OK, this is standard Tex/Mex food. The breakfast is good but beware of ordering soups early in the day, they taste like the previous days soup and look like it too. The most interesting thing about this restaurant is the cheesy art that is on display and for sale. The art makes for a good topic of discussion. The service is good.

Truly impressed! The service was outstanding and the food was awesome! Three of us ate with drinks and the total was around $30. Me and the kiddo each had two cheese enchiladas... They were awesome! The sauce is made from the "gravy" from the carne asada... Yum! The chips were fresh and the salsa hot.. Almost too hot, so they brought out some different sauce they use for breakfast... That was great sauce! The man ordered chicken enchiladas and a puffy chicken taco... He only shared a bite of the taco... Delicious!!! He said the chicken encheladas were good too. Oh, the rice was excellent, and I never like my rice. Given that we arrived 10 minutes before they closed service was absolutely wonderful and we never felt rushed! If I lived nearby I would be a regular!

We frequent this restaurant because the staff is friendly, food is affordable and tastes good. If you plan to go for weekend breakfast, better go early because you will have to wait to get a seat.

Great food, great service, and very friendly. The staff is always friendly and makes you feel welcome. The food is down home Mexican food made fresh.

We went there for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the genuine freshness of all ingredients, the strong preparation in the kitchen and the outstanding service. My wife had a traditional "crudo" (hangover)special. I had the "huevos a la mexicana" (eggs mexican style). Both of us were absolutely delighted with what we ate plus the homemade flour tortillas. This is a wholesome but simple place in a strip center. It simply delivers on all cylinders!

What a great find. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. It was rather busy but our order came out quickly. The food was outstanding ... Pechuga en la Plancha $8.49 - Grilled chicken breast topped with a delicious cilantro cream sauce and Monterrey Jack cheese. There are daily lunch specials which offer lower priced lunch options. Coworkers recommended and we were not disappointed. Enjoy!!

This is a small Cafe only open for breakfast and lunch 6 days a week and dinner also on Friday. They are lovely people and the food is really good!! Their breakfast tacos are fantastic but I can't say I have had anything there that I didn't really like. Good food, good prices, good people!!!

Not only was the food excellent, but the service was impeccable, extremely friendly and attentive. Mexican food is authentic and they even serve menudo and barbacoa, super tasty. The place is small and always packed, but we never have to wait long. They do close at 2:30, so get there early! If you love homemade Mexican food, with caring service, this is the place!

Wonderful mom and pops style Mexican restaurant. Authentic food and atmosphere makes this a can't miss destination to fill your appetite.

We were told our party of 4 would be seated in 30 min. We only waited 10 before getting a table. The busser that cleaned our table was a bit rude, but perhaps because of all the work he had. It was busy! We all ordered breakfast plates and liked our food. The flour tortillas were wow good! Like, WOW!! Their coffee was very weak, as was their tea. But service was good and food was well done. Nothing really stood out to me, other than those tortillas. However, I would recommend!

I came to sazon with a singles group. There were 26 of us. We were greeted as we walked in and shown to our tables. Dora was our server and did an exceptional job. All orders were correct and we kept her busy with drink orders. She was very polite very attentive to all of our needs. We will definitely be going back.! thank you Dora for a great experience!!

We had a nice breakfast at this restaurant. Staff were warm, friendly, and efficient. Reception welcomed us as soon as we walked in. She asked us to wait a few minutes to clear a table. We were seated quickly. Wait staff introduced herself and offered coffee, water, etc. She poured the coffee and gave chips and salsa. She gave us time to settle in and look through the menu. We had delicious plates- huevos Ranchero with barbacoa, chilequiles, and lengua asada. Portions were just right. The dishes were tasty and not salty. We did not have to wait long for food to be served. Service was excellent. Staff cleared dishes as needed, offered more coffee, and checked to make sure we were ok. This is a great place to start your day.

My favorite place in San Antonio for breakfast. I am from Dallas so I make it a must every time I visit my family in SA. My family goes there so much everyone knows us. They are our extended family always welcoming us in return great food!!

Trip Advisor rarely disappoints and this Mexican place near our resort in San Antonio was a classic example of TA at work. I just love eating where the locals love to eat. This is one of those places....nuff said. Their award winnning tortilla soup is savory and full of the good stuff; chicken, avacado, tortilla, cheese and cilantro. We sampled different tacos and liked them all. My favorite was the bacon, sausage, beef and bean. The owner called them "street tacos." I called them "ridiculously bueno!"

This place is busy! The servers are good. Reviews were great. The ice tea was undrinkable. This was my first experience with “stewed” fajitas and I hope, my last. Not at all what I expected, liked or enjoyed. The cheese enchiladas were good. Not a place I would recommend or return. Kinda wishing I had gone to ... anywhere else.

The food here is not really Mexican. It is Tex-Mex. If you want real Mexican food, try another restaurant. The service I got today was terrible. I observed the tortilla container being cleaned up from one table and then served to another.

Tortilla soup, it was a disappointing, we asked for two large to go. It was in a see through plastic container. Over half the container was Spanish rice it had very little chicken with cheese and one slice of avocado.the rice settled on the bottom and it was over half of the container.

Great Mexican food! We had a great breakfast with our kids as we were staying at the Hyatt and had to get out for a meal. Homemade tortillas, great salsa and authentic Mexican food. It is worth the trip!

We really enjoyed this cafe. Food was so delicious. You know it's good when it kept filling up with patrons well past breakfast time.

Depending on who is cooking, this is a really good restaurant. We've been going here since they opened and with the exception of a handful of visits, the food has been good.

We are staying at Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch and was looking for a breakfast place. Looking for a local place. Saw Sazon online and it looked good. Had a little wait. The food and service was excellent. The prices are very good.. Will go there again

Came here for breakfast with our three kids. They have pancakes, eggs and bacon for the kids, which was nice. I got the chori quiles which were excellent. The food, the salsa, the tortillas, were all very good. I didn't have a scrap of food left on my plate. My wife got the Macha Quile which was also good, though I preferred the Chori Quiles. Coffee was good. The service was attentive and warm. Couldn't have asked for more. Wonderful experience.

there's always a warm friendly welcome at sazons. We've been several times now, which for us is unusual, and we will be going again on our next visit to San Antonio. Don't be put off if there's a queue, javier and his family will move tables and chairs to accommodate you as quickly as possible, but be aware that there are dance studios, gyms, dojos and a whole bunch of other activity centres in the area so Sunday breakfast could become Sunday lunch ! The menu is extensive and varied, the food is based on family recipes and it shows in the taste. Everything is cooked fresh to order which increases the wait time but it's worth it. With generous portions and friendly, family, staff sazons will have you hooked in no time 😀😀😀

Some of the best Mexican breakfast we've ever had. Stopped here while on vacation to seaworld, we will definitely come back.

One of our neighbors told us about this place and said its been here a long time. Well we tried it out and it was ok for a quick bite. We got the puffy tacos and the were pretty good. Its still not the tex mex like blacno Calf.

Wife, brother and I ate here and liked it so much my brother planned our mom's 80th birthday at Sazon on Potranco Road San Antonio, TX. The service, the owner and especially the food were all simply fantastic. When we went back for our mom's birthday party we had over 50 people. Believe me even with that many people the food and the service were just as amazing. I had the asada plate, basically steak fried in a fantastic way (very tasty), the tortillas were homemade and fresh. My wife had the chicken fajitas plate and love it. Everything was hot and very, very good. My wife and I had more than enough food, with sweet tea and of course all the chips you can eat and it came to $34 for the both of us. When in San Antonio near Potranco Road stop by, you will not regret it.

I came in looking for breakfast burritos with Mexican taters / beans / chorizo / eggs / onions and cilantro and cheese served with floor tortillas. The waitress said no, it's called taco so I conceded that she knew more about what they called their food than I so I went with tacos which weren't bad but not what I was really looking for. So I ordered 1 more thing thinking it would be more what I was used to eating at other Mexican restaurants in area. This was called a Rafa's special ( don't get this unless you like pork fat with cheese and egg on a floor tortilla. ) I wish I could rate this place higher but as far as breakfast it lacked to much in flavor and also a slight disadvantage on waitstaff. Speaking my language and or communicating pork fat just wasn't in her vocabulary. The restaurant was clean and staff friendly and opens at 6:30 am

Most neighborhoods have their own Mexican restaurants, but this one is worth the visit. The menudo, caldo, barbacoa, and chilaquiles are my "go-to's" here, as they never disappoint. The tortillas, both corn and flour are outstanding. The coffee needs a little work, but not bad altogether. Maybe venturing to another brand wouldn't be bad idea. The place is always clean, and the servers are genuine.

We last visited in 2010 and used to love this place. We returned today, full of hope that it would be as good as we remembered, and anxious that it wouldn't live up to our memories. IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! The Caldo de Pollo is the best. Everything we had was fantastic. The service was super pleasant. Overall we had a wonderful dining experience. I can't wait to go back.

This place is a great neighborhood restaurant. Every one here is super nice. The food is really good, consistently. I have to say my favorite special is the "videlo loco" . And being from NYC, I am always blown away when the bill comes at how inexpensive it is!!

We were looking for some place close to our hotel so as to not have to pay the outrageous morning buffet charges, and finding this place on TA (and other sites), decided to give it a try. Upon walking in, were warmly greeted and seated by the window. The place was about a quarter full at 11:30. Seemed like mostly locals. Decided if it was good enough for the local crowd, it was good enough for us touristy types. Lunch specials were being offered, along with "all day" breakfast options. Spouse had the Tuesday special - chicken enchiladas. I had the "Sazon special" for breakfast - corn tortillas, covered with eggs over medium (my choice) and topped with a ranchero sauce. Spicy but not too. Served with papas (potatoes) and either retried or charro beans. I got both due to a mix up. Both were excellent, but if you have to choose one, get the charro beans. Amazing. All the food was excellent and hot - temp, not spicy. Decent coffee, friendly service. The place did start to fill up as noon time hit, but not overcrowded. And, as someone mentioned previously - it was very reasonable priced. $13 for two meals and coffee. Highly recommended if you are in the area (like visiting Sea World). Very kids friendly too.

Outstanding breakfast. Great tacos, good coffee , pa likes bf French toast. All was very good bd the service was spot on. So very nice. Gret place

This place is good. Long wait times but some good food. Carne Guisada Enchiladas Bacon and Egg Chorizo Tacos Name it...it’s good!

I cannot express how much I love the food here. I have come during breakfast and lunch and the quality of taste is consistent. Homemade tortillas, tender carne guisada and awesome beef enchiladas. Don't let the location fool you, sometimes the best food is steeping away from the big chain places.
Nurse
Went with company for Nurses week. With co workers. One co worker went ahead to save table as you know you only get one hour to eat. Was waiting for co workers was seated. 10 minutes into wait waitress asked for my co worker to get up and wait again since the rest had not come as they needed the table cuz it was lunch. There was no one waiting in line and there were empty tables around. This family owned neighborhood restaurant with good food is not as humble as they use to be. They are working on a new restaurant I hope they realize there service needs much improvement. Yelling from across the room at someone about needing you to move from a table can be embarrassing. For a large table you stand to make more money than a table for 2/4. Our bill was close to 100.00
