My associate and I took a (fabulous) wrong turn and ended up on Tatooine for a pretty awesome experience. We were way too early for the band/karaoke, but it was still fun! They even have blue milk. The staff was so friendly. It’s a little confusing when their themes are different than Star Wars (mythical creature night when we were there), but I bet it’s better with the crowd.

A place to have fun and let your nerd flag fly. The decor is really fun and fitting for the name. The drinks are unique twists on old favorites. Costumes are welcomed. Some drinks have a little show to them and participation is encouraged. Witness Me, Furiosa being a prime example. The knocks are the same as any busy bar in Hollywood. Prices aren’t cheap. Getting the bartender’s attention for an order can be a test in patience. And you’ll get well drink alcohol unless specified. But this is a place to enjoy a fun evening with your friends while needing out. Definitely worth the trip. Especially in costume.

We went to Scum and Villainy to see a taping of Fatman on Batman at Scum and Villainy with Kevin Smith. The taping was a geekdom dream. The bar was set up to look a little like the cantina on Tatuoine from Star Wars. The decor was disappointing but this could be due to the fact that this started as a pop-up bar. The owners should revisit the themeing if this is going to be made a permanent fixture. The food was just ok. It is typical bar food. Again if Scum and Villainy will be permanent, the food quality could be addressed, especially with all the chefs, food workers, and culinary schools here in Los Angeles. Bottom line though is that we had a very enjoyable evening at this different type of place,

Although the decor of the place was very pleasing, I had a very unusual time here for the two in half hours I was in. Besides feeling as if I was immediately persecuted for the simple way I appeared (came in with a simple white t-shirt and jeans) I was ignored by all of the bartenders/bar-backs after even my friend received his drink, not only that but they all definitely saw me waiting considering I'm a lanky guy standing directly in front of the bar. I had to be somewhat forceful with my words just so I could place my simple beer order and did not enjoy creating that attention. I did enjoy the Karaoke though I was too shy to perform myself. It was very crowded which sometimes I like, but this was a very boisterous kind of crowd that made me feel like an alien (pun not intended). The night continued and my friend and I just began our third and final beers which happened to be two bottles of Corona's with lime. He did this thing I never saw before where he pushed the lime into the bottle then stuck his thumb over the top and slowly turned it upside down, I guess to mix the lime properly. I decided to try this technique and although I have a large thumb I might've turn it upside down too fast and my thumb slightly slipped allowing a thin stream of beer to spray upwards and over to this lady sitting at the bar. That's when all chaos ensued. I had no idea if it hit anyone, until she turned around and began accusing us and calling me all sorts of names. I said sorry once, maybe she didn't hear it because of the volume of the bar so she accused us some more and started a seen, when I said it again she didn't let up, but my friend and looked at each other in awe: that something so clearly accidental was taken so personal. I was ready to put that aside and continue finishing that last beer and heading for a nice nightly walk along the avenue when one of the bartenders/ bar-backs (an average to lower-than-average height male) came to us and although he initially asked us what happened, he simply didn't want to hear it and flat out said that "if it happens again you'll have to leave the bar." I was flabbergast, just in awe about how such a simple accident could be dramatized. So me being my usual self, I figure I needed to leave this drama behind immediately (the pitchforks were next, I felt ostracized and wouldn't be able to hold a conversation.) So I left my friend behind, sort of in a rush. The only thing is I took my beer with me and as I'm already a yard or two outside nearing the abandoned building to the right of the bar I hear a lady behind me saying, "excuse me you cannot take your beer outside" and so I lightly tossed the beer (overhand) behind the plywood of the front entrance to the abandoned building as I walked off. I apologize about this one slightly rash act that didn't even effect the establishment as much as it effected me, but then the next day I hear from my friend that as soon as I left, that the same lady who told me that I couldn't bring the beer outside (who my friend said clearly worked there) directly approached my friend in an aggressive manner and demanded that he leave too (guilty by association, I guess) which he did, but he asked why and she responded aggressively claiming that I attempted to throw my beer at her. I was planning on taking my girlfriend to this cantina since she loves fantasy themed places, but now I figure there's just way too much scum and villainy at Scum & Villainy Cantina. Y'all need to find a proper balance. (Oh I forgot to mention that the first two drinks we got, the bartender said $10 although the menu said $9, I nevertheless tipped $2 for the first round and just a dollar for the other two). Warp Speed 9...Engage!

It's Hollywood, so it is appealing to tourists, but it is worth a visit if you are a fan of Star Wars or anything in the world of fantasy, comic books, or sci-fi. They put a lot into the interior, and it is pretty cool. The mist and lighting add a mood straight from Star War films. Outside of the decor, the feeling was a little quiet, but it was early evening on a Saturday, so we probably came in at the wrong time. The drinks are a little expensive but worth at least one visit.

My husband and I are geeks and we heard about this place on Facebook and didn’t believe it ... a bar that looks like the cantina from Star Wars no way .... yes way!!! It’s not just Star Wars they have everything from anime to Harry Potter it’s a geek dream . The bar tenders were amazing all dressed in character and just super nice and awesome to talk to . The food was good and the detail they put into the menus were so awsome . The drinks were strong and very creative which we really liked to . This trip we didn’t bring our daughter but what we liked was the bar allows kids with parents before 8PM to enjoy food and board games. Great place we will definitely be returning .

We visited Scum & Villainy to see Kevin Smith, but turned up a little early to experience the Cantina as we had heard so much about it online! The staff were all lovely, and there are lots of nods to a variety of different fandoms throughout the building (not just star wars!) A must see for anyone who likes their film and pop culture!

I know the atmosphere and theme would draw most Sci Fi fans, but the staff and clientele really make you return. We've been several times and plan on going several more. We're locals and recommend this bar to all our friends. It's really immersive. The attention to detail is awesome. Any fanyboy/fangirl would love to spend an evening here. The best thing is to people watch. Some of the most amazing cosplay comes through here. Also, it's great to turn to the person next to you and start talking about your favorite TV/movie/comic and they know your reference but also have an opinion about it! An amazing place to spend after any major scif TV show finale or comic book move opening weekend.

The Scum & Villainy Cantina is a Star Wars themed pop up bar that hopefully will be a permanent installation. It is designed after the cantina on Tatoone from Star Wars. They serve themed drinks including Blue Milk (alcoholic) and even have a live band karaoke on Thursday nights. Some nights are very packed and I don't know if they take reservations but it would be a good idea. Love this place and look forward to going back again and again.

This bar should be on every Star Wars geek bucket list. The interior has that vibe of a sci-fi movie set and I think it's best for birthdays and a group gathering. We were there on an early Sunday evening and it wasn't packed at all, so there's plenty of space for group gatherings. The prices are average and not overpriced like some hipster bars.

This place was awesome! The food was so delicious…top quality and reasonable prices/portions. The ambiance/theming were very cool! And the employees were friendly and fun. Highly recommended for food and fun!

It’s on Hollywood Boulevard so it’s not cheap, but it is pretty unique and I would definitely go again. I went on a Wednesday during the middle of the COVID-13 hysteria and it was surprisingly busy. It was trivia night so maybe that’s why. As a video game nerd myself, I had to order the Overwatch “First Person Shooter”. Pics attached.

A very fun place to have a drink or two if you're into millennial-era nerdy stuff (lord knows I am!) Some drinks also come with movie clips, games, or music. The staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. And of course, the Mos Eisley Cantina decor is simply perfect.

Not a lot in a way of items on display that relate to sci-fi. No service since everything is online. I even had to go to the bar to just to get a glass of ice water with my meal. I ordered a wrap and a dessert and they brought both out at the same time. The ice cream on the dessert melted within minutes so there was no ice cream to eat with the brownie that I ordered. Two people working at the bar and only three people total inside the restaurant and no one came by to check up on how the meal was. The chicken Caesar wrap had more croutons than chicken. The best part of the whole was the steak fries covered in salt. If you are in the area, I would just pop in take your pictures and leave. Don’t waste your time spending money in a joint that doesn’t care if your customer.

This was definitely unique. Not something we see in Florida. Wanted to cool off and grab a drink and this was the place! It’s great for the inner geek in us all. The drinks are crafty and the bar is smart and well thought out. It’s techy and I loved it!

So, that was kind of a bummer - our first night in LA we went here and it happened to be the first night of a nearly month-long Game of Thrones theme that is going on here. No Star Wars theme in evidence. We are Star Wars nerds and Game of Thrones isn't something we're into so that was disappointing. Though the GoT theme was really well executed, and there was one Jedi Knight cosplayer. Oh well. Maybe next time. I recommend getting here early; you order food at the bar which was MANY people deep, and on another night we saw people lining up outside way before it opened.

Great time! Drinks were awesome! Trivia night was great! They also serve all you can eat cereal! We had cheese sticks and they were yummy!

This place is a haven for ALL of geekdom. As a fan of the show, Fatman Beyond, we HAD to visit the Scum and Villainy Cantina during our SoCal vacation. It was even better than we imagined! It was smaller than expected, but what it lacked in size, it made up for with ambience. It was obvious how much heart went into it's creation. You could see J.C. Reifenberg's passion for sci-fi/fantasy in the decor. In addition, the staff was so incredibly friendly, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The menu was creative and the food/drinks were delicious. To top it all off, Bamf Man, himself, came to our table and talked to us while we were there! Incredible experience! (Tell Jen we're sorry we kept you away from your work that night 😉) - THE IOWA FAMILY 🤗

Very small, but very dorky and cute! I felt like I was really at the Cantina! Hahaha! It is a bit pricey, though, but for a good laugh and a good time, I'd say go!
Any Star Wars Fans … How About Star Trek?
If you like the cantina scene in Star Wars, you will think this is a fun place. It’s not only for Star Wars fans, but the atmosphere reminded me of that the most. What a fun experience and a cool place to hang out. They do offer food but we only had drinks. The drinks are really fun and have some surprises. The blue milk was interesting. Nothing bad about it, but sometimes your mind can work against of things that are different! We thought it was a really fun place and recommend it if you are a movie buff.
