Great place!

By jonnyliddle |

We got to our hotel after a long flight from BCN and saw this place across the road. It looks small from the outside but was much larger once inside. Stylish meets traditional inside with cool decor, just what we like. Staff very friendly and informative, pizzas fresh, tasty and inventive and the chocolate salami dessert was something else. House red was surprisingly excellent and loved the wine bottle filled with water put on the table as we sat down. A lovely touch. Thanks very much guys, it was a great welcome to NYC for myself and my fiancé. We wish the continued success you deserve.

Good pizza

By Meliejod |

Really good pizza, friendly staff, good vibe. If you are staying at hotel RL Brooklyn (right in front), I strongly suggest this restaurant. Would go again!

Amazing place!

The staff was terrific and the food was absolutely delicious! Based on other reviews we ordered the porchetta. Just melts in your mouth! Chocolate salami for dessert... perfect ending! Located just across the street from Red Lion Hotel RL. Location couldn't be beat. If you're visiting or are local this place deserves a try. You will be so glad you did!

Santa panza

. Picked it out of the blue and wow it was good! The ricotta and buratta appetizers were crazy delicious. Mushroom risotto also a winner. Want to go back soon and try pizza and pasta. Great music, service and atmosphere..

Don't be Fooled!

By almartino318 |

Excellent Food and service. No rush but an attentive waiter. We try pizza everywhere so we had the margherita for an app. We've traveled from Northern to Southern Italy, this is an authentic pizza. From the gnocchi to the Ragu pappardelle to the carbonara, spot on delicious. Portions are not overwhelming but adequate. Great place, you won't be disappointed.

One of the best pizzas in NYC

By MattModine |

Hidden in still gritty but quickly gentrifying part of Brooklyn this place serves great pizza in a super cool space with a lovely small garden. We had salame picante and speck zola pizzas which were to die for. Highly recommended. Cash only.

Hidden jewel

Amazing place, food was outstanding. We ordered two pizzas to go, the margherita and the special one.

Tasty pizza with good service

By amaiaisuru |

I really like this Neapolitan pizza place. The style off pizza is from Italy, meaning it's small pies that may or may not come with cheese or tomato sauce. But they will make your pizza to order. There is a nice dining room and backyard seating during the nice weather.

Neighborhood spot

I live around the corner from here. Decided to walk in one day and have a glass of wine with my dinner. Everything was super delicious and the prices were decent. I love the atmosphere.

Great Restaurant!

great Italian food, wonderful service and a quaint beautiful restaurant! Being right across from our hotel was even better. Cash only but prices were right! Will be back!

Great Italian food, great service!

By LuizPiazza |

I've been there 2 times during my 3-day trip to NY. Had a margherita pizza on my first night, along with a beer. I was welcomed with a smile by the staff. My orders came quickly and the pizza was delicious, Italian-style. On.my second day I was there for brunch. Eggs Benedict spot on, very tasty with delicious crust bread. Coffee is also great and I even got a free Bloody Mary from the bartender, as he had just finished a batch and it didn't fit the vessel. Prices are ok for NY. Not actually cheap but it's worth it! I would definitely get back as soon as I'd land back in NY.

Really good pizza

By 311ruth58 |

The food was very good. The pizza was good value. I had the pasta which was too small but very tasty.

Not bad

By Justmemat |

Stopped in here with a friend who is staying in a hotel across the street. Ordered the pizza with spicy sopressata seems like it might have been pepperoni instead. They serve what seems like tap water in a wine bottle and no ice in the glasses. Tap water is fine but would liked to have some ice with it. Pizza was decent service was very friendly. Asked for a Guinness which they did not have instead suggested a milk stout which was not very good but they didn't make the beer so not their fault. Nice atmosphere wish they had a little bit more of a menu might go back if in the neighborhood again

Dinner with friends!

2nd time was the charm

By beautifulzion |

We were in Brooklyn, visiting from Canada for a family funeral for 3 days, staying across the street at the RL Hotel. We went to Santa Panza twice for dinner. Though I gave this a 5 star review, if it was based on the first visit alone, it would have been around a 3 for the service. The waitress we had was rude and distant. I asked her what would be the quickest thing we could get for my diabetic father to snack on as his sugar was low. She wasn't so helpful, but then brought out bread while we were ordering - she could have just said right from the beginning that she could bring us some bread! That would have been cool. I have to say, we were all pleasantly surprised by the food. It was quite tasty. we were very happy with the food. Anyways, the 2nd visit almost didn't happen because of the attitude from the first, but thank goodness we went back. It was spectacular! The service, right from the host at the door, the waiter, the kitchen staff - phenomenal. People were kind, friendly, it was on point. The food was delicious - we had margherita pizza, pasta, salads, the cheese plate, wine....everything was delicious. We would highly recommend and return here.

Post run pizza

By KANewYork |

Nice place in Bushwick. It didn’t have a lot of customers. Pretty good space inside and a small patio outside. It was a bit chilly so the patio was empty and we had it all to ourselves. Some craft beers which are good. Pizzas are thin crust and delicious. They come in two sizes 6” and 12”. One person can easily finish up the 12”. Friendly and efficient staff. Attentive without being intrusive. They are cash only. They also have an ATM in case..

Great service, great pizza

By Tania1151 |

Had a great dinner here on a recent trip to Bushwick. When I couldn't decide on a wine, the lovely waitress gave me a taste of the house wine (which wasn't what I was looking for) and then offered to give me a taste of a wine they only sell by the bottle, and there was no pressure to commit to it. Luckily, the bottle of 2012 Ramitello was delicious (and well priced). We enjoyed a great meal of bresaola, pizza, salad and panna cotta for dessert, all the while the service was very attentive and friendly. I would recommend this place for a great meal and a romantic but casual environment.

Really nice meal

We stayed across the street at the RL Brooklyn, and the staff there recommended this gem of a restaurant. Food is simple but authentic--both the risotto alla gorgonzola and the wood-fired porchetta were delicious. Negronis were pretty darned good too! We had an entree each, a cocktail each and shared a glass of wine--all for $65. Remarkable! We were very impressed and will go back!

My lucky night

By miamimikeLondon |

After a full day of travelling I ended up in this non descript area of Brooklyn expecting nothing more than a cold beer and some wings. Then I spotted the warm glow of Santa Panza. An honest warm welcoming and authentic Italian bistro with exceptional food (that would be a big draw in Rome). Service is friendly and efficient and the soundtrack funky. I left a very happy man! Don't waiver. Try this place.

Good Italian food

By Karl B |

This is a great little restaurant, the food was exceptional! My only couple of gripes were...... America is known for big portions, these were a little on the small side. Also our waitress was a little on the cold side, she could of done with a course in customer service! As a whole though, I can’t fault the superb flavours the food gave and the selection of beers that were on the menu. When I’m next in town I’ll definitely being returning.

So worth the trip!

By limase63 |

Delicious! Tried Prosciutto e funghi pizza and Ortolan Pizza. Fantastic - fresh ingredients and crispy crust. The desserts were fabulous. Crema al mascarpone alla violetta and Panna cotta al limone so so so good! Worth the trip down from northern NY!

What a perfect place!

The NYC Gem you’re looking for

By Krista |

This was exactly what my friend and I were looking for after a long day of seeing the sights. The upscale feel of gourmet pizza and a cheese plate with a delicious house red at reasonable prices. It is cash only but there is an atm on site.

Interesting little place in Brooklyn

By ETMKleine |

Enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the service. The portions were just the right amount and the taste great: nothing too sweet or too salty. Take a seat in the garden, if the weather permits of course.

Santa Panza pizza

By Vidhi |

The pizza here is nice. The personal pies are pretty small. But they have a few different options of toppings.

A little gem of a pizza place on the Bushwick and Bed-Stuy border

By Cara W |

We visited Santa Panza twice in one week while staying at the Hotel RL Brooklyn across the road. The ambience is cosy and relaxed, the staff are lovely and the pizzas are fantastic - as authentic and delicious as pizzas I’ve eaten in Italy. Will definitely return when we’re next in NYC!

Fantastic dinner for large party

By Kathryn S |

Absolutely out of this world dinner. The chickens dish, meatballs, salads, pizzas and desserts our large party ate - all magical. Best NY dinner ever. Can’t wait to go back and others in party already have and become “ regulars “. This place is 5 stars plus!

Authentic Italian pizza

By Riccardo M |

Excellent pizza. In my opinion, it is better than most pizzas in Italy. Keep up the good work. Bravi!

Excellent casual dining

By IvyNYC |

Cozy artisinal pizza place amidst a shabby retail district. The menu is contemporary with a variety of veggie and Italian meat choices. The pizza was fresh from the brick oven. Desserts were especially delicious, as was the house made limoncello.

Authentic place and good pizza

The place is very charming and the pizza are actually very good and authentic. Would go there again.

A Neighborhood Gem in Brooklyn

By David A |

A small, intimate restaurant in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. It offers a friendly, relaxed, welcoming vibe. The way to go here is to order several dishes to share and top off your meal with a wonderful pizza. Highly recommended: the luscious whipped ricotta cheese appetizer, the risotto with wood fired trumpet mushrooms, and the pizza with ricotta, mozzarella, charred spring onions, garlic, lemon, and calabrian hot honey. The other pizzas ordered by other dinners looked delicious, too. For a dolce to complete your dinner, the buttermilk panna cotta was yummy. (Full disclosure... would have given them five stars, but for the one disappointment: the cacio e pepe.)
