This was our first visit to this restaurant as I and a friend were celebrating birthdays and this is where they had reservations. Did not know what to expect. We went for dinner around the end of Holiday season. I will say my husband and I were very impressed. Food was presented nicely and drinks were wonderful. Lasagna and Manicotte were delicious! The sauce used in both were delicious! It is more upscale than say Olive Garden. I personally would not take young children for dinner. We had a wonderful guitarist playing directly behind us. Made for the perfect setting. He happenrd to hear our conversation about our birthdays and began playing "Happy Birthday" in Italian guitar style. We loved it! I would say to not fear when food arrives and you think wow not much for the price. It is actually perfectly portioned and very filling. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I feel it is the best Italian place in San Antonio. Midlevel prices but quality food!!

Four of us dined recently at Scuzzi's. The service was very good with at least three staff members stopping by our table during the meal. I had the Salmone Alla Aneto with a garlic, dijon and capers white wine sauce. The salmon was very good--cooked just right. The sauce was very tasty but you must enjoy capers to like this dish. Scuzzi's is a solid restaurant choice. It has a nice atmosphere, multiple menu choices and always excellent service.

I like this place! The food is always very good, they have a varied wine selection and polite engaging personnel. Try the Shrimp Scuzzi appetizer with a side of pasta, a bottle of wine, warm bread and a dessert. This place is a great value for the money.

Not quite sure what the issue was. Maybe because we were here at lunch time on a Saturday. They don’t offer the lunch menu on Saturday’s. The waiter was either new or didn’t know and he was doing. We ended up ordering appetizers and salads. Large portions. However, the dinner salad and appetizer (main course) came out all at the same time. Our daughters kid cheese pizza was supposed to come out first. It came out 20 minutes after we got our food. He kept making excuses about it being one baked and all of their oven baked dishes take 20 min. Sounds like poor planning to me. Then he kept on about how slow the oven dishes always are. Overkill! Slow service and it wasn’t even busy. Will not go back. Building seemed a mess. Needs updating also.

Went to Scuzzi's with every intention of getting pasta - set in the bar area and the bartender suggested this eggplant dish that was amazing! So glad I took her recommendation - I can always get pasta and this dish was remarkable! Sorry I don't remember name - not eggplant parm - please order even if you think you don't like eggplant...

My partner and I had lunch at Scuzzi’s, and it was the perfect choice! The atmosphere was cozy and romantic, and the service was excellent. We shared the bruschetta to start, and both our entrées were fresh and flavorful. The portions were great, and the meal felt special without being too pricey. Whether you’re looking for a casual lunch or a nice date spot, Scuzzi’s is a winner. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I had been told that Scuzzi's had wonderful food and that it could be compared by some as a less expensive version of Paesano's? We hadn't had Paesano's? in ages and always loved it in Houston. We went to Scuzzi's during a late afternoon recently and found the Shrimp Scuzzi's to be a wonderful version of what we remembered the dish to be at the other restaurant. I can't speak as to price because it's been too many years to compare the two but the flavors of the main dish were exquisite and the salad and bread were very nice. We both felt that the service and the price were part of what made the meal enjoyable.

We visited Scuzzi’s for Mother’s Day and had a great lunch. I was a little leery of going to a restaurant in a shopping center for a special occasion, but the inside is very nice — even has a piano! One of our party had chicken Parmesan, another had chicken with asparagus, and the third had soup and salad. The Mom we were celebrating took home mini cannolis for dessert. Everything was excellently prepared, good-size servings, and our waiter, Tanya, did a great job. We’ll definitely be back!

I ordered.and consumed the most amazing Chicken Gorganzola dish with. Side of gluten free pasta. Our server, Andrew, was fabulous, everything was totally enjoyable. Scuzzi's is a cross between casual and fine dining. Attire can be jeans or dress shorts at the dinner hour but a nice dress is not out of order for the ladies.

Good food, great dessert! The chocolate mousse dessert was outstanding! Nice Italian atmosphere complimented by Italian music.

My wife and I just had the WORST experience with the supposed owner of Scuzzi’s Italian Grill. I called the restaurant before we came to be sure that we could be seated, and they said that we could. As soon as we arrived, they stated that all of their indoor tables were reserved. We opted to sit outside, which we had done in the past. Due to it being a bit cold, we asked if we could have the outdoor heater turned on. When our appetizers came out, approximately ten minutes after we were seated, we asked about the heater again, and were told that they did not have the fuel to turn them on. We then went inside to sit at the bar, at which time we asked to speak to the manager. A person came to our table, dressed the same as the servers, and identified himself as the “owner”. When asked about the patio heaters, he said that they did not have the fuel, and that we were welcomed to go to Academy or HEB to find some. I told him that his rudeness was uncalled for, and he then proceeded to tell my wife and I to enjoy what we had on our table and leave. I asked him if he was really telling us to leave and he said “yes” and walked away. We have frequented this location at Military and 1604 and have NEVER received such poor customer service. His attitude and rudeness was uncalled for. I sincerely hope that he was not the owner, because if he was, he truly needs to learn more about hospitality.

Went there this Sunday for lunch and was impressed by nice atmosphere, well prepared food and reasonable prices.Veal scalopine, rarely seen in local restaurants here, was very good. We had the Italian Wedding Cake, which we enjoyed since it was our 3 months wedding anniversary. Water served is undrinkable. Told management and orderded bottled water.

It was a very nice evening with family and friends. Service was excellent, our farsi waiter (scuzzi, I forgot your name) took excellent good care of us. The food was delicious!

Best italian food I had in a while. Their new wine list is very unique they have 4oz and 6oz pour by glass which gave me an option to choose. Friendly staff keep up the great work.

Spectacular little cozy Italian place. The ambiance is intimate and conducive to conversation. It's the perfect little spot to meet with a friend and relax. Our server was very busy but she took care of us really quickly. We even met the owner, Mazi, who stopped at our table and ask how our night is going. This is a simple, yet elegant place to enjoy good food. I definitively recommend.

Tonight was my second visit to this restaurant and I am blown away by this chef's sauces. First time was a salmon special and tonight was seafood stuffed eggplant. Don't let the name fool you. Its sauce was 5*Michelin! Delectable with saffron threads incorporated...multo bueno😚

There are a lot of happy hours in San Antonio, but this place is one of the best. They have $5 wines by the glass, or $20 per bottle (and a nice selection to choose from), $7.99 appetizers which are wonderful, and great service from our bartender Chris. I have dined several times in the restaurant and have not been impressed. The bar has a completely different atmosphere and is so much more fun! One caution; sometimes during happy hour there will be a large party booked for the restaurant but they start out in the bar. The bar gets slammed and it's hard to find a seat or get served. Otherwise, it's one of my favorite places.

Enjoyed celebrating family birthdays at Scuzzi’s. Menu choices for everyone; pastas, salmon and more. Nice wine choices as well. We will be back soon. Service was great.

Pro: -Food was tasty Cons: -Service was not friendly (We did not see one employee smile.) -Portions were very small -Price was high for the size of portions -Atmosphere was ok

This restaurant has a truly Italian taste . The decoration does not match the great quality of the food . We loved the bolognesa sauce , and the pomodoro had a fantastic flavor .

Dinner with my family was wonderful here! My server was very knowledgeable, the food was delicious, and the service was exquisite! We will definitely be coming back!

Dined here for the first time with two friends on a Saturday evening, so we made reservations thru OPEN TABLE. Our tiny table for four was crammed up against the next table where one of them was constantly bumping my arm. Never doing our 2.5 hours at Scuzzi's were all the tables occupied, so didn't understand why we had to be slammed up against another bunch of diners. The noise level was high. Huge menu with pages to choose from. Complimentary load of bread - tough as tho it had been reheated one too many times. Appetizer Fried Calamari - tasteless. Caesar Salad (small) - served overflowing on a small plate. Beef Lasagna - Hubby's entrée and he said Olive Garden has better. Veal Parmesan with a side of linguini marinara - Veal medallions were tender, but smothered with too much marinara sauce. Didn't care for the marinara - very bland and very tart. Dessert - Even tho Tiramisu and Cheesecake was on the menu, we were informed they did not have any, so yet another disappointment. We were offered grated cheese tableside to top our entrees, but it was a bowl of grated cheese so who knows when it was grated... Service was good, but we felt rush, as tho they needed our table, but there wasn't anyone waiting throughout the evening and there were other tables available. Probably won't return as there are much better Italian restaurants in San Antonio at comparable prices.

Eat here a few times a year and am never disappointed. Love their soups and appetizers. Entrees are great and reasonable prices.

Tasty, authentic, made from scratch Italian dishes served by knowledgeable, well trained waitstaff in a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere.

Had a good meal for the price. Our server was very nice but did mess up our wine order. Half price wine bottles that night and I ordered the lesser price chianti and he repeated back my order. My dining companion let me pick wine and did not look at list. Wine came out while I was in restroom and we were served higher price wine by mistake. It was half off but cost of wine drove our bill up pretty high.

I like this place, and had a really good meal. But I had to work for it. Our waiter was so nice but clueless about the restaurant week menu. It wasn't on the table or with the menu, and I had to "know" they had specials in order to get that offering. This seems counter-productive to me. It was a three course meal with choices of chicken, salmon, or filet. I had the filet and my friend had salmon. Both were good as was the shrimp scuzzi appetizer. It was also half price wine night which is always a treat. I would return but think they need to do a better job training their servers about what is going on.

The ambiance was nice despite the dim lighting to read the menus. However, cellphone lights came out and flashlights were offered and all was ok. The food was tasty, ample portioned, fair and reasonably priced and well -plated. The service, Spasibo to Tatiana and 'her team'.They were absolutely superb and flawless!

Staff was great, food was delicious! Great place for business meetings and connecting with friends. I would definitely recommend Scuzzi's to a friend.

Read the reviews and decided to try it. It far exceeded our expectations! Very nice but casual place with top shelf food. The bruschetta, tomato basil soup, spaghetti with meat sauce and eggplant parmigiana were all fantastic. Ryan was our waiter and he went above and beyond to help us select and make sure we loved everything. This is a great, authentic place! It will be a must stop on our visits to San Antonio.

My husband and I went to "First Friday" Happy Hour last evening and had a very pleasant experience. It was our first Happy Hour there, although we've eaten there 6 or 7 times. We sat at the bar rather than the patio as it was still warm at 6:30. The bar was not crowded. Bartenders were very personable. Enjoyed talking to other couples sitting at the bar. (We are in our 60's and they seemed our age or slightly older). My husband had his standard dinner for Scuzzi's - Chicken Napolitana - and we split a Scuzzi salad with Italian dressing (best salad we've ever had - we get it every time we eat at Scuzzi's). I had the delicious Scuzzi shrimp and some toasted ravioli. Each $5 appetizers. With splitting the salad and enjoying the delicious warm bread, that was a good dinner for me. My only complaint is the happy hour wine selection. Can't complain too much for $5 a glass, but it is a very cheap wine - Crane Lake. I looked it up on the internet and it sells for $1.50 to about $4.00 a bottle. I had one glass then ordered a glass of the Guenoc Chardonnay for $9 a glass. It was so much better than the Crane Lake! Wish they would reduce the prices on their other wines for happy hour. For example, $2 off other wines by the glass. My husband drank Blue Moon for $4 a bottle and it was refreshingly cold! First Friday Happy Hour is from 4 to 11 pm so you don't have to rush to get there. That's a plus as we ran into a lot of traffic on the way there on 1604 and didn't arrive until 6:30. Beautiful view from the patio so plan on going back when the weather is cooler and sit on the patio for happy hour.

This place was perfect all around. From the moment we walked in for a date night we were welcomed with gratitude and excellent service, the waiter was amazing, and even after we left we received a complimentary certificate in our mail for a free meal from the manager himself. This place was amazing and will be at our top of the list!

My husband and I went to Scuzzi's to celebrate our anniversary....there was a very sweet sign and table decor that addressed our special day! It was our first visit and it was on a recommendation....wow, it is definitely on our short list of keepers. We both agreed it might have been the best Italian meal we had ever had.......eggplant parmesan and Italian sausage cacciatore. Our waiter, Claudio, was perfect: knowledgeable, attentive (but not intrusive) upbeat mood and great server.

We made a reservation for 6:15pm and waited in line for 15 minutes to be told that they would put our name on a list and the wait would be an hour and a half. They said that they took 502 reservations for that evening, sorry. Quite an example of greed and poor service. We have eaten at this restaurant numerous times before but will not go back.

The food was tasty. The drinks order was off. (We sent it back twice!) but they DID try to get it right. However the "head" waiter had "an attitude" and made a large party of senior citizens feel inferior - treating them as fools rather than valued. Scuzzi's need to review their service staff and instill some respect for the paying customers.

We did not eat here but stopped in for drinks and visiting. The waiter pushed tables together to get the group together. Nice piano music in the background. Was a very relaxing setting. Would go here again.

We wanted to go to Maggiano's, but left after told the wait was 1 hr, 15 mins. Decided to try Scuzzi's since it was on our way home and we had never been there before. We waited quite awhile to be seated, finally one of the servers came up to the host stand and asked us if we had been helped, we said no and he went to get menu's to seat us. He wiped the snot from his nose and wiped it on his pants right there in front of us, we should have left right then. We waited another 10+ minutes before our server greeted us. He got us water and bread, the bread is very bland and the oil served to dip it in is just that, olive oil with a few shreds of basil in it. Waited even longer to have our order taken, finally the server who wiped his nose came over and said we looked like we had been waiting for too long, he took our order and gave it to our server. I got the basic spaghetti and meatballs and it was very bland as well. My husband got a specialty pasts (I forget the name) that had a smoky flavor that was almost too much. We ended up taking most of our dinner home and it ended up in the trash days later. We will not be returning, there are much better Italian options in San Antonio.

If your craving good Italian food head out to 1604 & NW Military Rd. Scuzzi's Italian Restaurant never disappoints! Try the Shrimp Scuzzi, you'll be back for more!

My wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and I had the special which included tenderloin. When the waiter asked me to cut into the tenderloin to check whether it was cooked appropriately, he should have noticed it was not easy to get the steak knife through the meat. I should have returned it, but thought maybe the rest might be fine – it was not and I found myself sawing into every bite to make is less chewy. This is supposed to be a fine dining establishment, but I did order off a special menu, the proceeds from which were to go to culinary students so I suspect the establishment may have used a lower quality of meat to cut its losses – or maybe I simply was unlucky (additionally, the cubed potatoes on the side were rather bland and flavorless). When a staff member, whom we would later find out was the manager, came by early on and asked how everything was my wife told him “fine”. I chose to hold my tongue. Later when the waiter collected the plates he too asked and I replied it was “okay”. When the waiter expressed concern about my characterization, my wife said words to the effect, “my Chilean bass was wonderful, but my husband’s steak was tough.” He apologized. Then ensued a disagreement about a $10 discount coupon which seemed applicable to my wives’ dinner which was ordered off the regular menu. The waiter apologized but said it could not be used. When my wife questioned this, he went back to talk to the manager and returned to apologize again and say it could not be used. My wife asked to speak to the manager. From the start the manager was confrontational, escalated the disagreement, and failed to make any attempt to defuse the hostile atmosphere he created (at one point he said there are, and I quote, “rules and regulations” that prevented him from accepting the coupon. During their discussion, I told the manager at least twice to just go away and we would pay the bill. He seemed insistent on beating us into submission and accept his view. At the end of the discussion he finally said that he would “pay the $10” himself and left in a huff). The waiter delivered the check, once again apologized, I wrote a comment on the check (see picture), signed it, and we tried to leave. The manager was waiting for us by the door and in a sarcastic tone told us “Thank You”. I replied in kind, whereafter he followed me into the parking lot and an extended argument ensued which turned profane. After about 5 minutes of what seemed irrational behavior on his part I told him I was going to call 911, he said “go ahead, go ahead and call 911.” I got my phone out and prepared to dial at which point he slapped my hand knocking the phone into the parking lot. At this point, angry about the assault and my phone, I approached and he backed-up all the way to the door and I followed confronting him face to face. His response to this was to call out “I have a witness” (referring to the valet). At that point I turned and left and joined my wife at the car. I have never in my life experienced anything at a restaurant like this. We usually are generous tippers and tip at times when we have every reason not to. We also seldom complain about meals or return dishes even when we probably should have done so. But getting back to the manager… The proper action by the manager would have been to have been respectful at the table and surely to have never pursued me into the parking lot but to have returned to the restaurant (or done the same at any point later in the extended argument). Based on his conduct he should be fired (interestingly, during the outside encounter, he reminded me once again said we had told him the food was “fine”. When I informed him that we had told the waiter that the steak was tough he said “then I should fire him, he should not be working here”). While I agree the waiter probably should have addressed the comment in some way or another, I hardly thought it was reason for this hothead to fire anyone (other than himself). I would not be surprised if the waiter did bring our concerned to the manager at it was not addressed - based on his behavior at the table and outside the restaurant. Unbelievable experience, we will not be back. Based on the foregoing, the owner should go back into the system and comp the entire meal. What should have been a enjoyable date night was ruined by the manager's repeated inappropriate behavior.

We were here from out of town to celebrate a special birthday for our granddaughter. Couldn't have asked for anything better! The service was fantastic and included an Italian birthday serenade, the food was delicious and fresh, and the room was handsome and great as well. We were a large party and the servers were top notch. Food was served with multiple waiters which was fun to experience. There is an extensive wonderful wine and food menu. Delicious and fun. I highly recommend this Italian restaurant.

My partner and I are big fans of Culinaria SA. We've frequented several of the upscale restaurants that participate in this event. Needless to say we were very disappointed when we visited yesterday evening. I made a reservation for 7:30 and upon arrival it was chaos. 1) A drag show was scheduled at this venue and it appears that the restaurant wasn't fully prepared to support such an occasion. 2) The hostess took my name then was rudely interrupted by a staff member requesting menus. She helped him and then about faced toward our table never once asking us to follow. We stood there in confusion not sure if we should proceed to follow her or stay put. 3) Once seated it took several minutes for our waiter to come to the table and took longer than normal to be served our entree's. 4) Our booth was adjacent to the bar entry way and while eating a waitress (dark hair/blonde tips) could be overheard asking a coworker about a "small pee-pee and balls" referring to one of the drag participants. I turned to look her way and she covered her mouth and then asked if she said that too loud. Umm- yes you said that too loud! On another occasion another waiter came to the bar entry way and stated "are you ready for this long ass list"? Definitely not the language one would be expecting to hear among customers. 5) My partner reported that both urinals were covered and out of order and there was only 1 stall to be used. There were open beer bottles sitting in the bathroom and oh yah - he used the last of the paper towels. 6) For the price you pay for the meal while participating in Culinaria the food was no more than mediocre. This place does not compare to any of the other participants such as Aldo's, J Prime, Silo's and many more. Needless to say we will not be revisiting this establishment. Don't waste your time or money.

Delightful Italian restaurant with very calming music, decor, and ambiance. Excellent variety of food options. Friendly, efficient, and professional service. We look forward to going back again and again.

Delicious Italian eatery in San Antonio. My friend and I came across this place couple of days ago. Top notch service from the waiters and staff. They were great with recommendations. The food itself was amazing. I ordered the Grilled Tenderloin and it was heaven! Just the right amount to leave you full, but also light enough where you didn't feel like you were in a food coma. Very reasonable prices. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in the area!

Enjoyed lunch at Scuzzi's today. Ver extensive menu of Italian foods. Service was polite and very efficient while unobtrusive. Custom orders graciously acknowledged. Food was very fresh, hot and tasty. Prices reasonable. Did not try pizza or dessert so cannot speak to that.

My mother and I visit here frequently for lunch on Sat or Sun. Always pleased with the consistent service and quality of the food. Can't beat the Shrimp Scuzzi if you are in the mood for a rich, lemon butter lightly battered dish. Yum!

Restaurant very dark we couldn't read menu had to use flash light. Servings very small not a good value for premium pricing. Food tasted good, romantic atmosphere.

I'll keep this review short and to the point for anyone considering eating here here. I have been there twice for different occasions and each time I was immediately struck by the same thought: the prices were well above average and the portion size was well below average. No matter what you order, you would probably feel the same way too once your food arrived. They do serve ok tasting bread, but bring out olive oil in very small containers (if you like to dip your bread in olive oil, you will probably need 5 containers worth to get a decent amount to dip with). The positive side is that the meals are usually tasty and well prepared, and the wine prices are not too bad. If you are looking for Italian, I suggest to head to Maggianos, Carrabas, or maybe try an independent place like Little Italy. I know Maggianos and Carrabas are chain restaurants, but you will get 1.) more food that 2) tastes as good or better, and 3.) walk out with a much lower bill to boot!!!! Hope this helps!

Having been to Scuzzi's previously and having had average Italian food, we decided to give it another chance. Unfortunately, we shouldn't have as our culinary experience was awful. There was no issue at all with the service, it was just the food. The three pastas dishes that were ordered were literally dredged in oil and we had to send one back it was so bad. The margarita flatbread was tasteless with no sauce base, just dough and cheese. The pastas arrived to the table at a good temperature, however the flatbread was room temp at best. It was a busy Friday night, but what is it with families that don't keep their kids in check! The ambience as a result was also terrible. We can't in good conscience give this place another chance, it was that bad.

This location has fantastic food and service. We have been for happy hour and dinner and loved apps and entrees. Highly recommend!

We used to frequent Scuzzi's about 2 times a month for dinner but it's highly likely we'll never return. We arrived at 9 p.m. on a Monday night & were surprised to see only two other tables occupied...this should have been a red flag. The bar had about 6 people seated. We ordered dinner & our drinks were brought immediately. Unfortunately the iced tea was incredibly weak and when a server finally returned we requested a replacement. He said he would have more tea made..... it never arrived at the table, nor did the server return and refill the water glasses during the entire meal. (It's nice to have liquid during a meal!) The entrees (salmon) were fine although the mixed veggies had no flavor. The server finally returned to give us our bill and we requested that the tea charge be removed. At that point he remembered he had not brought us another iced tea and he apologized saying that he had simply forgotten because he was also managing the bar! Apparently, he was the only person authorized to serve at this point although there were 3 other employees on the floor all of whom seemed to be busy sweeping the floor, setting up tables for the next day, etc. It seems that if a restaurant puts on their website that they are open until 10 p.m., there were be sufficient staff to provide service to their guests and not depend on the bartender to also serve customers who are eating a meal. Perhaps there is a management problem. The bartender AKA server DID apologize but it simply wasn't sufficient to make up for should have been a nice dining experience. There are plenty of places on the north side of San Antonio who serve good food and also have good service... Scuzzi's really messed up this time.

Great Italian dining spot in San Antonio! Had a party of ten and it was very nice, our waiter was attentive and our food was served by several so we each received our meal at the same time! Quite a feat. Wine list very extensive and many good choices. Our diners for the evening enjoyed every thing from scrumptious salads with chicken, nuts, berries, and tasty balsamic, scallops that melted in your mouth and Veal Marsala with fettuccine as the side. The children enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs and chicken fingers...mmmm good. I think I remember seeing 10 clean plates! The bread, olive oil and garlic seasoned butter were an added speciality.

Scuzzi's has delicious food. I require a gluten free diet and I feel comfortable eating there because they are very agreeable to prepare my food the way that I need it prepared. I enjoy dining there with my family and friends who also like their food.

Had dinner at Scuzzi's, and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing evening. The food was delicious-everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who made sure we had a great experience. Whether for a date night or a family dinner, Scuzzi's is a great choice. Can't wait to come back!

Caution! Website offers happy hour meal pricing on weekends, but when we arrived we were told only weekdays. This restaurant has good to great food and good service ... but this is not the first time we have been captured as a diner by deceiving information from some marketing practice or information that is not honored once seated.

From the first course to the last course everything was delicious. I highly recommended their creme brulee!!! And go on a Tuesday for half priced wine bottles, had a $120 bottle for $60!! All the food is fresh and authentic, will go again and highly recommended to my friends.

Parking is tough .....I was there for lunch Had a nice salad with Chicken Piccata ! Felt the place needs some up keep and a little over priced

We enjoy Scuzzi's - but I always forget that they short pour their bar drinks. I have attached a picture of a drink I ordered - Single Malt Scotch - Neat (no ice). As you can see there is barely enough Scotch in the glass to cover the bottom - my guests estimated that the pour was between 1/2 and 3/4 of an ounce - or about 1/3 of what should have been in the glass. As a former bar owner and bartender, I can attest to the "short-pour syndrome" that affects many establishments that serve alcohol in the Alamo city. I have written in Trip Advisor about many of them. The food at Scuzzi's is good - always very consistent quality and reasonable priced. They did not have my first wine selection which counts as another demerit against the restaurant. There is absolutely no excuse for running out of wine. One point to Scuzzi's credit - the manager overheard me complaining about my drink - he brought me another - on the house. Nice touch! The service was adequate.

I have been coming to Scuzzi's for years. Mazi the owner has always been curtious and kind. The staff are great.Service is amazing and the food is absolutely delicous. I highly recommend anyone to enjoy the taste of Scuzzi's whether it is for parties, office meetings, lunches, family dinners or birthdays. Any special occasion you will really enjoy.

Great place for business dinners and large groups . Had a party or 30 and it was excellent the food was outstanding and the manager owner offered a great menu to accommodate all my vip people . I highly recommend to any one looking for great food and great service

A really nice place. Food very good...cannolis were great. Request for quiet table was appreciated. Attentive staff.

From the moment my family and I walked in the door we knew we'd picked the right place for italian food in San Antonio. I was i town visiting for father's day and my sisters and I wanted to go try something special together. From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty. Our server Thomas was personable and attentive. I finally decided on the chicken piccatta. It was amazing. Afterward we ahared the chocalate lava cake and it was to die for. My sisters all said they would return and I look forward to stopping by next time I'm back in town.

Being from the East Coast, I have been told that we can be food snobs. This restaurant was recommended to us and I wasn't disappointed. The quality of the food was very good. My Cosmo was delicious...made just like I like it and Omar, our waiter, was more than excellent, along with anyone else who attended to our party of 10. I would definitely visit this restaurant again when visiting San Antonio.

Scuzzi's is by far our favorite Italian restaurant in San Antonio! Even though we have to drive 20 minutes or so and negotiate the construction at 281 & 1604, we choose Scuzzi's at least twice a month. Every dish we've had has been very tasty and well prepared. We also like the option of choosing vegetables as a side dish rather than always having pasta with an entree of chicken or seafood. The servers are attentive and the atmosphere is one of both comfort and elegance. The evening view from the patio looking toward downtown San Antonio in the distance is one of the best in the city. The restaurant does get busy on the weekends, so it's not always possible to immediately get a table/booth that one prefers but if you're willing to wait a few minutes rather than be seated immediately, the hostess will accommodate you.... just ask! The manager(s) recognize return customers and will always stop by to say hello even when they are busy helping out the servers. Fill out the customer feedback card and get on their mailing list. Management occasionally sends out email coupons as well as $10 coupons via US postal service that are good on the next visit. Give it a try if you haven't found this wonderful restaurant yet. Scuzzi's is the best!

Scuzzi's has excellent quality food at decent prices. The servers are very attentive and always helpful. Mazi, the Manager is hands-on and really appreciates your business. My wife's favorite is the Eggplant Parmiagine and mine is the Meat Ravioli. We have taken large groups on Mother's Day and other busy days and the service and food are just as good as if it were just the two of us-its a really great place.

New Yorkers know italian food and this was very good. The service was excellent, the food was great and we really had an enjoyable family dinner.

My husband and I have eaten here before and found the food good. The service was really impressive because they continually cleaned our table of bread crumbs and refilled our tea and water numerous times. We didn't have to wait very long for the food to arrive.

Went with some friends last night and Loved it! I had the beef lasagna - very mild and tasty! The chocolate lava divine cake was fantastic!! Our server, Michael, was friendly and attentive. Loved the atmosphere - warm and everyone was friendly. The prices were good for the amount of food you got. We'll definitely go back.

my husband took me here for a late lunch on mother's day - and it was outstanding!! the service was excellent and the food was amazing!!! the server even scraped the crumbs off the table [from the individual loaves of wonderful crusty bread they start off with] between the meal and our dessert. when my husband ordered coffee with his dessert, they brought out the cup and saucer, percolator, and cream on a tray. the coffee cup had hot water in it that they poured into another cup and then poured the coffee into the hot cup!! we will definitely be back!!!!!!

Scuzzi's is close to Camp Bullis, along with some other restaurants. We went there for lunch and the place wasn't busy. We got a table close to the kitchen, meaning there was a lot of noise and various smells. Both of us ordered water, Coke, Caesar salad, and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The salad was rather small and included a little bit of everything. Of course, the staff also served us the bread, which was delicious. When we ravenously inhaled the first order of bread, the second order appeared. Fettuccine Alfredo was actually quite delicious, fettuccine were cooked al dente, the sauce was in just the right amount and wasn't overwhelmed with flour. The chicken breast was grilled, spiced up and sliced - there was no mystery as to what chicken you are getting (like with quite a few restaurants). In all, the food was delicious, water and bread a plenty, and it was all reasonably priced. So why the lack of a point if it was so good? Atmosphere was lacking a bit, as the restaurant was nearly empty, and the waiting staff relaxed and started joking with each other. And, in such an empty restaurant we were placed close to the kitchen, bringing the noise and the smells. It was a bit dark inside the restaurant, which is nothing that an upgraded lighting system wouldn't fix. Bon apetit!

We met friends for lunch and our food was not hot. Our waitress was very nice and helpful though. We had been dissapointed before, but our friends insisted on eating there. Thought we wouldn't be dissapointed again. The restaurant was very clean, but the mens bathroom was smelly and did not look clean and it was just one hour after opening for business. The food took a long time to get to us, guess it was held back for some reason. We will not return.

Some construction going on with the patio facing 1604. The quasi al-fresco room will seat 60 - 80 when finished according to management. This large semi-enclosed area will also have it's own small bar. The bread, salad and paesano-style shrimp that we consumed were all well prepared, plated and presented. Only a minor complaint about one of the shrimp being just a tad mushy - hardly noticeable when covered with the rich butter, garlic wine sauce that would make a pair of Crocs appetizing. Greeted with enthusiasm, served with passionate gentility, and bade farewell with sincerity, it's a class act. Scuzzi needs no excusing when it comes to enjoyable dining.

I went to lunch at Scuzzi's today and ordered the Pollo di Senape Chicken medallions sautéed with mushrooms in mustard cream sauce. Scuzzi's gives you a lot of food so this came with their house salad (spring greens & balsamic vinaigrette) as well as a side of pasta. The chicken was tender, the mushrooms were perfectly sautéed and the sauce was not too heavy. The price was a bit steep for lunch ($12.99) but considering all the food I got, I got over it pretty quickly.

A friend was in town and wanted Italian food, so we stopped by. We enjoyed our meals... Good portion sizes. I had a chicken meal; it was average. Our server was very attentive. I had no complaints, but experienced no fireworks either. Eventually I'll go back, since I love Italian food, and give it another go.

This place is owned by Morie who also owns the Bourbon Streets, Papa Nachos, and several other places in town. All Morie's restaurants have one thing in common; great food and talented, and helpful employees. Lunch time was during mid-December and it was very busy. We ordered the beef lasagna and the Chicken Napolitano. The chicken was a double grilled breast with steamed mixed veggies in the center. The spaghetti pasta came with butter and garlic. This was a tasty dish. The lasagna did not look like a typical multi-layered pasta. It was smaller and thinner with plenty of meat and cheese. It was all covered with a creamy red sause that was very good. The Italian bread was served hot and fresh and the overall service was very impressive considering how busy they were here. This is our sixth visit to Scuzzi's and we always enjoyed our meal.

We questioned the restaurant when we drove up, but it is a really nice, high-class restaurant, one of the few with tablecloths. Very nice interior and bar. Led was very nice and took excellent care of us.

We had not been to Scuzzi's in a while due to the pandemic and other reasons. It is also not very close to our house. A few years ago, they had remodeled the bar. I never liked this newer version as it now appears crowded and it is hard to navigate around the tables to get to the bar itself. The wine list was never very impressive but I usually found a red wine to order and the appetizers were pretty good. I liked the shrimp and the mussels were good. Occasionally, I would order the caprese salad. But the tomatoes really need to be in season. They were in the process of adding an outdoor patio, which is now complete. My sister and I decided to go for their Happy Hour. They have an updated HH drink and food menu. Every drink and menu item that we ordered we could not finish and was horrible! The first waiter/bartender told us that the younger bartender would help us and that he (the younger man) had actually taught him how to make drinks. If that was the case, I suggest he learn from someone else! The younger man had only been there a short time and could not answer basic questions regarding how items on the food menu were prepared. I ordered their Mexican Martini. I asked what made this a Mexican Martini and the bartender said, "olive juice." I was not impressed but it was drinkable and had a chile/salt rim. He also brought over two olives, which he said that he had forgotten. My sister ordered the cucumber martini. It was super sweet and had a very over-the-top cucumber flavor. It tasted like a cucumber syrup and cloyingly sweet. She asked for a glass of ice and poured the drink over that to dilute the taste. When I saw the tuna appetizer, I was very excited. I love seared ahi tuna! What a mess!!! The "sauce" was a super sweet gloppy glue with mango pieces. Someone had added enough red pepper flakes to choke on. I asked for soy sauce, which they did not have. I moved the tuna slices to a smaller plate and tried to scrape off the red pepper flakes from the top of the tuna slices. The tuna, although cooked well, had no taste whatsoever, except for the harsh taste of the red pepper flakes. When I tried to cut one of the slices, there was so much gristle, that I had to shred the slice of tuna to find edible bites. A soy vinaigrette with a slight Asian flair and minimal red pepper flakes would be a good sauce for the tuna. My sister ordered the caprese salad. Another miss! The tomatoes were so under ripe that they appeared almost white. I get better tomatoes at the Farmer's Market on Evers Road on Wednesday mornings. The slices of mozzarella were thin and rubbery. The balsamic reduction was not all that flavorful. I decided to order a Cosmopolitan, another selection from their martini menu. It looked and tasted like a watered down cough syrup. We were going to order wine but gave up after the drink and food disasters. We left the food and drinks, paid and left the bar. Recommendation: SA has many other HHs with much better drink and food offerings!

I came to Scuzzi’s for Valentine’s Day week with my family and had an amazing time. The food and service were top tier. With a nice quite scenery.

We decided to go to Scuzzi's since we had noted some good published reviews and recommendations from some locals. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were sadly disappointed. The atmosphere was a weak attempt to seem authentic Italian. The waiter was friendly enough but not terribly knowledgeable-when we ordered wine, he asked us if we wanted it right away or when our main course was served. A strange question. Food was mediocre, My veal scallopini was swimming in too much sauce. My wife's lasagna hardly had any layers and was not tasty. When my espresso was served, the waiter managed to spill some onto the saucer as he warned me to be careful as it was very hot. But it was actually disappointingly lukewarm-and terrible-tasted like instant espresso.

Service was great. Only issue was waiting for our dink order. Food comes out quickly was is tasty. Highly recomend.

If you ever find yourself in northwest San Antonio for work, with customers, and you're craving Italian, Scuzzi's is a solid choice. I went there with a customer very last minute, and we had a delicious meal for a decent price. The service was good, we were sat (and fed) pretty quickly, and the restaurant environment and size allow you to have a good, clear conversation with whoever you're with. I wouldn't say this is a romantic spot. But there are worse places to eat if you find yourself there late with a loved one. I enjoyed my chicken piccata, and my colleague's flat bread looked pretty good. Salad appetizers did their jobs... All in all, I would return to Scuzzi's if/when I'm back in NW San Antonio.

We felt a wonderful sensation of being in Italy as we entered Scuzzi’s! We were very warmly welcomed, and taken to our table ( we were a party of 9)! We asked for water and was brought to us a we looked over the menus! Their selections of wine and beer, the appetizers, soups, salads and entrees were all mouth watering! We all selected some same, and others different things, even to the specials of the evening!! The entrees came with fantastic tasting pastas! Some had the Chilean Bass and I selected the Chicken Marsala, daughter( birthday celebrant) had the Veal Piccata, others the Scallops etc. We ALL, OOHED AND AAHED about the most delicious tastes we were experiencing!! There was a wide selection of desserts, coffees and liqueurs!! A Cannoli with a candle was brought to my daughter( delicious she said!) I had the Creme Brûlée, others had the Tiramisu. Our waiter was Russell, and treated all of us with warmth, courtesy! I would say he was EXCELLENT, and deserved the praise we gave him! It was for all of us a most fantastic dining experience!!

Great spot for family night and/or date night! Excellent service and the food is easily some of the best Italian food in San Antonio!

My experience at Scuzzi's was amazing. The staff is very prompt on greeting as soon as I walked in and you can feel the good energy within seconds. I am big on asking for recommendations on what to eat because I like knowing if the staff knows their menu and today I was recommended the Chicken Fiorentina. This was so delicious, the chicken was good with perfection and the cream they used was not too thick. The food came out hot but not too hot where you can't enjoy biting into it. I have been here more than a few times and every time I am not disappointed. I highly recommend coming to this Italian Restaurant.

Great food and server. First time to eat here and was not disappointed. Our server Daniel was on top of everything. He knew the menu and what items were on special and could answer all questions. We will go back!

My sister and I went here, We order appetizers and wedding soup. Soup was excellent and their cup is really a bowl, the french fried asparagus was delious so was the other app. but can't remember what it was. Great Ambiance. Now the ugly, place was not full but our hostess kept trying to put us in out of the way corner and booths are very tight. our server was no where to be found. we would see everyone else waiters, but we had to keep asking for things like oil for bread, I finally had to stop one of them for soup spoons. Would I go back yes because food was good, just more demanding where we are placed and manger if service is still bad..

Albeit it was a rainy day the view there was very nice. The service was prompt and cordial and the live music set a very nice ambiance. The food was very good and I highly recommend the tiramisu. My only reason for not giving this 5 stars was the marinara was rather regular. Nothing wrong with it but it wasn't spectacular. Aside from that it was a great experience.

From the ambiance to the service to the food, dining at Scuzzi's was a wonderful experience. They have a very accommodating menu and an excellent wine selection. The waitstaff, as well as the GM, were very pleasant and extremely helpful with recommendations... everything we ordered was delicious. When in San Antonio, Scuzzi's is a must!

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant after reading favorable reviews. We walked in about 1:00 PM and were promptly greeted and seated. We were given the lunch menu and asked for our drink order. We ordered the Calamari for appetizer. My wife had Chicken Saltimbocca and I chose the Sausage Cacciatore. The Calamari was really tasty with the red sauce. The main course came out right when we were completing the appetizer. We were pleased but not excited by our lunch. The waiter took good care of us. The background music was close to elevator style. When we were there I saw maybe 5-6 tables being served. We would return.

Look at it. Look at it.... I order Fresh Pet for my dogs, and it's better! Wedge salad! Look at it! I spend $15 on this!!! The bruschetta the bread the bread are hockey pucks!! Now seasoning! Are you even Italians? How old is this day old bread? Look. At. It. Truly Your, Shame. Shame. Shame.

You can go to a lot of Italian places and if you have never been to Italy or Europe, you have nothing to compare to what you eat here if it is authentic or not. I have been to Italy many times as I have lived in Europe for over 16 years and believe me Scuzzis has the cuisine down to a science. The atmosphere is great as well. The waiters are all professionally dressed and the service is excellent! Mazi, the owner is one of a kind as he is there on the floor as well. I have been going here for over two years and I have never had a bad meal! Nate

The Lasagna was thin, but delicious. THE Chicken Florentina was moist and tender. The service was great. Quiet atmosphere even during lunch hour. Will definitely be back.

Love the food here. Shrimp Scuzzi, pasta primavera, even mac and cheese are good. Desserts are decadent. Fabulous cannoli. Creme brulee comes with a fire show! They fire up grand marnier to caramelize the surface. It's also more than big enough for two!

If you're looking for outstanding food and service, Scuzzi's is the place to go. We've been there many times and have never been disappointed. We made a last-minute reservation for New Year's Eve and had a fabulous meal. A great way to end the year. Their bruschetta is among the best we've had as is their Caesar salad. I normally order the veal picatta. It's always great! I've never had better. For a change, my wife ordered the seabass picatta. She's often been disappointed when ordering fish at restaurants, but this time was a pleasant exception. She said it was absolutely delicious. Our side dishes were also delicious. My wife had the veggies. They're steamed with a sauce that gives them a really great taste. My pasta with butter and garlic was just right. By the time we finished, we were pretty full. I wanted dessert, but not right then. So, they prepared tiramisu to go. I had it a couple hours later and it, too, did not disappoint. The prices at Scuzzi's are quite reasonable. They have a nice wine list, also with reasonable prices. We'll be back to Scuzzi's often.

Had a party of 40. We had excellent service. The food was delicious as always. Many guests had not been there before and were very impressed. It's a favorite place for the consistently excellent food and great value happy hour. The Shrimp appetizer and the eggplant are top choices!

Ended up here after our destination restaurant was beyond busy......after calling around Found Scuzzi's with a short 15 min wait time....... Arrived and found the small restaurant a nice, quiet, comfortable place to have a great meal!! Waiter was very attentive and kept glasses full and provided exceptional experienced service (well done!). Food was immaculately prepared, and seasoned to perfection. Large portions and relatively inexpensive prices. Had the Wrapped Prosciutto appetizer which was amazing!! Melted Cheese wrapped in salted Prosciutto..... also the Bruschetta was incredible, some unreal thin slices of enormous garlic and tomato with basil and olive oil...WOW! Grilled sausage, onion and pepper plate was really enough for two......awesome flavor! Overall experience was beyond expectations. Will be going back again! First rate Italian fare! Give it a try, will not disappoint!

Excellent service and some great dishes. Try the sautéed calamari appetizer as it is so much better than anything fried. Good service and nice atmosphere.

Worst service ever! Waitress brought wrong food and never came by to refresh drinks. When she brought the missing pasta it was dry- no sauce. She forgot to bring the bread and oil that i asked for and when she finally came by 15 minutes later I reminded her and she lied and said there wasn’t any bread ready until just then - really?! Well she still didn’t have it with her so she clearly forgot. I complained to the manager and he switched servers. I ordered Italian Wedding cake to go and gave a 25% tip since they were probably going to have to share it and I was trying not to be ‘that’ person....well I got home and they gave me the wrong dessert!! Never again!

The food was delicious. Excellent lunch price for the right amount of food. We can't wait to return for dinner. I ordered Gamberetti alla Scuzzi’s Lightly coated jumbo shrimp and garlic and Italian herbs in lemon butter white wine sauce very YUMMY!!!

Had reservations for 7:45. Was told the wait would be about 30 minutes. At 8:15 we were able to sit. This was are first time coming here. We started off with a couple of drinks from the bar. The drinks had no flavor and it appeared to have very little alcohol. The bar was backed up and it showed. We had shrimp Scuzzi which was very good. Our meals came out fast considering how busy the restaurant was. Our food was very good also. I had the grilled chicken on spaghetti. My wife had another chicken dish. We had plenty of leftovers. Rene was our server and did an exceptional job. We'll come back and try another time just nothing from the bar this time.

We are here almost every Sunday!! The food is awesome!! Service is always great! Drinks are awesome (esp for Sunday brunch!!) This is as close to Italy as you can get here in S.A.!! Esp love the fact that you can order off the menu and some of the waiters actually know what we want!! Definitely recommend Scuzzi's!!

If you enjoyed this place, I don't think you get out much...Mother's Day lunch: Service was horrible! Took 3 or 4 attempts just to get a drink. The food was bland, no seasoning at all. The crème brulee tasted like jello pudding Less than mediocre for the prices they charge! They had a cheek to add the 15% gratuity for party of 7, the service was so bad the "manager" came out at the very end, but no attempt at compensation for what they knew was a miserable experience for an over $400 bill. The décor is outdated also, just skip it all together, there are so many better places that at least try. Maybe they will read this , but I doubt they'll answer.

We eat here often. We know exactly what we want when we sit down. The food is consistent and always good. At lunch time the service is always quick, you can be in and out of there in under an hour.

We had a wedding rehearsal dinner here and could not have been more pleased. We had 40 people and heard not one complaint. The service was fantastic! Everyone's food came out at about the same time. We offered 3 choices for dinner and all were very good. We had cocktails and wine before and during dinner and all of the servers did a fantastic job of keeping up. There is a 20% gratuity added to the bill but I chose to up to 22%. I know at least 2 of our guests also tipped generously even though I told them gratuity was included. The only name I remember his Carlos, but everyone was great. I would highly recommend for your event.

Very tasty! Good service. I really liked it so if I could give it 4.5 stars, I would. We had some yummy wine, calamari, cannelloni, and lobster ravioli and everything was delicious. We will go again!

We tried this restaurant for the first time tonight and were not disappointed. On Thursdays the martinis are $5 and the cucumber version I ordered was great. My husband loved his lasagna, and I was quite pleased with my pasta primavera. Drinks are pricey, so go on martini night like we did! Menu items priced a bit above average, but within reason and portions are large. Nice quiet ambience for comfortable conversation. Our server was excellent. We will go back.

Nice restaurant with good amount of choices on the menu. It wasn't very crowded on a Tue night but they have half off wine on that day. Had Scuzzi's Penne with chicken and dried tomatoes which was very good. Good attentive service as well.

Social media advertisement photos rarely gets my business, however this time around one did get my attention and did not disappoint! The food is amazing the ambiance is relaxing! I highly recommend for a great night out!

I have to say there must be some competitors that are just being haters, the service at Scuzzis is always extraordinary!! On Valentine’s Day there is a wait, but where is there not ?! The food is delish!! Ambiance is still amazing, Mazi treats everyone like family! I read some of the reviews that criticized Scuzzis and have to say, they are wrong! And most likely pissed off competitors ! Shame shame

How do you screw up a wedge salad??? Really??? Then the waiter asked me what was wrong with it...Wow! I've had alot of wedge salads this one looked like that lettuce should have been in the garbage not my plate!

My girlfriend and I took my son for a simple lunch. And let me tell you we had two very different experiences. First off, I'm an Italian American born and raised in Brooklyn New York. So I know my Italian food and take it extremely serious. And this place, does too! Their food was absolutely delicious. The pasta, the pizza, the fried calamari, the wine, Everything! The night of my birthday we had who I later learned was the owner service us, Mazi. He was very cheerful and warming. His night staff was as well. My family and I felt at home and had a lot of fun celebrating together there.

This lovely Italian restaurant is adjacent to the Radisson Hotel at Cross Keys. We had dinner our first night at the Radisson and were delighted with the ambiance, service and exquisite food. We've eaten at Italian restaurants all over the world and I enjoyed the BEST tomato basil soup that I've ever had. I plan to return several more times for that. My boyfriend and I shared the Margarita Pizza and it was also delicious. It's worth the drive to enjoy the quiet, country atmosphere and delicious food!

I had an early lunch here on a weekday. The dining room has an elegant ambiance. I arrived to an empty restaurant and was asked by the hostess if I had a reservation. ?? Since the place was almost empty, it seemed like a silly question, but I was seated immediately (without a reservation). The server was not very attentive and it took a while for the food to come. But when it did, it was very good. I had the salmon picatta and it was probably the best I have had in San Antonio. I don't think I would return for lunch due to the slow service and the price. But this restaurant would be a good choice for a leisurely dinner where time and cost were not a concern.

My family and I have been patrons of Scuzzi's for many years. We usually dine here at least twice a month and Tuesday is my wife's favorite with the half price wine special. Wednesday is also great, with live dinner music and $5 Specialty Drinks! One of the best things about Scuzzi's is how accommodating they are, they have no problem with special requests. On a recent visit I mentioned to our waiter Russ that I wish they had lamb on the menu and he said just let us know a couple days in advance of your next visit and we'll prepare it for you. We had friends coming into town the following week and made a reservation for 14, sure enough the night we came the Chefs Special was lamb! It was delicious! Mazi, the owner said that when the new location opens in Leon Springs this August they will probably be adding lamb to the menu or do a weekly lamb feature. That would be a win/win as we live in Fair Oaks Ranch! My wife's favorite is the saffron seafood sauce over grilled snapper, the fish is always fresh and flavorful. Overall I'd say this is definitely our favorite Italian restaurant! It's always consistently delicious (I hear they've had the same Chef for over 10 years) and the service is exceptional.

Happy hour great value. The wine prices very reasonable. The Shrimp was fabulous! Also the eggplant parmagean delicious. The staff very polite and helpful.

Third time here with the worst service!!! 1 pm reservations and weren't recognized... 1 1/2 hours with three young children and we were served salad! REALLY?!!?!?!? Several tables around us were flipped twice while here we sat. Do not plan on a return visit. Only redeeming quality is the manager finally acknowledged their mistake and took care of the bill & the food was excellent!

My husband and my mother went in for dinner. We ordered no appetizers and had one glass of wine for each of us. The shrimp was like rubber. The caneloni was flat, stuck to the plate and covered with orange sauce of some kind. Our bill was $130.00! I think they keep the lights down low so people can't read the menu. It is dark in there with "rich tones and colors" however you can't see. Then you get the bill.

We ate here with our 96 year old friend. The waitress was very accommodating to her requests, polite and friendly. An enjoyable experience and the food was very good. I recommend the restaurant to you.

Recently enjoyed an evening at Scuzzi's with friends. Excellent service with original large portioned recipes which help you remember what is great Italian. Spacious outdoor tables are available but a bit noisy with air traffic.

Service was good but the entrees were pathelically small and tasted just like a microwave dinner. Parking is never a problem but construction on the road to access the restaurant is a particularly painful before 7 PM. I don't plan to go back.

Was a group of two couples. No one was impressed. The food was just decent. Yet, was very pricey. The staff was not knowledgeable and seemed untrained.

Was a part of a huge group (60) and the staff handled orders and roaming guests flawlessly. Food came out timely and no incorrect orders. AMAZING and delicious.

I love this place's happy hour and usually order the same thing to share with a friend; appetizer shrimp scuzzi, side of pasta, and a salad. The young man Chris who used to be in the bar was awesome, but I guess he's gone because I have not seen him recently. Our server this time was nice enough, and we ordered as we always do, to share. We did not ask for the meal to be split in the kitchen, so I was surprised when they did this. Ok, that's nice. But when the bill came we were charged $3 to split the plates. It's not a lot of money, but it's irritating. Plus we ordered a bottle of wine, and the server did not know enough to pour a taste. He filled our glasses right away, so it's a good thing the wine was acceptable. It's little things like this that keep this place from being first class.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at new Leon Springs location. They allowed my girlfriends and I to have a delightful evening with our bride-to-be. We had wine, laughed, and shared great memories. The staff was courteous and helped with the wine selections. Thank you for a great dinner party!

We dine at Scuzzi's often with my 85 year old mom. She is the one who turned us on to the "shrimp ala scuzzi"...our absolute favorite dish! The butter, lemon and lightly sautéed shrimp are heavenly. The calamari is delish, as well. Every time we are in SA we try and go for Sunday lunch. Great lunch deals, btw!

My family likes the location of this restaurant but unfortunately every time I go as an invite it is the worst experience. After you order it takes up to 45 minutes to receive the food. They never have enough help and make sure to bring bottles water, because you will only get one chance to get a refill. After the last visit I will never go back. They never brought my food and didn't realize until they brought me my check. Both waiters blamed the other as they apologized. They even tried to sneak the gratuity on my check because it was a large group. Spend your money elsewhere with better service and food. The owners should be ashamed of themselves to run a mismanaged restaurant like this.

Had brunch at Scuzzi's by myself, and it was perfect! The staff was super friendly, and the vibe was cozy. I had the avocado toast with a mimosa-so good! It was nice to relax, enjoy my food, and take a little "me time." I’ll definitely be back!

This is a nice restaurant with an upscale atmosphere. Service was fine, as was the food. It is certainly better than many small Italian restaurants in the area, but it wasn't anything special. Prices are reasonable.

My lovely, very mature Mom wanted to celebrate new friends moving to San Antonio to be closer to their children and grand kiddos - Scuzzi's Nailed it for our visit! We were 10 people: Food served well and hot, service was very attentive, all were full, and enjoyed sharing decadent deserts!

They have the homemade hand toss pizza, but they also have some very good Italian dishes. Very good. Their pasta dishes are spot on, from the fresh seafood to the fresh herbs. A very nice wine list or beer list to go with about anything. They serve 4 desserts all hand made. The garlic knots is a speciality, but that was the only thing I was not impressed with. They were served cold instead of warm and were very obviously a day or so old and a bit hard. So sad... But, who needs bread, when you can have a really good Italian dinner or pizza!

Came with a girlfriend to try something different. The doors at the entry are gorgeous and in the interior is nice. The booths against the wall are only intended for tiny people and certainly won't accommodate most. As for the food, we were sorely disappointed! While the calamari appetizer was good, the rest was lackluster. The pork chop was bland. The sauce made it better but the meat itself was flavorless. The "stuffed" chicken breast dish we tried was tasty but was 2 very thin breasts (probably 1 cut in half) with a few veggies on top. The spaghetti side was a bowl of spaghetti with a small spoon of sauce on top. Just blah. The funny part was when we got our dessert. We ordered a prefix meal so we didn't expect a huge dessert, but the waitress said it was a good size. We got a thin sliver of what tasted like a store bought layered mouse cake. Again, blah. We were almost insulted. There was more sauce drizzled on the plate than there was actual dessert. The kicker came when I got my bill. We had drank a $5 cocktail but because my cocktail was sweet, I asked for a house Cab next. A suggestion was made and I accepted. Shame on me for not asking for the price because when I got the bill I learned that I was charged $18 for that glass! Ugh! Save yourself the trouble. Go to Paesano's, The Grill at Leon Springs, Carrabbas, Russo's, Piatti, Fralo's, Dough....

Heard good things about this place so family and friends decided to have a birthday party here. Major mistake. We were a party of 14, which understandably could mean a tad bit slower service, but honestly 40 minutes to order and almost an hour to get the food is ridiculous. Especially considering two other larger parties, sat ,ordered, were served and left all before we did. My wife ordered one glass of wine....another 15 minute wait for it to be brought to the table. When the food finally did arrive some food was cold and other food was way below par for how expensive it was and they even left out chicken on the chicken alfredo my brother in law ordered. They brought out the chicken about 15 minutes later for him to put on top of his now cold fettuccine. It also took about 3 or 4 trips from the server to bring out lemon wedges, crushed red pepper and Parmesan cheese (all asked for at the same time). The primavera fettuccine was extremely oily and my friend that ordered the spring salad with tenderloin strips was not happy with her food either. My wife's broccoli penne had gigantic slivers of garlic that completely overwhelmed the dish. Finally when everyone had finished, it took about 15 minutes to get everyone's respective check plus another 20 minutes just to get them back to sign. Went in at 6 didn't get out of here until 9. No appetizers or desserts ordered either. If you want good Italian food in SA try Maggianos or even Piccolo's. Both are less expensive with better service and quality of food. Won't be going back here.

They have good prices and good service. We usually go for lunch to order a salad with their great house dressing and the Shrimp Scuzzi that is always great. The shrimp is a little breaded with a great butter sauce. My wife loves the eggplant parmesan. If you order a drink make sure the bartender is working. Will be going back.

We went to Scuzzi’s the other night, enticed by a coupon that offered $10 off, $30 in entrees. When we arrived the happy hour was still in effect. So, we ordered a $20 bottle of wine off the Happy Hour menu. The wine we ordered was not in stock, so they substituted a Chilean cabernet. We order two entrees ($32) and two side salads. When it came time to pay the bill, we presented our coupon. We were told that we could not use the coupon because we had ordered the bottle of wine off the Happy Hour menu. What does a wine order have to do with a food coupon? I can see rejecting two food coupons, but..... for gosh sakes. What a bunch of cheapskates. By the way, the wine they gave us as a substitute sells for $9.89 at HEB. Needless to say we won’t be back.

Always go there will in the Cork. Never disappointed yet. Highly recommend this. Something for every taste and age

Stopped by for lunch with my best girlfriend. The decor was very elegant, with soft lighting and tasteful jazz music playing in the background. Waiters are fairly attentive (although we did have to flag ours down a couple of times). The lunch menu is a little pricy, and the food took a while to come, so this isn't a place I would stop at often. However, the dishes we ordered were very tasty. I had the Shrimp Scuzzi (see photo) and really enjoyed it. This would be a nice restaurant for a date night or special occasion, or perhaps just as a change when you're tired of fast food. I do not recommend that you bring small children here - unless they're sleeping or extremely quiet.

I have been to Italy several times and this place was very authentic. Very friendly staff and the service was exceptional and very attentive. This was the BEST place I ate at while in San Antonio for 30 days. Some people might say the prices are steep, but let me tell you this.... This is not Olive Garden! If you want Olive Garden food, go there instead. This food will blow your socks off and it is worth every penny. The taste and quality were beyond what I expected! This is such a nice place that I recommend coming here for a nice date, anniversary, birthday or other special occasion but not so pricey that you couldn't just eat here because you feel like it! A++++++++

Best Italian food on this side of town. My favorite is Sausage & Peppers but I have never had a bad meal here nor have I ever heard complaints from anyone who has eaten here. Friendly & attentive staff does not hover. There when needed.

Tried this much tv advertised restaurant. We ordered calamari and spaghetti with meat sauce. Also added two ice teas. The bill was $ 40. This was for lunch by the way. They do advertise on tv lunch specials starting at $6.99 and up which were not on the menu. Neither were ANY prices. Food was good, but I when i pay $40 or more for a meal I'd rather visit an upscale restaurant with exceptional food. I think that's why their parking lot is pretty empty! You decide.

Great service, the most delicious steak and shrimp...noone compares! Ambiance, service and food get two thumbs up! Try it and you will become a regular customer!

Eventually I'll learn not to order a cocktail while in Texas. Met a business partner for dinner and started with a vodka/club soda. Very little club soda and even less vodka. Followed that with a vodka/rocks and got an eye dropper serving of vodka. Happens to me every time I get a drink in this state, almost like they get offended that you didn't order beer. That lack of a good pour was made up for by quality and very attentive service as well as a decent meal. I had the chicken napeoaolti and my business partner had the past and shrimp. Decent meal but nothing special about it. Pasta on the side had bland marinara (not worth the calories).

We have enjoyed this restaurant on numerous occasions. This Italian food is far superior to that of any of the other local choices. The national chain Italian restaurants are not even in the same league with Scuzzi's. The egg plant at Scuzzi's is to die for. It is a large piece of egg plant covered with shrimp, sauce, peppers and other great stuff. It is fabulous just to see it served, and to eat it is quite a treat. The first time I ordered it and it was brought to the table I thought they brought the wrong item. It is so very different from what you get at other Italian restaurants. If you were to have egg plant at the chain restaurants it is a tough very thin piece of egg plant that has no taste and is a real disappointment. At Scuzzi's the eggplant is a real treat that you can't believe. Then there are the other great dishes on the menu. The shrimp is fabulous. The lasagna is also a great choice. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. This is a place to go as a couple or with a family, it is a real treat for any occasion. They have a great selection of wines to choice from and the servers all seem quite knowledgeable about the various wine choices. I am making myself hungry for Scuzzi's just thinking about their food choices. My wife and I are taking a friend there this week as special treat.

We brought a friend from out of town here and she loved it!! Bellinitini was a hit!! Best cocktail drink ever!! And the food was amazing as usual!!

Regretfully we tried the Scuzzi’s on 1604 Boerne Stage Road. We were disappointed again. I’ve tried it three times and it has not been very good. The location on 1604 near Blanco has always been good. Not sure what the problem is, but they need to work on consistent quality control.

My 23 year old daughter and I met my best friend here for lunch today (Monday) at around 1:30. It was not busy at all. They were still serving from the lunch menu. I was quite surprized at the prices because I had seen an ad once indicating that they had lunch specials from $6.99. It turns out that would buy only a salad. I am retired and live on a limited income. Since most entrees were well over $10, I ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce. My daughter ordered penne pasta with sugrosa sauce. If we wanted to add meat it was several dollars more. The salads were good and the bread seemed fresh and was also good. When they brought my entree I was surprised to find a huge pile of spaghetti with hardly any sauce at all. Whatever sauce they gave me was absorbed so quickly that I was eating barely moistened spaghetti. My daughter felt the same about her penne pasta. My friend noticed and said "what happened to your sauce"? I didn't want to make a big deal but she called over the waitress and asked for them to give me more sauce. They brought out a little bowl of sauce and my daughter also put some on her pasta. I will have to say that it was about the blandest tasting sauce I have ever had. I have had Ragu sauce that had more flavor. My daughter and I both brought the majority of our pasta home so that we could spruce it up later by adding some garlic, and maybe some cheese. The wait staff was attentive and friendly but the food was very mediocre. On the way home I talked to my daughter about it. She said "I feel like they put so much effort into the ambiance of the restaurant that they forgot the food!" That is a very good point. When I walked out of there I realized how ironic it was that we had paid over $30 for lunch but were bringing home most of our lunch because it wasn't tasty enough to eat.

A friend and I met up for dinner here. The food here is consistently good. The dishes are more of a Texas twist on Italian food than true Italian cuisine. I like the Chicken Napolitano and regularly order it. But honestly I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Our service last night was not great. Our server rushed us and seemed annoyed after I asked for a minute to review the menu and wine list as we were just sat and I wanted to select a wine that would compliment my meal. Maybe he was having an off day as the restaurant was not very busy.

Enjoyed a lovely and most successful dinner with a business colleague. The staff was very attentive yet respectful of our need for conversation. The appetizers and entrée were fabulous and contributed to the evening's success.

This restaurant is very, very nice! The staff is extremely attentive, the atmosphere is elegant but cozy and the food is terrific! Scuzzi's does it right....fresh hot bread, very fresh ingredients in the salad and fresh dressings. The entrees have the best marinara sauce that I have ever tasted. The chicken parmesan with pasta and marinara sauce was excellent. The ravioli dish was excellent as well. I can not stress enough the professionalism and attentiveness of the wait staff. I felt like I was in a palace! We have found our new Italian restaurant!!!

This was my first visit and I will definitely be back. The food was fresh, hot and tasty and arrived in very good time. I had the caprese salad which was a generous size and very good I then had a tasty spicy pizza, I can't remember the name but it had green chilli's on it. I shouldn't have, but I managed to fit in the toffee brulee which was divine! Although it was a Tuesday night the place was busy and there was a really good atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive and the service was spot on.....

My son-in-law and I had lunch here as part of the Culinaria San Antonio event. We had the Eggplant Parmesan. The marinara sauce was delicious and the eggplant was not soggy. We definitely will return. Service is spot-on and the Wait Staff are friendly. This restaurant will be added to my list of Favorites.

We had not been here in several years so met some friends for an evening out. They have different drink specials each day. The bar is a nice size and is separate from the restaurant. They have a very good drink selection but pricing is high unless you catch the $5 cocktail night. Several had the Pomegranate Mojito and it was really refreshing. The wine is a serving choice of 4, 6 or 9 oz with a good selection of wines. We had made earlier reservations so our table was ready for us on time. The service in the bar and main dining was all very good. It was not overly busy the night we were there so that helped. We were prepared to use a coupon but another couple also had one and the waiter told them that only one coupon could be used per table so we didn't even present ours. But the coupon DOES NOT STATE THAT on the coupon but we weren't going to cause a fuss. We just missed out on saving $10 which helps since this is a pricey place by our standards. Surprisingly the majority ordered the Grilled Chicken which is a double breast served on spaghetti with basil and capers. They all enjoyed it. Another ordered the Italian Wedding Soup and it was standard and $8 for an average size bowl. Some ordered veggies and they looked delicious. The evening went nice and everything was very clean. This definitely is a special occasion place if you are on a budget. We all said it might be nice to come and enjoy the bar area to relax.

Where do I even start? I was part of a group event hosted at this venue and the service was god awful. My food was burnt, we were left out on the cold patio where they only turned on one of the 5 patio heaters available. Employees never so much as refilled our water glasses, and I had to ask for a clean set of silverware multiple times before they decided to give a damn. Some guy claiming to be the owner was so rude and confrontational, I felt physically uncomfortable just being near that place. Never again will I return to this god awful place.

Excellent service. The pasta selection is awesome, and it is delicious. Recommend the penne with grilled chicken!

Excellent menu, have tried three large salads which were all exceptionally good. Entry from 1604 w is a little complicated, need to go north on NW Military then right into shopping center and weave around back toward the access road.

This is my second visit to Scuzzi's. My first visit was for dinner and I was unimpressed with the pretentious aura in the dining room as well as my overall visit. I was dragged back there kicking and screaming by my lady for Happy Hour and the difference was night and day. We sat in the bar area at a wonderful corner table. We were greeted warmly and I felt welcomed. The bartender CHRIS was our server and he was excellent! The wine selection was good, Caprese Salad and Shrimp Scuzzi with pasta was wonderful. Happy hour pricing was very reasonable and the "specials" were incredible. I'll definitely be back for another Happy Hour.

My wife and I have been to Rome several times and love it! This restaurant give you a San Antonio spin on good Italian food. We liked it the food was really good and the staff was really great..

Party of 4 females, first outing for lunch in an actual restaurant since Covid-19 restrictions were lifted. Had two small roaches crawl out of the sugar/splenda "holder" on the table. Are you kidding me??? We did not have to pay for our meal thank goodness, but will never be back to this restaurant in the future and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Totally unsanitary and disgusting.

I visited the restaurant recently with my friends. We sat in the bar so that we could get drinks at happy hour prices. The pomegranate martini was just so-so, but the cucumber martini was fantastic and I would highly recommend it. At $6.00 a drink, this was a good deal. The food, however, was not that great. The chicken piccata was pretty uninspiring. At $17, I feel that it is overpriced for what you get. Next time, I will stick with the appetizers listed on the happy hour menu.

I have tried to enjoy this place but every time we go there, something happens to make it a bad experience. The food is just ok, the prices are high and the service really is not good. Will not go again.

I went to dine-in with my family, and it was a wonderful experience. We didn't have a reservation, yet we were seated without too much of a wait time. The food was delicious, the drinks were refreshing, and our server was very helpful & kind. Definitely a place I can see us revisiting in the near future!

Great ambience and service, along with great bar food and inexpensive drink prices set this place apart. We go often and get consistently good food and service. The best deal on the menu is the Shrimp Scuzzis. Add a side of pasta and some bread...perfect!

It was Mother's day and you expect it to be busy BUT making a reservation was a waste of time. We arrived about 5 minutes before our reservation time and waited at least 15 minutes to "check in" as the host stand was also handling to go order pick ups. When finally our turn I told the host we had a reservation and he said "all of our tables are occupied right now, maybe check back in about 20 minutes". I said well we have a reservation, don't you want to log it in that we are here and waiting and he said "no, everyone has a reservation you just need to check back in 20 minutes and we'll see if we can seat you". Had it not been mother's day we would've left but instead went into the bar, found an empty (but dirty) table and sat down. Thanks to a pretty amazing bartender who was great at multi-tasking that's where things got better. He cleared and cleaned the table and took our drink orders. When I told him what had happened he apologized and said if we'd like to have lunch in the bar he'd be happy to wait on us. Since stalking the host stand for a table didn't appeal to us we had lunch in the bar. Never once during the time we were there was anyone called to be seated so apparently stalking the dining room for a table was the only way you'd be seated reservation or not. I will say the food was really good, the service was professional and it was amazing that he was able to handle the bar and waiting tables with such poise and efficiency. We did have a laugh on the way out when we saw the big "help wanted" sign posted. They certainly do need help - management on down. Maybe promote the bartender?

Picked up dinner for four adults and four kiddos on a Saturday night. Food was extremely good! Fresh and flavorful. Altogether we ordered chicken parm, chicken alfredo, lasagna, and chicken marsala. Everyone was happy! A bit pricey, but not too bad. They have lunch specials, hopefully we will check those out in house next time!

Good food. Good service. Setting and the view off the hill side are great. However. They charge a 2.99% credit card fee. This is not acceptable for a place that has a lunch price of $15 a plate. Credit cards have fees but cash transactions have fees as well as well as other draw backs. I liked the food but will be taking my business elsewhere because of the added fee.

The service was excellent as always. Mazi continue to impress by the calibre of his waitstaff. The food is always great. Our daughter picked Scuzzi's over Bob's Chophouse for her birthday. The creme brûlée with Grand Marnier was an excellent dessert. They also brought her a birthday cannoli with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to her in Italian. A very classy establishment.

Went to dinner with our adult daughter and enjoyed a nice dinner and glass of wine . Our waitress was very attentive and food was delicious As always. What I really want to comment on is the valet guy who walked me and my daughter to our car under an umbrella as it was pouring rain and lightning out. He offered to go get our car for us even tho we didn’t use valet . My husband had already braved the storm to pick me and my daughter up by the door so we didn’t have to get soaked. So kudos to the valet guy for such great service .
Another fine meal here
Excellent calamari for first course followed by a Caesar salad and veal picatta . Delicious tiramisu for dessert . Some aspects of service was spotty and I found the prices to be quite steep. There were not too many people there for dinner on a Sunday night
