Friendly service and great quality Chinese classics

By carlosdieppa |

A great variety of high quality Chinese food, with noodles, rice dishes good pork and roast duck. I will have to come again in the weekend for the Dim Sum. Friendly service in this local gem.

Surprisingly Delicious food

This restaurant should be an historical place in North Miami Beach. It is truly been in business a long time. I’d never had an urge to patronize it due to its unattractive setting and decore. The location as well leaves little to Bragg about however a friend insisted that I join her there for lunch. Hesitantly I obliged. The food was surprisingly delicious! Authentic, freshly cooked, great presentation, and wonderful service. I regret not trying them before. I would definitely visit their establishment more often.

Fantastic Authentic Chinese Food

By ClassicaBlue |

The Dim Sum, fresh seafood and side dishes are all excellent at this restaurant and the prices are very reasonable. The service is acceptable but not particularly great. The waitstaff all looked tired and not too cheerful. Best option is to call Teresa and order take out.

Food is good, but the servers are very typical of south florida chinese places - rude doesn't even begin to describe it.

Best Dim Sum outside of NYC China Town

By Smidgie01 |

Authentic and delicious, freshly made dim sum and chinese foods - cooked to order entrees, seafood, and all other dishes are excellent. The dim sum brunch on Sunday is fantastic from 11AM to 2PM. A really terrific variety of fresh buns, dumplings, rice wraps, seafood, pork, shrimp, duck, steamed, fried, and baked buns of all types. Fantastic flavors and fast service. Serve beer adn soft drinks as well as chinese teas. A real treasure and very, very affordable. Take some friends and share everything. They make chinese broccoli, and snow pea greens sauteed with garlic - unbelievably delicious. These are not shown on the dim sum menu, but ask for them and the waitress will write it on your order form. A plate of these greens will serve 2-4 depending on how much you are eating of all the other fantastic items. Don't miss an opportunity to try this place. Atmosphere is a typical Chinatown cafe - where mainly chinese people eat. Really authentic!

Finally, Chinese food we loved

I am amazed to say that we have finally found wonderful Chinese food in the Miami area! Sang's is it. After a fun but hot tromp through the Yellow and Green Farmers Market in Hollywood, four of us decided to try Sang's for a late Saturday lunch. We all live in Miami Beach but had heard about the 163rd St. area being a reliable spot for a variety of authentic ethnic eateries. Inside, Sang's was light and bright and cheerful, a good start. Our server, Ming, was delightful. He explained that the restaurant had dim sum available but we could also order off the regular menu. He knew the menu well -- it is Hong Kong style -- and gave us good guidance on the definitely large menu. We also appreciated that once three of us had ordered main courses, he said that we would have plenty of food and didn't need to order more. We opted to have a fourth, a vegetable, and assured him we'd be fine with taking leftovers home. We were so happy with our dishes, which were all frankly beautiful on the plate.. When Ming had mentioned chicken with crunchy vegetables, he was right: the little chunks of corn, carrots and other veggies had just the perfect amount of crunch. Our seafood with vermicelli noodles was giant and so flavorful. And the Beef Chow Fun, which included rice noodles made at the restaurant, was just a dream, with such tender beef. An unusual dish was pea pod shoots, which were a bit like cooked spinach, but they don't melt down like spinach. They were a beautiful bright green and deliciously garlicky. Prices are reasonable, and the portions were so large we took some of each one of them home. We cannot wait to go back and are so pleased to have found Sang's.

Good food — great value

By George S |

A nice Chinese restaurant in a small strip mall near Biscayne Blvd which serves inexpensive authentic Chinese food. The dining room is attractive and the service is friendly. There is a Dim Sum menu but we opted for the regular one. My wife had a large vegetable soup and I had the chicken with fried noodles — both were very good. The portions were very large and inexpensive — we could only eat less than half. Great value!

Once was great, not any more

By Judge Marc M |

Was once a good dim sum and Cantonese spot. Now, it is faded, terrible decor, unprofessional servers. Food can be good with nice portions, but they have not put a dime into the place since 1970. Very depressing.

20 years of consistency.

By BobbyMiamiBeach |

For the past 20 years I have been a fan of this establishment. I am here now and was on my phone device wondering why they had bad reviews? It is not a place to impress your friends and the atmosphere in dreary and a little corny with the Chinese regalia strewn about. My Chinese friends introduced me to this place many years ago and many Chinese people frequent this place. That is a good sign. It is authentic and has reas, tonable prices. I find the food excellent. Service is ok but they treat me quite well as a loyal customer. Tropical Chinese is fancier and great as well, but more expensive. So, if u want inexpensive, but very good food try this place. I do not think staff are rude but merely do not have the language skills yet.

Dim Sum Sunday

By Anna & Alex |

Do not judge the plates by the half eaten photos of food. We were so excited to dig in, I forgot to take them when the food first came out. We have been out of town for months and had missed Sang's food. It was as tasty as we had remembered. Highly recommend their dim sum🤩

Went There ALL the Time

By Nathaniel M |

So I was a regular customer here because they cooked pretty damn good. Unfortunately, last time I went, in broad daylight, there was a roach crawling in the table next to me. That was that. Havent been back. If you're willing to overlook that, the food is good!

This place u cant go wrong on dim sum.

By Johnson Wai |

I am writing this piece again, coz once we come back to Miami, we gotta stop by this place to have local dim sum, everytime .......lost count already, the place looks like really a dumb from outside, dont think they really care of the interior decor, coz there is absolutely nothin in there, just those old looking aquariums, flat screen tv, some Chinese decor.......tables almost falling apart, i mean it really cld use a facelift, however when that is said, the dim sum is really a must served on week days between 11.30am till 4pm......dumplings, ha kau ( shrimps ) char siu bao ( steemed pork buns )Chinese broccoli, chicken feet, spareribs in black bean sauce, stuffed egg plant, siu mai ( pork ) I cld go on, the list is long.....service is like what to expect, just like an fast joint in Asia :-) but go for the food, not the service here :-) I'll come back for sure as always this local place, thx for making this place such a great pleasure to eat dim sum, but not a place u sit very long .......a facelift for this joint is suddenly needed.

Thumbs down!

By fmosquito |

Dim sum was sub par, not even close to Tropical or Mr. Chu's. Siu mai was like a hard ball and the shrimp didn't taste fresh. I can't imagine what people like about this place. Skip it and save the trouble!

very good dim sum. no fancy carts, but tasty nonetheless.

A popular expensive place for home style Cantonese dishes.

By Beemish Boy |

The ambience of this small restaurant is that of a family run place - competent Cantonese standards, prompt efficient table service and everyone pitching in. Dont expect any whiz bang highlights but you can expect well prepared dishes, they tend to be on the bland side as the place is popular with locals, many seem to be regular patrons. If you want inexpensive dim sum on a sunday, this place will do.

Excellent Dim Sum Lunch

By 3902244 |

To be clear Sang's is not an impressive looking restaurant. If that's important to you go to Hakkasan, where you'll pay 4/5 times the price of Sang's. They offer a great variety of various Dim Sum. Steamed Shrimp and Pork Sui Mai, Fried Shrimp Balls (delicious and very crispy, spinach stuffed steamed dumplings, traditional fried pork dumplings, Stuffed tofu skins (a personal favorite). Everything is delicious, and again I want to stress all served in a non-pretentious setting. You're paying for the food, not the chairs! And that brings me to the pricing. NOWHERE have I seen better. It is beyond fair. You'll leave thinking they must have forgotten some items on the bill. They haven't; it's just priced exceptionally well. If you love Dim Sum, Sang's is your spot. Give it a try!

The BEST!

By Jentue C |

Everybody who lives in Florida knows there is no good authentic Chinese food. Compared to New York or San Francisco, we honestly have tried every new restaurant over the last 8 years. Once we tried Sang’s we finally found our SPOT! We were very impressed with the dim sum. Shrimp dumplings, homemade noodles, pork buns, sticky rice and all our favourites. Staff is friendly and we go every year to celebrate Chinese New Year with a big group of friends and family. It’s not perfect but it the best we have found yet! Price is reasonable and it’s not a Japanese fusion like most others.

Great Dim Sum

By 3902244 |

We haven't much luck finding Dim Sum in Miami, until now. Sang's has the best Dim Sum menu we've seen since we left San Francisco over 14 years ago (we moved around before coming to live here in 2014). Sang's is a no-frills local restaurant with 60+ dim sum offerings. I swear one time or another we've tried most of them. Our favorites - egg rolls, shrimp dumplings, shrimp and pork sui mai, fried shrimp balls, the crispy bacon roll, various dumplings stuffed with spinach. Everything steamed or pan fried was authentic and delicious. Friendly service with very reasonable price points. A must-go restaurant.

Good food and fast friendly service

Warm greeting upon entering. The server was very prompt and helpful with the menu. The food came to the table very quickly. We were very pleased with the quality and the quantity. We will be returning soon.

Can't go wrong

Dim sum was yummy. The egg tarts were especially worth it. The shrimp was plentiful. Helpful staff. Quick service. We saw others who ordered cooked dishes and everything looked glorious

Chinese in North Miami Beach, Florida

By john o |

Chinese in North Miami Beach, Florida Sang's Chinese Restaurant 1925 NE 163rd St. North Miami Beach, FL 33162 (305) 947-7076 and (305) 945-7962 For years there weren't many Chinese restaurants in North Miami Beach, but they are slowly sprouting up in this area of Miami-Dade County. Four or five years ago I dined at this location and was not impressed. I am not sure if it was run by the same management as today; however, things have changed significantly. I recently feasted (12/26/2014) with a group of four family members at Pang's. We found the menu varied the portions abundant and the food was freshly prepared, tasty and delectable. We ordered several menu items that reflected our individual preferences, including an order of vegetable egg rolls which were a bit salty, a family-sized assorted sea food soup, with more tofu than seafood, a scrumptiously prepared whole steamed flounder, smothered with delicate herbs in a bed of a suitable amount of soy sauce. We next ordered Peking pork chops whose meat was less than fresh and masked by a thick pungent sauce, followed an order of boiled salted chicken which was great, and an excellent BBQ pork chow fun along with a large bowl of steamed rice. All items were excellent except for the two exceptions noted. Also, my heart was set on sweet-and-sour pork but they were fresh out. This is a popular item ordered by non-Asians so that this was surprising. Noteworthy, is the fact that the only chow fun on the menu is of the beef variety but they accommodated me with the BBQ pork version. The restaurant rapidly filled up with customers about 6:30 PM on a Thursday evening. Several large tables are available in the restaurant to seat large groups of ten to twelve customers. One such table accommodated a large Asian family when I dined there. It is always a good sign to see groups of Asians in a Chinese restaurant because it shows a high level of fidelity to ethnic menus and provides further evidence that meals in this restaurant are genuinely authentic. Our meals were served by attentive waitresses, which were delicious and inexpensive. Some flavors, such as the seasoning in the Peking chops, were more pungent than one usually finds in ordinary Chinese restaurants. In sum, this is a well-rounded basic Chinese restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere, serving excellent food, with a varied menu, good service, at reasonable prices that is likely to please the palate of those seeking authentic Chinese food in North Miami Beach, just a bridge acxross the Sunny Isles Beach area. jorta@pacbell.net La Crescenta, California, USA (12/26/2014)

Once again here in Sang`s in Miami.

Roaches

By sandy g |

DISGUSTING!!!! We ordered take out last and found 3 roaches in the bag of wings. We called to complain and they offered to give us more wings. They don't seem to think it's any big deal to find roaches in your food.

Dinner is just as good as the dim sum.

By Johnson Wai |

I cant imagine how many times we've been here everytime we are in Miami, if you do enjoy aunthentic chinese either dim sum, or dinner service, it really cant go wrong. Wheather your party of 2 or 20 ppl, they got menus that has a wide seletion of good solid traditionally cuisine price range is also pretty good totally inexpensive. We ordered the fresh fish that was taken out of the tank along with 2 pcs lobster. What i can say ? Just savory at its best and i only recommend this place if your a epic Chinese cuisine diner, and nothin else.

Takeout dinner was just fair/Billing Problems

By joelk128 |

Based on the reviews, I ordered 2 takeout dinners on Christmas. I tried to call but, as expected, they were so busy they did not answer. Chinese restaurants are about the only ones open on Christmas day so I expected it to be busy. That's why we placed an order online at 4:45 pm. The menu said that the dinner combination specials were available all day Sundays so we ordered 2 combos and a quart of soup. I got a confirmation that said it would be ready in 1 hour. When I went there, it was a zoo... crowded and customers arguing about their orders not being ready or not being right. I waited a half hour to show the woman my confirmation, whereupon she told me they do not do the combination dinners on Christmas! So my order was not even started. There is nothing on their website nor paper menu that says that and they should have honored it. So, I ordered 2 a la carte entrees, 2 egg rolls and a pint of soup. I waited another half hour and got my order, paid and went home... and there was no soup! I also checked the menu price against what they charged me and they overcharged me too. I went back today and spoke to the manager and she apologized. In addition, the menu I took from the restaurant that night did not have the new prices written in... $2 more for the chicken dish. She gave me a refund for the difference of what I got vs what they charged. That said, the shrimp with lobster sauce and sweet and sour chicken were just average. I would have given them only 1 or 2 stars but took into account that it was Christmas and they were overwhelmed... and they took care of the problem today. I will try them again on another night.

Good but not great

By Rick S |

I work down the street so I decided to get take out for lunch. Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t find it to be anything more than average. General Tso’s chicken and hot and sour soup. Both were okay but that’s it.

Birthday treat

By Cmak49 |

My friend recommended Sangs Chinese restaurant for his birthday celebration. The place is run by a Chinese speaking family. The decor was like being in China. They had live fish and lobster tanks for which you could pick what fish or lobster you wanted. It appears to be Szechwan style food that is prepared fresh after you make your menu choices. I had Prawns with lobster sauce and my friend had clams in bean sauce. We also had appetizers and friend rice prepared fresh while we waited. The dishes were delicious and slightly different than regular Chinese take out style restaurants. The service was good and the bill was reasonable. Try Sang's on 163nd street near Nova University in N Miami Beach. Enjoy the experience.Tour buses with Chinese vacationers sometimes come there for authentic Chinese dishes.

Phenomenal & Legit Chinese Food!

By Louis R |

I've been eating here for years. Every Sunday, my brother drives 20 miles just to enjoy Sang's dim sum. Every time I have been there, I am one of the few non-Asians in the room, and that should tell you everything you need to know. The food is phenomenal, and the staff is accommodating, though they have no idea what to make of me and my loud family. Try the shrimp in mayonnaise sauce! I know it sounds gross, but it is unbelievably good.

A delight!

I really liked the food - there is a lot of Brazilian spice. The service was excellent and the food arrived super fast with everything very well done and careful.
