Excellent food and even better service!!

By Michael Dale |

Had a great dining experience at this gem of a find! A really good atmosphere and menu to match. The international flavor is refreshing. I had one of the popular items on the menu (Seafood Paella) and it was amazing. With so many restaurant choices to choose from in San Antonio I highly recommend this one.

Fulfilling and satisfying meal

Eating at Savor Bistro was a satisfying experience to me. This place is a treat! Everything was unbelievably fresh and service was genuine and friendly. Such a fulfilling experience. We will be coming back.

Our mistake

By hungryranch |

We recently stopped in for lunch on a weekday. The bistro is attractive looking w nice art on the walls. Chairs and tables were comfortable. We looked through the menu of tapas, soups, salads, entrees and main courses. Prices for the a la carte lunch ranged from ~ $10 to $50+. We split a bruschetta appetizer, caprese salad, and tomato risotto. The caprese salad was nice. The other two dishes appeared to have been made in advance, perhaps yesterday. The bruschetta items were not thoroughly heated, the center of one being cool, as in “from the fridge”. The tomato risotto was cut up tomato, asparagus, squash in a tomato sauce over what looked( and tasted) like instant rice. We could not positively identify any risotto. This dish was also unevenly heated, apparently a microwave job not done well. I hope this nice looking place will get their act together. The Stoneoak area could use some good non chain restaurants. This place needs a chef, or at least a cook. I can warm leftovers in the microwave at home that are better than this $60.00 fiasco. Sorry.

Amazing Night

By Resort797344 |

I was visiting from NYC- A friend of mine from the area took me to Savor for a guys night out with a few buddies. I have been everywhere in Manhattan as far as trendy places but what they usually lack is customer service which is exactly what Savor had. The food was on point, the steak was perfectly cooked, the burger was huge and last but not least the chicken parm was legit, coming from an Italian household that is a lot for me to say. What was great was the owner Craig came out to say hi and bough me and my 4 friends a round of drinks and sat with us for a few minutes. Its little things like that where it makes you feel appreciated for spending your hard earned money on a meal. Im in texas every 3 months and this is my go to for now on.

Overpriced average food and disappointing atmosphere

By John P |

Has potential. Tried it out as a romantic birthday dinner. The blaring noise from the laptop at another table was offputting. May have been from one of the owner's kids being babysat. We tried the Galecian octopus as an appetizer which was overcooked and chewy. We also ordered the fielt migon and fettuccine pasta with seafood. The filet was supposed to come with a choice of two sauces (bearnaise or peppercorn) but peppercorn was only available and peppercorn was not well pronoucned. We asked the waiter if it was served with a side and he said it came with a vegetable. We ended up getting fries with onions on top. The filet however was well cooked and flavorful. The pasta wasn't very flavorful with several pieces of shell and grit. We have had much better dishes for the same price at other renowned San Antonio restaurants. Will likely not visit again.

So Good Service Was a Bit Slow

By Ray A. Calloway |

Came here for the new brunch, and tried the seared polenta cake with pork belly(yumm) and eggs benedict. So good. Service was a bit slow, but they are new, and is to be expected. Good housemade sangrias as well.

Our new favorite place

By Octavia G |

I would enthusiastically tell you that coming here is a treat worth treating yourself to. When we arrived, the vibes and ambiance were definitely there and the service was immaculate. It's beautiful and aesthetically pleasing restaurant, service remains solid and plating and food is just enjoyable! Order everything and anything on the menu, you won't be disappointed. Everything from the veggie appetizers to the main dishes to dessert had me licking my plate for more.

Great find!

By Joni G |

What a wonderful find off the beaten path, just a short drive from downtown San Antonio. We are two couples who are self-proclaimed foodie snobs. The Savor Bistro did not disappoint! The service and food were best in class. We started with the Ceviche and French Onion Soup and both were excellent. For entrees we had the Paella, Seafood Risotto, and Tomato Risotto. Everyone was pleasantly surprised! The only disappointment was that we were too full for dessert.

“Fine Dining Experience with Something Extra”

By mummblingme |

Dining at CIA offers fine dining at a more than reasonable price, and the opp to help culinary students gain experience. Book early in the evening for this, to savor what Savor provides in both the kitchen and students, fresh for their shift. Our 4 course Prix Fixe had lots of choices in each, were nicely timed, a well presented and excellent value at $46. Overly earnest student service was part of the experience, and we were more than satisfied.

Very disappointing

By tarlaa |

Drive 30 minutes to enjoy the food at savor bistro only to be very disappointed. It was 8:30 and I was the only guest. Arepas were okay except the cheese one where the cheese had not melted and the grilled octopus galicia was oily. The creme brûlée was inedible with its curdled cream. The restaurant is lovely inside but perhaps needs a new chef and a pastry chef if they plan to stay in business!

Delectable dishes indeed

By Wilma Montgomery |

Savor Bistro serves a wide variety of delectable dishes. I had a good time eating there. The staff is always pleasant, the rates are reasonable, and the location is always clean. This restaurant is one of my favorites because it consistently serves healthy food made with high-quality ingredients as well as drinks. They provide excellent customer service and are highly recommended.

A hidden gem that will surely please you

By Andrew Graham |

What a great day to find Savor Bistro. I had Ceviche for the first time, and it was delicious. From the food to the workers, Savor Bistro has earned my gratitude. Excellent service that is very convenient for all customers. I strongly advise my friends and family to visit this so that they are aware that there is a hidden gem that will please everyone.

Absolutely AMAZING BRUNCH

By kyle c |

I can NOT stop raving to all my friends and coworkers that I was the one to find this new bistro that just started serving brunch. It was seriously RIDICULOUSLY good. The duck confit hash, shrimp and grits and the waffle duo, which is just basically chicken AND fried quail made me wish there was more! The ambience, decor and owners were top notch too. Will be back already this weekend.

Very poor experience

By Lockard_10 |

My wife and I were excited to try a new restaurant with good reviews, noted as fine European dining. Our dinner, however, was subpar. Our server was inattentive and did not present the menu. My wife’s pasta with 6 oz steak was fine, however the steak was chopped. My medium rare ribeye was extra well done. No apologies or responsibility taken. 15% off the bill. The table next to us sent both meals back. The owner was rude. I was very disappointed.

Great spot

Great restaurant for dates

By Joyce Peters |

Despite the fact that there are numerous restaurants in the city, I always give Savor Bistro a try and I never regret giving them a shot. Their food, especially their drinks, was fantastic. Customer service is excellent, and the location is ideal for dates. I highly recommend Savor Bistro for excellent food and service.

New and great

By Alan G |

Our first visit to this neat place. Small, but very stylish and relaxed. We were very early diners on a Saturday, but everything was great. Service was friendly and knowledgeable and the food excellent. Caprese salad large enough for two and bruschetta to start and a halibut special and paella entrees. A great addition to an area with very few nice restaurants, notwithstanding the population and affluence.

Outstanding new restaurant in Stone Oak

By craig |

Amazing food service and atmosphere. This is a small hip place with very cool artwork. While they are waiting on their liquor license wine is on the house....a big plus. Arepa appetizer and ceviche were out of this world. Best French Onion Soup I have had, and I just got back from a trip throughout France. The Red Snapper and Filet Mignon were perfectly cooked and delicious, and the chocolate souffle for desert....WOW The owner was very attentive and service was outstanding. Will be back and bring clients for SURE

Upscale Dining With Traditional Family Recipes

By KoraSadler |

What a great place to visit. The host greeted me with a warm smile and I was seated promptly. The menu is mouthwatering and culturally mixed with something for everyone. I love that each item on the menu is a family traditional recipe. Some of the items were new to me and a little intimidating at first because there is so much to choose from. You can smell the mouthwatering herbs and spices in the air. Just make sure you have room for dessert, and try the bread pudding if you can't decide, it definitely says homemade from scratch. I look forward to visiting again on my next trip. Con: The parking area fills up fast so make sure you plan ahead.

Phenomenal meal at this new bistro

By craig |

Was excited to try SaVor Bistro, based on word of mouth and reviews and I was NOT disappointed. Service, wine list and interior were refreshing and the food was fantastic. Seriously, everyone was raving about the food from the Paella to the Arepas to the Chocolate Soufflé. Will return for sure.

Rude

By Xiang W |

Called for reservation… incredibly rude… I guess you don’t need to be respectful if you’re busy! I hope the food is good because the service leaves something to desired.

Great food and awesome service!

By KJC1261 |

Last night, July 29, 2021, my husband and I took our extended family to one of our favorite places - Savor Bistro. We had made reservations and we were greeted by the chef. It appeared that he was the only other person in the restaurant. Then our server came in. We were treated with such a high level of service! The chef made sure our orders were correct and the food was so tasty. Our in-law stated that the food was the best she had ever had! Thank you for such an awesome evening! Can't wait to return!

Amazing anniversary dinner

By craig |

We just ate at SaVor Bistro for the first time since they reopened recently. They have a new chef and menu, and boy let me tell you it was great. Started with the ceviche and arrows. Both were flavorful and visually appealing. I had the chicken parmesan which was different than any I've ever had and my wife had the scallops. She nearly ordered another portion as it was soo good. They brought us a brie and berries dessert for our anniversary which was decadent. The wine list was nice and varied, and service was great. All in all, 5 stars for sure.

A plethora of choices that's succulent

By Hans Norman |

I'm glad I gave Savor Bistro a chance. They have a plethora of choices that will astound you. Excellent service and professional staff who cater well and recommend the best of all. When I return, I'll bring some of my friends with me to share this secret gem. I highly recommend them for excellent service.

Way too expensive for what you get!

By DTaxMan |

Extremely expensive for what you get. My wife and I went there to try this new place and boy we are sorry we did. Food was not cooked fully, she got a raw shrimp on what was supposed to be a sea food paella. It was rice with too much water, three shrimp (one raw), and two mussels. That was it. We had no alcohol and our bill was over $90.00. A glass of club soda was $5.00, just to list a few. My wife did get sick so we will never return to this place.

We regret trying this restaurant

By LikesGoodMeals |

The menu looked interesting, and although it was a bit of a drive we decided to try it. We ordered a glass of sparkling wine to start and one of the owners, Elizabeth, came by to welcome us and we chatted about the menu and the restaurant. We wanted to order wine, several bottles on the wine list were unavailable. We wanted to order appetizers, "sorry, no Ceviche left, we just sold the last order." I ordered Arepas, a Venezuelan dish, like three "sliders" that are made with masa instead of bread. One chicken, one beef and one cheese. When it arrived, I asked which one was the chicken, I was told they were out of chicken so they gave me two beef Arepas instead... OK, they could have mentioned it when I placed my order. They were also out of the snapper entree. We ordered a pasta dish with beef tenderloin and a braised chicken. We had just been served our bottle of wine, and were still finishing our appetizers when the entrees were placed on the table. That was a problem for us, we think you should pace the meal and make sure the customer is ready for the next course before serving it. I tried my chicken entree but the chicken breast was very dry and the vegetables were overcooked. We think the chef went home and left someone else in charge of finishing our orders since the restaurant was not very busy. The tenderloin served with the pasta was very think and definitely not medium rare as we requested. It took FOREVER to get a visit from our waiter after that, and I had to poke my head in the kitchen to get someone's attention. We voiced our displeasure and after another long wait, the server told us he called the owner and was given permission to take the entrees off the bill. We had the remainder of the wine sealed and left. What a disappointing evening, our one and only night in San Antonio on our road trip. That is not all, the only other customers in the restaurant told us we were behaving in an unacceptable manner, that we were rude and thought ourselves better than everyone else...
