with wonderful flavors. Some highlights and high recommendations: brussel sprouts were amazing! Oysters were fresh and juicy, crispy shrimp was excellent, the linguini was great. Everything we ordered was fantastic actually (take a look at the pics to see what we ordered.). The Hawaiian cheesecake was a perfect ending to an otherwise fantastic meal and experience. 5 stars and two thumbs up for Sandpiper! Thank you to the chef and staff for a truly memorable meal.
