The best patisserie west of France...not kidding

By Kim P |

How amazing to find this hidden spot just blocks away from the touristic river walk. Authentic French patisserie (breakfast), bistro lunch menu and a wine list that required thought and knowledge to place great values that could be found on a bistro menu in France. The strength is for sure the pastry...the most sublime lemon merengue I have ever had...both filling and crust. And don't forget the baguette. Parfait. This restaurant is in evolution and will find it's place in the SA restaurant list. Keep up the strong work S and S (French couple who owns the place ).

Step through the door into an authentic French Cafe

By ec80021 |

I visited France for lunch today. Saveur 209 is a family owned restaurant using fresh ingredients to lovingly serve outstanding modern French cuisine. I stepped inside and was immediately reminded of lovely little cafés that I enjoyed on a trip to France a few years ago. The lunch menu changes weekly for the soup, quiche, fish and dessert. I peeped at the dinner menu and wished the conference that brought me to San Antonio lasted a few more days.

Wonderful Experience

By willia15 |

The restaurant is simply decorated and smart with a partially open kitchen to watch the preparation. We started with the Foie Gras and Mushroom soup - both were fantastic and well balanced. My wife had the monkfish (I barely got a bite!) and I had the chicken which I rarely order in a restaurant. I was rewarded - the chicken was a nice blend of hazelnuts, cream and herbs. We ended with the chocolate soufflé and homemade chocolate ice cream - what a perfect finish. Wine list was small but more than adequate for great pairings for each course. We even enjoyed the silverware and wine glasses themselves (nice weight and appearance) - small details were covered. This was our third visit and we will go back again and again.

One of the Best Restaurants in San Antonio

By Keith S |

This is a small, family run French restaurant about four blocks from the Alamo. It is away from the River Walk madness, but close to most of the downtown hotels. The French cuisine is exceptional and the wine pairings were excellent. Our favorite restaurant in San Antonio.

Welcome culinary addition

By 2francophile |

We've seen restaurants come and go, or start off French and then devolve into a mish-mash of dishes until al the French is gone. It's unimaginable that the owners of this new culinary addition to San Antonio's restaurants will become anything else than truly authentic and successful. The young chef manages traditional offerings with a deft contemporary twist. While she is visible, working in the open kitchen, her parents are in the front to greet the customers and make them feel welcome. All the dishes were delicious but the gazpacho was much, much more than an appetizer. All of us were tempted to lick our bowls clean.

Delicious Food and Friendly Owner

By Texanna3033 |

We were a party of 5 all of us ordered a different meal. Everyone of us were delighted with our dinners. I would call it fine dining, but it is not "break the bank" expensive. Had a fun conversation with the owner. A wonderful experience all around! Will definitely be going back!

Fantastic!

By Garyraba |

The. Chef and her family run a great place to dine with your loved one or w friends. Don't be in a rush! Enjoy all the courses. You must. I've had everything except the fish and was blown away by the lamb last night. My wife always has fish and she loves loves loves it. Get there. Remember, parking is right behind the Restuarant in the alley. They have some spots blocked. Move the cone and park and enjoy!!

Precision at a restaurant

By TRIBOB_7745 |

The wife and I finally made it to this warm and friendly restaurant last week. The word precision comes to mind as the Chef was very precise with every course and the blends of taste and texture were near-on perfect. The Amuse-bouche excellent and delicate. The Scallop Carpaccio with mushrooms, showed a deft touch with the knife, almost transparent. The Branzino (Sea Bass) was as good as it gets with a wonderful sauce with a flavor blended precisely. My wife's Lobster was placed on a bed of superb Risotto, another grand blend of flavor and texture. Service very attentive (not oppressive). The owners visited at our invitation for a moment or two. This is a wonderful restaurant that should have your attention.

Excellent breakfast

By scjjmm |

What a surprise finding an authentic French bakery and cozy French restaurant in downtown San Antonio. The dining room Oozes of French/ Euro design. Pleasant as we miss our times in Europe. Prices are higher than you find in France but what would you expect with imported products. Service reminds me of European service, just enough but not over the top when compared to American service. You have to find a server if you need something mid meal; It’s a cultural thing. My breakfast Food was very good. Really enjoyed the quiche Lorraine and my wife enjoyed her avocado toast. Our server forgot our drinks and then didn’t offer glasses for our bottled drinks. I would highly recommend if you miss French food from your European travels or want to explore French food in a cozy setting. If your not familiar with the French perspective on casual dining be flexible and focus on the food and less on the service. Enjoy

A French French restaurant

By Claude D |

The place is not very impressive but some of the meals are amazing. It is an authentic French place where the chef has his own twist. Do not expect big portions and the service is a little bit slow by US standard but it is really good. It is a work in progress and the menu needs some work as to add a few more options and also to remove or improve a few items. Do not miss the chocolate fondant if like me you are a chocoholic. I found it a little bit pricey as I think they have some things to improve and they will. I will not come here each time I go to San Anton but I will definitively come back as to check on the progress.

Ou la la....in downtown San Antonio

By Vosges |

I enjoyed a lovely champagne brunch @ Saveurs 209 last Sunday and can't recommend it highly enough. Wonderful egg (omelet or scrambled) dishes with yummy add ins like: sundried tomatoes, goat cheese, mushrooms, lobster, salmon....and served with perfect small square sauteed potatoes; really wonderful! Pain chocolat, waffles, fruit and other sides to accompany. Coffees, juices, champagne and the gorgeous chic decor are all icing on the cake. No problem finding a place to park on Broadway on Sunday:) I understand that soon a french patisserie is going in next door!! Make a point to go to Saveurs 209 soon!

Nice atmosphere and great food

By Dan D |

Everything we had was very good. Prices for appetizers $8-$12 and main dish $28-$39. We had bottle of white wine per waitres suggestion and it was really nice wine. I like sweat and she likes dry, but we both liked her suggestion. Wines $8 and up per glass.

Stay as long as you like, unlike many Americann restaurants.

Same Frenchmen own La Boulangerie next door. I wish they were closer to my house! Authentic French food. If you've been to France, and miss the cuisine, come here!

Classic and delicious

By Bren M |

I have yet to have dinner here (soon!) but recently had lunch on a weekday with work colleagues. Each item: the classic roasted chicken, salad, soup du jour (butternut squash that day), flourless chocolate cake -- and off the menu extra croissants from their boulangerie next door -- was delicious. The care and attention to creating classically simple yet delicious food was obvious. We are all delighted to have this authentic French gem available in San Antonio.

Fabulous meal, service, decor and atmosphere

By tle |

My husband and I visited this resturant primarily on the rating on TA. What a joy to have a well presented and delicious meal and wine in a beautiful and comfortable setting. We easily found free street parking less than a block north and felt very safe walking in the neighborhood. It is across the street from a sketchy apartment or hotel which is located in an old building and has about 5 floors. There were no signs of loiterers or others from that business. We entered a beautiful and uplifting small rectangular space and from the first smile of the woman who waited on us to the last goodbye it was a perfect experience. I believe our server is the mother of the chef. She said she lived in Paris but came to SA with her family to support her daughter in opening a business. The wine is all from France and our bottle was $50 and excellent. There were choices in the 40 dollars range and by the glass for about 11. Served in proper very clean glasses. I just ordered an appetizer and my husband had the tiger prawns and all was tasty and prepared with care. Bill was 98 including tax plus tip. I highly suggest you try this spot for an uplifting experience and great break from the Mexican food and or steak which seems to describe most of the more successful SA eating experience. Cannot wait to return on our next visit and might just drive over from Houston to have the opportunity to eat there again.

delicious food

with a truly french flair- family business. We enjoyed every single platter!!! Great service as well.

One of the very best restaurants in San Antonio, Texas

By Achivanh |

This restaurant is one of the best in town! It looks a bit uninviting from the outside, but the food is exceptional. We went for dinner twice to confirm our first impression: a must for all foodies who love fine dining.

Culinary Oasis in a Desert

By Michael C |

Imagine World Class French cuisine in a small, slightly off-river but walkable location (if you are staying on the Riverwalk). The menu is creative French...Monkfish, Duckbreasts, etc. The menu is revised regularly to feature fresh ingredients. If you are a fan of fine dining this restaurant is a must !!

Quite possibly THE best meal I have ever had!

By Anette G |

My husband made a reservation here for our anniversary. We are not culinary aficionados by any means but we certainly have watched our fair share of cooking shows and we know what we like. Both of us agreed that this was probably the best meal that either one of us has ever had. The cheese souffle was so light and airy! The filet mignon was absolutely "melt in your mouth" (no knife needed) and the shrimp and risotto - Just yummmm! Then to top it off with a nougat dessert and a "to die for" macaron! The decor was modern European and the owners were attentive but not overbearing which made it that much better. The owner told us that they would be opening a bakery next door soon...too bad we don't live in San Antonio or I would have been a regular. Thank you for an amazing anniversary dinner!

Wow! Great Bistro

By Mary C |

We went to the movies to see The 100 Foot Journey today while on vacation. Being a retired chef , I really had a taste for some French food. Looked up French places in the downtown area of San Antonio & chose Saveurs 209. Sooo glad we did - what a gem! Really great atmosphere - food changes weekly. Our meal was incredible- from the wine to the appetizer of Comte cheese soufflé to our great dinners! I had lamb shank & roasted onion "cannelloni"- wrapped in grilled eggplant (instead of pasta) with grilled apricots & lamb jus. My husband had Roasted Halibut with Tomato purée, white asparagus. & tomato oil! Make sure you check it out ! Fabulous

Don't Believe The Hype

By Sominer |

I took my wife here for her birthday after readying the glowing reviews. The place was excessively average and the food excessively expensive. Additionally, the portions are tiny so don't be surprised to put a heavy dent in your wallet and leave hungry. The service was so-so as this is a mom and pop shop and they help with the waiting.

A Spectacular Addition for San Antonio

By Keith S |

My wife and I joined two friends for a three plus hour dining experience at Saveurs 209. We ordered different appetizers and for the most part different entrees and then shared. Every selection was spectacular in its own right. Sylvie and Sylvan handled the front with a relaxed, friendly aire while Caitline and her sous chef handled all the kitchen duties. With such a small staff, the restaurant can only handle 25 to 30 patrons so reservations while not a must yet will be once more folks learn of it. The restaurant does not expect multiple table turns so this is a wonderful place to spend the evening. The decor is bright and modern. Our new favorite in San Antonio! Apparently they have a lunch menu, which I look forward to trying.

Best restaurant in San Antonio

By Judi F |

I love this place...and I live here and have dined at Saveurs 209 several times. Fresh ingredients, artfully prepared. Nice atmosphere and warm family from Paris who run it. Highly recommend!

Lovely find

By RPLLtravel |

I happened upon the restaurant walking from the convention center back to my hotel. A friend treated me to a nice dinner after a difficult week for both of us. Inventive (albeit expensive) cocktails and fresh, tasty, and SEEMINGLY simple preparations of the best ingredients. We shared the foie gras appetizer, the roasted monkfish for my friend (she used to bread the sop up every drop), the coquille St. Jacques for me (not like any version I've had, but I ate every scrap). Tarte tat in and the meringue with passion fruit sorbet for dessert although if I had known ahead of time that they had chocolate soufflé, I would ordered it with the 20 minute lag time. My friend had a couple of glasses of wine so I suspect the bill was around $100 apiece.

Saveurs209 Nice people but very amateurish

By GeoffreyR |

I don't know who said "this was the best restaurant in San Antonio" - but its not by a long way. Average at best. The owners are very nice people and I think they do their best and the food is OK, but certainly not the best in French Haute Cuisine by any stretch of the imagination. The service is painfully slow with offerings of more "home made bread" and apologies. Also its quite pricey for what is only OK French food and not particularly great ambience. I'm used to (and like) smaller portions for French food, but then you usually have a tasting menu with many more courses. It just didn't seem worth our while to persevere with the meal beyond the main course. To start I had the mushroom soup which was not bad and it had some really quite tasty croutons. My Wife had the Warm Fois Gras which she didn't enjoy much albeit it had a nice apple sauce with it. For my main I had the Veal which was cooked quite nicely and my wife had the Scallops. Both were OK but not anything really special. For San Antonio it was expensive. We didn't leave feeling we'd really enjoyed what was our final night in Texas.

Excellent New French Restaurant

By JJJRS5 |

Brand new French Restaurant in Downtown San Antonio. It's location is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the effort. The husband/wife team with their daughter the chef to produce excellent classic French food. The wine list is interesting and reasonably priced with several classic French wines. The Gazpacho was the best I've ever had--and it's my favorite soup that I've tasted all over the world. "Discover" this restaurant before the masses do--you'll be glad.

Will Return! A Hidden Gem

By CastrovilleTX |

First visit to Saveurs 209 but not the last! It's a little of the beaten path but should not be missed. Very intimate ambiance, spotless, great service and excellent food. My husband and I usually prefer dry, red wines but decided to try the suggested wine pairings with our meal. We are glad we decided to trust their recommendations. We had the foie gras and soufflé to start which were both excellent. We also each had the prawns in risotto which was outstanding. Last we finished the meal with the espresso soufflé which was also excellent - light and airy!

Too Expensive for Average Food

By Devotex |

We live in San Antonio, but we found some amazing restaurants while on vacation, based on TA reviews, so we decided to trust TA for local restaurants too. What a costly mistake.... Saveurs has potential IF they update their food, their prices, and their service. Unfortunately, the food is very bland to say the least, excessively overpriced, and the service is mediocre at best. The portions are ridiculously small, especially considering the hefty price tag. We'll still trust TA to lead us to great restaurants, however this one was a MAJOR FLOP...

Beautiful French Restaurant

By mdmcmanus1 |

Brand new beautiful French restaurant. Lunch was simple and classic. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Saveurs 209 has a bright future.

Great French restaurant!

By Yuka S |

Very friendly staff, terrific food, beautiful new restaurant. Definitely worth finding this place, which is not in a very high foot-traffic area. If you're going to a show at the Majestic Theater, stop here beforehand...just a short walk!

Great bistro

By Shelly A |

This was a very nice experience overall. My husband had the mushroom soup, which was incredible. I had the escargot and it was great as well. The filet of beef was amazing and perfectly cooked. We had the apple tarting which was very flavorful. This is a small, intimate bistro setting which is nice and relaxed. We will be back!

Very Surprised

By Joseph S |

Happened to be in San Antonio for Thanksgiving. A resident told us to try this restaurant. One of the best meals I can remember. Escargot, breast of chicken, scallops, roasted fish, made-in-house ice cream were all excellent. Short, well chosen wine list. Store front restaurant you will enjoy.

Se Magnifique!

By TravelSavvy2020 |

I discovered Saveurs 209 on my third trip to San Antonio, TX. I confess to being a bit of a food snob and have had some very disappointing dining experiences in San Antonio on previous trips. Saveurs 209 resurrected my faith in this city's ability to compete on the culinary scene in any city. There was nothing about our meal that was less than exceptional - from the fresh, high quality ingredients, the creative/artistic presentation, the superb wine pairings, to the gracious and very personal service. Pricing was more than fair. To visit San Antonio (or to live there!) without paying one or more visits to Saveurs 209 would be criminal.

More than a Franch Bistro

By J Burian |

My husband and I recently visited San Antonio to attend the American Dental Association Conference.By chance, we looked on the internet for French restaurants in the San Antonio area and found this wonderful restaurant. The reviews stated it was a "bistro style" restaurant but we found this only applies to the décor, not the incredible meal and amazing service! The chef is Paris trained in this family - run restaurant. The food rivals some of the more memorable ones we have had in our travels to France. A modern twist to one favorites, the food is lighter and better suited to modern health conscious patrons. For example, the Coquilles St. Jacque is served with fresh beets and scallops and without being encased in the traditional buttery crust. However, we couldn't resist the delicious decadent desserts of apple tartin and fig with caramel and walnut biscuit! If you want to experience authentic French food next time you are in San Antonio, visit this warm and friendly French Restaurant and you won't be disappointed.

Creative French food, it was the best meal we've had in SA since living in Europe!

By SpotTVMom |

My husband and I shared a meal here before his deployment. We wanted a nice place but not too stuffy with excellent food. Saveurs fit the bill perfectly. It was upscale, classy and not overly stuffy. I strongly disagree with a post that said the food was bland and average tasting...so NOT true! For a starter we tried the cheese soufflé with a salad. It was excellent perfectly light and fluffy rich soufflé, I only wish there had been a bit more of the salad greens because they were so good. The server was very friendly and attentive. We had asked for some types of wine not on the menu and they had a very nice Riesling for us to try. The server was very happy to give us tastes of a few different wine so we were very happy with our choice. I think the pairing suggestions were also spot on. My husband had the lamb and it was beautifully presented shredded lamb with a sauce and dried fruits and roasted peppers.. It tasted even better than it looked, it was full of rich and complex tastes. I had then Gambus Black Tiger Shrimp which was cardamom risotto with golden apple and shrimp au jus with coconut. It was really fantastic! The shrimp were firm, fresh and great tasting. The risotto was also excellent and I'm very picky about my risotto. It was not a formal french dish but more of a fusion that was great. The entree prices were from about $14-$40 per dish. They do not serve huge portions. If you are wanting to leave stuffed to the gills this is not a place for you. We were very much satisfied with the quantity of our meal. They feature high quality meals and excellent service. They offered a free small appetizer was great along with French bread that was never empty. The bread was pretty good for US french bread, of course it's not as good as the real stuff in France but we were happy. I can't wait to go back in a year for a welcome home from deployment meal! The suggestion to park behind the restaurant was also good. We were there around 6:30 so there were still a few spots. If you arrived later the ally might be full.

Tres Bien!

By linda jr |

What a lovely spot off the Riverwalk. We were two couples who are into food who had a wonderful meal. The pate and asparagus salad were wonderful. The beef tenderloin was served with oyster mushrooms and a very creamy polenta; my husband's salmon was perfectly prepared. Our friends enjoyed the lamb shank special and the halibut. My favorite was the cheese course served with a hint of a French preserve. Wines were well chosen and service crisp and attentive.

The Very Best in San Antonio

By Berti H |

What an unexpected treasure to find a French restaurant that rivals those experienced in Paris just months before this visit. With a modern setting and a welcoming staff, Saveurs is a retreat from the beans and rice/margarita atmosphere of the stereotypical river walk tourist trap. The place is bright and elegant without being stuffy. The food is brilliant. Juxtaposed and unexpected flavors thrill the palate. Foie gras with gingerbread and figs was just the beginning. Do not miss this incredible restaurant that brings imagination and creativity to every dish. Perfectly prepared. Servings are small but rich and extremely satisfying. A place that serious foodies should not miss. I would consider Saveurs its own destination.

a hidden gem

By TexasTraveler360 |

Three of us met for dinner at Saveurs last night. We were surprised that we were the only ones dining given the quality of the cuisine and service. Two of us have lived in San Antonio for many years... the other member of our group is French and has lived in Lyon -- undoubtedly one of the best cities in France in terms of cuisine. I had recommended the restaurant having eaten there several times and thought it would meet criterion for my French friend. She loved it. The chef's specialty is fish and seafood and we all had wonderful items from the offerings. The mushroom soup was to die for. We also indulged in the chocolate souffle and a wonderful apple tarte. The flavors are exquisite. The wine pairings are wonderful. It's was a delightful experience. I'm worried, however, that the place will close if it doesn't attract more clientele.

Unbelievable flavors!

By Herbert C |

This is the best dining experience I have had all year. Our tour guide from the cottonwood wine tour actually recommended this place to us, and I'm very glad he did. It is just north of Alamo plaza on Broadway and it's a very welcomed addition to that area. My wife ordered the duck and it was extremely succulent and flavorful I had Mahi Mahi and was blown away by the texture and flavor combination of this dish. The duck just melted in my mouth as I stole a bight off of my wife's plate. The white wine that our server recommended fit the dish perfectly. The modern decor and vibe makes you feel at ease and relaxed while the urban setting outside the window just roll by. I do recommend bringing a little extra money because you will want to go all out. But trust me every dime you spend here will definitely be worth it.

Fantastic delight

By LOUISE B |

My husband and I just went to Saveurs 209 for the second time in a week. The food is fabulous and we can actually have dinner and carry on a conversation. We highly recommend this new addition to San Antonio and we will return!

Beyond Excellent!

By Grey_Goose_Up |

I was in town for a convention and asked two friends who live in San Antonio to join me for Sunday brunch. We were running late and we actually did not arrive until 2:10pm, 10 minutes after the brunch ended. Sylvie, one of the owners assured us that we were welcome to enjoy our brunch. It was absolutely fabulous! We were the only ones in the restaurant and we felt as if the staff was hosting a private party for us! We were never rushed--we started with mimosas and cheese assortment. Two of us had omelets and one friend had the salmon tartare. Every dish was prepared beautifully. The restaurant is super clean with very chic, contemporary furnishings. My friends who were local loved it and cannot wait to return for dinner. For dessert? We shared the french toast with salted caramel. We finished a bottle of champagne and left so impressed with the quality of the food and the outstanding customer service. We were not overstuffed but completely satiated and it was so, so fresh! Do not miss this superb dining experience. PS. It is not on the Riverwalk and there was plenty of onstreet parking on a Sunday.

Very high standards- achieved!

By texantacitus |

This pace is a couple of paces off the beaten track but is worth the extra steps. Imaginative and thoughtfully chosen menu. Fresh ingredients prepared with obvious skill, care and attention. Service attentative and informative without going over the top. Try it out!!!

Nice place, poor value

By Michael M |

I place this review in the context of the cost for food and the high ranking on Trip Advisor. While the options are unique, display of food is beautiful, and atmosphere is great, the taste of the food was average. I can't say enough good things about the place itself, but I was unfortunately disappointed by the quality/taste of the food and the money that I paid for it. I was expecting the #1 restaurant in SA to blow me away, and perhaps it is that expectation that led me to feel let down. If you are looking for something unique, in particular a French restaurant in SA, this place is probably for you... but in my opinion it is slightly over-priced, food is under-seasoned, and they are below the mark for what I would consider #1.

A French Scape

By Monica R |

We checked Trip Advisor to select a restaurant for dinner. I love french cuisine and Saveurs was highly recommended. We found this eclectic place, not quaint as I like it, but charming. First item to order of course... Kir Royal... perfect..divine. The appetizers - Terrinede foie au Porto and Plateau de fromages were extraordinarily delicious, especially de foie. The Gaspacho de piquillos was a great surprise too. Everything was delightful including the service. If you are looking for really exquisite and authentic french cuisine, this is your place.

Paris comes to San Antonio

By carolshodge |

With its hip modern decor referencing classic French bistro styling this place feels good from the moment you enter. And the food & service live up to the ambience. The menu is small but covers the bases - seafood, chicken, pork, beef, vegetarian. The French-trained chef & her parents who run the front of the house are eager to please & they will answer any questions. The wine list has interesting choices. The dining room is small so reservations are recommended

A restaurant to treasure...

By TexasTraveler360 |

Everything about this restaurant is tops. The owners are a family who moved from Paris after a successful 30 years in business. The daughter is the chef who is clearly passionate about cooking. The mother was the gracious host. The restaurant is a converted storefront on Broadway a couple blocks north of Houston Street. The design is simple, colorful and consistent with the themes of the cuisine. Elegant but unpretentious. The flavors are outstanding and varied. There is an emphasis on fish and seafood -- the chef's choice, but there are alternatives for those who prefer beef or other meats. The wines are excellent. Parking on on street, but I understand the owners may have arrangements. Call for further information. Do go and support this wonderful unique addition to San Antonio.

Splendid evening

By drdave |

This restaurant has only been in business for 13 months, but it is a fantastic addition for San Antonio foodies. Our dining experience was outstanding. The food quality was high, the noise level was low, and the prices were moderate. Well, almost moderate. We loved the place.

It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This

By Palta |

What a wonder! Other reviewers are on the money saying that this is a little bit of Paris in downtown San Antonio. The couple who run this restaurant really care, really know what they are doing, and make it a truly memorable experience. The food is fabulous, the setting is simple chic, and you wander off afterward having had a truly excellent meal. If you think it's expensive, think again, because you are actually getting more than what you pay for here. Think of the airfare you saved by not having to fly to CDG then taking the RER into town.

Best in San Antonio

By Bruce D |

The "Yes" for best meal in a restaurant is a Yes for best ever in San Antonio. My mother has lived here for 40 years and every time we visit we try out one newer restaurant. This time is was Saveurs 209. My wife and I shared the duck livers which was wonderful with a quince foam - a wonderful flavor combination. My mother had the seared snails on slices of baby potatoes and and herb-butteer sauce which was to die for. We then decided on three different fish dishes so we could taste all. The scallops with baby beets, Monkfish with botchy and Grouper ON vichyssoise and leeks were all EXCELLENT and very generous portions -- just enough to please and not so much that any had to be left on the plate. Note: as with any top line restaurant they under-season, leaving the ingredients to do the talking and for those who wish there is salt and pepper on the table. (I would remove the salt & peppers before serving desert.) Deserts: Mom had the chocolate soufflé (order ahead!) which had no flour so my wife could taste it. Excellent! Not too sweet. I had the apple "tatin" with an apple pear sorbet that was better than any every tasted. My wife had a magical "Meringue caramelisée, salade de fruits exotiques et sorbet fruit de la passion" WHICH will be what I order next time. This is a mother and father with daughter in the kitchen. They have pride, class and are generous with there time and love for the challenge. They make and serve the best french bread in the city and will soon be opening a bakery next door at 207. We travel and have eaten countless meals in France, Italy, Spain and more. If any think this is expensive, just think of a comparable meal being paid in Euros and you will see it is not overpriced at all! I will give it a 4 for going to with children as this is more of an adult venue due to it's quality. Over 12 years old, it's a 4 and over 18 a 5. TRY IT! YOU'LL LOVE IT.
